37 - as-Saffat (Those Lined Up).

Waalssaffati saffan

By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows).

By those [angels] lined up in rows

அணி அணியாக நிற்பவர்கள் மீது சத்தியமாக!

அணிவகுத்து நிற்பவர்கள் மீது சத்தியமாக,

அணியாக அணிவகுத்து நிற்போர் மீது சத்தியமாக,

By those [angels] lined up in rows,

Faalzzajirati zajran

By those (angels) who drive the clouds in a good way.

And those who drive [the clouds]

(தீமைகளைத்) தீவிரமாக விரட்டுபவர்கள் மீது சத்தியமாக!

பலமாக விரட்டுபவர்கள் மீது சத்தியமாக,

தீவிரமாக விரட்டுவோர் மீது சத்தியமாக,

and those who drive [the clouds],

Faalttaliyati thikran

By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Qur'ân from Allâh to mankind. (Tafsir Ibn Kathîr)

And those who recite the message,

(இறைவனின் வசனங்களை) ஓதுபவர்கள் மீது சத்தியமாக!

(நினைவூட்டும்) வேதத்தை ஓதுவோர் மீது சத்தியமாக,

(அல்லாஹ்வின்) வேதத்தை ஓதுவோர் மீது சத்தியமாக,

and those who recite Allah’s words,

Inna ilahakum lawahidun

Verily, your Ilâh (God) is indeed One (i.e. Allâh);

Indeed, your God is One,

நிச்சயமாக உங்கள் வணக்கத்திற்குரிய இறைவன் ஒரே ஒருவன்தான்.

நிச்சயமாக உங்களுடைய நாயன் ஒருவனே.

நிச்சயமாக உங்கள் வணக்கத்திற்குரிய நாயன் ஒரே ஒருவன் தான்.

indeed, your God is One,

Rabbu alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma warabbu almashariqi

The Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and all that is between them, and the Lord of every point of the sun's risings.

Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them and Lord of the sunrises.

அவனே வானங்களையும், பூமியையும், அவைகளுக்கு மத்தியிலுள்ளவைகளையும் படைத்து வளர்ப்பவன். கீழ் திசை(கள் மேல் திசை)களின் இறைவனும் அவனே.

வானங்களுக்கும், பூமிக்கும், இவ்விரண்டிற்கும் இடையே உள்ளவற்றுக்கும் (அவனே) இறைவன்; கீழ்திசைகளின் இறைவன்.

வானங்களுக்கும், பூமிக்கும் அவை இரண்டிற்கு மத்தியில் உள்ளவற்றிற்கும் (அவனே) இரட்சகன், (மேல்திசை) கீழ்த்திசைகளுக்கும் (அவனே) இரட்சகன்.

Lord of the heavens and earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the points of sunrise.

Inna zayyanna alssamaa alddunya bizeenatin alkawakibi

Verily, We have adorned the near heaven with the stars (for beauty).

Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars

நிச்சயமாக (உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய) நாம், (பூமிக்குச்) சமீபமாக உள்ள வானத்தைப் பிரகாசிக்கும் நட்சத்திரங்களைக் கொண்டு அழகுபடுத்தி வைத்தோம்.

நிச்சயமாக நாமே (பூமிக்கு) சமீபமாக இருக்கும் வானத்தை நட்சத்திரங்களின் அழகைக் கொண்டு அழகுபடுத்தியிருக்கிறோம்.

நிச்சயமாக நாம், (இந்தப் பூமிக்குச்) சமீபமாக உள்ள வானத்தை நட்சத்திரங்களின் அழகைக்கொண்டு அலங்கரித்துள்ளோம்.

We have adorned the sky with the beauty of the stars,

Wahifthan min kulli shaytanin maridin

And to guard against every rebellious devil.

And as protection against every rebellious devil

மிக்க விஷமிகளான ஷைத்தான்களுக்கு ஒரு தடையாகவும் (ஆக்கி வைத்தோம்).

(அதைத்) தீய ஷைத்தான்கள் அனைவருக்கும் தடையாகவும் (ஆக்கினோம்).

கட்டுப்படாத ஒவ்வொரு ஷைத்தானிலிருந்தும் பாதுகாப்பதற்காக (நாம் ஆக்கினோம்).

and for safeguarding it against every rebellious devil,

La yassammaAAoona ila almalai alaAAla wayuqthafoona min kulli janibin

They cannot listen to the higher group (angels) for they are pelted from every side.

[So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side,

மேல் உலகத்தில் உள்ளவர்களின் விஷயங்களை (ஷைத்தான்கள்) செவியுற முடியாது. (ஏனென்றால், அதனை நெருங்கும் ஒவ்வொருவரும்) பல பாகங்களிலிருந்தும் (கொள்ளி களால்) எறியப்பட்டு விரட்டப்படுகின்றனர்.

(அதனால்) அவர்கள் மேலான கூட்டத்தார் (பேச்சை ஒளிந்து) கேட்க முடியாது; இன்னும், அவர்கள் ஒவ்வோர் திசையிலிருந்தும் வீசி எறியப்படுகிறார்கள்.

மிக உயர்வான (மலக்குகளின்) கூட்டத்தார்பால் (அவர்களின் பேச்சுக்களை மறைந்திருந்து ஷைத்தான்களாகிய) இவர்கள் செவியேற்கமாட்டார்கள், ஒவ்வொரு பகுதியிலிருந்தும் (எரி கொள்ளிகளால்) எறியப்படுவார்கள்.

so that they cannot eavesdrop on the highest assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side

Duhooran walahum AAathabun wasibun

Outcast, and theirs is a constant (or painful) torment.

Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment,

அவர்களுக்கு நிலையான வேதனையுண்டு.

(அவர்கள்) துரத்தப்படுகிறார்கள்; அவர்களுக்கு நிலையான வேதனையுமுண்டு.

விரட்டப்படுவதற்காக (எறியப்படுவார்கள்), அவர்களுக்கு நிலையான வேதனையுமுண்டு.

to repel them; and for them there will be a perpetual punishment,

Illa man khatifa alkhatfata faatbaAAahu shihabun thaqibun

Except such as snatch away something by stealing, and they are pursued by a flaming fire of piercing brightness.

Except one who snatches [some words] by theft, but they are pursued by a burning flame, piercing [in brightness].

(தப்பித் தவறி யாதொரு வார்த்தையை) இறாய்ஞ்சிச் செல்ல நெருங்கினால், உடனே அவனை(க் கொழுந்துவிட்டெரியும்) பிரகாசமான நெருப்பு பின்தொடர்கிறது.

(ஏதேனும் செய்தியை) இறாய்ஞ்சிச் செல்ல முற்பட்டால், அப்பொழுது அவனைப் பிரகாச தீப்பந்தம் பின்தொடரும்.

(திருட்டுத்தனமாக ஏதேனும்) செய்தியை இராய்ஞ்சிச் செல்பவனைத் தவிர _ அப்போது பிரகாசமான தீப்பந்தம் அவனைப் பின் தொடரும்.

except who stealthily snatches away some words, he will be pursued by a piercing flame.

Faistaftihim ahum ashaddu khalqan am man khalaqna inna khalaqnahum min teenin lazibin

Then ask them (i.e. these polytheists, O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "Are they stronger as creation, or those (others like the heavens and the earth and the mountains) whom We have created?" Verily, We created them of a sticky clay.

Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay.

(நபியே!) இந்நிராகரிப்பவர்களை நீங்கள் கேளுங்கள்: (இறந்த பின்) உங்களைப் படைப்பது கஷ்டமா? அல்லது நாம் படைத்திருக்கும் (வானம், பூமி, நட்சத்திரங்கள் ஆகிய) இவைகளைப் படைப்பது கஷ்டமா? நிச்சயமாக நாம் இவர்களைப் பிசு பிசுப்பான களிமண்ணால்தான் படைத்திருக்கின்றோம்.

ஆகவே, “படைப்பால் அவர்கள் வலியவர்களா அல்லது நாம் படைத்திருக்கும் (வானம், பூமி போன்றவையா) என்று (நிராகரிப்போரிடம் நபியே!) நீர் கேட்பீராக! நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்களைப் பிசுபிசுப்பன களிமண்ணால்தான் படைத்திருக்கின்றோம்.

ஆகவே “படைப்பால் அவர்கள் மிகக் கடினமானவர்களா? அல்லது நாம் படைத்திருப்பைவைகளா?” என இவர்களிடம் (நபியே! நீர்) விளக்கம் கேட்பீராக! நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்களை பிசு பிசுப்பான களிமண்ணால் படைத்திருக்கின்றோம்.

So ask them, “Are they more difficult to create or other things We created? We created them from sticky clay.

Bal AAajibta wayaskharoona

. Nay, you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) wondered (at their insolence) while they mock (at you and at the Qur'ân).

But you wonder, while they mock,

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வின் வல்லமையைக் கண்டு) ஆச்சரியப்படுகின்றீர்கள்; அவர்களோ (அதனைப்) பரிகசிக் கின்றனர்.

(நபியே! அல்லாஹ்வின் வல்லமையைக் கண்டு) நீர் ஆச்சரியப்படுகிறீர்; (ஆனால்) அவர்கள் பரிகாசம் செய்கின்றனர்.

எனினும், (நபியே!) நீர் ஆச்சரியப்படுகின்றீர்; அவர்களோ, (அதனைப்) பரிகசிக்கின்றனர்.

Rather you are astonished, while they ridicule it,

Waitha thukkiroo la yathkuroona

And when they are reminded, they pay no attention.

And when they are reminded, they remember not.

அன்றி, அவர்களுக்கு நல்லுபதேசம் கூறியபோதிலும் அவர்கள் நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெறுவதேயில்லை.

அன்றியும், அவர்களுக்கு நினைவூட்டப்பட்டாலும், (அதனை) அவர்கள் நினைவிலிறுத்திக் கொள்வதில்லை.

அன்றியும், அவர்கள் உபதேசிக்கப்பட்டால், அவர்கள் உபதேசம் பெறமாட்டார்கள்.

and when they are reminded, they pay no heed,

Waitha raaw ayatan yastaskhiroona

And when they see an Ayâh (a sign, or an evidence) from Allâh, they mock at it.

And when they see a sign, they ridicule

எந்த அத்தாட்சியைக் கண்டபோதிலும் அவர்கள் பரிகாசம் செய்கின்றனர்.

அவர்கள் (ஏதேனும்) ஓர் அத்தாட்சியைக் கண்டாலும், (அதை) மெத்தப்பரிகாசம் செய்கின்றனர்.

எந்த அத்தாட்சியைக் கண்டபோதிலும் அவர்கள் அளவு கடந்து பரிகாசம் செய்கின்றனர்.

and when they see a sign, they ridicule it,

Waqaloo in hatha illa sihrun mubeenun

And they say: "This is nothing but evident magic!

And say, "This is not but obvious magic.

அன்றி "இது பகிரங்கமான சூனியமேயன்றி வேறில்லை" என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர்.

“இது பகிரங்கமான சூனியமேயன்றி வேறில்லை” என்றும் அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர்.

“இது பகிரங்கமான சூனியமே தவிர (வேறு) இல்லை” என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர்.

and they say, “This is nothing but clear magic.

Aitha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman ainna lamabAAoothoona

"When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we (then) verily be resurrected?

When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?

"நாம் இறந்து (உக்கி) எலும்பாகவும் மண்ணாகவும், போன பின்னர் மெய்யாகவே நாம் எழுப்பப்படுவோமா? (என்றும்)

“நாங்கள் இறந்து, மண்ணாகவும் எலும்புகளாகவும் நாங்கள் ஆகிவிட்டாலும், மெய்யாகவே (நாங்கள் மீண்டும் உயிர்ப்பித்து) எழுப்பப்படுபவர்களா? (என்றும் கேட்கின்றனர்.)

நாம் இறந்து மண்ணாகவும், எலும்புகளாகவும் நாங்கள் ஆகிவிட்டாலும், (பின்னர்) நிச்சயமாக நாம் எழுப்பப்படுவோர்களா? (என்றும் கேட்கின்றனர்).

Is it that when we are dead and become dust and bones, will we really be raised up again,

Awaabaona alawwaloona

"And also our fathers of old?"

And our forefathers [as well]?"

(அவ்வாறே) நம்முடைய மூதாதைகளுமா? (எழுப்பப் படுவார்கள்" என்றும் பரிகாசமாகக் கூறுகின்றனர்.)

“அவ்வாறே, முந்தைய நம் தந்தையர்களுமா? (எழுப்பப்படுவார்கள்? என்றும் கேட்கின்றனர்.)

“எம்முடைய முன்னோர்களான மூதாதையர்களுமா? (எழுப்பப்படுவார்கள்)” என்றும் கேட்கின்றனர்.

and our forefathers too?”

Qul naAAam waantum dakhiroona

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "Yes, and you shall then be humiliated."

Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible."

அதற்கு (நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "மெய்தான். (எழுப்பப்படுவீர்கள்.) அச்சமயம் நீங்கள் சிறுமைப்பட்டவர்களாக இருப்பீர்கள்.

“ஆம்! (உங்கள் செயல்களின் காரணமாக) நீங்கள் சிறுமையடைந்தவர்களா(கவும் எழுப்பப்படு)வீர்கள்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்.

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக:”ஆம்! நீங்களும் சிறுமைப்பட்டவர்களாக (எழுப்பப்படுவீர்கள்).

Say, “Yes, and you will be disgraced.”

Fainnama hiya zajratun wahidatun faitha hum yanthuroona

It will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e. the second blowing of the Trumpet)], and behold, they will be staring!

It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing.

அது ஒரே ஒரு சப்தம்தான்; உடனே அவர்கள் (எழுந்து நின்று திருதிருவென்று) விழிப்பார்கள்.

ஒரே சப்தம் தான்! உடனே அவர்கள் (திடுக்கிட்டு எழுந்து) பார்ப்பார்கள்.

அதுவெல்லாம் ஒரே ஒரு சப்தம்தான், உடனே அவர்கள் (எழுந்து மறுமை நாள் நிலைபெற்றுவிட்டதைப்) பார்ப்பார்கள்.

It will only be a single Blast, and at once they will be looking around.

Waqaloo ya waylana hatha yawmu alddeeni

They will say: "Woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense!"

They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense."

நாங்கள் கெட்டோம்! இது கூலி கொடுக்கும் நாளாயிற்றே" என்றும் அவர்கள் கூறுவார்கள்.

(அவ்வேளை) “எங்களுடைய கேடே! இது கூலி கொடுக்கும் நாளாயிற்றே” என்று அவர்கள் கூறுவர்.

“எங்களுடைய கேடே! இது கூலி கொடுக்கப்படும் நாள் (ஆயிற்றே!)” என்றும் அவர்கள் கூறுவார்கள்.

They will say, “Woe to us! This is the Day of Judgment!”

Hatha yawmu alfasli allathee kuntum bihi tukaththiboona

(It will be said): "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny."

[They will be told], "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny."

(அதற்கவர்களை நோக்கி) "நீங்கள் பொய்யாக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்த தீர்ப்பு நாள் இதுதான்" (என்றும் கூறப்படும்).

“நீங்கள் பொய்ப்பிக்க முற்பட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தீர்களே அந்தத் தீர்ப்பு நாள் இதுதான்!” (என்று அவர்களுக்குக் கூறப்படும்.)  

“எதை நீங்கள் பொய்யாக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தீர்களோ அந்தத் தீர்ப்பு நாள் இதுதான்” (என்று அவர்களிடம் கூறப்படும்).

[They will be told], “This is the Day of Decision that you used to deny.”

Ohshuroo allatheena thalamoo waazwajahum wama kanoo yaAAbudoona

(It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship,

[The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship

அநியாயம் செய்தவர்களையும், அவர்களுடைய தோழர்களையும், அல்லாஹ்வை அன்றி அவர்கள் வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்த தெய்வங்களையும் ஒன்று சேர்த்து,

“அநியாயம் செய்தார்களே அவர்களையும் அவர்களுடைய துணைகளையும், அவர்கள் வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தவற்றையும் ஒன்று சேருங்கள்.

“அநியாயம் செய்தார்களே அவர்களையும், (அநியாயம் செய்வதில் அவர்களுக்கு நிகரானவர்களான) அவர்களின் துணைவர்களையும், அவர்கள் வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தார்களே அவர்களையும் ஒன்று திரட்டுங்கள்”.

[The angels will be told], “Gather all those who did wrong and their fellows, and whatever they used to worship

Min dooni Allahi faihdoohum ila sirati aljaheemi

"Instead of Allâh, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell);

Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire

"அவர்களை நரகத்திற்குக் கொண்டு செல்லுங்கள்" (என்றும்),

“அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி (அவர்கள் வழிபட்டவை அவை); பின்னர் அவர்களை, நரகத்தின் பாதைக்கு கொண்டு செல்லுங்கள்.

“அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி (வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தவர்களையும் ஒன்று திரட்டுங்கள்) பின்னர் அவர்களுக்கு நரகத்தின் பாதையின்பால் வழிகாட்டுங்கள்.

besides Allah, and lead them to the way of Hell,

Waqifoohum innahum masooloona

"But stop them, verily, they are to be questioned.

And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned."

"அங்கு அவர்களை நிறுத்தி வையுங்கள்; நிச்சயமாக அவர்களைக் (கேள்வி கணக்குக்) கேட்க வேண்டியதிருக்கின்றது" (என்றும் கூறப்படும்).

“இன்னும், அவர்களை (அங்கே) நிறுத்தி வையுங்கள்; அவர்கள் நிச்சயமாகக் (கேள்வி கணக்குக்) கேட்கப்பட வேண்டியவர்கள்” (என்று மலக்குகளுக்குக் கூறப்படும்)

(அங்கு) அவர்களை நிறுத்தியும் வையுங்கள், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் (கேள்வி கணக்குக்) கேட்கப்பட வேண்டியவர்கள் (என்றும் கூறப்படும்).

and stop them, for they are to be questioned.”

Ma lakum la tanasaroona

"What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?"

[They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?"

"உங்களுக்கு என்ன நேர்ந்தது? (உலகத்தில் நீங்கள் ஒருவருக்கொருவர் உதவி செய்து கொண்டிருந்தபடி இங்கு) நீங்கள் ஏன் ஒருவருக்கொருவர் உதவி செய்து கொள்ளவில்லை" (என்றும் கேட்கப்படும்).

“உங்களுக்கு என்ன நேர்ந்தது? நீங்கள் ஏன் ஒருவருக்கொருவர் (உலகில் செய்தது போன்று) உதவி செய்து கொள்ளவில்லை?” (என்று கேட்கப்படும்).

உங்களுக்கு என்ன நேர்ந்தது? நீங்கள் ஏன் ஒருவருக்கொருவர் (உலகில் உதவி செய்தது போன்று) உதவி செய்து கொள்ளவில்லை? (என்றும் கேட்கப்படும்).

[They will be asked], “What is the matter with you, that you no longer help one another?”

Bal humu alyawma mustaslimoona

Nay, but that Day they shall surrender.

But they, that Day, are in surrender.

எனினும், அன்றைய தினம் அவர்கள் தலை குனிந்த வர்களாக இருப்பார்கள்.

ஆனால் அவர்கள் அந்நாளில் (எதுவும் செய்ய இயலாது தலை குனிந்து) கீழ்படிந்தவர்களாக இருப்பார்கள்.

இல்லை, இன்றையத்தினம் அவர்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) சரணடைந்தவர்களாக இருப்பார்கள்.

Rather on that Day they will surrender completely.

Waaqbala baAAduhum AAala baAAdin yatasaaloona

And they will turn to one another and question one another.

And they will approach one another blaming each other.

அவர்களில் ஒருவர் மற்றொருவருடன் தர்க்கிக்க முற்பட்டு,

அவர்களில் சிலர் சிலரை முன்னோக்கி, ஒருவரை ஒருவர் கேள்வி கேட்டு(த் தர்க்கித்துக்) கொண்டும் இருப்பார்கள்.

இன்னும், அவர்களில் சிலர் சிலரை முன்னோக்க்கிக் (கேள்விகளைக்) கேட்டுக் கொள்வார்கள்.

They will turn to one another, reproaching one another.

Qaloo innakum kuntum tatoonana AAani alyameeni

They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side (i.e., from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, enjoin on us polytheism, and stop us from the truth, i.e. Islâmic Monotheism and from every good deed)."

They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right."

(சிலர் தங்கள் தலைவர்களை நோக்கி) "நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் நம்மிடம் பலவந்தமாகவே வந்(து உங்களுக்கு வழிப்படும்படி எங்களை நிர்ப்பந்தித்)தீர்கள்" என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

(தம் தலைவர்களை நோக்கி:) “நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் வலப்புறத்திலிருந்து (சக்தியுடன்) எங்களிடம் வருகிறவர்களாக இருந்தீர்கள்” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

“வலப்பக்கத்திலிருந்து எங்களிடம் (உங்கள் பலத்தால் நல்லவற்றைச் செய்வதிலிருந்து தடுத்தும், இஸ்லாத்தை ஏற்றுக் கொள்வதிலிருந்து எங்களைத் திருப்பி விட்டும்) வருபவர்களாகவும் இருந்தீர்கள்” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.(19)

[The followers] will say, “It was you who used to delude us from the right way.”

Qaloo bal lam takoonoo mumineena

They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers.

The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers,

அதற்கு அ(த்தலை)வர்கள் "அவ்வாறன்று. (நாங்கள் உங்களைத் தடை செய்யவில்லை.) நீங்கள்தாம் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளவில்லை."

(“அப்படியல்ல!) நீங்கள் தாம் முஃமின்களாக - நம்பிக்கை கொண்டோராய் - இருக்கவில்லை!” என்று அ(த்தலை)வர்கள் கூறுவர்.

(அதற்கு) “அவ்வாறல்ல! நீங்கள் தாம் விசுவசங்கொண்டவர்களாக இருக்கவில்லை” என்று அ(த்தலை)வர்கள் கூறுவார்கள்.

[The misleaders] will say, “Rather, you yourselves were not believers,

Wama kana lana AAalaykum min sultanin bal kuntum qawman tagheena

"And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were Tâghûn (transgressing) people (polytheists, and disbelievers).

And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people.

"எங்களுக்கு உங்கள் மீது யாதொரு அதிகாரமும் இருக்கவில்லை. நீங்கள்தாம் பொல்லாத மக்களாக இருந்தீர்கள்.

“அன்றியும் உங்கள் மீது எங்களுக்கு எவ்வித அதிகாரமும் இருக்கவில்லை; எனினும் நீங்கள் தாம் வரம்பு கடந்து பாவம் செய்யும் கூட்டத்தாராக இருந்தீர்கள்.”

எங்களுக்கு உங்கள் யாதோர் அதிகாரமும் இருக்கவில்லை எனினும் நீங்கள் தாம் வரம்பு கடந்த கூட்டத்தாராக இருந்தீர்கள்.

and We had no power over you, rather you yourselves were a transgressing people.

Fahaqqa AAalayna qawlu rabbina inna lathaiqoona

"So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment).

So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment].

ஆதலால், எங்கள் இறைவனுடைய வாக்கு எங்களுக்கு உண்மையாகி விட்டது. நிச்சயமாக நாம் அனைவரும் (வேதனையைச்) சுவைக்க வேண்டியவர்களே.

ஆகையால், எங்கள் இறைவனுடைய வாக்கு எங்கள் மீது உண்மையாகி விட்டது; நிச்சயமாக நாம் (யாவரும் வேதனையைச்) சுவைப்பவர்கள் தாம்!

“ஆதலால், எங்கள் இரட்சகனுடைய வாக்கு எங்கள் மீது உண்மையாகி விட்டது, நிச்சயமாக நாம் (வேதனையச்) சுவைக்க வேண்டியவர்கள்தாம்.

Now the punishment of our Lord has come true against us; we will surely taste it.

Faaghwaynakum inna kunna ghaweena

"So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray."

And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators."

நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் உங்களை வழிகெடுத்தோம். ஏனென்றால், நாங்கள் வழிகெட்டே போயிருந்தோம் என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

“(ஆம்) நாங்கள் உங்களை வழிகெடுத்தோம்; நிச்சயமாக நாங்களே வழிகெட்டுத்தான் இருந்தோம்.”

“(ஆம்!) உங்களை நாங்கள் வழிகெடுத்தோம்: (ஏனென்றால்) நிச்சயமாக நாங்களும் வழிகெட்டுப் போயிருந்தோம்” (என்று கூறுவார்கள்).

We did misguide you, for we ourselves were misguided”.

Fainnahum yawmaithin fee alAAathabi mushtarikoona

Then verily, that Day, they will (all) share in the torment.

So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment.

முடிவில் நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் அனைவரும் அன்றைய தினம் வேதனையில் (சம) பங்காளியாக இருப்பார்கள்.

ஆகவே, அந்நாளில் நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் வேதனையில் கூட்டானவர்களாகவே இருப்பார்கள்.

எனவே, நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் அந்நாளில் வேதனையில் கூட்டானவர்களாகவே இருப்பர்.

On that Day they will all share in the punishment.

Inna kathalika nafAAalu bialmujrimeena

Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimûn (polytheists, sinners, disbelievers, criminals, the disobedient to Allâh).

Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals.

நிச்சயமாக நாம், குற்றவாளிகளை இவ்வாறே நடத்துவோம்.

குற்றவாளிகளை இவ்வாறு தான் நாம் நிச்சயமாக நடத்துவோம்.

நிச்சயமாக நாம் குற்றவாளிகளை இவ்வாறே செய்வோம்.

This is how We deal with the wicked,

Innahum kanoo itha qeela lahum la ilaha illa Allahu yastakbiroona

Truly, when it was said to them: "Lâ ilâha illallâh (none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh)," they puffed themselves up with pride (i.e. denied it).

Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant

"அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர (உங்களுக்கு) வணக்கத்திற்குரிய வேறொரு இறைவன் இல்லை; (அவனையே நீங்கள் வணங்குங்கள்)" என்று அவர்களுக்குக் கூறப்பட்டால், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் கர்வம் கொண்டு,

“அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர நாயன் இல்லை” என்று அவர்களுக்குக் கூறப்பட்டால், மெய்யாகவே அவர்கள் பெருமையடித்தவர்களாக இருந்தனர்.

“அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர வேறொரு (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) நாயன் இல்லை!” என்று அவர்களுக்குக் கூறப்பட்டால், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள், பெருமையடிப்பவர்களாக இருந்தனர்.

for whenever it was said to them, “None has the right to be worshiped except Allah,” they became arrogant,

Wayaqooloona ainna latarikoo alihatina lishaAAirin majnoonin

And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our âlihah (gods) for the sake of a mad poet?"

And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?"

"என்னே! நாங்கள் பைத்தியம் பிடித்த ஒரு கவிஞருக்காக எங்களுடைய தெய்வங்களை மெய்யாகவே விட்டு விடுவோமா?" என்றும் அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர்.

“ஒரு பைத்தியக்காரப் புலவருக்காக நாங்கள் மெய்யாக எங்கள் தெய்வங்களைக் கைவிட்டு விடுகிறவர்களா?” என்றும் அவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்.

“நாங்கள் பைத்தியக்காரரான ஒரு கவிஞருக்காக எங்களுடைய வணக்கத்துக்குரியவர்(களான தெய்வங்)களை நிச்சயமாக விட்டுவிடுகின்றவர்களா?” என்றும் அவர்கள் கூறுபவர்களாக இருந்தனர்.

and said, “Are we going to abandon our gods for a mad poet?”

Bal jaa bialhaqqi wasaddaqa almursaleena

Nay! he (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) has come with the truth (i.e. Allâh's religion – Islâmic Monotheism and this Qur'ân) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allâh's religion – Islâmic Monotheism).

Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers.

"(அவர் பைத்தியக்காரர்) அன்று. அவர் உண்மையையே கொண்டு வந்தார். (தனக்கு முன்னர் வந்த) நபிமார்களையும் அவர் உண்மையாக்கி வைத்தார். (இவற்றை எல்லாம் நீங்கள் பொய்யாக்கி விட்டீர்கள்.)

அப்படியல்ல! அவர் சத்தியத்தையே கொண்டு வந்திருக்கிறார்; அன்றியும் (தமக்கு முன்னர் வந்த) தூதர்களையும் உண்மைப்படுத்துகிறார்.

(அவர் பைத்தியக்காரர்) அல்ல! அவர் உண்மையான(மார்க்கத்)தையே கொண்டு வந்தார், (தனக்கு முன்சென்ற) தூதர்களையும் அவர் உண்மைப்படுத்தினார்.

Rather, he came with the truth and confirmed the messengers.

Innakum lathaiqoo alAAathabi alaleemi

Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment;

Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment,

ஆதலால், நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையை அனுபவிக்க வேண்டியதுதான்.

(இதை நிராகரிப்போராயின்) நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் நோவினை தரும் வேதனையை அனுபவிப்பவர்கள் தாம்.

நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையச் சுவைக்க வேண்டியவர்கள்தாம்.

You will surely taste the painful punishment,

Wama tujzawna illa ma kuntum taAAmaloona

And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allâh's disobedience which you used to do in this world)

And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do -

நீங்கள் செய்துகொண்டிருந்தவைகளுக்கன்றி உங்களுக்குக் கூலி கொடுக்கப்படவில்லை" (என்றும் கூறப்படும்).

ஆனால், நீங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவற்றுக்கன்றி (வேறு) எதற்கும் நீங்கள் கூலி கொடுக்கப்படமாட்டீர்கள்.

நீங்கள் செய்துகொண்டிருந்தவைகளுக்கல்லாமல் (வேறு) எதற்கும் நீங்கள் கூலி கொடுக்கப்படமாட்டீர்கள் (என்றும் கூறப்படும்).

and you will only be recompensed for what you used to do,

Illa AAibada Allahi almukhlaseena

Except the chosen slaves of Allâh (i.e. the true believers of Islâmic Monotheism).

But not the chosen servants of Allah.

கலப்பற்ற மனத்தூய்மையுடைய அல்லாஹ்வுடைய அடியார்களைத் தவிர.

அல்லாஹ்வுடைய அந்தரங்க சுத்தியான அடியார்களோ (எனின்)-

(அல்லாஹ்வால்) தேர்ந்தேடுக்கப்பட்டோரான அல்லாஹ்வின் அடியார்களைத் தவிர,

except the chosen slaves of Allah.

Olaika lahum rizqun maAAloomun

For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise),

Those will have a provision determined -

இத்தகையவர்களுக்கு (அல்லாஹ்வின் புறத்திலிருந்து மேலான) உணவு தயார் செய்யப்படுத்தப்பட்டிருக்கும்.

அவர்களுக்கு அறியப்பட்டுள்ள உணவு அவர்களுக்கு இருக்கிறது.

அத்தகையோர்_அவர்களுக்கு அறியப்பட்டுள்ள உணவு உண்டு.

They will have a known provision,

Fawakihu wahum mukramoona

Fruits; and they shall be honoured,

Fruits; and they will be honored

(இன்பமான) கனிவர்க்கங்கள் கொடுத்துக் கண்ணியப் படுத்தவும் படுவார்கள்.

கனி வகைகள் (அளிக்கப்படும்), இன்னும் அவர்கள் கண்ணியப்படுத்தப்படுவார்கள்;

(அது)கனி(வகை)கள், இன்னும் அவர்கள் கண்ணியப்படுத்தப்படுபவர்கள்.

fruits; and they will be honored

Fee jannati alnnaAAeemi

In the Gardens of Delight (Paradise),

In gardens of pleasure

இன்பம் தரும் சுவனபதியில் இருப்பார்கள்.

இன்பம் அளிக்கும் சுவர்க்கங்களில் -

இன்பம் தரும் சுவனபதிகளில்_

in Gardens of Bliss,

AAala sururin mutaqabileena

Facing one another on thrones.

On thrones facing one another.

கட்டில்களில் ஒருவர் மற்றொருவரை முகம் நோக்கி (உல்லாசமாகப் பேசிக்கொண்டு) உட்கார்ந்திருப்பார்கள்.

ஒருவரையொருவர் முன்னோக்கியவாறு கட்டில்கள் மீது (அமர்ந்திருப்பார்கள்).

கட்டில்கள் மீது (அமர்ந்து) ஒருவர் மற்றொருவரை முன் நோக்கியவர்களாக (உல்லாசமாகப் பேசிக்கொண்டிருப்பார்கள்).

facing one another on couches.

Yutafu AAalayhim bikasin min maAAeenin

Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine –

There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring,

மிகத் தெளிவான ஊற்றுக்களின் பானம் நிறைந்த குவளைகள் அவர்களைச் சுற்றிக்கொண்டே இருக்கும்.

தெளிவான பானம் நிறைந்த குவளைகள் அவர்களைச் சுற்றி கொண்டுவரும்.

சுத்தமான (மது) பானம் நிறைந்த குவளை (சிறார்கள் மூலம்) அவர்களைச் சுற்றி கொண்டுவரப்படும்.

They will be served with a cup of wine from a flowing stream,

Baydaa laththatin lilshsharibeena

White, delicious to the drinkers.

White and delicious to the drinkers;

(அது) மிக்க வெண்மையானதாகவும், குடிப்பவர்களுக்கு மிக்க இன்பமானதாகவும் இருக்கும்.

(அது) மிக்க வெண்மையானது; அருந்துவோருக்கு மதுரமானது.

மிக்க வெண்மையானது (அதை) அருந்துவோருக்கு மதுரமளிக்கக் கூடியதாகும்.

white and delicious for those who drink.

La feeha ghawlun wala hum AAanha yunzafoona

Neither will they have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin) from that nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom.

No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated.

அதில் போதையே இருக்காது; அதனால், அவர்களுடைய அறிவும் நீங்கிவிடாது.

அதில் கெடுதியும் இராது; அதனால் அவர்கள் புத்தி தடுமாறுபவர்களும் அல்லர்.

அதில் கெடுதியும் இருக்காது, அதனால் (போதையுற்று) அவர்கள் மதிமயக்கப்படவும் மாட்டார்கள்.

It will cause no harm, nor will they be intoxicated by it,

WaAAindahum qasiratu alttarfi AAeenun

And beside them will be Qâsirât-at-Tarf [chaste females (wives), restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands)], with wide and beautiful eyes.

And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes,

அவர்களிடத்தில் கீழ் நோக்கிய, அடக்கமான பார்வையையுடைய (ஹுருல் ஈன் என்னும்) கண்ணழகிகளும் இருப்பார்கள்.

இன்னும், அவர்களிடத்தில் அடக்கமான பார்வையும், நெடிய கண்களும் கொண்ட (அமர கன்னியரும்) இருப்பார்கள்.

அவர்களிடத்தில் பார்வை தாழ்த்திய (ஹுருல் ஈன் என்னும்) கண்ணழிகிகளும் இருப்பார்கள்.

and with them will be maidens of modest gaze and beautiful eyes,

Kaannahunna baydun maknoonun

(Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved.

As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected.

அவர்களின் நிறம் (இறக்கைகளில்) மறைக்கப்பட்ட (நெருப்புக் கோழியின் இலேசான மஞ்சள் வர்ணமுடைய) முட்டைகளைப் போலிருக்கும்.

(தூய்மையில் அவர்கள் சிப்பிகளில்) மறைக்கப்பட்ட முத்துக்களைப் போல் இருப்பார்கள்.

அவர்கள் (கறைபடாது) மறைக்கப்பட்ட முட்டைக(ளின் உள்ளிருக்கும் வெள்ளைத் தொளிக)ளைப் போன்று (பாதுகாக்கப்பட்டு)இருப்பர்.

as if they were well-protected eggs.

Faaqbala baAAduhum AAala baAAdin yatasaaloona

Then they will turn to one another, mutually questioning.

And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other.

அவர்களில் ஒருவர் மற்றவர்களை நோக்கி, (இம்மையில் நடைபெற்றவைகளைப் பற்றி மகிழ்ச்சியுடன்) பேசிக் கொண்டிருப்பார்கள்.

(அப்பொழுது) அவர்களில் ஒரு சிலர் சிலரை முன்னோக்கியவாறு பேசிக் கொண்டிருப்பார்கள்.

பின்னர், அவர்களில் சிலர் சிலரை முன்னோக்கியவாறு (உலகத்தில் இருந்த அவர்களின் நிலைபற்றி) ஒருவரை ஒருவர் கேட்டு) (விசாரித்து)க் கொள்வார்கள்.

Then they will turn to one another asking.

Qala qailun minhum innee kana lee qareenun

A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world),

A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth]

அவர்களில் ஒருவர் கூறுவார்: "(இம்மையில்) மெய்யாகவே எனக்கொரு நண்பன் இருந்தான்.

அவர்களில் ஒருவர்; எனக்கு (இம்மையில்) உற்ற நண்பன் ஒருவன் இருந்தான் எனக் கூறுவார்.

அவர்களில் சொல்லக்கூடிய ஒருவர், “நிச்சயமாக நான்_ எனக்கு (இம்மையில்) ஒரு நண்பன் இருந்தான்” எனக் கூறுவார்.

One of them will say, “I had a close friend [in the world]

Yaqoolu ainnaka lamina almusaddiqeena

Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death).

Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe

அவன் என்னை நோக்கி "நிச்சயமாக நீ இதனை நம்புகிறாயா?" என்று கேட்டான்.

(மரணத்திற்குப் பின் உயிர்ப்பிக்கப் படுவோம் என்பதை) உண்மையென ஏற்பவர்களில் நிச்சயமாக நீயும் ஒருவனா எனக் கேட்டான்.

அவன் (என்னிடம் மறுமையை) உண்மைப்படுத்தக்கூடியவர்களில் நிச்சயமாக நீயுமா? எனக்கூறுவான்.

who used to say, ‘Are you one of those who believe

Aitha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman ainna lamadeenoona

"(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?"

That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'"

என்ன! நாம் இறந்து உக்கி எலும்பாகவும், மண்ணாகவும் போனதன் பின்னர் (எழுப்பப்படுவோமா?) நிச்சயமாக (நம்முடைய செயல்களுக்குரிய) கூலிகள் கொடுக்கப்படுவோமா?" என்று (பரிகாசமாகக்) கூறிக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.

“நாம் இறந்து மண்ணாகவும், எலும்புகளாகவுமாகி விட்டபின், (மீண்டும் நாம் உயிர்ப்பிக்கப்பட்டு) கூலி வழங்கப்பெறுவோமா?” என்றும் கேட்டான்.)

நிச்சயமாக நாம் இறந்து மண்ணாகவும், எலும்புகளாகவும், ஆகிவிட்டாலும் (உயிர்ப்பித்து) நாம் கூலி வழங்கப்படுவோரா? (என்றும் கூறுபவனாக இருந்தான்).

that when we die and become dust and bones, shall we be brought for judgment?’”

Qala hal antum muttaliAAoona

(The speaker) said: "Will you look down?"

He will say, "Would you [care to] look?"

"(ஆகவே, அவனை) நீங்கள் பார்க்க விரும்புகின்றீர்களா? என்று கூறி,

(அவ்வாறு கூறியவனை) “நீங்கள் பார்க்(க விரும்பு)கிறீர்களா?” என்றும் கூறுவார்.

(ஆகவே அவனை) நீங்கள் எட்டிப்பார்க்(கவிரும்பு)கின்றீர்களா? என்று கேட்டார்.

He will say, “Do you wish to see [his fate]?”

FaittalaAAa faraahu fee sawai aljaheemi

So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire.

And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire.

அவனை எட்டிப் பார்த்து, அவன் நரகத்தின் மத்தியில் இருப்பதைக் கண்டு,

அவர் (கீழே) நோக்கினார்; அவனை நரகத்தின் நடுவில் பார்த்தார்.

பிறகு அவர் எட்டிப் பார்க்கிறார்: அப்போது அவனை நரகத்தின் மத்தியில் அவர் காண்கிறார்.

So he will look down and see him in the midst of the Blazing Fire.

Qala taAllahi in kidta laturdeeni

He said: "By Allâh! You have nearly ruined me.

He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me.

(அவனை நோக்கி) "அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது சத்தியமாக! நீ என்னை அழித்துவிடவே கருதினாய்."

(அவனிடம்) “அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது சத்தியமாக! நீ என்னை அழித்துவிட முற்பட்டாயே!

(அவனிடம்) “அல்லாஹ்வின்மீது சத்தியமாக, நீ என்னை (உலகில் இருக்கும் போது வழி கெடுத்து நரகக்) குழியில் தள்ளிவிடவே எத்தனித்தாய்” என்று கூறுவார்.

He will say, “By Allah, you were about to ruin me.

Walawla niAAmatu rabbee lakuntu mina almuhdareena

"Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)."

If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell].

"என் இறைவனுடைய அருள் எனக்குக் கிடைக்காதிருந்தால், நானும் (உன்னுடன் நரகத்தில்) சேர்க்கப்பட்டே இருப்பேன்.

“என் இறைவனுடைய அருள் இல்லாதிருந்தால், நானும் (நரகத்திற்குக்) கொண்டு வரப்பட்டவர்களில் ஒருவனாகியிருப்பேன்.

“என் இரட்சகனுடைய அருள் (என்மீது) இல்லாதிருந்தால், நானும், (நரகத்திற்கு) ஆஜர்படுத்தப்பட்டவர்களில் ஒருவனாக இருந்திருப்பேன்” (என்றும் கூறுவார்).

Were it not for the grace of my Lord, I would have been among those who are brought [to Hell].”

Afama nahnu bimayyiteena

(The dwellers of Paradise will say:) "Are we then not to die (any more)?

Then, are we not to die

(இதற்கு முன்னர்) நாம் இறந்துவிடவில்லையா?

“(மற்றொரு முறையும்) நாம் இறந்து விடுவோமா?

(பின்னர் சுவர்க்கவாசிகளிடம்,) “நாம் (மற்றொரு முறையும்) இறந்து விடுபவர்கள் இல்லையே? (என்பார்).

[He will say to his fellow believers], “Are we not going to die anymore,

Illa mawtatana aloola wama nahnu bimuAAaththabeena

"Except our first death, and we shall not be punished? (after we have entered Paradise)."

Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?"

(பின்னர் உயிர் பெற்றிருக்கும் நமக்கு) முந்திய மரணத்தைத் தவிர வேறில்லை. (இனி நாம் இறக்கவே மாட்டோம். சுவனபதியில் இருக்கும்) நாம் வேதனைக்கு உள்ளாக்கப்படவும் மாட்டோம்" (என்றும் கூறுவார்).

“(இல்லை) நமக்கு முந்திய மரணத்தைத் தவிர வேறில்லை; அன்றியும், நாம் வேதனை செய்யப்படுபவர்களும் அல்லர்” என்று கூறுவார்.

“நம்முடைய முந்தைய மரணத்தைத் தவிர (வேறில்லை), நாம் வேதனை செய்யப்படுபவர்களும் அல்லர் (என்றும் சுவனவாசிகள் கூறுவர்).

except our first death, nor are we going to be punished ?”

Inna hatha lahuwa alfawzu alAAatheemu

Truly, this is the supreme success!

Indeed, this is the great attainment.

நிச்சயமாக இது மகத்தானதொரு பாக்கியமாகும்.

நிச்சயமாக இதுதான் மகத்தான வெற்றியாகும்.

நிச்சயமாக இதுவே மகத்தானதொரு வெற்றியாகும்!

This is indeed the supreme triumph!

Limithli hatha falyaAAmali alAAamiloona

For the like of this let the workers work.

For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work.

ஏதும் நன்மை செய்யக்கூடியவர்கள் எல்லோரும் இதைப்போன்ற (நற்பேறுகளை பெறுவதற்காக) பாடுபடவும்.

எனவே பாடுபடுபவர்கள் இது போன்றதற்காகவே பாடுபடவேண்டும்.

இது போன்றதற்காகவே, செயல்படக்கூடியவர்கள் செயல்படவும்.

For such [reward] let the workers work.

Athalika khayrun nuzulan am shajaratu alzzaqqoomi

Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqûm (a horrible tree in Hell)?

Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum?

(அல்லாஹ்வின் புறத்திலிருந்து கிடைக்கும்) இது மேலான விருந்தா? அல்லது (நரகத்திலிருக்கும்) கள்ளி மரம் மேலான விருந்தா?

அது சிறப்பான விருந்தா? அல்லது (நரகத்திலிருக்கும் கள்ளி) “ஜக்கூம்” என்ற மரமா?

(அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து கிடைக்கும்) விருந்துபசாரத்தால் அது சிறந்ததா? அல்லது (நரகத்திலிருக்கும்) கள்ளி மரமா?

Is this a better accommodation or the tree of Zaqqūm?

Inna jaAAalnaha fitnatan lilththalimeena

Truly, We have made it (as) a trial for the Zâlimûn (polytheists, disbelievers, wrongdoers).

Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers.

(மனிதர்களே!) நிச்சயமாக நாம் அதனை இந்த அநியாயக்காரர்களை வேதனை செய்வதற்காகவே உண்டுபண்ணி இருக்கிறோம்.

நிச்சயமாக நாம் அதை அநியாயக்காரர்களுக்கு ஒரு சோதனையாகவே செய்திருக்கிறோம்.

நிச்சயமாக நாம் அதனை, அநியாயகாரர்களுக்கு ஒரு சோதனையாகவே ஆக்கியிருக்கின்றோம்.

We have made it a trial for the wrongdoers.

Innaha shajaratun takhruju fee asli aljaheemi

Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire,

Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire,

மெய்யாகவே அது நரகத்தின் அடித்தளத்திலிருந்து வெளிப்பட்ட ஒரு மரமாகும்.

மெய்யாகவே அது நரகத்தின் அடித்தளத்திலிருந்து வளரும் மரமாகும்.

நிச்சயமாக அது, நரகத்தின் அடித் தளத்திலிருந்து வெளிப்படும் ஒரு மரமாகும்.

It is a tree that grows in the bottom of the Blazing Fire;

TalAAuha kaannahu ruoosu alshshayateeni

The shoots of its fruit stalks are like the heads of Shayâtîn (devils);

Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils.

அதன் கிளைகள் ஷைத்தானின் தலைகளைப் போல் இருக்கும்.

அதன் பாளைகள் ஷைத்தான்களின் தலைகளைப் போலிருக்கும்.

(குழைகளுக்கொப்பான) அதன் பழங்கள், நிச்சயமாக ஷைத்தான்களின் தலைகளைப்போலிருக்கும்.

its fruits are like heads of devils.

Fainnahum laakiloona minha famalioona minha albutoona

Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith.

And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies.

நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் (தங்கள் பசிக்கொடுமையினால்) அதனை புசிப்பார்கள்! இன்னும் அதிலிருந்தே (தங்கள்) வயிற்றை நிரப்பிக் கொண்டிருப்பார்கள்.

நிச்சயமாக, அவர்கள் அதிலிருந்தே புசிப்பார்கள்; அதைக்கொண்டு தங்களுடைய வயிறுகளை நிரப்பிக் கொள்வார்கள்.

எனவே, நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள், திட்டமாக அதிலிருந்து உண்ணக் கூடியவர்கள், பின்னர் அதிலிருந்து வயிறுகளை நிரப்பிக் கொள்ளக் கூடியவர்கள்.

They will certainly eat from it, filling their bellies.

Thumma inna lahum AAalayha lashawban min hameemin

Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqûm in their bellies).

Then indeed, they will have after it a mixture of scalding water.

பின்னர், அதற்கு மேலும் நரகத்தில் கொதித்துக் காய்ந்திருக்கும் (சீழ் கலந்த) தண்ணீரே அவர்களுக்கு குடிப்பாகக் கொடுக்கப்படும்.

பின்னர், நிச்சயமாக அவர்களுக்குக் குடிக்க, கொதிக்கும் நீர் கொடுக்கப்படும்.

பின்னர், நிச்சயமாக அதற்குமேல் கடுமையாகக் கொதிக்கவைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள நீரிலிருந்து கலப்பு (பானமு)ம் அவர்களுக்கு உண்டு.

Then on top of that they will be given a mixture of scalding water,

Thumma inna marjiAAahum laila aljaheemi

Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell.

Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire.

(இவைகளைப் புசித்துக் குடித்த பின்னர்,) நிச்சயமாக "ஜஹீம்" என்ற நரகத்திற்கே திருப்பப்படுவார்கள்.

அதன் பின்னர் அவர்கள் மீளும் தலம் நிச்சயமாக நரகம்தான்.

பின்னர், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் திரும்பிச் செல்லுமிடம் நரகத்தின் பாலாகும்.

then their final return will be to the Blazing Fire.

Innahum alfaw abaahum dalleena

Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path;

Indeed they found their fathers astray.

இவர்கள் தங்கள் மூதாதைகளை மெய்யாகவே வழி கெட்டவர்களாகக் கண்டு கொண்டார்கள்.

நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் தம் மூதாதையர்களை வழி கேட்டிலேயே கண்டார்கள்.

நிச்சயமாக, இவர்கள் தங்கள் மூதாதையரை வழிகெட்டவர்களாகக் கண்டார்கள்.

For they found their forefathers astray,

Fahum AAala atharihim yuhraAAoona

So they (too) hastened in their footsteps!

So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps.

அவ்வாறிருந்தும், அவர்களுடைய அடிச்சுவட்டையே இவர்கள் பின்பற்றி ஓடினார்கள்.

ஆகையால், அவர்களுடைய அடிச்சுவடுகள் மீதே இவர்களும் விரைந்தார்கள்.

ஆகவே, அவர்களுடைய அடிச்சுவடுகளின் மீதே இவர்கள் விரைந்து செல்ல தூண்டப்பட்டார்கள்.

so they rushed to follow in their footsteps.

Walaqad dalla qablahum aktharu alawwaleena

And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them;

And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples,

இவர்களுக்கு முன்னிருந்த பெரும்பாலானவர்களும் (இவ்வாறே) தவறான வழியில் சென்றனர்.

இன்னும், இவர்களுக்கு முன்னரும் அப்பண்டைய மக்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் வழி கெட்டிருந்தனர்.

முன்னோர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் (இவ்வாறே) அவர்களுக்கு முன்னரும் திட்டமாக வழி கெட்டிருந்தனர்.

Indeed, most of the earlier people went astray before them,

Walaqad arsalna feehim munthireena

And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers);

And We had already sent among them warners.

நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்களுக்கும் அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கும் (நம்முடைய) தூதர்களை அனுப்பியே வைத்தோம்.

மேலும், நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்களிடையே அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிப்பவர்களை அனுப்பினோம்.

மேலும், அவர்களுக்கிடையே அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கக்கூடியவர்களை திட்டமாக நாம் அனுப்பி வைத்தோம்.

even though We sent among them warners.

Faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almunthareena

Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not).

Then look how was the end of those who were warned -

ஆகவே, அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்யப்பட்ட இவர்களுடைய முடிவு எவ்வாறாயிற்று என்பதை (நபியே!) நீங்கள் பாருங்கள்.

பிறகு, அவ்வாறு அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கப்பட்டவர்களின் முடிவு என்னவாயிற்றென்று (நபியே!) நீர் பாரும்.

ஆகவே, “அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்யப்பட்டவர்களுடைய முடிவு எப்படி இருந்தது” என்பதை (நபியே!) நீர் காண்பீராக!

Then see how was the end of those who were warned,

Illa AAibada Allahi almukhlaseena

Except the chosen slaves of Allâh (faithful, obedient and true believers of Islâmic Monotheism).

But not the chosen servants of Allah.

அல்லாஹ்வுடைய பரிசுத்த எண்ணமுள்ள அடியார்களைத் தவிர, (மற்றவர்கள் எல்லோரும்) நம்முடைய வேதனைக்கு உள்ளாவார்கள்.

அல்லாஹ்வுடைய அந்தரங்க சுத்தியான அடியார்களைத் தவிர.  

தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட அல்லாஹ்வுடைய அடியார்களைத் தவிர.

except the chosen slaves of Allah.

Walaqad nadana noohun falaniAAma almujeeboona

And indeed Nûh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request).

And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders.

நூஹ் (நபி) நம்மிடம் (உதவி கோரி) பிரார்த்தனை செய்தார். (நாமோ) பிரார்த்தனைகளை அங்கீகரிப்பவர்களில் மிக்க நல்லவர்.

அன்றியும் நூஹ் நம்மைப் பிரார்த்தித்தார்; பிரார்த்தனைக்கு பதிலளிப்பதில் நாமே சிறந்தோர் ஆவோம்.

மேலும், நூஹ் நம்மைத் திட்டமாக அழைத்தார், (நாமே) பதிலளிப்போரில் மிக நல்லோர் (ஆவோம்).

Indeed, Noah called upon Us; how excellent are We at responding!

Wanajjaynahu waahlahu mina alkarbi alAAatheemi

And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning),

And We saved him and his family from the great affliction.

ஆகவே, அவரையும் அவருடைய குடும்பத்தாரையும் கடுமையான கஷ்டத்திலிருந்து பாதுகாத்துக் கொண்டோம்.

ஆகவே, நாம் அவரையும் அவருடைய குடும்பத்தாரையும் மிகப்பெருங் கஷ்டத்திலிருந்து பாதுகாத்தோம்.

அவரையும், அவருடைய குடும்பத்தினரையும் மகத்தான (மிகப்பெரும்) கஷ்டத்திலிருந்து காப்பாற்றினோம்.

And We saved him and his household from the great distress,

WajaAAalna thurriyyatahu humu albaqeena

And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth).

And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth]

அவர்களுடைய சந்ததிகளைப் பிற்காலத்தில் என்றுமே நிலைத்திருக்கும்படி செய்தோம்.

மேலும், அவர்களுடைய சந்ததியரை (பிரளயத்திலிருந்து காப்பாற்றி பிற்காலம்) நிலைத்திருக்கும்படி செய்தோம்.

அவருடைய சந்ததியையே எஞ்சியுள்ளோராய் நாம் ஆக்கினோம்.

and made his offspring the only survivors,

Watarakna AAalayhi fee alakhireena

And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among the later generations:

And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations:

அவருடைய கீர்த்தியையும், பின்னுள்ளோர்களில் என்றுமே நிலைத்திருக்கும்படி செய்தோம்.

மேலும், அவருக்காகப் பிற்காலத்தவர்க்கு (ஒரு ஞாபகார்த்தத்தை) விட்டு வைத்தோம்.

மேலும், அவருக்காக (அவருடைய கீர்த்தியை,) பின்னுள்ளோர்களில் (நிலைத்திருக்க) விட்டுவைத்தோம்.

and We left for him [a favorable mention] among later generations:

Salamun AAala noohin fee alAAalameena

"Salâm (peace) be upon Nûh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'آlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists)!"

"Peace upon Noah among the worlds."

"ஸலாம்" ஈடேற்றம் நூஹ்வுக்கு உண்டாவதாக! என்று உலகம் முழுவதிலுமே கூறப்படுகிறது.

“ஸலாமுன் அலாநூஹ்” - அகிலங்கள் எங்கும் நூஹ் மீது ஸலாம் உண்டாவதாக.

அகிலத்தார் அனைத்திலும் நூஹ்மீது ஸலாம் (சாந்தி) உண்டாவதாக.

“Peace be upon Noah among all the nations.”

Inna kathalika najzee almuhsineena

Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinûn (good-doers. See V.2:112).

Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.

இவ்வாறே நன்மை செய்தவர்களுக்கு நாம் கூலி கொடுக்கிறோம்.

இவ்வாறே, நன்மை செய்வோருக்கு நிச்சயமாக நாம் கூலி கொடுக்கிறோம்.

நிச்சயமாக, இவ்வாறே நன்மை செய்கிறவர்களுக்கு நாம் கூலி கொடுக்கிறோம்.

This is how We reward those who do good.

Innahu min AAibadina almumineena

Verily, he [Nûh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves.

Indeed, he was of Our believing servants.

(நூஹ் நபி) நம்பிக்கையுள்ள நமது அடியார்களில் ஒருவராகவே இருந்தார்.

நிச்சயமாக அவர் (நூஹ்) முஃமின்களான நம் நல்லடியார்களில் நின்றுமுள்ளவர்.

நிச்சயமாக அவர் விசுவாசிகளான நம் அடியார்களில் உள்ளவராவார்.

He was one of Our believing slaves.

Thumma aghraqna alakhareena

Then We drowned the others (disbelievers and polytheists).

Then We drowned the disbelievers.

(ஆகவே, அவரையும் அவரைப் பின்பற்றியவர்களையும் தவிர,) மற்றவர்களை (வெள்ளப் பிரளயத்தில்) நாம் மூழ்கடித்து விட்டோம்.

பிறகு நாம் மற்றவர்களை (வெள்ளத்தில்) மூழ்கடித்தோம்.

பின்னர், மற்றவர்களை நாம் மூழ்கடித்துவிட்டோம்.

Then we drowned the others.

Wainna min sheeAAatihi laibraheema

And verily, among those who followed his [Nûh's (Noah's)] way (Islâmic Monotheism) was Ibrâhîm (Abraham).

And indeed, among his kind was Abraham,

இப்ராஹீம் நூஹ் (நபி) உடைய வழியைப் பின்பற்றியவர் தான்.

நிச்சயமாக, இப்ராஹீமும் அவருடைய வழியைப் பின்பற்றியவர்களில் ஒருவர் தாம்.

மேலும், நிச்சயமாக அவருடைய வழியைப் பின் பற்றியவர்களில் உள்ள (ஒரு)வர் தாம் இப்றாஹீம்.

Indeed, Abraham was one of those who followed his way.

Ith jaa rabbahu biqalbin saleemin

When he came to his Lord with a pure heart (attached to Allâh Alone and none else, worshipping none but Allâh Alone – true Islâmic Monotheism, pure from the filth of polytheism).

When he came to his Lord with a sound heart

அவர் (பண்பட்ட) நேரான உள்ளத்துடன் தன் இறைவனிடம் வந்த சமயத்தில்,

அவர் தூய நெஞ்சத்துடன் தம்முடைய இறைவனிடம் வந்தபோது (நபியே! நீர் நினைவு கூர்வீராக).

அவர் தன் இரட்சகனிடம் தூய (பண்பட்ட) இதயத்துடன் வந்த சமயத்தை (நபியே! நினைவு கூர்வீராக!)

When he came to his Lord with a sound heart,

Ith qala liabeehi waqawmihi matha taAAbudoona

When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship?

[And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?

அவர் தன் தந்தையையும், தன் மக்களையும் நோக்கி "நீங்கள் எதனை வணங்குகிறீர்கள்?" என்று கேட்டு,

அவர் தம் தந்தையையும், தம் சமூகத்தாரையும் நோக்கி “நீங்கள் எதனை வணங்குகிறீர்கள்? எனக் கேட்ட போது,

அவர் தம் தந்தை மற்றும் தம் சமூகத்தாரிடம் “எதனை நீங்கள் வணங்குகிறீர்கள்” என்று கூறியபோது.

and said to his father and his people, “What are you worshiping?

Aifkan alihatan doona Allahi tureedoona

"Is it a falsehood – âlihah (gods) other than Allâh – that you desire?

Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire?

"நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி பொய்யான தெய்வங்களையே விரும்புகிறீர்களா?

“அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி பொய்யான தெய்வங்களையா நீங்கள் விரும்புகிறீர்கள்?”

“நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) பொய்யான தெய்வங்களை நாடுகிறீர்களா?”

Is it false gods that you seek other than Allah?

Fama thannukum birabbi alAAalameena

"Then what think you about the Lord of the 'آlamîn (mankind, jinn, and all that exists)?"

Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?"

அவ்வாறாயின், உலகத்தாரைப் படைத்து வளர்த்து வரும் இறைவனைப் பற்றி உங்கள் எண்ணம் என்ன?" என்று கேட்டார்.

“அவ்வாறாயின் அகிலங்களுக்கெல்லாம் இறைவன் பற்றி உங்கள் எண்ணம் தான் என்ன?” (என்று கேட்டார்.)

அவ்வாறாயின், “அகிலத்தாரின் இரட்சகனைப்பற்றி உங்கள் எண்ணமென்ன?” (என்றும் கேட்டார்)

Then what do you think of the Lord of the worlds?”

Fanathara nathratan fee alnnujoomi

Then he cast a glance at the stars,

And he cast a look at the stars

"பின்னர், நட்சத்திரங்களைக் கூர்ந்து பார்த்து,

பின்னர் அவர் நட்சத்திரங்களை ஒரு பார்வை பார்த்தார்.

பின்னர், நட்சத்திரங்களில் (ஆழ்ந்த சிந்தனையோடு) ஒரு பார்வை பார்த்தார்.

He then cast a glance at the stars,

Faqala innee saqeemun

And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague). [He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan feast]."

And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill."

நிச்சயமாக எனக்கு ஒரு நோய் ஏற்படும் போல் இருக்கின்றது" என்று கூறவே,

“நிச்சயமாக நாம் நோயாளியாக இருக்கிறேன்” என்றும் கூறினார்.

பின்னர், நிச்சயமாக நான் நோயுற்றிருக்கிறேன் எனக்கூறினார்.

and said, “I am sick.”

Fatawallaw AAanhu mudbireena

So they turned away from him and departed (for fear of the disease).

So they turned away from him, departing.

அவர்கள் அவரை விட்டுவிட்டு (திருநாள் கொண்டாடச்) சென்றுவிட்டனர்.

எனவே அவரை விட்டும் அ(வருடைய சமூகத்த)வர்கள் திரும்பிச் சென்றனர்.

அவர்கள் அவரை (ஊரில்) விட்டு விட்டு (திருவிழாவிற்கு)ச் சென்று விட்டனர்.

So they went away from him and left.

Faragha ila alihatihim faqala ala takuloona

Then he turned to their âlihah (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)?

Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat?

(பின்னர்) அவர், அவர்களுடைய கோயிலுக்குள் இரகசியமாகச் சென்றார். (விக்கிரகங்களுக்குப் படைக்கப்பட்ட பல வகை உணவுகள் இருக்கக் கண்டு, சிலைகளை நோக்கி) "நீங்கள் இவைகளை ஏன் புசிப்பதில்லை?

அப்பால் அவர்களுடைய தெய்வங்களின் பால் அவர் சென்று; “(உங்களுக்கு முன் படைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள உணவுகளை) நீங்கள் உண்ணமாட்டீர்களா?” என்று கூறினார்.

பின்னர், அவர் அவர்களுடைய வணக்கத்துக்குரியவர்(களான தெய்வங்)களின் பால் (மறைவாகச்) சென்று (அங்கு அவர்களுக்கென படைக்கப் பட்டிருந்தவற்றைச் சுட்டிக்காட்டி) “நீங்கள் உண்ணமாட்டீர்களா?” என்று கேட்டார்.

Then he turned to their gods and said, “Will you not eat?

Ma lakum la tantiqoona

"What is the matter with you that you speak not?"

What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?"

உங்களுக்கு என்ன (நேர்ந்தது)? நீங்கள் ஏன் பேசுவதில்லை?" என்று கேட்டு(ப் பதில் கிடைக்காததனால்,)

“உங்களுக்கு என்ன (நேர்ந்தது)? நீங்கள் ஏன் பேசுகிறீர்களில்லை?” (என்றும் கேட்டார்.)

“உங்களுக்கென்ன (நேர்ந்தது?) நீங்கள் (ஏன்) பேசுவதில்லை?”(என்று கேட்டார்).

What is wrong with you that you do not speak?”

Faragha AAalayhim darban bialyameeni

Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand.

And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand.

அவைகளைப் பலமாக அடித்துத் தாக்கி (நொறுக்கிவிட்டு வெளியில் சென்று) விட்டார்.

பின் அவர் அவற்றின் பக்கம் திரும்பி வலக்கையால் அவற்றை அடித்து (உடைத்து) விட்டார்.

பின்னர் அவற்றின் பால் சென்று தன் வலக்கையினால் அவைகளை அடித்து (உடைத்து) விட்டார்.

Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand.

Faaqbaloo ilayhi yaziffoona

Then they (the worshippers of idols) came towards him hastening.

Then the people came toward him, hastening.

(திருநாள் கொண்டாடச் சென்றவர்கள் திரும்பி வந்து இதனைக் கண்டதும்) இப்ராஹீமிடம் ஓடி வந்து (அதைப் பற்றிக் கேட்கவே)

(அவற்றை வணங்குபவர்கள்) அவர்பால் விரைந்து வந்தார்கள்.

(திருவிழாவிலிருந்து திரும்பி வந்து) அவர்பால் அவர்கள் விரைந்து (ஓடி) வந்தனர்.

Then his people came rushing towards him.

Qala ataAAbudoona ma tanhitoona

He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve?

He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve,

அவர், (அவர்களை நோக்கி) "உங்கள் கைகளால் சித்தரித்த பொம்மைகளை நீங்கள் வணங்குகிறீர்களா?

அவர் கூறினார்! “நீங்கள் செதுக்கிய இவற்றையா வணங்குகிறீர்கள்?”

அவர் (அவர்களிடம்) “நீங்கள் செதுக்கியவைகளை நீங்களே வணங்குகிறீர்களா?” என்று கேட்டார்.

He said, “Do you worship what you yourselves carve,

WaAllahu khalaqakum wama taAAmaloona

"While Allâh has created you and what you make!"

While Allah created you and that which you do?"

உங்களையும், நீங்கள் சித்தரித்த அவைகளையும் அல்லாஹ்வே படைத்தான்" என்றார்.

“உங்களையும், நீங்கள் செய்த(இ)வற்றையும், அல்லாஹ்வே படைத்திருக்கின்றான்.”

“உங்களையும், நீங்கள் செய்கின்றவற்றையும் அல்லாஹ்வே படைத்தான்” (என்றார்).

when it is Allah Who created you and all what you do?”

Qaloo ibnoo lahu bunyanan faalqoohu fee aljaheemi

They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!"

They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire."

(அதற்கு அவர்கள் பதில் கூற வகையறியாது கோபம் கொண்டு,) "இவருக்காகப் பெரியதொரு (நெருப்புக்) கிடங்கை அமைத்து, அந்நெருப்பில் .அவரை எறிந்து விடுங்கள்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

அவர்கள் கூறினார்கள்: “இவருக்காக(ப் பெரியதொரு நெருப்புக்) கிடங்கை அமைத்து எரிநெருப்பில் அவரை எறிந்து விடுங்கள்.”

(அவர்கள் கோபங் கொண்டு) இவருக்காக ஒரு கிடங்கை எழுப்புங்கள், பின்னர், (அதில் நெருப்பை உண்டாக்கி) அந்நெருப்பில் அவரைப்போட்டு விடுங்கள்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

They said, “Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blazing fire.”

Faaradoo bihi kaydan fajaAAalnahumu alasfaleena

So, they plotted a plot against him, but We made them the lowest.

And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased.

இவ்வாறு அவர்கள், அவருக்குத் தீங்கிழைக்கக் கருதினார்கள். எனினும், நாம் அவர்களையே இழிவுபடுத்தி விட்டோம்.

(இவ்வாறாக) அவர்கள் அவருக்குச் சதி செய்ய நாடினார்கள்; ஆனால், நாம் அவர்களையே இழிவுபடுத்தி விட்டோம்.

ஆகவே, அவர்கள் அவருக்குச் சதிசெய்ய நாடினார்கள், ஆனால், நாம் அவர்களை இழிவடைந்தோராய் ஆக்கிவிட்டோம்.

They contrived a plan against him, but We made them the lowest.

Waqala innee thahibun ila rabbee sayahdeeni

And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!"

And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me.

பின்னர், இப்ராஹீம் (அவ்வூரை விட்டு வெளிப்பட்டு,) "நான் என் இறைவனிடமே செல்கின்றேன். அவன் நிச்சயமாக எனக்கு நேரான வழியைக் காண்பிப்பான்" (என்று கூறி,)

மேலும், அவர் கூறினார்: “நிச்சயமாக நாம் என்னுடைய இறைவனிடம் செல்பவன்; திட்டமாக அவன் எனக்கு நேர் வழியைக் காண்பிப்பான்.”

(பின்னர், இப்றாஹீம்) “நிச்சயமாக நான், என் இரட்சகனின்பால் செல்லுகிறேன், அவன் எனக்கு நேர் வழியைக் காண்பிப்பான்” என்றும் கூறினார்.

He said, “I am going to my Lord; He will guide me.

Rabbi hab lee mina alssaliheena

"My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous."

My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous."

"என் இறைவனே! நல்லோர்களில் (ஒருவரை) நீ எனக்கு(ச் சந்ததியாக) வழங்கி அருள் புரிவாயாக!" என்றார்.

“என்னுடைய இறைவா! நீ எனக்கு ஸாலிஹான ஒரு நன்மகனைத் தந்தருள்வாயாக” (என்று பிரார்த்தித்தார்).

“என் இரட்சகனே! நல்லோர்களில் (ஒருவரை) நீ எனக்கு(ச் சந்ததியாகத்) தந்தருள் புரிவாயாக” (என்றார்).

My Lord, grant me righteous offspring.”

Fabashsharnahu bighulamin haleemin

So, We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy.

So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy.

ஆதலால், மிகப் பொறுமையுடைய (இஸ்மாயீல் என்னும்) மகனைக் கொண்டு அவருக்கு நற்செய்தி கூறினோம்.

எனவே, நாம் அவருக்கு பொறுமைசாலியான ஒரு மகனைக் கொண்டு நன்மாராயங் கூறினோம்.

ஆதலால், மிகுந்த சகிப்புத்தன்மையுடைய (இஸ்மாயீல் எனும்) மகனைக் கொண்டு அவருக்கு நன்மாராயம் கூறினோம்.

So We gave him glad tidings of a forbearing boy.

Falamma balagha maAAahu alssaAAya qala ya bunayya innee ara fee almanami annee athbahuka faonthur matha tara qala ya abati ifAAal ma tumaru satajidunee in shaa Allahu mina alssabireena

And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offering you in sacrifice to Allâh). So look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, In shâ' Allâh (if Allâh wills), you shall find me of As-Sâbirûn (the patient)."

And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast."

(அவருடைய அந்த மகன் அவருடன்) நடந்து திரியக்கூடிய வயதை அடைந்த பொழுது, அவர் (தன் மகனை நோக்கி) "என் அருமை மைந்தனே! நான் உன்னை (என்னுடைய கைகொண்டு) அறுத்துப் பலியிடுவதாக மெய்யாகவே நான் என்னுடைய கனவில் கண்டேன். (இதைப் பற்றி) நீ என்ன அபிப்பிராயப்படுகிறாய்?" என்று கேட்டார். அதற்கவர், "என்(னருமைத்) தந்தையே! உங்களுக்கு இடப்பட்ட கட்டளைப்படியே நீங்கள் செய்யுங்கள். அல்லாஹ் அருள் புரிந்தால் (அதனைச் சகித்துக்கொண்டு) உறுதியாயிருப் வனாகவே நீங்கள் என்னைக் காண்பீர்கள்" என்று கூறினார்.

பின் (அம்மகன்) அவருடன் நடமாடக்கூடிய (வயதை அடைந்த) போது அவர் கூறினார்: “என்னருமை மகனே! நான் உன்னை அறுத்து பலியிடுவதாக நிச்சயமாகக் கனவு கண்டேன். இதைப்பற்றி உம் கருத்து என்ன என்பதைச் சிந்திப்பீராக!” (மகன்) கூறினான்; “என்னருமைத் தந்தையே! நீங்கள் ஏவப்பட்டபடியே செய்யுங்கள். அல்லாஹ் நாடினால் - என்னை நீங்கள் பொறுமையாளர்களில் நின்றுமுள்ளவனாகவே காண்பீர்கள்.”

எனவே, (இஸ்மாயீல்) அவருடன் சேர்ந்து உழைக்ககூடிய பருவத்தை அவர் அடைந்தபொழுது, அவர் (தன் மகனிடம்) ”என் அருமை மகனே! நிச்சயமாக நான், உன்னை அறு(த்து)ப் ப(லியிடுவ)தாக, நிச்சயமாக நான் கனவில் கண்டேன், (இதைப் பற்றி) நீ என்ன அபிப்ராயப்படுகிறாய்?” என்று கேட்டார், அ(தற்க)வர், “என் தந்தையே! நீங்கள் ஏவப்பட்டபடியே செய்யுங்கள், அல்லாஹ் நாடினால் என்னை நீங்கள் பொறுமையாளர்களில் உள்ளவனாகக் காண்பீர்கள்” என்று கூறினார்.

Then when he reached the age where he could work with him, Abraham said, “O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice you. What you think?” He said, “O my dear father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, one of the steadfast.”

Falamma aslama watallahu liljabeeni

Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allâh), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering);

And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead,

ஆகவே, அவ்விருவரும் (இறைவனின் விருப்பத்திற்கு) முற்றிலும் வழிப்பட்டு, (இப்ராஹீம் தன் மகன் இஸ்மாயீலை அறுத்துப் பலியிட) முகங்குப்புறக் கிடத்தினார்.

ஆகவே, அவ்விருவரும் (இறைவன் கட்டளைக்கு) முற்றிலும் வழிப்பட்டு, (இப்றாஹீம்) மகனைப் பலியிட முகம் குப்புறக்கிடத்திய போது;

ஆகவே, அவ்விருவரும் (அல்லாஹ்வின் கட்டளைக்கு) முற்றிலும் கீழ்ப்படிந்து, (இப்றாஹீமாகிய) அவர், (இஸ்மாயிலாகிய) அவரை (அறுத்துப் பலியிட) முகங்குப்புறக் கிடத்தியபோது,

When they both submitted [to Allah’s command] and Abraham laid him on his forehead,

Wanadaynahu an ya ibraheemu

We called out to him: "O Ibrâhîm (Abraham)!

We called to him, "O Abraham,

அச்சமயம் நாம் "இப்ராஹீமே!" என அழைத்து,

நாம் அவரை “யா இப்றாஹீம்!” என்றழைத்தோம்.

(அச்சமயம்) நாம் அவரை “இப்றாஹீமே!” என அழைத்தோம்.

and We called out to him, “O Abraham,

Qad saddaqta alrruya inna kathalika najzee almuhsineena

You have fulfilled the dream!" Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinûn (good-doers. See 2:112).

You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.

உண்மையாகவே நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய கனவை மெய்யாக்கி வைத்து விட்டீர்கள் என்றும், நன்மை செய்பவருக்கு நாம் இவ்வாறே கூலி கொடுப்போம்" என்றும் கூறி,

“திடமாக நீர் (கண்ட) கனவை மெய்ப்படுத்தினீர். நிச்சயமாக நன்மை செய்வோருக்கு நாம் இவ்வாறே கூலி கொடுத்திருக்கிறோம்.

“நிச்சயமாக நீர் (உம்முடைய) கனவை உண்மையாக்கி வைத்துவிட்டீர் நிச்சயமாக, நன்மை செய்கிறவர்களுக்கு நாம் இவ்வாறே கூலி கொடுப்போம்.

You have fulfilled the dream.” This is how We reward those who do good.

Inna hatha lahuwa albalao almubeenu

Verily, that indeed was the manifest trial.

Indeed, this was the clear trial.

"நிச்சயமாக இது மகத்தானதொரு பெரும் சோதனையாகும்" (என்றும் கூறினோம்).

“நிச்சயமாக இது தெளிவான ஒரு பெருஞ் சோதனையாகும்.”

“நிச்சயமாக இது_இதுவே தெளிவான பெரும் சோதனையாகும் (என்றும் கூறினோம்).

This was indeed a revealing test.

Wafadaynahu bithibhin AAatheemin

And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram);

And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice,

ஆகவே, மகத்தானதொரு பலியை அவருக்கு பகரமாக்கினோம்.

ஆயினும், நாம் ஒரு மகத்தான பலியைக் கொண்டு அவருக்குப் பகரமாக்கினோம்.

மேலும், (அவருக்கு பதிலாக) ஒரு மகத்தான பலியைக் கொண்டு அவரைப் பகரமாக்கினோம்.

And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice,

Watarakna AAalayhi fee alakhireena

And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among the later generations.

And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations:

அவருடைய கீர்த்தியைப் பிற்காலத்திலும் நிலைக்க வைத்தோம்.

இன்னும் அவருக்காகப் பிற்காலத்தவருக்கு (ஒரு ஞாபகார்த்தத்தை) விட்டு வைத்தோம்:

இன்னும் அவருக்காக (அவரின் கீர்த்தியைப்) பின்னுள்ளோர்களில் (நிலைத்திருக்க) விட்டுவைத்தோம்.

and We left for him [a favorable mention] among later generations:

Salamun AAala ibraheema

"Salâm (peace) be upon Ibrâhîm (Abraham)!"

"Peace upon Abraham."

(ஆகவே, உலகத்திலுள்ள அனைவருமே) "இப்ராஹீமுக்கு "ஸலாம்" ஈடேற்றம் உண்டாவதாகுக" (என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர்.)

“ஸலாமுன் அலா இப்ராஹீம்” (இப்ராஹீம் மீது ஸலாம் உண்டாவதாக)!

இப்றாஹீமின் மீது சாந்தி உண்டாவதாக.

“Peace be upon Abraham.”

Kathalika najzee almuhsineena

Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinûn (good-doers. See V.2:112).

Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.

இவ்வாறே, நன்மை செய்தவர்களுக்கு நாம் கூலி கொடுப்போம்.

இவ்வாறே, நன்மை செய்வோருக்கு, நாம் கூலி கொடுக்கிறோம்.

இவ்வாறே நன்மை செய்கிறவர்களுக்கு நாம் கூலி கொடுக்கிறோம்.

This is how We reward those who do good.

Innahu min AAibadina almumineena

Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves.

Indeed, he was of Our believing servants.

நிச்சயமாக அவர் மிக்க நம்பிக்கையுள்ள நமது அடியாராகவே இருந்தார்.

நிச்சயமாக அவர் முஃமின்களான நம் (நல்)லடியார்களில் நின்றுமுள்ளவர்.

நிச்சயமாக அவர், விசுவாசிகளான நமது அடியார்களில் உள்ளவர்.

He was one of Our believing slaves.

Wabashsharnahu biishaqa nabiyyan mina alssaliheena

And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishâq (Isaac) – a Prophet from the righteous.

And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous.

இதன் பின்னர், நல்லடியார்களிலுள்ள இஸ்ஹாக் நபியை அவருக்கு (மற்றுமொரு மகனாகத் தருவதாக) நற்செய்தி கூறினோம்.

ஸாலிஹானவர்களிலுள்ளவரான நபி இஸ்ஹாக்கை அவருக்கு இன்னும் (மகனாகத் தருவதாக) நாம் நன்மாராயம் கூறினோம்.

இன்னும், நல்லோர்களிலுள்ளவரான இஸ்ஹாக்கை நபியாக அவருக்கு நாம் நன்மாராயம் கூறினோம்.

And We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a prophet, and one of the righteous.

Wabarakna AAalayhi waAAala ishaqa wamin thurriyyatihima muhsinun wathalimun linafsihi mubeenun

We blessed him and Ishâq (Isaac). And of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves.

And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself.

அவர் மீதும், இஸ்ஹாக் மீதும் நாம் நமது பாக்கியங்களைச் சொரிந்தோம். அவர்களுடைய சந்ததிகளில் நல்லவர்களும் இருக்கின்றனர்; பகிரங்கமாக தமக்குத் தாமே தீங்கிழைத்துக் கொண்(ட கெட்)டவர்களும் இருக்கின்றனர்.

இன்னும் நாம் அவர் மீதும் இஸ்ஹாக் மீதும் பாக்கியங்கள் பொழிந்தோம்; மேலும் அவ்விருவருடைய சந்ததியரில் நன்மை செய்பவர்களும் இருக்கின்றார்கள்; அன்றியும் தமக்குத் தாமே பகிரங்கமாக அநியாயம் செய்து கொள்வோரும் இருக்கின்றனர்.

அவர் மீதும், இஸ்ஹாக் மீதும் நாம் நமது பாக்கியங்களை நல்கினோம். அவ்விருவரின் சந்ததியரில் நன்மை செய்பவரும், பகிரங்கமாகத் தமக்குத் தாமே அநீதமிழைத்துக் கொள்பவரும் இருக்கின்றனர்.

We blessed him and Isaac, but among their offspring were some who did good and some who clearly wronged themselves.

Walaqad mananna AAala moosa waharoona

And, indeed We gave Our Grace to Mûsâ (Moses) and Hârûn (Aaron).

And We did certainly confer favor upon Moses and Aaron.

நிச்சயமாக நாம் மூஸாவின் மீதும், ஹாரூனின் மீதும் அருள் புரிந்தோம்.

மேலும், மூஸா, ஹாரூன் ஆகியவர்கள் மீதும் நாம் நிச்சயமாக அருள் புரிந்தோம்.

நிச்சயமாக நாம் மூஸா, இன்னும் ஹாரூன் மீதும் பேருபகாரம் புரிந்தோம்.

Indeed, We bestowed Our favor upon Moses and Aaron,

Wanajjaynahuma waqawmahuma mina alkarbi alAAatheemi

And We saved them and their people from the great distress,

And We saved them and their people from the great affliction,

அவ்விருவரையும், அவர்களுடைய மக்களையும் கடுமையானதொரு துன்பத்திலிருந்து பாதுகாத்துக் கொண்டோம்.

அவ்விருவரையும், அவ்விருவருடைய சமூகத்தாரையும் மிகப்பெரும் துன்பத்திலிருந்து இரட்சித்தோம்.

அவ்விருவரையும், அவ்விருவரின் சமூகத்தாரையும் மகத்தானதொரு துன்பத்திலிருந்து காப்பாற்றினோம்.

and We saved them and their people from the great distress,

Wanasarnahum fakanoo humu alghalibeena

And helped them, so that they became the victors;

And We supported them so it was they who overcame.

அவர்களுக்கு உதவிபுரிந்தோம். ஆகவே, அவர்கள் (தங்கள் எதிரிகளை) வெற்றி கொண்டார்கள்.

மேலும், நாம் அவர்களுக்கு உதவி செய்தோம்; எனவே அவர்கள் தாம் வெற்றி பெற்றோரானார்கள்.

மேலும், நாம் அவர்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்தோம், ஆகவே, (தங்கள் விரோதிகளின் மீது) அவர்கள்தாம் வெற்றிபெற்றோராக இருந்தனர்.

and We helped them, so they were the victorious,

Waataynahuma alkitaba almustabeena

And We gave them the clear Scripture;

And We gave them the explicit Scripture,

அவ்விருவருக்கும் தெளிவான வேதத்தையும் நாம் கொடுத்தோம்.

அவ்விருவருக்கும் நாம் துலக்கமான வேதத்தைக் கொடுத்தோம்.

அவ்விருவருக்கும் தெளிவான வேதத்தையும் நாம் கொடுத்தோம்.

and We gave them both the clear Scripture,

Wahadaynahuma alssirata almustaqeema

And guided them to the Right Path.

And We guided them on the straight path.

அவ்விருவரையும் நேரான வழியிலும் நாம் செலுத்தினோம்.

இன்னும், நாம் அவ்விருவருக்கும் நேர்வழியைக் காண்பித்தோம்.

அவ்விருவருக்கும் நேர்வழியையும் நாம் காண்பித்தோம்.

and guided them to the straight path;

Watarakna AAalayhima fee alakhireena

And We left for them (a goodly remembrance) among the later generations.

And We left for them [favorable mention] among later generations:

பிற்காலத்திலும் அவ்விருவரின் கீர்த்தியை நிலைக்கச் செய்தோம்.

இன்னும் அவ்விருவருக்குமாகப் பிற்காலத்தவருக்கு (ஒரு ஞாபகார்த்தத்தை) விட்டு வைத்தோம்;

மேலும், அவ்விருவருக்காக (அவ்விருவரின் கீர்த்தியை) பின்னோர்களில் (நிலைத்திருக்க) விட்டு வைத்தோம்.

and We left for them [a favorable mention] among later generations:

Salamun AAala moosa waharoona

"Salâm (peace) be upon Mûsâ (Moses) and Hârûn (Aaron)!"

"Peace upon Moses and Aaron."

(ஆகவே, உலகத்திலுள்ளவர்கள்) மூஸாவுக்கும், ஹாரூனுக்கும் "ஸலாம்" ஈடேற்றம் உண்டாவதாக! (என்று கூறுகின்றனர்).

“ஸலாமுன் அலா மூஸா வஹாரூன்” மூஸாவுக்கும், ஹாரூனுக்கும் ஸலாம் உண்டாவதாக.

மூஸா, இன்னும் ஹாரூன் மீதும் சாந்தி உண்டாவதாக.

“Peace be upon Moses and Aaron.”

Inna kathalika najzee almuhsineena

Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinûn (good-doers. See V.2:112).

Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.

நிச்சயமாக நாம் இவ்வாறே நன்மை செய்தவர்களுக்குக் கூலி கொடுக்கின்றோம்.

நிச்சயமாக நாம் நன்மை செய்கிறவர்களுக்கு இவ்வாறே கூலி கொடுக்கின்றோம்.

This is how We reward those who do good.

Innahuma min AAibadina almumineena

Verily, they were two of Our believing slaves.

Indeed, they were of Our believing servants.

நிச்சயமாக அவ்விருவரும், நம்பிக்கை கொண்ட நமது அடியார்களாகவே இருந்தனர்.

நிச்சயமாக அவ்விருவரும் முஃமின்களான நம் (நல்)லடியார்களில் நின்றுமுள்ளவர்கள்.

நிச்சயமாக அவ்விருவரும் விசுவாசங் கொண்டவர்களான நமது அடியார்களில் உள்ளவர்களாவர்.

Indeed, they were among Our believing slaves.

Wainna ilyasa lamina almursaleena

And verily, Ilyâs (Elias) was one of the Messengers.

And indeed, Elias was from among the messengers,

நிச்சயமாக இல்யாஸும் நமது தூதர்களில் ஒருவர்தான்.

மேலும், நிச்சயமாக இல்யாஸும் முர்ஸல்(களில் - தூதராக அனுப்பப்பட்டவர்)களில் ஒருவர் தாம்.

நிச்சயமாக இல்யாஸும் (நமது தூதர்களாக) அனுப்பப்பட்டவர்களில் உள்ளவராவர்.

Indeed, Elijah was one of the messengers.

Ith qala liqawmihi ala tattaqoona

When he said to his people: "Will you not fear Allâh?

When he said to his people, "Will you not fear Allah?

அவர் தன் மக்களை நோக்கி, "நீங்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வுக்குப்) பயப்பட வேண்டாமா?" என்று கூறிய சமயத்தில்,

அவர் தம் சமூகத்தவரிடம்: “நீங்கள் (இறைவனை) அஞ்ச மாட்டீர்களா?” என்று (போதித்துச்) சொல்லியதை (நினைவு கூர்வீராக).

அவர் தம் சமூகத்தாரிடம், நீங்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வுக்குப்) பயப்படமாட்டீர்களா? என்று கூறிய சமயத்தை (நினைவு கூர்வீராக!)

When he said to his people: “Do you not fear Allah?

AtadAAoona baAAlan watatharoona ahsana alkhaliqeena

"Will you call upon Ba'l (a well-known idol of his nation whom they used to worship) and forsake the Best of creators,

Do you call upon Ba'l and leave the best of creators -

"படைப்பவர்களில் மிக அழகானவனை நீங்கள் புறக்கணித்து விட்டு, "பஅலு" என்னும் சிலையை வணங்கு கின்றீர்களா?

“நீங்கள் படைப்பவர்களில் மிகச் சிறப்பானவனை விட்டு விட்டு “பஃலு” (எனும் சிலையை) வணங்குகிறீர்களா?

“படைப்பவர்களில் மிகச் சிறந்தவனை நீங்கள் விட்டு விட்டு ‘பஅல்’ (என்னும்) விக்ரகத்தை நீங்கள் அழைக்கின்றீர்களா?

Do you call upon Ba‘l and ignore the Best of the Creators,

Allaha rabbakum warabba abaikumu alawwaleena

"Allâh, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?"

Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers?"

அல்லாஹ்தான் உங்கள் இறைவனும், முன் சென்ற உங்கள் மூதாதையர்களின் இறைவனுமாவான்" (என்று கூறினார்).

“அல்லாஹ்தான் - உங்களுடைய இறைவனும், உங்களுடைய முன் சென்ற மூதாதையர்களின் இறைவனும் ஆவான்.”

உங்கள் இரட்சகனும், முன் சென்ற உங்கள் மூதாதையர்களின் இரட்சகனுமான அல்லாஹ்வை(விட்டு விடுகிறீர்களா என்று கூறினார்).

Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?”

Fakaththaboohu fainnahum lamuhdaroona

But they denied him [Ilyâs (Elias)], so they will certainly be brought forth (to the punishment),

And they denied him, so indeed, they will be brought [for punishment],

ஆயினும், அவர்கள் (அவரைப் பொய்யாக்கி விட்டனர். ஆதலால், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் (மறுமையில் நம்மிடம் தண்டனைக்காகக்) கொண்டு வரப்படுவார்கள்.

ஆனால் அவர்கள் அவரைப் பொய்ப்பித்தார்கள்; ஆகையால், அவர்கள் (மறுமையில் இறைவன் முன்னே தண்டனைக்காக) நிச்சயமாக கொண்டு வரப்படுவார்கள்.

பின்னர், அவர்கள் அவரைப் பொய்யாக்கினார்கள், ஆதலால், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் (நம்மிடம் தண்டனைக்காக) முன்னிலைப் படுத்தபடுகிறவர்களாவர்.

But they rejected him, so they will surely be brought [for punishment],

Illa AAibada Allahi almukhlaseena

Except the chosen slaves of Allâh.

Except the chosen servants of Allah.

கலப்பற்ற அல்லாஹ்வுடைய அடியார்களைத் தவிர, (நல்லடியார்களுக்கு நல்ல சன்மானமுண்டு.)

அல்லாஹ்வுடைய தூய அடியார்களைத் தவிர. (இவர்களுக்கு நற்கூலியுண்டு.)

தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டோரான அல்லாஹ்வுடைய அடியார்களைத் தவிர (இவர்களுக்கு நல்ல சன்மானமுண்டு).

except the chosen salves of Allah.

Watarakna AAalayhi fee alakhireena

And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among the later generations.

And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations:

பிற்காலத்தில் உள்ளவர்களிலும் இவருடைய கீர்த்தியை நிலைக்கச் செய்தோம்.

மேலும், நாம் அவருக்காகப் பிற்காலத்தவருக்கு (ஒரு ஞாபகார்த்தத்தை) விட்டு வைத்தோம்:

இன்னும், அவருக்காக (அவருடைய கீர்த்தியை)ப் பின்னுள்ளோர்களில் (நிலைக்க) விட்டுவைத்தோம்.

And We left for him [a favorable mention] among later generations:

Salamun AAala il yaseena

"Salâm (peace) be upon Ilyâsîn (Elias)!"

"Peace upon Elias."

(ஆகவே உலகத்திலுள்ளவர்கள்) "இல்யாஸுக்கு "ஸலாம்" ஈடேற்றம் உண்டாவதாகுக!" (என்று கூறுகின்றனர்).

“ஸலாமுன் அலா இல்யாஸீன்” இல்யாஸீன் மீது ஸலாமுண்டாவதாக.

“இல்யாஸீன் மீது சாந்தி உண்டாவதாக!”

“Peace be upon Elias.”

Inna kathalika najzee almuhsineena

Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinûn (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allâh's sake only. See V.2:112).

Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.

நிச்சயமாக நன்மை செய்பவர்களுக்கு நாம் இவ்வாறே கூலி கொடுக்கிறோம்.

இவ்வாறே நன்மை செய்வோருக்கு நிச்சயமாக நாம் கூலி கொடுக்கிறோம்.

நிச்சயமாக நன்மை செய்கிறவர்களுக்கு நாம் இவ்வாறே கூலி கொடுக்கிறோம்.

This is how We reward those who do good.

Innahu min AAibadina almumineena

Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves.

Indeed, he was of Our believing servants.

நிச்சயமாக அவர் நம்பிக்கை கொண்ட நமது அடியார்களில் ஒருவராக இருந்தார்.

நிச்சயமாக அவர் முஃமின்களான நம் (நல்)அடியார்களில் நின்றுமுள்ளவர்.

நிச்சயமாக அவர் விசுவாசங் கொண்டவர்களான நமது அடியார்களில் உள்ளவராவர்.

He was one of Our believing slaves.

Wainna lootan lamina almursaleena

And verily, Lût (Lot) was one of the Messengers.

And indeed, Lot was among the messengers.

நிச்சயமாக லூத்தும் நமது தூதர்களில் ஒருவர்தான்.

மேலும், லூத்தும் நிச்சயமாக முர்ஸல்களில் - அனுப்பப்பட்டவர்களில் நின்றுமுள்ளவர்.

நிச்சயமாக ‘லூத்’தும் (நமது தூதர்களாக) அனுப்பப்பட்டவர்களில் உள்ளவராவர்.

Indeed, Lot was one of the messengers.

Ith najjaynahu waahlahu ajmaAAeena

When We saved him and his family, all,

[So mention] when We saved him and his family, all,

அவரையும் அவருடைய குடும்பம் முழுவதையும் பாதுகாத்துக் கொண்டோம்.

அவரையும் அவருடைய குடும்பத்தார் யாவரையும் காத்துக் கொண்டோம் -

அவரையும், அவருடைய குடும்பத்தினர் அனைவரையும் நாம் காப்பாற்றியதை (நினைவு கூர்வீராக!)

When We saved him and all of his household,

Illa AAajoozan fee alghabireena

Except an old woman (his wife) who was among those who remained behind.

Except his wife among those who remained [with the evildoers].

ஆயினும், அவருடைய கிழ மனைவியைத் தவிர; அவள் (அந்தப் பாவிகளுடன்) தங்கிவிட்டாள்.

பின்னால் தங்கிவிட்டவர்களிடையே இருந்துவிட்ட (லூத்தின் மனைவியான) கிழவியைத் தவிர்த்து.

தங்கிவிட்டோர்களில் இருந்துவிட்ட (அவருடைய) கிழ (மனை)வியைத் தவிர (அவன் வேதனை செய்யப்படுபவர்களுடன் தங்கிவிட்டாள்).

except an old woman who was among those who stayed behind.

Thumma dammarna alakhareena

Then We destroyed the rest (the town of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea now in Palestine).

Then We destroyed the others.

(அவளுடன் பாவம் செய்த) மற்றவர்களை நாம் அழித்து விட்டோம்.

பின்னர் நாம் மற்றவர்களை அழித்து விட்டோம்.

பின்னர், மற்றவர்களை நாம் அழித்துவிட்டோம்.

Then We destroyed the rest.

Wainnakum latamurroona AAalayhim musbiheena

Verily, you pass by them in the morning

And indeed, you pass by them in the morning

ஆகவே, (மக்காவாசிகளே! நீங்கள் ஷாம் தேசத்திற்கு வர்த்தகத்திற்குப் போகும்பொழுதும், வரும்பொழுதும்) காலையிலோ மாலையிலோ, நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் (அழிந்துபோன) அவர்களின் (ஊரின்) மீதே நடந்து செல்கின்றீர்கள்.

இன்னும், நீங்கள் காலை வேளைகளில் அவர்களின் (அழிந்து போன ஊர்களின்) மீதே நடந்து செல்கிறீர்கள்.

ஆகவே, (மக்காவாசிகளே! நீங்கள் வர்த்தகத்திற்குச் சென்று திரும்புகின்ற போது) காலைப் பொழுதை அடைந்தவர்களாக நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் அவர்களின் (ஊரின்) மீதே நடந்து செல்கின்றீர்கள்.

You [Makkans] pass by their ruins by day

Wabiallayli afala taAAqiloona

And at night; will you not then reflect?

And at night. Then will you not use reason?

(இதனைக் கொண்டு நீங்கள்) நல்லறிவு பெற வேண்டாமா?

இன்னும் இரவிலும் கூட(ச் செல்கிறீர்கள். இதைக்கொண்டு) நீங்கள் நல்லறிவு பெற மாட்டீர்களா?  

இரவிலும் (அவ்வூர்ப்பக்கம் செல்கின்றீர்கள்). இதனைக்கொண்டு நீங்கள் நல்லறிவு பெறமாட்டீர்களா?

and by night. Do you still not understand?

Wainna yoonusa lamina almursaleena

And verily, Yûnus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers.

And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers.

நிச்சயமாக யூனுஸும் நம்முடைய தூதர்களில் ஒருவர்தான்.

மேலும், யூனுஸும் நிச்சயமாக முர்ஸல்களில் - அனுப்பப்பட்டவர்களில் நின்றுமுள்ளவர்.

நிச்சயமாக யூனுஸும் (நம் தூதர்களாக) அனுப்பப்பட்டவர்களில் உள்ளவராவர்.

Indeed, Jonah was one of the messengers.

Ith abaqa ila alfulki almashhooni

When he ran to the laden ship:

[Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship.

(மக்களால்) நிறைந்த கப்பலின் பக்கம் அவர் தப்பி ஓடிய சமயத்தில் (அதில் ஏறிக்கொண்டார்).

நிரப்பப்பட்ட கப்பலின் பால் அவர் ஒளித்தோடிய போது -

நிரப்பப்பட்ட கப்பலின் பக்கம் அவர் வெருண்டோடிய சமயத்தில் (அவர் சோதனைக்குள்ளாக்கப்பட்டு அதில் அவர் ஏறிக்கொண்டார்).

When he fled to the fully-laden ship,

Fasahama fakana mina almudhadeena

Then he (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers.

And he drew lots and was among the losers.

அ(க் கப்பலிலுள்ள)வர்கள் (திருவுளச்) சீட்டுப் போட்டதில் இவர் (கடலில்) எறியப்பட வேண்டியவரானார்.

அ(க்கப்பலிலுள்ள)வர்கள் சீட்டுக்குலுக்கிப் போட்டுப் பார்த்தனர் - இவர் தாம் குற்றமுள்ளவர் (என்று தீர்மானித்தனர்).

அ(க்கப்பலிலுள்ள)வர்கள் சீட்டுப்போட்டனர், (அதில் அவர் பெயர்வரவே கடலில் எறியப்பட வேண்டிய) தோல்வியுற்றோரில் அவர் ஆகிவிட்டார்.

then he cast lots with them, but was among those who lost.

Failtaqamahu alhootu wahuwa muleemun

Then a (big) fish swallowed him as he had done an act worthy of blame.

Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy.

(அவ்வாறு அவர்கள் இவரை எறியவே) மீன் அவரை விழுங்கிவிட்டது. அச்சமயம், அவர் தன்னைத்தானே நிந்தித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார்.

ஆகவே, (அவர்களுடைய) பழிப்புக்கிடமான நிலையில் (கடலில்) எறியப்பட வேண்டியவரானார்; ஒரு மீன் விழுங்கிற்று.

எனவே, (இவரை அவர்கள் கடலில் எறியவே) அவர் நிந்தனைக்கு ஆளானவராகயிருக்க, (ஒரு) மீன் அவரை விழுங்கிற்று.

The whale then swallowed him while he was blameworthy.

Falawla annahu kana mina almusabbiheena

Had he not been of them who glorify Allâh,

And had he not been of those who exalt Allah,

நிச்சயமாக அவர் நம்மைத் துதி செய்பவர்களில் ஒருவராக இல்லாதிருந்தால்,

ஆனால் அவர் (மீன் வயிற்றினுள்) இறைவனைத் துதிசெய்து - தஸ்பீஹு செய்து - கொண்டிராவிட்டால் -

நிச்சயமாக அவர் (மீன் வயிற்றினுள் நம்மைத்) துதி செய்து கொண்டிருப்பவர்களில் இல்லாமலிருந்திருந்தால்,

Were it not for the fact that he was one of those who glorify Allah,

Lalabitha fee batnihi ila yawmi yubAAathoona

He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection.

He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected.

(மறுமையில்) எழுப்பப்படும் நாள் (வரும்) வரையில் அவர் அதன் வயிற்றில் தங்கியிருந்திருப்பார்.

(மறுமையில் அவர்) எழுப்பப்படும் நாள்வரை, அதன் வயிற்றிலேயே தங்கியிருந்திருப்பார்.

(மறுமைக்காக படைப்பினங்களாகிய) அவர்கள் எழுப்பப்படும் நாள் (வரும்) வரையில், அவர் அதன் வயிற்றில் தங்கியிருந்திருப்பார்.

he would have stayed in its belly until the Day of Resurrection.

Fanabathnahu bialAAarai wahuwa saqeemun

But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick,

But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill.

(அவர் துதி செய்திருப்பதன் காரணமாக) வெட்ட வெளியான பூமியில் (மீன் வயிற்றிலிருந்து) அவரை நாம் எறியச் செய்தோம். அச்சமயம் அவரோ மிக களைப்புடனும் சோர்வுடனும் இருந்தார்.

ஆனால், அவர் நோயுற்றிருந்த நிலையில், நாம் அவரை (மீன் வயிற்றிலிருந்து வெளியேற்றி) வெட்ட வெளியில் போட்டோம்.

(அவர் துதி செய்ததன் காரணமாக) அவர் நோயுற்றவராக இருந்தநிலையில் வெட்டவெளியில், (மீன் வயிற்றிலிருந்து) அவரை நாம் எறிந்தோம்.

But We cast him ashore on a barren land while he was ill,

Waanbatna AAalayhi shajaratan min yaqteenin

And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him.

And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine.

ஆகவே, அவருக்கு (நிழலிடுவதற்காக) ஒரு சுரைச் செடியை முளைப்பித்தோம்.

அன்றியும் நாம் அவருக்கு மேல் ஒரு சுரைக்கொடியை முளைப்பித்(து நிழலிடுமாறு செய்)தோம்.

மேலும், அவரின் மீது (நிழல்தருவதற்காக) ஒரு சுரைக்கொடியை நாம் முளைப்பித்தோம்.

and caused a gourd vine to grow over him.

Waarsalnahu ila miati alfin aw yazeedoona

And We sent him to a hundred thousand (people) or even more.

And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more.

பின்னர், நாம் அவரை ஒரு நூறாயிரம் அல்லது அதற்கு அதிகமான மக்களிடம் நம்முடைய தூதராக அனுப்பி வைத்தோம்.

மேலும், நாம் அவரை ஒரு நூறாயிரம் அல்லது அதற்கதிகமானவர்களிடம் அனுப்பி வைத்தோம்.

இன்னும், நாம் அவரை ஒரு நூறாயிரம், அல்லது (அதற்கு) அதிகமானவர்களிடம் (நம்முடைய) தூதராக அனுப்பி வைத்தோம்.

We sent him to one hundred thousand people or more,

Faamanoo famattaAAnahum ila heenin

And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while.

And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time.

அவர்கள் அனைவரும் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டார்கள். ஆதலால், நாமும் அவர்களை ஒரு (நீண்ட) காலம் வரையில் சுகமாக வாழவைத்தோம்.

ஆகவே அவர்கள் ஈமான் கொண்டார்கள்;ஆகையால் நாம் அவர்களை ஒரு காலம் வரை சுகிக்கச் செய்தோம்.  

ஆகவே, அவர்கள் விசுவாசங்கொண்டார்கள், ஆகவே, நாமும் அவர்களை ஒரு (நீண்ட) காலம் வரையில் சுகமாக வாழவைத்தோம்.

and they believed, so We let them enjoy for a while.

Faistaftihim alirabbika albanatu walahumu albanoona

Now ask them (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?"

So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons?

(நபியே!) அவர்களை நீங்கள் கேளுங்கள்: "(நீங்கள் வெறுக்கும்) பெண் மக்களை உங்கள் இறைவனுக்கும் உங்களுக்கு ஆண் மக்களையுமா? (விரும்புகின்றீர்கள்.)

(நபியே!) அவர்களிடம் கேளும்: உம் இறைவனுக்குப் பெண் மக்களையும் அவர்களுக்கு ஆண்மக்களையுமா (கற்பனை செய்கிறார்கள்) என்று.

(நபியே! இணைவைப்பவர்களான) அவர்களிடம், “உமது இரட்சகனுக்கு பெண்மக்களும், அவர்களுக்கு ஆண்மக்களுமா” என்று நீர் விளக்கம் கேட்பீராக!

So ask them, “Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons?”

Am khalaqna almalaikata inathan wahum shahidoona

Or did We create the angels female while they were witnesses?

Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?"

அல்லது நாம் மலக்குகளைப் பெண்களாக படைத்த(தாகக் கூறுகின்றனரே அ)தை அவர்கள் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார்களா?

அல்லது நாம் மலக்குகளைப் பெண்களாகவா படைத்தோம்? (அதற்கு) அவர்கள் சாட்சிகளா?

அல்லது மலக்குகளைப் பெண்களாக, அவர்கள் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருக்க நாம் படைத்தோமா?

Or did We create the angels as females while they were watching?

Ala innahum min ifkihim layaqooloona

Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say:

Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say,

இவர்கள் கற்பனையான பொய்யையே கூறுகிறார்கள் என்பதை நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் அறிந்துகொள்ளுங்கள்.

“அறிந்து கொள்க! நிச்சயமாக இவர்கள் தங்கள் கற்பனையில் தான் கூறுகின்றனர்.”

அறிந்து கொள்வீராக! நிச்சயமாக இவர்கள் தங்கள் பொய்யினால் கூறுகின்றனர்,

No indeed, it is one of their fabrications when they say,

Walada Allahu wainnahum lakathiboona

"Allâh has begotten (offspring – the angels being the daughters of Allâh)?" And verily, they are liars!

" Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars.

அல்லாஹ் (பிள்ளைகளைப்) பெற்றான் என்று கூறும் இவர்கள் நிச்சயமாகப் பொய்யர்களே!

“அல்லாஹ் பிள்ளைகளைப் பெற்றான்” (என்று கூறுபவர்கள்) நிச்சயமாகப் பொய்யர்களே!

அல்லாஹ் (பிள்ளைகளைப்) பெற்றெடுத்தான் (என்று)_ நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் பொய்யர்களே.

“Allah has children,” and they are truly liars.

Astafa albanati AAala albaneena

Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons?

Has He chosen daughters over sons?

(அதிலும்) ஆண் சந்ததிகளைவிட்டு, பெண் சந்ததிகளையா அவன் தேர்ந்தெடுத்துக் கொண்டான்?

(அன்றியும், அல்லாஹ்) அவன் ஆண்மக்களை விட்டுப் பெண்மக்களைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்துக் கொண்டானா?

(அதிலும்) ஆண்(மக்)களைவிட பெண்(மக்)களை அவன் தெரிவு செய்து கொண்டானா?

Did He choose daughters over sons?

Ma lakum kayfa tahkumoona

What is the matter with you? How do you decide?

What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement?

(இவ்வாறு கூற) உங்களுக்கு என்ன நியாயம் (இருக்கிறது.) ஏன் இவ்வாறு (பொய்யாக) தீர்மானிக்கின்றீர்கள்?

உங்களுக்கு என்ன (நேர்ந்து விட்டது)? எவ்வாறு நீங்கள் தீர்மானிக்கிறீர்கள்?

(இவ்வாறு கூற) உங்களுக்கு என்ன நேர்ந்தது? (இதைப் பற்றி) எவ்வாறு நீங்கள் தீர்ப்பளிக்கிறீர்கள்?

What is the matter with you? How do you judge?

Afala tathakkaroona

Will you not then remember?

Then will you not be reminded?

நீங்கள் இதனை கவனித்துச் சிந்திக்க வேண்டாமா?

நீங்கள் சிந்தித்துணர மாட்டீர்களா?

நீங்கள் (என்ன கூறுகிறீர்களென்று) சிந்திக்கமாட்டீர்களா?

Will you not then take heed?

Am lakum sultanun mubeenun

Or is there for you a plain authority?

Or do you have a clear authority?

அல்லது உங்களுக்கு (இதற்காக யாதொரு) தெளிவான ஆதாரம் இருக்கிறதா?

அல்லது உங்களிடம் தெளிவான ஆதாரம் எதுவும் இருக்கிறதா?

அல்லது உங்களுக்கு (இதற்காக ஏதேனும்) தெளிவான சான்று உண்டா?

Do you have any compelling proof?

Fatoo bikitabikum in kuntum sadiqeena

Then bring your Book if you are truthful!

Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful.

(கிறிஸ்தவர்களே! அவ்வாறு) நீங்கள் கூறுவது உண்மையாகவே இருப்பின், அதற்கு உங்கள் வேதத்தை ஆதாரமாகக் கொண்டு வாருங்கள்.

நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாயிருப்பின், உங்கள் வேத (ஆதார)த்தைக் கொண்டு வாருங்கள்.

(அவ்வாறு கூறுவதில்) நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருப்பின் (அதற்கு) உங்கள் வேத (ஆதார)த்தைக் கொண்டுவாருங்கள்.

Then bring your scripture, if you are truthful.

WajaAAaloo baynahu wabayna aljinnati nasaban walaqad AAalimati aljinnatu innahum lamuhdaroona

And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinn, but the jinn know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be called to account).

And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment].

(நபியே!) இவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கும் ஜின்களுக்கும் இடையில் பந்துத்துவத்தைக் கற்பனை செய்கின்றனர். ஆயினும், ஜின்களோ (தாங்கள் குற்றம் செய்தால் தண்டனைக்காக) நிச்சயமாக அவனிடம் கொண்டு வரப்படுவோம் என்று திட்டமாக அறிந்து இருக்கின்றனர்.

அன்றியும் இவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கும் ஜின்களுக்குமிடையில் (வம்சாவளி) உறவை (கற்பனையாக) ஏற்படுத்துகின்றனர்; ஆனால் ஜின்களும் (மறுமையில் இறைவன் முன்) நிச்சயமாகக் கொண்டுவரப்படுவார்கள் என்பதை அறிந்தேயிருக்கிறார்கள்.

மேலும் (நபியே!) இவர்கள், அவனுக்கும் ஜின்களுக்கும் இடையில் வம்சா வழி உறவை (கற்பனையாக) ஆக்குகின்றனர், ஜின்கள் (தண்டனைக்காக) நிச்சயமாக தாம் (அல்லாஹ்விடம்) கொண்டுவரப்படுபவர்கள் என்று திட்டமாக அறிந்தும் இருகின்றனர்.

They claim that there is kinship between Him and the jinn, when the jinn themselves know that such people will surely be brought [for punishment].

Subhana Allahi AAamma yasifoona

Glorified is Allâh! (He is free) from what they attribute to Him!

Exalted is Allah above what they describe,

அவர்கள் கூறும் இவ்வர்ணிப்புகளை விட்டு அல்லாஹ் மிக்க பரிசுத்தமானவன்.

எனவே, அவர்கள் இவ்வாறு வர்ணிப்பதை விட்டும் அல்லாஹ் மிகவும் பரிசுத்தமானவன்.

அவர்கள் வர்ணிக்கின்றவைகளை விட்டும் அல்லாஹ் மிக்க பரிசுத்தமானவன்.

Glorified is Allah far above what they ascribe [to Him].

Illa AAibada Allahi almukhlaseena

Except the slaves of Allâh, whom He chooses (for His Mercy, i.e. true believers of Islâmic Monotheism who do not attribute false things to Allâh).

Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin].

கலப்பற்ற நம்பிக்கையுள்ள அல்லாஹ்வின் அடியார்களோ, (தப்பாண எண்ணம் கொள்ளாததனால்) தண்டனைக்குள்ளாக மாட்டார்கள்.

அந்தரங்க சுத்தியான அல்லாஹ்வின் அடியார்களைத் தவிர்த்து.

தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட அல்லாஹ்வின் அடியார்களைத் தவிர, (மற்றவர்கள் தண்டனைக்குரியவர்களாவர்).

But not the chosen slaves of Allah.

Fainnakum wama taAAbudoona

So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols)

So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship,

(நபியே! நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்:) "நிச்சயமாக நீங்களும், நீங்கள் வணங்கும் (ஜின்களாகிய) இவைகளும் ஒன்று சேர்ந்தபோதிலும்,

ஆகையால், நிச்சயமாக நீங்களும் நீங்கள் வணங்குபவையும்.

எனவே நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் வணங்குபவைகளும்,

Indeed, you and whatever you worship

Ma antum AAalayhi bifatineena

Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allâh) anyone of the believers],

You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him

(எவரின் உள்ளத்தையும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு விரோதமாக) நீங்கள் மாற்றிவிடமுடியாது.

(எவரையும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) எதிராக நீங்கள் வழிகெடுத்து விடமுடியாது.

(ஒன்று சேர்ந்தபோதிலும் எவரையும் அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) அவனுக்கு விரோதமாக நீங்கள் வழி கெடுத்து விடுபவர்களல்லர்_

none of you can lure anyone away from Him,

Illa man huwa sali aljaheemi

Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell!

Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire.

நரகம் செல்லக்கூடியவனைத் தவிர.

நரகைச் சென்றடைபவர்களைத் தவிர.

நரகத்தில் புக இருக்கிறானே அவனை தவிர.

except those who are destined to burn in the Blazing Fire.

Wama minna illa lahu maqamun maAAloomun

And there is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position);

[The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position.

(மலக்குகள் கூறுவதாவது:) எங்களில் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் குறிப்பிட்ட பணியுண்டு;

(மேலும் மலக்குகள் கூறுகிறார்கள்:) “குறிப்பிடப்பட்ட ஓர் இடம் இல்லாதவராக திடமாக எங்களில் எவருமில்லை.”

மேலும், (மலக்குகளாகிய) எங்களில் எவருக்கும் ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட இடம் (வானத்தில்) அவருக்கில்லாமலில்லை (என்றும்),

[The angels say], “There is none among us but has a known station:

Wainna lanahnu alssaffoona

And verily, we (angels) stand in rows (for the prayers as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers);

And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer].

நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் (கட்டளையை நிறைவேற்ற அல்லாஹ்வின் உத்தரவை எதிர்பார்த்து) அணிவகுத்து நின்ற வண்ணமாகவே இருக்கின்றோம்.

“நிச்சயமாக, நாங்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வின் ஏவலை எதிர்பார்த்து) அணிவகுத்தவர்களாகவே (நிற்கின்றோம்).

நிச்சயமாக, நாங்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வின் கட்டளையை எதிர்பார்த்து) அணிவகுத்தவர்களாகவே இருக்கின்றோம் (என்றும்),

We are indeed those who stand lined up in rows,

Wainna lanahnu almusabbihoona

And verily, we (angels) indeed are those who glorify (Allâh's Praises, i.e. perform prayers).

And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah."

நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் அவனைப் புகழ்ந்து துதி செய்து கொண்டும் இருக்கின்றோம்.

“மேலும், நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வைத் துதி செய்து) தஸ்பீஹு செய்பவர்களாக இருக்கிறோம்.”

நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் (அவனைப் புகழ்ந்து) துதிசெய்பவர்களாகவும் இருக்கிறோம் (என்றும் மலக்குகள் கூறுகிறார்கள்).

and we are indeed those who glorify Allah.”

Wain kanoo layaqooloona

And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say:

And indeed, the disbelievers used to say,

(நபியே! இதற்குமுன் மக்காவாசிகளாகிய) அவர்கள் கூறிக்கொண்டிருந்ததாவது:

(நபியே! மக்காவாசிகள் முன்னர்) கூறிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்:

மேலும், (நபியே!) இதற்கு முன் மக்காவாசிகளாகிய) அவர்கள் உறுதியாக கூறக்கூடியவர்களாக இருந்தனர் (அதாவது)

And [the pagans] used to say,

Law anna AAindana thikran mina alawwaleena

"If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] as a Messenger of Allâh),

"If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples,

"முன்னுள்ளோர்களின் யாதொரு வேதத்தைப் போன்ற ஏதும் எங்களிடம் இருக்கும் சமயத்தில்,

“முன்னோர்களிடமிருந்து, (எங்களுக்கு இறை நினைவூட்டும்) ஏதேனும் ஒரு வேதத்தை நாங்கள் பெற்றிருந்தால் -

“முன்னுள்ளோர்களிடமிருந்து, (அல்லாஹ்வை) நினைவூட்டும் (வேதம்) ஏதேனுமொன்று நிச்சயமாக எங்களிடமிருந்தால்_

“If only we had a scripture like the previous people,

Lakunna AAibada Allahi almukhlaseena

"We would have indeed been the chosen slaves of Allâh (true believers of Islâmic Monotheism)!"

We would have been the chosen servants of Allah."

நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய கலப்பற்ற அடியார்களாகி விடுவோம்" என்றார்கள்.

“அல்லாஹ்வுடைய தூய அடியார்களாக நாங்கள் நிச்சயமாக ஆகியிருப்போம்” என்று.

நிச்சயமாக, நாங்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வையே வணங்குவதற்கென) தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டவர்களான அல்லாஹ்வுடைய அடியார்களாக இருந்திருப்போம்.

we would have surely been true slaves of Allah.”

Fakafaroo bihi fasawfa yaAAlamoona

But (now that the Qur'ân has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Qur'ân and in Prophet Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam], and all that he brought – the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know!

But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know.

எனினும், இவ்வாறு கூறிக்கொண்டிருந்த இவர்களிடம் (இவ்வேதம் வரவே,) அதனை இவர்கள் நிராகரிக்கின்றனர். அதிசீக்கிரத்தில் (இதன் பயனை) இவர்கள் அறிந்துகொள்வார்கள்.

ஆனால் (திருக் குர்ஆன் வந்தபோது) அவர்கள் அதை நிராகரிக்கிறார்கள் - (இதன் பலனை) விரைவிலேயே அவர்கள் அறிந்து கொள்வார்கள்!

அப்போது (இவ்வேதம் வரவே,) இதை அவர்கள் நிராகரித்துவிட்டனர், அவர்கள் அறிந்துகொள்வார்கள்.

But they rejected it; soon they will come to know.

Walaqad sabaqat kalimatuna liAAibadina almursaleena

And verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our slaves, the Messengers,

And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers,

நம்முடைய தூதர்களாகிய நம் அடியார்களைப் பற்றி ஏற்கனவே நம்முடைய வாக்கு நிச்சயமாக ஏற்பட்டு விட்டது.

தூதர்களாகிய நம் அடியார்களிடம், முன்னரே திடமாக நம்வாக்குச் சென்றிருக்கிறது.

மேலும், நம்முடைய தூதர்களாகிய அடியார்களுக்கு நம்முடைய வாக்கு முந்திவிட்டது.

Our Word has already been given to Our slaves, the messengers,

Innahum lahumu almansooroona

That they verily would be made triumphant,

[That] indeed, they would be those given victory

ஆதலால், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் உதவி செய்யப்படுவார்கள்.

(அதாவது) நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் உதவி செய்யப்படுவார்கள் -

நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள்_அவர்களே தான் உதவி செய்யப்படுபவர்கள்.

that it is surely they who will be given victory,

Wainna jundana lahumu alghaliboona

And that Our hosts! they verily would be the victors.

And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome.

நிச்சயமாக நம்முடைய படையினர்(களாகிய நம்பிக்கையாளர்கள்) தாம் வெற்றி பெறுவார்கள்.

மேலும், நம் படைகளே நிச்சயமாக அவர்களே வெற்றி பெறுவார்கள்.

மேலும் நிச்சயமாக, நம்முடைய படையினர்கள் தான், அவர்களே திட்டமாக மிகைத்தவர்களாக இருப்பர்.

and that Our soldiers will surely be the victors.

Fatawalla AAanhum hatta heenin

So, turn away (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) from them for a while,

So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time.

ஆதலால், (நபியே!) சிறிது காலம் வரையில் (அரபிகளாகிய) இவர்களிலிருந்து நீங்கள் விலகியிருங்கள்.

(ஆகவே, நபியே!) சிறிது காலம் வரையில் நீர் அவர்களை விட்டும் விலகியிருப்பீராக!

(ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட) நேரம் வரை அவர்களைவிட்டும் (சிறிதுகாலம்) புறக்கணித்துவிடுவீராக!

So turn away from them for a while.

Waabsirhum fasawfa yubsiroona

And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)!

And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see.

(இவர்கள் எவ்வாறு தண்டனைக்கு உள்ளாகிறார்கள் என்பதை அறிய) அவர்களைப் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருங்கள். அதிசீக்கிரத்தில் அவர்களும் அதனைக் கண்டு கொள்வார்கள்.

(அவர்களின் நிலை என்னவாகிறது என்பதை) நீர் கவனிப்பீராக! (தங்களுக்கு நேரப்போவதை) அவர்களும் கவனிப்பார்கள்.

இன்னும் அவர்களைப் பார்த்திரும், (அவர்களுக்கு நேர இருப்பதை) அடுத்து அவர்களும் பார்ப்பார்கள்.

Wait and see; soon they will see [their end].

AfabiAAathabina yastaAAjiloona

Do they seek to hasten on Our torment?

Then for Our punishment are they impatient?

(என்னே!) நம்முடைய வேதனைக்காகவா இவர்கள் அவசரப்படுகின்றனர்?

நம்(மிடமிருந்து வரும்) வேதனைக்காகவா அவர்கள் அவசரப்படுகிறார்கள்?

நம்முடைய வேதனைக்காகவா அவர்கள் அவசரப்படுகிறார்கள்?

Do they really seek to hasten Our punishment?

Faitha nazala bisahatihim fasaa sabahu almunthareena

Then, when it descends in their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned!

But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned.

(நம்முடைய வேதனை) அவர்கள் மத்தியில் இறங்கும் பட்சத்தில், அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கப்பட்ட அவர்களின் விடியற்காலை மகா கெட்டதாகிவிடும்.

(அவ்வேதனை) அவர்களுடைய முற்றத்தில் இறங்கும்போது அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கப்பட்ட அவர்களின் விடியல் மிகக் கெட்டதாக இருக்கும்.

பின்னர் (நம்முடைய வேதனை) அவர்களது முற்றத்தில் இறங்கிவிடுமானால், அப்போது எச்சரிக்கப்பட்டவர்களின் காலை(ப்பொழுது) மிகக் கெட்டதாக இருக்கும்.

When it descends on their courtyard, how terrible will be the morning of those who were warned!

Watawalla AAanhum hatta heenin

So, turn (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) away from them for a while,

And leave them for a time.

(நபியே!) அவர்களை நீங்கள் சிறிது காலம் புறக்கணித்து விடுங்கள்.

ஆகவே, சிறிது காலம் வரை நீர் அவர்களை விட்டும் விலகியிருப்பீராக.

மேலும், ஒரு (குறிப்பிட்ட) காலம் வரை அவர்களை விட்டும் புறக்கணித்து விடுவீராக!

And turn away from them for a while.

Waabsir fasawfa yubsiroona

And watch and they shall see (the torment)!

And see, for they are going to see.

(அவர்களுக்கு வேதனை வருவதை) நீங்கள் எதிர்பார்த்திருங்கள். அவர்களும் (அதனை) நிச்சயமாகக் காண்பார்கள்.

(அவர்களின் நிலை என்னவாகிறது என்பதை) நீர் கவனிப்பீராக! (தங்களுக்கு நேரப் போவதை) அவர்களும் கவனிப்பார்கள்.

இன்னும் (அவர்களுக்கு நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்ட வேதனை வருவதை எதிர்) பார்ப்பீராக! (தங்களுக்கு ஏற்படப்போவதை) அவர்கள் அடுத்துப்பார்ப்பார்கள்.

Wait and see; soon they will see [their end].

Subhana rabbika rabbi alAAizzati AAamma yasifoona

Glorified is your Lord, the Lord of honour and power! (He is free) from what they attribute to Him!

Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe.

அவர்களுடைய (தப்பான) வர்ணிப்புகளை விட்டும் கண்ணியமிக்க உங்களது இறைவன் மிகப் பரிசுத்தமானவன்.

அவர்கள் வர்ணிப்பதை விட்டும், கண்ணியத்தின் இறைவனான உம்முடைய இறைவன் தூயவன்.

அவர்கள் வர்ணிப்பதைவிட்டும் கண்ணியத்திற்குரியவனாகிய உமது இரட்சகன் (மிகத்) தூயவன்.

Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, far above what they ascribe [to Him],

Wasalamun AAala almursaleena

And peace be on the Messengers!

And peace upon the messengers.

(அவனால்) அனுப்பப்பட்ட தூதர்கள் உங்கள் (அனைவர்) மீதும் அவனுடைய ஈடேற்றம் உண்டாவதாக!

மேலும் முர்ஸல்(களான அவன் தூதர்)கள் மீது ஸலாம் உண்டாவதாக.

மேலும், அல்லாஹ்வினால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட (அவனின் தூது)வர்கள் மீது சாந்தி உண்டாவதாக.

and peace be upon the messengers,

Waalhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena

And all praise and thanks are Allâh's, the Lord of the 'آlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists).

And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds.

புகழ் அனைத்தும் உலகத்தாரைப் படைத்து வளர்த்துப் பரிபக்குவப்படுத்தும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு உரித்தானது.

வல்ஹம்து லில்லாஹி ரப்பில் ஆலமீன் (இன்னும் புகழ் அனைத்தும் அகிலங்களின் இறைவனாகிய அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே உரித்தாகும்).

இன்னும் புகழ் அனைத்தும் அகிலத்தாரின் இரட்சகனான அல்லாஹ்விற்கே (உரியதாகும்).

and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
