49 - al-Hujurat (The Chambers)

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tuqaddimoo bayna yadayi Allahi warasoolihi waittaqoo Allaha inna Allaha sameeAAun AAaleemun

O you who believe! Make not (a decision) in advance before Allâh and His Messenger [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam], and fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

O you who have believed, do not put [yourselves] before Allah and His Messenger but fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

நம்பிக்கையாளர்களே! அல்லாஹ்வுக்கும், அவனுடைய தூதருக்கும் முன்பாக(ப் பேசுவதற்கு) நீங்கள் முந்திக் கொள்ளாதீர்கள். அல்லாஹ்வுக்குப் பயந்து நடந்துகொள்ளுங்கள். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (அனைத்தையும்) செவியுறுபவனும், நன்கறிந்தவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

முஃமின்களே! அல்லாஹ்வுக்கும், அவனுடைய தூதருக்கும் முன்னர் (பேசுவதற்கு) நீங்கள் முந்தாதீர்கள்; அல்லாஹ்விடம் பயபக்தியுடன் இருங்கள்; நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (யாவற்றையும்) செவியுறுபவன்; நன்கறிபவன்.

விசுவாசங்கொண்டோரே! அல்லாஹ்வுக்கும், அவனுடைய தூதருக்கும் முன்னிலையில் நீங்கள் முந்தாதீர்கள், மேலும், அல்லாஹ்வை பயந்து கொள்ளுங்கள். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (யாவையும்) செவியேற்கிறவன், நன்கறிகிறவன்.

O you who believe, do not decide [any matter of importance] before Allah and His Messenger, and fear Allah, for Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tarfaAAoo aswatakum fawqa sawti alnnabiyyi wala tajharoo lahu bialqawli kajahri baAAdikum libaAAdin an tahbata aAAmalukum waantum la tashAAuroona

O you who believe! Raise not your voices above the voice of the Prophet [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam], nor speak aloud to him in talk as you speak aloud to one another, lest your deeds should be rendered fruitless while you perceive not.

O you who have believed, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet or be loud to him in speech like the loudness of some of you to others, lest your deeds become worthless while you perceive not.

நம்பிக்கையாளர்களே! (நபி பேசும்பொழுது) நபியுடைய சப்தத்திற்கு மேல் உங்களுடைய சப்தத்தை உயர்த்தாதீர்கள். அன்றி, உங்களுக்குள் ஒருவர் மற்றொருவருடன் கூச்சலிட்டுச் சப்தமாகப் பேசுவதைப் போல், அவரிடம் சப்தத்தை உயர்த்தி நீங்கள் கூச்சல் இட்டுப் பேசாதீர்கள். இதன் காரணமாக உங்களுடைய நன்மைகள் எல்லாம் அழிந்துவிடக்கூடும். (இதனை) நீங்கள் உணர்ந்துகொள்ள முடியாது.

முஃமின்களே! நீங்கள் நபியின் சப்தத்திற்கு மேலே, உங்கள் சப்தங்களை உயர்த்தாதீர்கள்; மேலும், உங்களுக்குள் ஒருவர் மற்றொருவருடன் இரைந்து பேசுவதைப் போல், அவரிடம் நீங்கள் இரைந்து போசாதீர்கள், (இவற்றால்) நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொள்ள முடியாத நிலையில் உங்கள் அமல்கள் அழிந்து போகும்.

விசுவாசிகளே! நபியினுடைய சப்தத்திற்கு மேல் உங்களுடைய சப்தத்தை உயர்த்தாதீர்கள், மேலும், உங்களில் சிலர் மற்ற சிலருடன் உரக்கப் பேசுவதைப் போல், அவரிடம் பேசுவதில் (சப்தத்தை உயர்த்தி) நீங்கள் உரக்கப் பேசாதீர்கள், (ஏனெனில், இதனை) நீங்கள் உணர்ந்துக்கொள்ள முடியாத நிலையில் உங்களுடைய (நன்மையான) செயல்கள் அழிந்துவிடும்.

O you who believe, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, nor speak loudly to him as you speak loudly to one another, lest your deeds become worthless without you realizing it.

Inna allatheena yaghuddoona aswatahum AAinda rasooli Allahi olaika allatheena imtahana Allahu quloobahum lilttaqwa lahum maghfiratun waajrun AAatheemun

Verily, those who lower their voices in the presence of Allâh's Messenger [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam], they are the ones whose hearts Allâh has tested for piety. For them is forgiveness and a great reward.

Indeed, those who lower their voices before the Messenger of Allah - they are the ones whose hearts Allah has tested for righteousness. For them is forgiveness and great reward.

எவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய தூதரின் முன்பாக (மரியாதைக்காகத்) தங்களுடைய சப்தத்தைத் தாழ்த்திக் கொள்கின்றார்களோ, அவர்களுடைய உள்ளங்களை நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் சோதனை செய்து பரிசுத்தத்தன்மைக்கு எடுத்துக் கொண்டான். அவர்களுக்கு மன்னிப்பும் உண்டு; மகத்தான கூலியும் உண்டு.

நிச்சயமாக, எவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய தூதரின் முன்பு, தங்களுடைய சப்தங்களைத் தாழ்த்திக் கொள்கிறார்களோ அ(த்தகைய)வர்களின் இதயங்களை அல்லாஹ் பயபக்திக்காகச் சோதனை செய்கிறான் - அவர்களுக்கு மன்னிப்பும், மகத்தான கூலியும் உண்டு.

நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வுடைய தூதரிடத்தில் (பேசும் பொழுது) தங்களுடைய சப்தங்களைத் தாழ்த்திக் கொள்கிறார்களே அத்தகையோர்_அவர்களுடைய இதயங்களை பயபக்திக்காக அல்லாஹ் பரிசுத்தமாக்கி வைத்தானே அத்தகையோராவர், அவர்களுக்கு மன்னிப்பும், மகத்தான கூலியும் உண்டு.

Indeed, those who lower their voices in the presence of the Messenger of Allah are those whose hearts Allah has tested for righteousness. For them there is forgiveness and a great reward.

Inna allatheena yunadoonaka min warai alhujurati aktharuhum la yaAAqiloona

Verily, those who call you from behind the dwellings, most of them have no sense.

Indeed, those who call you, [O Muhammad], from behind the chambers - most of them do not use reason.

(நபியே!) எவர்கள் (நீங்கள் வசித்திருக்கும்) அறைக்கு முன்பாக நின்று கொண்டு உங்களை(க் கூச்சலிட்டு)ச் சப்தமிட்டு அழைக்கின்றார்களோ, அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலானவர்கள் விளங்கிக் கொள்ளாதவர்களே!

(நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக, எவர்கள் (உம்) அறைகளுக்கு வெளியே இருந்து உம்மை இரைந்து அழைக்கிறார்களோ, அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் விளங்கிக் கொள்ளாதவர்களே!

(நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக (உம்முடைய) அறைகளுக்குப் பின்னாலிருந்து சப்தமிட்டு உம்மை அழைக்கின்றார்களே அத்தகையோர்_அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் (உம்மை அழைத்துப் பேசும் முறையை) விளங்கமாட்டார்கள்.

As for those who call out to you [O Prophet] from behind the chambers, most of them have no understanding.

Walaw annahum sabaroo hatta takhruja ilayhim lakana khayran lahum waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun

And if they had had patience till you could come out to them, it would have been better for them. And Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

And if they had been patient until you [could] come out to them, it would have been better for them. But Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

(உங்களது அறையிலிருந்து) நீங்கள் வெளிப்பட்டு அவர்களிடம் வரும் வரையில் அவர்கள் பொறுத்திருந்தால், அது அவர்களுக்கு எவ்வளவோ நன்றாக இருந்திருக்கும். அல்லாஹ் மிக மன்னிப்பவனும் கிருபையுடையவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

நீர் அவர்களிடம் வெளிப்பட்டு வரும் வரையில், அவர்கள் பொறுத்திருந்தார்களானால், அது அவர்களுக்கு நலமாக இருக்கும்; (எனினும்) அல்லாஹ் மிக மன்னிப்பவன்; மிக்க கிருபையுடையவன்.

நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள்_அவர்களிடம் நீர் வெளியேறி வரும் வரையில் பொறுமையோடு இருந்திருப்பார்களானால், அது அவர்களுக்கு மிகச் சிறந்ததாக இருந்திருக்கும், இன்னும், அல்லாஹ் மிக்க மன்னிப்பவன் மிகக் கிருபையுடையவன்.

If they had been patient until you came out to them, it would have been better for them. But Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo in jaakum fasiqun binabain fatabayyanoo an tuseeboo qawman bijahalatin fatusbihoo AAala ma faAAaltum nadimeena

O you who believe! If a Fâsiq (liar – evil person) comes to you with any news, verify it, lest you should harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful for what you have done.

O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigate, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful.

நம்பிக்கையாளர்களே! யாதொரு விஷமி உங்களிடம் யாதொரு செய்தியைக் கொண்டுவந்தால், (அதன் உண்மையை அறியும் பொருட்டு அதனைத்) தீர்க்க விசாரணை செய்து கொள்ளுங்கள். (இல்லையெனில், அவனுடைய சொல்லை நம்பி) அறியாமையால் யாதொரு மக்களுக்கு நீங்கள் தீங்கிழைத்துவிட்டுப் பின்னர், நீங்கள் செய்தவைகளைப் பற்றி நீங்களே துக்கித்துக் கவலைப்படும்படியும் நேர்ந்துவிடும்.

முஃமின்களே! ஃபாஸிக் (தீயவன்) எவனும் உங்களிடம் ஒரு செய்தியைக் கொண்டு வந்தால், அதைத் தீர்க்க விசாரித்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள்; (இல்லையேல்) அறியாமையினால் (குற்ற மற்ற) ஒரு சமூகத்தாருக்கு நீங்கள் தீங்கு செய்து விடலாம்; பின்னர் நீங்கள் செய்தவை பற்றி நீங்களே கைசேதப் படுபவர்களாக (கவலைப்படுபவர்களாக) ஆவீர்கள்.

விசுவாசிகளே! (ஃபாஸிக் எனும்) தீயவன் உங்களிடம் ஏதேனும் செய்தியைக் கொண்டுவந்தால் (அதை உடனே அங்கீகரித்து) அறியாமையால் (குற்றமற்ற) ஒரு சமூகத்தார்க்கு நீங்கள் தீங்கிழைத்துவிடாதிருப்பதற்காக (அதன் உண்மையை அறிவதற்காக அதனைத் தீர்க்க விசாரணை செய்து) தெளிவுபடுத்திக் கொள்ளுங்கள், (அவ்வாறு நீங்கள் செய்யவில்லையென்றால்,) பின்னர் நீங்கள் செய்தவைகளைப் பற்றி நீங்களே கைசேதப்படக்கூடியவர்களாக ஆகிவிடுவீர்கள்.

O you who believe, if an evildoer brings you some news, verify it, lest you harm people unknowingly, then you become regretful for what you did.

WaiAAlamoo anna feekum rasoola Allahi law yuteeAAukum fee katheerin mina alamri laAAanittum walakinna Allaha habbaba ilaykumu aleemana wazayyanahu fee quloobikum wakarraha ilaykumu alkufra waalfusooqa waalAAisyana olaika humu alrrashidoona

And know that among you there is the Messenger of Allâh [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]. If he were to obey you (i.e. follow your opinions and desires) in much of the matter, you would surely be in trouble. But Allâh has endeared the Faith to you and has beautified it in your hearts, and has made disbelief, wickedness and disobedience (to Allâh and His Messenger [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) hateful to you. Such are they who are the rightly guided.

And know that among you is the Messenger of Allah. If he were to obey you in much of the matter, you would be in difficulty, but Allah has endeared to you the faith and has made it pleasing in your hearts and has made hateful to you disbelief, defiance and disobedience. Those are the [rightly] guided.

(நம்பிக்கையாளர்களே!) நிச்சயமாக உங்களிடம் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய தூதர் இருக்கின்றார். பல விஷயங்களில் அவர் உங்களுக்கு கட்டுப்படுவதென்றால், நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள்தாம் கஷ்டத்திற்குள்ளாகி விடுவீர்கள் என்பதை நீங்கள் உறுதியாக அறிந்து கொள்ளுங்கள். ஆயினும், அல்லாஹ் நம்பிக்கையின் மீதே உங்களுக்கு அன்பைக் கொடுத்து, உங்கள் உள்ளங்களிலும் அதனையே அழகாக்கியும் வைத்தான். அன்றி, நிராகரிப்பையும், பாவத்தையும், மாறு செய்வதையும் உங்களுக்கு வெறுப்பாகவும் ஆக்கிவைத்தான். இத்தகையவர்கள்தான் நேரான வழியில் இருக்கின்றனர்.

அறிந்துகொள்ளுங்கள்: நிச்சயமாக உங்களிடையே அல்லாஹ்வின் தூதர் இருக்கிறார்; அநேக காரியங்களில் அவர் உங்களுக்கு வழிப்பட்டால், திடமாக நீங்கள் தாம் கஷ்டத்திற்குள்ளாவீர்கள், எனினும் அல்லாஹ் ஈமானை (நம்பிக்கையை) உங்களுக்குப் பிரியமுடையதாக்கி உங்கள் இதயங்களிலும் அதனை அழகாக்கியும் வைத்தான் - அன்றியும் குஃப்ரையும் (நிராகரிப்பையும்) பாவத்தையும், மாறுபாடு செய்வதையும் உங்களுக்கு வெறுப்பாகவும் ஆக்கினான்; இத்தகையவர்கள் தாம் நேர்வழியில் நடப்பவர்கள்.

(விசுவாசிகளே!) நிச்சயமாக உங்களிடையே அல்லாஹ்வுடைய தூதர் இருக்கின்றார் என்பதையும் நீங்கள் அறிந்துகொள்ளுங்கள், (நீங்கள் விரும்பும்) காரியத்தில் அநேகவற்றில் அவர் உங்களுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்தால், நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் சிரமத்திற்குள்ளாகிவிடுவீர்கள், எனினும், அல்லாஹ் விசுவாசத்தை உங்கள் பால் விருப்பமானதாக ஆக்கினான், உங்கள் இதயங்களில் அதனையே அலங்கரமாக்கியும் வைத்தான், மேலும் நிராகரிப்பையும், பாவத்தையும், மாறுசெய்வதையும் உங்களுக்கு அவன் வெறுப்பாக்கியும் வைத்தான். இத்தகையோர் தாம் நேர்வழி பெற்றவர்கள்.

Know that the Messenger of Allah is among you. If he were to obey you in many matters, you would surely suffer. But Allah has endeared faith to you and made it pleasing to your hearts, and has made disbelief, wickedness, and disobedience hateful to you. Such are the rightly guided,

Fadlan mina Allahi waniAAmatan waAllahu AAaleemun hakeemun

(This is) a Grace from Allâh and His Favour. And Allâh is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

[It is] as bounty from Allah and favor. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.

(மிகச் சிறந்த இத்தன்மைகளை அடைவது) அல்லாஹ்வுடைய அருளும், (அவனுடைய) கிருபையுமாகும். அல்லாஹ் (அனைத்தையும்) நன்கறிந்தவனும் ஞானமுடையவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

(இது) அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்துள்ள அனுக்கிரமும், அருள்கொடையினாலுமேயாகும், மேலும் அல்லாஹ் நன்கறிந்தவன்; ஞானம் மிக்கோன்.

(இது) அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்துள்ள பேரருளாக, (அவனுடைய) அருட்கொடையாக இருக்கும், மேலும், அல்லாஹ் (யாவையும்) நன்கறிகிறவன், தீர்க்கமான அறிவுடையவன்.

by Allah’s grace and favor. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

Wain taifatani mina almumineena iqtataloo faaslihoo baynahuma fain baghat ihdahuma AAala alokhra faqatiloo allatee tabghee hatta tafeea ila amri Allahi fain faat faaslihoo baynahuma bialAAadli waaqsitoo inna Allaha yuhibbu almuqsiteena

And if two parties (or groups) among the believers fall to fighting, then make peace between them both. But if one of them outrages against the other, then fight you (all) against the one which outrages till it complies with the Command of Allâh. Then if it complies, then make reconciliation between them justly, and be equitable. Verily, Allâh loves those who are the equitable.

And if two factions among the believers should fight, then make settlement between the two. But if one of them oppresses the other, then fight against the one that oppresses until it returns to the ordinance of Allah. And if it returns, then make settlement between them in justice and act justly. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.

நம்பிக்கையாளார்களிலுள்ள இரு வகுப்பார் தங்களுக்குள் சச்சரவு செய்துகொண்டால், அவர்களை சமாதானப்படுத்தி விடுங்கள். அவர்களில் ஒரு வகுப்பார், மற்றொரு வகுப்பாரின் மீது வரம்பு மீறி அநியாயம் செய்தால், அநியாயம் செய்தவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய கட்டளையின் பக்கம் வரும் வரையில், அவர்களுடன் நீங்கள் போர் செய்யுங்கள். அவர்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வின் கட்டளையின் பக்கம்) திரும்பிவிட்டால், நியாயமான முறையில் அவ்விரு வகுப்பார்களுக்கிடையே சமாதானம் செய்து, நீதமாகத் தீர்ப்பளியுங்கள். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நீதி செய்பவர்களை நேசிக்கின்றான்.

முஃமின்களில் இருசாரார் தங்களுக்குள் சண்டை செய்து கொண்டால், அவ்விருசாராருக்கிடையில் சமாதானம் உண்டாக்குங்கள். பின்னர் அவர்களில் ஒரு சாரார் மற்றவர் மீது அக்கிரமம் செய்தால், அக்கிரமம் செய்வோர் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய கட்டளையின் பால் திரும்பும் வரையில், (அவர்களுடன்) போர் செய்யுங்கள்; அவ்வாறு, அவர்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வின் பால்) திரும்பி விட்டால் நியாயமாக அவ்விரு சாராரிடையே சமாதானம் உண்டாக்குங்கள். (இதில்) நீங்கள் நீதியுடன் நடந்து கொள்ளுங்கள். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நீதியாளர்களை நேசிக்கிறான்.

விசுவாசிகளிலுள்ள இரு கூட்டத்தார் தங்களுக்குள் சண்டை செய்து கொண்டால், அவ்விருவருக்கிடையே சமாதனம் செய்து வையுங்கள், பின்னர், அவர்களில் ஒரு கூட்டத்தார், மற்றொரு கூட்டத்தாரின் மீது (அக்கிரமம் செய்து) வரம்பு மீறினால், (வரம்பு மீறிய) அக்கூட்டத்தவர் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய கட்டளையின்பால் திரும்பி வரும் வரை நீங்கள் போர்செய்யுங்கள், அக்கூட்டத்தார் (அல்லாஹ்வின் கட்டளையின்பால்) திரும்பிவிட்டால், அவ்விருவருக்கிடையே நீதியைக் கொண்டு சமாதானம் செய்துவையுங்கள், (இதில்) நீங்கள் நீதியாகவும் நடந்துகொள்ளுங்கள், நிச்சயமாக, அல்லாஹ் நீதியாளர்களை நேசிக்கின்றான்.

If two groups of the believers fight one another, make peace between them. If one of them transgresses against the other, fight against the transgressing group until they submit to the rule of Allah. Then if they submit, make peace between them with fairness, and be just, for Allah loves those who are just.

Innama almuminoona ikhwatun faaslihoo bayna akhawaykum waittaqoo Allaha laAAallakum turhamoona

The believers are nothing else than brothers (in Islâmic religion). So make reconciliation between your brothers, and fear Allâh that you may receive mercy.

The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy.

நிச்சயமாக நம்பிக்கையாளர்கள் அனைவரும் சகோதரர்களே! ஆகவே, உங்கள் சகோதரர்களுக்கிடையில் ஒழுங்கை(யும் சமாதானத்தையும்) நிலைநிறுத்துங்கள். (இதில்) அல்லாஹ்வுக்குப் பயந்து நடங்கள். (இதன் காரணமாக) அவனுடைய அருளை நீங்கள் அடைவீர்கள்.

நிச்சயமாக முஃமின்கள் (யாவரும்) சகோதரர்களே; ஆகவே, உங்கள் இரு சகோதரர்களுக்கிடையில் நீங்கள் சமாதானம் உண்டாக்குங்கள்; இன்னும் உங்கள் மீது கிருபை செய்யப்படும் பொருட்டு, நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வை அஞ்சுங்கள்.  

நிச்சயமாக விசுவாசிகள் (ஒருவர் மற்றவருக்கு) சகோதரர்களே! ஆகவே, (சண்டையிட்டுக் கொள்ளும்) உங்களுடைய இரு சகோதரர்களுக்கிடையில் சமாதானத்தை ஏற்படுத்துங்கள், நீங்கள் அருள் செய்யப்படுவதற்காக அல்லாஹ்வுக்குப் பயந்தும் கொள்ளுங்கள்.

The believers are but brothers, so make peace between your brothers. And fear Allah, so that you may be shown mercy.

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la yaskhar qawmun min qawmin AAasa an yakoonoo khayran minhum wala nisaon min nisain AAasa an yakunna khayran minhunna wala talmizoo anfusakum wala tanabazoo bialalqabi bisa alismu alfusooqu baAAda aleemani waman lam yatub faolaika humu alththalimoona

O you who believe! Let not a group scoff at another group, it may be that the latter are better than the former. Nor let (some) women scoff at other women, it may be that the latter are better than the former. Nor defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. How bad is it to insult one's brother after having Faith [i.e. to call your Muslim brother (a faithful believer) as: "O sinner", or "O wicked"]. And whosoever does not repent, then such are indeed Zâlimûn (wrong doers).

O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one's] faith. And whoever does not repent - then it is those who are the wrongdoers.

நம்பிக்கையாளர்களே! எந்த ஆண்களும் மற்றெந்த ஆண்களையும் பரிகாசம் செய்யவேண்டாம். அவர்கள் (அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில் பரிகாசம் செய்யும்) இவர்களைவிட மேலான வர்களாக இருக்கலாம். அவ்வாறே எந்தப் பெண்களும் மற்ற எந்தப் பெண்களையும் (பரிகாசம் செய்யவேண்டாம்.) அவர்கள் (பரிகாசம் செய்யும்) இவர்களைவிட மேலானவர்களாக இருக்கலாம். உங்களில் ஒருவர் ஒருவரை இழிவாகக் கருதி குறை கூறவேண்டாம். உங்களில் ஒருவர் மற்றவருக்கு(த் தீய) பட்டப் பெயர் சூட்ட வேண்டாம். நம்பிக்கை கொண்டதன் பின்னர், கெட்ட பெயர் சூட்டுவது மகா கெட்ட (பாவமான)தாகும். எவர்கள் (இவைகளிலிருந்து) விலகிக் கொள்ளவில்லையோ அவர்கள்தான் (வரம்பு மீறிய) அநியாயக் காரர்கள்.

முஃமின்களே! ஒரு சமூகத்தார் பிறியதொரு சமூகத்தாரைப் பரிகாசம் செய்ய வேண்டாம். ஏனெனில் (பரிகசிக்கப்படுவோர்), அவர்களைவிட மேலானவர்களாக இருக்கலாம்; (அவ்வாறே) எந்தப் பெண்களும், மற்றெந்தப் பெண்களையும் (பரிகாசம் செய்ய வேண்டாம்) - ஏனெனில் இவர்கள் அவர்களை விட மேலானவர்களாக இருக்கலாம்; இன்னும், உங்களில் ஒருவருக்கொருவர் பழித்துக் கொள்ளாதீர்கள், இன்னும் (உங்களில்) ஒருவரையொருவர் (தீய) பட்டப்பெயர்களால் அழைக்காதீர்கள்; ஈமான் கொண்டபின் (அவ்வாறு தீய) பட்டப் பெயர் சூட்டுவது மிகக் கெட்டதாகும்; எவர்கள் (இவற்றிலிருந்து) மீளவில்லையோ, அத்தகையவர்கள் அநியாயக்காரர்கள் ஆவார்கள்.

விசுவாசிகளே! ஒரு சமூகத்தார் மற்றொரு சமூகத்தாரைப் பரிகாசம் செய்ய வேண்டாம், (பரிகாசம் செய்யப்பட்ட) அவர்கள் (பரிகாசம் செய்யும்) இவர்களை விட மிகச் சிறந்தவர்களாக இருக்கலாம், (அவ்வாறே) எந்தப் பெண்களும், மற்ற எந்தப் பெண்களையும் (பரிகாசம் செய்ய வேண்டாம், பரிகாசம் செய்யப்பட்ட) அவர்கள் (பரிகாசம் செய்யும்) இவர்களை விட மிகச் சிறந்தவர்களாக இருக்கலாம். உங்களில் சிலர் சிலரை குறை கூறவும் வேண்டாம், உங்களில் சிலர் சிலரை (அவருக்கு வைக்கப்படாத) பெயர்களால் அழைக்கவும் வேண்டாம், விசுவாசங்கொண்ட பின்னர், (தீயவற்றைக் குறித்துக் காட்டும்) தீய பெயர் (கூறுவது) மிகக் கெட்டதாகி விட்டது, எவர்கள் (இவைகளிலிருந்து) தவ்பாச் செய்து மீளவில்லையோ அவர்களே அநியாயக்காரர்கள்.

O you who believe, let not some men ridicule others, for it may be that they are better than them; nor let some women ridicule others, for it may be that they are better than them. Do not speak ill of one another, nor call one another by [offensive] nicknames. How evil is the name of wickedness after having faith! And whoever does not repent, it is they who are the wrongdoers.

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo ijtaniboo katheeran mina alththanni inna baAAda alththanni ithmun wala tajassasoo wala yaghtab baAAdukum baAAdan ayuhibbu ahadukum an yakula lahma akheehi maytan fakarihtumoohu waittaqoo Allaha inna Allaha tawwabun raheemun

O you who believe! Avoid much suspicion; indeed some suspicions are sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is the One Who forgives and accepts repentance, Most Merciful.

O you who have believed, avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead? You would detest it. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Accepting of repentance and Merciful.

நம்பிக்கையாளர்களே! அநேகமாக சந்தேகங்களிலிருந்து நீங்கள் விலகிக் கொள்ளுங்கள். ஏனென்றால், நிச்சயமாகச் சந்தேகங்களில் சில பாவமானவைகளாக இருக்கின்றன. (எவருடைய குற்றத்தையும்) நீங்கள் துருவித்துருவி விசாரித்துக் கொண்டிருக்க வேண்டாம். உங்களில் ஒருவர் மற்றெவரையும் புறம் பேச வேண்டாம். உங்களில் எவனும் தன்னுடைய இறந்த சகோதரனின் மாமிசத்தைப் புசிக்க விரும்புவானா? அதனை நீங்கள் வெறுப்பீர்களே! (புறம் பேசுவதும் அவ்வாறே. இவ்விஷயங்களில்) அல்லாஹ்வுக்குப் பயந்துகொள்ளுங்கள். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (பாவத்திலிருந்து) விலகுபவர்களை அங்கீகரிப்பவனும் கிருபை செய்பவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

முஃமின்களே! (சந்தேகமான) பல எண்ணங்களிலிருந்து விலகிக் கொள்ளுங்கள்; ஏனெனில் நிச்சயமாக எண்ணங்களில் சில பாவங்களாக இருக்கும்; (பிறர் குறைகளை) நீங்கள் துருவித் துருவி ஆராய்ந்து கொண்டிராதீர்கள்; அன்றியும், உங்களில் சிலர் சிலரைப் பற்றிப் புறம் பேசவேண்டாம், உங்களில் எவராவது தம்முடைய இறந்த சகோதரனின் மாமிசத்தைப் புசிக்க விரும்புவாரா? (இல்லை!) அதனை நீங்கள் வெறுப்பீர்கள். இன்னும், நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வை அஞ்சுங்கள். நிச்சயமாக பாவத்திலிருந்து மீள்வதை அல்லாஹ் ஏற்றுக் கொள்பவன்; மிக்க கிருபை செய்பவன்.

விசுவாசிகளே! (தவறான) எண்ணத்தில் பெரும்பாலனவற்றை நீங்கள் தவிர்த்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள், (ஏனெனில்,) நிச்சயமாக எண்ணத்தில் சில பாவமாகும், (எவருடைய குறைகளையும்) நீங்கள் துருவித் துருவி விசாரித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கவும் வேண்டாம், உங்களில் சிலர் சிலரைப் புறம் பேசவும் வேண்டாம், உங்களில் யாதொருவர், தன்னுடைய சகோதரரின் மாமிசத்தை (அவர் இறந்து) சவமாயிருக்கும் நிலையில் புசிக்க விரும்புவாரா? அப்போது, அதனை நீங்கள் வெறுத்து விடுவீர்கள். இன்னும், நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்குப் பயந்து கொள்ளுங்கள், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (பாவத்திலிருந்து தவ்பாச் செய்து மீள்வோரின்) பாவமீட்சியை மிகுதியாக ஏற்பவன் மிகக் கிருபையுடையவன்.

O you who believe, avoid much of the suspicion, for some suspicions are sin. Do not spy on one another, nor backbite one another. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would surely abhor it. So fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Accepting of Repentance, Most Merciful.

Ya ayyuha alnnasu inna khalaqnakum min thakarin waontha wajaAAalnakum shuAAooban waqabaila litaAAarafoo inna akramakum AAinda Allahi atqakum inna Allaha AAaleemun khabeerun

O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allâh is that (believer) who has At-Taqwâ [i.e. he is one of the Muttaqûn (the pious. See V.2:2)]. Verily, Allâh is All-Knowing, Well-Acquainted (with all things).

O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.

மனிதர்களே! உங்கள் அனைவரையும் நிச்சயமாக நாம் ஒரே ஆண், ஒரே பெண்ணிலிருந்துதான் படைத்தோம். பின்னர், ஒருவர் மற்றவரை அறிந்துகொள்ளும் பொருட்டு, உங்களைக் கிளை களாகவும் கோத்திரங்களாகவும் ஆக்கினோம். (ஆதலால், உங்களில் ஒருவர் மற்றவரைவிட மேலென்று பெருமை பாராட்டிக் கொள்வதற் கில்லை.) எனினும், உங்களில் எவர் இறையச்சம் உடையவராக இருக்கின்றாரோ, அவர்தான் அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில் நிச்சயமாக மிக கண்ணியமானவர். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (அனைத்தையும்) நன்கறிந் தவனும் நன்கு தெரிந்தவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

மனிதர்களே! நிச்சயமாக நாம் உங்களை ஓர் ஆண், ஒரு பெண்ணிலிருந்தே படைத்தோம்; நீங்கள் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் அறிந்து கொள்ளும் பொருட்டு. பின்னர், உங்களைக் கிளைகளாகவும், கோத்திரங்களாகவும் ஆக்கினோம்; (ஆகவே) உங்களில் எவர் மிகவும் பயபக்தியுடையவராக இருக்கின்றாரோ, அவர்தாம் அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில், நிச்சயமாக மிக்க கண்ணியமானவர். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நன்கறிபவன், (யாவற்றையும் சூழந்து) தெரிந்தவன்.

மனிதர்களே! நிச்சயமாக நாம் உங்களை ஓர் ஆண் மற்றும் ஒரு பெண்ணிலிருந்து படைத்தோம், இன்னும், ஒருவருக்கொருவர் நீங்கள் அறிமுகமாகிக் கொள்வதற்காக உங்களை கிளைகளாகவும், கோத்திரங்களாகவும் ஆக்கினோம். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில் உங்களில் மிக்க கண்ணியமிக்கவர் உங்களில் மிகவும் பயபக்தியுடைவர்தான், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ், (யாவையும்) நன்கறிந்தவன், நன்குணர்பவன்.

O mankind, We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes so that you may recognize one another. Indeed, the most noble of you before Allah is the most righteous among you. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware.

Qalati alaAArabu amanna qul lam tuminoo walakin qooloo aslamna walamma yadkhuli aleemanu fee quloobikum wain tuteeAAoo Allaha warasoolahu la yalitkum min aAAmalikum shayan inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

The bedouins say: "We believe." Say: "You believe not but you only say, 'We have surrendered (in Islâm),' for Faith has not yet entered your hearts. But if you obey Allâh and His Messenger [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam], He will not decrease anything in reward for your deeds. Verily, Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

The bedouins say, "We have believed." Say, "You have not [yet] believed; but say [instead], 'We have submitted,' for faith has not yet entered your hearts. And if you obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not deprive you from your deeds of anything. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."

(நபியே!) நாட்டுப்புறத்து அரபிகளில் பலர், தாங்களும் நம்பிக்கையாளர்கள் எனக் கூறுகின்றனர். (அவர்களை நோக்கி) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "நீங்கள் உங்களை நம்பிக்கையாளர்கள் எனக் கூறாதீர்கள். ஏனென்றால், நம்பிக்கை உங்களுடைய உள்ளங்களில் நுழையவே இல்லை. ஆயினும், (வெளிப்படையாக) வழிபடுபவர்கள் என்று (உங்களை) நீங்கள் கூறிக்கொள்ளுங்கள். எனினும், மெய்யாகவே நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கும், அவனுடைய தூதருக்கும் வழிப்பட்டு நடப்பீர்களாயின், உங்களுடைய நன்மைகளில், எதையும் அவன் உங்களுக்குக் குறைத்துவிட மாட்டான். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் மிக்க மன்னிப்பவனும் கிருபையுடையவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்."

“நாங்களும் ஈமான் கொண்டோம்” என்று (நபியே! உம்மிடம்) நாட்டுப் புறத்து அரபிகள் கூறுகிறார்கள், “நீங்கள் ஈமான் கொள்ளவில்லை. எனினும் “நாங்கள் வழிபட்டோம்” (இஸ்லாத்தைத் தழுவினோம்) என்று (வேண்டுமானால்) கூறுங்கள் (என நபியே! அவர்களிடம்) கூறுவீராக. “ஏனெனில் உங்களுடைய இதயங்களில் (உண்மையான) ஈமான் நுழையவில்லை; மேலும், நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கும், அவனுடைய தூதருக்கும் வழிப்பட்டு நடப்பீர்களாயின் அவன் உங்களுடைய நற்செய்கைகளில், எதையும் உங்களுக்குக் குறைக்க மாட்டான்” நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் மிக மன்னிப்பவன்; மிக்க கிருபையுடையவன்.

(நபியே! அரபிகளிலுள்ள) நாட்டுப்புறத்து வாசிகள் “நாங்கள் விசுவாசித்திருக்கிறோம்” எனக் கூறுகின்றனர், (அவர்களிடம்) நீர் கூறுவீராக: “நீங்கள் விசுவாசிக்கவில்லை, எனினும், நாங்கள் இஸ்லாத்தை ஏற்றவர்களாக இருக்கிறோம்” என்று நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள், (ஏனெனில்) விசுவாசம் உங்களுடைய இதயங்களில் நுழையவேயில்லை; நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கும், அவனுடைய தூதருக்கும் கீழ்ப்படிந்து நடப்பீர்களாயின், உங்களுடைய (நன்மையான) செயல்களிலிருந்து எதையும் அவன் உங்களுக்குக் குறைத்துவிடமாட்டான், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ், மிக்க மன்னிப்பவன், மிக்க கிருபையுடையவன்.

The Bedouins say, “We have believed.” Say, “You have not believed, but say, ‘We have submitted,’ for faith has not yet entered your hearts. But if you obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not detract anything from the reward of your deeds. Indeed, Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”

Innama almuminoona allatheena amanoo biAllahi warasoolihi thumma lam yartaboo wajahadoo biamwalihim waanfusihim fee sabeeli Allahi olaika humu alssadiqoona

Only those are the believers who have believed in Allâh and His Messenger, and afterward doubt not but strive with their wealth and their lives for the Cause of Allâh. Those! They are the truthful.

The believers are only the ones who have believed in Allah and His Messenger and then doubt not but strive with their properties and their lives in the cause of Allah. It is those who are the truthful.

(உண்மையான) நம்பிக்கையாளர்கள் எவர்களென்றால், அவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வையும், அவனுடைய தூதரையும் மெய்யாகவே நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு, பின்னர் எவ்வித சந்தேகமும் கொள்ளாது, அல்லாஹ்வுடைய பாதையில் தங்களுடைய உயிரையும் பொருளையும் தியாகம் செய்து போர் புரிவார்கள். இத்தகைய வர்கள்தாம் (தங்கள் நம்பிக்கையில்) உண்மையானவர்கள்.

நிச்சயமாக, (உண்மையான) முஃமின்கள் யார் என்றால், அவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் மீதும், அவனுடைய தூதர் மீதும், ஈமான் கொண்டு, பின்னர் (அது பற்றி அவர்கள் எத்தகைய) சந்தேகமும் கொள்ளாது, தம் செல்வங்களைக் கொண்டும், தம் உயிர்களைக் கொண்டும் அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையில் தியாகம் செய்வார்கள் - இத்தகையவர்கள் தாம் உண்மையாளர்கள்.

(உண்மையான) விசுவாசிகள் எத்தகையோரென்றால், அல்லாஹ்வையும், அவனுடைய தூதரையும் விசுவாசங்கொண்டு, பின்னர் எவ்வித சந்தேகமும் கொள்ளாது, அல்லாஹ்வுடைய பாதையில் தங்களுடைய செல்வங்களாலும், தம் உயிர்களாலும் (ஜிஹாத் எனும்) அறப்போர் செய்தார்களே அத்தகையோர்தாம், அவர்களே (தங்கள் விசுவாசத்தில்) உண்மையாளர்கள்.

Indeed, the believers are those who believe in Allah and His Messenger, then they do not have doubt, but fight with their wealth and their lives in the way of Allah. It is they who are the truthful.

Qul atuAAallimoona Allaha bideenikum waAllahu yaAAlamu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi waAllahu bikulli shayin AAaleemun

Say: "Will you inform Allâh of your religion while Allâh knows all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and Allâh is All-Knowing of everything?"

Say, "Would you acquaint Allah with your religion while Allah knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and Allah is Knowing of all things?"

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: ("நீங்கள் மார்க்கத்தைப் பின்பற்றி நடப்பவர்களென்று) உங்கள் வழிபாட்டை(யும், பக்தியையும்) நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு அறிவிக்கின்றீர்களா? அல்லாஹ்வோ வானங் களிலும் பூமியிலும் உள்ளவைகளை அறிந்தவன். (அன்றி, மற்ற) எல்லா வஸ்துக்களையுமே அல்லாஹ் நன்கறிந்தவன்."

“நீங்கள் உங்கள் மார்க்க (வழிபாடுகள்) பற்றி அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு அறிவிக்(க விரும்பு)கிறீர்களோ? அல்லாஹ்வோ வானங்களிலுள்ளவற்றையும், பூமியிலுள்ளவற்றையும் நன்கு அறிகிறான் - அன்றியும், அல்லாஹ் எல்லாப் பொருள்களையும் நன்கறிகிறவன்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்.

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக: (“விசுவாசம் கொண்டிருக்கிறோம் என்ற உங்கள் கூற்றின் மூலம்) உங்கள் மார்க்கத்தை நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு அறிவிக்கின்றீர்களா? அல்லாஹ்வோ வானங்களில் உள்ளவற்றையும், பூமியில் உள்ளவற்றையும் நன்கு அறிவான், அன்றியும் அல்லாஹ் ஒவ்வொரு பொருளைப்பற்றியும் நன்கறிகிறவன்.”

Say, “Do you inform Allah of your faith, when Allah knows all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth? And Allah is All-Knowing of everything.”

Yamunnoona AAalayka an aslamoo qul la tamunnoo AAalayya islamakum bali Allahu yamunnu AAalaykum an hadakum lileemani in kuntum sadiqeena

They regard as favour to you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) that they have embraced Islâm. Say: "Count not your Islâm as a favour to me. Nay, but Allâh has conferred a favour upon you that He has guided you to the Faith if you indeed are true.

They consider it a favor to you that they have accepted Islam. Say, "Do not consider your Islam a favor to me. Rather, Allah has conferred favor upon you that He has guided you to the faith, if you should be truthful."

(நபியே!) அவர்கள் இஸ்லாமில் சேர்ந்ததன் காரணமாக உங்கள்மீது உபகாரம் செய்துவிட்டதாக அவர்கள் கருதுகின்றனர். (நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "நீங்கள் இஸ்லாமில் சேர்ந்ததனால் நம்மீது உபகாரம் செய்துவிட்டதாக எண்ணாதீர்கள். நீங்கள் நம்பிக்கையாளர்களாக ஆகும்படி செய்ததன் காரணமாக அல்லாஹ்தான் உங்கள் மீது உபகாரம் செய்திருக்கின்றான். நீங்கள் (உங்கள் நம்பிக்கையில்) உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால் (இதனை நன்கறிந்து கொள்வீர்கள்.)"

அவர்கள் இஸ்லாம் மார்க்கத்தைத் தழுவியதால், உமக்கு உபகாரம் செய்து விட்டதாகக் கருதுகிறார்கள்; “நீங்கள் இஸ்லாம் மார்க்கத்தைத் தழுவியதால் எனக்கு உபகாரம் செய்து விட்டதாகக் கருதாதீர்கள்; எனினும், நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருப்பின் ஈமானின் நேர் வழியில் உங்களைச் சேர்த்ததனால் அல்லாஹ் தான் உங்கள் மீது உபகாரம் செய்திருக்கிறான்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக.

(நபியே!) அவர்கள் இஸ்லாத்தில் சேர்ந்ததன் காரணமாக, உமக்கு உபகாரம் செய்துவிட்டதாக அவர்கள் கருதுகின்றனர், (நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்: “நீங்கள் இஸ்லாத்தில் சேர்ந்ததனால் என் மீது உபகாரம் செய்து விட்டதாகக் கருதாதீர்கள், எனினும், விசுவாசம் கொள்ள வாய்ப்பளித்து உங்களை நேர் வழியில் செலுத்தியதனால் அல்லாஹ்தான் உங்கள் மீது உபகாரம் செய்திருக்கின்றான், நீங்கள் (உங்கள் விசுவாசத்தில்) உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால் (இதனை நன்கறிந்து கொள்வீர்கள்.”)

They think that they have done you a favor by embracing Islam. Say, “Do not consider your Islam as a favor to me. Rather, it is Allah Who has done you a favor by guiding you to faith, if you are truthful.

Inna Allaha yaAAlamu ghayba alssamawati waalardi waAllahu baseerun bima taAAmaloona

Verily, Allâh knows the Unseen of the heavens and the earth. And Allâh is All-Seer of what you do.

Indeed, Allah knows the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth. And Allah is Seeing of what you do.

நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் வானங்களிலும் பூமியிலும் மறைந்திருப்பவைகளை நன்கறிந்தவன். ஆகவே, நீங்கள் செய்பவைகளையும் அல்லாஹ் உற்று நோக்கினவனாக இருக்கின்றான்.

“நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் வானங்களிலும், பூமியிலுமுள்ள மறைவானவற்றை (யெல்லாம்) நன்கறிகிறான்; அன்றியும் அல்லாஹ் நீங்கள் செய்பவற்றை பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றான்.

நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் வானங்களிலும், பூமியிலும் உள்ள மறைவானவற்றை நன்கறிவான். அல்லாஹ்வோ நீங்கள் செய்பவைகளைப் பார்க்கிறவன்.

Indeed, Allah knows all that is unseen of the heavens and earth, and Allah is All-Seeing of what you do.”
