Alif-Lâm-Mîm.[These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'ân, and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings.]

Alif, Lam, Meem.

அலிஃப்; லாம்; மீம்.

அலிஃப், லாம், மீம்.

அலிஃப் லாம் மீம்.

Alif Lām Mīm.

Tilka ayatu alkitabi alhakeemi

These are Verses of the Wise Book (the Qur'ân).

These are verses of the wise Book,

இவை ஞானம் நிறைந்த இவ்வேதத்தின் (சில) வசனங்களாகும்.

இவை ஞானம் நிறைந்த வேதத்தின் வசனங்களாகும்.

இவை தீர்க்கமான அறிவு நிறைந்த (இவ்)வேதத்தின் வசனங்களாகும்.

These are the verses of the Book of wisdom,

Hudan warahmatan lilmuhsineena

A guide and a mercy for the Muhsinûn (good-doers).

As guidance and mercy for the doers of good

(இது) நன்மை செய்பவர்களுக்கு ஒரு நேர்வழிகாட்டியாகவும், ஓர் அருளாகவும் இருக்கின்றது.

(இது) நன்மை செய்வோருக்கு நேர் வழி காட்டியாகவும் ரஹ்மத்தாகவும் இருக்கிறது.

(இது) நன்மை செய்வோருக்கு நேர் வழிகாட்டியாகவும், அருளாகவும் இருக்கின்றது.

a guidance and mercy for those who do good,

Allatheena yuqeemoona alssalata wayutoona alzzakata wahum bialakhirati hum yooqinoona

Those who perform As-Salât (the prayers) and give Zakât (obligatory charity) and they have faith in the Hereafter with certainty.

Who establish prayer and give zakah, and they, of the Hereafter, are certain [in faith].

அவர்கள் (எத்தகையவர்களென்றால்) தொழுகையைக் கடைப்பிடித்தொழுகுவார்கள். ஜகாத்தும் கொடுத்து வருவார்கள். இறுதி நாளையும் அவர்கள் உறுதியாக நம்புவார்கள்.

அவர்கள் (எத்தகையோரென்றால்) தொழுகையை நிலை நாட்டுவார்கள்; ஜகாத்தும் கொடுத்து வருவார்கள்; இன்னும் அவர்கள் ஆகிரத்தை (மறுமையை) உறுதியாக நம்புவார்கள்.

அவர்கள் எத்தகையோரென்றால், தொழுகையை முறையாக நிறைவேற்றுவார்கள், ஜகாத்தையும் கொடுப்பார்கள், இன்னும், அவர்கள்_மறுமையைக் கொண்டு அவர்களே_உறுதி(யாக நம்பிக்கைக்) கொள்வார்கள்.

those who establish prayer and give zakah, and firmly believe in the Hereafter.

Olaika AAala hudan min rabbihim waolaika humu almuflihoona

Such are on guidance from their Lord, and such are the successful.

Those are on [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful.

இத்தகையவர்கள்தாம் தங்கள் இறைவனின் நேரான வழியில் இருப்பவர்கள். இவர்கள்தாம் வெற்றி அடைவார்கள்.

இவர்கள் தாம் தம் இறைவனின் நேர் வழியில் இருப்பவர்கள்; மேலும் இவர்களே வெற்றியாளர்கள்.

இத்தகையோர்தாம், தங்கள் இரட்சகனின் நேர் வழியில் இருப்பவர்கள், மேலும், இத்தகையோர்தாம் வெற்றிபெறுகிறவர்கள்.

It is they who are upon guidance from their Lord, and it is they who are successful.

Wamina alnnasi man yashtaree lahwa alhadeethi liyudilla AAan sabeeli Allahi bighayri AAilmin wayattakhithaha huzuwan olaika lahum AAathabun muheenun

And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing) to mislead (men) from the path of Allâh without knowledge, and takes it (the path of Allâh, or the Verses of the Qur'ân) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell-fire).

And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead [others] from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.

(இவர்களைத் தவிர) மனிதரில் பலர் இருக்கின்றனர். அவர்கள் (பொய்யான கட்டுக்கதைகள் முதலிய) வீணான விஷயங்களை விலைக்கு வாங்கி (அவற்றை மக்களுக்கு ஓதிக் காண்பித்து) அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வழியில் இருந்து ஞானமின்றி மக்களை வழிகெடுத்து அதனைப் பரிகாசமாகவும் எடுத்துக் கொள்கின்றனர். இத்தகையவர்களுக்கு இழிவு தரும் வேதனை நிச்சயமாக உண்டு.

(இவர்கள் தவிர) மனிதர்களில் சிலர் இருக்கின்றார்கள் - அவர்கள் அறிவில்லாமல் வீணான பேச்சுக்களை விலைக்கு வாங்கி, (அவற்றால் மக்களை) அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையிலிருந்து வழி கெடுக்கவும், அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையைப் பரிகாசமாக்கிக் கொள்ளவும் (முயல்கிறார்கள்) இத்தகையோருக்கு இழிவுதரும் வேதனையுண்டு.

(இவர்களைத் தவிர) மனிதரில்_அறிவின்றி அல்லாஹ்வின் வழியிலிருந்து (மனிதர்களை) வழிகெடுப்பதற்காக வீணான செய்திகளை விலைக்கு வாங்குகின்றவர்களும் இருக்கின்றனர், (அல்லாஹ்வின் வசனங்களாகிய) அதனைப் பரிகாசமாகவும் எடுத்துக்கொள்கின்றனர். இத்தகையோர் _ அவர்களுக்கு இழிவு தரும் வேதனை உண்டு.

There are some among people who engage in a discourse of amusements in order to lead people away from the way of Allah without knowledge, and to make mockery of it. For such there will be a humiliating punishment.

Waitha tutla AAalayhi ayatuna walla mustakbiran kaan lam yasmaAAha kaanna fee othunayhi waqran fabashshirhu biAAathabin aleemin

And when Our Verses (of the Qur'ân) are recited to such a one, he turns away in pride, as if he heard them not – as if there were deafness in his ear. So announce to him a painful torment.

And when our verses are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he had not heard them, as if there was in his ears deafness. So give him tidings of a painful punishment.

இவர்களில் எவருக்கும் நம்முடைய வசனங்கள் ஓதிக் காண்பிக்கப்பட்டால் அதனை அவன் கேட்காதவனைப் போலும், தன்னுடைய இரு காதுகளிலும் செவிடு உள்ளவனைப் போலும் கர்வம்கொண்டு விலகிவிடுகிறான். ஆகவே, (நபியே!) அவனுக்குத் துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையைக் கொண்டு நீங்கள் நற்செய்தி கூறுங்கள்

அ(த்தகைய)வனுக்கு நம்முடைய வசனங்கள் ஓதிக் காண்பிக்கப்பட்டால், அவன் அவற்றைக் கேட்காதவனைப் போல் - அவன் இரு காதுகளிலும் செவிட்டுத் தனம் இருப்பது போல், பெருமை கொண்டவனாகத் திரும்பி விடுகிறான்; ஆகவே அவனுக்கு நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனையுண்டென்று (நபியே!) நீர் நற் செய்தி கூறுவீராக.

மேலும், அ(த்தகைய)வனின் மீது நம்முடைய வசனங்கள் ஓதிக்காண்பிக்கப்பட்டால், அவற்றை அவன் கேட்காதவனைப் போல், தன்னுடைய இரு காதுகளிலும் தடுப்பு உள்ளவனைப் போல் கர்வங்கொண்டவனாக(ப்புறக்கணித்து)த் திரும்பிவிடுகிறான். ஆகவே, அவனுக்கு துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையைக் கொண்டு (நபியே!) நீர் நன்மாராயங் கூறுவீராக!

When Our verses are recited to him, he turns away in arrogance, as if he did not hear them, as if there were deafness in his ears. So give him tidings of a painful punishment.

Inna allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum jannatu alnnaAAeemi

Verily, those who believe (in Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, for them are Gardens of Delight (Paradise).

Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them are the Gardens of Pleasure.

ஆயினும், (இவர்களில்) எவர்கள் (நம்முடைய வசனங்களுக்குச் செவி சாய்த்து) நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு நற் செயல்களைச் செய்கின்றார்களோ அவர்களுக்கு மிக்க இன்பம் தரும் சுவனபதிகள் உள்ளன.

நிச்சயமாக, ஈமான் கொண்டு ஸாலிஹான (நல்ல) அமல்கள் செய்பவர்களுக்குப் பாக்கியமுள்ள சுவனபதிகள் உண்டு.

நிச்சயமாக விசுவாசங்கொண்டு, நற்கருமங்களையும் செய்கின்றார்களே அத்தகையோர்_அவர்களுக்கு அருட்கொடையுடைய சுவனபதிகளுண்டு.

But those who believe and do righteous deeds, they will have Gardens of Bliss,

Khalideena feeha waAAda Allahi haqqan wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu

To abide therein. It is a Promise of Allâh in truth. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

Wherein they abide eternally; [it is] the promise of Allah [which is] truth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

அதில் அவர்கள் என்றென்றும் தங்கிவிடுவார்கள். அல்லாஹ்வுடைய (இவ்)வாக்குறுதி உண்மையானதே! அவன் (அனைவரையும்) மிகைத்தவனும் ஞானமுடையவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

அவர்கள் அங்கு என்றென்றும் தங்குவார்கள் - அல்லாஹ்வின் வாக்குறுதி உண்மையானது; அவன் (யாவற்றையும்) மிகைத்தவன்; ஞானம் மிக்கோன்.

அதில் அவர்கள் நிரந்தரமாக (த்தங்கி) இருப்பவர்கள், அல்லாஹ்வுடைய (இவ்) வாக்குறுதி உண்மையானதே! அவனோ (யாவரையும்) மிகைத்தோன், தீர்க்கமான அறிவுடையோன்.

abiding therein forever; this is a true promise from Allah, and He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

Khalaqa alssamawati bighayri AAamadin tarawnaha waalqa fee alardi rawasiya an tameeda bikum wabaththa feeha min kulli dabbatin waanzalna mina alssamai maan faanbatna feeha min kulli zawjin kareemin

He has created the heavens without any pillars that you see, and has set on the earth firm mountains lest it should shake with you. And He has scattered therein moving (living) creatures of all kinds. And We send down water (rain) from the sky, and We cause (plants) of every goodly kind to grow therein.

He created the heavens without pillars that you see and has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with you, and dispersed therein from every creature. And We sent down rain from the sky and made grow therein [plants] of every noble kind.

அவனே வானங்களைத் தூண்கள் இன்றியே படைத்திருக்கின்றான். அதனை நீங்களும் பார்க்கின்றீர்கள். பூமி உங்களைக் கவிழ்த்து விடாதிருப்பதற்காக (பளுவான) மலைகளை (அதில்) நிறுத்திவைத்து விதவிதமான உயிரினங்களையும் அதில் பரப்பினான். (மனிதர்களே! அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) நாமே மேகத்தில் இருந்து மழையை பொழியச்செய்து அதிலிருந்தே நேர்த்தியான ஒவ்வொரு வகைப் புற்பூண்டுகளையும் ஜோடி ஜோடியாக முளைப்பிக்கச் செய்கிறோம்.

அவன் வானங்களைத் தூண்களின்றியே படைத்துள்ளான். அதனை நீங்களும் பார்க்கிறீர்கள். உங்களுடன் பூமி அசையாதிருப்பதற்காக அவன் அதன் மேல் மலைகளை உறுதியாக நிறுத்தினான்; மேலும் அதன் மீது எல்லா விதமான பிராணிகளையும் அவன் பரவவிட்டிருக்கின்றான்; இன்னும் நாமே வானத்திலிருந்து மழையை பொழியச் செய்து அதில் சங்கையான, வகை வகையான (மரம், செடி, கொடி ஆகியவற்றை) ஜோடி ஜோடியாக முளைப்பித்திருக்கின்றோம்.

அவன் வானங்களைத் தூண்களின்றியே படைத்திருக்கிறான், அதனை நீங்கள் பார்க்கின்றீர்கள், பூமியில்_அது உங்களைக் கொண்டு அசைந்து விடாதிருக்கும் பொருட்டு, அசையாத மலைகளையும் அதில் ஆக்கிவைத்தான், இன்னும், ஒவ்வொரு (விதமான) பிராணியையும் அதில் அவன் பரவச்செய்தான், (மனிதர்களே! அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) நாமே வானத்திலிருந்து நீரை இறக்கிவைத்தோம், பின்னர், (புற்பூண்டுகளில்) அழகான ஒவ்வொரு வகையிலிருந்து அதில் நாம் முளைக்கச் செய்தோம்.

He created the heavens without pillars that you can see; and He placed firm mountains on the earth so it does not shake with you; and He spread therein all kinds of creatures. We sent down rain from the sky and caused to grow therein all kinds of fine plants.

Hatha khalqu Allahi faaroonee matha khalaqa allatheena min doonihi bali alththalimoona fee dalalin mubeenin

This is the creation of Allâh. So, show Me that which those (whom you worship) besides Him have created. Nay, the Zâlimûn (polytheists, wrong doers and those who do not believe in the Oneness of Allâh) are in plain error.

This is the creation of Allah. So show Me what those other than Him have created. Rather, the wrongdoers are in clear error.

(ஆகவே, நபியே! நீங்கள் அவர்களை நோக்கிக் கூறுங்கள்:) "இவை அனைத்தும் அல்லாஹ் படைத்தவைகளாகும். அவனை யன்றி (நீங்கள் தெய்வங்கள் என்று கூறும்) அவைகள் எதனை படைத்திருக்கின்றன என்பதை நீங்கள் எனக்குக் காண்பியுங்கள். அவ்வாறு (ஒன்றும்) இல்லை. (அல்லாஹ்வை அன்றி மற்றவர்களை வணங்கும்) இந்த அநியாயக்காரர்கள் பகிரங்கமான வழிகேட்டில் தான் இருக்கின்றனர்.

“இவை(யாவும்) அல்லாஹ்வின் படைப்பாகும் - அவனன்றி உள்ளவர்கள் எதைப் படைத்திருக்கின்றனர் என்பதை எனக்குக் காண்பியுங்கள்” (என்று அவர்களிடம் நபியே! நீர் கூறும்.) அவ்வாறல்ல; அநியாயக்காரர்கள் பகிரங்கமான வழிகேட்டில்தான் இருக்கின்றனர்.  

(ஆகவே நபியே! நீர் அவர்களிடம் கூறுவீராக:) “இவை (யாவும்) அல்லாஹ்வின் படைப்பாகும், ஆகவே அவனையன்றி (நீங்கள் வணக்கத்திற்குரியவர்களெனக் கூறுகின்ற) அவர்கள் எதனைப் படைத்திருகின்றனர் என்பதை நீங்கள் எனக்குக் காண்பியுங்கள், (அவ்வாறு ஒன்றும்) இல்லை (அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி மற்றவைகளை வணங்கும் இந்த) அநியாயக்காரர்கள் பகிரங்கமான வழிகேட்டில் இருக்கின்றனர்.

This is Allah’s creation. So show Me what others beside Him have created. In fact, the wrongdoers are clearly misguided.

Walaqad atayna luqmana alhikmata ani oshkur lillahi waman yashkur fainnama yashkuru linafsihi waman kafara fainna Allaha ghaniyyun hameedun

And indeed We bestowed upon Luqmân Al-Hikmah (wisdom and religious understanding saying:) "Give thanks to Allâh." And whoever gives thanks, he gives thanks for (the good of) his own self. And whoever is unthankful, then verily, Allâh is All-Rich (Free of all needs), Worthy of all praise.

And We had certainly given Luqman wisdom [and said], "Be grateful to Allah." And whoever is grateful is grateful for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever denies [His favor] - then indeed, Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy.

லுக்மானுக்கு நாம் ஞானத்தைக் கொடுத்து அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தும்படி கூறினோம். ஏனென்றால், எவர் நன்றி செலுத்துகிறாரோ அவர் தன் நன்மைக்காகவே நன்றி செலுத்துகிறார். எவன் (அதனை) நிராகரிக்கிறானோ (அவன் தனக்கு தீங்கு தேடிக் கொள்கிறான். அதனால் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு ஒன்றும் நஷ்டமில்லை. ஏனென்றால்) நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் தேவையற்றவனும் புகழுடைய வனாகவும் இருக்கிறான்.

இன்னும், நாம் லுஃக்மானுக்கு நிச்சயமாக ஞானத்தைக் கொடுத்தோம். “அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு நீர் நன்றி செலுத்தும்; ஏனென்றால் எவன் நன்றி செலுத்துகிறானோ அவன் தன(து நன்மை)க்காவே நன்றி செலுத்துகிறான்; இன்னும் எவன் நிராகரிக்கிறானோ (அவன் தன்னையே நட்டப்படுத்திக் கொள்கிறான்) - நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (எவரிடத்திருந்தும்) தேவையில்லாதவன்; புகழப்படுபவன்”.

நிச்சயமாக, நாம் லுக்மானுக்கு (ச்சிறந்த) அறிவையும் கொடுத்தோம், நீர் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துவீராக! (என்று கூறினோம்) இன்னும், எவர் நன்றி செலுத்துகின்றாரோ அவர் நன்றி செலுத்துவதெல்லாம் தம(துநன்மை)க்குத்தான், மேலும், எவர் (அவனை) நிராகரிக்கின்றாரோ_(அவர் தனக்கே தீங்கைத் தேடிகொள்கிறார். ஏனென்றால்,) நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் தேவையற்றவன், புகழப்படுபவன் (என்று கூறினோம்).

Indeed, We endowed Luqmān with wisdom, [saying], “Be grateful to Allah.” Whoever is grateful, it is only for his own good; and whoever is ungrateful, then Allah is Self-Sufficient, Praiseworthy.

Waith qala luqmanu liibnihi wahuwa yaAAithuhu ya bunayya la tushrik biAllahi inna alshshirka lathulmun AAatheemun

And (remember) when Luqmân said to his son when he was advising him: "O my son! Join not in worship others with Allâh. Verily, joining others in worship with Allâh is a great Zûlm (wrong) indeed.

And [mention, O Muhammad], when Luqman said to his son while he was instructing him, "O my son, do not associate [anything] with Allah. Indeed, association [with him] is great injustice."

லுக்மான் தனது மகனுக்கு நல்லுபதேசம் செய்யக் கருதிய சமயத்தில் அவரை நோக்கி "என் அருமை மைந்தனே! நீ அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு (ஒன்றையுமே) இணையாக்காதே! ஏனென்றால், இணைவைப்பது நிச்சயமாக மிகப்பெரும் அநியாயமாகும்" என்று கூறினார்.

இன்னும் லுஃக்மான் தம் புதல்வருக்கு: “என் அருமை மகனே! நீ அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு இணை வைக்காதே; நிச்சயமாக இணை வைத்தல் மிகப் பெரும் அநியாயமாகும்,” என்று நல்லுபதேசம் செய்து கூறியதை (நினைவுபடுத்துவீராக).

மேலும், லுக்மான் தன் மைந்தனுக்கு_அவர் அவருக்கு உபதேசம் செய்தவராக_ என் அருமை மைந்தனே! நீ அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு இணைவைக்காதே! நிச்சயமாக, இணைவைத்தல் மிகப்பெரிய அநியாயமாகும் என்று கூறியதை_(நபியே! நீர் நினைவு கூர்வீராக!)

When Luqmān said to his son, while advising him, “O my dear son, do not associate partners with Allah. Indeed, associating partners with Allah is the worst wrongdoing.”

Wawassayna alinsana biwalidayhi hamalathu ommuhu wahnan AAala wahnin wafisaluhu fee AAamayni ani oshkur lee waliwalidayka ilayya almaseeru

And We have enjoined on man (to be dutiful and good) to his parents. His mother bore him in weakness and hardship upon weakness and hardship, and his weaning is in two years – give thanks to Me and to your parents. To Me is the final destination.

And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination.

"தனது தாய் தந்தைக்கு நன்றி செய்யும்படி மனிதனுக்கு நாம் நல்லுபதேசம் செய்தோம். அவனுடைய தாய் துன்பத்தின் மேல் துன்பத்தை அனுபவித்து(க் கர்ப்பத்தில்) அவனைச் சுமந்து கொண்டலைந்தாள். (பிறந்த) பிறகும் இரண்டு ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பின்னரே அவனுக்குப் பால் மறக்கடித்தாள். ஆகவே, நீ எனக்கும் நன்றி செலுத்து; உன்னுடைய தாய் தந்தைக்கும் நன்றி செலுத்து. முடிவில் நீ நம்மிடமே வந்து சேர வேண்டியதிருக்கின்றது.

நாம் மனிதனுக்கு தன் பெற்றோர் (இருவருக்கும் நலம் செய்ய வேண்டியது) பற்றி வஸிய்யத்துச் செய்(து போதித்)தோம்; அவனுடைய தாய் பலஹீனத்தின் மேல் பலஹீனம் கொண்டவளாக (கர்ப்பத்தில்) அவனை சுமந்தாள்; இன்னும் அவனுக்குப் பால் குடி மறத்த(லி)ல் இரண்டு வருடங்கள் ஆகின்றன; ஆகவே “நீ எனக்கும் உன் பெற்றோர்க்கும் நன்றி செலுத்துவாயாக; என்னிடமே உன்னுடைய மீளுதல் இருக்கிறது.”

நாம் மனிதனுக்கு தன் பெற்றோர் (இருவருக்கும் அன்பு கொண்டு அரவணைத்துக் கொள்வது) பற்றி நல்லுபதேசமும் செய்தோம், அவனுடைய தாய் பலவீனத்துக்கு மேல் பலவீனம் அடைந்தவளாக அவனைச் சுமந்தாள், இன்னும் (அவனுக்குப் பால்குடி மறக்கடித்து) அவன் பிரிவது இரண்டு வருடங்களிலாகும், (ஆகவே மனிதனே!) நீ எனக்கும், உன்னுடைய பெற்றோருக்கும் நன்றி செலுத்துவாயாக, (முடிவில்) என்னிடமே (உன்) மீளுதல் இருக்கிறது.”

We have enjoined upon man kindness to his parents. His mother bore him in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning took place within two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents. To Me is the final return.

Wain jahadaka AAala an tushrika bee ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun fala tutiAAhuma wasahibhuma fee alddunya maAAroofan waittabiAA sabeela man anaba ilayya thumma ilayya marjiAAukum faonabbiokum bima kuntum taAAmaloona

But if they (both) strive with you to make you join in worship with Me others that of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not; but behave with them in the world kindly, and follow the path of him who turns to Me in repentance and in obedience. Then to Me will be your return, and I shall tell you what you used to do.

But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.

எனினும், (இறைவன் என்று) நீ அறிந்துகொள்ளாத யாதொரு பொருளை எனக்கு இணை வைக்கும்படி அவர்கள் உன்னை நிர்ப்பந்தித்தால் (அவ் விஷயத்தில்) நீ அவர்களுக்கு வழிப்பட வேண்டாம். ஆயினும், இவ்வுலக விஷயத்தில் நீ அவர்களுக்கு (நீதமாக) உதவி செய்து (அன்பாக) நேசித்துவா. எவ்விஷயத்திலும் என்னையே நோக்கி நிற்பவர்களின் வழியை நீ பின்பற்றி நட. பின்னர், நீங்கள் அனைவரும் நம்மிடமே வரவேண்டிய திருக்கின்றது. நீங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவைகளைப் பற்றி அச்சமயம் நான் உங்களுக்கு அறிவுறுத்துவேன்" (என்று கூறினோம்).

ஆனால், நீ எது பற்றி அறிவு (ஆதாரம்) பெற்றவனாக இல்லையோ அதனை எனக்கு இணை வைக்குமாறு உன்னை அவ்விருவரும் வற்புறுத்தினால் அப்போது நீ அவ்விருவருக்கும் வழிபட வேண்டாம்; ஆனால் இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையில் அவ்விருவருடனும் அழகிய முறையில் உறவு வைத்துக் கொள்; (யாவற்றிலும்) என்னையே நோக்கி நிற்போரின் வழியையே நீ பின்பற்றுவாயாக - பின்னர் உங்கள் (அனைவருடைய) மீளுதலும் என்னிடமேயாகும்; நீங்கள் என்ன செய்து கொண்டிருந்தீர்கள் என்பதை (அப்போது) நான் உங்களுக்கு அறிவிப்பேன்.”

எது பற்றி உனக்கு அறிவு (ஆதாரம்) இல்லையோ, அதை எனக்கு நீ இணையாக்குமாறு உன்னை அவ்விருவரும் வற்புறுத்தினால் (அவ்விஷயத்தில்) நீ அவ்விருவருக்கும் கீழ்ப்படியவேண்டாம், ஆயினும், இவ்வுலகத்தில் நன்மையான காரியத்தில் நீ அவ்விருவருடனும் (அன்புடன் ஒத்து) உடனிருப்பாயாக, இன்னும், (வழிபாட்டில்) என்பால் திரும்பியவரின் வழியை சேர வேண்டியதிருக்கின்றது, அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவகளைப் பற்றி நான் உங்களுக்கு அறிவிப்பேன்.

But if they strive to make you associate partners with Me of what you have no knowledge, then do not obey them. Yet keep company with them in this world with kindness, and follow the way of those who turn to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me is your return, and I will inform you of what you used to do.

Ya bunayya innaha in taku mithqala habbatin min khardalin fatakun fee sakhratin aw fee alssamawati aw fee alardi yati biha Allahu inna Allaha lateefun khabeerun

"O my son! If it be (anything) equal to the weight of a grain of mustard seed, and though it be in a rock, or in the heavens or in the earth, Allâh will bring it forth. Verily, Allâh is Subtle (in bringing out that grain), Well-Acquainted (with its place).

[And Luqman said], "O my son, indeed if wrong should be the weight of a mustard seed and should be within a rock or [anywhere] in the heavens or in the earth, Allah will bring it forth. Indeed, Allah is Subtle and Acquainted.

(பின்னும் லுக்மான் தனது மகனை நோக்கி) "என் அருமை மகனே! (நன்மையோ தீமையோ) அது ஒரு கடுகின் விதை அளவில் இருந்தாலும் சரி, அது (கரும்) பாறைகளுக்குள்ளோ அல்லது வானத்திலோ, பூமியின் ஆழத்திலோ (மறைந்து) இருந்தபோதிலும் (உங்களிடம் கணக்குக் கேட்கும்போது) நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் அதையும் கொண்டு வந்து விடுவான். ஏனென்றால், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் வெகு நுட்பமான அறிவுடையவனும் (அனைத்தையும்) நன்கு தெரிந்து வைத்திருப்பவனாகவும் இருக்கிறான்.

(லுஃக்மான் தம் புதல்வரிடம்) என் அருமை மகனே! (நன்மையோ, தீமையோ) அது ஒரு கடுகின் வித்து அளவே எடையுள்ளது ஆயினும்; அது கற்பாறைக்குள் இருந்தாலும் அல்லது வானங்களில் இருந்தாலும், அல்லது பூமிக்குள்ளே இருந்தாலும் அல்லாஹ் அதையும் (வெளியே) கொண்டு வருவான்; நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நுண்ணறிவு மிக்கவன்; (ஒவ்வொன்றின் அந்தரங்கத்தையும்) நன்கறிபவன்.

“என்னருமை மைந்தனே! நிச்சயமாக அது (நன்மையோ, தீமையோ) கடுகின் வித்தளவாக இருப்பினும் (சரி) அது ஒரு பாறைக்குள் அல்லது வானங்களில் அல்லது பூமியில் (மறைந்து) இருந்த போதிலும் (கேள்வி கணக்கின் போது) அல்லாஹ் அதனைக் கொண்டுவந்துவிடுவான், (ஏனென்றால்,) நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் வெகு நுட்பமான (அறிவுடைய)வன், நன்கு உணர்பவன்.

[Luqmān said], “O my dear son, even if a deed were the weight of a mustard seed – whether in a rock or in the heavens or in the earth – Allah will bring it forth. Indeed, Allah is Most Subtle, All-Aware.

Ya bunayya aqimi alssalata wamur bialmaAAroofi wainha AAani almunkari waisbir AAala ma asabaka inna thalika min AAazmi alomoori

"O my son! Aqim-is-Salât (perform prayers), enjoin (on people) Al-Ma'rûf (Islâmic Monotheism and all that is good), and forbid (people) from Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief in the Oneness of Allâh, polytheism of all kinds and all that is evil and bad), and bear with patience whatever befalls you. Verily, these are some of the important commandments (ordered by Allâh with no exemption).

O my son, establish prayer, enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and be patient over what befalls you. Indeed, [all] that is of the matters [requiring] determination.

என்னருமை மகனே! "தொழுகையைக் கடைப்பிடித்தொழுகு, நன்மையான காரியங்களைக் கொண்டு ஏவி, பாவமான காரியங்களில் இருந்து (மனிதர்களை) விலக்கி வா. உனக்கேற்படும் கஷ்டங்களைப் பொறுமையுடன் நீ சகித்துக்கொள். நிச்சயமாக இது எல்லா காரியங்களிலும் வீரமிக்கச் செயலாகும்.

“என் அருமை மகனே! நீ தொழுகையை நிலை நாட்டுவாயாக; நன்மையை ஏவி, தீமையை விட்டும் (மனிதர்களை) விலக்குவாயாக; உனக்கு ஏற்படும் கஷ்டங்களைப் பொறுத்துக் கொள்வாயாக; நிச்சயமாக இதுவே வீரமுள்ள செயல்களில் உள்ளதாகும்.

“என்னருமை மைந்தனே! நீ தொழுகையை நிறைவேற்றுவாயாக! நன்மையைக் கொண்டும் (பிறரை) ஏவுவாயாக! பாவமான கரியாங்களிளிருந்தும் (மனிதர்களை) விலக்குவாயாக! மேலும், உனக்கேற்படும் கஷ்டங்களை, நீ பொறுமையுடன் சகித்துகொள்வாயாக! நிச்சயமாக (அல்லாஹ் கட்டளையிட்ட) இது காரியங்களில் உறுதியானதில் உள்ளதாகும்.”

“O my dear son, establish prayer, enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, and be patient with whatever befalls you. This is a matter of firm resolve.

Wala tusaAAAAir khaddaka lilnnasi wala tamshi fee alardi marahan inna Allaha la yuhibbu kulla mukhtalin fakhoorin

"And turn not your face away from men with pride, nor walk in insolence through the earth. Verily, Allâh likes not any arrogant boaster.

And do not turn your cheek [in contempt] toward people and do not walk through the earth exultantly. Indeed, Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful.

(பெருமை கொண்டு) உன் முகத்தை மனிதர்களை விட்டுத் திருப்பிக் கொள்ளாதே! பூமியில் பெருமையடித்துக் கொண்டு நடக்காதே! நிச்சயமாக கர்வம்கொண்டு பெருமையடிக்கும் எவரையும் அல்லாஹ் நேசிப்பதில்லை.

“(பெருமையோடு) உன் முகத்தை மனிதர்களை விட்டும் திருப்பிக் கொள்ளாதே! பூமியில் பெருமையாகவும் நடக்காதே! அகப்பெருமைக்காரர், ஆணவங் கொண்டோர் எவரையும் நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நேசிக்க மாட்டான்.

அன்றியும், “(பெருமை கொண்டு) உன் முகத்தை மனிதர்களை விட்டும் திருப்பிகொள்ளாதே! மேலும், பூமியில் கர்வமாக நடக்காதே! நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ், தற்பெருமைக்காரர், கர்வங்கொண்டோர் ஒவ்வொருவரையும் நேசிக்கமாட்டான்.”

Do not turn your face away from people [in contempt], and do not walk on earth in arrogance. Indeed, Allah does not like anyone who is arrogant and boastful.

Waiqsid fee mashyika waoghdud min sawtika inna ankara alaswati lasawtu alhameeri

"And be moderate (or show no insolence) in your walking, and lower your voice. Verily, the harshest of all voices is the braying of the asses."

And be moderate in your pace and lower your voice; indeed, the most disagreeable of sounds is the voice of donkeys."

உன் நடையில் (பெருமையும் கர்வமுமின்றி) மத்திய தரத்தை விரும்பு. உன் சப்தத்தையும் தாழ்த்திக்கொள். ஏனென்றால், சப்தங்களிலெல்லாம் மிக்க வெறுக்கத்தக்கது கழுதையின் (உரத்த) சப்தமே!" (என்று கூறினார்கள்).

“உன் நடையில் (மிக வேகமோ, அதிக சாவதானமோ இல்லாமல்) நடுத்தரத்தை மேற்கொள்; உன் குரலையும் தாழ்த்திக் கொள்; குரல்களிலெல்லாம் வெறுக்கத்தக்கது நிச்சயமாக கழுதையின் குரலேயாகும்.  

மேலும், “உன் நடையில் மத்தியதரத்தை கடைப்பிடிப்பாயாக! உன் சப்தத்தையும் தாழ்த்திகொள்வாயாக! (ஏனென்றால்) நிச்சயமாக சப்தங்களிலெல்லாம் மிக வெறுக்கத்தக்கது, கழுதைகளின் சப்தமே” என்று கூறினார்).

Be moderate in your gait and lower your voice. Indeed, the most repugnant of voices is the voice of donkeys.”

Alam taraw anna Allaha sakhkhara lakum ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi waasbagha AAalaykum niAAamahu thahiratan wabatinatan wamina alnnasi man yujadilu fee Allahi bighayri AAilmin wala hudan wala kitabin muneerin

See you not (O men) that Allâh has subjected for you whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and has completed and perfected His Graces upon you, (both) apparent (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism, and the lawful pleasures of this world, including health, good looks) and hidden [i.e. one's faith in Allâh (of Islâmic Monotheism), knowledge, wisdom, guidance for doing righteous deeds, and also the pleasures and delights of the Hereafter in Paradise]? Yet of mankind is he who disputes about Allâh without knowledge or guidance or a Book giving light!

Do you not see that Allah has made subject to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth and amply bestowed upon you His favors, [both] apparent and unapparent? But of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening Book [from Him].

(மனிதர்களே!) வானங்களிலும் பூமியிலும் உள்ளவைகளை நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் உங்களுக்கு வசப்படுத்தித் தந்திருக்கின்றான் என்பதையும், அவன் தன் அருட்கொடைகளை மறைவாகவும் வெளிப்படையாகவும் உங்கள் மீது சொரிந்திருக்கின்றான் என்பதையும் நீங்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா? (இவ்வாறெல்லாமிருந்தும்) மனிதர்களில் பலர் யாதொரு கல்வியும், யாதொரு (தர்க்கரீதியான) ஆதாரமும், யாதொரு தெளிவான வேத நூலின் ஆதாரமுமின்றி அல்லாஹ்வைப் பற்றி (வீணாகத்) தர்க்கிக்கின்றனர்.

நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் வானங்களில் உள்ளவற்றையும், பூமியில் உள்ளவற்றையும், உங்களுக்கு வசப்படுத்தி இருக்கிறான் என்பதையும்; இன்னும் தன் அருட் கொடைகளை உங்கள் மீது புறத்திலும், அகத்திலும் நிரம்பச் செய்திருக்கிறான் என்பதையும் நீங்கள் அறியவில்லையா? ஆயினும், மக்களில் சிலர் இருக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் போதிய கல்வியறிவில்லாமலும்; நேர்வழி இல்லாமலும், ஒளிமிக்க வேதமில்லாமலும் அல்லாஹ்வைக் குறித்துத் தர்க்கம் செய்கின்றனர்.

(மனிதர்களே!) வானங்களில் உள்ளவற்றையும், பூமியில் உள்ளவற்றையும் நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் உங்களுக்கு வசப்படுத்தித் தந்திருக்கின்றான் என்பதையும், அவன் தன் அருட்கொடைகளை (அவற்றில்) வெளிப்படையானவற்றையும், மறைவானவற்றையும் உங்கள் மீது நிறைவாக்கியிருக்கின்றான் என்பதையும் நீங்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா? (ஆனால்) மனிதர்களில் சிலர் கல்வியறிவோ, நேர் வழியோ, ஒளிமிக்க வேத (ஆதார)மோ இன்றி, அல்லாஹ்வைப் பற்றி (வீணாக)த் தர்க்கிக்கின்றனர்.

Do you not see that Allah has made subservient to you all that is in the heavens and on earth, and has abundantly bestowed upon you His favors, both apparent and hidden? Yet there are some people who dispute concerning Allah without knowledge, or guidance, or an enlightening scripture.

Waitha qeela lahumu ittabiAAoo ma anzala Allahu qaloo bal nattabiAAu ma wajadna AAalayhi abaana awalaw kana alshshaytanu yadAAoohum ila AAathabi alssaAAeeri

And when it is said to them: "Follow that which Allâh has sent down," they say: "Nay, we shall follow that which we found our fathers (following)." (Would they do so) even if Shaitân (Satan) invites them to the torment of the Fire?

And when it is said to them, "Follow what Allah has revealed," they say, "Rather, we will follow that upon which we found our fathers." Even if Satan was inviting them to the punishment of the Blaze?

அவர்களை நோக்கி "அல்லாஹ் இறக்கிய (இவ்வேதத்)தைப் பின்பற்றுங்கள்" எனக் கூறினால், அதற்கு அவர்கள் "அன்று, எங்கள் மூதாதைகள் எதன்மீது இருக்க நாங்கள் கண்டோமோ அதனையே பின்பற்றுவோம்" என்று கூறுகின்றனர். (என்னே!) அவர்கள் மூதாதைகளை ஷைத்தான் நரக வேதனையின் பக்கம் அழைத்து (அவர்களும் சென்று) இருந்தாலுமா? (இவர்கள் அவர்களைப் பின்பற்றிச் செல்வார்கள்!)

“அல்லாஹ் இறக்கி வைத்த (வேதத்)தை நீங்கள் பின்பற்றுங்கள்” என அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லப்பட்டால், அவர்கள் “(அப்படியல்ல)! நாங்கள் எங்களுடைய மூதாதையவர்களை எதில் கண்டோமோ, அதைத் தான் நாங்கள் பின்பற்றுவோம்” என்று கூறுகிறார்கள். அவர்களை ஷைத்தான் கொழுந்து விட்டெரியும் (நரக) நெருப்பின் வேதனையின் பக்கம் அழைத்தாலுமா (பின்பற்றுவர்?)

அன்றியும், ”அல்லாஹ் இறக்கிய (இவ்வேதத்)தைப் பின்பற்றுங்கள்” என அவர்களுக்கு கூறப்பட்டால், (அதற்கு) அவர்கள், “அவ்வாறல்ல! எங்கள் மூதாதையரை எதன் மீதிருக்க நாங்கள் கண்டோமோ, அதனையே நாங்கள் பின்பற்றுவோம்” என்று கூறுகின்றனர், அவ(ர்களின் மூதாதையர்)களை ஷைத்தான் கொழுந்துவிட்டெரியும் வேதனையின்பால் அழைத்தாலுமா (அவர்களைப் பின்பற்றுவார்கள்)?

When it is said to them, “Follow what Allah has sent down,” they say, “No, we follow what we found our forefathers doing.” Is that so, even if Satan is calling them to the punishment of the Blazing Fire?

Waman yuslim wajhahu ila Allahi wahuwa muhsinun faqadi istamsaka bialAAurwati alwuthqa waila Allahi AAaqibatu alomoori

And whosoever submits his face (himself) to Allâh, while he is a Muhsin (good-doer, i.e. performs good deeds totally for Allâh's sake without any show-off or to gain praise or fame and does them in accordance with the Sunnah of Allâh's Messenger Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]), then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold [Lâ ilâha illallâh (none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh)]. And to Allâh return all matters for decision.

And whoever submits his face to Allah while he is a doer of good - then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold. And to Allah will be the outcome of [all] matters.

எவர் தன்னுடைய முகத்தை முற்றிலும் அல்லாஹ்வின் பக்கம் திருப்பி நன்மையும் செய்து கொண்டிருக்கிறாரோ அவர் நிச்சயமாக (அறுபடாத) மிக்க பலமானதொரு கயிற்றைப் பிடித்துக் கொண்டார். எல்லா காரியங்களின் முடிவும் அல்லாஹ்விடமே இருக்கின்றது.

எவன் தன் முகத்தை முற்றிலும் அல்லாஹ்வின் பக்கமே திருப்பி, நன்மை செய்து கொண்டிருக்கிறானோ, அவன் நிச்சயமாக உறுதியான கயிற்றை பலமாக பற்றிப் பிடித்துக் கொண்டான். இன்னும் காரியங்களின் முடிவெல்லாம் அல்லாஹ்விடமேயுள்ளது.

எவர்_அவர் நன்மை செய்கிறவராயிருக்கும் நிலையில் (தனது காரியத்தை முழுமையாக ஒப்படைத்து) அல்லாஹ்வின் பால் தன் முகத்தை திருப்புகிறாரோ அவர், நிச்சயமாக மிக மிக பலமானதொரு கயிற்றைப் பற்றிப் பிடித்துகொண்டார், சகல காரியங்களின் முடிவும் அல்லாஹ்விடமே இருக்கின்றது.

Whoever submits himself to Allah and does good, he has certainly grasped the firmest handhold. To Allah is the ultimate decision of all matters.

Waman kafara fala yahzunka kufruhu ilayna marjiAAuhum fanunabbiohum bima AAamiloo inna Allaha AAaleemun bithati alssudoori

And whoever disbelieves, let not his disbelief grieve you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]). To Us is their return, and We shall inform them what they have done. Verily, Allâh is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts (of men).

And whoever has disbelieved - let not his disbelief grieve you. To Us is their return, and We will inform them of what they did. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts.

(நபியே!) எவரேனும் உங்களை நிராகரித்து விட்டால், அவர்களுடைய நிராகரிப்பு உங்களைத் துக்கத்தில் ஆழ்த்திவிட வேண்டாம். அவர்கள் நம்மிடமே வரவேண்டியது இருக்கின்றது. அச்சமயம் அவர்களுடைய (இச்) செயலைப் பற்றி நாம் அவர்களுக்கு அறிவுறுத்துவோம். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (மனிதர்களின்) உள்ளங்களில் உள்ளவைகளை நன்கறிந்தவனாக இருக்கிறான்.

(நபியே!) எவன் நிராகரிப்பானோ அவனுடைய குஃப்ரு - நிராகரிப்பு உம்மை விசனப்படுத்த வேண்டாம். அவர்களின் மீளுதல் நம்மிடத்தில்தான் இருக்கிறது; அவர்கள் என்ன செய்து கொண்டிருந்தார்கள் என்பதை அப்பொழுது நாம் அவர்களுக்கு அறிவிப்போம் - நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் இருதயங்களில் உள்ளவற்றை நன்கறிபவன்.

மேலும், (நபியே!) எவர் நிராகரித்துவிட்டாரோ, அவருடைய நிராகரிப்பு உமக்குக் கவலையை உண்டாக்க வேண்டாம், அவர்களின் மீளுதல் நம் பக்கமேயாகும், அது சமயம் அவர்கள் செய்தவற்றைப் பற்றி நாம் அவர்களுக்கு அறிவிப்போம், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ், (மனிதர்களின்) நெஞ்சங்களில் உள்ளவைகளை நன்கறிகிறவன்.

But whoever disbelieves, do not let his disbelief grieve you. To Us is their return, then We will inform them of what they used to do. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing of what is in the hearts.

NumattiAAuhum qaleelan thumma nadtarruhum ila AAathabin ghaleethin

We let them enjoy for a little while, then in the end We shall oblige them to (enter) a great torment.

We grant them enjoyment for a little; then We will force them to a massive punishment.

அவர்களை (இச்சமயம்) சிறிது சுகமனுபவிக்கும்படி நாம் விட்டு வைப்போம். பின்னரோ கடுமையான வேதனையின் பக்கம் (செல்லும்படி) நாம் அவர்களை நிர்ப்பந்தித்து விடுவோம்.

அவர்களை நாம் சிறிது சுகிக்கச் செய்வோம்; பின்னர் நாம் அவர்களை மிகவும் கடுமையான வேதனையில் (புகுமாறு) நிர்ப்பந்திப்போம்.

(இம்மையில்) அவர்களைச் சிறிது சுகமனுபவிக்கச் செய்வோம், பின்னர், கடுமையான வேதனையின்பால் (செல்லும்படி) நாம் அவர்களை நிர்ப்பந்திப்போம்.

We let them enjoy for a little while, then We will drive them to a harsh punishment.

Walain saaltahum man khalaqa alssamawati waalarda layaqoolunna Allahu quli alhamdu lillahi bal aktharuhum la yaAAlamoona

And if you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) ask them: "Who has created the heavens and the earth," they will certainly say: "Allâh." Say: "All praise and thanks are Allâh's!" But most of them know not.

And if you asked them, "Who created the heavens and earth?" they would surely say, "Allah." Say, "[All] praise is [due] to Allah "; but most of them do not know.

(நபியே!) "வானங்களையும் பூமியையும் படைத்தவன் யார்?" என்று நீங்கள் அவர்களைக் கேட்பீராயின், அதற்கவர்கள் "அல்லாஹ்தான்" என்று நிச்சயமாகக் கூறுவார்கள். (அதற்கு நீங்கள் "இவ்வளவேனும் உங்களுக்கு அறிவு இருப்பது பற்றி) அல்லாஹ்வை நான் புகழ்கிறேன்" என்று கூறுங்கள். எனினும், அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலானவர்கள் (இறைவனை இவ்வாறு புகழ்ந்து துதி செய்ய) அறிய மாட்டார்கள்.

“வானங்களையும், பூமியையும் படைத்தவன் யார்? என்று அவர்களிடம் நீர் கேட்பீராயின் அவர்கள், “அல்லாஹ்” என்றே நிச்சயமாக சொல்லுவார்கள்; அல்ஹம்து லில்லாஹ் - எல்லாப்புகழும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே” என்று நீர் கூறுவீராக; எனினும், அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் அறியமாட்டார்கள்.

மேலும் வானங்களையும், பூமியையும் சிருஷ்டித்தவன் யார்? என்று (நபியே!) நீர் அவர்களைக் கேட்பீராயின் அ(தற்க)வர்கள், “அல்லாஹ்” என்று நிச்சயமாக கூறுவார்கள், (அது பற்றி) புகழனைத்தும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே என்று கூறுவீராக! எனினும் அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் (இரட்சகனை இவ்வாறு புகழ்ந்து துதி செய்ய) அறியமாட்டார்கள்.

If you ask them who created the heavens and earth, they will surely say, “Allah.” Say, “All praise is for Allah.” Yet most of them do not understand.

Lillahi ma fee alssamawati waalardi inna Allaha huwa alghaniyyu alhameedu

To Allâh belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth. Verily, Allâh, He is Al-Ghanî (the Rich, Free of all needs), the Worthy of all praise.

To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and earth. Indeed, Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.

வானங்களிலும் பூமியிலும் உள்ள அனைத்தும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு உரியனவே. எனினும், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (இவற்றின்) தேவையற்றவனும் மிகப் புகழுடையவனாகவும் இருக்கிறான்.

வானங்களிலுள்ளவையும், பூமியிலுள்ளவையும் (யாவும்) அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே உரியன. நிச்சயமாக, அல்லாஹ் (எவரிடமும்) தேவையற்றவன்; புகழப்படுபவன்.

வானங்களிலும், பூமியிலும் உள்ளவை அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே உரியவை, (எனினும்) நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் _ (சகலவற்றிலிருந்தும்) அவன் தேவையற்றவன், புகழப்படுபவன்.

To Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and earth. Indeed, Allah is the Self-Sufficient, the Praiseworthy.

Walaw annama fee alardi min shajaratin aqlamun waalbahru yamudduhu min baAAdihi sabAAatu abhurin ma nafidat kalimatu Allahi inna Allaha AAazeezun hakeemun

And if all the trees on the earth were pens and the sea (were ink wherewith to write), with seven seas behind it to add to its (supply), yet the Words of Allâh would not be exhausted. Verily, Allâh is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

And if whatever trees upon the earth were pens and the sea [was ink], replenished thereafter by seven [more] seas, the words of Allah would not be exhausted. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.

பூமியிலுள்ள மரங்கள் (செடிகள்) அனைத்தும் எழுது கோல்களாகவும், கடல் நீரை மையாகவும் வைத்து (அது தீர்ந்து) பின்னும் ஏழு கடல் நீரையும் மையாக வைத்து எழுதியபோதிலும் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வசனங்கள் (எழுதி) முடிவு பெறாது. நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (அனைத்தையும்) மிகைத்தவனும் ஞானமுடைய வனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

மேலும், நிச்சயமாக இப்பூமியிலுள்ள மரங்கள் யாவும் எழுது கோல்களாகவும், கடல் (நீர் முழுதும்) அதனுடன் கூட மற்றும் ஏழு கடல்கள் அதிகமாக்கப்பட்டு (மையாக) இருந்த போதிலும், அல்லாஹ்வின் (புகழ்) வார்த்தைகள் முடிவுறா; நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் மிகைத்தவன்; ஞானம் மிக்கோன்.

மேலும், நிச்சயமாக பூமியில் உள்ள மரங்கள் (யாவும்) எழுது கோல்களாகவும், கடல் (நீர் யாவும் மையாக இருந்து) அ(து தீர்ந்த)தற்கு பின்னர் ஏழுகடல்கள் அதனுடன் (மையாக) சேர்ந்து (கொள்ள அவற்றால் எழுதிக்) கொண்டிருந்தாலும் அல்லாஹ்வின் வாக்குகள் (எழுதித்) தீராது, நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (யாவையும்) மிகைத்தவன், தீர்க்கமான அறிவுடையவன்.

If all the trees on earth were pens and the ocean [were ink], replenished by seven more oceans, the Words of Allah would not be exhausted. Indeed, Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

Ma khalqukum wala baAAthukum illa kanafsin wahidatin inna Allaha sameeAAun baseerun

The creation of you all and the resurrection of you all are only as (the creation and resurrection of) a single person. Verily, Allâh is All-Hearer, All-Seer.

Your creation and your resurrection will not be but as that of a single soul. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Seeing.

மனிதர்களே! (ஆரம்பத்தில்) உங்களை படைப்பதும், (மரணித்த பின்) உங்களுக்கு உயிர்கொடுத்து எழுப்புவதும் அவனுக்கு உங்களில் ஒருவரை (ஆரம்பத்தில்) படை(த்து உயிர் கொடு)ப்பது போலவேயன்றி வேறில்லை. நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (அனைத்தையும்) செவியுறுபவனும் உற்று நோக்குபவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

(மனிதர்களே!) உங்களை படைப்பதும், (நீங்கள் மரித்த பின்) உங்களை (உயிர்ப்பித்து) எழுப்புவதும் ஒருவரைப் (படைத்து, அவர் மரித்தபின் உயிர் கொடுத்து எழுப்புவது) போலன்றி வேறில்லை; நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (யாவற்றையும்) செவியேற்பவன்; உற்று நோக்குபவன்.

(மனிதர்களே!) உங்களை(ப் புதிதாக)ப் படைப்பதும், (மரணித்தபின்) உங்களை (மீண்டும் உயிர்கொடுத்து) எழுப்புவதும் ஓர் ஆத்மாவைப் படை(த்து உயிர் கொடு)ப்பது போலவே தவிர (வேறு) இல்லை நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ், (யாவையும்) செவியேற்கிறவன், பார்க்கிறவன்.

Your creation and resurrection is only like that of a single soul. Indeed, Allah is All-Hearing, All Seeing.

Alam tara anna Allaha yooliju allayla fee alnnahari wayooliju alnnahara fee allayli wasakhkhara alshshamsa waalqamara kullun yajree ila ajalin musamman waanna Allaha bima taAAmaloona khabeerun

See you not (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) that Allâh merges the night into the day (i.e. the decrease in the hours of the night are added to the hours of the day), and merges the day into the night (i.e. the decrease in the hours of day are added to the hours of night), and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running its course for a term appointed; and that Allâh is Well-Acquainted with what you do.

Do you not see that Allah causes the night to enter the day and causes the day to enter the night and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term, and that Allah, with whatever you do, is Acquainted?

(நபியே!) அல்லாஹ்தான் இரவைப் பகலிலும் பகலை இரவிலும் நுழைய வைத்து சூரியனையும் சந்திரனையும் (தன் அதிகாரத்திற்குள்) அடக்கி வைத்திருக்கின்றான் என்பதையும் நீங்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா? இவைகளில் ஒவ்வொன்றும் (அவைகளுக்கு அவன்) குறிப்பிட்ட திட்டப்படியே நடக்கின்றன. நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நீங்கள் செய்பவைகளை நன்கறிந்தவனாக இருக்கிறான்.

“நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்தான் இரவைப் பகலில் புகுத்துகிறான்; பகலை இரவில் புகுத்துகிறான்; இன்னும் சூரியனையும், சந்திரனையும் வசப்படுத்தினான்” என்பதை நீர் பார்க்கவில்லையா? ஒவ்வொன்றும் ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட தவணைவரை செல்கின்றன; அன்றியும் நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நீங்கள் செய்பவற்றை நன்கறிபவன்.

(நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் இரவைப் பகலில் புகவைக்கிறான், பகலை இரவில் புகவைக்கிறான் என்பதையும், சூரியனையும் சந்திரனையும் வசப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறான் என்பதையும் நீர் பார்க்கவில்லையா? (இவற்றில்) ஒவ்வொன்றும் குறிப்பிடபட்ட தவணையின்பால் நடக்கின்றன, இன்னும், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ், நீங்கள் செய்பவற்றை நன்கு உணர்பவன்.

Do you not see that Allah causes the night to merge into day and the day into the night, and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running its course for an appointed term, and that Allah is All-Aware of what you do?

Thalika bianna Allaha huwa alhaqqu waanna ma yadAAoona min doonihi albatilu waanna Allaha huwa alAAaliyyu alkabeeru

That is because Allâh, He is the Truth, and that which they invoke besides Him is Al-Bâtil (falsehood, Satan and all other false deities); and that Allâh, He is the Most High, the Most Great.

That is because Allah is the Truth, and that what they call upon other than Him is falsehood, and because Allah is the Most High, the Grand.

இவையனைத்தும் "நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்தான் உண்மையான இறைவன் என்பதற்கும், அவனையன்றி அவர்கள் (தெய்வங்களென) அழைப்பவை பொய்யானவை என்பதற்கும், அல்லாஹ்தான் மிகப் பெரியவனும் மேலானவனும் ஆவான்" என்பதற்கும் அத்தாட்சி களாக இருக்கின்றன.

எதனாலென்றால் நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வே மெய்யான (இறை)வனாவான்; அவனை அன்றி அவர்கள் பிரார்த்திப்பவையாவும் அசத்தியமானவை; மேலும் நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வே உன்னத மிக்கவன்; மகாப் பெரியவன்.  

அது (ஏனெனில்) நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்_அவனே மெய்யானவனாவான், அவனைத் தவிர அவர்கள் அழைப்பது பொய்யானதாகும், மேலும், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்_அவனே (சகலரையும்விட) உயர்வுடையவன், மிகப்பெரியவன் என்ற காரணத்திலாகும்.

That is because Allah is the Truth, and what they supplicate other than Him is false, and it is Allah Who is the Most High, the All-Great.

Alam tara anna alfulka tajree fee albahri biniAAmati Allahi liyuriyakum min ayatihi inna fee thalika laayatin likulli sabbarin shakoorin

See you not that the ships sail through the sea by Allâh's Grace that He may show you of His Signs? Verily, in this are signs for every patient, grateful (person).

Do you not see that ships sail through the sea by the favor of Allah that He may show you of His signs? Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.

அல்லாஹ்வினுடைய அருட்கொடைகளைச் சுமந்துகொண்டு கடலில் செல்லும் கப்பலும் அவனுடைய அத்தாட்சிகளை உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கக் கூடியதாக இருப்பதை நீங்கள் கவனிக்க வில்லையா? பொறுமையுடன் (கஷ்டங்களைச்) சகித்திருந்து, அவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தும் அனைவருக்கும் நிச்சயமாக இதில் பல அத்தாட்சிகள் இருக்கின்றன.

தன்னுடைய அத்தாட்சிகளை உங்களுக்குக் காண்பிப்பதற்காக வேண்டி, அல்லாஹ்வுடைய அருள் கொடையைக் கொண்டு நிச்சயமாகக் கப்பல் கடலில் (மிதந்து) செல்வதை நீர் காணவில்லையா? நிச்சயமாக இதில் பொறுமை மிக்க - நன்றியறிதலுடைய ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் அத்தாட்சிகள் இருக்கின்றன.

தன்னுடைய அத்தாட்சிகளை உங்களுக்கு அவன் காண்பிப்பதற்காக வேண்டி அல்லாஹ்வின் அருட்கொடையைக் கொண்டு, கடலில் நிச்சயமாக கப்பல் (மிதந்து) செல்வதை நீர் காணவில்லையா? நிச்சயமாக இதில், அதிகமாகப் பொறுமையுடையோர் _ நன்றியுடையோருக்குப் பல அத்தாட்சிகள் இருக்கின்றன.

Do you not see that the ships sail through the sea by the grace of Allah, so that He may show you some of His signs? Indeed, there are signs in this for everyone who is steadfast and grateful.

Waitha ghashiyahum mawjun kaalththulali daAAawoo Allaha mukhliseena lahu alddeena falamma najjahum ila albarri faminhum muqtasidun wama yajhadu biayatina illa kullu khattarin kafoorin

And when waves cover them like shades (i.e. like clouds or the mountains of sea water), they invoke Allâh, making their invocations for Him only. But when He brings them safe to land, there are among them those that stop in between (Belief and disbelief). But none denies Our Signs except every perfidious ingrate.

And when waves come over them like canopies, they supplicate Allah, sincere to Him in religion. But when He delivers them to the land, there are [some] of them who are moderate [in faith]. And none rejects Our signs except everyone treacherous and ungrateful.

(கப்பலில் செல்லும்) அவர்களை(ப் புயல் காற்றடித்து நாலா பக்கங்களிலிருந்தும்) அலைகள் மேல் முகடுகளைப் போல் சூழ்ந்து கொள்ளும் சமயத்தில், அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு வழிபட்டு, கலப்பற்ற மனதுடன் அவனை அழைத்துப் பிரார்த்திக்கின்றனர்! நாம் அவர்களைக் கரையில் இறக்கி பாதுகாத்துக் கொண்டாலோ அவர்களில் சிலர்தாம் நிதானமாக நடக்கின்றனர். (பெரும்பாலான வர்களோ நிதானம் தவறியே நடக்கின்றனர்.) மிக நன்றிகெட்ட சதிகாரர்களைத் தவிர (மற்றெவரும்) நம்முடைய அத்தாட்சிகளை நிராகரிக்க மாட்டார்கள்.

(கப்பலில் செல்லும்) அவர்களை, மலைமுகடுகளைப் போன்ற அலை சூழ்ந்து கொள்ளுமானால், அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே வழிபட்டு அந்தரங்க சுத்தியுடன் அவனிடம் பிரார்த்திக்கின்றனர்; ஆனால் அவன் அவர்களைக் காப்பாற்றிக்கரைசேர்த்து விட்டால், அவர்களில் சிலர் நடுநிலையாக நடந்து கொள்கிறார்கள் - எனினும் மிகவும் நன்றி கெட்ட, பெருந்துரோகிகளைத் தவிர வேறு எவரும் நம் அத்தாட்சிகளை நிராகரிப்பதில்லை.

(கடலில் பிரயாணிக்கும்) அவர்களை(ப் புயல் காற்றடித்து நாலா பக்கங்களிலிருந்தும்) அலைகள், மேல் முகடுகளைப் போல் சூழ்ந்து கொள்ளும் சமயத்தில் அல்லாஹ்வை_அவனுக்கே மார்க்கத்தை கலப்பற்றதாக ஆக்கியவர்களாக_அவர்கள் அழை(த்து பிரார்த்தி)க்கின்றனர், அவன், அவர்களைக் காப்பாற்றி கரை சேர்த்துவிட்டால், அப்போது அவர்களில் (அல்லாஹ்வை விசுவாசங் கொள்ளும்) நீதமானவரும் உண்டு, இன்னும் மிக நன்றிகெட்ட பெரும் சதிகாரர்களைத் தவிர, (மற்றெவரும்) நம்முடைய அத்தாட்சிகளை நிராகரிப்பதில்லை.

When they are overwhelmed by waves like canopies, they cry out to Allah in sincere devotion to Him alone, but when He delivers them to the land, only some of them take a middle course [in faith]. But none rejects Our signs except every ungrateful treacherous.

Ya ayyuha alnnasu ittaqoo rabbakum waikhshaw yawman la yajzee walidun AAan waladihi wala mawloodun huwa jazin AAan walidihi shayan inna waAAda Allahi haqqun fala taghurrannakumu alhayatu alddunya wala yaghurrannakum biAllahi algharooru

O mankind! Be afraid of your Lord (by keeping your duty to Him and avoiding all evil), and fear a Day when no father can avail aught for his son, nor a son avail aught for his father. Verily, the Promise of Allâh is true, let not then this (worldly) present life deceive you, nor let the chief deceiver (Satan) deceive you about Allâh.

O mankind, fear your Lord and fear a Day when no father will avail his son, nor will a son avail his father at all. Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth, so let not the worldly life delude you and be not deceived about Allah by the Deceiver.

மனிதர்களே! உங்கள் இறைவனுக்கு அஞ்சி ஒரு நாளைப் பற்றியும் பயந்து கொள்ளுங்கள். (அந்நாளில்) தந்தை பிள்ளைக்கு உதவ மாட்டான்; பிள்ளையும் தந்தைக்கு யாதொரு உதவியும் செய்ய மாட்டான். ஒவ்வொருவரும் தன்னையே பாதுகாத்துக் கொள்ளும் படி நிர்ப்பந்திக்கக்கூடிய நாளாகும். நிச்சயமாக (அந்நாள் வருமென்ற) அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வாக்குறுதி உண்மையானதாகும். ஆகவே, இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கை உங்களை மயக்கி விட வேண்டாம். (ஷைத்தானாகிய) மாயக்காரனும் அல்லாஹ்வைப் பற்றி உங்களை மயக்கிவிட வேண்டாம்.

மனிதர்களே! உங்கள் இறைவனையஞ்சி (நடந்து) கொள்ளுங்கள்; இன்னும் அந்த (கியாமத்) நாளைக்குறித்துப் பயந்து கொள்ளுங்கள்; (அந்நாளில்) தந்தை தன் மகனுக்கு பலனளிக்க மாட்டார்; (அதே போன்று) பிள்ளையும் தன் தந்தைக்கு எதையும் நிறைவேற்றி வைக்க இயலாது; நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வின் வாக்குறுதி உண்மையானதாகும்; ஆகவே இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கை உங்களை மருட்டி ஏமாற்றிவிட வேண்டாம்; மருட்டி ஏமாற்றுபவ(னாகிய ஷைத்தா)னும் அல்லாஹ்வைக் குறித்து உங்களை மருட்டி ஏமாற்றாதிருக்கட்டும்.

மனிதர்களே! உங்கள் இரட்சகனுக்கு பயந்து கொள்ளுங்கள், இன்னும், ஒரு நாளை பயப்படுங்கள், (அந்நாளில்,) எந்தத் தந்தையும் தன் பிள்ளைக்கு உதவமாட்டான், எந்தப் பிள்ளையும் தன் தந்தைக்கு எத்தகைய உதவியும் செய்பவனாக இல்லை. நிச்சயமாக (அந்நாள் வருமென்ற) அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வாக்குறுதி, உண்மையானதாகும், ஆகவே, நிச்சயமாக இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கை உங்களை ஏமாற்றிவிட வேண்டாம், (ஷைத்தானாகிய) ஏமாற்றுபவனும், அல்லாஹ்வைப்பற்றி உங்களை ஏமாற்றிவிட வேண்டாம்.

O mankind, fear your Lord and dread a day when no father will avail his son, nor will a son avail his father anything. The promise of Allah is true, so do not let the life of this world deceive you, nor let the Chief Deceiver [Satan] deceive you concerning Allah.

Inna Allaha AAindahu AAilmu alssaAAati wayunazzilu alghaytha wayaAAlamu ma fee alarhami wama tadree nafsun matha taksibu ghadan wama tadree nafsun biayyi ardin tamootu inna Allaha AAaleemun khabeerun

Verily, Allâh, with Him (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour, He sends down the rain, and knows that which is in the wombs. No person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows in what land he will die. Verily, Allâh is All-Knower, Well-Acquainted (with things).

Indeed, Allah [alone] has knowledge of the Hour and sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. And no soul perceives what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul perceives in what land it will die. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.

நிச்சயமாக (உலக முடிவு) காலத்தைப் பற்றிய ஞானம் அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில் (மட்டும்)தான் இருக்கிறது. அவனே மழையை இறக்கி வைக்கிறான். அவனே கர்ப்பங்களில் தரிப்பதையும் அறிவான். (அவனைத் தவிர) எவரும் நாளைக்கு அவர் என்ன செய்வார் என்பதை அறியமாட்டார். எந்தப் பூமியில் இறப்பார் என்பதையும் (அவனைத் தவிர) எவரும் அறியமாட்டார். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்தான் (இவைகளை) நன்கறிந்தவனும் தெரிந்தவனுமாக இருக்கிறான்.

நிச்சயமாக அந்த (கியாம) நேரம் பற்றிய ஞானம் அல்லாஹ்விடமே இருக்கிறது; அவனே மழையையும் இறக்குகிறான்; இன்னும் அவன் கர்ப்பங்களில் உள்ளவற்றையும் அறிகிறான். நாளை தினம் தாம் (செய்வது) சம்பாதிப்பது எது என்பதை எவரும் அறிவதில்லை; தான் எந்த பூமியில் இறப்போம் என்பதையும் எவரும் அறிவதில்லை. நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்தான் நன்கறிபவன்; நுட்பம் மிக்கவன்.

நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்_அவனிடம்தான் மறுமைநாள் பற்றிய அறிவு இருக்கிறது. அவனே மழையையும் இறக்கிவைக்கிறான், அவனே கர்ப்பங்களில் உள்ளவைகளையும் அறிகிறான், எந்த ஆத்மாவும், நாளை அது எதைச் சம்பாதிக்கும் என அறியாது. மேலும், எந்த ஆத்மாவும் எந்தப் பூமியில் தனக்கு மரணம் சம்பவிக்கும் என்பதையும் அறியாது, நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (அவனே) நன்கறிகிறவன், (செய்திகளை) நன்குணர்பவன்.

Indeed, Allah has the knowledge of the Hour. He sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. No soul knows what it will do tomorrow, nor does any soul know in which land it will die. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware.
