28 - al-Qasas (The Story)

Tâ-Sîn-Mîm.[These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'ân, and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings.]

தா; ஸீம்; மீம்.

தா, ஸீம். மீம்.

Tā Sīn Mīm.

Tilka ayatu alkitabi almubeeni

These are the Verses of the manifest Book (that makes clear truth from falsehood, good from evil).

These are the verses of the clear Book.

(நபியே!) இவை(களும்) தெளிவான இவ்வேதத்திலுள்ள சில வசனங்களாகும்.

இவை தெளிவான வேதத்தின் வசனங்களாகும்.

(நபியே!) இவை தெளிவான இவ்வேத வசனங்களாகும்.

These are the verses of the clear Book.

Natloo AAalayka min nabai moosa wafirAAawna bialhaqqi liqawmin yuminoona

We recite to you some of the news of Mûsâ (Moses) and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) in truth, for a people who believe (in this Qur'ân, and in the Oneness of Allâh).

We recite to you from the news of Moses and Pharaoh in truth for a people who believe.

(நபியே!) நம்பிக்கை கொண்ட மக்களுக்காக மூஸா, ஃபிர்அவ்னைப் பற்றிய சில உண்மை விஷயங்களை நாம் உங்களுக்கு ஓதிக் காண்பிக்கிறோம்.

நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளும் மக்களுக்காக நாம் மூஸாவுடையவும் ஃபிர்அவ்னுடையவும் வரலாற்றிலிருந்து உண்மையைக் கொண்டு, உமக்கு ஓதிக் காண்பிக்கின்றோம்.

(நபியே!) விசுவாசங்கொள்ளும் கூட்டத்தாருக்காக மூஸா, ஃபிர் அவ்னுடைய செய்தியை உண்மையைக் கொண்டு உமக்கு நாம் ஓதிக்காண்பிக்கிறோம்.

We recount to you part of the story of Moses and Pharaoh in truth for people who believe.

Inna firAAawna AAala fee alardi wajaAAala ahlaha shiyaAAan yastadAAifu taifatan minhum yuthabbihu abnaahum wayastahyee nisaahum innahu kana mina almufsideena

Verily, Fir'aun (Pharaoh) exalted himself in the land and made its people sects, weakening (oppressing) a group (i.e. Children of Israel) among them: killing their sons, and letting their females live. Verily, he was of the Mufsidûn (i.e. those who commit great sins and crimes, oppressors, tyrants).

Indeed, Pharaoh exalted himself in the land and made its people into factions, oppressing a sector among them, slaughtering their [newborn] sons and keeping their females alive. Indeed, he was of the corrupters.

நிச்சயமாக ஃபிர்அவ்ன், பூமியில் மிகவும் பெருமை கொண்டு, அதில் உள்ளவர்களைப் பல வகுப்புக்களாகப் பிரித்து, அவர்களில் ஒரு பிரிவினரை பலவீனப்படுத்தும் பொருட்டு அவர்களுடைய ஆண் மக்களைக் கொலை செய்து, பெண் மக்களை உயிருடன் வாழ வைத்து வந்தான். மெய்யாகவே (இவ்வாறு) அவன் விஷமம் செய்பவனாக இருந்தான்.

நிச்சயமாக ஃபிர்அவ்ன் இப்பூமியில் பெருமையடித்துக் கொண்டு, அந்த பூமியிலுள்ளவர்களைப் (பல) பிரிவினர்களாக்கி, அவர்களிலிருந்து ஒரு கூட்டத்தாரை பலஹீனப்படுத்தினான்; அவர்களுடைய ஆண் குழந்தைகளை அறுத்(துக் கொலை செய்)து பெண் குழந்தைகளை உயிருடன் விட்டும் வைத்தான்; நிச்சயமாக அவன் குழப்பம் செய்வோரில் ஒருவனாக இருந்தான்.

நிச்சயமாக ஃபிர் அவ்ன் பூமியில் (மிகவும்) பெருமை கொண்டு, அதிலுள்ளவர்களைப் பல பிரிவினர்களாக்கி, அவர்களில் ஒரு பிரிவினரைப் பலவீனப்படுத்தினான், அவர்களுடைய ஆண் மக்களை அறுத்(துக் கொலை செய்)தான், மேலும் அவர்களின் பெண் மக்களை (உயிருடன் வாழ)விட்டுவைத்தான், நிச்சயமாக அவன் குழப்பம் செய்பவர்களில் (உள்ளவனாக) இருந்தான்.

Indeed, Pharaoh arrogantly elevated himself in the land and divided its people into different factions; oppressing one group of them, slaughtering their sons and sparing their women alive. He was truly one of those who spread corruption.

Wanureedu an namunna AAala allatheena istudAAifoo fee alardi wanajAAalahum aimmatan wanajAAalahumu alwaritheena

And We wished to do a favour to those who were weak (and oppressed) in the land, and to make them rulers and to make them the inheritors,

And We wanted to confer favor upon those who were oppressed in the land and make them leaders and make them inheritors

எனினும், பூமியில் அவன் பலவீனப்படுத்தியவர்கள் மீது நாம் அருள் புரிந்து அவர்களைத் தலைவர்களாக்கி (அங்கு இருந்தவர்களுடைய பொருள்களுக்கும்,) இவர்களையே வாரிசுகளாக்கி வைக்க விரும்பினோம்.

ஆயினும் (மிஸ்ரு) பூமியில் பலஹீனப் படுத்தப்பட்டோருக்கு நாம் உபகாரம் செய்யவும், அவர்களைத் தலைவர்களாக்கிவிடவும் அவர்களை (நாட்டுக்கு) வாரிசுகளாக்கவும் நாடினோம்.

(எகிப்திய) பூமியில் அவனால் பலவீனப்படுத்தப்பட்டோர் மீது நாம் உபகாரம் செய்யவும், அவர்களைத் தலைவர்களாக நாம் ஆக்கிவைக்கவும், (கொடுமை செய்தோரான பலசாலிகளின் உடமைகளுக்கு) அவர்களை வாரிசுகளாக நாம் ஆக்கி வைக்கவும் நாடினோம்.

But We wanted to bestow favor upon those who were oppressed in the land, and make them leaders and inheritors [of the land],

Wanumakkina lahum fee alardi wanuriya firAAawna wahamana wajunoodahuma minhum ma kanoo yahtharoona

And to establish them in the land, and We let Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Hâmân and their hosts receive from them that which they feared.

And establish them in the land and show Pharaoh and [his minister] Haman and their soldiers through them that which they had feared.

அப்பூமியில் நாம் (பலவீனமான) அவர்களை மேன்மையாக்கி வைத்து ஃபிர்அவ்னும், ஹாமானும், அவர்களுடைய ராணுவங்களும் எந்த வேதனைக்குப் பயந்து கொண்டிருந்தார்களோ, அதனை அவர்களுக்குக் காண்பிக்கவும் நாம் கருதினோம்.

இன்னும், அப்பூமியில் அவர்களை நிலைப்படுத்தி ஃபிர்அவ்னும், ஹாமானும், அவ்விருவரின் படைகளும் இவர்களைப்பற்றி எ(வ் விஷயத்)தில் பயந்து கொண்டிருந்தார்களோ அதைக் காண்பிக்கவும் (நாடினோம்).

மேலும், அப்பூமியில் நாம் அவர்களை ஸ்திரப்படுத்தி வைக்கவும், ஃபிர் அவ்னுக்கும், ஹாமானுக்கும், அவ்விருவரின் படையினருக்கும் இவர்களிடமிருந்து அவர்கள் எ(வ்விஷயத்)தை பயந்துகொண்டிருந்தார்களோ அதனை அவர்களுக்குக் காண்பிக்கவும் (நாடினோம்).

and to establish them in the land, and to show Pharaoh, Hamān and their soldiers that which they feared.

Waawhayna ila ommi moosa an ardiAAeehi faitha khifti AAalayhi faalqeehi fee alyammi wala takhafee wala tahzanee inna raddoohu ilayki wajaAAiloohu mina almursaleena

And We inspired the mother of Mûsâ (Moses) (telling): "Suckle him [Mûsâ (Moses)], but when you fear for him, then cast him into the river and fear not, nor grieve. Verily, We shall bring him back to you, and shall make him one of (Our) Messengers." (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi)

And We inspired to the mother of Moses, "Suckle him; but when you fear for him, cast him into the river and do not fear and do not grieve. Indeed, We will return him to you and will make him [one] of the messengers."

(ஆகவே, பலவீனமானவர்களில் மூஸாவை நாம் படைத்தோம். மூஸா பிறந்த சமயத்தில், பலவீனமான இவர்களுடைய மக்களில் பிறக்கும் ஆண் குழந்தைகளை ஃபிர்அவ்ன் வதை செய்து கொண்டிருந்தான். ஆகவே மூஸாவின் தாய், தன்னுடைய இக்குழந்தையையும் ஃபிர்அவ்ன் கொலை செய்து விடுவானோ என்று அஞ்சி நடுங்கினாள்.) ஆகவே, (அச்சமயம்) மூஸாவின் தாய்க்கு நாம் வஹ்யி மூலம் அறிவித்தோம்: (குழந்தையை உன்னிடமே வைத்துக்கொண்டு) "அவருக்குப் பால் கொடுத்து வா. (உன்னிடம் இருப்பதில்) அவரைப் பற்றி நீ பயந்தால், அவரை (பேழையில் வைத்து) ஆற்றில் எறிந்துவிடு. நீ அவரைப் பற்றிக் கவலைப்படாதே! பயப்படாதே! நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவரை உன்னிடமே கொண்டு வந்து சேர்த்து, அவரை நம்முடைய தூதர்களில் ஒருவராகவும் ஆக்குவோம்" (என்று அறிவித்தோம்.)

நாம் மூஸாவின் தாயாருக்கு: “அவருக்கு (உன் குழந்தைக்குப்) பாலூட்டுவாயாக; அவர் மீது (ஏதும் ஆபத்து வரும் என்று) நீ பயப்படுவாயானால், அவரை ஆற்றில் எறிந்து விடு - அப்பால் (அவருக்காக) நீ பயப்படவும் வேண்டாம், துக்கப்படவும் வேண்டாம்; நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவரை உன்னிடம் மீள வைப்போம்; இன்னும், அவரை (நம்) தூதர்களில் ஒருவராக்கி வைப்போம்” என்று வஹீ அறிவித்தோம்.

மேலும், மூஸாவின் தாய்க்கு நாம் வஹீ (மூலம்) அறிவித்தோம்: “அவருக்குப் பாலுட்டுவாயாக! பின்னர் (உன்னிடம் இருப்பதில்) அவரைப் பற்றி நீ பயந்தால், அவரை(ப்பேழையில் வைத்து) ஆற்றில் போட்டு விடுவாயாக, நீ அவரைப் பற்றிப்பயபடவும் வேண்டாம், கவலைப்படவும் வேண்டாம், நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவரை உன்னிடமே திருப்பிக் கொண்டு வந்து சேர்ப்போராகவும், அவரை, (நம்) தூதர்களில் (ஒருவராக) ஆக்குவோராகவும் உள்ளோம்!”

We inspired the mother of Moses, “Suckle him; but when you fear for him, cast him into the river, and do not fear or grieve. We will surely return him to you, and will make him one of the messengers.”

Failtaqatahu alu firAAawna liyakoona lahum AAaduwwan wahazanan inna firAAawna wahamana wajunoodahuma kanoo khatieena

Then the household of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) picked him up, that he might become for them an enemy and a (cause of) grief. Verily, Fir'aun (Pharaoh), Hâmân and their hosts were sinners.

And the family of Pharaoh picked him up [out of the river] so that he would become to them an enemy and a [cause of] grief. Indeed, Pharaoh and Haman and their soldiers were deliberate sinners.

(ஆகவே, மூஸாவுடைய தாய் அவரை ஒரு பேழையில் வைத்து ஆற்றில் விட்டுவிட்டாள்.) அக்குழந்தையை ஃபிர்அவ்னுடைய குடும்பத்தினரில் ஒருவர் எடுத்துக்கொண்டார். (அவர்களுக்கு) எதிரியாகி துக்கத்தைத் தரக்கூடிய (அக்குழந்)தை (யை அவர்களே எடுத்துக்கொண்டதினால்) ஃபிர்அவ்னும், ஹாமானும், அவர்களுடைய ராணுவங்களும் நிச்சயமாகத் தவறிழைத்தவர்களாவே ஆயினர்.

(நதியில் மிதந்து வந்த) அவரை ஃபிர்அவ்னுடைய குடும்பத்தினர் எடுத்துக் கொண்டார்கள்; (பிற்காலத்தில் அவர்) அவர்களுக்கு விரோதியாகவும் துக்கந்தருபவராகவும் ஆவதற்காக! நிச்சயமாக ஃபிர்அவ்னும், ஹாமானும், அவ்விருவரின் படைகளும் தவறிழைப்பவர்களாகவே இருந்தனர்.

(ஆகவே, நதியில் மிதந்து வந்த) அக்குழந்தையை ஃபிர் அவ்னுடைய குடும்பத்தினர், அவர் அவர்களுக்கு விரோதியாகவும், துக்கம் தரக்கூடியவராகவும் ஆவதற்காக கண்டெடுத்துக் கொண்டார்கள், நிச்சயமாக ஃபிர் அவ்னும், ஹாமானும், அவ்விருவருடைய படைகளும் தவறிழைத்தவர்களாக இருந்தனர்.

Then the household of Pharaoh picked him up, so that he may become an enemy to them and a source of grief. Indeed, Pharaoh, Hāmān and their soldiers were wrongdoers.

Waqalati imraatu firAAawna qurratu AAaynin lee walaka la taqtuloohu AAasa an yanfaAAana aw nattakhithahu waladan wahum la yashAAuroona

And the wife of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "A comfort of the eye for me and for you. Kill him not, perhaps he may be of benefit to us, or we may adopt him as a son." And they perceived not (the result of that).

And the wife of Pharaoh said, "[He will be] a comfort of the eye for me and for you. Do not kill him; perhaps he may benefit us, or we may adopt him as a son." And they perceived not.

(அக்குழந்தையைக் கண்ட) ஃபிர்அவ்னுடைய மனைவி (தன் கணவனை நோக்கி) "நீ இதனை கொலை செய்துவிடாதே! எனக்கும், உனக்கும் இது ஒரு கண் குளிர்ச்சியாக இருக்கின்றது. இதனால் நாம் நன்மை அடையலாம் அல்லது இதனை நாம் நம்முடைய குழந்தையாக தத்தெடுத்துக் கொள்ளலாம்" என்று கூறினாள். எனினும், (இவராலேயே தங்களுக்கும் அழிவு ஏற்படும் என்பதை) அவர்கள் அறிந்துகொள்ளவில்லை.

இன்னும்: (குழந்தையைக் கண்ட) ஃபிர்அவ்னின் மனைவி (“இக்குழந்தை) எனக்கும் உங்களுக்கும் கண் குளிர்ச்சியாக இருக்கிறது - இதை நீங்கள் கொன்று விடாதீர்கள்; நமக்கு இவர் பயன் அளிக்கக்கூடும்; அல்லது நாம் இவரை நம் புதல்வராக்கிக் கொள்ளலாம்” என்று சொன்னார்; இன்னும் அவர்கள் (இதன் விளைவு என்னவாகும் என்பதை) உணர்ந்து கொள்ளவில்லை.

மேலும், (கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்ட குழைந்தயைப் பார்த்த) ஃபிர் அவ்னுடைய மனைவி, (தன் கணவனிடம்), ”எனக்கும், உமக்கும் (இது) ஒரு கண்குளிர்ச்சியாக இருக்கும், இதனை நீங்கள் கொலைசெய்து விடவேண்டாம், இது நமக்கு பயனளிக்கலாம், அல்லது இதனை நாம் நம்முடைய (சுவீகாரக்) குழைந்தையாக்கிகொள்ளலாம்” என்று கூறினாள். இன்னும் (இவரால் தங்களுக்கு என்ன நேரும் என்பதை) அவர்கள் உணர்ந்து கொள்ளவில்லை.

Pharaoh’s wife said, “He is a source of joy for me and you. Do not kill him; he will probably benefit us, or we may adopt him as a son.” They were unaware [of the consequences].

Waasbaha fuadu ommi moosa farighan in kadat latubdee bihi lawla an rabatna AAala qalbiha litakoona mina almumineena

And the heart of the mother of Mûsâ (Moses) became empty [from every thought, except the thought of Mûsâ (Moses)]. She was very near to disclose his (case, i.e. the child is her son), had We not strengthened her heart (with Faith), so that she might remain as one of the believers.

And the heart of Moses' mother became empty [of all else]. She was about to disclose [the matter concerning] him had We not bound fast her heart that she would be of the believers.

மூஸாவுடைய தாயின் உள்ளம் (அவரை ஆற்றில் எறிந்த பின் துக்கத்தால்) வெறுமையாகி விட்டது. அவள் என்னுடைய வார்த்தையை நம்பும்படி அவளுடைய உள்ளத்தை நாம் உறுதிப் படுத்தியிருக்காவிடில், (மூஸா பிறந்திருக்கும் விஷயத்தை அனைவருக்கும்) அவள் வெளிப்படுத்தியே இருப்பாள்.

மூஸாவின் தாயுடைய இருதயம் (துக்கத்தால்) வெறுமையாகி விட்டது; முஃமின்களில் நின்றுமுள்ளவளாய் இருப்பதற்காக நாம் அவள் உள்ளத்தை உறுதிப்படுத்தாது இருந்திருந்தால், அவள் (மூஸா ஆற்றில் விடப்பட்டதை) வெளிப்படுத்த முடுகியிருப்பாள்.

(குழந்தையை ஆற்றில் போட்ட பின்னர், அவரைப்பற்றிய நினைவைத் தவிர மற்றவைகளை நினைப்பதை விட்டும்) மூஸாவுடைய தாயின் இதயம் வெறுமையாகி விட்டது, அவள் நம்புவர்களில் உள்ளவளாக இருப்பதற்காக நாம் அவளுடைய இதயத்தை (நம்முடைய பேருதவியைக் கொண்டு) கட்டுப்படுத்தி இருக்காவிடில், அவள் இ(வ்விஷயத்)தை (மற்றவருக்கு) வெளிப்படுத்த முனைந்திருப்பாள்

The heart of Moses’ mother became restless; she was about to disclose it, had We not reassured her heart so that she would maintain her faith [in Allah’s promise].

Waqalat liokhtihi qusseehi fabasurat bihi AAan junubin wahum la yashAAuroona

And she said to his [Mûsâ's (Moses)] sister: "Follow him." So she (his sister) watched him from a far place secretly, while they perceived not.

And she said to his sister, "Follow him"; so she watched him from a distance while they perceived not.

(அக்குழந்தையைப் பேழையில் வைத்து ஆற்றில் விட்டதன் பின்னர்) அவள், அக்குழந்தையின் சகோதரியை நோக்கி "(ஆற்றில் மிதந்து செல்லும்) அதனைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து நீயும் செல்" என்று கூறினாள். அவளும் அ(தனைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து சென்று அதனை எடுத்த)வர்களுக்குத் தெரியாத விதத்தில் அதை(ப் பற்றி என்ன நடக்கிறதென்று) தூரத்திலிருந்தே கவனித்து வந்தாள்.

இன்னும் மூஸாவின் சகோதரியிடம்: “அவரை நீ பின் தொடர்ந்து செல்” என்றும் (தாய்) கூறினாள். (அவ்வாறே சென்று ஃபிர்அவ்னின்) ஆட்கள் காண முடியாதபடி அவள் தூரத்திலிருந்து அவரை கவனித்து வந்தாள்.

மேலும், (அக்குழந்தையாகிய) அவரின் சகோதரியிடம் “நீ அதனைப் பின் தொடர்ந்து செல்” என்று (மூஸாவுடைய தாயாகிய) அவள் கூறினாள், ஆகவே, அவர்கள் உணராத விதத்தில் தூரத்திலிருந்தே அதனை அவள் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தாள்.

She said to his sister, “Keep track of him.” So she watched him from a distance, without them noticing.

Waharramna AAalayhi almaradiAAa min qablu faqalat hal adullukum AAala ahli baytin yakfuloonahu lakum wahum lahu nasihoona

And We had already forbidden (other) foster suckling mothers for him, until she (his sister came up and) said: "Shall I direct you to a household who will rear him for you, and look after him in a good manner?"

And We had prevented from him [all] wet nurses before, so she said, "Shall I direct you to a household that will be responsible for him for you while they are to him [for his upbringing] sincere?"

(ஆற்றில் மிதந்து சென்ற குழந்தையை எடுத்துக் கொண்டவர்கள் அதற்குப் பாலூட்ட பல செவிலித் தாய்களை அழைத்து வந்தனர். எனினும்,) இதற்கு முன்னதாகவே அக்குழந்தை (எவளுடைய) பாலையும் அருந்தாது தடுத்துவிட்டோம். (ஆகவே, இதைப் பற்றி அவர்கள் திகைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்த சமயத்தில் மூஸாவின் சகோதரி அவர்கள் முன் வந்து) "உங்களுக்காக இக்குழந்தைக்கு செவிலித்தாயாக இருந்து அதன் நன்மையைக் கவனிக்கும் பொறுப்பேற்றுக் கொள்ளக்கூடிய ஒரு வீட்டுடையாரை நான் உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கவா?" என்று கூறினாள்.

நாம் முன்னதாகவே அவரை(ச் செவிலித்தாய்களின்) பாலருந்துவதை தடுத்து விட்டோம்; (அவருடைய சகோதரி வந்து) கூறினாள்: “உங்களுக்காக பொறுப் பேற்று அவரை(ப் பாலூட்டி) வளர்க்கக் கூடிய ஒரு வீட்டினரை நான் உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கட்டுமா? மேலும் அவர்கள் அவர் நன்மையை நாடுபவராக இருப்பார்கள்.”

(நம் திட்டபடி) முன்னரே பால் கொடுப்பவர்களிலிருந்து (பால் குடிப்பதை விட்டும்) அவரை நாம் தடுத்துவிட்டோம், அப்பொழுது, “உங்களுக்காக அதற்குப் பொறுப்பேற்றுக்கொள்ளும் ஒரு வீட்டினரை உங்களுக்கு நான் அறிவிக்கட்டுமா? இன்னும், அவர்கள் அதற்கு நன்மையையே நாடுகிறவர்கள்” என்று (மூஸாவின் சகோதரியான) அவள் கூறினாள்.

We had already forbidden for him all wet-nurses, then she said, “Shall I direct you to a household who will nurse him for you and take good care of him?”

Faradadnahu ila ommihi kay taqarra AAaynuha wala tahzana walitaAAlama anna waAAda Allahi haqqun walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona

So did We restore him to his mother, that her eye might be comforted, and that she might not grieve, and that she might know that the Promise of Allâh is true. But most of them know not.

So We restored him to his mother that she might be content and not grieve and that she would know that the promise of Allah is true. But most of the people do not know.

(அவர்கள் அனுமதிக்கவே, அவள் மூஸாவுடைய தாயை அழைத்தும் வந்து விட்டாள்.) இவ்வாறு நாம் அவரை அவருடைய தாயிடமே சேர்த்துத் தாயின் கண் குளிர்ந்திருக்கவும் அவள் கவலைப்படாதிருக்கவும் செய்து, அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வாக்குறுதி உண்மையானதுதான் என்று நிச்சயமாக அவள் அறிந்து கொள்ளும் படியும் செய்தோம். எனினும், அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலானவர்கள் (இதனை) அறியமாட்டார்கள்.

இவ்வாறு அவருடைய தாயாரின் கண்குளிர்ச்சியடையவும், அவள் துக்கப்படாதிருக்கவும், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வின் வாக்குறுதி உண்மையானது என்பதை அவள் அறிந்து கொள்வதற்காகவும் நாம் அவரை அவர் தாயாரிடத்தே திரும்பச் சேர்த்தோம் - எனினும், அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் (இதை) அறிய மாட்டார்கள்.

பின்னர், அவருடைய தாயிடம்_அவளுடைய கண்குளிர்ச்சியடைவதற்காகவும், அவள் கவலை அடையாதிருப்பதற்காகவும், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வாக்குறுதி உண்மையானது தான் என்று அவள் அறிந்து கொள்வதற்காகவும்_அவரை நாம் திருப்பிக் கொடுத்தோம் எனினும், அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் (இதன் உண்மையை) அறியமாட்டார்கள்.

Then We returned him to his mother, so that she would be comforted and not grieve, and so that she would know that Allah’s promise is true. Yet most of them do not know.

Walamma balagha ashuddahu waistawa ataynahu hukman waAAilman wakathalika najzee almuhsineena

And when he attained his full strength, and was perfect (in manhood), We bestowed on him Hukm (Prophethood, and right judgement of the affairs) and religious knowledge [of the religion of his forefathers, i.e. Islâmic Monotheism]. And thus do We reward the Muhsinûn (i.e. good-doers. See the footnote of V.9:120).

And when he attained his full strength and was [mentally] mature, We bestowed upon him judgement and knowledge. And thus do We reward the doers of good.

அவர் வாலிபத்தையடைந்து அவருடைய அறிவு பூரணப் பக்குவம் அடையவே, அவருக்கு ஞானக் கல்வியையும், வேதத்தையும் நாம் அளித்தோம். இவ்வாறே நன்மை செய்பவர்களுக்கு நாம் கூலி தருகிறோம்.

இன்னும், அவர் வாலிபமடைந்து, (பக்குவ) நிலை பெற்றபோது, நாம் அவருக்கு ஞானத்தையும் கல்வியையும் அளித்தோம் - இவ்வாறே நல்லோருக்கு நாம் (நற்) கூலி வழங்குகிறோம்.

அவர் வாலிபத்தையடைந்து, (வாழ்க்கையில்) அவர் நிறைவு நிலையைப் பெற்றபோது அவருக்கு ஞானத்தையும், கல்வியையும் நாம் வழங்கினோம், இவ்வாறே நன்மை செய்வோருக்கு நாம் (நற்) கூலி வழங்குவோம்.

When he reached his full strength and maturity, We gave him wisdom and knowledge. This is how We reward those who do good.

Wadakhala almadeenata AAala heeni ghaflatin min ahliha fawajada feeha rajulayni yaqtatilani hatha min sheeAAatihi wahatha min AAaduwwihi faistaghathahu allathee min sheeAAatihi AAala allathee min AAaduwwihi fawakazahu moosa faqada AAalayhi qala hatha min AAamali alshshaytani innahu AAaduwwun mudillun mubeenun

And he entered the city at a time of unawareness of its people: and he found there two men fighting, – one of his party (his religion – from the Children of Israel), and the other of his foes. The man of his (own) party asked him for help against his foe, so Mûsâ (Moses) struck him with his fist and killed him. He said: "This is of Shaitân's (Satan's) doing, verily, he is a plain misleading enemy."

And he entered the city at a time of inattention by its people and found therein two men fighting: one from his faction and one from among his enemy. And the one from his faction called for help to him against the one from his enemy, so Moses struck him and [unintentionally] killed him. [Moses] said, "This is from the work of Satan. Indeed, he is a manifest, misleading enemy."

(மூஸா ஒரு நாளன்று) மக்கள் அயர்ந்து (பராமுகமாக) இருக்கும் சமயத்தில் அவ்வூரில் சென்றபொழுது இரு வாலிபர்கள் சண்டையிட்டுக் கொண்டிருப்பதை அவர் கண்டார். ஒருவன் (இஸ்ரவேலரில் உள்ள) இவர் இனத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவன்; மற்றொருவன் (கிப்திகளாகிய) இவருடைய எதிரிகளில் உள்ளவன். அவனுக்கு எதிராக உதவி செய்யுமாறு இவர் இனத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவன் இவரிடத்தில் கோரிக் கொண்டான். (அதற்கிணங்கி) மூஸா அவனை ஒரு குத்துக் குத்தி அவன் காரியத்தை முடித்து விட்டார். (அதனால் அவன் இறந்து விட்டான். இதை அறிந்த மூஸா) "இது ஷைத்தானுடைய வேலை. நிச்சயமாக அவன் வழி கெடுக்கக்கூடிய பகிரங்கமான எதிரி" எனக் கூறினார்.

(ஒரு நாள் மூஸா) மக்கள் அயர்ந்து (தூக்கத்தில் பராமுகமாக) இருந்த போது, நகரத்தில் நுழைந்தார்; அங்கு இரண்டு மனிதர்கள் சண்டையிட்டுக் கொண்டியிருந்ததைக் கண்டார்; ஒருவன் அவர் கூட்டத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவன்; மற்றொருவன் அவர் பகைவன் கூட்டத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவன்; பகைவனுக்கெதிராக உதவி செய்யுமாறு அவர் கூட்டத்தான் கோரினான் - மூஸா அ(ப் பகை)வனை ஒரு குத்துக் குத்தினார்; அவனை முடித்தார்; (இதைக் கண்ட மூஸா): “இது ஷைத்தானுடைய வேலை; நிச்சயமாக அவன் வழி கெடுக்கக்கூடிய பகிரங்கமான விரோதியாவான்” என்று கூறினார்.

அந்நகரத்தில்_ அதைச்சார்ந்தோர் பாராமுகமாக (அயர்ந்து தூக்கத்தில்) இருந்த சமயத்தில் (மூஸாவாகிய) அவர் நுழைந்தார், அப்போது சண்டையிட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்த இரண்டு மனிதர்களை அதில் அவர் கண்டார், இ(தில் ஒரு)வன் அவருடைய கூட்டத்தைச் சார்ந்தவன், இ(ன்னொரு)வன் அவருடைய பகைவனைச் சார்ந்தவன். அப்போது அவர் இனத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவன், அவருடைய பகைவனைச் சார்ந்தவனக்கு எதிராக உதவி செய்யுமாறு அவரிடத்தில் கோரினான், (அதற்கிணங்கி) மூஸா அவனை ஒரு குத்துக் குத்தினார், அவன் காரியத்தை முடித்துவிட்டார். (அவன் இறந்துவிட்டதை அறிந்த மூஸா,) “இதை ஷைத்தானுடைய செயலில் உள்ளதாகும், நிச்சயமாக அவன் பகிரங்கமாக வழி கெடுக்கக்கூடிய விரோதி” எனக் கூறினார்.

Once he entered the city unnoticed by its people, and found two men fighting: one of his own people and the other of his enemies. The one from his own people called him for help against his enemy, so Moses struck him with his fist, causing his death. Moses said, “This is of Satan’s work; he is a sworn enemy who mislead people.”

Qala rabbi innee thalamtu nafsee faighfir lee faghafara lahu innahu huwa alghafooru alrraheemu

He said: "My Lord! Verily, I have wronged myself, so forgive me." Then He forgave him. Verily, He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

He said, "My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me," and He forgave him. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

அன்றி அவர் "என் இறைவனே! நிச்சயமாக நான் எனக்கே தீங்கிழைத்துக் கொண்டேன். நீ என்னுடைய குற்றத்தை மன்னிப்பாயாக!" என்று பிரார்த்தித்தார். ஆகவே, (இறைவனும்) அவருடைய குற்றத்தை மன்னித்துவிட்டான். ஏனென்றால், நிச்சயமாக அவன் மிக்க மன்னிப்பவனும் கிருபை செய்பவனுமாக இருக்கின்றான்.

“என் இறைவா! நிச்சயமாக நான் என் ஆத்மாவுக்கே அநியாயம் செய்து விட்டேன்; ஆகவே, நீ என்னை மன்னிப்பாயாக!” என்று பிரார்த்தித்தார்; அப்போது அவன் அவரை மன்னித்தான் - நிச்சயமாக அவன், மிகவும் மன்னிப்பவனாகவும், கிருபை மிக்கவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

அவர் “என் இரட்சகனே! நிச்சயமாக நான் எனக்கே அநியாயம் செய்துவிட்டேன், ஆகவே, நீ என்னை மன்னிப்பாயாக! என்று (பிரார்த்தித்துக்) கூறினார். அப்போது (அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) அவன் அவரை மன்னித்துவிட்டான். நிச்சயமாக அவனே மிக்க மன்னிக்கிறவன், மிகக் கிருபை செய்கிறவன்.

He said, “My Lord, I have wronged myself, so forgive me,” Then He forgave him, for He is indeed the All-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

Qala rabbi bima anAAamta AAalayya falan akoona thaheeran lilmujrimeena

He said: "My Lord! For that with which You have favoured me, I will nevermore be a helper of the Mujrimûn (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners)!"

He said, "My Lord, for the favor You bestowed upon me, I will never be an assistant to the criminals."

(பின்னும் அவர் தன் இறைவனை நோக்கி) "என் இறைவனே! என் மீது நீ அருள் புரிந்ததன் காரணமாக (இனி) ஒரு காலத்திலும் நான் குற்றவாளிகளுக்கு உதவி செய்யமாட்டேன்" என்று கூறினார்.

“என் இறைவா! என் மீது நீ அருள்புரிந்ததன் காரணமாக, நான் இனி ஒரு போதும் குற்றவாளிகளுக்கு உதவி செய்பவனாக இருக்க மாட்டேன்” என்று கூறினார்.

“என் இரட்சகனே! என் மீது நீ அருள் புரிந்ததன் காரணமாக, (இனி) குற்றவாளிகளுக்கு உதவி செய்பவனாக நான் ஒருபோதும் இருக்கமாட்டேன்” என்று அவர் கூறினார்.

He said, “My Lord, because of the blessings that You have bestowed upon me, I will never be a supporter to the wicked.”

Faasbaha fee almadeenati khaifan yataraqqabu faitha allathee istansarahu bialamsi yastasrikhuhu qala lahu moosa innaka laghawiyyun mubeenun

So he became afraid, looking about in the city (waiting as to what will be the result of his crime of killing), when behold, the man who had sought his help the day before, called for his help (again). Mûsâ (Moses) said to him: "Verily, you are a plain misleader!"

And he became inside the city fearful and anticipating [exposure], when suddenly the one who sought his help the previous day cried out to him [once again]. Moses said to him, "Indeed, you are an evident, [persistent] deviator."

(அன்றிரவு அவருக்கு நிம்மதியாகவே கழிந்தது. எனினும்) காலையில் எழுந்து அந்நகரத்தில் (தன்னைப் பற்றி என்ன நடந்திருக்கின்றதோ என்று) பயந்தவராகக் கவனித்துக் கொண்டிருந்த சமயத்தில், நேற்று இவரிடம் உதவி தேடியவன் (பின்னும் தனக்கு உதவி செய்யுமாறு) கூச்சலிட்டு இவரை அழைத்தான். அதற்கு மூஸா அவனை நோக்கி "நீ பகிரங்கமான கலகக்காரனாக இருக்கிறாய்" என்று நிந்தித்து,

மேலும், (தமக்கு என்ன நடக்குமோ என்று மறுநாள்) காலையில் பயத்துடன் கவனித்துக் கொண்டு நகரத்தில் இருந்தபோது, முன் தினம் அவரிடம் உதவி கோரியவன் (மீண்டும்) அவரை (உதவிக்காக) கூச்சலிட்டு அழைத்தான் அதற்கு, மூஸா: “நிச்சயமாக நீ பகிரங்கமான கலகக்காரனாக இருக்கின்றாய்” என்று அவனிடம் கூறினார்.

பின்னர் (மறுநாள்) காலையில் அந்நகரத்தில் (தமக்கு என்ன ஏற்படுமோ என்று) பயந்தவராக (அங்கும் இங்குமாக அவர் கவனித்துக்கொண்டிருந்த அச்சமயத்தில், நேற்று இவரிடம் உதவி தேடியவன், (பின்னர் தனக்கு உதவி கேட்டு) கூச்சலிட்டு இவரை அழைத்தான்; அதற்கு மூஸா அவனிடம், “நீ பகிரங்கமான அழிச்சாட்டியக்காரனாக இருக்கின்றாய்” என்று கூறினார்.

Then he became fearful and vigilant in the city; suddenly the one who sought his help the day before cried out to him again for help. Moses said to him, “You are clearly a troublemaker.”

Falamma an arada an yabtisha biallathee huwa AAaduwwun lahuma qala ya moosa atureedu an taqtulanee kama qatalta nafsan bialamsi in tureedu illa an takoona jabbaran fee alardi wama tureedu an takoona mina almusliheena

Then when he decided to seize the man who was an enemy to both of them, the man said: "O Mûsâ (Moses)! Is it your intention to kill me as you killed a man yesterday? Your aim is nothing but to become a tyrant in the land, and not to be one of those who do right."

And when he wanted to strike the one who was an enemy to both of them, he said, "O Moses, do you intend to kill me as you killed someone yesterday? You only want to be a tyrant in the land and do not want to be of the amenders."

பின்னும் (அவனுக்கு உதவி செய்யவே விரும்பி) அவனுக்கும் தனக்கும் விரோதமாய் இருப்பவனைப் பிடிக்க விரும்பினார். (எனினும், இவருடைய இனத்தான் இவர் தன்னையே பிடிக்க வருவதாய்த் தவறாக எண்ணிப் பயந்து) "மூஸாவே! நேற்றைய தினம் ஒரு மனிதனைக் கொலை செய்தது போல் என்னையும் நீங்கள் கொலை செய்யக் கருதுகிறீர்களா? இவ்வூரில் (நீங்கள் கொலை பாதகம் செய்யும்) வம்பனாக இருக்கக் கருதுகிறீர்களே அன்றி, சீர்திருத்தும் நல்ல மனிதராக இருக்க நீங்கள் நாடவில்லை" என்று கூச்சலிட்டான்.

பின்னர், மூஸா தம்மிருவருக்கும் பகைவனாக இருந்தவனைப் பிடிக்க, நாடியபோது, அவர் இனத்தான் (தன்னையே அவர் பிடிக்க) வருகிறார் என்று எண்ணி) “மூஸாவே! நேற்று ஒரு மனிதனை நீர் கொலை செய்தது போல், என்னையும் கொலை செய்ய நாடுகிறீரா? இப்பூமியில் அக்கிரமம் செய்பவராகவே இருக்க நீர் நாடுகிறீர். மேலும், இணக்கம் ஏற்படுத்துவோரில் (ஒருவராக) இருக்க நீர் நாடவில்லை” என்று கூறினான்.

பின்னர், தம்மிருவருக்கும் விரோதியாயிருந்தவனைப் பிடிக்க (மூஸாவாகிய) அவர் நாடியபோது, (மூஸாவுடைய கூட்டத்தைச் சார்ந்தவன், அதைத்தவறாக புரிந்துகொண்டு) “மூஸாவே! நேற்றையத்தினம் ஒரு மனிதனைக் கொலை செய்தது போல், என்னையும் நீர் கொலை செய்ய நாடுகிறீரா? பூமியில் வம்பனாக ஆவதைத் தவிர (வேறு எதனையும்) நீர் நாடவில்லை, இன்னும், சீர்திருத்துவோரில் உள்ளவராவதையும் நீர் நாடவில்லை” என்று அவன் கூறினான்.

When he was about to strike the one who was an enemy to both of them, he said, “O Moses, do you want to kill me as you killed that person yesterday? You only want to be a tyrant in the land, and you do not want to be one of those who put things right!”

Wajaa rajulun min aqsa almadeenati yasAAa qala ya moosa inna almalaa yatamiroona bika liyaqtulooka faokhruj innee laka mina alnnasiheena

And there came a man running, from the farthest end of the city. He said: "O Mûsâ (Moses)! Verily, the chiefs are taking counsel together about you, to kill you, so escape. Truly, I am one of the good advisers to you."

And a man came from the farthest end of the city, running. He said, "O Moses, indeed the eminent ones are conferring over you [intending] to kill you, so leave [the city]; indeed, I am to you of the sincere advisors."

(இக்கூச்சல் மக்களிடையே பரவி, நேற்று இறந்தவனைக் கொலை செய்தவர் மூஸாதான் என்று மக்களுக்குத் தெரிந்து இவரைப் பழிவாங்கக் கருதினார்கள்.) அச்சமயம் பட்டிணத்தின் கோடியிலிருந்து ஒரு மனிதர் (விரைவாக) ஓடிவந்து மூஸாவே! "மெய்யாகவே உங்களைக் கொலை செய்துவிட வேண்டுமென்று தலைவர்கள் முடிவு செய்து கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள். ஆதலால், நீங்கள் (இவ்வூரைவிட்டு) வெளியேறி விடுங்கள். மெய்யாகவே நான் உங்களுடைய நன்மைக்கே (இதனைக்) கூறுகிறேன்" என்று கூறினார்.

பின்னர், நகரத்தின் ஒரு கோடியிலிருந்து (நன்) மனிதர் ஒருவர் ஓடி வந்து, “மூஸாவே! நிச்சயமாக (இந்நகர்ப்) பிரமுகர்கள் ஒன்று கூடி உம்மைக் கொன்று விட வேண்டுமென ஆலோசனை செய்கிறார்கள்; ஆகவே நீர் (இங்கிருந்து) வெளியேறி விடுவீராக! நிச்சயமாக நாம் உம் நன்மையை நாடுபவர்களில் ஒருவனாவேன்” என்று கூறினார்.

மேலும், பட்டணத்தின் கோடியிலிருந்து மனிதர் விரைவாக (ஓடி) வந்து, “மூஸாவே! நிச்சயமாக உம்மைக் கொலை செய்துவிட, (இந்நகர) பிரதானிகள் ஆலோசனை செய்து கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்; ஆதலால், நீர் (இங்கிருந்து) வெளியேறிவிடும்; நிச்சயமாக நான் (உம்முடைய நன்மையைக் கருதி) உபதேசம் செய்பவர்களிலுள்ளவனாவேன்” என்று கூறினார்.

Then there came a man rushing from the farthest end of the city, and said, “O Moses, the chiefs are conspiring to kill you, so leave. I am giving you a sincere advice.”

Fakharaja minha khaifan yataraqqabu qala rabbi najjinee mina alqawmi alththalimeena

So he escaped from there, looking about in a state of fear. He said: "My Lord! Save me from the people who are Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers)!"

So he left it, fearful and anticipating [apprehension]. He said, "My Lord, save me from the wrongdoing people."

ஆகவே, அவர் (தன்னை மக்கள் என்ன செய்யப் போகின்றனரோ என்று) கவலைப்பட்டுப் பயந்தவராக அவ்வூரை விட்டு வெளியேறி, "என் இறைவனே! இவ்வக்கிரமக்கார மக்களிடமிருந்து நீ என்னை பாதுகாத்துக் கொள்வாயாக!" என்று பிரார்த்தித்தார்.

ஆகவே, அவர் பயத்துடனும், கவனமாகவும் அ(ந் நகரத்)தை விட்டுக் கிளம்பி விட்டார்; “என் இறைவா! இந்த அக்கிரமக்கார சமூகத்தாரை விட்டும் நீ என்னைக் காப்பாற்றுவாயாக!” என்று பிரார்த்தித்தார்.

ஆகவே, அவர் பயந்தவராக (தன்னைப்பற்றி கவலைப்பட்டு அங்குமிங்கும் திரும்பி) கவனித்தவராக அ(வ்வூரான)தைவிட்டு வெளியேறி, “என் இரட்சகனே! அநியாயக்காரர்களின் கூட்டத்திலிருந்து என்னை நீ காப்பாற்றுவாயாக!” என்று கூறினார்.

So he left the city, fearful and vigilant. He said, “My Lord, save me from the wrongdoing people.”

Walamma tawajjaha tilqaa madyana qala AAasa rabbee an yahdiyanee sawaa alssabeeli

And when he went towards (the land of) Madyan (Midian), he said: "It may be that my Lord guides me to the Right Way."

And when he directed himself toward Madyan, he said, "Perhaps my Lord will guide me to the sound way."

அவர் "மத்யன்" பக்கம் செல்லக் கருதிய சமயத்தில் (அதன் வழியை அறியாததனால்) "என் இறைவன் அதற்குரிய நேரான வழியை எனக்கு அறிவிக்கக்கூடும்" (என்று தமக்குள்ளாகவே கூறிக்கொண்டு சென்றார்.)

பின்னர், அவர் மத்யன் (நாட்டின்) பக்கம் சென்ற போது, “என் இறைவன் என்னை நேரான பாதையில் செலுத்தக் கூடும்” என்று கூறினார்.

இன்னும், அவர் மத்யன் (நகரத்தின்) பக்கம் முன்னோக்கிச் சென்ற சமயத்தில், “என் இரட்சகன் (அதற்குரிய) நேரான வழியில் என்னை செலுத்தப் போதுமானவன்” என்று கூறினார்.

When he headed towards Midian, he said, “My Lord will surely guide me to a straight way.”

Walamma warada maa madyana wajada AAalayhi ommatan mina alnnasi yasqoona wawajada min doonihimu imraatayni tathoodani qala ma khatbukuma qalata la nasqee hatta yusdira alrriAAao waaboona shaykhun kabeerun

And when he arrived at the water (a well) of Madyan (Midian), he found there a group of men watering (their flocks), and besides them he found two women who were keeping back (their flocks). He said: "What is the matter with you?" They said: "We cannot water (our flocks) until the shepherds take (their flocks). And our father is a very old man."

And when he came to the well of Madyan, he found there a crowd of people watering [their flocks], and he found aside from them two women driving back [their flocks]. He said, "What is your circumstance?" They said, "We do not water until the shepherds dispatch [their flocks]; and our father is an old man."

(அவ்வாறு சென்ற அவர்) மத்யன் நகரத்தி(ன் வெளியி) லிருந்த ஒரு கிணற்றின் சமீபமாக வந்தபொழுது ஒரு கூட்டத்தினர் (தங்கள் ஆடு, மாடு, ஆகிய கால்நடைகளுக்குத்) தண்ணீர் புகட்டிக் கொண்டிருப்பதையும், அதற்கருகில் இரு பெண்கள் (தங்கள் ஆட்டு மந்தையை) வளைத்து(த் தடுத்து நிறுத்தி)க் கொண்டிருப்பதையும் கண்டு (அப்பெண்களை நோக்கி) "உங்கள் விஷயமென்ன? (எதற்காக நீங்கள் தேங்கி நிற்கிறீர்கள்?)" என்று கேட்டார். அதற்கு அவ்விரு பெண்களும் "இம்மேய்ப்பர்கள் (தங்கள் கால்நடைகளுக்குத் தண்ணீர் புகட்டிக்கொண்டு இங்கிருந்து) விலகும் வரையில் நாங்கள் (எங்கள் ஆடுகளுக்குத்) தண்ணீர் புகட்ட முடியாது. எங்கள் தந்தையோ வயதடைந்த கிழவர். (அவர் இங்கு வர முடியாததால் நாங்களே இவைகளை ஓட்டி வந்திருக்கிறோம்)" என்றார்கள்.

இன்னும், அவர் மத்யன் நாட்டுத் தண்ணீர்(த் துறையின்) அருகே வந்தபோது, அவ்விடத்தில் ஒரு கூட்டத்தினர் (தம் கால் நடைகளுக்குத்) தண்ணீர் புகட்டிக் கொண்டிருந்ததைக் கண்டார்; அவர்களைத் தவிர, பெண்கள் இருவர் (தங்கள் ஆடுகளுக்குத் தண்ணீர் புகட்டாது) ஒதுங்கி நின்றதைக் கண்டார்; “உங்களிருவரின் விஷயம் என்ன?” என்று (அப்பெண்களிடம்) அவர் கேட்டார்; அதற்கு: “இம்மேய்ப்பவர்கள் (தண்ணீர் புகட்டிக் விட்டு) விலகும் வரை நாங்கள் எங்கள் (ஆடுகளுக்குத்) தண்ணீர் புகட்ட முடியாது - மேலும் எங்கள் தந்தை மிகவும் வயது முதிர்ந்தவர்” என்று அவ்விருவரும் கூறினார்கள்.

இன்னும், (அவ்வாறு சென்ற) அவர், மத்யன் (நகரத்தின் வெளியிலிருந்த) தண்ணீருக்கு (அதன் கிணற்றுக்கு அருகே) வந்தபொழுது, அங்கு ஜனங்களில் ஒரு கூட்டத்தினரை(த்தங்கள் ஆடு, மாடு முதலிய கால்நடைகளுக்குத்) தண்ணீர் புகட்டிக் கொண்டிருப்பவர்களாகக் கண்டார், இன்னும், அவர்களைத்தவிர இரு பெண்கள் (தங்கள் ஆட்டு மந்தையை) வளைத்து (நிறுத்தி)க் கொண்டிருப்பதையும் கண்டார், அப்பொழுது (அப்பெண்களிடம்) உங்கள் இருவரின் விஷயமென்ன? என்று கேட்டார், அதுக்கு “இம்மேய்ப்பாளர்கள் (தண்ணீர் புகட்டிவிட்டு) விலகும்வரை நாங்கள் தண்ணீர் புகட்ட முடியாது, எங்கள் தந்தையோ முதிர்ந்த வயதையுடைய பெரியவர்” என்று அவ்விருவரும் கூறினார்கள்.

When he arrived at the well of Midian, he found a crowd of people watering [their flocks] and found apart from them two women holding [their flocks] back. He said, “What is the matter with you?” They said, “We cannot water [them] until the shepherds take [their flocks] away, and our father is a very old man.”

Fasaqa lahuma thumma tawalla ila alththilli faqala rabbi innee lima anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqeerun

So he watered (their flocks) for them, then he turned back to shade, and said: "My Lord! Truly, I am in need of whatever good that You bestow on me!"

So he watered [their flocks] for them; then he went back to the shade and said, "My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need."

(இதைச் செவியுற்ற மூஸா) அவ்விரு பெண்களுடைய கால்நடைகளுக்குத் தண்ணீர் (இறைத்துப்) புகட்டிவிட்டு(ச் சிறிது) விலகி ஒரு (மரத்தின்) நிழலில் அமர்ந்துகொண்டு "என் இறைவனே! எதை நீ எனக்குத் தந்தபோதிலும் நிச்சயமாக நான் அதனை விரும்பக்கூடியவனாகவே இருக்கிறேன்" என்று பிரார்த்தித்தார்.

ஆகையால், அவ்விருவருக்குமாக அவர் (ஆட்டு மந்தைக்குத்) தண்ணீர் புகட்டினார்; பிறகு அவர் (ஒரு மர) நிழலில் ஒதுங்கி: “என் இறைவா! நீ எனக்கு இறக்கியருளும் நல்லவற்றின்பால் நிச்சயமாக நான் தேவையுள்ளவனாக இருக்கின்றேன்” என்று கூறினார்.

ஆகவே அவர் அவ்விருவரு(டைய கால்நடைகளு)க்குத் தண்ணீர் (இறைத்துப்) புகட்டினார். அதன்பின்னர் அவர் ஒரு (மரத்தின்) நிழலின் பக்கம் திரும்பி, “என் இரட்சகனே! என்பால் எந்த நன்மையை நீ இறக்கிவைக்கிறாயோ நிச்சயமாக நான் (அதற்குத்) தேவையுடையவனாக இருக்கிறேன்” என்று கூறினார்.

So he watered [their flocks] for them, then he turned to the shade and said, “My Lord, I am desperately in need of whatever good You may send down to me.”

Fajaathu ihdahuma tamshee AAala istihyain qalat inna abee yadAAooka liyajziyaka ajra ma saqayta lana falamma jaahu waqassa AAalayhi alqasasa qala la takhaf najawta mina alqawmi alththalimeena

Then there came to him one of the two women, walking shyly. She said: "Verily, my father calls you that he may reward you for having watered (our flocks) for us." So when he came to him and narrated the story, he said: "Fear you not. You have escaped from the people who are Zâlimûn (polytheists, disbelievers, and wrongdoers)."

Then one of the two women came to him walking with shyness. She said, "Indeed, my father invites you that he may reward you for having watered for us." So when he came to him and related to him the story, he said, "Fear not. You have escaped from the wrongdoing people."

அச்சமயம் (அவ்விரு பெண்களில்) ஒருத்தி மிக்க நாணத்துடன் இவர் முன் வந்து "நீங்கள் எங்க(ள் கால்நடைக)ளுக்குத் தண்ணீர் புகட்டியதற்குரிய கூலியை உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கும் பொருட்டு மெய்யாகவே என் தந்தை உங்களை அழைக்கிறார்" என்று கூறி அழைத்துச் சென்றாள். மூஸா அவரிடம் சென்று தன் சரித்திரத்தைக் கூறவே அவர் (இனி) "நீங்கள் பயப்படவேண்டாம். அநியாயக்கார மக்களைவிட்டு நீங்கள் தப்பித்துக் கொண்டீர்கள்" என்று கூறினார்.

(சிறிது நேரத்திற்குப்) பிறகு அவ்விரு பெண்களில் ஒருவர் நாணத்துடன் நடந்து மூஸாவின் முன் வந்து; “எங்களுக்காக நீங்கள் தண்ணீர் புகட்டியதற்கான கூலியை உங்களுக்கு வழங்குவதற்காக எங்கள் தந்தை உங்களை அழைக்கிறார்” என்று கூறினார்; இவ்வாறாக மூஸா அவரிடம் வந்தபோது தம் வரலாற்றை எடுத்துச் சொன்னார்; அதற்கவர்; “பயப்படாதீர்! அக்கிரமக்கார சமூகத்தாரை விட்டும் நீர் தப்பித்துவிட்டீர்” என்று கூறினார்.

(சிறிது நேரத்திற்குப்) பிறகு அவ்விருவரில் ஒருத்தி மிக்க நாணத்துடன் நடந்து அவரிடம் வந்து, “ நீர் எங்(கள் கால்நடை)களுக்குத் தண்ணீர் புகட்டியதற்குரிய கூலியை உமக்குக் கொடுப்பதற்காக நிச்சயமாக என் தந்தை உம்மை அழைக்கிறார்” என்று கூறினாள். (இவ்வாறாக) மூஸா அவரிடம் வந்து (தன்) வரலாற்றைக் கூறவே, அவர் “நீர் பயப்படவேண்டாம், அநியாயக்காரர்களான கூட்டத்தாரைவிட்டு நீர் தப்பித்து விட்டீர்” என்று கூறினார்.

Then one of the two women came to him, walking modestly. She said, “My father is inviting you so that he may reward you for watering [our flocks] for us.” When he came to him and told him the whole story, he said, “Have no fear. You are now safe from the wrongdoing people.”

Qalat ihdahuma ya abati istajirhu inna khayra mani istajarta alqawiyyu alameenu

And said one of them (the two women): "O my father! Hire him! Verily, the best of men for you to hire is the strong, the trustworthy."

One of the women said, "O my father, hire him. Indeed, the best one you can hire is the strong and the trustworthy."

(அத்தருணத்தில், அவ்விரு பெண்களில் ஒருத்தி தன் தந்தையை நோக்கி) "என் தந்தையே! நீங்கள் இவரைக் கூலிக்கு அமர்த்திக் கொள்ளுங்கள். நீங்கள் கூலிக்கு அமர்த்தியவர் களிலேயே மிகச் சிறந்தவர் நம்பிக்கைக்குரிய (இந்த) பலசாலியே ஆவார்" என்று கூறினாள்.

அவ்விரு பெண்களில் ஒருவர் கூறினார்; “என் அருமைத் தந்தையே! நீங்கள் இவரைக் கூலிக்கு அமர்த்திக் கொள்ளுங்கள்; நீங்கள் கூலிக்கு அமர்த்துபவர்களில் நிச்சயமாக இவர் மிகவும் மேலானவர்; பலமுள்ளவர்; நம்பிக்கையானவர்.”

(அப்போது) அவ்விருவரில் ஒருத்தி “என் தந்தையே! நீங்கள் இவரைக்கூலிக்கு வைத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள். நீங்கள் கூலிக்குவைத்துக் கொண்டவர்களில் நிச்சயமாக (இவர்) மிகச்சிறந்த பலமிக்கவர், நம்பிக்கைக்குரியவர் ஆவார்” என்று கூறினாள்.

One of the two daughters said, “O dear father, hire him; the best one you can hire is the strong and trustworthy.”

Qala innee oreedu an onkihaka ihda ibnatayya hatayni AAala an tajuranee thamaniya hijajin fain atmamta AAashran famin AAindika wama oreedu an ashuqqa AAalayka satajidunee in shaa Allahu mina alssaliheena

He said: "I intend to wed one of these two daughters of mine to you, on condition that you serve me for eight years; but if you complete ten years, it will be (a favour) from you. But I intend not to place you under a difficulty. If Allâh wills, you will find me one of the righteous."

He said, "Indeed, I wish to wed you one of these, my two daughters, on [the condition] that you serve me for eight years; but if you complete ten, it will be [as a favor] from you. And I do not wish to put you in difficulty. You will find me, if Allah wills, from among the righteous."

அதற்கு அவர் (மூஸாவிடம்) கூறினார்: "நீங்கள் எனக்கு எட்டு வருடங்கள் வேலை செய்ய வேண்டுமென்ற நிபந்தனையின் மீது இவ்விரு பெண்களில் ஒருத்தியை நான் உங்களுக்கு திருமணம் செய்து கொடுக்க விரும்புகிறேன். நீங்கள் அதைப் பத்து வருடங்களாக முழுமை செய்தால், அது நீங்கள் எனக்கு செய்யும் நன்றிதான். நான் உங்களுக்கு (அதிகமான) சிரமத்தைக் கொடுக்க விரும்பவில்லை. அல்லாஹ் நாடினால், நீங்கள் என்னை உங்களுக்கு உபகாரியாகவே காண்பீர்கள்" (என்றார்).

(அப்போது அவர் மூஸாவிடம்) கூறினார்: “நீர் எனக்கு எட்டு ஆண்டுகள் வேலை செய்யவேண்டும் என்ற நிபந்தனையின் மீது, என்னுடைய இவ்விரு பெண்களில் ஒருவரை உமக்கு மணமுடித்துக் கொடுக்க நிச்சயமாக நான் நாடுகிறேன் - ஆயினும், நீர் பத்து (ஆண்டுகள்) பூர்த்தி செய்தால், அது உம் விருப்பம்; நான் உமக்கு சிரமத்தை கொடுக்க விரும்பவில்லை. இன்ஷா அல்லாஹ், என்னை நல்லவர்களில் உள்ளவராக காண்பீர்.”

அ(தற்க)வர் (மூஸாவிடம்) “நீர் எனக்கு எட்டு வருடங்கள் (ஆடு மேய்த்து) வேலை செய்ய வேண்டுமென்ற நிபந்தனையின்மீது என்னுடைய இவ்விரு குமாரத்திகளில் ஒருத்தியை நான் உமக்குத் திருமணம் செய்து கொடுக்க நிச்சயமாக நான் நாடுகிறேன், நீர் (அதைப்) பத்துவருடங்ககளாகப் பூர்த்தி செய்தால் (அது உம்விருப்பப்படி) உம்மிடத்திலிருந்தாகும், நான் உமக்கு சிரமத்தை உண்டாக்க நாடவில்லை, அல்லாஹ் நாடினால், நீர் என்னை நல்லவர்களில் உள்ள (ஒரு)வராகவே காண்பீர்” என்று கூறினார்.

He said, “I would like to give you one of these two daughters of mine in marriage, provided that you serve me for eight years; if you complete ten, it will be of your own free will. I do not want to make things difficult for you. You will find me, if Allah wills, from among the righteous.”

Qala thalika baynee wabaynaka ayyama alajalayni qadaytu fala AAudwana AAalayya waAllahu AAala ma naqoolu wakeelun

He [Mûsâ (Moses)] said: "That (is settled) between me and you: whichever of the two terms I fulfil, there will be no injustice to me, and Allâh is Surety over what we say."

[Moses] said, "That is [established] between me and you. Whichever of the two terms I complete - there is no injustice to me, and Allah, over what we say, is Witness."

அதற்கு மூஸா "உங்களுக்கும் நமக்குமிடையே இதுவே (உடன் படிக்கையாகும்). இவ்விரு நிபந்தனைகளில் எதனையும் நான் நிறைவேற்றலாம். (இன்னதைத்தான் நிறைவேற்ற வேண்டுமென்று) என்மீது கட்டாயமில்லை. நாம் பேசிக்கொண்ட இவ்வுடன் படிக்கைக்கு அல்லாஹ்வே பொறுப்பாளன்" என்று கூறினார்.

(அதற்கு மூஸா) கூறினார்: “இதுவே எனக்கும் உங்களுக்குமிடையே (ஒப்பந்தமாகும்), இவ்விரு தவணைகளில் நான் எதை நிறைவேற்றினாலும் என் மீது குற்றமில்லை - நாம் பேசிக் கொள்வதற்கு அல்லாஹ்வே சாட்சியாக இருக்கிறான்.

அதற்கு (மூஸா) அது “எனக்கும், உங்களுக்குமிடையில் உள்ளதாகும். இரு தவணைகளில் எதனை நான் நிறைவேற்றினாலும் என்மீது குற்றமில்லை, நாம் கூறுவதற்கு அல்லாஹ்வே சாட்சியாளன்” என்று கூறினார்.

Moses said, “Let that be the agreement between me and you. Whichever of the two terms I complete, there will be no further obligation on me, and Allah is Witness over what we say.”

Falamma qada moosaalajala wasara biahlihi anasa min janibi alttoori naran qala liahlihi omkuthoo innee anastu naran laAAallee ateekum minha bikhabarin aw jathwatin mina alnnari laAAallakum tastaloona

Then, when Mûsâ (Moses) had fulfilled the term, and was travelling with his family, he saw a fire in the direction of Tûr (Mount). He said to his family: "Wait, I have seen a fire; perhaps I may bring to you from there some information, or a burning firebrand that you may warm yourselves."

And when Moses had completed the term and was traveling with his family, he perceived from the direction of the mount a fire. He said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire. Perhaps I will bring you from there [some] information or burning wood from the fire that you may warm yourselves."

மூஸா தன்னுடைய தவணையை முழுமை செய்து (அவருடைய புதல்வியை திருமணம் செய்துகொண்டு) தன்னுடைய குடும்பத்தாரை அழைத்துக் கொண்டு சென்றபொழுது (ஓர் இரவு வழி தெரியாது திகைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்த சமயத்தில்) தூர் ("ஸீனாய்" என்னும்) மலையின் பக்கத்தில் ஒரு நெருப்பைக் கண்டு, தன் குடும்பத்தினரை நோக்கி "நீங்கள் (சிறிது) தாமதித்து இருங்கள். நான் ஒரு நெருப்பைக் காண்கிறேன். நான் (அங்குச் சென்று நாம் செல்லவேண்டிய) பாதையைப் பற்றி யாதொரு தகவலை உங்களுக்குக் கொண்டு வரக்கூடும். அல்லது நீங்கள் குளிர் காய்வதற்கேனும் ஒரு எரி கொள்ளியைக் கொண்டு வருகிறேன்" என்று கூறினார்.

ஆகவே மூஸா (தம்) தவணையை முடித்துக்கொண்டு, தம் குடும்பத்துடன் பயணம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்த போது; “தூர்” (மலையின்) பக்கத்தில் ஒரு நெருப்பைக் கண்டார்; அவர் தம் குடும்பத்தாரிடம் “நீங்கள் (இங்கு சிறிது) தங்குங்கள்; நிச்சயமாக, நான் ஒரு நெருப்பைக் காண்கின்றேன். நான் உங்களுக்கு அதிலிருந்து ஒரு செய்தியையோ, அல்லது நீங்கள் குளிர் காயும் பொருட்டு, ஒரு நெருப்புக் கங்கையோ கொண்டு வருகிறேன்” என்று கூறினார்.

ஆகவே, மூஸா (தம்) தவணையை முடித்துக் கொண்டு தன் குடும்பத்தினருடன் (இரவில்) பயணம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்த பொழுது, (வழி தெரியாது திகைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்த சமயத்தில்) தூர் (ஸீனாய் மலையின்) புறத்திலிருந்து ஒரு நெருப்பைப் பார்த்தார், தன் குடும்பத்தினரிடம், “நீங்கள் தங்கியிருங்கள், நிச்சயமாக நான் ஒரு நெருப்பைக் காண்கிறேன், அதிலிருந்து (பாதையைப் பற்றிய) ஒரு தகவலையோ அல்லது நீங்கள் குளிர்க்காய்வதற்காக நெருப்பின் ஒரு பந்தத்தையோ உங்களுக்கு நான் கொண்டுவரக்கூடும்” என்று கூறினார்.

When Moses had completed the term and was traveling with his family, he spotted a fire in the direction of Mount Tūr. He said to his family, “Stay here; I have spotted a fire. Perhaps I will bring you from there some news or a brand of fire so that you may warm yourselves.”

Falamma ataha noodiya min shatii alwadi alaymani fee albuqAAati almubarakati mina alshshajarati an ya moosa innee ana Allahu rabbu alAAalameena

So when he reached it (the fire), he was called from the right side of the valley, in the blessed place, from the tree: "O Mûsâ (Moses)! Verily, I am Allâh, the Lord of the 'آlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists)!

But when he came to it, he was called from the right side of the valley in a blessed spot - from the tree, "O Moses, indeed I am Allah, Lord of the worlds."

அவர் அதனிடம் வந்தபொழுது, மிக்க பாக்கியம் பெற்ற அந்த மைதானத்தின் ஓடையின் வலது பக்கத்திலுள்ள ஒரு மரத்தில் இருந்து "மூஸாவே! நிச்சயமாக உலகத்தாரை படைத்து வளர்த்து காக்கும் அல்லாஹ் நான்தான்" என்ற சப்தத்தைக் கேட்டார்.

அவர் நெருப்பின் அருகே வந்த போது, (அங்குள்ள) பாக்கியம் பெற்ற அப் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலுள்ள ஓடையின் வலப்பக்கத்தில் (ஒரு) மரத்திலிருந்து: “மூஸாவே! நிச்சயமாக நானே அகிலத்தாருக்கெல்லாம் இறைவனாகிய அல்லாஹ்!” என்று கூப்பிடப்பட்டார்.

அவர் அதனிடம் வந்தபொழுது, மிக்க பாக்கியம் பெற்ற பகுதியிலுள்ள வலப்பக்கத்திலுள்ள ஓடையின் ஓர் மரத்திலிருந்து, “மூஸாவே! நிச்சயமாக நானே அகிலத்தாரின் இரட்சகனாகிய அல்லாஹ்” என அழைக்கப்பட்டார்.

But when he came to it, he was called from the tree in the sacred ground on the right side of the valley: “O Moses, I am Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

Waan alqi AAasaka falamma raaha tahtazzu kaannaha jannun walla mudbiran walam yuAAaqqib ya moosa aqbil wala takhaf innaka mina alamineena

"And throw your stick!" But when he saw it moving as if it were a snake, he turned in flight, and looked not back. (It was said:) "O Mûsâ (Moses)! Draw near, and fear not. Verily, you are of those who are secure.

And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it was a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allah said], "O Moses, approach and fear not. Indeed, you are of the secure.

(அன்றி) "நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய தடியை எறியுங்கள்" (என்றும் அவருக்குக் கூறப்பட்டது. அவ்வாறே அதனை அவர் எறியவே) அது பெரியதொரு பாம்பாகி நெளிவதைக் கண்ட அவர் (பயந்து) அதனைப் பின்தொடராது திரும்பி ஓடினார். (அச்சமயத்தில் அவரை நோக்கி) "மூஸாவே! பயப்படாது நீங்கள் முன் வாருங்கள்! நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் அச்சமற்றவர்.

“உம் கைத்தடியைக் கீழே எறியும்” என்றும் (கட்டளையிடப்பட்டார். அவ்வாறு எறிந்ததும்) அது பாம்பைப் போன்று நெளிவதைக் கண்டு, அவர் திரும்பிப் பார்க்காமல் பின் வாங்கி ஓடினார்; (அப்பொழுது): “மூஸாவே! முன்னோக்கி வாரும்! இன்னும், அஞ்சாதீர்; நீர் அடைக்கலம் பெற்றவர்களில் உள்ளவர்.”

அன்றியும் ‘நீர் உம்முடைய தடியைப் போடுவீராக! (என்று அவருக்குக் கூறப்பட்டது.) அப்பொழுது நிச்சயமாக அது பெரியதொரு பாம்பைப் போன்று மிகவேகமாக நெளிவதைக்கண்டு (பயந்து) அவர் திரும்பிப் பார்க்காதவராக (அதனைவிட்டும் விலகி) புறமுதுகிட்டுத் திரும்பினார். (அச்சமயத்தில்) ”மூஸாவே! நீர் முன்னோக்கிவாரும், இன்னும் நீர் பயப்படாதீர், நிச்சயமாக நீர் அச்சமற்றவர்களில் உள்ளவராவீர்” (என்றும் சொல்லப்பட்டது).

Throw down your staff.” But when he saw it slithering as if it were a snake, he turned and ran away without looking back. [Allah said], “O Moses, come back, and have no fear; you are perfectly safe.

Osluk yadaka fee jaybika takhruj baydaa min ghayri sooin waodmum ilayka janahaka mina alrrahbi fathanika burhanani min rabbika ila firAAawna wamalaihi innahum kanoo qawman fasiqeena

"Put your hand in your bosom, it will come forth white without a disease; and draw your hand close to your side to be free from the fear (which you suffered from the snake, and also your hand will return to its original state). These are two Burhân (signs, miracles, evidences, proofs) from your Lord to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs. Verily, they are the people who are Fâsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allâh)."

Insert your hand into the opening of your garment; it will come out white, without disease. And draw in your arm close to you [as prevention] from fear, for those are two proofs from your Lord to Pharaoh and his establishment. Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient."

உங்களுடைய சட்டைப் பையில் உங்களுடைய கையைப் புகுத்துங்கள். அது மாசற்ற பிரகாசமுள்ள வெண்மையாக வெளிப்படும். நீங்கள் பயப்படாதிருக்கும் பொருட்டு உங்களுடைய கைகளை உங்களுடைய விலாவில் சேர்த்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள். ஃபிர்அவ்னிடமும் அவனுடைய தலைவர்களிடமும் நீங்கள் செல்லும் பொருட்டு இவ்விரண்டும் உங்கள் இறைவனால் உங்களுக்கு அளிக்கப்பட்ட இரு அத்தாட்சிகளாகும். நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் பாவம் செய்யும் மக்களாக இருக்கிறார்கள்" (என்று அவருக்குக் கூறப்பட்டது).

உம் கையை உம் சட்டைக்குள் புகுத்தும்; அது ஒளி மிக்கதாய், மாசற்ற வெண்மையாக வெளிவரும்; இன்னும், நீர் அச்சப்படுங்காலை உம்முடைய கைகளை உம் விலாவில் சேர்த்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள் - இவ்விரண்டும் ஃபிர்அவ்னுக்கும், அவனுடைய பிரதானிகளுக்கும் உரிய, உம் இறைவனால் அளிக்கப்பட்ட இரு அத்தாட்சிகளாகும்; நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் பாவம் செய்யும் சமூகத்தாராகவே இருக்கின்றார்கள்” (என்றும் அவருக்கு கூறப்பட்டது).

“உம்முடைய சட்டைப்பைக்குள் உம்முடைய கையை நுழைப்பீராக, அது எவ்விததீங்கின்றி (பிரகாசமுள்ள) வெண்மையாக வெளிப்படும், பயத்திலிருந்து (விடுபட) உம்முடைய புஜங்களை உம் (விலாவின்) பால் சேர்த்துக் கொள்வீராக! இவ்விரண்டும் ஃபிர் அவ்னுக்கும், அவனுடைய பிரதானிகளுக்கும் (நீர் எடுத்துச் செல்வதற்கு) உரிய உமதிரட்சகனிடமிருந்து இரு அத்தாட்சிகளாகும், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் பாவம் செய்யும் கூட்டதினர்களாகவே இருக்கிறார்கள்” (என்றும் அவருக்குக் கூறப்பட்டது).

Put your hand into your garment, it will come out shining white without blemish; and draw your arms tight to you to calm your fear. These are two proofs from your Lord to Pharaoh and his chiefs, for they are indeed a rebellious people.”

Qala rabbi innee qataltu minhum nafsan faakhafu an yaqtulooni

He said: "My Lord! I have killed a man among them, and I fear that they will kill me.

He said, "My Lord, indeed, I killed from among them someone, and I fear they will kill me.

அதற்கவர் "என் இறைவனே! மெய்யாகவே நான் அவர்களில் ஒருவரைக் கொலை செய்திருக்கிறேன். அதற்கு(ப் பழியாக) என்னை அவர்கள் வெட்டி விடுவார்கள் என்று நான் பயப்படுகிறேன். (அன்றி, என் நாவிலுள்ள கொன்னலின் காரணமாக என்னால் தெளிவாகப் பேசவும் முடிவதில்லை.)

(அதற்கு அவர்): “என் இறைவா! நிச்சயமாக, நான் அவர்களில் ஒருவனைக் கொன்று விட்டேன்; ஆகையால் அவர்கள் என்னைக் கொலை செய்து விடுவார்கள் என்று பயப்படுகிறேன்” என்று கூறினார்.

அ(தற்க)வர், “என் இரட்சகனே! நிச்சயமாக நான் அவர்களில் ஒருவரைக் கொலை செய்திருக்கின்றேன், ஆகவே அதற்கு(ப் பகரமாக) என்னை அவர்கள் கொலை செய்துவிடுவார்கள் என்று நான் பயப்படுகிறேன்” என்று கூறினார்.

Moses said, “My Lord, I have killed one of their men, and I fear that they may kill me.

Waakhee haroonu huwa afsahu minnee lisanan faarsilhu maAAiya ridan yusaddiqunee innee akhafu an yukaththibooni

"And my brother Hârûn (Aaron) – he is more eloquent in speech than me: so send him with me as a helper to confirm me. Verily, I fear that they will deny me."

And my brother Aaron is more fluent than me in tongue, so send him with me as support, verifying me. Indeed, I fear that they will deny me."

என்னுடைய சகோதரர் ஹாரூனோ என்னைவிட தெளிவாகப் பேசக்கூடியவர். அவரை நீ எனக்கு உதவியாக என்னுடன் அனுப்பிவை. அவர் என்னை உண்மைப்படுத்தி வைப்பார். (நான் தனியே சென்றால்) அவர்கள் என்னைப் பொய்யாக்கி விடுவார்கள் என்று நிச்சயமாக நான் பயப்படுகிறேன்" என்று கூறினார்.

இன்னும்: “என் சகோதரர் ஹாரூன் - அவர் என்னை விடப் பேச்சில் மிக்க தெளிவானவர்; ஆகவே என்னுடன் உதவியாய் நீ அவரை அனுப்பி வைப்பாயாக! என்னை அவர் மெய்ப்பிப்பார். நிச்சயமாக, அவர்கள் என்னைப் பொய்ப்பிப்பார்கள் என்று நான் பயப்படுகிறேன்” (என்றுங் கூறினார்).

“மேலும், என்னுடைய சகோதரர் ஹாருன், அவர் என்னைவிட பேச்சால் மிகத் தெளிவானவர், ஆகவே அவரை எனக்கு உதவியாக என்னுடன் நீ அனுப்பிவை, அவர் என்னை உண்மைப்படுத்திவைப்பார், அவர்கள் என்னைப் பொய்யாக்கிவிடுவதை நிச்சயமாக நான் பயப்படுகிறேன்” (என்று கூறினார்).

My brother Aaron is more eloquent than me in speech, so send him with me as a helper to confirm my words, for I fear that they may reject me.”

Qala sanashuddu AAadudaka biakheeka wanajAAalu lakuma sultanan fala yasiloona ilaykuma biayatina antuma wamani ittabaAAakuma alghaliboona

Allâh said: "We will strengthen your arm through your brother, and give you both power, so they shall not be able to harm you, with Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.); you two as well as those who follow you, will be the victors."

[Allah] said, "We will strengthen your arm through your brother and grant you both supremacy so they will not reach you. [It will be] through Our signs; you and those who follow you will be the predominant."

அதற்கு இறைவன் "உங்கள் சகோதரரைக் கொண்டு உங்கள் தோள்களை நாம் வலுப்படுத்துவோம். நாம் உங்களுக்கு வெற்றியையும் தருவோம். அவர்கள் உங்களை நெருங்கவும் முடியாது. நீங்கள் நம்முடைய (இந்த) அத்தாட்சிகளுடன் (தயக்கமின்றிச் செல்லுங்கள்.) நீங்களும் உங்கள் இருவரைப் பின்பற்றியவர்களும்தான் வெற்றி பெருவீர்கள்" என்று கூறினான்.

(அல்லாஹ்) கூறினான்: “நாம் உம் கையை உம் சகோதரரைக் கொண்டு வலுப்படுத்துவோம்; நாம் உங்கள் இருவருக்குமே வெற்றியளிப்போம்; ஆகவே, அவர்கள் உங்களிருவரையும் நெருங்கவும் முடியாது; நம்முடைய அத்தாட்சிகளைக் கொண்டு, நீங்களிருவரும், உங்களைப் பின்பற்றுவோரும் மிகைத்து விடுவீர்கள்.”

(அதற்கு அல்லாஹ்) “உம் சகோதரரைக் கொண்டு உம் புஜத்தை நாம் வலுப்படுத்துவோம், நாம் உங்களிருவருக்குமே வெற்றியைத் தருவோம், ஆகவே அவர்கள் உங்களிருவர்பால் நெருங்கமாட்டார்கள், நீங்கள் நம்முடைய அத்தாட்சிகளுடன் (செல்லுங்கள்), நீங்களிருவரும் உங்கள் இருவரைப் பின்பற்றுவோரும்தான் வெற்றி பெறக்கூடியவர்கள்” என்று கூறினான்.

Allah said, “We will strengthen you through your brother and give you both power, so they cannot harm you. With Our signs, you and your followers will prevail.”

Falamma jaahum moosa biayatina bayyinatin qaloo ma hatha illa sihrun muftaran wama samiAAna bihatha fee abaina alawwaleena

Then when Mûsâ (Moses) came to them with Our Clear Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), they said: "This is nothing but invented magic. Never did we hear of this among our fathers of old."

But when Moses came to them with Our signs as clear evidences, they said, "This is not except invented magic, and we have not heard of this [religion] among our forefathers."

நம்முடைய தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகளுடன் மூஸா அவர்களிடம் வந்தபொழுது அவர்கள் "இது சூனியத்தைத் தவிர வேறில்லை. முன்னிருந்த எங்கள் மூதாதைகளிடத்திலும் இத்தகைய விஷயத்தை நாம் கேள்விப்படவில்லை" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

ஆகவே, மூஸா அவர்களிடம் நம்முடைய தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகளுடன் வந்தபோது, அவர்கள்: “இது இட்டுக் கட்டப்பட்ட சூனியமே அன்றி வேறில்லை; இன்னும் நம்முடைய முன்னோர்களான நம் மூதாதையர்களிடத்திலும் இதைக் கேள்விப்பட்டதில்லை” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

எனவே, மூஸா அவர்களிடம் நம்முடைய தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகளுடன் வந்தபொழுது, அவர்கள், “இது இட்டுக்கட்டப்பட்ட சூனியத்தைத் தவிர வேறில்லை, முன்னோர்களான எங்கள் மூதாதையரிடத்திலும் இ(வ்விஷயத்)தை நாங்கள் கேள்விப்படவுமில்லை” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

When Moses came to them with Our clear signs, they said, “This is nothing but fabricated magic; we have not heard of this from our earlier ancestors.”

Waqala moosa rabbee aAAlamu biman jaa bialhuda min AAindihi waman takoonu lahu AAaqibatu alddari innahu la yuflihu alththalimoona

Mûsâ (Moses) said: "My Lord knows best him who came with guidance from Him, and whose will be the happy end in the Hereafter. Verily, the Zâlimûn (wrong doers, polytheists and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh) will not be successful."

And Moses said, "My Lord is more knowing [than we or you] of who has come with guidance from Him and to whom will be succession in the home. Indeed, wrongdoers do not succeed."

அதற்கு மூஸா "தன் இறைவனிடமிருந்து நேரான வழியைக் கொண்டு வந்தவன் யார் என்பதையும், நல்ல முடிவு யாருக்குக் கிடைக்கும் என்பதையும் என் இறைவனே நன்கறிவான். நிச்சயமாக (சூனியம் செய்யும்) அநியாயக்காரர்கள் வெற்றி பெறமாட்டார்கள்" என்று கூறினார்.

(அப்போது மூஸா) கூறினார்: “அவனிடமிருந்து நேர்வழியுடன் வருபவர் யாரென்றும்; இறுதி(யாக சுவன) வீடு யாருக்காக உள்ளது என்பதையும் என் இறைவன் நன்கறிவான். நிச்சயமாக அக்கிரமம் செய்வோர் வெற்றி பெற மாட்டார்கள்.”

(அதற்கு) மூஸா, ”என் இரட்சகன், தன்னிடமிருந்து நேர் வழியைக் கொண்டு வந்தவர் யார் என்பதையும், இறுதி(யில் சுவன) வீடு யாருக்குக் கிடைக்கும் என்பதையும் மிக அறிவான். நிச்சயமாக அநியாயக்காரர்கள் வெற்றி பெறமாட்டார்கள்” என்று கூறினார்.

Moses said, “My Lord knows best who has come with guidance from Him and who will have the best abode in the end. The wrongdoers will never succeed.”

Waqala firAAawnu ya ayyuha almalao ma AAalimtu lakum min ilahin ghayree faawqid lee ya hamanu AAala altteeni faijAAal lee sarhan laAAallee attaliAAu ila ilahi moosa wainnee laathunnuhu mina alkathibeena

Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "O chiefs! I know not that you have an ilâh (a god) other than me. So kindle for me (a fire), O Hâmân, to bake (bricks out of) clay, and set up for me a Sarhan (a lofty tower, or palace) in order that I may look at (or look for) the Ilâh (God) of Mûsâ (Moses); and verily, I think that he [Mûsâ (Moses)] is one of the liars."

And Pharaoh said, "O eminent ones, I have not known you to have a god other than me. Then ignite for me, O Haman, [a fire] upon the clay and make for me a tower that I may look at the God of Moses. And indeed, I do think he is among the liars."

அதற்கு ஃபிர்அவ்ன் (தன் மக்களில் உள்ள தலைவர்களை நோக்கி) "தலைவர்களே! என்னைத் தவிர வேறொரு இறைவன் உங்களுக்கு இருப்பதாக நான் அறியவில்லை. ஹாமானே! களிமண்(ணால் செய்த செங்கல்) சூளைக்கு நெருப்பு வை. (அச் செங்கற்களைக் கொண்டு வானளாவ) மாளிகையை நீ கட்டு. (அதில் ஏறி) மூஸாவினுடைய இறைவனை நான் பார்க்க வேண்டும். (அவர் தனக்கு வேறு இறைவன் இருப்பதாகக் கூறுகிறாரே!) இவ் விஷயத்தில் நிச்சயமாக அவர் பொய் சொல்வதாகவே நான் எண்ணுகிறேன்" என்று கூறினான்.

இன்னும் ஃபிர்அவ்ன் சொன்னான்: “பிரமுகர்களே! என்னைத்தவிர உங்களுக்கு வேறெரு நாயன் இருக்கின்றான் என்பதாக நான் அறியவில்லை. ஆதலின், ஹாமானே! களிமண் மீது எனக்காகத் தீயைமூட்டி (செங்கற்கள் செய்து) பிறகு எனக்காக ஓர் (உயரமான) மாளிகையைக் கட்டுவாயாக! (அதன் மேல் ஏறி) நான் மூஸாவின் இறைவனைப் பார்க்க வேண்டும் - மேலும் நிச்சயமாக நான் இவரை பொய்யர்களில் நின்றுமுள்ளவர்” என்றே கருதுகின்றேன்.

(அதற்கு) ஃபிர் அவன், “பிரதானிகளே! என்னைத் தவிர வேறொரு (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) நாயன் உங்களுக்கு இருப்பதாக நான் அறியவில்லை, ஆகவே, ஹாமானே! களிமண்ணின் மீது (_செங்கல் சூளைக்கு) எனக்காக நெருப்பை மூட்டி (அவற்றைக் கொண்டு மிக உயரமான) மாளிகையை எனக்காக நீ கட்டுவாயாக, (அதில் ஏறி) மூஸாவுடைய இரட்சகனை நான் எட்டிப் பார்க்க வேண்டும், (அவர்) தனக்கு வேறு இரட்சகன் இருப்பதாகக் கூறுகிறாரே, இவ்விஷயத்தில் நிச்சயமாக அவரைப் பொய்யர்களில் உள்ளவராகவே நான் எண்ணுகிறேன்” என்றும் கூறினான்.

Pharaoh said, “O chiefs, I do not know for you any god other than myself. So bake for me bricks out of clay, O Hāmān, and build for me a tower so that I may have a look at the God of Moses, for I think he is a liar.”

Waistakbara huwa wajunooduhu fee alardi bighayri alhaqqi wathannoo annahum ilayna la yurjaAAoona

And he and his hosts were arrogant in the land, without right, and they thought that they would never return to Us.

And he was arrogant, he and his soldiers, in the land, without right, and they thought that they would not be returned to Us.

அவனும் அவனுடைய இராணுவங்களும் நியாயமின்றிப் பூமியில் பெருமை அடித்துக்கொண்டு நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் நம்மிடம் (விசாரணைக்காக) கொண்டு வரப்பட மாட்டார்கள் என்றும் எண்ணிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

மேலும் அவனும் அவனுடைய படைகளும் பூமியில் நியாயமின்றிப் பெருமை அடித்துக் கொண்டனர், மேலும் அவர்கள் நம்மிடம் நிச்சயமாகத் திரும்பக்கொண்டு வரப்பட மாட்டார்கள் என்றும் எண்ணிக் கொண்டார்கள்.

அவனும், அவனுடைய படையினரும் நியாயமின்றி பூமியில் பெருமையடித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தனர், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் நம்பக்கம் திருப்பப்படமாட்டார்கள் என்றும் எண்ணிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

He and his soldiers were arrogant in the land without any right, and thought that they would not be brought back to Us.

Faakhathnahu wajunoodahu fanabathnahum fee alyammi faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu alththalimeena

So, We seized him and his hosts, and We threw them all into the sea (and drowned them). So, behold (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) what was the end of the Zâlimûn [wrong doers, polytheists and those who disbelieved in the Oneness of their Lord (Allâh), or rejected the advice of His Messenger Mûsâ (Moses) ['alayhis-salâm]].

So We took him and his soldiers and threw them into the sea. So see how was the end of the wrongdoers.

ஆதலால், நாம் அவனையும் அவனுடைய இராணுவங்களையும் பிடித்து அவர்களை கடலில் எறிந்து (மூழ்கடித்து) விட்டோம். (நபியே!) இவ்வக்கிரமக்காரர்களின் முடிவு எவ்வாறாயிற்று என்பதை நீங்கள் கவனியுங்கள்.

ஆகையால், நாம் அவனையும் அவன் படைகளையும் பிடித்தோம்; பிறகு அவர்களைக் கடலில் (மூழ்கி விடுமாறு) எறிந்து விட்டோம்; ஆகவே, அக்கிரமக்காரர்களின் முடிவு என்ன ஆயிற்றென்று (நபியே!) நீர் கவனித்துக் கொள்ளும்.

ஆதலால் நாம் அவனையும், அவனுடைய படையினரையும் பிடித்தோம், பின்னர் அவர்களைக் கடலில் எரிந்து விட்டோம், ஆகவே, (நபியே!) அநியாயக்காரர்களின் முடிவு எப்படி இருந்தது என்பதை நீர் கவனிப்பீராக.

So We seized him and his soldiers and flung them into the sea. See how was the end of the wrongdoers!

WajaAAalnahum aimmatan yadAAoona ila alnnari wayawma alqiyamati la yunsaroona

And We made them leaders inviting to the Fire: and on the Day of Resurrection, they will not be helped.

(அவர்கள் இவ்வுலகத்தில் இருந்தவரை மனிதர்களை) நரகத்திற்கு அழைக்கக்கூடிய தலைவர்களாகவே அவர்களை ஆக்கி வைத்தோம். மறுமை நாளிலோ அவர்களுக்கு எத்தகைய உதவியும் கிடைக்காது.

மேலும், (மக்களை நரக) நெருப்பிற்கு அழைத்துச் செல்லும் தலைவர்களாகவே நாம் அவர்களை ஆக்கியிருந்தோம்; இன்னும், கியாம நாளன்று அவர்கள் உதவி செய்யப்படமாட்டார்கள்.

மேலும், நரகத்தின் பக்கம் அழைக்கக்கூடிய தலைவர்களாகவே (இம்மையில்) நாம் அவர்களை ஆக்கிவைத்திருந்தோம். இன்னும், மறுமை நாளில் அவர்கள் (எவராலும்) உதவி செய்யப்படமாட்டர்கள்.

We made them leaders calling to the Fire, and on the Day of Resurrection they will not be helped.

WaatbaAAnahum fee hathihi alddunya laAAnatan wayawma alqiyamati hum mina almaqbooheena

And We made a curse to follow them in this world, and on the Day of Resurrection, they will be among Al-Maqbuhûn (those who are prevented from receiving Allâh's Mercy or any good; despised or destroyed).

And We caused to overtake them in this world a curse, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be of the despised.

இவ்வுலகில் நம்முடைய சாபம் அவர்களைப் பின்பற்றும்படி செய்தோம். மறுமை நாளிலோ அவர்களுடைய நிலைமை மிக்க கேடானதாகவே இருக்கும்.

இன்னும், இவ்வுலகில் அவர்களைச் சாபம் தொடருமாறு நாம் செய்தோம்; கியாம நாளில் அவர்கள் இகழப்பட்டவர்களாகவே இருப்பார்கள்.

அன்றியும், இவ்வுலகில் (நம்முடைய) சாபத்தை அவர்களுக்கு பின்தொடரச் செய்தோம், மேலும், மறுமை நாளில் அவர்கள் இழிநிலையுடையவர்களில் உள்ளோராவர்.

We caused a curse to pursue them in this world, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be among those who are despised.

Walaqad atayna moosa alkitaba min baAAdi ma ahlakna alquroona aloola basaira lilnnasi wahudan warahmatan laAAallahum yatathakkaroona

And indeed We gave Mûsâ (Moses) – after We had destroyed the generations of old – the Scripture [the Taurât (Torah)] as an enlightenment for mankind, and a guidance and a mercy, that they might remember (or receive admonition).

And We gave Moses the Scripture, after We had destroyed the former generations, as enlightenment for the people and guidance and mercy that they might be reminded.

(அவர்களுக்கு) முன்னிருந்த வகுப்பார்களையும் நாம் அழித்துவிட்ட பின்னர் (அவர்களுடைய வேதங்களும் அழிந்து விட்டதனால்) நிச்சயமாக நாம் மூஸாவுக்கு ஒரு வேதத்தைக் கொடுத்தோம். அது மனிதர்களுக்கு நல்ல படிப்பினை தரக் கூடியதாகவும், நேரான வழியாகவும், அருளாகவும் இருந்தது. அவர்கள் (அதனைக் கொண்டு) நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெறும் பொருட்டே (கொடுத்தோம்).

இன்னும், முந்தைய தலைமுறையார்களை நாம் அழித்தபின் திடனாக மூஸாவுக்கு(த் தவ்ராத்) வேதத்தைக் கொடுத்தோம் - மனிதர் (சிந்தித்து) உபதேசம் பெறும் பொருட்டு அவர்களுக்கு ஞானப்பிரகாசங்களாகவும், நேர்வழி காட்டியாகவும் அருட் கொடையாகவும் (அது இருந்தது).

மேலும், (இவ்வாறு) முந்தைய தலைமுறையினர்களை நாம் அழித்துவிட்ட பின்னர், நிச்சயமாக நாம் மூஸாவுக்கு ஒரு வேதத்தைக் கொடுத்தோம், (அது) மனிதர்களுக்கு நல்ல படிப்பினைகளை தரக்கூடியதாகவும், நேர் வழியாகவும், அருளாகவும் இருந்தது; அவர்கள் (இதனைக் கொண்டு) நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெறுவதற்காக(க்கொடுத்தோம்).

We gave Moses the Scripture after destroying earlier nations, as an insight for mankind, and a guidance and mercy, so that they may take heed.

Wama kunta bijanibi algharbiyyi ith qadayna ila moosa alamra wama kunta mina alshshahideena

And you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) were not on the western side (of the Mount), when We made clear to Mûsâ (Moses) the commandment, and you were not among the witnesses.

And you, [O Muhammad], were not on the western side [of the mount] when We revealed to Moses the command, and you were not among the witnesses [to that].

(நபியே! தூர் ஸீனாய் என்னும் மலையில்) நாம் மூஸாவுக்குக் (கற்பலகையில் எழுதப்பட்ட) கட்டளைகளை விதித்தபோது நீங்கள் அதன் மேற்குத் திசையில் இருக்கவில்லை. அதைப் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தவர்களில் நீங்கள் ஒருவருமல்ல.

மேலும், நாம் மூஸாவுக்குக் கட்டளைகளைக் கடமையாக்கிய சமயம் நீர் (தூர் மலைக்கு) மேற்குத் திசையில் இருக்கவில்லை; (அந்நிகழ்வைப்) பார்ப்பவர்களில் ஒருவராகவும் நீர் இருக்கவில்லை.

(நபியே!) நாம் மூஸாவுக்குக் கட்டளையை விதித்தபோது, நீர் (சினாய் மலையின்) மேற்குத் திசையில் இருக்கவுமில்லை, அங்கு அதைப் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தவர்களிலும் நீர் இருக்கவில்லை.

You were not [O Prophet] on the western side [of the mountain] when We gave Moses Our commandment, nor did you witness that event.

Walakinna anshana quroonan fatatawala AAalayhimu alAAumuru wama kunta thawiyan fee ahli madyana tatloo AAalayhim ayatina walakinna kunna mursileena

But We created generations [after generations, i.e. after Mûsâ (Moses) ['alayhis-salâm]], and long were the ages that passed over them. And you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) were not a dweller among the people of Madyan (Midian), reciting Our Verses to them. But it is We Who kept sending (Messengers).

But We produced [many] generations [after Moses], and prolonged was their duration. And you were not a resident among the people of Madyan, reciting to them Our verses, but We were senders [of this message].

எனினும், (அவர்களுக்குப் பின்னர்) எத்தனையோ வகுப்பினரை நாம் உற்பத்தி செய்தோம். அவர்கள் சென்றும் நீண்ட காலம் ஆகிவிட்டது. (அவ்வாறிருந்தும் மூஸாவைப் பற்றிய இவ்வளவு உண்மையான சரித்திரத்தை நீங்கள் கூறுவதெல்லாம் இறைவனால் உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டதால்தான் என்று இவர்கள் அறிந்துகொள்ள வேண்டாமா?) அன்றி, (நபியே!) மத்யன் வாசிகளிடமும் நீங்கள் தங்கியிருக்கவில்லை. (அவ்வாறிருந்தும் அவர்களைப் பற்றிய) நம்முடைய வசனங்களை நீங்கள் இவர்களுக்கு ஓதிக் காண்பிக்கின்றீர்கள். ஆகவே, நிச்சயமாக நாம் உங்களை நம் தூதர்களில் ஒருவராகவே அனுப்பி வைத்திருக்கின்றோம். (நம்முடைய வஹ்யி மூலம் கிடைத்த விஷயங்களையே நீங்கள் அவர்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கின்றீர்கள்.)

எனினும் (அவர்களுக்குப் பின்) நாம் அநேக தலைமுறையினர்களை உண்டாக்கினோம்; அவர்கள்மீது காலங்கள் பல கடந்து விட்டன; அன்றியும் நீர் மத்யன் வாசிகளிடம் வசிக்கவுமில்லை; அவர்களுக்கு நம் வசனங்களை நீர் ஓதிக் காண்பிக்கவுமில்லை; எனினும் நாம் தூதர்களை அனுப்பி வைப்போராகவே இருந்தோம்.

எனினும், (அவர்களுக்குப் பின்னர்) எத்தனையோ தலைமுறையினர்களை நாம் உற்பத்தி செய்தோம்; அவர்கள் மீது (பல) காலமும் நீண்டது; இன்னும் மத்யன்வாசிகளிடம்_அவர்களுக்கு நம்முடைய வசனங்களை நீர் ஓதிக்காண்பித்துக் கொண்டு தங்கியவராக நீர் இருக்கவில்லை; எனினும் (தூதர்களை) நாம் அனுப்புவோராக இருந்தோம்.

But We brought forth many generations [after Moses], and a long time passed on them. And you [O Prophet] did not dwell among the people of Midian, rehearsing with them Our verses, but it is We Who sent you as a messenger [and revealed to you their stories].

Wama kunta bijanibi alttoori ith nadayna walakin rahmatan min rabbika litunthira qawman ma atahum min natheerin min qablika laAAallahum yatathakkaroona

And you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) were not at the side of the Tûr (Mount) when We did call [it is said that Allâh called the followers of Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam], and they answered His Call, or that Allâh called Mûsâ (Moses)]. But (you are sent) as a mercy from your Lord, to give warning to a people to whom no warner had come before you, in order that they may remember or receive admonition. (Tafsir At-Tabarî)

And you were not at the side of the mount when We called [Moses] but [were sent] as a mercy from your Lord to warn a people to whom no warner had come before you that they might be reminded.

அன்றி, (தூர் ஸீனாய் என்னும் மலைக்கு மூஸாவை) நாம் அழைத்த பொழுது (அந்தத்) தூர் (என்னும்) மலையின் சார்பிலும் நீங்கள் இருக்கவில்லை. எனினும், உங்களுக்கு முன்னர் நம்முடைய யாதொரு தூதருமே வராத (இந்த) மக்களுக்கு நீங்கள் அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்யும் பொருட்டே உங்கள் இறைவனின் அருளால் (இவ்விஷயம் உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.) அவர்கள் (இதைக்கொண்டு) நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெறுவார்களாக!

இன்னும் நாம் (மூஸாவை) அழைத்தபோது, நீர் தூர் மலையின் பக்கத்தில் இருக்கவுமில்லை; எனினும் எந்த மக்களுக்கு, உமக்கு முன்னால் அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவர் அனுப்பப்படவில்லையோ, அவர்கள் நல்லுபதேசம் பெறும் பொருட்டு அவர்களை அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிப்பதற்காக உமக்கு உம் இறைவனிடமிருந்து அருட்கொடையாக (இவைக் கூறப்படுகிறது).

மேலும், (மூஸாவை) நாம் அழைத்த பொழுது, தூர் (மலையின் ஒரு) பகுதியிலும் நீர் இருக்கவில்லை, எனினும் உமக்கு முன்னர் அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிப்பவர் வராத (இச்) சமூகத்தார்க்கு நீர் அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிப்பதற்காக உம்முடைய இரட்சகனின் ஓர் அருளாக (உமக்கு வஹீ அறிவித்தோம். இதனால்) அவர்கள் நல்லுபதேசம் பெறலாம்.

You were not at the side of Mount Tūr when We called out [to Moses]. But [you have been sent] as a mercy from your Lord, to warn a people to whom no warner had come before you, so that they may take heed.

Walawla an tuseebahum museebatun bima qaddamat aydeehim fayaqooloo rabbana lawla arsalta ilayna rasoolan fanattabiAAa ayatika wanakoona mina almumineena

And if (We had) not (sent you to the people of Makkah) – in case a calamity should seize them for (the deeds) that their hands have sent forth, they would have said: "Our Lord! Why did You not send us a Messenger? We would then have followed Your Ayât (Verses of the Qur'ân) and would have been among the believers."

And if not that a disaster should strike them for what their hands put forth [of sins] and they would say, "Our Lord, why did You not send us a messenger so we could have followed Your verses and been among the believers?"...

(நபியே! உங்களுடைய மக்களாகிய) இவர்களின் கைகள் செய்த (தீய) செயலின் காரணமாக இவர்களை யாதொரு வேதனை வந்தடையும் சமயத்தில் "எங்கள் இறைவனே! எங்களிடம் உன்னுடைய ஒரு தூதரை அனுப்பி வைக்க வேண்டாமா? (அவ்வாறு நீ அனுப்பியிருந்தால்) உன்னுடைய வசனங்களை நாங்கள் பின்பற்றி உன்னை நம்பிக்கை கொண்டிருப்போமே" என்று கூறாதிருக்கும் பொருட்டே (உங்களை நம்முடைய தூதராக இவர்களிடம் அனுப்பி வைத்தோம்.)

அவர்களுடைய கைகள் செய்து முற்படுத்திய (தீ)வினை காரணமாக, அவர்களுக்கு ஏதேனும் சோதனை வரும்போது அவர்கள்: “எங்கள் இறைவா! நீ எங்களுக்குத் தூதர் ஒருவரை அனுப்பிவைத்திருக்க வேண்டாமா? அப்போது நாங்கள் உன் வசனங்களை பின்பற்றி நாங்களும் முஃமின்களில் உள்ளவர்களாகியிருப்போமே!” என்று கூறாதிருக்கும் பொருட்டும் (உம்மை அவர்களிடையே தூதராக அனுப்பினோம்).

அவர்களுடைய கைகள் முற்படுத்திய (தீ) வினையின் காரணமாக அவர்களை ஏதேனும் ஒரு துன்பம் வந்தடையுமென்பது இல்லையானால் (உம்மை நம்முடைய தூதராக நாம் அனுப்பி இருக்கமாட்டோம்). ஆகவே அவர்கள் “எங்கள் இரட்சகனே! எங்கள் பால் (உன்னுடைய) ஒரு தூதரை அனுப்பி வைத்திருக்க வேண்டாமா? (அவ்வாறு நீ அனுப்பியிருந்தால்) உன்னுடைய வசனங்களை நாங்கள் பின்பற்றி (உன்னை) விசுவாசித்தவர்களில் நாங்களும் ஆகியிருப்போம்” என்று அவர்கள் கூறுவார்கள்.

So they would not say – if struck by a calamity because of what their hands have sent forth, “Our Lord, if only You had sent us a messenger, so we could follow Your verses and be among the believers?”

Falamma jaahumu alhaqqu min AAindina qaloo lawla ootiya mithla ma ootiya moosa awalam yakfuroo bima ootiya moosa min qablu qaloo sihrani tathahara waqaloo inna bikullin kafiroona

But when the truth (i.e. Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] with his Message) has come to them from Us, they say: "Why is he not given the like of what was given to Mûsâ (Moses)? Did they not disbelieve in that which was given to Mûsâ (Moses) of old?" They say: "Two kinds of magic [the Taurât (Torah) and the Qur'ân], each helping the other!" And they say: "Verily, in both we are disbelievers."

But when the truth came to them from Us, they said, "Why was he not given like that which was given to Moses?" Did they not disbelieve in that which was given to Moses before? They said, "[They are but] two works of magic supporting each other, and indeed we are, in both, disbelievers."

எனினும், இத்தகைய உண்மை (விஷயங்களையுடைய சத்திய வேதம்) நம்மிடமிருந்து இவர்களிடம் வந்த சமயத்தில் (இதனை நம்பிக்கை கொள்வதற்குப் பதிலாக இவர்கள் "மூஸாவுக்கு கொடுக்கப்பட்ட அற்புதங்களைப் போல் இவருக்கும் கொடுக்கப்பட வேண்டாமா?" என்று கூறுகின்றனர். (என்னே!) இதற்கு முன்னர் மூஸாவுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட அற்புதங்களையும் இவர்(களின் மூதாதை)கள் நிராகரித்துவிட வில்லையா? "(மூஸாவும், ஹாரூனும்) ஒருவருக்கொருவர் உதவி செய்துகொள்ளும் சூனியக்காரர்கள் என்று இவர்கள் கூறியதுடன், நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் இவ்விருவரையும் நிராகரித்து விட்டோம்" என்றும் கூறினார்கள்.

எனினும் (இப்பொழுது) நம்மிடமிருந்து சத்திய(மார்க்க)ம் அவர்களிடம் வந்த போது, “மூஸாவுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது போன்று இவருக்கு ஏன் கொடுக்கப்படவில்லை” என்று கேட்கிறார்கள்; இதற்கு முன்னர், மூஸாவுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டதையும் அவர்(களின் மூதாதையர்)கள் நிராகரிக்க வில்லையா? இன்னும் அவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்: (திருக் குர்ஆனும், தவ்ராத்தும்) “ஒன்றையொன்று உறுதிப்படுத்தும் இரண்டு சூனிய(மந்திர)ங்களே!” என்று; இன்னும் அவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்: “நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் (இவை) அனைத்தையும் நிராகரிக்கிறோம்” என்று.

பின்னர் நம்மிடமிருந்து சத்தியம் அவர்களுக்கு வந்தபொழுது. “மூஸாவுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டதைப் போல் இவருக்கும் கொடுக்கப்பட வேண்டாமா?” என்று அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர், முன்னர் மூஸாவுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டதை இவர்(களின் மூதாதையர்)கள் நிராகரித்து விடவில்லையா? (குர் ஆனும், தவ்ராத்தும்) ஒன்றையொன்று உறுதிப்படுத்தக்கூடிய இரண்டு சூனியங்கள் தாம் என்று இவர்கள் கூறினார்கள், மேலும் “நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் இவை ஒவ்வொன்றையும் நிராகரிப்பவர்கள்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

But when the truth came to them from Us, they said, “If only he was given the like of what was given to Moses before.” Did they not reject what was given to Moses before? They say, “Both [revelations] are works of magic, supporting each other”, adding, “We truly reject both of them.”

Qul fatoo bikitabin min AAindi Allahi huwa ahda minhuma attabiAAhu in kuntum sadiqeena

Say (to them, O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "Then bring a Book from Allâh, which is a better guide than these two [the Taurât (Torah) and the Qur'ân], that I may follow it, if you are truthful."

Say, "Then bring a scripture from Allah which is more guiding than either of them that I may follow it, if you should be truthful."

ஆகவே, (நபியே! அவர்களை நோக்கி) "மெய்யாகவே நீங்கள் உண்மை சொல்பவர்களாக இருந்தால், அல்லாஹ் விடமிருந்து வந்த வேதங்களில் (மூஸாவுடைய வேதமும், திருக்குர்ஆனுமாகிய) இவ்விரண்டையும்விட நேரான வழியை அறிவிக்கக் கூடியதொரு வேதத்தை நீங்கள் கொண்டு வாருங்கள். நானும் அதனைப் பின்பற்றுகிறேன்" என்று நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்.

ஆகவே, “நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால், இவ்விரண்டையும் விட நேர்வழிக்காட்டக் கூடிய வேதத்தை அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து நீங்கள் கொண்டு வாருங்கள்; நானும் அதைப் பின்பற்றுகிறேன்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்.

“நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால், இவ்விரண்டையும் விட அதிக நேர் வழியை அறிவிக்கக்கூடிய (மிக்க மேலானதொரு) வேதத்தை அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து கொண்டுவாருங்கள், அதனை நான் பின்பற்றுகிறேன்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக!

Say, “Then bring a scripture from Allah which is better in guidance than these two so that I may follow it, if you are truthful.”

Fain lam yastajeeboo laka faiAAlam annama yattabiAAoona ahwaahum waman adallu mimmani ittabaAAa hawahu bighayri hudan mina Allahi inna Allaha la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena

But if they answer you not (i.e. do not bring the Book nor believe in your doctrine of Islâmic Monotheism), then know that they only follow their own lusts. And who is more astray than one who follows his own lusts, without guidance from Allâh? Verily, Allâh guides not the people who are Zâlimûn (wrong doers, disobedient to Allâh, and polytheists).

But if they do not respond to you - then know that they only follow their [own] desires. And who is more astray than one who follows his desire without guidance from Allah? Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

உங்களுக்கு அவர்கள் பதில் சொல்லாவிடில், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் தங்கள் சரீர இச்சையையே பின்பற்றுகிறார்கள் என்று உறுதியாக நீங்கள் அறிந்துகொள்ளுங்கள். அல்லாஹ்வினுடைய நேரான வழியை விட்டுத் தன்னுடைய சரீர இச்சையைப் பின்பற்றுபவனை விட வழிகெட்டவன் எவனுமுண்டோ! நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (இத்தகைய) அநியாயக்கார மக்களை நேரான வழியில் செலுத்துவதில்லை.

உமக்கு அவர்கள் பதில் கூறாவிடில், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் தம் மன இச்சைகளையே பின்பற்றுகிறார்கள் என்று நீர் அறிந்து கொள்ளும்; இன்னும் அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து நேர்வழி காட்டியின்றித் தன் மன இச்சையைப் பின்பற்றுபவனைவிட, மிக வழி கெட்டவன் எவன் இருக்கின்றான்; நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் அக்கிரமக்கார சமூகத்தாருக்கு நேர்வழி காட்ட மாட்டான்.  

(பின்னர்) உமக்கவர்கள் பதில் கூறவில்லையானால், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் பின்பற்றுவதெல்லாம் தங்களின் மனோ இச்சைகளைத்தான் என்று உறுதியாக நீர் அறிந்துகொள்வீராக! அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்துள்ள நேர் வழியை அன்றி தன்னுடைய மனோ இச்சையைப் பின்பற்றியவனை விடவும் மிக வழிகெட்டவன் யார்? நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (இத்தகைய) அநியாயக்கார சமூகத்தாரை நேர் வழியில் செலுத்தமாட்டான்.

But if they do not respond to you, then know that they only follow their desires. Who is more astray than one who follows his desire without any guidance from Allah? Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

Walaqad wassalna lahumu alqawla laAAallahum yatathakkaroona

And indeed now We have conveyed the Word (this Qur'ân in which is the news of everything) to them, in order that they may remember (or receive admonition).

And We have [repeatedly] conveyed to them the Qur'an that they might be reminded.

அவர்கள் நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெறும் பொருட்டு நம்முடைய வசனத்தை மென்மேலும் அவர்களுக்கு (இறக்கி)ச் சேர்ப்பித்தே வந்தோம்.

இன்னும், அவர்கள் நல்லுபதேசம் பெறுவதற்காக நாம் அவர்களுக்கு (அவ்வப்போது வேத) வாக்கை அனுப்பிக் கொண்டே இருந்தோம்.

மேலும் அவர்கள் நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெறுவதற்காக நம்முடைய (வேத)வாக்கை அவர்களுக்குத் திட்டமாக சேர்த்துவைத்தோம்.

Now We have conveyed Our Word to them, so that they may take heed.

Allatheena ataynahumu alkitaba min qablihi hum bihi yuminoona

Those to whom (Jews and Christians) We gave the Scripture [i.e. the Taurât (Torah) and the Injîl (Gospel)] before it, they (i.e., their scholars) believe in it (the Qur'ân).

Those to whom We gave the Scripture before it - they are believers in it.

ஆகவே, இதற்கு முன்னர் எவர்களுக்கு நாம் நம்முடைய வேதத்தைக் கொடுத்து, அவர்களும் அதனை உண்மையாகவே நம்பிக்கை கொள்கின்றார்களோ,

இதற்கு முன்னர், எவர்களுக்கு நாம் வேதத்தைக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறோமோ அவர்களும் இதன் மீது நம்பிக்கை கொள்கிறார்கள்.

(ஆகவே, குர் ஆனாகிய) இதற்கு முன்னர் எவர்களுக்கு நாம் (நம்முடைய) வேதத்தைக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறோமோ அத்தகையோர்_அவர்களே இதனை விசுவாசிக்கின்றார்கள்.

As for those whom We gave the Scripture before this [Qur’an], they do believe in it.

Waitha yutla AAalayhim qaloo amanna bihi innahu alhaqqu min rabbina inna kunna min qablihi muslimeena

And when it is recited to them, they say: "We believe in it. Verily, it is the truth from our Lord. Indeed even before it we have been from those who submit themselves to Allâh in Islâm as Muslims (like 'Abdullâh bin Salâm and Salmân Al-Fârisî).

And when it is recited to them, they say, "We have believed in it; indeed, it is the truth from our Lord. Indeed we were, [even] before it, Muslims [submitting to Allah]."

அவர்கள் மீது (இவ்வேதம்) ஓதிக் காண்பிக்கப்பட்டால் அதற்கவர்கள் "இதனையும் நாங்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டோம். நிச்சயமாக இதுவும் எங்கள் இறைவனிடமிருந்து வந்த உண்மை(யான வேதம்)தான். இதற்கு முன்னதாகவே நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் இதனை (எங்கள் வேதத்தின் மூலம் அறிந்து) ஏற்றுக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றோம்" என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

மேலும் (இது) அவர்களுக்கு ஓதிக் காண்பிக்கப்பட்டால், அவர்கள்: “நாங்கள் இதை நம்புகிறோம்; நிச்சயமாக இது நம்முடைய இறைவனிடமிருந்து வந்துள்ள சத்திய (வசன)மாகும், இதற்கு முன்னரே நாங்கள் (இறைவனுக்கு முற்றிலும் வழிபட்ட) முஸ்லிம்களாகவே இருந்தோம்” என்று கூறுகிறார்கள்.

இன்னும் அவர்கள் மீது (இவ்வேதம்) ஓதிக்காண்பிக்கப்பட்டால், அ(தற்க)வர்கள், “இதனை கொண்டு விசுவாசங்கொண்டோம்; நிச்சயமாக இதுவும் எங்கள் இரட்சகனிடமிருந்து வந்த உண்மை(யான வேதம்) தான்; இதற்கு முன்னதாகவே, நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் (முற்றிலும் கீழ்படிந்த) முஸ்லீம்களாகவே இருந்தோம்” என்று கூறுகிறார்கள்.

When this [Qur’an] is recited to them, they say, “We believe in it, for it is the truth from our Lord. We had already submitted [as Muslims even] before this.”

Olaika yutawna ajrahum marratayni bima sabaroo wayadraoona bialhasanati alssayyiata wamimma razaqnahum yunfiqoona

These will be given their reward twice over, because they are patient, and repel evil with good, and spend (in charity) out of what We have provided for them.

Those will be given their reward twice for what they patiently endured and [because] they avert evil through good, and from what We have provided them they spend.

இத்தகையவர் உறுதியாக இருந்ததன் காரணத்தால், இரண்டு தடவைகள் அவர்களுக்கு (நற்) கூலி கொடுக்கப்படும். இத்தகைய வர்கள், தீய காரியங்களை நன்மையைக் கொண்டே தடுத்துக் கொள்வார்கள். நாம் அவர்களுக்கு அளித்தவைகளில் இருந்து அவர்கள் தானமும் செய்வார்கள்.

இவர்கள் பொறுமையை மேற்கொண்டமைக்காக இருமுறை நற்கூலி அளிக்கப்படுவார்கள்; மேலும், இவர்கள் நன்மையைக் கொண்டு தீமையைத் தடுத்துக் கொள்வார்கள்; நாம் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தவற்றிலிருந்து (தானம் தருமங்களில்) செலவும் செய்வார்கள்.

அத்தகையோர்_அவர்கள் பொறுமையாக இருந்ததன் காரணத்தால், இரண்டு தடவை அவர்களது (நற்) கூலியை கொடுக்கப்படுவார்கள், இவர்கள் நன்மையைக் கொண்டே தீமையைத் தடுத்துக் கொள்வார்கள், நாம் அவர்களுக்கு அளித்தவற்றிலிருந்து அவர்கள் (தர்மமாகச்) செலவும் செய்வார்கள்.

They will be given their reward twice for their patience, repelling evil with good, and for spending out of what We have provided for them.

Waitha samiAAoo allaghwa aAAradoo AAanhu waqaloo lana aAAmaluna walakum aAAmalukum salamun AAalaykum la nabtaghee aljahileena

And when they hear Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk), they withdraw from it and say: "To us our deeds, and to you your deeds. Peace be to you. We seek not (the way of) the ignorant."

And when they hear ill speech, they turn away from it and say, "For us are our deeds, and for you are your deeds. Peace will be upon you; we seek not the ignorant."

அன்றி, அவர்கள் வீணான வார்த்தைகளைக் கேள்வி யுற்றால் (அதில் சம்பந்தப்படாது) அதனைப் புறக்கணித்து விட்டு "எங்களுடைய காரியங்கள் எங்களுக்கும் உங்களுடைய காரியங்கள் உங்களுக்கும் (பெரியது) உங்களுக்கு ஸலாம்! அறியாதவர்களிடம் நாங்கள் (தர்க்கிக்க) விரும்புவதில்லை" என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

அன்றியும், இவர்கள் வீணானதைச் செவியுற்றால், அதைப் புறக்கணித்து: “எங்களுக்கு எங்கள் அமல்கள்; உங்களுக்கு உங்கள் அமல்கள்; ஸலாமுன் அலைக்கும் (உங்களுக்குச் சாந்தி உண்டாகுக!) அறியாமைக்காரர்களை நாங்கள் விரும்புவதில்லை” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

இன்னும் அவர்கள் (செய்திகளில்) வீணானதைச் செவியுற்றால், அதனைப் புறக்கணித்துவிட்டு, “ எங்களுடைய செயல்கள் எங்களுக்கும், உங்களுடைய செயல்கள் உங்களுக்கும் (உரியன) உங்களுக்கு ஸலாம்! அறிவீனர்களை நாங்கள் விரும்பமாட்டோம்” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

When they hear vain talk, they turn away from it and say, “We are accountable for our deeds and you for yours. Peace [is our response] to you! We do not want [to be with] the ignorant.”

Innaka la tahdee man ahbabta walakinna Allaha yahdee man yashao wahuwa aAAlamu bialmuhtadeena

Verily, you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) guide not whom you like, but Allâh guides whom He wills. And He knows best those who are the guided.

Indeed, [O Muhammad], you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills. And He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided.

(நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் இவர்களில் விரும்பியவர்களை நேரான வழியில் செலுத்த உங்களால் முடியாது. எனினும், தான் விரும்பியவர்களை அல்லாஹ் நேரான வழியில் செலுத்துகின்றான். நேரான வழியில் செல்லத் தகுதியுடையவர் யார் என்பதை அவனே நன்கறிவான்.

(நபியே!) நீர் நேசிப்பவர்களை(யெல்லாம்) நிச்சயமாக நேர்வழியில் செலுத்திவிட உம்மால் முடியாது; ஆனால், அல்லாஹ் தான் நாடியவர்களை நேர்வழியில் செலுத்துகிறான் - மேலும் நேர்வழி பெற்றவர்களை அவன் நன்கறிகிறான்.

(நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக நீர் விரும்பியோரை நேர் வழியில் செலுத்தி விடமாட்டீர், எனினும் அல்லாஹ், தான் நாடியோரையே நேர் வழியில் செலுத்துகின்றான், மேலும் நேர் வழி பெறுகிறவர்களை அவனே மிக அறிந்தவன்.

You cannot guide whoever you like, but Allah guides whom He wills, and He knows best who will be guided.

Waqaloo in nattabiAAi alhuda maAAaka nutakhattaf min ardina awalam numakkin lahum haraman aminan yujba ilayhi thamaratu kulli shayin rizqan min ladunna walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona

And they say: "If we follow the guidance with you, we would be snatched away from our land." Have We not established for them a secure sanctuary (Makkah), to which are brought fruits of all kinds, a provision from Ourselves, but most of them know not.

And they say, "If we were to follow the guidance with you, we would be swept from our land." Have we not established for them a safe sanctuary to which are brought the fruits of all things as provision from Us? But most of them do not know.

(நபியே! மக்காவாசிகளான) இவர்கள் (உங்களை நோக்கி) "நாங்கள் உங்களுடன் குர்ஆனைப் பின்பற்றினால், எங்கள் ஊரில் இருந்த நாங்கள் (இறாய்ஞ்சித்) தூக்கிச் செல்லப்பட்டு விடுவோம்" என்று கூறுகின்றனர். (இவர்கள் சிந்திக்க வேண்டாமா?) அபயமளிக்கும் மிக்க கண்ணியமான இடத்தில் (இவர்கள் வசித்திருக்க) இவர்களுக்கு நாம் வசதி அளிக்கவில்லையா? ஒவ்வொரு கனி வர்க்கமும் உணவாக நம்மிடமிருந்து அங்கு வந்து குவிந்துகொண்டே இருக்கின்றது. எனினும், இவர்களில் பெரும்பாலானவர்கள் (இதன் நன்றியை) அறியமாட்டார்கள்.

இன்னும் அவர்கள்: “நாங்கள் உம்முடன் சேர்ந்து இந்நேர் வழியை (குர்ஆனை) பின்பற்றுவோமானால் எங்கள் நாட்டைவிட்டு நாங்கள் தூக்கி எறியப்படுவோம்” என்று கூறுகிறார்கள்; நாம் அவர்களைச் சங்கையான இடத்தில் பாதுகாப்பாக வசிக்கும்படி வைக்கவில்லையா? அவ்விடத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு வகைக் கனிவர்க்கமும் நம்மிடமிருந்துள்ள உணவாகக் கொண்டுவரப்படுகிறது; எனினும் அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் இதை அறிய மாட்டார்கள்.

(நபியே! மக்காவாசிகளான) இவர்கள் “நாங்கள் உம்முடன் (குர் ஆனாகிய) இந்த நேர்வழியைப் பின்பற்றினால் எங்கள் ஊரிலிருந்து நாங்கள் இறாய்ஞ்சி(த் தூக்கி)ச் செல்லப்பட்டு விடுவோம்” என்று கூறுகின்றனர் (இவர்கள் சிந்திக்க வேண்டாமா?) அபயமளிக்கும் கண்ணியமான இடத்தை அவர்களுக்கு (வசிக்க) நாம் ஆக்கித்தரவில்லையா? நம்மிடமிருந்து உணவாக (பல பகுதிகளிலிருந்தும்) ஒவ்வொருவகைக் கனிவர்க்கமும் அதன்பால் கொண்டு வரப்படுகிறது; எனினும் அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் (இதனை) அறியாமாட்டர்கள்.

They say, “If we follow the guidance with you [O Prophet], we will be snatched away from our land.” Have We not established for them a safe sanctuary [in Makkah] to which fruits of all kinds are brought as provision from Us? But most of them do not know.

Wakam ahlakna min qaryatin batirat maAAeeshataha fatilka masakinuhum lam tuskan min baAAdihim illa qaleelan wakunna nahnu alwaritheena

And how many a town (population) have We destroyed, which was thankless for its means of livelihood (disobeyed Allâh, and His Messengers, by doing evil deeds and crimes)! And those are their dwellings, which have not been inhabited after them except a little. And verily, We have been the inheritor.

And how many a city have We destroyed that was insolent in its [way of] living, and those are their dwellings which have not been inhabited after them except briefly. And it is We who were the inheritors.

(இவர்களைப் போன்று) தன் வாழ்க்கைத் தரத்தால் கொழுத்துத் திமிர் பிடித்த எத்தனையோ ஊரார்களை நாம் அழித்திருக்கின்றோம். இதோ! (பாருங்கள்.) இவை யாவும் அவர்கள் வசித்திருந்த இடங்கள்தாம். (எனினும், அங்கே மூலை முடுக்குகளில் உள்ள) சொற்ப சிலரைத் தவிர நாம்தான் அதற்கு வாரிசுகளாக இருக்கிறோம்.

தங்களுடைய வாழ்க்கை வசதிகளின் செருக்கினால் (அழிச்சாட்டியம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்த) எத்தனையோ ஊ(ரா)ர்களை நாம் அழித்திருக்கிறோம்; இவை யாவும் அவர்கள் வாழ்ந்த இடங்களேயாகும்; அவர்களுக்குப் பின் சொற்பமான நேரம் தவிர அங்கு எவரும் வசிக்க வில்லை; மேலும் நாமே (அவற்றிற்கு) வாரிசுகளாகினோம்.

மேலும், தம் வாழ்க்கை வசதிகளின் மேம்பாட்டால் (அட்டூழியம் செய்து) வரம்பு மீறி விட்ட எத்தனையோ ஊ(ரா)ர்களை நாம் அழித்திருக்கிறோம். அவை அவர்களின் குடியிருப்புகளாகும், கொஞ்ச (நேர)மே தவிர அவர்களுக்குப்பின் யாராலும் குடியிருக்கப்படவில்லை, நாமே (அவைகளுக்கு) வாரிசுகளாக ஆகிவிட்டோம்.

How many a town We have destroyed that were arrogant due to their affluence! Those are their dwellings which were never inhabited after them except briefly. It is We Who were the Inheritors.

Wama kana rabbuka muhlika alqura hatta yabAAatha fee ommiha rasoolan yatloo AAalayhim ayatina wama kunna muhlikee alqura illa waahluha thalimoona

And never will your Lord destroy the towns (populations) until He sends to their mother town a Messenger reciting to them Our Verses. And never would We destroy the towns unless the people thereof are Zâlimûn (polytheists, wrong doers, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh, oppressors and tyrants).

And never would your Lord have destroyed the cities until He had sent to their mother a messenger reciting to them Our verses. And We would not destroy the cities except while their people were wrongdoers.

(நபியே!) உங்களது இறைவன் (தன்னுடைய) தூதரை (மக்களின்) தலை நகரங்களுக்கு அனுப்பி, அவர்களுக்கு நம்முடைய வசனங்களை அவர் ஓதிக் காண்பிக்காத வரையில் எவ்வூராரையும் அழிப்பதில்லை. அன்றி, எந்த ஊராரையும் அவர்கள் அநியாயம் செய்து கொண்டிருக்கும் நிலைமையிலேயே தவிர நாம் அழிக்கவில்லை.

(நபியே!) நம் வசனங்களை அவர்களுக்கு ஓதிக் காண்பிக்கும் தூதர் ஒருவரை அவர்களுடைய தலைநகருக்கு அனுப்பி வைக்காத வரையில் எந்த ஊர்களையும் உம்முடைய இறைவன் அழிப்பவனாக இல்லை; மேலும் ,எந்த ஊரையும் அதன் மக்கள் அக்கிரமக் காரர்களாக இல்லாத வரையில் நாம் அழிப்போராகவும் இல்லை.

மேலும், (நபியே!) உமதிரட்சகன்_ஊர்களை, அவற்றின் தலைநகருக்கு நம்முடைய வசனங்களை அவர்களுக்கு ஒதிக்காண்பிக்கும் ஒரு தூதரை அனுப்புகிறவரை_அழிப்பவனாக இல்லை. மேலும் ஊர்களை, அவ்வூர்வாசிகள் அநியாயக்காரர்களாக இருந்தே தவிர நாம் அழிக்கக் கூடியவர்களாக இல்லை.

Your Lord would never destroy towns without first sending to their main city a messenger, reciting to them Our verses. Nor would We destroy towns unless their people were wrongdoers.

Wama ooteetum min shayin famataAAu alhayati alddunya wazeenatuha wama AAinda Allahi khayrun waabqa afala taAAqiloona

And whatever you have been given is an enjoyment of the life of (this) world and its adornment, and that (Hereafter) which is with Allâh is better and will remain forever. Have you then no sense?

And whatever thing you [people] have been given - it is [only for] the enjoyment of worldly life and its adornment. And what is with Allah is better and more lasting; so will you not use reason?

(நபியே! நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்:) உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப் பட்டிருப்பவைகள் எல்லாம் இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையிலுள்ள அற்ப சுகமும், அதனுடைய அலங்காரமும்தான். (எனினும்,) அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில் இருப்பவைகளோ மிக்க மேலானவையும் நிலையானவையும் ஆகும். இதனை நீங்கள் அறிந்துகொள்ள வேண்டாமா?

மேலும், உங்களுக்கு கொடுக்கப் பட்டிருப்பவையெல்லாம் (அற்பமாகிய) இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையின் சுகமும், அதனுடைய அலங்காரமும் தான்; ஆனால் அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில் இருப்பவை மிகவும் மேலானவையாகவும் நிலையானவையாகவும் இருக்கின்றன; (இதை) நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொள்ள மாட்டீர்களா?”  

(நபியே! நீர் கூறுவீராக!) இன்னும் எப்பொருளிலிருந்து நீங்கள் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளீர்களோ அவை இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையிலுள்ள (அற்ப) சுகமும் அதனுடைய அலங்காரமும்தான். ஆனால் அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில் இருப்பதோ, மிகச் சிறந்ததும், நிலையானதுமாகும், (இதை) நீங்கள் விளங்கிக்கொள்ளமாட்டீர்களா?

Whatever you have been given is only an enjoyment and adornment of the life of this world, but what is with Allah is better and more lasting. Will you not then understand?

Afaman waAAadnahu waAAdan hasanan fahuwa laqeehi kaman mattaAAnahu mataAAa alhayati alddunya thumma huwa yawma alqiyamati mina almuhdareena

Is he whom We have promised an excellent promise (Paradise) – which he will find true – like him whom We have made to enjoy the luxuries of the life of (this) world, then on the Day of Resurrection, he will be among those brought up (to be punished in the Hell-fire)?

Then is he whom We have promised a good promise which he will obtain like he for whom We provided enjoyment of worldly life [but] then he is, on the Day of Resurrection, among those presented [for punishment in Hell]?

எவனுக்கு நாம் நன்மை தருவதாக வாக்களித்து அதனை அவன் அடையக்கூடியவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றானோ அவன், எவனுக்கு நாம் இவ்வுலகத்தில் அற்ப சுகத்தை அனுபவிக்கும்படி விட்டுவைத்துப் பின்னர் மறுமையில் (அதற்குக் கணக்குக் கொடுக்கும்படி) நம்மிடம் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு வரப்படுவானோ அவனைப் போலாவானா? (இவ்விருவரும் சமமாக மாட்டார்கள்.)

எவனுக்கு நாம் அழகான வாக்காக வாக்குறுதியளித்து; அதை அவனும் அடையப்போகிறானோ அ(த்தகைய)வன், எவனுக்கு நாம் இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையின் (அற்ப) சுகங்களை மட்டும் கொடுத்துப் பின்னர் கியாம நாளில் (தண்டனை பெறுவதற்காக நம்முன்) கொண்டு வரப்படுவானோ அவனைப் போலாவானா?

(என்னே!) எவனுக்கு நாம் அழகான வாக்காக வாக்களித்து, அதை அவனும் அடைய இருக்கின்றானோ அவன், எவனுக்கு நாம் இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையின் (அற்ப) சுகங்களை (மட்டும்) அளித்து, பின்னர் அவன் மறுமை நாளில் (குற்றம் சாட்டப்பட்டு தண்டனைக்காக) முன்னிலைப்படுத்தப்படுபவர்களில் இருப்பானோ அவனைப்போல் ஆவானா?

Is one whom We promised a good promise – which he is going to obtain – like one whom We gave the pleasure of the life of this world, then on the Day of Resurrection he will be among those summoned [to Hellfire]?

Wayawma yunadeehim fayaqoolu ayna shurakaiya allatheena kuntum tazAAumoona

And (remember) the Day when He will call to them and say: "Where are My (so-called) partners whom you used to assert?"

And [warn of] the Day He will call them and say, "Where are My 'partners' which you used to claim?"

(இறைவன்) அவர்களை (விசாரணைக்காக) அழைக்கும் நாளில் (அவர்களை நோக்கி "பொய்யான தெய்வங்களை) எனக்கு இணையானவை என்று நீங்கள் எண்ணிக் கொண்டிருந்தீர்களே! அவை எங்கே?" என்று கேட்பான்.

இன்னும், (அல்லாஹ்) அவர்களை அழைக்கும் நாளில்: “எனக்கு இணையானவர்கள் என்று நீங்கள் எண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தீர்களே அவர்கள் எங்கே” என்று கேட்பான்.

இன்னும், (அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) அவன் அவர்களை அழைக்கும் நாளில், (அவர்களிடம்,) “நீங்கள் எண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தீர்களே அத்தகைய என்னுடைய இணையாளர்கள் எங்கே?” என்று கேட்பான்.

And [beware of] the Day when He will call out to them and say, “Where are those whom you claimed to be My partners?”

Qala allatheena haqqa AAalayhimu alqawlu rabbana haolai allatheena aghwayna aghwaynahum kama ghawayna tabarrana ilayka ma kanoo iyyana yaAAbudoona

Those about whom the Word will have come true (to be punished) will say: "Our Lord! These are they whom we led astray. We led them astray, as we were astray ourselves. We declare our innocence (from them) before You. It was not us they worshipped."

Those upon whom the word will have come into effect will say, "Our Lord, these are the ones we led to error. We led them to error just as we were in error. We declare our disassociation [from them] to You. They did not used to worship us."

(இணைவைக்கும்படி செய்து வழிகெடுத்தவர்களில்) எவர்கள் மீது நம்முடைய தண்டனை விதிக்கப்பட்டு விட்டதோ அவர்கள் (இறைவனை நோக்கி) "எங்கள் இறைவனே! நாங்கள் வழி கெடுத்தவர்கள் இவர்கள்தாம். (எனினும், எவருடைய நிர்ப்பந்தமுமின்றி) எவ்வாறு நாங்கள் வழி கெட்டோமோ அவ்வாறே இவர்களையும் (எவ்வித நிர்ப்பந்தமுமின்றியே) வழி கெடுத்தோம். ஆதலால், உன்னிடம் (அவர்களுடைய பொறுப்பிலிருந்து) நாங்கள் விலகிக் கொள்கின்றோம். அவர்கள் எங்களை வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கவும் இல்லை" என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

எவர் மீது (அல்லாஹ்வின் தண்டனை பற்றிய) வாக்கு உறுதியாகி விட்டதோ அவர்கள், “எங்கள் இறைவா! நாங்கள் எவர்களை வழிகெடுத்தோமோ அவர்கள் இவர்கள் தாம். நாங்கள் வழிகெட்டது போன்றே, இவர்களையும் நாங்கள் வழிகெடுத்தோம் - உன்னிடம் நாங்கள் (அவர்களை விட்டும்) விலகிக் கொண்டிருக்கவில்லை” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

எவர்கள் மீது (தண்டனை பற்றிய) வாக்கு உறுதியாகி விட்டதோ அவர்கள், “எங்கள் இரட்சகனே! நாங்கள் எவர்களை வழிகெடுத்தோமோ அவர்கள் இவர்கள் தாம், நாங்கள் வழிகெட்டது போன்றே இவர்களையும் நாங்கள் வழிகெடுத்தோம், (எங்களை அவர்கள் வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்ததிலிருந்து அவர்களை விட்டும்) நாங்கள் உன்பால் நீங்கிக் கொள்கிறோம்_ அவர்கள் எங்களை வணங்கிக்கொண்டிருக்கவில்லை” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

Those against whom the word will be fulfilled will say, “Our Lord, these are the ones whom we led astray; we led them astray as we ourselves went astray. We disassociate ourselves [from them] before You; it was not us that they used to worship.”

Waqeela odAAoo shurakaakum fadaAAawhum falam yastajeeboo lahum waraawoo alAAathaba law annahum kanoo yahtadoona

And it will be said (to them): "Call upon your (so-called) partners (of Allâh)," and they will call upon them, but they will give no answer to them, and they will see the torment. (They will then wish) if only they had been guided!

And it will be said, "Invoke your 'partners' " and they will invoke them; but they will not respond to them, and they will see the punishment. If only they had followed guidance!

பின்னர், தங்கள் பொய்யான தெய்வங்களை (உதவிக்கு) அழைக்கும்படி அவர்களுக்குக் கூறப்பட்டு, அவ்வாறே அவர்கள் அவைகளையும் அழைப்பார்கள். எனினும், அவை இவர்களுக்கு (வாய் திறந்து) பதிலும் கொடுக்கா. அதற்குள்ளாக இவர்கள் தங்கள் வேதனையைக் கண்டு கொள்வார்கள். இவர்கள் நேரான வழியில் சென்றிருந்தால் (இக்கதிக்கு ஆளாகியிருக்க மாட்டார்கள்.)

“உங்கள் இணை (தெய்வங்)களை அழையுங்கள்” என்று (அவர்களுக்குச்) சொல்லப்படும். அவர்களை இவர்கள் அழைப்பார்கள்; ஆனால் அவர்கள் இவர்களுக்கு பதிலளிக்கமாட்டார்கள்; மேலும், அவர்கள் வேதனையைக் காண்பார்கள். அவர்கள் நேர்வழியில் சென்றிருந்தால் (இந்நிலைக்கு ஆளாகியிருக்க மாட்டார்கள்).

“பின்னர், உங்கள் இணையாளர்(களான தெய்வங்)களை (உதவிக்கு) அழையுங்கள்” என்று (அவர்களுக்குக்) கூறப்படும், (அவ்வாறே) அவர்களை இவர்கள் அழைப்பார்கள், ஆனால், அவர்கள் இவர்களுக்கு பதிலளிக்கமாட்டார்கள். மேலும் இவர்கள் (தங்கள்) வேதனையைக் கண்டுகொள்வார்கள். நிச்சயமாக இவர்கள் (உலகில்) நேரான வழியில் சென்றவர்களாக இருந்திருந்தால் (அவர்களுக்கு நன்மையாக இருந்திருக்கும்).

Then they will be told, “Call upon your [so-called] partners [for help].” They will call upon them, but will receive no response. They will see the punishment, wishing that they had followed guidance.

Wayawma yunadeehim fayaqoolu matha ajabtumu almursaleena

And (remember) the Day (Allâh) will call to them, and say: "What answer gave you to the Messengers?"

And [mention] the Day He will call them and say, "What did you answer the messengers?"

அவர்கள் (விசாரணைக்காக) அழைக்கப்படும் நாளில், (அவர்களை நோக்கி, நம்முடைய நேரான வழியில் அழைக்க உங்களிடம் வந்த) நம்முடைய தூதர்களுக்கு நீங்கள் என்ன பதில் கூறினீர்கள்?" என்று கேட்கப்படும்.

மேலும், (அல்லாஹ் விசாரணைக்காக) அவர்களைக் கூப்பிடும் நாளில், (உங்களை நேர்வழிக்கு அழைத்த நம்) தூதர்களுக்கு என்ன பதில் கொடுத்தீர்கள்?” என்றும் கேட்பான்.

மேலும், (விசாரணைக்காக அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) அவன் அவர்களை அழைக்கும் நாளில் (“உங்களிடம் வந்த) நம்முடைய தூதர்களுக்கு நீங்கள் என்ன பதில் கூறினீர்கள்?” என்று கேட்பான்.

On the Day when He will call out to them, saying, “What response did you give to the messengers?”

FaAAamiyat AAalayhimu alanbao yawmaithin fahum la yatasaaloona

Then the news (of a good answer) will be obscured to them on that Day, and they will not be able to ask one another.

But the information will be unapparent to them that Day, so they will not [be able to] ask one another.

அந்நேரத்தில் எல்லா விஷயங்களையும் அவர்கள் மறந்து தடுமாறி (எதைப் பற்றியும்) ஒருவர் ஒருவரைக் கேட்க சக்தியற்றுப் போவார்கள்.

ஆனால், அந்நாளில் அவர்களுக்கு எல்லா விசயங்களும் மூடலாகிப் போகும், ஆகவே அவர்கள் ஒருவரையொருவர் கேட்டுக்கொள்ளவும் மாட்டார்கள்.

அந்நாளில் (சகல) செய்திகளும் அவர்களுக்கு மறைந்ததாகி விடும் (எதைப்பற்றியும்) ஒருவர் ஒருவரைக் கேட்டுக் கொள்ளவும் மாட்டார்கள்.

They will be dumbstruck on that Day, not even able to ask one another.

Faamma man taba waamana waAAamila salihan faAAasa an yakoona mina almufliheena

But as for him who repented (from polytheism and sins), believed (in the Oneness of Allâh, and in His Messenger Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]), and did righteous deeds (in the life of this world), then he will be among those who are successful.

But as for one who had repented, believed, and done righteousness, it is promised by Allah that he will be among the successful.

எனினும், (இவர்களில்) எவர்கள் கைசேதப்பட்டு (பாவத்தில் இருந்து) விலகி, மன்னிப்புக் கோரி, நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு நற் செயல்களைச் செய்கின்றார்களோ அவர்கள் வெற்றி அடைந்தவர்களில் (சேர்ந்து) விடுவார்கள்.

ஆனால், எவர் தவ்பா செய்து நன்னம்பிக்கை கொண்டு, நல்ல அமல்கள் செய்கிறார்களோ அவர்கள் சித்தியடைந்தோரில் ஆகுவார்கள்.

ஆகவே, (அவர்களில்) எவர் பச்சாதாபப்பட்டு, விசுவாசமுங்கொண்டு நற்கருமங்களையும் செய்கின்றாரோ, அவர் அப்போது வெற்றியடைந்தோரில் ஆகிவிடலாம்.

But whoever repents and believes, and does righteous deeds, he will be among the successful.

Warabbuka yakhluqu ma yashao wayakhtaru ma kana lahumu alkhiyaratu subhana Allahi wataAAala AAamma yushrikoona

And your Lord creates whatsoever He wills and chooses, no choice have they (in any matter). Glorified is Allâh, and exalted above all that they associate (as partners with Him).

And your Lord creates what He wills and chooses; not for them was the choice. Exalted is Allah and high above what they associate with Him.

(நபியே!) உங்களது இறைவன், தான் விரும்பியவர்களை படைத்து(த் தன்னுடைய தூதுக்காக அவர்களில்) தான் விரும்பிய வர்களைத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கின்றான். (அவ்வாறு தூதரைத்) தேர்ந்தெடுப்பதில் இவர்களுக்கு எத்தகைய உரிமையும் இல்லை. இவர்கள் இணை வைப்பவைகளிலிருந்து அல்லாஹ் மிக்க உயர்ந்தவனும் பரிசுத்தமானவனுமாவான்.

மேலும், உம்முடைய இறைவன், தான் நாடியதைப் படைக்கிறான்; (தூதராகத் தான் நாடியோரைத்) தேர்ந்தெடுத்துக் கொள்கிறான். (எனவே இத்தகு) தேர்ந்தெடுத்தல் இவர்களு(க்கு உரிமையு)டையதல்ல; அல்லாஹ் மிகத் தூய்மையானவன்; இவர்கள் இணை வைப்பதை விட்டும் அவன் மிகவும் உயர்ந்தவன்.

மேலும், (நபியே!) உமதிரட்சகன், தான் நாடியவற்றைப் படைக்கிறான், (தன்னுடைய தூதுக்காக அவர்களில் தான் விரும்பியவர்களைத்) தேர்ந்தெடுக்கின்றான், (அவ்வாறு தூதரைத்) தேர்ந்தெடுத்தல் அவர்களுக்கு இல்லை, அல்லாஹ் மிகப்பரிசுத்தமானவன், இன்னும், இவர்கள் இணைவைப்பவைகளை விட்டும் அவன் மிக்க உயர்ந்தவனாகிவிட்டான்.

Your Lord creates and chooses what He wills; they have no choice. Glorified is Allah and Exalted is He far above what they associate with Him.

Warabbuka yaAAlamu ma tukinnu sudooruhum wama yuAAlinoona

And your Lord knows what their breasts conceal, and what they reveal.

And your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they declare.

உங்களது இறைவன் அவர்களுடைய உள்ளங்கள் மறைத்து வைத்திருப்பதையும் (அதற்கு மாறாக) அவர்கள் வெளியிடுவதையும் நன்கறிவான்.

மேலும், உம்முடைய இறைவன் அவர்களுடைய இருதயங்கள் மறைத்து வைப்பதையும் அவர்கள் வெளிப்படுத்துவதையும் நன்கறிகிறான்.

உமதிரட்சகன், அவர்களுடைய நெஞ்சங்கள் மறைத்து வைத்திருப்பதையும், (அதற்கு மாறாக) அவர்கள் வெளிப்படுத்துவதையும் நன்கறிவான்.

Your Lord knows all that their hearts conceal and all that they reveal.

Wahuwa Allahu la ilaha illa huwa lahu alhamdu fee aloola waalakhirati walahu alhukmu wailayhi turjaAAoona

And He is Allâh; Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), His are all praise and thanks (both) in the first (i.e. in this world) and in the last (i.e. in the Hereafter). And for Him is the Decision, and to Him shall you (all) be returned.

And He is Allah; there is no deity except Him. To Him is [due all] praise in the first [life] and the Hereafter. And His is the [final] decision, and to Him you will be returned.

அவன்தான் அல்லாஹ்; அவனைத்தவிர வணக்கத்திற்குரிய இறைவன் (இல்லவே) இல்லை. இம்மையிலும், மறுமையிலும் புகழ் அனைத்தும் அவனுக்கு உரியனவே! (மறுமையில் தீர்ப்பு கூறும்) அதிகாரமும் அவனுக்குரியதே! ஆதலால், (மறுமையில்) நீங்கள் (அனைவரும்) அவனிடமே கொண்டு வரப்படுவீர்கள்.

மேலும்: அவனே அல்லாஹ்! அவனை அன்றி (வேறு) நாயன் இல்லை. இம்மையிலும், மறுமையிலும் எல்லாப் புகழும் அவனுக்கே உரியது; தீர்ப்புக் கூறும் அதிகாரமும் அவனுக்கே உரியது; ஆதலின் அவனிடத்திலேயே நீங்கள் திரும்பிக் கொண்டு வரப்படுவீர்கள்.

இன்னும், அவனே அல்லாஹ், அவனைத் தவிர (வேறு) வணக்கத்திற்குரியவன் இல்லை. இம்மையிலும், மறுமையிலும் புகழ் யாவும் அவனுக்கே உரியது! (தீர்ப்புக்கூறும்) அதிகாரமும் அவனுக்கே உரியது! ஆதலால் (மறுமையில்) நீங்கள் (யாவரும்) அவன்பக்கமே திருப்பிக் கொண்டுவரப்படுவீர்கள்.

He is Allah: none has the right to be worshiped except Him. All praise belongs to Him in this life and the Hereafter. His is the Judgment, and to Him you will all be returned.

Qul araaytum in jaAAala Allahu AAalaykumu allayla sarmadan ila yawmi alqiyamati man ilahun ghayru Allahi yateekum bidiyain afala tasmaAAoona

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "Tell me! If Allâh made the night continuous for you till the Day of Resurrection, which ilâh (a god) besides Allâh could bring you light? Will you not then hear?"

Say, "Have you considered: if Allah should make for you the night continuous until the Day of Resurrection, what deity other than Allah could bring you light? Then will you not hear?"

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் கேளுங்கள்: "இரவை மறுமை நாள் வரையில் உங்கள் மீது நீண்டிருக்கும்படி அல்லாஹ் செய்துவிட்டால், உங்களுக்கு(ப் பகலின்) வெளிச்சத்தைக் கொண்டு வரக்கூடிய இறைவன் அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி வேறு ஒருவன் இருக்கின்றானா?" (இக்கேள்வியை) நீங்கள் செவியுற வேண்டாமா?

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக: “கியாம நாள் வரை அல்லாஹ் உங்கள் மீது இரவை நிரந்தரமாக இருக்கும்படிச் செய்து விட்டால், உங்களுக்கு(ப் பகலின்) வெளிச்சத்தைக் கொண்டுவரக் கூடியவன் அல்லாஹ்வை அன்றி நாயன் உண்டா என்பதை நீங்கள் (சிந்தித்துப்) பார்த்தீர்களா? (இவ்வுண்மையை) நீங்கள் செவியேற்க வேண்டாமா?

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக: மறுமைநாள் வரை அல்லாஹ் உங்கள் மீது இரவை நிரந்தரமாக ஆக்கிவிட்டால், உங்களுக்கு (ப்பகலின்) வெளிச்சத்தைக் கொண்டுவரக்கூடியவன் அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) வேறு நாயன் யார்? (இருக்கின்றான்) என்பதை நீங்கள் (சிந்தித்துப்) பார்த்தீர்களா? (இதனை) நீங்கள் செவியுறமாட்டீர்களா?

Say, “What do you think, if Allah were to make the night perpetual for you until the Day of Resurrection, which god other than Allah could bring you shining light? Do you not then listen?”

Qul araaytum in jaAAala Allahu AAalaykumu alnnahara sarmadan ila yawmi alqiyamati man ilahun ghayru Allahi yateekum bilaylin taskunoona feehi afala tubsiroona

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "Tell me! If Allâh made the day continuous for you till the Day of Resurrection, which ilâh (a god) besides Allâh could bring you night wherein you rest? Will you not then see?"

Say, "Have you considered: if Allah should make for you the day continuous until the Day of Resurrection, what deity other than Allah could bring you a night in which you may rest? Then will you not see?"

(பின்னும் நபியே!) நீங்கள் கேளுங்கள்: "பகலை இறுதி நாள் வரையில் உங்களுக்கு நீண்டிருக்கும்படி அல்லாஹ் செய்துவிட்டால், நீங்கள் இளைப்பாறக் கூடிய இரவை உங்களுக்குக் கொண்டு வரக்கூடிய இறைவன் அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி வேறொருவன் இருக்கின்றானா?" (இதனை) நீங்கள் (படிப்பினை பெறும் கண் கொண்டு) பார்க்க வேண்டாமா?

“கியாம நாள்வரை உங்கள் மீது அல்லாஹ் பகலை நிரந்தரமாக இருக்கும்படிச் செய்து விட்டால், நீங்கள் அதில் ஓய்வு பெறும் பொருட்டு உங்களுக்கு இரவைக் கொண்டு வரக்கூடியவன் அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி நாயன் உண்டா என்பதை நீங்கள் (சிந்தித்துப்) பார்த்தீர்களா? (இவ்வுண்மையை) நீங்கள் நோக்க வேண்டாமா?” என்று கூறுவீராக!

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக: “மறுமை நாள் வரை உங்கள் மீது அல்லாஹ் பகலை நிரந்தரமாக ஆக்கி விட்டால், நீங்கள் எதில் இளைப்பாறுவீர்களோ அந்த இரவை உங்களுக்குக் கொண்டுவரக்கூடியவன் அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) வேறு நாயன் யார்? (இருக்கிறான்) என்பதை நீங்கள் (சிந்தித்துப்) பார்த்தீர்களா? (இதனை) நீங்கள் (உணர்ந்து) பார்க்கமாட்டீர்களா?

Say, “What do you think, if Allah were to make the day perpetual for you until the Day of Resurrection, which god other than Allah could bring you night to rest in? Do you not then see?”

Wamin rahmatihi jaAAala lakumu allayla waalnnahara litaskunoo feehi walitabtaghoo min fadlihi walaAAallakum tashkuroona

It is out of His Mercy that He has made for you the night and the day that you may rest therein (i.e. during the night) and that you may seek of His bounty (i.e. during the day) – and in order that you may be grateful.

And out of His mercy He made for you the night and the day that you may rest therein and [by day] seek from His bounty and [that] perhaps you will be grateful.

(அவ்வாறின்றி) நீங்கள் இளைப்பாறுவதற்கு இரவையும் (பல இடங்களுக்குச் சென்று வாழ்க்கைக்குத் தேவையான) அவனுடைய அருளை நீங்கள் தேடிக்கொள்ளும் பொருட்டுப் பகலையும் உங்களுக்கு அவன் உற்பத்தி செய்திருப்பதற்கு அவன் கிருபைதான் காரணம். இதற்கு நீங்கள் அவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துவீர்களாக!

இன்னும், அவன் தன் ரஹ்மத்தினால் உங்களுக்கு இரவையும் பகலையும் உண்டாக்கினான்: (இரவு) நீங்கள் அதில் ஓய்வு பெறும் பொருட்டு, (பகல்) நீங்கள் அதில் அவன் அருளைத் தேடும் பொருட்டும், (உண்டாக்கினான். இதற்காக அவனுக்கு) நன்றி செலுத்துவீர்களாக!

இன்னும் தன் அருளால் இரவையும், பகலையும் உங்களுக்கு அவனே ஆக்கினான் (இரவை) அதில் நீங்கள் இளைப்பாறுவதற்கும், பகலை நீங்கள் (அதில் அவனுடைய அருளைத் தேடிக் கொள்வதற்கும், இன்னும் நீங்கள் (அவனுக்கு) நன்றி செலுத்துவதற்காகவும் (அவ்வாறு ஆக்கியுள்ளான்).

It is out of His mercy that He made for you the night and day, so that you may rest therein and seek of His bounty, and so that you may be grateful.

Wayawma yunadeehim fayaqoolu ayna shurakaiya allatheena kuntum tazAAumoona

And (remember) the Day when He (your Lord – Allâh) will call to them (those who worshipped others along with Allâh), and will say: "Where are My (so-called) partners, whom you used to assert?"

And [warn of] the Day He will call them and say, "Where are my 'partners' which you used to claim?"

(நபியே!) அல்லாஹ் அவர்களை (விசாரணைக்காக) அழைத்து, "எனக்கு இணையானவை என்று நீங்கள் எண்ணிக் கொண்டிருந்தீர்களே அவை எங்கே?" என்று கேட்கும் நாளை அவர்களுக்கு ஞாபகமூட்டுங்கள்.

இன்னும் (அல்லாஹ்) அவர்களை அழைக்கும் நாளில்: “எனக்கு இணையானவர்கள் என்று நீங்கள் எண்ணியிருந்தீர்களே அவர்கள் எங்கே?” என்று கேட்பான்.

(நபியே! அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) அவன் அவர்களை (விசாரணைக்காக) அழைக்கும் நாளில், “நீங்கள் எண்ணிக் கொண்டிருந்தீர்களே அத்தகைய எனது இணையாளர்கள் எங்கே?” என்று கேட்பான்.

And [beware of] the Day when He will call out to them and say, “Where are those whom you claimed to be My partners?”

WanazaAAna min kulli ommatin shaheedan faqulna hatoo burhanakum faAAalimoo anna alhaqqa lillahi wadalla AAanhum ma kanoo yaftaroona

And We shall take out from every nation a witness, and We shall say: "Bring your proof." Then they shall know that the truth is with Allâh (Alone), and the lies (false gods) which they invented will disappear from them.

And We will extract from every nation a witness and say, "Produce your proof," and they will know that the truth belongs to Allah, and lost from them is that which they used to invent.

ஒவ்வொரு வகுப்பாரிலிருந்தும் (நம்முடைய தூதர்களை) அவர்களுக்கு சாட்சிகளாக அழைத்துக் கொண்டு (அவர்களை நோக்கி "என்னை அல்லாதவர்களையும் தெய்வங்களென நீங்கள் கூறிக்கொண்டிருந்தீர்களே) அதற்குரிய உங்கள் அத்தாட்சிகளைக் கொண்டு வாருங்கள்" என்று நாம் கூறும் சமயத்தில், அவர்கள் பொய்யாகக் கூறிக்கொண்டிருந்த தெய்வங்களெல்லாம் மறைந்து, உண்மையான இறைத் தன்மை அல்லாஹ் ஒருவனுக்கே உரித்தானதென்பதை அவர்கள் திட்டமாக அறிந்து கொள்வார்கள்.

இன்னும், நாம் ஒவ்வொரு சமுதாயத்திலிருந்தும் ஒரு சாட்சியை வைத்துக் கொண்டு (முஷ்ரிக்குகளை நோக்கி) “உங்கள் ஆதாரத்தைக் கொண்டு வாருங்கள்” என்று கூறுவோம்; அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் சத்தியமென்பது அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே சொந்த மென்றும், அவர்கள் இட்டுக்கட்டியவை யெல்லாம் அவர்களை விட்டும் மறைந்துவிடும் என்றும் அறிந்து கொள்வார்கள்.

இன்னும், ஒவ்வொரு சமுதாயத்திலிருந்தும், சாட்சியைத் தனித்தனியாக நாம் வெளிப்படுத்தி, (இணை வைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தீர்களே, அதற்குரிய) “உங்களுடைய ஆதாரத்தைக் கொண்டுவாருங்கள்” என்று கூறுவோம், அப்போது நிச்சயமாக உண்மை அல்லாஹ்விற்கே உரியதென்று அவர்கள் நன்கறிந்து கொள்வார்கள், இன்னும் அவர்கள் இட்டுக்கட்டியவை (யாவும்) அவர்களை விட்டும் மறைந்துவிடும்.

We will bring forth from every nation a witness and say, “Bring your proof.” They will then know that the truth is with Allah, and all [false gods] that they used to invent will be lost from them.

Inna qaroona kana min qawmi moosa fabagha AAalayhim waataynahu mina alkunoozi ma inna mafatihahu latanooo bialAAusbati olee alquwwati ith qala lahu qawmuhu la tafrah inna Allaha la yuhibbu alfariheena

Verily, Qârûn (Korah) was of Mûsâ's (Moses') people, but he behaved arrogantly towards them. And We gave him of the treasures, that of which the keys would have been a burden to a body of strong men. Remember when his people said to him: "Do not exult (with riches, being ungrateful to Allâh). Verily, Allâh likes not those who exult (with riches, being ungrateful to Allâh).

Indeed, Qarun was from the people of Moses, but he tyrannized them. And We gave him of treasures whose keys would burden a band of strong men; thereupon his people said to him, "Do not exult. Indeed, Allah does not like the exultant.

காரூன் (என்பவன்) மூஸாவுடைய மக்களிடம் உள்ளவனாக இருந்தான். எனினும், அவர்கள் மீது அவன் அநியாயங்கள் செய்யத் தலைப்பட்டான். ஏராளமான பொக்கிஷங்களை நாம் அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்திருந்தோம். அவைகளின் சாவிகளை மாத்திரம் பலசாலிகளான எத்தனையோ பேர்கள் மிக்க கஷ்டத்தோடு சுமக்க வேண்டியிருந்தது. (இத்தகைய நிலையில் அவனை நோக்கி) அவனுடைய மக்கள் "நீ மகிழ்வடைந்துவிடாதே! (பெருமை கொண்டு) மகிழ்வடைபவர்களை நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் விரும்புவதில்லை" என்றும்,

நிச்சயமாக, காரூன் மூஸாவின் சமூகத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவனாக இருந்தான்; எனினும் அவர்கள் மீது அவன் அட்டூழியம் செய்தான்; அவனுக்கு நாம் ஏராளமான பொக்கிஷங்களைக் கொடுத்திருந்தோம் - நிச்சயமாக அவற்றின் சாவிகள் பலமுள்ள ஒரு கூட்டத்தாருக்கும் பளுவாக இருந்தன; அப்பொழுது அவனுடைய கூட்டத்தார் அவனிடம்: “நீ (இதனால் பெருமைகொண்டு) ஆணவம் கொள்ளாதே! அல்லாஹ், நிச்சயமாக (அவ்வாறு) ஆணவம் கொள்பவர்களை நேசிக்கமாட்டான்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

நிச்சயமாக காரூன் (என்பவன்) மூஸாவுடைய சமூகத்தாரில் உள்ளவனாக இருந்தான், அவர்கள் மீது அவன் அட்டூழியம் செய்தான், ஏராளமான பொக்கிஷங்களிலிருந்து_ (அதைச் சுமப்பது) கனமாகிவிடுமே அந்த அளவு_ நாம் அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்திருந்தோம்; (அப்போது) அவனுடைய கூட்டத்தார் அவனிடம், “நீ அகம்பாவம் கொள்ளாதே! அகம்பாவம் கொள்வோரை நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் விரும்பமாட்டான்” என்று கூறிய நேரத்தை (நினைவு கூர்வீராக!)

Indeed, Korah was one of the people of Moses, but he behaved arrogantly towards them. We had given him such treasures that their keys would weigh down a group of strong men. When his people said to him, “Do not exult, for Allah does not like the exultant.

Waibtaghi feema ataka Allahu alddara alakhirata wala tansa naseebaka mina alddunya waahsin kama ahsana Allahu ilayka wala tabghi alfasada fee alardi inna Allaha la yuhibbu almufsideena

"But seek, with that (wealth) which Allâh has bestowed on you, the home of the Hereafter, and forget not your portion of lawful enjoyment in this world; and do good as Allâh has been good to you, and seek not mischief in the land. Verily, Allâh likes not the Mufsidûn (those who commit great crimes and sins, oppressors, tyrants, mischief-makers, corrupters)."

But seek, through that which Allah has given you, the home of the Hereafter; and [yet], do not forget your share of the world. And do good as Allah has done good to you. And desire not corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters."

"(உன்னிடம் இருக்கும் பொருள்களை எல்லாம் அல்லாஹ்வே உனக்குக் கொடுத்தான். ஆகவே) அல்லாஹ் உனக்களித்திருப்பதில் (தானம் செய்து) மறுமை வீட்டைத் தேடிக் கொள். இம்மையில் (தானம் செய்து நீ தேடிக் கொண்டது தான்) உன்னுடைய பாகம் (என்பதை) நீ மறந்துவிடாதே! அல்லாஹ் உனக்கு(க் கொடுத்து) உதவி செய்தவாறு அதனை(க் கொண்டு பிறருக்கு) நீயும் (தானம் செய்து) உதவி செய். பூமியில் நீ விஷமம் செய்ய விரும்பாதே! ஏனென்றால், விஷமிகளை நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் விரும்புவதில்லை" என்றும் கூறினார்கள்.

“மேலும், அல்லாஹ் உனக்குக் கொடுத்த (செல்வத்)திலிருந்து மறுமை வீட்டைத்தேடிக் கொள்; எனினும், இவ்வுலகத்தில் உன் நஸீபை (உனக்கு விதித்திருப்பதையும்) மறந்து விடாதே! அல்லாஹ் உனக்கு நல்லதைச் செய்திருப்பதைப் போல், நீயும் நல்லதை செய்! இன்னும், பூமியில் குழப்பம் செய்ய விரும்பாதே; நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் குழப்பம் செய்பவர்களை நேசிப்பதில்லை” (என்றும் கூறினார்கள்).

இன்னும், “அல்லாஹ் உனக்குக் கொடுத்ததிலிருந்து (தர்மம் செய்து) மறுமை வீட்டைத்தேடிக்கொள், மேலும் இம்மையில் உன் பங்கை நீ மறந்துவிடாதே! அல்லாஹ் உனக்கு உபகாரம் செய்தவாறு நீயும் உபகாரம் செய், பூமியில் நீ குழப்பத்தையும் தேடாதே! (ஏனென்றால்), குழப்பம் செய்பவர்களை நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் விரும்பமாட்டான்” (என்று அவனின் சமூகத்தார் கூறினார்).

Rather, seek with what Allah has given you the abode of the Hereafter, without forgetting your share of this world, and do good as Allah has done good to you, and do not seek to spread corruption in the land, for Allah does not like those who spread corruption.”

Qala innama ooteetuhu AAala AAilmin AAindee awalam yaAAlam anna Allaha qad ahlaka min qablihi mina alqurooni man huwa ashaddu minhu quwwatan waaktharu jamAAan wala yusalu AAan thunoobihimu almujrimoona

He said: "This has been given to me only because of the knowledge I possess." Did he not know that Allâh had destroyed before him generations, men who were stronger than him in might and greater in the amount (of riches) they had collected? But the Mujrimûn (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners) will not be questioned of their sins (because Allâh knows them well, so they will be punished without being called to account).

He said, "I was only given it because of knowledge I have." Did he not know that Allah had destroyed before him of generations those who were greater than him in power and greater in accumulation [of wealth]? But the criminals, about their sins, will not be asked.

அதற்கவன் "(என்னிடம் இருக்கும்) பொருள்களை எல்லாம் என்னுடைய சொந்த அறிவி(ன் திறமையி)னால்தான் நான் அடைந்தேன். (இதில் அல்லாஹ்வின் அருள் ஒன்றுமில்லை)" என்று (பதில்) கூறினான். இவனுக்கு முன்னிருந்த கூட்டத்தார்களில் இவனைவிட பலசாலிகளாகவும், இவனைவிட அதிகப் பொருள் உடையவர்களாகவும் இருந்த எத்தனையோ பேர்களை அல்லாஹ் நிச்சயமாக அழித்திருக்கின்றான் என்பதை இவன் அறிய வில்லையா? குற்றவாளிகள் தங்கள் பாவங்களைப் பற்றி கூறும் புகல் (அங்குக் கவனித்துக்) கேட்கப்பட மாட்டாது. (அதற்குரிய தண்டனையை அவர்கள் அடைந்தே தீருவார்கள்.)

(அதற்கு அவன்) கூறினான்: “எனக்குள்ள அறிவின் காரணத்தால் தான் இதனை நான் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறேன்!” இவனுக்கு முன் இவனை விட மிக்க வலிமையுடையவர்களும், இவனை விட அதிகப் பொருள் சேகரித்து வைத்திருந்தவர்களுமான (எத்தனையோ) தலைமுறையினர்களை அல்லாஹ் அழித்திருக்கின்றான் என்பதை இவன் அறியவில்லையா? ஆனால் குற்றவாளிகள் அவர்கள் செய்த பாவங்கள் பற்றி (உடனுக்குடன்) கேள்வி கணக்குக் கேட்கப்பட மாட்டார்கள்.

அ(தற்க)வன், “அதனை நான் கொடுக்கப்பட்டதெல்லாம் என்னிடம் இருக்கும் சொந்த அறிவி(ன் திறமையி)னால்தான்” என்று (பதில்) கூறினான். இவனுக்கு முன்னிருந்த கூட்டத்தார்களில் இவனைவிட மிக்க பலசாலிகளாகவும், இவனைவிட அதிகப்பொருளுடையவர்களாகவும் இருந்த எத்தனையோ தலைமுறையினர்களை அல்லாஹ் நிச்சயமாக அழித்திருக்கின்றான் என்பதை இவன் அறியவில்லையா? குற்றவாளிகள் அவர்கள் செய்த பாவங்கள் பற்றி (அல்லாஹ் அவைகளைப் பற்றி மிக அறிந்துள்ளதால்) கேட்கப்படமாட்டார்கள்.

He said, “I have been given all this because of the knowledge that I have.” Did he not know that Allah destroyed some generations before him who were superior to him in power and greater in accumulating [wealth]? There will be no need for the wicked to be asked about their sins.

Fakharaja AAala qawmihi fee zeenatihi qala allatheena yureedoona alhayata alddunya ya layta lana mithla ma ootiya qaroonu innahu lathoo haththin AAatheemin

So, he went forth before his people in his pomp. Those who were desirous of the life of the world, said: "Ah, would that we had the like of what Qârûn (Korah) has been given! Verily, he is the owner of a great fortune."

So he came out before his people in his adornment. Those who desired the worldly life said, "Oh, would that we had like what was given to Qarun. Indeed, he is one of great fortune."

அவன் (ஒரு நாள் மிக்க ஆடம்பரமான) தன் அலங்காரத்துடன் தன் மக்கள் முன் சென்றான். (அதனைக் கண்ணுற்றவர்களில்) எவர்கள் இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையை (பெரிதென) விரும்பியவர்களாக இருந்தார்களோ அவர்கள் "காரூனுக்கு கொடுக்கப்பட்டது போன்று நமக்கும் கொடுக்கப்பட வேண்டாமா? ஏனென்றால், நிச்சயமாக அவன் பெரும் பாக்கியவான்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

அப்பால், அவன் (கர்வத்துடனும், உலக) அலங்காரத்துடன் தன் சமூகத்தாரிடையே சென்றான்; (அப்போது) இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையை எவர் விரும்புகிறார்களோ அவர்கள்: “ஆ! காரூனுக்கு கொடுக்கப்படடதைப் போன்று நமக்கும் இருக்கக்கூடாதா? நிச்சயமாக, அவன் மகத்தான பாக்கியமுடையவன்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

பின்னர், அவன் தன் அலங்காரத்தில் தன் சமூகத்தார்க்கு முன் புறப்பட்டு வந்தான் (அதனைக் கண்ணுற்றவர்களில்) இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையையே (பெரிதென) விரும்புகிறவர்கள், “காரூன் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது போன்று நமக்கும் இருந்திருக்கவேண்டுமே! (ஏனென்றால்) நிச்சயமாக அவன் மகத்தான பாக்கியவான்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

He came out before his people in all his glamor. Those who desired the life of this world said, “Oh, would that we had the like of what Korah has been given! He is indeed a man of great fortune.”

Waqala allatheena ootoo alAAilma waylakum thawabu Allahi khayrun liman amana waAAamila salihan wala yulaqqaha illa alssabiroona

But those who had been given (religious) knowledge said: "Woe to you! The reward of Allâh (in the Hereafter) is better for those who believe and do righteous good deeds, and this none shall attain except those who are As-Sâbirûn (the patient in following the truth)."

But those who had been given knowledge said, "Woe to you! The reward of Allah is better for he who believes and does righteousness. And none are granted it except the patient."

எனினும், அவர்களில் எவர்களுக்கு மெய்யான ஞானம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருந்ததோ அவர்கள் (மற்றவர்களை நோக்கி) "உங்களுக்கு என்ன கேடு? (இவ்வாறு ஏன் கூறுகின்றீர்கள்?) நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு நற்செயல்கள் செய்தவர்களுக்கு (மறுமையில்) அல்லாஹ் கொடுக்கும் கூலியோ (இதனைவிட) எவ்வளவோ மேலானது. அதனைப் பொறுமையாளர்களைத் தவிர (மற்ற எவரும்) அடைய மாட்டார்கள்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

கல்வி ஞானம் பெற்றவர்களோ; “உங்களுக்கென்ன கேடு! ஈமான் கொண்டு, நல்ல அமல்களை செய்பவர்களுக்கு அல்லாஹ் அளிக்கும் வெகுமதி இதைவிட மேன்மையானது; எனினும், அதைப் பொறுமையாளரைத் தவிர, (வேறு) எவரும் அடைய மாட்டார்கள்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

(அவர்களில்) அறிவு கொடுக்கப்பட்டவர்களோ, (மற்றவர்களிடம்) “உங்களுக்கு கேடுதான்! விசுவாசங்கொண்டு நற்கருமங்களும் செய்தவர்களுக்கு, (மறுமையில்) அல்லாஹ் கொடுக்கும் வெகுமதி (இதனைவிட) எவ்வளவோ மேலானதாகும், மேலும், அதனைப் பொறுமையாளர்களைத் தவிர (மற்றெவரும்) கொடுக்கப்படமாட்டார்கள்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

But those who were given knowledge said, “Woe to you! Allah’s reward is better for those who believe and do righteous deeds. But none will attain this except those who are steadfast.”

Fakhasafna bihi wabidarihi alarda fama kana lahu min fiatin yansuroonahu min dooni Allahi wama kana mina almuntasireena

So, We caused the earth to swallow him and his dwelling place. Then he had no group or party to help him against Allâh, nor was he one of those who could save themselves.

And We caused the earth to swallow him and his home. And there was for him no company to aid him other than Allah, nor was he of those who [could] defend themselves.

அவனையும், அவனுடைய மாளிகையையும் நாம் பூமியில் சொருகி விட்டோம். அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு எதிரிடையாக அவனுக்கு உதவி செய்யக்கூடிய கூட்டத்தார் ஒருவரும் இருக்கவில்லை. அல்லது அவன் தன்னைத்தானே (அல்லாஹ்வின் பிடியிலிருந்து) காப்பாற்றிக் கொள்ளவும் முடியவில்லை.

ஆகவே, நாம் காரூனையும் அவன் வீட்டையும் பூமியில் அழுந்தச் செய்தோம்; அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி அவனுக்கு உதவி செய்கிற கூட்டத்தார் எவருமில்லை; இன்னும் அவன் தன்னைத்தானே காப்பாற்றிக் கொள்ளவும் முடியவில்லை.

எனவே, அவனையும், அவனுடைய மாளிகையையும் பூமிக்குள் நாம் அழுந்தச் செய்தோம். அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி அவனுக்கு உதவி செய்யக்கூடிய எந்தக்கூட்டமும் இருக்கவில்லை, (தன்னிலிருந்தோ, மற்றவரிடமிருந்தோ) அவன் உதவி பெறுபவர்களிலும் இருக்கவில்லை.

Then We caused the earth to swallow him and his house. There was no one to help him against Allah, nor was he able to help himself.

Waasbaha allatheena tamannaw makanahu bialamsi yaqooloona waykaanna Allaha yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashao min AAibadihi wayaqdiru lawla an manna Allahu AAalayna lakhasafa bina waykaannahu la yuflihu alkafiroona

And those who had desired (for a position like) his position the day before, began to say: "Know you not that it is Allâh Who enlarges the provision or restricts it to whomsoever He pleases of His slaves. Had it not been that Allâh was Gracious to us, He could have caused the earth to swallow us up (also)! Know you not that the disbelievers will never be successful."

And those who had wished for his position the previous day began to say, "Oh, how Allah extends provision to whom He wills of His servants and restricts it! If not that Allah had conferred favor on us, He would have caused it to swallow us. Oh, how the disbelievers do not succeed!"

நேற்றைய தினம் அவனுடைய பதவியை விரும்பியவர் களெல்லாம் (அவனும், அவனுடைய மாளிகையும் பூமியில் சொருகிப்போனதைக் கண்ணுற்றதும் திடுக்கிட்டு நாணமுற்று) என்ன நேர்ந்தது! நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் தன் அடியார்களில் தான் விரும்பியவர்களுக்கு ஏராளமாகக் கொடுக்கின்றான்; (அவன் விரும்பியவர்களுக்கு) குறைத்தும் விடுகின்றான் என்றும், (மனிதனுடைய சாமர்த்தியத்தால் மட்டும் ஒன்றும் ஆவதில்லை என்றும்) தெரிகின்றதே! அல்லாஹ் நம்மீது அருள் புரிந்திருக்கா விடில் அவ்வாறே நம்மையும் பூமி விழுங்கியே இருக்கும், (என்று கூறினர். பிறகு திடுக்கிட்டு, நாணமுற்று) என்ன நேர்ந்தது! நிச்சயமாக (இறைவனின் அருட்கொடையை மறுக்கும்) நன்றி கெட்டவர்கள் வெற்றி அடையவே மாட்டார்கள் என்று (தெரிகின்றதே! என்று) கூற ஆரம்பித்தார்கள்.

முன் தினம் அவனுடைய (செல்வ) நிலையை விரும்பியவர்களெல்லாம், “ஆச்சரியம் தான்! அல்லாஹ் தன் அடியார்களில், தான் நாடியவர்களுக்கு ஆகார வசதிகளைப் பெருக்குகிறான், சுருக்கியும் விடுகிறான்; அல்லாஹ் நமக்கு கிருபை செய்யவில்லையாயின் அவன் நம்மையும் (பூமியில்) அழுந்தச் செய்திருப்பான்; ஆச்சரியம் தான்! நிச்சயமாக காஃபிர்கள் சித்தியடைய மாட்டார்கள்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

(அவனும், அவனுடைய மாளிகையும், பூமியில் அழுத்தப்பட்டதைக் கண்டு) நேற்றையதினம் அவனுடைய பதவியை விரும்பியவர்கள், அந்தோ நாசமே! நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் தன் அடியார்களில், தான் நாடிவருக்கு சம்பத்துகளை ஏராளமாகக் கொடுக்கின்றான், (தான் நாடியவருக்கு) அளவோடும் கொடுக்கின்றான், அல்லாஹ் நம்மீது பேருபகாரம் செய்திருக்காவிட்டால் நிச்சயமாக நம்மையும் (பூமிக்குள்) அழுந்தச் செய்திருப்பான் என்பதைப் பார்க்கவில்லையா? அந்தோ நாசமே! நிச்சயமாக (அல்லாஹ்வின் நன்றியை) மறுப்போர் வெற்றியடையவே மாட்டார்கள்” என்பதைக் காணவில்லையா? என்று கூறியவர்களாக காலைப்பொழுதை அடைந்தார்கள்.

Those who had wished for his position the day before started saying, “Oh, it is surely Allah Who extends provisions to whom He wills or restricts it. If Allah had not favored us, He could have caused the earth to swallow us too. Oh, indeed the disbelievers will never succeed.”

Tilka alddaru alakhiratu najAAaluha lillatheena la yureedoona AAuluwwan fee alardi wala fasadan waalAAaqibatu lilmuttaqeena

That home of the Hereafter (i.e. Paradise), We shall assign to those who rebel not against the truth with pride and oppression in the land nor do mischief (by committing crimes). And the good end is for the Muttaqûn (the pious. See V.2:2).

That home of the Hereafter We assign to those who do not desire exaltedness upon the earth or corruption. And the [best] outcome is for the righteous.

(மிக்க பாக்கியம் பெற்ற) மறுமையின் வீட்டையோ, பூமியில் பெருமையையும் விஷமத்தையும் விரும்பாதவர்களுக்கே நாம் சொந்தமாக்கி விடுவோம். ஏனென்றால், முடிவான நற்பாக்கியம் இறை அச்சம் உடையவர்களுக்குத்தான்.

அந்த மறுமையின் வீட்டை, இப்பூமியில் (தங்களைப்) பெருமைப்படுத்திக் கொள்ளவும், குழப்பத்தை உண்டாக்கவும் விரும்பாதிருப்பவர்களுக்கே நாம் சொந்தமாக்கி வைப்போம்; ஏனெனில், பயபக்தியுடையவர்களுக்கே (மேலான) முடிவு உண்டு.  

மறுமையின் அந்த வீடாகிறது_ அதை பூமியில் அகம்பாவத்தையும், குழப்பத்தையும் நாடாதவர்களுக்கே அதை நாம் (சொந்தமாக) ஆக்கிவிடுவோம், இன்னும் (நல்ல) முடிவு பயபக்தியுடையவர்களுக்குத்தான்.

That is the abode of the Hereafter We will assign to those who neither seek superiority nor corruption on earth. The best outcome is for those who fear Allah.

Man jaa bialhasanati falahu khayrun minha waman jaa bialssayyiati fala yujza allatheena AAamiloo alssayyiati illa ma kanoo yaAAmaloona

Whosoever brings good (Islâmic Monotheism along with righteous deeds), he shall have the better thereof; and whosoever brings evil (polytheism along with evil deeds), then those who do evil deeds will only be requited for what they used to do.

Whoever comes [on the Day of Judgement] with a good deed will have better than it; and whoever comes with an evil deed - then those who did evil deeds will not be recompensed except [as much as] what they used to do.

(உங்களில்) எவரேனும் யாதொரு நன்மையை(ச் செய்து) கொண்டு வந்தால், அவருக்கு அதைவிட மேலான கூலியே கிடைக்கும். உங்களில் எவரேனும் யாதொரு பாவத்தைக் கொண்டு வந்தாலோ, அவர் செய்த பாவங்களின் அளவேயன்றி (அதிகமாகத்) தண்டிக்கப்பட மாட்டார்.

எவரேனும் நன்மையைக் கொண்டு வந்தால் அவருக்கு அதைவிட மேலானது உண்டு; எவன் தீமையை செய்கிறானோ தீமை செய்வோர் அவர்கள் செய்ததற்குச் சமமான கூலியைப் பெறுவார்கள்.

யார் நன்மையைக் கொண்டுவந்தாரோ அவருக்கு அதைவிடச் சிறந்தது (கூலியாக) உண்டு, இன்னும் யார் தீமையைக் கொண்டுவந்தாரோ (அப்போது) தீமையைச் செய்தோர் அவர்கள் எதைச் செய்துகொண்டிருந்தார்களோ அதையல்லாது (வேறுஎதையும்) கூலியாகக் கொடுக்கப்படமாட்டார்கள்.

Whoever comes with a good deed will be rewarded with what is better, and whoever comes with an evil deed, the evildoers will only be recompensed for what they used to do.

Inna allathee farada AAalayka alqurana laradduka ila maAAadin qul rabbee aAAlamu man jaa bialhuda waman huwa fee dalalin mubeenin

Verily, He Who has given you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) the Qur'ân (i.e. ordered you to act on its laws and to preach it to others), will surely bring you back to Ma'âd (place of return, either to Makkah or to Paradise after your death). Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "My Lord is Aware of him who brings guidance, and of him who is in manifest error."

Indeed, [O Muhammad], He who imposed upon you the Qur'an will take you back to a place of return. Say, "My Lord is most knowing of who brings guidance and who is in clear error."

(நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக எவன் இந்தக் குர்ஆனின் கட்டளைகளை உங்கள் மீது விதித்து இருக்கின்றானோ அவன் நிச்சயமாக உங்களை (மக்காவாகிய) உங்களுடைய இல்லத்தில் திரும்பச் சேர்த்து வைப்பான். ஆகவே, (நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: நேரான வழியைக் கொண்டு வந்திருப்பவர் யார்? (அதனை மறுத்துப்) பகிரங்கமான வழிகேட்டில் இருப்பவர் யார்? என்பதை என் இறைவன் நன்கறிவான்.

(நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக எவன் இந்த குர்ஆனை உம்மீது விதியாக்கினானோ, அவன் நிச்சயமாக உம்மைத் திரும்பிக் கொண்டு வந்து (மக்காவென்னும்) அம்மீளும் தலத்தில் சேர்ப்பிப்பான்; என் இறைவன் நேர்வழியைக் கொண்டு வந்திருப்பவர் யார், வெளிப்படையான வழிகேட்டில் இருப்பவர் யார் என்பதை நன்கறிந்தவன்” என்று நீர் கூறுவீராக.

(நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக உம்மீது இந்தக்குர் ஆனை விதியாக்கி (இறக்கி)யவன் உம்மை மீளுமிடத்தின் பால் (மக்காவின் பக்கம்) திரும்பச் சேர்த்து வைப்பவனாவான். (ஆகவே, நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக: “நேரான வழியைக் கொண்டு வந்திருப்பவர் யார்? (அதனை மறுத்து) பகிரங்கமான வழிகேட்டில் இருப்பவர் யார்? என்பதை என் இரட்சகன் மிக அறிந்தவன்.

Indeed, the One Who has ordained for you the Qur’an will bring you back home [to Makkah]. Say, “My Lord knows best who has come with guidance and who is clearly misguided.”

Wama kunta tarjoo an yulqa ilayka alkitabu illa rahmatan min rabbika fala takoonanna thaheeran lilkafireena

And you were not expecting that the Book (this Qur'ân) would be sent down to you, but it is a mercy from your Lord. So never be a supporter of the disbelievers.

And you were not expecting that the Book would be conveyed to you, but [it is] a mercy from your Lord. So do not be an assistant to the disbelievers.

(நபியே!) உங்களது இறைவனின் அருளால் அன்றி இவ்வேதம் (அவன் புறத்திலிருந்து) உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும் என்று நீங்கள் எதிர்பார்த்திருக்கவில்லை. (அவனுடைய அருளாலேயே இது உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படுகின்றது.) ஆகவே, நீங்கள் நிராகரிப்பவர்களுக்கு உதவியாக இருக்கவேண்டாம்.

இன்னும், உம்முடைய இறைவனிடமுள்ள ரஹ்மத்தினாலன்றி இவ்வேதம் உமக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும் என்று நீர் எதிர்பார்க்கவில்லை. எனவே நிராகரிப்பவர்களுக்கு உதவியாளராக நிச்சயமாக நீர் இருக்காதீர்.

அன்றியும், (நபியே!) இவ்வேதம் உமக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும் என்று நீர் எதிர்பார்த்து இருக்கவில்லை, எனினும் உம்முடைய இரட்சகனிடமிருந்து அருளாகவே (நீர் அதைக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டீர்), ஆகவே, நிராகரிப்போருக்கு உதவியாளராக திண்ணமாக நீர் ஆகிவிடவேண்டாம்.

You were not expecting the Book to be revealed to you, but it was a mercy from your Lord. So never be a supporter to the disbelievers.

Wala yasuddunnaka AAan ayati Allahi baAAda ith onzilat ilayka waodAAu ila rabbika wala takoonanna mina almushrikeena

And let them not turn you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) away from (preaching) the Ayât (revelations and verses) of Allâh after they have been sent down to you: and invite (men) to (believe in) your Lord and be not of Al-Mushrikûn (those who associate partners with Allâh, e.g. polytheists, pagans, idolaters, and those who disbelieve in the Oneness of Allâh and deny the Prophethood of Messenger Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]).

And never let them avert you from the verses of Allah after they have been revealed to you. And invite [people] to your Lord. And never be of those who associate others with Allah.

இவ்வேதம் உங்களுக்கு அருளப்பட்ட பின் (இதிலுள்ள) அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வசனங்களி(ன் பக்கம் நீங்கள் மக்களை அழைப்பதி)லிருந்து அவர்கள் உங்களைத் தடுத்து விட வேண்டாம். ஆகவே, உங்கள் இறைவன் பக்கம் (நீங்கள் அவர்களை) அழைத்துக் கொண்டேயிருங்கள். நிச்சயமாக இணைவைத்து வணங்குபவர்களுடன் சேர்ந்து விட வேண்டாம்.

இன்னும், அல்லாஹ்வின் வசனங்கள் உமக்கு அருளப்பட்டதன் பின், எதுவும் உம்மை அவற்றை விட்டும் நிச்சயமாகத் திருப்பி விடாதிருக்கட்டும்; மேலும் நீர் உம்முடைய இறைவன் பால் (அவர்களை) அழைத்தே வருவீராக; நிச்சயமாக நீர் இணைவைப்போரில் ஒருவராகி விடவேண்டாம்.

இன்னும், அல்லாஹ்வின் வசனங்கள் உம்பால் இறக்கிவைக்கபட்டதன் பின்னர் நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் (அவற்றை எத்திவைப்பதிலிருந்து) உம்மைத் தடுத்துவிடவேண்டாம், இன்னும் உமதிரட்சகன் பக்கம் நீர் (அவர்களை) அழைப்பீராக! நிச்சயமாக நீர் இணைவைப்போரில் ஆகிவிடவேண்டாம்.

Do not let them turn you away from Allah’s verses after they have been sent down to you. Rather, call people to your Lord, and never be among those who associate partners with Allah.

Wala tadAAu maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara la ilaha illa huwa kullu shayin halikun illa wajhahu lahu alhukmu wailayhi turjaAAoona

And invoke not any other ilâh (god) along with Allâh, Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). Everything will perish except His Face. His is the Decision, and to Him you (all) shall be returned.

And do not invoke with Allah another deity. There is no deity except Him. Everything will be destroyed except His Face. His is the judgement, and to Him you will be returned.

(நபியே!) அல்லாஹ்வுடன் வணக்கத்திற்குரிய வேறொரு இறைவனை நீங்கள் அழைக்க வேண்டாம். அவனைத் தவிர வணக்கத்திற்குரிய வேறு இறைவன் இல்லவே இல்லை. அவனைத் தவிர எல்லா பொருள்களும் அழிந்துவிடக் கூடியனவே. எல்லா அதிகாரங்களும் அவனுக்குரியனவே. அவனிடமே நீங்கள் அனைவரும் கொண்டு வரப்படுவீர்கள்.

அல்லாஹ்வுடன் வேறு எந்த நாயனையும் அழைக்காதீர்; அவனைத்தவிர வேறு நாயன் இல்லை, அவனைத் தவிர எல்லாப் பொருட்களும் அழிந்து விடுபவையேயாகும்; அவனுக்கே எல்லா அதிகாரமும் உரியது; இன்னும் அவனிடமே நீங்கள் (யாவரும்) திரும்பக் கொண்டு வரப்படுவீர்கள்.

மேலும், (நபியே!) அல்லாஹ்வுடன் வேறொரு (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) நாயனை நீர் அழைக்கவேண்டாம், அவனைத் தவிர (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) வேறொரு நாயன் இல்லை, அவன் முகம் தவிர ஒவ்வொரு பொருளும் அழிந்துவிடக்கூடியதே. அதிகாரம் (அனைத்தும்) அவனுக்கே உரியதாகும், அவனிடமே நீங்கள் (யாவரும்) திரும்பக் கொண்டுவரப்படுவீர்கள்.

Do not supplicate with Allah another god; none has the right to be worshiped except Him. Everything will perish except Him. His is the Judgment and to Him you will all be brought back.
