71 - Nuh (Noah)

Inna arsalna noohan ila qawmihi an anthir qawmaka min qabli an yatiyahum AAathabun aleemun

Verily, We sent Nûh (Noah) to his people (saying): "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful torment."

Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment."

நிச்சயமாக, நாம் நூஹை அவருடைய மக்களிடம் (நம்முடைய) தூதராக அனுப்பிவைத்து, (அவரை நோக்கி) "நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய மக்களுக்குத் துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனை வருவதற்கு முன்னதாகவே, அவர்களுக்கு அதனைப் பற்றி அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்யுங்கள்" என்று கட்டளையிட்டோம்.

நிச்சயமாக நாம் நூஹை, அவருடைய சமூகத்தாரிடம்: “நீர் உம் சமூகத்தாருக்கு நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனை அவர்கள் மீது வருவதற்கு முன்னர் (அதுபற்றி) அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்வீராக” என (ரஸூலாக) அனுப்பினோம்.

நிச்சயமாக, நாம் நூஹை அவருடைய சமூகத்தவரின்பால் “துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனை அவர்களுக்கு வரும் முன், உம்முடைய சமூகத்தினருக்கு அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்வீராக!” என்று (தூதராக) நாம் அனுப்பி வைத்தோம்.

Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, “Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment.”

Qala ya qawmi innee lakum natheerun mubeenun

He said: "O my people! Verily, I am a plain warner to you,

He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner,

(அவரும் அவ்வாறே அவர்களை நோக்கி) "என்னுடைய மக்களே! நிச்சயமாக நான் உங்களுக்குப் பகிரங்கமாகவே அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்கின்றேன்" என்றும்,

“என் சமூகத்தார்களே! நிச்சயமாக நான் உங்களுக்கு பகிரங்கமாக அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவன்” என்று கூறினார்.

“என்னுடைய சமூகத்தினரே! நிச்சயமாக நான் உங்களுக்குப் பகிரங்கமாக அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவன்” என்று (அவர்களிடம்) கூறினார்.

He said: “O my people, indeed I am a clear warner to you,

Ani oAAbudoo Allaha waittaqoohu waateeAAooni

"That you should worship Allâh (Alone), fear (be dutiful to) Him, and obey me,

[Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me.

"அல்லாஹ் ஒருவனையே நீங்கள் வணங்குங்கள். அவனுக்கே நீங்கள் பயப்படுங்கள். எனக்கு நீங்கள் கட்டுப்பட்டு நடங்கள்" என்றும்,

“அல்லாஹ்வையே நீங்கள் வணங்குங்கள்; அவனுக்கு அஞ்சிக் கொள்ளுங்கள்; எனக்கும் வழிபடுங்கள்.

“அல்லாஹ்வை (அவன் ஒருவனையே) நீங்கள் வணங்குங்கள், இன்னும், அவனை நீங்கள் பயந்து கொள்ளுங்கள், எனக்கும் நீங்கள் கீழ்ப்படிந்து நடங்கள்”.

that you worship Allah and fear Him, and obey me;

Yaghfir lakum min thunoobikum wayuakhkhirkum ila ajalin musamman inna ajala Allahi itha jaa la yuakhkharu law kuntum taAAlamoona

"He (Allâh) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allâh when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but know."

Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' "

"(அவ்வாறு நீங்கள் நடந்தால், அல்லாஹ்) உங்களுடைய குற்றங்களை மன்னித்து, குறிப்பிட்ட காலம் வரையில் உங்களை (அமைதியாக வாழ) விட்டுவைப்பான். நிச்சயமாக (வேதனைக்காகக் குறிப்பிடப்பட்ட) அல்லாஹ்வுடைய தவணை வரும் சமயத்தில், அது ஒரு சிறிதும் பிந்தாது என்றும் (இதனை) நீங்கள் உறுதியாக நம்ப வேண்டாமா?" என்றும் கூறினார்.

“(இவ்வாறு நீங்கள் நடந்தால்) உங்களுடைய பாவங்களை அவன் மன்னிப்பான்; மேலும் ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட தவணைவரை அவன் உங்களுக்கு அவகாசமளிப்பான்; நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வின் தவணை வரும்போது, அது பிற்படுத்தப்படமாட்டாது - (இதை) நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொண்டவர்களாக இருந்தால்” (என்றும் கூறினார்).

“(அவ்வாறு நீங்கள் நடந்தால்) உங்களுடைய குற்றங்களை உங்களுக்கு அவன் மன்னிப்பான், இன்னும், குறிப்பிடப்பட்ட காலம் வரையில் உங்களை (அமைதியாக வாழவிட்டு)ப் பிற்ப்படுத்தி வைப்பான், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வுடைய தவணை-அது வந்துவிடுமானால் அது பிற்படுத்தப்படமாட்டாது, (இதனை) நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொண்டவர்களாக இருந்தால்” (என்றும் கூறினார்).

He will forgive you some of your sins and grant you respite until an appointed term. Indeed, when Allah’s appointed term comes, it cannot be delayed, if you only knew!”

Qala rabbi innee daAAawtu qawmee laylan wanaharan

He said: "O my Lord! Verily, I have called to my people night and day (i.e. secretly and openly to accept the doctrine of Islâmic Monotheism),

He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day.

(அவ்வாறு அவர் எவ்வளவோ காலம் கூறியும் அவர்கள் அதனை மறுத்து அவரைப் புறக்கணித்துவிடவே, அவர் தன் இறைவனை நோக்கி) "என் இறைவனே! நிச்சயமாக நான் என்னுடைய மக்களை இரவு பகலாக அழைத்தேன்.

பின்னர் அவர்: “என் இறைவா! நிச்சயமாக, நான் என் சமூகத்தாரை இரவிலும், பகலிலும் (நேர்வழியின்பால்) அழைத்தேன்.

(அவர் நீண்ட காலம் ஏகத்துவப்பிரச்சாரம் செய்தும் அவரைப் புறக்கணித்து விடவே,) “என் இரட்சகனே! நிச்சயமாக நான் என்னுடைய சமூகத்தாரை (உன் வழியில்) இரவிலும், பகலிலும் அழைத்தேன்” என்று கூறினார்.

He said, “My Lord, I have surely called my people night and day,

Falam yazidhum duAAaee illa firaran

"But all my calling added nothing but to (their) flight (from the truth).

But my invitation increased them not except in flight.

வெருண்டோடுவதையே தவிர, (வேறொன்றையும்) என்னுடைய அழைப்பு அவர்களுக்கு அதிகப்படுத்தவில்லை.

“ஆனால் என் அழைப்பு அவர்கள் (நேர்வழியிலிருந்து) வெருண்டு ஓடுதலை அதிகரித்ததல்லாமல் வேறில்லை.

“அப்போது என்னுடைய அழைப்பு, அவர்களுக்கு வெருண்டோடுவதையே அன்றி, (வேறொன்றையும்) அதிகப்படுத்தவில்லை

but my call only drove them further away.

Wainnee kullama daAAawtuhum litaghfira lahum jaAAaloo asabiAAahum fee athanihim waistaghshaw thiyabahum waasarroo waistakbaroo istikbaran

"And verily, every time I called to them that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, and persisted (in their refusal), and magnified themselves in pride.

And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance.

நீ அவர்களுக்கு மன்னிப்பளிக்க (உன் பக்கம்) நான் அவர்களை அழைத்தபோதெல்லாம், தங்களுடைய காதுகளில் தங்களுடைய விரல்களைப் புகுத்தி அடைத்துக்கொண்டு, (என்னைப் பார்க்காது) தங்கள் ஆடைகளைக் கொண்டும் தங்களை மறைத்துக் கொண்டார்கள். பெரும் அகங்காரம் கொண்டு, (தங்கள் தவறின் மீதே பிடிவாதமாக) நிலைத்திருந்தார்கள்.

“அன்றியும்: நீ அவர்களுக்கு மன்னிப்பு அளிப்பதற்காக, (உன் பக்கம்) நிச்சயமாக அவர்களை நான் அழைத்தபோதெல்லாம், தம் காதுகளில் தம் விரல்களை வைத்துக் கொண்டனர்; மேலும், தங்களைத் தம் ஆடைகளைக் கொண்டு மூடிக் கொண்டனர், அன்றியும், அவர்கள் (தம் வழிகேட்டில்) பிடிவாதமாகவும்; பெரும் மமதை பெருமையடித்துக் கொள்வோராகவுமே இருக்கிறார்கள்.

மேலும், நிச்சயமாக நான்-“அவர்களுக்கு நீ மன்னிப்பளிப்பதற்காக (உன்பால்) நான் அவர்களை அழைத்த பொழுதெல்லாம் (அதைக்கேட்காதிருக்க) தங்களுடைய காதுகளில் தங்களுடைய விரல்களை விட்டுக்கொண்டார்கள், (என்னைப் பார்க்காதிருக்க) தங்கள் ஆடைகளைக் கொண்டு தங்(களின் முகங்க)ளை மூடிக்கொண்டுமிருந்தனர், மேலும், (தங்கள் தவறின் மீதே பிடிவாதமாக) நிலைத்திருந்தனர், பெரும் அகந்தையாகவும் அகந்தை கொண்டனர்.

Every time I call them so that You may forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears and cover their faces with their garments, and persist in obstinacy and grow extremely arrogant.

Thumma innee daAAawtuhum jiharan

"Then verily, I called to them openly (aloud).

Then I invited them publicly.

பின்னும் நிச்சயமாக நான் அவர்களைச் சப்தமிட்டு (அதட்டியும்) அழைத்தேன்.

“பின்னர், நிச்சயமாக நான் அவர்களை சப்தமாக அழைத்(தும் போதித்)தேன்.

“பின்னும், நிச்சயமாக நான் அவர்களைச் சப்தமாக அழைத்தேன்”

Then I called them openly,

Thumma innee aAAlantu lahum waasrartu lahum israran

"Then verily, I proclaimed to them in public, and I have appealed to them in private.

Then I announced to them and [also] confided to them secretly

அன்றி, நான் அவர்களுக்குப் பகிரங்கமாகவும் கூறினேன்; இரகசியமாகவும் அவர்களுக்குக் கூறினேன்.

“அதன் பின்னர், நிச்சயமாக நான் அவர்களிடம் பகிரங்கமாகவும் பேசினேன்; இரகசியமாக அந்தரங்கத்திலும் பேசினேன்.

“பின்னும் நிச்சயமாக நான் அவர்களுக்கு (அழைப்பை) பகிரங்கப்படுத்தினேன், அவர்களுக்கு (எனது பிரச்சாரத்தை) மறைமுகமாக மறைத்தும் செய்தேன்.

then I addressed them in public and in private,

Faqultu istaghfiroo rabbakum innahu kana ghaffaran

"I said (to them): 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord, verily, He is Oft-Forgiving;

And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver.

"உங்கள் இறைவனிடம் மன்னிப்பைக் கோருங்கள். நிச்சயமாக அவன் மிக்க மன்னிப்புடையவன்" என்றும் கூறினேன்.

மேலும், “நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய இறைவனிடம் மன்னிப்புத் தேடுங்கள்; நிச்சயமாக அவன் மிகவும் மன்னிப்பவன்” என்றுங் கூறினேன்.

ஆகவே, (முந்திய உங்கள் பாவங்களுக்காக) “உங்கள் இரட்சகனிடம் மன்னிப்புத் தேடுங்கள், நிச்சயமாக அவன் மிக்க மன்னிப்பவனாக இருக்கிறான்” என்றும் கூறினேன்.

I said, ‘Seek forgiveness from your Lord. Indeed, He is Most Forgiving.

Yursili alssamaa AAalaykum midraran

'He will send rain to you in abundance,

He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers

(அவ்வாறு செய்வீர்களாயின், தடைப்பட்டிருக்கும்) மழையை உங்களுக்குத் தொடர்ச்சியாக அனுப்புவான்.

“(அப்படிச் செய்வீர்களாயின்) அவன் உங்கள் மீது தொடர்ந்து மழையை அனுப்புவான்.

“(அவ்வாறு செய்வீர்களாயின், தடைப்பட்டிருக்கும்) மழையை உங்களுக்குத் தொடர்ச்சியாக அனுப்புவான்”

He will shower you with abundant rain from the sky,

Wayumdidkum biamwalin wabaneena wayajAAal lakum jannatin wayajAAal lakum anharan

'And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers.' "

And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers.

பொருள்களையும், மக்களையும் கொடுத்து, உங்களுக்கு உதவி புரிவான்; உங்களுக்குத் தோட்டங்களையும் உற்பத்தி செய்து, அவற்றில் ஆறுகளையும் ஓட்டி வைப்பான்.

“அன்றியும் அவன் உங்களுக்குப் பொருள்களையும், புதல்வர்களையும் கொண்டு உதவி செய்வான்; இன்னும், உங்களுக்காகத் தோட்டங்களை உண்டாக்குவான்; உங்களுக்காக ஆறுகளையும் (பெருக்கெடுத்து ஓடுமாறு) உண்டாக்குவான்.

“செல்வங்களையும், ஆண் மக்களையும் (கொடுப்பது) கொண்டு, உங்களுக்கு உதவி புரிவான், உங்களுக்காகத் தோட்டங்களையும் ஆக்குவான், உங்களுக்காக ஆறுகளையும் (அவற்றில்) ஆக்குவான்”

and He will give you wealth and children, and bestow upon you gardens and rivers.

Ma lakum la tarjoona lillahi waqaran

What is the matter with you, that [you fear not Allâh (His punishment), and] you hope not for reward (from Allâh or you believe not in His Oneness).

What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur

உங்களுக்கென்ன நேர்ந்தது? அல்லாஹ்வின் மகத்துவத்தை நீங்கள் நம்பவில்லை!

“உங்களுக்கு என்ன நேர்ந்தது? அல்லாஹ்வின் மகத்துவத்தை(யும், மேன்மையையும்) நீங்கள் உணராமலிருக்கின்றீர்கள்.

“அல்லாஹ்வின் மகத்துவத்தை நீங்கள் அறிந்து (அவனைப்பயந்து) கொள்ளாமலிருக்க உங்களுக்கென்ன நேர்ந்தது?”

What is the matter with you that you do not fear the Majesty of Allah,

Waqad khalaqakum atwaran

While He has created you in (different) stages [i.e. first Nutfah, then 'Alaqah and then Mudghah, see (V.23:13,14)].

While He has created you in stages?

உங்களை விதவிதமாகவும் அவன் படைத்திருக்கின்றான்.

“நிச்சயமாக அவன் உங்களை பல நிலைகளிலிருந்து படைத்தான்.

பல நிலைகளிலும் உங்களை அவன் நிச்சயமாகப் படைத்தான்.

when He has created you in stages?

Alam taraw kayfa khalaqa Allahu sabAAa samawatin tibaqan

See you not how Allâh has created the seven heavens one above another?

Do you not consider how Allah has created seven heavens in layers

ஏழு வானங்களையும், அடுக்கடுக்காக எவ்வாறு அல்லாஹ் படைத்திருக்கின்றான் என்பதை நீங்கள் கவனிக்கவில்லையா?

“ஏழு வானங்களையும் அல்லாஹ் அடுக்கடுக்காய் எப்படிப் படைத்திருக்கின்றான் என்பதை நீங்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா,

“ஏழு வானங்களை, அடுக்கடுக்காக அல்லாஹ் எவ்வாறு படைத்திருக்கிறான் என்பதை நீங்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா,”

Do you not see how Allah has created seven heavens, one above another,

WajaAAala alqamara feehinna nooran wajaAAala alshshamsa sirajan

And has made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp?

And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp?

அவனே, அவைகளில் சந்திரனைப் பிரதிபலிக்கும் வெளிச்சமாகவும், சூரியனை ஒளி விளக்காகவும் அமைத்தான்.

“இன்னும் அவற்றில் சந்திரனைப் பிரகாசமாகவும், சூரியனை ஒளிவிளக்காகவும் அவனே ஆக்கியிருக்கின்றான்.

“இன்னும், அவற்றில் சந்திரனைப் பிரகாசமாகவும், சூரியனை ஒளிவிளக்காகவும் அவனே ஆக்கியிருக்கிறான்.”

and has placed the moon therein as a light and the sun as a burning lamp?

WaAllahu anbatakum mina alardi nabatan

And Allâh has brought you forth from the (dust of) earth. (Tafsir At-Tabarî)

And Allah has caused you to grow from the earth a [progressive] growth.

அல்லாஹ்வே உங்களை (ஒரு செடியைப் போல்) பூமியில் வளரச் செய்தான் (வெளிப்படுத்தினான்).

“அல்லாஹ்வே உங்களை பூமியிலிருந்து சிறந்த முறையில் உருவாக்கினான்.

மேலும், “அல்லாஹ் உங்களை(ப்புற் பூண்டுகளைப்போல்) பூமியின் மண்ணிலிருந்து உற்பத்தி செய்வதாக உறபத்தி செய்தான்.”

Allah has produced you from the earth like a plant,

Thumma yuAAeedukum feeha wayukhrijukum ikhrajan

Afterwards He will return you into it (the earth), and bring you forth (again on the Day of Resurrection).

Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction.

பின்னும், அதில்தான் உங்களை (மரணிக்கும்படி செய்து, அதில்) சேர்த்து விடுவான். (அதிலிருந்தே) மற்றொரு முறையும் உங்களை வெளிப்படுத்துவான்.

“பின்னர் அந்த பூமியிலேயே உங்களை மீண்டும் சேர்த்து, மற்றொருமுறை உங்களை (அதிலிருந்து) வெளிப்படுத்துவான்.

“பின்னர் அதில் உங்களை (மரணிக்கச் செய்து) அவன் மீளவைப்பான், மேலும், (அதிலிருந்தே) உங்களை வெளிப்படுத்துவதாக அவன் வெளிப்படுத்துவான்.

then He will return you into it, and then will bring you out again.

WaAllahu jaAAala lakumu alarda bisatan

And Allâh has made for you the earth a wide expanse.

And Allah has made for you the earth an expanse

அல்லாஹ்வே உங்களுக்குப் பூமியை விரிப்பாக அமைத்தான்.

“அன்றியும், அல்லாஹ், உங்களுக்காக பூமியை விரிப்பாக ஆக்கினான்.

“அன்றியும் அல்லாஹ் உங்களுக்குப் பூமியை விரிப்பாக ஆக்கினான்”.

Allah has made the earth wide spread for you

Litaslukoo minha subulan fijajan

That you may go about therein in broad roads.

That you may follow therein roads of passage.' "

அதில் (பல பாகங்களுக்கும்) நீங்கள் செல்வதற்காக, விரிவான பாதைகளையும் அமைத்தான்" (என்றெல்லாம் அவர்கள் தன் மக்களுக்குக் கூறினார்)."

“அதில் நீங்கள் செல்வதற்காக விசாலமான பாதைகளையும் அமைத்தான்” (என்றும் போதித்தார்).  

“அதில் உள்ள விரிவான பாதைகளில் நீங்கள் செல்லும் பொருட்டு” (என்றெல்லாம் தன் சமூகத்தாரிடம் கூறினார்.)

so that you may tread its spacious paths.’”

Qala noohun rabbi innahum AAasawnee waittabaAAoo man lam yazidhu maluhu wawaladuhu illa khasaran

Nûh (Noah) said: "My Lord! They have disobeyed me, and followed one whose wealth and children give him no increase but loss.

Noah said, "My Lord, indeed they have disobeyed me and followed him whose wealth and children will not increase him except in loss.

(பின்னும் நூஹ் நபி தன் இறைவனை நோக்கி) "என் இறைவனே! நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் எனக்கு மாறு செய்கின்றனர். தவிர, பொருள்களும் சந்ததிகளும் எவர்களுக்கு நஷ்டத்தை தவிர வேறு எதையும் அதிகப்படுத்தவில்லையோ, அவர்களையே பின்பற்றுகின்றனர்.

நூஹ் கூறினார்: “என் இறைவா! நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் எனக்கு மாறு செய்கின்றனர்; அன்றியும், எவர்களுக்கு அவர் பொருளும், அவர் மக்களும் நஷ்டத்தையன்றி (வேறு எதையும்) அதிகரிக்கவில்லையோ, அ(த்தகைய)வர்களையே அவர்கள் பின்பற்றுகின்றனர்.

(பின்னும்) நூஹ் கூறினார், “என் இரட்சகனே! நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் என(து கட்டளை)க்கு மாறு செய்து விட்டனர், அன்றியும், எவருக்கு அவருடைய செல்வமும், அவருடைய மக்களும் நஷ்டத்தைத்தவிர வேறு எதையும் அதிகப்படுத்தவில்லையோ, அவரையே அவர்கள் பின்பற்றினர்”.

Noah said, “My Lord, they have disobeyed me and followed those whose wealth and children did not increase them except in loss.

Wamakaroo makran kubbaran

"And they have plotted a mighty plot.

And they conspired an immense conspiracy.

பெரும் பெரும் சூழ்ச்சிகளையும் (எனக்குச்) செய்கின்றனர்.

“மேலும் (எனக்கெதிராகப்) பெரும் சூழ்ச்சியாகச் சூழ்ச்சி செய்கின்றனர்.”

“மேலும், மிகப் பெரிய சூழ்ச்சியாக அவர்கள் சூழ்ச்சி செய்தனர்”.

They have contrived a mighty plot,

Waqaloo la tatharunna alihatakum wala tatharunna waddan wala suwaAAan wala yaghootha wayaAAooqa wanasran

"And they have said: 'You shall not leave your gods, nor shall you leave Wadd, nor Suwâ', nor Yaghûth, nor Ya'ûq, nor Nasr' (these are the names of their idols).

And said, 'Never leave your gods and never leave Wadd or Suwa' or Yaghuth and Ya'uq and Nasr.

(மற்றவர்களை நோக்கி) நீங்கள் உங்கள் தெய்வங்களை விட்டு விடாதீர்கள். "வத்" (என்னும் விக்கிரகத்)தையும் விடாதீர்கள். "ஸுவாஉ" "எகூஸ்" "யஊக்" "நஸ்ர்" (ஆகிய விக்கிரகங்)களையும் விட்டுவிடாதீர்கள்" என்று கூறி,

மேலும் அவர்கள்: “உங்கள் தெய்வங்களை விட்டுவிடாதீர்கள்; இன்னும் வத்து, ஸுவாஉ, யகூஸு, யஊக், நஸ்ரு ஆகியவற்றை நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் விட்டுவிடாதீர்கள்” என்றும் சொல்கின்றனர்.

“மேலும், அவர்கள் (தம் சமூகத்தாரிடம்) உங்களுடைய (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) தெய்வங்களை நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் விட்டுவிடாதீர்கள், வத்து ஸுவாஉ, எகூஸ், யஊக், நஸ்ர், (ஆகிய விக்கிரகங்)களையும் நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் விட்டுவிடாதீர்கள்” என்றும் கூறினார்கள்.

They said, ‘Do not abandon your gods; and do not abandon Wadd, Suwā‘, Yaghūth, Ya‘ūq, and Nasr.’

Waqad adalloo katheeran wala tazidi alththalimeena illa dalalan

"And indeed they have led many astray. And (O Allâh): 'Grant no increase to the Zâlimûn (polytheists, wrong doers, and disbelievers) except error.' "

And already they have misled many. And, [my Lord], do not increase the wrongdoers except in error."

நிச்சயமாக பலரை வழிகெடுத்துவிட்டனர். (ஆகவே, என் இறைவனே!) இந்த அநியாயக்காரர்களுக்கு வழிகேட்டையன்றி நீ அதிகப்படுத்திவிடாதே!" (என்றும் பிரார்த்தித்தார்).

“நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் அநேகரை வழிகெடுத்துவிட்டனர்; ஆகவே இவ்வநியாயக் காரர்களுக்கு வழி கேட்டைத் தவிர, வேறு எதையும் நீ அதிகப்படுத்தாதே.”

“நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் அநேகரை வழி கெடுத்தும் விட்டனர், (ஆகவே, என் இரட்சகனே!) அநியாயக்காரர்களுக்கு வழிக்கேட்டைத் தவிர வேறு எதையும் நீ அதிகப்படுத்தி விடாதே!” (என்றும் பிரார்த்தித்தார்.)

They have led many astray. So [O Lord], do not increase the wrongdoers except in error.”

Mimma khateeatihim oghriqoo faodkhiloo naran falam yajidoo lahum min dooni Allahi ansaran

Because of their sins they were drowned, then were made to enter the Fire. And they found none to help them instead of Allâh.

Because of their sins they were drowned and put into the Fire, and they found not for themselves besides Allah [any] helpers.

ஆகவே, அவர்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்த பாவத்தின் காரணமாக, (வெள்ளப்பிரளயத்தில்) மூழ்கடிக்கப்பட்டுப், பின்னர் நரகத்திலும் புகுத்தப்பட்டனர். அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி அவர்களுக்கு உதவி செய்பவர்களை அவர்கள் காணவில்லை.

ஆகவே, அவர்கள் தம் பாவங்களினால் மூழ்கடிக்கப்பட்டு, பின்னால் நரக நெருப்பிலும் புகுத்தப்பட்டனர். எனவே, அல்லாஹ்வை அன்றி தங்களுக்கு உதவி செய்வோரை அவர்கள் காணவில்லை.

ஆகவே, அவர்களுடைய பாவங்களின் காரணமாக (பெரு வெள்ளத்தில்) அவர்கள் மூழ்கடிக்கப்பட்டு, (பின்னர்) நரகத்திலும் புகுத்தப்பட்டனர், அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர அவர்களுக்கு உதவி செய்வோரை அவர்கள் பெற்றுக் கொள்ளவில்லை.

Because of their sins they were drowned and then were cast into the Fire, and they did not find any helpers against Allah.

Waqala noohun rabbi la tathar AAala alardi mina alkafireena dayyaran

And Nûh (Noah) said: "My Lord! Leave not one of the disbelievers on the earth!

And Noah said, "My Lord, do not leave upon the earth from among the disbelievers an inhabitant.

பின்னும், நூஹ் (தன் இறைவனை நோக்கி,) "என் இறைவனே! பூமியில் இந்நிராகரிப்பவர்களில் ஒருவரையும் நீ வசித்திருக்க விட்டு வைக்காதே!

அப்பால் நூஹ் கூறினார்: “என் இறைவா! பூமியின் மீது இக்காஃபிர்களில் எவரையும் நீ வசித்திருக்க விட்டு விடாதே.

இன்னும், நூஹ் கூறினார், “என் இரட்சகனே! நிராகரிப்போரிலிருந்து பூமியில் வசிக்க ஒருவரையும் நீ விட்டு வைக்காதே!

Noah said, “My Lord, do not leave on earth a single disbeliever.

Innaka in tatharhum yudilloo AAibadaka wala yalidoo illa fajiran kaffaran

"If You leave them, they will mislead Your slaves, and they will beget none but wicked disbelievers.

Indeed, if You leave them, they will mislead Your servants and not beget except [every] wicked one and [confirmed] disbeliever.

நீ அவர்களை விட்டு வைப்பாயானால், உன்னுடைய (மற்ற) அடியார்களையும் நிச்சயமாக வழிகெடுத்தே விடுவார்கள். பாவிகளையும் நிராகரிப்பவர்களையும் அன்றி, (வேறெவரையும் குழந்தையாக) அவர்கள் பெற்றெடுக்கவும் மாட்டார்கள்.

“நிச்சயமாக நீ அவர்களை விட்டு வைப்பாயானால். உன் அடியார்களை அவர்கள் வழி கெடுத்துவிடுவார்கள்; அன்றியும், பாவிகளையும், காஃபிர்களையும் அன்றி அவர்கள் பெற்றெடுக்கமாட்டார்கள்.

“நிச்சயமாக நீ அவர்களை விட்டுவைத்தால் உன்னுடைய (மற்ற) அடியார்களை அவர்கள் வழி கெடுத்துவிடுவார்கள், நிராகரிக்கின்ற பாவியைத் தவிர (வேறு நல்லவர் எவரையும்) அவர்கள் பெற்றெடுக்கவுமாட்டார்கள்” (என்றும்)

For if You leave them, they will surely lead Your slaves astray and beget none but wicked disbelievers.

Rabbi ighfir lee waliwalidayya waliman dakhala baytiya muminan walilmumineena waalmuminati wala tazidi alththalimeena illa tabaran

"My Lord! Forgive me, and my parents, and him who enters my home as a believer, and all the believing men and women. And to the Zâlimûn (polytheists, wrong doers, and disbelievers) grant You no increase but destruction!"

My Lord, forgive me and my parents and whoever enters my house a believer and the believing men and believing women. And do not increase the wrongdoers except in destruction."

என் இறைவனே! எனக்கும் என்னுடைய தாய் தந்தைக்கும், நம்பிக்கைக் கொண்டவனாக என்னுடைய வீட்டில் நுழைந்த வனுக்கும், (வீட்டில் நுழையாத மற்ற) நம்பிக்கை கொண்ட ஆண்களுக்கும், நம்பிக்கை கொண்ட பெண்களுக்கும் நீ மன்னித்தருள் புரிவாயாக! இந்த அநியாயக்காரர்களுக்கும் அழிவை தவிர நீ அதிகப்படுத்தாதே!" (என்றும் பிரார்த்தித்தார்).

“என் இறைவா! எனக்கும், என் பெற்றோருக்கும், என் வீட்டில் நம்பிக்கையாளர்களாகப் பிரவேசித்தவர்களுக்கும், முஃமினான ஆண்களுக்கும், முஃமினான பெண்களுக்கும், நீ மன்னிப்பளிப்பாயாக! மேலும், அநியாயக்காரர்களுக்கு அழிவையேயல்லாது (வேறு எதையும்) நீ அதிகரிக்காதே” (என்றும் கூறினார்).

“என் இரட்சகனே! எனக்கும், என்னுடைய பெற்றோருக்கும், விசுவாசம் கொண்டவராக என்னுடைய வீட்டில் நுழைந்தவருக்கும் விசுவாசங்கொண்ட ஆண்களுக்கும், விசுவாசங்கொண்ட பெண்களுக்கும் நீ மன்னிப்பளிப்பாயாக! இந்த அநியாயக்காரர்களுக்கு அழிவையே தவிர (வேறு எதையும்) நீ அதிகப்படுத்தாதிருப்பாயாக!” (என்றும் பிரார்த்தித்தார்.)

My Lord, forgive me and my parents, and whoever enters my house as a believer, and all the believing men and women, and do not increase the wrongdoers except in ruin.”
