67 - al-Mulk (Dominion). ....

Tabaraka allathee biyadihi almulku wahuwa AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion; and He is Able to do all things.

Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent -

(மனிதர்களே! வானம் பூமி ஆகிய) அனைத்தின் ஆட்சி எவன் கையில் இருக்கின்றதோ அவன் மிக பாக்கியமுடையவன். (வானம் பூமிகளை அழிக்கவும், ஆக்கவும்) அவன் (விரும்பியவாறு அவைகளைச் செய்ய) அனைத்தின் மீதும் ஆற்றலுடையவன்.

எவனுடைய கையில் ஆட்சி இருக்கின்றதோ அவன் பாக்கியவான்; மேலும், அவன் எல்லாப் பொருட்களின் மீதும் பேராற்றலுடையவன்.

எவனது கரத்தில் (இம்மை, மறுமையில் வானம் மற்றும் பூமியின்) ஆட்சி இருக்கின்றதோ, அவன் மிக்க பாக்கியமுடையவன், இன்னும், அவன் ஒவ்வொரு பொருளின் மீதும் மிக்க ஆற்றலுடையவன்.

Blessed is He in Whose hand is the dominion, and He is Most Capable of all things.

Allathee khalaqa almawta waalhayata liyabluwakum ayyukum ahsanu AAamalan wahuwa alAAazeezu alghafooru

Who has created death and life that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving;

[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving -

உங்களில் மிகத்தூய்மையான அமல் செய்பவர்கள் யார் என்று சோதிப்பதற்காகவே, அவன் மரணத்தையும், வாழ்க்கை யையும் படைத்திருக்கின்றான். அவன் (அனைவரையும்) மிகைத்தவன்; மிக மன்னிப்புடையவன்.

உங்களில் எவர் செயல்களால் மிகவும் அழகானவர் என்பதைச் சோதிப்பதற்காக அவன், மரணத்தையும் வாழ்வையும் படைத்தான்; மேலும், அவன் (யாவரையும்) மிகைத்தவன்; மிக மன்னிப்பவன்.

அவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால், உங்களில் எவர் செயலால் மிக்க அழகானவர் என்று உங்களை அவன் சோதிப்பதற்காக மரணத்தையும், ஜீவியத்தையும் அவன் படைத்திருக்கின்றான், அவனே (யாவற்றையும்) மிகைத்தவன், மிக்க மன்னிக்கிறவன்.

Who created death and life to test you as to which of you is best in deeds, and He is the All-Mighty, the Most Forgiving.

Allathee khalaqa sabAAa samawatin tibaqan ma tara fee khalqi alrrahmani min tafawutin fairjiAAi albasara hal tara min futoorin

Who has created the seven heavens one above another; you can see no fault in the creation of the Most Gracious. Then look again: "Can you see any rifts?"

[And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks?

அவனே ஏழு வானங்களையும் அடுக்கடுக்காகப் படைத்தவன். (மனிதனே!) அந்த ரஹ்மானுடைய படைப்பில் நீ யாதொரு ஒழுங்கீனத்தையும் காணமாட்டாய். மற்றொரு முறை (அதனைக் கவனித்துப்) பார். அதில் யாதொரு பிளவை நீ காண்கின்றாயா?

அவனே ஏழு வானங்களையும் அடுக்கடுக்காக படைத்தான்; (மனிதனே) அர்ரஹ்மானின் படைப்பில் குறையை நீர் காணமாட்டீர்; பின்னும் (ஒரு முறை) பார்வையை மீட்டிப்பார்! (அவ்வானங்களில்) ஏதாவது ஓர் பிளவை காண்கிறாயா?

அவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால், ஏழு வானங்களை அடுக்கடுக்காகப் படைத்தான், (மனிதனே!) அர்ரஹ்மானுடைய படைப்பில் நீ யாதொரு முரண்பாட்டையும் காணமாட்டாய், ஆகவே, பார்வையை மீட்டிப்பார், (அதில்) பிளவுகளை நீ காண்கிறாயா?

Who created seven heavens one above another; you will not see any imperfection in the creation of the Most Compassionate. Look again; can you see any flaw?

Thumma irjiAAi albasara karratayni yanqalib ilayka albasaru khasian wahuwa haseerun

Then look again and yet again, your sight will return to you in a state of humiliation, and worn out.

Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued.

(பின்னும்) பின்னும் இரு முறை பார்! (இவ்வாறு நீ எத்தனை முறை துருவித் துருவிப் பார்த்தபோதிலும் யாதொரு குறையும் காண முடியாது.) உன்னுடைய பார்வைதான் அலுத்து, கேவலமுற்று உன்னிடம் திரும்பிவிடும்.

பின்னர் இருமுறை உன் பார்வையை மீட்டிப்பார்; உன் பார்வை களைத்து, மழுங்கிச் சிறுமையடைந்து உன்னிடம் திரும்பும்.

பின்னும் இருமுறை உன் பார்வையை மீட்டிப்பார், (எக்குறையையும் காணாது) அப்பார்வை இழிவடைந்ததாக அது களைப்புற்று உன்னிடம் திரும்பிவரும்.

Then look again and again; your sight will turn back to you humbled and weary.

Walaqad zayyanna alssamaa alddunya bimasabeeha wajaAAalnaha rujooman lilshshayateeni waaAAtadna lahum AAathaba alssaAAeeri

And indeed We have adorned the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made such lamps (as) missiles to drive away the Shayâtîn (devils), and have prepared for them the torment of the blazing Fire.

And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze.

நிச்சயமாக நாம், சமீபமாக உள்ள வானத்தை (பூமியிலுள்ள வர்களுக்கு நட்சத்திர) விளக்குகளைக் கொண்டு அலங்காரமாக்கி வைத்தோம். அன்றி, அவைகளை ஷைத்தான்களுக்கு ஓர் எறிகல்லாகவும் அமைத்தோம். (இதையன்றி) அவர்களுக்கு நரக வேதனையையும் நாம் தயார்படுத்தி வைத்திருக்கின்றோம்.

அன்றியும், திட்டமாக நாமே (பூமிக்குச்) சமீபமாக இருக்கும் வானத்தை (நட்சத்திர) விளக்குகளைக் கொண்டு அலங்கரித்திருக்கின்றோம்; இன்னும், அவற்றை ஷைத்தான்களை (வெருட்டும்) எறி கற்களாகவும் நாம் ஆக்கினோம்; அன்றியும் அவர்களுக்காகக் கொழுந்து விட்டெரியும் (நரக) நெருப்பின் வேதனையைச் சித்தம் செய்திருக்கின்றோம்.

மேலும், நிச்சயமாக நாம் (பூமிக்குச்) சமீபமான வானத்தை (நட்சத்திரங்களால் ஆன) விளக்குகளைக் கொண்டு அலங்கரித்திருக்கின்றோம், இன்னும், அவைகளை ஷைத்தான்களுக்கு எறியப்படுபவைகளாகவும் நாம் அமைத்தோம், அவர்களுக்கு நரக நெருப்பின் வேதனையையும் நாம் தயார் செய்து வைத்திருக்கின்றோம்.

We have adorned the lowest heaven with lamps and have made them as missiles to stone the devils, and We have prepared for them the punishment of the Blazing Fire.

Walillatheena kafaroo birabbihim AAathabu jahannama wabisa almaseeru

And for those who disbelieve in their Lord (Allâh) is the torment of Hell, and worst indeed is that destination.

And for those who disbelieved in their Lord is the punishment of Hell, and wretched is the destination.

(இவர்களையன்றி) இன்னும் எவர்கள் தங்கள் இறைவனை நிராகரிக்கின்றார்களோ, அவர்களுக்கு நரக வேதனையுண்டு. அது மகாகெட்ட தங்குமிடம்.

இன்னும், எவர்கள் தங்கள் இறைவனை நிராகரிக்கின்றார்களோ, அவர்களுக்கு நரக வேதனை உண்டு; (அது) மிகக் கெட்ட மீளுமிடமாகும்.

இன்னும், தங்கள் இரட்சகனை நிராகரிக்கின்றார்களே அத்தகையோருக்கு நரக வேதனையுண்டு, அது திரும்பிச் சேருமிடத்தில் மிகவும் கெட்டது.

For those who disbelieve in their Lord there will be the punishment of Hell. What a terrible destination!

Itha olqoo feeha samiAAoo laha shaheeqan wahiya tafooru

When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath as it blazes forth.

When they are thrown into it, they hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up.

அதில் அவர்கள் (தூக்கி) எறியப்படும்பொழுது (கழுதையின் பெரிய சப்தத்தைப் போல்) அதன் கொதி சப்தத்தைக் கேட்பார்கள். அது கோபத்தால் வெடித்து விடுவதைப் போல் குமுறிக் கொண்டிருக்கும்.

அதில் அவர்கள் போடப்படுவார்களாயின், அது கொதிக்கும் நிலை (கழுதையின் பெருங்குரலைப் போல்) அருவருப்பான சப்தம் உண்டாவதை அவர்கள் கேட்பார்கள்.

அதில் அவர்கள் தூக்கிப்போடப்பட்டால், அதுவோ கொதித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கும் நிலையில் (கழுதையின் சப்தத்தைப்போல்) அருவருப்பான சப்தம் அதற்கிருப்பதை அவர்கள் கேட்பார்கள்.

When they are thrown in it, they will hear its roaring as it boils up,

Takadu tamayyazu mina alghaythi kullama olqiya feeha fawjun saalahum khazanatuha alam yatikum natheerun

It almost bursts up with fury. Every time a group is cast therein, its keepers will ask: "Did no warner come to you?"

It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, "Did there not come to you a warner?"

அதில் ஒரு கூட்டத்தினரை எறியப்படும் பொழுதெல்லாம், அதன் காவலாளர் அவர்களை நோக்கி ("இவ்வேதனையைப் பற்றி) அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்யும் தூதர் உங்களிடம் வரவில்லையா" என்று கேட்பார்கள்.

அது கோபத்தால் வெடித்து விடவும் நெருங்குகிறது; அதில் ஒவ்வொரு கூட்டமும் போடப்படும் போதெல்லாம், “அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவர் உங்களிடம் வரவில்லையா?” என்று அதன் காவலாளிகள் அவர்களைக் கேட்பார்கள்.

நிராகரிப்போரின் மீதுள்ள) கடுங்கோபத்தால் வெடித்துவிட, அது சமீபித்துவிடும், அதில் ஒரு கூட்டத்தினரைப் போடப்படும் பொழுதெல்லாம் அதன் காவலர்கள் அவர்களிடம், “(இது பற்றி) அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கின்றவர் உங்களிடம் வரவில்லையா?” என்று கேட்பார்கள்.

almost bursting in fury. Every time a group is thrown in it, its keepers will ask them, “Did there not come to you a warner?”

Qaloo bala qad jaana natheerun fakaththabna waqulna ma nazzala Allahu min shayin in antum illa fee dalalin kabeerin

They will say: "Yes, indeed a warner did come to us, but we denied him and said: 'Allâh never sent down anything (of Revelation); you are only in great error."'

They will say," Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, 'Allah has not sent down anything. You are not but in great error.'"

அதற்கவர்கள் "மெய்தான் அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்யும் தூதர் நிச்சயமாக எங்களிடம் வந்தார். எனினும், நாங்கள் (அவரைப்) பொய்யாக்கி, அல்லாஹ் (உங்கள் மீது) யாதொன்றையும் இறக்கி வைக்கவே இல்லை. நீங்கள் பெரும் வழிகேட்டிலன்றி இருக்க வில்லை என்று (அவர்களை நோக்கி) நாங்கள் கூறினோம்" எனறு கூறுவார்கள்.

அதற்கவர்கள் கூறுவார்கள்: “ஆம்! அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவர் திட்டமாக எங்களிடம் வந்தார்; ஆனால் நாங்கள் (அவரைப்) பொய்ப்பித்து, “அல்லாஹ் யாதொன்றையும் இறக்கவில்லை; நீங்கள் பெரும் வழிகேட்டில் அல்லாமல் வேறில்லை” என்று சொன்னோம்.”

அ(தற்க)வர்கள் “மெய்தான்! அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கின்றவர் நிச்சயமாக எங்களிடம் வந்தார், பின்னர் நாங்கள் (அவரைப்) பொய்யாக்கி, அல்லாஹ் எதையும் (உம்மீது) இறக்கி வைக்கவில்லை, நீங்கள் பெரும்வழிகேட்டிலல்லாமல் (வேறு) இல்லை என்று நாங்கள் கூறினோம்” என்று அவர்கள் கூறுவார்கள்.

They will say, “Yes, a warner did come to us, but we denied and said, ‘Allah has not sent down anything; you are greatly misguided.’”

Waqaloo law kunna nasmaAAu aw naAAqilu ma kunna fee ashabi alssaAAeeri

And they will say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we would not have been among the dwellers of the blazing Fire!"

And they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze."

அன்றி "(அத்தூதர்களின் வார்த்தைகளுக்கு) நாங்கள் செவிசாய்த்து அவைகளை நாங்கள் சிந்தித்திருந்தால், நாங்கள் நரகவாசிகளாகி இருக்கவே மாட்டோம்" என்று கூறி,

இன்னும் அவர்கள் கூறுவார்கள்: “நாங்கள் (அவர் போதனையைச்) செவியுற்றோ அல்லது சிந்தித்தோ இருந்திருந்தோமானால் நாங்கள் நரகவாசிகளில் இருந்திருக்க மாட்டோம்.”

(அவர் உபதேசத்தை) “நாங்கள் செவியுற்றோ, அல்லது (அவைகளை) நாங்கள் விளங்கியோ இருந்திருந்தால் நாங்கள் நரகவாசிகளில் ஆகியிருக்கமாட்டோம்” என்று அவர்கள் கூறுவார்கள்.

And they will say, “If only we had listened or understood, we would not be among the dwellers of the Blazing Fire.”

FaiAAtarafoo bithanbihim fasuhqan liashabi alssaAAeeri

Then they will confess their sin. So, away with the dwellers of the blazing Fire!

And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze.

தங்கள் பாவத்தை ஒப்புக்கொள்வார்கள். ஆகவே, இந்நரகவாசிகளுக்குக் கேடுதான்.

(இவ்வாறு) தங்கள் பாவங்களை அவர்கள் ஒப்புக் கொள்வார்கள் - எனவே, இந்நரகவாசிகளுக்குக் கேடுதான்.

எனவே, (இவ்வாறு கூறுவதன் மூலம்) அவர்கள் தங்கள் பாவத்தை ஒப்புக்கொண்டு விடுகின்றனர், ஆகவே, நரகவாசிகளுக்கு (அல்லாஹ்வின் அருள்) தூரமே!

Thus they will confess their sins. So away with the dwellers of the Blazing Fire!

Inna allatheena yakhshawna rabbahum bialghaybi lahum maghfiratun waajrun kabeerun

Verily, those who fear their Lord unseen (i.e. they do not see Him, nor His punishment in the Hereafter), theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward (i.e. Paradise).

Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward.

நிச்சயமாக எவர்கள் மறைவான சமயத்திலும், தங்கள் இறைவனுக்குப் பயப்படுகின்றார்களோ அவர்களுக்கு மன்னிப்பும் உண்டு; பெரும் கூலியும் உண்டு.

நிச்சயமாக எவர்கள் தங்கள் இறைவனை(ப் பார்க்காதிருந்தும்) அந்தரங்கத்தில் அவனுக்கு அஞ்சுகிறார்களோ, அவர்களுக்கு மன்னிப்புமுண்டு, பெரிய நற்கூலியும் உண்டு.

நிச்சயமாக (தங்கள் இரட்சகனைப் பார்க்காதிருந்தும்) மறைவில் தங்கள் இரட்சகனைப் பயப்படுகிறார்களே அத்தகையோர் - அவர்களுக்கு மன்னிப்பும், பெருங்கூலியுமுண்டு.

Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and a great reward.

Waasirroo qawlakum awi ijharoo bihi innahu AAaleemun bithati alssudoori

And (whether you) keep your talk secret or disclose it, verily, He is All-Knower of what is in the breasts (of men).

And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.

(மனிதர்களே!) நீங்கள் உங்கள் வார்த்தைகளை இரகசியமாகக் கூறுங்கள் அல்லது பகிரங்கமாகவே கூறுங்கள். (எவ்விதம் கூறியபோதிலும், இறைவன் அதனை நன்கறிந்து கொள்வான். ஏனென்றால்,) நிச்சயமாக அவன், (மனிதர்களின்) உள்ளங்களில் உள்ளவைகளையும் நன்கறிபவனாக இருக்கின்றான்.

மேலும், உங்கள் சொல்லை நீங்கள் இரகசியமாக்குங்கள்; அல்லது அதை பகிரங்கமாக்குங்கள் - நிச்சயமாக அவன் இதயங்களிலுள்ளவற்றையும் மிக அறிந்தவன்.

மேலும், (மனிதர்களே!) நீங்கள் உங்கள் கூற்றை இரகசியாக ஆக்குங்கள், அல்லது அதை (சப்தமிட்டு) பகிரங்கமாக ஆக்குங்கள், (யாவற்றையும் அல்லாஹ் நன்கறிந்து கொள்வான், ஏனென்றால்,) நிச்சயமாக அவன் நெஞ்சங்களிலுள்ளவற்றை நன்கறியக்கூடியவன்.

Whether you speak secretly or openly, He is All-Knowing of that which is in the hearts.

Ala yaAAlamu man khalaqa wahuwa allateefu alkhabeeru

Should not He Who has created know? And He is the Most Kind and Courteous (to His slaves), the Well-Acquainted (with everything).

Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted?

(அனைவரையும்) படைத்தவன் (அவைகளில் உள்ளவைகளை) அறிய மாட்டானா? அவனோ உட்கிருபை உடையவனாகவும் (அனைத்தையும்) வெகு நுட்பமாக அறியக் கூடியவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

(அனைத்தையும்) படைத்தவன் அறிய மாட்டானா? அவன் நுணுக்கமாக கவனிப்பவன்; யாவற்றையும் நன்கு தெரிந்தவன்.  

(யாவையும்) படைத்தவன், அவனோ நுட்பமான (அறிவுடைய)வனாக, யாவையும் நன்குணர்பவனாக இருக்க (நெஞ்சங்களில் உள்ளவற்றை) அவன் அறியமாட்டானா?

Does He not know His Own creation, when He is the Most Subtle, the All-Aware?

Huwa allathee jaAAala lakumu alarda thaloolan faimshoo fee manakibiha wakuloo min rizqihi wailayhi alnnushooru

He it is Who has made the earth subservient to you (i.e. easy for you to walk, to live and to do agriculture on it); so walk in the paths thereof and eat of His provision. And to Him will be the Resurrection.

It is He who made the earth tame for you - so walk among its slopes and eat of His provision - and to Him is the resurrection.

அவன்தான் உங்களுக்குப் பூமியை (நீங்கள் வசிப்பதற்கு) வசதியாக ஆக்கி வைத்தான். ஆகவே, அதன் பல கோணங்களிலும் சென்று, அவன் (உங்களுக்கு) அளித்திருப்பவைகளைப் புசித்துக் கொண்டிருங்கள். (மறுமையில்) அவனிடமே (அனைவரும்) செல்ல வேண்டியதிருக்கின்றது.

அவனே உங்களுக்கு இப்பூமியை (நீங்கள் வாழ்வதற்கு) வசதியாக ஆக்கினான்; ஆகவே, அதன் பல மருங்குகளிலும், நடந்து அவனுடைய உணவிலிருந்து புசியுங்கள்; இன்னும் அவனிடமே (யாவரும்) உயிர்த்தெழவேண்டியிருக்கிறது.

அவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால், உங்களுக்கு பூமியை (வாழ்வதற்கு) எளிதானதாக அவன் ஆக்கி வைத்தான், ஆகவே, அதன் பல பாகங்களில் சென்று அவன் உங்களுக்கு அளித்திருக்கும் உணவிலிருந்து உண்ணுங்கள், (உங்களுடைய மண்ணறைகளிலிருந்து) உயிர்பெற்றெழுதல் அவன்பாலே இருக்கிறது.

It is He Who made the earth smooth for you, so travel through its regions and eat from His provisions. And to Him is the resurrection.

Aamintum man fee alssamai an yakhsifa bikumu alarda faitha hiya tamooru

Do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven (Allâh), will not cause the earth to sink with you, and then it should quake?

Do you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not cause the earth to swallow you and suddenly it would sway?

வானத்தில் இருப்பவன், உங்களைப் பூமியில் சொருகிவிட மாட்டான் என்று நீங்கள் அச்சமற்றிருக்கின்றீர்களா? அந்நேரத்தில் பூமி அதிர்ந்து நடு நடுங்(கிக்) கு(முறு)ம்.

வானத்தில் இருப்பவன் உங்களைப் பூமியில் சொறுகிவிடுவான் என்பதை பற்றி நீங்கள் அச்சமற்று இருக்கிறீர்களா? அப்போது (பூமி) அதிர்ந்து நடுங்கும்.

வானத்திலிருப்பவன், உங்களை பூமியில் அழுந்தச்செய்து விடுவான் என்பதிலிருந்து நீங்கள் அச்சமற்றிருக்கின்றீர்களா? (பூமியாகிய) அது அந்நேரத்தில் நடுங்கும்.

Do you feel secure that He Who is in the heaven will not cause the earth to sink with you, then suddenly convulse?

Am amintum man fee alssamai an yursila AAalaykum hasiban fasataAAlamoona kayfa natheeri

Or do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven (Allâh), will not send against you a violent whirlwind? Then you shall know how (terrible) has been My Warning.

Or do you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not send against you a storm of stones? Then you would know how [severe] was My warning.

அல்லது வானத்திலிருப்பவன், உங்கள் மீது கல்மழையை பொழிய மாட்டான் என்று நீங்கள் பயமற்றிருக்கின்றீர்களா? அவ்வாறாயின், எச்சரிக்கை (செய்யப்பட்ட வேதனை) எவ்வாறிருக்கும் என்பதை நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் அறிந்துகொள்வீர்கள்.

அல்லது வானத்திலிருப்பவன் உங்கள் மீது கல்மாரியை அனுப்புவது பற்றி அச்சமற்று இருக்கிறீர்களா? ஆகவே, எனது எச்சரிக்கை (செய்யப்பட்ட வேதனை) எப்படி என்பதை விரைவில் நீங்கள் அறிந்துகொள்வீர்கள்.

அல்லது வானத்திலிருப்பவன், உங்கள் மீது கல்மாரியை அவன் அனுப்பி வைப்பான், என்பதிலிருந்து நீங்கள் அச்சமற்றிருக்கின்றீர்களா? அவ்வாறாயின் எச்சரிக்கை (செய்யப்பட்ட வேதனை) எவ்வாறிருக்கும் என்பதை நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொள்வீர்கள்.

Do you feel secure that He Who is in the heaven will not send against you a storm of stones? Only then would you know how [serious] My warning was!

Walaqad kaththaba allatheena min qablihim fakayfa kana nakeeri

And indeed those before them denied (the Messengers of Allâh), then how terrible was My denial (punishment)?

And already had those before them denied, and how [terrible] was My reproach.

இவர்களுக்கு முன்னுள்ளவர்களும் (இவர்களைப் போலவே நம் வசனங்களைப்) பொய்யாக்கி (நிராகரித்து)க் கொண்டிருந்தனர். அந்நிராகரிப்பு எவ்வாறாயிற்று என்பதை (நபியே!) நீங்கள் கவனித்தீர்களா?

அன்றியும் அவர்களுக்கு முன் இருந்தார்களே அவர்களும் (நம் வசனங்களை இவ்வாறே) பொய்ப்பித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தனர்; என் எச்சரிக்கை எவ்வளவு கடுமையாக இருந்தது?

மேலும், அவர்களுக்கு முன்னிருந்தார்களே அவர்கள் (இவர்களைப் போலவே நம் வசனங்களைப்) பொய்யாக்கி (நிராகரித்து)க் கொண்டிருந்தனர், ஆனால் (அவர்களை அழிப்பது கொண்டு) என்னுடைய மறுப்பு எவ்வாறிருந்தது?

Those who came before them rejected [the messengers]; then how severe was My response!

Awalam yaraw ila alttayri fawqahum saffatin wayaqbidna ma yumsikuhunna illa alrrahmanu innahu bikulli shayin baseerun

Do they not see the birds above them, spreading out their wings and folding them in? None upholds them except the Most Gracious (Allâh). Verily, He is All-Seer of everything.

Do they not see the birds above them with wings outspread and [sometimes] folded in? None holds them [aloft] except the Most Merciful. Indeed He is, of all things, Seeing.

இறக்கைகளை விரித்துக் கொண்டும், மடக்கிக் கொண்டும் இவர்களுக்கு மேல் ஆகாயத்தில் (அணி அணியாகச் செல்லும் பறவைகளை இவர்கள் கவனிக்கவில்லையா? ரஹ்மானைத் தவிர, (மற்றெவரும்) அவைகளை (ஆகாயத்தில் தூக்கி)ப் பிடித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கவில்லை! நிச்சயமாக அவன் அனைத்தையும் உற்று நோக்கினவனாக இருக்கின்றான்.

இறக்கைகளை விரித்துக் கொண்டும், சேர்த்துக் கொண்டும், இவர்களுக்கு மேல் (வானில் பறக்கும்) பறவைகளை இவர்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா? அர்ரஹ்மானைத் தவிர (வேறு யாரும் கீழே விழாது) அவற்றைத் தடுத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கவில்லை - நிச்சயமாக அவன் ஒவ்வொரு பொருளையும் நோட்டமிடுபவன்.

இறக்கைகளை விரித்துக்கொண்டும் மடித்துக் கொண்டும் அவர்களுக்கு மேல் (ஆகாயத்தில் அணியணியாகப் பறக்கும்) பட்சிகளை இவர்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா? அர்ரஹ்மானைத்தவிர, (மற்றெவரும்) அவைகளை (ஆகாயத்தில்) தடுத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கவில்லை, நிச்சயமாக அவன் ஒவ்வொரு பொருளையும் பார்க்கக்கூடியவன்.

Do they not see the birds above them, spreading out and folding in their wings? None holds them up except the Most Compassionate. He is indeed All-Seeing of everything.

Amman hatha allathee huwa jundun lakum yansurukum min dooni alrrahmani ini alkafiroona illa fee ghuroorin

Who is he besides the Most Gracious that can be an army to you to help you? The disbelievers are in nothing but delusion.

Or who is it that could be an army for you to aid you other than the Most Merciful? The disbelievers are not but in delusion.

ரஹ்மானையன்றி உங்களுக்கு உதவி செய்யக்கூடிய படைகள் எவை? இந்நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் வெறும் மாயையிலன்றி வேறில்லை.

அன்றியும், அர்ரஹ்மானை தவிர வேறு எவர் உங்களுக்குப் பட்டாளமாக இருந்து கொண்டு உதவி செய்வார்? காஃபிர்கள் ஏமாற்றத்திலன்றி வேறில்லை.

அர்-ரஹ்மானையன்றி உங்களுக்குப் படையாக உள்ள இத்தகையவனா? – அவன் உங்களுக்கு உதவி செய்வான், நிராகரிப்போர் ஏமாற்றத்திலன்றி (வேறு) இல்லை.

Which is your army that can come to your aid against the Most Compassionate? The disbelievers are in utter delusion.

Amman hatha allathee yarzuqukum in amsaka rizqahu bal lajjoo fee AAutuwwin wanufoorin

Who is he that can provide for you if He should withhold His provision? Nay, but they continue to be in pride, and (they) flee (from the truth).

Or who is it that could provide for you if He withheld His provision? But they have persisted in insolence and aversion.

அல்லாஹ் (உங்களுக்களிக்கும்) தன்னுடைய உணவைத் தடுத்துக் கொண்டால், உங்களுக்கு உணவு கொடுப்பவன் யார்? (இதனையும் இவர்கள் கவனிப்பதில்லை.) அன்று. இவர்கள் வழிகேட்டிலும், (சத்தியத்தை) வெறுப்பதிலுமே மூழ்கிக் கிடக்கின்றனர்.

அல்லது, தான் உணவளிப்பதை அவன் தடுத்துக் கொண்டால், உங்களுக்கு உணவளிப்பவர் யார்? அப்படியல்ல, ஆனால், இவர்கள் மாறு செய்வதிலும் (சத்தியத்தை) வெறுப்பதிலும் ஆழ்ந்திருக்கின்றனர்.

(ரஹ்மானாகிய அவன் அளித்துவரும்) அவனுடைய ரிஜ்கை (அருள் விஸ்தீரணத்தை) அவன் தடுத்துக் கொண்டால், (உங்களுக்கு எதிராக உள்ள இவனா? அவனுக்கு எதிராக) உங்களுக்கு ரிஜ்கை அளிப்பான்? அன்று! இவர்கள் பெருமையடிப்பதிலும் (சத்தியத்தை) வெறுப்பதிலேயுமே மூழ்கிக்கிடக்கின்றனர்.

Who is there to give you provision if He withholds His provision? Yet they persist in arrogance and aversion.

Afaman yamshee mukibban AAala wajhihi ahda amman yamshee sawiyyan AAala siratin mustaqeemin

Is he who walks prone (without seeing) on his face, more rightly guided, or he who (sees and) walks upright on a Straight Way (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism)?

Then is one who walks fallen on his face better guided or one who walks erect on a straight path?

என்னே! முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து செல்பவன் தன் லட்சியத்தை அடைவானா? அல்லது நேரான பாதையில் ஒழுங்காகச் செல்பவன் அடைவானா?

முகம் குப்புற விழுந்து செல்பவன் மிக நேர்வழி அடைந்தவனா? அல்லது நேரான பாதையில் செவ்வையாக நடப்பவ(ன் மிக நேர்வழி அடைந்தவ)னா.

தன் முகத்தின் மீது முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து செல்பவன் மிக்க நேரான வழியில் இருக்கின்றானா? அல்லது நேரான பாதையில் சீராக நடப்பவனா?

Who is better guided: the one who walks stumbling and falling on his face or the one who walks upright on a straight path?

Qul huwa allathee anshaakum wajaAAala lakumu alssamAAa waalabsara waalafidata qaleelan ma tashkuroona

Say: "It is He Who has created you, and endowed you with hearing (ears) and seeing (eyes), and hearts. Little thanks you give."

Say, "It is He who has produced you and made for you hearing and vision and hearts; little are you grateful."

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: அவன்தான் உங்களை படைத்து உங்களுக்குச் செவிகளையும், கண்களையும், உள்ளங்களையும் கொடுத்தவன். (அவ்வாறிருந்தும்) நீங்கள் வெகு சொற்பமாகவே (அவனுக்கு) நன்றி செலுத்துகின்றீர்கள்.

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக: “அவனே உங்களைப் படைத்து உங்களுக்குச் செவிப்புலனையும், பார்வைகளையும் இதயங்களையும் அமைத்தான்; (எனினும்) மிகவும் சொற்பமாகவே நீங்கள் நன்றி செலுத்துகிறீர்கள்.”

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக (ரஹ்மானாகிய) அவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால், உங்களை அவன் (ஆரம்பமாக) உற்பத்தி செய்து உங்களுக்குச் செவிப்புலனையும், பார்வைகளையும், இதயங்களையும் அவன் ஆக்கினான், (இத்தகு பேரருட்களைச் செய்த அவனுக்கு) நீங்கள் வெகு சொற்பமாகவே நன்றி செலுத்துகிறீர்கள்.

Say, “It is He Who brought you into being and gave you hearing, sight, and hearts; little do you give thanks.”

Qul huwa allathee tharaakum fee alardi wailayhi tuhsharoona

Say: "It is He Who has created you on the earth, and to Him shall you be gathered (in the Hereafter)."

Say, "It is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered."

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: அவன்தான் உங்களைப் பூமியில் (பல பாகங்களிலும்) பரப்பி வைத்திருக்கின்றான். (மறுமையில்) அவனிடமே ஒன்று சேர்க்கப்படுவீர்கள்.

“அவனே உங்களைப் பூமியின் (பல பாகங்களிலும்) பரவச் செய்தான்; அன்றியும், அவனிடமே நீங்கள் ஒன்று திரட்டப்படுவீர்கள்” என்று கூறுவீராக.

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக! அவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால், பூமியில் (பலபாகங்களிலும்) உங்களை அவன் பரவச் செய்திருக்கின்றான், (மறுமையில்) அவன் பக்கமே நீங்கள் ஒன்று திரட்டப்படுவீர்கள்.

Say, “It is He Who has dispersed you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered.”

Wayaqooloona mata hatha alwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeena

They say: "When will this promise (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) come to pass if you are telling the truth?"

And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?"

(இவ்வாறிருந்தும் நம்பிக்கையாளர்களை நோக்கி, அவர்கள்) "நீங்கள் உண்மை சொல்பவர்களாயிருந்தால் (மறுமையைப் பற்றிய) இந்த வாக்குறுதி எப்பொழுது (வரும்?)" என்று கேட்கின்றார்கள்.

ஆயினும், “நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால், வாக்களிக்கப்பட்ட (மறுமையான)து எப்பொழுது (வரும்)?” என்று (காஃபிர்கள்) கேட்கிறார்கள்.

மேலும், (மறுமை நாளைப்பற்றி) “நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால், இந்த வாக்கு எப்பொழுது (வரும்)?” என்று கேட்கின்றார்கள்.

They say: “When will this promise come to pass, if you are truthful?”

Qul innama alAAilmu AAinda Allahi wainnama ana natheerun mubeenun

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "The knowledge (of its exact time) is with Allâh only, and I am only a plain warner."

Say, "The knowledge is only with Allah, and I am only a clear warner."

அதற்கு (நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: ("அது எப்போது வரும் என்ற) ஞானம் அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில்தான் இருக்கின்றது. நான் (அதைப் பற்றிப்) பகிரங்கமாக அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவன்தான்.

“இதைப் பற்றிய ஞானம் நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்விடமே தான் இருக்கிறது; தவிர, நிச்சயமாக நான் தெளிவாக அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவன் தான்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்.

(அதற்கு நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக “நிச்சயமாக (அது பற்றிய) அறிவெல்லாம், அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில் உள்ளது, அன்றியும், நிச்சயமாக நானோ (அதைப்பற்றி) தெளிவாக அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவன்தான்”

Say, “That knowledge is with Allah alone, and I am only a clear warner.”

Falamma raawhu zulfatan seeat wujoohu allatheena kafaroo waqeela hatha allathee kuntum bihi taddaAAoona

But when they will see it (the torment on the Day of Resurrection) approaching, the faces of those who disbelieve will change and turn black with sadness and in grief and it will be said (to them): "This is (the promise) which you were calling for!"

But when they see it approaching, the faces of those who disbelieve will be distressed, and it will be said, "This is that for which you used to call."

(நீங்கள் அச்சமூட்டிய) வேதனை (இவர்களை) நோக்கி வருவதை அவர்கள் கண்டால், அந்நிராகரிப்பவர்களுடைய முகங்கள் கருகிவிடும். (அன்றி, அவர்களை நோக்கி) "நீங்கள் (எப்பொழுது வரும், எப்பொழுது வரும் என்று) கேட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தது இதுதான்" என்றும் கூறப்படும்.

எனவே, அது நெருங்கி வருவதை அவர்கள் காணும் போது நிராகரிப்போரின் முகங்கள் (நிறம் பேதலித்துக்) கெட்டுவிடும்; இன்னும், “நீங்கள் எதை வேண்டிக் கொண்டிருந்தீர்களோ, அது இது தான்” என்று அவர்களுக்குக் கூறப்படும்.

(வாக்களிக்கப்பட்டதான) அதனை (அவர்களுக்குச்) சமீபமாக அவர்கள் பார்த்துவிடும்போது அந்நிராகரித்தோருடைய முகங்கள் வேதனையால் (பேதலித்துக்) கெட்டுவிடும்; அன்றியும், (அவர்களிடம்) “நீங்கள் (எப்பொழுது வருமென்று அவசரமாகத்) தேடிக் கொண்டிருந்தீர்களே அத்தகையது இதுதான்” என்று கூறப்படும்.

Then when they see it approaching closer, the faces of the disbelievers will be distressed, and it will be said, “This is what you were asking for.”

Qul araaytum in ahlakaniya Allahu waman maAAiya aw rahimana faman yujeeru alkafireena min AAathabin aleemin

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "Tell me! If Allâh destroys me, and those with me, or He bestows His Mercy on us – who can save the disbelievers from a painful torment?"

Say, [O Muhammad], "Have you considered: whether Allah should cause my death and those with me or have mercy upon us, who can protect the disbelievers from a painful punishment?"

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: என்னையும், என்னுடன் இருப்பவர்களையும் (நீங்கள் விரும்புகின்றபடி) அல்லாஹ் அழித்து விட்டாலும் அல்லது அவன் எங்களுக்கு அருள் புரிந்தாலும் (அது எங்கள் விஷயம். ஆயினும்,) துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையிலிருந்து நிராகரிக்கும் உங்களை பாதுகாப்பவர் யார் என்பதை(க் கவனித்து)ப் பார்த்தீர்களா?

கூறுவீராக: அல்லாஹ், என்னையும் என்னுடன் இருப்பவர்களையும் (நீங்கள் ஆசிப்பது போல்) அழித்து விட்டாலும், அல்லது (நாங்கள் நம்புவது போல்) அவன் எங்கள் மீது கிருபை புரிந்தாலும், நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனையை விட்டு, காஃபிர்களைக் காப்பவர் யார் என்பதை கவனித்தீர்களா?

“என்னையும், என்னுடன் இருப்பவர்களையும் அல்லாஹ் அழித்துவிட்டாலும், அல்லது அவன் எங்களுக்கு அருள் செய்துவிட்டாலும், துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையிலிருந்து நிராகரிப்போரைக் காப்பாற்றுபவர் யார்?” என்பதை எனக்குத் தெரிவியுங்கள்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக.

Say, “What do you think, if Allah causes me and those who are with me to die or shows us mercy, who will save the disbelievers from a painful punishment?”

Qul huwa alrrahmanu amanna bihi waAAalayhi tawakkalna fasataAAlamoona man huwa fee dalalin mubeenin

Say: "He is the Most Gracious (Allâh), in Him we believe, and in Him we put our trust. So, you will come to know who it is that is in manifest error."

Say, "He is the Most Merciful; we have believed in Him, and upon Him we have relied. And you will [come to] know who it is that is in clear error."

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "அவன்தான் ரஹ்மான். அவனையே நாங்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டிருக்கின்றோம். அவனையே நாங்கள் நம்பியும் இருக்கின்றோம். ஆகவே, பகிரங்கமான வழிகேட்டில் இருப்பவர்கள் யாரென்பதை அதிசீக்கிரத்தில் நீங்கள் அறிந்துகொள்வீர்கள்."

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்: (எங்களைக் காப்பவன்) அவனே - அர்ரஹ்மான்; அவன் மீதே நாங்கள் ஈமான் கொண்டோம்; மேலும் அவனையே முற்றிலும் சார்ந்திருக்கிறோம் - எனவே, வெகு சீக்கிரத்தில் பகிரங்கமான வழி கேட்டிலிருப்பவர் யார் என்பதை நீங்கள் அறிவீர்கள்!”

“அவன் தான் ரஹ்மான், அவனையே நாங்கள் விசுவாசித்திருக்கின்றோம், (எங்கள் காரியங்களை ஒப்படைத்து முழுமையாக) அவன் மீதே நம்பிக்கையும் வைத்திருக்கிறோம், ஆகவே, தெளிவான வழிகேட்டிலிருப்பவர் யாரென்பதை நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொள்வீர்கள்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக!

Say, “He is the Most Compassionate; we believe in Him and put our trust in Him. You will come to know who is clearly misguided.”

Qul araaytum in asbaha maokum ghawran faman yateekum bimain maAAeenin

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "Tell me! If (all) your water were to sink away, who then can supply you with flowing (spring) water?"

Say, "Have you considered: if your water was to become sunken [into the earth], then who could bring you flowing water?"

(பின்னும் நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "(நீங்கள் குடிக்கும்) தண்ணீர் பூமிக்குள் வெகு ஆழத்தில் சென்றுவிட்டால், பிறகு தண்ணீரின் (வேறொரு) ஊற்றை உங்களுக்குக் கொண்டு வருபவன் யாரென்று கவனித்தீர்களா?

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்: உங்களின் தண்ணீர் பூமியினுள் (உறிஞ்சப்பட்டுப்) போய்விட்டால், அப்பொழுது ஓடும் நீரை உங்களுக்குக் கொண்டு வருபவன் யார்? என்பதை கவனித்தீர்களா? என்று (எனக்கு அறிவியுங்கள்).

“உங்களுடைய தண்ணீர் (நீங்கள் பெறமுடியாதவாறு)) பூமியினுள் (இழுக்கப்பட்டு வெகு ஆழத்தில்) சென்றுவிட்டால், பொங்கி ஓடும் நீரை உங்களுக்குக் கொண்டு வருபவன் யார், என எனக்குத் தெரிவியுங்கள்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக!

Say, “What do you think, if your water were to sink deep into the earth, who can bring you flowing water?”
