By the mount

தூர் என்னும் மலையின் மீது சத்தியமாக!

தூர் (மலை) மீது சத்தியமாக!

தூர் (மலை) மீது சத்தியமாக!

By the mount of Tūr,

Wakitabin mastoorin

And by the Book Inscribed.

And [by] a Book inscribed

விரித்த ஏட்டில் வரி வரியாக

எழுதப்பட்ட வேதத்தின் மீது சத்தியமாக!

எழுதப்பட்ட நூலின் மீது சத்தியமாக!

and by the Book inscribed

Fee raqqin manshoorin

In parchment unrolled.

In parchment spread open

எழுதப்பட்ட வேத நூலின் மீது சத்தியமாக!

விரித்து வைக்கப்பட்ட ஏட்டில்- 

விரித்துவைக்கப்பட்ட ஏட்டில்_

on an unrolled parchment,

Waalbayti almaAAmoori

And by Al-Bait Al-Ma'mûr (the house over the heavens parallel to the Ka'bah at Makkah, continuously visited by the angels);

And [by] the frequented House

பைத்துல் மஃமூர் (என்னும் ஆலயத்தின்) மீது சத்தியமாக!

பைத்துல் மஃமூர் மீது சத்தியமாக!

பைத்துல் மஃமூர் மீது சத்தியமாக!

and by the much-frequented House [in heaven],

Waalssaqfi almarfooAAi

And by the roof raised high (i.e. the heaven).

And [by] the heaven raised high

உயர்ந்த முகட்டின் மீது சத்தியமாக!

உயர்த்தப்பட்ட முகட்டின் மீது சத்தியமாக!

உயர்த்தப்பட்ட முகட்டின் மீது சத்தியமாக!

and by the canopy raised high,

Waalbahri almasjoori

And by the sea kept filled (or it will be fire kindled on the Day of Resurrection).

And [by] the sea filled [with fire],

(தொடர்ந்து) அலைகள் மோதிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் சமுத்திரத்தின் மீது சத்தியமாக!

பொங்கும் கடலின் மீது சத்தியமாக!

(நெருப்பினால்) மூட்டப்பட்ட கடலின் மீது சத்தியமாக!

and by the sea ever filled.

Inna AAathaba rabbika lawaqiAAun

Verily, the torment of your Lord will surely come to pass.

Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur.

(நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக உங்களது இறைவனின் வேதனை (அவர்களுக்கு) வந்தே தீரும்.

நிச்சயமாக உம்முடைய இறைவன் (விதித்திருக்கும்) வேதனை சம்பவிக்கும்.

(நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக உமதிரட்சகனின் வேதனை (அவர்களுக்கு) நிகழும்_

The punishment of your Lord will surely come to pass;

Ma lahu min dafiAAin

There is none that can avert it.

Of it there is no preventer.

எவராலும் அதனைத் தடுக்க முடியாது.

அதனைத் தடுப்பவர் எவருமில்லை.

அதனைத் தடுப்பவர் எவருமில்லை.

there is none who can avert it.

Yawma tamooru alssamao mawran

On the Day when the heaven will shake with a dreadful shaking,

On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion

வானமும் துடிதுடித்துக் குமுறும் நாளில்,

வானம் துடித்துச் சுற்றிக் குமுறும் நாளில்;

வானம் கடுமையாக அசைந்து (திருகையைப் போன்று) சுற்றும் நாளில்,

On the Day when the heaven will convulse violently,

Wataseeru aljibalu sayran

And the mountains will move away with a (horrible) movement.

And the mountains will pass on, departing -

மலைகள் (பெயர்ந்து) பறந்தோடும் (நாளில்)

இன்னும், மலைகள் தூள் தூளாகி விடும் போது,

இன்னும், மலைகள் (இடம் பெயர்ந்து) ஒரே நடையாக நடக்கும்.

and the mountains will move a horrible movement,

Fawaylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena

Then woe that Day to the deniers.

Then woe, that Day, to the deniers,

(நபியே! உங்களைப்) பொய்யாக்கும் இவர்களுக்கு அந்நாளில் கேடுதான்.

(சன்மார்க்கத்தை எதிர்த்து அதைப்) பொய்யாக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தோருக்கு அந்நாளில் கேடுதான்.

(நபியே! உம்மைப்) பொய்ப்பித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தோருக்கு அந்நாளில் கேடுதான்.

then woe to the deniers on that Day,

Allatheena hum fee khawdin yalAAaboona

Who are playing in falsehood.

Who are in [empty] discourse amusing themselves.

அவர்கள் (வீண் விதண்டாவாதத்தில்) மூழ்கி விளையாடிக் கொண்டு இருக்கின்றனர்.

எவர்கள் (பொய்யானவற்றில்) மூழ்கி விளையாடிக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றனரோ,

அவர்கள் எத்தகையோரென்றால், வீண் விதண்டாவாதத்தில் (மூழ்கி) விளையாடுகின்றனர்.

those who amuse themselves in falsehood.

Yawma yudaAAAAoona ila nari jahannama daAAAAan

The Day when they will be pushed down by force to the fire of Hell, with a horrible, forceful pushing.

The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say],

அவர்கள் நரகத்தின் பக்கம் (அடித்து) வெருட்டி ஓட்டப்படும் நாளில்,

அந்நாளில் அவர்கள் நரக நெருப்பின் பால் இழுக்கப்படுவோராக இழுக்கப்படுவர்.

அவர்கள் நரகத்தின்பால் ஒரே தள்ளாகத் தள்ளப்படும் நாளில்.

On the Day when they will be shoved into the Fire forcefully,

Hathihi alnnaru allatee kuntum biha tukaththiboona

This is the Fire which you used to deny.

"This is the Fire which you used to deny.

(அவர்களை நோக்கி) "நீங்கள் பொய்யாக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்த நரக நெருப்பு இதுதான்" என்று கூறப்படும்.

அந்நாளில்: (அவர்களுக்குக் கூறப்படும்:) “நீங்கள் பொய்யாக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்த (நரக) நெருப்பு இதுதான்.

(அவர்களிடம்) “நீங்கள் எதனைப் பொய்யாக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தீர்களோ, அந்(நரக) நெருப்பு இதுதான்” (என்று கூறப்படும்.)

[They will be told,] “This is the Fire which you used to deny.

Afasihrun hatha am antum la tubsiroona

Is this magic or do you not see?

Then is this magic, or do you not see?

இது வெறும் சூனியம்தானா? இதனை நீங்கள் (உங்கள் கண்ணால்) பார்க்கவில்லையா?

“இது சூனியம் தானா? அல்லது பார்க்க முடியாது (குருடர்களாக) ஆகிவிட்டீர்களா?

“எனவே இது (வெறும்) சூனியம்தானா? அல்லது (இதனை) நீங்கள் (உங்கள் கண்ணால்) காணமுடியாதவர்களாகி விட்டீர்களா?”

Is this [punishment] magic, or do you not see?

Islawha faisbiroo aw la tasbiroo sawaon AAalaykum innama tujzawna ma kuntum taAAmaloona

Taste you therein its heat and whether you are patient or impatient, it is all the same. You are only being requited for what you used to do.

[Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do."

அதில் நுழைந்து விடுங்கள். (அதன் வேதனையைப் பொறுத்துச்) சகித்துக் கொண்டிருங்கள்; அல்லது சகிக்காதிருங்கள். (இரண்டும்) உங்களுக்குச் சமமே! (வேதனையில் ஓர் அணுவளவும் குறைக்க முடியாது.) நீங்கள் செய்தவைகளுக்குரிய கூலிதான் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும்.

“நீங்கள் அதில் நுழையுங்கள்; பிறகு நீங்கள் (அதன் வேதனையைச்) சகித்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள்; அல்லது சகித்துக் கொள்ளாதிருங்கள்; (இரண்டும்) உங்களுக்குச் சமமே; நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவற்றிற்காகத்தான் நீங்கள் கூலி கொடுக்கப்படுகிறீர்கள்.”

“இதில் நீங்கள் நுழைந்து விடுங்கள், (இதன் வேதனையைச் சகித்துப்) பொறுமையாயிருங்கள், அல்லது பொறுமையாய் இல்லாதிருங்கள், (இரண்டும்) உங்களுக்குச் சமமே, (வேதனையில் ஓர் அணுவளவும் குறைக்கப் படமாட்டீர்கள்). நீங்கள் கூலி கொடுக்கப்படுவதெல்லாம் நீங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவற்றிற்குத்தான்” (என்று கூறப்படும்).

Burn in it, whether you bear it patiently or impatiently, it makes no difference to you; you are recompensed only for what you used to do.”

Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatin wanaAAeemin

Verily, the Muttaqûn (the pious. See V.2:2) will be in Gardens (Paradise) and Delight.

Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure,

அல்லாஹ்வுக்குப் பயந்து நடந்தவர்கள் நிச்சயமாக மிக சுகம் தரும் சுவனபதிகளில் இ(ன்பம் அனுபவித்துக் கொண்டி) ருப்பார்கள்.

நிச்சயமாக, பயபக்தியுடையவர்கள் சுவர்க்கச் சோலைகளிலும், (இறையருளில்) இன்புற்றும் இருப்பார்கள்.

நிச்சயமாக பயபக்தியுடையவர்கள் சுவனபதிகளிலும், (அல்லாஹ்வின்) அருட்கொடையிலும் (திளைத்து) இருப்பார்கள்.

Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and bliss,

Fakiheena bima atahum rabbuhum wawaqahum rabbuhum AAathaba aljaheemi

Enjoying that which their Lord has bestowed on them, and (the fact that) their Lord saved them from the torment of the blazing Fire.

Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire.

தங்கள் இறைவன் தங்களுக்கு அளித்திருப்பவைகளைப் பற்றியும், நரக வேதனையிலிருந்து தங்களைத் தங்கள் இறைவன் பாதுகாத்துக் கொண்டதைப் பற்றியும் மகிழ்ச்சியடைந்தவர்களாக இருப்பார்கள்.

அவர்களுடைய இறைவன் அவர்களுக்கு அளித்ததை அனுபவித்தவர்களாகயிருப்பார்கள் - அன்றியும், அவர்களுடைய இறைவன் நரக வேதனையிலிருந்து அவர்களைப் பாதுகாத்துக் கொண்டான்.

தங்கள் இரட்சகன் தங்களுக்கு அளித்திருப்பவைகளை அனுபவித்தவர்களாக இருப்பர், மேலும், அவர்களின் இரட்சகன் அவர்களை நரக வேதனையிலிருந்து காத்துக் கொண்டான்.

enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of the Blazing Fire.

Kuloo waishraboo haneean bima kuntum taAAmaloona

"Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do."

[They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do."

(அவர்களை நோக்கி) "நீங்கள் செய்த நன்மைகளின் காரணமாக (இதில் உள்ளவைகளை) மிக்க தாராளமாகப் புசித்துக் கொண்டும், பருகிக் கொண்டும் இருங்கள்" (என்றும் கூறப்படும்).

(அவர்களுக்குக் கூறப்படும்:) “நீங்கள் (நன்மைகளைச்) செய்து கொண்டிருந்ததற்காக, (சுவர்க்கத்தில்) தாராளமாகப் புசியுங்கள், பருகுங்கள்.”

(அவர்களிடம் உலகில் நன்மைகளிலிருந்து) “நீங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவற்றுக்காக மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் உண்ணுங்கள் இன்னும் பருகுங்கள்” (என்றும் கூறப்படும்).

“Eat and drink pleasantly for what you used to do,

Muttakieena AAala sururin masfoofatin wazawwajnahum bihoorin AAeenin

They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry them to Hûr (fair females) with wide lovely eyes.

They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes.

அணி அணியாகப் போடப்பட்ட கட்டில்களி(ல் உள்ள பஞ்சணைகளி)ன் மீது சாய்ந்தவண்ணமாக இருப்பார்கள். நாம் அவர்களுக்கு ("ஹூருல்ஈன்" என்னும்) கண்ணழகிகளாகிய கன்னிப் பெண்களை திருமணம் செய்து வைப்போம்.

அணி அணியாகப் போடப்பட்ட மஞ்சங்களின் மீது சாய்ந்தவர்களாக அவர்கள் இருப்பார்கள்; மேலும், நாம் அவர்களுக்கு, நீண்ட கண்களையுடைய (ஹூருல் ஈன்களை) மணம் முடித்து வைப்போம்.

அணியணியாகப் போடப்பட்ட கட்டில்களி(ல் உள்ள மஞ்சங்களி)ன் மீது சாய்ந்தவர்களாக அவர்கள் இருப்பார்கள், நாம் அவர்களுக்கு (ஹூருல் ஈன் என்னும்) கண்ணழகி(களாகிய கன்னிகை)களை மணமுடித்து வைப்போம்.

reclining on lined up couches”. And We will marry them to houris of wide beautiful eyes.

Waallatheena amanoo waittabaAAathum thurriyyatuhum bieemanin alhaqna bihim thurriyyatahum wama alatnahum min AAamalihim min shayin kullu imriin bima kasaba raheenun

And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith, – to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything. Every person is a pledge for that which he has earned.

And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained.

எந்த நம்பிக்கையாளர்களின் சந்ததிகள், தங்கள் பெற்றோர்களைப் பின்பற்றி நம்பிக்கை கொள்கின்றார்களோ (அந்தச் சந்ததிகளின் நன்மைகள் குறைவாக இருந்தும் அவர்களின் பெற்றோர்கள் திருப்தியடையும் பொருட்டு) அவர்களுடைய சந்ததிகளையும் அவர்களுடன் (சுவனபதியில்) சேர்த்துவிடுவோம். இதனால் அவர்களுடைய பெற்றோர்களின் நன்மைகளில் ஒன்றையுமே நாம் குறைத்துவிட மாட்டோம். ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனும் தன்னுடைய செயலுக்குப் பிணையாக இருக்கின்றான்.

எவர்கள் ஈமான் கொண்டு, அவர்களுடைய சந்ததியாரும் ஈமானில் அவர்களைப் பின் தொடர்கிறார்களோ, அவர்களுடைய அந்த சந்ததியினரை அவர்களுடன் (சுவனத்தில் ஒன்று) சேர்த்து விடுவோம். (இதனால்) அவர்களுடைய செயல்களில் எந்த ஒன்றையும், நாம் அவர்களுக்குக் குறைத்து விட மாட்டோம் - ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனும் தான் சம்பாதித்த செயல்களுக்குப் பிணையாக இருக்கின்றான்.

இன்னும் விசுவாசங்கொண்டார்களே அத்தகையோர், அவர்களுடைய சந்ததிகளும் விசுவாசத்தின் மூலம் அவர்களை பின்பற்றினார்கள், (அத்தகைய அந்தச் சந்ததியினரின் படித்தரங்கள் குறைவாக இருப்பினும் அவர்களின் பெற்றோர்கள் இருக்கும் உயர் பதவிக்கு) அவர்களுடன் (சுவனபதியில்) அவர்களின் சந்ததியினரை சேர்த்து விடுவோம், (இதனால்) அவர்களுடைய (பெற்றோர்களின் நன்மையான) செயல்களில் எதனையும் அவர்களுக்கு நாம் குறைத்து விடமாட்டோம், ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனும் தான் சம்பாதித்ததைக் கொண்டு பிணையாக்கபட்டிருக்கின்றான்.

As for those who believe and their offspring follow them in faith, We will cause their offspring to join them, and will not detract anything from [the reward of] their deeds. Everyone will be accountable for what he earned.

Waamdadnahum bifakihatin walahmin mimma yashtahoona

And We shall provide them with fruit and meat such as they desire.

And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire.

அவர்கள் விரும்பிய (பற்பல வகை) கனி வர்க்கங்களையும், மாமிசங்களையும் அவர்களுக்கு (அனுதினமும்) நாம் (ஏராளமாகக்) கொடுத்து வருவோம்.

இன்னும் அவர்கள் விரும்பும் கனிவகைகளையும் இறைச்சியையும், நாம் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்துக் கொண்டிருப்போம்.

(பல வகையான) பழத்தையும், அவர்கள் விரும்பக்கூடியதிலிருந்து (பலவகையான) இறைச்சியையும் கொண்டு அவர்களும் நாம் (ஏராளமாகக் கொடுத்து) அதிகப்படுத்துவோம்.

And We will provide them with whatever fruit and meat they desire.

YatanazaAAoona feeha kasan la laghwun feeha wala tatheemun

There they shall pass from hand to hand a (wine) cup, free from any Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk between them), and free from sin (because it will be lawful for them to drink).

They will exchange with one another a cup [of wine] wherein [results] no ill speech or commission of sin.

ஒருவருடைய கிண்ணத்தை மற்றொருவர் (களிப்பால்) பிடுங்கிக் கொள்வார். (அதனால்) மனத்தாங்கலோ அல்லது மரியாதைக்குறைவோ ஏற்படாது.

(அமுதம் நிறைந்த) ஒருவர் கோப்பையை மற்றொருவர் பறித்துக் கொள்வர்; ஆனால் அதில் வீணுமில்லை, குற்றமிழைப்பதும் இல்லை.

அ(ச்சுவனத்)தில் ஒருவருக்கொருவர் (மதுக்) கோப்பையை பரிமாறிக் கொள்வர், (அதில்) வீணானது இருக்காது, (அதை அருந்துவதால்) குற்றமிழைப்பதோ ஏற்படுவதில்லை.

They will pass around to one another a glass [of pure wine] which does not lead to idle talk or sin.

Wayatoofu AAalayhim ghilmanun lahum kaannahum luluon maknoonun

And there will go round boy-servants of theirs, to serve them as if they were preserved pearls.

There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected.

அவர்களுக்குப் பணி செய்ய எந்நேரமும் சிறுவர்கள் பலர் சுற்றிக்கொண்டே இருப்பார்கள். அவர்கள் பதிந்த முத்துக்களைப் போல் (பிரகாசமாகத் தோற்றமளிப்பார்கள்.)

அவர்களுக்கு(ப் பணி விடைக்கு) உள்ள சிறுவர்கள், அவர்களைச் சுற்றிக் கொண்டே இருப்பார்கள்; அவர்கள் பதித்த ஆணி முத்துகளைப் போல் (இருப்பார்கள்).

மேலும், அவர்களுக்குரிய (பணிபுரியும்) சிறுவர்கள் அவர்களைச் சுற்றிகொண்டே இருப்பார்கள், அவர்கள் (சிப்பிகளில்) மறைத்து வைக்கப்பட்ட (கைபடாத) முத்துக்களைப் போல் (பிரகாசமான தோற்றமளிப்பவர்களாக) இருப்பர்.

They will be served by their servant boys, as if they were well-protected pearls.

Waaqbala baAAduhum AAala baAAdin yatasaaloona

And some of them draw near to others, questioning.

And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other.

அவர்களில் ஒருவர் மற்றொருவரை நோக்கியிருந்து கொண்டு (உல்லாசமாக) உரையாட ஆரம்பித்து,

அவர்களில் சிலர் சிலரை முன்னோக்கி விசாரித்துக் கொள்வார்கள்.

மேலும், அவர்கள் ஒருவருக்கொருவர் விசாரித்துக் கொள்பவர்களாக அவர்களில் சிலர் (மற்ற) சிலரின் பால் முன்னோக்கியிருப்பார்கள்.

They will turn to one another with questions.

Qaloo inna kunna qablu fee ahlina mushfiqeena

Saying: "Aforetime, we were afraid (of the punishment of Allâh) in the midst of our families.

They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah].

"இதற்கு முன்னர், நாம் நம்முடைய குடும்பத்தைப் பற்றி (அவர்களுடைய கதி என்னவாகுமோ என்று) மெய்யாகவே பயந்து கொண்டே இருந்தோம்.

“இதற்கு முன் (உலகில்) நாம் நம் குடும்பத்தாரிடையே இருந்த போது (வேதனை பற்றி) நிச்சயமாக அஞ்சியவர்களாகவே இருந்தோம்.

“நாங்கள் முன்பு, எங்கள் குடும்பத்தாரிடையே (அவர்களுடைய நிலை என்னவாகுமோ என்று) நிச்சயமாக பயந்தவர்களாக இருந்தோம்” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

They will say, “Before this, we used to be in awe [of Allah] when we were living among our people.

Famanna Allahu AAalayna wawaqana AAathaba alssamoomi

"So Allâh has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of the Fire.

So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire.

ஆயினும், அல்லாஹ் நம்மீது அருள் புரிந்து கொடிய வேதனையிலிருந்து நம்மை(யும் நம் குடும்பத்தினரையும்) காப்பாற்றினான்.

“ஆனால் அல்லாஹ் நம்மீது உபகாரம் செய்து கொடிய வேதனையிலிருந்து நம்மை காப்பாற்றினான்.

“ஆயினும், அல்லாஹ் எங்கள் மீது பேருபகாரம் செய்து நெருப்பின் வேதனையிலிருந்து எங்களைக் காத்துவிட்டான்.

Therefore Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire.

Inna kunna min qablu nadAAoohu innahu huwa albarru alrraheemu

"Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before. Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful."

Indeed, we used to supplicate Him before. Indeed, it is He who is the Beneficent, the Merciful."

இதற்கு முன்னர் (வேதனையிலிருந்து நம்மை காக்கும்படி) மெய்யாகவே நாம் அவனிடம் பிரார்த்தனை செய்து கொண்டு இருந்தோம். மெய்யாகவே அவன் நன்றி செய்பவனும் பேரன்புடையவனுமாக இருக்கின்றான்" என்றும் கூறுவார்கள்.

“நிச்சயமாக நாம் முன்னே (உலகில்) அவனைப் பிரார்த்தித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தோம்; நிச்சயமாக அவனே மிக்க நன்மை செய்பவன்; பெருங்கிருபையுடையவன்.”  

நிச்சயமாக (இதற்கு) முன்னர் (வேதனையிலிருந்து எங்களைக் காக்குமாறு) நாங்கள் அவனை (பிரார்த்தனை செய்து) அழைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தோம், நிச்சயமாக, அவனே மிகக் கூடுதலாக உபகாரம் செய்பவன், மிகக்கிருபையுடையவன்” (என்றும் கூறுவார்கள்).

Indeed, we used to call upon Him before. He is indeed the Most Kind, Most Merciful.”

Fathakkir fama anta biniAAmati rabbika bikahin wala majnoonin

Therefore, remind (mankind of Islâmic Monotheism, O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]). By the Grace of Allâh, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman.

So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman.

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் (நிராகரிப்பவர்களுக்கு வேதனையை) ஞாபகமூட்டிக்கொண்டே இருங்கள். உங்களது இறைவனின் அருளால் நீங்கள் குறி சொல்பவருமல்ல; பைத்தியக்காரருமல்ல.

எனவே, (நபியே! நீர் மக்களுக்கு நல்லுபதேசத்தால்) நினைவுறுத்திக் கொண்டிருப்பீராக! உம்முடைய இறைவனின் அருளால், நீர் குறிகாரரும் அல்லர்; பைத்தியக்காரருமல்லர்.

ஆகவே, (நபியே! அல்லாஹ்வின் தூதை எத்திவைத்து, அவன் இறக்கிவைத்த குர் ஆனின் மூலம்) அவர்களுக்கு நினைவுபடுத்துவீராக! உமது இரட்சகனின் அருளால் நீர் குறிகாரரல்லர், பைத்திக்காரருமல்லர்.

So keep exhorting [O Prophet], for you are not, by the grace of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman.

Am yaqooloona shaAAirun natarabbasu bihi rayba almanooni

Or do they say: "(Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] is) a poet! We await for him some calamity by time!"

Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?"

(உங்களைப் பற்றி) அவர்கள் (நீங்கள்) ஒரு கவிஞர்தான் என்று கூறுகின்றனரா? (இக்கூற்றுக்குத் தண்டனையாக அவர்கள் மீது சம்பவிக்கக் கூடிய) காலச்சக்கரத்தை எதிர்பார்த்திருப்போம்.

அல்லது அவர்கள் (உம்மைப் பற்றி, “அவர்) புலவர்; அவருக்குக் காலத்தின் துன்பத்தைக் கொண்டு நாங்கள் வழி பார்த்துக் இருக்கிறோம்” என்று கூறுகிறார்களா?

அல்லது_(உம்மைப்பற்றி, ”அவர்) ஒரு கவிஞர் தாம், அவருக்கு (இறப்பெனும்) காலச்சூழலை நாம் எதிர்பார்த்திருப்போம்” என்று அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனரா?

Or do they say: “He is a poet for whom we await a misfortune”?

Qul tarabbasoo fainnee maAAakum mina almutarabbiseena

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] to them): "Wait! I am with you among the waiters!"

Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters."

ஆகவே (அவர்களை நோக்கி, அதனை) "நீங்களும் எதிர் பார்த்திருங்கள். (என்ன நடக்கிறது என்பதை) நிச்சயமாக நானும் உங்களுடன் எதிர்பார்த்திருக்கின்றேன்" என்று கூறுங்கள்.

“நீங்களும் வழி பார்த்திருங்கள் - நிச்சயமாக நானும் உங்களுடன் வழி பார்க்கிறேன்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்.

(ஆகவே, அவர்களிடம் “அதனை) நீங்கள் எதிர்பார்த்திருங்கள், (என்ன நடக்கிறதென்பதை நிச்சயமாக நான் உங்களுடன் எதிர்பார்ப்பவர்களிலுள்ளவன்” என்று கூறுவீராக!

Say, “Wait, I too am waiting with you.”

Am tamuruhum ahlamuhum bihatha am hum qawmun taghoona

Or do their minds command them this [i.e. to tell a lie against you (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam])] or are they a people transgressing all bounds?

Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people?

(நபியே! உங்களை குறிகாரர் என்றும், பைத்தியக்காரர் என்றும் கூறும்படி) அவர்களுடைய அறிவுதான் அவர்களைத் தூண்டுகின்றதா? அல்லது (இயற்கையாகவே) அவர்கள் விஷமிகள்தானா?

அல்லது, அவர்களுடைய புத்திகள் தாம் அவர்களை இவ்வா(றெல்லாம் பேசுமா)று ஏவுகின்றனவா? அல்லது அவர்கள் வரம்பு மீறிய சமூகத்தாரா?

“அல்லது (நபியே! உம்மை பற்றி கவிஞர், பைத்தியக்காரர், குறிகாரர் என்றெல்லாம் கூறுமாறு) அவர்களுடைய அறிவுகள்தான் இவ்வாறு அவர்களை ஏவுகின்றனவா? அல்லது அவர்கள் வரம்புமீறிய கூட்டத்தினரா?”

Do their minds prompt them to say such things, or are they a transgressing people?

Am yaqooloona taqawwalahu bal la yuminoona

Or do they say: "He (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) has forged it (this Qur'ân)?" Nay! They believe not!

Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe.

அல்லது (நமது நபியாகிய) இவர் பொய்யாகவே அதனைக் கற்பனை செய்து கொண்டாரென்று அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனரா? அன்று! (மனமுரண்டாகவே) இதனை அவர்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொள்வதில்லை.

அல்லது, இ(வ்வேதத்)தை நீர் இட்டுக் கட்டினீர் என்று அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனரா? அல்ல. அவர்கள் ஈமான் கொள்ள மாட்டார்கள்.

அல்லது, “அவர் அதனைக் கற்பனை செய்து கொண்டார்” என்று அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனரா? இல்லை! அவர்கள் விசுவாசங்கொள்ள மாட்டார்கள்.

Or do they say, “He has made it [the Qur’an] up”? Rather, they are not willing to believe.

Falyatoo bihadeethin mithlihi in kanoo sadiqeena

Let them then produce a recitation like it (the Qur'ân) if they are truthful.

Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful.

(நபியே! இதனை நீங்கள் பொய்யாகக் கற்பனை செய்து கொண்டீரென்று கூறுவதில்) அவர்கள் உண்மை சொல்பவர் களாயிருந்தால் (அவர்களும் கற்பனை செய்துகொண்டு) இதைப் போன்ற யாதொரு வாக்கியத்தைக் கொண்டு வரவும்.

ஆகவே, (இவ்வாறெல்லாம் கூறும்) அவர்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால், இ(வ்வேதத்)தைப் போன்ற ஒரு செய்தியை அவர்கள் கொண்டு வரட்டும்.

எனவே, (நபியே! இவ்வாறு கூறுவதில்) அவர்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால், இதைப்போன்ற செய்தியை அவர்கள் கொண்டு வரட்டும்.

Then let them produce a discourse like this, if they are truthful.

Am khuliqoo min ghayri shayin am humu alkhaliqoona

Or were they created by nothing? Or were they themselves the creators?

Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]?

அல்லது இவர்கள் எவருடைய படைப்பும் இல்லாமல் தாமாகவே உண்டாகி விட்டனரா? அல்லது இவர்கள் தம்மைத்தாமே படைத்துக் கொண்டனரா?

அல்லது, அவர்கள் எந்தப் பொருளின்றியும் (தாமாகவே) படைக்கப்பட்டனரா? அல்லது அவர்கள் (எதையும்) படைக்கிற (சக்தியுடைய)வர்களா?

அல்லது, அவர்கள் எப்பொருளுமின்றி (தாமகாவே) படைக்கப்பட்டு விட்டனரா? அல்லது அவர்கள்தான் படைக்கின்றவர்களா?

Were they created by none, or were they the creators [of themselves]?

Am khalaqoo alssamawati waalarda bal la yooqinoona

Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no firm Belief.

Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain.

அல்லது வானங்களையும் பூமியையும் இவர்கள் படைத்தார்களா? அன்று. (இவைகளை எல்லாம் படைத்தவன் அல்லாஹ்தான். அவனை) இவர்கள் நம்புவதில்லை.

அல்லது, வானங்களையும் பூமியையும் அவர்கள் படைத்தார்களா? அல்ல. அவர்கள் உறுதி கொள்ளமாட்டார்கள்.

அல்லது, வானங்களையும், பூமியையும் அவர்கள் படைத்தார்களா? அல்ல! (இவைகளையெல்லாம் படைத்தவன் அல்லாஹ்தான்! அவனை) இவர்கள் உறுதி கொள்ள மாட்டார்கள்.

Or did they create the heavens and earth? Rather, they are not certain in faith.

Am AAindahum khazainu rabbika am humu almusaytiroona

Or are with them the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the tyrants with the authority to do as they like?

Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]?

அல்லது இவர்களிடமே உங்களது இறைவனின் பொக்கிஷங்கள் அனைத்தும் இருக்கின்றனவா? அல்லது இவர்கள் அதனைப் பங்கிடக்கூடிய அதிகாரிகளா?

அல்லது, அவர்களிடம் உம்முடைய இறைவனின் பொக்கிஷங்கள் இருக்கின்றனவா? அல்லது இவர்கள் தாம் (எல்லாவற்றையும்) அடக்கியாள்பவர்களா?

அல்லது, அவர்களிடம் உமதிரட்சகனின் களஞ்சியங்கள் இருக்கின்றனவா? அல்லது இவர்களே (அவற்றை) ஆதிக்கம் செலுத்துபவர்களா?

Or do they possess the treasures of your Lord, or do they have full control [of everything]?

Am lahum sullamun yastamiAAoona feehi falyati mustamiAAuhum bisultanin mubeenin

Or have they a stairway (to heaven), by means of which they listen (to the talks of the angels)? Then let their listener produce some manifest proof.

Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority.

அல்லது இவர்களுக்கு (வானத்தில் ஏறக்கூடிய) ஏணி இருந்து (அங்குச் சென்று, அங்கு நடைபெறும் பேச்சுகளைக்) கேட்டு வருகின்றனரா? அவ்வாறாயின், (அவைகளை) இவர்கள் கேட்டு வந்ததற்குத் தெளிவான ஓர் ஆதாரத்தைக் கொண்டு வரவும்.

அல்லது, அவர்களுக்கு ஏணி இருந்து அதன் மூலம் (வானத்தின் இரகசியங்களை) கேட்டு வருகின்றார்களா? அவ்வாறாயின், அவர்களில் கேட்டு வந்தவர் செவியேற்றதைத் தெளிவான ஆதாரத்துடன் கொண்டு வரட்டும்.

அல்லது, இவர்களுக்கு (வானத்தில் ஏறிச்செல்ல) ஏணி இருந்து, அதில் (ஏறி அங்கு பேசப்படுபவற்றைச்) செவிமடுக்கிறார்களா? அவ்வாறாயின், அவர்களில் கேட்டு வந்தவர் தெளிவான ஒரு சான்றைக் கொண்டு வரட்டும்.

Or do they have a stairway [to the heaven] by which they eavesdrop? Then let those who eavesdrop produce a compelling proof.

Am lahu albanatu walakumu albanoona

Or has He (Allâh) only daughters and you have sons?

Or has He daughters while you have sons?

அல்லது (நீங்கள் கூறுகின்றபடி) அல்லாஹ்வுக்குப் பெண் சந்ததிகள்; உங்களுக்கு மட்டும் ஆண் சந்ததிகளா?

அல்லது, அவனுக்குப் பெண் மக்களும் உங்களுக்கு ஆண் மக்களுமா?

அல்லது, (உங்கள் கற்பனைகளில் உள்ளவாறு அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) அவனுக்குப் பெண் மக்களும், உங்களுக்கு (மட்டும்) ஆண் மக்களுமா?

Or does He have daughters while you have sons?

Am tasaluhum ajran fahum min maghramin muthqaloona

Or is it that you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) ask a wage from them (for your preaching of Islâmic Monotheism) so that they are burdened with a load of debt?

Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down?

அல்லது நீங்கள் ஏதும் அவர்களிடம் கூலி கேட்டு அந்தப் பளுவை இவர்கள் சுமக்க முடியாமல் இருக்கின்றனரா?

அல்லது, நீர் அவர்களிடம் ஏதாவது கூலி கேட்டு, (அதைக் கொடுத்ததினால்) அவர்கள் கடன் பட்டு சுமையேற்றப்பட்டிருக்கின்றார்களா,

அல்லது, அவர்களிடம் நீர் ஏதேனும் கூலி கேட்கிறீரா? எனவே அவர்கள் கடனால் பளுவாக்கப்பட்டவர்களா?

Or are you asking them [O Prophet] for a reward so they find it too burdensome?

Am AAindahumu alghaybu fahum yaktuboona

Or that the Ghaib (Unseen) is with them, and they write it down?

Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down?

அல்லது இவர்களிடம் மறைவான விஷய(த்தின் ஞான)ம் இருக்கின்றதா? இவர்கள் (அதனை அல்லாஹ்வைப் போல்) எழுதி வருகின்றனரா?

அல்லது, அவர்களிடம் மறைவான செய்திகளிலிருந்து, அவற்றை அவர்கள் எழுதுகின்றார்களா,

அல்லது, அவர்களிடம் (அல்லாஹ்வைப் போல்) மறைவானது (அது பற்றிய அறிவு) இருக்கிறதா? எனவே அவர்கள் (அதனை) எழுதுகிறார்களா?

Or do they have [knowledge of] the unseen so they are writing it down?

Am yureedoona kaydan faallatheena kafaroo humu almakeedoona

Or do they intend a plot (against you O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam])? But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allâh – Islâmic Monotheism) are themselves plotted against!

Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan.

அல்லது யாதொரு சூழ்ச்சி செய்ய இவர்கள் கருது கின்றனரா? அவ்வாறாயின், இந்நிராகரிப்பவர்கள்தாம் சூழ்ச்சிக் குள்ளாவார்கள்.

அல்லது, அவர்கள் (உமக்கு எதிராக) ஏதாவது சூழ்ச்சி செய்ய நாடுகிறார்களா, அப்படியானால், அந்த காஃபிர்கள் தாம் சூழச்சிக்குள்ளாவார்கள்.

அல்லது ஏதேனுமொரு சூழ்ச்சி செய்ய அவர்கள் நாடுகிறார்களா? அவ்வாறாயின், நிராகரித்தார்களே அவர்கள்தாம் சூழ்ச்சிக்குள்ளாக்கப்படுபவர்கள்.

Or do they intend a plot [against the Prophet]? But the plot of the disbelievers will rebound against themselves.

Am lahum ilahun ghayru Allahi subhana Allahi AAamma yushrikoona

Or have they an ilâh (a god) other than Allâh? Glorified is Allâh from all that they ascribe as partners (to Him)

Or have they a deity other than Allah? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him.

அல்லது அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி இவர்களுக்கு வணக்கத்திற்குரிய வேறொரு இறைவன் இருக்கின்றானா? இவர்கள் இணை வைப்பவைகளை விட்டும் அல்லாஹ் மிக்க பரிசுத்தமானவன்.

அல்லது, அவர்கள் அல்லாஹ் அல்லாமல் (வேறு) நாயன் இருக்கின்றானா, அவர்கள் இணை வைப்பதை விட்டும் அல்லாஹ் மிகத் தூயவன்.

அல்லது, அவர்களுக்கு அல்லாஹ் அல்லாத (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய வேறு) நாயன் இருக்கின்றானா? அவர்கள் இணைவைப்பதை விட்டும் அல்லாஹ் மிகத் தூயவன்.

Or do they have a god other than Allah? Glory be to Allah far above what they associate with Him.

Wain yaraw kisfan mina alssamai saqitan yaqooloo sahabun markoomun

And if they were to see pieces of the heaven falling down, they would say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!"

And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up."

வானம் இடிந்து அதிலிருந்த ஒரு துண்டு விழுவதை இவர்கள் கண்ணால் கண்டபோதிலும் (அது வானமல்ல;) மேகம் தான் என்றும், ஆனால் அது உறைந்து இறுகிவிட்டதென்றும் கூறுவார்கள்.

வானத்திலிருந்து ஒரு துண்டு விழுவதை அவர்கள் கண்டார்களானால், அதை அடர்த்தியான மேகம் என்று அவர்கள் கூறிவிடுவார்கள்.

மேலும், வானத்திலிருந்து (இடிந்து) துண்டுகள் விழுவதை அவர்கள் (கண்ணால்) காண்பார்களானால், (அது வானமல்ல,) அது அடர்த்தியான மேகம்தான்” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

If they were to see pieces of the sky falling down, they would still say, “[This is only] a mass of clouds.”

Fatharhum hatta yulaqoo yawmahumu allathee feehi yusAAaqoona

So leave them alone till they meet their Day, in which they will sink into a fainting (with horror).

So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible -

(நபியே!) இவர்களுடைய அறிவு பறந்துவிடக் கூடிய நாளை இவர்கள் சந்திக்கும் வரையில் நீங்கள் இவர்களை விட்டுவிடுங்கள்.

ஆகவே அச்சத்தால் அவர்கள் உணர்விழக்கும் நாளைச் சந்திக்கும்வரை, அவர்களை விட்டு விடுவீர்களாக.

ஆகவே, (நபியே!) எதில் அவர்கள் அழிக்கப்படுவார்களோ, அத்தகைய அவர்களுடைய நாளை அவர்கள் சந்திக்கும் வரையில் நீர் அவர்களை விட்டுவிடுவீராக!

So leave them alone until they encounter their Day in which they will be struck down,

Yawma la yughnee AAanhum kayduhum shayan wala hum yunsaroona

The Day when their plotting shall not avail them at all nor will they be helped (i.e. they will receive their torment in Hell).

The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped.

அந்நாளில் இவர்களுடைய சூழ்ச்சிகள் ஒன்றுமே இவர்களுக்குப் பயனளிக்காது. எவர்களுடைய உதவியும் இவர் களுக்குக் கிடைக்காது.

அந்நாளில், அவர்களுடைய சூழ்ச்சிகள் எதுவும் அவர்களுக்குப் பயன் அளிக்காது; அன்றியும் (எவராலும்) அவர்கள் உதவி செய்யப்படவும் மாட்டார்கள்.

அந்நாளில், அவர்களுடைய சூழ்ச்சிகள் எதுவும் அவர்களுக்குப் பயனளிக்காது, (எவராலும்) அவர்கள் உதவியும் செய்யப்படமாட்டார்கள்.

the Day their plots will not avail them in the least, nor will they be helped.

Wainna lillatheena thalamoo AAathaban doona thalika walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona

And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment (i.e. the torment in this world and in their graves) before this; but most of them know not. (Tafsir At-Tabarî)

And indeed, for those who have wronged is a punishment before that, but most of them do not know.

நிச்சயமாக இவ்வக்கிரமக்காரர்களுக்கு (மறுமையில்) வேதனையன்றி (இம்மையிலும்) வேதனையிருக்கின்றது. எனினும் அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலானவர்கள் (இதனை) அறிந்துகொள்ள மாட்டார்கள்.

அன்றியும், அநியாயம் செய்து கொண்டு இருந்தவர்களுக்கு நிச்சயமாக மற்றொரு வேதனையும் (இம்மையில்) உண்டு எனினும் அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் இதை அறிய மாட்டார்கள்.

அன்றியும், நிச்சயமாக அநியாயம் செய்துகொண்டிருந்தோர்க்கு (மறுமையின் வேதனையாகிய) அதுமட்டுமின்றி (இம்மையில்) மற்றொரு வேதனையுமிருக்கின்றது, எனினும், அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் (இதனை) அறிந்துகொள்ளமாட்டார்கள்.

And for the wrongdoers, there will be another punishment before that, but most of them do not know.

Waisbir lihukmi rabbika fainnaka biaAAyunina wasabbih bihamdi rabbika heena taqoomu

So wait patiently (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) for the Decision of your Lord, for verily, you are under Our Eyes; and glorify the Praises of your Lord when you get up from sleep.

And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord when you arise.

(நபியே!) உங்களது இறைவனின் தீர்ப்பைப் பொறுமையாக எதிர்பார்த்திருங்கள். நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் நம் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாகவே இருக்கின்றீர்கள். (ஆகவே, அவர்கள் உங்களைத் தங்கள் இஷ்டப்படி துன்புறுத்த முடியாது.) ஆயினும், நீங்கள் (நித்திரையிலிருந்து) எழுந்த நேரத்தில் உங்களது இறைவனின் புகழைக் கூறித் துதி செய்வீராக!

எனவே (நபியே!) உம்முடைய இறைவனின் தீர்ப்புக்காகப் பொறுத்திருப்பீராக; நிச்சயமாக நீர் நம் கண்காணிப்பில் இருக்கின்றீர்; மேலும் நீங்கள் எழுந்திருக்கும் சமயத்தில் உம் இறைவனின் புகழைக் கூறித் தஸ்பீஹு செய்வீராக,

மேலும், (நபியே!) உமதிரட்சகனின் தீர்ப்பை (எதிர்பார்த்துப்) பொருத்திருப்பீராக! நிச்சயமாக நீர் நம் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாகவே இருக்கின்றீர், (ஆகவே, அவர்கள் உமக்கு எவ்வித இடையூறும் செய்து விட முடியாது.) மேலும் (நீர் நித்திரையிலிருந்து) எழுந்த நேரத்தில் உமதிரட்சகனின் புகழைக்கொண்டு துதி செய்து கொண்டிருப்பீராக!

Be patient [O Prophet] with your Lord’s decree, for indeed you are under Our [watchful] Eyes. And glorify the praises of your Lord when you rise.

Wamina allayli fasabbihhu waidbara alnnujoomi

And in the nighttime also glorify His Praises – and at the setting of the stars.

And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars.

இரவின் ஒரு பாகத்திலும், நட்சத்திரங்கள் மறையும் (காலை) நேரத்திலும் அவனை துதி செய்து கொண்டிருப்பீராக!

இன்னும், இரவின் ஒரு பாகத்திலும், நட்சத்திரங்கள் அடையும் நேரத்திலும் அவனைத்(துதி செய்து) தஸ்பீஹு செய்வீராக!

இரவின் ஒரு பாகத்திலும், நட்சத்திரங்கள் மறையும் (காலை) நேரத்திலும் அவனைத் துதி செய்து கொண்டிருப்பீராக!

And glorify Him at night and when the stars fade away.
