72 - al-Jinn (The Jinn) .....

Qul oohiya ilayya annahu istamaAAa nafarun mina aljinni faqaloo inna samiAAna quranan AAajaban

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of jinn listened (to this Qur'ân). They said: 'Verily, we have heard a wonderful Recitation (this Qur'ân)!

Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an.

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "வஹ்யி மூலம் எனக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. மெய்யாகவே ஜின்களில் சிலர் (இவ்வேதத்தைச்) செவியுற்று(த் தங்கள் இனத்தார்களிடம் சென்று அவர்களை நோக்கி) "நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் மிக்க ஆச்சரியமான ஒரு குர்ஆனைச் செவியுற்றோம்."

நிச்சயமாக, ஜின்களில் சில (திருக் குர்ஆனை) செவிமடுத்து(த் தம் இனத்தாரிடம் கூறினர்:) “நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள், மிகவும் ஆச்சரியமான ஒரு குர்ஆனை கேட்டோம்” என்று கூறினர், என எனக்கு வஹீ அறிவிக்கப்பட்டதென்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக.

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக! “நிச்சயமாக ஜின்களில் சில நபர்கள், (இவ்வேதத்தைச்) செவியுற்றனர்; பிறகு (தங்கள் இனத்தாரிடம் சென்று,) நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் மிக்க ஆச்சரியமான குர்ஆனை செவியுற்றோம் என்று கூறினார்கள்” என வஹீ மூலம் எனக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.”

Say, “It has been revealed to me that a group of jinn listened [to the Qur’an,] and they said, ‘Indeed, we have heard a wondrous recitation

Yahdee ila alrrushdi faamanna bihi walan nushrika birabbina ahadan

'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allâh).

It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone.

"அது நேரான வழியை அறிவிக்கின்றது. ஆகவே, அதனை நாங்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டோம். (இனி) நாங்கள் எங்கள் இறைவனுக்கு ஒருவனையும் இணையாக்க மாட்டோம்.

“அது நேர்மையின் பால் வழிகாட்டுகிறது; ஆகவே அதைக் கொண்டு நாங்கள் ஈமான் கொண்டோம்; அன்றியும் எங்கள் இறைவனுக்கு ஒருவனையும் நாங்கள் இணையாக்கமாட்டோம்” (என்று அந்த ஜின் கூறலாயிற்று).

“அ(ந்தக் குர் ஆனாகிற)து நேர்வழியின்பால் வழிகாட்டுகிறது; ஆகவே, அதனை நாங்கள் விசுவாசித்தோம்; (இனி) நாங்கள் எங்ளுடைய இரட்சகனுக்கு ஒருவரையும் இணையாக்கவே மாட்டோம்”-

that guides to the right way, so we have believed in it, and we will never associate anyone with our Lord.

Waannahu taAAala jaddu rabbina ma ittakhatha sahibatan wala waladan

'And He, exalted is the Majesty of our Lord, has taken neither a wife nor a son (or offspring or children).

And [it teaches] that exalted is the nobleness of our Lord; He has not taken a wife or a son

நிச்சயமாக எங்கள் இறைவனுடைய மகத்துவம் மிக்க மேலானது. அவன் எவரையும் (தன்னுடைய) மனைவியாகவோ, மக்களாகவோ எடுத்துக் கொள்ளவில்லை" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

“மேலும் எங்கள் இறைவனுடைய மகிமை நிச்சயமாக மிக்க மேலானது; அவன் (எவரையும் தன்) மனைவியாகவோ மகனாகவோ எடுத்துக் கொள்ளவில்லை.

இன்னும், “நிச்சயமாகக் காரியம்: எங்கள் இரட்சகனுடைய மகத்துவம் உயர்ந்துவிட்டது, அவன் மனைவியையோ, புதல்வரையுயோ எடுத்துக் கொள்ளவில்லை” (என்றும் கூறினார்கள்,)

And that He – our exalted and glorified Lord – has neither taken a wife nor a child;

Waannahu kana yaqoolu safeehuna AAala Allahi shatatan

'And that the foolish among us [i.e. Iblîs (Satan) or the polytheists amongst the jinn] used to utter against Allâh that which was an enormity in falsehood.

And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression.

(பின்னும் அவர்கள் கூறியதாவது:) "நிச்சயமாக நம்மிடமுள்ள மடையன் அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது (அவனுடைய பரிசுத்தத் தன்மைக்குத்) தகாத விஷயங்களைக் கூறுகின்றவனாக இருந்தான்."

“ஆனால் நம்மில் மூடராகிவிட்ட (சிலர்) அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது தகாத வார்த்தைகளை சொல்லிக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றனர்.

“மேலும், நிச்சயமாகக் காரியம் நம்மிலுள்ள மடையன் அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது (அவனுக்கு மனைவி மக்கள் உண்டென்று கூறி நிராகரிப்பில் அளவு கடந்து) பொய்யைக் கூறுபவனாக இருந்தான்.”

and that the fool among us [Satan] used to say outrageous things about Allah,

Waanna thananna an lan taqoola alinsu waaljinnu AAala Allahi kathiban

'And verily, we thought that men and jinn would not utter a lie against Allâh.

And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie.

மனிதர்களும், ஜின்களும் நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் மீது பொய் கூறமாட்டார்களென்று மெய்யாகவே (இதுவரையில்) நாங்கள் எண்ணிக் கொண்டு இருந்தோம்.

மேலும் “மனிதர்களும் ஜின்களும் அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது பொய் கூறவே மாட்டார்கள்” என்று நிச்சயமாக நாம் எண்ணிக் கொண்டிருந்தோம்.

இன்னும், “மனிதர்களும், ஜின்களும், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது பொய் கூறவே மாட்டார்களென்று நிச்சயமாக (இதுவரை) நாங்கள் எண்ணிக் கொண்டிருந்தோம்.”

although we thought that humans and jinn would never tell lies about Allah.

Waannahu kana rijalun mina alinsi yaAAoothoona birijalin mina aljinni fazadoohum rahaqan

'And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the males among the jinn, but they (jinn) increased them (mankind) in sin and transgression.

And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden.

மனிதர்களிலுள்ள ஆண்கள் பலர், ஜின்களிலுள்ள பல ஆண்களிடம் மெய்யாகவே (தங்களை) பாதுகாக்கக் கோருகின்றனர். எனவே, மனிதர்கள் அந்த ஜின்களுக்கு கர்வத்தை அதிகரிக்கச் செய்துவிட்டனர்.

“ஆனால், நிச்சயமாக மனிதர்களிலுள்ள ஆடவர்களில் சிலர் ஜின்களிலுள்ள ஆடவர்கள் சிலரிடம் காவல் தேடிக் கொண்டிருந்தனர்; இதனால் அவர்கள், (ஜின்களிலுள்ள அவ்வாடவர்களின்) மமதையை பெருக்கிவிட்டனர்.

“இன்னும், நிச்சயமாக மனிதர்களிலுள்ள ஆண்கள் பலர், ஜின்களிலுள்ள ஆண்கள் பலரிடம் (தங்களைக்) காக்கத் தேடிக் கொண்டிருந்தனர்; இதனால் அவர்கள் அவர்களுக்கு கர்வத்தை அதிகமாக்கி விட்டார்கள்.

And there were some men who used to seek refuge with some jinn, but they only increased them in burden.

Waannahum thannoo kama thanantum an lan yabAAatha Allahu ahadan

'And they thought as you thought, that Allâh will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinn).

And they had thought, as you thought, that Allah would never send anyone [as a messenger].

நீங்கள் எண்ணுகிறபடியே அவர்களும் (இறந்த பின்னர்) அல்லாஹ், ஒருவரையும் (உயிர்கொடுத்து) எழுப்பமாட்டான்" என்று நிச்சயமாக எண்ணிக் கொண்டனர்.

“இன்னும், நிச்சயமாக அவர்களும் நீங்கள் எண்ணியதைப் போலவே, அல்லாஹ் ஒருவரையும் (மறுமையில் உயிர்ப்பித்து) எழுப்பமாட்டான் என்று எண்ணிக் கொண்டு இருந்தனர்.

“மேலும், (இறந்த பின்னர்,) அல்லாஹ் ஒருவரையும் (உயிர்கொடுத்து) எழுப்பவே மாட்டான் என்று நீங்கள் எண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தது போன்றே அவர்களும் நிச்சயமாக எண்ணிக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

They thought, just like you [jinn] thought that Allah would never send any messenger.

Waanna lamasna alssamaa fawajadnaha muliat harasan shadeedan washuhuban

'And we have sought to reach the heaven; but found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires.

And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames.

நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் வானத்தைத் தடவிப் பார்த்தோம். அது பலமான பாதுகாவலர்களாலும், எரி நட்சத்திரங்களாலும் நிரப்பப்பட்டிருப்பதை நாங்கள் கண்டோம்.

“நிச்சயமாக நாம் வானத்தைத் தொட்டுப் பார்த்தோம். அது கடுமையான காவலாளிகளாலும், தீப்பந்தங்களாலும் நிரப்பப்பட்டிருப்பதை, நாங்கள் கண்டோம்.

இன்னும், “நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் வானத்தைத் தொட்டுப் பார்த்தோம், அப்போது வலிமைமிக்க பாதுகாவலர்களாலும், தீப்பந்தங்களாலும் நிரப்பப்பட்டதாக அதை நாங்கள் கண்டோம்.”

We have sought to reach the heaven but found it filled with stern guards and flaming fire.

Waanna kunna naqAAudu minha maqaAAida lilssamAAi faman yastamiAAi alana yajid lahu shihaban rasadan

'And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush.

And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him.

(முன்னர்) அங்கு (நடைபெறும் விஷயங்களைச்) செவியுறக் கூடிய பல இடங்களில் நாங்கள் அமர்ந்திருப்போம். இப்பொழுதோ, (அவைகளைச்) செவியுற எவனேனும் சென்றால், நெருப்பின் ஒரு கங்கு அவனை (அடிப்பதற்காக) எதிர்பார்த்திருப்பதை அவன் காண்பான்.

“(முன்னர் வானில் பேசப்படுவதைச்) செவிமடுப்பதற்காக (அதற்குள்ள சில) இடங்களில் நாங்கள் அமர்ந்திருப்போம்; ஆனால் இப்பொழுதோ எவன் அவ்வாறு செவிமடுக்க முயல்கிறானோ, அவன் தனக்காகக் காத்திருக்கும் தீப்பந்தத்தையே காண்பான்.

“(முன்னர்) அங்கு (பேசப்படுபவற்றைச்) செவியேற்பதற்காக, பல இடங்களில் நாங்கள் அமர்பவர்களாகவும் இருந்தோம், எனவே, இப்பொழுது (அவைகளை) எவர் செவியேற்கிறாரோ அவர், குறிவைத்துக் காத்திருக்கும் நெருப்புப் பந்தத்தை தமக்காக அவர் காண்பார்”

We used to take up positions there for eavesdropping, but now anyone who eavesdrops will find a flaming fire waiting for him.

Waanna la nadree asharrun oreeda biman fee alardi am arada bihim rabbuhum rashadan

'And we know not whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends for them a Right Path.

And we do not know [therefore] whether evil is intended for those on earth or whether their Lord intends for them a right course.

பூமியிலுள்ளவர்களுக்கு (இதனால்) தீங்கு விரும்பப் படுகின்றதோ, அல்லது அவர்களின் இறைவன் (இதனால்) அவர்களுக்கு நன்மையை நாடியிருக்கின்றானோ என்பதை நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் அறியமாட்டோம்.

“அன்றியும், பூமியிலிருப்பவர்களுக்குத் தீங்கு நாடப்பட்டிருக்கிறதா, அல்லது அவர்களுடைய இறைவன் அவர்களுக்கு நன்மையை நாடி இருக்கிறானா என்பதையும் நாங்கள் நிச்சயமாக அறிய மாட்டோம்.

“மேலும், பூமியில் இருப்பவர்களுககு (இதைக்கொண்டு) தீங்கு நாடப்பட்டிருக்கிறதா? அல்லது அவர்களின் இரட்சகன் அவர்களுக்கு நன்மையை நாடியிருக்கின்றானா என்பதை நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் அறியமாட்டோம்.”

We do not know whether evil is intended for those on earth, or their Lord intends good for them.

Waanna minna alssalihoona waminna doona thalika kunna taraiqa qidadan

'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups having different ways (religious sects).

And among us are the righteous, and among us are [others] not so; we were [of] divided ways.

நிச்சயமாக நம்மில் நல்லவர்களும் சிலர் இருக்கின்றனர்; மற்றவர்களும் நம்மில் சிலர் இருக்கின்றனர். நாம் பல பிரிவுகளாகப் பிரிந்துவிட்டோம்.

“மேலும், நிச்சயமாக நம்மில் நல்லோரும் இருக்கின்றனர்; அப்படியல்லாதவர்களும் நம்மில் இருக்கின்றனர்; நாம் பல்வேறு வழிகளையுடையவர்களாகவும் இருந்தோம்.

“நிச்சயமாக நாம்-நம்மில் நல்லோரும் இருக்கின்றனர் அதல்லாதோரும் நம்மில் (சிலர்) இருக்கின்றனர் நாம் பல்வேறு வழிகளையுடையோராகவும் இருந்தோம்.

Among us are some who are righteous and some who are otherwise, for we follow divergent ways.

Wanna thananna an lan nuAAjiza Allaha fee alardi walan nuAAjizahu haraban

'And we think that we cannot escape (the punishment of) Allâh in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight.

And we have become certain that we will never cause failure to Allah upon earth, nor can we escape Him by flight.

நிச்சயமாக நாம் பூமியில் அல்லாஹ்வைத் தோற்கடிக்க முடியாது என்பதையும், (பூமியிலிருந்து) ஓடி அவனை விட்டுத் தப்பித்துக்கொள்ள முடியாது என்பதையும் உறுதியாக அறிந்து கொண்டோம்.

“அன்றியும், நிச்சயமாக நாம் பூமியில் அல்லாஹ்வை இயலாமாலாக்க முடியாது என்பதையும், அவனை விட்டு ஓடி (ஒளிந்து ) கொள்வதாலும் அவனை (எங்கேயும்) இயலாமலாக்க முடியாதென்பதையும், நாம் அறிந்து கொண்டோம்.

“இன்னும், நிச்சயமாக பூமியில் அல்லாஹ்வை நாம் இயலாமையிலாக்கவே முடியாதென்பதையும், (பூமியிலிருந்து அவனைவிட்டும் ஓடியவர்களாக அவனை இயலாமையிலாக்கவே முடியாதென்பதையும், உறுதியாக அறிந்து கொண்டோம்.

We have realized that we can never escape Allah on earth, nor can we ever escape Him by fleeing.

Waanna lamma samiAAna alhuda amanna bihi faman yumin birabbihi fala yakhafu bakhsan wala rahaqan

'And indeed when we heard the Guidance (this Qur'ân), we believed therein (Islâmic Monotheism), and whosoever believes in his Lord shall have no fear, either of a decrease in the reward of his good deeds or an increase in the punishment for his sins.

And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden.

(இந்தக் குர்ஆனிலுள்ள) நேரான வழிகளைச் செவியுற்ற போதே அதனை நாங்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டோம். எவன் தன் இறைவனை நம்பிக்கை கொள்கின்றானோ, அவன் நஷ்டத்தைப் பற்றியும், துன்பத்தைப் பற்றியும் பயப்படமாட்டான்.

“இன்னும், நிச்சயமாக நாம் நேர்வழியை (குர்ஆனை) செவிமடுத்த போது, நாம் அதன் மீது ஈமான் கொண்டோம்.” எனவே எவன் தன் இறைவன் மீது ஈமான் கொள்கிறானோ, அவன் இழப்பைப் பற்றியும், அநீதியைப் பற்றியும் பயப்படமாட்டான்.

“இன்னும், நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் (இந்தக்குர்ஆனாகிய) நேர் வழியைச் செவியுற்றபோது அதனை விசுவாசங்கொண்டோம். ஆகவே, எவர் தன் இரட்சகனை விசுவாசிக்கின்றாரோ அவர், (தன் நன்மையில்) குறைவையும் அநீதத்தையும் பயப்படமாட்டார்.

When we heard the guidance [of the Qur’an], we believed in it. Whoever believes in his Lord will have no fear of curtailment [from his reward] or injustice.

Waanna minna almuslimoona waminna alqasitoona faman aslama faolaika taharraw rashadan

'And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allâh, after listening to this Qur'ân), and of us some are Al-Qâsitûn (disbelievers who deviated from the Right Path).' And whosoever has embraced Islâm (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allâh), then such have sought the Right Path."

And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course.

முற்றிலும் (அவனுக்கு) வழிப்பட்டவர்களும் நிச்சயமாக நம்மில் பலர் இருக்கின்றனர்; வரம்பு மீறியவர்களும் நம்மில் பலர் இருக்கின்றனர். எவர்கள் முற்றிலும் வழிப்படுகின்றார்களோ, அவர்கள்தாம் நேரான வழியைத் தெரிந்து கொண்டவர்கள்.

“இன்னும், நிச்சயமாக, நம்மில் முஸ்லிம்களும் இருக்கின்றனர். நம்மில் அக்கிரமக்காரர்களும் இருக்கின்றனர் - எவர்கள் முஸ்லிம்களாகி (வழிப்பட்டார்களோ) அவர்கள் தாம் நேர்வழியைத் தேடிக் கொண்டனர்.

“(முற்றிலும் அவனுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்த) முஸ்லிம்களும், நிச்சயமாக நம்மில் இருக்கின்றனர் (உண்மையை விட்டுத் திரும்பிய) அநியாயக்காரர்களும் நம்மில் இருக்கின்றனர்; எவர்கள் (முற்றிலும் கீழ்ப்படிந்த) முஸ்லிம்களாகி விடுகின்றார்களோ, அவர்கள் தாம் நேர் வழியைத் தேடிக் கொண்டார்கள்.

Among us are some who are Muslims and some who are deviant. Those who accepted Islam have sought the true guidance,

Waama alqasitoona fakanoo lijahannama hataban

And as for the Qâsitûn (disbelievers who deviated from the Right Path), they shall be firewood for Hell,

But as for the unjust, they will be, for Hell, firewood.'

வரம்பு மீறியவர்களோ, நரகத்தின் எரி கட்டையாகி விட்டனர்" (என்றும் கூறினர்).

“அக்கிரமக்காரர்களோ நரகத்திற்கு எரி விறகாய் விட்டனர்” (என்று அந்த ஜின் கூறிற்று).

“அநியாயக்காரர்களோ நரகத்திற்கு (எரிக்கப்படும்) விறகுகளாகிவிட்டனர்” (என்றும் அந்த ஜின்கள் கூறினர்).

but those who are deviant, they will be fuel for Hell.’”

Waallawi istaqamoo AAala alttareeqati laasqaynahum maan ghadaqan

If they (non-Muslims) had believed in Allâh, and went on the Right Way (i.e. Islâm), We would surely have bestowed on them water (rain) in abundance.

And [Allah revealed] that if they had remained straight on the way, We would have given them abundant provision

(நபியே! இந்த மனிதர்கள்) மார்க்கவழியில் உறுதியாக இருந்தால், தடையின்றியே அவர்களுக்கு தண்ணீரைப் புகட்டிக் கொண்டிருப்போம்.

“(மானிடர்களோ, ஜின்களோ) அவர்கள் (நேர்) வழியின் மீது, உறுதியுடன் நிலைத்து நின்றால், நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்களுக்கு மிக அதிகமாகத் தண்ணீர் புகட்டுவோம்.

(நபியே! மனித, ஜின் இனத்தவர்களாகிய) அவர்கள் (இஸ்லாமிய மார்க்க) வழியின்மீது உறுதியாகவும் (நிலைத்து) இருந்தால் (தடையின்றியே) அவர்களுக்கு அதிகமான தண்ணீரை நாம் புகட்டியிருப்போம் (என எனக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது என்று கூறுவீராக!)

“If they had remained steadfast on the right way, We would have given them abundant rain,

Linaftinahum feehi waman yuAArid AAan thikri rabbihi yaslukhu AAathaban saAAadan

That We might try them thereby. And whosoever turns away from the Reminder of his Lord (i.e. this Qur'ân, – and practise not its laws and orders), He will cause him to enter a severe torment (i.e. Hell).

So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment.

இதில் அவர்களை நாம் சோதிப்போம். ஆகவே, எவன் தன் இறைவனை நினைப்பதையே புறக்கணிக்கின்றானோ அவனைக் கடினமான வேதனையில் அவன் புகுத்திவிடுவான்.

“அதைக் கொண்டு நாம் அவர்களைச் சோதிப்பதற்காக; ஆகவே, எவன் தன் இறைவனை நினைப்பதைப் புறக்கணிக்கிறானோ, அவனைக் கொடிய வேதனையில் அவன் புகுத்தி விடுவான்.

(எவ்வாறு நன்றி செய்கிறார்கள் என) அதில் அவர்களை நாம் சோதிப்பதற்காக; மேலும், எவர் தன் இரட்சகனின் நினைப்பை விட்டும் புறக்கணிக்கின்றாரோ, அவரைக் கடினமான வேதனையில் அவன் புகுத்தி விடுவான்.

as a test for them. But whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will make him suffer an arduous punishment.

Waanna almasajida lillahi fala tadAAoo maAAa Allahi ahadan

And the mosques are for Allâh (Alone), so invoke not anyone along with Allâh.

And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone.

நிச்சயமாக பள்ளிவாசல் (மஸ்ஜிது)களெல்லாம், அல்லாஹ்வை வணங்குவதற்காக உள்ளன. ஆகவே, (அவைகளில்) அல்லாஹ்வுடன் மற்றெவரையும் (பெயர் கூறி) அழைக்காதீர்கள்.

“அன்றியும், நிச்சயமாக மஸ்ஜிதுகள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்காகவே இருக்கின்றன, எனவே, (அவற்றில்) அல்லாஹ்வுடன் (சேர்த்து வேறு) எவரையும் நீங்கள் பிரார்த்திக்காதீர்கள்.

மேலும், நிச்சயமாக மஸ்ஜிதுகள் அல்லாஹ்வின் வணக்கத்திற்கே உரியன; ஆகவே, (அவைகளில்) அல்லாஹ்வுடன் மற்றெவரையும் நீங்கள் (பிரார்த்தித்து) அழைக்க வேண்டாம்.

The mosques are for Allah alone, so do not supplicate anyone along with Allah.

Waannahu lamma qama AAabdu Allahi yadAAoohu kadoo yakoonoona AAalayhi libadan

And when the slave of Allâh (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) stood up invoking Him (his Lord – Allâh) in prayer they (the jinn) just made round him a dense crowd as if sticking one over the other (in order to listen to the Prophet's recitation).

And that when the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass."

நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வுடைய அடியா(ராகிய நம்முடைய தூத)ர், அவனைப் பிரார்த்தனை செய்து தொழ ஆரம்பித்தால், (இதைக் காணும் ஜின்களும், மக்களும் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டுக்) கூட்டம் கூட்டமாக வந்து அவரைச் சூழ்ந்துகொள்கின்றனர்.

“மேலும், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வின் அடியார் அவனைப் பிரார்த்தித்தவராக நின்றபோது, அவர்பால் அவர்கள் கூட்டம் கூட்டமாக (வந்து) நெருங்கிவிடுகின்றனர்.”  

மேலும், நிச்சயமாகக் காரியம் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய அடியாராகிய தூதர், அவனை அழைப்பவராக (தொழுபவராக) நிற்கும்பொழுது; (இதைக் காணும் ஜனங்கள் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டு) கூட்டங்கூட்டமாக (வந்து) அவரை நெருங்கிவிடுகின்றனர்.

Yet when the slave of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they swarmed around him.”

Qul innama adAAoo rabbee wala oshriku bihi ahadan

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "I invoke only my Lord (Allâh Alone), and I associate none as partners along with Him."

Say, [O Muhammad], "I only invoke my Lord and do not associate with Him anyone."

(அவர்களுக்கு நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "நான் பிரார்த்தனை செய்து அழைப்பதெல்லாம் என் இறைவனையே! அவனுக்கு ஒருவரையும் நான் இணையாக்க மாட்டேன்.

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்: “நான் பிரார்த்திப்பதெல்லாம் என்னுடைய இறைவனைத் தான்; அன்றியும், நான் அவனுக்கு எவரையும் இணை வைக்க மாட்டேன்.”

“நான் பிரார்த்தனை செய்து அழைப்பதெல்லாம் என் இரட்சகனையே! அவனுக்கு ஒருவரையும் நான் இணையாக்கமாட்டேன்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக!

Say [O Prophet], “I only supplicate my Lord and I do not associate anyone with Him.”

Qul innee la amliku lakum darran wala rashadan

Say: "It is not in my power to cause you harm, or to bring you to the Right Path."

Say, "Indeed, I do not possess for you [the power of] harm or right direction."

நிச்சயமாக நான் உங்களுக்கு நன்மையோ, தீமையோ செய்ய ஒரு சிறிதும் சக்தியற்றவன்" என்றும் கூறுங்கள்.

கூறுவீராக: “நிச்சயமாக நான் உங்களுக்கு நன்மையோ, தீமையோ, செய்ய சக்தி பெற மாட்டேன்.”

“நிச்சயமாக நான் உங்களுக்குத் தீங்கையோ, நன்மையையோ (செய்ய சக்தி பெறமாட்டேன்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக!

Say, “I have no power to harm or benefit you.”

Qul innee lan yujeeranee mina Allahi ahadun walan ajida min doonihi multahadan

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "None can protect me from Allâh's punishment (if I were to disobey Him), nor can I find refuge except in Him.

Say, "Indeed, there will never protect me from Allah anyone [if I should disobey], nor will I find in other than Him a refuge.

நிச்சயமாக, அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து ஒருவனுமே என்னை பாதுகாக்க முடியாது. அவனையன்றி அண்டும் இடத்தையும் நான் காணமாட்டேன்.

கூறுவீராக: “நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வை விட்டும் ஒருவரும் என்னைப் பாதுகாக்க மாட்டார்; இன்னும், அவனையன்றி ஒதுங்குந் தலத்தையும் நான் காணமுடியாது.

“நிச்சயமாக நான்-என்னை அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து ஒருவரும் காப்பாற்றவே மாட்டார்; அவனையன்றி ஒதுங்குமிடத்தையும் நான் பெற்றுக் கொள்ளவே மாட்டேன்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக!

Say, “None can ever protect me from Allah [if I should disobey Him], nor can I ever find a refuge other than Him.

Illa balaghan mina Allahi warisalatihi waman yaAAsi Allaha warasoolahu fainna lahu nara jahannama khalideena feeha abadan

"(Mine is) but conveyance (of the truth) from Allâh and His Messages (of Islâmic Monotheism), and whosoever disobeys Allâh and His Messenger, then verily, for him is the fire of Hell, he shall dwell therein forever."

But [I have for you] only notification from Allah, and His messages." And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger - then indeed, for him is the fire of Hell; they will abide therein forever.

ஆயினும், அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து (எனக்குக் கிடைத்த) அவனுடைய தூதை எடுத்துரைப்பதைத் தவிர (எனக்கு வேறு வழியில்லை.) ஆகவே, எவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கும், அவனுடைய தூதருக்கும் மாறு செய்கின்றார்களோ, அவர்களுக்கு நிச்சயமாக நரக நெருப்புத்தான் (கூலியாகும்). அதில் அவர்கள் என்றென்றுமே தங்கி விடுவார்கள்.

“அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து (வருவதை) எடுத்துச் சொல்வதும், அவனுடைய தூதுவத்துவத்தையும் தவிர (எனக்கு வேறில்லை) எனவே, எவர் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கும் அவனுடைய தூதருக்கும் மாறு செய்கிறாரோ அவருக்கு நிச்சயமாக நரக நெருப்புத்தான். அதில் அவர் என்றென்றும் இருப்பார்” என (நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்.

“(ஆயினும்,) அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து (எனக்குக் கிடைத்ததை) எத்தி வைப்பதையும், அவனின் தூதுச் செய்திகளை (அறிவிப்பதை)யும் தவிர (வேறெதற்கும் நான் சக்தி பெற மாட்டேன்). எவர் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கும், அவனுடைய தூதருக்கும் மாறு செய்கின்றாரோ, நிச்சயமாக அவருக்கு (க்கூலி) நரக நெருப்புதான். அவர்கள் அதில் என்றென்றும் நிரந்தரமாக (த்தங்கி) இருப்பவர்கள்” (என்று நபியே! நீர் கூறுவீராக!)

I only convey what I receive from Allah and His messages.” And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger will certainly be in the Fire of Hell, abiding therein forever.

Hatta itha raaw ma yooAAadoona fasayaAAlamoona man adAAafu nasiran waaqallu AAadadan

Till, when they see that which they are promised, then they will know who it is that is weaker concerning helpers and less important concerning numbers.

[The disbelievers continue] until, when they see that which they are promised, then they will know who is weaker in helpers and less in number.

பயமுறுத்தப்பட்ட வேதனையை அவர்கள் (கண்ணால்) காணும் சமயத்தில், எவனுடைய உதவியாளர்கள், மிக்க பலவீனமானவர்கள் என்பதையும் (எவருடைய உதவியாளர்) மிக்க குறைந்த தொகையினர் என்பதையும் சந்தேகமின்றி அறிந்து கொள்வார்கள்.

அவர்களுக்கு வாக்களிக்கப்பட்டதை (வேதனையை) அவர்கள் பார்க்கும் போது, எவருடைய உதவியாளர்கள் மிக பலஹீனமானவர்கள் என்பதையும்; எண்ணிக்கையில் மிகக் குறைந்தவர்கள் என்பதையும் விரைவில் அறிந்து கொள்வார்கள்.

முடிவாக அவர்களுக்கு வாக்களிக்கப்பட்ட (வேதனையான)தை அவர்கள் காணும் சமயத்தில், உதவி பெறுவதால் மிகப் பலவீனமானவரும் எண்ணிக்கையால் மிகக் குறைந்தவரும் யார் என்பதை (உறுதியாக) அறிந்து கொள்வார்கள்.

Until when they see what they were promised, they will realize who is weaker in helpers and fewer in number.

Qul in adree aqareebun ma tooAAadoona am yajAAalu lahu rabbee amadan

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "I know not whether (the punishment) which you are promised is near or whether my Lord will appoint for it a distant term.

Say, "I do not know if what you are promised is near or if my Lord will grant for it a [long] period."

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "உங்களுக்குப் பயமுறுத்தப்படும் வேதனை சமீபத்தில் இருக்கின்றதா? அல்லது எனதிறைவன் அதற்குத் தவணை ஏற்படுத்தி இருக்கின்றானா என்பதை நான் அறியமாட்டேன்.

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்: “உங்களுக்கு வாக்களிக்கப்பட்டிருப்பது (அவ்வேதனை) சமீபமா, அல்லது என்னுடைய இறைவன் அதற்குத் தவணை ஏற்படுத்தியிருக்கிறானா என்பதை நான் அறியேன்.

“நீங்கள் வாக்களிக்கப்படுகின்ற (அவ்வேதனையான)து மிகச் சமீபத்திலிருக்கின்றதா?” அல்லது என் இரட்சகன், அதற்குத் தவணையை ஆக்குவானா? என்பதை நான் அறியமாட்டேன்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக!

Say, “I do not know if what you are promised is near or my Lord has appointed a distant time for it.

AAalimu alghaybi fala yuthhiru AAala ghaybihi ahadan

"(He Alone is) the All-Knower of the Ghaib (Unseen), and He reveals to none His Ghaib (Unseen)."

[He is] Knower of the unseen, and He does not disclose His [knowledge of the] unseen to anyone

அவன்தான் மறைவான இவ்விஷயங்களையெல்லாம் நன்கறிந்தவன். மறைவாக உள்ள இவ்விஷயங்களை அவன் ஒருவருக்கும் வெளிப்படுத்துவதும் இல்லை.

“(அவன் தான்) மறைவானாவற்றை அறிந்தவன்; எனவே, தான் மறைத்திருப்பவற்றை அவன் எவருக்கும் வெளியாக்கமாட்டான்.

“(என் இரட்சகனாகிய அவன்) மறைவானவற்றை அறிகிறவன்; எனவே தான் மறைத்திருப்பவற்றை ஒருவருக்கும் அவன் வெளிப்படுத்தமாட்டான்-

[He is] Knower of the unseen, He does not reveal His unseen to anyone,

Illa mani irtada min rasoolin fainnahu yasluku min bayni yadayhi wamin khalfihi rasadan

Except to a Messenger (from mankind) whom He has chosen (He informs him of the Unseen as much as He likes), and then He makes a band of watching guards (angels) to march before him and behind him.

Except whom He has approved of messengers, and indeed, He sends before each messenger and behind him observers

ஆயினும், (தன்னுடைய) தூதர்களில் எவர்களைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தானோ அவர்களுக்கு (அதனை அவன் அறிவிக்கக் கூடும். அதனை அவன் அவர்களுக்கு அறிவித்த சமயத்தில்) நிச்சயமாக அவன் அவர்களுக்கு முன்னும் பின்னும் (ஒரு மலக்கைப்) பாதுகாப்பவராக அனுப்பி வைக்கின்றான்.

“தான் பொருந்திக் கொண்ட தூதருக்குத் தவிர - எனவே அவருக்கு முன்னும், அவருக்குப் பின்னும் பாதுகாவலர்க(ளான மலக்குக)ளை நிச்சயமாக நடத்தாட்டுகிறான்.

“தூதரில், தான் (தேர்வு செய்து) பொருந்திக்கொண்டவருக்கே தவிர- ஆகவே, நிச்சயமாக அவன் (தூதராகிய) அவருக்கு முன்னும், அவருக்குப் பின்னும் பாதுகாப்பவரை (மலக்குகளிலிருந்து) ஆக்குகிறான்.

except the messenger whom He chooses, then He appoints angel-guards before him and behind him

LiyaAAlama an qad ablaghoo risalati rabbihim waahata bima ladayhim waahsa kulla shayin AAadadan

[He (Allâh) protects them (the Messengers)], till He sees that they (the Messengers) have conveyed the Messages of their Lord (Allâh). And He (Allâh) surrounds all that which is with them, and He (Allâh) keeps count of all things (i.e. He knows the exact number of everything).

That he may know that they have conveyed the messages of their Lord; and He has encompassed whatever is with them and has enumerated all things in number.

(அத்தூதர்கள்) தங்கள் இறைவனின் தூதை மெய்யாகவே எத்தி வைத்தார்கள் என்பதை, தான் அறிந்து கொள்வதற்காக (அவ்வாறு பாதுகாப்பாளரை அனுப்புகின்றான்). அவர்களிடம் உள்ளவைகளை அவன் தன் ஞானத்தால் சூழ்ந்தறிந்து கொண்டிருப்பதுடன், ஒவ்வொரு பொருளின் கணக்கையும் முழுமையாக அறிந்தவனாக இருக்கின்றான்.

“தங்களுடைய இறைவனின் தூதுச் செய்திகளை, திட்டமாக எடுத்துச் சொல்லிவிட்டார்களா? என்று அறிவதற்காக - இன்னும் அவர்களிடமுள்ளவற்றை அவன் சூழ்ந்தறிந்து கொண்டிருப்பதுடன், அவன் சகல பொருளையும் எண்ணிக்கையால் மட்டுப்படுத்தி இருக்கிறான்.”

(அத்தூதர்கள்) தங்கள் இரட்சகனின் தூதுச் செய்திகளை, திட்டமாகவே எடுத்துரைத்தார்கள் என்பதை, தான் அறிந்து கொள்வதற்காக அவர்களிடமுள்ளவற்றை அவன் (தன் அறிவால்) சூழ்ந்தறிந்து கொண்டவனாக இருக்க, ஒவ்வொரு பொருளையும் எண்ணிக்கையால் பூரணமாகக் கணக்கிட்டும் வைத்துள்ளான்.

to ensure that the messengers fully conveyed the messages of their Lord. He encompasses in His knowledge all about them, and keeps count of all things.”
