38 - Sad (Sad) ......

Sad waalqurani thee alththikri

Sâd.[These letters (Sâd, etc.) are one of the miracles of the Qur'ân, and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings.] By the Qur'ân full of reminding (explanations and honour for the one who believes in it).

Sad. By the Qur'an containing reminder...

ஸாத்; நல்லுபதேசங்கள் நிறைந்த இந்தக் குர்ஆனின் மீது சத்தியமாக!

ஸாத். (நல்லுபதேசங்களின்) நினைவுறுத்தலைக் கொண்ட இக்குர்ஆன் மீது சத்தியமாக.

ஸாத் (நல்லுபதேசங்களின்) நினைவுறுத்தலையுடைய இக்குர் ஆனின் மீது சத்தியமாக!

Sād. By the Qur’an, full of reminder,

Bali allatheena kafaroo fee AAizzatin washiqaqin

Nay, those who disbelieve are in false pride and opposition.

But those who disbelieve are in pride and dissension.

(இது நம்மால்தான் அருளப்பட்டது. இதனை) நிராகரிப் பவர்கள் பெரும் குரோதத்திலும் விரோதத்திலும் (மூழ்கி) இருக்கின்றனர்.

ஆனால், நிராகரிப்பவர்களோ பெருமையிலும், மாறுபாட்டிலும் (ஆழ்ந்து) கிடக்கின்றனர்.

ஆனால், நிராகரித்தோர் பெருமையிலும், முரண்பாட்டிலும் (மூழ்கி) இருக்கின்றனர்.

yet those who disbelieve are in arrogance and dissension.

Kam ahlakna min qablihim min qarnin fanadaw walata heena manasin

How many a generation have We destroyed before them! And they cried out when there was no longer time for escape.

How many a generation have We destroyed before them, and they [then] called out; but it was not a time for escape.

இவர்களுக்கு முன்னர், (இவ்வாறு இருந்த) எத்தனையோ வகுப்பாரை நாம் அழித்திருக்கின்றோம். (வேதனை வந்த சமயத்தில்) அவர்கள் எல்லோரும் உதவி தேடிக் கூச்சலிட்டார்கள். அது (வேதனையிலிருந்து) தப்பித்துக் கொள்ளக்கூடிய நேரமாய் இருக்கவில்லை.

இவர்களுக்கு முன்னர் எத்தனையோ தலைமுறைகளை நாம் அழித்திருக்கின்றோம்; அப்போது, அவர்கள் தப்பி ஓட வழியில்லாத நிலையில் (உதவி தேடிக்) கூக்குரலிட்டனர்.

இவர்களுக்கு முன்னர், எத்தனையோ தலைமுறையினரை நாம் அழித்திருகின்றோம், (வேதனை வந்த சமயத்தில்) அவர்கள் (உதவி தேடி) அழைத்தார்கள், (அது வேதனையிலிருந்து) தப்பித்துக்கொள்ளக்கூடிய நேரமாகவும் இருக்கவில்லை.

How many generations We destroyed before them; they cried out when it was too late for deliverance.

WaAAajiboo an jaahum munthirun minhum waqala alkafiroona hatha sahirun kaththabun

And they (Arab pagans) wonder that a warner (Prophet Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) has come to them from among themselves. And the disbelievers say: "This (Prophet Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) is a sorcerer, a liar.

And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves. And the disbelievers say, "This is a magician and a liar.

(அவர்களுக்கு) அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கக்கூடிய ஒரு தூதர், (ஆகிய நீங்கள்) அவர்களி(ன் இனத்தி)லிருந்தே அவர்களிடம் வந்ததைப் பற்றி அவர்கள் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டு, "இவர் மிகப் பொய் சொல்லும் சூனியக்காரர்தான்" என்று (உங்களைப் பற்றி) நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர்.

அன்றியும் தங்களிடமிருந்தே அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிப்பவர் தங்களிடம் வந்ததைப் பற்றி ஆச்சரியமடைந்தனர்; “இவர் ஒரு சூனியக்காரப் பொய்யர்!” என்றும் காஃபிர்கள் கூறினர்.

மேலும் (அவர்களுக்கு) அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிப்பவர் (ஆகிய நீர்) அவர்களி(ன் இனத்தி)லிருந்து அவர்களிடம் வந்ததைப் பற்றி அவர்கள் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டனர்; ”இவர் பெரும் பொய்யரான சூனியக்காரர்” என்றும் (உம்மைப்பற்றி) நிராகரிப்போர் கூறினர்.

They wonder that a warner has come to them from among themselves, and the disbelievers say, “This is a magician and a liar!

AjaAAala alalihata ilahan wahidan inna hatha lashayon AAujabun

"Has he made the âlihah (gods) (all) into One Ilâh (God – Allâh). Verily, this is a curious thing!"

Has he made the gods [only] one God? Indeed, this is a curious thing."

"என்ன! இவர் (நம்) தெய்வங்கள் அனைத்தையும் (பொய்யெனக் கூறி, வணக்கத்திற்குரியவன்) ஒரே இறைவன்தான் என்று ஆக்கிவிட்டாரா? மெய்யாகவே, இது ஓர் ஆச்சரியமான விஷயம்தான்" (என்று கூறி,)

“இவர் (எல்லாத்) தெய்வங்களையும் ஒரே நாயனாக ஆக்கிவிட்டாரா? நிச்சயமாக இது ஓர் ஆச்சரியமான விஷயமே! (என்றும் கூறினர்).

(என்ன!) இவர் (நம்முடைய வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) தெய்வங்களை (நிராகரித்து விட்டு) ஒரே ஒரு வணக்கதிற்குரியவனாக ஆக்கிவிட்டாரா? நிச்சயமாக இது ஓர் ஆச்சரியமான விஷயம்தான்” (என்றும் கூறினர்).

Has he made all gods into one God? Indeed, this is something strange!”

Waintalaqa almalao minhum ani imshoo waisbiroo AAala alihatikum inna hatha lashayon yuradu

And the leaders among them went about (saying): "Go on, and remain constant to your âlihah (gods)! Verily, this is a thing designed (against you)!

And the eminent among them went forth, [saying], "Continue, and be patient over [the defense of] your gods. Indeed, this is a thing intended.

அவர்களிலுள்ள தலைவர்கள் (மற்றவர்களை நோக்கி, "இவரைவிட்டு) நீங்கள் சென்றுவிடுங்கள். உங்கள் தெய்வங்களை ஆராதனை செய்வதில் நீங்கள் உறுதியாயிருங்கள். (உங்கள் தெய்வங்களைக் கைவிடும்படி கூறும்) இவ்விஷயத்தில் ஏதோ (சுயநலந்தான்) கருதப்படுகின்றது" என்று கூறிக்கொண்டே சென்று விட்டனர்.

“(இவரை விட்டும் விலகிச்) செல்லுங்கள். உங்கள் தெய்வங்களை உறுதியுடன் பற்றிக் கொள்ளுங்கள். நிச்சயமாக இதில் (இவரது பிரச்சாரத்தில்) ஏதோ (சுயநலம்) நாடப்படுகிறது” என்று அவர்களின் தலைவர்கள் (கூறிச்) சென்றனர்.

அவர்களிலுள்ள தலைவர்கள், (மற்றவர்களிடம், “இவரை விட்டு உங்கள் வழியில்) நீங்கள் சென்றுவிடுங்கள், இன்னும், உங்கள் தெய்வங்களின் மீது நீங்கள் (உறுதியுடன்) பொறுமையாக இருங்கள். நிச்சயமாக, (உங்கள் தெய்வங்களைக் கைவிடும்படி கூறும்) இ(க் கூற்றான)து ஏதோ ஒன்றை (சுயநலத்தை கருத்தில் கொண்டு) நாடப்பட்டதாக உள்ளது” என்று (கூறிக்கொண்டே) சென்றுவிட்டனர்.

The leaders among them departed, saying, “Carry on as you are, and stay faithful to your gods. Indeed, there is a motive behind it.

Ma samiAAna bihatha fee almillati alakhirati in hatha illa ikhtilaqun

"We have not heard (the like) of this in the religion of these later days (i.e. Christianity). This is nothing but an invention! (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi)

We have not heard of this in the latest religion. This is not but a fabrication.

"முன்னுள்ள வகுப்பார்களிலும், இதனை நாம் கேள்விப்பட்டதில்லை. இது (இவரால்) புனையப்பட்டதே அன்றி வேறில்லை" என்றும்,

“வேறு (எந்த) சமுதாயத்திலும் நாம் இது (போன்று) கேள்விப்பட்டதில்லை; இது (இவருடைய) கற்பனையேயன்றி வேறில்லை (என்றும்).

“கடைசிமார்க்க(மான கிறிஸ்தவ மத)த்திலும் இது பற்றி நாம் கேள்விப்பட்டதில்லை, இது (இவரால் உண்டாக்கப்பட்ட) பொய்யைத் தவிர வேறில்லை” (என்றும்),

We have not heard of this in the last religion. This is nothing but a fabrication.

Aonzila AAalayhi alththikru min baynina bal hum fee shakkin min thikree bal lamma yathooqoo AAathabi

"Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?" Nay, but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Qur'ân)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) torment!

Has the message been revealed to him out of [all of] us?" Rather, they are in doubt about My message. Rather, they have not yet tasted My punishment.

"நம்மைவிட்டு இவர் பேரில் மட்டும்தானா (வேத) உபதேசம் இறக்கப்பட்டுவிட்டது" என்றும் (கூறினார்கள்). அவ்வாறன்று. உண்மையில் இவர்கள் நம்முடைய எச்சரிக்கையைப் பற்றியே பெரும் சந்தேகத்தில் இருக்கின்றனர். அன்றி, இதுவரையில் அவர்கள் நம்முடைய வேதனையைச் சுவைத்துப் பார்க்கவே இல்லை.

“நம்மில், இவர் பேரில்தான் நினைவுறுத்தும் நல்லுபதேசம் இறக்கப்பட்டு விட்டதோ?” (என்றும் கூறுகிறார்கள்.) அவ்வாறல்ல! அவர்கள் எனது போதனையில் சந்தேகத்தில் இருக்கின்றனர்; அவ்வாறல்ல! இன்னும் அவர்கள் என் வேதனையை அனுபவித்ததில்லை.

“நம்மவர்களுக்கிடையில் இவர் மீது (வேத) உபதேசம் இறக்கப்பட்டுவிட்டதா” (என்றும் கூறினார்கள்.) அவ்வாறன்று! உண்மையில் இவர்கள் என்னுடைய (வேத) உபதேசத்தைப் பற்றி சந்தேகத்திலிருகின்றனர். இல்லை, இதுவரையில் அவர்கள் என்னுடைய வேதனையைச் சுவைத்(துப்பார்த்)ததில்லை.

Has the Reminder been sent down to him from among us?” Rather, they are in doubt about My Reminder, for they have not yet tasted My punishment.

Am AAindahum khazainu rahmati rabbika alAAazeezi alwahhabi

Or have they the treasures of the Mercy of your Lord, the All-Mighty, the Real Bestower?

Or do they have the depositories of the mercy of your Lord, the Exalted in Might, the Bestower?

(வேத உபதேசம் தங்கள் மீது இறங்க வேண்டுமென்று இவர்கள் கூறுவதற்கு) அனைவரையும் மிகைத்த பெரும் கொடையாளியாகிய, உங்களது இறைவனின் அருள் பொக்கிஷம் அவர்களிடம்தான் இருக்கின்றதா?

அல்லது, யாவரையும் மிகைத்தவனும் மிகப்பெருங் கொடையாளியுமாகிய உமது இறைவனின் கிருபைக் கருவூலங்கள் - அவர்களிடம் இருக்கின்றனவா,

அல்லது (யாவரையும்) மிகைத்த, பெருங்கொடையாளனாகிய உமதிரட்சகனின் அருள் பொக்கிஷங்கள் அவர்களிடம் இருக்கின்றனவா?

Or do they possess the treasuries of the mercy of your Lord, the All-Mighty, the Bestower?

Am lahum mulku alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma falyartaqoo fee alasbabi

Or is it that the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them is theirs? If so, let them ascend up with means (to the heavens)!

Or is theirs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend through [any] ways of access.

அல்லது வானங்கள், பூமி, இன்னும் இவற்றின் மத்தியில் உள்ளவைகளின் ஆட்சி அவர்களுக்கு உரியதுதானா? அவ்வாறாயின், (இறைவனுடன் போர் புரிவதற்காக) ஏணி வைத்து மேலேறவும்.

அல்லது வானங்களுடையவும், பூமியினுடையவும் அவ்விரண்டிற்கும் இடையேயும் இருப்பவற்றின் மீதுள்ள ஆட்சி அவர்களிடம் இருக்கிறதா? அவ்வாறாயின் அவர்கள் (ஏணி போன்ற) சாதனங்களில் ஏறிச் செல்லட்டும்.

அல்லது வானங்கள் மற்றும் பூமி, இன்னும் இவ்விரண்டிற்கு மத்தியிலுள்ளவற்றின் ஆட்சி அவர்களுக்கு இருக்கிறதா? அவ்வாறாயின், (வானங்களின்) வழிகளில் (ஏறும் சாதனங்கள் மூலம்) அவர்கள் ஏரிச்செல்லட்டும்.

Or do they have the dominion of the heavens and earth and all that is between them? Then let them ascend by any means.

Jundun ma hunalika mahzoomun mina alahzabi

(As they denied Allâh's Message) they will be a defeated host like the Confederates of the old times (who were defeated).

[They are but] soldiers [who will be] defeated there among the companies [of disbelievers].

(கேவலம்!) இங்கிருக்கும் இவர்களுடைய கூட்டத்தினர் (எம்மாத்திரம்?) மற்ற கூட்டத்தினர்களைப் போலவே இவர்களும் முறியடிக்கப்படுவார்கள்.

ஆனால் இங்கிருக்கும் படையினரும் (முன் தலைமுறைகளில்) முறியடிக்கப்பட்ட ஏனைய கூட்டங்களைப் போலவே ஆவார்கள்.

(முன்சென்ற நபிமார்களைப் பொய்யாக்கிய) கூட்டதார்களில், இங்கிருப்பவர்கள் தோற்கடிக்கப்படும் ஓர் அற்பப்படை,

This is only a small army among several armies that will soon be defeated.

Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohin waAAadun wafirAAawnu thoo alawtadi

Before them (were many who) denied (Messengers) – the people of Nûh (Noah); and 'آd; and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) the man of stakes (with which he used to punish the people),

The people of Noah denied before them, and [the tribe of] 'Aad and Pharaoh, the owner of stakes,

(இவ்வாறே) இவர்களுக்கு முன்னர் இருந்த நூஹ்வுடைய மக்களும், "ஆத்" என்னும் மக்களும், பெரும் படையுடைய ஃபிர்அவ்னும், (நம்முடைய தூதர்களைப்) பொய்யாக்கினார்கள்.

(இவ்வாறு) இவர்களுக்கு முன் இருந்த நூஹுடைய சமூகத்தாரும், ஆது(சமூகத்தாரு)ம், முளைகளுடைய ஃபிர்அவ்னும் நம் தூதர்களைப் பொய்ப்பித்தனர்.

(இவ்வாறே) இவர்களுக்கு முன்னர் (இருந்த) நூஹ்வுடைய சமூகத்தாரும், ஆது (சமூகத்தாரு)ம், முளைகளுடைய(_பெரும் படைகளுடைய) ஃபிர் அவ்னும் (நம்முடைய தூதர்களைப்) பொய்யாக்கினார்கள்.

Before them, the people of Noah, ‘Ād, and mighty Pharaoh rejected [their prophets];

Wathamoodu waqawmu lootin waashabu alaykati olaika alahzabu

And Thamûd, and the people of Lût (Lot), and the dwellers of the Wood; such were the Confederates.

And [the tribe of] Thamud and the people of Lot and the companions of the thicket. Those are the companies.

அவ்வாறே "ஸமூத்" என்னும் மக்களும், லூத்துடைய மக்களும், (மத்யன்) தோப்புவாசிகளும் (பொய்யாக்கினார்கள்). இவர்கள்தாம் (முறியடிக்கப்பட்ட) அந்தக் கூட்டத்தினர்கள்.

(இவ்வாறு) “ஸமூது”ம் லூத்துடைய சமூகத்தவரும், (மத்யன்) தோப்பு வாசிகளும் (பொய்யாக்கினார்கள்); இவர்கள் (எல்லோரும் முன் தலைமுறைகளில் முறியடிக்கப்பட்ட) கூட்டத்தினர் ஆவார்கள்.

(அவ்வாறே) ஸமூதும், லூத்துடைய சமூகத்தாரும், (மத்யன்) தோப்புவாசிகளும் (பொய்யாக்கினார்கள்). இவர்கள் தாம் (முறியடிக்கப்பட்ட) அக்கூட்டதினர்கள் ஆவார்கள்.

and Thamūd and the people of Lot, and the dwellers of the Forest – such were the [denier] parties.

In kullun illa kaththaba alrrusula fahaqqa AAiqabi

Not one of them but denied the Messengers; therefore My torment was justified.

Each of them denied the messengers, so My penalty was justified.

இவர்கள் ஒவ்வொரு கூட்டத்தினரும் தூதர்களைப் பொய்யாக்காமல் இருந்ததில்லை. (ஆகவே, அவர்களை) வேதனை செய்வது நியாயமாயிற்று.

இவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும் (நம்) தூதர்களைப் பொய்ப்பிக்க முற்படாமல் இல்லை; எனவே என்னுடைய தண்டனை (அவர்கள் மீது) உறுதியாயிற்று.  

இவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும் (நம்முடைய) தூதர்களைப் பொய்யாக்கியே தவிர இருக்கவில்லை, ஆகவே, (அவர்களுக்கு) என்னுடைய தண்டனை நிச்சயமாகிவிட்டது.

Each of them rejected their messenger, therefore My punishment became inevitable.

Wama yanthuru haolai illa sayhatan wahidatan ma laha min fawaqin

And these only wait for a single Saihah [shout (i.e. the blowing of the Trumpet by the angel Isrâfîl)] there will be no pause or ending thereto [till everything will perish except Allâh (the only God full of majesty, bounty and honour)].

And these [disbelievers] await not but one blast [of the Horn]; for it there will be no delay.

ஆகவே, (அரபிகளாகிய) இவர்களும் (தங்களை அழிக்கக் கூடிய) ஒரே ஒரு சப்தத்தைத் தவிர (வேறெதனை) எதிர்பார்க் கின்றனர். (அது வரும் சமயம்) அதனைத் தாமதப்படுத்தவும் வழி இருக்காது.

இன்னும் இவர்களும் ஒரே ஒரு பேரொளியைத் தவிர (வேறெதனையும்) எதிர் பார்க்கவில்லை. அதில் தாமதமும் இராது.

மேலும், இவர்கள் ஒரே ஒரு சப்தத்தைப் தவிர (வேறெதனையும்) எதிர்பார்க்கவில்லை, அ(துவருவ)தில் தாமதமும் இராது.

They are only waiting for a single Blast that cannot be stopped.

Waqaloo rabbana AAajjil lana qittana qabla yawmi alhisabi

They say: "Our Lord! Hasten to us Qittanâ (i.e. our Record of good and bad deeds so that we may see it) before the Day of Reckoning!"

And they say, "Our Lord, hasten for us our share [of the punishment] before the Day of Account"

இவர்கள், கேள்வி கணக்குக் கேட்கும் நாள் வருவதற்கு முன்னதாகவே, "எங்கள் இறைவனே! எங்களுடைய (வேதனையின்) பாகத்தை எங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்துத் தீர்த்துவிடு!" என்று (பரிகாசமாகக்) கேட்கின்றார்கள்.

“எங்கள் இறைவா! கேள்வி கணக்குக் கேட்கப்படும் நாளுக்கு முன்னரே, எங்கள் (வேதனையின்) பாகத்தை துரிதப்படுத்தி(க் கொடுத்து) விடுவாயாக” என்றும் (ஏளனமாகக்) கூறுகின்றனர்.

மேலும், “எங்கள் இரட்சகனே! (கேள்வி) கணக்குடைய நாளைக்கு முன்னதாகவே, எங்களுடைய (வேதனையின்) பங்கை எங்களுக்குத் துரிதப் படுத்திவிடுவாயாக!” என்று இவர்கள் (பரிகாசமாகக்) கேட்கின்றார்கள்.

They say, “Our Lord, hasten for us our share [of punishment] before the Day of Reckoning.”

Isbir AAala ma yaqooloona waothkur AAabdana dawooda tha alaydi innahu awwabun

Be patient (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) of what they say, and remember Our slave Dâwûd (David), endued with power. Verily, he was ever oft-returning in all matters and in repentance (towards Allâh).

Be patient over what they say and remember Our servant, David, the possessor of strength; indeed, he was one who repeatedly turned back [to Allah].

(நபியே!) இவர்கள் கூறுவதைப் பற்றிப் பொறுமையாக சகித்துக்கொண்டு இருங்கள். அன்றி, மிக பலசாலியாகிய நமது அடியார் தாவூதை நினைத்துப் பாருங்கள். நிச்சயமாக அவர் (எத்தகைய கஷ்டத்திலும்) நம்மையே நோக்கி நின்றார்.

இவர்கள் கூறுவதைப்பற்றிப் பொறுமையுடன் இருப்பீராக! இன்னும், வல்லமையுள்ள நம் அடியார் தாவூதையும் நினைவு கொள்வீராக! நிச்சயமாக அவர் (எந்நிலையிலும் நம்மையே) நோக்குபவராக இருந்தார்.

(நபியே!) அவர்கள் கூறுவதின் மீது நீர் பொறுமையாக இருப்பீராக! அன்றியும், மிக்க பலசாலியாகிய நமது அடியார் தாவூதை நினைவு கூர்வீராக! நிச்சயமாக அவர் (நம் பக்கமே) மிகுதியாகத் திரும்பக்கூடியவராக இருந்தார்.

Bear with patience whatever they say, and remember Our slave David, the man of strength who constantly turned [to Allah].

Inna sakhkharna aljibala maAAahu yusabbihna bialAAashiyyi waalishraqi

Verily, We made the mountains to glorify Our Praises with him [Dâwûd (David)] in the 'Ashî (i.e. after the mid-day till sunset) and Ishrâq (i.e. after the sunrise till mid-day).

Indeed, We subjected the mountains [to praise] with him, exalting [Allah] in the [late] afternoon and [after] sunrise.

நிச்சயமாக நாம் மலைகளை அவருக்கு வசப்படுத்தித் தந்தோம். காலையிலும், மாலையிலும் அவை அவருடன் சேர்ந்து துதி செய்து கொண்டிருந்தன.

நிச்சயமாக நாம் மலைகளை அவருக்கு வசப்படுத்திக் கொடுத்தோம்; மாலை வேளையிலும், காலை வேளையிலும் அவை அவருடன் சேர்ந்து (நம்மைத் துதித்து) தஸ்பீஹு செய்தன.

நிச்சயமாக, மலைகளை நாம் அவருக்கு வசப்படுத்தித் தந்தோம், அவை அவருடன் சேர்ந்து மாலையிலும், காலையிலும் துதித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தன.

We subjected the mountains to join him in glorifying Allah in the evening and the morning,

Waalttayra mahshooratan kullun lahu awwabun

And (so did) the birds assembled, all obedient to him [Dâwûd (David)] [i.e. they came and glorified Allâh's Praises along with him]. (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi)

And the birds were assembled, all with him repeating [praises].

பறவைகளின் கூட்டத்தையும், (நாம் அவருக்கு வசப்படுத்தித் தந்தோம்.) அவை, அவருடைய சப்தத்தைப் பின்பற்றி அவரை சூழ்ந்து (அவ்வாறே) சப்தமிட்டன.

மேலும் பறவைகளை ஒன்று திரட்டி (நாம் வசப்படுத்திக் கொடுத்தோம்) அனைத்தும் அவனையே நோக்குபவையாக இருந்தன.

இன்னும், தடுக்கப்பட்டவையாக இருக்கும் நிலையில் பறவைகளையும் (அவருக்கு நாம் வசப்படுத்திக் கொடுத்தோம்.) அவை ஒவ்வொன்றும் (அவருடன் அல்லாஹ்வைத் துதிசெய்து அவனுக்கு வழிப்படுவதின் மூலம்) அவனின் பக்கம் திரும்பக்கூடியவையாக இருந்தன.

and the birds, in their flocks; they all would echo his praise.

Washadadna mulkahu waataynahu alhikmata wafasla alkhitabi

We made his kingdom strong and gave him Al-Hikmah (Prophethood) and sound judgement in speech and decision.

And We strengthened his kingdom and gave him wisdom and discernment in speech.

அவருடைய ஆட்சியை நாம் பலப்படுத்தி, அவருக்கு ஞானத்தையும் பிரச்சனைகளைத் தீர்க்கும் சக்தியையும் கொடுத்தோம்.

மேலும், நாம் அவருடைய அரசாங்கத்தையும் வலுப்படுத்தினோம்; இன்னும் அவருக்கு ஞானத்தையும், தெளிவான சொல்லாற்றலையும் அளித்தோம்.

இன்னும், அவருடைய ஆட்சியை நாம் வலுப்படுத்தினோம், அவருக்கு (ஆழ்ந்து சிந்தித்து செயல்படும் உறுதியான) அறிவையும், (விவகாரங்களைத் தீர்க்கும்) தெளிவான விளக்கத்தையும் கொடுத்தோம்.

We strengthened his kingdom, and gave him wisdom and sound judgment [and speech].

Wahal ataka nabao alkhasmi ith tasawwaroo almihraba

And has the news of the litigants reached you? When they climbed over the wall into (his) Mihrâb (a praying place or a private room);

And has there come to you the news of the adversaries, when they climbed over the wall of [his] prayer chamber -

(நபியே!) அந்த வழக்காளிகளின் செய்தி உங்களுக்குக் கிடைத்திருக்கின்றதா? அவர்கள் (அவர் வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்த) மடத்து அறையின் சுவற்றைத் தாண்டி, (வந்து)

அந்த வழக்காளிகளின் செய்தி உமக்கு வந்ததா? அவர்கள் (தாவூது இறைவணக்கத்திற்காக அமைந்திருந்த) மிஹ்ராபின் சுவரைத் தாண்டி -

(நபியே!) அந்த வழக்காளிகளின் செய்தி உமக்கு வந்திருக்கிறதா? (அவர் வணங்கிக்கொண்டிருந்த) தொழுமிடத்தின் சுவரை அவர்கள் தாண்டிய சமயம்_

Has there come to you the story of the adversaries, when they climbed the wall of his chamber?

Ith dakhaloo AAala dawooda fafaziAAa minhum qaloo la takhaf khasmani bagha baAAduna AAala baAAdin faohkum baynana bialhaqqi wala tushtit waihdina ila sawai alssirati

When they entered in upon Dâwûd (David), he was terrified of them. They said: "Fear not! (We are) two litigants, one of whom has wronged the other, therefore judge between us with truth, and treat us not with injustice, and guide us to the Right Way.

When they entered upon David and he was alarmed by them? They said, "Fear not. [We are] two adversaries, one of whom has wronged the other, so judge between us with truth and do not exceed [it] and guide us to the sound path.

தாவூதிடம் நுழைந்தபோது, அவர் அவர்களைப் பற்றி(ப் பயந்து) திடுக்கமுற்றார். அதற்கவர்கள் "(தாவூதே!) நீங்கள் பயப்படாதீர்கள். (நாங்கள் இருவரும்) இரு கட்சிக்காரர்கள். எங்களில் ஒருவர் மற்றொருவர் மீது அநியாயம் செய்திருக்கின்றார். எங்களுக்கிடையில் நீங்கள் நீதமாகத் தீர்ப்பளியுங்கள்.அதில் தவறிழைத்து விடாதீர்கள். எங்களை நேரான வழியில் செலுத்துங்கள்.

தாவூதிடம் நுழைந்த போது அவர்; அவர்களைக் கண்டு திடுக்குற்றார்; அப்போது அவர்கள் கூறினார்கள்; “பயப்படாதீர்! நாங்களிருவரும் வழக்காளிகள்; எங்களில் ஒருவர் மற்றவர் மீது அநீதம் செய்திருக்கிறார்; எங்களிருவருக்கிடையில் நீதத்தைக் கொண்டு தீர்ப்பளிப்பீராக! (அதில்) தவறிழைத்து விடாதீர்! எங்களைச் செவ்வையான பாதைக்கு நேர்வழி காட்டுவீராக!”

தாவூதிடம் அவர்கள் நுழைந்த போது அவர், அவர்களைப்பற்றி திடுக்கமுற்றார். அ(தற்க)வர்கள் (“தாவூதே!) நீர் பயப்படாதீர், (நாங்களிருவரும்) இரு வழக்காளிகள், எங்களில் சிலர் சிலரின் மீது அநியாயம் செய்திருக்கின்றனர், ஆகவே, எங்களுக்கிடையில் உண்மையைக் கொண்டு நீர் தீர்ப்பளிப்பீராக! (அதில்) தவறிழைத்தும் விடாதீர், எங்களை நேரான வழியிலும் செலுத்துவீராக!” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

When they entered upon David, he was frightened. They said, “Do not be afraid. We are two adversaries: one of us has wronged the other, so judge between us with fairness, and do not be unjust, and guide us to the straight path.

Inna hatha akhee lahu tisAAun watisAAoona naAAjatan waliya naAAjatun wahidatun faqala akfilneeha waAAazzanee fee alkhitabi

Verily, this my brother (in religion) has ninety-nine ewes, while I have (only) one ewe, and he says: "Hand it over to me, and he overpowered me in speech."

Indeed this, my brother, has ninety-nine ewes, and I have one ewe; so he said, 'Entrust her to me,' and he overpowered me in speech."

இவர் என்னுடைய சகோதரர். அவருக்கு தொண்ணூற்றி ஒன்பது ஆடுகள் இருக்கின்றன. என்னிடம் ஒரே ஒரு ஆடுதான் இருக்கின்றது. (அவ்வாறிருந்தும்) அவர் அதனையும் (தனக்குக்) கொடுத்துவிட வேண்டும் என்று கூறித் தர்க்க வாதத்தில் அவர் என்னை ஜெயித்துக் கொண்டார்" என்று கூறினார்.

(அவர்களில் ஒருவர் கூறினார்:) “நிச்சயமாக இவர் என்னுடைய சகோதரர்; இவரிடம் தொண்ணூற்றொன்பது ஆடுகள் இருக்கின்றன; ஆனால் என்னிடம் ஒரே ஓர் ஆடுதான் இருக்கிறது; அவர் அதனையும் தனக்குக் கொடுத்துவிட வேண்டுமெனச் சொல்லி, வாதத்தில் என்னை மிகைத்து விட்டார்.”

“நிச்சயமாக இவர், என்னுடைய சகோதரர், இவருக்கு தொண்ணூற்றொன்பது பெண் ஆடுகள் இருக்கின்றன, எனக்கு ஒரே ஒரு பெண் ஆடு தான் இருக்கிறது, பின்னர் அவர், “அதனை என் பொறுப்பில் ஆக்கி (எனக்கு கொடுத்து) விடு” என்று கூறி, வாதத்தில் அவர் என்னை மிகைத்தும் விட்டார்“ (என்று கூறினார்).

This is my brother. He has ninety-nine ewes while I have only one. He said, ‘Give her into my charge,’ and he overpowered me in speech.”

Qala laqad thalamaka bisuali naAAjatika ila niAAajihi wainna katheeran mina alkhulatai layabghee baAAduhum AAala baAAdin illa allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati waqaleelun ma hum wathanna dawoodu annama fatannahu faistaghfara rabbahu wakharra rakiAAan waanaba

[Dâwûd (David)] said (immediately without listening to the opponent): "He has wronged you in demanding your ewe in addition to his ewes. And, verily, many partners oppress one another, except those who believe and do righteous good deeds, and they are few." And Dâwûd (David) guessed that We have tried him and he sought forgiveness of his Lord, and he fell down prostrate and turned (to Allâh) in repentance.

[David] said, "He has certainly wronged you in demanding your ewe [in addition] to his ewes. And indeed, many associates oppress one another, except for those who believe and do righteous deeds - and few are they." And David became certain that We had tried him, and he asked forgiveness of his Lord and fell down bowing [in prostration] and turned in repentance [to Allah].

அதற்கு தாவூத், "உன்னுடைய ஆட்டை, அவர் தன்னுடைய ஆடுகளுடன் சேர்த்து விடும்படி கேட்பது நிச்சயமாக அவர் உங்கள் மீது செய்யும் அநியாயமாகும். கூட்டாளிகளில் பெரும் பாலானவர்கள், ஒருவர் ஒருவரை மோசம் செய்து விடுகின்றனர்; நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு நற்செயல் செய்கிறவர்களைத் தவிர, (நம்பிக்கையாளர்கள் அவ்வாறு செய்வதில்லை. மோசம் செய்யாத) இத்தகையவர்கள் வெகு சிலரே!" என்று கூறினார். இதற்குள் நிச்சயமாக நாம் தாவூதை சோதனைக்குள்ளாக்கி விட்டோம் என்று தாவூத் எண்ணி, தன் இறைவனிடம் தன் குற்றத்தை மன்னிக்கும்படி கோரி, சிரம் பணிந்து வணங்கி தன் இறைவனை நோக்கி பிரார்த்தனை செய்தார்.

(அதற்கு தாவூது:) “உம்முடைய ஆட்டை அவர் தம்முடைய ஆடுகளுடன் சேர்த்து விடும்படிக் கேட்டது கொண்டு நிச்சயமாக அவர் உம்மீது அநியாயம் செய்து விட்டார்; நிச்சயமாகக் கூட்டாளிகளில் பெரும்பாலோர் - அவர்களில் சிலர் சிலரை மோசம் செய்து விடுகின்றனர்; ஈமான் கொண்டு (ஸாலிஹான) நல்லமல்கள் செய்பவர்களைத் தவிர; இத்தகையவர் சிலரே” என்று கூறினார்; இதற்குள்: “நிச்சயமாக நாமே அவரைச் சோதித்து விட்டோம்” என்று தாவூது எண்ணித் தம்முடைய இறைவனிடம் மன்னிப்பு கோரிக் குனிந்து விழுந்தவராக இறைவனை நோக்கினார்.

(அதற்கு தாவூத்) “உம்முடைய பெண் ஆட்டை அவர் தன்னுடைய பெண் ஆடுகளுடன் சேர்த்துவிடுமாறு கேட்டதனால், நிச்சயமாக அவர் உமக்கு அநியாயமிழைத்து விட்டார்; இன்னும் நிச்சயமாகக் கூட்டாளிகளில் பெரும்பாலோர், அவர்களில் சிலர் மற்ற சிலரின் மீது வரம்பு மீறிவிடுகின்றனர், விசுவாசங் கொண்டு நற்கருமங்களையும் செய்தார்களே அத்தகையோர்களைத் தவிர, இவர்கள் குறைந்தவர்களே” என்று கூறினார், (இதற்குள்) தாவூத் நிச்சயமாக நாமே (அவர் தீர்ப்பு செய்யும் திறன் படைத்தவரா? என) அவரைச் சோதனைக்குள்ளாக்கிவிட்டோம் என்று எண்ணினார், ஆகவே, தன் இரட்சகனிடம் மன்னிப்புத் தேடி, குனிந்தவராக (ஸஜ்தாவில்) விழுந்தார், மேலும், (அல்லாஹ்வின் பால் தவ்பா செய்து) மீண்டார்.

David said, “He has certainly wronged you by demanding that your ewe be added to his flock. Indeed, many partners oppress one another, except those who believe and do righteous deeds – and how few they are.” Then David realized that We were only testing him, so he asked his Lord for forgiveness, fell down bowing, and turned to Him in repentance.

Faghafarna lahu thalika wainna lahu AAindana lazulfa wahusna maabin

So, We forgave him that, and verily, for him is a near access to Us, and a good place of (final) return (Paradise).

So We forgave him that; and indeed, for him is nearness to Us and a good place of return.

ஆதலால், நாம் அவருடைய குற்றத்தை மன்னித்து விட்டோம். நிச்சயமாக அவருக்கு நம்மிடத்தில் மிக நெருங்கிய பெரும் பதவியும் அழகான இருப்பிடமும் உண்டு.

ஆகவே, நாம் அவருக்கு அ(க் குற்றத்)தை மன்னித்தோம்; அன்றியும், நிச்சயமாக அவருக்கு நம்மிடத்தில் நெருங்கிய (அந்தஸ்)தும், அழகிய இருப்பிடமும் உண்டு.

எனவே, (தாம் குற்றம் இழைத்துவிட்டதாக) அ(வர் கருதிய)தை அவருக்கு நாம் மன்னித்துவிட்டோம், நிச்சயமாக அவருக்கு, நம்மிடத்தில் (மிக்க) நெருக்கமும், அழகான இருப்பிடமும் உண்டு.

So We forgave that for him, and he certainly has a place of nearness to Us and a good place of return.

Ya dawoodu inna jaAAalnaka khaleefatan fee alardi faohkum bayna alnnasi bialhaqqi wala tattabiAAi alhawa fayudillaka AAan sabeeli Allahi inna allatheena yadilloona AAan sabeeli Allahi lahum AAathabun shadeedun bima nasoo yawma alhisabi

O Dâwûd (David)! Verily, We have placed you as a successor on the earth; so judge you between men in truth (and justice) and follow not your desire – for it will mislead you from the path of Allâh. Verily, those who wander astray from the path of Allâh (shall) have a severe torment, because they forgot the Day of Reckoning.

[We said], "O David, indeed We have made you a successor upon the earth, so judge between the people in truth and do not follow [your own] desire, as it will lead you astray from the way of Allah." Indeed, those who go astray from the way of Allah will have a severe punishment for having forgotten the Day of Account.

ஆதலால், (நாம் அவரை நோக்கி) "தாவூதே! நிச்சயமாக நாம் உங்களைப் பூமியில் (நம்முடைய) பிரதிநிதியாக ஆக்கினோம். ஆதலால், நீங்கள் மனிதர்களுக்கிடையில், நியாயமாகத் தீர்ப்பு கூறுங்கள். சரீர இச்சையைப் பின்பற்றாதீர்கள். பின்பற்றினால், அது உங்களை அல்லாஹ்வுடைய பாதையிலிருந்தும் தவறிவிடும்படி செய்யும். எவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையிலிருந்து தவறு கின்றார்களோ அவர்கள் கேள்வி கணக்குக் கேட்கும் நாளை மறந்து விடுவார்கள். அதன் காரணமாக, அவர்களுக்கு நிச்சயமாக கடினமான வேதனையுண்டு" என்று கூறினோம்.

(நாம் அவரிடம் கூறினோம்:) “தாவூதே! நிச்சயமாக நாம் உம்மை பூமியில் பின்தோன்றலாக ஆக்கினோம்; ஆகவே மனிதர்களிடையே சத்தியத்தைக் கொண்டு (நீதமாக)த் தீர்ப்புச் செய்யும்; அன்றியும், மனோ இச்சையைப் பின் பற்றாதீர்; (ஏனெனில் அது) உம்மை அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையை விட்டும் வழி கெடுத்து விடும். நிச்சயமாக எவர் அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையை விட்டு வழிகெடுக்கிறாரோ, அவர்களுக்குக் கேள்வி கணக்குக் கேட்கப்படும் நாளை மறந்து விட்டமைக்காக மிகக்கொடிய வேதனையுண்டு.  

“தாவூதே! நிச்சயமாக நாம், உம்மை பூமியில் பிரதிநிதியாக ஆக்கினோம், ஆகவே நீர் மனிதர்களுக்கிடையில், சத்தியத்தைக் கொண்டுத் தீர்ப்புச் செய்வீராக! மனோ இச்சையைப் பின்பற்றவேண்டாம். (பின்பற்றினால்,) அது உம்மை அல்லாஹ்வுடைய பாதையைவிட்டும் வழிதவறச் செய்துவிடும், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையைவிட்டு வழி தவறி விடுகின்றார்களே அத்தகையவர்கள்_ (கேள்வி) கணக்கு (க்கேட்கும்) நாளை அவர்கள் மறந்து விட்டதன் காரணமாக, அவர்களுக்குக் கடினமான வேதனை உண்டு” (என்று கூறினோம்).

“O David, We have made you a ruler on earth, so judge between people with justice, and do not follow your desires lest they lead you astray from Allah’s way. Those who go astray from Allah’s way will have a severe punishment because of their forgetting the Day of Reckoning.”

Wama khalaqna alssamaa waalarda wama baynahuma batilan thalika thannu allatheena kafaroo fawaylun lillatheena kafaroo mina alnnari

And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them without purpose! That is the consideration of those who disbelieve! Then woe to those who disbelieve (in Islâmic Monotheism) from the Fire!

And We did not create the heaven and the earth and that between them aimlessly. That is the assumption of those who disbelieve, so woe to those who disbelieve from the Fire.

வானங்களையும், பூமியையும், இவைகளுக்கு மத்தியில் உள்ளவைகளையும் வீணுக்காக நாம் படைக்கவில்லை. இது (வீணென்பது) நிராகரிப்பவர்களின் எண்ணமேயாகும். நிராகரிக்கும் இவர்களுக்குக் கேடுதான்; இவர்களுக்கு நரகமே கிடைக்கும்.

மேலும், வானத்தையும், பூமியையும், இவ்விரண்டிற்குமிடையே உள்ளவற்றையும் வீணுக்காக நாம் படைக்கவில்லை. இது (வீணென்பது) காஃபிர்களின் எண்ணமாகும்; காஃபிர்களுக்கு (நரக) நெருப்பின் கேடுதான் உண்டு.

வானத்தையும், பூமியையும், இவை இரண்டிற்கு மத்தியிலுள்ளவற்றையும் வீணாக நாம் படைக்கவில்லை, இது நிராகரித்தார்களே அத்தகையோரின் எண்ணமேயாகும், ஆகவே, நிராகரித்துவிட்டார்களே அத்தகையவர்களுக்கு (நரக) நெருப்பின் கேடுதான் (உண்டு).

We have not created the heavens and earth and all that is between them in vain. That is the assumption of those who disbelieve. So woe to the disbelievers from the Fire!

Am najAAalu allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati kaalmufsideena fee alardi am najAAalu almuttaqeena kaalfujjari

Shall We treat those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh – Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds as Mufsidûn (those who associate partners in worship with Allâh and commit crimes) on earth? Or shall We treat the Muttaqûn (the pious. See V.2:2) as the Fujjâr (criminals, disbelievers, the wicked)?

Or should we treat those who believe and do righteous deeds like corrupters in the land? Or should We treat those who fear Allah like the wicked?

நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு நற்செயல்கள் செய்தவர்களைப் பூமியில் விஷமம் செய்தவர்களைப் போல் நாம் ஆக்கி விடுவோமா? அல்லது இறை அச்சமுடையவர்களை (பயமற்று குற்றம் புரியும்) பாவிகளைப் போல் நாம் ஆக்கி விடுவோமா?

அல்லது ஈமான் கொண்டு (ஸாலிஹான) நல்லமல்கள் செய்வோரை பூமியில் குழப்பம் செய்வோரைப்போல் நாம் ஆக்கிவிடுவோமா? அல்லது, பயபக்தியுடையோரைப் பாவிகளைப் போல் நாம் ஆக்கிவிடுவோமா?

அல்லது விசுவாசங்கொண்டு, நற்கருமங்களும் செய்தார்களே அத்தகையோரை, பூமியில் குழப்பம் செய்கிறவர்களைப்போல் நாம் ஆக்கிவிடுவோமா? அல்லது பயபக்தியுடைவர்களை (குற்றம் புரியும்) பாவிகளைப்போல் நாம் ஆக்கிவிடுவோமா?

Should We make those who believe and do righteous deeds equal to those who spread corruption on earth? Or should We make the righteous equal to the wicked?

Kitabun anzalnahu ilayka mubarakun liyaddabbaroo ayatihi waliyatathakkara oloo alalbabi

(This is) a Book (the Qur'ân) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings, that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember.

[This is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded.

(நபியே!) இவ்வேதத்தை நாமே உங்கள்மீது இறக்கி வைத்தோம். இது மிக பாக்கியமுள்ளது. அறிவுடையவர்கள் இதன் வசனங்களை கவனித்து ஆராய்ந்து நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெறுவார்களாக!

(நபியே!) பாக்கியம் பெற்ற இவ்வேதத்தை உம்மீது அருளியுள்ளோம் - அவர்கள் இதன் வசனங்களைக் கவனித்து ஆய்வதற்காகவும், அறிவுடையோர் நல்லுணர்வு பெறுவதற்காகவும்.

(நபியே! குர் ஆனாகிய இது, அதன் நன்மைகள் பன்மடங்காக்கப்பட்டதாக இருக்க) பாக்கியமிக்க வேதமாகும், இதனுடைய வசனங்களை அவர்கள் சிந்திப்பதற்காகவும், (இதனை கொண்டு) அறிவுடையோர் நல்லுபதேசம் பெறுவதற்காகவும் நாம் இதை உம்மீது இறக்கிவைத்தோம்.

This is a blessed Book that We have sent down to you [O Prophet] so that they may reflect upon its verses, and so that people of understanding may take heed.

Wawahabna lidawooda sulaymana niAAma alAAabdu innahu awwabun

And to Dâwûd (David) We gave Sulaimân (Solomon). How excellent a slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)!

And to David We gave Solomon. An excellent servant, indeed he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah].

தாவூதுக்கு, ஸுலைமானை நாம் மகனாகத் தந்தருள் புரிந்தோம். அவர் மிக நல்லடியார். மெய்யாகவே அவர் (ஒவ்வொரு விஷயத்திலும்) நம்மையே நோக்கி நின்றார்.

இன்னும் தாவூதுக்கு(ப் புதல்வராக) ஸுலைமானை வழங்கினோம்; சிறப்பான (நம்) நல்லடியார், நிச்சயமாக அவர் (எதிலும் நம்மையே) நோக்குபவர்.

மேலும் தாவூதுக்கு, ஸுலைமானை அன்பளிப்பாக நாம் வழங்கினோம். (அவர்) மிக்க நல்லடியார்_நிச்சயமாக அவர், (நம்பக்கமே) மிகுதியாகத் திரும்புவர்.

We gave David Solomon, an excellent and faithful slave who constantly turned [to Us].

Ith AAurida AAalayhi bialAAashiyyi alssafinatu aljiyadu

When there were displayed before him, in the afternoon, well trained horses of the highest breed [for Jihâd (holy fighting in Allâh's Cause)].

[Mention] when there were exhibited before him in the afternoon the poised [standing] racehorses.

(யுத்தத்திற்காகச் சித்தப்படுத்தப்பட்டிருந்த) உயர்ந்த குதிரைகள் (ஒரு நாளன்று) மாலை நேரத்தில், அவர் முன் கொண்டு வரப்பட்டபொழுது (அதனைப் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்ததனால், சூரியன் அஸ்தமித்து அவருடைய அஸர் தொழுகை தவறி விட்டது. அதற்கவர்:)

நன்கு பயிற்சியளிக்கப்பட்ட உயர்ந்த குதிரைகள் (ஒரு) மாலை நேரத்தில் அவர் முன் கொண்டுவரப்பட்ட பொழுது:

மூன்று கால்களிலும், நான்காவது காலின் குழம்பிலும் நின்று, துரிதமாகச் செல்லும் (பயிற்சி அளிக்கப்பட்ட) குதிரைகள் (ஒரு நாளன்று) மாலை நேரத்தில் அவர் முன் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டபொழுது,

One evening, well-trained and swift horses of noble breed were presented before him.

Faqala innee ahbabtu hubba alkhayri AAan thikri rabbee hatta tawarat bialhijabi

He said: "I did love the good (these horses) instead of remembering my Lord (in my 'Asr prayer)," till the time was over, and (the sun) had hidden in the veil (of night).

And he said, "Indeed, I gave preference to the love of good [things] over the remembrance of my Lord until the sun disappeared into the curtain [of darkness]."

"நிச்சயமாக நான் (சூரியன்) திரைக்குள் மறைந்துவிடும் வரையில், அல்லாஹ்வின் திருப்பெயரை நினைவுகூர்வதை விட்டுப் பொருளை அதிகமாக அன்பு கொண்டு விட்டேன் (என்று மனம் வருந்தி,)

“நிச்சயமாக நான் (சூரியன் இரவாகிய) திரைக்குள் மறைந்து விடும்வரை, என்னுடைய இறைவனை நினைப்பது விட்டும் இந்த நல்ல பொருட்களின் மேல் அதிக அன்பாக அன்பு பாராட்டிவிட்டேன்” என அவர் கூறினார்.

(அதன் மேல் கவனம் கொண்டதனால், சூரியன் அஸ்தமித்து, அவருடைய தியான நேரம் தவறிவிட்டது, அதற்கவர்) ”நிச்சயமாக நான் (சூரியன்) திரையினுள் மறைந்துவிடும் வரை என் இரட்சகனை நினைவுகூர்வதைவிட்டும் இந்த நல்ல பொருள்களை அதிகமாக அன்பு கொண்டுவிட்டேன்” என்று கூறினார்.

He then said, “I gave preference to the love of fine things over the remembrance of my Lord,” until the sun went out of sight.

Ruddooha AAalayya fatafiqa mashan bialssooqi waalaAAnaqi

Then he said: "Bring them (horses) back to me." Then he began to pass his hand over their legs and their necks (till the end of the display).

[He said], "Return them to me," and set about striking [their] legs and necks.

அவைகளை என்னிடம் கொண்டு வாருங்கள்" எனக் கூறி, அவைகளின் பின்னங்கால்களையும், கழுத்துக்களையும் (கையினால் நீவி) தடவிக் கொடுத்தார்.

“என்னிடம் அவற்றை திரும்ப கொண்டு வாருங்கள் (என்று கூறினார்; அவை திரும்ப கொண்டு வரப்பட்டபின்) அவற்றின் பின்னங்கால்களையும் கழுத்துகளையும் தடவிக் கொடுத்தார்.”

“அவற்றை என்னிடம் திரும்பக்கொண்டுவாருங்கள்” எனக் கூறி அவைகளின் பின்னங்கால்களையும் கழுத்துகளையும் (கையால்) தடவிக்கொடுத்தார்.

[He ordered], “Bring them back to me,” and he began striking [their] shanks and necks.

Walaqad fatanna sulaymana waalqayna AAala kursiyyihi jasadan thumma anaba

And indeed, We did try Sulaimân (Solomon) and We placed on his throne Jasad (a devil, so he lost his kingdom for a while) and he did return (to Allâh with obedience and in repentance, and to his throne and kingdom by the Grace of Allâh).

And We certainly tried Solomon and placed on his throne a body; then he returned.

நிச்சயமாக நாம் ஸுலைமானை (மற்றொரு விதத்திலும்) சோதனை செய்து, அவருடைய சிம்மாசனத்தில் ஒரு முண்டத்தை எறிந்தோம். உடனே, அவர் நம்மளவில் திரும்பிவிட்டார்.

இன்னும் நாம் ஸுலைமானைத் திட்டமாகச் சோதித்தோம்; அவருடைய அரியணையில் ஒரு முண்டத்தை எறிந்தோம் - ஆகவே அவர் (நம்மளவில்) திரும்பினார்.

இன்னும் நிச்சயமாக, நாம் ஸுலைமானை (மற்றொரு விதத்திலும்) சோதித்தோம், மேலும், அவருடைய சிம்மாசனத்தில் ஒரு சடலத்தை நாம் போட்டோம், பின்னர் அவர், (நம்மளவில்) திரும்பினார்.

Indeed, We tested Solomon and cast upon his throne a body, then he turned [to Allah].

Qala rabbi ighfir lee wahab lee mulkan la yanbaghee liahadin min baAAdee innaka anta alwahhabu

He said: "My Lord! Forgive me, and bestow upon me a kingdom such as shall not belong to any other after me. Verily, You are the Bestower."

He said, "My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower."

ஆகவே, அவர் "என் இறைவனே! என்னுடைய குற்றங்களை மன்னித்து விடு! எனக்குப் பின்னர் எவருமே அடைய முடியாத ஓர் ஆட்சியை எனக்கு நீ அளித்தருள் புரிவாயாக! நிச்சயமாக நீ பெரும் கொடையாளி" என்று பிரார்த்தனை செய்தார்.

“என் இறைவனே! என்னை மன்னித்தருள்வாயாக! அன்றியும், பின்னர் எவருமே அடைய முடியாத ஓர் அரசாங்கத்தை எனக்கு நீ நன்கொடையளிப்பாயாக! நிச்சயமாக நீயே மிகப்பெருங் கொடையாளியாவாய்” எனக் கூறினார்.

(ஆகவே) “என் இரட்சகனே! என்னை மன்னித்து விடுவாயாக! எனக்குப் பின்னர், எவருக்குமே கிடைக்காத ஓர் ஆட்சியை எனக்கு நீ அன்பளிப்புச் செய்வாயாக! நிச்சயமாக நீயே பெரும் கொடையாளனாவாய்” என்று (பிரார்த்தனை செய்து) அவர் கூறினார்.

He said, “My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom, the like of which will never be granted to anyone after me. You are indeed the Bestower.”

Fasakhkharna lahu alrreeha tajree biamrihi rukhaan haythu asaba

So, We subjected to him the wind; it blew gently by his order whithersoever he willed,

So We subjected to him the wind blowing by his command, gently, wherever he directed,

ஆதலால், (அவர் விரும்பிய ஆட்சியைக் கொடுத்துக்) காற்றையும் அவருக்கு வசப்படுத்திக் கொடுத்தோம். அது அவருடைய கட்டளையின்படி, அவர் செல்லக்கூடிய இடங்களுக் கெல்லாம் மிக்க சௌகரியமாகவே (அவரைச் சுமந்து) சென்று கொண்டிருந்தது.

ஆகவே, நாம் அவருக்குக் காற்றை வசப்படுத்திக் கொடுத்தோம்; அது அவருடைய கட்டளைப்படி அவர் நாடிய இடங்களுக்கெல்லாம் இலகுவாக (அவரைச் சுமந்து) சென்று கொண்டிருந்தது.

ஆதலால், காற்றை அவருக்கு நாம் வசப்படுத்திக் கொடுத்தோம், அது அவருடைய கட்டளையின் பிரகாரம் அவர் நாடியவாறு (பல இடங்களுக்கும்) மிக்க இலகுவாக (அவரைச் சுமந்து) சென்று கொண்டிருந்தது.

So We subjected to him the wind blowing gently by his command to wherever he wished,

Waalshshayateena kulla bannain waghawwasin

And also the Shayâtîn (devils) from the jinn (including) every kind of builder and diver,

And [also] the devils [of jinn] - every builder and diver

அன்றி, ஷைத்தான்களில் உள்ள சிற்பிகள், முத்துக் குளிப்பவர்கள் ஆகிய அனைவரையும் அவருக்கு வசப்படுத்திக் கொடுத்தோம்.

மேலும், ஷைத்தான்களிலுள்ள கட்டடங்கட்டுவோர், முத்துக்குளிப்போர் ஆகிய யாவரையும்;

அன்றியும், ஷைத்தான்களிலுள்ள கட்டடங்கட்டுவோர் (இன்னும் விலை உயர்ந்த முத்துக்கள் போன்ற சாதனங்களை எடுத்து வரக் கடலில்) மூழ்குவோர் ஆகிய ஒவ்வொருவரையும்_

And [We subjected to him] the devils, all kinds of builders and divers,

Waakhareena muqarraneena fee alasfadi

And also others bound in fetters.

And others bound together in shackles.

அன்றி, சங்கிலியால் பிணைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த வேறு மூர்க்கர்கள் பலரையும் அவருக்கு வசப்படுத்தித் தந்தோம்.

சங்கிலியால் விலங்கிடப்பட்டிருந்த வேறு பலரையும் (நாம் அவருக்குக் வசப்படுத்திக் கொடுத்தோம்).

_சங்கிலிகளில் பிணைக்கப்பட்டவர்களான மற்றவர்களையும் (நாம் அவருக்கு வசப்படுத்திக் கொடுத்தோம்).

and others bound in chains.

Hatha AAataona faomnun aw amsik bighayri hisabin

[Allâh said to Sulaimân (Solomon):] "This is Our Gift, so spend you or withhold, no account will be asked of you."

[We said], "This is Our gift, so grant or withhold without account."

பின்னர் (அவரை நோக்கி) "இவையெல்லாம் நாம் உங்களுக்கு அளித்த கொடைகளாகும். ஆகவே, (இவைகளை) நீங்கள் கணக்கின்றி (எல்லோருக்கும் கொடுத்து) நன்றி செய்யுங்கள். அல்லது (அவைகளை உங்களிடமே) நிறுத்திக் கொள்ளுங்கள். (அது உங்களது இஷ்டத்தைப் பொறுத்த விஷயம்" என்றோம்.)

“இது நம்முடைய நன்கொடையாகும்; (நீர் விரும்பினால் இவற்றைப் பிறருக்குக் கொடுக்கலாம், அல்லது கொடாது நிறுத்திக் கொள்ளலாம் - கேள்வி கணக்கில்லாத நிலையில் (என்று நாம் அவரிடம் கூறினோம்).

“இது (உமக்கு கொடுக்கப்பட்ட) நம்முடைய அன்பளிப்பாகும், ஆகவே, (இதிலிருந்து பிறருக்கு கொடுத்து) உபகாரம் செய்யும், அல்லது (உம்மிடமே) நிறுத்திக்கொள்ளும், உம் மீது எந்த கேள்வி கணக்கும் இல்லை”.

[We said], “This is Our gift, so give freely or withhold, without account.”

Wainna lahu AAindana lazulfa wahusna maabin

And verily, for him is a near access to Us, and a good (final) return (Paradise).

And indeed, for him is nearness to Us and a good place of return.

நிச்சயமாக அவருக்கு நம்மிடத்தில் மிக்க நெருங்கிய மேலான பதவியும் அழகான இருப்பிடமும் உண்டு.

மேலும், நிச்சயமாக அவருக்கு, நம்மிடத்தில் நெருங்கிய (அந்தஸ்)தும், அழகிய இருப்பிடமும் உண்டு.  

நிச்சயமாக அவருக்கு நம்மிடத்தில் (மிக்க) நெருக்கமும் அழகான இருப்பிடமும் உண்டு.

And he certainly has a status of nearness to Us and a good place of return.

Waothkur AAabdana ayyooba ith nada rabbahu annee massaniya alshshaytanu binusbin waAAathabin

And remember Our slave Ayyûb (Job), when he invoked his Lord (saying): "Verily, Shaitân (Satan) has touched me with distress (by ruining my health) and torment (by ruining my wealth)!

And remember Our servant Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, Satan has touched me with hardship and torment."

(நபியே!) நமது அடியார் ஐயூபை நினைத்துப் பாருங்கள். அவர் தன் இறைவனிடம் பிரார்த்தனை செய்தபொழுது "நிச்சயமாக எனக்கு ஷைத்தான் துன்பத்தையும் வேதனையையும் கொடுத்து விட்டான்" (என்று கூறினார்.)

மேலும் (நபியே!) நம்முடைய (நல்) அடியார் அய்யூபை நினைவு கூர்க! அவர் தம் இறைவனிடம், “நிச்சயமாக ஷைத்தான் எனக்குத் துன்பத்தையும், வேதனையையும் கொடுத்து விட்டான்” (என்று கூறிய போது);

மேலும் (நபியே!) நமது அடியார் அய்யூபை நினைவு கூர்வீராக! அவர் தன் இரட்சகனை அழைத்(துப் பிரார்த்தனை செய்)து “நிச்சயமாக என்னை ஷைத்தான் துன்பத்தையும், வேதனையும் கொண்டு தீண்டிவிட்டான்” (என்று கூறியபோது, அதற்கு நாம்)

And remember Our slave Job, when he cried out to his Lord, “Indeed, Satan has afflicted me with hardship and pain.”

Orkud birijlika hatha mughtasalun baridun washarabun

(Allâh said to him): "Strike the ground with your foot. This is (a spring of) water to wash in, cool and a (refreshing) drink."

[So he was told], "Strike [the ground] with your foot; this is a [spring for] a cool bath and drink."

(அதற்கு நாம்) "உங்களுடைய காலை(ப் பூமியில்) தட்டுங்கள்" (என்று கூறினோம். அவர் தட்டவே ஓர் ஊற்று உதித் தோடியது. அவரை நோக்கி) "இதோ நீங்கள் குளிப்பதற்கான குளிர்ந்த நீர். (இதுவே உங்களது) பானமுமாகும்" என்று கூறினோம். (அதனால் அவருடைய நோய்கள் குணமாகி விட்டன.)

“உம்முடைய காலால் (பூமியைத்) தட்டும்” (அவ்வாறு தட்டவே ஒரு நீருற்றுப் பொங்கி வந்ததும்) “இதோ குளிர்ச்சியான குளிக்குமிடமும், பானமும் (உமக்கு) இருக்கின்றன” (என்று சொன்னோம்).

“உம்முடைய காலால் (பூமியில்) அடியும்” (என்று கூறினோம், அவர் அடிக்கவே அங்கு ஓர் ஊற்று உதித்தோடியது, அவரிடம்.) “இதோ குளிர்ச்சியான குளிக்குமிடமும், பானமும் இருக்கின்றன (என்று கூறினோம், அதனால், அவருடைய நோய் குணமாகிவிட்டது).

[Allah said], “Stamp [the ground] with your foot: here is a cool spring for bathing and drinking.”

Wawahabna lahu ahlahu wamithlahum maAAahum rahmatan minna wathikra liolee alalbabi

And We gave him (back) his family, and along with them the like thereof, as a Mercy from Us, and a Reminder for those who understand.

And We granted him his family and a like [number] with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for those of understanding.

பின்னர், நம்முடைய அருளாகவும் அறிவுடையவர்கள் நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெறுவதற்காகவும் நாம் அவருக்கு(ப் பிரிந்திருந்த) அவருடைய குடும்பத்தாரையும் அதைப் போன்றதையும் கொடுத்து அருள்புரிந்தோம்.

பின்னர் நம்மிடத்திலிருந்துள்ள கிருபையாகவும் அறிவுடையயோருக்கு நினைவூட்டுதலாகவும் அவருடைய குடும்பத்தையும், பின்னும் அதைப் போன்ற ஒரு தொகையினரையும் (அவருக்குக் குடும்பமாகக்) கொடுத்தோம்.

மேலும், நம்மிடமிருந்து அருளாகவும், அறிவுடையோர் நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெறுவதற்காகவும் அவருக்கு அவருடைய குடும்பத்தினரையும், அவர்களுடன் அவர்களைப் போன்றோரையும் நாம் அன்பளிப்பாக வழங்கினோம்.

And We restored his family to him and the like of them as a mercy from Us and as a reminder for people of understanding.

Wakhuth biyadika dighthan faidrib bihi wala tahnath inna wajadnahu sabiran niAAma alAAabdu innahu awwabun

"And take in your hand a bundle of thin grass and strike therewith (your wife), and break not your oath. Truly, We found him patient. How excellent a slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)!

[We said], "And take in your hand a bunch [of grass] and strike with it and do not break your oath." Indeed, We found him patient, an excellent servant. Indeed, he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah].

"ஒரு பிடி (புல்) கத்தையை எடுத்து, அதனைக் கொண்டு (உங்களது மனைவியை) அடியுங்கள். நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய சத்தியத்தை முறிக்க வேண்டியதில்லை" என்று கூறினோம். நிச்சயமாக நாம், அவரை மிக்க பொறுமை உடையவராகவே கண்டோம். அவர் மிக்க நல்லடியார். நிச்சயமாக அவர் (ஒவ்வொரு விஷயத்திலும் நம்மை) நோக்கினவராகவே இருந்தார்.

“ஒரு பிடி புல் (கற்றையை) உம்கையில் எடுத்து, அதைக் கொண்டு (உம் மனைவியை) அடிப்பீராக; நீர் (உம்) சத்தியத்தை முறிக்கவும் வேண்டாம்” (என்று கூறினோம்). நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவரைப் பொறுமையுடையவராகக் கண்டோம்; அவர் சிறந்த நல்லடியார் - நிச்சயமாக அவர் (எதிலும் நம்மை) நோக்கியவராகவே இருந்தார்.

மேலும், “புல்லிலிருந்து ஒரு பிடியை உமது கையில் எடுத்து, அதனைக் கொண்டு (உம் மனைவியை) அடியும், நீர் (உம்முடைய) சத்தியத்தை முறிக்கவும் வேண்டாம்” (என்று கூறினோம்). நிச்சயமாக நாம், அவரை மிக்க பொறுமையாளராகவே கண்டோம், (அவர்) மிக்க நல்லடியார். நிச்சயமாக அவர் (நம்பால்) அதிகமாக மீளக்கூடியவராக இருந்தார்.

[We said], “Take a bunch of grass in your hand, and strike [your wife] with it, and do not break your oath.” We truly found him patient – an excellent and faithful slave he was. He constantly turned [to Us].

Waothkur AAibadana ibraheema waishaqa wayaAAqooba olee alaydee waalabsari

And remember Our slaves, Ibrâhîm (Abraham), Ishâq (Isaac), and Ya'qûb (Jacob), (all) owners of strength (in worshipping Us) and (also) of religious understanding.

And remember Our servants, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - those of strength and [religious] vision.

(நபியே!) நமது அடியார்கள் இப்ராஹீம், இஸ்ஹாக், யஅகூபையும் நினைத்துப் பாருங்கள். இவர்கள் கொடையாளி களாகவும், அகப்பார்வை உடையவர்களாகவும் இருந்தார்கள்.

(நபியே! ஆத்மீக) ஆற்றலும், அகப்பார்வையும் உடையவர்களாயிருந்த நம் அடியார்களான இப்றாஹீம், இஸ்ஹாக், யஃகூப் ஆகியோரையும் நினைவு கூர்வீராக!

(நபியே! அல்லாஹ்வின் கட்டளைகளை நிறைவேற்றும்) ஆற்றல்களும், (மார்க்கத்தின் நுணுக்கங்களை விளங்கும்) பார்வைகளும் உடையவர்களாக இருந்த நமது அடியார்களான இப்றாஹீமையும், இஸ்ஹாக்கையும், யஃகூபையும் நினைவு கூர்வீராக!

Remember Our slaves: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob – men of strength and insight.

Inna akhlasnahum bikhalisatin thikra alddari

Verily, We did choose them by granting them (a good thing, – i.e.) the remembrance of the Home (in the Hereafter and they used to make the people remember it, and also they used to invite the people to obey Allâh and to do good deeds for the Hereafter).

Indeed, We chose them for an exclusive quality: remembrance of the home [of the Hereafter].

மறுமையை (மக்களுக்கு) எந்நேரமும் ஞாபகமூட்டுவதற்காக அவர்களை நாம் பிரத்யேகப்படுத்தினோம்.

நிச்சயமாக, நாம் இவர்களை (மறுமை) வீட்டை நினைவூட்டுவதற்காகவே பூரண பரிசுத்தமானவர்களாக(த் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தோம்).

நிச்சயமாக (மறுமை) வீட்டை நினைவுகூருவதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டு (செயல்படுபவர்களாக) அவர்களை நாம் பிரத்தியேகப்படுத்தினோம்.

We chose them exclusively for the remembrance of the Final Home.

Wainnahum AAindana lamina almustafayna alakhyari

And they are with Us, verily, of the chosen and the best!

And indeed they are, to Us, among the chosen and outstanding.

அவர்கள், நம்மிடத்தில் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட நல்லடி யார்களில் உள்ளவர்களாகவே இருந்தனர்.

நிச்சயமாக இவர்கள் நம்மிடத்தில் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட நல்லோர்களில் நின்றுமுள்ளவர்கள்.

மேலும், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள், நம்மிடத்தில் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட சிறந்தோரில் உள்ளவர்களாவார்கள்.

Indeed, they are before us among the chosen and best ones.

Waothkur ismaAAeela wailyasaAAa watha alkifli wakullun mina alakhyari

And remember Ismâ'îl (Ishmael), Al-Yasaa' (Elisha), and Dhul-Kifl (Isaiah), all are among the best.

And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhul-Kifl, and all are among the outstanding.

(நபியே!) இஸ்மாயீல், அல்யஸஉ, துல்கிப்லு இவர்களையும் கவனித்துப் பாருங்கள். இவர்களனைவரும் நல்லடியார்களில் உள்ளவர்கள்தாம்.

இன்னும் (நபியே!) நினைவு கூர்வீராக; இஸ்மாயீலையும், அல்யஸவுவையும், துல்கிஃப்லையும் - (இவர்கள்) எல்லோரும் நல்லோர்களில் உள்ளவராகவே இருந்தனர்.

(நபியே!) இன்னும் இஸ்மாயீலையும், அல்யஸஉவையும், துல்கிப்லுவையும் நினைவு கூர்வீராக! (இவர்கள்) எல்லோரும் நல்லடியார்களில் உள்ளவர்களாவர்.

Also remember Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhul-Kifl – all were among the best.

Hatha thikrun wainna lilmuttaqeena lahusna maabin

This is a Reminder. And verily, for the Muttaqûn (the pious. See V.2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), –

This is a reminder. And indeed, for the righteous is a good place of return

(மேற்கூறிய) இவைகளெல்லாம் (நம்பிக்கையாளர்களுக்கு) நல்ல உதாரணங்களாகும். நிச்சயமாக (இத்தகைய) இறை அச்சமுடையவர்களுக்கு (நல்ல) இருப்பிடமுண்டு.

இது நல்லுபதேசமாக இருக்கும்; நிச்சயமாக பயபக்தியுடையவர்களுக்கு அழகிய இருப்பிடமுண்டு.

இது (விசுவாசிகளுக்கு) நல்லுபதேசமாகும், நிச்சயமாக (இத்தகைய) பயபக்தியாளர்களுக்கு அழகான இருப்பிடமும் உண்டு.

This is a reminder. And the righteous will surely have a good return:

Jannati AAadnin mufattahatan lahumu alabwabu

'Adn (Eden) Paradise (everlasting Gardens), whose doors will be opened for them.

Gardens of perpetual residence, whose doors will be opened to them.

அது நிலையான சுவனபதியில் இருக்கிறது. அதன் வாசல்கள் (எந்நேரமும்) திறக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும்.

“அத்னு” என்னும் சுவனபதிகளின் வாயில்கள் அவர்களுக்காகத் திறந்து வைக்கப்பட்டவையாக இருக்கும்.

(அவ்விருப்பிடம் அத்னு எனும்) நிலையான சுவனபதிகளில் (இருக்கிறது,) அவர்களுக்காக (அதன்) வாயல்கள் (திறக்கப்பட்டவையாக இருக்கும்.

Gardens of Eternity, with gates wide open for them.

Muttakieena feeha yadAAoona feeha bifakihatin katheeratin washarabin

Therein they will recline; therein they will call for fruits in abundance and drinks;

Reclining within them, they will call therein for abundant fruit and drink.

அதில் (உள்ள தலையணைகளின் மீது) சாய்ந்த வண்ணமாக, ஏராளமான கனிவர்க்கங்களையும் (இன்பமான) பானங்களையும், கேட்டு (வாங்கிப் புசித்து) அருந்திக்கொண்டு இருப்பார்கள்.

அதில் அவர்கள் (பஞ்சணைகள் மீது) சாய்ந்தவர்களாக, அங்கே ஏராளமான கனிவகைகளையும், பானங்களையும் கேட்(டு அருந்திக் கொண்டிருப்)பார்கள்.

அதில் (தலையணைகளின் மீது) சாய்ந்தவர்களாக, ஏராளமான கனிகளையும் (இன்பமான) பானங்களையும் கேட்(டு வங்கிப் புசித்து அருந்திக் கொண்டிருப்)பார்கள்.

They will recline therein, calling for abundant fruit and drink.

WaAAindahum qasiratu alttarfi atrabun

And beside them will be Qâsirât-at-Tarf [chaste females (wives) restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands)], (and) of equal ages.

And with them will be women limiting [their] glances and of equal age.

அவர்களிடத்தில் கீழ்நோக்கிய பார்வைகளையுடைய ஒத்த வயதுடைய கன்னிகைகள் பலரும் இருப்பார்கள். (அவர்களை நோக்கி,)

அவர்களுடன் கீழ்நோக்கிய பார்வையும், ஒரே வயதுமுடைய அமர கன்னிகைகளும் இருப்பார்கள்.

மேலும், அவர்களிடத்தில், கீழ் நோக்கிய பார்வைகளயுடைய ஒத்த வயதுடைய கன்னிகைகள் (பலரும்) இருப்பார்கள்.

And they will have maidens of modest gaze and equal age.

Hatha ma tooAAadoona liyawmi alhisabi

This it is what you (Al-Muttaqûn – the pious. See V.2:2) are promised for the Day of Reckoning!

This is what you, [the righteous], are promised for the Day of Account.

கேள்வி கணக்குக் கேட்கும் நாளில் உங்களுக்கு(த் தருவதாக) வாக்களிக்கப்பட்டவை இவைதாம்.

“கேள்வி கணக்குக்குரிய நாளுக்கென உங்களுக்கு வாக்களிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது இதுதான்.

இது, (கேள்வி) “கணக்கிற்குரிய நாளுக்கென நீங்கள் வாக்களிக்கப்பட்டவையாகும்.”

This is what you are promised for the Day of Account.

Inna hatha larizquna ma lahu min nafadin

(It will be said to them:) Verily, this is Our provision which will never finish.

Indeed, this is Our provision; for it there is no depletion.

நிச்சயமாக இவை நம்முடைய கொடையாகும். இதற்கு அழிவே இல்லை (என்று கூறப்படும்.)

“நிச்சயமாக இவை நம்முடைய கொடையாகும்; இதற்கு (என்றும்) முடிவே இராது” (என்று அவர்களுக்குக் கூறப்படும்).

“நிச்சயமாக இவை நம்முடைய கொடையாகும், இதற்கு முடிவே இல்லை” (என்று அவர்களுக்குக் கூறப்படும்)

Indeed, this is Our provision [for the righteous] that will never cease.

Hatha wainna lilttagheena lasharra maabin

This is so! And for the Tâghûn (transgressors, the disobedient to Allâh and His Messenger – disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh, criminals) will be an evil final return (Fire).

This [is so]. But indeed, for the transgressors is an evil place of return -

(நல்லவர்களின் முடிவு) இதுவாகும். வழிகெட்டவர்களின் தங்கும் இடம் நிச்சயமாக மகா கெட்டது.

இது (நல்லோருக்காக); ஆனால் நிச்சயமாகத் தீயவர்களுக்கு மிகக் கெட்ட தங்குமிடம் இருக்கிறது.

இது(வே நல்லோரின் முடிவாகும்) மேலும் நிச்சயமாக, (அல்லாஹ்வின் கட்டளையை மீறிய) கெட்டவர்களுக்கு மிகக்கெட்ட தங்குமிடம் இருக்கிறது.

This [is so]. But the transgressors will surely have a worst return:

Jahannama yaslawnaha fabisa almihadu

Hell! Where they will burn, and worst (indeed) is that place to rest!

Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the resting place.

அது நரகம்தான். அதில்தான் அவர்கள் புகுவார்கள். அது தங்குமிடங்களில் மகா கெட்டது.

(அதுவே நரகம்) ஜஹன்னம் -அதில் அவர்கள் நுழைவார்கள்; அது தங்குமிடங்களில் மிகவும் கெட்டது.

(அதுவே) நரகம்_அதில் அவர்கள் புகுவார்கள், தங்குமிடமான அது மிகக் கெட்டது.

Hell, where they will burn. What a terrible resting place!

Hatha falyathooqoohu hameemun waghassaqun

This is so! Then let them taste it – a boiling fluid and dirty wound discharges.

This - so let them taste it - is scalding water and [foul] purulence.

(அவர்களை நோக்கி,) "இதோ! கொதித்த நீரும், சீழ் ஜலமும்! அதனை நீங்கள் சுவைத்துப் பாருங்கள்" (என்று கூறப்படும்).

இது (தீயோர்களுக்காக); ஆகவே அவர்கள் அதனைச் சுவைத்துப் பார்க்கட்டும் - கொதிக்கும் நீரும்; சீழும் ஆகும்.

இது (தீயோரின் முடிவாகும்), ஆகவே, இதை அவர்கள் சுவைத்துப் பார்க்கட்டும்_ (இதுவே) கொதித்த நீரும், (நரகவாசிகளின் உடலிலிருந்து வடியும்) சீழ் ஜலமுமாகும்.

Let them taste this: scalding water and pus,

Waakharu min shaklihi azwajun

And other (torments) of similar kind – all together!

And other [punishments] of its type [in various] kinds.

இதைப் போன்ற (துன்பம் நிறைந்த) விதவிதமான வேறு (வேதனைகளு)முண்டு.

இன்னும் (இதைத்தவிர) இது போன்ற பல (வேதனைகளும்) உண்டு.

இதைப்போன்ற வேறு பலவகை (வேதனை)களும் உண்டு.

and other similar [torments] of various kinds.

Hatha fawjun muqtahimun maAAakum la marhaban bihim innahum saloo alnnari

This is a troop entering with you (in Hell), no welcome for them! Verily, they shall burn in the Fire!

[Its inhabitants will say], "This is a company bursting in with you. No welcome for them. Indeed, they will burn in the Fire."

(இவர்களுடைய தலைவர்களை நோக்கி,) "இந்தக் கூட்டத்தாரும் உங்களுடன் (நரகத்தில்) தள்ளப்படுவார்கள்" (என்று கூறப்படும். அதற்கு அவர்கள்) "இது அவர்களுக்கு நல்வரவாகாது. இவர்கள் நரகம் செல்பவர்களே" (என்று கூறுவார்கள்).

(நரகவாதிகளின் தலைவர்களிடம்:) “இது உங்களுடன் நெருங்கிக் கொண்டு (நரகம்) புகும் சேனையாகும்; இவர்களுக்கு அங்கு சங்கை இருக்காது; நிச்சயமாக இவர்கள் நரகில் சேர்பவர்கள்” (என்று கூறப்படும்).

(இவர்களுடைய தலைவர்களிடம்) “இது உங்களுடன் (நரகத்தில்) புகும் படையாகும்” (என்று கூறப்படும் அதற்கு அவர்கள்,) ”இது அவர்களுக்கு நல்லவரவாகாது, நிச்சயமாக, அவர்கள் நரகத்தில் புகுந்து விட்டவர்களே!” (என்று கூறுவார்கள்).

[The misleaders will say], “Here is a crowd of people being thrown in with you. There is no welcome for them; they will surely burn in the Fire.”

Qaloo bal antum la marhaban bikum antum qaddamtumoohu lana fabisa alqararu

They (the followers of the misleaders) will say: "Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you (misleaders) who brought this upon us (because you misled us in the world), so evil is this place to stay in!"

They will say, "Nor you! No welcome for you. You, [our leaders], brought this upon us, and wretched is the settlement."

அதற்கு அ(த்தலை)வர்கள் (பின் தொடர்ந்த) அவர்களை நோக்கி, "(எங்களுக்கு) அன்று; உங்களுக்குத்தான் நல்வரவில்லை. நீங்கள்தாம் எங்களுக்கு இதனைத் தேடித் தந்தீர்கள். (ஆதலால், நம்மிருவரின்) தங்குமிடம் மகா கெட்டது" என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

அதற்கு அவர்கள்: “அப்படியல்ல, நீங்களும் தான்! உங்களுக்கும் சங்கை கிடையாது! நீங்கள் தாம் எங்களுக்கு இதை (இந் நிலையை) முற்படுத்தி வைத்தீர்கள்; (ஆதலால் நம் இரு கூட்டத்தாருக்கும்) தங்குமிடம் மிகவும் கெட்டது!” என்று கூறுவர்.

அதற்கு அ(த்தலைவர்களைப் பின்பற்றிய)வர்கள் (தலைவர்களிடம், “எங்களுக்கு) அன்று! நீங்களும்தான், உங்களுக்கு நல்வரவில்லை, நீங்கள்தாம் எங்களுக்கு இதனை முற்படுத்தித்தந்தீர்கள், ஆதலால், (நம்மிருசாராரின்) தங்குமிடம் மிகக் கெட்டது” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

They will say, “No, it is you for whom there is no welcome! You brought this on us. What a terrible place to settle in!”

Qaloo rabbana man qaddama lana hatha fazidhu AAathaban diAAfan fee alnnari

They will say: "Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, add to him a double torment in the Fire!"

They will say, "Our Lord, whoever brought this upon us - increase for him double punishment in the Fire."

தவிர, "எங்கள் இறைவனே! எவன் இதனை எங்களுக்குத் தேடி வைத்தானோ, அவனுக்கு நரகத்தில் (வேதனையை) இரு மடங்கு அதிகப்படுத்து" என்று பிரார்த்திப்பார்கள்.

“எங்கள் இறைவா! எவர் எங்களுக்கு இதை (இந்நிலையை) முற்படுத்தி வைத்தாரோ அவருக்கு நரகத்தின் வேதனையை இரு மடங்காக அதிகப்படுத்துவாயாக!” என்று அவர்கள் கூறுவர்.

எங்களிரட்சகனே! எவன் இதனை எங்களுக்கு முற்படுத்தி வைத்தானோ அவனுக்கு நரகத்தின் வேதனையை இரு மடங்கு அதிகப்படுத்துவாயாக! என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

They will say, “Our Lord, whoever brought this on us, give him double punishment in the Fire.”

Waqaloo ma lana la nara rijalan kunna naAAudduhum mina alashrari

And they will say: "What is the matter with us that we see not men whom we used to count among the bad ones?"

And they will say, "Why do we not see men whom we used to count among the worst?

தவிர, "மிகக் கெட்ட மனிதர்களென்று (உலகத்தில்) எண்ணிக் கொண்டிருந்தோமே அவர்களை (நரகத்தில்) காணவில்லையே?" என்று ஒருவர் ஒருவரைக் கேட்பார்கள்.

இன்னும், அவர்கள்: “நமக்கு என்ன நேர்ந்தது? மிகக் கெட்ட மனிதர்களிலுள்ளவர்கள் என்று நாம் எண்ணிக் கொண்டிருந்தோமே, அவர்களை (நரகத்தில்) ஏன் காணவில்லை?

இன்னும், “எங்களுகென்ன நேர்ந்தது? எவர்களை தீயவர்களில் உள்ளவர்கள் என்று (உலகத்தில்) எண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தோமோ அந்த மனிதர்களை (நரகத்தில்) காணவில்லையே!“ என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

They will say, “Why do we not see those whom we considered to be among the wicked?

Attakhathnahum sikhriyyan am zaghat AAanhumu alabsaru

Did we take them as an object of mockery, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?"

Is it [because] we took them in ridicule, or has [our] vision turned away from them?"

"எவர்களைப் பரிகாசம் பண்ணிக் கொண்டிருந்தோமோ (அவர்கள் இங்கிருந்தும்) அவர்களைப் பார்க்காதவாறு நம்முடைய கண்கள்தாம் மங்கிவிட்டனவோ!" என்றும் கூறுவார்கள்.

“நாம் அவர்களைப் பரிகாசம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தோமா? அல்லது (அவர்களைக் காணமுடியாதவாறு) அவர்களை விட்டும் நம் பார்வைகள் சருகி விட்டனவா?” என்று கூறுவர்.

“அவர்களைப் பரிகாசமாக நாம் எடுத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தோமோ? அல்லது (அவர்கள் இங்கிருந்தும்) அவர்களைப் பார்க்காதவாறு நம்முடைய பார்வைகள் தாம் சாய்ந்துவிட்டனவா!” (என்றும் கூறுவார்கள்).

Is it that we mistakenly made fun of them, or do our eyes fail to see them [in the Fire]?”

Inna thalika lahaqqun takhasumu ahli alnnari

Verily, that is the very truth – the mutual dispute of the people of the Fire!

Indeed, that is truth - the quarreling of the people of the Fire.

இவ்வாறு நரகவாசிகள் தர்க்கித்துக் கொள்வது நிச்சயமாக உண்மைதான்.

நிச்சயமாக இது தான் உண்மை. நரகவாசிகள் (இவ்வாறு தான்) ஒருவரோடு ஒருவர் தர்க்கம் செய்து கொள்வார்கள்.  

நிச்சயமாக நரகவாசிகள் (இவ்வாறு) தர்க்கித்துக் கொள்ளும் இது திட்டமாக உண்மையாகும்.

This is certainly true that the people of the Fire will dispute among themselves.

Qul innama ana munthirun wama min ilahin illa Allahu alwahidu alqahharu

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "I am only a warner and there is no Ilâh (God) except Allâh (none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh) the One, the Irresistible,

Say, [O Muhammad], "I am only a warner, and there is not any deity except Allah, the One, the Prevailing.

"நிச்சயமாக நான் உங்களுக்கு (இதனைப் பற்றி) அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்கிறேன். (அனைவரையும்) அடக்கி ஆளுகின்ற ஒரே அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய), வேறு இறைவன் இல்லவே இல்லை.

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக: “நான் அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவனே, அன்றியும் ஏகனும், (யாவரையும்) அடக்கியாள்பவனுமாகிய அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர நாயன் இல்லை.

“நிச்சயமாக நான் (இதனைப்பற்றி) அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்கிறவனே, (யாவரையும்) அடக்கி ஆளுகின்ற ஒரே அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர வணக்கத்திற்குரிய (வேறு) நாயன் இல்லை” என்றும் (நபியே!) நீர் கூர்வீராக!

Say [O Prophet], “I am only a warner, and none has the right to be worshiped except Allah, the One, the Subjugator,

Rabbu alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma alAAazeezu alghaffaru

"The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving."

Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver."

அவன்தான் வானங்கள், பூமி இவைகளுக்கும் இவைகளுக்கு மத்தியில் உள்ளவைகள் அனைத்திற்கும் எஜமான். அன்றி, அவன் அனைவரையும் மிகைத்தவனும், மிக்க மன்னிப்புடையவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்" என்று (நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்.

“(அவனே) வானங்களுக்கும், பூமிக்கும், இவ்விரண்டிற்குமிடையே உள்ளவற்றுக்கும் இறைவனாக இருக்கின்றான்; அவன் (யாவரையும்) மிகைத்தவன்; மிகவும் மன்னிப்பவன்.”

(அவன் தான்) வானங்கள் மற்றும் பூமி இன்னும், இவ்விரண்டிற்கு மத்தியிலுள்ளவற்றிற்கு இரட்சகன், (அவன் யாவற்றையும்) மிகைத்தோன், மிக்க மன்னிப்புடையோன்.

Lord of the heavens and earth and all that is between them, the All-Mighty, Most Forgiving.”

Qul huwa nabaon AAatheemun

Say: "That (this Qur'ân) is great news,

Say, "It is great news

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "(உங்களுக்கு நான் எடுத்துரைக்கும்) இது மிக மகத்தானதொரு விஷயம்.

(நபியே?) கூறுவீராக: “(நான் உங்களுக்கு எடுத்துரைக்கும்) இது மகத்தான செய்தியாகும்.

“(உங்களுக்கு நான் எடுத்துரைக்கும்) இது, மிக மகத்தான செய்தியாகும்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக:

Say, “This [Qur’an] is of great importance

Antum AAanhu muAAridoona

"From which you turn away!

From which you turn away.

அதனை நீங்கள் புறக்கணிக்கின்றீர்கள்."

“நீங்களோ அதைப் புறக்கணித்தவர்களாக இருக்கிறீர்கள்.

(ஆனால்) நீங்கள் அதனைப் புறக்கணிக்கின்றவர்களாக இருக்கிறீர்கள்.

from which you are turning away.”

Ma kana liya min AAilmin bialmalai alaAAla ith yakhtasimoona

"I had no knowledge of the chiefs (angels) on high when they were disputing and discussing (about the creation of Adam).

I had no knowledge of the exalted assembly [of angels] when they were disputing [the creation of Adam].

(ஆதமை இறைவன் படைத்தபோது,) மேலுலகத்தார் (ஆகிய மலக்குகள்) தங்களுக்குள் தர்க்கித்துக் கொண்டது எனக்கொன்றும் தெரியாது. (அதைப் பற்றி) "எனக்கு வஹ்யி மூலம் அறிவிக்கப் பட்டதைத் தவிர, (நான் அறியேன்.)

“மேலான கூட்டத்தார் தர்க்கித்துக் கொண்டது பற்றி எனக்கு ஒன்றும் தெரியாது.

“(ஆதமை அல்லாஹ் படைத்தபோது,) மிக மேலான கூட்டத்தார் (ஆகிய மலக்குகள் தங்களுக்குள்) தர்க்கித்துக்கொண்டது பற்றி (அல்லாஹ் அறிவித்ததே தவிர) எனகொன்றும் தெரியாது (என்றும்),

[And say], “I had no knowledge of the highest assembly [of angels] when they were disputing [about Adam].

In yooha ilayya illa annama ana natheerun mubeenun

"Only this has been revealed to me, that I am a plain warner."

It has not been revealed to me except that I am a clear warner."

நிச்சயமாக நான் பகிரங்கமாக, அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவனே அன்றி வேறில்லை" (என்றுதான் எனக்கு வஹ்யி அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது)

“நிச்சயமாக நான் பகிரங்கமாக அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவன்” என்பதற்காக அல்லாமல் எனக்கு வஹீ அறிவிக்கப்படவில்லை.

“நிச்சயமாக நான் பகிரங்கமாக அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவன், என்பதைத்தவிர (வேறு எதையும்) எனக்கு (வஹீமூலம்) அறிவிக்கப்படவில்லை” (என்றும் கூறுவீராக!)

I have only received revelation in order to give a clear warning.”

Ith qala rabbuka lilmalaikati innee khaliqun basharan min teenin

(Remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "Truly, I am going to create man from clay."

[So mention] when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I am going to create a human being from clay.

உங்களது இறைவன் மலக்குகளை நோக்கி, "நான் மனிதனைக் களிமண்ணால் படைக்கப் போகிறேன்" என்று கூறிய சமயத்தில்,

(நபியே! நினைவு கூர்வீராக!) “நிச்சயமாக நான் களிமண்ணிலிருந்து மனிதனைப் படைக்க இருக்கின்றேன்” என்று உம்முடைய இறைவன் கூறிய வேளையில்:

உமதிரட்சகன் மலக்குகளிடம் நிச்சயமாக “நான் மனிதனைக் களிமண்ணால் படைக்கப்போகிறேன்” என்று கூறிய வேளையை (நபியே நீர் நினைவு கூர்வீராக!)

[Remember] when your Lord said to the angels, “I am going to create a human being from clay.

Faitha sawwaytuhu wanafakhtu feehi min roohee faqaAAoo lahu sajideena

So, when I have fashioned him and breathed into him (his) soul created by Me, then you fall down prostrate to him."

So when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration."

நான் அவரைச் செப்பனிட்டு, அவருக்குள் (நாம் படைத்த) நம்முடைய உயிரையும் புகுத்தினால் அவருக்கு நீங்கள் சிரம் பணிந்து வழிபடுங்கள் என்றும் கூறினான்."

“நான் அவரைச் செவ்வைப்படுத்தி, எனது ஆவியிலிருந்து அவருக்குள் ஊதிய பொழுது: அவருக்கு நீங்கள் விழுந்து ஸுஜூது செய்யுங்கள்” (எனக் கூறியதும்);

பிறகு நான் அவரை (அவருடைய தோற்றத்தை உருவாக்கி)ச்சரிப்படுத்தி என் உயிரிலிருந்தும் அவரில் ஊதியபோது, அவருக்கு சிரம் பணிந்தவர்களாக விழுங்கள் (எனக் கூறியதும்).

When I completed his creation and breathed into him of My [created] soul, fall down in prostration to him.”

Fasajada almalaikatu kulluhum ajmaAAoona

So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them,

So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely.

(அச்சமயம்) மலக்குகள் அனைவருமே சிரம் பணிந்தார்கள்.

அது சமயம் மலக்குகள் யாவரும் ஸுஜூது செய்தார்கள்.

(அது சமயம்) மலக்குகள்_அவர்கள் அனைவரும் ஒன்றாகச் சிரம்பணிந்தார்கள்_

Then the angels fell down in prostration all together,

Illa ibleesa istakbara wakana mina alkafireena

Except Iblîs (Satan), he was proud and was one of the disbelievers.

Except Iblees; he was arrogant and became among the disbelievers.

இப்லீஸைத் தவிர, அவன் கர்வம்கொண்டு (நம் கட்டளையை) நிராகரிப்பவனாகி விட்டான்.

இப்லீஸைத் தவிர; அவன் பெருமை அடித்தவனாக (நம் கட்டளையை மறுத்த) காஃபிர்களில் (ஒருவனாக) ஆகிவிட்டான்.

இப்லீஸைத்தவிர_அவன் கர்வங்கொண்டான், நிராகரிப்பவர்களிலும் ஆகிவிட்டான்.

except Iblīs, who was arrogant and became one of the disbelievers.

Qala ya ibleesu ma manaAAaka an tasjuda lima khalaqtu biyadayya astakbarta am kunta mina alAAaleena

(Allâh) said: "O Iblîs (Satan)! What prevents you from prostrating yourself to one whom I have created with Both My Hands. Are you too proud (to fall prostrate to Adam) or are you one of the high exalted?"

[Allah] said, "O Iblees, what prevented you from prostrating to that which I created with My hands? Were you arrogant [then], or were you [already] among the haughty?"

அதற்கு இறைவன், "இப்லீஸை! நானே என் இரு கரங்களால் படைத்தவற்றிற்கு நீ சிரம் பணியாது உன்னைத் தடை செய்தது என்ன? நீ உன்னை மிகப் பெரியவனாக மதித்துக் கொண்டாயா? அல்லது நீ, (என்னுடைய கட்டளைக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியக் கூடாத) உயர்ந்த பதவியுடையவனாகி விட்டாயா?" என்றான்.

“இப்லீஸே! நான் என்னுடைய கைகளால் படைத்தவருக்கு ஸுஜூது செய்வதை விட்டும் உன்னைத் தடுத்தது எது? பெருமையடிக்கிறாயா? அல்லது நீ உயர்ந்தவர்களில் (ஒருவனாக) ஆகிவிட்டாயா?” என்று (அல்லாஹ்) கேட்டான்.

(அதற்கு அல்லாஹ்,) ”இப்லீஸே! என் இருகரங்களால் நான் படைத்ததற்கு நீ சிரம் பணியாது உன்னைத் தடுத்தது எது? நீ கர்வங்கொண்டுவிட்டாயா? அல்லது, நீ உயர்ந்த (பதவியுடைய)வர்களில் ஆகிவிட்டாயா?” என்றான்.

[Allah] said, “O Iblīs, what prevented you from prostrating to whom I created with My two Hands? Did you just became proud or have you always been arrogant?”

Qala ana khayrun minhu khalaqtanee min narin wakhalaqtahu min teenin

[Iblîs (Satan)] said: "I am better than him. You created me from fire, and You created him from clay."

He said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay."

அதற்கவன், "அவரைவிட நானே மேலானவன். என்னை நீயே நெருப்பால் படைத்தாய்; அவரை களிமண்ணால் படைத்தாய்" என்றான்.

“நானே அவரைவிட மேலானவன்; (ஏனெனில்) என்னை நீ நெருப்பிலிருந்து படைத்தாய்; ஆனால் அவரையோ நீ களிமண்ணிலிருந்து படைத்தாய்” என்று (இப்லீஸ்) கூறினான்.

அ(தற்க)வன், ‘நான் அவரை விட மிக்க மேலானவன், என்னை, நெருப்பிலிருந்து நீ படைத்தாய், இன்னும், அவரைக் களிமண்ணிலிருந்து நீ படைத்தாய்” என்றான்.

He said, “I am better than him: You created me from fire and created him from clay.”

Qala faokhruj minha fainnaka rajeemun

(Allâh) said: "Then get out from here; for verily, you are outcast.

[Allah] said, "Then get out of Paradise, for indeed, you are expelled.

அதற்கு இறைவன், "அவ்வாறாயின், நீ இதிலிருந்து வெளிப்பட்டுவிடு. நிச்சயமாக நீ விரட்டப்பட்டு விட்டாய்.

(அப்போது இறைவன்) “இதிலிருந்து நீ வெளியேறு! ஏனெனில் நிச்சயமாக நீ விரட்டப்பட்டவனாகி விட்டாய்” எனக் கூறினான்.

(அதற்கு அல்லாஹ், “அவ்வாறாயின்,) நீ இதிலிருந்து வெளியேறி விடு, நிச்சயமாக நீ விரட்டப்பட்டவன்” என்று கூறினான்.

[Allah] said, “Then get out of here, for you are accursed,

Wainna AAalayka laAAnatee ila yawmi alddeeni

"And verily, My Curse is on you till the Day of Recompense."

And indeed, upon you is My curse until the Day of Recompense."

உலகம் முடியும் வரை என்னுடைய சாபம் உன்மீது நிச்சயமாக நிலைத்திருக்கும்" என்றான்.

“இன்னும், நிச்சயமாக நியாயத் தீர்ப்பு நாள்வரை உன்மீது என் சாபம் இருக்கும்” (எனவும் இறைவன் கூறினான்).

“என்னுடைய சாபமும் தீர்ப்பு நாள்வரை நிச்சயமாக உன்மீது இருக்கும்”, (என்று கூறினான்.)

and My curse will be upon you until the Day of Judgment.”

Qala rabbi faanthirnee ila yawmi yubAAathoona

[Iblîs (Satan)] said: "My Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are resurrected."

He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected."

அதற்கவன், "என் இறைவனே! (மரணித்தவர்கள்) எழுப்பப்படும் நாள் வரையில் எனக்கு அவகாசம் கொடு" என்றான்.

“இறைவனே! அவர்கள் (இறந்து) எழுப்பப்படும் நாள்வரை எனக்கு அவகாசம் கொடுப்பாயாக” என்று அவன் கேட்டான்.

அ(தற்க)வன், “என் இரட்சகனே! (இறந்தோர்) எழுப்பப்படும் நாள்வரையில் நீ எனக்கு அவகாசம் அளிப்பாயாக!” என்று கூறினான்.

He said, “My Lord, then give me respite until the Day of their resurrection.”

Qala fainnaka mina almunthareena

(Allâh) said: "Verily, you are of those allowed respite

[Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved

அதற்கு இறைவன், "நிச்சயமாக உனக்கு அவகாசம் அளிக்கப்பட்டு விட்டது.

“நிச்சயமாக நீ அவகாசம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டவர்களில் உள்ளவனே” என (அல்லாஹ்) கூறினான்.

(அதற்கு அல்லாஹ்,) “நிச்சயமாக நீ அவகாசம் அளிக்கப்பட்டவர்களில் உள்ளாய்” என்று கூறினான்.

Allah said, “You are given respite,

Ila yawmi alwaqti almaAAloomi

Till the Day of the time appointed."

Until the Day of the time well-known."

குறிப்பிட்ட அந்நாள் வரையில் (உன் தவணை)" என்று கூறினான்.

“குறிப்பிட்டகாலத்தின் நாள்வரையில்” (உனக்கு அவகாசம் உண்டு எனவும் கூறினான்).

குறிப்பிட்ட நேரத்தின் நாள்வரையில் (உன் தவணை உண்டு என்று கூறினான்).

until the Day of the appointed time.”

Qala fabiAAizzatika laoghwiyannahum ajmaAAeena

[Iblîs (Satan)] said: "By Your Might, then I will surely mislead them all,

[Iblees] said, "By your might, I will surely mislead them all

அதற்கவன், "உன் மகத்துவத்தின் மீது சத்தியமாக நான் (மனிதர்கள்) அனைவரையும் வழி கெடுத்துவிடுவேன்."

அப்பொழுது: “உன் கண்ணியத்தின் மீது சத்தியமாக, நிச்சயமாக நான் அவர்கள் யாவரையும் வழிகெடுப்பேன்” என்று (இப்லீஸ்) கூறினான்.

(அப்போது) அவன், “உன் மகத்துவத்தின் மீது சத்தியமாக, நிச்சயமாக நான் அவர்கள் அனைவரையும் வழிகெடுத்துவிடுவேன்” என்றான்.

Iblīs said, “By Your Might, I will surely mislead them all,

Illa AAibadaka minhumu almukhlaseena

"Except Your chosen slaves amongst them (i.e. faithful, obedient, true believers of Islâmic Monotheism)."

Except, among them, Your chosen servants."

"(எனினும்,) பரிசுத்த மனதுடைய உன் அடியார்களைத் தவிர" என்றான்.

“(எனினும்) அவர்களில் அந்தரங்க சுத்தியான உன் அடியார்களைத் தவிர” (என்றான்).

“அவர்களில் (உன்னால்) தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட உன் அடியார்களைத் தவிர”.

except Your chosen slaves among them.”

Qala faalhaqqu waalhaqqa aqoolu

(Allâh) said: "The truth is – and the truth I say, –

[Allah] said, "The truth [is My oath], and the truth I say -

அதற்கு இறைவன், "நான் உண்மையே கூறுபவன். உண்மை என்னவென்றால்,

(அதற்கு இறைவன்:) “அது உண்மை; உண்மையையே நான் கூறுகிறேன் என்று இறைவன் கூறினான்.

(அதற்கு) “உண்மையே! இன்னும், நான் உண்மையையே கூறுகிறேன்” என்று (அல்லாஹ்) கூறினான்.

Allah said, “This truth is – and I only say the truth –

Laamlaanna jahannama minka wamimman tabiAAaka minhum ajmaAAeena

That I will fill Hell with you [Iblîs (Satan)] and those of them (mankind) that follow you, together."

[That] I will surely fill Hell with you and those of them that follow you all together."

உன்னையும் உன்னைப் பின்பற்றியவர்களையும் கொண்டு நரகத்தை நிரப்புவேன்" என்றான்.

“நிச்சயமாக, உன்னைக் கொண்டும், அவர்களில் உன்னைப் பின்பற்றியவர்கள் அனைவரைக் கொண்டும் நரகத்தை நான் நிரப்புவேன்” (என்றான்)

(அதாவது) “நிச்சயமாக உன்னாலும், அவர்களில் உன்னைப் பின்பற்றியவர்களாலும் ஆகிய (உங்கள்) அனைவர்களாலும் நரகத்தைத் திண்ணமாக நான் நிரப்புவேன்” (என்றான்).

that I will certainly fill Hell with you and those of them who follow you all together.”

Qul ma asalukum AAalayhi min ajrin wama ana mina almutakallifeena

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "No wage do I ask of you for this (the Qur'ân), nor am I one of the Mutakallifûn (those who pretend and fabricate things which do not exist).

Say, [O Muhammad], "I do not ask you for the Qur'an any payment, and I am not of the pretentious

ஆகவே, (நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: (மனிதர்களே! இதனை ஓதிக் காண்பிப்பதற்காக) நான் உங்களிடத்தில் யாதொரு கூலியையும் கேட்கவில்லை. அன்றி, (நீங்கள் சுமக்கக்கூடாத யாதொரு சுமையை) நான் உங்கள் மீது சுமத்தவும் இல்லை. இவ்வேதத்தை நான் கற்பனையாக கட்டிக் கொள்ளவும் இல்லை.

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்: (“இக் குர்ஆனுக்காக) நான் உங்களிடம் யாதொரு கூலியும் கேட்கவில்லை; அன்றியும், (இதை இட்டுக் கட்டி) சிரமம் எடுத்துக் கொண்டவனும் அல்லன்.

(மனிதர்களே!) இ(வ்வேதத்தை ஓதிக் காண்பிப்ப)தற்காக உங்களிடத்தில் எவ்விதக் கூலியையும் நான் கேட்கவில்லை, (எதையும்) உண்டாக்கி (பொய்யாக)க் கூறுபவர்களில் நான் உள்ளவனுமல்லன்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக!

Say [O Prophet], “I do not ask you for any reward for it, nor do I pretend to be what I am not.

In huwa illa thikrun lilAAalameena

"It (this Qur'ân) is only a Reminder for all the 'آlamîn (mankind and jinn).

It is but a reminder to the worlds.

உலகத்தார் அனைவருக்குமே இது ஒரு நல்லுபதேசமே யன்றி வேறில்லை.

“இது அகிலங்களுக்கெல்லாம் நல்லுபதேசமேயன்றி வேறில்லை.”

அகிலத்தார்க்கெல்லாம் இது நல்லுபதேசமே தவிர இல்லை.

It is only a reminder for all people.

WalataAAlamunna nabaahu baAAda heenin

"And you shall certainly know the truth of it after a while.".

And you will surely know [the truth of] its information after a time."

நிச்சயமாக சிறிது காலத்திற்குப் பின்னர், நீங்கள் இதன் உண்மையைத் திட்டமாக அறிந்து கொள்வீர்கள்.

“நிச்சயமாக (சிறிது) காலத்திற்குப் பின்னர், நீங்கள் இதன் உண்மையைத் திட்டமாக அறிந்து கொள்வீர்கள்.”

நிச்சயமாக, சிறிது காலத்திற்குப் பின், நீங்கள் இதன் (உண்மைச்) செய்தியைத் திட்டமாக அறிந்துகொள்வீர்கள்.

And you will surely know its truth after a while.”
