34 - Saba' (The People of) Saba)

Alhamdu lillahi allathee lahu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi walahu alhamdu fee alakhirati wahuwa alhakeemu alkhabeeru

All praise and thanks are Allâh's, to Whom belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. His is all praise and thanks in the Hereafter, and He is the All-Wise, the Well-Acquainted (with all things).

[All] praise is [due] to Allah, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and to Him belongs [all] praise in the Hereafter. And He is the Wise, the Acquainted.

புகழனைத்தும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்குரியனவே! வானங்களிலும் பூமியிலும் உள்ள அனைத்தும் அவனுக்குச் சொந்தமானவைகளே! மறுமையிலும் எல்லா புகழும் அவனுக்குரியதே! அவன் ஞானமுடையவனும் அனைத்தையும் நன்கறிந்தவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

அல்ஹம்து லில்லாஹ் - புகழ் எல்லாம் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே உரியது. வானங்களில் உள்ளவையும், பூமியில் உள்ளவையும் அவனுக்கே (உரியன); மறுமையில் புகழ்யாவும் அவனுக்கே. மேலும் அவன் ஞானம் மிக்கவன்; (யாவற்றையும்) நன்கறிபவன்.

புகழனைத்தும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே உரியதாகும். அவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால், வானங்களிலுள்ளவையும், பூமியிலுள்ளவையும் அவனுக்கே உரியதாகும். மறுமையிலும் சகல புகழும் அவனுக்கே உரியதாகும், மேலும், அவன் தீர்க்கமான அறிவுடையவன், (யாவையும்) நன்குணர்பவன்.

All praise is for Allah to Whom belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth, and to Him is the praise in the Hereafter; He is the All-Wise, the All-Aware.

YaAAlamu ma yaliju fee alardi wama yakhruju minha wama yanzilu mina alssamai wama yaAAruju feeha wahuwa alrraheemu alghafooru

He knows that which goes into the earth and that which comes forth from it, and that which descends from the heaven and that which ascends to it. And He is the Most Merciful, the Oft-Forgiving.

He knows what penetrates into the earth and what emerges from it and what descends from the heaven and what ascends therein. And He is the Merciful, the Forgiving.

பூமிக்குள் பதிகின்ற (வித்து போன்ற)வைகளையும், அதில் இருந்து வெளிப்படும் (மரம் செடி ஆகிய) இவைகளையும் வானத்தில் இருந்து இறங்குபவைகளையும், அதன் பக்கம் ஏறுகின்றவை களையும் அவன் நன்கறிவான். அவன் மகா கிருபையுடையவனும் மிக்க மன்னிப்பவனாகவும் இருக்கிறான்.

பூமிக்குள் நுழைவதையும், அதிலிருந்து வெளியேறுவதையும், வானத்திலிருந்து இறங்குவதையும், அதன் பால் உயருவதையும் (ஆகிய அனைத்தையும்) அவன் அறிகிறான். அவன் மிக்க அன்புடையவன், மிகவும் மன்னிப்பவன்.

பூமிக்குள் நுழைகின்றதையும், அதிலிருந்து வெளிப்படுகின்றதையும், வானத்திலிருந்து இறங்குகின்றதையும், அதில் ஏறுகின்றதையும் அவன் அறிவான். மேலும், அவன் மிகக் கிருபையுடையவன், மிக்க மன்னிப்பவன்.

He knows whatever goes into the earth and whatever comes out of it, and whatever descends from the heaven and whatever ascends to it, and He is the Most Merciful, All-Forgiving.

Waqala allatheena kafaroo la tateena alssaAAatu qul bala warabbee latatiyannakum AAalimi alghaybi la yaAAzubu AAanhu mithqalu tharratin fee alssamawati wala fee alardi wala asgharu min thalika wala akbaru illa fee kitabin mubeenin

Those who disbelieve say: "The Hour will not come to us." Say: "Yes, by my Lord, the All-Knower of the Unseen, it will come to you; not even the weight of an atom (or a small ant) or less than that or greater escapes His Knowledge in the heavens or in the earth but it is in a Clear Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz)."

But those who disbelieve say, "The Hour will not come to us." Say, "Yes, by my Lord, it will surely come to you. [Allah is] the Knower of the unseen." Not absent from Him is an atom's weight within the heavens or within the earth or [what is] smaller than that or greater, except that it is in a clear register -

(எனினும்) "மறுமை நமக்கு வராது" என்று இந்நிராகரிப் பவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர். (நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "அது வரும். என் இறைவன் மீது சத்தியமாக! நிச்சயமாக அது உங்களிடம் வந்தே தீரும். என் இறைவன் மறைவானவை அனைத்தையும் அறிந்தவன். அவன் அறியாது வானங்களிலோ பூமியிலோ உள்ளவற்றில் ஓர் அணுவளவும் தப்பிவிடாது. அணுவைவிட சிறியதோ அல்லது பெரியதோ (ஒவ்வொன்றும் "லவ்ஹுல் மஹ்ஃபூள்" என்னும்) தெளிவான குறிப்புப் புத்தகத்தில் பதிவு செய்யப்படாமல் இல்லை."

எனினும் நிராகரிப்பவர்கள்: “(நியாயத் தீர்ப்புக்குரிய) அவ்வேளை நமக்கு வராது” என்று கூறுகிறார்கள்; அப்படியல்ல! என் இறைவன் மீது சத்தியமாக, நிச்சயமாக (அது) உங்களிடம் வந்தே தீரும்; அவன் மறைவான(யா)வற்றையும் அறிந்தவன்; வானங்களிலோ, பூமியிலோ ஓர் அணுவளவும் அவனை விட்டு மறையாது; இன்னும், அதைவிடச் சிறியதோ, இன்னும் பெரியதோ ஆயினும் தெளிவான (லவ்ஹுல் மஹ்ஃபூல்) ஏட்டில் பதிவு செய்யப்படாமல் இல்லை என்று கூறுவீராக.

மேலும் நிராகரிப்போர், “மறுமை நாள் நமக்கு (வரவே) வராது” என்று கூறுகின்றனர், (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக: “அவ்வாறல்ல! மறைவானவற்றை அறியக்கூடிய என் இரட்சகனின் மீது சத்தியமாக, நிச்சயமாக அது உங்களிடம் வந்தே தீரும். வானங்களிலோ, பூமியிலோ (உள்ளவற்றில்) ஓர் அணுவளவும் அவனை விட்டும் மறையாது; இன்னும், அதைவிட மிகச் சிறியதோ, மிகப்பெரியதோ (ஒவ்வொன்றும் லவ்ஹுல் மஹ்ஃபுள் என்னும்) தெளிவான புத்தகத்தில் இல்லாமலில்லை.”

Those who disbelieve say, “The Hour will not come to us.” Say, “Yes, by my Lord, it will surely come to you.” [He is] the Knower of the unseen; not even an atom’s weight is hidden from Him in the heavens or on earth, nor is there anything smaller or bigger than that, except that it is in a clear Record,

Liyajziya allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati olaika lahum maghfiratun warizqun kareemun

That He may recompense those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh – Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds. Those, theirs is forgiveness and Rizq Karîm (generous provision, i.e. Paradise).

That He may reward those who believe and do righteous deeds. Those will have forgiveness and noble provision.

நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு, நற்செயல்களைச் செய்தவர்களுக்குக் கூலி கொடுப்பதற்காக (அவ்வாறு அதில் பதியப்பட்டுள்ளது). இத்தகையவர்களுக்கு மன்னிப்பும் உண்டு; கண்ணியமான உணவும் (வாழ்க்கையும்) உண்டு.

ஈமான் கொண்டு, ஸாலிஹான (நல்ல) அமல் செய்பவர்களுக்கு கூலி கொடுப்பதற்காக (அவ்வாறு பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது); அத்தகையவர்களுக்குத்தான் பாவமன்னிப்பும், கண்ணியமான உணவு (வசதியு)ம் இருக்கின்றன.

விசுவாசங்கொண்டு நற்கருமங்களையும் செய்தோருக்கு (அந்நாளில்) அவன் கூலி கொடுப்பதற்காக (அவ்வாறு அதில் பதியப்பட்டுள்ளது), அத்தகையோர்_ அவர்களுக்கு மன்னிப்பும், கண்ணியமான உணவும் உண்டு.

so that He may reward those who believe and do righteous deeds; it is they who will have forgiveness and a generous provision.

Waallatheena saAAaw fee ayatina muAAajizeena olaika lahum AAathabun min rijzin aleemin

But those who strive against Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) to frustrate them – those, for them will be a severe painful torment.

But those who strive against Our verses [seeking] to cause failure - for them will be a painful punishment of foul nature.

எவர்கள் நம்முடைய வசனங்களுக்கு எதிரிடையாக (நம்மை)த் தோற்கடிக்க முயற்சி செய்கின்றார்களோ அத்தகையவர் களுக்கு மிக்க துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனை உண்டு.

மேலும், எவர்கள் நம் வசனங்களை (எதிர்த்துத்) தோற்கடிக்க முயல்கின்றார்களோ, அவர்களுக்கு நோவினை செய்யும் கடினமான வேதனையுண்டு.

மேலும், நம்முடைய வசனங்கள் விஷயத்தில் (நம்மை) இயலாமையிலாக்குகின்ற (எண்ணங்கொண்ட)வர்களாக (நமக்கு எதிராக) முயற்சி செய்தார்களே அத்தகையோர்_அவர்களுக்கு வேதனையில் துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையுண்டு.

But those who strive against Our verses, seeking to discredit them, for such there will be a punishment of agonizing pain.

Wayara allatheena ootoo alAAilma allathee onzila ilayka min rabbika huwa alhaqqa wayahdee ila sirati alAAazeezi alhameedi

And those who have been given knowledge see that what is revealed to you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) from your Lord is the truth, and that it guides to the path of the Exalted in might, the Owner of all praise.

And those who have been given knowledge see that what is revealed to you from your Lord is the truth, and it guides to the path of the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy.

(நபியே!) எவர்களுக்கு வேதம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டதோ அவர்க(ளில் உள்ள சத்தியவான்)கள் உங்களுக்கு இறக்கப்பட்ட இவ்வேதத்தை உங்கள் இறைவனால் அருளப்பட்ட உண்மையான வேதமென்றும், அனைவரையும் மிகைத்த மிக்க புகழுக்குரியவனின் நேரான வழியை அறிவிக்கக் கூடியது என்றே எண்ணுவார்கள்.

எவர்களுக்குக் கல்வி ஞானம் அளிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதோ, அவர்கள் உமக்கு உம்முடைய - இறைவனிடமிருந்து அருளப்பெற்ற (இவ்வேதத்)தை உண்மை என்பதையும், அது வல்லமை மிக்க, புகழுக்குரியவ(னான நாய)னின் நேர்வழியில் சேர்க்கிறது என்பதையும் காண்கிறார்கள்.

(நபியே!) இன்னும், (வேதக்)கல்வி கொடுக்கப்பட்டார்களே அத்தகையோர்_உம்திரட்சகனிடமிருந்து உமக்கு இறக்கிவைக்கப்பட்ட (இவ்வேத)த்தை இதுவே உண்மை(யான வேதம்) என்றும், யாவரையும் மிகைத்த, மிக்க புகழுக்குரியவனின் நேரான வழியின்பால் இது வழிகாட்டும் என்றும் காண்கிறார்கள்.

Those who are blessed with knowledge can see that whatever has been sent down to you from your Lord is the truth, and that it guides to the path of the All-Mighty, the Praiseworthy.

Waqala allatheena kafaroo hal nadullukum AAala rajulin yunabbiokum itha muzziqtum kulla mumazzaqin innakum lafee khalqin jadeedin

Those who disbelieve say: "Shall we direct you to a man (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) who will tell you (that) when you have become fully disintegrated into dust with full dispersion, then you will be created (again) anew?"

But those who disbelieve say, "Shall we direct you to a man who will inform you [that] when you have disintegrated in complete disintegration, you will [then] be [recreated] in a new creation?

எனினும், எவர்கள் நிராகரிக்கின்றவர்களாக இருக்கின் றார்களோ அவர்கள் (மற்றவர்களை நோக்கி) "நீங்கள் (இறந்து மக்கி) அணுவணுவாகப் பிரிக்கப்பட்டதன் பின்னரும் நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் புதிதாகப் படைக்கப்பட்டு விடுவீர்கள் என்று உங்களுக்கு (பயமுறுத்தி)க் கூறக்கூடியதொரு மனிதனை நாம் உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கவா" என்று (பரிகாசமாகக்) கூறுகின்றனர்.

ஆனால், நிராகரிக்கிறார்களே அவர்கள்: “நீங்கள் (இறந்து, மக்கித் தூளாகச்) சிதறடிக்கப்பட்ட பின், நீங்கள் ஒரு புதிய படைப்பாக இருப்பீர்கள் என்று உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கும் மனிதரை நாங்கள் உங்களுக்குக் காண்பிக்கவா?” என்று (பரிகாசமாகக்) கூறுகின்றனர்.

இன்னும், நிராகரிக்கிறார்களே அவர்கள், (மற்றவர்களிடம்,) “நீங்கள் (இறந்து மக்கி) முற்றிலுமாக துண்டு துண்டாக ஆக்கப்பட்டுவிடுவீர்களானால், நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் (மீண்டும்) புதிய படைப்பில் இருப்பீர்களென்று உங்களுக்குத் தெரிவிக்கும் ஒரு மனிதனை நாம் உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கவா?” என்று (பரிகாசமாகக்) கேட்கின்றனர்.

The disbelievers [mockingly] say, “Shall we show you a man who will tell you that when you are completely disintegrated into dust, you will be created anew?”

Aftara AAala Allahi kathiban am bihi jinnatun bali allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati fee alAAathabi waalddalali albaAAeedi

Has he (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) invented a lie against Allâh, or is there madness in him? Nay, but those who disbelieve in the Hereafter are (themselves) in a torment, and in far error.

Has he invented about Allah a lie or is there in him madness?" Rather, they who do not believe in the Hereafter will be in the punishment and [are in] extreme error.

அன்றி, (இம்மனிதர்) "அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது பொய்யாகக் கற்பனை செய்து கொண்டாரோ அல்லது அவருக்குப் பைத்தியம் தான் பிடித்திருக்கிறதோ" என்று (அவரிடம் கூறுகின்றனர்.) அவ்வாறன்று. எவர்கள் மறுமையை நம்பவில்லையோ அவர்கள் தாம் பெரும் வேதனையிலும், வெகு தூரமானதொரு வழிகேட்டிலும் இருக்கின்றனர்.

அன்றியும், இ(வ்வாறு கூறுகின்ற)வர் அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது “பொய்யை இட்டுக் கட்டுகிறாரா; அல்லது இவருக்கு பைத்தியமா?” (என்றும் கேட்கிறார்கள்.) அவ்வாறல்ல! மறுமையின் மீது நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளாதவர்கள் வேதனையிலும் வெகு தூரமான வழி கேட்டிலுமே இருக்கிறார்கள்.

“அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது அவர் பொய்யை இட்டுக்கட்டுகிறாரா? அல்லது அவருக்குப் பைத்தியமா?” (என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர்) அல்ல! மறுமையை நம்பவில்லையே அவர்கள் தாம் (பெரும்) வேதனையிலும், வெகுதூரமான வழிகேட்டிலும் இருக்கின்றனர்.

Has he fabricated a lie against Allah, or is he mad?” No, but those who do not believe in the Hereafter will be in the punishment, and they are extremely misguided.

Afalam yaraw ila ma bayna aydeehim wama khalfahum mina alssamai waalardi in nasha nakhsif bihimu alarda aw nusqit AAalayhim kisafan mina alssamai inna fee thalika laayatan likulli AAabdin muneebin

See they not what is before them and what is behind them, of the heaven and the earth? If We will, We shall sink the earth with them, or cause a piece of the heaven to fall upon them. Verily, in this is a sign for every slave who turns to Allâh in repentance (i.e. the one who believes in the Oneness of Allâh and performs deeds of His obedience and always begs His Pardon).

Then, do they not look at what is before them and what is behind them of the heaven and earth? If We should will, We could cause the earth to swallow them or [could] let fall upon them fragments from the sky. Indeed in that is a sign for every servant turning back [to Allah].

வானத்திலும் பூமியிலும் அவர்களுக்கு முன்னும் பின்னும் இருப்பவைகளை அவர்கள் கவனிக்கவில்லையா? நாம் விரும்பினால் அவர்களைப் பூமிக்குள் சொருகிவிடுவோம் அல்லது வானத்திலிருந்து சில துண்டுகளை அவர்கள் மேல் எறிந்து (அவர்களை அழித்து) விடுவோம். (அல்லாஹ்வையே) நோக்கி நிற்கும் ஒவ்வொரு அடியானுக்கும் நிச்சயமாக இதில் ஓர் அத்தாட்சி இருக்கின்றது.

வானத்திலும், பூமியிலும் அவர்களுக்கு முன்னாலுள்ளதையும் அவர்களுக்குப் பின்னாலுள்ளதையும் அவர்கள் பார்க்க வில்லையா? நாம் நாடினால் அவர்களை பூமியினுள் சொருகி விடுவோம்; அல்லது வானத்திலிருந்து அவர்கள் மீது ஒரு துண்டை விழச்செய்து (அவர்களை அழித்து) விடுவோம்; (அல்லாஹ்வையே) முன்னோக்கி நிற்கும் ஒவ்வோர் அடியானுக்கும் நிச்சயமாக இதில் ஓர் அத்தாட்சி இருக்கிறது.  

வானத்திலும், பூமியிலும், அவர்களுக்கு முன்னிருப்பதையும், பின்னிருப்பதையும் அவர்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா? நாம் நாடினால் அவர்களை பூமிக்குள் அழுந்தச்செய்துவிடுவோம், அல்லது வானத்திலிருந்து பல துண்டுகளை அவர்கள் மேல் விழச் செய்து (அவர்கள் அழித்து) விடுவோம், நிச்சயமாக தவ்பாச்செய்து (அல்லாஹ்வின் பக்கமே) திரும்பும் ஒவ்வொரு அடியானுக்கும் இதில் ஓர் அத்தாட்சி இருக்கின்றது.

Do they not see all that is before them and all that is behind them of the heavens and earth? If We willed, We could cause the earth to swallow them up, or cause fragments of the sky to fall upon them. Indeed, there is a sign in this for every slave who turns to Allah in repentance.

Walaqad atayna dawooda minna fadlan ya jibalu awwibee maAAahu waalttayra waalanna lahu alhadeeda

And indeed We bestowed grace on Dâwûd (David) from Us (saying): "O you mountains! Glorify (Allâh) with him! And you birds (also)! And We made the iron soft for him."

And We certainly gave David from Us bounty. [We said], "O mountains, repeat [Our] praises with him, and the birds [as well]." And We made pliable for him iron,

மெய்யாகவே நாம் தாவூதுக்குப் பெரும் அருள்புரிந்து மலைகளை நோக்கி "நீங்கள் அவருடன் (சேர்ந்து) துதி செய்யுங்கள்" என்று கட்டளையிட்டோம். அவ்வாறே பறவைகளுக்கும் (கட்டளையிட்டோம். அன்றி,) அவருக்கு இரும்பை (மெழுகைப் போல்) மெதுவாக்கித் தந்தோம்.

இன்னும், நிச்சயமாக நாம் தாவூதுக்கு நம் (மேன்மையான) அருளை வழங்கினோம்; “மலைகளே! (அவர் தஸ்பீஹு செய்யும் போது) அவருடன் (அத்துதியை) நீங்களும் எதிரொலியுங்கள்; பறவைகளே! (நீங்களும் அவ்வாறே செய்யுங்கள் என்றோம்;) மேலும் நாம் அவருக்கு இரும்பை மிருதுவாக்கித் தந்தோம்.

இன்னும் திட்டமாக நாம் தாவூதுக்கு நம்மிடமிருந்து பேரருளைக் கொடுத்தோம், “மலைகளே! நீங்கள் அவருடன் (சேர்ந்து) துதி(யை எதிரொலிக்கச் செய்)யுங்கள்” (என்று கூறினோம்), இன்னும் பறவைகளையும் (வசப்படுத்திக் கொடுத்தோம்.) அன்றியும், அவருக்கு இரும்பை மிருதுவாக்கியிருந்தோம்.

Indeed, We bestowed favors upon David: “O mountains, echo Allah’s praise with him, and the birds too!” And We made iron malleable for him:

Ani iAAmal sabighatin waqaddir fee alssardi waiAAmaloo salihan innee bima taAAmaloona baseerun

Saying: "Make you perfect coats of mail, and balance well the rings of chain armour, and work you (men) righteousness. Truly, I am All-Seer of what you do."

[Commanding him], "Make full coats of mail and calculate [precisely] the links, and work [all of you] righteousness. Indeed I, of what you do, am Seeing."

மேலும், (சங்கிலி) வளையங்களை (முறைப்படி) ஒழுங்காக இணைத்து போர்ச்சட்டை செய்யும்படியும் (கட்டளையிட்டதுடன் அவரையும் அவரைச் சார்ந்தவர்களையும் நோக்கி) "நீங்கள் நற்செயல்களையே செய்து கொண்டிருங்கள்; நிச்சயமாக நான், நீங்கள் செய்பவைகளை உற்று நோக்கினவனாக இருக்கிறேன்" (என்றோம்).

“வலுப்பமுள்ள போர்க் கவசங்கள் செய்வீராக! அவற்றின் கண்ணிகளை பலமுள்ளவையாக ஒழுங்கு படுத்திக் கொள்வீராக! நற்கருமங்கள் செய்வீராக! நீர் செய்பவற்றை உற்று நோக்குபவனாக இருக்கின்றேன்” (என்றும் சொன்னோம்.)

(மேலும்) “நிறைவான போர்க்கவசங்களைச் செய்வீராக! அவற்றின் வளையங்களில் (அளவை) ஒழுங்கு படுத்துவீராக” என்றும், நீங்கள் நற்கருமங்களையே செய்துகொண்டிருங்கள். நிச்சயமாக நான் நீங்கள் செய்பவற்றை பார்க்கிறவன்” (என்றும் கூறினோம்).

“Make coats of mail, and maintain balance in the linking rings, and do [all of you] righteous deeds, for I am All-Seeing of what you do.”

Walisulaymana alrreeha ghuduwwuha shahrun warawahuha shahrun waasalna lahu AAayna alqitri wamina aljinni man yaAAmalu bayna yadayhi biithni rabbihi waman yazigh minhum AAan amrina nuthiqhu min AAathabi alssaAAeeri

And to Sulaimân (Solomon) (We subjected) the wind, its morning (stride from sunrise till midnoon) was a month's (journey), and its afternoon (stride from the midday decline of the sun to sunset) was a month's (journey, i.e. in one day he could travel two months' journey). And We caused a fount of (molten) brass to flow for him, and there were jinn that worked in front of him, by the Leave of his Lord. And whosoever of them turned aside from Our Command, We shall cause him to taste of the torment of the blazing Fire.

And to Solomon [We subjected] the wind - its morning [journey was that of] a month - and its afternoon [journey was that of] a month, and We made flow for him a spring of [liquid] copper. And among the jinn were those who worked for him by the permission of his Lord. And whoever deviated among them from Our command - We will make him taste of the punishment of the Blaze.

அன்றி, ஸுலைமானுக்கு காற்றை வசப்படுத்தித் தந்தோம். அதன் காலைப் பயணம் ஒரு மாத தூரமும், அதன் மாலைப் பயணம் ஒரு மாத தூரமுமாக இருந்தது. அன்றி, செம்பை ஊற்று (நீரை)ப் போல் நாம் அவருக்கு (உருகி) ஓடச்செய்தோம். தன் இறைவனுடைய கட்டளைப்படி அவருக்கு வேலை செய்யக்கூடிய ஜின்களையும் நாம் அவருக்கு வசப்படுத்திக் கொடுத்து (அவருக்கு கட்டுப்பட்டு நடப்பதில்) எவன் நம்முடைய கட்டளையைப் புறக்கணிக்கின்றானோ அவனை நரக வேதனையைச் சுவைக்கும் படி நாம் செய்வோம் (என்றோம்).

(அவருக்குப் பின்னர்) ஸுலைமானுக்குக் காற்றை (வசப்படுத்திக் கொடுத்தோம்), அதனுடைய காலைப் பயணம் ஒரு மாத தூரமாகவும் மாலைப் பயணம் ஒரு மாத தூரமாகவும் இருந்தது; மேலும் நாம் அவருக்காக செம்பை ஊற்றுப் போல் உருகியோடச் செய்தோம்; தம் இறைவனுடைய அனுமதிப்படி அவருக்கு முன் உழைப்பவற்றில் ஜின்களிலிருந்தும் (வசப்படுத்திக் கொடுத்தோம்.) அவர்களில் எவர் (அவருக்கு ஊழியம்செய்வதில்) நம்முடைய கட்டளையைப் புறக்கணிக்கின்றாரோ, அவரைக் கொழுந்து விட்டெரியும் (நரக) வேதனையைச் சுவைக்கும் படி நாம் செய்வோம் (என்று எச்சரித்தோம்).

இன்னும், ஸுலைமானுக்குக் காற்றை_(நாம் வசப்படுத்திக் கொடுத்தோம்.) அதன் காலை பயணம் ஒரு மாத தூரமும், அதன் மாலைப் பயணம் ஒரு மாத தூரமாகவும் இருந்தது, மேலும், நாம் அவருக்காக செம்பு ஊற்றை (தண்ணீரைப் போன்று உருகி) ஓடச் செய்தோம், தன் இரட்சகனுடைய அனுமதிப்படி அவருக்குமுன் வேலை செய்யக்கூடிய ஜின்களையும் (நாம் அவருக்கு வசப்படுத்திக் கொடுத்தோம்,) அவர்களில் எவர் நம்முடைய கட்டளையை விட்டும் (புறக்கணித்துத்) திரும்புகின்றாரோ அவரை, கொழுந்து விட்டெரியும் (நரக) வேதனையிலிருந்து சுவைக்குமாறு நாம் செய்வோம் (என்று கூறினோம்).

And to Solomon [We subdued] the wind: its morning course was a month’s journey and its evening course was a month’s journey. And We caused a stream of molten brass to flow for him, and there were some jinn who worked for him by his Lord’s permission; whoever among them deviated from Our command, We made him taste the punishment of the Blazing Fire.

YaAAmaloona lahu ma yashao min mahareeba watamatheela wajifanin kaaljawabi waqudoorin rasiyatin iAAmaloo ala dawooda shukran waqaleelun min AAibadiya alshshakooru

They worked for him as he desired, (making) high rooms, images, basins as large as reservoirs, and (cooking) cauldrons fixed (in their places). "Work you, O family of Dâwûd (David), with thanks!" But few of My slaves are grateful.

They made for him what he willed of elevated chambers, statues, bowls like reservoirs, and stationary kettles. [We said], "Work, O family of David, in gratitude." And few of My servants are grateful.

அ(ன்றி, ஜின் ஆகிய)வைகள் ஸுலைமான் விரும்பிய மாளிகைகளையும், சிலைகளையும், (பெரிய பெரிய) தண்ணீர்த் தொட்டிகளைப் போன்ற பெரும் கொப்பரைகளையும், அசைக்க முடியாத பெரிய (பெரிய) "தேகு" (சமையல் பாத்திரங்)களையும் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தன. (அவருடைய குடும்பத்தினரை நோக்கி) "தாவூதுடைய சந்ததிகளே! இவைகளுக்காக நீங்கள் (நமக்கு) நன்றி செலுத்திக் கொண்டிருங்கள்" (என்று கட்டளையிட்டோம்). எனினும் என்னுடைய அடியார்களில் நன்றி செலுத்துபவர்கள் வெகு சொற்பமாகவே இருக்கின்றார்கள்.

அவை ஸுலைமான் விரும்பிய, மிஹ்ராபுகளையும், சிற்பங்களையும், (தடாகங்கள் போன்ற) பெருங் கொப்பரைகளையும், நகர்த்த முடியா பெரும் பாத்திரங்களையும் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தன. “தாவூதின் சந்ததியினரே! நன்றி செய்யுங்கள். மேலும் என் அடியார்களில் நின்றும் நன்றி செலுத்துவோர் சொற்பமானவர்களே” (என்று கூறினோம்).

அவைகள் (ஸுலைமானாகியா) அவர் நாடிய, மிஹ்ராபுகளை (பள்ளிகள், கோட்டைகள் உயர்ந்த குடியிருப்புத்தலங்கள் ஆகியவற்றை)யும், சிற்பங்களையும், (பெரிய பெரிய தண்ணீர்த்) தடாகங்களைப் போன்ற பெரும் கொப்பரைகளையும், அசைக்க முடியாத (நிலையான) பெரிய (சமையல்) பாத்திரங்களையும் அவருக்காகச் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தன: (ஆகவே,) “தாவூதுடைய சந்ததிகளே! (நீங்கள் நமக்கு) நன்றி செலுத்துவதற்காக செயல்படுங்கள், மேலும், என்னுடைய அடியார்களில் நன்றிசெலுத்துவோர் (வெகு) சொற்பமேயாவர்” (என்று கூறினோம்).

They made for him whatever he wished of sanctuaries, images, basins as large as reservoirs, and huge fixed cooking pots. “Do [good deeds] in gratitude, O household of David!” But few of My slaves are grateful.”

Falamma qadayna AAalayhi almawta ma dallahum AAala mawtihi illa dabbatu alardi takulu minsaatahu falamma kharra tabayyanati aljinnu an law kanoo yaAAlamoona alghayba ma labithoo fee alAAathabi almuheeni

Then when We decreed death for him [Sulaimân (Solomon)], nothing informed them (jinn) of his death except a little worm of the earth which kept (slowly) gnawing away at his stick. So when he fell down, the jinn saw clearly that if they had known the Unseen, they would not have stayed in the humiliating torment.

And when We decreed for Solomon death, nothing indicated to the jinn his death except a creature of the earth eating his staff. But when he fell, it became clear to the jinn that if they had known the unseen, they would not have remained in humiliating punishment.

ஸுலைமானுக்கு நாம் மரணத்தை விதித்தபொழுது அவர் இறந்துவிட்டார் என்பதை, அவர் சாய்ந்திருந்த தடியை அரித்து விட்ட பூச்சியைத் தவிர (மற்ற எவரும்) அந்த ஜின்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கவில்லை. (அவர் சாய்ந்திருந்த தடியைக் கரையான் பூச்சிகள் அரித்துவிட்டன. ஆகவே, அதன் மீது சாய்ந்திருந்த ஸுலைமான் கீழே விழுந்துவிட்டார்.) அவர் கீழே விழவே (வேலை செய்து கொண்டிருந்த) அந்த ஜின்களுக்கு தாங்கள் மறைவான விஷயங்களை அறியக்கூடுமாக இருந்தால் (இரவு பகலாக உழைக்க வேண்டிய) இழிவு தரும் இவ்வேதனையில் தரித்திருக்கமாட்டோம் என்று தெளிவாகத் தெரிந்தது.

அவர் (ஸுலைமான்) மீது நாம் மரணத்தை விதித்த போது அவர் இறந்து விட்டார் என்பதை, அவர் (சாய்ந்திருந்த) தடியை அரித்து விட்ட நிலத்தின் பூச்சி (கரையானைத்) தவிர வேறெதுவும் அந்த ஜின்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கவில்லை; அவர் கீழே விழவே; “தாங்கள் மறைவான விஷயங்களை அறிந்திருக்கக் கூடுமானால் (கடின உழைப்பாகிய) இழிவுதரும் வேதனையில் தாங்கள் தரி பட்டிருந்திருக்க வேண்டியதில்லை” என்று ஜின்களுக்கு தெளிவாக தெரிந்தது.

அவர்மீது நாம் மரணத்தை விதியாக்கிய பொழுது, அவருடைய மரணத்தைப் பற்றி (அவர் சாய்ந்திருந்த) அவருடைய தடியை அரித்துவிட்ட கறையானைத் தவிர, (வேறெதுவும்) அ(ந்த ஜின் இனத்த)வர்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கவில்லை, பின்னர், அவர் கீழே விழவே, “மறைவானதை அறியக்கூடியவர்களாக தாங்கள் இருந்திருந்தால் இழிவான வேதனையில் தாங்கள் தரிப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டியதில்லை!” என்று ஜின்கள் தெளிவாகத் தெரிந்துகொண்டன.

Then when We decreed Solomon’s death, nothing showed them that he was dead except a creature of the earth eating away his staff. When he fell down, the jinn realized that if they had truly had knowledge of the unseen, they would not have remained in the debasing servitude.

Laqad kana lisabain fee maskanihim ayatun jannatani AAan yameenin washimalin kuloo min rizqi rabbikum waoshkuroo lahu baldatun tayyibatun warabbun ghafoorun

Indeed there was for Saba' (Sheba) a sign in their dwelling place – two gardens on the right hand and on the left; (and it was said to them:) "Eat of the provision of your Lord, and be grateful to Him." A fair land and an Oft-Forgiving Lord!

There was for [the tribe of] Saba' in their dwelling place a sign: two [fields of] gardens on the right and on the left. [They were told], "Eat from the provisions of your Lord and be grateful to Him. A good land [have you], and a forgiving Lord."

மெய்யாகவே "ஸபா"வாசிகள் வசித்திருந்த இடத்தில் அவர்களுக்கு நல்லதோர் அத்தாட்சியிருந்தது. (அதன் வழியாகச் செல்பவர்களுக்கு) வலப்புறமாகவும் இடப்புறமாகவும் இரு சோலைகள் இருந்தன. "உங்கள் இறைவன் உங்களுக்கு அருள் புரிந்தவைகளைப் புசித்துக்கொண்டு அவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தி வாருங்கள். (இம்மையில்) வளமான நகரமும், (மறுமையில்) மிக்க மன்னிப்புடைய இறைவனும் (உங்களுக்கு) உண்டு" (எனவும் கூறப்பட்டது).

நிச்சயமாக ஸபா நாட்டினருக்கு, அவர்கள் வசித்திருந்த இடங்களில் ஓர் அத்தாட்சி இருந்தது. (அதன்) வலப்புறத்திலும் இடப்புறத்திலும் இரண்டு சோலைகள் இருந்தன; “உங்கள் இறைவன் அளித்துள்ள ஆகாரத்திலிருந்து புசியுங்கள்; அவனுக்கு நன்றியும் செலுத்தி வாருங்கள். (அது மணமுள்ள) வளமான நகரம்; இன்னும் (அவன்) மன்னிப்பளிக்கும் இறைவன்” (என்று அவர்களுக்குக் கூறப்பட்டது).

திட்டமாக ஸபஉ (என்னும் ஊர்) வாசிகளுக்கு அவர்கள் வசித்திருந்த இடங்களில் ஒரு (நல்ல) அத்தாட்சியிருந்தது, (அதுவே) வலப் புறத்திலும், இடப் புறத்திலும் (இருந்த) இரு சோலைகள். “உங்கள் இரட்சகனின் உணவிலிருந்து உண்ணுங்கள், அவனுக்கு நன்றியும் செலுத்தி வாருங்கள், பரிசுத்தமான நகரம், மிக்க மன்னிப்பளிக்கும் இரட்சகன்” (எனவும் கூறப்பட்டது).

There was a sign for [the people of] Sheba in their dwelling place: two gardens – one on the right and one on the left. “Eat of your Lord’s provision, and be grateful to Him; a pleasant land and a Forgiving Lord.”

FaaAAradoo faarsalna AAalayhim sayla alAAarimi wabaddalnahum bijannatayhim jannatayni thawatay okulin khamtin waathlin washayin min sidrin qaleelin

But they turned away (from the obedience of Allâh), so We sent against them Sail Al-'Arim (flood released from the dam), and We converted their two gardens into gardens producing bitter bad fruit, and tamarisks, and some few lote trees.

But they turned away [refusing], so We sent upon them the flood of the dam, and We replaced their two [fields of] gardens with gardens of bitter fruit, tamarisks and something of sparse lote trees.

எனினும், அவர்கள் (அதனைப்) புறக்கணித்து(ப் பாவத்தில் ஆழ்ந்து) விட்டனர். (ஆகவே, அவர்கள் கட்டியிருந்த மகத்தான தொரு ஏரியை உடைக்கக் கூடிய) பெரும் வெள்ளத்தை அவர்களுக்குக் கேடாக அனுப்பி வைத்தோம். அவர்களுடைய (உன்னதமான கனிகளையுடைய) இரு சோலைகளைக் கசப்பும், புளிப்புமுள்ள காய்களையுடைய மரங்களையும், சில இலந்தை மரங்களையும் கொண்ட தோப்புகளாக மாற்றிவிட்டோம்.

ஆனால் அவர்கள் (இப்போதனையைப்) புறக்கணித்தார்கள்; ஆகவே, அல் அரிம் (என்னும் பெரும் அணையை உடைக்கும்) கடும் பிரவாகத்தை அவர்கள் மீது அனுப்பினோம், இன்னும் (சுவை மிக்க கனிகளைக் கொண்ட) அவர்களுடைய இரு தோப்புகளை கசப்பும் புளிப்புமுள்ள பழங்களுடைய மரங்களும், சில இலந்தை மரங்களும் உடைய இரு தோட்டங்களாக மாற்றினோம்.

ஆனால், அவர்கள் (நம்மைப்) புறக்கணித்துவிட்டனர், (ஆகவே, “மஆரிப்” அணையை உடைக்கக்கூடிய) பெரு வெள்ளத்தை அவர்கள் மீது நாம் அனுப்பி வைத்தோம், அவர் அவர்களுடைய (சுவைமிகுந்த கனிகளையுடைய) இரு சோலைகளை, கசப்பும் புளிப்புமுள்ள பழங்களையுடைய மரங்களாகவும், சில இலந்தை மரங்களையும் உடைய இரு சோலைகளாகவும் நாம் மாற்றிவிட்டோம்.

But they turned away, so We sent against them a devastating flood, and replaced their two gardens with two others of bitter fruit, and tamarisk bushes, and a few lote trees.

Thalika jazaynahum bima kafaroo wahal nujazee illa alkafoora

Like this We requited them because they were ungrateful disbelievers. And never do We requite in such a way except those who are ungrateful (disbelievers).

[By] that We repaid them because they disbelieved. And do We [thus] repay except the ungrateful?

நம்முடைய நன்றியை மறந்ததற்கு இதனை நாம் அவர்களுக்குக் கூலியாகக் கொடுத்தோம். நன்றி கெட்டவர் களுக்கன்றி (மற்றெவருக்கும் இத்தகைய) கூலியை நாம் கொடுப்போமா?

அவர்கள் நிராகரித்ததின் காரணமாக அவர்களுக்கு இக்கூலியை, நாம் கொடுத்தோம். (நன்றி மறந்து) நிராகரித்தோருக்கன்றி வேறெவருக்கும் நாம் (இத்தகைய) கூலியைக் கொடுப்போமா?

அவர்கள் நிராகரித்ததன் காரணமாக, இதனை நாம் அவர்களுக்குக் கூலியாகக் கொடுத்தோம், நிராகரிப்போருக்கே தவிர, (இதுபோன்ற) கூலியை நாம் கொடுப்போமா?

This is how We punished them for their ingratitude; would We punish anyone except those who are utterly ungrateful?

WajaAAalna baynahum wabayna alqura allatee barakna feeha quran thahiratan waqaddarna feeha alssayra seeroo feeha layaliya waayyaman amineena

And We placed, between them and the towns which We had blessed, towns easy to be seen, and We made the stages (of journey) between them easy (saying): "Travel in them safely both by night and day."

And We placed between them and the cities which We had blessed [many] visible cities. And We determined between them the [distances of] journey, [saying], "Travel between them by night or day in safety."

அவர்களுடைய ஊருக்கும் நாம் அருள்புரிந்த (ஸிரியாவிலுள்ள செழிப்பான) ஊர்களுக்கும் இடையில் தொடர்ச்சியாகப் பல கிராமங்களையும் உண்டுபண்ணி அவைகளில் பாதைகளையும் அமைத்து "இரவு பகல் எந்த நேரத்திலும் அச்சமற்றவர்களாக அதில் பிரயாணம் செய்யுங்கள்" (என்று கூறியிருந்தோம்).

இன்னும், அவர்களுக்கிடையிலும், நாம் பரக்கத்து (அவற்றில்) செய்திருக்கிறோமே அந்த ஊர்களுக்கிடையிலும் (வழியில்) தெரியும் பல ஊர்களையும் நாம் உண்டாக்கி அவற்றில் (போக்குவரத்து(ப் பாதைகளையு)ம் அமைத்தோம்; “அவற்றில் இரவுகளிலும், பகல்களிலும் அச்சமற்றவர்களாகப் பிரயாணம் செய்யுங்கள்” (என்று கூறினோம்).

இன்னும், அவர்களுக்கிடையேயும், நாம் பரக்கத்துச் செய்திருந்த ஊர்களுக்கிடையேயும் வெளிப்படையாகத் தென்படக்கூடிய பல ஊர்களையும் ஆக்கி, அவைகளில் பிரயாணத்தை நாம் அமைத்தோம். “இரவுகளிலும், பகல்களிலும் அவற்றில் அச்சமற்றவர்களாகப் பிரயாணம் செய்யுங்கள்” (என்று கூறினோம்.)

We placed [a chain of] towns between them and the towns We had blessed, and We made between them well-measured distances: “Travel through them by night and day safely.”

Faqaloo rabbana baAAid bayna asfarina wathalamoo anfusahum fajaAAalnahum ahadeetha wamazzaqnahum kulla mumazzaqin inna fee thalika laayatin likulli sabbarin shakoorin

But they said: "Our Lord! Make the stages between our journey longer," and they wronged themselves; so We made them as tales (in the land), and We dispersed them all totally. Verily, in this are indeed signs for every steadfast, grateful (person).

But [insolently] they said, "Our Lord, lengthen the distance between our journeys," and wronged themselves, so We made them narrations and dispersed them in total dispersion. Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.

ஆனால், அவர்கள் (இந்த நன்றியைப் புறக்கணித்து "தொடர்ச்சியாக ஊர்கள் இருப்பது எங்கள் பயணத்திற்கு இன்பம் அளிக்கவில்லை.) எங்கள் இறைவனே! எங்கள் பயணங்கள் நெடுந்தூரமாகும்படிச் செய்(வதற்காக மத்தியில் தொடர்ச்சியாக உள்ள இக்கிராமங்களை அழித்துவிடு)வாயாக!" என்று பிரார்த்தித்துத் தமக்குத் தாமே தீங்கிழைத்துக் கொண்டனர். ஆகவே, (அவர்களையும் அவர்களுடைய நகரங்களையும் அழித்து) அவர்களையும் பல இடங்களுக்குச் சிதறடித்துப் பலரும் (இழிவாகப்) பேசக்கூடிய கதைகளாக்கி விட்டோம். பொறுமையுடையவர்கள், நன்றி செலுத்துபவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் நிச்சயம் இதில் பல படிப்பினைகள் இருக்கின்றன.

ஆனால், அவர்கள் “எங்கள் இறைவா! எங்களுடைய பிரயாண(ம் செய்யும் இட)ங்களுக்கு இடையேயுள்ள தூரத்தை அதிகமாக்குவாயாக!” என்று வேண்டித் தமக்குத் தாமே அநியாயம் செய்து கொண்டார்கள்; ஆகவே அவர்களை (பழங்) கதைகளாக ஆக்கி விட்டோம் இன்னும் அவர்களை(ப் பல இடங்களில்) சிதறிப்போகும் படியாய் சிதற வைத்தோம்; நிச்சயமாக இதில் பொறுமையாளர் நன்றி செலுத்துவோர் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் அத்தாட்சிகள் இருக்கின்றன.

ஆனால், அவர்கள் “எங்கள் இரட்சகனே! எங்கள் யாத்திரைகளை நெடுந்தூரமாகும்படி செய்வாயாக! என்று கூறி, தமக்குத் தாமே அவர்கள் அநியாயம் செய்து கொண்டனர், ஆகவே அவர்களை(ப்பற்றி அதிசயமாக ஜனங்கள் பேசும்) செய்திகளாக்கிவிட்டோம். இன்னும் அவர்களை (பல ஊர்களில்) சிதறடித்து(ப்பிரித்து) விட்டோம், பொறுமையுடையவர், நன்றி செலுத்துபவர் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் நிச்சயமாக இதில் (பல) படிப்பினைகள் இருக்கின்றன.

But they said, “Our Lord, make [the distance between] our journeys longer,” and they wronged themselves. So We made them tales [of the past], and dispersed them in all directions. Indeed, there are signs in this for everyone who is patient and grateful.

Walaqad saddaqa AAalayhim ibleesu thannahu faittabaAAoohu illa fareeqan mina almumineena

And indeed Iblîs (Satan) did prove true his thought about them, and they followed him, all except a group of true believers (in the Oneness of Allâh).

And Iblees had already confirmed through them his assumption, so they followed him, except for a party of believers.

நிச்சயமாக (அவர்கள் தன்னைப் பின்பற்றுவார்களென்று) இப்லீஸ் எண்ணிய எண்ணத்தை உண்மை என்றே அவன் கண்டு கொண்டான். ஆகவே, நம்பிக்கை கொண்ட சிலரைத் தவிர (மற்ற) அவர்கள் அனைவரும் அவனையே பின்பற்றினார்கள்.

அன்றியும் (தன் வழிக்கு வருவார்கள் என்று) அவர்களைப் பற்றி இப்லீஸ் எண்ணிய எண்ணத்தை நிச்சயாக அவன் உண்மையாக்கினான்; ஆகவே, முஃமின்களிலுள்ள கூட்டத்தார் தவிர, (மற்றையோர்) அவனையே பின் பற்றினார்கள்.

நிச்சயமாக (ஸபஉ வாசிகளான) அவர்களைப் பற்றி இப்லீஸ் எண்ணிய எண்ணத்தை அவன் உண்மை ஆக்கிக்கொண்டான், ஆகவே, விசுவாசங்கொண்ட ஒரு பிரிவினரைத் தவிர, (மற்றவர்கள்) அவனைப் பின்பற்றினர்.

Satan found his assumption about them to be true, for they followed him, except for a group of the believers,

Wama kana lahu AAalayhim min sultanin illa linaAAlama man yuminu bialakhirati mimman huwa minha fee shakkin warabbuka AAala kulli shayin hafeethun

And he (Iblîs – Satan) had no authority over them, – except that We might test him who believes in the Hereafter, from him who is in doubt about it. And your Lord is a Hafiz (Watchful) over everything. (All-Knower of everything, i.e. He keeps record of every person as regards deeds, and then He will reward them accordingly).

And he had over them no authority except [it was decreed] that We might make evident who believes in the Hereafter from who is thereof in doubt. And your Lord, over all things, is Guardian.

எனினும், அவர்களை நிர்ப்பந்திக்க அவனுக்கு யாதொரு அதிகாரமும் இல்லை. ஆயினும், மறுமையை நம்பாத அவர்களில் (மறுமையை) நம்புபவர் எவர் என்பதை நாம் தெளிவாக அறிவித்து விடுவதற்காகவே இவ்வாறு நடைபெற்றது. உங்களது இறைவனே எல்லா பொருள்களையும் பாதுகாப்பவனாக இருக்கிறான்.

எனினும் அவர்கள் மீது அவனுக்கு யாதோர் அதிகாரமுமில்லை - ஆயினும் மறுமையை நம்புகிறவர்களை அதனைப்பற்றி சந்தேகத்திலிருப்போரை விட்டும் நாம் அறி(வித்திடு)வற்காகவே (இது நடந்தது); மேலும் உம்முடைய இறைவன் அனைத்துப் பொருட்களையும் பாது காப்போனாக இருக்கின்றான்.  

மேலும், அவர்கள் மீது அவனுக்கு எவ்வித அதிகாரமும் இருக்கவில்லை_ ஆயினும், மறுமையை நம்பாது அவர்களில் சந்தேகத்திலிருப் போரிலிருந்து (மறுமையை) நம்புவர் எவர் என்பதை நாம் தெளிவாக அறி(வித்து விடு)வதற்காகவே, (இது நடந்தது.) இன்னும், உமதிரட்சகன் ஒவ்வொரு பொருளையும் பாதுகாப்பவன்.

even though he had no authority over them, except that We might distinguish those who believe in the Hereafter from those who are in doubt about it. Your Lord is Watchful over all things.”

Quli odAAoo allatheena zaAAamtum min dooni Allahi la yamlikoona mithqala tharratin fee alssamawati wala fee alardi wama lahum feehima min shirkin wama lahu minhum min thaheerin

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] to polytheists, pagans): "Call upon those whom you assert (to be associate gods) besides Allâh, they possess not even an atom's (or a small ant's) weight either in the heavens or on the earth, nor have they any share in either, nor there is for Him any supporter from among them."

Say, [O Muhammad], "Invoke those you claim [as deities] besides Allah." They do not possess an atom's weight [of ability] in the heavens or on the earth, and they do not have therein any partnership [with Him], nor is there for Him from among them any assistant.

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி எவைகளை நீங்கள் (தெய்வங்களென) எண்ணிக் கொண்டீர்களோ அவைகளை நீங்கள் அழைத்துப் பாருங்கள். வானத்திலோ பூமியிலோ அவைகளுக்கு ஓர் அணுவளவும் அதிகாரம் இல்லை. அன்றி, அவைகளை படைப்பதில் இவைகளுக்கு எத்தகைய சம்பந்தமும் இல்லை. (அவைகளை படைப்பதில்) இவை அவனுக்கு உதவி செய்யவுமில்லை.

“அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி எவரை நீங்கள் (தெய்வங்களென) எண்ணிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறீர்களோ அவர்களை அழையுங்கள்; வானங்களிலோ, இன்னும் பூமியிலோ அவர்களுக்கு ஓர் அணுவளவும் அதிகாரமில்லை - அவற்றில் இவர்களுக்கு எத்தகைய பங்கும் இல்லை - இன்னும் அவனுக்கு உதவியாளர்களும் அவர்களில் யாருமில்லை.

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக: “அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி, நீங்கள் (கடவுள்களெனத் தவறாக) எண்ணிகொண்டீர்களே அவர்களை, நீங்கள் அழைத்துப் பாருங்கள், வானங்களிலோ, பூமியிலோ அவர்கள் ஓர் அனுவளவையும் சொந்தமாக்கிக் கொள்ளமாட்டார்கள், அவ்விரண்டிலும், அவர்களுக்கு எத்தகைய கூட்டுமில்லை, (இதில்) அவனுக்கு உதவியாளரும் அவர்களில் யாருமில்லை.

Say, “Call upon those whom you claim [to be gods] besides Allah. They do not have even an atom’s weight of authority in the heavens or on earth, nor do they have any share in either of them, nor is any of them a helper to Allah.”

Wala tanfaAAu alshshafaAAatu AAindahu illa liman athina lahu hatta itha fuzziAAa AAan quloobihim qaloo matha qala rabbukum qaloo alhaqqa wahuwa alAAaliyyu alkabeeru

Intercession with Him profits not except for him whom He permits. So much so that when fear is banished from their (angels') hearts, they (angels) say: "What is it that your Lord has said?" They say: "The truth. And He is the Most High, the Most Great."

And intercession does not benefit with Him except for one whom He permits. [And those wait] until, when terror is removed from their hearts, they will say [to one another], "What has your Lord said?" They will say, "The truth." And He is the Most High, the Grand.

அவனுடைய அனுமதி பெற்றவர்களைத் தவிர (மற்றெந்த மலக்கும்) அவனிடத்தில் பரிந்து பேசுவதும் பயனளிக்காது. (அல்லாஹ்வுடைய யாதொரு கட்டளை பிறக்கும் சமயத்தில் அவர்கள் பயந்து நடுங்குகின்றனர்.) அவர்களுடைய உள்ளத்தில் இருந்து நடுக்கம் நீங்கியதும் (அவர்களில் ஒருவர் மற்றவர்களை நோக்கி) "உங்கள் இறைவன் என்ன கட்டளையிட்டான்?" என்று கேட்பார்கள். அதற்கு மற்றவர்கள் "(இடவேண்டிய) நியாயமான கட்டளையையே இட்டான்; அவனோ மிக்க மேலானவனும் மிகப் பெரியவனும் ஆவான்" என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

அன்றியும், அவன் எவருக்கு அனுமதி கொடுக்கிறானோ அவருக்குத் தவிர, அவனிடத்தில் எந்த பரிந்துரையும் பயனளிக்காது; எனவே (நியாய விசாரணைக்கு நிற்கும்) அவர்களின் இருதயங்களிலிருந்து திடுக்கம் நீக்கப்படுமானால் “உங்கள் இறைவன் என்ன கூறினான்” என்று கேட்பார்கள். “உண்மையானதையே! மேலும், அவனே மிக்க உயர்ந்தவன் மகாப்பெரியவன்” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

இன்னும் யாருக்கு அவன் அனுமதி அழித்தானோ அவருக்குத் தவிர அவனிடத்தில் பரிந்துரை பயனளிக்காது, முடிவாக அவர்களுடைய இதயங்களிலிருந்து நடுக்கம் நீக்கப்படுமானால், (அவர்களில் ஒருவர் மற்றவர்களிடம்,) உங்கள் இரட்சகன் என்ன கூறினான்?” என்று கேட்பார்கள். (அதற்கு மற்றவர்கள்,) “உண்மையையே கூறினான். அவனோ மிக்க உயர்ந்தவன், மிகப்பெரியவன்” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

No intercession will be of any benefit before Him, except for those whom He gave permission. Until when their hearts are relieved of dread, they will say [to the angels], “What did your Lord just say?” They will say, “The Truth, and He is the Most High, Most Great.”

Qul man yarzuqukum mina alssamawati waalardi quli Allahu wainna aw iyyakum laAAala hudan aw fee dalalin mubeenin

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] to polytheists, pagans): "Who gives you provision from the heavens and the earth?" Say: "Allâh. And verily, (either) we or you are rightly guided or in plain error."

Say, "Who provides for you from the heavens and the earth?" Say, "Allah. And indeed, we or you are either upon guidance or in clear error."

(நபியே! நிராகரிக்கும் இவர்களை நோக்கி) "வானத்தில் இருந்தும் பூமியில் இருந்தும் உங்களுக்கு உணவளிப்பவன் யார்?" என்று கேளுங்கள். (அதற்கு அவர்கள் பதில் கூறுவதென்ன?) "அல்லாஹ்தான்" என்று (நீங்களே) கூறி "மெய்யாகவே நேரான வழியில் இருப்பவர் யார்? பகிரங்கமான தவறான வழியில் இருப்பவன் யார்? (நீங்களா அல்லது நானா?)" என்றும் கேளுங்கள்.

“வானங்களிலிருந்தும், பூமியிலிருந்தும் உங்களுக்கு உணவு (வசதிகளை) அளிப்பவன் யார்?” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கேளும்; “அல்லாஹ்தான்! இன்னும் நிச்சயமாக, நாங்களா அல்லது நீங்களா நேர்வழியில் அல்லது பகிரங்கமான வழிகேட்டில் இருப்பவர்கள்” என்றும் கூறும்.

(நபியே!) “வானங்களிலிருந்தும், பூமியிலிருந்தும் உங்களுக்கு உணவளிப்பவன் யார்?” என்று (நிராகரிப்போரிடம்) கேட்பீராக! (அதற்கு பதிலாக) “அல்லாஹ்தான் என்று கூறுவீராக! இன்னும், நேர் வழியின் மீது, அல்லது பகிரங்கமான வழிகேட்டில் இருப்பது நிச்சயமாக நாங்களா? அல்லது நீங்களா? (என்றும் கேட்பீராக!)

Say, “Who provides for you from the heavens and earth?” Say, “Allah! And surely either We or you are rightly guided or clearly misguided.”

Qul la tusaloona AAamma ajramna wala nusalu AAamma taAAmaloona

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] to polytheists, pagans): "You will not be asked about our sins, nor shall we be asked of what you do."

Say, "You will not be asked about what we committed, and we will not be asked about what you do."

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "நாங்கள் செய்யும் குற்றங்களைப் பற்றி நீங்கள் கேட்கப்பட மாட்டீர்கள்; (அவ்வாறே) நீங்கள் செய்பவைகளைப் பற்றி நாங்கள் கேட்கப்பட மாட்டோம்"

“நாங்கள் செய்த குற்றம் குறித்து நீங்கள் வினவப்படமாட்டீர்கள்; நீங்கள் செய்தவை குறித்து நாங்கள் வினவப்பட மாட்டோம்” என்றும் கூறுவீராக.

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக. ”நாங்கள் செய்த குற்றங்களைப் பற்றி நீங்கள் கேட்கப்படமாட்டீர்கள், (அவ்வாறே) நீங்கள் செய்பவற்றைப் பற்றி நாங்களும் கேட்கப்படமாட்டோம்.”

Say, “You will not be questioned about our misdeeds, nor will we be questioned about your deeds.”

Qul yajmaAAu baynana rabbuna thumma yaftahu baynana bialhaqqi wahuwa alfattahu alAAaleemu

Say: "Our Lord will assemble us all together (on the Day of Resurrection), then He will judge between us with truth. And He is the Just Judge, the All-Knower (of the true state of affairs)." (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)

Say, "Our Lord will bring us together; then He will judge between us in truth. And He is the Knowing Judge."

(மேலும்) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "முடிவில் (மறுமை நாளில்) நமதிறைவன் நம் அனைவரையும் ஒன்று சேர்த்து நமக்கிடையில் நீதமாகவே தீர்ப்பளிப்பான். அவன் தீர்ப்பளிப்பதில் மிக்க மேலானவனும் (அனைத்தையும்) மிக்க நன்கறிந்தவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்."

“நம்முடைய இறைவன் நம் யாவரையும் ஒன்று சேர்ப்பான்; பின்னர் நமக்கிடையே சத்தியத்தைக் கொண்டு (நீதமாகத்) தீர்ப்பளிப்பான்; இன்னும் அவன் மேலான தீர்ப்பளிப்பவன், (யாவற்றையும்) நன்கறிபவன்” என்றும் கூறுவீராக.

(மேலும்) நீர் கூறுவீராக: “(மறுமை நாளில்) எங்களுடைய இரட்சகன் நமக்கிடையில் ஒன்று சேர்ப்பான், பின்னர் நமக்கிடையில் நீதமாகவே தீர்ப்பளிப்பான், இன்னும் அவனே தீர்ப்பளிப்பவன், (யாவையும்) நன்கறிகிறவன்.

Say, “Our Lord will gather us together, then He will rightly judge between us, for He is the All-Knowing Judge.”

Qul arooniya allatheena alhaqtum bihi shurakaa kalla bal huwa Allahu alAAazeezu alhakeemu

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] to polytheists and pagans): "Show me those whom you have joined with Him as partners. Nay (there are not at all any partners with Him)! But He is Allâh (Alone), the All-Mighty, the All-Wise."

Say, "Show me those whom you have attached to Him as partners. No! Rather, He [alone] is Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

(அன்றி) "அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு இணையானவையென(க் கூறி) நீங்கள் அவனுக்குச் சமமாகச் சேர்த்து வைக்கின்றீர்களே அவைகளை நீங்கள் எனக்குக் காண்பியுங்கள்" (என்று கேட்டு "அவனுக்கு ஒருவருமே இணை) இல்லை. அவனோ அனைவரையும் மிகைத்தவனும் ஞானமுடையவனுமாகிய அல்லாஹ்வாகும்" என்று கூறுங்கள்.

“அவனுக்கு இணையானவர்களென நீங்கள் சேர்த்தீர்களே அவர்களை எனக்குக் காண்பியுங்கள்! அவ்வாறில்லை! (அவனுக்கு எவருமே இணையில்லை.) அவனோ அல்லாஹ்; யாவரையும் மிகைத்தவன்; ஞானம் மிக்கோன்” என்றும் சொல்லும்.

(அன்றி) “அவனுக்கு இணையானவர்கள் என(க் கூறி) நீங்கள் அவனுடன் சேர்த்து வைத்தீர்களே அவர்களை நீங்கள் எனக்குக் காண்பியுங்கள்! அவ்வாறில்லை! மாறாக, அவன்தான் அல்லாஹ்! யாவரையும் மிகைத்தவன், தீர்க்கமான அறிவுடையவன்” என்று கூறுவீராக!

Say, “Show me those whom you have associated with Him as partners. No indeed! Rather, He is Allah, the All-Mighty, All-Wise.”

Wama arsalnaka illa kaffatan lilnnasi basheeran wanatheeran walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona

And We have not sent you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) except as a giver of glad tidings and a warner to all mankind, but most of men know not.

And We have not sent you except comprehensively to mankind as a bringer of good tidings and a warner. But most of the people do not know.

(நபியே!) நாம் உங்களை (இவ்வுலகத்தில் உள்ள) எல்லா மனிதர்களுக்குமே நற்செய்தி கூறுபவராகவும், அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவராகவும் அனுப்பி வைத்திருக்கின்றோம். எனினும், மனிதரில் பெரும்பாலானவர்கள் (இதனை) அறிந்து கொள்ளவில்லை.

இன்னும், (நபியே!) நாம் உம்மை மனித குலம் முழுமைக்கும் நன்மாராயங் கூறுபவராகவும் அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவராகவுமே யன்றி (வேறெவ்வாரும்) அனுப்பவில்லை; ஆனால் மனிதர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் (இதை) அறியமாட்டார்கள்.

மேலும், (நபியே!) உம்மை மனிதர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் நன்மாராயங் கூறுபவராகவும், அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவராகவுமேயன்றி நாம் அனுப்பவில்லை. எனினும், மனிதர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் (இதனை) அறிந்துகொள்ளமாட்டர்கள்.

We have not sent you [O Prophet] except as a bearer of glad tidings and a warner to all mankind, but most people do not know.

Wayaqooloona mata hatha alwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeena

And they say: "When is this promise (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) if you are truthful?"

And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?"

(நபியே!) "நீங்கள் உண்மை சொல்பவராக இருந்தால் (விசாரணைக் காலம் என்று) நீங்கள் கூறும் வாக்குறுதி எப்பொழுது வரும்?" என்று அவர்கள் கேட்கின்றனர்.

இன்னும, அவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்: “உண்மையாளராக நீங்கள் இருப்பின் (மறுமை பற்றிய) அந்த வாக்குறுதி எப்பொழுது (நிறைவேறும்)?” என்று.

மேலும், “நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால், இந்த வாக்குறுதி எப்பொழுது (வரும்?”) என்று (நபியே! உம்மிடம்) அவர்கள் கேட்கின்றனர்.

They say, “When will this promise come to pass, if you are truthful?”

Qul lakum meeAAadu yawmin la tastakhiroona AAanhu saAAatan wala tastaqdimoona

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "The appointment to you is for a Day, which you cannot put back for an hour (or a moment) nor put forward."

Say, "For you is the appointment of a Day [when] you will not remain thereafter an hour, nor will you precede [it]."

அதற்கு நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "உங்களுக்காக ஒரு நாள் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டிருக்கின்றது. அதிலிருந்து நீங்கள் ஒரு நாழிகை பிந்தவுமாட்டீர்கள்; முந்தவுமாட்டீர்கள்."

“(அந்த வாக்கு நிறைவேறுவதற்கு) உங்களுக்கு ஒரு நாள் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. அதிலிருந்து நீங்கள் ஒரு நாழிகை பிந்தவும் மாட்டீர்கள், முந்தவும் மாட்டீர்கள்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்.  

அதற்கு நீர் கூறுவீராக: “உங்களுக்காக ஒரு நாளின் தவணையிருக்கிறது, அதிலிருந்து நீங்கள் ஒரு நாழிகை பிந்தவும்மாட்டீர்கள், முந்தவும்மாட்டீர்கள்

Say, “There is an appointed Day for you that you can neither delay for a while, nor can you bring it forward.”

Waqala allatheena kafaroo lan numina bihatha alqurani wala biallathee bayna yadayhi walaw tara ithi alththalimoona mawqoofoona AAinda rabbihim yarjiAAu baAAduhum ila baAAdin alqawla yaqoolu allatheena istudAAifoo lillatheena istakbaroo lawla antum lakunna mumineena

And those who disbelieve say: "We believe not in this Qur'ân nor in that which was before it." But if you could see when the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong doers) will be made to stand before their Lord, how they will cast the (blaming) word one to another! Those who were deemed weak will say to those who were arrogant: "Had it not been for you, we should certainly have been believers!"

And those who disbelieve say, "We will never believe in this Qur'an nor in that before it." But if you could see when the wrongdoers are made to stand before their Lord, refuting each other's words... Those who were oppressed will say to those who were arrogant, "If not for you, we would have been believers."

"நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் இந்தக் குர்ஆனையும் நம்பமாட்டோம்; இதற்கு முன்னுள்ள வேதங்களையும் (நம்பமாட்டோம்)" என்றும் இந்த நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர். ஆகவே, இவ்வக்கிரமக் காரர்கள் தங்கள் இறைவன் முன் நிறுத்தப்பட்டு அவர்களில் (சிலர் சிலரை நிந்திப்பதையும்) பலவீனமானவர்கள் கர்வம் கொண்ட வர்களை நோக்கி "நீங்கள் இல்லாவிடில் நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டேயிருப்போம்" என்று கூறுவதையும் நீங்கள் பார்ப்பீராயின் (அவர்களின் இழி நிலைமையைக் கண்டு கொள்வீர்கள்).

“இந்தக் குர்ஆனையும், இதற்கு முன்னுள்ளதையும் நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் நம்பமாட்டோம்” என்று காஃபிரானவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்; இந்த அநியாயக் காரார்கள் தங்கள் இறைவனிடம் நிறுத்தப்படும் போது நீர் பார்ப்பீரானால் அவர்களில் சிலர் சிலர் மீது பேச்சைத் திருப்பி பலஹீனர்களாகக் கருதப்பட்டவர்கள் பெருமையைத் தேடிக் கொண்டிருந்தோரை நோக்கி, “நீங்கள் இல்லாதிருந்திருப்பின், நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் முஃமின்களாகியிருப்போம்” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

“நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் இந்தக் குர் ஆனையும், இதற்கு முன்னுள்ள (வேதத்)தையும் நம்பவேமாட்டோம்” என்று (இந்த) நிராகரிப்போர் கூறுகின்றனர், ஆகவே இந்த அநியாயக்காரர்கள் தங்கள் இரட்சகன் முன் நிறுத்தபட்டவர்களாக நீர் பார்ப்பீராயின், அவர்களில் சிலர் சிலரின்பால் கூற்றைத் திருப்புவர், (அப்போது) பலவீனமாகக் கருதப்பட்டவர்கள் பெருமையடித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தோரிடம், “நீங்கள் இல்லாவிடில், நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் விசுவாசங்கொண்டவர்களாகியிருந்திருப்போம்” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

Those who disbelieve say, “We will never believe in this Qur’an or in any [Scripture] before it.” If only you could see when the wrongdoers will be made to stand before their Lord, throwing blame at one another! Those who were oppressed will say to those who were arrogant, “Had it not been for you, we would have been believers.”

Qala allatheena istakbaroo lillatheena istudAAifoo anahnu sadadnakum AAani alhuda baAAda ith jaakum bal kuntum mujrimeena

And those who were arrogant will say to those who were deemed weak: "Did we keep you back from guidance after it had come to you? Nay, but you were Mujrimûn (polytheists, sinners, disbelievers, criminals)."

Those who were arrogant will say to those who were oppressed, "Did we avert you from guidance after it had come to you? Rather, you were criminals."

அதற்கு (அவர்களில்) கர்வம் கொண்டிருந்தவர்கள் பலவீனமாக இருந்தவர்களை நோக்கி "உங்களிடம் நேரான வழி வந்ததன் பின்னர் (நீங்கள் அதில் செல்லாது) நாங்களா உங்களைத் தடுத்துக் கொண்டோம்? (அவ்வாறு) இல்லை; நீங்கள்தாம் (அதில் செல்லாது) குற்றவாளிகளானீர்கள்" என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

பெருமை தேடிக் கொண்டிருந்தவர்கள், பலஹீனர்களாகக் கருதப்பட்டவர்களிடம், “உங்களிடம் நேர்வழி வந்தபின், அதை விட்டும் உங்களை நாங்களா தடுத்தோம்? அல்ல! நீங்கள் தாம் (நேர்வழி ஏற்காத) குற்றாவளிகளாக இருந்தீர்கள்” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

(அதற்கு அவர்களில்) பெருமையடித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தவர்கள், பலவீனமாகக் கருதப்பட்டவர்களிடம், “உங்களிடம் நேர் வழி வந்ததன் பின்னர், (நீங்கள் அதில் சொல்லாது) அதை விட்டும் நாங்களா உங்களை தடுத்தோம்? (அவ்வாறு) இல்லை, நீங்கள் தாம் (அதில் செல்லாது) குற்றவாளிகளாக இருந்தீர்கள்” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

Those who were arrogant will say to those who were oppressed, “Was it we who prevented you from guidance after it came to you? Rather, you yourselves were wicked.”

Waqala allatheena istudAAifoo lillatheena istakbaroo bal makru allayli waalnnahari ith tamuroonana an nakfura biAllahi wanajAAala lahu andadan waasarroo alnnadamata lamma raawoo alAAathaba wajaAAalna alaghlala fee aAAnaqi allatheena kafaroo hal yujzawna illa ma kanoo yaAAmaloona

Those who were deemed weak will say to those who were arrogant: "Nay, but it was your plotting by night and day, when you ordered us to disbelieve in Allâh and set up rivals to Him!" And each of them (parties) will conceal their own regrets (for disobeying Allâh during this worldly life), when they behold the torment. And We shall put iron collars round the necks of those who disbelieved. Are they requited aught except what they used to do?

Those who were oppressed will say to those who were arrogant, "Rather, [it was your] conspiracy of night and day when you were ordering us to disbelieve in Allah and attribute to Him equals." But they will [all] confide regret when they see the punishment; and We will put shackles on the necks of those who disbelieved. Will they be recompensed except for what they used to do?

அதற்கு, பலவீனமாயிருந்தவர்கள் கர்வம் கொண்டிருந் தவர்களை நோக்கி "என்னே! நாங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வை நிராகரித்து விட்டு அவனுக்கு இணைவைக்குமாறு நீங்கள் எங்களை ஏவி, இரவு பகலாக சூழ்ச்சி செய்யவில்லையா?" என்று கூறுவார்கள். ஆகவே, இவர்கள் அனைவருமே வேதனையைக் (கண்ணால்) காணும் சமயத்தில் தங்கள் துக்கத்தை மறைத்துக்கொண்டு (இவ்வாறு) கூறுவார்கள். ஆனால், நிராகரித்தவர்களுடைய கழுத்துகளில் நாம் விலங்கிட்டு விடுவோம். இவர்கள் செய்துகொண்டிருந்த (தீய) செயலுக்குத் தக்க கூலியையன்றி மற்றெதுவும் கொடுக்கப் படுவார்களா?

அதற்கு பலஹீனர்களாகக் கருதப் பட்டவர்கள் பெருமை தேடிக் கொண்டவர்களிடம், “அப்படியல்ல! நீங்கள் தாம் இரவும் பகலும் சூழ்ச்சி செய்து, நாங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வை நிராகரித்து விட்டு, அவனுக்கு இணைவைக்குமாறு ஏவினீர்கள்” என்று கூறுவார்கள். மேலும், அவர்கள் வேதனையைப் பார்க்கும் போது இந்தக் கைசேதத்தை (ஒருவருக்கொருவர்) மறைப்பார்கள்; இன்னும் நிராகரித்தவர்களுடைய கழுத்துகளில் நாம் விலங்கிட்டுவிடுவோம்; அவர்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்த (தீ) வினைகளுக்கன்றி கூலி கொடுக்கப்படுவார்களா?

அன்றியும், பலவீனமாகக் கருதப்பட்டவர்கள், பெருமையடித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தவர்களிடம், “அவ்வாறல்ல! நாங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வை நிராகரிப்பதற்கும், அவனுக்குச் சமமானவர்களை (_கூட்டுக்காரர்களை) நாங்கள் ஆக்குவதற்கும் நீங்கள் எங்களை ஏவிய பொழுது, (உங்களுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியசெய்தது) இரவிலும், பகலிலும் (எங்களுக்கு நீங்கள்) செய்த சூழ்ச்சியாகும். “இன்னும், அவர்கள் (யாவருமே) வேதனையைக் (கண்ணால்) காணும் சமயத்தில், தங்கள் கைசேதத்தை (தங்களுக்குள்) மறைத்துக் கொள்வார்கள், மேலும், நிராகரித்தோருடைய கழுத்துகளில் நாம் விலங்குகளை ஆக்குவோம், அவர்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்ததற்கல்லாமல் (வேறெதற்கும்) அவர்கள் கூலி கொடுக்கப்படுவார்களா?

Those who were oppressed will say to those who were arrogant, “Rather, [it was your] conspiracy of night and day when you were ordering us to disbelieve in Allah and to set up rivals to Him.” They will hide their remorse when they see the punishment, and We will put shackles around the necks of those who disbelieved. Will they be recompensed except for what they used to do?

Wama arsalna fee qaryatin min natheerin illa qala mutrafooha inna bima orsiltum bihi kafiroona

And We did not send a warner to a township but those who were given the worldly wealth and luxuries among them said: "We believe not in the (Message) with which you have been sent."

And We did not send into a city any warner except that its affluent said, "Indeed we, in that with which you were sent, are disbelievers."

நாம் நம்முடைய அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்யும் தூதரை எங்கெங்கு அனுப்பினோமோ அங்கெல்லாம் இருந்த செல்வந்தர்கள் (அவரை நோக்கி) "நிச்சயமாக நாம் நீங்கள் கொண்டு வந்த தூதை நிராகரிக்கின்றோம்" என்று கூறாமல் இருக்கவில்லை.

அன்றியும் அச்சமூட்டி எச்சிரிப்போரை நாம் (எந்த) ஓர் ஊருக்கு அனுப்பிய போதும், அங்கிருந்த செல்வந்தர்கள்; “நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் நீங்கள் எதைக் கொண்டு அனுப்பப்பட்டிருக்கின்றீர்களோ, அதை நிராகரிக்கின்றோம்” என்று கூறாமல் இருக்கவில்லை.

இன்னும், எந்த ஊருக்கும்_அங்கிருந்த செல்வந்தர்கள், “நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் எதைக் கொண்டு அனுப்பட்டீர்களோ அதை நாங்கள் நிராகரிக்கின்றோம்” என்று கூறியே தவிர, நாம் அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிப்போரை அனுப்பவில்லை.

We never sent a warner to a town except that its affluent ones said, “We disbelieve in what you have been sent with.”

Waqaloo nahnu aktharu amwalan waawladan wama nahnu bimuAAaththabeena

And they say: "We are more in wealth and in children, and we are not going to be punished."

And they said, "We are more [than the believers] in wealth and children, and we are not to be punished."

அன்றி "நாங்கள் அதிகமான பொருளையும் சந்ததிகளையும் உடையவர்கள். ஆகவே, (மறுமையில்) நாங்கள் வேதனை செய்யப்பட மாட்டோம்" என்று கூறினர்.

இன்னும்: “நாங்கள் செல்வங்களாலும் மக்களாலும் மிகுந்தவர்கள், ஆகவே (இத்தகு செல்வங்களைப் பெற்றிருக்கும்) நாங்கள் வேதனை செய்யப்படுபவர்கள் அல்லர்” என்றும் கூறுகிறார்கள்.

அன்றியும், “செல்வங்களாலும், மக்களாலும் நாங்கள் மிக அதிகமானவர்கள், (ஆகவே மறுமையில்) நாங்கள் வேதனை செய்யப்படுபவர்களும் அல்லர்” என்றும் அவர்கள் கூறினர்.

They said, “We have greater wealth and more children, and we will not be punished”.

Qul inna rabbee yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashao wayaqdiru walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "Verily, my Lord enlarges the provision to whom He wills and restricts, but most men know not."

Say, "Indeed, my Lord extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it], but most of the people do not know."

(அதற்கு நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "நிச்சயமாக என் இறைவன், தான் விரும்பியவர்களுக்குப் பொருளை அதிகமாகவும் கொடுக்கின்றான்; (தான் விரும்பியவர்களுக்குக்) குறைத்தும் விடுகின்றான். எனினும், மனிதரில் பெரும்பாலானவர்கள் (இதனை) அறிந்து கொள்வதில்லை."

“நிச்சயமாக என்னுடைய இறைவன் தான் நாடியவர்களுக்கு, செல்வத்தை விசாலப்படுத்துவான்; இன்னும், (அதை, தான் நாடியவர்களுக்கு சுருக்கியும் விடுகிறான் - எனினும் மனிதரில் பெரும்பாலோர் (இதை) அறிய மாட்டார்கள்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்.  

(அதற்கு நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக: “நிச்சயமாக என் இரட்சகன், தான் நாடியவர்களுக்கு சம்பத்தை விசாலமாகவும் கொடுக்கின்றான், (தான் நாடியவர்களுக்கு அளவோடு) சுருக்கியும் கொடுக்கின்றான், எனினும், மனிதர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் (அதன் கருத்தை) அறிந்து கொள்ளமாட்டார்கள்.

Say, “My Lord extends provision to whom He wills or restricts it, but most people do not know”.

Wama amwalukum wala awladukum biallatee tuqarribukum AAindana zulfa illa man amana waAAamila salihan faolaika lahum jazao alddiAAfi bima AAamiloo wahum fee alghurufati aminoona

And it is not your wealth, nor your children that bring you nearer to Us (i.e. please Allâh), but only he who believes (in the Islâmic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds (will please Us); as for such, there will be twofold reward for what they did, and they will reside in the high dwellings (Paradise) in peace and security.

And it is not your wealth or your children that bring you nearer to Us in position, but it is [by being] one who has believed and done righteousness. For them there will be the double reward for what they did, and they will be in the upper chambers [of Paradise], safe [and secure].

(நீங்கள் எண்ணுகிறவாறு) உங்களுடைய பொருள்களும் சந்ததிகளும் உங்களை நம்மிடம் சேர்க்கக் கூடியவைகளல்ல. ஆயினும், எவர்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு நற்செயல்களைச் செய்கிறார்களோ (அவையே அவர்களை நம்மிடம் சேர்க்கும்.) இத்தகையவர்களுக்கு அவர்கள் செய்த (நற்)செயலின் காரணமாக இரட்டிப்பான கூலியுண்டு. அன்றி, அவர்கள் (சுவனபதியிலுள்ள) மேல் மாடிகளில் கவலையற்றும் வசிப்பார்கள்.

இன்னும் உங்களுடைய செல்வங்களோ, உங்களுடைய மக்களோ (உங்களுக்குத் தகுதி கொடுத்து) உங்களை நம்மளவில் நெருங்கி வைக்க கூடியவர்கள் அல்லர். ஆனால் எவர் ஈமான் கொண்டு, ஸாலிஹான (நல்ல) அமல் செய்கின்றாரோ அத்தகையோர்க்கு, அவர்கள் செய்ததற்கு இரட்டிப்பு நற்கூலி உண்டு; மேலும் அவர்கள் (சுவனபதியின்) உன்னதமான மாளிகைகளில் நிம்மதியுடன் இருப்பார்கள்.

உங்களுடைய செல்வங்களோ, உங்களுடைய மக்களோ உங்களை நம்மிடத்தில் சமீபமாக நெருக்கிவைப்பவர்கள் அல்லர்_ விசுவாசங்கொண்டு நற்செயல்களும் செய்தவரைத்தவிர_ அவர்களுக்கு அவர்கள் செய்த (நல்) வினையின் காரணமாக இரட்டிப்பான கூலியுண்டு, அவர்களோ (சுவனபதியிலுள்ள) உயர்ந்த மாளிகைகளில் நிம்மதியாக இருப்பவர்கள்.

It is not your wealth or your children that bring you closer to Us; but those who believe and do righteous deeds, it is they who will have a multiple reward for what they did, and they will be safe in the lofty mansions.

Waallatheena yasAAawna fee ayatina muAAajizeena olaika fee alAAathabi muhdaroona

And those who strive against Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), to frustrate them, they will be brought to the torment.

And the ones who strive against Our verses to cause [them] failure - those will be brought into the punishment [to remain].

எவர்கள் நம்முடைய வசனங்களுக்கு எதிரிடையாக முயற்சிக்கின்றார்களோ அவர்கள் (நம்முடைய) வேதனையை அடைவதற்காக (நம்முன்) கொண்டு வரப்படுவார்கள்.

அன்றியும், எவர்கள் நம்முடைய வசனங்களிலே தோல்வியை உண்டாக்க முயல்கிறார்களோ, அவர்கள் வேதனையில் கொண்டு வரப்படுவார்கள்.

மேலும், நம்முடைய வசனங்கள் விஷயத்தில் இயலாமையிலாக்குகின்ற (எண்ணங்கொண்ட)வர்களாக முயற்சிக்கின்றார்களே அத்தகையோர்_ (மறுமையில்) நரக வேதனையில் முன்னிலைப்படுத்தப்(பட்டு சேர்க்கப்)படுபவர்கள்.

But those who strive against Our verses, seeking to discredit them, it is they who will be summoned to the punishment.

Qul inna rabbee yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashao min AAibadihi wayaqdiru lahu wama anfaqtum min shayin fahuwa yukhlifuhu wahuwa khayru alrraziqeena

Say: "Truly, my Lord enlarges the provision for whom He wills of His slaves, and (also) restricts (it) for him, and whatsoever you spend of anything (in Allâh's Cause), He will replace it. And He is the Best of providers."

Say, "Indeed, my Lord extends provision for whom He wills of His servants and restricts [it] for him. But whatever thing you spend [in His cause] - He will compensate it; and He is the best of providers."

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "நிச்சயமாக என் இறைவன் தன் அடியார்களில் தான் விரும்பியவர்களுக்கு அதிகமான பொருளைக் கொடுக்கின்றான்; (தான் விரும்பியவர்களுக்கு) அதன் அளவைக் குறைத்தும் விடுகிறான். ஆகவே, நீங்கள் எதை தானம் செய்தபோதிலும் அவன் அதற்குப் பிரதி கொடுத்தே தீருவான். அவன் கொடையளிப்பவர்களில் மிக்க மேலானவன்.

“நிச்சயமாக என் இறைவன் தன் அடியார்களில் யாருக்கு நாடுகிறானோ, அவருக்கு செல்வத்தை விசாலப்படுத்துவான்; இன்னும் தான் நாடியோருக்கு சுருக்கியும் விடுகிறான்; ஆகவே நீங்கள் எந்தப் பொருளை (அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையில்) செலவு செய்த போதிலும், அவன் அதற்குப் பிரதிபலன் அளிக்கிறான்; மேலும், அவன் கொடையாளிகள் அனைவரிலும் மிகவும் மேலானவன்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்.

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக: “நிச்சயமாக என் இரட்சகன், தன் அடியார்களில் தான் நாடியவர்களுக்கு, வாழ்வாதாரத்தை விசாலப் படுத்துகிறான், (தான் விரும்பியவர்களுக்கு) அளவோடும் கொடுக்கிறான். எந்தப் பொருளை நீங்கள் செலவு செய்த போதிலும் அதற்குப் பகரமானதை அவன் அளிக்கிறான், இன்னும், வாழ்வாதாரங்களை நல்குவோரில் அவன் மிகச் சிறந்தவன்.

Say, “My Lord extends provision to whom He wills of His slaves or restricts it. Whatever you spend in charity, He will compensate for it, for He is the Best of Providers.”

Wayawma yahshuruhum jameeAAan thumma yaqoolu lilmalaikati ahaolai iyyakum kanoo yaAAbudoona

And (remember) the Day when He will gather them all together, then He will say to the angels: "Was it you that these people used to worship?"

And [mention] the Day when He will gather them all and then say to the angels, "Did these [people] used to worship you?"

(மலக்குகளை வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்த) அவர்கள் அனைவரும் ஒன்று சேர்க்கப்படும் நாளில், மலக்குகளை நோக்கி "இவர்கள் உங்களையா வணங்கி வந்தார்கள்?" என்று கேட்கப்படும்.

(மலக்குகளை வணங்கி வந்த) அவர்கள் அனைவரையும் ஒன்று கூட்டும் அந்நாளில், அவன் மலக்குகளிடம் “இவர்கள்தானா உங்களை வணங்கிக்கொண்டு இருந்தார்கள்” என்று (அல்லாஹ்) கேட்பான்.

(மலக்குகளை வணங்கி வந்த) அவர்கள் அனைவரையும் அவன் (_அல்லாஹ்) ஒன்றுதிரட்டும் நாளை (நினைவு கூறுங்கள்). பின்னர் மலக்குகளிடம், இவர்கள்தானா உங்களை வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தவர்கள்? என்று அவன் கேட்பான்.

On the Day when He gathers them all together, then He will say to the angels, “Was it you that they used to worship?”

Qaloo subhanaka anta waliyyuna min doonihim bal kanoo yaAAbudoona aljinna aktharuhum bihim muminoona

They (the angels) will say: "Glorified are You! You are our Walî (Lord) instead of them. Nay, but they used to worship the jinn; most of them were believers in them."

They will say, "Exalted are You! You, [O Allah], are our benefactor not them. Rather, they used to worship the jinn; most of them were believers in them."

அதற்கவர்கள் "(எங்கள் இறைவனே!) நீ மிகப் பரிசுத்தமானவன். நீதான் எங்கள் இறைவன்; அவர்களன்று. (இவர்கள் எங்களை) அல்ல! ஜின்களையே வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தனர். அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலானவர்கள் அவர்களையே (அந்த ஜின்களையே) நம்பிக்கை கொண்டும் இருந்தார்கள்" என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

(இதற்கு மலக்குகள்:) “நீ மிகத் தூய்மையானவன்; நீயே எங்கள் பாதுகாவலன்; இவர்கள் அல்லர்; எனினும் இவர்கள் ஜின்களை வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள் - இவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் அவர்(ஜின்)கள் மேல் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டிருந்தவர்கள்” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

அ(தற்க)வர்கள், “(எங்கள் இரட்சகனே!) நீ மிகப் பரிசுத்தமானவன், அவர்களன்றி நீதான் எங்கள் பாதுகாவலன், எனினும் அவர்கள் ஜின்களை வணங்கிக்கொண்டிருந்தனர், அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் அவர்களை(_அந்த ஜின்களை) விசுவாசித்துமிருந்தவர்கள்” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

They will say, “Glory be to You! You are our Protector, not they. Rather they used to worship the jinn; most of them believed in them.”

Faalyawma la yamliku baAAdukum libaAAdin nafAAan wala darran wanaqoolu lillatheena thalamoo thooqoo AAathaba alnnari allatee kuntum biha tukaththiboona

So Today (i.e. the Day of Resurrection), none of you can profit or harm one another. And We shall say to those who did wrong [i.e. worshipped others (like the angels, jinn, prophets, saints, righteous persons) along with Allâh]: "Taste the torment of the Fire which you used to deny."

But today you do not hold for one another [the power of] benefit or harm, and We will say to those who wronged, "Taste the punishment of the Fire, which you used to deny."

அந்நாளில் உங்களில் ஒருவர் மற்றவருக்கு நன்மையோ தீமையோ செய்ய சக்தியற்றவராக இருப்பார். அன்றி (அச்சமயம்) அவ்வக்கிரமக்காரர்களை நோக்கி "நீங்கள் (நம்முடைய வேதனையைப் பொய்யாக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்ததன் காரணமாக இந்நரக வேதனையைச் சுவைத்துப் பாருங்கள்" எனக் கூறுவோம்.

“இன்றைய தினம், உங்களில் சிலர் (உங்களில் மற்றும்) சிலருக்கு நன்மையோ, தீமையோ செய்யச் சக்தியற்றவர்களாவீர்; நீங்கள் எதைப் பொய்ப்படுத்திக் கொண்டிருந்தீர்களோ அந்(நரக) நெருப்பின் வேதனையைச் சுவைத்துப் பாருங்கள் என்றும் அநியாயம் செய்தார்களே அவர்களிடம்” நாம் கூறுவோம்.

“எனவே, இந்நாளில் உங்களில் சிலர் (மற்ற) சிலருக்கு நன்மையோ, தீமையோ செய்ய அதிகாரம் பெற மாட்டார்கள்; (இம்மையில்) அநியாயம் செய்தார்களே அவர்களுக்கு “நீங்கள் எதைப் பொய்யாக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தீர்களோ அத்தகைய (நரக) நெருப்பின் வேதனையைச் சுவைத்துப் பாருங்கள்” என்றும் நாம் கூறுவோம்.

So Today none of you has the power to benefit or harm one another. And We will say to the wrongdoers, “Taste the punishment of the Fire which you used to deny!”

Waitha tutla AAalayhim ayatuna bayyinatin qaloo ma hatha illa rajulun yureedu an yasuddakum AAamma kana yaAAbudu abaokum waqaloo ma hatha illa ifkun muftaran waqala allatheena kafaroo lilhaqqi lamma jaahum in hatha illa sihrun mubeenun

And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, they say: "This (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) is naught but a man who wishes to hinder you from that which your fathers used to worship." And they say: "This (the Qur'ân) is nothing but an invented lie." And those who disbelieve say of the truth when it has come to them (i.e. Prophet Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] when Allâh sent him as a Messenger with proofs, evidences, verses of this Qur'ân, lessons, signs, etc.): "This is nothing but evident magic!"

And when our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, they say, "This is not but a man who wishes to avert you from that which your fathers were worshipping." And they say, "This is not except a lie invented." And those who disbelieve say of the truth when it has come to them, "This is not but obvious magic."

அவர்களுக்கு நம்முடைய தெளிவான வசனங்கள் ஓதிக் காண்பிக்கப்பட்டால் அதற்கவர்கள் (நம் தூதரைப் பற்றி) "இவர் ஒரு சாதாரண மனிதரே அன்றி வேறில்லை. உங்கள் மூதாதைகள் வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தவைகளிலிருந்து உங்களைத் தடுத்து விடவே இவர் விரும்புகிறார்" என்றும் (நம்முடைய தூதர் கூறுகிற) "இது வெறும் கட்டுக்கதையேயன்றி வேறில்லை" என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர். அன்றி "(திருக்குர்ஆனாகிய) இந்த உண்மை வந்த சமயத்தில், இது பகிரங்கமான சூனியமேயன்றி வேறில்லை" என்றும் இந்த நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர்.

நம்முடைய தெளிவான வசனங்கள் அவர்களுக்கு ஓதிக் காண்பிக்கப்பட்டால், அவர்கள்: “இவர் (ஒரு சாதாரண) மனிதரே அன்றி வேறில்லை; உங்கள் மூதாதையவர்கள் வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தவற்றை விட்டும் உங்களைத் தடுத்து விடவே இவர் விரும்புகிறார்” என்று கூறுகிறார்கள்; இன்னும் அவர்கள் “இது இட்டுக் கட்டப்பட்ட பொய்யேயன்றி வேறில்லை” என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர். மேலும், அல் ஹக்கு (சத்தியம்: திருக் குர்ஆன்) அவர்களிடத்தில் வந்தபோது, “இது வெளிப்படையான சூனியமேயன்றி வேறில்லை” என்றும் நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்.

இன்னும் தெளிவான நம்முடைய வசனங்கள் அவர்களுக்கு ஓதிக் காண்பிக்கப்பட்டால், “உங்கள் மூதாதையர்கள் வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தவைகளை விட்டும், உங்களைத் தடுத்துவிட நாடுகின்ற ஒரு மனிதரேயன்றி இவர் (வேறு) இல்லை” என்று அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர், மேலும், அவர்கள், (அவர் கூறுகிற) “இது இட்டுகட்டப்பட்ட பொய்யேயன்றி வேறில்லை” என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர், மேலும், (திருக்குர் ஆனாகிய இந்த) உண்மை_அவர்களிடம் வந்த சமயத்தில், ‘இது பகிரங்கமான சூனியமேயன்றி (வேறு) இல்லை” என்றும் நிராகரிப்போர் கூறுகின்றனர்.

When Our clear verses are recited to them, they say, “This is nothing but a man who wishes to turn you away from what your forefathers used to worship.” And they say, “This is nothing but a fabricated lie.” And the disbelievers say about the Truth when it comes to them, “This is nothing but clear magic,”

Wama ataynahum min kutubin yadrusoonaha wama arsalna ilayhim qablaka min natheerin

And We had not given them Scriptures which they could study, nor sent to them before you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) any warner (Messenger).

And We had not given them any scriptures which they could study, and We had not sent to them before you, [O Muhammad], any warner.

(நபியே! இதற்கு முன்னர்) நாம் (உங்களை நிராகரிக்கும் அரபிகளாகிய) இவர்களுக்கு, இவர்கள் ஓதக்கூடிய யாதொரு வேதத்தையும் கொடுக்கவும் இல்லை; அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கக்கூடிய யாதொரு தூதரையும் உங்களுக்கு முன்னர் நாம் அவர்களிடம் அனுப்பவுமில்லை. (இவ்வாறிருந்தும் அவர்கள் நிராகரிக்கின்றனர்.)

எனினும் (இதற்கு முன்) நாம் இவர்களுக்கு இவர்கள் ஓதக்கூடிய வேதங்கள் எதையும் கொடுக்கவில்லை; உமக்கு முன்னர், நாம் இவர்களிடம் அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவரையும் அனுப்பவில்லை.

(நபியே!) இவர்களுக்கு, (இதற்கு முன்னர்) வேதங்களிலிருந்து எதையும்_ அதனை அவர்கள் ஓதுவதற்காக நாம் கொடுக்கவுமில்லை, அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்ககூடிய எவரையும் உமக்கு முன்னர் நாம் அவர்களின்பால் அனுப்பவுமில்லை.

even though We did not give them any scriptures to study, nor did We send them any warner before you.

Wakaththaba allatheena min qablihim wama balaghoo miAAshara ma ataynahum fakaththaboo rusulee fakayfa kana nakeeri

And those before them denied; these have not received even a tenth of what We had granted to those (of old); yet they denied My Messengers. Then how (terrible) was My denial (punishment)!

And those before them denied, and the people of Makkah have not attained a tenth of what We had given them. But the former peoples denied My messengers, so how [terrible] was My reproach.

இவர்களுக்கு முன்னிருந்த (அரபிகளல்லாத)வர்களும் (அவர்களிடம் அனுப்பப்பட்ட நம்முடைய தூதர்களை இவ்வாறே) பொய்யாக்கினார்கள். அவர்களுக்கு நாம் கொடுத்திருந்ததில் பத்தில் ஒரு பாகத்தையும் இவர்கள் அடைந்து விடவில்லை. (அதற்குள் ளாகவே) இவர்கள் எனது தூதர்களைப் பொய்யாக்க முற்பட்டு இருக்கின்றனர். (இவர்களுக்கு முன்னர் நமது தூதர்களை நிராகரித்து பொய்யாக்கியவர்களை) நான் தண்டித்தது எவ்வாறாயிற்று? (என்பதை இவர்கள் கவனிப்பார்களா?)

மேலும் இவர்களுக்கு முன்னிருந்த (ஏனைய சமூகத்த)வர்களும் (இவ்வாறே) பொய்ப்பிக்க முற்பட்டனர், அன்றியும் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்ததில் பத்தில் ஒன்றைக் கூட இவர்கள் அடையவில்லை; ஆகவே அவர்கள் என் தூதர்களைப் பொய்ப்பிக்க முற்பட்டார்கள்; அந்த நிராகரிப்பு (கடின வேதனையைக் கொண்டு வருவதாக) எவ்வாறு இருந்தது (என்பதை இவர்கள் நினைவு கூறட்டும்)

இவர்களுக்கு முன்னிருந்தவர்களும் (நம்முடைய தூதர்களைப்) பொய்யாக்கினார்கள். இன்னும் அவர்களுக்கும் நாம் கொடுத்திருந்ததில், பத்தில் ஒரு பாகத்தையேனும் இவர்கள் அடைந்துவிடவில்லை. பின்னர் அவர்கள் என்னுடைய தூதர்களை (நிராகரித்து)ப் பொய்ப்படுத்தினார்கள், ஆகவே, (என்னை மறுத்ததன் காரணமாக தண்டனையைக் கொண்டும், வேதனையைக் கொண்டும் பிடித்த என்னுடைய) மறுப்பு எவ்வாறிருந்தது?

Those who came before them also rejected [the truth], while these [Makkans] have not been given even one-tenth of what We had given those [earlier nations], yet they rejected My messengers; how severe was My response!

Qul innama aAAithukum biwahidatin an taqoomoo lillahi mathna wafurada thumma tatafakkaroo ma bisahibikum min jinnatin in huwa illa natheerun lakum bayna yaday AAathabin shadeedin

Say (to them O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "I exhort you to one (thing) only, that you stand up for Allâh's sake in pairs and singly, and reflect (within yourselves the life history of the Prophet ), there is no madness in your companion (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]). He is only a warner to you in face of a severe torment."

Say, "I only advise you of one [thing] - that you stand for Allah, [seeking truth] in pairs and individually, and then give thought." There is not in your companion any madness. He is only a warner to you before a severe punishment.

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "நான் உங்களுக்கு உபதேசிப்ப தெல்லாம் ஒரே ஒரு விஷயம்தான். நீங்கள் ஒவ்வொருவராகவோ, இரண்டிரண்டு பேர்களாகவோ அல்லாஹ்வுக்காகச் சிறிது பொறுத்திருந்து, பின்னர் (உங்களுக்குள்) ஆலோசித்துப் பாருங்கள். உங்களுடைய சிநேகிதராகிய எனக்கு எத்தகைய பைத்தியமும் இல்லை. (நான் உங்களுக்குக்) கடினமான வேதனை வருவதற்கு முன்னர் (அதனைப் பற்றி) அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்கிறவ னேயன்றி வேறில்லை.

“நான் உங்களுக்கு உபதேசிப்பது ஒரே ஒரு விஷயத்தைப் பற்றித்தான்; நீங்கள் இரண்டிரண்டு பேர்களாகவோ, தனித்தனியாகவோ அல்லாஹ்வுக்காக எழுந்தமர்ந்து பின்னர் சிந்தித்துப் பாருங்கள்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்; உங்கள் நண்பருக்கு பைத்தியம் எதுவுமில்லை; உங்களுக்குக் கடினமான வேதனை வருவதற்கு முன்னர் அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவரல்லாமல் அவர் வேறில்லை.”

“நான் உங்களுக்கு உபதேசிப்பதெல்லாம் ஒரே ஒரு விஷயத்தைப் பற்றிதான், நீங்கள் இரண்டிரண்டு பேர்களாகவோ, தனித்தனியாகவோ, அல்லாஹ்வுக்காகச் சிறிது எழுந்து (நின்று), பின்னர் (உங்களுக்குள்) சிந்தித்துப்பாருங்கள்” என்று (நபியே! நீர்) கூறுவீராக! “உங்களுடைய சிநேகிதர் (ஆகிய என)க்கு எத்தகைய பைத்தியமுமில்லை, கடினமான வேதனை வருவதற்கு முன்னர் அவர் உங்களுக்கு அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்கிறவரே தவிர வேறில்லை” (என்பதை தெளிவாக உணர்வீர்கள்).

Say [O Prophet], “I only advise you to do one thing: stand up for Allah, in pairs and individually, then reflect. There is no madness in your companion; he is but a warner to you ahead of a severe punishment.”

Qul ma saaltukum min ajrin fahuwa lakum in ajriya illa AAala Allahi wahuwa AAala kulli shayin shaheedun

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "Whatever wage I might have asked of you is yours. My wage is from Allâh only, and He is a Witness over all things."

Say, "Whatever payment I might have asked of you - it is yours. My payment is only from Allah, and He is, over all things, Witness."

(நபியே! மேலும்) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "நான் உங்களிடத்தில் யாதொரு கூலியைக் கேட்டிருந்தால் அது உங்களுக்கே சொந்தம் ஆகட்டும். என்னுடைய கூலி அல்லாஹ்விடமேயன்றி (உங்களிடம்) இல்லை. அவன் அனைத்தையும் அறியக் கூடியவனாக இருக்கின்றான்.

கூறுவீராக: “நான் உங்களிடமிருந்து யாதொரு கூலியையும் கேட்கவில்லை; அது உங்களுக்கே இருக்கட்டும்; என்னுடைய கூலி அல்லாஹ்விடமேயன்றி (உங்களிடம்) இல்லை -அவன் எல்லாப் பொருட்கள் மீதும் சாட்சியாக இருக்கின்றான்.“

(நபியே! மேலும்) நீர் கூறுவீராக: “நான் உங்களிடம் எவ்விதக் கூலியையும் கேட்கவில்லை, அவ்வாறாயின் அது உங்களுக்கே உரியது, என்னுடைய கூலி அல்லாஹ்விடமேயன்றி (உங்களிடம்) இல்லை_ அவனோ ஒவ்வொரு பொருளின் மீதும் சாட்சியாக இருக்கிறான்.”

Say, “If I had ever asked you for a reward, it is yours. My reward is only with Allah, and He is Witness over all things.”

Qul inna rabbee yaqthifu bialhaqqi AAallamu alghuyoobi

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "Verily, my Lord sends down (Revelation and makes apparent) the truth (i.e. this Revelation that had come to me), the All-Knower of the Ghaib (Unseen).

Say, "Indeed, my Lord projects the truth. Knower of the unseen."

(மேலும்) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: நிச்சயமாக எனது இறைவன் (பொய்யை அழிப்பதற்காக) மெய்யைத் தெளிவாக்குகின்றான். மறைவானவை அனைத்தையும் அவன் நன்கறிந்தவன்.

கூறுவீராக: “என்னுடைய இறைவன் நிச்சயமாக(ப் பொய்மையை அழித்து) சத்தியத்தை மேலேற்றுகிறான்; மறைவானவற்றையெல்லாம் அவன் நன்கறிந்தவன்.”

(மேலும்) நீர் கூறுவீராக, “நிச்சயமாக எனது இரட்சகன் உண்மையைப் போடுகின்றான், (அது பொய்யை அழித்து மேலோங்கி விடுகிறது) மறைவானவற்றை (அவன்) மிக அறிந்தவன்.”

Say, “My Lord hurls the Truth [against falsehood], and He is All-Knower of the unseen.”

Qul jaa alhaqqu wama yubdio albatilu wama yuAAeedu

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "Al-Haqq (the truth, i.e. the Qur'ân and Allâh's Revelation) has come, and Al-Bâtil [falsehood – Iblîs (Satan)] can neither create anything nor resurrect (anything)."

Say, "The truth has come, and falsehood can neither begin [anything] nor repeat [it]."

(அன்றி) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "உண்மை வந்துவிட்டது. பொய் புதிதாக ஒன்றையும் (இதுவரையில்) செய்துவிடவில்லை. இனியும் செய்யப்போவதில்லை."

கூறுவீராக; “சத்தியம் வந்து விட்டது - அன்றியும் பொய் எதையும் புதிதாகச் செய்வதுமில்லை; இனிச்செய்யப் போவதுமில்லை.”

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக” உண்மை (மார்க்கம்) வந்துவிட்டது, பொய் புதிதாக ஒன்றையும் (இதுவரையில்) செய்யவில்லை, இனியும் செய்யப்போவதுமில்லை.”

Say, “The Truth has come, and falsehood can neither initiate nor restore anything.”

Qul in dalaltu fainnama adillu AAala nafsee waini ihtadaytu fabima yoohee ilayya rabbee innahu sameeAAun qareebun

Say: "If (even) I go astray, I shall stray only to my own loss. But if I remain guided, it is because of the Revelation of my Lord to me. Truly, He is All-Hearer, Ever Near (to all things)."

Say, "If I should err, I would only err against myself. But if I am guided, it is by what my Lord reveals to me. Indeed, He is Hearing and near."

(மேலும்) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "நான் வழி தவறியிருந்தால் அது எனக்கே நஷ்டமாகும். நான் நேரான வழியை அடைந்து இருந்தால் அது என் இறைவன் எனக்கு வஹ்யி மூலமாக அறிவித் ததன் காரணமாகவேயாகும். நிச்சயமாக அவன் (அனைத்தையும்) செவியுறுபவனாகவும் (அனைத்திற்கும்) சமீபமானவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

கூறுவீராக: “நான் வழிகெடுவேனாயின்; வழிகேடு எனக்கே நஷ்டமாகும்; நான் நேர்வழியில் செல்வேனாயின் (அது) என்னுடைய இறைவன் எனக்கு “வஹீ” மூலமாக அறிவித்ததைக் கொண்டேயாகும்; நிச்சயமாக அவன் (மிகச்) செவியேற்பவன். (மிக) நெருங்கியிருப்பவன்.”

(மேலும்) நீர் கூறுவீராக: “நான் (உண்மையான வழியை விட்டு) வழி தவறிவிடுவேனாயின் அப்போது நான் வழி தவறி விடுவதெல்லாம் என் மீதே (பாவமாகும்) ஆகும். நான் நேர் வழியை அடைந்திருந்தால், (அது) என் இரட்சகன் எனக்கு வஹீ மூலமாக அறிவித்ததைக் கொண்டேயாகும். நிச்சயமாக அவன், (யாவற்றையும்) செவியேற்பவன், (யாவற்றிற்கும்) நெருக்கமானவன்.

Say, “If I go astray, the detriment of my straying is only upon myself; but if I am guided, it is because of what my Lord reveals to me. He is indeed All-Hearing, Ever Near.”

Walaw tara ith faziAAoo fala fawta waokhithoo min makanin qareebin

And if you could but see, when they will be terrified with no escape (for them), and they will be seized from a near place.

And if you could see when they are terrified but there is no escape, and they will be seized from a place nearby.

(மறுமையில்) இவர்கள் திடுக்கிட்டு(த் தப்பி) ஓட முயற்சித்த போதிலும் ஒருவருமே தப்பிவிட மாட்டார்கள். மிக்க சமீபத்திலேயே பிடிபட்டு விடுவார்கள் என்பதை நீங்கள் காண்பீராயின் (எவ்வாறிருக்கும்!)

இன்னும் (காஃபிர்கள் மறுமையில்) பயத்தால் நடுங்குவதை நீர் காண்பீராயின்: அவர்களுக்குத் தப்பியோட வழியுமிராது; இன்னும் சமீபமான இடத்திலிருந்தே அவர்கள் பிடிபடுவார்கள்.

(இன்னும் மறுமையில் காஃபிர்களான) அவர்கள், திடுக்கமுற்றிருக்கும் பொழுது நீர் காண்பீராயின், அப்பொழுது (அவர்களால் எங்கும்) தப்பிச் செல்ல முடியாது. மிகச் சமீபமான இடத்திலிருந்து அவர்கள் பிடிக்கப் பட்டும் விடுவார்கள்.

If only you could see when they are stricken with terror, but there will be no escape, and they will be seized from a nearby place.

Waqaloo amanna bihi waanna lahumu alttanawushu min makanin baAAeedin

And they will say (in the Hereafter): "We do believe (now);" but how could they receive (Faith and the acceptance of their repentance by Allâh) from a place so far off (i.e. to return to the worldly life again).

And they will [then] say, "We believe in it!" But how for them will be the taking [of faith] from a place far away?

(அச்சமயம்) இவர்கள் (திடுக்கிட்டு நம்பிக்கை கொண்டோம்) நம்பிக்கை கொண்டோம் என்று கதறுவார்கள். (சத்தியத்திலிருந்து) இவ்வளவு தூரம் சென்றுவிட்ட இவர்கள் (உண்மையான நம்பிக்கையை) எவ்வாறு அடைந்து விடுவார்கள்?

மேலும் அவர்கள் கூறுவார்கள்: “நாங்கள் (இப்போது சத்தியத்தின் மீது) ஈமான் கொள்கிறோம்” என்று; ஆனால் (அமல் செய்யவேண்டிய இடத்தை விட்டும்) வெகு தூரத்திலிருந்து கொண்டு அவர்கள் எவ்வாறு (ஈமானை எளிதில்) அடைய முடியும்?

மேலும், (அச்சமயம்) அவர்கள் (திடுக்கிட்டு) “நாங்கள் அ(வ்வேதத்)தை விசுவாசஙகொண்டோம்” என்று கூறுவார்கள், (அவனிடமிருந்து செயல்களை அங்கீகரிக்கப்படும் இடத்தை விட்டு) மேலும், வெகு தூரமான இடத்திலிருந்து கொண்டு (உண்மை விசுவாசத்தைப்) பெறுதல் எவ்வாறு அவர்களுக்கு முடியும்?

They will say, “Now we believe in it,” but how could they attain faith from such a distant place,

Waqad kafaroo bihi min qablu wayaqthifoona bialghaybi min makanin baAAeedin

Indeed they did disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allâh, Islâm, the Qur'ân and Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) before (in this world), and they (used to) conjecture about the Unseen [i.e. the Hereafter, Hell, Paradise, Resurrection and the Promise of Allâh, (by saying) all that is untrue], from a far place.

And they had already disbelieved in it before and would assault the unseen from a place far away.

இதற்கு முன்னரோ, இவர்கள் அதனை நிராகரித்துக் கொண்டும், இவ்வளவு தூரத்தில் அவர்களுக்கு மறைத்திருந்ததைப் (பொய் என்று) பிதற்றிக்கொண்டும் இருந்தனர்.

ஆனால், இதற்கு முன்னர் அவர்கள் சத்தியத்தை நிராகரித்துக் கொண்டும், மறைவாய் உள்ளவைப்பற்றி வெகு தூரத்திலிருந்தவாறு (வெற்று யூகங்களை) எறிந்து கொண்டுமிருந்தார்கள்.

(இதற்கு) முன்னர், அதைத்திட்டமாக அவர்கள் நிராகரித்தும்விட்டார்கள், மேலும் வெகு தூரமான இடத்திலிருந்து மறைவானதைப் பற்றி (வீண் எண்ணத்தைக் கொண்டே) எறிந்து (_சொல்லிக்) கொண்டும் இருந்தார்கள்.

while they disbelieved in it before, making far-fetched conjectures about the unseen?

Waheela baynahum wabayna ma yashtahoona kama fuAAila biashyaAAihim min qablu innahum kanoo fee shakkin mureebin

And a barrier will be set between them and that which they desire [i.e. At-Taubah (turning to Allâh in repentance) and the accepting of Faith], as was done in the past with the people of their kind. Verily, they have been in grave doubt.

And prevention will be placed between them and what they desire, as was done with their kind before. Indeed, they were in disquieting denial.

அவர்களுக்கும் அவர்கள் விரும்பியவைகளுக்கும் இடையில் தடை ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டு விடும். அவ்வாறே இவர்களுக்கு முன்னிருந்த இவர்கள் இனத்தாருக்குச் செய்யப்பட்டது. ஏனென்றால், நிச்சயமாக அவர்களும் பெரும் சந்தேகத்தில் ஆழ்ந்தே கிடந்தனர்.

மேலும், அவர்களுடைய கூட்டத்தாருக்கு முன்னர் செய்யப்பட்டது போல் அவர்களுக்கும் அவர்கள் இச்சித்து வந்தவற்றுக்கும் இடையே திரை போடப்படும்; நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் ஆழ்ந்த சந்தேகத்திலேயே இருந்தார்கள்.

இதற்கு முன்பு இவர்களைப்போன்ற (நிராகரித்த)வர்களுக்கு செய்யப்பட்டது போல் இவர்களுக்கிடையிலும், இவர்கள் விருப்பம் கொண்டிருந்தவைகளுக்கிடையிலும் திரைபோடப்பட்டுவிட்டது, (ஏனென்றால்) நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் அவநம்பிக்கை ஏற்படுத்தக்கூடிய சந்தேகத்திலேயே இருந்தார்கள்.

A barrier will be placed between them and what they desire, as was done with the likes of them before, for they were indeed in a disquieting doubt.
