Alif-Lâm-Mîm.[These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'ân, and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings.]

அலிஃப்; லாம்; மீம்.

அலிஃப், லாம், மீம்.

அலிஃப் லாம் மீம்.

Alif Lām Mīm.

Ahasiba alnnasu an yutrakoo an yaqooloo amanna wahum la yuftanoona

Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: "We believe," and will not be tested.

Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe" and they will not be tried?

மனிதர்கள் "நாங்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டோம்" என்று கூறினால் (மட்டும் போதுமானது, அதனைப் பற்றி) அவர்கள் சோதிக்கப்படாமல் விட்டு விடப்படுவார்கள் என்று எண்ணிக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றனரா?

“நாங்கள் ஈமான் கொண்டிருக்கின்றோம்” என்று கூறுவதனால் (மட்டும்) அவர்கள் சோதிக்கப்படாமல் விட்டு விடப்படுவார்கள் என்று மனிதர்கள் எண்ணிக் கொண்டார்களா?

மனிதர்கள்_”நாங்கள் விசுவாசங்கொண்டோம்” என்று அவர்கள் கூறுவது கொண்டு (மட்டும்) அவர்கள் விட்டுவிடப்படுவார்கள் என்றும், அவர்கள் சோதனைக்குள்ளாக்கப்படவுமாட்டார்கள் என்றும் எண்ணிக்கொண்டார்களா?

Do people think once they say, “We believe,” that they will be left without being put to the test?

Walaqad fatanna allatheena min qablihim falayaAAlamanna Allahu allatheena sadaqoo walayaAAlamanna alkathibeena

And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allâh will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allâh knows all that before putting them to test).

But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars.

இவர்களுக்கு முன்னிருந்தவர்களை எல்லாம் நிச்சயமாக நாம் சோதித்தே இருக்கின்றோம். ஆகவே, (நம்பிக்கை கொண்டோம் என்று கூறும்) இவர்களில் உண்மை சொல்பவர்கள் எவர்கள் என்பதை நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (சோதித்து) அறிந்து கொள்வான். (அவ்வாறே இதில்) பொய் சொல்பவர்கள் எவர்கள் என்பதையும் நிச்சயமாக அவன் (சோதித்து) அறிந்துகொள்வான்.

நிச்சயமாக அவர்களுக்கு முன்னிருந்தார்களே அவர்களையும் நாம் சோதித்திருக்கின்றோம் - ஆகவே உண்மையுரைப்பவர்களை நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் அறிவான்; இன்னும் பொய்யர்களையும் அவன் நிச்சயமாக அறிவான்.

இவர்களுக்கு முன்னிருந்தோரையும் திட்டமாக நாம் சோதித்திருக்கின்றோம், ஆகவே, (விசுவாசங்கொண்டோம் என்று கூறும் இவர்களில்) உண்மை சொல்பவர்களை, நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் அறிவான், (அவ்வாறே, இவர்களில்) பொய்யர்களையும் நிச்சயமாக அவன் அறிவான்.

We certainly tested those who came before them. For Allah will surely make known those who are truthful and those who are liars.

Am hasiba allatheena yaAAmaloona alssayyiati an yasbiqoona saa ma yahkumoona

Or think those who do evil deeds that they can outstrip Us (i.e. escape Our punishment)? Evil is that which they judge!

Or do those who do evil deeds think they can outrun Us? Evil is what they judge.

அல்லது பாவங்களைச் செய்பவர்கள் (தண்டனையடையாது) நம்மை விட்டுத் தப்பித்துக் கொள்வார்கள் என்று எண்ணிக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றனரா? (அவ்வாறாயின் இதைப் பற்றிய) அவர்களுடைய தீர்மானம் மகா கெட்டது.

அல்லது: தீமை செய்கிறார்களே அவர்கள் நம்மைவிட்டும் தாங்கள் தப்பிக் கொள்வார்கள் என்று எண்ணிக் கொண்டார்களா? அவர்கள் (அவ்வாறு) தீர்மானித்துக் கொண்டது மிகவும் கெட்டது.

அல்லது, தீயவைகளைச் செய்கிறார்களே அவர்கள் நம்மை விட்டும் தாங்கள் தப்பித்துக்கொள்ளலாம் என்று எண்ணிக்கொண்டார்களா? (அவ்வாறாயின் இதை பற்றி) அவர்கள் தீர்மானம் செய்தது மிகக்கெட்டது.

Do the evildoers think that they can escape Us? How evil is their judgment!

Man kana yarjoo liqaa Allahi fainna ajala Allahi laatin wahuwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu

Whoever hopes for the Meeting with Allâh, then Allâh's Term is surely coming, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.

Whoever should hope for the meeting with Allah - indeed, the term decreed by Allah is coming. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

எவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வைச் சந்திப்போம் என நம்புகிறார்களோ அவர்கள் (அதற்கு வேண்டிய காரியங்களைச் செய்து கொள்ள வேண்டியது அவசியம். ஏனென்றால்) அதற்காக அல்லாஹ் ஏற்படுத்திய தவணை நிச்சயமாக வந்தே தீரும். அவன் (அனைத்தையும்) செவியுறுபவனும் நன்கறிந்தவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

எவர் அல்லாஹ்வைச் சந்திப்போம் என்று நம்புகிறார்களோ அவர்கள் (அதற்காக நல்ல அமல்களைச் செய்து கொள்ளட்டும்); ஏனெனில் அல்லாஹ் (அதற்காகக் குறித்துள்ள) தவணை நிச்சயமாக வருவதாக இருக்கிறது; அவன் (யாவற்றையும்) செவியேற்பவனாகவும், நன்கு அறிபவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

அல்லாஹ்வுடைய சந்திப்பை எவர் ஆதரவுவைக்கிறாரோ அவர் (அதற்கு வேண்டிய நல்ல காரியங்களைச் செய்துகொள்ளட்டும்), ஏனெனில், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வுடைய தவணை வரக்கூடியதாகும், அவனே (யாவையும்) செவியேற்கிறவன், நன்கறிகிறவன்.

Whoever hopes to meet Allah, the time appointed by Allah is sure to come, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Waman jahada fainnama yujahidu linafsihi inna Allaha laghaniyyun AAani alAAalameena

And whosoever strives, he strives only for himself. Verily, Allâh stands not in need of any of the 'آlamîn (mankind, jinn, and all that exists).

And whoever strives only strives for [the benefit of] himself. Indeed, Allah is free from need of the worlds.

(அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வழியில்) எவரேனும் முயற்சி மேற்கொண்டால், நிச்சயமாக அவர் தன் சொந்த நலனுக்காகவே முயன்றவனாகிறார். ஏனென்றால், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் உலகத்தாரின் (உதவி) தேவையற்றவனாக இருக்கின்றான்.

இன்னும், எவர் (அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையில்) உழைக்கிறாரோ அவர் நிச்சயமாகத் தமக்காகவே உழைக்கிறார்; நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் அகிலத்தார் (உதவி எதுவும்) தேவைப்படாதவன்.

மேலும், (அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வழியில்) எவர் ஜிஹாது (அறப்போர்) செய்கிறாரோ அவர் ஜிஹாது செய்வதெல்லாம் (அதன் பயனெல்லாம்) தனக்காகத்தான், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் அகிலத்தாரை விட்டும் தேவையற்றவன்.

Whoever strives, he only strives for his own good. Indeed, Allah is in no need of the worlds.

Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lanukaffiranna AAanhum sayyiatihim walanajziyannahum ahsana allathee kanoo yaAAmaloona

Those who believe [in the Oneness of Allâh (Monotheism) and in Messenger Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam], and do not give up their Faith because of the harm they receive from the polytheists], and do righteous good deeds, surely, We shall expiate from them their evil deeds and shall reward them according to the best of that which they used to do.

And those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surely remove from them their misdeeds and will surely reward them according to the best of what they used to do.

ஆகவே, எவர்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு நற்செயல்களைச் செய்கின்றார்களோ அவர்களுடைய பாவத்திற்கு (அவைகளைப்) பரிகாரமாக்கி வைத்து அவர்கள் செய்ததைவிட மிக்க அழகான கூலியையே நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுப்போம்.

ஆகவே, எவர்கள் ஈமான் கொண்டு நல்ல அமல்கள் செய்கிறார்களோ அவர்களுடைய தீங்குகளை அவர்களை விட்டும் நிச்சயமாக நீக்கி விடுவோம்; இன்னும், அவர்கள் செய்த நன்மைகளுக்கு அவற்றைவிட மிக்க அழகான கூலியை, நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்களுக்கு கொடுப்போம்.

இன்னும், விசுவாசங்கொண்டு, நற்கருமங்களையும் செய்கிறார்களே அத்தகையோர்_ அவர்களுடைய தீமைகளை அவர்களை விட்டும் நிச்சயமாக நாம் நீக்கிவிடுவோம், அவர்கள் செய்துகொண்டிருந்தவற்றில் மிக அழகானதை நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்களுக்குக் கூலியாகவும் கொடுப்போம்.

As for those who believe and do righteous deeds, We will surely expiate their sins, and reward them according to the best of what they used to do.

Wawassayna alinsana biwalidayhi husnan wain jahadaka litushrika bee ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun fala tutiAAhuma ilayya marjiAAukum faonabbiokum bima kuntum taAAmaloona

And We have enjoined on man to be good and dutiful to his parents; but if they strive to make you join with Me (in worship) anything (as a partner) of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not. To Me is your return and I shall tell you what you used to do.

And We have enjoined upon man goodness to parents. But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. To Me is your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.

தாய் தந்தைக்கு நன்றி செய்யும்படியாக நாம் மனிதனுக்கு நல்லுபதேசம் செய்திருக்கின்றோம். (எனினும், இறைவன் என்பதற்கு) எவ்வித ஆதாரமும் இல்லாதவைகளை எனக்கு இணையாக்கும்படி (மனிதனே!) அவர்கள் உன்னை நிர்ப்பந்தித்தால் (அவ்விஷயத்தில்) நீ அவர்களுக்கு வழிப்படாதே! என்னிடமே நீ திரும்ப வேண்டிய லிதிருக்கின்றது. நீ செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவைகளைப் பற்றி (நன்மையா தீமையா என்பதை) அச்சமயம் நான் உனக்கு அறிவித்துவிடுவேன்.

தன் தாய் தந்தையருக்கு நன்மை செய்யும்படியாக நாம் மனிதனுக்கு வஸிய்யத்து செய்திருக்கிறோம்; எனினும், (மனிதனே!) உனக்கு அறிவு இல்லாத ஒன்றை எனக்கு இணையாக்கும்படி அவ்விருவரும் உன்னை வற்புறுத்தினால், நீ அவ்விருவருக்கும் கீழ்படிய வேண்டாம்; என்னிடமே உங்கள் அனைவரின் மீளுதலும் இருக்கிறது; நீங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவை பற்றி அப்போது நான் உங்களுக்கு அறிவிப்பேன்.

மேலும், தன் பெற்றோருக்கு நன்மை செய்யும்படியாக நாம் மனிதனுக்கு நல்லுபதேசம் செய்திருக்கின்றோம், அன்றியும் எதைப் பற்றி உனக்கு அறிவு இல்லையோ அதை எனக்கு இணையாக்குமாறு (மனிதனே!) அவர்கள் இருவரும் உன்னை நிர்ப்பந்தித்தால் (அவ்விஷயத்தில்) நீ அவ்விருவருக்கும் கீழ்ப்படிய வேண்டாம், என்னிடமே உங்களின் மீளுதல் இருக்கிறது, அது சமயம் நீங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவைகளைப் பற்றி நான் உங்களுக்கு அறிவிப்பேன்.

We have enjoined upon man kindness to his parents. But if they strive to make you associate with Me what you have no knowledge of, then do not obey them. To Me is your return; then I will inform you of what you used to do.

Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lanudkhilannahum fee alssaliheena

And for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh and the other articles of Faith) and do righteous good deeds, surely, We shall make them enter with (in the entrance of) the righteous (in Paradise).

And those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surely admit them among the righteous [into Paradise].

எவர்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு நற்செயல்களைச் செய்கிறார்களோ அவர்களை நிச்சயமாக நாம் நல்லோர்களுடன் சேர்த்துவிடுவோம்.

அன்றியும் எவர் ஈமான் கொண்டு, நற்கருமங்களைச் செய்கிறார்களோ அவர்களை நல்லடியார்களுடன் நிச்சயமாக நாம் சேர்த்து விடுவோம்.

மேலும், விசுவாசங்கொண்டு, நற்கருமங்களையும் செய்கிறார்களே அத்தகையோர்_அவர்களை நிச்சயமாக நாம் நல்லோர்களி(ன் கூட்டத்தாருடன் சுவனத்தி)ல் நுழைவிப்போம்.

Those who believe and do righteous deeds, We will surely admit them among the righteous.

Wamina alnnasi man yaqoolu amanna biAllahi faitha oothiya fee Allahi jaAAala fitnata alnnasi kaAAathabi Allahi walain jaa nasrun min rabbika layaqoolunna inna kunna maAAakum awalaysa Allahu biaAAlama bima fee sudoori alAAalameena

Of mankind are some who say: "We believe in Allâh." But if they are made to suffer for the sake of Allâh, they consider the trial of mankind as Allâh's punishment; and if victory comes from your Lord, (the hypocrites) will say: "Verily, we were with you (helping you)." Is not Allâh Best Aware of what is in the breasts of the 'آlamîn (mankind and jinn)?

And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah," but when one [of them] is harmed for [the cause of] Allah, they consider the trial of the people as [if it were] the punishment of Allah. But if victory comes from your Lord, they say, "Indeed, We were with you." Is not Allah most knowing of what is within the breasts of all creatures?

மனிதர்களில் சிலர் இருக்கின்றனர்: அவர்கள் "நாங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வை நம்பிக்கை கொள்கின்றோம்" என்று கூறுகின்றனர். எனினும், அவர்களுக்கு அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வழியில் ஏதும் துன்பம் ஏற்பட்டால், மக்களால் ஏற்படும் அத்துன்பத்தை அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வேதனையைப் போல் (மிகப் பெரிதாக) ஆக்கி (உங்களிடமிருந்து விலகி)க் கொள்(ள விரும்பு)கின்றனர். உங்கள் இறைவனிடமிருந்து உங்களுக்கு யாதொரு உதவி கிடைக்கும் பட்சத்தில் "நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் உங்களுடன்தான் இருந்தோம்" என்று கூறுகின்றனர். உலகத்தாரின் உள்ளங்களில் உள்ளவற்றை அல்லாஹ் நன்கு அறிந்தவனாக இல்லையா?

மேலும், மனிதர்களில் சிலர் “நாங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது நம்பிக்கைக் கொண்டுள்ளோம்” என்று சொல்கிறார்கள்; எனினும், அவர்களுக்கு அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையில் துன்பம் உண்டானால், மனிதர்களால் ஏற்படும் அந்த இம்சையை அல்லாஹ்வின் வேதனைபோல் கருதி (உம்மை விட்டும் நீங்க முனைந்து) விடுகிறார்கள்; ஆனால் உம் இறைவனிடத்திலிருந்து உதவி வரும்போது: “நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் உங்களுடனே தான் இருந்தோம்” என்று கூறுகிறார்கள். அல்லாஹ் அகிலத்தாரின் இதயங்களில் இருப்பவற்றை நன்கறிந்தவனாக இல்லையா?

இன்னும் மனிதர்களில், “அல்லாஹ்வை நாங்கள் விசுவாசம் கொண்டுள்ளோம்” என்று கூறுகின்ற சிலர் இருக்கின்றனர். ஆகவே, அவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வழியில் துன்புறுத்தப்பட்டால், மனிதர்களால் ஏற்படும் (அத்)துன்பத்தை, அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வேதனையைப் போலாக்கி (உங்களிடமிருந்து விலகி)க் கொள்கின்றனர். உமதிரட்சகனிடமிருந்து (உங்களுக்கு) ஏதேனும் உதவி வந்து விட்டாலோ, “நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் உங்களுடன் தான் இருந்தோம்” என்று கூறுகின்றனர். அகிலத்தாரின் இதயங்களில் உள்ளவற்றை அல்லாஹ் மிக அறிந்தவனாக இல்லையா?

There are some among people who say, “We believe in Allah”, but when they suffer for the sake of Allah, they deem the persecution of men as equal to the punishment of Allah. But when victory comes from your Lord, they will surely say, “We were with you.” Does Allah not know best what is in the hearts of all people?

WalayaAAlamanna Allahu allatheena amanoo walayaAAlamanna almunafiqeena

Verily, Allâh knows those who believe, and verily, He knows the hypocrites (i.e. Allâh will test the people with good and hard days to discriminate the good from the wicked, although Allâh knows all that before putting them to test).

And Allah will surely make evident those who believe, and He will surely make evident the hypocrites.

ஆகவே, இவர்களில் உண்மையாகவே நம்பிக்கை கொண்டவர்கள் எவர்கள் என்பதை நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நன்கறிவான். (உள்ளொன்று வைத்துப் புறமொன்று பேசும்) நயவஞ்சகர்கள் எவர்கள் என்பதையும் அவன் நன்கறிவான்.

அன்றியும், நம்பிக்கை கொண்டவர்களை நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நன்கறிவான்; நயவஞ்சகர்களையும், அவன் நிச்சயமாக நன்கறிவான்.

(ஆகவே,) விசுவாசங்கொண்டிருப்போரையும் நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நன்கறிவான், (வேஷதாரிகளான) முனாஃபிக்குகளையும், நிச்சயமாக அவன் நன்கறிவான்.

Allah will certainly make known those who truly believe and those who are hypocrites.

Waqala allatheena kafaroo lillatheena amanoo ittabiAAoo sabeelana walnahmil khatayakum wama hum bihamileena min khatayahum min shayin innahum lakathiboona

And those who disbelieve say to those who believe: "Follow our way and we will, verily, bear your sins." Never will they bear anything of their sins. Surely, they are liars.

And those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Follow our way, and we will carry your sins." But they will not carry anything of their sins. Indeed, they are liars.

நிராகரிப்பவர்கள், நம்பிக்கையாளர்களை நோக்கி "நீங்கள் எங்களுடைய வழியைப் பின்பற்றுங்கள். (அதனால் ஏதும் குற்றங் குறைகள் ஏற்பட்டால்) உங்களுடைய குற்றங்களை நாங்கள் சுமந்து கொள்கின்றோம்" என்று கூறுகின்றனர். எனினும், உங்களுடைய குற்றங்களிலிருந்து எதனையுமே அவர்கள் சுமந்து கொள்ள மாட்டார்கள். நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் பொய்யர்களே!

நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டவர்களிடம்: “நீங்கள் எங்கள் வழியை (மார்க்கத்தைப்) பின்பற்றுங்கள்; உங்கள் குற்றங்களை நாங்கள் சுமந்து கொள்கிறோம்” என்று கூறுகிறார்கள்; ஆனால், அவர்கள் தம் குற்றங்களிலிருந்தும் எதையும் சுமப்பவர்களாக (தாங்குபவர்களாக) இல்லையே! எனவே (உங்கள் குற்றங்களை சுமப்பதற்காகச் சொல்லும்) அவர்கள் நிச்சயமாக பொய்யர்களே!

நிராகரிப்போ(ரில்பல)ர் விசுவாசிகளிடம், “நீங்கள் எங்களுடைய வழியைப் பின்பற்றுங்கள், (அதனால் ஏதும் குற்றம் ஏற்பட்டால்,) உங்களுடைய குற்றங்களையும் நாங்கள் சுமந்து கொள்கின்றோம்” என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர், அன்றியும், அவர்களுடைய குற்றங்களிலிருந்து எதனையுமே இவர்கள் சுமந்து கொள்பவர்களாக இல்லை_ நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் பொய்யர்களே!

Those who disbelieve say to those who believe, “Follow our way, and we will bear the burden of your sins.” But they will never bear any of their sins. They are indeed liars.

Walayahmilunna athqalahum waathqalan maAAa athqalihim walayusalunna yawma alqiyamati AAamma kanoo yaftaroona

And verily, they shall bear their own loads, and other loads besides their own; and verily, they shall be questioned on the Day of Resurrection about that which they used to fabricate.

But they will surely carry their [own] burdens and [other] burdens along with their burdens, and they will surely be questioned on the Day of Resurrection about what they used to invent.

ஆயினும், அவர்கள் தங்கள் பாவச்சுமைகளுடன் (மனிதர்களை வழி கெடுத்த) பாவச்சுமையையும் நிச்சயமாக சுமப்பார்கள். அன்றி, அவர்கள் இவ்வாறு பொய்யாகக் கற்பனை செய்து கூறிக்கொண்டிருந்ததைப் பற்றியும் நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் மறுமை நாளில் கேட்கப்படுவார்கள்.

ஆனால் நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் தங்களுடைய (பளுவான பாவச்) சுமைகளையும், தம் (பளுவான பாவச்) சுமைகளுடன் (அவர்கள் வழிகெடுத்தோரின் பளுவான பாவச்) சுமைகளையும் சுமப்பார்கள்; கியாம நாளன்று அவர்கள் இட்டுக்கட்டிக் கொண்டிருந்தவை பற்றி நிச்சயமாக விசாரிக்கப்படுவார்கள்.  

அன்றியும், அவர்கள் தங்கள் (பாவச்) சுமைகளையும் தம் (பாவச்) சுமைகளுடன் (அவர்கள் வழிகெடுத்தோரின் பாவச்) சுமைகளையும் நிச்சயமாக சுமப்பார்கள், இன்னும் அவர்கள் இட்டுகட்டிகொண்டிருந்தவைகளைப் பற்றியும் நிச்சயமாக மறுமை நாளில் (விசாரித்துக்) கேட்கப்படுவார்கள்.

They will certainly bear their own burdens, as well as other burdens along with their own burdens, and on the Day of Resurrection they will certainly be questioned concerning what they used to fabricate.

Walaqad arsalna noohan ila qawmihi falabitha feehim alfa sanatin illa khamseena AAaman faakhathahumu alttoofanu wahum thalimoona

And indeed We sent Nûh (Noah) to his people, and he stayed among them a thousand years less fifty years [inviting them to believe in the Oneness of Allâh (Monotheism), and discard the false gods and other deities]; so the Deluge overtook them while they were Zâlimûn (wrong doers, polytheists, disbelievers).

And We certainly sent Noah to his people, and he remained among them a thousand years minus fifty years, and the flood seized them while they were wrongdoers.

நூஹ் நபியை நம்முடைய தூதராக அவருடைய மக்களிடம் நாம் அனுப்பி வைத்தோம். அவர் ஐம்பது குறைய ஓராயிரம் வருடங்கள் அவர்களிடையே இருந்தார். (இவ்வளவு காலமிருந்தும் அவரை அவருடைய மக்களில் சிலரைத் தவிர பெரும் பாலானவர்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளவில்லை. இவ்வாறு) அவர்கள் அநியாயக்காரர்களாக இருந்ததனால் வெள்ளப்பிரளயம் அவர்களைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டது.

மேலும்: திடனாக நாம் நூஹை அவருடைய சமூகத்தாரிடம் அனுப்பினோம்; ஆக, அவர்கள் மத்தியில் அவர் ஐம்பது குறைய ஆயிரம் ஆண்டுகள் தங்கியிருந்தார்; ஆனால் அவர்கள் அநியாயக்காரர்களாக இருந்தமையால் அவர்களைப் பிரளயம் பிடித்துக் கொண்டது.

இன்னும், (நபி) நூஹை (நம்முடைய தூதராக) அவருடைய சமூகத்தார்பால் திட்டமாக நாம் அனுப்பிவைத்தோம், அவர் ஐம்பது ஆண்டுகள் நீங்கலாக ஓராயிரம் வருடங்கள் அவர்களிடையே தங்கியிருந்தார். பின்னர் அவர்கள் (விசுவாசங்கொள்ளாது) அநியாயக்காரர்களாக இருந்தநிலையில் வெள்ளப்பிரளயம் அவர்களைப் பிடித்துக் கொண்டது.

We sent Noah to his people, and he lived among them for a thousand years, less fifty. Then the Flood overtook them, while they persisted in wrongdoing.

Faanjaynahu waashaba alssafeenati wajaAAalnaha ayatan lilAAalameena

Then We saved him and those with him in the ship, and made it (the ship) an Ayâh (a lesson, a warning) for the 'آlamîn (mankind and jinn).

But We saved him and the companions of the ship, and We made it a sign for the worlds.

எனினும், அவரையும் அவருடைய கப்பலில் இருந்தவர்களையும் நாம் பாதுகாத்துக் கொண்டு இச்சம்பவத்தை உலகத்தாருக்கு நாம் ஒரு படிப்பினை ஆக்கினோம்.

(அப்போது) நாம் அவரையும், (அவருடன்) கப்பலில் இருந்தோரையும் காப்பாற்றினோம்; மேலும், அதை உலக மக்களுக்கு ஓர் அத்தாட்சியாகவும் ஆக்கினோம்.

பின்னர், அவரையும், (அவருடைய) கப்பல் தோழர்களையும் நாம் காப்பாற்றினோம், அ(ச்சம்பவத்)தை அகிலத்தார்க்கு ஓர் அத்தாட்சியாகவும் நாம் ஆக்கினோம்.

But We saved him and those who were in the Ark, and We made it a sign for all people.

Waibraheema ith qala liqawmihi oAAbudoo Allaha waittaqoohu thalikum khayrun lakum in kuntum taAAlamoona

And (remember) Ibrâhîm (Abraham) when he said to his people: "Worship Allâh (Alone), and fear Him, that is better for you if you did but know.

And [We sent] Abraham, when he said to his people, "Worship Allah and fear Him. That is best for you, if you should know.

இப்றாஹீமை (நம்முடைய தூதராக அவருடைய மக்களிடம் அனுப்பி வைத்த சமயத்தில்) அவர் தன்னுடைய மக்களை நோக்கி "நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ் ஒருவனையே வணங்கி அவனையே நீங்கள் அஞ்சி நடங்கள். (நீங்கள் சிந்தித்துப் பார்த்தால்) இதுவே உங்களுக்கு மிக்க நல்லதாகும்" என்பதை அறிந்து கொள்வீர்கள்.

இன்னும் இப்றாஹீமையும் (தூதராக நாம் அனுப்பினோம்); அவர் தம் சமூகத்தாரிடம்: “அல்லாஹ்வை நீங்கள் வணங்குங்கள்; அவனிடம் பயபக்தியுடன் இருங்கள்; நீங்கள் அறிந்தவர்களாக இருந்தால், இதுவே உங்களுக்கு நன்மையுடையதாக இருக்கும்” என்று கூறிய வேளையை (நபியே! நினைவூட்டுவீராக).

இப்றாஹீமையும் (நம்முடைய தூதராக அவருடைய ஜனங்களிடம் அனுப்பி வைத்த சமயத்தில்,) அவர், தன்னுடைய சமூகத்தார்க்கு “நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வை(யே) வணங்குங்கள், அவனுக்கே நீங்கள் பயப்படுங்கள், நீங்கள் அறிந்தவர்களாக இருந்தால் இதுவே உங்களுக்கு மிக்க நன்மையுடையதாக இருக்கும், (என்பதைத் தெரிந்து கொள்வீர்கள்)” என்று கூறியதை (நபியே! நினைவூட்டுவீராக!)

And [remember] Abraham, when he said to his people, “Worship Allah and fear Him; that is better for you, if only you knew.

Innama taAAbudoona min dooni Allahi awthanan watakhluqoona ifkan inna allatheena taAAbudoona min dooni Allahi la yamlikoona lakum rizqan faibtaghoo AAinda Allahi alrrizqa waoAAbudoohu waoshkuroo lahu ilayhi turjaAAoona

"You worship besides Allâh only idols, and you only invent falsehood. Verily, those whom you worship besides Allâh have no power to give you provision, so seek your provision from Allâh (Alone), and worship Him (Alone), and be grateful to Him. To Him (Alone) you will be brought back.

You only worship, besides Allah, idols, and you produce a falsehood. Indeed, those you worship besides Allah do not possess for you [the power of] provision. So seek from Allah provision and worship Him and be grateful to Him. To Him you will be returned."

தவிர, அல்லாஹ்வை அன்றி நீங்கள் வணங்கும் சிலைகளெல்லாம் நீங்கள் பொய்யாகக் கற்பனை செய்து கொண்டவைதாம். ஏனென்றால், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி நீங்கள் வணங்கும் இவை உங்களுக்கு உணவளிக்க சிறிதும் சக்தியற்றவை. ஆகவே, (உங்களுக்கு வேண்டிய) உணவை அல்லாஹ்விடமே கோரி, அவ(ன் ஒருவ)னையே வணங்கி, அவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தியும் வாருங்கள். அவனிடமே நீங்கள் கொண்டு செல்லப்படுவீர்கள்" என்றும் கூறினார்.

அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி, சிலைகளை வணங்குகிறீர்கள் - மேலும், நீங்கள் பொய்யைச் சிருஷ்டித்துக் கொண்டீர்கள்; நிச்சயமாக, அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர நீங்கள் வணங்கி வரும் இவை உங்களுக்கு ஆகார வசதிகள் அளிக்கச் சக்தியற்றவை; ஆதலால், நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்விடமே ஆகார வசதிகளைத் தேடுங்கள்; அவனையே வணங்குங்கள்; அவனுக்கே நன்றி செலுத்துங்கள்; அவனிடத்திலேயே நீங்கள் திரும்பக் கொண்டுவரப்படுவீர்கள்.

(தவிர,) “அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி நீங்கள் வணங்குவதெல்லாம் விக்கிரகங்களைத்தான், நீங்கள் பொய்யாக (உங்கள் கைகளால் அவைகளைப்) படைத்துக்கொண்டீர்கள். (ஏனென்றால்) நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி நீங்கள் வணங்குகின்றவை உங்களுக்கு உணவளிக்கச் சக்திபெறமாட்டா. ஆகவே, (உங்களுக்கு வேண்டிய) உணவை அல்லாஹ்விடமே தேடுங்கள். அவ(ன் ஒருவ)னையே வணங்குங்கள், அவனுக்கு நன்றியும் செலுத்துங்கள், அவன் பக்கமே நீங்கள் மீட்டப்படுவீர்கள்.

You worship nothing besides Allah but idols and fabricate lies. Those whom you worship besides Allah have no power to give you provision. So seek provision from Allah, worship Him, and be grateful to Him. To Him you will all be returned.

Wain tukaththiboo faqad kaththaba omamun min qablikum wama AAala alrrasooli illa albalaghu almubeenu

"And if you deny, then nations before you have denied (their Messengers). And the duty of the Messenger [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] is only to convey (the Message) plainly."

And if you [people] deny [the message] - already nations before you have denied. And there is not upon the Messenger except [the duty of] clear notification.

(இப்றாஹீமே! மக்களை நோக்கி நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்:) "நீங்கள் (என்னைப்) பொய்யாக்கினால் (அதைப் பற்றி எனக்குக் கவலையில்லை. ஏனென்றால்,) உங்களுக்கு முன்னுள்ள மக்களும் (தங்களிடம் வந்த தூதர்களை இவ்வாறே) பொய்யாக்கி இருக்கின்றனர். அவர் நம்முடைய தூதை (மக்களுக்கு)ப் பகிரங்கமாக எடுத்துரைப்பதை தவிர அவர்(களை நிர்ப்பந்திப்பது அத்தூதர்) மீது கடமையில்லை.

இன்னும் நீங்கள் பொய்ப்பிக்க முற்பட்டால் (தளர்ந்து போவதில்லை - ஏனெனில்) உங்களுக்கு முன்னிருந்த சமுதாயத்தவரும் (அவர்களுக்கு அனுப்பப்பட்ட தூதர்களை இவ்வாறே) பொய்ப்பிக்க முற்பட்டார்கள்; ஆகவே, (இறை) தூதரின் கடமை (தம் தூதை) பகிரங்கமாக எடுத்துரைப்பதன்றி (வேறு) இல்லை.”

“மேலும், நீங்கள் (என்னைப்) பொய்யக்கினால், (அதைப்பற்றி எனக்குக் கவலையில்லை. ஏனென்றால்,) உங்களுக்கு முன்னிருந்த சமுதாயத்தினர் (தூதர்களை இவ்வாறே) பொய்யாக்கியிருக்கின்றனர், (நம்) தூதரின் மீதோ பகிரங்கமாக எத்தி வைப்பதைத் தவிர (வேறு கடமை) இல்லை.

If you reject [the message], so did many nations reject before you. The duty of the Messenger is only to deliver the message clearly.”

Awalam yaraw kayfa yubdio Allahu alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu inna thalika AAala Allahi yaseerun

See they not how Allâh originates the creation, then repeats it. Verily, that is easy for Allâh.

Have they not considered how Allah begins creation and then repeats it? Indeed that, for Allah, is easy.

(ஒன்றுமில்லாதிருந்த) படைப்புகளை அல்லாஹ் எவ்வாறு ஆரம்பத்தில் வெளியாக்கினான் என்பதை அவர்கள் பார்க்க வில்லையா? (அவ்வாறே மரணித்த) பின்னரும் அவைகளை மீள வைப்பான். நிச்சயமாக இ(வ்வாறு செய்வ)து அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு மிக்க சுலபமானதே!" (என்றும் கூறினார்).

அல்லாஹ் எவ்வாறு முதலில் படைப்பைத் துவங்கிப் பிறகு (அதனை எவ்வாறு) தன்பால் மீட்டுகிறான் என்பதை அவர்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா? நிச்சயமாக இது அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு மிகவும் சுலபம்.

“அல்லாஹ் படைப்பை எவ்வாறு ஆரம்பத்தில் (படைக்கத்) துவங்குகிறான், (அவை அழிந்த) பின்னர் அதனை (எவ்வாறு) மீள வைக்கிறான் என்பதை அவர்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா? நிச்சயமாக இ(வ்வாறு செய்வ)து, அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு மிக்க சுலபமானதே!

Do they not see how Allah originates the creation then resurrects it? That is certainly easy for Allah.

Qul seeroo fee alardi faonthuroo kayfa badaa alkhalqa thumma Allahu yunshio alnnashata alakhirata inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

Say: "Travel in the land and see how (Allâh) originated the creation, and then Allâh will bring forth the creation of the Hereafter (i.e. resurrection after death). Verily, Allâh is Able to do all things."

Say, [O Muhammad], "Travel through the land and observe how He began creation. Then Allah will produce the final creation. Indeed Allah, over all things, is competent."

(பின்னும் மனிதர்களை நோக்கிக் கூறும்படி இப்றாஹீமுக்கு கட்டளையிட்டோம்.) பூமியில் நீங்கள் சுற்றித் திரிந்து பாருங்கள். ஆரம்பத்தில் படைப்புகளை எவ்வாறு உற்பத்தி செய்கிறான். (அவ்வாறே மரணித்த) பின்னரும் அல்லாஹ் (மறுமையில்) மறுமுறையும் உற்பத்தி செய்வான். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் அனைத்தின் மீதும் மிக்க ஆற்றலுள்ளவன்.

“பூமியில் நீங்கள் பிரயாணம் செய்து, அல்லாஹ் எவ்வாறு (முந்திய) படைப்பைத் துவங்கிப் பின்னர் பிந்திய படைப்பை எவ்வாறு உண்டு பண்ணுகிறான் என்பதைப் பாருங்கள்; நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் எல்லாப் பொருட்கள் மீதும் பேராற்றலுள்ளவன்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக.

“பூமியில் சுற்றித்திரிந்து, படைப்பை எவ்வாறு (ஆரம்பத்தில்) அவன் துவங்கி, பின்னர் அல்லாஹ் மற்றொரு உற்பத்தியை (எவ்வாறு) உண்டு பண்ணுகிறான், என்பதைப் பாருங்கள், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ், ஒவ்வொரு பொருளின் மீதும் மிக்க ஆற்றலுடையோன்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக.

Say, “Travel through the land and see how He originated the creation, then Allah will repeat it a second time. Indeed, Allah is Most Capable of all things.”

YuAAaththibu man yashao wayarhamu man yashao wailayhi tuqlaboona

He punishes whom He wills, and shows mercy to whom He wills; and to Him you will be returned.

He punishes whom He wills and has mercy upon whom He wills, and to Him you will be returned.

அவன் நாடியவர்களை வேதனை செய்வான்; அவன் நாடியவர்களுக்கு அருள் புரிவான். அவனளவிலேயே நீங்கள் திருப்பப்படுவீர்கள்."

தான் நாடியவரை அவன் வேதனை செய்கிறான்; இன்னும் தான் நாடியவருக்குக் கிருபை செய்கிறான் - (இறுதியில்) அவனிடமே நீங்கள் மீட்டப்படுவீர்கள்.

தான் நாடியவர்களை அவன் வேதனை செய்வான், தான் நாடியவர்களுக்கு அவன் கிருபையும் செய்வான்; (முடிவில்) அவனளவிலேயே நீங்கள் திருப்பப்படுவீர்கள்.

He punishes whom He wills and shows mercy to whom He wills, and to Him you will all be returned.

Wama antum bimuAAjizeena fee alardi wala fee alssamai wama lakum min dooni Allahi min waliyyin wala naseerin

And you cannot escape in the earth or in the heaven (from Allâh). And besides Allâh you have neither any Walî (Protector or Guardian) nor any Helper.

And you will not cause failure [to Allah] upon the earth or in the heaven. And you have not other than Allah any protector or any helper.

(அவன் உங்களை வேதனை செய்ய விரும்பினால்) வானத்திலோ பூமியிலோ (ஒளிந்து கொண்டு) நீங்கள் அவனைத் தோற்கடித்துவிட முடியாது. அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி உங்களுக்கு யாதொரு பாதுகாவலனுமில்லை; உதவி செய்பவனுமில்லை.

பூமியிலோ, வானத்திலோ நீங்கள் (அவனை) இயலாமல் ஆக்குபவர்களல்லர். மேலும், உங்களுக்கு அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி (வேறு) பாதுகாவலனோ, உதவியாளனோ இல்லை.  

பூமியிலோ, இன்னும் வானத்திலோ நீங்கள் (ஒளிந்து கொண்டு, அவனைத் தோற்கடித்து) இயலாமல் ஆக்கிவிடுபவர்கள் அல்லர், மேலும் அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி உங்களுக்கு (வேறு) பாதுகாவலனுமில்லை, உதவி செய்வோனுமில்லை.

You cannot escape [His punishment] on earth or in the heaven, and you have no protector or helper besides Allah.”

Waallatheena kafaroo biayati Allahi waliqaihi olaika yaisoo min rahmatee waolaika lahum AAathabun aleemun

And those who disbelieve in the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allâh and the Meeting with Him, it is they who have no hope of My Mercy, and it is they who will have a painful torment.

And the ones who disbelieve in the signs of Allah and the meeting with Him - those have despaired of My mercy, and they will have a painful punishment.

எவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வசனங்களை நிராகரித்து அவனைச் சந்திப்பதையும் மறுக்கின்றனரோ, அவர்கள் நம் கிருபையைப் பற்றி நம்பிக்கை இழந்துவிடுவார்கள். அவர்களுக்கு நிச்சயமாகத் துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையுண்டு.

இன்னும், எவர் அல்லாஹ்வின் வசனங்களையும், அவனைச் சந்திப்பதையும் நிராகரித்தார்களோ, அவர்கள் தாம் என் ரஹ்மத்தை விட்டு நிராசையானவர்கள்; மேலும், இ(த்தகைய)வர்களுக்கு நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனை உண்டு.

மேலும், அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வசனங்களையும், அவனை சந்திப்பதையும் மறுக்கின்றனரே அத்தகையோர்_அவர்கள் என் கிருபையை விட்டும் நிராசையாகி விட்டனர், மேலும் அத்தகையோர்_அவர்களுக்கு துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையுண்டு.

Those who disbelieve in Allah’s signs and the meeting with Him, it is they who will have no hope in My mercy, and for them there will be a painful punishment.

Fama kana jawaba qawmihi illa an qaloo oqtuloohu aw harriqoohu faanjahu Allahu mina alnnari inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yuminoona

So nothing was the answer of [Ibrâhîm's (Abraham's)] people except that they said: "Kill him or burn him." Then Allâh saved him from the fire. Verily, in this are indeed signs for a people who believe.

And the answer of Abraham's people was not but that they said, "Kill him or burn him," but Allah saved him from the fire. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.

(இவ்வாறெல்லாம் இப்றாஹீம் நபி தன்னுடைய மக்களுக்குக் கூறியதற்கு) அவர்கள் "இவரை வெட்டிவிடுங்கள்; அல்லது நெருப்பில் எரித்துவிடுங்கள்" என்று கூறியதைத் தவிர (வேறு விதத்தில்) பதில் கூற அவருடைய மக்களால் முடியாது போயிற்று. (பின்னர் இப்றாஹீமை நெருப்பில் எறிந்தார்கள்.) ஆகவே, (அந்) நெருப்பிலிருந்து அல்லாஹ் அவரை காப்பாற்றினான். நம்பிக்கை கொண்ட மக்களுக்கு நிச்சயமாக இதில் பல அத்தாட்சிகள் இருக்கின்றன.

இதற்கு அவருடைய சமூகத்தாரின் பதிலெல்லாம் “அவரைக் கொன்று விடுங்கள் அல்லது நெருப்பிலிட்டுப் பொசுக்குங்கள்” என்று கூறியதைத் தவிர வேறில்லை; ஆனால், அல்லாஹ் அவரை (அந்த) நெருப்பிலிருந்து ஈடேற்றினான்; நிச்சயமாக இதில், ஈமான் கொண்ட சமூகத்தோருக்கு தக்க அத்தாட்சிகள் இருக்கின்றன.

(இப்றாஹீமாகிய) அவரைக்கொன்றுவிடுங்கள், அல்லது (நெருப்பிலிட்டு) எரித்துவிடுங்கள்” என்று கூறியதைத்தவிர வேறு எதுவும் அவருடைய சமூகத்தாரின் பதிலாக இருக்கவில்லை, (அன்றியும் அவரை நெருப்பில் எறிந்தார்கள்.) ஆகவே (அந்) நெருப்பிலிருந்து அல்லாஹ் அவரை ஈடேற்றிக் கொண்டான், விசுவாசங்கொண்ட சமூகத்தார்க்கு நிச்சயமாக இதில் (பல) சான்றுகள் இருக்கின்றன.

His people’s only response was to say, “Kill him or burn him!” But Allah saved him from the fire. Indeed, there are signs in this for people who believe.

Waqala innama ittakhathtum min dooni Allahi awthanan mawaddata baynikum fee alhayati alddunya thumma yawma alqiyamati yakfuru baAAdukum bibaAAdin wayalAAanu baAAdukum baAAdan wamawakumu alnnaru wama lakum min nasireena

And [Ibrâhîm (Abraham)] said: "You have taken (for worship) idols instead of Allâh. The love between you is only in the life of this world, but on the Day of Resurrection, you shall disown each other, and curse each other, and your abode will be the Fire, and you shall have no helpers."

And [Abraham] said, "You have only taken, other than Allah, idols as [a bond of] affection among you in worldly life. Then on the Day of Resurrection you will deny one another and curse one another, and your refuge will be the Fire, and you will not have any helpers."

(பின்னும் இப்றாஹீம் அவர்களை நோக்கி) "நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வை அன்றி இந்த சிலைகளைத் தெய்வமாக எடுத்துக் கொண்டதற்கெல்லாம் இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையில் உங்களுக்கிடையில் (ஒருவருக்கு மற்றவருடன்) உள்ள சிநேக மனப்பான்மைதான் காரணமாகும். பின்னர், மறுமையிலோ உங்களில் ஒருவர் மற்றவரை நிராகரித்து விட்டு உங்களில் ஒருவர் மற்றவரை (நிந்தித்துச்) சபிப்பார். (முடிவில்) நீங்கள் அனைவரும் செல்லும் இடம் (நரகத்தின்) நெருப்புத்தான். அங்கு உங்களுக்கு உதவி செய்பவர்கள் ஒருவருமிரார்" என்று கூறினார்.

மேலும் (இப்றாஹீம்) சொன்னார்: “உலக வாழ்க்கையில் அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி (சிலரை) வணக்கத்திற்குரியவர்களாக நீங்கள் ஆக்கிக் கொண்டது (அவர்கள் மீது) உங்களிடையேயுள்ள நேசத்தின் காரணத்தினால்தான்; பின்னர் கியாம நாளன்று உங்களில் சிலர் சிலரை நிராகரிப்பார்கள்; உங்களில் சிலர் சிலரை சபித்துக் கொள்வர்; (இறுதியில்), நீங்கள் ஒதுங்குந்தலம் (நரக) நெருப்புத்தான்; (அங்கு) உங்களுக்கு உதவியாளர் எவருமில்லை.”

“நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி (இந்த) விக்கிரகங்களை(த் தெய்வமாக) எடுத்துக் கொண்டதெல்லாம் இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையில் உங்களுக்கிடையில் உள்ள நேசம் காரணமாகத்தான்; பின்னர், மறுமை நாளில் உங்களில் சிலர், சிலரை (விட்டும் நீங்கிக்கொண்டு) நிராகரிப்பர்; இன்னும் உங்களில் சிலர் சிலரை (நிந்தித்து) சபிப்பர்; (முடிவில்) உங்கள் (யாவரின்) தங்குமிடமும் (நரக) நெருப்புத்தான்; (அங்கு) உங்களுக்கு உதவி செய்வோர்களுமில்லை” என்றும் (இப்றாஹீம்) கூறினார்.

He said, “You have taken idols other than Allah as a means of love among yourselves in the life of this world, but on the Day of Resurrection you will disown and curse one another. Your abode will be the Fire, and you will have no helpers.”

Faamana lahu lootun waqala innee muhajirun ila rabbee innahu huwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu

So, Lût (Lot) believed in him [Ibrâhîm's (Abraham's) Message of Islâmic Monotheism]. He [Ibrâhîm (Abraham)] said: "I will emigrate for the sake of my Lord. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise."

And Lot believed him. [Abraham] said, "Indeed, I will emigrate to [the service of] my Lord. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

(இப்றாஹீம் இவ்வளவு கூறியும்) லூத் (நபி) ஒருவர் மட்டுமே அவரை நம்பிக்கை கொண்டார். (ஆகவே, இப்றாஹீம் அவரை நோக்கி) "நிச்சயமாக நான் என் இறைவனை நாடி (என்னுடைய இந்த ஊரை விட்டுச்) செல்கிறேன். நிச்சயமாக அவன் (அனைவரையும்) மிகைத்தவனும் ஞானமுடையவனாகவும் இருக்கிறான்" என்று கூறினார்.

(இதன் பின்னரும்) லூத் (மட்டுமே) அவர் மீது ஈமான் கொண்டார்; (அவரிடம் இப்றாஹீம்): “நிச்சயமாக நான் என் இறைவனை நாடி (இவ்வூரை விட்டு) ஹிஜ்ரத் செய்கிறேன்; நிச்சயமாக அவன் (யாவரையும்) மிகைத்தவன்; ஞானம் மிக்கவன்” என்று கூறினார்.

எனவே, (இப்றாஹீம் இவ்வளவு கூறியும்) லூத் (நபி மட்டும்) தான் அவரை விசுவாசித்தார். (ஆகவே, இப்றாஹீம் அவரிடம்) “நிச்சயமாக, நான் என் இரட்சகனின்பால் (என்னுடைய இந்த ஊரை விட்டும்) ஹிஜ்ரத்துச் செல்கிறேன், நிச்சயமாக அவன்தான் (யாவரையும்) மிகைத்தோன், தீர்க்கமான அறிவுடையோன்” என்று கூறினார்.

Lot believed in him, and Abraham said, “I am emigrating to my Lord. He is indeed the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.”

Wawahabna lahu ishaqa wayaAAqooba wajaAAalna fee thurriyyatihi alnnubuwwata waalkitaba waataynahu ajrahu fee alddunya wainnahu fee alakhirati lamina alssaliheena

And We bestowed on him [Ibrâhîm (Abraham)], Ishâq (Isaac) and Ya'qûb (Jacob), and We ordained among his offspring Prophethood and the Book [i.e. the Taurât (Torah) (to Mûsâ – Moses), the Injîl (Gospel) (to 'خsâ – Jesus), and the Qur'ân (to Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]), all from the offspring of Ibrâhîm (Abraham)], and We granted him his reward in this world; and verily, in the Hereafter he is indeed among the righteous.

And We gave to Him Isaac and Jacob and placed in his descendants prophethood and scripture. And We gave him his reward in this world, and indeed, he is in the Hereafter among the righteous.

ஆகவே, அவருக்கு இஸ்ஹாக்கையும், யஅகூபையும் (சந்ததிகளாகக்) கொடுத்து அவர்களுடைய சந்ததிகளுக்கே நபிப்பட்டத்தையும் வேதத்தையும் சொந்தமாக்கி, அவருக்கு அவருடைய கூலியை இம்மையிலும் கொடுத்தோம். மறுமையிலோ நிச்சயமாக அவர் நல்லோரில்தான் இருப்பார்.

மேலும், அவருக்கு இஸ்ஹாக்கையும், யஃகூபையும் அளித்தோம்; இன்னும் அவருடைய சந்ததியிலே, நபித்துவத்தையும், வேதத்தையும் ஏற்படுத்தினோம்; அவருக்கு அவருடைய கூலியை இவ்வுலகத்திலும் கொடுத்தோம்; நிச்சயமாக மறுமையில் அவர் நல்லவர்களில் ஒருவராவார்.

அன்றியும், அவருக்கு இஸ்ஹாக்கையும், யஃகூபையும் (சந்ததிகளாகக்) கொடுத்தோம்; இன்னும் அவருடைய சந்ததியில் நபித்துவத்தையும், வேதத்தையும் நாம் ஆக்கினோம்;அவருக்கு அவருடைய கூலியை இம்மையிலும் கொடுத்தோம்; இன்னும் நிச்சயமாக அவர் மறுமையிலும் நல்லோரில் உள்ளவராவார்.

We gave him Isaac and Jacob, and assigned prophethood and scripture to his offspring, and gave him his reward in this life, and in the Hereafter he will surely be among the righteous.

Walootan ith qala liqawmihi innakum latatoona alfahishata ma sabaqakum biha min ahadin mina alAAalameena

And (remember) Lût (Lot), when he said to his people: "You commit Al-Fâhishah (sodomy – the worst sin) which none has preceded you in (committing) it in the 'آlamîn (mankind and jinn)."

And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, "Indeed, you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds.

லூத்தையும் (நம்முடைய தூதராக அவருடைய மக்களிடம் அனுப்பி வைத்தோம்.) அவர் தன் மக்களை நோக்கி "உங்களுக்கு முன்னர் உலகில் (மனிதர்களில்) ஒருவருமே செய்திராத மானக்கேடான ஒரு காரியத்தை நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் செய்கின்றீர்கள்

மேலும், லூத்தை (அவர் சமூகத்தாரிடையே நபியாக அனுப்பி வைத்தோம்); அவர் தம் சமூகத்தாரிடம் கூறினார்: “நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் உலகத்தாரில் எவருமே உங்களுக்கு முன் செய்திராத மானக்கேடான ஒரு செயலை செய்ய முனைந்து விட்டீர்கள்.

மேலும், லூத்தை (நம்முடைய தூதராக அவர் சமூகத்தாரிடம் அனுப்பிவைத்தோம்); அவர் தம் சமூகத்தாரிடம் “மானக்கேடான (ஒரு காரியத்)தை, நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் செய்கின்றீர்கள்; உலகத்தாரில் எவரும் அதைக்கொண்டு உங்களை முந்தவில்லை” என்று கூறியதை (நினைவூட்டுவீராக).

And [remember] Lot, when he said to his people, “You surely commit a shameful act that no one in the world has ever done before you.

Ainnakum latatoona alrrijala wataqtaAAoona alssabeela watatoona fee nadeekumu almunkara fama kana jawaba qawmihi illa an qaloo itina biAAathabi Allahi in kunta mina alssadiqeena

"Verily, you practise sodomy with men, and rob the wayfarer (travellers)! And practise Al-Munkar (disbelief and polytheism and every kind of evil wicked deed) in your meetings." But his people gave no answer except that they said: "Bring Allâh's torment upon us if you are one of the truthful."

Indeed, you approach men and obstruct the road and commit in your meetings [every] evil." And the answer of his people was not but they said, "Bring us the punishment of Allah, if you should be of the truthful."

(பெண்களைவிட்டு) ஆண்களிடம் (மோகம் கொண்டு) செல்கின்றீர்கள்; (பயணிகளை) வழிமறித்துக் கொள்ளை அடிக்கின்றீர்கள். (மக்கள் நிறைந்த) உங்கள் சபைகளிலும் (பகிரங்கமாகவே) மிக்க வெறுக்கத்தக்க இக்காரியத்தைச் செய்கின்றீர்களே!" என்று கூறினார். அதற்கவர்கள் "மெய்யாகவே நீங்கள் உண்மை சொல்பவராக இருந்தால் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வேதனையை எங்களிடம் கொண்டு வாருங்கள்" என்று கூறியதைத் தவிர (வேறொன்றும்) அவருடைய மக்கள் கூறவில்லை.

நீங்கள் ஆண்களிடம் (மோகம் கொண்டு) வருகிறீர்களா? வழி மறி(த்துப் பிரயாணிகளைக் கொள்ளையடி)க்கவும் செய்கின்றீர்கள்; உங்களுடைய சபையிலும் வெறுக்கத்தக்கவற்றைச் செய்கின்றீர்கள்” என்று கூறினார்; அதற்கு அவருடைய சமூகத்தாரின் பதில்: “நீர் உண்மையாளரில் (ஒருவராக) இருப்பின் எங்கள் மீது அல்லாஹ்வின் வேதனையைக் கொண்டு வருவீராக” என்பது தவிர வேறு எதுவுமில்லை.

“நீங்கள் (பெண்களை விட்டு,) ஆண்களிடம் (மோகங்கொண்டவர்களாக) வருகின்றீர்களா? (இத்தீய செயலைக் கொண்டு பிரயாணிகளை) வழிமறிக்கவும் செய்கின்றீர்கள், (ஜனங்கள் நிறைந்த) உங்கள் சபையிலும் (பகிரங்கமாகவே மிக்க) வெறுக்கத்தக்க (இக்காரியத்)தைச் செய்யவருகிறீர்கள்” (என்றும் கூறினார்), அதற்கு, “நீர் உண்மையாளரில் (ஒருவராக) இருப்பின் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வேதனையை எங்களிடம் கொண்டுவாரும்” என்பதைத் தவிர (வேறு எதுவும்) அவருடைய சமூகத்தாரின் பதிலாக இருக்கவில்லை.

Do you approach men with lust, engage in highway robbery, and practice immoral acts in your gatherings?” But the only response his people gave was to say, “Bring us Allah’s punishment, if you are truthful.”

Qala rabbi onsurnee AAala alqawmi almufsideena

He said: "My Lord! Give me victory over the people who are Mufsidûn (those who commit great crimes and sins, oppressors, tyrants, mischief-makers, corrupters).

He said, "My Lord, support me against the corrupting people."

அதற்கவர் "என் இறைவனே! விஷமம் செய்யும் இந்த மக்களுக்கு விரோதமாக நீ எனக்கு உதவிபுரிவாயாக!" என்று பிரார்த்தித்தார்.

அப்போது அவர்: “என் இறைவனே! குழப்பம் செய்யும் இந்த சமூகத்தாருக்கு எதிராக எனக்கு நீ உதவி புரிவாயாக!” என்று (பிரார்த்தித்துக்) கூறினார்.  

(அதற்கு) அவர், “இரட்சகனே! குழப்பக்காரர்களான சமூகத்தார்க்கு எதிராக எனக்கு நீ உதவி புரிவாயாக!” என்று (பிரார்த்தித்துக்) கூறினார்.

He said, “My Lord, help me against people who spread corruption.”

Walamma jaat rusuluna ibraheema bialbushra qaloo inna muhlikoo ahli hathihi alqaryati inna ahlaha kanoo thalimeena

And when Our messengers came to Ibrâhîm (Abraham) with the glad tidings they said: "Verily, we are going to destroy the people of this [Lût (Lot's)] town (i.e. the town of Sodom in Palestine); truly, its people have been Zâlimûn [wrong doers, polytheists disobedient to Allâh, and who denied their Messenger Lût (Lot)]."

And when Our messengers came to Abraham with the good tidings, they said, "Indeed, we will destroy the people of that Lot's city. Indeed, its people have been wrongdoers."

(மலக்குகளாகிய) நம்முடைய தூதர்கள், இப்றாஹீமுக்கு (இஸ்மாயீல் நபியின் பிறப்பைப் பற்றி) நற்செய்தி கூற அவரிடம் வந்த சமயத்தில் (அவரை நோக்கி "லூத்துடைய) ஊராரை நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் அழித்து விடுவோம். ஏனென்றால், நிச்சயமாக அவ்வூரார் (பாவம் செய்வதில் எல்லை கடந்து) அநியாயக் காரர்களாக ஆகிவிட்டார்கள்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

நம் தூதர்(களாகிய மலக்கு)கள் இப்ராஹீமிடம் நன்மாராயத்துடன் வந்தபோது, “நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் இவ்வூராரை அழிக்கிறவர்கள்; ஏனெனில் நிச்சயமாக இவ்வூரார் அநியாயக்காரர்களாக இருக்கின்றனர்” எனக் கூறினார்கள்.

மேலும், நம்முடைய தூதர்கள் இப்றாஹீமிடம் நன்மாராயத்தைக் கொண்டு வந்த சமயத்தில், (அவரிடம், “லூத்துடைய) இந்த ஊர்வாசிகளை நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் அழிக்கக் கூடியவர்களாக உள்ளோம், (ஏனென்றால்) நிச்சயமாக இவ்வூரைச் சேர்ந்தோர் அநியாயக்காரர்களாக இருக்கிறார்கள்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

When Our angel-messengers came to Abraham with glad tidings, they said, “We are going to destroy the people of this town, for its people have been persisting in wickedness.”

Qala inna feeha lootan qaloo nahnu aAAlamu biman feeha lanunajjiyannahu waahlahu illa imraatahu kanat mina alghabireena

Ibrâhîm (Abraham) said: "But there is Lût (Lot) in it." They said: "We know better who is there. We will verily save him [Lût (Lot)] and his family – except his wife, she will be of those who remain behind (i.e. she will be destroyed along with those who will be destroyed from her folk)."

[Abraham] said, "Indeed, within it is Lot." They said, "We are more knowing of who is within it. We will surely save him and his family, except his wife. She is to be of those who remain behind."

அதற்கவர் (அம்மலக்குகளை நோக்கி) "நிச்சயமாக அதில் லூத்தும் இருக்கின்றாரே!" என்று கூறினார். அதற்கவர்கள் "அதில் இருப்பவர்கள் யார் என்பதை நாங்கள் நன்கறிவோம். அவரையும் அவருடைய குடும்பத்தாரையும் நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் பாதுகாத்துக் கொள்வோம். அவருடைய மனைவி (அவருடன் செல்லாது அழிந்து போகக் கூடிய அவ்வூராருடன்) தங்கி (அவர்களுடன் அவளும் அழிந்து) விடுவாள்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

“நிச்சயமாக அவ்வூரில் லூத்தும் இருக்கிறாரே” என்று (இப்றாஹீம்) கூறினார்; (அதற்கு) அவர்கள் அதில் இருப்பவர்கள் யார் என்பதை நாங்கள் நன்கறிவோம்; எனவே நாங்கள் அவரையும்; அவருடைய மனைவியைத் தவிர, அவர் குடும்பத்தாரையும் நிச்சயமாகக் காப்பாற்றுவோம்; அவள் (அழிந்து போவோரில் ஒருத்தியாக) தங்கி விடுவாள் என்று சொன்னார்கள்.

அ(தற்க)வர், “நிச்சயமாக அதில் லூத் இருக்கின்றாரே” என்று கூறினார், (அதற்கு) அவர்கள், அதில் யார் இருக்கிறார்கள் என்பதை நாங்கள் நன்கறிவோம், அவருடைய மனைவியைத் தவிர அவரையும், அவருடைய குடும்பத்தாரையும் நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் காப்பாற்றுவோம், (அவர் மனைவியாகிய) அவள் (அழிக்கப்படுவோரில் ஒருத்தியாக) தங்கி விடுகிறவர்களில் ஆகிவிட்டாள்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

He said, “But Lot is there!” They said, “We know well who is there. We will surely save him and his family, except his wife; she is one of those who will remain behind.”

Walamma an jaat rusuluna lootan seea bihim wadaqa bihim tharAAan waqaloo la takhaf wala tahzan inna munajjooka waahlaka illa imraataka kanat mina alghabireena

And when Our messengers came to Lût (Lot), he was grieved because of them, and felt straitened on their account. They said: "Have no fear, and do not grieve! Truly, we shall save you and your family, – except your wife, she will be of those who remain behind (i.e. she will be destroyed along with those who will be destroyed from her folk).

And when Our messengers came to Lot, he was distressed for them and felt for them great discomfort. They said, "Fear not, nor grieve. Indeed, we will save you and your family, except your wife; she is to be of those who remain behind.

பின்னர் நம்முடைய (அத்)தூதர்கள் லூத் (நபி) இடம் வந்தபொழுது, (அவ்வூரார் தீய எண்ணத்துடன் அவர்களைத் துரத்திக் கொண்டு வந்தார்கள். அப்போது) அவர், (அந்த மலக்குகளை பாதுகாத்துகொள்ள) தன் கையால் ஒன்றும் செய்ய முடியாமல், அவர்களுக்காகத் துக்கித்தார். அதற்கவர்கள், (அவரை நோக்கி) "நீங்கள் அஞ்ச வேண்டாம்; துக்கிக்கவும் வேண்டாம். (நாம் இவ்வூராரை அழித்துவிட உங்கள் இறைவனால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட மலக்குகளாவோம்.) நிச்சயமாக நாம் உங்களையும், உங்களுடைய மனைவியைத் தவிர, உங்களது குடும்பத்தினரையும் பாதுகாத்துக் கொள்வோம். அவள் (உங்களுடன் வராது, இவ்வூராருடன்) தங்கி (அழிந்து) விடுவாள்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

இன்னும் நம் தூதர்கள் லூத்திடம் வந்த போது அவர்களின் காரணமாக அவர் கவலை கொண்டார். மேலும் அவர்களால் (வருகையால்) சங்கடப்பட்டார்; அவர்கள் “நீர் பயப்படவேண்டாம், கவலையும் படவேண்டாம்” என்று கூறினார்கள். நிச்சயமாக நாம் உம்மையும் உன் மனைவியைத் தவிர உம் குடும்பத்தினரையும் காப்பாற்றுவோம்; அவள் (உம்மனைவி அழிந்து போவோரில் ஒருத்தியாக) பின் தங்கி விடுவாள்.

இன்னும் நம்முடைய (அத்)தூதர்கள் (நபி) லூத்திடம் வந்த பொழுது அவர், (தம் ஜனங்களிடமிருந்து எவ்வாறு இவர்களைப் பாதுகாப்பது என்று) அவர்களால் துக்கத்திலாக்கபட்டார். மேலும், (அவர்களைக் காப்பதற்கு வழியறியாது) அவர்களால் மனதில் நெருக்கடிக்குள்ளானார், அ(தற்க)வர்கள் “நீர் அஞ்ச வேண்டாம், கவலையும்பட வேண்டாம், நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் (இவ்வூரை அழித்துவிட்டு) உம்முடைய மனைவியைத் தவிர, உம்மையும், உமது குடும்பத்தினரையும் காப்பாற்றக்கூடியவர்களாக உள்ளோம், (உம் மனைவியாகிய) அவள் (அழிந்து போவோரில் ஒருத்தியாக) தங்கி விடுகிறவர்களில் ஆகிவிட்டாள்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

When Our angel-messengers came to Lot, he was distressed by their coming and felt troubled on their account, but they said, “Do not fear nor grieve; we will surely save you and your family, except your wife; she is one of those who will remain behind.”

Inna munziloona AAala ahli hathihi alqaryati rijzan mina alssamai bima kanoo yafsuqoona

"Verily, we are about to bring down on the people of this town a great torment from the sky, because they have been rebellious (against Allâh's Command)."

Indeed, we will bring down on the people of this city punishment from the sky because they have been defiantly disobedient."

"அன்றி, இவ்வூரார் செய்து கொண்டிருக்கும் பாவத்தின் காரணமாக நிச்சயமாக நாம் இவர்கள்மீது வானத்திலிருந்து வேதனையை இறக்கி வைப்போம்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

நிச்சயமாக, நாங்கள் இவ்வூரார் மீது, இவர்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருக்கும் பாவத்தின் காரணமாக, வானத்திலிருந்து வேதனையை இறக்குகிறவர்கள் ஆவோம்.

“நிச்சயமாக, நாங்கள் இவ்வூரார் மீது இவர்கள் பாவம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்ததன் காரணமாக வானத்திலிருந்து வேதனையை இறக்கி வைப்பவர்களாக இருகின்றோம்” (என்றும் கூறினார்கள்).

We will surely send down on the people of this town a scourge from the heaven because of their evildoing.”

Walaqad tarakna minha ayatan bayyinatan liqawmin yaAAqiloona

And indeed We have left thereof an evident Ayâh (a lesson and a warning and a sign – the place where the Dead Sea is now in Palestine) for a folk who understand.

And We have certainly left of it a sign as clear evidence for a people who use reason.

(பின்னர், மலக்குகள் கூறியவாறே அவர்கள் மீது வேதனை இறங்கி அவர்கள் அனைவரும் அழிந்துவிட்டனர்.) நிச்சயமாக நாம் அறிவுடைய மக்களுக்குத் தெளிவான அத்தாட்சியை (இன்றளவும்) அவர்களிருந்த ஊரில் விட்டு வைத்திருக்கின்றோம்.

(அவ்வாறே அவ்வூரார், அழிந்தனர்) அறிவுள்ள சமூகத்தாருக்கு இதிலிருந்தும் நாம் ஒரு தெளிவான அத்தாட்சியை விட்டு வைத்துள்ளோம்.

(பின்னர், அவர்கள் யாவரும் அழிக்கப்பட்டுவிட்டனர்.) திட்டமாக நாம், அறிவுடைய சமூகத்தாருக்கு அதிலிருந்தும் தெளிவான அத்தாட்சியை விட்டு வைத்திருக்கின்றோம்.

We surely left some of its ruins as a clear sign for people of understanding.

Waila madyana akhahum shuAAayban faqala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha waorjoo alyawma alakhira wala taAAthaw fee alardi mufsideena

And to (the people of) Madyan (Midian), We sent their brother Shu'aib. He said: "O my people! Worship Allâh (Alone) and hope for (the reward of good deeds by worshipping Allâh Alone, on) the last Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection), and commit no mischief on the earth as Mufsidûn (those who commit great crimes, oppressors, tyrants, mischief-makers, corrupters). (Tafsir At-Tabari)

And to Madyan [We sent] their brother Shu'ayb, and he said, "O my people, worship Allah and expect the Last Day and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption."

மத்யன்வாசிகளுக்கு அவர்களுடைய சகோதரர் ஷுஐபை (நாம் நம்முடைய தூதராக அனுப்பி வைத்தோம். அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி) "என்னுடைய மக்களே! நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ் ஒருவனையே வணங்குங்கள். இறுதி நாளை எதிர்பார்த்திருங்கள். பூமியில் விஷமம் செய்து கொண்டு அலையாதீர்கள்" என்று கூறினார்.

மேலும், மத்யன் (ஊராருக்கு) அவர்கள் சகோதரராகிய ஷுஐபை (அனுப்பி வைத்தோம்); ஆகவே அவர்: “என் சமூகத்தாரே! அல்லாஹ்வையே வணங்குங்கள்; இறுதி நாளை (நம்பி) எதிர்பாருங்கள், மேலும், பூமியில் குழப்பம் செய்வோராக, (விஷமிகளாகத்) திரியாதீர்கள்” என்று கூறினார்.

மேலும், மத்யன் (வாசிகள்) பால் அவர்களுடைய சகோதரர் ஷூஐபை (நாம் நம்முடைய தூதராக அனுப்பி வைத்தோம்); பின்னர் அவர், “என் சமூகத்தாரே! நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வை வணங்குங்கள், (உங்கள் வழிபாட்டின் பலனைப் பெற) இறுதி நாளையும் ஆதரவு வையுங்கள்; பூமியில் விஷமம் செய்வோராகவும் அலையாதீர்கள்” என்று கூறினார்.

To the people of Midian we sent their brother Shu‘ayb. He said, “O my people, worship Allah and expect the Last Day, and do not go about spreading corruption in the land.”

Fakaththaboohu faakhathathumu alrrajfatu faasbahoo fee darihim jathimeena

And they denied him (Shu'aib); so the earthquake seized them, and they lay (dead), prostrate in their dwellings.

But they denied him, so the earthquake seized them, and they became within their home [corpses] fallen prone.

எனினும், அவர்கள் அவரைப் பொய்யாக்கினார்கள். ஆதலால், அவர்களைப் பூகம்பம் பிடித்துக்கொண்டது. எனவே, அவர்கள் தங்கள் வீடுகளில் இருந்தவாறே இறந்துவிட்டனர்.

எனினும் அவர்கள் அவரைப் பொய்ப்பித்தார்கள்; ஆதலால் அவர்களைப் பூகம்பம் பிடித்துக் கொண்டது; ஆகவே, அவர்கள் தம் வீடுகளில் அதிகாலையில் (மரித்து) முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து கிடந்தார்கள்.

பின்னர், அவர்கள் அவரைப் பொய்ப்படுத்தினார்கள், ஆதலால் பூகம்பம் அவர்களை பிடித்து கொண்டது, ஆகவே அவர்கள் தங்கள் வீடுகளில் முகங்குப்புற வீழ்ந்து (இறந்து) கிடந்தவர்களாக காலைப் பொழுதை அடைந்தனர்.

But they rejected him, so an earthquake seized them and they fell lifeless in their homes.

WaAAadan wathamooda waqad tabayyana lakum min masakinihim wazayyana lahumu alshshaytanu aAAmalahum fasaddahum AAani alssabeeli wakanoo mustabsireena

And 'آd and Thamûd (people)! And indeed (their destruction) is clearly apparent to you from their (ruined) dwellings. Shaitân (Satan) made their deeds fair-seeming to them, and turned them away from the (Right) Path, though they were intelligent.

And [We destroyed] 'Aad and Thamud, and it has become clear to you from their [ruined] dwellings. And Satan had made pleasing to them their deeds and averted them from the path, and they were endowed with perception.

அன்றி, இவ்வாறே ஆது, ஸமூது கூட்டத்தினரையும் (அவர்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்த பாவத்தின் காரணமாக) நாம் அழித்து விட்டோம். (நீங்கள் போக வர உள்ள வழியில்) அவர்கள் இருந்த இடங்கள் உங்களுக்கு நன்றாகவே தென்படுகின்றன. இவர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் அவர்களுடைய (பாவச்) செயலையே ஷைத்தான் அழகாகக் காண்பித்து, நேரான வழியில் செல்லாது அவர்களைத் தடுத்துக் கொண்டான். அவர்கள் நல்லறிவுடையவர் களாகத்தான் இருந்தார்கள். (ஷைத்தானுடைய வலையில் சிக்கி இக்கதிக்கு ஆளானார்கள்.)

இவ்வாறே, ஆது, ஸமூது (சமூகத்தாரையும் அழித்தோம்); அன்றியும் அவர்கள் வசித்த இடங்களிலிருந்து (ஒரு சில சின்னங்கள்) உங்களுக்குத் தெளிவாக தென்படுகின்றன; ஏனெனில் ஷைத்தான் அவர்களுடைய (தீச்)செயல்களை அவர்களுக்கு அழகாகக் காண்பித்து அவர்கள் நல்லறிவு படைத்தவர்களாக இருந்தும், அவர்களை நேர்வழியில் (போக விடாது) தடுத்து விட்டான்.

மேலும், ஆதையும், ஸமூதையும் (இவ்வாறே நாம் அழித்து விட்டோம்); அவர்கள் வாழ்ந்திருந்த இடங்(களில் உள்ள சின்னங்)களிலிருந்து, (அவர்கள் அடைந்த முடிவு) உங்களுக்குத் திட்டமாக தெளிவாகிவிட்டது. அவர்களுடைய செயல்களை ஷைத்தான் அவர்களுக்கு அலங்காரமாக்கியும் காண்பித்தான்; ஆகவே, அவர்கள் நல்லறிவுடையோர்களாக இருந்தும் (நேர்) வழியை விட்டும் அவன் அவர்களைத் தடுத்துவிட்டான்.

And [We destroyed] ‘Ād and Thamūd, which is clear to you from their ruined dwellings. Satan made their deeds appealing to them and averted them from the right way, although they were a people of perception.

Waqaroona wafirAAawna wahamana walaqad jaahum moosa bialbayyinati faistakbaroo fee alardi wama kanoo sabiqeena

And (We destroyed also) Qârûn (Korah), Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and Hâmân. And indeed Mûsâ (Moses) came to them with clear Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), but they were arrogant in the land, yet they could not outstrip Us (escape Our punishment).

And [We destroyed] Qarun and Pharaoh and Haman. And Moses had already come to them with clear evidences, and they were arrogant in the land, but they were not outrunners [of Our punishment].

காரூனையும், ஃபிர்அவ்னையும், ஹாமானையும் (நாம் இவ்வாறே அழித்துவிட்டோம்.) நிச்சயமாக மூஸா இவர்களிடம் தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகளையே கொண்டு வந்திருந்தார். எனினும், இவர்கள் (அவைகளை நிராகரித்து விட்டுப்) பூமியில் பெருமை கொண்டு நடந்ததினால் (நம் வேதனைக்கு உள்ளானார்கள். அதில் இருந்து) அவர்கள் தப்பித்துக்கொள்ள முடியவில்லை.

இன்னும் ஃகாரூனையும், ஃபிர்அவ்னையும், ஹாமானையும் (அழித்தோம்); திடனாக, அவர்களிடம் மூஸா தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகளுடன் வந்தார்; எனினும், (அவற்றை நிராகரித்து) அவர்கள் பூமியில் பெருமையடித்து நின்றார்கள். ஆனால் அவர்கள் (அழிவிலிருந்து) தப்பித்தார்களில்லை.

காரூனையும், ஃபிர் அவ்னையும், ஹாமானையும் (நாம் அழித்து விட்டோம்), நிச்சயமாக மூஸா, அவர்களிடம் தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகளைக் கொண்டு வந்திருந்தார், பின்னர் அவர்கள் (அவரை நிராகரித்து விட்டு,) பூமியில் பெருமை கொண்டு நடந்தனர், (அதனால் நம் வேதனையிலிருந்து) அவர்கள் தப்பித்துக் கொள்பவர்களாகவும் இருக்கவில்லை.

And [We also destroyed] Korah, Pharaoh and Hāmān. Moses came to them with clear signs, but they showed arrogance in the land, yet they could not escape [Us].

Fakullan akhathna bithanbihi faminhum man arsalna AAalayhi hasiban waminhum man akhathathu alssayhatu waminhum man khasafna bihi alarda waminhum man aghraqna wama kana Allahu liyathlimahum walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona

So, We punished each (of them) for his sins, of them were some on whom We sent Hâsib (a violent wind with shower of stones) [as on the people of Lût (Lot)], and of them were some who were overtaken by As-Saihah [torment – awful cry, (as Thamûd or Shu'aib's people)], and of them were some whom We caused the earth to swallow [as Qârûn (Korah)], and of them were some whom We drowned [as the people of Nûh (Noah), or Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his people]. It was not Allâh Who wronged them, but they wronged themselves.

So each We seized for his sin; and among them were those upon whom We sent a storm of stones, and among them were those who were seized by the blast [from the sky], and among them were those whom We caused the earth to swallow, and among them were those whom We drowned. And Allah would not have wronged them, but it was they who were wronging themselves.

அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரையும் அவர்கள் (செய்து கொண்டிருந்த) பாவத்தின் காரணமாகவே நாம் பிடித்துக் கொண்டோம். அவர்களில் (ஆது மக்களைப் போன்ற) சிலர் மீது நாம் கல்மழை பொழிந்தோம். அவர்களில் (ஸமூது மக்களைப் போன்ற) சிலரை இடிமுழக்கம் பிடித்துக் கொண்டது. அவர்களில் (காரூன் போன்ற) சிலரை நாம் பூமியில் ஆழ்த்திவிட்டோம். அவர்களில் (ஃபிர்அவ்ன், ஹாமான் போன்ற) சிலரை (கடலில்) மூழ்கடித்தோம். அல்லாஹ் இவர்களுக்கு அநீதி செய்யவில்லை. எனினும், அவர்கள் (அனைவரும்) தமக்குத்தாமே தீங்கிழைத்துக் கொண்டனர்.

இவ்வாறு, நாம் ஒவ்வொருவரையும் அவரவர் செய்த பாவத்தின் காரணமாகப் பிடித்தோம்; அவர்களில் சிலர் மீது கடும்புயல் மூலமாக கல்மாரியை அனுப்பினோம்; அவர்களில் சிலரை பேரிடி முழக்கம் பிடித்துக் கொண்டது; அவர்களில் சிலரைப் பூமியினுள் அழுந்தச் செய்தோம்; அவர்களில் சிலரை மூழ்கடித்தோம்; ஆனால் அல்லாஹ் அவர்களுக்கு அநியாயம் செய்வதற்காக இருக்கவில்லை; அவர்கள் தமக்குத் தாமே அநியாயம் செய்து கொண்டார்கள்.

ஆகவே, (அவர்கள்) ஒவ்வொருவரையும், அவருடைய பாவத்தின் காரணமாக நாம் பிடித்துக்கொண்டோம், அவர்களில் எவர் மீது (கடும்புயல்காற்றின் மூலமாக) நாம் கல்மாரியை அனுப்பினோமோ அவர்களும் உள்ளனர், மேலும், அவர்களில் எவரைப் பேரிடி முழக்கம் பிடித்துக் கொண்டதோ அவர்களும் உள்ளனர், இன்னும், அவர்களில் (காரூன் போன்று) எவரைப் பூமிக்குள் நாம் அழுந்தச் செய்துவிட்டோமோ அவர்களும் உள்ளனர், மேலும், அவர்களில் (ஃபிர் அவ்ன், ஹாமான் போன்று கடலில்) நாம் மூழ்கடித்தவர்களும் உள்ளனர், அல்லாஹ் அவர்களுக்கு அநியாயம் செய்வதற்காக இருக்கவில்லை, எனினும், அவர்கள் தங்களுக்குத் தாமே அநியாயம் இழைத்துக் கொள்பவர்களாக இருந்தனர்.

Each of them We seized for their sin: against some of them We sent a storm of stones; some were seized by a blast; some We caused the earth to swallow; and some We drowned. It was not Allah Who wronged them, but it was they who wronged themselves.

Mathalu allatheena ittakhathoo min dooni Allahi awliyaa kamathali alAAankabooti ittakhathat baytan wainna awhana albuyooti labaytu alAAankabooti law kanoo yaAAlamoona

The likeness of those who take (false deities as) Auliyâ' (protectors, helpers) other than Allâh is the likeness of a spider who builds (for itself) a house; but verily, the frailest (weakest) of houses is the spider's house – if they but knew.

The example of those who take allies other than Allah is like that of the spider who takes a home. And indeed, the weakest of homes is the home of the spider, if they only knew.

அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி (மற்றவைகளைத் தங்களுக்கு) பாதுகாவலர்களாக எடுத்துக் கொண்டவர்களின் உதாரணம்: நூலாம் பூச்சி கட்டிய வீட்டை(த் தாங்கள் வசிக்க எடுத்துக் கொண்டவர்களின் உதாரணத்தை) ஒத்திருக்கின்றது. வீடுகளில் எல்லாம் மிக்க பலவீனமானது நிச்சயமாக நூலாம் பூச்சியின் வீடுதான். (நூலாம் பூச்சியின் வீடு இவர்களை எவ்வாறு பாதுகாக்க முடியாதோ அவ்வாறே இவர்கள் தங்களுக்கு பாதுகாவலர்களாக எடுத்துக் கொண்ட தெய்வங்களாலும் இவர்களை பாதுகாக்க முடியாது. இதை) அவர்கள் அறிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டுமே!

அல்லாஹ் அல்லாதவற்றை(த் தங்களுக்குப்) பாதுகாவலர்களாக எடுத்துக் கொள்பவர்களுக்கு உதாரணம் சிலந்திப் பூச்சியின் உதாரணம் போன்றது; அது (தனக்காக) ஒரு வீட்டைக் கட்டியது; ஆனால் நிச்சயமாக வீடுகளிலெல்லாம் மிகவும் பலஹீனமானது சிலந்திப்பூச்சியின் வீடேயாகும் - இதை அவர்கள் அறிந்து கொண்டிருப்பார்களாயின் (தாங்கள் இணையாக எடுத்துக் கொண்டவற்றின் பலஹீனத்தை அறிவார்கள்).

அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி (மற்றவர்களைத் தங்களுக்குப்) பாதுகாவலர்களாக எடுத்து கொண்டவர்களுக்கு உதாரணம் சிலந்திப்பூச்சியின் உதாரணத்தைப் போன்றதாகும்; அது ஒரு வீட்டை எடுத்து கொண்டது, இன்னும், நிச்சயமாக வீடுகளில் மிகப்பலவீனமானது சிலந்திப் பூச்சியின் வீடாகும்; (இதை) அவர்கள் அறிவார்களாயின் (தாங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி மற்றவர்களைப் பாதுகாவலர்களாக எடுத்துக் கொண்டதன் தீமையை அறிவர்.)

The likeness of those who take protectors other than Allah is that of a spider spinning a house. Indeed, the flimsiest of houses is the house of a spider, if only they knew.

Inna Allaha yaAAlamu ma yadAAoona min doonihi min shayin wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu

Verily, Allâh knows what things they invoke instead of Him. He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

Indeed, Allah knows whatever thing they call upon other than Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி அவர்கள் எவைகளை (இறைவனென) அழைக்கின்றார்களோ, அவைகளை நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நன்கறிவான். (அவைகளுக்கு யாதொரு சக்தியுமில்லை; அறிவும் இல்லை.) அவன்தான் (அனைவரையும்) மிகைத்தவனும் ஞானமுடையவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி அவர்கள் எதை (நாயனென) அழைக்கிறார்களோ, அதை அவன் அறிகிறான் - இன்னும் அவன் (யாவரையும்) மிகைத்தவன்; ஞானம் மிக்கவன்.

அவனையன்றி அவர்கள் எதனை அழைக்கின்றார்களோ, அதனை நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நன்கு அறிவான், மேலும் அவன் (யாவரையும்) மிகைத்தவன், தீர்க்கமான அறிவுடையவன்.

Allah knows whatever they call upon besides Him. He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

Watilka alamthalu nadribuha lilnnasi wama yaAAqiluha illa alAAalimoona

And these similitudes We put forward for mankind; but none will understand them except those who have knowledge (of Allâh and His Signs).

And these examples We present to the people, but none will understand them except those of knowledge.

மனிதர்களுக்காகவே இவ்வுதாரணங்களை நாம் கூறுகிறோம். (சிந்தித்து அறியக்கூடிய) ஞானமுடையவர்களைத் தவிர (மற்றெவரும்) இதனை உணர்ந்து கொள்ள மாட்டார்கள்.

இவ்வுதாரணங்களை நாம் மனிதர்களுக்காக விளக்கி வைக்கிறோம் - ஆனால் இவற்றை சிந்தித்தறிவோர் தவிர வேறெவரும் உணர்ந்து கொள்ள மாட்டார்கள்.

மேலும், இவ்வுதாரணங்கள் _மனிதர்களுக்காக இவற்றை நாம் கூறுகிறோம், (சிந்தித்தறியக்கூடிய) அறிவுடையவர்களைத் தவிர, (மற்றெவரும்) இதனை விளங்கிக்கொள்ளவுமாட்டார்கள்.

Such are the comparisons We set forth for people, but none will understand them except the people of knowledge.

Khalaqa Allahu alssamawati waalarda bialhaqqi inna fee thalika laayatan lilmumineena

(Allâh says to His Prophet Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "Allâh (Alone) created the heavens and the earth with truth (and none shared with Him in their creation)." Verily therein is surely a sign for those who believe.

Allah created the heavens and the earth in truth. Indeed in that is a sign for the believers.

வானங்களையும் பூமியையும் படைத்தவன் மெய்யாகவே அல்லாஹ்தான். (வேறொருவருமன்று.) நம்பிக்கை கொண்டவர் களுக்கு நிச்சயமாக இவைகளிலும் (பல) அத்தாட்சி(கள்) இருக்கின்றன.

வானங்களையும், பூமியையும் அல்லாஹ் உண்மையைக் கொண்டே படைத்துள்ளான் - நிச்சயமாக இதில் முஃமின்களுக்கு அத்தாட்சி இருக்கிறது.  

வானங்களையும், பூமியையும் அல்லாஹ் உண்மையைக் கொண்டு படைத்தான் விசுவாசங்கொண்டோருக்கு நிச்சயமாக இதில் ஓர் அத்தாட்சி இருக்கின்றது.

Allah created the heavens and earth for a true purpose. Indeed, there is a sign in this for the believers.

Otlu ma oohiya ilayka mina alkitabi waaqimi alssalata inna alssalata tanha AAani alfahshai waalmunkari walathikru Allahi akbaru waAllahu yaAAlamu ma tasnaAAoona

Recite (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) what has been revealed to you of the Book (the Qur'ân), and perform As-Salât (the prayers). Verily, As-Salât (the prayer) prevents from Al-Fahshâ' (i.e. great sins of every kind, unlawful sexual intercourse) and Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism, and every kind of evil wicked deed) and the remembering (praising) of (you by) Allâh (in front of the angels) is greater indeed [than your remembering (praising) of Allâh in prayers]. And Allâh knows what you do.

Recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows that which you do.

(நபியே!) வஹ்யி மூலம் உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட இவ்வேதத்தை (மக்களுக்கு) நீங்கள் ஓதிக் காண்பித்து தொழுகையைக் கடைப்பிடித்து வாருங்கள். ஏனென்றால், நிச்சயமாகத் தொழுகை மானக்கேடான காரியங்களிலிருந்தும். பாவங்களிலிருந்தும் (மனிதனை) விலக்கிவிடும். அல்லாஹ்வை (மறக்காது நினைவில் வைத்து, அவனை) திக்ரு செய்து வருவது மிகமிகப் பெரிய காரியம். நீங்கள் செய்பவைகளை அல்லாஹ் நன்கறிவான். (ஆதலால், இவைகளுக்குரிய கூலியை நீங்கள் அடைந்தே தீருவீர்கள்).

(நபியே!) இவ்வேதத்திலிருந்து உமக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டதை நீர் எடுத்தோதுவீராக; இன்னும் தொழுகையை நிலை நிறுத்துவீராக; நிச்சயமாக தொழுகை (மனிதரை) மானக்கேடானவற்றையும் தீமையையும் விட்டு விலக்கும். நிச்சயமாக, அல்லாஹ்வின் திக்ரு (தியானம்) மிகவும் பெரிதா(ன சக்தியா)கும்; அன்றியும் அல்லாஹ் நீங்கள் செய்பவற்றை நன்கறிகிறான்.

(நபியே! குர் ஆனாகிய) இவ்வேதத்திலிருந்து உமக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டதை நீர் ஓதுவீராக, தொழுகையும் (அல்லாஹ் விதியாக்கியவாறு) நிறைவேற்றுவீராக, நிச்சயமாக தொழுகை, (அதை நிறைவேற்றுபவரை) மானக்கேடான செயலிலிருந்தும், (மார்க்கத்தில்) மறுக்கப்பட்டதிலிருந்தும் தடுக்கும். நிச்சயமாக (தொழுகையின் மூலம்) அல்லாஹ்வை நினைவு கூருவது (எல்லாவற்றையும் விட) மிகவும் பெரியதாகும், இன்னும், நீங்கள் செய்பவைகளை அல்லாஹ் நன்கு அறிகிறான்.

Recite [O Prophet] what is revealed to you of the Book, and establish prayer, for indeed prayer restrains one from immoral acts and wickedness. Indeed, the remembrance of Allah is of greater merit. And Allah knows all what you do.

Wala tujadiloo ahla alkitabi illa biallatee hiya ahsanu illa allatheena thalamoo minhum waqooloo amanna biallathee onzila ilayna waonzila ilaykum wailahuna wailahukum wahidun wanahnu lahu muslimoona

And argue not with the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), unless it be in (a way) that is better (with good words and in good manner, inviting them to Islâmic Monotheism with His Verses), except with such of them as do wrong, and say (to them): "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you; our Ilâh (God) and your Ilâh (God) is One (i.e. Allâh), and to Him we have submitted (as Muslims)."

And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them, and say, "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one; and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."

(நம்பிக்கையாளர்களே!) நீங்கள் வேதத்தை உடையவர் களுடன் (தர்க்கிக்க நேரிட்டால்) அழகான முறையிலன்றி அவர்களுடன் தர்க்கிக்க வேண்டாம். ஆயினும், அவர்களில் எவரேனும் வரம்பு மீறிவிட்டால் (அதற்குத் தக்கவாறு நீங்கள் பதில் கூறுவது உங்கள் மீது குற்றமாகாது. அவர்களுடன் தர்க்கித்தால்) "எங்களுக்கு இறக்கப்பட்ட (வேதத்)தை நம்பிக்கை கொள்கின்ற படியே உங்களுக்கு இறக்கப்பட்ட (வேதத்)தையும் நாங்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொள்கின்றோம். எங்கள் இறைவனும் உங்கள் இறைவனும் ஒருவனே. நாங்கள் அவனுக்குத்தான் முற்றிலும் வழிப்பட்டு நடக்கின்றோம்" என்றும் கூறுங்கள்!

இன்னும், நீங்கள் வேதத்தையுடையவர்களுடன் - அவர்களில் அக்கிரமமாய் நடப்பவர்களைத் தவிர்த்து, (மற்றவர்களுடன்) அழகிய முறையிலேயன்றித் தர்க்கம் செய்யாதீர்கள்; “எங்கள் மீது இறக்கப்பட்ட (வேதத்)தின் மீதும் உங்கள் மீது இறக்கப்பட்ட (வேதத்)தின் மீதும் நாங்கள் ஈமான் கொள்கிறோம்; எங்கள் இறைவனும் உங்கள் இறைவனும் ஒருவனே - மேலும் நாங்கள் அவனுக்கே முற்றிலும் வழிபட்டு, நடப்போர் (முஸ்லிம்கள்) ஆவோம்” என்று கூறுவீர்களாக.

(விசுவாசிகளே!) நீங்கள் வேதத்தையுடையோர்களுடன் எது மிக அழகானதோ அதைக்கொண்டல்லாது (அவர்களுடன்) தர்க்கிக்க வேண்டாம், (ஆயினும்,) அவர்களில் அநியாயம் செய்தோர் தவிர (அவர்களுடன் தர்க்கித்தால்,) “எங்களுக்கு இறக்கப்பட்ட (வேதத்)தையும், உங்களுக்கு இறக்கப்பட்ட (வேதத்)தையும் நாங்கள் விசுவாசிக்கின்றோம், எங்கள் வணக்கத்திற்குரியவனும், உங்கள் வணக்கத்திற்குரியவனும் ஒருவனே, மேலும், நாங்கள் அவனுக்கு முற்றிலும் கீழ்படிந்து நடக்கின்றவர்கள்” என்று கூறுங்கள்.

Do not argue with the People of the Book except in the best manner, unless with those of them who transgress [against you]. And say, “We believe in what is sent down to us and what was sent down to you, and our God and your God is One, and to Him we submit.”

Wakathalika anzalna ilayka alkitaba faallatheena ataynahumu alkitaba yuminoona bihi wamin haolai man yuminu bihi wama yajhadu biayatina illa alkafiroona

And thus We have sent down the Book (i.e. this Qur'ân) to you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]), and those whom We gave the Scripture [the Taurât (Torah) and the Injîl (Gospel) aforetime] believe therein as also do some of these (who are present with you now like 'Abdullâh bin Salâm) and none but the disbelievers reject Our Ayât [(proofs, signs, verses, lessons, etc.,) and deny Our Oneness of Lordship and Our Oneness of worship and Our Oneness of Our Names and Qualities: i.e. Islâmic Monotheism].

And thus We have sent down to you the Qur'an. And those to whom We [previously] gave the Scripture believe in it. And among these [people of Makkah] are those who believe in it. And none reject Our verses except the disbelievers.

(நபியே! அவர்களுக்கு வேதத்தை இறக்கிய) அவ்வாறே நாம் உங்களுக்கு இவ்வேதத்தை அருளியிருக்கின்றோம். ஆகவே, நாம் எவர்களுக்கு (முன்னர்) வேதம் கொடுத்திருக்கின்றோமோ அவர்க(ளில் உள்ள சத்தியவான்க) ள் இ(வ்வேதத்)தையும் (அவசியம்) நம்பிக்கை கொள்வார்கள். அன்றி, (அரபிகளாகிய) இவர்களில் உள்ள (நியாயவாதிகளில்) பலரும் இதனை நம்பிக்கை கொள்கின்றனர். (மனமுரண்டாக நிராகரிக்கும்) காஃபிர்களைத் தவிர (மற்ற எவரும்) நம்முடைய வசனங்களை நிராகரிக்க மாட்டார்கள்.

இவ்விதமே, (அவர்களுக்கு வேதம் இறக்கியது போன்றே நபியே!) உமக்கும் இவ்வேதத்தை இறக்கியிருக்கிறோம்; ஆகவே, நாம் (முன்னர்) எவருக்கு வேதத்தை, வழங்கியுள்ளோமோ, அவர்கள் இதனை நம்பி ஏற்றுக் கொள்கிறார்கள். மேலும், இதை நம்பி ஏற்றுக் கொள்வோரும் இவர்களில் இருக்கிறார்கள் - காஃபிர்களைத் தவிர (வேறு) எவரும் நம் வசனங்களை நிராகரிக்க மாட்டார்கள்.

(நபியே! முந்திய தூதர்களுக்கு வேதத்தை இறக்கிய) அவ்வாறே, நாம் உம்பால் (இவ்)வேதத்தை இறக்கியிருக்கின்றோம், ஆகவே, நாம் அவர்களுக்கு (முன்னர்) வேதத்தைக் கொடுத்திருக்கின்றோமோ அத்தகையோர்_அவர்கள், இ(வ்வேதத்)தை விசுவாசிப்பார்கள், (மக்காவாசிகளாகிய) இவர்களிலும் இதனை (நம்பி) விசுவாசிப்பவர்களும் உள்ளனர், மேலும் காஃபிர்களைத் தவிர (மற்றெவரும்) நம்முடைய வசனங்களை நிராகரிக்கமாட்டர்கள்.

Thus We have sent down to you the Book. Those to whom We gave the Scripture believe in it, and from these [pagans] there are some who believe in it, and none rejects Our verses except the disbelievers.

Wama kunta tatloo min qablihi min kitabin wala takhuttuhu biyameenika ithan lairtaba almubtiloona

Neither did you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) read any book before it (this Qur'ân) nor did you write any book (whatsoever) with your right hand. In that case, indeed, the followers of falsehood might have doubted.

And you did not recite before it any scripture, nor did you inscribe one with your right hand. Otherwise the falsifiers would have had [cause for] doubt.

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் இதற்கு முன்னர் யாதொரு வேதத்தை ஓதி அறிந்தவருமல்ல; உங்களுடைய கையால் நீங்கள் அதனை எழுதி(ப் பழகி)யவருமல்ல. அவ்வாறு இருந்திருக்குமாயின், நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் (இதனை நீங்கள் தாமாகவே கற்பனை செய்து கொண்டீரே தவிர இறைவனால் அருளப்பட்டதல்ல என்று) சந்தேகம் கொள்ளலாம்.

அன்றியும் (நபியே!) இதற்கு முன்னர் நீர் எந்த வேதத்திலிருந்தும் ஓதி வந்தவரல்லர்; உம் வலக்கையால் அதை எழுதுபவராகவும் இருக்கவில்லை; அவ்வாறு இருந்திருந்தால் இப்பொய்யர்கள் சந்தேகப்படலாம்.

மேலும் (நபியே!) இதற்கு முன்னர் எந்த வேதத்தையும் நீர் ஓதுபவராக இருக்கவில்லை, உமது வலக்கையால் நீர் அதனை எழுதுபவராக (இருக்க)வும் இல்லை. (அவ்வாறு இருந்திருக்குமானால்,) அப்பொழுது இப்பொய்யர்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வினால் அருளப்பட்டதல்ல என்று) திடமாக சந்தேகம் கொண்டிருப்பர்.

You [O Prophet] never recited any book before this, nor did you write with your hand. Otherwise, the people of falsehood would have raised suspicions.

Bal huwa ayatun bayyinatun fee sudoori allatheena ootoo alAAilma wama yajhadu biayatina illa alththalimoona

Nay, but they, the clear Ayât [i.e. the description and the qualities of Prophet Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] written in the Taurât (Torah) and the Injîl (Gospel)] are preserved in the breasts of those who have been given knowledge (among the people of the Scriptures). And none but the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong doers) deny Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.).

Rather, the Qur'an is distinct verses [preserved] within the breasts of those who have been given knowledge. And none reject Our verses except the wrongdoers.

அவ்வாறன்று. இது (இறைவனால்தான் அருளப்பட்ட) தெளிவான வசனங்களாக இருக்கின்றன. ஆகவே மெய்யான ஞானம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டவர்களின் உள்ளங்களில் இது பதிந்துவிடும். ஆகவே, அநியாயக்காரர்களைத் தவிர (மற்றெவரும்) நம்முடைய இவ்வசனங்களை நிராகரிக்க மாட்டார்கள்.

அப்படியல்ல! எவர் கல்வி ஞானம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறார்களோ அவர்களின் உள்ளங்களில், தெளிவான வசனங்களாக இது இருக்கிறது - அநியாயக்காரர்கள் தவிர (வேறு) எவரும் நம் வசனங்களை நிராகரிக்க மாட்டார்கள்.

அவ்வாறல்ல! (குர் ஆனாகிய) இது அறிவு கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருகிறார்களே அவர்களின் இதயங்களின் (பதியத்தக்க) தெளிவான வசனங்களாகும், மேலும், அநியாயக்காரர்களைத் தவிர (மற்றெவரும்) நம்முடைய வசனங்களை நிராகரிக்க மாட்டார்கள்.

Rather, this [Qur’an] is clear verses [preserved] in the hearts of those who have been given knowledge. And none rejects Our verses except the wrongdoers.

Waqaloo lawla onzila AAalayhi ayatun min rabbihi qul innama alayatu AAinda Allahi wainnama ana natheerun mubeenun

And they say: "Why are not signs sent down to him from his Lord? Say: "The signs are only with Allâh, and I am only a plain warner."

But they say, "Why are not signs sent down to him from his Lord?" Say, "The signs are only with Allah, and I am only a clear warner."

அன்றி ("தாங்கள் விரும்புகிறபடி) சில அத்தாட்சிகள் அவருடைய இறைவனால் அவருக்கு அளிக்கப்பட வேண்டாமா?" என்று இவ்வக்கிரமக்காரர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர். அதற்கு (நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "அத்தாட்சிகள் எல்லாம் அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில்தான் இருக்கின்றன. (என்னிடமில்லை.) நான் பகிரங்கமாக அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்கிறவன் மட்டும்தான்."

“அவருடைய இறைவனிடமிருந்து அவர் மீது அத்தாட்சிகள் ஏன் இறக்கப்படவில்லை?” என்றும் அவர்கள் கேட்கிறார்கள்; “அத்தாட்சிகளெல்லாம் அல்லாஹ்விடம் உள்ளன; ஏனெனில் நான் வெளிப்படையாக அச்ச மூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவன் தான்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக.

“அவருடைய இரட்சகனிடமிருந்து அத்தாட்சிகள் அவரின் மீது இறக்கப்படவேண்டாமா?” என்றும் அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர், அதற்கு (நபியே!) “அத்தாட்சிகளெல்லாம் அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில்தான் உள்ளன, (என்னிடமில்லை.) நானோ பகிரங்கமாக (அச்சமூட்டி) எச்சரிக்கை செய்கிறவன்தான்” என்று கூறுவீராக!

They say, “Why is it that no signs have been sent down to him from his Lord?” Say, “The signs are only with Allah, and I am only a clear warner.”

Awalam yakfihim anna anzalna AAalayka alkitaba yutla AAalayhim inna fee thalika larahmatan wathikra liqawmin yuminoona

Is it not sufficient for them that We have sent down to you the Book (the Qur'ân) which is recited to them? Verily, herein is mercy and a reminder (or an admonition) for a people who believe.

And is it not sufficient for them that We revealed to you the Book which is recited to them? Indeed in that is a mercy and reminder for a people who believe.

(நபியே!) இவ்வேதத்தை மெய்யாகவே நாம் உங்கள் மீது இறக்கி வைத்திருக்கிறோம் என்பதற்கு அவர்களுக்கு ஓதிக் காண்பிக்கப்படும் இவ்வேதமே போதுமான அத்தாட்சியல்லவா? ஏனென்றால், இதில் நம்பிக்கை கொண்ட மக்களுக்கு நிச்சயமாக (இறைவனுடைய) அருளும் இருக்கின்றது; (பல) நல்லுபதேசங்களும் இருக்கின்றன.

அவர்களுக்கு ஓதிக்காட்டப்படும் இவ்வேதத்தை நாம் உம் மீது இறக்கியிருக்கிறோம் என்பது அவர்களுக்குப் போதாதா? நிச்சயமாக அ(வ் வேதத்)தில் ரஹ்மத்தும், ஈமான் கொண்ட சமூகத்தாருக்கு (நினைவூட்டும்) நல்லுபதேசமும் இருக்கின்றன.  

நிச்சயமாக நாம் (இவ்) வேதத்தை உம்மீது இறக்கி வைத்து (அது) அவர்கள் மீது ஓதப்பட்டு வருவது அவர்களுக்குப் போதாதா? (ஏனென்றால்,) நிச்சயமாக அதில், (அல்லாஹ்வுடைய) அருளும், விசுவாசங்கொண்ட சமூகத்தார்க்கு ஒரு நினைவூட்டலும் இருக்கின்றன.

Is it not enough for them that We have sent down to you the Book which is being recited to them? Indeed, there is a mercy and reminder in it for people who believe.

Qul kafa biAllahi baynee wabaynakum shaheedan yaAAlamu ma fee alssamawati waalardi waallatheena amanoo bialbatili wakafaroo biAllahi olaika humu alkhasiroona

Say (to them O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "Sufficient is Allâh for a witness between me and you. He knows what is in the heavens and on earth." And those who believe in Bâtil (all false deities other than Allâh), and disbelieve in Allâh (and in His Oneness), it is they who are the losers.

Say, "Sufficient is Allah between me and you as Witness. He knows what is in the heavens and earth. And they who have believed in falsehood and disbelieved in Allah - it is those who are the losers."

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "எனக்கும் உங்களுக்கும் இடையில் அல்லாஹ்வே போதுமான சாட்சியாக இருக்கின்றான். ஏனென்றால், அவன்தான் வானங்கள் பூமியிலுள்ள அனைத்தையும் நன்கறிந்தவன். ஆகவே, எவர்கள் பொய்யான விஷயங்களை நம்பி அல்லாஹ்வை நிராகரித்து விடுகின்றார்களோ இத்தகையவர்கள் முற்றிலும் நஷ்டமடைந்தவர்கள்தாம்."

“எனக்கிடையிலும், உங்களுக்கிடையிலும் சாட்சியாயிருக்க அல்லாஹ்வே போதுமானவன்; வானங்களிலும், பூமியிலும் இருப்பவற்றை அவன் அறிகிறான்; எனவே, எவர் பொய்யானவற்றை நம்பி அல்லாஹ்வை நிராகரிக்கிறார்களோ, அவர்கள் தாம் நஷ்டவாளிகள்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்.

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்: எனக்கும், உங்களுக்குமிடையில் சாட்சியாக (இருக்க) அல்லாஹ்வே போதுமானவன், (ஏனென்றால்,) வானங்களிலும், பூமியிலும் உள்ளவற்றை அவன் நன்கு அறிவான், பொய்யை விசுவாசங்கொண்டு, அல்லாஹ்வை நிராகரித்தும் விடுகின்றார்களே அத்தகையோர்_அவர்கள் தாம் நஷ்டமடைந்தவர்கள்.

Say, “Allah is Sufficient as a Witness between me and you. He knows all that is in the heavens and earth. Those who believe in falsehood and disbelieve in Allah, it is they who are the losers.”

WayastaAAjiloonaka bialAAathabi walawla ajalun musamman lajaahumu alAAathabu walayatiyannahum baghtatan wahum la yashAAuroona

And they ask you to hasten on the torment (for them), and had it not been for a term appointed, the torment would certainly have come to them. And surely, it will come upon them suddenly while they perceive not!

And they urge you to hasten the punishment. And if not for [the decree of] a specified term, punishment would have reached them. But it will surely come to them suddenly while they perceive not.

(மறுமையின்) வேதனையைப் பற்றி (அது எப்பொழுது வரும்? என்று) அவர்கள் உங்களிடம் அவசரப்படுகின்றனர். அதற்குறிய ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட தவணை இல்லாதிருந்தால் (இதுவரையில்) அவ்வேதனை அவர்களை வந்தடைந்தே இருக்கும். எனினும், அவர்கள் அறிந்துகொள்ளாத விதத்தில் திடீரென நிச்சயமாக அவர்களிடம் (அது) வந்தே தீரும்.

இன்னும், (மறுமையின்) வேதனையைப் பற்றி அவர்கள் உம்மை அவசரப்படுத்துகிறார்கள்; மேலும், (அதற்கெனக்) குறிப்பிட்ட தவணை ஏற்படுத்தப்படாதிருப்பின் அவ்வேதனை அவர்களுக்கு வந்திருக்கும்; எனினும் (அத்தவணையை) அவர்கள் உணர்ந்தறிய முடியாதிருக்கும் நிலையில், அவர்களிடம் அ(வ்வேதனையான)து திடீரென்று வந்து சேரும்.

மேலும், (மறுமையின்) வேதனைப்பற்றி, (அது எப்பொழுது வரும்? என்று) அவர்கள் உம்மை அவசரப்படுத்துகின்றனர்; இன்னும், ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட தவணையில்லாதிருந்தால் அ(வ்வேதனையான)து அவர்களை வந்தடைந்திருக்கும்; இன்னும், (அத்தவணை) அவர்கள் உணர்ந்து கொள்ளாத நிலையில், அது திடீரென அவர்களிடம் திட்டமாக வந்துவிடும்.

They ask you [O Prophet] to hasten the punishment. If it had not been for a time already set, the punishment would have come to them. But it will surely come to them by surprise when they least expect it.

YastaAAjiloonaka bialAAathabi wainna jahannama lamuheetatun bialkafireena

They ask you to hasten on the torment. And verily, Hell, of a surety, will encompass the disbelievers.

They urge you to hasten the punishment. And indeed, Hell will be encompassing of the disbelievers

நிராகரிப்பவர்களை நிச்சயமாக நரகம் சூழ்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கும் நிலைமையில் வேதனையைப் பற்றி அவர்கள் அவசரப்படுகின்றார்கள். (அதிலிருந்து அவர்கள் தப்பவே முடியாது.)

அவ்வேதனையை அவசரப்படுத்து மாறு அவர்கள் உம்மைக் கேட்கிறார்கள் - ஆனால், நிச்சயமாக நரகம் காஃபிர்களைச் சூழ்ந்து கொள்வதாக இருக்கிறது.

அவர்கள் (அவ்) வேதனையைப்பற்றி உம்மை அவசரப்படுத்துகின்றனர், நிச்சயமாக நரகமோ நிராகரிப்போரைச் சூழ்ந்து கொள்ளக்கூடியதாகும்.

They ask you to hasten the punishment, but Hell will surely encompass the disbelievers

Yawma yaghshahumu alAAathabu min fawqihim wamin tahti arjulihim wayaqoolu thooqoo ma kuntum taAAmaloona

On the Day when the torment (Hell-fire) shall cover them from above them and from underneath their feet, and it will be said: "Taste what you used to do."

On the Day the punishment will cover them from above them and from below their feet and it is said, "Taste [the result of] what you used to do."

அவர்களு(டைய தலைகளு)க்கு மேலிருந்தும், அவர்களு(டைய பாதங்களு)க்குக் கீழிருந்தும் வேதனை அவர்களை மூடிக் கொள்ளும் நாளில் அவர்களை நோக்கி "நீங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்த செயலின் பயனை நீங்கள் சுவைத்துப் பாருங்கள்" என்று (இறைவன்) கூறுவான்.

அந்நாளில், அவ்வேதனை அவர்களுக்கு மேலிருந்தும், அவர்களுடைய கால்களுக்குக் கீழிருந்தும் அவர்களை மூடிக் கொள்ளும். (அப்போது இறைவன்) “நீங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்த(தின் பய)னைச் சுவைத்துப் பாருங்கள்“ என்று கூறுவான்.

அவர்களுக்கு மேலிருந்தும், அவர்களுடைய கால்களுக்குக் கீழிருந்தும் வேதனை அவர்களை மூடிக்கொள்ளும் (அந்) நாளில், “நீங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்ததை நீங்கள் சுவைத்துப்பாருங்கள்” என்றும் (அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) அவன் கூறுவான்.

on the Day when the punishment will overwhelm them from above and from below their feet, and He will say, “Taste [the punishment] for what you used to do!”

Ya AAibadiya allatheena amanoo inna ardee wasiAAatun faiyyaya faoAAbudooni

O My slaves who believe! Certainly, spacious is My earth. Therefore worship Me." (Alone).

O My servants who have believed, indeed My earth is spacious, so worship only Me.

நம்பிக்கை கொண்ட என்னுடைய அடியார்களே! நிச்சயமாக என்னுடைய பூமி மிக்க விசாலமானது. அதில் நீங்கள் (எங்குச் சென்ற போதிலும்) என்னையே வணங்குங்கள். (மற்றெவரையும் வணங்காதீர்கள்.)

ஈமான் கொண்ட என் அடியார்களே! நிச்சயமாக என் பூமி விசாலமானது; ஆகையால் நீங்கள் என்னையே வணங்குங்கள்.

விசுவாசங்கொண்ட என்னுடைய அடியார்களே! நிச்சயமாக என்னுடைய பூமி (மிக்க) விசாலமானது, எனவே (அதில்) நீங்கள் என்னையே வணங்குங்கள்.

O My believing slaves, My earth is spacious, so worship Me alone.

Kullu nafsin thaiqatu almawti thumma ilayna turjaAAoona

Everyone shall taste death. Then to Us you shall be returned.

Every soul will taste death. Then to Us will you be returned.

(உங்களில் உள்ள) ஒவ்வொரு ஆத்மாவும் மரணத்தை அனுபவிக்க வேண்டியதுதான். பின்னர் நீங்கள் (விசாரணைக்காக) நம்மிடமே கொண்டு வரப்படுவீர்கள்.

ஒவ்வோர் ஆத்மாவும் மரணத்தைச் சுகிக்கக் கூடியதே யாகும்; பின்னர் நீங்கள் நம்மிடமே மீள்விக்கப்படுவீர்கள்.

ஒவ்வோர் ஆத்மாவும் மரணத்தைச் சுவைக்ககூடியதாகும், பின்னர் நீங்கள் நம்மிடமே திருப்பிக் கொண்டு வரப்படுவீர்கள்.

Every soul will taste death, then to Us you will all be returned.

Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lanubawwiannahum mina aljannati ghurafan tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha niAAma ajru alAAamileena

And those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh – Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, to them We shall surely give lofty dwellings in Paradise, underneath which rivers flow, to live therein forever. Excellent is the reward for the workers.

And those who have believed and done righteous deeds - We will surely assign to them of Paradise [elevated] chambers beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. Excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers

எவர்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு நற்செயல்களைச் செய்கின்றார்களோ அவர்களை நிச்சயமாக நாம் சுவனபதிகளிலுள்ள மேல் மாடிகளில் அமர்த்துவோம். அதில் நீரருவிகள் தொடர்ந்து ஓடிக்கொண்டே இருக்கும். அதில் அவர்கள் என்றென்றும் தங்கி விடுவார்கள். நற்செயல்கள் செய்தவர்களின் கூலியும் நன்றே.

எவர்கள் ஈமான் கொண்டு, ஸாலிஹான (நல்) அமல்களை செய்கிறார்களோ அவர்களை, சதா கீழே ஆறுகள் ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் சுவனபதியிலுள்ள உயர்ந்த மாளிகைகளில், நிச்சயமாக நாம் அமர்த்துவோம்; அவற்றில் அவர்கள் நிரந்தரமாக (நிலைத்து) இருப்பார்கள்; (இவ்வாறாக நற்) செயல்கள் புரிவோரின் கூலியும் பாக்கியம் மிக்கதாகவே உள்ளது.

மேலும், “விசுவாசங்கொண்டு நற்கருமங்களையும் செய்கிறார்களே அத்தகையோர்_அவர்களைச் சுவனபதியிலுள்ள உயர்ந்த மாளிகைகளில் (அவர்கள் தங்கி விடுவதற்காக) திட்டமாக நாம் இறக்குவோம், அவற்றின் கீழ் ஆறுகள் ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கும், அவற்றில் அவர்கள் நிரந்தரமாக(த்தங்கி) இருப்பவர்கள், (நன்மையான) செயல் புரிவோரின் கூலி நல்லதாகிவிட்டது.

As for those who believe and do righteous deeds, We will surely accommodate them in mansions of Paradise under which rivers flow, abiding therein forever. How excellent is the reward of those who work [righteousness]! –

Allatheena sabaroo waAAala rabbihim yatawakkaloona

Those who are patient, and put their trust (only) in their Lord (Allâh).

Who have been patient and upon their Lord rely.

உண்மை நம்பிக்கையாளர்கள் (தங்களுக்கு ஏற்பட்ட கஷ்டங்களைப்) பொறுமையுடன் சகித்துக்கொண்டு தங்கள் இறைவனையே நம்பியிருப்பார்கள்.

(ஏனெனில்) அவர்கள் பொறுமையைக் கொண்டார்கள்; மேலும் தங்கள் இறைவன் மீதே முழு நம்பிக்கை வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள்.

அத்தகையோர் பொறுமையுடனிருந்து (தங்களின் காரியங்களை அல்லாஹ்விடம் ஒப்படைத்து முழுமையாக) தங்கள் இரட்சகனின் மீது நம்பிக்கையும் வைப்பார்கள்.

those who endure patiently and put their trust in their Lord.

Wakaayyin min dabbatin la tahmilu rizqaha Allahu yarzuquha waiyyakum wahuwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu

And so many a moving (living) creature carries not its own provision! Allâh provides for it and for you. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.

And how many a creature carries not its [own] provision. Allah provides for it and for you. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

உயிர்வாழும் பிராணிகளில் எத்தனையோ இருக்கின்றன. அவை தங்கள் உணவைச் சுமந்து திரிவதில்லை. அவற்றிற்கும் உங்களுக்கும் அல்லாஹ்தான் உணவளிக்கிறான். (இவ்வாறிருக்க அதற்காக நீங்கள் ஏன் அதிகக் கவலைப்பட வேண்டும்.) அவனோ (அனைத்தையும்) செவியுறுபவனாகவும் நன்கறிந்தவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

அன்றியும் (பூமியிலுள்ள) எத்தனையோ பிராணிகள் தங்கள் உணவைச் சுமந்து கொண்டு திரிவதில்லை; அவற்றுக்கும் உங்களுக்கும் அல்லாஹ் தான் உணவளிக்கின்றான் - இன்னும் அவன் (யாவற்றையும் செவிமடுப்பவனாகவும் (நன்கு) அறிபவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

மேலும், எத்தனையோ பிராணிகள்_அவை தங்கள் உணவைச் சுமந்து திரிவதில்லை, அல்லாஹ்தான் அவைகளுக்கும், உங்களுக்கும் உணவளிக்கிறான், (இவ்வாறிருக்க, அதற்காக நீங்கள் ஏன் அதிகக் கவலைப்பட வேண்டும்?) அவனே (யாவையும்) செவியேற்கிறவன், நன்கறிகிறவன்.

How many creatures there are that cannot carry their provisions! It is Allah Who provides for them and for you, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Walain saaltahum man khalaqa alssamawati waalarda wasakhkhara alshshamsa waalqamara layaqoolunna Allahu faanna yufakoona

And if you were to ask them: "Who has created the heavens and the earth and subjected the sun and the moon?" they will surely reply: "Allâh." How then are they deviating (as polytheists and disbelievers)?

If you asked them, "Who created the heavens and earth and subjected the sun and the moon?" they would surely say, "Allah." Then how are they deluded?

(நபியே! நீங்கள் அவர்களை நோக்கி) "வானங்களையும் பூமியையும் படைத்தவன் யார்? சூரியனையும் சந்திரனையும் தன் திட்டப்படியே நடக்கும்படி செய்தவன் யார்?" என்று அவர்களைக் கேட்பீராயின் அதற்கவர்கள் "அல்லாஹ்தான்" என்று நிச்சயமாகக் கூறுவார்கள். அவ்வாறாயின், அவர்கள் (நம்மைவிட்டு) எங்கு வெருண்டோடுகின்றனர்.

மேலும், (நபியே!) “நீர் இவர்களிடத்தில் வானங்களையும், பூமியையும் படைத்துச் சூரியனையும் சந்திரனையும் (தன் அதிகாரத்தில்) வசப்படுத்திருப்பவன் யார்?” என்று கேட்டால், “அல்லாஹ்” என்றே இவர்கள் திட்டமாக கூறுவார்கள்; அவ்வாறாயின் அவர்கள் (உண்மையை விட்டு) எங்கே திருப்பப்படுகிறார்கள்?

மேலும், “வானங்களையும் பூமியையும் படைத்து, சூரியனையும், சந்திரனையும் (தன் திட்டப்பிராகரமே நடக்கும் படி) வசப்படுத்தியவன் யார்?” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் அவர்களைக் கேட்பீராயின், “அல்லாஹ்” என்று அவர்கள் நிச்சயமாகக் கூறுவார்கள்; அவ்வாறாயின், அவர்கள் (அவனை வணங்குவதை விட்டும்) எங்கு திருப்பப்படுகிறார்கள்?.

If you ask them who created the heavens and earth and subjected the sun and moon, they will surely say, “Allah.” How are they then deluded?

Allahu yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashao min AAibadihi wayaqdiru lahu inna Allaha bikulli shayin AAaleemun

Allâh enlarges the provision for whom He wills of His slaves, and straitens it for whom (He wills). Verily, Allâh is All-Knower of everything.

Allah extends provision for whom He wills of His servants and restricts for him. Indeed Allah is, of all things, Knowing.

அல்லாஹ் தன்னுடைய அடியார்களில் தான் நாடியவர்களுக்கு அதிகமாகவும் கொடுக்கிறான்; (தான் நாடியவர்களுக்குக்) குறைத்தும் விடுகிறான். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (மனிதர்களின் தகுதி) அனைத்தையும் நன்கறிந்தவனாக இருக்கின்றான்.

“அல்லாஹ் தன் அடியார்களில் தான் நாடியவர்களுக்கு உணவை விசாலமாக்குகிறான், தான் நாடியவருக்கு சுருக்கியும் விடுகிறான்; நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் ஒவ்வொன்றையும் அறிந்தவன்.”

அல்லாஹ் தன்னுடைய அடியார்களில் தான் நாடியவர்களுக்கு (வாழ்க்கை வசதிகளுக்குத் தேவையான) உணவை விரிவாகவும் கொடுக்கிறான், (தான் நாடியவர்களுக்கு) அளவோடும் கொடுக்கிறான், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ், ஒவ்வொரு பொருளையும் (பற்றி) நன்கறிந்தவன்.

Allah extends provision to whom He wills of His slaves or restricts it. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing of everything.

Walain saaltahum man nazzala mina alssamai maan faahya bihi alarda min baAAdi mawtiha layaqoolunna Allahu quli alhamdu lillahi bal aktharuhum la yaAAqiloona

And if you were to ask them: "Who sends down water (rain) from the sky, and gives life therewith to the earth after its death?" they will surely reply: "Allâh." Say: "All praise and thanks are Allâh's!" Nay, most of them have no sense.

And if you asked them, "Who sends down rain from the sky and gives life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness?" they would surely say " Allah." Say, "Praise to Allah "; but most of them do not reason.

(நபியே! நீங்கள் அவர்களை நோக்கி) மேகத்திலிருந்து மழையை பொழியச் செய்பவன் யார்? அதனைக் கொண்டு இறந்த பூமியை உயிர்ப்பிப்பவன் யார்? என்று நீங்கள் அவர்களைக் கேட்பீராயின் அதற்கவர்கள் "நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்தான்" என்று கூறுவார்கள். அதற்கு நீங்கள் "புகழ் அனைத்தும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே!" என்று கூறுங்கள். எனினும், அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலானவர்கள் (இதனை) உணர்ந்து கொள்வதில்லை.

இன்னும், அவர்களிடம்: ”வானத்திலிருந்து நீரை இறக்கி, பிறகு அதனைக் கொண்டு இப்பூமியை - அது (காய்ந்து) மரித்தபின் உயிர்ப்பிப்பவன் யார்?” என்று நீர் கேட்பீராகில்: “அல்லாஹ்” என்றே இவர்கள் திட்டமாகக் கூறுவார்கள்; (அதற்கு நீர்) “அல்ஹம்து லில்லாஹ் - புகழனைத்தும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே உரியது” என்று கூறுவீராக; எனினும் இவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் அறிந்துணர மாட்டார்கள்.  

மேலும், (நபியே!) “வானத்திலிருந்து மழையை இறக்கி அதனைக் கொண்டு பூமியை_அது இறந்தபின் உயிர்ப்பிப்பவன் யார்?” என்று நீர் அவர்களைக் கேட்பீராயின், ”அல்லாஹ்” என்று அவர்கள் நிச்சயமாக கூறுவார்கள், (அதற்கு) “புகழனைத்தும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே உரியது” என்று நீர் கூறுவீராக! எனினும் அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் (இதனை) அறிந்து கொள்ளமாட்டார்கள்.

If you ask them who sends down rain from the sky, then revives therewith the land after its death, they will surely say, “Allah”. Say, “All praise is for Allah,” but most of them do not understand.

Wama hathihi alhayatu alddunya illa lahwun walaAAibun wainna alddara alakhirata lahiya alhayawanu law kanoo yaAAlamoona

And this life of the world is only amusement and play! Verily, the home of the Hereafter – that is the life indeed (i.e. the eternal life that will never end), if they but knew.

And this worldly life is not but diversion and amusement. And indeed, the home of the Hereafter - that is the [eternal] life, if only they knew.

இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கை வீண் விளையாட்டும், வேடிக்கையுமே தவிர வேறொன்றும் இல்லை. மேலும்மறுமையின் வாழ்க்கைதான் நிச்சயமாக நிலையான வாழ்க்கை ஆகும். இதை அவர்கள் அறிந்திருக்க வேண்டுமே!

இன்னும், இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கை வீணும் விளையாட்டுமேயன்றி வேறில்லை - இன்னும் நிச்சயமாக மறுமைக்குரிய வீடு திடமாக அதுவே (நித்தியமான) வாழ்வாகும் - இவர்கள் (இதை) அறிந்திருந்தால்.

மேலும், இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கை வீணும், விளையாட்டுமே தவிர வேறொன்றுமில்லை. அவர்கள் அறிந்தவர்களாக இருப்பின் நிச்சயமாக மறுமையின் வீடு, அதுவே (நித்திய) வாழ்க்கையாகும்.

The life of this world is nothing but amusement and play, and the Abode of the Hereafter is indeed the real life, if only they knew.

Faitha rakiboo fee alfulki daAAawoo Allaha mukhliseena lahu alddeena falamma najjahum ila albarri itha hum yushrikoona

And when they embark on a ship, they invoke Allâh, making their Faith pure for Him only, but when He brings them safely to land, behold, they give a share of their worship to others.

And when they board a ship, they supplicate Allah, sincere to Him in religion. But when He delivers them to the land, at once they associate others with Him

(மனிதர்கள்) கப்பலில் ஏறி (ஆபத்தில் சிக்கி)க் கொண்டால், அவர்கள் முற்றிலும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு வழிபட்டுக் கலப்பற்ற (பரிசுத்த) மனதோடு அவனை அழைத்துப் பிரார்த்தனை செய்கின்றனர். அவன், அவர்களை கரையில் (இறக்கி) பாதுகாத்துக் கொண்ட பின்னர் அவனுக்கு அவர்கள் (பலரை) இணை ஆக்குகின்றனர்.

மேலும் அவர்கள் மரக்கலங்களில் ஏறிக்கொண்டால், அந்தரங்க சுத்தியுடன் சன்மார்க்கத்தில் வழிப்பட்டவர்களாக அல்லாஹ்வைப் பிரார்த்திக்கின்றனர்; ஆனால், அவன் அவர்களை (பத்திரமாகக்) கரைக்கு கொண்டு வந்து விடுங்கால், அவர்கள் (அவனுக்கே) இணைவைக்கின்றனர்.

மேலும், அவர்கள் கப்பலில் ஏறி(ய பின் ஆபத்தில் சிக்கி)க் கொண்டால், அவர்கள் முற்றிலும் வணக்கத்தை அவனுக்கே கலப்பற்றதாக ஆக்கியவர்களாக அல்லாஹ்வை அழைக்கின்றனர், அவன் அவர்களைக் கரையின் பால் (சேர்த்து வைத்துக்) காப்பாற்றிய பொழுது, அவனுக்கே அவர்கள் இணைவைக்கின்றனர்.

When they board a ship, they supplicate Allah, devoting their faith sincerely to Him. But as soon as He rescues them to the land, they associate partners with Him,

Liyakfuroo bima ataynahum waliyatamattaAAoo fasawfa yaAAlamoona

So that they become ingrate for that which We have given them, and that they take their enjoyment (as a warning and a threat), but they will come to know.

So that they will deny what We have granted them, and they will enjoy themselves. But they are going to know.

நாம் அவர்களுக்குச் செய்யும் நன்றியை (இவ்வாறு) அவர்கள் மறுத்துக்கொண்டே இருக்கட்டும். (தங்கள் விருப்பப்படியும்) அவர்கள் சுகமனுபவித்துக் கொண்டே இருக்கட்டும். தங்கள் (செயலின்) பயனை(ப் பின்னர்) நிச்சயமாக தெரிந்து கொள்வார்கள்.

அவர்கள், நாம் அவர்களுக்கு அளித்துள்ளவற்றுக்கு மாறு செய்து கொண்டு, (இவ்வுலகின் அற்ப) சுகங்களை அனுபவிக்கட்டும் - ஆனால் (தம் தீச்செயல்களின் பயனை) அறிந்து கொள்வார்கள்.

நாம் அவர்களுக்கு அருளியதை அவர்கள் நிராகரிப்பதற்காகவும் (தங்கள் விருப்பப்படி) அவர்கள் சுகமனுபவித்துக் கொண்டிருப்பதற்காகவும் (இணை வைக்கின்றனர்.) ஆனால் அவர்கள் (இதன் பலனை) விரைவில் தெரிந்து கொள்வார்கள்.

showing their ingratitude to what We have given them and enjoy themselves, but they will soon come to know.

Awalam yaraw anna jaAAalna haraman aminan wayutakhattafu alnnasu min hawlihim afabialbatili yuminoona wabiniAAmati Allahi yakfuroona

Have they not seen that We have made (Makkah) a secure sanctuary, while men are being snatched away from all around them? Then do they believe in Bâtil (falsehood – polytheism, idols and all deities other than Allâh), and deny (become ingrate for) the Graces of Allâh?

Have they not seen that We made [Makkah] a safe sanctuary, while people are being taken away all around them? Then in falsehood do they believe, and in the favor of Allah they disbelieve?

(இந்த மக்காவை) அபயமளிக்கும் இடமாக நாம் ஆக்கியிருப்பதை அவர்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா? அவர்களைச் சூழவுள்ள மனிதர்கள் இறாஞ்சி(த் தூக்கி)ச் செல்லப்படுகின்றனர். இவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் (இவ்வருட்) கொடையை நிராகரித்துவிட்டு பொய்யான தெய்வங்களை நம்பிக்கை கொள்கின்றனரா?

அன்றியும் (மக்காவைச்) சூழவுள்ள மனிதர்கள் (பகைவர்களால்) இறாய்ஞ்சிச் செல்லப்படும் நிலையில் (இதை) நாம் பாதுகாப்பான புனிதத் தலமாக ஆக்கியிருப்பதை அவர்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா? இன்னும், அவர்கள் பொய்யானவற்றை நம்பி, அல்லாஹ்வின் அருட்கொடையை நிராகரிக்கிறார்களா?

அவர்களைச் சூழ (மக்காவிற்கு வெளியில்) உள்ள மனிதர்கள் எதிரிகளால் இறாய்ஞ்சி(த் தூக்கி)ச் செல்லப்படும் நிலையில் (இந்த மக்காவை) அபயமளிக்கும் புனித இடமாக நாம் ஆக்கியிருப்பதை அவர்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா? இவர்கள் பொய்யை விசுவாசங்கொண்டு, அல்லாஹ்வின் (இந்த) அருட்கொடையையும் நிராகரிக்கின்றனர்.

Do they not see that We have made [Makkah] a safe sanctuary, while people around them are being snatched away? Do they still believe in falsehood and show ingratitude to Allah’s favors?

Waman athlamu mimmani iftara AAala Allahi kathiban aw kaththaba bialhaqqi lamma jaahu alaysa fee jahannama mathwan lilkafireena

And who does more wrong than he who invents a lie against Allâh or denies the truth (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] and his doctrine of Islâmic Monotheism and this Qur'ân), when it comes to him? Is there not a dwelling in Hell for the disbelievers (in the Oneness of Allâh and in His Messenger Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam])?

And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allah or denies the truth when it has come to him? Is there not in Hell a [sufficient] residence for the disbelievers?

அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது கற்பனையாகப் பொய் கூறுபவனைவிட அல்லது தன்னிடம் வந்த உண்மையைப் பொய்யாக்குபவனைவிட அநியாயக்காரன் யார்? இத்தகைய நிராகரிப்பவர்களின் தங்குமிடம் நரகத்தில் அல்லவா இருக்கின்றது.

அன்றியும், அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது பொய்யை இட்டுக்கட்டுபவனைவிட - அல்லது தன்னிடம் சத்தியம் வந்த போது அதைப் பொய்ப்பிப்பவனைவிட அநியாயம் செய்பவன் யார்? (இத்தகைய) காஃபிர்களுக்கு ஒதுங்குமிடம் நரகத்தில் அல்லவா இருக்கின்றது,

இன்னும், அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது பொய்யைக் கற்பனைச் செய்தவனை விட, அல்லது சத்தியத்தை_ அது, தன்னிடம் வந்தபோது_ பொய்யாக்கியவனை விட மிக்க அக்கிரமக்காரன் யார்? (இத்தகைய) நிராகரிப்போரின் தங்குமிடம் நரகத்தில் இல்லையா?

Who does greater wrong than one who fabricates lies against Allah or rejects the truth when it comes to him? Is there not a home in Hell for the disbelievers?

Waallatheena jahadoo feena lanahdiyannahum subulana wainna Allaha lamaAAa almuhsineena

As for those who strive hard in Us (Our Cause), We will surely guide them to Our paths (i.e. Allâh's religion – Islâmic Monotheism). And verily, Allâh is with the Muhsinûn (good-doers)."

And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good.

எவர்கள் நம்முடைய வழியில் (செல்ல) முயற்சிக் கின்றார்களோ அவர்களை நிச்சயமாக நாம் நம்முடைய (நல்) வழிகளில் செலுத்துகின்றோம். நன்மை செய்பவர்களுடன் நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் இருக்கிறான்.

மேலும் எவர்கள் நம்முடைய வழியில் முயல்கின்றார்களோ நிச்சயமாக அவர்களை நம்முடைய நேரான வழிகளில் நாம் செலுத்துவோம்; நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நன்மை செய்வோருடனேயே இருக்கின்றான்.

மேலும், நம்முடைய வழியில் (செல்ல) முயற்சிக்கின்றார்களே அத்தகையோர்_நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்களை, நம்முடைய (நேரான) வழியில் செலுத்துகின்றோம், மேலும் நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நன்மை செய்வோர்களுடன் இருக்கிறான்.

As for those who strive in Our cause, We will surely guide them to Our ways, for Allah is certainly with those who do good.
