Hâ-Mîm.[These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'ân, and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings.]

Ha, Meem.

ஹாமீம்.

ஹா, மீம்.

ஹாமீம்.

Hā Mīm.

Waalkitabi almubeeni

By the manifest Book (i.e. this Qur'ân that makes things clear).

By the clear Book,

தெளிவான இந்த வேதத்தின் மீது சத்தியமாக!

விளக்கமான இவ்வேதத்தின் மீது சத்தியமாக.

தெளிவான வேதத்தின் மீது சத்தியமாக,

By the clear Book,

Inna jaAAalnahu quranan AAarabiyyan laAAallakum taAAqiloona

Verily, We have made it a Qur'ân in Arabic that you may be able to understand (its meanings and its admonitions).

Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand.

(மக்காவாசிகளே!) நீங்கள் (எளிதில்) அறிந்துகொள்ளும் பொருட்டே இவ்வேதத்தை (நீங்கள் பேசும் உங்களுடைய) அரபி மொழியில் அமைத்தோம்.

நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொள்வதற்காக இதனை நாம் அரபி மொழி குர்ஆனாக நிச்சயமாக ஆக்கியிருக்கிறோம்.

நிச்சயமாக நாம், இதனை நீங்கள் விளங்கிக் கொள்வதற்காக அரபி மொழியிலான குர் ஆனாக ஆக்கியிருக்கிறோம்.

Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur’an so that you may understand,

Wainnahu fee ommi alkitabi ladayna laAAaliyyun hakeemun

And verily, it (this Qur'ân) is in the Mother of the Book (i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz) with Us, indeed exalted, full of wisdom.

And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom.

நிச்சயமாக இது நம்மிடத்திலுள்ள "லவ்ஹுல் மஹ்ஃபூளில்" பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. இது (வேதங்களில்) மிக மேலானதும் ஞானம் நிறைந்ததுமாகும்.

இன்னும் நிச்சயமாக, இது நம்மிடத்திலுள்ள உம்முல் கிதாபில் (தாய் நூலில்) இருக்கிறது. (இதுவே வேதங்களில்) மிக்க மேலானதும், ஞானம் மிக்கதுமாகும்.

இன்னும் நிச்சயமாக, இது நம்மிடத்திலுள்ள (லவ்ஹுல் மஹ்பூள் என்னும்) தாய் நூலில் (பாதுகாக்கப்பட்டு) இருக்கிறது, (இது வேதங்களில்) மிக்க உயர்வான, ஞானம் நிறைந்ததாகும்.

and it is in the Master Book [Preserved Tablet] with us, highly esteemed, full of wisdom.

Afanadribu AAankumu alththikra safhan an kuntum qawman musrifeena

Shall We then (warn you not and) take away the Reminder (this Qur'ân) from you, because you are a people Musrifûn.

Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people?

நீங்கள் வரம்பு மீறிய மக்களாகிவிட்டீர்கள் என்பதற்காக, உங்களுக்கு நல்லுபதேசம் செய்வதையும் விட்டு முற்றிலும் நாம் உங்களைப் புறக்கணித்து விடுவோமா?

நீங்கள் வரம்பு மீறிய சமூகத்தாராகி விட்டீர்கள் என்பதற்காக, இந்த உபதேசத்தை உங்களைவிட்டு நாம் அகற்றி விடுவோமா?

நீங்கள் வரம்பு மீறிய சமூகத்தவராகி விட்டீர்கள் என்பதற்காக, (வேதத்தின்) நினைவுருத்தலை உங்களை விட்டு முற்றாக நாம் தடுத்துவிடுவோமா?

Should We then turn the Reminder away from you simply because you are a transgressing people?

Wakam arsalna min nabiyyin fee alawwaleena

And how many a Prophet have We sent amongst the men of old.

And how many a prophet We sent among the former peoples,

(உங்களைப் போன்று வரம்பு மீறிச்) சென்றுபோன உங்கள் முன்னோர்களுக்கும் நாம் எத்தனையோ நபிமார்களை அனுப்பி யிருக்கின்றோம்.

அன்றியும், முன்னிருந்தோர்களிடமும் நாம் எத்தனையோ தூதர்களை அனுப்பியிருக்கிறோம்.

(உங்களுக்கு) முன்னிருந்த (சமூகத்த)வர்களிலும், நாம் எத்தனையோ நபிமார்களை அனுப்பி இருக்கின்றோம்.

How many a prophet did We send to the earlier peoples!

Wama yateehim min nabiyyin illa kanoo bihi yastahzioona

And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him.

But there would not come to them a prophet except that they used to ridicule him.

(எனினும்) அவர்களிடம் எந்த நபி வந்தபோதிலும், அவர்கள் அவரைப் பரிகாசம் செய்யாது இருக்கவில்லை.

ஆனால் அவர்களிடம் வந்த நபி ஒவ்வொருவரையும் அவர்கள் பரிகாசம் செய்யாது இருக்கவில்லை.

எந்த நபியும்_அவரை அவர்கள் பரிகசிக்கக்கூடியவர்களாக இருந்தே தவிர_ அவர்களிடம் வருவதில்லை.

No prophet ever came to them except that they ridiculed him.

Faahlakna ashadda minhum batshan wamada mathalu alawwaleena

Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these – and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them).

And We destroyed greater than them in [striking] power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded.

இவர்களை விட மிக பலசாலிகளான அவர்களையெல்லாம் (அவர்களின் பாவத்தின் காரணமாக) நாம் அழித்துவிட்டோம். இதற்கு முன் சென்றவர்களின் (இத்தகைய) உதாரணம் (இதில் பல இடங்களில் கூறப்பட்டு முன்னர்) சென்றுவிட்டது.

எனினும் இவர்களை விட மிக்க பலசாலிகளான அவர்களைப் பிடியாகப் பிடித்து நாம் அழித்து இருக்கிறோம்; (இவ்வாறாக உங்களுக்கு) முன்னிருந்தோரின் உதாரணம் நடந்தேறியிருக்கிறது.

பின்னர் இவர்களைவிட மிக்க பலசாலி(களான அவர்)களை நாம் அழித்துவிட்டோம், (இதற்கு) முன்னிருந்தோரின் உதாரணம் (படிப்பினையாகச்) சென்றே உள்ளது.

So We destroyed them, although they were greater in might than these [Pagans], and the stories of the earlier nations have already been related.

Walain saaltahum man khalaqa alssamawati waalarda layaqoolunna khalaqahunna alAAazeezu alAAaleemu

And indeed if you ask them: "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will surely say: "The All-Mighty, the All-Knower created them."

And if you should ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "They were created by the Exalted in Might, the Knowing."

வானங்களையும் பூமியையும் படைத்தவன் யார் என்று நீங்கள் அவர்களிடம் கேட்கும் பட்சத்தில், (அனைத்தையும்) மிகைத்தவனும், மிக்க ஞானமுடையவன்தான் அவைகளை படைத்தான் என்று நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் (பதில்) கூறுவார்கள். (இதனை அறிந்திருந்தும் அவனுக்கு மாறு செய்கின்றனர்.)

(நபியே!) நீர் அவர்களிடம்: “வானங்களையும், பூமியையும் படைத்தவன் யார்?” என்று கேட்டால், “யாவரையும் மிகைத்தவனும், எல்லாவற்றையும் அறிந்தோனுமாகிய அவனே அவற்றை படைத்தான்” என்று நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் கூறுவார்கள்.

(நபியே!) அவர்களிடம், “வானங்களையும், பூமியையும் படைத்தவன் யார்?” என்று நீர் கேட்டால், (யாவையும்) மிகைத்தவன், நன்கறிகிறவன் (ஆகிய அல்லாஹ்) தான் அவைகளை படைத்தான் என்று நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் (பதில்) கூறுவார்கள்.

If you ask them, “who created the heavens and earth?”, they will surely say, “The All-Mighty, the All-Knowing created them.”

Allathee jaAAala lakumu alarda mahdan wajaAAala lakum feeha subulan laAAallakum tahtadoona

Who has made for you the earth like a bed, and has made for you roads therein, in order that you may find your way.

[The one] who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided

அவன்தான் பூமியை உங்களுக்கு விரிப்பாக ஆக்கி, அதில் நீங்கள் விரும்பிய இடத்திற்குச் செல்லும் பொருட்டு வழிகளையும் அமைத்தான்.

அவனே பூமியை உங்களுக்கு விரிப்பாக ஆக்கி, அதில் நீங்கள் (விரும்பிய இடத்திற்குச்) செல்லும் பொருட்டு வழிகளையும் ஆக்கினான்.

அவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால், உங்களுக்கு பூமியை (உறுதியான) விரிப்பாக ஆக்கினான், நீங்கள் (பிரயாணத்தில்) வழிபெறுவதற்காக அதில் பல பாதைகளையும் உங்களுக்காக அவன் அமைத்தான்.

It is He Who spread out the earth for you, and made therein pathways for you, so that you may find your way.

Waallathee nazzala mina alssamai maan biqadarin faansharna bihi baldatan maytan kathalika tukhrajoona

And Who sends down water (rain) from the sky in due measure, then We revive a dead land therewith, and even so you will be brought forth (from the graves).

And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth -

அவன் தான் மேகத்திலிருந்து மழையைத் தனது திட்டப்படி இறக்கி வைக்கின்றான். (இவ்வாறு செய்கின்ற அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) நாம்தாம், பின்னர் அதனைக் கொண்டு (மழையை பொழியச் செய்து) வறண்டுபோன பூமியை உயிர்ப்பிக்கின்றோம். இவ்வாறே நீங்களும் (இறந்த பின்னர் சமாதிகளிலிருந்து உயிர் கொடுத்து) வெளி யேற்றப்படுவீர்கள்.

அவன்தான் வானத்திலிருந்து மழையை அளவோடு இறக்கி வைக்கிறான். பின்னர், அதனைக் கொண்டு இறந்து கிடந்த பூமியை நாம் தாம் உயிர்ப்பிக்கின்றோம். இவ்வாறே நீங்களும் (மரணத்திற்கு பின் உயிர்ப்படுத்தப் பெற்று) வெளிப்படுத்தப்படுவீர்கள்.

இன்னும் அவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால், அவன் வானத்திலிருந்து தண்ணீரை அளவோடு இறக்கி வைக்கிறான், (அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) நாமே, பின்னர் அதனைக்கொண்டு, இறந்துபோன ஊரை (பூமியை) உயிர்ப்பிக்கின்றோம், இவ்வாறே நீங்களும் (இறந்த பின்னர் உயிர் கொடுத்து) வெளிப்படுத்தப்படுவீர்கள்.

And it is He Who sends down rain from the sky in due measure, by which We revive dead land. This is how you will be brought forth [from the grave].

Waallathee khalaqa alazwaja kullaha wajaAAala lakum mina alfulki waalanAAami ma tarkaboona

And Who has created all the pairs and has appointed for you ships and cattle on which you ride,

And who created the species, all of them, and has made for you of ships and animals those which you mount.

அவன்தான் சகலவற்றையும் (ஆணும் பெண்ணும் கலந்த) ஜோடி ஜோடியாக படைத்து, நீங்கள் ஏறிச் செல்லக்கூடிய கால் நடைகளையும் கப்பல்களையும் அமைத்தான்.

அவன் தான் ஜோடிகள் யாவையும் படைத்தான்; உங்களுக்காக, கப்பல்களையும், நீங்கள் சவாரி செய்யும் கால்நடைகளையும் உண்டாக்கினான் -

இன்னும் அவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால், அவன்தான் (படைப்பினங்களின்) வகைகளை_அவை ஒவ்வொன்றையும் (மனிதனுக்குப் பயனளிக்கும் வகையில்) படைத்தான், அன்றியும் கப்பல்களிலிருந்தும், கால்நடைகளிலிருந்தும் நீங்கள் ஏறிச் செல்பவைகளை உங்களுக்காக உண்டாக்கினான்.

And it is He Who created all types of things, and made for you ships and animals on which you ride,

Litastawoo AAala thuhoorihi thumma tathkuroo niAAmata rabbikum itha istawaytum AAalayhi wataqooloo subhana allathee sakhkhara lana hatha wama kunna lahu muqrineena

In order that you may mount on their backs, and then may remember the Favour of your Lord when you mount thereon, and say: "Glorified is He Who has subjected this to us, and we could have never had it (by our efforts).

That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it.

ஆகவே, அவைகளின் முதுகுகளின் மீது நீங்கள் (ஏறி அமர்ந்து கொள்ளுங்கள்.) திருப்தியாக அதன்மீது நீங்கள் அமர்ந்து கொண்டால், உங்கள் இறைவன் புரிந்த இவ்வருளை நினைத்து, இதற்காக நீங்கள் அவனை நினைவு கூர்ந்து "இதன் மீது (ஏற) சக்தியற்றவர்களாக இருந்த எங்களுக்கு, இதனை வசப்படுத்தித் தந்தவன் மிக்க பரிசுத்தவான்" என்றும்,

அவற்றின் முதுகுகளின் மீது நீங்கள் உறுதியாக அமர்ந்து கொள்வதற்காக; அவற்றின் மேல் நீங்கள் உறுதியாக அமர்ந்ததும், உங்கள் இறைவனுடைய அருளை நினைவு கூர்ந்து “இதன் மீது (செல்ல) சக்தியற்றவர்களாக இருந்த எங்களுக்கு, இதனை வசப்படுத்தித்தந்த அ(வ் விறை)வன் மிக்க பரிசுத்தமானவன்” என்று நீங்கள் கூறுவதற்காகவும்.

(ஏறிச்செல்பவைகளான) அவற்றின் முதுகுகளின் மீது நீங்கள் சரியாக அமர்ந்து கொள்வதற்காக, அவற்றின் மீது நீங்கள் அமர்ந்து விட்டால், பின்னர் உங்கள் இரட்சகனின் அருளை நீங்கள் நினைவு கூர்ந்து,” எங்களுக்கு இதனை வசப்படுத்தித் தந்தவனாகிய அவன் மிக்க பரிசுத்தமானவன், (இதன் மீது பிரயாணிக்க அவன் வசப்படுத்தித் தந்திராவிட்டால்) இதற்கு சக்திபெற்றவர்களாக நாங்கள் இருக்கவில்லை” என்று நீங்கள் கூறுவதற்காகவும்_

so that you may settle yourselves on their backs, then remember the blessings of your Lord when you have settled thereupon and say, “Glory be to Him Who has subjected this for us, for we could not have done it by ourselves.

Wainna ila rabbina lamunqaliboona

And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return!"

And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return."

"நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் எங்கள் இறைவனிடமே திரும்பிச் செல்வோம்" என்றும் கூறுவீர்களாக!

“மேலும், நிச்சயமாக நாம் எங்கள் இறைவனிடத்தில் திரும்பிச் செல்பவர்கள் (என்று பிரார்த்தித்துக் கூறவும் அவ்வாறு செய்தான்).

இன்னும், “நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் எங்கள் இரட்சகன் பக்கமே திரும்பிச் செல்பவர்களாக இருக்கிறோம்” (என்றும் நீங்கள் பிரார்த்தித்துக் கூறுவதற்காகவும் அவற்றை உங்களுக்குப் பிரயாணம் செய்ய வசதியாக ஆக்கியுள்ளான்).

It is to our Lord that we will surely return.”

WajaAAaloo lahu min AAibadihi juzan inna alinsana lakafoorun mubeenun

Yet, they assign to some of His slaves a share with Him (by pretending that He has children, and considering them as equals or co-partners in worship with Him). Verily, man is indeed a manifest ingrate!

But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful.

(இணைவைத்து வணங்கும்) அவர்கள் இறைவனுடைய அடியார்க(ளில் உள்ள மலக்குக)ளை அவனுடைய (பெண்) சந்ததி என்று கூறுகின்றார்கள். நிச்சயமாக (இவ்வாறு கூறுகின்ற) மனிதன் பகிரங்கமாகவே பெரும் நன்றி கெட்டவனாவான்.

இன்னும், அவர்கள் அவனுடைய அடியார்களில் ஒரு பகுதியினரை அவனுக்கு(ப் பெண் சந்ததியை) ஆக்குகிறார்கள்; நிச்சயமாக மனிதன் பகிரங்கமான பெரும் நிராகரிப்பவனாக இருக்கின்றான்.  

அவர்களோ, அவனுடைய அடியார்களில் ஒரு பகுதியினரை (மலக்குகளை) அவனுக்கு(ப் பெண் சந்ததியினராக) ஆக்குகின்றார்கள், நிச்சயமாக மனிதன் பகிரங்கமாக நிராகரிப்பவன்.

Yet they ascribe to Him some of His slaves as offspring. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful.

Ami ittakhatha mimma yakhluqu banatin waasfakum bialbaneena

Or has He taken daughters out of what He has created, and He has selected for you sons?

Or has He taken, out of what He has created, daughters and chosen you for [having] sons?

(இறைவன்) தான் படைத்த (மலக்குகளாகிய) இவர்களை(த் தனக்குப்) பெண் மக்களாக எடுத்துக்கொண்டு (தன்னைவிட உங்களை கௌரவப்படுத்துவதற்காக) உங்களுக்கு ஆண் மக்களை அளித்தானோ?

அல்லது, தான் படைத்ததிலிருந்து அவன் தனக்கென பெண்மக்களை எடுத்துக் கொண்டு, உங்களுக்கு ஆண் மக்களை தேர்ந்தெடுத்து விட்டானா?

அல்லது (அல்லாஹ்) தான் படைத்ததிலிருந்து (தனக்கென) அவன் பெண் மக்களை எடுத்துக் கொண்டு, உங்களுக்கு ஆண்மக்களை தேர்ந்தெடுத்துக் கொண்டானா?

Has He taken for Himself daughters from what He has created, and favored you with sons?

Waitha bushshira ahaduhum bima daraba lilrrahmani mathalan thalla wajhuhu muswaddan wahuwa katheemun

And if one of them is informed of the news of (the birth of a girl) that which he sets forth as a parable to the Most Gracious (Allâh), his face becomes dark, and he is filled with grief!

And when one of them is given good tidings of that which he attributes to the Most Merciful in comparison, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief.

(அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) ரஹ்மானுக்கு (அவனுடைய சந்ததி என்று) அவர்கள் கற்பனை செய்யும் (பெண்) மக்கள் அவர்களில் எவருக்கும் (பிறந்ததாக) நற்செய்தி கூறப்பட்டால், (பெண் மக்களை இழிவாகக் கருதும்) அவருக்கு ஏற்படும் கோபத்தால் அவருடைய முகம் கருத்து விடுகின்றது.

அர் ரஹ்மானுக்கு அவர்கள் எதனை ஒப்பாக்கினார்களோ அதை (அதாவது பெண் குழந்தையை) கொண்டு அவர்களில் ஒருவனுக்கு நற்செய்தி கூறப்படும்பொழுது அவனுடைய முகம் கருத்துப் போய்விடுகின்றது. மேலும் அவன் கோபம் நிரம்பியவனாகவும் ஆகிவிடுகின்றான்.

அர்ரஹ்மானுக்கு அவர்கள் எதை உதாரணமாகக் கூறினார்களோ அதை(_பெண் மகவை)க் கொண்டு (அது பிறந்து விட்டதாக) அவர்களில் ஒருவனுக்கு நன்மாராயம் கூறப்பட்டால், (பெண் மக்களை விரும்பாத) அவன் (கவலையினால்) கடுங்கோபம் கொண்டவனாக இருக்கும் நிலையில் அவன் முகம் கறுத்துவிடுகிறது.

When one of them is given tidings of [a baby girl] the like of which he ascribes to the Most Compassionate, his face darkens as he suppresses his rage.

Awaman yunashshao fee alhilyati wahuwa fee alkhisami ghayru mubeenin

(Like they then for Allâh) a creature who is brought up in adornments (wearing silk and gold ornaments, i.e. women), and who in dispute cannot make herself clear?

So is one brought up in ornaments while being during conflict unevident [attributed to Allah]?

என்னே! தன் விவகாரத்தைத் தெளிவாக எடுத்துக் கூற சக்தியற்று ஆபரணத்திலும், (சிங்காரிப்பிலும்) வளர்ந்து வரும் (அவர்கள் இழிவாகக் கருதும் பெண்களையா அவனுக்குச் சந்ததி என்று கூறுகின்றனர்?)

ஆபரணங்களைக் கொண்டு அலங்கரிக்கப்பட்டும் விவகாரங்களைத் தெளிவாக எடுத்துக் கூறவும் இயலாத ஒன்றினையா (இணையாக்குகின்றனர்).

ஆபரணத்திலும் (சிங்காரிப்பிலும்) வளர்க்கப்பட்டு தன் (சொந்த) விவகாரத்தில் (கூட தனது நிலையை) தெளிவாக எடுத்துக்கூற சக்தியற்ற ஒன்றையா? (பெண்களையா? அவனுக்குச் சந்ததிகள் என்று ஆக்குகிறார்கள்).

Or [do they ascribe to Allah] one who is brought up in ornaments and is not able to present a clear argument in disputation?

WajaAAaloo almalaikata allatheena hum AAibadu alrrahmani inathan ashahidoo khalqahum satuktabu shahadatuhum wayusaloona

And they make the angels who themselves are slaves of the Most Gracious (Allâh) females. Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be recorded, and they will be questioned!

And they have made the angels, who are servants of the Most Merciful, females. Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be recorded, and they will be questioned.

தவிர, ரஹ்மானின் அடியார்களாகிய மலக்குகளைப் பெண்கள் என்று கூறுகின்றனரே! (நாம்) அவர்களை படைக்கும் போது இவர்கள் (நம்மோடிருந்து) பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தனரா? இவர்கள் (பொய்யாகக் கற்பனை செய்து) கூறுகின்ற இவைகளெல்லாம் (நம்முடைய பதிவுப் புத்தகத்தில்) எழுதப்பட்டு (அதனைப் பற்றிக்) கேள்வி கேட்கப்படுவார்கள்.

அன்றியும், அர் ரஹ்மானின் அடியார்களாகிய மலக்குகளை அவர்கள் பெண்களாக ஆக்குகிறார்கள்; அவர்கள், படைக்கப்பட்ட போது இவர்கள் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார்களா? அவர்களுடைய சாட்சியம் பதிவு செய்து வைக்கப்பட்டு, அவர்கள் கேள்வி கேட்கப்படுவார்கள்.

மேலும், மலக்குகளை_எவர்கள் அர்ரஹ்மானின் அடியார்களாக இருக்கிறார்களோ அத்தகையோரை_அவர்கள் பெண்களாக ஆக்கிவிட்டனர், (நாம்) அவர்களைப் படைக்கும் பொழுது இவர்கள் (உடனிருந்து) பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தனரா? இவர்களில் சாட்சி (நம்மிடத்தில்) எழுதப்படும், (அதனை பற்றி விசாரித்து மறுமையில்) கேள்வியும் கேட்கப் படுவார்கள்.

They regard the angels, who are slaves of the Most Compassionate, as female. Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be written, and they will be questioned!

Waqaloo law shaa alrrahmanu ma AAabadnahum ma lahum bithalika min AAilmin in hum illa yakhrusoona

And they said: "If it had been the Will of the Most Gracious (Allâh), we should not have worshipped them (false deities)." They have no knowledge whatsoever of that. They do nothing but lie!

And they said, "If the Most Merciful had willed, we would not have worshipped them." They have of that no knowledge. They are not but falsifying.

தவிர, ரஹ்மான் நாடியிருந்தால் அவனையன்றி நாம் (மலக்குகளை) வணங்கியே இருக்கமாட்டோம் என்றும் அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர். அவர்கள் இவ்வாறு வீண் தர்க்கவாதம் செய்பவர்களேயன்றி, (செயலைப் பற்றி) அவர்களுக்கு யாதொரு அறிவும் இல்லை.

மேலும், “அர் ரஹ்மான் நாடியிருந்தால், அவர்களை நாங்கள் வணங்கியிருக்க மாட்டோம்” என்றும் அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர்; அவர்களுக்கு இதைப்பற்றி யாதோர் அறிவுமில்லை; அவர்கள் பொய்யே கூறுகிறார்கள்.

இன்னும் “அர்ரஹ்மான் நாடியிருந்தால், நாம் அவர்களை வணங்கியிருக்க மாட்டோம்” என்று அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர், அவர்களுக்கு இதைப் பற்றி எவ்வித அறிவுமில்லை, அவர்கள் (பொய்க்) கற்பனை செய்பவர்களே தவிர (வேறு) இல்லை.

They say, “If the Most Compassionate had willed, we would not have worshiped them.” They have no knowledge of that; they do nothing but conjecture.

Am ataynahum kitaban min qablihi fahum bihi mustamsikoona

Or have We given them any Book before this (the Qur'ân) to which they are holding fast?

Or have We given them a book before the Qur'an to which they are adhering?

அல்லது (அவர்கள் சொல்வது போன்று) யாதொரு வேதத்தை இதற்கு முன்னர் நாம் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்திருந்து, அதனை அவர்கள் இதற்கு ஆதாரமாக வைத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றனரா?

அல்லது, அவர்கள் ஆதாரமாகக் கொள்வதற்காக இதற்கு முன்னால் நாம் அவர்களுக்கு ஏதாவதொரு வேதத்தை கொடுத்திருக்கிறோமா?

அல்லது இதற்கு முன்னர் ஏதேனும் ஒரு வேதத்தை நாம் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்து, அதனை அவர்கள் (இதற்கு ஆதராமாக) பற்றிப் பிடித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்களா?

Or have We given them a Book before this [Qur’an], to which they are holding fast?

Bal qaloo inna wajadna abaana AAala ommatin wainna AAala atharihim muhtadoona

Nay! They say: "We found our fathers following a certain way and religion, and we guide ourselves by their footsteps."

Rather, they say, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are in their footsteps [rightly] guided."

அன்று! இவர்கள் (தங்களுக்கு ஆதாரமாகக்) கூறுவ தெல்லாம் நாங்கள் "எங்கள் மூதாதைகளை ஒரு வழியில் கண்டோம். அவர்களது அடிச்சுவடுகளைப் பின்பற்றியே நாங்கள் நடக்கின்றோம்" என்பதுதான்.

அப்படியல்ல! அவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்: “நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் எங்களுடைய மூதாதையர்களை ஒரு மார்க்கத்தில் கண்டோம்; நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் அவர்களுடைய அடிச்சுவடுகளையே பின்பற்றுகிறோம்.”

மாறாக, இவர்கள் “நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் எங்கள் மூதாதையரை ஒரு வழியில் (மார்க்கத்தில் இருக்கக்) கண்டோம், இன்னும் நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் அவர்களின் அடிச் சுவடுகளின் மீது நேர் வழி பெறக்கூடியவர்களாக இருக்கிறோம்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

They rather say, “We found our forefathers on a path, and we are seeking guidance in their footsteps.”

Wakathalika ma arsalna min qablika fee qaryatin min natheerin illa qala mutrafooha inna wajadna abaana AAala ommatin wainna AAala atharihim muqtadoona

And similarly, We sent not a warner before you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) to any town (people) but the luxurious ones among them said: "We found our fathers following a certain way and religion, and we will indeed follow their footsteps."

And similarly, We did not send before you any warner into a city except that its affluent said, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are, in their footsteps, following."

இவ்வாறே உங்களுக்கு முன்னரும் நாம் நம்முடைய தூதரை எவ்வூராரிடம் அனுப்பி வைத்தோமோ, அங்குள்ள தலைவர்களும் "நாங்கள் எங்கள் மூதாதைகளை ஒரு வழியில் கண்டோம்; அவர்களின் அடிச்சுவடுகளைப் பின்பற்றியே செல்வோம்" என்று கூறாமல் இருக்கவில்லை.

இவ்வாறே உமக்கு முன்னரும் நாம் (நம்முடைய) தூதரை எந்த ஊருக்கு அனுப்பினாலும், அவர்களில் செல்வந்தர்கள்: “நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் எங்கள் மூதாதையரை ஒரு மார்க்கத்தில் கண்டோம்; நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் அவர்களின் அடிச்சுவடுகளையே பின்பற்றுகின்றோம்” என்று கூறாதிருக்கவில்லை.

இவ்வாறே எந்த ஊருக்கும், அதில் வசதியுடன் வாழ்ந்தவர்கள், “நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் எங்கள் மூதாதையரை ஒரு வழியில் (இருக்கக்) கண்டோம், நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் அவர்களின் அடிச்சுவடுகளின் மீதே பின்பற்றிச் செல்பவர்கள்” என்று கூறியே தவிர நாம் உமக்கு முன்னர் (நம்முடைய) எச்சரிக்கையாளரை அனுப்பவில்லை.

Likewise, We never sent any warner to a town before you except that its affluent ones said, “We found our forefathers on a path, and we are following their footsteps.”

Qala awalaw jitukum biahda mimma wajadtum AAalayhi abaakum qaloo inna bima orsiltum bihi kafiroona

(The warner) said: "Even if I bring you better guidance than that which you found your fathers following?" They said: "Verily, we disbelieve in that with which you have been sent."

[Each warner] said, "Even if I brought you better guidance than that [religion] upon which you found your fathers?" They said, "Indeed we, in that with which you were sent, are disbelievers."

(அதற்கு, அத்தூதர்கள் அவர்களை நோக்கி) "உங்கள் மூதாதைகள் இருந்ததை விட நான் நேரான வழியைக் கொண்டு வந்திருந்த போதிலுமா? (உங்கள் மூதாதைகளை நீங்கள் பின்பற்றுவீர்கள்)" என்று கேட்டார்கள். அதற்கவர்கள் "(ஆம்! அவர்களையே நாங்கள் பின்பற்றுவதுடன்) நீங்கள் கொண்டு வந்ததையும் நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் நிராகரிக்கின்றோம்" என்றும் கூறினார்கள்.

(அப்பொழுது அத்தூதர்,) “உங்கள் மூதாதையரை எதன்மீது நீங்கள் கண்டீர்களோ, அதை விட மேலான நேர்வழியை நான் உங்களுக்குக் கொண்டு வந்திருந்த போதிலுமா?” என்று கேட்டார். அதற்கு அவர்கள்: “நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள், எதைக்கொண்டு நீங்கள் அனுப்பப்பட்டிருக்கிறீர்களோ, அதை நிராகரிக்கிறோம்” என்று சொல்கிறார்கள்.

“உங்கள் மூதாதையரை எதன் மீதிருக்க நீங்கள் கண்டீர்களோ அதைவிட மிக்க நேர் வழியை நான் உங்களுக்குக் கொண்டுவந்தாலுமா?” என்று (எச்சரிக்கையாளர்கள்) கேட்டார்கள், அ(தற்க)வர்கள், “நீங்கள் எதைக் கொண்டு அனுப்பப்பட்டீர்களோ அதை நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் நிராகரிக்கக்கூடியவர்களே” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

[The warner] said, “Even if I bring you a better guidance than what you have found your forefathers upon?” They said, “We totally reject what you [prophets] have been sent with.”

Faintaqamna minhum faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almukaththibeena

So We took revenge on them, then see what was the end of those who denied (Islâmic Monotheism).

So we took retribution from them; then see how was the end of the deniers.

ஆதலால், நாம் அவர்களை பழி வாங்கினோம். (நபியே! நம்முடைய தூதர்களைப்) பொய்யாக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தவர்களின் முடிவு எவ்வாறாயிற்று என்பதை நீங்கள் கவனித்துப் பாருங்கள்.

ஆகவே, நாம் அவர்களிடம் பழி தீர்த்தோம்; எனவே, இவ்வாறு பொய்ப்பித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தவர்களின் முடிவு என்ன ஆயிற்று என்பதை நீர் கவனிப்பீராக!

ஆதலால், நாம் அவர்களைத் தண்டித்தோம், ஆகவே, (நபியே! நம்மால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட தூதர்களைப்) பொய்யாக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தவர்களின் முடிவு எப்படி இருந்தது என்பதை நீர் (கவனித்துப்) பார்ப்பீராக!

So We took revenge from them; see what was the end of the deniers!

Waith qala ibraheemu liabeehi waqawmihi innanee baraon mimma taAAbudoona

And (remember) when Ibrâhîm (Abraham) said to his father and his people: "Verily, I am innocent of what you worship,

And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham said to his father and his people, "Indeed, I am disassociated from that which you worship

இப்ராஹீம் தன்னுடைய தந்தையையும், மக்களையும் நோக்கிக் கூறியதை நினைத்துப் பாருங்கள். "நிச்சயமாக நான் நீங்கள் வணங்கும் தெய்வங்களை விட்டும் விலகிக்கொண்டேன்.

அன்றியும், இப்றாஹீம் தம் தந்தையையும், தம் சமூகத்தவர்களையும் நோக்கி: “நிச்சயமாக நான், நீங்கள் வழிபடுபவற்றை விட்டும் விலகிக் கொண்டேன்” என்று கூறியதையும்;

மேலும், (நபியே!) இப்றாஹீம் தம் தந்தை மற்றும் தம் சமூகத்தாரிடம் நிச்சயமாக நான் நீங்கள் வணங்குபவைகளை விட்டும் நீங்கிக்கொண்டேன் என்று கூறியதை(யும் நினைவு கூர்வீராக!)

And [remember] when Abraham said to his father and his people, “I disown all that you worship,

Illa allathee fataranee fainnahu sayahdeeni

"Except Him (i.e. I worship none but Allâh Alone) Who did create me; and verily, He will guide me."

Except for He who created me; and indeed, He will guide me."

எவன் என்னை படைத்தானோ (அவனையே நான் வணங்குவேன்.) நிச்சயமாக அவனே எனக்கு நேரான வழியை அறிவிப்பான்" (என்றும் கூறினார்).

“என்னைப் படைத்தானே அவனைத் தவிர (வேறெவரையும் வணங்க மாட்டேன்). அவனே எனக்கு நேர்வழி காண்பிப்பான்” (என்றும் கூறியதை நினைவு கூர்வீராக)!

எவன் என்னைப் படைத்தானோ அத்தகையவனைத் தவிர, (வேறு யாரையும் வணங்கமாட்டேன்) ஆகவே, நிச்சயமாக அவனே எனக்கு நேர் வழி காட்டுவான்.

except the One Who created me; He will surely guide me.”

WajaAAalaha kalimatan baqiyatan fee AAaqibihi laAAallahum yarjiAAoona

And he made it [i.e. Lâ ilâha illallâh (none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh Alone – True Monotheism)] a Word lasting among his offspring, that they may turn back (i.e. to repent to Allâh or receive admonition).

And he made it a word remaining among his descendants that they might return [to it].

ஆகவே, (அவருடைய சந்ததிகளாகிய இந்த அரபிகளும் நம்மிடமே) வரும் பொருட்டு, அவர் தன்னுடைய சந்ததிகளில் இக் கொள்கையை நிலையான வாக்குறுதியாக அமைத்தார்.

இன்னும், தம் சந்ததியினர் (அல்லாஹ்வின் பக்கம்) திரும்பி வரும் பொருட்டு (இப்றாஹீம் தவ்ஹீதை) அவர்களிடம் ஒரு நிலையான வாக்காக ஏற்படுத்தினார்.

இன்னும், (“லாயிலாஹ இல்லல்லாஹு“ எனும் ஏகத்துவக் கூற்றான) அதனை அவர் தன்னுடைய சந்ததியில் நிலைத்திருக்கும் வாக்காக ஆக்கிவிட்டார், அக்கூற்றின் பால் அவர்கள் திரும்புவதற்காகவே (அவ்வாறு செய்தோம்).

And he made it a lasting word among his descendants, so that they may return [to Allah].

Bal mattaAAtu haolai waabaahum hatta jaahumu alhaqqu warasoolun mubeenun

Nay, but I gave (the good things of this life) to these (polytheists) and their fathers to enjoy, till there came to them the truth (the Qur'ân), and a Messenger (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) making things clear.

However, I gave enjoyment to these [people of Makkah] and their fathers until there came to them the truth and a clear Messenger.

(ஆயினும், அவருடைய சந்ததிகளாகிய இந்த அரபிகளோ, தங்கள் பெற்றோற்களாகிய இப்ராஹீமின் நல்லுபதேசத்தை மறந்து, விக்கிரக ஆராதனையில் ஈடுபட்டு விட்டனர். அவ்வாறிருந்தும்) இவர்களையும் இவர்களுடைய மூதாதைகளையும் அவர்களிடம் மெய்யான (இந்த) வேதமும், தெளிவான (நம்முடைய இந்தத்) தூதரும் வரும் வரையில், அவர்களை(த் தண்டிக்காது இவ்வுலகில்) சுகமனுபவிக்கும்படியே நான் விட்டு வைத்தேன்.

எனினும், இவர்களிடம் உண்மையும் தெளிவான தூதரும் வரும் வரையில், இவர்களையும், இவர்களுடைய மூதாதையரையும் சுகமனுபவிக்க விட்டு வைத்தேன்.

ஆயினும், அவர்களிடம் உண்மையும், தெளிவான தூதரும் வரும் வரையில், அவர்களையும் அவர்களுடைய மூதாதையரையும் சுகமனுபவிக்கச் செய்தேன்.

However, I let these [Makkans] and their forefathers enjoy their lives, until there came to them the truth and a clear messenger.

Walamma jaahumu alhaqqu qaloo hatha sihrun wainna bihi kafiroona

And when the truth (this Qur'ân) came to them, they (the disbelievers in this Qur'ân) said: "This is magic, and we disbelieve therein."

But when the truth came to them, they said, "This is magic, and indeed we are, concerning it, disbelievers."

அவர்களிடம் இந்தச் சத்திய வேதம் வரவே, அவர்கள் இதனை "(இது) சூனியம்தான். நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் இதனை நிராகரிக்கின்றோம்" என்று கூறுகின்றனர்.

ஆனால், உண்மை (வேதம்) அவர்களிடம் வந்த போது “இது சூனியமே தான்; நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் இதை நிராகரிக்கின்றோம்” என்று அவர்கள் கூறினர்.

இன்னும் அவர்களிடம் உண்மை வந்தபோது, “இது சூனியமே, நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் இதனை நிராகரிக்கக்கூடியவர்களே” என்று அவர்கள் கூறிவிட்டனர்.

But when the truth came to them, they said, “This is magic, and we definitely reject it.”

Waqaloo lawla nuzzila hatha alquranu AAala rajulin mina alqaryatayni AAatheemun

And they say: "Why is not this Qur'ân sent down to some great man of the two towns (Makkah and Tâ'if)?"

And they said, "Why was this Qur'an not sent down upon a great man from [one of] the two cities?"

அன்றி (தாயிஃப், மக்கா ஆகிய) இவ்விரண்டு ஊர்களிலுள்ள யாதொரு பெரிய மனிதன் மீது இந்தக் குர்ஆன் இறக்கி வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டாமா? (அவ்வாறாயின் நாங்கள் அதனை நம்பிக்கை கொண்டிருப்போம்) என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர்.

மேலும் அவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்: இந்த குர்ஆன் இவ்விரண்டு ஊர்களிலுள்ள பெரிய மனிதர் மீது இறக்கப்பட்டிருக்கக் கூடாதா?”

(“தாயிஃப், மக்கா ஆகிய) இவ்விரண்டு ஊர்களிலுள்ள (யாதொரு) பெரிய மனிதரின் மீது இந்தக் குர் ஆன் இறக்கி வைக்கப்படிருக்க வேண்டாமா?” என்றும் அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர்.

And they said, “Why was this Qur’an not sent down to a great man from one of the two towns?”

Ahum yaqsimoona rahmata rabbika nahnu qasamna baynahum maAAeeshatahum fee alhayati alddunya warafaAAna baAAdahum fawqa baAAdin darajatin liyattakhitha baAAduhum baAAdan sukhriyyan warahmatu rabbika khayrun mimma yajmaAAoona

Is it they who would portion out the Mercy of your Lord? It is We Who portion out between them their livelihood in this world, and We raised some of them above others in ranks, so that some may employ others in their work. But the mercy (Paradise) of your Lord (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) is better than the (wealth of this world) which they amass.

Do they distribute the mercy of your Lord? It is We who have apportioned among them their livelihood in the life of this world and have raised some of them above others in degrees [of rank] that they may make use of one another for service. But the mercy of your Lord is better than whatever they accumulate.

(நபியே!) உங்களின் இறைவனின் அருளைப் பங்கிடுபவர்கள் இவர்கள் தாமா? இவ்வுலகத்தில் அவர்களுடைய வாழ்க்கையின் தரத்தை அவர்களுக்கிடையில் நாமே பங்கிட்டு, அவர்களில் சிலருடைய பதவியை சிலரைவிட நாம்தான் உயர்த்தினோம். அவர்களில் சிலர், சிலரை (வேலைக்காரர்களாக) ஐக்கியப்படுத்திக் கொள்வதற்காக, (நபித்துவம் என்னும்) உங்களது இறைவனின் அருளோ, அவர்கள் சேகரித்து வைத்திருக்கும் பொருளைவிட மிக மேலானதாகும். (அதனை அவன் விரும்பிய தன் அடியாருக்குத்தான் அளிப்பான்.)

உமது இறைவனின் ரஹ்மத்தை (நல்லருளை) இவர்களா பங்கிடுகிறார்கள்? இவர்களுடைய உலகத் தேவைகளை இவர்களிடையே நாமே பங்கிட்டு இருக்கிறோம்.” இவர்களில் சிலர், சிலரை ஊழியத்திற்கு வைத்துக் கொள்ளும் பொருட்டு, இவர்களில் சிலரை, சிலரைவிட தரங்களில் நாம் உயர்த்தி இருக்கிறோம்; உம்முடைய இறைவனின் ரஹ்மத்து அவர்கள் சேகரித்து வைத்துக் கொண்டிருப்பதை விட மேலானதாகும்.

(நபியே!) உமதிரட்சகனின் அருளை அவர்களா பங்கிடுகிறார்கள்? இவ்வுலக வாழ்வில் அவர்களுடைய வாழ்க்கை(த் தேவை)யை அவர்களுக்கிடையில் நாமே பங்கிட்டிருக்கிறோம், அவர்களில் சிலர் சிலரை பணியாளர்களாக வைத்துக்கொள்வதற்காக, அவர்களில் சிலரை (மற்ற) சிலரைவிட தரங்களில் நாம் உயர்த்தியுமிருக்கிறோம், உமதிரட்சகனின் அருளோ, அவர்கள் சேகரித்து வைத்திருப்பதைவிட மிக்க மேலானதாகும்.

Is it they who distribute the mercy of your Lord? It is We Who have distributed their livelihood among them in the life of this world, and have raised some of them above others in ranks, so that they may serve one another. But the mercy of your Lord is better than what they accumulate.

Walawla an yakoona alnnasu ommatan wahidatan lajaAAalna liman yakfuru bialrrahmani libuyootihim suqufan min fiddatin wamaAAarija AAalayha yathharoona

And were it not that mankind would have become one community (all disbelievers desiring worldly life only), We would have provided for those who disbelieve in the Most Gracious (Allâh), silver roofs for their houses, and elevators whereby they ascend,

And if it were not that the people would become one community [of disbelievers], We would have made for those who disbelieve in the Most Merciful - for their houses - ceilings and stairways of silver upon which to mount

(இந்நிராகரிப்பவர்களின் செல்வ செழிப்பைக் கண்டு, ஆசை கொண்ட மற்ற) மனிதர்கள் அனைவருமே (அவர்களைப் போல் நிராகரிக்கும்) ஒரே வகுப்பினராக ஆகிவிடுவார்கள் என்று இல்லாதிருப்பின் (அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) ரஹ்மானை நிராகரிப்ப வர்களின் வீட்டு முகடுகளையும் அதன்மீது அவர்கள் ஏறிச் செல்லும் படிக்கட்டுகளையும் கூட நாம் வெள்ளியினால் ஆக்கி விடுவோம்.

நிராகரிப்போருக்கு நாம் கொடுக்கும் செல்வத்தைக் கண்டு, மனிதர்கள் (நிராகரிக்கும்) சமுதாயமாக ஆகிவிடுவார்கள் என்பது இல்லாவிட்டால், அவர்களின் வீட்டு முகடுகளையும், (அவற்றுக்கு அவர்கள்) ஏறிச் செல்லும் படிகளையும் நாம் வெள்ளியினால் ஆக்கியிருப்போம்.

(நிராகரிப்போருக்கு நாம் வழங்கியதை கண்டு மற்ற) மனிதர்கள் (யாவரும் நிராகரிக்கும்) ஒரே சமுதாயமாக ஆகிவிடுவார்கள் என்பது இல்லையென்றால், (அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) அர்ரஹ்மானை நிராகரிப்போருக்கு_ அவர்களின் வீடுகளுக்குரிய முகடுகளையும், எவற்றின் மீது அவர்கள் ஏரிச்செல்வோர்களோ அந்தப்படிகளையும் நாம் வெள்ளியினால் ஆக்கியிருப்போம்.

Were it not that all people might become a single community [of disbelievers], We would have given those who disbelieve in the Most Compassionate houses of sliver roofs and staircases to ascend,

Walibuyootihim abwaban wasururan AAalayha yattakioona

And for their houses, doors (of silver), and thrones (of silver) on which they could recline,

And for their houses - doors and couches [of silver] upon which to recline

அவர்களுடைய வீடுகளின் வாயில்களையும், அவர்கள் சாய்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கும் கட்டில்களையும் கூட (வெள்ளியினால்) ஆக்கி இருப்போம்.

அவர்களுடைய வீடுகளின் வாயல்களையும், அவர்கள் சாய்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கும் கட்டில்களையும் (அவ்வாறே ஆக்கியிருப்போம்).

அவர்களுடைய வீடுகளுக்குரிய வாயில்களையும், எதன் மீது அவர்கள் சாய்ந்து கொண்டிருப்பார்களோ அத்தகைய கட்டில்களையும் (வெள்ளியினால் ஆக்கிருப்போம்).

and their houses having [silver] doors and couches on which they recline,

Wazukhrufan wain kullu thalika lamma mataAAu alhayati alddunya waalakhiratu AAinda rabbika lilmuttaqeena

And adornments of gold. Yet all this (i.e. the roofs, doors, stairs, elevators, thrones of their houses) would have been nothing but an enjoyment of this world. And the Hereafter with your Lord is (only) for the Muttaqûn.

And gold ornament. But all that is not but the enjoyment of worldly life. And the Hereafter with your Lord is for the righteous.

(வெள்ளி என்ன! இவைகளைத்) தங்கத்தாலேயே (அலங்கரித்தும் விடுவோம்.) ஏனென்றால், இவை அனைத்துமே இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையிலுள்ள (அழிந்துவிடக் கூடிய) அற்ப இன்பங்களே அன்றி வேறில்லை. உங்களது இறைவனிடம் இருக்கும் மறுமை(யின் நிலையான இன்ப வாழ்க்கையோ, மிக மேலானதும் நிலையானதுமாகும். அது) இறைவனுக்குப் பயந்து நடப்பவர்களுக்குத்தான் சொந்தமானது.

தங்கத்தாலும் (அவற்றை ஆக்கிக் கொடுத்திருப்போம்); ஆனால், இவையெல்லாம் இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையிலுள்ள (நிலையில்லா அற்ப) சுகங்களேயன்றி வேறில்லை. ஆனால், மறுமை(யின் நித்திய வாழ்க்கை) உம் இறைவனிடம் பயபக்தியுள்ளவர்களுக்குத் தாம்.  

இன்னும், தங்கமாகவும் (ஆக்கியிருப்போம், ஆனால்,) இவை ஒவ்வொன்றும், இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையிலுள்ள சுகங்களே தவிர வேறில்லை, உமதிரட்சகனிடத்தில் மறுமையோ பயந்து நடப்பவர்களுக்கு உரியதாகும்.

and [golden] ornaments. But all of these are mere enjoyments of the life of this world, and the Hereafter with your Lord is [only] for those who fear Allah.

Waman yaAAshu AAan thikri alrrahmani nuqayyid lahu shaytanan fahuwa lahu qareenun

And whosoever turns away blindly from the remembrance of the Most Gracious (Allâh) (i.e. this Qur'ân and worship of Allâh), We appoint for him Shaitân (Satan – devil) to be a Qarîn (a companion) to him.

And whoever is blinded from remembrance of the Most Merciful - We appoint for him a devil, and he is to him a companion.

எவன் ரஹ்மானுடைய நல்லுபதேசத்திலிருந்து கண்ணை மூடிக்கொள்கிறானோ, அவனுக்கு நாம் ஒரு ஷைத்தானை (நண்பனாகச்) சாட்டிவிடுவோம். அவன் அவனுக்கு இணைபிரியாத தோழனாகி விடுகிறான்.

எவனொருவன் அர் ரஹ்மானின் நல்லுபதேசத்தை விட்டும் கண்ணை மூடிக் கொள்வானோ, அவனுக்கு நாம் ஒரு ஷைத்தானை ஏற்படுத்தி விடுகிறோம்; அவன் இவனது நெருங்கிய நண்பனாகி விடுகிறான்.

எவர் அர்ரஹ்மானுடைய நல்லுபதேசத்தைப் புறக்கணித்து விடுகின்றாரோ, அவருக்கு நாம், ஒரு ஷைத்தானை (நண்பனாக)ச் சாட்டிவிடுவோம், அவன் அவருக்கு இணை பிரியாத தோழனாகி விடுகிறான்.

Whoever turns away from the Reminder of the Most Compassionate [the Qur’an], We assign to him a devil to be his close associate,

Wainnahum layasuddoonahum AAani alssabeeli wayahsaboona annahum muhtadoona

And verily, they (Satans/devils) hinder them from the path (of Allâh), but they think that they are guided aright!

And indeed, the devils avert them from the way [of guidance] while they think that they are [rightly] guided

நிச்சயமாக (அந்த ஷைத்தான்கள்தாம்) அவர்களை நேரான பாதையில் இருந்து தடுத்து விடுகின்றனர். எனினும், அவர்களோ தாங்கள் நேரான பாதையில் இருப்பதாகவே எண்ணிக் கொள்வார்கள்.

இன்னும், அந்த ஷைத்தான்கள் அவர்களை நேரான பாதையிலிருந்து தடுத்து விடுகின்றன. ஆனாலும், தாங்கள் நேரான பாதையில் செலுத்தப்படுவதாகவே அவர்கள் எண்ணிக் கொள்கிறார்கள்.

நிச்சயமாக, (ஷைத்தான்களாகிய) அவர்கள், அவர்களை (அல்லாஹ்வின்) நேரான பாதையிலிருந்து தடுத்தும்விடுகின்றனர், மேலும், அவர்களோ தாங்கள் நேரான பாதையில் இருப்பவர்கள் என எண்ணிக் கொள்வார்கள்.

who will surely avert them from the [right] way, while they think that they are rightly guided.

Hatta itha jaana qala ya layta baynee wabaynaka buAAda almashriqayni fabisa alqareenu

Till, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says [to his Qarîn (Satan/devil companion)] "Would that between me and you were the distance of the two easts (or the east and west)" – a worst (type of) companion (indeed)!

Until, when he comes to Us [at Judgement], he says [to his companion], "Oh, I wish there was between me and you the distance between the east and west - how wretched a companion."

நம்மிடம் (வரும் வரையில்தான் அவ்வாறு எண்ணிக் கொண்டிருப்பார்கள்.) அவர்கள் (நம்மிடம்) வந்த பின்னரோ (அவர்களில் ஒருவர் மற்றவரை நோக்கி) "எனக்கும் உமக்கு மிடையில் கீழ் திசைக்கும், மேல் திசைக்கும் உள்ள தொலைதூரமாக இருந்திருக்க வேண்டாமா?" என்றும், "(எங்களை வழிகெடுத்த எங்களுடைய) இந்தத் தோழன் மிகப் பொல்லாதவன்" என்றும் கூறுவார்கள்.

எதுவரையென்றால், (இறுதியாக அத்தகையவன்) நம்மிடம் வரும்போது (ஷைத்தானிடம்):- “ஆ! எனக்கிடையிலும், உனக்கிடையிலும் கிழக்குத் திசைக்கும், மேற்குத் திசைக்கும் இடையேயுள்ள தூரம் இருந்திருக்க வேண்டுமே!” (எங்களை வழிகெடுத்த) இந்நண்பன் மிகவும் கெட்டவன்” என்று கூறுவான்.

முடிவாக, (ஷைத்தானை நண்பனாக இணைக்கப்பட்ட) அவன் (மறுமையில்) நம்மிடம் வந்து விடுவானேயானால், “எனக்கும், உனக்குமிடையில் கிழக்குத் திசைக்கும், மேற்குத் திசைக்கும் உள்ள தொலை தூரமாக இருந்திருக்க வேண்டுமே? என்றும், (என்னை வழிகெடுத்த) இந்தத் தோழன் மிகக் கெட்டவன்” என்றும் கூறுவான்.

Then when he comes to Us, he will say [to his devil associate], “I wish you were as distant from me as the east and west. What a terrible associate [you were]!”

Walan yanfaAAakumu alyawma ith thalamtum annakum fee alAAathabi mushtarikoona

It will profit you not this Day (O you who turn away from Allâh's remembrance and His worship) as you did wrong, (and) that you will be sharers (you and your Qarîn) in the punishment.

And never will it benefit you that Day, when you have wronged, that you are [all] sharing in the punishment.

(அதற்கு அவர்களை நோக்கி) "நீங்கள் வரம்பு மீறி பாவம் செய்ததன் காரணமாக இன்றைய தினம் உங்களுக்கு (எதுவுமே) பயனளிக்காது. நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் வேதனையை அனுபவிப்பதில் (அந்த ஷைத்தான்களுக்குக்) கூட்டானவர்கள்தாம்" (என்றும் கூறப்படும்).

(அப்போது) “நீங்கள் அநியாயம் செய்த படியால் இன்று உங்களுக்கு நிச்சயமாக யாதொரு பயனும் ஏற்படாது; நீங்கள் வேதனையில் கூட்டாளிகளாக இருப்பீர்கள்” (என்று அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லப்படும்).

(உலகில் இருந்தபோது) நீங்கள் அநியாயம் செய்துவிட்டதற்காக, இன்றையத் தினம் உங்களுக்கு (எதுவும்) பயனளிக்கவே செய்யது, நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் வேதனையில் கூட்டானவர்களாக இருப்பீர்கள் (என்று கூறப்படும்).

[They will be told], “As you have done wrong, it will not benefit you Today that you are sharing the punishment.”

Afaanta tusmiAAu alssumma aw tahdee alAAumya waman kana fee dalalin mubeenin

Can you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) make the deaf to hear, or can you guide the blind or him who is in manifest error?

Then will you make the deaf hear, [O Muhammad], or guide the blind or he who is in clear error?

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் செவிடனைக் கேட்கும்படி செய்து விடுவீர்களா? அல்லது குருடனை (அல்லது மனமுரண்டாகவே) பகிரங்கமான வழிகேட்டிலிருப்பவனை நேரான வழியில் நீங்கள் செலுத்தி விடுவீர்களா?

ஆகவே (நபியே!) நீர் செவிடனை கேட்குமாறு செய்ய முடியுமா? அல்லது குருடனையும், பகிரங்கமான வழிகேட்டில் இருப்பவனையும் நேர்வழியில் செலுத்த முடியுமா?

(நபியே!) நீர் செவிடனை கேட்கச் செய்வீரா? அல்லது நீர் குருடனையும், பகிரங்கமான வழிகேட்டிலிருப்பவனையும் நேர்வழியில் செலுத்துவீரா?

Can you make the deaf hear, or guide the blind or the one who is clearly misguided?

Faimma nathhabanna bika fainna minhum muntaqimoona

And even if We take you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) away, We shall indeed take vengeance on them.

And whether [or not] We take you away [in death], indeed, We will take retribution upon them.

(நபியே! அவர்கள் மத்தியிலிருந்து) உங்களை நாம் எடுத்துக் கொண்டபோதிலும், நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்களிடம் பழி வாங்கியே தீருவோம்.

எனவே உம்மை நாம் (இவ்வுலகை விட்டும்) எடுத்துக் கொண்ட போதிலும், நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்களிடம் பழி தீர்ப்போம்.

பின்னர் (நபியே!) உம்மை நாம் (மரணிக்கச் செய்து இவ்வுலகிலிருந்து) கொண்டு செல்வோமாயின், அப்போது நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்களைத் தண்டிக்ககூடியவர்கள்தாம்_

Either We take you away [in death], We will surely exact retribution upon them,

Aw nuriyannaka allathee waAAadnahum fainna AAalayhim muqtadiroona

Or (if) We show you that wherewith We threaten them, then verily, We have perfect command over them.

Or whether [or not] We show you that which We have promised them, indeed, We are Perfect in Ability.

அல்லது நாம் அவர்களுக்கு வாக்களித்த தண்டனையை நீங்கள் (உயிருடனிருந்து) உங்களது கண்ணால் காணும்படி செய்வோம். நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்கள் மீது ஆற்றல் உடைய வனாகவே இருக்கின்றோம்.

அல்லது நாம் அவர்களுக்கு (எச்சரித்து) வாக்களித்துள்ளதை (வேதனையை) நீர் காணும் படிச் செய்வோம் - நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்கள் மீது ஆற்றலுடையோராய் இருக்கின்றோம்.

அல்லது நாம் அவர்களுக்கு வாக்களித்திருந்தோமே அத்தகையதை (_தண்டனையை) நிச்சயமாக நாம் உமக்குக் காண்பிப்போம், ஏனெனில் நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்கள் மீது ஆற்றலுடையோராவோம்.

or We will show you what We warned them of, for We have full power over them.

Faistamsik biallathee oohiya ilayka innaka AAala siratin mustaqeemin

So hold you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) fast to that which is revealed to you. Verily, you are on a Straight Path.

So adhere to that which is revealed to you. Indeed, you are on a straight path.

(நபியே!) வஹ்யி மூலம் உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டதைப் பலமாகப் பிடித்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள். நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் நேரான பாதையில்தான் இருக்கின்றீர்கள்.

(நபியே!) உமக்கு வஹீ அறிவிக்கப்பட்டதை பலமாகப் பற்றிப் பிடித்துக் கொள்ளும்; நிச்சயமாக நீர் நேரான பாதையின் மீதே இருக்கின்றீர்.

ஆகவே, (நபியே!) வஹீ மூலம் உமக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டதே அத்தகையதைப் பலமாகப் பிடித்துகொள்வீராக! நிச்சயமாக நீர் நேரான பாதையின் மீது இருக்கின்றீர்.

So hold fast to what is revealed to you. You are indeed on a straight path.

Wainnahu lathikrun laka waliqawmika wasawfa tusaloona

And verily, this (the Qur'ân) is indeed a Reminder for you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) and your people (Quraish people, or your followers), and you will be questioned (about it).

And indeed, it is a remembrance for you and your people, and you [all] are going to be questioned.

நிச்சயமாக இது உங்களுக்கும், உங்களுடைய மக்களுக்கும் ஒரு நல்லுபதேசமாகும். (அதிலுள்ளபடி நடந்து கொண்டீர்களா என்பதைப் பற்றி) பின்னர் நீங்கள் கேள்வி கேட்கப்படுவீர்கள்.

நிச்சயமாக இது உமக்கும் உம் சமூகத்தாருக்கும் (கீர்த்தியளிக்கும்) உபதேசமாக இருக்கிறது; (இதைப் பின்பற்றியது பற்றி) நீங்கள் விசாரிக்கப்படுவீர்கள்.

மேலும், நிச்சயமாக (குர் ஆனாகிய) இது உமக்கும், உம்முடைய சமூகத்தார்க்கும் ஒரு நல்லுபதேசமாகும், (மறுமையில்) நீங்கள் கேட்கப்படுவீர்கள்.

Indeed, this [Qur’an] is a reminder for you and your people, and surely you will [all] be questioned.

Waisal man arsalna min qablika min rusulina ajaAAalna min dooni alrrahmani alihatan yuAAbadoona

And ask (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) those of Our Messengers whom We sent before you: "Did We ever appoint âlihah (gods) to be worshipped besides the Most Gracious (Allâh)?"

And ask those We sent before you of Our messengers; have We made besides the Most Merciful deities to be worshipped?

(நபியே!) உங்களுக்கு முன்னர் நாம் அனுப்பிவைத்த நம்முடைய தூதர்களைப் பற்றி நீங்கள் கேளுங்கள். வணங்குவதற்கு ரஹ்மானையன்றி வேறு கடவுள்களை நாம் ஆக்கினோமா?

நம்முடைய தூதர்களில் உமக்கு முன்னே நாம் அனுப்பியவர்களை “அர் ரஹ்மானையன்றி வணங்கப்படுவதற்காக (வேறு) தெய்வங்களை நாம் ஏற்படுத்தினோமா?” என்று நீர் கேட்பீராக.  

(நபியே!) நம்முடைய தூதர்களாகிய உமக்கு முன்னர் நாம் அனுப்பி வைத்தவர்களிடம் அர்ரஹ்மானையன்றி வணங்கப்படும் வேறு தெய்வங்களை நாம் ஆக்கியிருந்தோமா? என்று நீர் கேட்பீராக!

Ask those of Our messengers whom We sent before you: Did We appoint gods to be worshiped besides the Most Compassionate?

Walaqad arsalna moosa biayatina ila firAAawna wamalaihi faqala innee rasoolu rabbi alAAalameena

And indeed We did send Mûsâ (Moses) with Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs (inviting them to Allâh's religion of Islâm). He said: "Verily, I am a Messenger of the Lord of the 'آlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists)."

And certainly did We send Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his establishment, and he said, "Indeed, I am the messenger of the Lord of the worlds."

நிச்சயமாக மூஸாவை, நாம் நம்முடைய (பல) அத்தாட்சிகளுடன் ஃபிர்அவ்னிடமும் அவனுடைய மக்களிடமும் அனுப்பி வைத்தோம். அவர் (அவர்களை நோக்கி) "நிச்சயமாக நான் உலகத்தார் அனைவரின் இறைவனால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட ஒரு தூதர்" என்று கூறினார்.

மூஸாவை நம்முடைய அத்தாட்சிகளுடன் ஃபிர்அவ்னிடமும், அவனுடைய சமுதாய தலைவர்களிடமும் திட்டமாக நாம் அனுப்பி வைத்தோம். அவர் (அவர்களை நோக்கி:) “நிச்சயமாக நாம் அகிலங்களின் இறைவனால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட தூதன் ஆவேன்” என்று கூறினார்.

நிச்சயமாக மூஸாவை நம்முடைய அத்தாட்சிகளுடன் ஃபிர் அவ்னிடமும், அப்பொழுது சமுதாயத் தலைவர்களிடமும் நாம் அனுப்பி வைத்தோம், அப்பொழுது அவர் (அவர்களிடம்) “நிச்சயமாக நான் அகிலத்தாரின் இரட்சகனுடைய தூதன்” (ஆவேன்) என்று கூறினார்.

Indeed, We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his courtiers, so he said: “I am a messenger of the Lord of the worlds.”

Falamma jaahum biayatina itha hum minha yadhakoona

But when he came to them with Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) behold, they laughed at them.

But when he brought them Our signs, at once they laughed at them.

அவர், அவர்களிடம் நம்முடைய அத்தாட்சிகளைக் கொண்டு வந்தபோது, அவர்கள் அவைகளை (ஏளனம் செய்து) நகைக்க ஆரம்பித்தார்கள்.

ஆனால், அவர்களிடம் நம்முடைய அத்தாட்சிகளை அவர் கொண்டு வந்தபோது, அவர்கள் அவற்றைக் கொண்டு (பரிகசித்துச்) சிரித்தனர்.

ஆகவே, அவர்களிடம் நம்முடைய அத்தாட்சிகளைக் கொண்டு அவர் வந்த போது, உடனே அவர்கள் அ(தை ஏற்றுகொள்வ)தை விட்டு (ஏளனம் செய்து) சிரித்தனர்.

But as soon as he came to them with Our signs, they laughed at them.

Wama nureehim min ayatin illa hiya akbaru min okhtiha waakhathnahum bialAAathabi laAAallahum yarjiAAoona

And not an آyah (sign, etc.) We showed them but it was greater than its fellow preceding it, and We seized them with torment, in order that they might turn [from their polytheism to Allâh's religion (Islâmic Monotheism)].

And We showed them not a sign except that it was greater than its sister, and We seized them with affliction that perhaps they might return [to faith].

நாம் அவர்களுக்குக் காண்பித்த ஒவ்வொரு அத்தாட்சியும், மற்றொன்றை விடப் பெரிதாகவே இருந்தது. பின்னும், அவர்கள் (பாவத்திலிருந்து) திரும்பி விடுவதற்காக (ஆரம்பத்தில் அழித்து விடாமல் இலேசான) வேதனையைக் கொண்டு (மட்டும்) அவர்களைப் பிடித்தோம்.

ஆனால் நாம் அவர்களுக்குக் காட்டிய ஒவ்வோர் அத்தாட்சியும், அடுத்ததை விட மிகவும் பெரிதாகவே இருந்தது; எனினும் அவர்கள் (பாவத்திலிருந்து) மீள்வதற்காக நாம் அவர்களை வேதனையைக் கொண்டே பிடித்தோம்.

மேலும் எந்த அத்தாட்சியையும், அது அதற்கு முந்தியதைவிட மிகப்பெரியதாகவே தவிர நாம் அவர்களுக்கு காண்பிக்கவில்லை, மேலும், அவர்கள் (பாவத்திலிருந்து) மீள்வதற்காக (இலேசான) வேதனையைக் கொண்டு நாம் அவர்களைப் பிடித்தோம்.

Every sign We showed them was greater than the one before it, and We seized them with punishment so that they may turn in repentance.

Waqaloo ya ayyuha alsahiru odAAu lana rabbaka bima AAahida AAindaka innana lamuhtadoona

And they said [to Mûsâ (Moses)]: "O you sorcerer! Invoke your Lord for us according to what He has covenanted with you. Verily, We shall guide ourselves (aright)."

And they said [to Moses], "O magician, invoke for us your Lord by what He has promised you. Indeed, we will be guided."

அச்சமயம் அவர்கள் (மூஸாவை நோக்கி) "சூனியக்காரரே! (உங்களது இறைவன் உங்களுடைய பிரார்த்தனையை அங்கீகரித்துக் கொள்வதாக) உங்களுக்களித்த வாக்குறுதியைக் கொண்டு (இவ் வேதனையை நீக்கி) எங்களுக்கு அருள் புரிய உங்களது இறைவனிடம் பிரார்த்தனை செய்வீராக! (அவ்வாறு நீக்கிவிட்டால்) நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் (உங்களுடைய) நேரான வழிக்கு வந்து விடுவோம்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

மேலும், அவர்கள்: “சூனியக்காரரே (உம் இறைவன்) உம்மிடம் அறுதிமானம் செய்திருப்பதால், நீர் எங்களுக்காக உம்முடைய இறைவனை அழை(த்துப் பிரார்த்தனை செய்)யும், நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் நேர்வழியை பெற்று விடுவோம்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

மேலும் அவர்கள் (மூஸாவிடம்,) “சூனியக்காரரே! உமதிரட்சகனிடம் அவன் உமக்களித்த வாக்குறுதியைக் கொண்டு எங்களுக்(கு அருள் புரிவதற்)காக நீர் பிரார்த்தனை செய்வீராக! (அவ்வாறு செய்தால்) நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் (உம்முடைய) நேர் வழியை அடைந்தவர்களாவோம்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

They said, “O magician, call upon your Lord for us, by virtue of the covenant He has made with you; we will surely accept guidance.”

Falamma kashafna AAanhumu alAAathaba itha hum yankuthoona

But when We removed the torment from them, behold, they broke their covenant (that they will believe if We remove the torment from them).

But when We removed from them the affliction, at once they broke their word.

(அவ்வாறு மூஸாவும் பிரார்த்தனை செய்து) நாம் அவர்களுடைய வேதனையை நீக்கிய சமயத்தில், பின்னும் அவர்கள் (தங்கள் வாக்குறுதியை) முறித்து விட்டார்கள்.

எனினும், நாம் அவர்களுடைய வேதனையை நீக்கியதும், அவர்கள் தங்கள் வாக்குறுதியை முறித்து விட்டார்கள்.

(மூஸாவின் பிரார்த்தனைக்குப்) பின்னர், நாம் அவர்களுடைய வேதனையை நீக்கியபொழுது, அச்சமயத்தில் அவர்கள் (தங்கள் வாக்குறுதியை) மீறிவிட்டார்கள்.

But as soon We removed the punishment from them, they broke their promise.

Wanada firAAawnu fee qawmihi qala ya qawmi alaysa lee mulku misra wahathihi alanharu tajree min tahtee afala tubsiroona

And Fir'aun (Pharaoh) proclaimed among his people (saying): "O my people! Is not mine the dominion of Egypt, and these rivers flowing underneath me. See you not then?

And Pharaoh called out among his people; he said, "O my people, does not the kingdom of Egypt belong to me, and these rivers flowing beneath me; then do you not see?

பின்னர், ஃபிர்அவ்ன் தன்னுடைய மக்களை நோக்கி, "என்னுடைய மக்களே! இந்த "மிஸ்ர்" தேசத்தின் ஆட்சி என்னுடையதல்லவா? (அதிலிருக்கும்) இந்த (நைல்) நதி(யின் கால்வாய்)கள் என் கட்டளைப்படி செல்வதை நீங்கள் பார்க்க வில்லையா?" என்று பறை சாற்றினான்.

மேலும் ஃபிர்அவ்ன் தன் சமூகத்தாரிடம் பறை சாற்றினான்: “என்னுடைய சமூகத்தாரே! இந்த மிஸ்ரு (எகிப்தின்) அரசாங்கம், என்னுடையதல்லவா? என் (மாளிகை) அடியில் ஓடிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் (நீல நதியின்) இக்கால்வாய்களும் (என் ஆட்சிக்கு உட்பட்டவை என்பதைப்) பார்க்கவில்லையா?

மேலும், ஃபிர் அவ்ன் தன்னுடைய சமூத்தாரை விளித்து, “என்னுடைய சமூகத்தாரே! (இந்த) மிஸ்ரின் (_எகிப்து நாட்டின்) ஆட்சி என்னுடையதில்லையா? இந்த ஆறுகள் எனக்குக் கீழ் (என் காலடியில்) ஓடுகின்றனவே, (இதை) நீங்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா?” என்று கூறினான்.

Pharaoh proclaimed to his people, “O my people, does not the kingdom of Egypt belong to me, and these streams flowing at my feet? Do you not see?

Am ana khayrun min hatha allathee huwa maheenun wala yakadu yubeenu

"Am I not better than this one [Mûsâ (Moses)] who is despicable and can scarcely express himself clearly?

Or am I [not] better than this one who is insignificant and hardly makes himself clear?

"தவிர, நான் இந்த இழிவான மனிதரை விட சிறந்தவனாயிற்றே! தெளிவாகப் பேசவும் அவரால் முடிய வில்லையே!" (என்றும்,)

“அல்லது, இழிவானவரும், தெளிவாகப் பேச இயலாதவருமாகிய இவரை விட நான் மேலானவன் இல்லையா?

அல்லது இழிவானவரும், இன்னும், தெளிவாகப் பேச இயலாதவருமான (மூஸாவாகியா) இவரைவிட நான் மேலானவனல்லவா? (என்றும்).

Or am I not better than this contemptible one who can hardly express himself?

Falawla olqiya AAalayhi aswiratun min thahabin aw jaa maAAahu almalaikatu muqtarineena

"Why then are not golden bracelets bestowed on him, or angels sent along with him?"

Then why have there not been placed upon him bracelets of gold or come with him the angels in conjunction?"

"(அவர் நம்மைவிட மேலாக இருந்தால், பரிசாக) அவருக்குப் பொற்காப்பு அளிக்கப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டாமா? அல்லது அவருடன் மலக்குகள் ஒன்று சேர்ந்து பரிவாரங்களாக வர வேண்டாமா?" (என்றும் கூறி,)

“(என்னைவிட இவர் மேலாயிருப்பின்) ஏன் இவருக்கு பொன்னாலாகிய கங்கணங்கள் அணிவிக்கப்படவில்லை, அல்லது அவருடன் மலக்குகள் கூட்டமாக வர வேண்டாமா?”

“(அவர் என்னைவிட மேலானவராக இருப்பின்,) பொன்னாலான கடகங்கள் அவருக்கு அணிவிக்கப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டாமா? அல்லது அவருடன் மலக்குகள் (அவருக்கு சேவை செய்ய) இணைந்தவர்களாக வரவேண்டாமா?” (என்றும் கூறினான்).

Then why there are not sent down upon him bracelets of gold or come with him angels to support him?”

Faistakhaffa qawmahu faataAAoohu innahum kanoo qawman fasiqeena

Thus he [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] befooled (and misled) his people, and they obeyed him. Verily, they were ever a people who were Fâsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allâh).

So he bluffed his people, and they obeyed him. Indeed, they were [themselves] a people defiantly disobedient [of Allah].

அவன் தன்னுடைய மக்களை மயக்கி விட்டான். ஆதலால், அவர்களும் அவனுக்கு வழிப்பட்டு விட்டார்கள். ஏனென்றால் அவர்கள் நிச்சயமாக பாவம் செய்யும் (சுபாவமுடைய) மக்களாக இருந்தனர்.

(இவ்வாறாக) அவன் தன் சமூகத்தாரை (அவர்களுடைய அறிவை) இலேசாக மதித்தான்; அவனுக்கு அவர்களும் கீழ்ப்படிந்து விட்டார்கள். நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் வரம்பை மீறிய சமூகத்தாராகவும் ஆகி விட்டார்கள்.

அவன் தன்னுடைய சமூகத்தாரை (குறைமதியுடையோராகக்கருதி) இலேசாக மதித்தான். ஆதலால், அவர்களும் அவனுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்துவிட்டார்கள், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வின் கட்டளையை ஏற்காது அதை மீறிய) பாவிகளான சமூகத்தினராக இருந்தனர்.

Thus he made fool of his people and they obeyed him. They were indeed a wicked people.

Falamma asafoona intaqamna minhum faaghraqnahum ajmaAAeena

So when they angered Us, We punished them, and drowned them all.

And when they angered Us, We took retribution from them and drowned them all.

(இவ்வாறு அவர்கள்) நமக்குக் கோபமூட்டவே, அவர்களிடம் நாம் பழிவாங்கும் பொருட்டு, அவர்கள் அனைவரையும் மூழ்கடித்து விட்டோம்.

பின்னர், அவர்கள் நம்மை கோபப்படுத்தியபோது, நாம் அவர்களிடம் பழி தீர்த்தோம்; அன்றியும், அவர்கள் யாவரையும் மூழ்கடித்தோம்.

(இவ்வாறு அவர்கள்) நம்மை கோபப்படுத்தியபோது, அவர்களை நாம் தண்டனை செய்தோம், பின்னர் அவர்கள் அனைவரையும் மூழ்கடித்துவிட்டோம்.

When they angered Us, We exacted Our retribution and drowned them all,

FajaAAalnahum salafan wamathalan lilakhireena

And We made them a precedent (as a lesson for those coming after them), and an example to later generations.

And We made them a precedent and an example for the later peoples.

இன்னும், அவர்களை (அழித்து) சென்றுபோன மக்களாக்கி (அவர்களுடைய சரித்திரத்தை) பிற்காலத்தில் உள்ளவர்களுக்கு உதாரணமாக்கினோம்.

இன்னும், நாம், அவர்களை (அழிந்து போன) முந்தியவர்களாகவும், பின் வருவோருக்கு உதாரணமாகவும் ஆக்கினோம்.  

பின்னர், அவர்களை (படிப்பினையால்) முந்தியவர்களாகவும், பிற்காலத்திலுள்ளோருக்கு உதாரணமாகவும் நாம் ஆக்கினோம்.

Thus We made them a precedent and an example for the later generations.

Walamma duriba ibnu maryama mathalan itha qawmuka minhu yasiddoona

And when the son of Maryam (Mary) is quoted as an example [i.e. 'خsâ (Jesus) is worshipped like their idols], behold, your people cry aloud (laugh out at the example).

And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud.

(நபியே!) மர்யமுடைய மகனை உதாரணமாகக் கூறப்பட்ட சமயத்தில், அதைப்பற்றி உங்களுடைய மக்கள் (கொக்கரித்துக்) கைதட்டி, நகைக்க ஆரம்பித்து விட்டனர்.

இன்னும் மர்யமுடைய மகன் உதாரணமாகக் கூறப்பட்ட போது, உம்முடைய சமூகத்தார் (பரிகசித்து) ஆர்ப்பரித்தார்கள்.

(நபியே!) இன்னும் மர்யமுடைய மகன் உதாரணமாகக் கூறப்பட்டபோது, அதைப்பற்றி உம்முடைய சமூகத்தார் (சிரித்தும், கேலியாகவும்) அது சமயம் கூச்சலிட்டார்கள்.

When the example of the son of Mary was given, your people laughed and jeered,

Waqaloo aalihatuna khayrun am huwa ma daraboohu laka illa jadalan bal hum qawmun khasimoona

And say: "Are our âlihah (gods) better or is he ['خsâ (Jesus)]?" They quoted not the above example except for argument. Nay! But they are a quarrelsome people. (See V.21:98-101)

And they said, "Are your gods better, or is he?" They did not present the comparison except for [mere] argument. But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute.

"எங்களுடைய தெய்வங்கள் மேலா? அல்லது அவர் மேலா?" என்று கேட்கத் தலைப்பட்டனர். வீண் விதண்டாவாதத்திற் கன்றி உங்களுக்கு அவர்கள், அவரை உதாரணமாக எடுத்துக் கொள்ளவில்லை. இவர்கள் வீண் தர்க்கம் செய்யும் மக்கள்தாம்.

மேலும்: “எங்கள் தெய்வங்கள் மேலா? அல்லது அவர் மேலா?” என்றும் அவர்கள் கேட்கிறார்கள்; அவரை வீண் தர்க்கத்திற்காகவே உம்மிடம் உதாரணமாக எடுத்துக் கொள்கிறார்கள்; ஆகவே அவர்கள் விதண்டா வாதம் செய்யும் சமூகத்தாரேயாவர்.

மேலும் எங்களுடைய தெய்வங்கள் மிகச் சிறந்தவையா? அல்லது அவரா? என்றும் கேட்கிறார்கள் (வீண்)தர்க்கத்திற்காகவே தவிர உம்மிடம் அவர்கள், அவரை உதாரணமாகக் கூறவில்லை, மாறாக இவர்கள் வீண் தர்க்கம் செய்யும் சமூகத்தாராக இருக்கின்றனர்.

and they said, “Are Our gods better or he?” They only mentioned him to you for the sake of argument. They are indeed a contentious people.

In huwa illa AAabdun anAAamna AAalayhi wajaAAalnahu mathalan libanee israeela

He ['خsâ (Jesus)] was not more than a slave. We granted Our Favour to him, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel (i.e. his creation without a father).

Jesus was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel.

ஈஸாவோ, நம்முடைய அடிமையே தவிர, (அவர் கடவுளல்ல; நம்முடைய பிள்ளையுமல்ல; அவர் இவ்வாறு கூறவு மில்லை; இதனை மறுத்தே கூறியிருக்கின்றார்.) ஆயினும், அவர்மீது நாம் அருள்புரிந்து, இஸ்ராயீலின் சந்ததிகளுக்கு அவரை நாம் ஓர் உதாரணமாக்கினோம்.

அவர் (ஈஸா நம்முடைய) அடியாரே அன்றி வேறில்லை; அவருக்கு நாம் அருட்கொடையைச் சொரிந்து இஸ்ராயீலின் சந்ததியாருக்கு அவரை நல்லுதாரணமாக ஆக்கினோம்.

(ஈஸாவாகிய) அவர், (நம்முடைய) அடியாரே அன்றி (அவர் தெய்வம்) இல்லை, அவர் மீது நாம் அருள் புரிந்து இஸ்ராயீலின் மக்களுக்கு அவரை ஓர் உதாரணமாக்கினோம்.

He was only a slave whom We favored and made him an example for the Children of Israel.

Walaw nashao lajaAAalna minkum malaikatan fee alardi yakhlufoona

And if it were Our Will, We would have [destroyed you (mankind) all, and] made angels to replace you on the earth. (Tafsir At-Tabarî)

And if We willed, We could have made [instead] of you angels succeeding [one another] on the earth.

நாம் விரும்பினால் உங்களிலிருந்து மலக்குகளை படைத்து (உங்களை அழித்துப்) பூமியில் உங்களுக்குப் பதிலாக அவர்களை ஆக்கிவிடுவோம்.

நாம் விரும்புவோமாயின் உங்களிடையே பூமியில் நாம் மலக்குகளை ஏற்படுத்தி, அவர்களை பின்தோன்றல்களாக்கி இருப்போம்.

நாம் நாடினால், உங்களுக்குப்பகரமாக பூமியில் மலக்குகளை நாம் ஆக்கி இருப்போம், (உங்களது அழிவிற்குப்பின்) அவர்கள் (உங்களுக்குப்) பின் தோன்றல்களாக (ஆகி) இருப்பர்.

If We willed, We could [destroy you and] replace you with angels, succeeding one another on earth.

Wainnahu laAAilmun lilssaAAati fala tamtarunna biha waittabiAAooni hatha siratun mustaqeemun

And he ['خsâ (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)] shall be a known sign for (the coming of) the Hour (Day of Resurrection) [i.e. 'خsâ's (Jesus) descent on the earth]. Therefore have no doubt concerning it (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). And follow Me (Allâh) (i.e. be obedient to Allâh and do what He orders you to do, O mankind)! This is the Straight Path (of Islâmic Monotheism, leading to Allâh and to His Paradise).

And indeed, Jesus will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me. This is a straight path.

நிச்சயமாக (வரவிருக்கும்) மறுமைக்குரிய அத்தாட்சிகளில் அவருமோர் அத்தாட்சியாவார். ஆகவே, நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் இதில் சந்தேகிக்க வேண்டாம். என்னையே பின்பற்றி நடங்கள். இதுவே நேரான வழி.

நிச்சயமாக அவர் (ஈஸா) மறுமை நாளின் அத்தாட்சியாவார்; ஆகவே, நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் இதில் சந்தேகப்பட வேண்டாம்; மேலும், என்னையே பின்பற்றுங்கள்; இதுவே (ஸிராத்துல் முஸ்தகீம்) நேரான வழி (என்று நபியே! நீர் கூறுவிராக!)

இன்னும், நிச்சயமாக அவர், (ஈஸா அலைஹிஸ்ஸலாம் வானத்திலிருந்து இறங்குவது கொண்டு) மறுமை நாளின் (அடையாளம் நெருங்கிவிட்டது என அறியப்படும் ஓர்) அத்தாட்சியாவார். ஆகவே, நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் இதில் சந்தேகிக்க வேண்டாம், நீங்கள் என்னையே பின்பற்றுங்கள், இதுவே நேரான வழியாகும் (என்று நபியே! நீர் கூறுவீராக!).

And he [Jesus] will be a sign of the Hour; so do not have doubt about it and follow me. This is a straight path.

Wala yasuddannakumu alshshaytanu innahu lakum AAaduwwun mubeenun

And let not Shaitân (Satan) hinder you (from the right religion, i.e. Islâmic Monotheism). Verily, he (Satan) to you is a plain enemy.

And never let Satan avert you. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.

உங்களை ஷைத்தான் தடுத்துக் கெடுத்துவிட வேண்டாம். நிச்சயமாக அவன் உங்களுக்குப் பகிரங்கமான எதிரியாக இருக்கின்றான்."

அன்றியும் ஷைத்தான் உங்களை (நேர்வழியை விட்டும்) தடுத்து விடாதிருக்கட்டும் - நிச்சயமாக அவன் உங்களுக்குப் பகிரங்கமான விரோதியாகவே இருக்கிறான்.

உங்களை ஷைத்தான் (நேர் வழியில் செல்வதைவிட்டும்) தடுத்து விடவும் வேண்டாம். நிச்சயமாக அவன் உங்களுக்குப் பகிரங்கமான விரோதியாவான்.

Do not let Satan turn you away [from the straight path], for he is your sworn enemy.

Walamma jaa AAeesa bialbayyinati qala qad jitukum bialhikmati waliobayyina lakum baAAda allathee takhtalifoona feehi faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni

And when 'خsâ (Jesus) came with (Our) clear Proofs, he said: "I have come to you with Al-Hikmah (Prophethood), and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) in which you differ. Therefore fear Allâh and obey me.

And when Jesus brought clear proofs, he said, "I have come to you with wisdom and to make clear to you some of that over which you differ, so fear Allah and obey me.

ஈஸா தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகளைக் கொண்டு வந்தபொழுது (தன் மக்களை நோக்கி) "மெய்யாகவே ஞானத்தை நான் உங்களுக்குக் கொண்டு வந்திருக்கிறேன். நீங்கள் தர்க்கித்துக் கொண்டிருப்பவைகளில் சிலவற்றை உங்களுக்கு விவரித்தும் கூறுவேன். நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்குப் பயந்து எனக்கு வழிபடுங்கள்" என்றும்,

இன்னும், ஈஸா தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகளுடன் வந்தபோது: “மெய்யாகவே நான் உங்களுக்கு ஞானத்தைக் கொண்டு வந்திருக்கிறேன்; நீங்கள் கருத்து வேற்றுமையுடன் இருக்கும் சிலவற்றை உங்களுக்கு விளக்கிக் கூறுவேன் - ஆகவே நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்விடம் பயபக்தியுடன் இருங்கள்; எனக்கும் கீழ்படியுங்கள்” என்று கூறினார்.

இன்னும் ஈஸா (அத்தாட்சிகளில்) தெளிவானவைகளைக் கொண்டு வந்தபொழுது, “உங்களிடம் திட்டமாக ஞானத்தை (நபித்துவத்தை) நான் கொண்டு வந்திருக்கிறேன், எதில் நீங்கள் (தர்க்கித்து) கருத்து வேறுபாடு கொண்டிருக்கிறீர்களோ அத்தகைய சிலவற்றை உங்களுக்கு விளக்கிக்கூறுவதற்காகவும் (நான் வந்துள்ளேன்) ஆகவே, நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்குப் பயந்து எனக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியுங்கள்” என்று (தன் சமூகத்தாரிடம்) கூறினார்.

When Jesus came with clear signs, he said, “I have come to you with wisdom, and to clarify to you some of that concerning which you differ; so fear Allah and obey me.

Inna Allaha huwa rabbee warabbukum faoAAbudoohu hatha siratun mustaqeemun

"Verily, Allâh! He is my Lord (God) and your Lord (God). So worship Him (Alone). This is the (only) Straight Path (i.e. Allâh's religion of true Islâmic Monotheism)."

Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is a straight path."

"நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்தான் என்னுடைய இறைவனும், உங்களுடைய இறைவனுமாவான். (நான் இறைவன் அல்ல.) ஆதலால், அவன் ஒருவனையே நீங்கள் வணங்குங்கள். (என்னை வணங்காதீர்கள்.) இதுதான் நேரான வழி" என்றும் கூறினார்.

நிச்சயமாக, அல்லாஹ்தான் எனக்கும் இறைவன், உங்களுக்கும் இறைவன். ஆகவே அவனையே வணங்குங்கள், இதுவே ஸிராத்துல் முஸ்தகீம் (நேரான வழி).

“நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்தான் என்னுடைய இரட்சகனும், உங்களுடைய இரட்சகனுமாவான், ஆதலால், அ(வன் ஒரு)வனையே நீங்கள் வணங்குங்கள், இதுதான் நேரான வழி” (என்றும் கூறினார்).

Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord; so worship Him. This is a straight path.”

Faikhtalafa alahzabu min baynihim fawaylun lillatheena thalamoo min AAathabi yawmin aleemin

But the sects from among themselves differed. So woe to those who do wrong [by ascribing things to 'خsâ (Jesus) that are not true] from the torment of a painful Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)!

But the denominations from among them differed [and separated], so woe to those who have wronged from the punishment of a painful Day.

எனினும், அவருடைய கூட்டத்தினர் (அவரைப் பற்றித்) தங்களுக்குள் (தர்க்கித்துக் கொண்டு) அவருக்கு மாறுசெய்ய முற்பட்டனர். ஆகவே, இந்த அநியாயக்காரர்களுக்கு துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையின் கேடுதான்!

ஆனால், அவர்களிடையே (ஏற்பட்ட பல) பிரிவினர் தமக்குள் மாறுபட்டனர்; ஆதலின், அநியாயம் செய்தார்களே அவர்களுக்கு நோவினை தரும் நாளுடைய வேதனையின் கேடுதான் உண்டாகும்.

பிறகு அவர்களுக்கு மத்தியிலிருந்து (உருவான) பல்வேறு கூட்டத்தினர் மாறுபட்டனர், ஆகவே, அநியாயம் செய்தார்களே அவர்களுக்குத் துன்புறுத்தும் நாளுடைய வேதனையின் கேடுதான் இருக்கிறது.

But the factions differed among themselves [about Jesus]; so woe to the wrongdoers from the punishment of a painful Day!

Hal yanthuroona illa alssaAAata an tatiyahum baghtatan wahum la yashAAuroona

Do they only wait for the Hour that it shall come upon them suddenly while they perceive not?

Are they waiting except for the Hour to come upon them suddenly while they perceive not?

இவர்கள் அறிந்துகொள்ளாத விதத்தில் திடீரென இவர்களிடம் மறுமை வருவதேயன்றி (வேறு எதனையும்) இவர்கள் எதிர்பார்க்கின்றனரா?

தங்களுக்கே தெரியாத விதத்தில் திடுகூறாக இவர்களுக்கு (இறுதி நாளின்) வேளை வருவதைத் தவிர, (வேறெதையும்) இவர்கள் எதிர்ப்பார்க்கிறார்களா?

அவர்கள் உணர்ந்து கொள்ளாத விதத்தில் திடீரென அவர்களிடம் மறுமை நாள் (விசாரணைக்காலம்) வருவதையன்றி (வேறெதனையும்) அவர்கள் எதிர்பார்க்கின்றனரா?

Are they waiting except for the Hour to come upon them by surprise when they least expect it?

Alakhillao yawmaithin baAAduhum libaAAdin AAaduwwun illa almuttaqeena

Friends on that Day will be foes one to another except Al-Muttaqûn (the pious. See V.2:2).

Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous

அந்நாளில் நண்பர்கள் சிலர் சிலருக்கு எதிரியாகிவிடுவர். ஆனால், இறை அச்சமுடையவர்களைத் தவிர.

பயபக்தியுடையவர்களைத் தவிர, நண்பர்கள் அந்நாளில் சிலருக்குச் சிலர் பகைவர்கள் ஆகிவிடுவார்கள்.  

பயபக்தியுடையோர்களைத் தவிர (உலகிலிருந்த) உற்ற நண்பர்கள் அந்நாளில், அவர்களில் சிலர் சிலருக்கு எதிரிகளாவார்கள்.

On that Day, close friends will become enemies to one another, except the righteous,

Ya AAibadi la khawfun AAalaykumu alyawma wala antum tahzanoona

(It will be said to the true believers of Islâmic Monotheism): My worshippers! No fear shall be on you this Day, nor shall you grieve,

[To whom Allah will say], "O My servants, no fear will there be concerning you this Day, nor will you grieve,

(அந்நாளில் இறை அச்சமுடையவர்களை நோக்கி) "என் அடியார்களே! இன்றைய தினம் உங்களுக்கு யாதொரு பயமும் இல்லை. நீங்கள் துக்கப்படவும் மாட்டீர்கள்" (என்று கூறப்படும்).

“என்னுடைய அடியார்களே! இந்நாளில் உங்களுக்கு எவ்வித பயமுமில்லை; நீங்கள் துக்கப்படவும் மாட்டீர்கள்” (என்று முஃமின்களுக்கு அல்லாஹ்வின் அறிவிப்பு வரும்).

(அந்நாளில் பயபக்தியுடையவர்களிடம்) “என் அடியார்களே! இன்றையத் தினம் உங்களுக்கு எவ்விதமான பயமுமில்லை, (எதைப் பற்றியும்) நீங்கள் கவலையும் அடையமாட்டீர்கள்” (என்று கூறப்படும்).

[It will be said to them], “O My slaves, there is no fear for you Today, nor will you grieve,

Allatheena amanoo biayatina wakanoo muslimeena

(You) who believed in Our Ayât (proofs, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and were Muslims (i.e. who submit totally to Allâh's Will, and believe in the Oneness of Allâh – Islâmic Monotheism).

[You] who believed in Our verses and were Muslims.

இவர்கள்தாம் நம்முடைய வசனங்களை நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு (நமக்கு) முற்றிலும் வழிபட்டு நடப்பவர்கள்.

இவர்கள் தாம் நம் வசனங்கள் மீது ஈமான் கொண்டு, (முற்றிலும் வழிப்பட்டு நடந்த) முஸ்லிம்களாக இருந்தனர்.

அவர்கள் எத்தகையோரேன்றால், அவர்கள் தாம் நம்முடைய வசனங்களை விசுவாசித்து, நமக்கு முற்றிலும் கீழ்ப்படிந்து நடந்தவர்களாகவும் இருந்தனர்.

[those] who believed in Our verses and submitted [to Us as Muslims].

Odkhuloo aljannata antum waazwajukum tuhbaroona

Enter Paradise, you and your wives, in happiness.

Enter Paradise, you and your kinds, delighted."

ஆகவே, (மறுமையில் இவர்களை நோக்கி) "நீங்களும் உங்கள் மனைவிமார்களும் மகிழ்ச்சியடைந்தவர்களாக சுவன பதிக்குச் சென்றுவிடுங்கள்" (என்று கூறப்படும்).

நீங்களும், உங்கள் மனைவியரும் மகிழ்வடைந்தவர்களாக சுவர்க்கத்தில் நுழையுங்கள் (என்று மறுமையில் அவர்களுக்குக் கூறப்படும்).

(ஆகவே, மறுமையில் இவர்களிடம்) “நீங்களும், உங்கள் மனைவியரும் மகிழ்விக்கப்படுபவர்களாக சுவனபதிக்குள் நுழைந்துவிடுங்கள்” (என்று கூறப்படும்).

Enter Paradise, you and your spouses, rejoicing in bliss.”

Yutafu AAalayhim bisihafin min thahabin waakwabin wafeeha ma tashtaheehi alanfusu watalaththu alaAAyunu waantum feeha khalidoona

Trays of gold and cups will be passed round them; (there will be) therein all that inner selves could desire, and all that eyes could delight in and you will abide therein forever.

Circulated among them will be plates and vessels of gold. And therein is whatever the souls desire and [what] delights the eyes, and you will abide therein eternally.

(பலவகை உணவுகளும் பானங்களும் நிறைந்த) பொற்தட்டுக்களும், கிண்ணங்களும் அவர்களைச் சுற்றிக்கொண்டே இருக்கும். அங்கு, அவர்கள் மனம் விரும்பியவைகளும், அவர்களுடைய கண்களுக்கு ரம்மியமானவையும் அவர்களுக்குக் கிடைக்கும். (அவர்களை நோக்கி) "இதில் என்றென்றும் நீங்கள் வசித்திருங்கள்" (என்றும் கூறப்படும்.)

பொன் தட்டுகளும், கிண்ணங்களும் அவர்களைச் சுற்றிக் கொண்டேயிருக்கும்; இன்னும் அங்கு அவர்கள் மனம் விரும்பியதும், கண்களுக்கு இன்பம் தருவதும் அதிலுள்ளன; இன்னும், “நீங்கள் இங்கு என்றென்றும் தங்கியிருப்பீர்கள்!” (என அவர்களிடம் சொல்லப்படும்.)

பொற்தட்டுகளையும், பிடி இல்லாத கிண்ணங்களையும் கொண்டு (சிறார்கள் மூலம்) அவர்கள் மீது சுற்றி வரப்படும், அவர்கள் மனங்கள் எதை விரும்புகின்றனவோ அதுவும், கண்கள் இன்பமடையுமே அதுவும் அதில் உள்ளன, மேலும், (அவர்களிடம்) “நீங்கள் இதில் நிரந்தரமாக(த்தங்கி) இருப்பவர்கள் (என்றும் கூறப்படும்.)”

Golden trays and cups will be passed around among them; there will be all that souls desire and eyes delight in, and you will abide therein forever.

Watilka aljannatu allatee oorithtumooha bima kuntum taAAmaloona

This is Paradise which you have been made to inherit because of your deeds which you used to do (in the life of the world).

And that is Paradise which you are made to inherit for what you used to do.

நீங்கள் செய்த நன்மைகளின் காரணமாகவே, இச் சுவனபதிக்கு நீங்கள் வாரிசாக ஆனீர்கள்.

“நீங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்த (நன்மையான) தன் காரணமாக இந்த சுவர்க்கத்தை நீங்கள் அனந்தரங் கொண்டீர்கள்.

இன்னும், “அச்சுவனபதி_எத்தகையதென்றால் அதை_நீங்கள் (உலகில்) செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவை(களான நன்மை)களுக்குப் பகரமாக அனந்தரக்காரர்களாக ஆக்கப்பட்டுள்ளீர்கள் (என்றும்).”

That is Paradise which you will inherit for what you used to do.

Lakum feeha fakihatun katheeratun minha takuloona

Therein for you will be fruits in plenty, of which you will eat (as you desire).

For you therein is much fruit from which you will eat.

நீங்கள் புசிக்கக்கூடிய (விதவிதமான) பல கனி வர்க்கங்களும் அதில் உங்களுக்கு உள்ளன" (என்றும் கூறப்படும்).

“உங்களுக்கு அதில் ஏராளமான கனிவகைகள் இருக்கின்றன; அவற்றிலிருந்து நீங்கள் உண்பீர்கள்” (எனக் கூறப்படும்).

“அதில் உங்களுக்கு அனேகக் கனிவகைகள் இருக்கின்றன, அவற்றிலிருந்து நீங்கள் புசிப்பீர்கள் (என்றும் கூறப்படும்).”

You will have therein abundant fruit to eat from.

Inna almujrimeena fee AAathabi jahannama khalidoona

Verily, the Mujrimûn (criminals, sinners, disbelievers) will be in the torment of Hell to abide therein forever.

Indeed, the criminals will be in the punishment of Hell, abiding eternally.

(ஆயினும் பாவம் செய்த) குற்றவாளிகள் நிச்சயமாக நரக வேதனையில் என்றென்றும் நிலைபெற்று விடுவார்கள்.

நிச்சயமாக, குற்றவாளிகள் நரக வேதனையில் என்றென்றும் தங்கியிருப்பார்கள்.

நிச்சயமாக (பாவம் செய்த) குற்றவாளிகள் நரக வேதனையில் நிரந்தரமாக (த்தங்கி) இருப்பவர்கள்.

Indeed, the wicked will be in the punishment of Hell forever.

La yufattaru AAanhum wahum feehi mublisoona

(The torment) will not be lightened for them, and they will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair therein.

It will not be allowed to subside for them, and they, therein, are in despair.

அவர்களுடைய (வேதனையில்) ஒரு சிறிதும் குறைக்கப்பட மாட்டாது. அதில் அவர்கள் நம்பிக்கை இழந்து விடுவார்கள்.

அவர்களுக்கு அ(வ்வேதனையான)து குறைக்கப்பட மாட்டாது; அதில் அவர்கள் நம்பிக்கையையும் இழந்து விடுவார்கள்.

அவர்களை விட்டும் (வேதனை)_ஒரு சிறிதும் குறைக்கப்படமாட்டாது, அதில் அவர்கள் நம்பிக்கையும் இழந்தவர்களாகி விடுவார்கள்.

It will not be lightened for them, and they will remain therein in utter despair.

Wama thalamnahum walakin kanoo humu alththalimeena

We wronged them not, but they were the Zâlimûn (polytheists, wrong doers).

And We did not wrong them, but it was they who were the wrongdoers.

நாம் அவர்களுக்கு யாதொரு தீங்கும் இழைத்துவிடவில்லை. எனினும், அவர்கள் தமக்குத்தாமே தீங்கிழைத்துக் கொண்டனர்.

எனினும், நாம் அவர்களுக்கு யாதோர் அநியாயமும் செய்யவில்லை; ஆனால் அவர்கள் தமக்குத் தாமே அநியாயம் செய்து கொண்டவர்களே.

மேலும், அவர்களுக்கு நாம் அநியாயம் செய்து விடவில்லை, எனினும், அவர்களே அநியாயக்காரர்களாக இருந்தனர்.

We did not wrong them, but they themselves were the wrongdoers.

Wanadaw ya maliku liyaqdi AAalayna rabbuka qala innakum makithoona

And they will cry: "O Malik (Keeper of Hell)! Let your Lord make an end of us." He will say: "Verily, you shall abide forever."

And they will call, "O Malik, let your Lord put an end to us!" He will say, "Indeed, you will remain."

(இந்நிலையில் அவர்கள் நரகத்தின் அதிபதியை நோக்கி) "மாலிக்கே! உங்களது இறைவன் எங்களுடைய காரியத்தை முடித்து விடவும். (மரணத்தின் மூலமாயினும் எங்களுக்கு விடுதலை கிடைக்கட்டும்)" என்று சப்தமிடுவார்கள். அதற்கவர் "(முடியாது!) நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் இதே நிலைமையில் (வேதனையை அனுபவித்துக் கொண்டே மரணிக்காது) இருக்க வேண்டியதுதான்" என்று கூறுவார்.

மேலும், அவர்கள் (நரகத்தில்) “யா மாலிக்” உமது இறைவன் எங்களை முடித்து விடட்டுமே!” என்று சப்தமிடுவார்கள்; அதற்கு அவர் “நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் (இங்கு) நிலைத்து இருக்க வேண்டியவர்களே” என்று கூறுவார்.

(நரகத்தின் பொறுப்பாளரிடம்) “மாலிக்கே! உமதிரட்சகன் எங்களுக்கு (மரணத்தின் மூலமாவது) தீர்ப்பளிக்கட்டும்” என்று சப்தமிடுவார்கள், அதற்கு அவர் “நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் (இதே நிலையில், மரணிக்காது) தங்கியிருக்க வேண்டியவர்களே” என்று கூறுவார்.

They will cry out, “O Mālik, let your Lord put an end to us!” He will say, “You are here to stay.”

Laqad jinakum bialhaqqi walakinna aktharakum lilhaqqi karihoona

Indeed We have brought the truth (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] with the Qur'ân) to you, but most of you have a hatred for the truth.

We had certainly brought you the truth, but most of you, to the truth, were averse.

(மக்கத்துக் காஃபிர்களே!) நிச்சயமாக நாம் உங்களிடம் உண்மையான வேதத்தை கொண்டு வந்தோம். எனினும், உங்களில் பெரும்பாலானவர்கள் அந்த உண்மையை வெறுக்கின்றனர்.

நிச்சயமாக, நாம் உங்களிடம் சத்தியத்தைக் கொண்டு வந்தோம்; ஆனால் உங்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் சத்தியத்தை வெறுக்கிறவர்களாக இருந்தார்கள் (என்றும் கூறப்படும்).

நிச்சயமாக நாம் உங்களிடம் உண்மையைக் கொண்டுவந்தோம், எனினும் உங்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் அவ்வுண்மையை வெறுக்கின்றவர்களாக இருந்தீர்கள்.

We surely brought you the truth, but most of you were averse to the truth.

Am abramoo amran fainna mubrimoona

Or have they plotted some plan? Then We too are planning.

Or have they devised [some] affair? But indeed, We are devising [a plan].

(நபியே! உங்களுக்குச் சதி செய்ய) அவர்கள் ஏதும் முடிவு கட்டிக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றனரா? அவ்வாறாயின், (அதற்குரிய பரிகாரத்தை) நாமும் முடிவு கட்டித்தான் வைத்திருக்கின்றோம்.

அல்லது அவர்கள் (மக்கத்து காஃபிர்கள்) ஏதாவது முடிவு கட்டியிருக்கிறார்களா? ஆனால் (அனைத்துக் காரியங்களுக்கும்) முடிவு கட்டுகிறது நாம் தான்.

(நபியே!) அவர்கள் ஏதேனும் ஒரு காரியத்தை (உமக்கெதிராக) முடிவு கட்டிக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றனரா? அவ்வாறாயின், (அதற்குரிய பரிகாரத்தை) நிச்சயமாக நாமும் முடிவு செய்கிறவர்கள்.

Have they devised a plan? We too have devised a plan.

Am yahsaboona anna la nasmaAAu sirrahum wanajwahum bala warusuluna ladayhim yaktuboona

Or do they think that We hear not their secrets and their private counsel? Yes (We do) and Our messengers (appointed angels in charge of mankind) are by them, to record.

Or do they think that We hear not their secrets and their private conversations? Yes, [We do], and Our messengers are with them recording.

அல்லது அவர்கள் (தங்கள் மனதில்) மறைத்து வைத்திருப்பதும் அல்லது (தங்களுக்குள்) இரகசியமாகப் பேசிக் கொள்வதும் நமக்கு எட்டாது என்று அவர்கள் எண்ணிக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றனரா? அன்று! அவர்களிடத்தில் இருக்கும் நம்முடைய மலக்குகள் (ஒவ்வொன்றையும்) பதிவு செய்துகொண்டே வருகின்றனர்.

அல்லது, அவர்களுடைய இரகசியத்தையும், அவர்கள் தனித்திருந்து கூடிப் பேசுவதையும் நாம் கேட்கவில்லையென்று எண்ணிக் கொண்டார்களா? அல்ல: மேலும் அவர்களிடமுள்ள நம் தூதர்கள் (எல்லாவற்றையும்) எழுதிக் கொள்கிறார்கள்.

அல்லது அவர்களின் இரகசியத்தையும், அவர்களின் இரகசிய ஆலோசனையையும் நிச்சயமாக நாம் செவியேற்பதில்லை என்று அவர்கள் எண்ணிக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றனரா? அல்ல! அவர்களிடதிலிருக்கும் (மலக்குகளாகிய) நம்முடைய தூதர்கள் எழுதிக் கொள்கிறார்கள்.

Do they think that We do not hear their secret talks and private counsels? Yes indeed, and Our angel-messengers are with them recording everything.

Qul in kana lilrrahmani waladun faana awwalu alAAabideena

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "If the Most Gracious (Allâh) had a son (or children as you pretend), then I am the first of (Allâh's) worshippers [who deny and refute this claim of yours (and the first to believe in Allâh Alone and testify that He has no children)]." (Tafsir At-Tabarî)

Say, [O Muhammad], "If the Most Merciful had a son, then I would be the first of [his] worshippers."

"ரஹ்மானுக்கு சந்ததி இருக்கும்பட்சத்தில் (அதனை) வணங்குபவர்களில் நானே முதன்மையானவனாக இருப்பேன்" என்று (நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்.

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்: “அர் ரஹ்மானுக்கு ஒரு சந்ததி இருந்திருக்குமானால், (அதை) வணங்குவோரில் நானே முதன்மையானவனாக இருந்திருப்பேன்!”

“அர்ரஹ்மானுக்கு பிள்ளை இருக்குமானால் (அதனை) வணங்குவோரில் நானே முதன்மையானவன்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக!

Say, “If the Most Compassionate truly had a son, I would be the first of [his] worshipers.”

Subhana rabbi alssamawati waalardi rabbi alAAarshi AAamma yasifoona

Glorified is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of the Throne! Exalted is He from all that they ascribe (to Him).

Exalted is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe.

அர்ஷுடைய இறைவனாகிய அவனே வானங்கள் பூமியின் சொந்தக்காரன். அவன் (இவர்கள் கூறும் பொய்யான) இத்தகைய வர்ணிப்புகளை விட்டும் மிக்க பரிசுத்தமானவன்.

வானங்களுக்கும் பூமிக்கும் இறைவன்; அர்ஷுக்கும் இறைவன். (அத்தகைய இறைவன் அவனுக்கு சந்ததி உண்டென்று) அவர்கள் வர்ணிப்பதை விட்டும் மகா பரிசுத்தமானவன்.

வானங்கள் மற்றும் பூமியின் இரட்சகன், அர்ஷுடைய இரட்சகன் அவர்கள் வர்ணிப்பவற்றை விட்டும் மிக்க தூயவன்.

Glory be to the Lord of the heavens and earth, Lord of the Throne, far above what they ascribe [to Him].

Fatharhum yakhoodoo wayalAAaboo hatta yulaqoo yawmahumu allathee yooAAadoona

So leave them (alone) to speak nonsense and play until they meet the Day of theirs which they have been promised.

So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised.

ஆகவே, (நபியே!) இவர்களுக்கு வாக்களிக்கப்பட்ட (வேதனையின்) நாள் இவர்களைச் சந்திக்கும் வரையில், வீண் தர்க்கத்தில் மூழ்கி விளையாடிக் கொண்டிருக்கும்படி இவர்களை விட்டுவிடுங்கள்.

ஆகையால், அவர்களுக்கு வாக்களிக்கப்பட்ட அவர்களுடைய (வேதனையின்) நாளை அவர்கள் சந்திக்கும் வரை, அவர்களை (வீண் விவாதத்தில்) மூழ்கியிருக்கவும், விளையாட்டில் கழிக்கவும் (நபியே!) நீர் விட்டு விடும்.

ஆகவே, (நபியே!) “இவர்களுக்கு வாக்களிக்கப்பட்ட அந்த (வேதனையின்) நாளை அவர்கள் சந்திக்கும் வரையில், அவர்கள் (வீண் தர்க்கத்தில்) மூழ்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கவும், அவர்கள் விளையாடிக் கொண்டிருக்கவும் அவர்களை நீர் விட்டு விடுவீராக!

So leave them to indulge in falsehood and amuse themselves until they meet their Day that they are promised.

Wahuwa allathee fee alssamai ilahun wafee alardi ilahun wahuwa alhakeemu alAAaleemu

It is He (Allâh) Who is the only Ilâh (God to be worshipped) in the heaven and the only Ilâh (God to be worshipped) on the earth. And He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower.

And it is Allah who is [the only] deity in the heaven, and on the earth [the only] deity. And He is the Wise, the Knowing.

வானத்திலும் அவன்தான் வணக்கத்திற்குரிய இறைவன்; பூமியிலும் அவன்தான் வணக்கத்திற்குரிய இறைவன். (ஈஸா அல்ல.) அவன்தான் மிக்க ஞானமுடையவனும் (அனைத்தையும்) நன்கறிந்த வனுமாக இருக்கின்றான்.

அன்றியும், அவனே வானத்தின் நாயனும் பூமியின் நாயனும் ஆவான்; மேலும், அவனே ஞானம் மிக்கோன்; (யாவற்றையும்) நன்கறிந்தவன்.

வானத்திலும் அவன் தான் (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) நாயன், பூமியிலும் அவன் தான் (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) நாயன், அவனோ தீர்க்கமான அறிவுடையவன், (யாவரையும்) நன்கறிந்தவன்.

It is He Who is God in the heaven and God on earth, and He is the All-Wise, the All-Knowing.

Watabaraka allathee lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma waAAindahu AAilmu alssaAAati wailayhi turjaAAoona

And Blessed is He to Whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, and with Whom is the knowledge of the Hour, and to Whom you (all) will be returned.

And blessed is He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them and with whom is knowledge of the Hour and to whom you will be returned.

வானங்கள், பூமி இவைகளுக்கு மத்தியிலுள்ளவைகள் ஆகியவற்றின் ஆட்சி (ரஹ்மானாகிய) அவனுக்குரியதே. அவன் பெரும் பாக்கியம் உடையவன். அவனிடத்தில்தான் மறுமையின் ஞானம் இருக்கின்றது. அவனிடமே நீங்கள் திரும்ப கொண்டு போகப்படுவீர்கள்.

அவன் பெரும் பாக்கியம் உடையவன்; வானங்கள், பூமி, இவை இரண்டிற்குமிடையே உள்ளவை ஆகியவற்றின் ஆட்சி அவனுக்குடையதே, அவனிடம் தான் (இறுதி) வேளைக்குரிய ஞானமும் இருக்கிறது; மேலும், அவனிடமே நீங்கள் மீட்கப்படுவீர்கள்.

மேலும், வானங்கள் மற்றும் பூமி, இன்னும் இவையிரண்டிற்கு மத்தியிலுள்ளவைகளின் ஆட்சி எவனுக்குரியதோ அத்தகையவன் பெரும் பாக்கியமுடையவன், அவனிடத்தில் தான் மறுமை நாள் பற்றிய அறிவும் இருக்கின்றது, மேலும் அவன் பக்கமே நீங்கள் திரும்பக்கொண்டு போகப்படுவீர்கள்.

Blessed is He to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and earth and all that is between them. With Him is the knowledge of the Hour, and to Him you will be returned.

Wala yamliku allatheena yadAAoona min doonihi alshshafaAAata illa man shahida bialhaqqi wahum yaAAlamoona

And those whom they invoke instead of Him have no power of intercession – except for those who bear witness to the truth knowingly (i.e. believed in the Oneness of Allâh, and obeyed His Orders), and they know (the facts about the Oneness of Allâh).

And those they invoke besides Him do not possess [power of] intercession; but only those who testify to the truth [can benefit], and they know.

அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி எவைகளை இவர்கள் (இறைவனென) அழைக்கின்றார்களோ அவைகள் (இவர்களுக்காக அவனிடத்தில்) பரிந்து பேசவும் சக்தி பெறாது. ஆயினும், எவர்கள் உண்மையை அறிந்து அதனைப் பகிரங்கமாகவும் கூறுகிறார்களோ அவர்களைத் தவிர (அவனுடைய அனுமதி கிடைத்தால் அவனிடம் பரிந்து பேசுவார்கள்.)

அன்றியும், அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி அவர்கள் எவர்களை (தெய்வங்களாக) அழைக்கிறார்களோ, அவர்கள் (அவனிடம் அவர்களுக்குப்) பரிந்து பேச அதிகாரமுள்ளவர்கள் அல்லர். ஆனால் எவர்கள் சத்தியத்தை அறிந்து (ஏற்றவர்காளாக அதற்குச்) சாட்சியம் கூறுகிறார்களோ அவர்கள் (இறை அனுமதி கொண்டு பரிந்து பேசுவர்).

மேலும், (அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) அவனையன்றி இவர்கள் (தெய்வங்களாக) அழைக்கின்றார்களே அத்தகையவர்கள் (இவர்களுக்காக அவனிடத்தில்) பரிந்துரை செய்ய அதிகாரம் உள்ளவர்கள் அல்லர், ஆயினும், அவர்கள் அறிந்தோராக இருக்க சத்தியத்தைக் கொண்டு சாட்சியம் கூறினார்களே, அவர்களைத் தவிர (வேறு எவரும் பரிந்துரை செய்பவர்களல்லர்).

Those whom they supplicate besides Him have no power to intercede, except those who testify to the truth on the basis of knowledge.

Walain saaltahum man khalaqahum layaqoolunna Allahu faanna yufakoona

And if you ask them who created them, they will surely say: "Allâh." How then are they turned away (from the worship of Allâh Who created them)?

And if you asked them who created them, they would surely say, "Allah." So how are they deluded?

(நபியே!) அவர்களை படைத்தவன் யார் என்று நீங்கள் அவர்களிடம் கேட்பீராயின் (ஈஸா அல்ல;) அல்லாஹ்தான் என்று நிச்சயமாகக் கூறுவார்கள். அவ்வாறாயின், (அவனைவிட்டு) இவர்கள் எங்கு வெருண்டோடுகின்றனர்?

மேலும், அவர்களிடம் யார் அவர்களைப் படைத்தது என்று நீர் கேட்டால் “அல்லாஹ்” என்றே அவர்கள் நிச்சயமாக கூறுவார்கள்; அவ்வாறிக்கும் போது (அவனைவிட்டு) அவர்கள் எங்கு திருப்பப்படுகிறார்கள்?

மேலும் (நபியே!) அவர்களைப் படைத்தவன் யார் என்று நீர் அவர்களிடம் கேட்பீராயின், அல்லாஹ் தான் என்று நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் கூறுவார்கள், அவ்வாறாயின், (அவனை விட்டு) அவர்கள் எங்கு திருப்பப்படுகிறார்கள்.

If you ask them who created them, they will surely say, “Allah.” How are they then deluded?

Waqeelihi yarabbi inna haolai qawmun la yuminoona

(And Allâh has the knowledge) of (Prophet Muhammad's ) saying: "O my Lord! Verily, these are a people who believe not!"

And [Allah acknowledges] his saying, "O my Lord, indeed these are a people who do not believe."

"என் இறைவனே! நிச்சயமாக இவர்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளாத மக்கள்" என்று (நபியே! நீங்கள்) கூறுவதும் நமக்குத் தெரியும்.

“என் இறைவா! நிச்சயமாக இவர்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளா சமூகத்தாராக இருக்கிறார்கள்” என்று (நபி) கூறுவதையும் (இறைவன் அறிகிறான்).

“என் இரட்சகனே! நிச்சயமாக இவர்கள் விசுவாசங் கொள்ளாத சமூகத்தாரேயாகும்” என்று அவர்(_நபி) கூறுவதையும் (அவன் அறிகிறான்.)

[The Prophet] said: “O my Lord, indeed, these are a people who do not believe.”

Faisfah AAanhum waqul salamun fasawfa yaAAlamoona

So turn away from them (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]), and say: Salâm (peace)! But they will come to know.

So turn aside from them and say, "Peace." But they are going to know.

ஆகவே, நீங்கள் அவர்களைப் புறக்கணித்துவிட்டு "ஸலாமுன்" (சாந்தி, சமாதானம்) என்று கூறி வாருங்கள். பின்னர் அவர்கள் (இதன் உண்மையை) அறிந்து கொள்வார்கள்.

ஆகவே, நீர் அவர்களைப் புறக்கணித்து “ஸலாமுன்” என்று கூறிவிடும்;

ஆகவே, நீர் அவர்களைப் புறக்கணித்து விட்டு ஸலாமுன் (_சாந்தி) என்று கூறிவிடுவீராக! பின்னர் அவர்கள் (இதன் உண்மையை) அறிந்து கொள்வார்கள்.

So turn away from them and say, “Peace.” They will come to know.
