73 - al-Muzzammil (The Enwrapped One) .

Ya ayyuha almuzzammilu

O you wrapped in garments (i.e. Prophet Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam])!

O you who wraps himself [in clothing],

போர்வை போர்த்திக் கொண்டிருப்பவரே!

போர்வை போர்த்திக் கொண்டிருப்பவரே!

போர்வை போர்த்திக் கொண்டிருப்பவரே!

O you the enwrapped one,

Qumi allayla illa qaleelan

Stand (to pray) all night, except a little –

Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little -

(நபியே!) இரவில் நீங்கள் (தொழுகைக்காக எழுந்து) நில்லுங்கள். (முழு இரவிலுமல்ல; அதிலொரு) சொற்ப பாகம். (அதாவது:)

இரவில் - சிறிது நேரம் தவிர்த்து (தொழுகைக்காக எழுந்து) நிற்பீராக;

இரவில் (தொழுவதற்காக) எழுவீராக! சொற்ப (நேர)ம் தவிர-

Stand up in prayer at night except a little,

Nisfahu awi onqus minhu qaleelan

Half of it, – or a little less than that,

Half of it - or subtract from it a little

அதில் பாதி (நேரம்). அதில் நீங்கள் சிறிது குறைத்தும் கொள்ளலாம்;

அதில் பாதி (நேரம்) அல்லது அதில் சிறிது குறைத்துக் கொள்வீராக!

அதில் பாதி, (நேரத்தில் தொழுவீராக!) அல்லது அதிலிருந்து சொற்ப (நேர)த்தைக் குறைத்துக் கொள்வீராக!

half of it, or a little less,

Aw zid AAalayhi warattili alqurana tarteelan

Or a little more. And recite the Qur'ân (aloud) in a slow (pleasant tone and) style.

Or add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation.

அல்லது அதில் சிறிது கூட்டியும் கொள்ளலாம். (அதில்) இந்தக் குர்ஆனை நன்கு திருத்தமாக ஓதுங்கள்.

அல்லது அதைவிடச் சற்று அதிகப்படுத்திக் கொள்வீராக; மேலும் குர்ஆனைத் தெளிவாகவும், நிறுத்தி, நிறுத்தியும் ஓதுவீராக.

அல்லது அதை விட (ச்சற்று நேரத்தை) அதிகப்படுத்திக் கொள்வீராக! (இரவுத் தொழுகையான) அதில் குர் ஆனை (நன்கு திருத்தமாக) நிறுத்தி, நிறுத்தியும் ஓதுவீராக!

or a little more, and recite the Qur’an at a measured pace.

Inna sanulqee AAalayka qawlan thaqeelan

Verily, We shall send down to you a weighty Word (i.e. obligations, laws).

Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word.

நிச்சயமாக நாம் அதிசீக்கிரத்தில், மிக உறுதியான ஒரு வார்த்தையை உங்கள்மீது இறக்கி வைப்போம்.

நிச்சயமாக, நாம் விரைவில் கனமான உறுதியான - ஒரு வாக்கை உம்மீது இறக்கி வைப்போம்.

நிச்சயமாக, நாம் அடுத்து பளுவான வாக்கை உம்மீது போடுவோம். (வஹீயின் மூலம் அறிவிப்போம்.)

We will send down upon you a heavy revelation.

Inna nashiata allayli hiya ashaddu watan waaqwamu qeelan

Verily, the rising by night (for Tahajjud prayer) is very hard and most potent and good for governing oneself, and most suitable for (understanding) the Word (of Allâh).

Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words.

நிச்சயமாக இரவில் எழுந்திருப்பது, (ஆத்மாவை) மிக அதிகம் பழக்கி, (அடக்கி வைப்பதுடன்) எதனையும் உள்ளமும், நாவும் ஒத்துக் கூறும்படியும் செய்கிறது.

நிச்சயமாக, இரவில் எழு(ந்திருந்து வணங்கு)வது (அகத்தையும் புறத்தையும்) ஒருங்கிணைக்க வல்லது. மேலும் வாக்கையும் செவ்வைப்படுத்த வல்லது.

நிச்சயமாக இரவில் (வணக்கத்தை நிறைவேற்ற) எழுவதானது_ அதுவே (மனமும் நாவும்) ஒன்றிணைந்திருக்க மிக்க உறுதியானதும், மேலும் கூற்றால் மிக்க உறுதியானதுமாகும்.

Indeed, prayer at night is more effective and more conducive to proper recitation.

Inna laka fee alnnahari sabhan taweelan

Verily, there is for you by day prolonged occupation with ordinary duties.

Indeed, for you by day is prolonged occupation.

நிச்சயமாக உங்களுக்குப் பகலில் நீண்ட வேலைகள் இருக்கின்றன.

நிச்சயமாகப் பகலில் உமக்கு நெடிய (கடினமான) வேலைகள் இருக்கின்றன.

நிச்சயமாக உமக்குப் பகலில் நீண்ட வேலை இருக்கின்றது.

In daytime, you have plenty of time for your worldly matters.

Waothkuri isma rabbika watabattal ilayhi tabteelan

And remember the Name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with a complete devotion.

And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion.

நீங்கள் (அவைகளில் இருந்து ஓய்வுபெற்று) அவனளவில் முற்றிலும் திரும்பி, அவனுடைய திருப்பெயரை நினைவு செய்து கொண்டிருப்பீர்களாக!

எனினும் (இரவிலும், பகலிலும்) உம்முடைய இறைவனின் பெயரை தியானிப்பீராக! இன்னும் அவனளவிலேயே முற்றிலும் திரும்பியவராக இருப்பீராக.

மேலும், உமதிரட்சகனின் பெயரை நினைவு கூர்வீராக! (அவனுக்கே வணக்கத்தையும், பிரார்த்தனையையும் ஆக்கி) அவன்பால் முற்றிலும் ஆகிவிடுவீராக!

And remember the Name of your Lord, and devote yourself completely to Him.

Rabbu almashriqi waalmaghribi la ilaha illa huwa faittakhithhu wakeelan

(He Alone is) the Lord of the east and the west; Lâ ilâha illâ Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). So take Him Alone as Wakîl (Disposer of your affairs).

[He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs.

அவனே கீழ் திசைக்கும் மேல் திசைக்கும் எஜமான். அவனைத் தவிர வணக்குத்திற்குரிய வேறு இறைவன் இல்லை. ஆகவே, அவனையே நீங்கள் (உங்களது) பொறுப்பாளனாக எடுத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள்.

(அவனே) கிழக்கிற்கும், மேற்கிற்கும் இறைவன்; அவனைத் தவிர வேறு நாயனில்லை; ஆகவே அவனையே நீர் பாதுகாவலனாக ஆக்கிக் கொள்வீராக.

(அவனே) கிழக்கிற்கும், மேற்கிற்கும் இரட்சகன; அவனைத்தவிர (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய வேறு) நாயன் இல்லை. ஆகவே, அவனையே நீர் (உமது) பொறுப்பாளனாக எடுத்துக் கொள்வீராக.

[He is] Lord of the east and the west; none has the right to be worshiped except Him, so take Him as Disposer of your affairs.

Waisbir AAala ma yaqooloona waohjurhum hajran jameelan

And be patient (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) with what they say, and keep away from them in a good way.

And be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance.

(நபியே!) அவர்கள் (உங்களைப் பற்றிக் குற்றங்குறைகள்) கூறுவதைச் சகித்துக்கொண்டு, கண்ணியமான முறையில் அவர்களை விட்டு விலகி வெறுத்திருங்கள்.

அன்றியும், அவர்கள் (உமக்கெதிராகக்) கூறுவதைப் பொறுத்துக் கொள்வீராக; மேலும், அழகான கண்ணியமான - முறையில் அவர்களை விட்டும் வெறுத்து ஒதுங்கி விடுவீராக.

அன்றியும், (நபியே!) அவர்கள் (உமக்கெதிராகச்) சொல்வதின் மீது நீர் பொறுமையுடன் இருப்பீராக! இன்னும், அழகான வெறுப்பாக அவர்களை (அல்லாஹ்வுக்காக) நீர் வெறுத்து விடுவிராக!

Bear patiently what they say, and avoid them in a gracious manner.

Watharnee waalmukaththibeena olee alnnaAAmati wamahhilhum qaleelan

And leave Me Alone to deal with the deniers (those who deny My Verses), those who are in possession of good things of life. And give them respite for a little while.

And leave Me with [the matter of] the deniers, those of ease [in life], and allow them respite a little.

(நபியே! நீங்கள் அவர்களுக்குச் சிபாரிசு செய்யாது) என்னையும், என்னைப் பொய்யாக்கி வைக்கும் அந்தச் சுகவாசிகளையும் விட்டுவிடுங்கள். அவர்களுக்குச் சிறிது அவகாசமும் கொடுங்கள்.

என்னையும், பொய்ப்பிப்வர்களாகிய அந்தச் சுக வாசிகளையும் விட்டுவிடும்; அவர்களுக்குச் சிறிது அவகாசமும் கொடுப்பீராக.

என்னையும், சுகத்தையுடையவர்களான பொய்ப்பிக்கக் கூடியவர்களையும், நீர் விட்டுவிடுவீராக! (நான் ஏற்படுத்திய தவணையை அவர்கள் அடையும்வரை) அவர்களுக்குச் சிறிது அவகாசமும் கொடுப்பீராக!

Leave to Me the deniers who are having a life of luxury, and bear with them for a little while.

Inna ladayna ankalan wajaheeman

Verily, with Us are fetters (to bind them), and a raging Fire.

Indeed, with Us [for them] are shackles and burning fire

நிச்சயமாக நம்மிடத்தில் (அவர்களுக்கு) விலங்குகளும் இருக்கின்றன; நரகமும் இருக்கின்றது.

நிச்சயமாக நம்மிடத்தில் (அவர்களுக்காக) விலங்குகளும், நரகமும் இருக்கின்றன.

நிச்சயமாக நம்மிடத்தில் (அவர்களுக்காக) விலங்குகளும், நரகமும் இருக்கின்றன.

Indeed, We have heavy shackles and a Blazing Fire,

WataAAaman tha ghussatin waAAathaban aleeman

And a food that chokes, and a painful torment.

And food that chokes and a painful punishment -

விக்கிக் கொள்ளக்கூடிய உணவும் (அவர்களுக்காக) இருக்கின்றது; துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையும் இருக்கின்றது.

(தொண்டையில்) விக்கிக் கொள்ளும் உணவும், நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனையும் இருக்கின்றன.

இன்னும், (அவர்களுக்குத் தொண்டையில்) விக்கிக் கொள்ளக்கூடிய உணவும் துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையும் (இருக்கின்றன).

and food that chokes, and a painful punishment,

Yawma tarjufu alardu waaljibalu wakanati aljibalu katheeban maheelan

On the Day when the earth and the mountains will be in violent shake, and the mountains will be a heap of sand poured out.

On the Day the earth and the mountains will convulse and the mountains will become a heap of sand pouring down.

அந்நாளில், பூமியும் மலைகளும் ஆட்டம் கொடுத்து (ஒன்றோடொன்று மோதி) மலைகள் சிதறுண்ட மண் குவியல்களாகி விடும்.

அந்நாளில் பூமியும், மலைகளும் அதிர்ந்து, மலைகள் சிதறி மணல் குவியல்ககளாகிவிடும்.

பூமியும், மலைகளும் ஆட்டம்கண்டு (அதிலிருப்போரை உலுக்கி,) இன்னும், மலைகள் சிதறுண்ட மண் குவியல்களாகிவிடும் நாளில்-(அவர்களுக்கு நடந்தேறும் வேதனை உண்டு.)

on the Day when the earth and the mountains will convulse, and the mountains will be like dunes of loose sand.

Inna arsalna ilaykum rasoolan shahidan AAalaykum kama arsalna ila firAAawna rasoolan

Verily, We have sent to you (O men) a Messenger (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) to be a witness over you, as We did send a Messenger [Mûsâ (Moses)] to Fir'aun (Pharaoh).

Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness upon you just as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger.

(மனிதர்களே!) நிச்சயமாக நாம் உங்களிடம் நம்முடைய ஒரு தூதரை அனுப்பி வைத்தோம். (மறுமையில்) அவர் உங்களுக்குச் சாட்சியாக வருவார். இவ்வாறே ஃபிர்அவ்னிடமும் முன்னர் ஒரு தூதரை நாம் அனுப்பி வைத்தோம்.

நிச்சயமாக ஃபிர்அவ்னிடம் தூதரை நாம் அனுப்பியது போல், உங்களிடமும், உங்கள் மீது சாட்சி சொல்பவராகிய தூதரை நாம் அனுப்பி வைத்தோம்.

ஃபிர் அவ்னின்பால் நாம் ஒரு தூதரை அனுப்பி வைத்தது போன்று, உங்கள் மீது சாட்சியாளராக ஒரு தூதரை உங்களிடம் நிச்சயமாக நாம் அனுப்பி வைத்தோம்.

Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger to be a witness over you, just as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger.

FaAAasa firAAawnu alrrasoola faakhathnahu akhthan wabeelan

But Fir'aun (Pharaoh) disobeyed the Messenger [Mûsâ (Moses)]; so We seized him with a severe punishment.

But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a ruinous seizure.

எனினும், ஃபிர்அவ்ன் அத்தூதருக்கு மாறு செய்தான். ஆகவே, நாம் அவனைப் பலமாகப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டோம்.

எனினும் ஃபிர்அவ்ன் அத்தூதருக்கு மாறு செய்தான்; எனவே, அவனைக் கடினமான பிடியாக, நாம் பிடித்துக் கொண்டோம்.

பின்னர், ஃபிர் அவ்ன் அத்தூதருக்கு மாறு செய்தான்; ஆகவே, கடினமான பிடியாக அவனை நாம் பிடித்துக்கொண்டோம்.

But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a severe punishment.

Fakayfa tattaqoona in kafartum yawman yajAAalu alwildana sheeban

Then how can you avoid the punishment, if you disbelieve, on a Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) that will make the children grey-headed,

Then how can you fear, if you disbelieve, a Day that will make the children white- haired?

நீங்கள் (இதனை) நிராகரித்துவிட்டால், எவ்வாறு நீங்கள் (நம்முடைய பிடியிலிருந்து) தப்பித்துக் கொள்வீர்கள்? (நாம் பிடிக்கும்) அந்நாளில் (திடுக்கம்) சிறு குழந்தைகளையும் நரைத்தவர்களாக ஆக்கிவிடும்.

எனவே, நீங்கள் நிராகரித்தீர்களானால், குழந்தைகளையும் நரைத்தவர்களாக்கும் அந்த நாளிலிருந்து எவ்வாறு தப்பிக்க போகிறீர்கள்.

நீங்கள் நிராகரித்துவிட்டீர்களானால், குழந்தைகளை நரைத்த கிழவர்களாக ஆக்கிவிடும் நாளில், (நம்முடைய பிடியிலிருந்து தப்பித்து உங்களை) நீங்கள் எவ்வாறு காத்துக் கொள்வீர்கள்?

If you disbelieve, then how will you protect yourselves against a Day that will turn children’s hair gray?

Alssamao munfatirun bihi kana waAAduhu mafAAoolan

Whereon the heaven will be cleft asunder? His Promise is certainly to be accomplished.

The heaven will break apart therefrom; ever is His promise fulfilled.

(அந்நாளில்) வானம் பிளந்துவிடும்; இது நடந்தே தீரவேண்டிய அவனுடைய வாக்குறுதியாகும்.

அதில் வானம் பிளந்து விடும்; அவனுடைய வாக்குறுதி செயல்படுத்தப்படும்.

அ(ந்நாளில் நிகழும் பெரும் அமளியான)தன் காரணமாக வானம் வெடித்துப் போய்விடும், அவனுடைய வாக்கு (சந்தேகமின்றி) செயல்படுத்தப்பட்டதாகிவிடும்.

It will cause the sky to break asunder. His promise will certainly be fulfilled.

Inna hathihi tathkiratun faman shaa ittakhatha ila rabbihi sabeelan

Verily, this is an admonition, therefore whosoever wills, let him take a Path to His Lord!

Indeed, this is a reminder, so whoever wills may take to his Lord a way.

நிச்சயமாக இது மிக்க நல்லுபதேசமாகும். ஆகவே, விரும்பியவர் தன் இறைவனிடம் செல்லக்கூடிய இவ்வழியைப் பிடித்துக்கொள்ளவும்.

நிச்சயமாக இது நினைவூட்டும் நல்லுபதேசமாகும்; ஆகவே எவர் விரும்புகிறாரோ அவர் தம்முடைய இறைவனிடம் (செல்லும் இவ்)வழியை எடுத்துக் கொள்வாராக.  

நிச்சயமாக இது ஒரு உபதேசமாகும், ஆகவே, எவர் நாடுகிறாரோ அவர் தன் இரட்சகனின்பால் (செல்லக்கூடிய) வழியை எடுத்துக் கொள்வார்.

Indeed, this is a reminder; so whoever wills may take a way to his Lord.

Inna rabbaka yaAAlamu annaka taqoomu adna min thuluthayi allayli wanisfahu wathuluthahu wataifatun mina allatheena maAAaka waAllahu yuqaddiru allayla waalnnahara AAalima an lan tuhsoohu fataba AAalaykum faiqraoo ma tayassara mina alqurani AAalima an sayakoonu minkum marda waakharoona yadriboona fee alardi yabtaghoona min fadli Allahi waakharoona yuqatiloona fee sabeeli Allahi faiqraoo ma tayassara minhu waaqeemoo alssalata waatoo alzzakata waaqridoo Allaha qardan hasanan wama tuqaddimoo lianfusikum min khayrin tajidoohu AAinda Allahi huwa khayran waaAAthama ajran waistaghfiroo Allaha inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

Verily, your Lord knows that you do stand (to pray at night) a little less than two-thirds of the night, or half the night, or a third of the night, and also a party of those with you. And Allâh measures the night and the day. He knows that you are unable to pray the whole night, so He has turned to you (in mercy). So, recite you of the Qur'ân as much as may be easy for you. He knows that there will be some among you sick, others travelling through the land, seeking of Allâh's bounty, yet others fighting in Allâh's Cause. So recite as much of the Qur'ân as may be easy (for you), and perform As-Salât (the prayers) and give Zakât (obligatory charity), and lend to Allâh a goodly loan. And whatever good you send before you for yourselves (i.e. Nawâfil – non-obligatory acts of worship: prayers, charity, fasting, Hajj and 'Umrah), you will certainly find it with Allâh, better and greater in reward. And seek forgiveness of Allâh. Verily, Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Indeed, your Lord knows, [O Muhammad], that you stand [in prayer] almost two thirds of the night or half of it or a third of it, and [so do] a group of those with you. And Allah determines [the extent of] the night and the day. He has known that you [Muslims] will not be able to do it and has turned to you in forgiveness, so recite what is easy [for you] of the Qur'an. He has known that there will be among you those who are ill and others traveling throughout the land seeking [something] of the bounty of Allah and others fighting for the cause of Allah. So recite what is easy from it and establish prayer and give zakah and loan Allah a goodly loan. And whatever good you put forward for yourselves - you will find it with Allah. It is better and greater in reward. And seek forgiveness of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

(நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக நீங்களும், உங்களோடு இருப்பவர்களில் ஒரு கூட்டத்தினரும், சற்றேறக்குறைய இரவில் மூன்றில் இரண்டு பாகம் அல்லது பாதி அல்லது மூன்றில் ஒரு பாக நேரம் (இரவில் தொழுகையில்) நின்று வருகின்றீர்கள் என்பதை நிச்சயமாக உங்கள் இறைவன் அறிவான். இரவு பகலைக் கணக்கிட அல்லாஹ்வால்தான் முடியும். நீங்கள் அதனைச் சரிவரக் கணக்கிட முடியாதென்பதை அவன் அறிந்து (இருப்பதனால்தான், இரவில் இன்ன நேரத்தில், இவ்வளவு தொழவேண்டுமெனக் குறிப்பிட்டுக் கூறாது,) உங்களை அவன் மன்னித்து விட்டான். ஆகவே, (இரவில் நீங்கள் தொழுதால்) குர்ஆனில் உங்களுக்குச் சாத்தியமான அளவு ஓதுங்கள். ஏனென்றால், உங்களில் நோயாளிகள் இருக்கக்கூடுமென்பதையும், வேறு சிலர் அல்லாஹ்வின் அரு(ளாகிய பொரு)ளைத் தேடி, பூமியின் பல பாகங்களிலும் செல்ல வேண்டியதிருக்கும் என்பதையும், வேறு சிலர் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய பாதையில் போர் புரியச் செல்ல வேண்டியதிருக்குமென்பதையும் அவன் நன்கறிவான். ஆதலால், (உங்கள் அவகாசத்திற்குத் தக்கவாறு கூட்டியோ குறைத்தோ) உங்களுக்குச் சௌகரியமான அளவே ஓதுங்கள். (ஆயினும்) தொழுகையை (தவறவிடாது) சரியாக நிலை நிறுத்துங்கள். இன்னும் ஜகாத்தும் கொடுத்து வாருங்கள். (பொருள் நெருக்கடியில் சிக்கியவர்களுக்கு) அல்லாஹ்வுக்காக அழகான முறையில் கடனும் கொடுங்கள். நன்மையான காரியங்களில் எவைகளை நீங்கள் உங்களுக்காக, (உங்கள் மரணத்திற்கு முன்னதாகவே) செய்து வைத்துக் கொண்டீர்களோ அவைகளையே, மேலான நன்மை களாகவும் மகத்தான கூலியாகவும் நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில் காண்பீர்கள். (நம்பிக்கையாளர்களே!) நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்விடம் மன்னிப்பையும் கோருங்கள். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் மிக மன்னிப்பவனும், கிருபையுடையவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

நிச்சயமாக நீரும், உம்முடன் இருப்போரில் ஒரு கூட்டத்தாரும் இரவில் மூன்றில் இரு பாகங்களுக்குச் சமீபமாகவோ, இன்னும் அதில் பாதியோ இன்னும் இதில் மூன்றில் ஒரு பாகத்திலோ (வணக்கத்திற்காக) நிற்கிறீர்கள் என்பதை உம்முடைய இறைவன் நிச்சயமாக அறிவான்; அல்லாஹ்வே இரவையும் பகலையும் அளவாகக் கணக்கிடுகின்றான்; அதை நீங்கள் சரியாகக் கணக்கிட்டுக் கொள்ள மாட்டீர்கள் என்பதையும் அவன் அறிகிறான்; ஆகவே, அவன் உங்களுக்கு மன்னிப்பு அளித்து விட்டான். எனவே, நீங்கள் குர்ஆனில் உங்களுக்குச் சுலபமான அளவு ஓதுங்கள். (ஏனெனில்) நோயாளிகளும்; அல்லாஹ்வின் அருளைத் தேடியவாறு பூமியில் செல்லும் வேறு சிலரும், அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையில் போர் செய்யும் மற்றும் சிலரும், உங்களில் இருப்பார்கள் என்பதை அவன் அறிகிறான்; ஆகவே, அதிலிருந்து உங்களுக்குச் சுலபமான அளவே ஓதுங்கள்; தொழுகையை முறையாக நிலை நிறுத்துங்கள்; இன்னும் ஜகாத்தும் கொடுத்து வாருங்கள்; அன்றியும் (தேவைப்படுவோருக்கு) அல்லாஹ்வுக்காக அழகான கடனாக கடன் கொடுங்கள்; நன்மைகளில் எவற்றை நீங்கள் உங்கள் ஆத்மாக்களுக்காச் செய்து (மறுமைக்காக) முற்படுத்துகிறீர்களோ, அவற்றை நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்விடம் மிகவும் மேலானதாகவும், நற்கூலியில் மகத்தானதாகவும் காண்பீர்கள்; அன்றியும் அல்லாஹ்விடமே மன்னிப்புக் கோருங்கள் - நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் மிக்க மன்னிப்பவன், மிக்க கிருபையுடையவன்.

(நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக நீரும், உம்மோடு இருப்போரில் ஒரு கூட்டத்தினரும், இரவில் மூன்றில் இரு பாகங்களைவிட மிகக் குறைவாக, இன்னும், அதில் பாதியில், இன்னும், அதில் மூன்றில் ஒருபாக (நேர)த்தில் (இரவுத் தொழுகைக்காக) நிற்கிறீர்கள் என்பதை நிச்சயமாக உமதிரட்சகன் அறிவான்; இன்னும் இரவையும், பகலையும் அல்லாஹ்தான் நிர்ணயம் செய்து (அதன் நேரங்களை அளவாக அமைத்து)ள்ளான்; நீங்கள் அதனை சரிவரக் கணக்கிடவே முடியாதென்பதை அவன் அறிந்துள்ளான்; ஆகவே, உங்களை அவன் மன்னித்துவிட்டான்; எனவே குர் ஆனிலிருந்து (உங்களுக்கு) இயன்றதை ஓதுங்கள்; (ஏனெனில்,) உங்களில் இரவு வணக்கத்தை விட்டும், அனுமதி பெறும் நோயாளிகளும், அல்லாஹ்வின் பேரருளைத் தேடியவர்களாக பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும் வேறு சிலரும், அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையில் போர் செய்யும் வேறு சிலரும், இருப்பார்கள் என்பதை அவன் அறிந்துளளான்; ஆகவே, அதிலிருந்து இயன்றதை ஓதுங்கள்; மேலும், தொழுகையை முறையாக நிறைவேற்றுங்கள்; ஜகாத்தையும் கொடுங்கள்; அல்லாஹ்விற்கு அழகான கடனாக கடனும் கொடுங்கள்; மேலும், நன்மையிலிருந்து உங்களுக்காக எதை நீங்கள் முற்படுத்துகிறீர்களோ, அது அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில் மிகச் சிறந்ததாகவும், (நற்)கூலியில் மிக மகத்தானதாகவும் அதனை நீங்கள் பெற்றுக் கொள்வீர்கள்; அல்லாஹ்விடம் மன்னிப்பும் தேடுங்கள்; நிச்சயமாக, அல்லாஹ் மிக்க மன்னிக்கிறவன், மிகக் கிருபையுடையவன்.

Indeed, your Lord knows that you [O Prophet] stand up in prayer for nearly two-thirds of the night, or half of it, or one-third of it, as do others among your companions. Allah determines the night and the day; He knows that you [Muslims] cannot keep an accurate count of it, so He pardoned you. Recite then as much of the Qur’an as is easy for you [in the night prayers]. He knows that there are some among you who will be ill, and others traveling in the land, seeking the grace of Allah, and others fighting in Allah’s way. So recite as much of it as is easy for you; establish prayer and give zakah; and lend to Allah a goodly loan. Whatever good you send forth for yourselves, you will find it with Allah, much better in condition and much greater in reward. And seek forgiveness of Allah, for indeed Allah is All-Forgiving, Most-Merciful.
