Hâ-Mîm.[These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'ân, and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings.]

Hā Mīm.

Tanzeelu alkitabi mina Allahi alAAazeezi alhakeemi

The revelation of the Book (this Qur'ân) is from Allâh, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

(அனைவரையும்) மிகைத்தவனும், ஞானமுடையவனுமாகிய அல்லாஹ்வினால் இவ்வேதம் அருளப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இவ்வேதம், யாவரையும் மிகைத்தோனும் ஞானம் மிக்கோனுமாகிய அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்தே இறக்கியருளப்பட்டது.

(யாவரையும்) மிகைத்தோன், தீர்க்கமான அறிவுடையோன் ஆகிய அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்தே இவ்வேதம் இறக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

The revelation of this Book is from Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

Ma khalaqna alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma illa bialhaqqi waajalin musamman waallatheena kafaroo AAamma onthiroo muAAridoona

We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except with truth, and for an appointed term. But those who disbelieve, turn away from that whereof they are warned.

We did not create the heavens and earth and what is between them except in truth and [for] a specified term. But those who disbelieve, from that of which they are warned, are turning away.

வானங்களையும், பூமியையும், அவைகளுக்கு மத்தியில் உள்ளவைகளையும் தக்க காரணமும், (அவைகளுக்குக்) குறிப்பிட்ட தவணையுமின்றி நாம் படைக்கவில்லை. எவர்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வை) நிராகரிக்கின்றார்களோ அவர்கள், தங்களுக்குப் பயமுறுத்தி எச்சரிக்கை செய்யப்பட்டதை மறுக்கின்றனர்.

வானங்களையும், பூமியையும் இவையிரண்டிற்கும் இடையே உள்ளவற்றையும் உண்மையையும், ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட தவணையையும் கொண்டல்லாமல் நாம் படைக்கவில்லை; ஆனால் நிராகரிப்பவர்களோ, தங்களுக்கு அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்யப்பட்டதைப் புறக்கணிப்பவர்களாக இருக்கிறார்கள்.

வானங்களையும் பூமியையும் அவை இரண்டிற்கு மத்தியில் உள்ளவைகளையும், உண்மையைக்கொண்டும், குறிப்பிடப்பட்ட தவணையையும் கொண்டே தவிர நாம் படைக்கவில்லை, மேலும், (அல்லாஹ்வை) நிராகரிக்கின்றார்களே அத்தகையோர், அவர்கள் தங்களுக்கு எச்சரிக்கை செய்யப்பட்டதைவிட்டும் புறக்கணிக்கின்றவர்களாக இருக்கின்றனர்.

We have not created the heavens and earth and all that is between them except for a true purpose and for a set term, yet those who disbelieve turn away from what they have been warned of.

Qul araaytum ma tadAAoona min dooni Allahi aroonee matha khalaqoo mina alardi am lahum shirkun fee alssamawati eetoonee bikitabin min qabli hatha aw atharatin min AAilmin in kuntum sadiqeena

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] to these pagans): "Think you about all that you invoke besides Allâh? Show me. What have they created of the earth? Or have they a share in (the creation of) the heavens? Bring me a Book (revealed) before this, or some trace of knowledge (in support of your claims), if you are truthful!"

Say, [O Muhammad], "Have you considered that which you invoke besides Allah? Show me what they have created of the earth; or did they have partnership in [creation of] the heavens? Bring me a scripture [revealed] before this or a [remaining] trace of knowledge, if you should be truthful."

ஆகவே, (நபியே! அவர்களை நோக்கி) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி நீங்கள் (இறைவனென) எவைகளை அழைக்கிறீர்களோ அவைகளைப் பற்றி நீங்கள் கவனித்தீர்களா? அவைகள் பூமியில் எதைத்தான் படைத்திருக்கின்றன? அதனை நீங்கள் எனக்குக் காண்பியுங்கள். அல்லது வானங்களில் (அவற்றின் ஆட்சியிலோ அல்லது அவற்றை படைத்ததிலோ) அவைகளுக்குப் பங்குண்டா? நீங்கள் உண்மை சொல்பவர்களாயிருந்தால், இதற்கு (ஆதாரமாக) முன்னுள்ள யாதொரு வேதத்தை, அல்லது (இது சம்பந்தமான) ஞானமுடையவர்களின் யாதொரு வாக்கியத்தைக் கொண்டு வாருங்கள்.

“நீங்கள் அழைக்கும் அல்லாஹ் அல்லாதவற்றை கவனித்தீர்களா? பூமியிலுள்ள எதை அவை படைத்துள்ளன; அல்லது அவற்றுக்கு வானங்களில் ஏதாவது பங்கு உண்டா? என்பதை எனக்குக் காண்பியுங்கள்! நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால், இதற்கு, முன்னேயுள்ள ஒரு வேதத்தையோ அல்லது (முன்னோர்களின்) அறிவு ஞானங்களில் மிஞ்சிய ஏதேனும் பகுதியையோ (உங்கள் கூற்றுக்கு ஆதாரமாக) என்னிடம் கொண்டு வாருங்கள்!” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக.

(ஆகவே நபியே! அவர்களிடம்,) நீர் கூறுவீராக; அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி நீங்கள் அழைக்கின்றவற்றை நீங்கள் பார்த்தீர்களா? பூமியிலிருந்து எதனை அவர்கள் படைத்திருக்கிறார்கள்? அல்லது வானங்களின் படைப்பில் அவர்களுக்குக் கூட்டு உண்டா? என்பதை நீங்கள் எனக்குக் காண்பியுங்கள்! நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால், இதற்கு (ஆதாரமாக) முன்னுள்ள யாதொரு வேதத்தையோ, அல்லது (முன்னோர்களில் யாரிடமிருந்தாவது கிடைக்கப்பெற்ற) அடிச் சுவட்டிலிருந்து (எஞ்சியிருக்கும்) அறிவு ஆதாரத்தையோ கொண்டுவாருங்கள்.

Say, “Tell me about those whom you invoke besides Allah; show me what they have created on the earth, or do they have a share in the heavens? Bring me a scripture revealed before this, or some remnant of knowledge, if you are truthful.”

Waman adallu mimman yadAAoo min dooni Allahi man la yastajeebu lahu ila yawmi alqiyamati wahum AAan duAAaihim ghafiloona

And who is more astray than one who calls on (invokes) besides Allâh, such as will not answer him till the Day of Resurrection, and who are (even) unaware of their calls (invocations) to them?

And who is more astray than he who invokes besides Allah those who will not respond to him until the Day of Resurrection, and they, of their invocation, are unaware.

மறுமை நாள் வரையில் (அழைத்தபோதிலும்) அவைகள் இவர்களுக்கு பதில் கொடுக்காது. ஆகவே, (இத்தகைய) அல்லாஹ் அல்லாதவைகளை அழைப்பவர்களைவிட வழிகெட்டவர்கள் யார்? தங்களை இவர்கள் அழைப்பதையுமே அவை அறியாது.

கியாம நாள்வரை (அழைத்தாலும்) தனக்கு பதில் கொடுக்க மாட்டாத - அல்லாஹ் அல்லாதவர்களை அழைப்பவர்களைவிட வழி கெட்டவர்கள் யார்? தங்களை அழைப்பதையே அவர்கள் அறியமுடியாது.

மேலும், அல்லாஹ்வை விடுத்து மறுமை நாள் வரை (அழைத்த போதிலும்) தனக்கு பதில் கொடுக்காதவர்களை அழைப்பவனைவிட மிக வழி கெட்டவன் யார்? அவர்களோ, இவர்களுடைய அழைப்பைப் பற்றி மறந்தவர்களாக உள்ளனர்.

Who is more astray than one who invokes besides Allah those who will not respond to him until the Day of Resurrection, and are in fact unaware of their invocations?

Waitha hushira alnnasu kanoo lahum aAAdaan wakanoo biAAibadatihim kafireena

And when mankind are gathered (on the Day of Resurrection), they (false deities) will become their enemies and will deny their worshipping.

And when the people are gathered [that Day], they [who were invoked] will be enemies to them, and they will be deniers of their worship.

தவிர, மனிதர்களை (உயிர்கொடுத்து) எழுப்பப்படும் சமயத்தில், அவை இவர்களுக்கு எதிரிகளாகி, இவர்கள் (தங்களை) வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள் என்பதையும் (அவைகள்) நிராகரித்துவிடும்.

அன்றியும் மனிதர் ஒன்று கூட்டப்படும் (அந்நாளில்) இவர்கள் அவர்களுடைய பகைவர்களாக இருப்பர்; அவர்கள் தங்களை வழிபட்டுக் கொண்டு இருந்ததையும் நிராகரித்து (மறுத்து) விடுவர்.

மேலும், மனிதர்கள் (மறுமை நாளுக்காக) ஒன்று திரட்டப்பட்டால், (வணங்கப்பட்டவர்களான) அவர்கள் இவர்களுக்கு விரோதிகளாக இருப்பர். இவர்கள் (தங்களை) வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்ததையும் அவர்கள் நிராகரித்து விடுவர்.

When such people are gathered, they will become their enemies and will reject their worship.

Waitha tutla AAalayhim ayatuna bayyinatin qala allatheena kafaroo lilhaqqi lamma jaahum hatha sihrun mubeenun

And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, the disbelievers say of the truth (this Qur'ân) when it reaches them: "This is plain magic!"

And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who disbelieve say of the truth when it has come to them, "This is obvious magic."

நம்முடைய தெளிவான வசனங்கள் இவர்களுக்கு ஓதிக் காண்பிக்கப்பட்டால், தங்களிடம் வந்த அந்தச் சத்திய வசனங்களை நிராகரித்துவிட்டு, அவைகளைத் தெளிவான சூனியமென்றும் கூறுகின்றனர்.

மேலும், நம்முடைய தெளிவான வசனங்கள் அவர்களுக்கு ஓதிக் காண்பிக்கப்பட்டால் தங்களிடம் வந்த அந்த உண்மையை நிராகரித்து விட்டார்களே அவர்கள், “இது தெளிவான சூனியமே!” என்றும் கூறுகிறார்கள்.

இன்னும், நம்முடைய வசனங்கள் தெளிவானவையாக அவர்களுக்கு ஓதிக்காண்பிக்கப்பட்டால், சத்திய(வேத)த்தை நிராகரித்து விட்டார்களே அத்தகையோர்_அவ்வுண்மையானது, அவர்களிடம் வந்தபோது இது தெளிவான சூனியமாகும் என்று கூறினார்கள்.

When Our clear verses are recited to them, those who disbelieve say about the truth when it comes to them, “This is clear magic.”

Am yaqooloona iftarahu qul ini iftaraytuhu fala tamlikoona lee mina Allahi shayan huwa aAAlamu bima tufeedoona feehi kafa bihi shaheedan baynee wabaynakum wahuwa alghafooru alrraheemu

Or say they: "He (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) has fabricated it." Say: "If I have fabricated it, still you have no power to support me against Allâh. He knows best of what you say among yourselves concerning it (i.e. this Qur'ân)! Sufficient is He as a witness between me and you! And He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful."

Or do they say, "He has invented it?" Say, "If I have invented it, you will not possess for me [the power of protection] from Allah at all. He is most knowing of that in which you are involved. Sufficient is He as Witness between me and you, and He is the Forgiving the Merciful."

(நபியே!) இதனை நீங்கள் பொய்யாகக் கற்பனை செய்து கொண்டீர்கள் என்று இவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனரா? (அவ்வாறாயின், நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "இதனை நான் பொய்யாகக் கற்பனை செய்துகொண்டால் (அதற்காக) அல்லாஹ் (என்னைத் தண்டிக்க மாட்டானா? அந்நேரத்தில் அல்லாஹ்)வுக்கு எதிரிடையாக நீங்கள் எனக்கு யாதொன்றும் (உதவி) செய்ய சக்தியற்றவர்கள் (தானே!) இதைப் பற்றி (எனக்கு விரோதமாக) நீங்கள் என்னென்ன கூறுகின்றீர்களோ, அவைகளை அவன் நன்கறிந்துமிருக்கின்றான். ஆகவே, எனக்கும் உங்களுக்கும் மத்தியில் அவனே போதுமான சாட்சியாக இருக்கின்றான். அவன் மிக மன்னிப்பவனும், கிருபையுடையவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

அல்லது, “இதனை அவர் இட்டுக்கட்டிக் கொண்டார்” என்று அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றார்களா? நீர் கூறுவீராக: “நான் இதை இட்டுக் கட்டிக் கொண்டிருந்தால், (அல்லாஹ் அதற்காக தண்டிப்பானே; அப்போது) அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து எனக்கு ஏற்படும் எதையும் (தடுக்க) நீங்கள் சக்தி பெற மாட்டீர்கள். நீங்கள் இதைப் பற்றி என்னென்ன கூறுகிறீர்களோ, அதை அவன் நன்கறிகிறவன்; எனக்கும் உங்களுக்குமிடையே (அது பற்றி) அவனே போதுமான சாட்சியாக இருக்கின்றான்; அவன் மிகவும் மன்னிப்பவன்; மிக்க கிருபையுடையவன்” என்று (நபியே! நீர் கூறும்).

அல்லது, (நபியே! குர் ஆனாகிய) இதனை அவர் இட்டுக்கட்டிக் கொண்டார் என்று (உம்மைப்பற்றி) அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனரா? (அவ்வாறாயின், நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக: “இதனை நான் இட்டுகட்டியிருந்தால் (அதற்காக) அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து (உள்ள தண்டனையில்) எதையும் (தடுத்து என்னைக்காப்பாற்றிட) நீங்கள் சக்தி பெறமாட்டீர்கள், இதைப்பற்றி (எனக்கு விரோதமாகக்கூறி) எதில் நீங்கள் மூழ்கியிருக்கிறீர்களோ, அவைகளை அவன் நன்கு அறிவான்: (ஆகவே) எனக்கும், உங்களுக்கும் மத்தியில் சாட்சியாளனாக இருக்க அவனே இதற்குப் போதுமானவன், அவன் மிக்க மன்னிப்போன், பெரும்கிருபையுடையோன்.

Or do they say, “He has fabricated it”? Say, “If I did fabricate it, there is nothing you can do to protect me against Allah. He knows best what you gossip about it. He is Sufficient as a witness between me and you, and He is the All-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.”

Qul ma kuntu bidAAan mina alrrusuli wama adree ma yufAAalu bee wala bikum in attabiAAu illa ma yooha ilayya wama ana illa natheerun mubeenun

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "I am not a new thing among the Messengers (of Allâh, i.e. I am not the first Messenger) nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am but a plain warner."

Say, "I am not something original among the messengers, nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am not but a clear warner."

(நபியே! அவர்களை நோக்கி, பின்னும்) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: (இறைவன் அனுப்பிய) தூதர்களில் நான் புதிதாக வந்தவனல்ல. (எனக்கு முன்னர் தூதர்கள் பலர் வந்தே இருக்கின்றனர்.) அன்றி, என்னைப் பற்றியோ அல்லது உங்களைப் பற்றியோ என்ன செய்யப்படும் என்பதையும் நான் அறியமாட்டேன். எனக்கு வஹ்யி மூலமாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டவைகளை தவிர, (மற்ற எதையும்) நான் பின்பற்றுபவன் அல்ல. நான் பகிரங்கமாக அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவனே தவிர வேறில்லை.

“(இறை) தூதர்களில் நாம் புதிதாக வந்தவனல்லன்; மேலும் என்னைப் பற்றியோ, உங்களைப் பற்றியோ, என்ன செய்யப்படும் என்பதை நான் அறியமாட்டேன், எனக்கு என்ன வஹீ அறிவிக்கப்படுகிறதோ அதைத் தவிர (வேறெதையும்) நான் பின்பற்றுவதில்லை; தெளிவாக அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிப்பவனேயன்றி நான் வேறில்லை” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்.

(நபியே! அவர்களிடம்) நீர் கூறுவீராக: “(அல்லாஹ் அனுப்பிய) தூதர்களில் நான் புதியவனாக இருக்கவில்லை, மேலும், என்னைக் கொண்டும், உங்களைக் கொண்டும் என்ன செய்யப்படும் என்பதையும் நான் அறியேன், எனக்கு வஹீ மூலமாக எதை அறிவிக்கப்படுகிறதோ அதைத் தவிர, (மற்றெதையும்) நான் பின்பற்றுவதில்லை, மேலும், நான் பகிரங்கமாக அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவனே தவிர வேறில்லை.”

Say, “I am not the first of the messengers, nor do I know what will happen to me or to you. I only follow what is revealed to me, and I am not but a clear warner.”

Qul araaytum in kana min AAindi Allahi wakafartum bihi washahida shahidun min banee israeela AAala mithlihi faamana waistakbartum inna Allaha la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena

Say: "Tell me! If this (Qur'ân) is from Allâh and you deny it, and a witness from among the Children of Israel ('Abdullâh bin Salâm [radhi-yAllâhu 'anhu]) testifies that (this Qur'ân is from Allâh) like [the Taurât (Torah)], and he believed (embraced Islâm) while you are too proud (to believe)." Verily, Allâh guides not the people who are Zâlimûn (polytheists, disbelievers and wrongdoing).

Say, "Have you considered: if the Qur'an was from Allah, and you disbelieved in it while a witness from the Children of Israel has testified to something similar and believed while you were arrogant...?" Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "(யூதர்களே! இவ்வேதம்) அல்லாஹ்விடம் இருந்தே வந்திருக்க, அதனை நீங்கள் நிராகரித்து விட்டீர்களே! (உங்கள் இனத்தைச் சார்ந்த) இஸ்ராயீலின் சந்ததிகளிலுள்ள ஒருவர், இதைப்போன்ற ஒரு வேதம் வர வேண்டியதிருக்கின்றது என்று சாட்சியம் கூறி, அதனை அவர் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டுமிருக்க, நீங்கள் பெருமைகொண்டு (இதனை நிராகரித்து) விட்டால், (உங்களுடைய கதி) என்னவாகும் என்பதை கவனித்தீர்களா? நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (இத்தகைய) அநியாயக்கார மக்களை நேரான வழியில் செலுத்தமாட்டான்."

“இது அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து வந்திருந்து இஸ்ராயீலின் மக்களில் ஒரு சாட்சியானவர் இது போன்றது (வர வேண்டியிருந்தது) என்பதில் சாட்சியங்கூறி ஈமான் கொண்டிருக்கும் போது இதனை நீங்கள் நிராகரித்து பெருமை அடித்துக் கொண்டால் (உங்கள் நிலை என்னவாகும் என்பதை) நீங்கள் கவனித்தீர்களா?” என்று நீர் கூறுவீராக! நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் அநியாயக்கார சமூகத்திற்கு நேர்வழி காட்டமாட்டான்.  

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக நீங்கள் பார்த்தீர்களா? இ(வ்வேதமான)து அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து வந்ததாக இருந்து, இதை நீங்கள் நிராகரித்தும் விட்டவர்களாக இருக்கும் நிலையில் (இது உண்மையானது என) இஸ்ராயீலின் மக்களில் உள்ள சாட்சியாளர் இது போன்றதற்கு சாட்சியமும் கூறி (பின்னர் இதை) அவர் விசுவாசமும் கொண்டுள்ளார், (ஆனால், இதை ஏற்காது) நீங்கள் பெருமையும் அடித்துக் கொண்டீர்கள் (ஆகவே, உங்களை விட அநியாயக்காரர்கள் யார்?), நிச்சயமாக, அல்லாஹ் அநியாயக்கார சமூகத்தார்க்கு நேர்வழி காட்டமாட்டன்.

Say, “What do you think, if this [Qur’an] is really from Allah and yet you reject it, and a witness from the Children of Israel has testified in its favor and believed, whereas you persist in arrogance? Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.”

Waqala allatheena kafaroo lillatheena amanoo law kana khayran ma sabaqoona ilayhi waith lam yahtadoo bihi fasayaqooloona hatha ifkun qadeemun

And those who disbelieve (the strong and wealthy) say of those who believe (the weak and poor): "Had it (Islâmic Monotheism to which Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] is inviting mankind) been a good thing, they (the weak and poor) would not have preceded us thereto!" And when they have not let themselves be guided by it (this Qur'ân), they say: "This is an ancient lie!"

And those who disbelieve say of those who believe, "If it had [truly] been good, they would not have preceded us to it." And when they are not guided by it, they will say, "This is an ancient falsehood."

நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் நம்பிக்கையாளர்களை நோக்கி "இவ்வேதம் நன்மையானதாக இருந்தால் (அதனை நம்பிக்கை கொள்ள இப்பாமர மக்கள்) எங்களைவிட முந்திக்கொள்ள மாட்டார்கள். (இதில் யாதொரு நன்மையுமே இல்லை. ஆதலால்தான், அதனை நாங்கள் நிராகரித்து விட்டோம்)" என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர். அவர்கள் இ(வ்வுண்மையான வேதத்)தைப் பின்பற்றாத நிலைமையில், இது பழங்காலத்துப் பொய்யான கட்டுக்கதைகள்தாம் என்றும் அவர்கள் கூறுவார்கள்.

நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் ஈமான் கொண்டவர்களைப்பற்றி: “இது (குர்ஆன்) நல்லதாக இருந்தால், இவர்கள் எங்களைவிட அதன்பால் முந்தியிருக்க மாட்டார்கள்” என்று கூறினார்கள். மேலுமவர்கள் இதைக் கொண்டு நேர்வழி பெறாத போது “இது பண்டைக்காலக் கட்டுக் கதை” எனக் கூறுவார்கள்.

நிராகரிப்போர் விசுவாசிகளிடம்,: “இது நன்மையானதாக இருந்தால், இதனளவில் அவர்கள் எங்களை முந்தியிருக்கமாட்டர்கள், என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர், அவர்கள் இ(வ்வுண்மையான வேதத்)தைக் கொண்டு நேர்வழியும் பெறாத “இது பழைய பொய்யாகும்” என்று அவர்கள் கூறுவார்கள்.

The disbelievers say about the believers, “If this [faith] were something good, they would not have believed in it before us.” Now since they are not guided by it, they will say, “This is an old fabrication.”

Wamin qablihi kitabu moosa imaman warahmatan wahatha kitabun musaddiqun lisanan AAarabiyyan liyunthira allatheena thalamoo wabushra lilmuhsineena

And before this was the Scripture of Mûsâ (Moses) as a guide and a mercy. And this is a confirming Book (the Qur'ân) in the Arabic language, to warn those who do wrong, and as glad tidings to the Muhsinûn (good-doers. See the footnote of V.9:120).

இதற்கு முன்னர், மூஸாவுடைய வேதம் (மக்களுக்கு) வழிகாட்டியாகவும், அருளாகவும் இருந்தது. இதுவோ, (அதனை) உண்மைப்படுத்தும் வேதமாகத் தெளிவான அரபி மொழியில் இருக்கின்றது. அன்றி, அநியாயக்காரர்களுக்கு அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்துகொண்டும், நன்மை செய்பவர்களுக்கு நற்செய்தி கூறிக்கொண்டும் இருக்கின்றது.

இதற்கு முன்னர் மூஸாவின் வேதம் ஒரு இமாமாகவும் (நேர்வழி காட்டியாகவும்) ரஹ்மத்தாகவும் இருந்தது; (குர்ஆனாகிய) இவ்வேதம் (முந்தைய வேதங்களை) மெய்யாக்குகிற அரபி மொழியிலுள்ளதாகும்; இது அநியாயம் செய்வோரை அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிப்பதற்காகவும், நன்மை செய்பவர்களுக்கு நன்மாராயமாகவும் இருக்கிறது.

இதற்கு முன் மூஸாவுடைய வேதம் வழி காட்டியாகவும் அருளாகவும் இருந்தது, (குர் ஆனாகிய) இது (அதனை) உண்மைப்படுத்துகிற அரபி மொழியிலான வேதமாகும், (இது) அநியாயம் செய்வோரை அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்வதற்காகவும், நன்மை செய்வோருக்கு நன்மாராயமாகவும் இருக்கின்றது.

And before it was the Scripture of Moses a guide and a mercy. This Book is a confirmation to it, in the Arabic language, in order to warn those who do wrong and give glad tidings to those who do good.

Inna allatheena qaloo rabbuna Allahu thumma istaqamoo fala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona

Verily, those who say: "Our Lord is (only) Allâh," and thereafter stand firm (on the Islâmic Faith of Monotheism), on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allah," and then remained on a right course - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.

எவர்கள், எங்கள் இறைவன் அல்லாஹ்தான் என்று கூறி (அவன் அருள் புரிந்த இவ்வேதத்தை நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு,) அதில் உறுதியாகவும் இருக்கின்றார்களோ, அவர்களுக்கு நிச்சயமாக யாதொரு பயமுமில்லை; அவர்கள் துக்கப்படவும் மாட்டார்கள்.

நிச்சயமாக எவர்கள் “எங்கள் இறைவன் அல்லாஹ்வே” என்று கூறி, பிறகு அதிலேயே நிலைத்து நிற்கிறார்களோ அவர்களுக்கு பயமில்லை; அவர்கள் துக்கப்படவும் மாட்டார்கள்.

நிச்சயமாக “எங்கள் இரட்சகன் அல்லாஹ்தான்” என்று கூறி (அதன்) பிறகு (அதில்) நிலைத்து இருக்கின்றார்களோ, அத்தகையோர்_அவர்களுக்கு (யாதொரு) பயமுமில்லை, அவர்கள் கவலையும் அடையமாட்டார்கள்.

Indeed, those who say, “Our Lord is Allah”, then remain steadfast, they will have no fear, nor will they grieve.

Olaika ashabu aljannati khalideena feeha jazaan bima kanoo yaAAmaloona

Such shall be the dwellers of Paradise, abiding therein (forever) – a reward for what they used to do.

Those are the companions of Paradise, abiding eternally therein as reward for what they used to do.

இவர்கள்தாம் சுவனவாசிகள். அவர்கள் செய்யும் நன்மைக்குக் கூலியாக என்றென்றுமே அதில் அவர்கள் தங்கி விடுவார்கள்.

அவர்கள் தாம் சுவர்க்கவாசிகள்; அதில் அவர்கள் நன்மை செய்து கொண்டிருந்ததற்குக் கூலியாக அதில் அவர்கள் என்றென்றும் தங்குவார்கள்.

அவர்கள் சுவனவாசிகள், அவர்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்ததற்குக் கூலியாக நிரந்தரமாக அதில் (தங்கி) இருப்பவர்கள்.

They are the people of Paradise; abiding therein forever, as a reward for what they used to do.

Wawassayna alinsana biwalidayhi ihsanan hamalathu ommuhu kurhan wawadaAAathu kurhan wahamluhu wafisaluhu thalathoona shahran hatta itha balagha ashuddahu wabalagha arbaAAeena sanatan qala rabbi awziAAnee an ashkura niAAmataka allatee anAAamta AAalayya waAAala walidayya waan aAAmala salihan tardahu waaslih lee fee thurriyyatee innee tubtu ilayka wainnee mina almuslimeena

And We have enjoined on man to be dutiful and kind to his parents. His mother bears him with hardship. And she brings him forth with hardship, and the bearing of him, and the weaning of him is thirty months, till when he attains full strength and reaches forty years, he says: "My Lord! Grant me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favour which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds, such as please You, and make my offspring good. Truly, I have turned to You in repentance, and truly, I am one of the Muslims (submitting to Your Will)."

And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty months. [He grows] until, when he reaches maturity and reaches [the age of] forty years, he says, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims."

மனிதன் தன்னுடைய தாய் தந்தைக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தும்படி நாம் அவனுக்கு நல்லுபதேசம் செய்தோம். அவனுடைய தாய், கஷ்டத்துடனேயே அவனை (கர்ப்பத்தில்) சுமந்திருந்து கஷ்டத்துடனேயே பிரசவிக்கின்றாள். அவள் கர்ப்பமானதிலிருந்து, இவன் பால்குடி மறக்கும் வரையில், முப்பது மாதங்கள் (மிக்க கஷ்டத்துடன்) செல்கின்றன. இவன் வாலிபமாகி நாற்பது வயதையடைந்தால் "என் இறைவனே! நீ என் மீதும், என் தாய் தந்தை மீதும் புரிந்த அருளுக்காக உனக்கு நான் நன்றி செலுத்தி, உன்னுடைய திருப்தியை அடையக்கூடிய நற்செயல்களைச் செய்யும்படி(யான நல்லறிவை) நீ எனக்குத் தந்தருள்வாயாக! எனக்கு உதவியாக இருக்கும்படி என்னுடைய குடும்பத்தை சீர்திருத்திவை. நிச்சயமாக நான் உன்னையே நோக்கினேன். (உனக்கு) முற்றிலும் வழிபட்டவர்களில் நானும் ஒருவன்" என்று கூறுவான்.

மனிதன் தன் பெற்றோருக்கு நன்மை செய்யும்படி உபதேசம் செய்தோம்; அவனுடைய தாய், வெகு சிரமத்துடனேயே அவனைச் சுமந்து வெகு சிரமத்துடனேயே அவனைப் பெற்றெடுக்கிறாள்; (கர்ப்பத்தில்) அவனைச் சுமப்பதும்; அவனுக்குப் பால் குடி மறக்கச் செய்வதும் (மொத்தம்) முப்பதுமாதங்களாகும். அவன் வாலிபமாகி, நாற்பது வயதை அடைந்ததும்: “இறைவனே! நீ என் மீதும், என் பெற்றோர் மீதும் புரிந்த நிஃமத்துக்காக, (அருள் கொடைகளுக்காக) நன்றி செலுத்தவும், உன்னுடைய திருப்தியை அடையக் கூடிய ஸாலிஹான நல்ல அமல்களைச் செய்யவும் எனக்கு அருள் பாலிப்பாயாக! (இதில் எனக்கு உதவுவதற்காக) என்னுடைய சந்ததியையும் ஸாலிஹானவர்களாக (நல்லது செய்பவர்களாக) சீர்படுத்தியருள்வாயாக! நிச்சயமாக நான் உன்பக்கமே திரும்புகிறேன்; அன்றியும், நான் முஸ்லிம்களில் நின்றுமுள்ளவனாக (உனக்கு முற்றிலும் வழிப்பட்டவனாக) இருக்கின்றேன்” என்று கூறுவான்.

மேலும், தன்னுடைய பெற்றோர்க்கு நன்மை செய்யுமாறு மனிதனுக்கு நாம் உபதேசம் செய்தோம், அவனுடைய தாய், சிரமத்துடன் அவனைச் சுமந்திருந்து, சிரமத்துடன் அவனைப் பிரசவிக்கின்றாள், (அவன்) கர்ப்பத்தில் அவனைச் சுமப்பதும், அவனுக்குப் பால்குடி மறக்கச் செய்வதும் முப்பது மாதங்களாகும். முடிவாக இவன் வாலிபமாகி, நாற்பது வயதை அடைந்ததும். “என் இரட்சகனே! நீ என் மீதும், என் பெற்றோர் மீதும் புரிந்த உன் அருளுக்காக உனக்கு நான் நன்றி செலுத்தி, நீ எதனைப் பொருந்திக் கொள்வாயோ அந்த நற்செயலைச் செய்யவும் (நல்லறிவை) நீ எனக்கு உதிக்கச் செய்வாயாக! எனக்காக என்னுடைய சந்ததியில் (உள்ளோரை) நீ சீர்திருத்தியும் வைப்பாயாக! நிச்சயமாக, நான் தவ்பா செய்து உன்பக்கம் திரும்பிவிட்டேன், நிச்சயமாக, நானோ (உனக்கு முற்றிலும் கீழ்ப்படிந்த முஸ்லிம்களில் (ஒருவனாகவும்) இருக்கிறேன்” என்று கூறுவான்.

We have enjoined upon man kindness to his parents. His mother bore him in hardship and gave birth to him in hardship, and his bearing and weaning take thirty months, until when he reaches full maturity and reaches forty years, he says, “My Lord, inspire me to be grateful to Your favors which You blessed me and my parents with, and to do righteous deeds that will make You pleased; and make my offspring righteous. Indeed, I repent to you, and I am one of the Muslims [submitting to You].”

Olaika allatheena nataqabbalu AAanhum ahsana ma AAamiloo wanatajawazu AAan sayyiatihim fee ashabi aljannati waAAda alssidqi allathee kanoo yooAAadoona

They are those from whom We shall accept the best of their deeds and overlook their evil deeds. (They shall be) among the dwellers of Paradise – a promise of truth, which they have been promised.

Those are the ones from whom We will accept the best of what they did and overlook their misdeeds, [their being] among the companions of Paradise. [That is] the promise of truth which they had been promised.

இத்தகையவர்கள் செய்த நன்மைகள் அனைத்தையும் நாம் அங்கீகரித்துக் கொண்டு, சுவனவாசிகளான இவர்களின் பாவங்களையும் புறக்கணித்து விடுவோம். இவர்களுக்கு அளிக்கப்பட்ட இவ்வாக்கு உண்மையான வாக்குறுதியாகும்.

சுவனவாசிகளான இ(த்தகைய)வர்கள் செய்தவற்றில் அழகான - நன்மையானவற்றை நாம் அங்கீகரித்துக் கொண்டு, இவர்களின் தீவினைகளைப் பொறுப்போம்; இவர்களுக்கு அளிக்கப்பட்டிருந்த வாக்குறுதி உண்மையான வாக்குறுதியாகும்.

அவர்கள் எத்தகயோரேன்றால்_சொர்க்க வாசிகளில் உள்ளவர்களாக இருக்க, அவர்கள் செய்தவற்றில் (உள்ள) மிக அழகானதை நாம் அங்கீகரித்துக் கொண்டு, அவர்களுடைய தீமைகளை விட்டும் புறக்கணித்து விடுவோம், அவர்கள் வாக்களிக்கப் பட்டிருந்தார்களே அத்தகையது உண்மையான வாக்குறுதியாகும்.

Such are those from whom We will accept their best deeds and overlook their misdeeds. They will be among the people of Paradise – a true promise that they were given.

Waallathee qala liwalidayhi offin lakuma ataAAidaninee an okhraja waqad khalati alquroonu min qablee wahuma yastagheethani Allaha waylaka amin inna waAAda Allahi haqqun fayaqoolu ma hatha illa asateeru alawwaleena

But he who says to his parents: "Fie upon you both! Do you hold out the promise to me that I shall be raised up (again) when generations before me have passed away (without rising)?" While they (father and mother) invoke Allâh for help (and rebuke their son): "Woe to you! Believe! Verily, the Promise of Allâh is true." But he says: "This is nothing but the tales of the ancient."

But one who says to his parents, "Uff to you; do you promise me that I will be brought forth [from the earth] when generations before me have already passed on [into oblivion]?" while they call to Allah for help [and to their son], "Woe to you! Believe! Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth." But he says, "This is not but legends of the former people" -

எவன் தன் தாய் தந்தையை நோக்கி (அவர்கள் மறுமையைப் பற்றிக் கூறிய நல்மொழிகளை மறுத்து) "சீச்சீ! உங்களுக்கென்ன நேர்ந்தது! (நான் இறந்தபின்) உயிர்ப்பிக்கப்படுவேன் என்று நீங்கள் என்னைப் பயமுறுத்துகிறீர்களா? எனக்கு முன்னர் எத்தனையோ கூட்டத்தார் சென்று விட்டனர். (அவர்களில் ஒருவருமே வராது இருக்க நான் மட்டும் உயிர் கொடுத்து எழுப்பப்படுவேனா?) என்று அவன் கூறுகின்றான். அதற்கு அவ்விருவரும் (அவனை) பாதுகாக்குமாறு அல்லாஹ்விடம் பிரார்த்தனை செய்து (பின்னர் அவனை நோக்கி) "உனக்கென்ன கேடு! நீ அல்லாஹ்வை நம்பு. நிச்சயமாக அவனுடைய வாக்குறுதி மெய்யானது" என்று கூறுகின்றார்கள். அதற்கவன், "இவைகளெல்லாம் முன்னுள்ளோரின் கட்டுக் கதையே தவிர வேறில்லை. (இதனை நான் நம்பவே மாட்டேன்)" என்று கூறுகின்றான்.

ஆனால் (சன்மார்க்கத்தை தழுவுமாறு கூறிய) தன் பெற்றோரை நோக்கி; “சீச்சீ! உங்களுக்கு என்ன நேர்ந்தது! (மரணத்திற்குப் பின்) நான் உயிர்ப்பித்து எழுப்பப்படுவேன் என்று நீங்கள் என்னைப் பயமுறுத்துகிறீர்களா? திடமாக எனக்கு முன்னர் எத்தனையோ தலைமுறையினர் சென்று விட்டனரே (அவர்கள் எழுப்பப்படவில்லையா)!” என்று கூறியவனைப் பாதுகாக்குமாறு அவ்விருவரும், (அல்லாஹ்விடம் பிரார்த்தித்து பிறகு அவனிடம்) “உனக்கென்ன கேடு! நீ ஈமான் கொள்வாயாக! நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வின் வாக்குறுதி மெய்யானது” என்று அல்லாஹ்விடம் காவல் தேடுகிறார்கள்; அதற்கவன் “இவையெல்லாம் முன்னுள்ளவர்களின் கட்டுக்கதைகளேயன்றி வேறில்லை” என்று கூறுகிறான்.

ஒருவன் தன் பெற்றோரிடம் (அவர்கள் மறுமையைப் பற்றிக் கூறிய நன்மொழிகளை மறுத்து இகழ்ச்சிக்குரிய வார்த்தையான), “சீச்சீ! உங்களுக்குகென்ன நேர்ந்தது! நான் இறந்த பின் உயிர்பித்து வெளியாக்கப்படுவேன் என்று நீங்கள் இருவரும் என்னை பயமுறுத்துகிறீர்களா? திட்டமாக எனக்கு முன்னர் எத்தனையோ தலைமுறையினர் சென்றுவிட்டனர், (அவர்களின் நிலை என்ன?)” என்று கூறுகிறான், (அவனது தீமையிலிருந்து காத்து) இரட்சிக்குமாறு அவ்விருவரும் அல்லாஹ்விடம் பிரார்த்தனை செய்து (பின்னர் அவனிடம்) “உனக்கென்ன கேடு? நீ (அல்லாஹ்வை விசுவாசிப்பாயாக! நிச்சயமாக, அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வாக்குறுதி உண்மையானது” (என்றும் கூறுகின்றார்கள்), அப்பொழுது, “இவைகளெல்லாம் முன்னோரின் கட்டுக் கதைகளேயன்றி வேறில்லை,” என்று அவன் கூறுகின்றான்.

But some say to their parents, “Fie upon you both! Are you warning me that I will be resurrected, even though many generations have passed before me [yet none was resurrected]?” His parents cry seeking Allah’s help, “Woe to you! Believe! The promise of Allah is true.” But he says, “This is nothing but ancient fables.”

Olaika allatheena haqqa AAalayhimu alqawlu fee umamin qad khalat min qablihim mina aljinni waalinsi innahum kanoo khasireena

They are those against whom the Word (of torment) is justified among the previous generations of jinn and mankind that have passed away. Verily, they are ever the losers.

Those are the ones upon whom the word has come into effect, [who will be] among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers.

இத்தகையவர்களின் கதியோ, இவர்களுக்கு முன் சென்றுபோன (பாவிகளான) மனித, ஜின்களிலுள்ள கூட்டத்தார் களைப் போல் (இவர்களும் அழிந்து) இவர்களின் மீதும் (அல்லாஹ் வுடைய வேதனை வந்திறங்கியே தீருமென்ற) வாக்குறுதி உண்மையாகிவிட்டது. நிச்சயமாக இத்தகையவர்கள் நஷ்டமடைந்து விட்டார்கள்.

இத்தகையோரின் நிலையோ, இவர்களுக்கு முன்னே சென்று போன ஜின்கள் மனிதர்கள் கூட்டத்தினரில் (பாவம் செய்ததினால்) எவர்களுக்கு எதிராக (அல்லாஹ்வின்) வாக்கு மெய்யாக உறுதியாய் விடுகிறதோ, அது போன்றது தான்; நிச்சயமாக இவர்கள் நஷ்டவாளிகளாய் விட்டனர்.

(இவ்வாறு கூறும்) இத்தகையோர்_இவர்களுக்கு சென்று போன மனு, ஜின்களிலுள்ள சமூகத்தார்களில் (பாவம் செய்தால், அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வேதனை வந்திறங்கியே தீருமென்ற) இரட்சகனின் கூற்று அவர்களின் மீது உண்மையாகி விட்டது, நிச்சயமாக, அவர்கள் நஷ்டமடைந்தவர்களாகி விட்டனர்.

Such are those upon whom the punishment has become binding, as happened to communities of Jinn and men before them, for they were truly losers.

Walikullin darajatun mimma AAamiloo waliyuwaffiyahum aAAmalahum wahum la yuthlamoona

And for all, there will be degrees according to that which they did, that He (Allâh) may recompense them in full for their deeds. And they will not be wronged.

And for all there are degrees [of reward and punishment] for what they have done, and [it is] so that He may fully compensate them for their deeds, and they will not be wronged.

இவர்களில் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் (நன்மையோ தீமையோ) அவர்கள் செயலுக்குத் தக்க பதவிகள் இருக்கின்றன. ஆகவே, அவர்கள் தங்கள் செயலுக்குரிய கூலியை முழுமையாகவே கொடுக்கப்படுவார்கள். (நன்மையைக் குறைத்தோ, பாவத்தை அதிகரித்தோ) இவர்களில் ஒருவருக்கும் (ஒரு சிறிதும்) அநியாயம் செய்யப்படமாட்டாது.

அன்றியும், ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் அவரவர் செய்த செய்கைகளுக்குத் தகுந்த பதவிகள் (மறுமையில்) உண்டு - ஆகவே அவர்கள் தங்கள் செயலுக்குரிய கூலியைப் பூரணமாகப் பெறுவதற்காக, ஆகவே அவர்கள் (இதில்) அநியாயம் செய்யப்பட மாட்டார்கள்

(இவர்களில்) ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் அவ(ரவ)ர்கள் செயலுக்குத் தக்க பதவிகளிறுக்கின்றன, அவர்களின் செயல்(களுக்குரிய கூலி)களை அவன் அவர்களுக்கு நிறைவு செய்வதற்காகவும், (பதவிகளை நல்குகிறான்,) அவர்கள் அநீதமிழைக்கப்படவும் மாட்டார்கள்.

Everyone will be ranked according to what they did, so that He may recompense them in full for their deeds, and none will be wronged.

Wayawma yuAAradu allatheena kafaroo AAala alnnari athhabtum tayyibatikum fee hayatikumu alddunya waistamtaAAtum biha faalyawma tujzawna AAathaba alhooni bima kuntum tastakbiroona fee alardi bighayri alhaqqi wabima kuntum tafsuqoona

On the Day when those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allâh – Islâmic Monotheism) will be exposed to the Fire (it will be said): "You received your good things in the life of the world, and you took your pleasure therein. Now this Day you shall be recompensed with a torment of humiliation, because you were arrogant in the land without a right, and because you used to rebel against Allâh's Command (disobey Allâh).

And the Day those who disbelieved are exposed to the Fire [it will be said], "You exhausted your pleasures during your worldly life and enjoyed them, so this Day you will be awarded the punishment of [extreme] humiliation because you were arrogant upon the earth without right and because you were defiantly disobedient."

நிராகரிப்பவர்களை நரகத்தின் முன்கொண்டு வரப்படும் நாளில் (அவர்களை நோக்கி) "நீங்கள் உலகத்தில் வாழ்ந்திருந்த காலத்தில், நீங்கள் பெற்றிருந்த நல்லவைகளை எல்லாம், (நன்மையான காரியங்களில் உபயோகிக்காது) உங்களுடைய சுகபோகங்களிலேயே உபயோகித்து இன்பமனுபவித்து விட்டீர்கள். ஆகவே, நீங்கள் பூமியில் நியாயமின்றிப் பெருமையடித்துக் கொண்டும், பாவம் செய்துகொண்டும் இருந்ததன் காரணமாக, இழிவு தரும் வேதனையே இன்றைய தினம் உங்களுக்குக் கூலியாகக் கொடுக்கப்படும்" (என்று கூறப்படும்).

அன்றியும் (நரக) நெருப்பின் முன் நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் கொண்டுவரப்படும் நாளில், “உங்கள் உலக வாழ்க்கையின் போது உங்களுக்குக் கிடைத்திருந்த மணமான பொருட்களையெல்லாம், வீண் செலவு செய்து, (உலக) இன்பம் தேடினீர்கள், “ஆகவே நீங்கள் பூமியில் அநியாயமாகப் பெருமையடித்துக் கொண்டும், வரம்பு மீறி (வாழ்ந்து) கொண்டும் இருந்த காரணத்தால், இழிவு தரும் வேதனையை இன்று நீங்கள் கூலியாகக் கொடுக்கப்படுகிறீர்கள்” (என்று அவர்களுக்குக் கூறப்படும்).  

அன்றியும், நிராகரிப்போர் நரகத்தின் முன் கொண்டுவரப்படும் நாளில் (அவர்களிடம்), “உங்களுடைய நல்லவைகளை உங்களுடைய உலக வாழ்க்கையில் நீங்கள் போக்கிவிட்டீர்கள், அவற்றைக் கொண்டு இன்பமனுவித்தும் விட்டீர்கள், அதுவே, நீங்கள் பூமியில் நியாயமின்றிப் பெருமையடித்துக் கொண்டிருந்த காரணத்தாலும், இன்னும், பாவம் செய்துகொண்டிருந்த காரணத்தாலும் இழிவு தரும் வேதனையை இன்றையத் தினம் நீங்கள் கூலியாகக் கொடுக்கப்படுவீர்கள் (என்று கூறப்படும்).

On the Day when the disbelievers will be brought to the Fire, [they will be told], “You have exhausted your share of pleasures in the life of the world, and you have enjoyed them. Today you will be recompensed with a disgracing punishment for your arrogance in the land without any right and for your rebellion.

Waothkur akha AAadin ith anthara qawmahu bialahqafi waqad khalati alnnuthuru min bayni yadayhi wamin khalfihi alla taAAbudoo illa Allaha innee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawmin AAatheemin

And remember (Hûd) the brother of 'آd, when he warned his people in Al-Ahqâf (the curved sand-hills in the southern part of Arabian Peninsula). And surely, there have passed away warners before him and after him (saying): "Worship none but Allâh; truly, I fear for you the torment of a mighty Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)."

And mention, [O Muhammad], the brother of 'Aad, when he warned his people in the [region of] al-Ahqaf - and warners had already passed on before him and after him - [saying], "Do not worship except Allah. Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day."

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் (ஹூத் நபியாகிய) "ஆது" உடைய சகோதரரை நினைத்துப் பாருங்கள். அவருக்கு முன்னும், பின்னும் தூதர்கள் பலர் (அவர்களிடம்) வந்திருக்கின்றனர். தன்னுடைய மக்களை (அவர்) "அஹ்காஃப்" என்ற (மணற்பாங்கான) இடத்தில் (சந்தித்து அவர்களை நோக்கி) அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்து "அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி (மற்றெவரையும்) நீங்கள் வணங்காதீர்கள். (வணங்கினால்,) நிச்சயமாக மகத்தான நாளின் வேதனை உங்கள் மீது இறங்கி விடுமென்று நான் பயப்படுகின்றேன்" (என்றார்).

மேலும் “ஆது” (சமூகத்தாரின்) சகோதரர் (ஹூது) திடமாகவே, அவருக்கு முன்னரும், அவருக்குப் பின்னரும் எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவர்கள் (இறை தூதர்கள்) வந்திருக்கிறார்கள் - (அவர்) தம் சமூகத்தாரை, “அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி (வேறு எதனையும்) நீங்கள் வணங்காதீர்கள் - நிச்சயமாக ஒரு கடுமையான நாளின் வேதனை உங்களுக்கு வரும் என்று நான் பயப்படுகிறேன்” என்று மணல் குன்றுகளிலிருந்து அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்ததை (நபியே!) நீர் நினைவு கூர்வீராக.

(நபியே!) நீர் (ஹூத் நபியாகிய)” ஆது” உடைய சகோதரரை நினைவு கூர்வீராக! அவர் மணல் குன்றுகளில் (குடி) இருந்த தன் சமூகத்தாரை எச்சரிக்கை செய்த போது, அவருக்கு முன்னும், அவருக்குப் பின்னும் எச்சரிக்கை செய்வோர் திட்டமாக வந்து சென்று விட்டனர், (அவர் தன் சமூகத்தாரிடம்)” அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி (வேறெதனையும்) நீங்கள் வணங்காதீர்கள், நிச்சயமாக மகத்தான நாளின் வேதனையை உங்கள் மீது நான் பயப்படுகிறேன்” (என்றார்).

Remember [Hūd] the brother of ‘Ād, when he warned his people in the [land of] sand dunes – and indeed there came warners before him and after him – [saying], “Worship none but Allah. Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a horrible day.”

Qaloo ajitana litafikana AAan alihatina fatina bima taAAiduna in kunta mina alssadiqeena

They said: "Have you come to turn us away from our âlihah (gods)? Then bring us that with which you threaten us, if you are one of the truthful!"

They said, "Have you come to delude us away from our gods? Then bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the truthful."

அதற்கவர்கள், "எங்களுடைய தெய்வங்களை விட்டும் எங்களைத் திருப்பி விடவா நீங்கள் எங்களிடம் வந்தீர்கள்? நீங்கள் மெய்யாகவே உண்மை சொல்பவராக இருந்தால், நீங்கள் எங்களைப் பயமுறுத்தும் வேதனையை நம்மிடம் கொண்டு வாருங்கள்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

அதற்கு அவர்கள்: “எங்களுடைய தெய்வங்களை விட்டும் எங்களைத் திருப்பி விட நீர் எங்களிடம் வந்தீரா? நீர் உண்மையாளராக இருந்தால், நீர் எதைக் கொண்டு எங்களை பயமுறுத்துகிறீரோ அ(வ் வேதனையான)தைக் கொண்டு வாரும்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

அ(தற்க)வர்கள் “எங்களுடைய (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) தெய்வங்களை விட்டு, எங்களைத் திருப்பிவிட நீர் எங்களிடம் வந்தீரா? நீர் உண்மையாளர்களில் இருந்தால், நீர் எங்களுக்கு எதைக் கொண்டுவாக்களித்தீரோ அ(வ்வேதனையான)தை நம்மிடம் கொண்டு வாரும்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

They said, “Have you come to turn us away from our gods? Then bring us what you are threatening us with, if you are truthful.”

Qala innama alAAilmu AAinda Allahi waoballighukum ma orsiltu bihi walakinnee arakum qawman tajhaloona

He said: "The knowledge (of the time of its coming) is with Allâh only. And I convey to you that wherewith I have been sent, but I see that you are a people given to ignorance!"

He said, "Knowledge [of its time] is only with Allah, and I convey to you that with which I was sent; but I see you [to be] a people behaving ignorantly."

அதற்கவர், (அவர்களை நோக்கி "உங்களுக்கு வேதனை எப்பொழுது அனுப்பப்படும் என்ற ஞான விஷயம்) எல்லாம் அல்லாஹ்விடம்தான் இருக்கின்றன. எவ்விஷயத்தை உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்க நான் அனுப்பப்பட்டேனோ, அதனையே நான் உங்களுக்கு எடுத்துரைக்கின்றேன். ஆயினும், நீங்கள் அறிவில்லாத மக்கள் என்று நான் எண்ணுகின்றேன்" என்று கூறினார்.

அதற்கவர்: “(அது எப்பொழுது வரும் என்ற) ஞானம் நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்விடம் தான் இருக்கிறது; மேலும், நான் எதைக் கொண்டு உங்களிடம் அனுப்பப்பட்டிருக்கிறேனோ அதையே நான் உங்களுக்குச் சேர்ப்பித்து, எடுத்துரைக்கின்றேன் - எனினும் நான் உங்களை அறிவில்லாத சமூகத்தாராகவே காண்கிறேன்” என்று கூறினார்.

அ(தற்க)வர்கள் (“வேதனை எப்பொழுது என்ற) அறிவு எல்லாம் அல்லாஹ்விடமே இருக்கின்றது, அன்றியும், எதனைக்கொண்டு நான் அனுப்பப்பட்டேனோ அதனையே நான் உங்களுக்கு எத்திவைக்கிறேன், என்றாலும் உங்களை நான் அறிவில்லாத சமூகத்தவராகவே காணுகிறேன்” என்றார்.

He said, “The knowledge [of its coming] is with Allah alone. I only convey to you the message that I have been sent with, but I see that you are an ignorant people.”

Falamma raawhu AAaridan mustaqbila awdiyatihim qaloo hatha AAaridun mumtiruna bal huwa ma istaAAjaltum bihi reehun feeha AAathabun aleemun

Then, when they saw it as a dense cloud coming towards their valleys, they said: "This is a cloud bringing us rain!" Nay, but it is that (torment) which you were asking to be hastened – a wind wherein is a painful torment!

And when they saw it as a cloud approaching their valleys, they said, "This is a cloud bringing us rain!" Rather, it is that for which you were impatient: a wind, within it a painful punishment,

பின்னர், (வேதனைக்கு அறிகுறியாக வந்த) மேகம் அவர்கள் இருந்த பள்ளத்தாக்குகளை நோக்கி வருவதை அவர்கள் காணவே, "இது எங்களுக்கு மழை பெய்ய வரும் மேகம்தான்" என்று கூறினார்கள். (அதற்கு அவர்களை நோக்கி) "அல்ல! இது நீங்கள் அவசரப்பட்ட வேதனைதான் என்றும், இது ஒரு காற்று; இதில் துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனை இருக்கின்றது" (என்றும் கூறப்பட்டது).

ஆனால் அவர்களோ (அவர்களுக்கு அனுப்பப்பட்ட வேதனை) அவர்கள் இருந்த பள்ளத்தாக்குகளை நோக்கி மேகமாக வருவதைக் கண்டதும், “இது நமக்கு மழையைப் பொழியும் மேகமாகும்” எனக் கூறினார்கள்; “அப்படியல்ல, இது நீங்கள் (எதற்காக) அவசரப்பட்டீர்களோ அதுதான்; (இது கொடுங்)காற்று - இதில் நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனை இருக்கிறது:

பின்னர், அதனை தம்முடைய பள்ளத் தாக்குகளை முன்னோக்கி வருகின்ற மேகமாக அவர்கள் கண்டபோது, இது எங்களுக்கு பெய்யவரும் மேகம்தான் என்று கூறினார்கள், (அதற்கு அவர்களிடம்) அப்படியல்ல! இது நீங்கள் எதற்காக அவரசரப்பட்டீர்களோ அதுதான், (இது ஒரு) கொடுங்காற்று, இதில் துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனை இருக்கின்றது” (என்றும்).

When they saw it as a cloud approaching their valleys, they said, “This is a cloud bringing us rain.” [Hūd said,] No, it is what you sought to hasten – a wind bearing a painful punishment.

Tudammiru kulla shayin biamri rabbiha faasbahoo la yura illa masakinuhum kathalika najzee alqawma almujrimeena

Destroying everything by the Command of its Lord! So they became such that nothing could be seen except their dwellings! Thus do We recompense the people who are Mujrimûn (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners)!

Destroying everything by command of its Lord. And they became so that nothing was seen [of them] except their dwellings. Thus do We recompense the criminal people.

ஆகவே, அது தன் இறைவனின் கட்டளைப்படி எல்லாவற்றையும் அழித்து விட்டது. அவர்கள் இருந்த வீடுகளைத் தவிர, (அனைவரும் அழிந்து ஒருவருமே) காணப்படாமல் ஆகிவிட்டார்கள். இவ்வாறே குற்றம் செய்யும் மக்களுக்கு நாம் கூலி கொடுக்கின்றோம்.

“அது தன் இறைவனின் கட்டளையினால் எல்லாப் பொருட்களையும் அழித்துவிடும்” (என்று கூறப்பட்டது). பொழுது விடிந்த போது, (அழிக்கப்பட்ட அவர்களுடைய) வீடுகளைத் தவிர (வேறு) எதுவும் காணப்படவில்லை - இவ்வாறே குற்றம் செய்யும் சமூகத்திற்கு நாம் கூலி கொடுக்கிறோம்.

அது தன் இரட்சகனின் கட்டளைப்படி சகல பொருட்களையும் அழித்து விடும் (என்றும் ஹூத் கூறினார். அவர்கள் வசித்திருந்து அழிந்த) அவர்களுடைய குடியிருப்புகளைத் தவிர வேறென்றும் காணப்படாதாவாறு காலையில் அவர்கள் (அழிவிற்குள்) ஆகி விட்டனர், இவ்வாறே குற்றவாளிகளான கூட்டத்தினருக்கு கூலி கொடுக்கின்றோம்.

It will destroy everything by the command of its Lord. And they became such that there was nothing left visible except [ruins of] their dwellings. This is how We recompense the wicked people.

Walaqad makkannahum feema in makkannakum feehi wajaAAalna lahum samAAan waabsaran waafidatan fama aghna AAanhum samAAuhum wala absaruhum wala afidatuhum min shayin ith kanoo yajhadoona biayati Allahi wahaqa bihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona

And indeed We had firmly established them with that wherewith We have not established you (O Quraish)! And We had assigned them the (faculties of) hearing (ears), seeing (eyes), and hearts; but their hearing (ears), seeing (eyes), and their hearts availed them nothing since they used to deny the Ayât (Allâh's Prophets and their Prophethood, proofs, evidences, verses, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allâh, and they were completely encircled by that which they used to mock at!

And We had certainly established them in such as We have not established you, and We made for them hearing and vision and hearts. But their hearing and vision and hearts availed them not from anything [of the punishment] when they were [continually] rejecting the signs of Allah; and they were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.

உங்களுக்குச் செய்து கொடுக்காத வசதிகளையெல்லாம் நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்களுக்குச் செய்து கொடுத்திருந்தோம். அன்றி, நாம் அவர்களுக்குச் செவியையும் (கொடுத்தோம்.) கண்களையும் (கொடுத்தோம். சிந்திக்கக்கூடிய) உள்ளத்தையும் கொடுத்தோம். ஆயினும், அவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வினுடைய வசனங்களை நிராகரித்ததன் காரணமாக அவர்களுடைய செவிகளும், அவர்களுடைய கண்களும், அவர்களுடைய உள்ளங்களும் அவர்களுக்கு யாதொரு பயனுமளிக்கவில்லை. அவர்கள் பரிகாசம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்த தண்டனை அவர்களைச் சூழ்ந்துகொண்டது.

உங்களுக்கு (மக்காவாசிகளுக்கு) இங்கு எதில் வசதிகள் செய்து கொடுக்காதிருந்தோமோ அவ்வசதிகளையெல்லாம் நாம் அவர்களுக்குத் திடமாகச் செய்து கொடுத்திருந்தோம். மேலும் அவர்களுக்கும் செவிப் புலனையும் பார்வைகளையும் இருதயங்களையும் நாம் கொடுத்திருந்தோம்; ஆயினும் அவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் வசனங்களை நிராகரித்துக் கொண்டிருந்த போது, அவர்களுடைய செவிப் புலனும், பார்வைகளும் இருதயங்களும் அவர்களுக்கு யாதோர் பயனுமளிக்கவில்லை - எ(வ்வே)தனைப் பற்றி அவர்கள் பரிகாசம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தார்களோ, அதுவே அவர்களைச் சூழ்ந்து கொண்டது.  

மேலும், உங்களுக்கு எதில் நாம் வசதி செய்து கொடுக்கவில்லையோ அதில் அவர்களுக்குத் திட்டமாக நாம் வசதி செய்து கொடுத்திருந்தோம், மேலும், அவர்களுக்குச் செவிப்புலனையும், பார்வைகளையும், இதயங்களையும் நாம் ஆக்கினோம், ஆயினும் அவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வசனங்களை நிராகரித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தவர்களாக இருந்த சமயத்தில் அவர்களுடைய செவிப்புலனும், அவர்களுடைய பார்வைகளும், அவர்களுடைய இதயங்களும் அவர்களுக்கு யாதொரு பயனுமளிக்கவில்லை, எதனை பரிகாசம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தார்களோ அது அவர்களைச் சூழ்ந்தும் கொண்டது.

We had given them power to an extent that We have not given you [O Makkans], and We gave them hearing, sight, and hearts. But neither their hearing, nor their sight, nor their hearts availed them in the least, for they used to reject the signs of Allah. And they were overwhelmed by what they used to ridicule.

Walaqad ahlakna ma hawlakum mina alqura wasarrafna alayati laAAallahum yarjiAAoona

And indeed We have destroyed towns (populations) round about you, and We have (repeatedly) shown (them) the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) in various ways that they might return (to the truth and believe in the Oneness of Allâh – Islâmic Monotheism).

And We have already destroyed what surrounds you of [those] cities, and We have diversified the signs [or verses] that perhaps they might return [from disbelief].

உங்களைச் சூழ்ந்து (வசித்து) இருந்த ஊரார்களையும் நிச்சயமாக நாம் அழித்துவிட்டோம். அவர்கள் (பாவத்திலிருந்து விலகி நம்மிடம்) திரும்பி வரும் பொருட்டுப் பல அத்தாட்சிகளை (ஒன்றன்பின் ஒன்றாக) நாம் காண்பித்து வந்தோம். (எனினும், அவைகளை அவர்கள் பொருட்படுத்தவே இல்லை. ஆதலால், நாம் அவர்களை அழித்துவிட்டோம்.)

அன்றியும், உங்களைச் சுற்றி இருந்த ஊ(ரா)ர்களையும் திடமாக நாம் அழித்திருக்கிறோம், அவர்கள் (நேர்வழிக்கு) மீளும் பொருட்டு நாம் (அவர்களுக்குப்) பல அத்தாட்சிகளைத் திருப்பித் திருப்பிக் காண்பித்தோம்.

ஊர்களில் உங்களைச் சுற்றியுள்ளவைகளையும் நிச்சயமாக நாம் அழித்து விட்டோம், அவர்கள் (பாவத்திலிருந்து) திரும்புவதற்காக அத்தாட்சிகளை நாம் திரும்பத் திரும்பக் காண்பித்தோம்.

We have certainly destroyed some towns around you and had given them numerous signs, so that they might return [from disbelief].

Falawla nasarahumu allatheena ittakhathoo min dooni Allahi qurbanan alihatan bal dalloo AAanhum wathalika ifkuhum wama kanoo yaftaroona

Then why did those whom they had taken for âlihah (gods) besides Allâh, as a way of approach (to Allâh) not help them? Nay, but they vanished completely from them (when there came the torment). And that was their lie, and their inventions which they had been inventing (before their destruction).

Then why did those they took besides Allah as deities by which to approach [Him] not aid them? But they had strayed from them. And that was their falsehood and what they were inventing.

(அல்லாஹ்வுக்குத்) தங்களைச் சமீபமாக்கி வைக்கக்கூடிய தெய்வங்கள் என்று அல்லாஹ் அல்லாதவைகளை இவர்கள் எடுத்துக் கொண்டார்களே, அவைகளேனும் இவர்களுக்கு உதவி செய்திருக்க வேண்டாமா? ஆனால், அவைகளெல்லாம் இவர்களை விட்டும் மறைந்து விட்டன. இவைகளெல்லாம் அவர்கள் கற்பனை செய்துகொண்டு பொய்யாகக் கூறியவைகள்தாம் (என்று தெளிவாகி விட்டது).

(அல்லாஹ்விடம் தங்களை) நெருங்க வைக்கும் தெய்வங்களென்று அல்லாஹ் அல்லாதவற்றை இவர்கள் எடுத்துக் கொண்டார்களே, அவர்கள் ஏன் இவர்களுக்கு உதவி புரியவில்லை? ஆனால், அவர்கள் இவர்களை விட்டும் மறைந்து விட்டனர் - அவர்களே இவர்கள் பொய்யாகக் கூறியவையும், இட்டுக் கட்டியவையுமாகும்.

(தங்களை அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) சமீபமாக்கி வைக்ககூடிய (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) தெய்வங்களென்று அல்லாஹ் அல்லாதவற்றை இவர்கள் எடுத்துக் கொண்டார்களே அத்தகையவர்கள் இவர்களுக்கு உதவி செய்திருக்க வேண்டாமா? இல்லை, அவர்களெல்லாம் இவர்களை விட்டு மறைந்து விட்டனர், இது, அவர்கள் பொய்யாகக் கூறியதும், அவர்கள் இட்டுக்கட்டிக் கொண்டிருந்தார்களே அதுவுமாகும் (என்று தெளிவாகிவிட்டது).

Why is it that they were not helped by those [idols] whom they took as gods besides Allah so that they might bring them closer to Him? Rather, they were lost from them. Such was [the outcome of] their falsehood and the lies they used to fabricate.

Waith sarafna ilayka nafaran mina aljinni yastamiAAoona alqurana falamma hadaroohu qaloo ansitoo falamma qudiya wallaw ila qawmihim munthireena

And (remember) when We sent towards you (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) a group (three to ten persons) of the jinn, (quietly) listening to the Qur'ân. When they stood in the presence thereof, they said: "Listen in silence!" And when it was finished, they returned to their people, as warners.

And [mention, O Muhammad], when We directed to you a few of the jinn, listening to the Qur'an. And when they attended it, they said, "Listen quietly." And when it was concluded, they went back to their people as warners.

(நபியே!) இந்தக் குர்ஆனைக் கேட்கும் பொருட்டு, ஜின்களில் சிலரை நாம் உங்களிடம் வருமாறு செய்து, அவர்கள் வந்த சமயத்தில் (அவர்கள் தங்கள் மக்களை நோக்கி) "நீங்கள் வாய் பொத்தி (இதனைக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டு) இருங்கள்" என்று கூறினார்கள். (இது) ஓதி முடிவு பெறவே, தங்கள் இனத்தார்களிடம் சென்று அவர்களுக்கு அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்ய முற்பட்டனர்.

மேலும் (நபியே!) நாம் உம்மிடம் இந்த குர்ஆனை செவியுறும் பொருட்டு ஜின்களில் சிலரை திருப்பியதும், அவர்கள் அங்கு வந்த போது, “மௌனமாக இருங்கள்” என்று (மற்றவர்களுக்குச்) சொன்னார்கள்; (ஓதுதல்) முடிந்ததும் தம் இனத்தாரிடம் சென்று அவர்களை அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்தனர்.

(நபியே!) ஜின்களில் சிலரை இந்தக் குர் ஆனை அவர்கள் செவியேற்பதற்காக உம்மிடம் நாம் திருப்பியதையும் (நினைவு கூர்வீராக!) பின்னர் அவர்கள் அங்கு வந்தடைந்து (சிலர் சிலரிடம்) “நீங்கள் வாய் பொத்தி இருங்கள்” என்று கூறினார்கள், பிறகு அது முடிக்கப்பட்டபோது, தங்கள் கூட்டத்தாரிடம் அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவர்களாகத் திரும்பினர்.

And [remember] when We sent to you a group of jinn to listen to the Qur’an. When they heard it, they said [to one another], “Listen attentively.” Then when it was over, they returned to their people as warners.

Qaloo ya qawmana inna samiAAna kitaban onzila min baAAdi moosa musaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi yahdee ila alhaqqi waila tareeqin mustaqeemin

They said: "O our people! Verily, we have heard a Book (this Qur'ân) sent down after Mûsâ (Moses), confirming what came before it, it guides to the truth and to a Straight Path (i.e. Islâm).

They said, "O our people, indeed we have heard a [recited] Book revealed after Moses confirming what was before it which guides to the truth and to a straight path.

(அவர்களை நோக்கி) "எங்களுடைய இனத்தார்களே! நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் ஒரு வேதத்தைச் செவியுற்றோம். அது மூஸாவுக்குப் பின்னர் அருளப்பட்டிருக்கின்றது. அது, தனக்கு முன்னுள்ள வேதங்களையும் உண்மைப்படுத்துகின்றது. அது சத்தியத்திலும், நேரான வழியிலும் செலுத்துகின்றது.

(ஜின்கள்) கூறினார்கள்: “எங்களுடைய சமூகத்தார்களே! நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் ஒரு வேதத்தைச் செவிமடுத்தோம், அது மூஸாவுக்குப் பின்னர் இறக்கப்பட்டிருக்கின்றது, அது தனக்கு முன்னுள்ள வேதங்களை உண்மை படுத்துகிறது. அது உண்மையின் பக்கமும், நேரான மார்க்கத்தின் பாலும் (யாவருக்கும்) “வழி” காட்டுகின்றது.

(அவர்களிடம்,) “எங்களுடைய கூட்டத்தார்களே! நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் ஒரு வேதத்தைச் செயவியுற்றோம், (அது) தனக்கு முன்னுள்ளதை (வேதங்களை) உண்மைப்படுத்துகின்ற நிலையில் மூஸாவுக்குப் பின் (அது) இறக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது, அது சத்தியத்தின் (உண்மை மார்க்கத்தின்) பாலும், நேரான வழியின் பாலும் வழி காட்டுகிறது” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

They said, “O our people, we have heard a scripture that has been sent down after Moses, confirming what came before it; it guides to the truth and to a straight path.

Ya qawmana ajeeboo daAAiya Allahi waaminoo bihi yaghfir lakum min thunoobikum wayujirkum min AAathabin aleemin

"O our people! Respond (with obedience) to Allâh's Caller (i.e. Allâh's Messenger Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]), and believe in him (i.e. believe in that which Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] has brought from Allâh and follow him). He (Allâh) will forgive you of your sins, and will save you from a painful torment (i.e. Hell-fire).

O our people, respond to the Messenger of Allah and believe in him; Allah will forgive for you your sins and protect you from a painful punishment.

எங்களுடைய இனத்தார்களே! அல்லாஹ்வின் அளவில் அழைப்பவர்களுக்குப் பதில் கூறி, அவரை நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளுங்கள். உங்களுடைய பாவங்களை (அல்லாஹ்) மன்னித்தும் விடுவான். துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையிலிருந்து உங்களை காப்பாற்றுவான்.

“எங்கள் சமூகத்தாரே! உங்களை அல்லாஹ்வின் பக்கம் அழைப்பவருக்கு பதிலளித்து (அவர் கூறுவதை ஏற்று) அவர் மீது ஈமான் கொள்ளுங்கள். அவன் உங்கள் பாவங்களிலிருந்து உங்களுக்கு மன்னிப்பளிப்பான், நோவினை தரும் வேதனையிலிருந்து உங்களைப் பாதுகாப்பான்.

“எங்களுடைய சமூகத்தாரே! அல்லாஹ்வின் அழைப்பாளருக்கு நீங்கள் பதில் கூறுங்கள், மேலும், அவரை விசுவாசியுங்கள், (அதன் பொருட்டு) உங்களுடைய பாவங்களை உங்களுக்கு அவன் (அல்லாஹ்) மன்னித்து விடுவான், துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையிலிருந்தும் உங்களை அவன் காத்துக்கொள்வான்” (என்றும்).

O our people, respond to the one who is calling to Allah, and believe in him; He will forgive some of your sins and protect you from a painful punishment.

Waman la yujib daAAiya Allahi falaysa bimuAAjizin fee alardi walaysa lahu min doonihi awliyaa olaika fee dalalin mubeenin

"And whosoever does not respond to Allâh's Caller, he cannot escape on earth, and there will be no Auliyâ' (lords, helpers, supporters, protectors) for him besides Allâh (from Allâh's punishment). Those are in manifest error."

But he who does not respond to the Caller of Allah will not cause failure [to Him] upon earth, and he will not have besides Him any protectors. Those are in manifest error."

எவன் அல்லாஹ்வின் பக்கம் அழைப்பவர்களுக்குப் பதில் கூறவில்லையோ (அவனை நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் தண்டிப்பான். தண்டனையில் இருந்து தப்ப) அவன் பூமியில் எங்கு ஓடிய போதிலும் அல்லாஹ்வைத் தோற்கடிக்க முடியாது. அல்லாஹ்வை யன்றி, அவனுக்கு பாதுகாப்பவர் ஒருவருமில்லை. (அவனைப் புறக்கணிக்கும்) இத்தகையவர்கள் பகிரங்கமான வழிகேட்டில்தான் இருப்பர்" என்றார்கள்.

“ஆனால், எவர் அல்லாஹ்வின் பக்கம் அழைப்பவருக்கு பதிலளிக்க வில்லையோ, அவர் பூமியில் (அல்லாஹ்வை) இயலாமல் ஆக்க முடியாது; அவனையன்றி அவரை பாதுகாப்போர் எவருமில்லை, அ(த்தகைய)வர்கள் பகிரங்கமான வழிகேட்டிலேயே இருக்கின்றார்கள்.”

“எவர் அல்லாஹ்வின் அழைப்பாளருக்கு பதில் கூறவில்லையோ அவர் பூமியில் (அல்லாஹ்வை) இயலாமல் ஆக்கி விடுபவரல்லர், (அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) அவனையன்றி, அவருக்கு உதவியாளர்களுமில்லை, அ(த்தகைய)வர்கள் பகிரங்கமான வழிகேட்டில் இருக்கிறார்கள்” (என்றும் ஜின்கள் கூறினார்கள்).

And whoever does not respond to the one who is calling to Allah will have no escape on earth, nor will he have any protectors against Him; such people are clearly misguided.”

Awalam yaraw anna Allaha allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda walam yaAAya bikhalqihinna biqadirin AAala an yuhyiya almawta bala innahu AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

Do they not see that Allâh, Who created the heavens and the earth, and was not wearied by their creation, is Able to give life to the dead? Yes, He surely is Able to do all things.

Do they not see that Allah, who created the heavens and earth and did not fail in their creation, is able to give life to the dead? Yes. Indeed, He is over all things competent.

வானங்களையும், பூமியையும் எவ்வித சிரமமின்றி படைத்த அல்லாஹ், மரணித்தவர்களை உயிர்ப்பிக்க நிச்சயமாக ஆற்றல் உடையவன்தான் என்பதை அவர்கள் கவனிக்க வேண்டாமா? நிச்சயமாக அவன் சகலவற்றிற்கும் ஆற்றலுடையவன்.

வானங்களையும், பூமியையும் படைத்து அவற்றின் படைப்பால் எவ்வித சோர்வுமின்றி இருக்கின்றானே அல்லாஹ் அவன் நிச்சயமாக மரித்தோரை உயிர்ப்பிக்கும் ஆற்றலுடையவன்; ஆம்! நிச்சயமாக அவன் எல்லாப் பொருள்கள் மீதும் பேராற்றலுடையவன் என்பதை அவர்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா?

நிச்சயமாக வானங்களையும், பூமியையும் படைத்து, இன்னும், அவைகளைப் படைத்ததால் சோர்வடையவில்லையே அத்தகைய அல்லாஹ் மரணித்தோரை உயிர்ப்பிக்க ஆற்றலுடையவன் என்பதை அவர்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா? ஆம்! நிச்சயமாக அவன் ஒவ்வொரு பொருளின் மீதும் ஆற்றலுடையவன்.

Do they not see that Allah, Who created the heavens and earth, and was not wearied by creating them, is able to bring the dead to life? Yes indeed! He is Most Capable of all things.

Wayawma yuAAradu allatheena kafaroo AAala alnnari alaysa hatha bialhaqqi qaloo bala warabbina qala fathooqoo alAAathaba bima kuntum takfuroona

And on the Day when those who disbelieve will be exposed to the Fire (it will be said to them): "Is this not the truth?" They will say: "Yes, by our Lord!" He will say: "Then taste the torment, because you used to disbelieve!"

And the Day those who disbelieved are exposed to the Fire [it will be said], "Is this not the truth?" They will say, "Yes, by our Lord." He will say, "Then taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve."

நிராகரிப்பவர்களை நரகத்தின் முன் கொண்டு வரப்படும் நாளில் (அவர்களை நோக்கி,) "இது உண்மையல்லவா? (என்று கேட்கப்படும்.) அதற்கு அவர்கள் "எங்கள் இறைவன் மீது சத்தியமாக! உண்மைதான்" என்று கூறுவார்கள். (அதற்கவர்களை நோக்கி) "நீங்கள் இதனை நிராகரித்ததன் காரணமாக இதன் வேதனையை நீங்கள் அனுபவித்துக் கொண்டிருங்கள்" என்று கூறுவான்.

மேலும், நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் (நரக) நெருப்பின் முன் கொண்டுவரப்படும் நாளில் (அவர்களிடம்) “இது உண்மையல்லவா?” (என்று கேட்கப்படும்;) அதற்வர்கள், “எங்கள் இறைவன் மீது சத்தியமாக, உண்மைதான்” என்று கூறுவார்கள். “நீங்கள் நிராகரித்துக் கொண்டிருந்ததற்காக இவ்வேதனையை அனுபவியுங்கள்” என்று அவன் கூறுவான்.

மேலும், நிராகரிப்போரை நரகத்தின் முன் கொண்டு வரப்படும் நாளில் (அவர்களிடம்,) “இது உண்மையானதாக இல்லையா?” (என்று கேட்கப்படும்) அ(தற்க)வர்கள் “எங்களிரட்சகன் மீது சத்தியமாக! ஆம், (உண்மைதான்)” என்று கூறுவார்கள். (அதற்கவர்களிடம்) ”நீங்கள் நிராகரித்துக் கொண்டிருந்ததன் காரணமாக (இதன்) வேதனையை நீங்கள் சுவைத்துக் கொண்டிருங்கள்” என்று (அல்லாஹ்) கூறுவான்.

On the Day when the disbelievers are exposed to the Fire, [they will be asked], “Is this not the truth?” They will say, “Yes indeed, by our Lord.” He will say, “Then taste the punishment for your disbelief.”

Faisbir kama sabara oloo alAAazmi mina alrrusuli wala tastaAAjil lahum kaannahum yawma yarawna ma yooAAadoona lam yalbathoo illa saAAatan min naharin balaghun fahal yuhlaku illa alqawmu alfasiqoona

Therefore be patient (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) as did the Messengers of strong will and be in no haste about them (disbelievers). On the Day when they will see that (torment) with which they are promised (i.e. threatened, it will be) as if they had not stayed more than an hour in a single day. (O mankind! this Qur'ân is sufficient as) a clear Message (or proclamation to save yourself from destruction). But shall any be destroyed except the people who are Al-Fâsiqûn (rebellious against Allâh's Command, disobedient to Allâh)?

So be patient, [O Muhammad], as were those of determination among the messengers and do not be impatient for them. It will be - on the Day they see that which they are promised - as though they had not remained [in the world] except an hour of a day. [This is] notification. And will [any] be destroyed except the defiantly disobedient people?

(நபியே!) நம்முடைய தூதர்களிலுள்ள வீரர்கள் (கஷ்டங்களைச்) சகித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தபடியே நீங்களும் சகித்துக் கொண்டு பொறுமையாக இருங்கள். அவர்களுக்கு (வேதனையை) நீங்கள் அவசரப்பட வேண்டாம். அவர்களுக்கு வாக்களிக்கப் பட்டதை அவர்கள் காணும் நாளில் (இப்புவியில்) ஒரு பகலில் ஒரு நாழிகையே தவிர (அதிகமாக)த் தங்கியிருக்கவில்லை என்று அவர்கள் எண்ணுவார்கள். (இதனை) அவர்களுக்கு (நீங்கள்) அறிவிக்க வேண்டும். ஆகவே, பாவம் செய்த மக்களைத் தவிர (மற்றெவரும்) அழிக்கப்படுவார்களா? (இல்லவே இல்லை.)

“(நபியே!) நம் தூதர்களில் திடசித்தமுடையவர்கள் பொறுமையாக இருந்தது போல், நீரும் பொறுமையுடன் இருப்பீராக! இவர்களுக்காக (வேதனையை வரவழைக்க) அவசரப்படாதீர்! இவர்களுக்கு வாக்களிக்கப்பட்டதை இவர்கள் பார்க்கும் நாளில், அவர்கள் (இப்பூமியில்) ஒரு நாளில் ஒரு நாழிகைக்கு மேல் இருக்கவில்லை (என்று எண்ணுவார்கள். இது) தெளிவாக அறிவிக்க வேண்டியதே! எனவே, வரம்பு மீறியவர்கள் தவிர (வேறு எவரும்) அழிக்கப்படுவார்களா?

(நபியே! நம்முடைய) தூதர்களிலுள்ள உறுதிமிக்கவர்கள், (கஷ்டங்களை) பொறுத்துக் கொண்டிருந்த பிரகாரமே, நீரும் பொறுமையாக இருப்பீராக! (நிராகரித்த) அவர்களுக்காக (வேதனையை) நீர் அவசரப்பட வேண்டாம், அவர்களுக்கு வாக்களிக்கப்பட்டதை அவர்கள் காணும் நாளில், (இப்புவியில்) ஒரு பகலில் ஒரு நாழிகையேயன்றி (அதிகமாகத்) தாம் தங்காதவர்களைப் போன்றிருப்பார்கள் (இது உம்மால் அவர்களுக்கு) எத்திவைக்கப்பட வேண்டியதாகும், ஆகவே, பாவம் செய்த கூட்டத்தினரைத் தவிர (மற்றெவரும்) அழிக்கப்படுவார்களா?

So be patient, as the Messengers of Firm Resolve were patient, and do not seek to hasten [punishment] for them. On the Day when they see what they were warned of, it will be as if they had only stayed [in this world] for an hour of a day. This is a warning. Will anyone be destroyed except the rebellious people?
