27 - an-Naml (The Ants)

Taseen tilka ayatu alqurani wakitabin mubeenin

Tâ-Sîn.[These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'ân, and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings.] These are the Verses of the Qur'ân, and (it is) a Book (that makes things) clear;

Ta, Seen. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a clear Book

தா; ஸீன். இவை தெளிவான வேதமாகிய இந்தத் திருக்குர்ஆனின் (சில) வசனங்களாகும்.

தா, ஸீன். இவை குர்ஆனுடைய தெளிவான வேதத்துடைய - வசனங்களாகும்.

தா ஸீன் - இவை குர் ஆனுடைய - இன்னும் தெளிவான வேதத்தினுடைய – வசனங்களாகும்.

Tā Sīn. These are the verses of the Qur’an and a clear book;

Hudan wabushra lilmumineena

A guide (to the Right Path) and glad tidings for the believers [who believe in the Oneness of Allâh (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism)].

As guidance and good tidings for the believers

நம்பிக்கை கொண்டவர்களுக்கு (இது) ஒரு நேர்வழியாகவும், நற்செய்தியாகவும் இருக்கிறது.

(இது) முஃமின்களுக்கு நேர்வழி காட்டியாகவும், நன்மாராயமாகவும் இருக்கிறது.

விசுவாசங்கொண்டோருக்கு ஒரு நேர்வழியாகவும், நன்மாராயமாகவும் இருக்கிறது.

a guidance and glad tidings for the believers,

Allatheena yuqeemoona alssalata wayutoona alzzakata wahum bialakhirati hum yooqinoona

Those who perform As-Salât (the prayers) and give Zakât (obligatory charity) and they believe with certainty in the Hereafter (resurrection, recompense of their good and bad deeds, Paradise and Hell).

Who establish prayer and give zakah, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith].

அவர்கள் தொழுகையைக் கடைப்பிடித்தொழுகுவார்கள், ஜகாத்தும் கொடுத்து வருவார்கள். அன்றி, மறுமையையும் அவர்கள் உறுதியாக நம்புவார்கள்.

(அவர்கள் எத்தகையோரென்றால்) அவர்கள் தொழுகையை நிலை நிறுத்துவார்கள்; இன்னும், ஜகாத்தைக் கொடுப்பார்கள்; அன்றியும், அவர்கள் மறுமை வாழ்வின் மீது திட நம்பிக்கை கொள்வார்கள்.

அவர்கள் எத்தகையோரென்றால், தொழுகையை நிறைவேற்றுவார்கள், ஜகாத்தும் கொடுத்து வருவார்கள், அன்றியும், மறுமையையும் அவர்கள் உறுதி கொள்வார்கள.

those who establish prayer and give zakah, and who firmly believe in the Hereafter.

Inna allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati zayyanna lahum aAAmalahum fahum yaAAmahoona

Verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds fair-seeming to them, so that they wander about blindly.

Indeed, for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made pleasing to them their deeds, so they wander blindly.

நிச்சயமாக எவர்கள் மறுமையை நம்பவில்லையோ அவர்களுக்கு (அவர்களுடைய நிராகரிப்பின் காரணமாக) நாம் அவர்களுடைய (தீய) காரியங்களை அழகாக்கி விட்டோம். ஆகவே, அவர்கள் அதில் தட்டழிந்து திரிகின்றனர்.

நிச்சயமாக எவர்கள் மறுமை வாழ்வில் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளவில்லையோ, அவர்களுக்கு நாம் அவர்களுடைய செயல்களை அழகாக(த் தோன்றுமாறு) செய்தோம்; எனவே அவர்கள் தட்டழிந்து திரிகிறார்கள்.

நிச்சயமாக மறுமையைக் கொண்டு விசுவாசங்கொள்ளவில்லையே அத்தகையவர்கள் - (அவர்களுடைய நிராகரிப்பின் காரணமாக) அவர்களுடைய செயல்களை நாம் அவர்களுக்கு அலங்கரித்துக் காண்பித்து விட்டோம், ஆகவே, அவர்கள் (அதில்) தட்டழிந்து திரிகின்றனர்.

As for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds appealing to them, so they wander blindly.

Olaika allatheena lahum sooo alAAathabi wahum fee alakhirati humu alakhsaroona

They are those for whom there will be an evil torment (in this world). And in the Hereafter they will be the greatest losers.

Those are the ones for whom there will be the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they are the greatest losers.

இத்தகையவர்களுக்கு (அவர்கள் மரண காலத்தில்) தீய வேதனைதான் உண்டு. மறுமையிலோ அவர்கள் பெரும் நஷ்டம் அடைந்தவர்களாக இருப்பார்கள்.

அத்தகையவர்களுக்குத் தீய வேதனை உண்டு; மறுமை வாழ்வில் அவர்கள் பெரும் நஷ்டமடைபவர்களாக இருப்பார்கள்.

அவர்கள் எத்தகையோரென்றால், (இம்மையில்) அவர்களுக்குத் தீய வேதனை உண்டு, இன்னும், அவர்கள் மறுமையில் - அவர்களே பெரும் நஷ்டமடைந்தவர்கள்.

Such are those who will have a terrible punishment, and it is they who will be the greatest losers in the Hereafter.

Wainnaka latulaqqa alqurana min ladun hakeemin AAaleemin

And verily, you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) are being taught the Qur'ân from One, All-Wise, All-Knowing.

And indeed, [O Muhammad], you receive the Qur'an from one Wise and Knowing.

(நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக மிக்க ஞானமுடைய, (அனைத்தையும்) நன்கு அறிந்தவனிடம் இருந்தே இந்தக் குர்ஆன் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது.

(நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக மிக்க ஞானமுடைய (யாவற்றையும்) நன்கறிந்தவனிடமிருந்து இந்த குர்ஆன் உமக்குக் கொடுக்கப் பட்டுள்ளது.

(நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக தீர்க்கமான அறிவுடைய (யாவையும்) நன்கறிந்தவனிடமிருந்து நீர் இந்தக் குர் ஆனைக் கொடுக்கப்படுகிறீர்.

Indeed, you are receiving the Qur’an from the All-Wise, All-Knowing.

Ith qala moosa liahlihi innee anastu naran saateekum minha bikhabarin aw ateekum bishihabin qabasin laAAallakum tastaloona

(Remember) when Mûsâ (Moses) said to his household: "Verily, I have seen a fire; I will bring you from there some information, or I will bring you a burning brand, that you may warm yourselves."

[Mention] when Moses said to his family, "Indeed, I have perceived a fire. I will bring you from there information or will bring you a burning torch that you may warm yourselves."

மூஸா (தூர் என்னும் மலையின் சமீபமாகச் சென்றபொழுது) தன் குடும்பத்தினரை நோக்கி "நிச்சயமாக நான் ஒரு நெருப்பைக் காண்கிறேன். (நீங்கள் இங்கு தாமதித்து இருங்கள்.) நான் சென்று (நம்முடைய வழியைப் பற்றி) யாதொரு விஷயத்தை அதன் மூலம் அறிந்து வருகின்றேன் அல்லது நீங்கள் குளிர் காய்வதற்கு ஓர் எரி கொள்ளியேனும் கொண்டு வருவேன்" என்று கூறி,

மூஸா தம் குடும்பத்தாரை நோக்கி: “நிச்சயமாக நான் நெருப்பைக் காண்கிறேன்; உங்களுக்கு நான் அதிலிருந்து (நாம் செல்ல வேண்டிய வழி பற்றிய) செய்தியைக் கொண்டு வருகிறேன், அல்லது நீங்கள் குளிர்காயும் பொருட்டு (உங்களுக்கு அதிலிருந்து) நெருப்புக் கங்கைக் கொண்டு வருகிறேன்” என்று கூறியதை (நபியே!) நினைவு கூர்வீராக!

மூஸா, தன் குடும்பத்தினரிடம், “நிச்சயமாக நான் ஒரு நெருப்பைக் காண்கிறேன், (சென்றடைய வேண்டிய வழிபற்றி ஏதேனும் ஒரு செய்தியை அங்கிருந்து உங்களுக்குக் கொண்டு வருகிறேன், அல்லது நீங்கள் குளிர்காய்வதற்கு ஒரு நெருப்புப் பந்தத்தை(யாவது) கொண்டு வருகிறேன்” என்று கூறியதை நபியே! நீர் நினைவு கூர்வீராக!

[Remember] when Moses said to his family, “I have spotted a fire. I will bring you some news from there, or bring you a burning brand so that you may warm yourselves.”

Falamma jaaha noodiya an boorika man fee alnnari waman hawlaha wasubhana Allahi rabbi alAAalameena

But when he came to it, he was called: "Blessed is whosoever is in the fire, and whosoever is round about it! And Glorified is Allâh, the Lord of the 'آlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists).

But when he came to it, he was called, "Blessed is whoever is at the fire and whoever is around it. And exalted is Allah, Lord of the worlds.

அவர் அதன் சமீபமாக வந்த சமயத்தில் "நெருப்பில் இருப்பவர் (மலக்கின்) மீதும் அதன் சமீபமாக இருப்பவர் (மூஸா) மீதும் பெரும் பாக்கியமளிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது என்(று சப்தமிட்டுக் கூறப்பெற்)றதுடன், உலகத்தார் அனைவரையும் படைத்து வளர்த்து பரிபக்குவப்படுத்தும் அல்லாஹ் மிக்க பரிசுத்தமானவன்" என்றும் கூறப்பட்டது.

அவர் அதனிடம் வந்த போது: “நெருப்பில் இருப்பவர் மீதும், அதனைச் சூழ்ந்திருப்பவர் மீதும் பெரும் பாக்கியம் அளிக்கப் பெற்றுள்ளது; மேலும் அகிலங்களுக்கெல்லாம் இறைவனாகிய அல்லாஹ் மிகவும் பரிசுத்தமானவன்” என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டார்.

எனவே, அவர் அதனிடம் வந்த சமயத்தில், “நெருப்பில் இருப்பவர் மீதும் அதைச் சூழ இருப்பவர்(களான மலக்கு)கள் மீதும் பெரும் பாக்கியமளிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது, மேலும், அகிலத்தாரின் இரட்சகனாகிய அல்லாஹ் மிக்க பரிசுத்தமானவன்” என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டார்.

When he came to it, he was called, “Blessed is He Who is at the fire and those who are around it. Glory be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

Ya moosa innahu ana Allahu alAAazeezu alhakeemu

"O Mûsâ (Moses)! Verily, it is I, Allâh, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

O Moses, indeed it is I - Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

(அன்றி) மூஸாவே! நிச்சயமாக நான்தான் அல்லாஹ். நான் அனைவரையும் மிகைத்தவன்; (அனைத்தையும் நன்கறிந்த) ஞானமுடையவன்.

“மூஸாவே! நிச்சயமாக நானே அல்லாஹ்! (யாவரையும்) மிகைத்தவன்; ஞானம் மிக்கோன்.

“மூஸாவே! நிச்சயமாக நான்தான் அல்லாஹ் (யாவரையும்) மிகைத்தோன், தீர்க்கமான அறிவுடையோன்”.

O Moses, verily this is Me – Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

Waalqi AAasaka falamma raaha tahtazzu kaannaha jannun walla mudbiran walam yuAAaqqib ya moosa la takhaf innee la yakhafu ladayya almursaloona

"And throw down your stick!" But when he saw it moving as if it were a snake, he turned in flight, and did not look back. (It was said:) "O Mûsâ (Moses)! Fear not: verily, the Messengers fear not in front of Me.

And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it were a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allah said], "O Moses, fear not. Indeed, in My presence the messengers do not fear.

(மூஸாவே!) உங்களுடைய தடியை நீங்கள் எறியுங்கள்" என்றும் (கூறப்பட்டது. அவ்வாறு அவர் அதனை எறியவே) அது ஒரு பாம்பைப் போல் (ஆகி) நெளிவதைக் கண்டு அவர் திரும்பியும் பார்க்காது அதனைவிட்டும் விலகிச் சென்றார். (ஆகவே, நாம் மூஸாவை நோக்கி) மூஸாவே! நீங்கள் பயப்படாதீர்கள். நிச்சயமாக என்னிடத்தில் எந்தத் தூதரும் பயப்படமாட்டார்கள்.

“உம் கைத்தடியைக் கீழே எறியும்;” (அவ்வாறே அவர் அதை எறியவும்) அது பாம்புபோல் நெளிந்ததை அவர் கண்ட பொழுது, திரும்பிப் பார்க்காது (அதனை விட்டு) ஓடலானார்; “மூஸாவே! பயப்படாதீர்! நிச்சயமாக (என்) தூதர்கள் என்னிடத்தில் பயப்பட மாட்டார்கள்.”

மேலும் “நீர் உம்முடைய தடியைப் போடும்” (என்று கூறப்பட்டதும் அவர் அதைப் போட்டார்.) அது ஒரு மலைப்பாம்பைப்போல் மிகத்துரிதமாக நெளிந்து கொண்டிருக்க அதனைக் கண்டு, (பயந்து) அவர் திரும்பிப் பார்க்காது புறமுதுகிட்டுப் பின் சென்றார்; (அப்போது) மூஸாவே! நீர் பயப்படாதீர்!; நிச்சயமாக நான் (எத்தகையோனென்றால்) – தூதர்கள் என்னிடத்தில் பயப்படமாட்டார்கள்” என்று அவருக்குக் கூறப்பட்டது.

Throw down your staff!” But when he saw it slithering as if it were a snake, he turned and ran away without looking back. “O Moses, do not be afraid! Indeed, the messengers should have no fear in My presence,

Illa man thalama thumma baddala husnan baAAda sooin fainnee ghafoorun raheemun

"Except him who has done wrong and afterwards has changed evil for good; then surely, I am Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Otherwise, he who wrongs, then substitutes good after evil - indeed, I am Forgiving and Merciful.

ஆயினும் தவறிழைத்தவரைத் தவிர. (எனினும்) அவரும் தன்னுடைய குற்றத்தை (உணர்ந்து அதனை மாற்றி) நன்மை செய்தால் நிச்சயமாக நான் (அவரையும்) மன்னித்துக் கிருபை செய்பவனாக இருக்கின்றேன்.

ஆயினும், தீங்கிழைத்தவரைத் தவிர; அ(த்தகைய)வரும் (தாம் செய்த) தீமையை (உணர்ந்து அதை) நன்மையானதாக மாற்றிக் கொண்டால், நிச்சயமாக நான் மிக மன்னிப்பவனாகவும், மிக்க கிருபையுடையவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றேன்.

(ஆயினும்) எவர் அநியாயம் செய்து பின்னர் தீமைக்குப் பின் (அதனை) நன்மையாக மாற்றிக்கொள்கிறாரோ, அவரைத்தவிர – அப்பொழுது நிச்சயமாக நான் மிக்க மன்னிக்கிறவன், மிகக் கிருபையுடையவன்.

except he who does wrong, then substitutes good for evil, then I am indeed All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Waadkhil yadaka fee jaybika takhruj baydaa min ghayri sooin fee tisAAi ayatin ila firAAawna waqawmihi innahum kanoo qawman fasiqeena

"And put your hand into your bosom, it will come forth white without hurt. (These are) among the nine signs (you will take) to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his people. Verily, they are a people who are Fâsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allâh).

And put your hand into the opening of your garment [at the breast]; it will come out white without disease. [These are] among the nine signs [you will take] to Pharaoh and his people. Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient."

(மூஸாவே!) நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய கையை உங்களுடைய சட்டைப்பைக்குள் புகுத்துங்கள். அது யாதொரு மாசற்ற வெண்மையான (பிரகாசத்துடன்) வெளிவரும். (இவ்விரண்டும்) ஒன்பது அத்தாட்சிகளில் உள்ளவையாகும். (இவற்றுடன்) நீங்கள் ஃபிர்அவ்னிடமும் அவனுடைய மக்களிடமும் செல்லுங்கள். நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் பாவம் செய்யும் மக்களாக இருக்கின்றனர்" (என்றும் கூறினோம்.)

“இன்னும் உம்முடைய கையை உமது (மார்பு பக்கமாக) சட்டைப் பையில் நுழைப்பீராக!” அது ஒளி மிக்கதாய் மாசற்ற வெண்மையாக வெளிவரும். (இவ்விரு அத்தாட்சிகளும்) ஃபிர்அவ்னுக்கும், அவனுடைய சமூகத்தாருக்கும் (நீர் காண்பிக்க வேண்டிய) ஒன்பது அத்தாட்சிகளில் உள்ளவையாகும்; நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் பாவம் செய்யும் சமூகத்தாராக இருக்கின்றனர்.

(“மூஸாவே!) இன்னும் நீர் உமது கையை உம்முடைய சட்டைப்பைக்குள் நுழைப்பீராக! அது எவ்விதத் தீங்குமின்றி வெண்மையாக(ப் பிரகாசத்துடன்) வெளிவரும், (இவை இரண்டும்) ஃபிர் அவ்னிடமும், அவனுடைய சமூகத்தாரிடமும் (நீர் எடுத்துச் சென்று காண்பிப்பதற்குரிய) ஒன்பது அத்தாட்சிகளில் உள்ளவையாகும், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் பாவம் செய்யும் சமூகத்தவராக இருக்கின்றனர்” என்றும் கூறப்பட்டது!

Put your hand into your garment, it will come out shining white without blemish, as one of nine signs to Pharaoh and his people, for they are indeed a rebellious people.”

Falamma jaathum ayatuna mubsiratan qaloo hatha sihrun mubeenun

But when Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) came to them, clear to see, they said: "This is a manifest magic."

But when there came to them Our visible signs, they said, "This is obvious magic."

(மூஸாவுக்கு கொடுக்கப்பட்ட) நம்முடைய பார்த்து புரிந்து கொள்ளும் படியான அத்தாட்சிகள் அவர்களிடம் வரவே "இது சந்தேகமற்ற சூனியம்தான்" என்று அவர்கள் கூறினார்கள்.

இவ்வாறு, நம்முடைய பிரகாசமான அத்தாட்சிகள் அவர்களிடம் வந்த போது, அவர்கள் “இது பகிரங்கமான சூனியமேயாகும்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

நம்முடைய அத்தாட்சிகள் (மிகத்தெளிவாக) பார்க்கக்கூடியவையாக அவர்களிடம் வந்தபொழுது “இது தெளிவான சூனியம்தான்” என்று அவர்கள் கூறினார்கள்.

But when Our visible signs came to them, they said, “This is clear magic.”

Wajahadoo biha waistayqanatha anfusuhum thulman waAAuluwwan faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almufsideena

And they denied them (those Ayât) wrongfully and arrogantly, though their own selves were convinced thereof [i.e. those (Ayât) are from Allâh, and Mûsâ (Moses) is the Messenger of Allâh in truth, but they disliked to obey Mûsâ (Moses), and hated to believe in his Message of Monotheism]. So, see what was the end of the Mufsidûn (disbelievers, evildoers, liars and disobedient to Allâh).

And they rejected them, while their [inner] selves were convinced thereof, out of injustice and haughtiness. So see how was the end of the corrupters.

(அத்தாட்சிகளைக் கண்ட) அவர்களுடைய உள்ளங்கள் அவைகளை (உண்மையென) உறுதிகொண்டபோதிலும், கர்வம் கொண்டு அநியாயமாக அவைகளை அவர்கள் மறுத்தார்கள். ஆகவே, இந்த விஷமிகளின் முடிவு எவ்வாறாயிற்று என்பதை (நபியே!) நீங்கள் கவனியுங்கள்.

அவர்களுடைய உள்ளங்கள் அவற்றை (உண்மையென) உறுதி கொண்ட போதிலும், அநியாயமாகவும், பெருமை கொண்டவர்களாகவும் அவர்கள் அவற்றை மறுத்தார்கள். ஆனால், இந்த விஷமிகளின் முடிவு என்ன வாயிற்று என்பதை நீர் கவனிப்பீராக.  

அவர்களுடைய இதயங்கள் அதனை (உண்மையென) உறுதிகொண்ட நிலையில் அநியாயமாகவும், அகம்பாவத்தாலும் அதனை அவர்கள் மறுத்தார்கள், ஆகவே, இந்த குழப்பவாதிகளின் முடிவு எப்படி இருந்தது என்பதை (நபியே!) நீர் (கவனித்துப்) பார்ப்பீராக!

They denied them wrongfully and arrogantly, although their hearts were convinced that they were true. See then how was the end of those who spread corruption!

Walaqad atayna dawooda wasulaymana AAilman waqala alhamdu lillahi allathee faddalana AAala katheerin min AAibadihi almumineena

And indeed We gave knowledge to Dâwûd (David) and Sulaimân (Solomon), and they both said: "All praise and thanks are Allâh's, Who has preferred us above many of His believing slaves!"

And We had certainly given to David and Solomon knowledge, and they said, "Praise [is due] to Allah, who has favored us over many of His believing servants."

தாவூதுக்கும், ஸுலைமானுக்கும் நிச்சயமாக நாம் (இம்மை மறுமையில் பயனளிக்கக்கூடிய) கல்வியைக் கொடுத்தோம். அதற்கு அவ்விருவரும் "புகழ் அனைத்தும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே சொந்தமானவை. அவன்தான் நம்பிக்கை கொண்ட தன்னுடைய நல்லடியார்களில் பலரைவிட எங்களை மேன்மையாக்கி வைத்தான்" என்று கூறி (நன்றி செலுத்தி)னார்கள்.

தாவூதுக்கும், ஸுலைமானுக்கும் நிச்சயமாக நாம் கல்வி ஞானத்தைக் கொடுத்தோம்; அதற்கு அவ்விருவரும்: “புகழ் அனைத்தும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே உரியது; அவன் தான், முஃமின்களான தன் நல்லடியார்களில் அநேகரைவிட நம்மை மேன்மையாக்கினான்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

தாவூதுக்கும் ஸுலைமானுக்கும் நிச்சயமாக நாம் கல்வியைக் கொடுத்தோம், “விசுவாசங்கொண்ட தன்னுடைய (நல்ல) அடியார்களில் அநேகரைவிட எங்களை மேன்மையாக்கி வைத்தவனாகிய அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே புகழனைத்தும் உரியது” என்று அவ்விவரும் கூறி நன்றி செலுத்தினார்கள்.

We gave David and Solomon knowledge, and they said, “All praise be to Allah, Who has favored us over many of His believing slaves.”

Wawaritha sulaymanu dawooda waqala ya ayyuha alnnasu AAullimna mantiqa alttayri waooteena min kulli shayin inna hatha lahuwa alfadlu almubeenu

And Sulaimân (Solomon) inherited (the knowledge of) Dâwûd (David). He said: "O mankind! We have been taught the language of birds, and on us have been bestowed all things. This, verily, is an evident grace (from Allâh)."

And Solomon inherited David. He said, "O people, we have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given from all things. Indeed, this is evident bounty."

பின்னர் தாவூதுக்கு ஸுலைமான் வாரிசானார். (ஸுலைமான் மனிதர்களை நோக்கி) "மனிதர்களே! எங்களுக்குப் பறவைகளின் மொழி கற்பிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. எங்களுக்கு (வேண்டிய) எல்லா பொருள்களும் (ஏராளமாகவே) கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன. நிச்சயமாக இது (இறைவனின்) மிக்க தெளிவானதொரு அருளாகும்" என்று கூறி(யும் நன்றி செலுத்தி)னார்.

பின்னர், ஸுலைமான் தாவூதின் வாரிசானார்; அவர் கூறினார்: “மனிதர்களே! பறவைகளின் மொழி எங்களுக்குக் கற்றுக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது; மேலும், நாங்கள் எல்லா விதப் பொருள்களிலிருந்தும் (ஏராளமாக) அளிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளோம்; நிச்சயமாக இது தெளிவான அருள் கொடையாகும்.

மேலும், ஸுலைமான், தாவூதுக்கு வாரிசாக ஆனார், இன்னும், “மனிதர்களே! பறவைகளின் மொழியை நாங்கள் கற்றுக்கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளோம், இன்னும், (எங்களுக்கு வேண்டிய) ஒவ்வொரு பொருளிலிருந்தும் (ஏராளமாக) நாங்கள் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளோம், நிச்சயமாக இது - இதுதான் (அல்லாஹ்வின்) மிகத் தெளிவான பேரருளாகும்” என்று அவர் கூறி நன்றியும் செலுத்தினார்.

Solomon succeeded David, and said, “O people, we have been taught the speech of birds, and we have been given from all things. This is indeed a clear favor.”

Wahushira lisulaymana junooduhu mina aljinni waalinsi waalttayri fahum yoozaAAoona

And there were gathered before Sulaimân (Solomon) his hosts of jinn and men, and birds, and they all were set in battle order (marching forward).

And gathered for Solomon were his soldiers of the jinn and men and birds, and they were [marching] in rows.

ஸுலைமானுடைய ராணுவம் ஜின்கள், மனிதர்கள், பறவைகள் ஆகியவைகளிலிருந்து திரட்டப்பட்டு அவை இனவாரியாகப் பிரிக்கப்பட்டு அணியணியாகப் புறப்பட்டன.

மேலும் ஸுலைமானுக்கு ஜின்கள் மனிதர்கள் பறவைகள் ஆகியவற்றிலிருந்து அவரது படைகள் திரட்டப்பட்டு, அவை (தனித் தனியாகப்) பிரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.

மேலும், ஸுலைமானுக்கு, ஜின்கள், மனிதர்கள், பறவைகள் முதலியவற்றிலிருந்து அவரது படைகள் அவர் முன் திரட்டப்பட்டது, பிறகு (அவர்களில் முன்னுள்ளவர்களுடன் அவர்களில் பின்னுள்ளவர்கள் சேர்ந்து கொள்வதற்காக) – அவர்கள் நிறுத்தி வைக்கப்பட்டனர்.

Solomon’s armies of jinn, men and birds were assembled before him, marching in organized ranks,

Hatta itha ataw AAala wadi alnnamli qalat namlatun ya ayyuha alnnamlu odkhuloo masakinakum la yahtimannakum sulaymanu wajunooduhu wahum la yashAAuroona

Till, when they came to the valley of the ants, one of the ants said: "O ants! Enter your dwellings, lest Sulaimân (Solomon) and his hosts should crush you, while they perceive not."

Until, when they came upon the valley of the ants, an ant said, "O ants, enter your dwellings that you not be crushed by Solomon and his soldiers while they perceive not."

அவை எறும்புகள் வசிக்கும் ஓர் ஓடையின் சமீபமாக வந்தபொழுது அதிலொரு பெண் எறும்பு (மற்ற எறும்புகளை நோக்கி) "எறும்புகளே! நீங்கள் உங்கள் வீடுகளுக்குள் நுழைந்து கொள்ளுங்கள். ஸுலைமானும் அவருடைய ராணுவமும் (நீங்கள் இருப்பதை) அறியாது உங்களை(த் தங்கள் கால்களால்) மிதித்துவிட வேண்டாம்" என்று கூறியது.

இறுதியாக, எறும்புகள் நிறைந்த இடத்திற்கு அவர்கள் வந்த போது ஓர் எறும்பு (மற்ற எறும்புகளை நோக்கி:) “எறும்புகளே! நீங்கள் உங்கள் புற்றுகளுக்குள் நுழைந்து கொள்ளுங்கள்; ஸுலைமானும் அவருடைய சேனைகளும், அவர்கள் அறியாதிருக்கும் நிலையில் உங்களை நசுக்கி விடாதிருக்கும் பொருட்டு (அவ்வாறு செய்யுங்கள்)“ என்று கூறிற்று.

இறுதியாக அவர்கள் எறும்புகள் வசிக்கும் ஓர் ஓடையின் சமீபமாக வந்தபொழுது (அவற்றில்) ஓர் எறும்பு (மற்ற எறும்புகளிடம்,) “எறும்புகளே நீங்கள் உங்கள் புற்றுகளுக்குள் நுழைந்து கொள்ளுங்கள், ஸூலைமானும், அவருடைய படையினரும் உங்களைப்பற்றி உணராது, உங்களைத் திண்ணமாக மிதித்துவிட வேண்டாம்” என்று கூறியது.

until when they reached a valley of the ants, an ant said, “O ants, get into your dwellings, so Solomon and his armies do not crush you unknowingly.”

Fatabassama dahikan min qawliha waqala rabbi awziAAnee an ashkura niAAmataka allatee anAAamta AAalayya waAAala walidayya waan aAAmala salihan tardahu waadkhilnee birahmatika fee AAibadika alssaliheena

So he [Sulaimân (Solomon)] smiled, amused at her speech and said: "My Lord! Grant me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favours which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds that will please You, and admit me by Your Mercy among Your righteous slaves."

So [Solomon] smiled, amused at her speech, and said, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants."

அதன் சொல்லைக் கேள்வியுற்று ஸுலைமான் சிரித்தவராக புன்னகைப் பூத்தார். மேலும், "என் இறைவனே! நீ என் மீதும், என் தாய் தந்தை மீதும் புரிந்த உன்னுடைய அருள்களுக்கு உனக்கு நான் நன்றி செலுத்த நீ அருள் புரிவாயாக! உனக்குத் திருப்தியளிக்கக் கூடிய நற் செயல்களையும் நான் செய்ய(க்கூடிய பாக்கியத்தை எனக்கு) அருள் புரிந்து, உன்னுடைய கிருபையைக் கொண்டு உன்னுடைய நல்லடியார்களுடனும் என்னைச் சேர்த்து விடுவாயாக!" என்று பிரார்த்தனை செய்தார்.

அப்போது அதன் சொல்லைக் கேட்டு, அவர் புன்னகை கொண்டு சிரித்தார். இன்னும், “என் இறைவா! நீ என் மீதும், என் பெற்றோர் மீதும் புரிந்துள்ள உன் அருட்கொடைகளுக்காக, நான் நன்றி செலுத்தவும், நீ பொருந்திக் கொள்ளும் விதத்தில் நான் நன்மைகள் செய்யவும், எனக்கு அருள் செய்வாயாக! இன்னும் உம் கிருபையைக் கொண்டு என்னை உன்னுடைய நல்லடியார்களில் சேர்த்தருள்வாயாக!” என்று பிரார்த்தித்தார்.

அப்போது அதனுடைய சொல்லால் சிரித்தவராக அவர் புன்னகை புரிந்தார், “என் இரட்சகனே! நீ என் மீதும், என் தாய் தந்தையர் மீதும், புரிந்த உன்னுடைய அருள்களுக்கு (உனக்கு) நான் நன்றி செலுத்துவதற்கும், எதனை நீ பொருந்திக்கொள்வாயோ அத்தகைய நற்செயலையும் நான் செய்யக்கூடிய நற்பேறை (எனக்கு) அருள் புரிவாயாக! இன்னும், உன்னுடைய கிருபையைக் கொண்டு உன்னுடைய நல்லடியார்களின் கூட்டத்தில் என்னைப் பிரவேசிக்கச் செய்வாயாக!” என்று (பிரார்த்தனை செய்து) அவர் கூறினார்.

So he smiled in amusement at her words and said, “My Lord, inspire me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and my parents, and to do righteous deeds that please you. And admit me, by Your mercy, among Your righteous slaves.”

Watafaqqada alttayra faqala ma liya la ara alhudhuda am kana mina alghaibeena

He inspected the birds, and said: "What is the matter that I see not the hoopoe? Or is he among the absentees?

And he took attendance of the birds and said, "Why do I not see the hoopoe - or is he among the absent?

அவர் பறவைகளைப் பரிசீலனை செய்தபொழுது "என்ன காரணம்? "ஹுத்ஹுத்" என்னும் பறவையை நான் காணவில்லையே! (அது பறவைகளின் நெருக்கடியில்) மறைந்திருக்கின்றதா? (அல்லது என் அனுமதியின்றி எங்கேனும் சென்றுவிட்டதா?)

அவர் பறவைகளை(ப் பற்றியும்) பரிசீலனை செய்து: “நான் (இங்கே) ஹுது ஹுது(ப் பறவையைக்) காணவில்லையே என்ன காரணம்? அல்லது அது மறைந்தவற்றில் நின்றும் ஆகி விட்டதோ?” என்று கூறினார்.

இன்னும் அவர், பறவைகளைக் கணக்கெடுக்கப் பார்வையிட்டார், “எனக்கு என்ன ஆயிற்று? (பறவைகளில்) “ஹுத்ஹுதை” நான் காணவில்லையே! அல்லது அது (வராமல்) மறைந்தவற்றில் ஆகிவிட்டதா?” என்று கூறினார்.

Once he checked the birds, and said, “Why is it that I do not see the hoopoe – or is he among the absent?

LaoAAaththibannahu AAathaban shadeedan aw laathbahannahu aw layatiyannee bisultanin mubeenin

"I will surely punish him with a severe torment or slaughter him, unless he brings me a clear reason."

I will surely punish him with a severe punishment or slaughter him unless he brings me clear authorization."

(அவ்வாறாயின்) நிச்சயமாக நான் அதனைக் கடினமான வேதனை செய்வேன். அல்லது அதனை அறுத்துவிடுவேன். அல்லது தக்க ஆதாரத்தை அது (என் முன்) கொண்டு வர வேண்டும்" என்று கூறினார்.

“நான் நிச்சயமாக அதைக் கடுமையான வேதனையைக் கொண்டு வேதனை செய்வேன்; அல்லது அதனை நிச்சயமாக அறுத்து விடுவேன்; அல்லது (வராததற்கு) அது என்னிடம் தெளிவான ஆதாரத்தைக் கொண்டு வர வேண்டும்” என்றும் கூறினார்.

“நிச்சயமாக நான் அதனைக் கடினமான வேதனையாக வேதனை செய்வேன், அல்லது அதனை நிச்சயமாக நான் அறுத்துவிடுவேன், அல்லது அது வராததற்குத் தெளிவான ஆதாரத்தைத் திட்டமாக அது (என் முன்) கொண்டுவர வேண்டும்” என்று கூறினார்.

I will surely punish him severely, or slaughter him, unless he brings me a valid reason.”

Famakatha ghayra baAAeedin faqala ahattu bima lam tuhit bihi wajituka min sabain binabain yaqeenin

But the hoopoe stayed not long, he (came up and) said: "I have grasped (the knowledge of a thing) which you have not grasped and I have come to you from Saba' (Sheba) with true news.

But the hoopoe stayed not long and said, "I have encompassed [in knowledge] that which you have not encompassed, and I have come to you from Sheba with certain news.

(இவ்வாறு கூறி) அதிக நேரமாகவில்லை. (அதற்குள் ஹுத்ஹுத் என்னும் பறவை அவர் முன் தோன்றி) "நீங்கள் அறியாத ஒரு விஷயத்தை நான் அறிந்துகொண்டு "ஸபா"வைப் பற்றி நிச்சயமான (உண்மைச்) செய்தியைக் கொண்டு வந்திருக்கிறேன்.

(இவ்வாறு கூறி) சிறிது நேரம் தாமதித்தார்; அதற்குள் (ஹுது ஹுது வந்து) கூறிற்று: “தாங்கள் அறியாத ஒரு விஷயத்தை நான் அறிந்து கொண்டேன். “ஸபா”விலிருந்து உம்மிடம் உறுதியான செய்தியைக் கொண்டு வந்திருக்கிறேன்.”

(இவ்வாறு கூறி) சிறிது நேரம் தாமதித்தார், (அதற்குள் ஹுத் ஹுத் வந்து) “நீங்கள் அறியாத ஒரு விஷயத்தை நான் அறிந்து கொண்டேன் ஸபஉவிலிருந்து உம்மிடம் உறுதியான செய்தியைக் கொண்டு வந்திருக்கிறேன்” என்று அது கூறியது.

It was not long before the hoopoe came and said, “I have learned something that you do not; I come to you from Sheba with sure news.

Innee wajadtu imraatan tamlikuhum waootiyat min kulli shayin walaha AAarshun AAatheemun

"I found a woman ruling over them, she has been given all things that could be possessed by any ruler of the earth, and she has a great throne.

Indeed, I found [there] a woman ruling them, and she has been given of all things, and she has a great throne.

மெய்யாகவே அந்நாட்டு மக்களை ஒரு பெண் ஆட்சி புரிவதை நான் கண்டேன். எல்லா வசதிகளும் அவள் பெற்றிருக்கிறாள். மகத்தானதொரு சிம்மாசனமும் அவளுக்கு இருக்கின்றது.

“நிச்சயமாக அ(த் தேசத்த)வர்களை ஒரு பெண் ஆட்சி புரிவதை நான் கண்டேன்; இன்னும், அவளுக்கு (தேவையான) ஒவ்வொரு பொருளும் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது; மகத்தான ஓர் அரியாசனமும் அவளுக்கு இருக்கிறது.

“அவர்களை (அங்கு) ஆட்சி செய்கின்ற ஒரு பெண்ணை நிச்சயமாக நான் கண்டேன், ஒவ்வொரு பொருளிலிருந்தும் அவள் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளாள், மகத்தான சிம்மாசனமும் அவளுக்கு இருக்கின்றது”

I found a woman ruling over them, who has been given of all things, and she has a great throne.

Wajadtuha waqawmaha yasjudoona lilshshamsi min dooni Allahi wazayyana lahumu alshshaytanu aAAmalahum fasaddahum AAani alssabeeli fahum la yahtadoona

"I found her and her people worshipping the sun instead of Allâh, and Shaitân (Satan) has made their deeds fair-seeming to them, and has barred them from (Allâh's) way, so they have no guidance."

I found her and her people prostrating to the sun instead of Allah, and Satan has made their deeds pleasing to them and averted them from [His] way, so they are not guided,

அவளும் அவளுடைய மக்களும் அல்லாஹ்வையன்றிச் சூரியனைச் சிரம் பணிந்து வணங்குவதை நான் கண்டேன். அவர்களுடைய இக்காரியத்தை ஷைத்தான் அவர்களுக்கு அழகாகக் காண்பித்து, அவர்களை நேரான பாதையிலிருந்து தடுத்து விட்டான். ஆதலால், அவர்கள் நேரான வழியை அடையவில்லை.

“அவளும், அவளுடைய சமூகத்தார்களும் அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி, சூரியனுக்கு ஸுஜூது செய்வதை நான் கண்டேன்; அவர்களுடைய (இத்தவறான) செயல்களை அவர்களுக்கு ஷைத்தான் அழகாகக் காண்பித்து, அவர்களை நேரான வழியிலிருந்து தடுத்துள்ளான்; ஆகவே அவர்கள் நேர்வழி பெறவில்லை.

“அவளையும், அவளுடைய சமூகத்தாரையும் அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி சூரியனுக்குச் சிரம்பணிந்து வணங்குபவர்களாக நான் கண்டேன், அவர்களுடைய இக்காரியங்களை ஷைத்தான் அவர்களுக்கு அலங்காரமாகக் காண்பித்தும் விட்டான், எனவே, அவர்களை நேரான பாதையிலிருந்து அவன் தடுததுவிட்டான், ஆகவே, அவர்கள் நேர்வழி பெறவில்லை.

I found her and her people prostrating before the sun instead of Allah. Satan has made their deeds appealing to them and turned them away from the right way, so they are not guided.

Alla yasjudoo lillahi allathee yukhriju alkhabaa fee alssamawati waalardi wayaAAlamu ma tukhfoona wama tuAAlinoona

[As Shaitân (Satan) has barred them from Allâh's way] so they do not worship (prostrate themselves before) Allâh, Who brings to light what is hidden in the heavens and the earth, and knows what you conceal and what you reveal. (Tafsir At-Tabarî)

[And] so they do not prostrate to Allah, who brings forth what is hidden within the heavens and the earth and knows what you conceal and what you declare -

வானங்களிலும், பூமியிலும் மறைந்திருப்பவைகளை வெளிப்படுத்தக் கூடிய அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு அவர்கள் சிரம் பணிந்து வணங்க வேண்டாமா? அன்றி, நீங்கள் மறைத்துக் கொள்வதையும் நீங்கள் வெளியாக்குவதையும் அவன் நன்கறிந்து கொள்கிறான்.

“வானங்களிலும், பூமியிலும், மறைந்திருப்பவற்றை வெளியாக்குகிறவனும்; இன்னும் நீங்கள் மறைப்பதையும், நீங்கள் வெளியாக்குவதையும் அறிபவனுமாகிய அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு அவர்கள் ஸுஜூது செய்து வணங்க வேண்டாமா?

“வானங்களிலும் பூமியிலும் மறைந்திருப்பவற்றை வெளிக்கொணர்பவனும் நீங்கள் மறைத்துக் கொள்வதையும், நீங்கள் வெளியாக்குவதையும் நன்கறிபவனுமாகிய அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு அவர்கள் சிரம்பணியாமல் இருப்பதற்கு (ஷைத்தான் தடுத்துவிட்டதே) காரணமாகும்.

so that they do not prostrate before Allah Who brings forth what is hidden in the heavens and earth, and Who knows all that you conceal and all that you reveal.

Allahu la ilaha illa huwa rabbu alAAarshi alAAatheemi

Allâh, Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Lord of the Supreme Throne!

Allah - there is no deity except Him, Lord of the Great Throne."

அந்த அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர வணக்கத்திற்குரிய இறைவன் வேறு யாரும் இல்லை. அவன்தான் மகத்தான அர்ஷுடையவன்" என்று கூறிற்று.

“அல்லாஹ் - அவனையன்றி வணக்கத்திற்குரிய நாயன் (வேறு) இல்லை. (அவன்) மகத்தான அர்ஷுக்கு உரிய இறைவன்” (என்று ஹுது ஹுது கூறிற்று).

அல்லாஹ்-அவனைத் தவிர (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய வேறு) நாயன் இல்லை, அவன்தான் மகத்தான அர்ஷுக்குரியவன்” (என்று ஹுத் ஹுது கூறிற்று)

Allah; none has the right to be worshiped except Him, the Lord of the Mighty Throne.”

Qala sananthuru asadaqta am kunta mina alkathibeena

[Sulaimân (Solomon)] said: "We shall see whether you speak the truth or you are (one) of the liars.

[Solomon] said, "We will see whether you were truthful or were of the liars.

(அதற்கு ஸுலைமான்) "நீ உண்மை சொல்கிறாயா அல்லது பொய் சொல்கிறாயா? என்பதை அதிசீக்கிரத்தில் நாம் கண்டு கொள்வோம்.

(அதற்கு ஸுலைமான்:) “நீ உண்மை கூறுகிறாயா அல்லது பொய்யர்களில் நீ இருக்கிறாயா என்பதை நாம் விரைவிலேயே கண்டு கொள்வோம்” என்று கூறினார்.

“நீ உண்மை சொல்கிறாயா, அல்லது பொய்யர்களில் நீ இருக்கிறாயா? என்பதை நாம் காண்போம்” என்றும் ஸுலைமானாகிய அவர் கூறினார்.

Solomon said, “We will see whether you have told the truth or you are one of the liars.

Ithhab bikitabee hatha faalqih ilayhim thumma tawalla AAanhum faonthur matha yarjiAAoona

"Go you with this letter of mine and deliver it to them, then draw back from them and see what (answer) they return."

Take this letter of mine and deliver it to them. Then leave them and see what [answer] they will return."

என்னுடைய இக்கடிதத்தைக் கொண்டு போய் அவர்களின் முன் எறிந்துவிட்டு அவர்களைவிட்டு விலகி (மறைவாக இருந்து கொண்டு) அவர்கள் என்ன முடிவுக்கு வருகிறார்கள் என்பதை நீ கவனித்துவா" என்று கூறினார்.

“என்னுடைய இந்தக் கடிதத்தைக் கொண்டு செல்; அவர்களிடம் இதைப் போட்டு விடு; பின்னர் அவர்களை விட்டுப் பின் வாங்கி; அவர்கள் என்ன முடிவு செய்கிறார்கள் என்பதைக் கவனி” (என்று கூறினார்).

“என்னுடைய இக்கடிதத்தைக் கொண்டு சென்று, அவர்கள்பால் போட்டுவிட்டுப் பின்னர் அவர்களை விட்டுப்பின்வாங்கி (இருந்து) அவர்கள் என்ன முடிவுக்கு வருகிறார்கள் என்பதை நீ கவனித்து வா” என்று கூறினார்.

Take this letter of mine and deliver it to them, then withdraw and see how they respond.”

Qalat ya ayyuha almalao innee olqiya ilayya kitabun kareemun

She said: "O chiefs! Verily, here is delivered to me a noble letter,

She said, "O eminent ones, indeed, to me has been delivered a noble letter.

(அவ்வாறே அப்பறவை அவர்கள் முன் அக்கடிதத்தை எறியவே அதனைக் கண்ணுற்ற அவ்வரசி தன் பிரதானிகளை நோக்கி) "தலைவர்களே! மிக்க கண்ணியமுள்ள ஒரு கடிதம் என் முன் எறியப்பட்டிருக்கின்றது.

(அவ்வாறே ஹுது ஹுது செய்ததும் அரசி) சொன்னாள்: “பிரமுகர்களே! (மிக்க) கண்ணியமுள்ள ஒரு கடிதம் என்னிடம் போடப்பட்டுள்ளது.”

(அவ்வாறே அப்பறவை செய்தது, அக்கடிதத்தைப் பெற்ற அவ்வரசி) “பிரதானிகளே! மிக்க கண்ணியமுள்ள ஒரு கடிதம் என் முன் போடப்பட்டிருக்கின்றது” என்று அவள் கூறினாள்.

The Queen said, “O chiefs, a noble letter has been delivered to me.

Innahu min sulaymana wainnahu bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi

"Verily, it is from Sulaimân (Solomon), and verily, it (reads): In the Name of Allâh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful;

Indeed, it is from Solomon, and indeed, it reads: 'In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful,

மெய்யாகவே அது ஸுலைமானிடமிருந்து வந்துள்ளது. நிச்சயமாக அ(தன் ஆரம்பத்)தில் "பிஸ்மில்லாஹிர்ரஹ்மானிர்ரஹீம்" என்றெழுதி,

நிச்சயமாக இது ஸுலைமானிடமிருந்து வந்துள்ளது; இன்னும் நிச்சயமாக இது: “பிஸ்மில்லாஹிர் ரஹ்மானிர் ரஹீம்” என்று (துவங்கி) இருக்கிறது.

“இது ஸுலைமானிடமிருந்து வந்துள்ளது, இன்னும், நிச்சயமாக அ(தன் ஆரம்பமான)து பிஸ்மில்லாஹிர் ரஹ்மானிர் ரஹீம் என்று” (எழுதப்பட்டு) இருக்கிறது.

It is from Solomon, and it reads, ‘In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

"Be you not exalted against me, but come to me as Muslims (true believers who submit to Allâh with full submission)."'

Be not haughty with me but come to me in submission [as Muslims].' "

நீங்கள் (கர்வம் கொண்டு) என்னிடம் பெருமை பாராட்டாதீர்கள். (இறைவனுக்கு) முற்றிலும் வழிப்பட்டவர்களாக என்னிடம் வாருங்கள்" (என்றும் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கின்றது என்று கூறி)

“நீங்கள் என்னிடம் பெருமையடிக்காதீர்கள். (இறைவனுக்கு) முற்றிலும் வழிப்பட்டவர்களாக என்னிடம் வாருங்கள்” (என்றும் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறது).  

“நீங்கள் என் மீது (எனக்கெதிராக) பெருமை பாராட்டாதீர்கள், (அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) முற்றிலும் கீழ்ப்படிந்தவர்களாக என்னிடம் வாருங்கள்” என்று(ம் எழுதப்பட்டு இருக்கின்றது (என அவள் கூறினாள்).

Do not be arrogant towards me, but come to me in full submission.”

Qalat ya ayyuha almalao aftoonee fee amree ma kuntu qatiAAatan amran hatta tashhadoona

She said: "O chiefs! Advise me in (this) case of mine. I decide no case till you are present with me (and give me your opinions)."

She said, "O eminent ones, advise me in my affair. I would not decide a matter until you witness [for] me."

(தன்னுடைய பிரதானிகளை நோக்கி) "தலைவர்களே என்னுடைய இவ்விஷயத்தில் நீங்கள் (உங்கள்) ஆலோசனைகளைக் கூறுங்கள். என் சமூகத்தில் நீங்கள் நேராக வந்து (அபிப்பிராயம்) கூறாத வரையில் நான் எவ்விஷயத்தையும் முடிவு செய்பவளல்ல" என்று அவள் கூறினாள்.

எனவே பிரமுகர்களே! “என்னுடைய (இந்த) விஷயத்தில் ஆலோசனை கூறுவீர்களாக! நீங்கள் என்னிடம் நேரிடையாகக் கருத்துச் சொல்லாதவரை நான் எந்த காரியத்தையும் முடிவு செய்பவளல்ல” என்று கூறினாள்.

“பிரதானிகளே! என்னுடைய (இவ்) விஷயத்தில் நீங்கள் (உங்கள்) ஆலோசனையைக் கூறுவீர்களாக! எனக்கு நீங்கள் முன்னிலையாகி (அபிப்பிராயம்) கூறாதவரையில், நான் எவ்விஷயத்தையும் முடிவு செய்பவளல்ல” என்று அவள் கூறினாள்.

She said, “O chiefs, advice me in this matter of mine, for I would make no decision without your consent.”

Qaloo nahnu oloo quwwatin waoloo basin shadeedin waalamru ilayki faonthuree matha tamureena

They said: "We have great strength, and great ability for war, but it is for you to command; so think over what you will command."

They said, "We are men of strength and of great military might, but the command is yours, so see what you will command."

அதற்கவர்கள் "நாங்கள் பலவான்களாகவும், கடுமையாக போர் செய்யக் கூடியவர்களாகவும் இருக்கின்றோம். (போர் செய்வதோ, சமாதானம் செய்வதோ) உங்கள் உத்தரவைப் பொறுத்திருக்கின்றது. ஆகவே, நீங்கள் உத்தரவு செய்வ(திலுள்ள சாதக பாதகத்)தை நன்கு கவனித்துப் பாருங்கள்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

“நாங்கள் பெரும் பலசாலிகளாகவும், கடினமாக போர் செய்யக்கூடியவர்களாகவும் இருக்கிறோம்; (ஆயினும்) முடிவு உங்களைப் பொறுத்தது, என்ன முடிவு எடுக்கிறீர்கள் என்பதை சிந்தித்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள்” என்று அவர்கள் சொன்னார்கள்.

அ(தற்க)வர்கள் “நாங்கள் பலசாலிகளாகவும், கடுமையாக போர் செய்யக் கூடியவர்களாகவும் இருக்கின்றோம், இன்னும், கட்டளையிடுவது உங்களிடமுள்ளது, ஆகவே, நீங்கள் எதைக் கட்டளையிடுகிறீர்கள் என்பதை நன்கு கவனித்துப் பாருங்கள்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

They said, “We are powerful and great fighters, but the decision is yours, so consider what you will command.”

Qalat inna almulooka itha dakhaloo qaryatan afsadooha wajaAAaloo aAAizzata ahliha athillatan wakathalika yafAAaloona

She said: "Verily, kings, when they enter a town (country), they despoil it and make the most honourable amongst its people the lowest. And thus they do.

She said, "Indeed kings - when they enter a city, they ruin it and render the honored of its people humbled. And thus do they do.

அதற்கவள் "அரசர்கள் யாதொரு ஊரில் நுழைந்தால் நிச்சயமாக அதனை அழித்துவிடுகின்றனர். அன்றி, அங்குள்ள கண்ணியவான்களை கேவலப்பட்டவர்களாக ஆக்கிவிடுகின்றனர். (ஆகவே,) இவர்களும் இவ்வாறே செய்யக்கூடும்.

அவள் கூறினாள்: “அரசர்கள் ஒரு நகரத்துள் (படையெடுத்து) நுழைவார்களானால், நிச்சயமாக அதனை அழித்து விடுகிறார்கள்; அதிலுள்ள கண்ணியமுள்ளவர்களை, சிறுமைப் படுத்தி விடுகிறார்கள்; அவ்வாறு தான் இவர்களும் செய்வார்கள்.

அ(தற்க)வள்: “நிச்சயமாக அரசர்கள் எந்த ஒரு ஊரிலும் (படையெடுத்து) நுழைவார்களானால்- அதனைப் பாழ்படுத்தி விடுகின்றனர்; அன்றியும், அங்குள்ள கண்ணியவான்களை (இழிவுபடுத்தி) சிறுமையாளர்களாக ஆக்கிவிடுகின்றனர், இவர்களும் அவ்வாறே செய்வார்கள்” என்று கூறினாள்.

She said, “When kings enter a town, they ravage it and humiliate its notables; this is what they really do.

Wainnee mursilatun ilayhim bihadiyyatin fanathiratun bima yarjiAAu almursaloona

"But verily, I am going to send him a present, and see with what (answer) the messengers return."

But indeed, I will send to them a gift and see with what [reply] the messengers will return."

ஆகவே, நான் அவர்களிடம் (உயர்ந்த பொருள்களைக் கொண்ட) ஒரு காணிக்கையை அனுப்பி வைத்து (அதனைக் கொண்டு செல்லும்) தூதர்கள் (அவரிடமிருந்து) என்ன பதில் கொண்டு வருகின்றார்கள் என்பதை நான் எதிர்பார்த்திருப்பேன்" என்று கூறி (அவ்வாறே அனுப்பி வைத்தாள்.)

“ஆகவே, நிச்சயமாக நான் அவர்களுக்கு ஓர் அன்பளிப்பை அனுப்பி, (அதைக் கொண்டு செல்லும்) தூதர்கள் என்ன கொண்டு வருகிறார்கள் என்பதைப் பார்க்கப் போகிறேன்.”

மேலும், “நிச்சயமாக நான் அவர்களிடம் ஓர் அன்பளிப்பை அனுப்பி வைக்கக்கூடியவளாக இருக்கிறேன்; பின்னர், தூதர்கள் என்ன பதில் கொண்டு வருகிறார்கள் என்பதை நான் பார்க்கப் போகிறேன்” (என்றும் கூறினாள்)

But I will send them a gift, then see with what response the envoys will return.”

Falamma jaa sulaymana qala atumiddoonani bimalin fama ataniya Allahu khayrun mimma atakum bal antum bihadiyyatikum tafrahoona

So, when (the messengers with the present) came to Sulaimân (Solomon), he said: "Will you help me in wealth? What Allâh has given me is better than that which He has given you! Nay, you rejoice in your gift!"

So when they came to Solomon, he said, "Do you provide me with wealth? But what Allah has given me is better than what He has given you. Rather, it is you who rejoice in your gift.

அந்தத் தூதர்கள் ஸுலைமானிடம் வரவே (ஸுலைமான் அவர்களை நோக்கி) "நீங்கள் பொருளைக் கொண்டு எனக்கு உதவி செய்யக் கருதுகின்றீர்களா? அல்லாஹ் எனக்குக் கொடுத்து இருப்பவைகள் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்திருப்பவைகளை விட (அதிகமாகவும்) மேலானதாகவும் இருக்கின்றன. உங்களுடைய இக்காணிக்கையைக் கொண்டு நீங்களே சந்தோஷமடையுங்கள். (அது எனக்கு வேண்டியதில்லை) என்றும்,

அவ்வாறே (தூதர்கள்) ஸுலைமானிடம் வந்தபோது; அவர் சொன்னார்: “நீங்கள் எனக்குப் பொருளைக் கொண்டு உதவி செய்(ய நினைக்)கிறீர்களா? அல்லாஹ் எனக்குக் கொடுத்திருப்பது, உங்களுக்கு அவன் கொடுத்திருப்பதை விட மேலானதாகும்; எனினும், உங்கள் அன்பளிப்பைக் கொண்டு நீங்கள் தான் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறீர்கள்!

அவர்கள் ஸுலைமானிடம் வரவே, “நீங்கள் பொருளைக் கொண்டு எனக்கு உதவி செய்கின்றீர்களா? அல்லாஹ் எனக்குக் கொடுத்திருப்பவைகள் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்திருப்பவைகளை விட மிகச் சிறந்ததாகும், மாறாக உங்களுடைய அன்பளிப்பைக் கொண்டு நீங்களே சந்தோஷமடைவீர்கள்” என்று கூறினார்.

When the envoy came to Solomon, he said, “Do you seek to appease me with wealth? What Allah has given me is far better than what He has given you. Rather, it is you who take pleasure in gifts.

IrjiAA ilayhim falanatiyannahum bijunoodin la qibala lahum biha walanukhrijannahum minha athillatan wahum saghiroona

[Then Sulaimân (Solomon) said to the chief of her messengers who brought the present]: "Go back to them. We verily, shall come to them with hosts that they cannot resist, and we shall drive them out from there in disgrace, and they will be abased."

Return to them, for we will surely come to them with soldiers that they will be powerless to encounter, and we will surely expel them therefrom in humiliation, and they will be debased."

நீங்கள் அவர்களிடம் திரும்பச் செல்லுங்கள். எவராலும் எதிர்க்க முடியாததொரு ராணுவத்துடன் நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் அவர்களிடம் வருவோம். அவர்களை சிறுமைப்பட்டவர்களாக அவ்வூரிலிருந்து துரத்தி விடுவோம்" என்று (கூறி அனுப்பிவிட்டு,)

“அவர்களிடமே திரும்பிச் செல்க; நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்களால் எதிர்க்க முடியாத (பலமுள்ள) ஒரு பெரும் படையைக் கொண்டு அவர்களிடம் வருவோம்; நாம் அவர்களைச் சிறுமைப் படுத்தி, அவ்வூரிலிருந்து வெளியேற்றிவிடுவோம், மேலும் அவர்கள் இழிந்தவர்களாவார்கள்” (என்று ஸுலைமான் கூறினார்).

“நீர் அவர்களிடம் திரும்பிச் செல்வீராக! நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் படைகளுடன் அவர்களிடம் வருவோம், அவர்களுக்கு அதை எதிர்க்க பலம் இல்லை, இன்னும், அவர்கள் சிறுமையடைந்தவர்களாக இருக்கும் நிலையில் கேவலமானவர்களாக அ(வர்களின் நகரத்)திலிருந்து அவர்களை நிச்சயமாக வெளியேற்றிவிடுவோம்” (என்றும் கூறினார்)

Go back to them; we will surely come to them with forces that they cannot resist, and we will surely drive them out therefrom in disgrace, fully humbled.”

Qala ya ayyuha almalao ayyukum yateenee biAAarshiha qabla an yatoonee muslimeena

He said: "O chiefs! Which of you can bring me her throne before they come to me surrendering themselves in obedience?"

[Solomon] said, "O assembly [of jinn], which of you will bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?"

(ஸுலைமான் தன் மந்திரிகளை நோக்கி) "சன்றோர்களே! அவர்கள் கட்டுப்பட்டவர்களாக என்னிடம் வந்து சேருவதற்கு முன்னதாகவே அவளுடைய சிம்மாசனத்தை என்னிடம் கொண்டு வருபவர் உங்களில் யார்?" என்று கேட்டார்.

“பிரமுகர்களே! அவர்கள் என்னிடம் வழிபட்டவர்களாக வருமுன், உங்களில் யார் அவளுடைய அரியாசனத்தை என்னிடம் கொண்டுவருபவர்?” என்று (ஸுலைமான் அவர்களிடம்) கேட்டார்.

“பிரதானிகளே! அவர்கள் முஸ்லிம்களாக என்னிடம் வந்து சேர்வதற்கு முன்னதாகவே உங்களில் யார் அவருடைய சிம்மாசனத்தை என்னிடம் கொண்டு வருபவர்” என்று (ஸுலைமானாகிய) அவர் கேட்டார்.

He said, “O chiefs, which one of you can bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?”

Qala AAifreetun mina aljinni ana ateeka bihi qabla an taqooma min maqamika wainne AAalayhi laqawiyyun ameenun

An 'Ifrît (strong one) from the jinn said: "I will bring it to you before you rise from your place (council). And verily, I am indeed strong and trustworthy for such work."

A powerful one from among the jinn said, "I will bring it to you before you rise from your place, and indeed, I am for this [task] strong and trustworthy."

அதற்கு ஜின்களிலுள்ள "இஃப்ரீத்" (என்னும் ஒரு வீரன்) "நீங்கள் இந்தச் சபையை முடித்துக்கொண்டு எழுந்திருப்பதற்கு முன்னதாகவே அதனை நான் கொண்டு வந்துவிடுவேன். நிச்சயமாக நான் இவ்வாறு செய்ய மிக்க சக்தியும் நம்பிக்கையும் உடையவன்" என்று கூறினான்.

ஜின்களில் (பலம் பொருந்திய ஓர்) இஃப்ரீத் கூறிற்று; நீங்கள் உங்கள் இடத்திலிருந்து எழுந்திருப்பதற்கு முன் அதை நான் உங்களிடம் கொண்டு வந்து விடுவேன்; நிச்சயமாக நான் அதற்கு சக்தியுள்ளவனாகவும், நம்பிக்கைக்கு உரியவனாகவும் இருக்கிறேன்.”

அதற்கு ஜின்களிலுள்ள இஃப்ரீத் (-என்ற மிகப்பலம் பெற்ற ஜின்) “நீங்கள் உங்கள் இடத்திலிருந்து எழுந்திருப்பதற்கு முன் அதனை நான் உங்களிடம் கொண்டு வந்துவிடுவேன், நிச்சயமாக நான் இதற்கு மிக்க சக்தியுடையவன், மிக்க நம்பிக்கையும் உடையவன்” என்று கூறியது.

A powerful jinn said, “I will bring it to you before you rise up from your council, and I am strong enough and trustworthy.”

Qala allathee AAindahu AAilmun mina alkitabi ana ateeka bihi qabla an yartadda ilayka tarfuka falamma raahu mustaqirran AAindahu qala hatha min fadli rabbee liyabluwanee aashkuru am akfuru waman shakara fainnama yashkuru linafsihi waman kafara fainna rabbee ghaniyyun kareemun

One with whom was knowledge of the Scripture said: "I will bring it to you within the twinkling of an eye!" Then when he [Sulaimân (Solomon)] saw it placed before him, he said: "This is by the Grace of my Lord – to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful! And whoever is grateful, truly, his gratitude is for (the good of) his own self; and whoever is ungrateful, (he is ungrateful only for the loss of his own self). Certainly my Lord is Rich (Free of all needs), Bountiful."

Said one who had knowledge from the Scripture, "I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you." And when [Solomon] saw it placed before him, he said, "This is from the favor of my Lord to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful. And whoever is grateful - his gratitude is only for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever is ungrateful - then indeed, my Lord is Free of need and Generous."

(எனினும், அவர்களில்) வேத ஞானம் பெற்ற ஒருவர் (இருந்தார். அவர் ஸுலைமான் நபியை நோக்கி) "நீங்கள் கண்மூடித் திறப்பதற்குள் அதனை நான் உங்களிடம் கொண்டு வந்துவிடுவேன்" என்று கூறினார். (அவ்வாறே கொண்டு வந்து சேர்த்தார்.) அது தன் முன் (கொண்டு வந்து வைக்கப்பட்டு) இருப்பதை (ஸுலைமான்) கண்டதும், "இது நான் அவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துகின்றேனா இல்லையா என்று என்னைச் சோதிப்பதற்காக என் இறைவன் எனக்குப் புரிந்த பேரருளாகும். எவன் (இறைவனுக்கு) நன்றி செலுத்துகிறானோ அவன் தனக்கே நன்மை செய்து கொள்கிறான். எவன் நன்றியை நிராகரிக்கின்றானோ (அதனால் என் இறைவனுக்கு யாதொரு நஷ்டமுமில்லை.) நிச்சயமாக என் இறைவன் (எவருடைய) தேவையற்றவனும், மிக்க கண்ணியமானவனாகவும் இருக்கிறான்" என்று கூறி (தன் வேலைக்காரர்களை நோக்கி,)

இறைவேதத்தின் ஞானத்தைப் பெற்றிருந்த ஒருவர்: “உங்களுடைய கண்ணை மூடித்திறப்பதற்குள், அதை உங்களிடம் கொண்டு வந்து விடுகிறேன்” என்று கூறினார்; (அவர் சொன்னவாறே) அது தம்மிடம் வைக்கப்பட்டிருப்பதைக் கண்டதும்: “இது என்னுடைய இறைவனின் அருட் கொடையாகும் நான் நன்றியறிதலுடன் இருக்கின்றேனா, அல்லது மாறு செய்கிறேனா என்று (இறைவன்) என்னைச் சோதிப்பதற்காகவும்; எவன் ஒருவன் (இறைவனுக்கு) நன்றி செலுத்துகின்றானோ அவன் நன்றி செலுத்துவது அவனுக்கே (நன்மை)யாவும்; மேலும், எவன் (நன்றி மறந்து) மாறு செய்கிறானோ (அது அவனுக்கே இழப்பாகும்; ஏனெனில்) என் இறைவன், (எவரிடத்தும்) தேவைப் படாதவனாகவும், மிகவும் கண்ணியம் மிக்கவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்” என்று (ஸுலைமான்) கூறினார்.

(எனினும்,) வேதத்திலிருந்து அறிவைத் தன்னிடம் கொண்டிருந்தவரான ஒருவர் “உம்முடைய பார்வை உம் பக்கம் திரும்புமுன் (கண் இமைப்பதற்குள்) அதனை நான் உம்மிடம் கொண்டு வந்துவிடுவேன்” என்று கூறினார், (அவ்வாறே கொண்டுவரப்பட்டு), அது தம் முன் நிலைபெற்றிருப்பதை (ஸுலைமானாகிய) அவர் கண்டபோது, “இது என் இரட்சகனின் பேரருளில் உள்ளதாகும், நான் அவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துகின்றேனா, அல்லது நன்றி கெட்டவனாக இருக்கிறேனா? என்று என்னைச் சோதிப்பதற்காக (இவ்வாறு வழங்கியுள்ளான்.) மேலும், எவர் (அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) நன்றி செலுத்துகிறாரோ அவர் நன்றி செலுத்துவதெல்லாம் (அதன் பலன்) அவருக்கே. இன்னும், எவர் (நன்றி செய்யாது) நிராகரிக்கிறாரோ (அது அவருக்கே கேடாகும், காரணம்) நிச்சயமாக என் இரட்சகன் (எவரிடமிருந்தும்) தேவையற்றவன், கண்ணியமுள்ளவன்” என்று கூறினார்.

But the one who had some knowledge of the scripture said, “I will bring it to you in the blink of your eye.” When he saw it placed before him, he said, “This is a favor of my Lord, to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful. Whoever is grateful, it is only for his own good; and whoever is ungrateful, then my Lord is Self-Sufficient, Most Generous.”

Qala nakkiroo laha AAarshaha nanthur atahtadee am takoonu mina allatheena la yahtadoona

He said: "Disguise her throne for her that we may see whether she will be guided (to recognise her throne), or she will be one of those not guided."

He said, "Disguise for her her throne; we will see whether she will be guided [to truth] or will be of those who is not guided."

"அவளுடைய சிம்மாசனத்தை மாற்றி (அமைத்து) விடுங்கள். அவள் அதனை(த் தன்னுடையதுதான் என்று) அறிந்து கொள்கிறாளா அல்லது அறிந்துகொள்ள முடியாதவளாகி விடுகின்றாளா?" என்று பார்ப்போமென்று கூறினார்.

(இன்னும் அவர்) கூறினார்: “(அவள் கண்டு அறிந்து கொள்ள முடியாதபடி) அவளுடைய அரியாசன(த்தின் கோல)த்தை மாற்றி விடுங்கள்; அவள் அதை அறிந்து கொள்கிறாளா, அல்லது அறிந்து கொள்ள முடியாதவர்களில் ஒருத்தியாக இருக்கிறாளா என்பதை நாம் கவனிப்போம்.”

“அவளுடைய சிம்மாசனத்தை (அதன் அமைப்பை) மாற்றி விடுங்கள், அவள் (அதனை பற்றி) அறிந்து கொள்கிறாளா? அல்லது அறிந்துகொள்ள முடியாதவர்களில் (ஒருத்தியாக) இருக்கிறாளா? என்று பார்ப்போம்” என்று (ஸுலைமானாகிய) அவர் கூறினார்.

He said, “Disguise her throne for her, so we may see whether she can discover the truth, or she will be of those who cannot recognize.”

Falamma jaat qeela ahakatha AAarshuki qalat kaannahu huwa waooteena alAAilma min qabliha wakunna muslimeena

So when she came, it was said (to her): "Is your throne like this?" She said: "(It is) as though it were the very same." And [Sulaimân (Solomon) said]: "Knowledge was bestowed on us before her, and we were submitted to Allâh (in Islâm as Muslims before her)."

So when she arrived, it was said [to her], "Is your throne like this?" She said, "[It is] as though it was it." [Solomon said], "And we were given knowledge before her, and we have been Muslims [in submission to Allah].

அவள் வந்து சேரவே (ஸுலைமான் அவளை நோக்கி) "உன்னுடைய சிம்மாசனம் இவ்வாறு தானா (இருக்கும்)?" என்று கேட்டதற்கு அவள் "இது முற்றிலும் அதைப் போலவே இருக்கின்றது. இதற்கு முன்னதாகவே (உங்கள் மேன்மையைப் பற்றிய) விஷயம் எங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டு விட்டது. நாங்கள் முற்றிலும் கட்டுப்பட்டே வந்திருக்கிறோம்" என்றாள்.

ஆகவே, அவள் வந்த பொழுது, “உன்னுடைய அரியாசனம் இது போன்றதா?” என்று கேட்கப்பட்டது. அதற்கு அவள்: “நிச்சயமாக இது அதைப் போலவே இருக்கிறது” என்று கூறினாள்; இந்தப் பெண்மணிக்கு முன்பே நாங்கள் ஞானம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டு விட்டோம், நாங்கள் முஸ்லிம்களாகவும் இருக்கிறோம் (என்று ஸுலைமான் கூறினார்).

அவள் வந்த பொழுது (அவளிடம்,) “உன்னுடைய சிம்மாசனம் இவ்வாறுதானா?” என்று கேட்கப்பட்டது, அ(தற்க)வள் “நிச்சயமாக இது அதைப்போலவே இருக்கின்றது” என்று கூறினாள், இதற்கு முன்னதாகவே (உங்களைப்பற்றிய) அறிவை நாம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருந்தோம், நாங்கள் முற்றிலும் (அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) கீழ்ப்படிந்தவர்களாகவும் இருக்கிறோம்” (என்று ஸுலைமான் கூறினார்).

So when she came, she was asked, “Is your throne like this?” She said, “It looks as if it is the same. We were given knowledge beforehand, and have submitted [to Allah].”

Wasaddaha ma kanat taAAbudu min dooni Allahi innaha kanat min qawmin kafireena

And that which she used to worship besides Allâh has prevented her (from Islâm), for she was of a disbelieving people.

And that which she was worshipping other than Allah had averted her [from submission to Him]. Indeed, she was from a disbelieving people."

இதுவரையில் (நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளாது) அவளைத் தடுத்துக் கொண்டிருந்ததெல்லாம் அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி அவள் வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்த (பொய்யான) தெய்வங்கள் தாம். ஏனென்றால், அவள் அல்லாஹ்வை நிராகரிக்கும் மக்களில் உள்ளவளாக இருந்தாள்.

அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி (மற்றவர்களை) அவள் வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்ததுதான் அவளைத் தடுத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தது நிச்சயமாக அவள் காஃபிர்களின் சமூகத்திலுள்ளவளாக இருந்தாள்.

அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி அவள் (மற்றவைகளை) வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தது அவளை (விசுவாசங்கொள்வதிலிருந்து) தடுத்துவிட்டது, (ஏனென்றால்,) நிச்சயமாக அவள் (அல்லாஹ்வை) நிராகரிப்பவர்களின் சமூகத்தாரில் உள்ளவளாக இருந்தாள்.

But she was hindered [from the faith] because she used to worship other than Allah, for she came from a disbelieving people.

Qeela laha odkhulee alssarha falamma raathu hasibathu lujjatan wakashafat AAan saqayha qala innahu sarhun mumarradun min qawareera qalat rabbi innee thalamtu nafsee waaslamtu maAAa sulaymana lillahi rabbi alAAalameena

It was said to her: "Enter As-Sarh" (a glass surface with water underneath it or a palace): but when she saw it, she thought it was a pool, and she (tucked up her clothes) uncovering her legs. Sulaimân (Solomon) said: "Verily, it is a Sarh (a glass surface with water underneath it or a palace)." She said: "My Lord! Verily, I have wronged myself, and I submit [in Islâm, together with Sulaimân (Solomon)] to Allâh, the Lord of the 'آlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists)."

She was told, "Enter the palace." But when she saw it, she thought it was a body of water and uncovered her shins [to wade through]. He said, "Indeed, it is a palace [whose floor is] made smooth with glass." She said, "My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, and I submit with Solomon to Allah, Lord of the worlds."

பின்னர் "இம்மாளிகையில் நுழை" என்று அவளுக்குக் கூறப்பட்டது. அவள் அதனைக் கண்டு (அதன் தரையில் பதிக்கப்பட்டிருந்த பளிங்கு கற்களை) தண்ணீர் என்று எண்ணி ஆடையை (நனைந்து போகாதிருக்க) இரு கெண்டைக்கால்களில் இருந்து உயர்த்தினாள். அதற்கு (ஸுலைமான் "அது தண்ணீரல்ல) பளிங்கு கற்கள் பதிக்கப்பட்ட மாளிகை தான்" என்று கூறினார். அதற்கவள் "என் இறைவனே! நிச்சயமாக நானே எனக்குத் தீங்கிழைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தேன். உலகத்தாரின் இறைவனாகிய அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு ஸுலைமானுடன் நானும் முற்றிலும் கட்டுப் படுகின்றேன்" என்று கூறினாள்.

அவளிடம்: “இந்த மாளிகையில் பிரவேசிப்பீராக!” என்று சொல்லப்பட்டது; அப்போது அவள் (அம் மாளிகையின் தரையைப் பார்த்து) அதைத் தண்ணீர்த் தடாகம் என்று எண்ணிவிட்டாள்; எனவே (தன் ஆடை நனைந்து போகாமலிருக்க அதைத்) தன் இரு கெண்டைக் கால்களுக்கும் மேல் உயர்த்தினாள்; (இதைக் கண்ணுற்ற ஸுலைமான்), “அது நிச்சயமாகப் பளிங்குகளால் பளபளப்பாகக் கட்டப்பட்ட மாளிகைதான்!” என்று கூறினார். (அதற்கு அவள்) “இறைவனே! நிச்சயமாக, எனக்கு நானே அநியாயம் செய்து கொண்டேன்; அகிலங்களுக்கெல்லாம் இறைவனான அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு, ஸுலைமானுடன் நானும் முற்றிலும் வழிபட்டு) முஸ்லிமாகிறேன்” எனக் கூறினாள்.  

(பின்னர்) அவளிடம், “இம்மாளிகையில் பிரவேசிப்பாயாக!” எனக் கூறப்பட்டது, அவள் அதைப்பார்த்தபோது தண்ணீர் தடாகம் என்றெண்ணிவிட்டாள், (நனைந்து போகாதிருக்க தன் ஆடையை) தனது, இரு கெண்டைக்கால்களுக்கு மேல் உயர்த்தினாள், (இதைக் கண்ட ஸுலைமான், “அது, தண்ணீரல்ல! நிச்சயமாக இது பளிங்குகளால் பளபளப்பாக்கப்பட்ட மாளிகை” என்று கூறினார். அ(தற்க)வள், அகிலத்தாரின் இரட்சகனாகிய அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு ஸுலைமானுடன் நானும் முற்றிலும் கீழ்ப்படிந்து (இஸ்லாமாகி) விட்டேன்” என்று கூறினாள்.

It was said to her, “Enter the palace.” But when she saw it, she thought it was a body of water, so she uncovered her calves. He said, “This is a palace paved with crystal.” She said, “My Lord, I have wronged myself, and now I submit along with Solomon to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.”

Walaqad arsalna ila thamooda akhahum salihan ani oAAbudoo Allaha faitha hum fareeqani yakhtasimoona

And indeed We sent to Thamûd their brother Sâlih (Saleh), saying: "Worship Allâh (Alone and none else). Then look! They became two parties (believers and disbelievers) quarrelling with each other."

And We had certainly sent to Thamud their brother Salih, [saying], "Worship Allah," and at once they were two parties conflicting.

நிச்சயமாக நாம் ஸமூது என்னும் மக்களிடம் அவர்களுடைய சகோதரர் ஸாலிஹை அனுப்பி வைத்தோம். அவர், (அவர்களை நோக்கி) "நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ் ஒருவனை வணங்குங்கள்" என்று கூறினார். அச்சமயம் அவர்கள் இரு பிரிவினர்களாகி(த் தங்களுக்குள்) தர்க்கம் செய்துகொண்டார்கள்.

தவிர, நாம் நிச்சயமாக ஸமூது சமூகத்தாரிடம், அவர்களுடைய சகோதரர் ஸாலிஹை: “நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வையே வணங்குங்கள்” (என்று போதிக்குமாறு) அனுப்பினோம்; ஆனால் அவர்கள் இரு பிரிவினராகப் பிரிந்து தம்மிடையே சச்சரவு செய்து கொள்ளலானார்கள்.

மேலும், நிச்சயமாக நாம் ஸமூது (கூட்டத்தார்)பால் அவர்களுடைய சகோதரர் ஸாலிஹை அனுப்பிவைத்தோம், அவர், (அவர்களிடம்) “நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வை வணங்குங்கள்” (என்று கூறினார்) அது சமயம் அவர்கள் இரு பிரிவினராகப் பிரிந்து (தங்களுக்குள்) தர்க்கம் செய்து கொள்ளலாயினர்.

We sent to the people of Thamūd their brother Sālih [saying], “Worship Allah,” then they suddenly split into two quarreling factions.

Qala ya qawmi lima tastaAAjiloona bialssayyiati qabla alhasanati lawla tastaghfiroona Allaha laAAallakum turhamoona

He said: "O my people! Why do you seek to hasten the evil (torment) before the good (Allâh's Mercy)? Why seek you not the forgiveness of Allâh, that you may receive mercy?"

He said, "O my people, why are you impatient for evil instead of good? Why do you not seek forgiveness of Allah that you may receive mercy?"

(அதற்கு ஸாலிஹ்) "என்னுடைய மக்களே! நீங்கள் ஏன் அவசரப்பட்டு நன்மைக்கு முன்னதாகவே தண்டனையைத் தேடிக் கொள்கிறீர்கள்? அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில் நீங்கள் மன்னிப்புக் கோர வேண்டாமா? நீங்கள் கிருபை செய்யப்படுவீர்களே!" என்று கூறினார்.

(அப்போது அவர்:) “என்னுடைய சமூகத்தாரே! நன்மைக்கு முன்னால், தீமைக்காக நீங்கள் ஏன் அவசரப்படுகிறீர்கள், நீங்கள் கிருபை செய்யப்படும் பொருட்டு அல்லாஹ்விடம் தவ்பா (செய்து மன்னிப்புக்) கேட்கமாட்டீர்களா?” எனக் கூறினார்.

“என்னுடைய சமூகத்தாரே! நன்மைக்கு முன்னதாகத் தீமையைக் கொண்டு நீங்கள் ஏன் அவசரப்படுகிறீர்கள்? நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்விடம் மன்னிப்புக் கோர வேண்டாமா? (அதன் மூலம்) நீங்கள் கிருபை செய்யப்பபடுவீர்கள்” என்று (ஸாலிஹாகிய) அவர் கூறினார்.

He said, “O my people, why do you seek to hasten punishment rather than good? If only you sought Allah’s forgiveness, so that you may be shown mercy!”

Qaloo ittayyarna bika wabiman maAAaka qala tairukum AAinda Allahi bal antum qawmun tuftanoona

They said: "We augur ill omen from you and those with you." He said: "Your ill omen is with Allâh; nay, but you are a people that are being tested."

They said, "We consider you a bad omen, you and those with you." He said, "Your omen is with Allah. Rather, you are a people being tested."

அதற்கவர்கள் "உங்களையும் உங்களுடன் இருப்பவர் களையும் நாங்கள் அபசகுணமாக எண்ணுகிறோம்" என்று கூறினார்கள். அதற்கவர் "அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்துதான் உங்கள் துர்ச்சகுனம் வந்தது. நீங்கள் (அதிசீக்கிரத்தில் அல்லாஹ்வினுடைய) சோதனைக்குள்ளாக வேண்டிய மக்கள்" என்று கூறினார்.

அதற்கவர்கள்: “உம்மையும், உம்முடன் இருப்பவர்களையும் நாங்கள் துர்ச்சகுணமாகக் காண்கிறோம்” என்று சொன்னார்கள்; அவர் கூறினார்: “உங்கள் துர்ச்சகுணம் அல்லாஹ்விடம் இருக்கிறது; எனினும், நீஙகள் சோதனைக்குள்ளாக்கப்படும் சமூகத்தாராக இருக்கிறீர்கள்.”

அ(தற்க)வர்கள், “உம்மையும், உம்முடன் இருப்பவர்களையும் நாங்கள் துர்ச்சகுனமாகக் கருதுகிறோம்” என்று கூறினார்கள், அதற்கவர், “உங்கள் துர்ச்சகுனம் (அதன் காரணம்) அல்லாஹ்விடம் இருக்கிறது, மாறாக, நீங்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வினால்) சோதனைக்குள்ளாக்கப்படும் சமூகத்தாராக இருக்கின்றீர்கள்” என்று கூறினார்.

They said, “We consider you and those who are with you as a bad omen.” He said, “Your omen is from Allah, but you are a people who are being tested.”

Wakana fee almadeenati tisAAatu rahtin yufsidoona fee alardi wala yuslihoona

And there were in the city nine men (from the sons of their chiefs), who made mischief in the land, and would not reform.

And there were in the city nine family heads causing corruption in the land and not amending [its affairs].

அவ்வூரில் (விஷமிகளுக்குத் தலைவர்களாக) ஒன்பது மனிதர்கள் இருந்தார்கள். அவர்கள் நன்மை செய்யாது அவ்வூரிலும் (மற்ற சுற்றுப்புறங்களிலும்) விஷமம் செய்துகொண்டே திரிந்தார்கள்.

இன்னும், அந்நகரில் ஒன்பது மனிதர்கள் இருந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் நன்மை எதுவும் செய்யாது பூமியில் குழப்பம் செய்து கொண்டு திரிகிறார்கள்.

(ஸாலிஹ் நபி வாழ்ந்து வந்த) அந்நகரில், ஒன்பது மனிதர்கள் இருந்தார்கள், அவர்கள் பூமியில் குழப்பம் செய்பவர்களாக, மற்றும் சீர்திருத்தம் செய்யாதவர்களாக இருந்தனர்.

There were nine men in the city who used to spread corruption in the land without doing anything good.

Qaloo taqasamoo biAllahi lanubayyitannahu waahlahu thumma lanaqoolanna liwaliyyihi ma shahidna mahlika ahlihi wainna lasadiqoona

They said: "Swear one to another by Allâh that we shall make a secret night attack on him and his household, and thereafter we will surely say to his near relatives: 'We witnessed not the destruction of his household, and verily, we are telling the truth."'

They said, "Take a mutual oath by Allah that we will kill him by night, he and his family. Then we will say to his executor, 'We did not witness the destruction of his family, and indeed, we are truthful.' "

அவர்கள் ஸாலிஹையும் அவருடைய குடும்பத்தையும் நாம் இரவோடு இரவாக அழித்து விடுவோம். (இதனை ஒருவரிடமும் கூறுவதில்லை என்று) நாம் நமக்குள்ளாக அல்லாஹ் மீது சத்தியம் செய்துகொண்டு அவருடைய சொந்தக்காரர்களிடம், "அவர் வெட்டுப்பட்ட இடத்திற்கு நாங்கள் வரவேயில்லை. நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் உண்மையே சொல்லுகிறோம்" என்று நாம் கூறிவிடலாம் என்று கூறிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

அவர்கள்: “நாம் அவரையும் (ஸாலிஹையும்), அவருடைய குடும்பத்தாரையும் இரவோடிரவாக திட்டமாக அழித்து விடுவோம்; (இதனை யாரிடமும் சொல்வதில்லை) என்று நாம் அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது சத்தியம் செய்து கொள்வோமாக!” பிறகு அவருடைய வாரிஸ்தாரிடம் (அவர்கள் பழிக்குப்பழி வாங்க வந்தால்) “உங்கள் குடும்பத்தார் அழிக்கப்பட்டதை நாங்கள் காணவேயில்லை; நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் உண்மையாளர்கள்” என்று திட்டமாகக் கூறிவிடலாம் (எனச் சதி செய்தார்கள்).

(குழப்பக்காரர்களான அவர்கள்) நிச்சயமாக (ஸாலிஹ் நபியாகிய) அவரையும், அவருடைய குடும்பத்தினரையும் நாம் இரவோடு இரவாக அழித்துவிடுவோம் என்று நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வைக் கொண்டு சத்தியம் செய்து கொள்ளுங்கள், பின்னர் அவர் குடும்பத்தினர் அழிக்கப்பட்ட இடத்திற்கு நாங்கள் வரவேயில்லை, நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் உண்மையே சொல்கிறோம் என்று அவருடைய பாதுகாப்பாளரிடம் திட்டமாகக் கூறிக்கொள்வோம்” என்று (இவர்களுக்குள்) கூறினார்கள்.

They said, “Let us all swear by Allah that we will kill him and his family by night. Then we will tell his heir, ‘We did not witness the murder of his family, and we are indeed truthful.’”

Wamakaroo makran wamakarna makran wahum la yashAAuroona

So, they plotted a plot, and We planned a plan, while they perceived not.

And they planned a plan, and We planned a plan, while they perceived not.

(இவ்வாறு) அவர்கள் ஒரு சூழ்ச்சி செய்தார்கள். நாமும் ஒரு சூழ்ச்சி செய்தோம். அவர்கள் அதனை உணர்ந்துகொள்ள முடியவில்லை.

(இவ்வாறு) அவர்கள் சூழ்ச்சி செய்தார்கள்; ஆனால் அவர்கள் அறியாதவாறு நாமும் சூழ்ச்சி செய்தோம்.

இன்னும், (இதுபோன்றே) அவர்கள் ஒரு சூழ்ச்சி செய்தார்கள், நாமும் நம் தண்டனையைக் கொண்டு அவர்களின் சூழ்ச்சியை முறியடிக்க சூழ்ச்சி செய்தோம், அவர்களோ (அதனை) உணர்ந்து கொள்ளவில்லை.

Thus they made a plan and We too made a plan, but they were unaware of it.

Faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu makrihim anna dammarnahum waqawmahum ajmaAAeena

Then see how was the end of their plot! Verily, We destroyed them and their nation all together.

Then look how was the outcome of their plan - that We destroyed them and their people, all.

ஆகவே, அவர்களுடைய சூழ்ச்சியின் முடிவு எவ்வாறு ஆயிற்று என்பதை (நபியே!) நீங்கள் கவனித்துப் பாருங்கள். நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்களையும் அவர்களுடைய மக்கள் அனைவரையும் அழித்துவிட்டோம்.

ஆகவே, அவர்களுடைய சூழ்ச்சியின் முடிவு என்ன ஆயிற்று என்பதை (நபியே!) நீர் கவனிப்பீராக! (முடிவு) அவர்களையும், அவர்களுடைய சமூகத்தார் எல்லோரையும் நாம் அழித்தோம்.

ஆகவே, அவர்களுடைய சூழ்ச்சியின் முடிவு எப்படி இருந்தது என்பதை (நபியே!) நீர் கவனிப்பீராக! நிச்சயமாக அவர்களையும், அவர்களுடைய சமூகத்தார் அனைவரையும் அடியோடு நாம் அழித்துவிட்டோம்.

See then what was the consequences of their plan: We destroyed them and their entire people.

Fatilka buyootuhum khawiyatan bima thalamoo inna fee thalika laayatan liqawmin yaAAlamoona

These are their houses in utter ruin, for they did wrong. Verily, in this is indeed an Ayâh (a lesson or a sign) for a people who know.

So those are their houses, desolate because of the wrong they had done. Indeed in that is a sign for people who know.

அவர்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்த அநியாயங்களின் காரணமாக (அழிந்து போன) அவர்களுடைய வீடுகள் இதோ பாழடைந்து கிடக்கின்றன. அறியக்கூடிய மக்களுக்கு நிச்சயமாக இதில் ஒரு (நல்ல) படிப்பினை இருக்கின்றது.

ஆகவே, அவர்கள் அநியாயம் செய்து வந்த காரணத்தால் (அதோ அழிந்து போன) அவர்களுடைய வீடுகள் அதோ பாழடைந்து கிடக்கின்றன; நிச்சயமாக இதிலே, அறியக் கூடிய சமூகத்தாருக்கு அத்தாட்சி இருக்கிறது.

ஆகவே, அவர்கள் செய்துகொண்டிருந்த அநியாயங்களின் காரணமாக அவர்களுடைய அந்த வீடுகள் குடியிருப்பற்றுக் கிடக்கின்றன, அறியக்கூடிய சமூகத்தார்க்கு நிச்சயமாக இதில் ஒரு படிப்பினை இருக்கின்றது.

Now their houses are utterly ruined because of their wrongdoing. Indeed, there are signs in this for people of knowledge.

Waanjayna allatheena amanoo wakanoo yattaqoona

And We saved those who believed, and used to fear Allâh, and keep their duty to Him.

And We saved those who believed and used to fear Allah.

அவர்களில் எவர்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு (அல்லாஹ்வுக்குப்) பயந்து கொண்டிருந்தார்களோ, அவர்களை நாம் பாதுகாத்துக் கொண்டோம்.

மேலும், ஈமான் கொண்டு, (அல்லாஹ்விடம்) பயபக்தியுடையவர்களாக இருந்தவர்களை நாம் காப்பாற்றினோம்.

விசுவாசங்கொண்டு (அல்லாஹ்வுக்குப்) பயந்தும் கொண்டிருந்தார்களே அத்தகையவர்களை நாமே காப்பாற்றினோம்.

And We saved those who believed and feared Allah.

Walootan ith qala liqawmihi atatoona alfahishata waantum tubsiroona

And (remember) Lût (Lot)! When he said to his people. Do you commit Al-Fâhishah (evil, great sin, every kind of unlawful sexual intercourse, sodomy) while you see (one another doing evil without any screen)?"

And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, "Do you commit immorality while you are seeing?

லூத்தையும் (நாம் நம்முடைய தூதராக அனுப்பி வைத்தோம்) அவர் தன் மக்களை நோக்கி (மறைவு திரைவின்றி) "மக்கள் முன்பாகவே நீங்கள் மானக்கேடான காரியங்களைச் செய்கின்றீர்கள்.

லூத்தையும் (நினைவு கூர்வீராக!) அவர் தம் சமூகத்தாரிடம்; “நீங்கள் பார்த்துக் கொண்டே மானக்கேடான செயலைச் செய்கின்றீர்களா?” என்று கூறினார்.

லூத்தையும் - (நாம் நம்முடைய தூதராக அனுப்பி வைத்ததை நினைவு கூர்வீராக!) அவர் தன் ஜனங்களிடம், “நீங்கள் (உங்களில் சிலர் சிலரைப்) பார்த்தவர்களாக இருக்க, மானக்கேடான செயலைச் செய்கின்றீர்களா,” என்று அவர் கூறியபோது-

And [remember] Lot, when he said to his people, “Do you commit this shameful act while seeing [one another]?

Ainnakum latatoona alrrijala shahwatan min dooni alnnisai bal antum qawmun tajhaloona

"Do you practise your lusts on men instead of women? Nay, but you are a people who behave senselessly."

Do you indeed approach men with desire instead of women? Rather, you are a people behaving ignorantly."

நீங்கள் பெண்களைவிட்டு ஆண்களிடம் மோகங்கொண்டு வருகின்றீர்களே! நீங்கள் முற்றிலும் அறிவீனமான மக்களாக இருக்கிறீர்கள்" என்று கூறினார்.

“நீங்கள் பெண்களை விட்டு விட்டு, மோகங் கொண்டவர்களாக ஆண்களை நெருங்குகிறீர்களா? நீங்கள் முற்றிலும் அறிவில்லாத மக்களாக இருக்கிறீர்கள்” (என்றும் கூறினார்).

“நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் பெண்களை தவிர்த்து(விட்டு) ஆண்களிடம் மோகங்கொண்டு வருகின்றீர்களா? மாறாக நீங்கள் முற்றிலும் அறிவில்லாதக் கூட்டத்தினராக இருக்கிறீர்கள்” (என்று கூறினார்.)

Do you approach men with lust instead of women? In fact, you are an ignorant people!”

Fama kana jawaba qawmihi illa an qaloo akhrijoo ala lootin min qaryatikum innahum onasun yatatahharoona

There was no other answer given by his people except that they said: "Drive out the family of Lût (Lot) from your city. Verily, these are men who want to be clean and pure!"

But the answer of his people was not except that they said, "Expel the family of Lot from your city. Indeed, they are people who keep themselves pure."

அதற்கவர்கள் (தங்கள் மக்களை நோக்கி) "லூத்துடைய குடும்பத்தை உங்கள் ஊரை விட்டும் நீங்கள் ஓட்டிவிடுங்கள். நிச்சயமாக அவர் மிகப் பரிசுத்தமான மனிதர்கள் (போல் பேசுகின்றனர்)" என்று (பரிகாசமாகக்) கூறினார்கள்.

அதற்கவருடைய சமுதாயத்தவர் (தம் இனத்தாரிடம்) “லூத்துடைய குடும்பத்தாரை உங்கள் ஊரைவிட்டு நீங்கள் வெளியேற்றி விடுங்கள். நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் மிகவும் பரிசுத்தமான மனிதர்களே!” என்று (பரிகாசமாகக்) கூறினார்களே தவிர வேறொரு பதிலும் அவர்களிடமில்லை.

“லூத்துடைய குடும்பத்தை உங்கள் ஊரைவிட்டு நீங்கள் வெளியேற்றிவிடுங்கள், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் மிகப் பரிசுத்தமான மனிதர்கள் என்று (பரிகாசமாக) அவர்கள் கூறியதைத்தவிர, (வேறெதுவும்) அவருடைய சமூகத்தாரின் பதிலாக இருந்ததில்லை.

But the only response his people gave was to say, “Drive the family of Lot out of your town, for they are a people who keep themselves pure!”

Faanjaynahu waahlahu illa imraatahu qaddarnaha mina alghabireena

So, We saved him and his family, except his wife. We destined her to be of those who remained behind.

So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; We destined her to be of those who remained behind.

ஆகவே, அவரையும் அவருடைய குடும்பத்தாரையும் நாம் பாதுகாத்துக் கொண்டோம். எனினும், அவருடைய மனைவியைத் தவிர. ஏனென்றால், அவள் (அந்தப் பாவிகளுடன்) தங்கிவிட வேண்டுமென்று (ஏற்கனவே) தீர்மானித்து விட்டோம்.

ஆனால், நாம் அவரையும் அவருடைய குடும்பத்தாரையும் பாதுகாத்துக் கொண்டோம்; அவருடைய மனைவியைத் தவிர (ஈமான் கொள்ளாமல்) பின்தங்கி (அழிந்து) விட்டவர்களில் ஒருத்தியாக அவளை தீர்மானித்தோம்.

ஆகவே, அவருடைய மனைவியைத் தவிர அவரையும், அவருடைய குடும்பத்தினரையும் நாம் காப்பாற்றிக்கொண்டோம்; அவளை (வேதனை செய்யப்படுபவர்களோடு) தங்கிவிடுபவர்களில் உள்ளவளாக நாம் நிர்ணயித்துவிட்டோம்.

So We saved him and his family, except his wife whom We destined to be among those who would remain behind.

Waamtarna AAalayhim mataran fasaa mataru almunthareena

And We rained down on them a rain (of stones). So, evil was the rain of those who were warned.

And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned.

ஆகவே, அவர்கள் மீது கல்மழையை நாம் பொழிந்தோம். பயமுறுத்தப்பட்ட அவர்கள் மீது (பொழியப்பட்ட) கல்மழை மகா கெட்டது.

இன்னும், நாம் அவர்கள் மீது (கல்) மழை பொழியச் செய்தோம்; எனவே, எச்சரிக்கப்பட்ட அவர்கள் மீது பெய்த அம்மழை மிகவும் கெட்டது.  

ஆகவே. அவர்கள் மீது (கல்)மாரியை நாம் பொழியச்செய்தோம், எச்சரிக்கப்பட்டவர்களின் (கல்)மாரி மிகக் கெட்டது.

And We rained upon them a rain [of stones]. How terrible was the rain of those who were warned!

Quli alhamdu lillahi wasalamun AAala AAibadihi allatheena istafa allahu khayrun amma yushrikoona

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "All praise and thanks are Allâh's, and peace be on His slaves whom He has chosen (for His Message)! Is Allâh better, or (all) that they ascribe as partners (to Him)?" (Of course, Allâh is Better).

Say, [O Muhammad], "Praise be to Allah, and peace upon His servants whom He has chosen. Is Allah better or what they associate with Him?"

ஆகவே, (நபியே!) புகழ் அனைத்தும் அல்லாஹ்வுக் குரியனவே. தன்னுடைய அடியார்களில் அவன் தேர்ந்தெடுத்துக் கொண்டவர்களின் மீது "ஈடேற்றம் உண்டாவதாக" என்றும் "அல்லாஹ் மேலானவனா அல்லது அவர்கள் அவனுக்கு இணையாக்குகின்றவைகள் மேலானவைகளா?" என்று கேளுங்கள்.

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக: “எல்லாப் புகழும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே உரியது; இன்னும் அவன் தேர்ந்தெடுத்துக் கொண்ட அவனுடைய அடியார்கள் மீது ஸலாம் உண்டாவதாக! அல்லாஹ் மேலானவனா? அல்லது அவர்கள் (அவனுக்கு) இணையாக்குபவை (மேலானவை)யா?”  

(ஆகவே நபியே!) “புகழனைத்தும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே உரியது! இன்னும், அவன் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தோரான அவனுடைய அடியார்கள் மீது சாந்தி உண்டாவதாக” என்று கூறுவீராக! அல்லாஹ் மேலானவனா, அல்லது அவர்கள் (அவனுக்கு) இணையாக்குகின்றவைகளா?

Say, “All praise is for Allah, and peace be upon His slaves whom He has chosen. Is Allah better, or those partners whom they associate with Him?”

Amman khalaqa alssamawati waalarda waanzala lakum mina alssamai maan faanbatna bihi hadaiqa thata bahjatin ma kana lakum an tunbitoo shajaraha ailahun maAAa Allahi bal hum qawmun yaAAdiloona

Is not He (better than your gods) Who created the heavens and the earth, and sends down for you water (rain) from the sky, whereby We cause to grow wonderful gardens full of beauty and delight? It is not in your ability to cause the growth of their trees. Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? Nay, but they are a people who ascribe equals (to Him)!

[More precisely], is He [not best] who created the heavens and the earth and sent down for you rain from the sky, causing to grow thereby gardens of joyful beauty which you could not [otherwise] have grown the trees thereof? Is there a deity with Allah? [No], but they are a people who ascribe equals [to Him].

அன்றி, வானங்களையும் பூமியையும் படைத்து, மேகத்தில் இருந்து உங்களுக்காக மழை பொழியச் செய்பவன் யார்? நாமே அதனைக் கொண்டு கண்ணைக் கவரும் அழகான தோட்டங் களையும் உற்பத்தி செய்கிறோம். (நம்முடைய உதவியின்றி) அதன் மரங்களை முளைப்பிக்க உங்களால் முடியாது. ஆகவே, அல்லாஹ்வுடன் வணக்கத்திற்குரிய வேறொரு இறைவன் இருக்கின்றானா? (இவ்வாறிருந்தும்) இவர்கள் (தங்கள் கற்பனை தெய்வங்களை இறைவனுக்குச்) சமமாக்குகின்றனர்.

அன்றியும், வானங்களையும் பூமியையும் படைத்து, உங்களுக்கு வானத்திலிருந்து மழையை இறக்கி வைப்பவன் யார்? பின்னர் அதைக் கொண்டு செழிப்பான தோட்டங்களை நாம் முளைக்கச் செய்கிறோம். அதன் மரங்களை முளைக்கச் செய்வது உங்களால் முடியாது. (அவ்வாறிருக்க) அல்லாஹ்வுடன் (வேறு) நாயன் இருக்கின்றானா? இல்லை! ஆயினும் அவர்கள் (தம் கற்பனை தெய்வங்களை அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) சமமாக்கும் மக்களாகவே இருக்கிறார்கள்.

(உங்களுடைய தெய்வங்கள் சிறந்தவையா?) அல்லது வானங்களையும், பூமியையும் படைத்து வானத்திலிருந்து உங்களுக்காக தண்ணீரை (மழையை)யும் இறக்கி வைத்தவ(ன் சிறந்தவ)னா? (பின்னர்) நாமே அதனைக் கொண்டு செழிப்பான தோட்டங்களை முளைக்கச் செய்கிறோம்; (நாம் மழையை இறக்காவிட்டால்) அதன் மரங்களை முளைக்கச் செய்யவே உங்களால் முடியாது; ஆகவே, அல்லாஹ்வுடன் வேறு வணக்கத்திற்குரியவன் இருக்கின்றானா? இல்லை; இவர்கள் (தங்கள் தெய்வங்களாக கற்பனை செய்தவற்றை அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) சமமாக்குகின்ற கூட்டத்தினராக இருக்கின்றனர்.

Is He [not better] Who created the heavens and earth, and sent down for you rain from the sky, by which We caused to grow gardens of cheerful beauty? You could never cause their trees to grow. Is there any god besides Allah? No, but they are people who ascribe equals [to Allah].

Amman jaAAala alarda qararan wajaAAala khilalaha anharan wajaAAala laha rawasiya wajaAAala bayna albahrayni hajizan ailahun maAAa Allahi bal aktharuhum la yaAAlamoona

Is not He (better than your gods) Who has made the earth as a fixed abode, and has placed rivers in its midst, and has placed firm mountains therein, and has set a barrier between the two seas (of salt and sweet water)? Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? Nay, but most of them know not!

Is He [not best] who made the earth a stable ground and placed within it rivers and made for it firmly set mountains and placed between the two seas a barrier? Is there a deity with Allah? [No], but most of them do not know.

பூமியை ஓர் உறுதியான தங்குமிடமாக அமைத்து, அதன் மத்தியில் ஆறுகளையும் மலைகளையும் அமைத்தவன் யார்? இரு கடல்களுக்கிடையில் தடுப்பு ஏற்படுத்தியவன் யார்? (இவைகளைச் செய்த) அல்லாஹ்வுடன் வணக்கத்திற்குரிய வேறொரு இறைவன் இருக்கின்றானா? (இல்லவே இல்லை.) அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலானவர்கள் (இதனை) அறிந்துகொள்வதில்லை.

இந்தப் பூமியை வசிக்கத் தக்க இடமாக ஆக்கியவனும், அதனிடையே ஆறுகளை உண்டாக்கியவனும்; அதற்காக (அதன் மீது அசையா) மலைகளை உண்டாக்கியவனும் இரு கடல்களுக்கிடையே தடுப்பை உண்டாக்கியவனும் யார்? அல்லாஹ்வுடன் (வேறு) நாயன் இருக்கின்றானா? இல்லை! (எனினும்) அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் அறியாதவர்களாக இருக்கின்றனர்.

(உங்களுடைய தெய்வங்கள் சிறந்தவையா?) அல்லது பூமியை உறுதியானதாக்கி அதனிடையே ஆறுகளையும் உண்டாக்கி, அதற்காக (அதன் மீது) கனமான மலைகளையும் அமைத்து, இரு கடல்களுக்கிடையில் தடுப்பையும் ஏற்படுத்தியவ(ன் சிறந்தவ)னா? (இவைகளைச் செய்த) அல்லாஹ்வுடன் வேறு வணக்கத்திற்குரியவன் இருக்கின்றனா? இல்லை! அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் இதுபற்றி அறியமாட்டார்கள்.

Is He [not better] Who made the earth a stable place to live, and caused rivers to flow through it, and placed therein firm mountains, and made a barrier between two flowing bodies of water? Is there any god besides Allah? No, but most of them do not know.

Amman yujeebu almudtarra itha daAAahu wayakshifu alssooa wayajAAalukum khulafaa alardi ailahun maAAa Allahi qaleelan ma tathakkaroona

Is not He (better than your gods) Who responds to the distressed one, when he calls on Him, and Who removes the evil, and makes you inheritors of the earth, generations after generations? Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? Little is that you remember!

Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there a deity with Allah? Little do you remember.

(கஷ்டத்தில் சிக்கித்) துடிதுடித்துக் கொண்டிருப்பவர்கள் அபயமிட்டழைத்தால் அவர்களுக்குப் பதில் கூறி, அவர்களுடைய கஷ்டங்களை நீக்குபவன் யார்? பூமியில் உங்களை(த் தன்னுடைய) பிரதிநிதிகளாக ஆக்கி வைத்தவன் யார்? (இத்தகைய) அல்லாஹ்வுடன் வணக்கத்திற்குரிய வேறொரு இறைவன் இருக்கின்றானா? (இல்லவே இல்லை.) உங்களில் நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெறுபவர்கள் வெகு சொற்பமே.

கஷ்டத்திற்குள்ளானவன் அவனை அழைத்தால் அவனுக்கு பதில் கொடுத்து, அவன் துன்பத்தை நீக்குபவனும், உங்களை இப்பூமியில் பின்தோன்றல்களாக ஆக்கியவனும் யார்? அல்லாஹ்வுடன் (வேறு) நாயன் இருக்கின்றானா? (இல்லை) எனினும் (இவையெல்லாம் பற்றி) நீங்கள் சிந்தித்துப் பார்ப்பது மிகக் குறைவே யாகும்.

(உங்களுடைய தெய்வங்கள் சிறந்தவையா?) அல்லது கடுந்துன்பதிற்குள்ளாக்கப் பட்டவனுக்கு அவனை இவன் அழைத்தல், (அவனுக்குப்) பதிலளித்து, மேலும், (அவனுடைய) அத்துன்பத்தை நீக்கி, பூமியில் உங்களை(த் தன்னுடைய) பிரதிநிதிகளாகவும் ஆக்கியவ(ன் சிறந்தவ)னா? (இத்தகைய) அல்லாஹ்வுடன், வேறு வணக்கத்திற்குரியவன் இருக்கின்றானா? (இல்லை!) நீங்கள் சிந்திப்பது மிகக் குறைவாகும்.

Is He [not better] Who responds to the distressed when he calls out to Him, and Who relieves suffering, and Who makes you successors on earth? Is there any god besides Allah? Little is it that you take heed!

Amman yahdeekum fee thulumati albarri waalbahri waman yursilu alrriyaha bushran bayna yaday rahmatihi ailahun maAAa Allahi taAAala Allahu AAamma yushrikoona

Is not He (better than your gods) Who guides you in the darkness of the land and the sea, and Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain)? Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? High Exalted is Allâh above all that they associate as partners (to Him)!

Is He [not best] who guides you through the darknesses of the land and sea and who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy? Is there a deity with Allah? High is Allah above whatever they associate with Him.

கடலிலோ அல்லது கரையிலோ இருள்களில் (சிக்கிய) உங்களுக்கு வழி காண்பிப்பவன் யார்? அவனுடைய அருள் மழைக்கு முன்னதாக (குளிர்ந்த) காற்றை நற்செய்தியாக அனுப்பி வைப்பவன் யார்? அல்லாஹ்வுடன் வணக்கத்திற்குரிய வேறொரு இறைவன் இருக்கின்றானா? (இல்லவே இல்லை.) அவர்கள் இணை வைப்பதை விட்டு அவன் மிக்க உயர்ந்தவன்.

கரையிலும் கடலிலுமுள்ள இருள்களில் உங்களை நேரான வழியில் செலுத்துபவன் யார்? மேலும், தன்னுடைய “ரஹ்மத்” என்னும் அருள் மாரிக்கு முன்னே நன்மாராயம் (கூறுவன) ஆக காற்றுகளை அனுப்பி வைப்பவன் யார்? அல்லாஹ்வுடன் (வேறு) நாயன் இருக்கின்றானா? - அவர்கள் இணை வைப்பவற்றைவிட அல்லாஹ் மிகவும் உயர்வானவன்.

(உங்களுடைய தெய்வங்கள் சிறந்தவையா?) அல்லது கரையிலும், கடலிலும் உள்ள இருள்களில் உங்களுக்கு நேர்வழி காண்பித்து. (மழையெனும்) அவனுடைய அருள் மாரிக்கு முன்னதாகக் காற்றுகளையும் நன்மாராயமாக அனுப்பி வைப்பவ(ன் சிறந்தவ)னா? (இத்தகுதிகளுடைய) அல்லாஹ்வுடன் வேறு வணக்கதிற்குரியவன் இருக்கின்றானா? (இல்லை!) அவர்கள் இணை வைப்பவைகளை விட்டும் அல்லாஹ் மிக்க உயர்ந்தவன்.

Is He [not better] Who guides you in the depths of darkness of the land and sea, and Who sends the winds as harbingers ahead of His mercy? Is there any god besides Allah? Exalted is Allah far above the partners they associate with Him!

Amman yabdao alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu waman yarzuqukum mina alssamai waalardi ailahun maAAa Allahi qul hatoo burhanakum in kuntum sadiqeena

Is not He (better than your so-called gods) Who originates creation, and shall thereafter repeat it, and Who provides for you from heaven and earth? Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? Say: "Bring forth your proofs, if you are truthful."

Is He [not best] who begins creation and then repeats it and who provides for you from the heaven and earth? Is there a deity with Allah? Say, "Produce your proof, if you should be truthful."

ஆரம்பத்தில் படைப்புகளை உற்பத்தி செய்தவன் யார்? (அவ்வாறே பின்னும்) பின்னும் உற்பத்தி செய்து கொண்டிருப்பவன் யார்? மேகத்தில் இருந்து (மழையை இறக்கிப்) பூமியில் (தானியங்களை முளைக்கச் செய்து) உங்களுக்கு உணவளிப்பவன் யார்? அல்லாஹ்வுடன் வணக்கத்திற்குரிய வேறொரு இறைவன் இருக்கின்றானா? "நீங்கள் உண்மை சொல்பவர்களாக இருந்தால் (இதற்கு) உங்களுடைய அத்தாட்சிகளைக் கொண்டு வாருங்கள்" என்று (நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்.

முதன் முதலில் படைப்பைத் துவங்குபவனும், பின்னர் அதனை மீண்டும் உண்டாக்கி வைப்பவனும் யார்? வானத்திலிருந்தும், பூமியிலிருந்தும் உங்களுக்கு ஆகாரம் அளிப்பவன் யார்? அல்லாஹ்வுடன் (வேறு) நாயன் இருக்கின்றானா? (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக: “நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால், உங்களுடைய ஆதாரங்களைக் கொண்டு வாருங்கள்.”

(உங்களுடைய தெய்வங்கள் சிறந்தவையா?) அல்லது ஆரம்பத்தில் (யாதொரு முன்மாதிரியும் இன்றியே) படைப்பைத்துவங்கி, பின்னர் அதனை மீட்டுபவனும் வானத்திலிருந்தும், பூமியிலிருந்து உங்களுக்கு உணவளிப்பவ(ன் சிறந்தவ)னா? அல்லாஹ்வுடன், வேறு வணக்கத்திற்குரியவன் இருக்கின்றானா? “நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால், (இதற்கு) உங்களுடைய அத்தாட்சியைக் கொண்டுவாருங்கள்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக!

Is He [not better] Who originates creation then repeats it, and Who gives you provision from the heaven and earth? Is there any god besides Allah? Say, “Produce your evidence if you are truthful.”

Qul la yaAAlamu man fee alssamawati waalardi alghayba illa Allahu wama yashAAuroona ayyana yubAAathoona

Say: "None in the heavens and the earth knows the Ghaib (Unseen) except Allâh, nor can they perceive when they shall be resurrected."

Say, "None in the heavens and earth knows the unseen except Allah, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected."

(மேலும்) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "வானங்களிலோ பூமியிலோ மறைந்திருப்பவைகளை அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர மற்றெவரும் அறிய மாட்டார். (மரணித்தவர்கள்) எப்பொழுது எழுப்பப்படுவார்கள் என்பதையும் இவர்கள் அறிய மாட்டார்கள்.

(இன்னும்) நீர் கூறுவீராக: “அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர்த்து, வானங்களிலும், பூமியிலும் இருப்பவர் எவரும் மறைவாயிருப்பதை அறிய மாட்டார்; இன்னும்: (மரித்தோர் இறுதியில்) எப்போது எழுப்பப்படுவார்கள் என்பதையும் அவர்கள் அறியமாட்டார்கள்.”

அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர வானங்களிலும் பூமியிலும் உள்ளவர்கள் (எவரும்) மறைந்திருப்பவைகளை அறியமாட்டார்கள், மேலும், அவர்கள் எப்பொழுது (உயிர் கொடுத்து) எழுப்பப்படுவார்கள் என்பதையும் அவர்கள் உணர மாட்டார்கள்” என்று (நபியே) நீர் கூறுவீராக!

Say, “No one in the heavens and earth has knowledge of the unseen except Allah.” Nor do they know when they will be resurrected.

Bali iddaraka AAilmuhum fee alakhirati bal hum fee shakkin minha bal hum minha AAamoona

Nay, they have no knowledge of the Hereafter. Nay, they are in doubt about it. Nay, they are in complete blindness about it.

Rather, their knowledge is arrested concerning the Hereafter. Rather, they are in doubt about it. Rather, they are, concerning it, blind.

மறுமையைப் பற்றிய இவர்களுடைய ஞானமே முற்றிலும் சூனியமாகி விட்டது. (அவ்விஷயத்தில்) அவர்கள் பெரும் சந்தேகத்தில் தான் இருக்கின்றனர். அதுமட்டுமா? (அறிந்திருந்தும்) அவர்கள் குருடர்களாகி விட்டனர்.

ஆனால் மறுமையைப் பற்றிய அவர்களுடைய அறிவோ மிகக் கீழ்நிலையிலே உள்ளது; அவர்கள் அதில் (பின்னும்) சந்தேகத்திலேயே இருக்கின்றனர்; அது மட்டுமா? அதைப்பற்றி அவர்கள் குருடர்களாகவே இருக்கின்றனர்.  

எனினும், மறுமையைப் பற்றிய இவர்களுடைய அறிவோ (களைப்புற்றுக் கீழ் நிலைய அடைந்து) முடிவுபெற்றுவிட்டது, மாறாக அதுபற்றி இவர்கள் (பெரும்) சந்தேகத்தில் இருக்கின்றனர், இல்லை! அதைப்பற்றி இவர்கள் குருடர்களாகவே இருக்கிறார்கள்.

In fact, their knowledge cannot comprehend the Hereafter; rather, they are in doubt about it; rather, they are blind to it.

Waqala allatheena kafaroo aitha kunna turaban waabaona ainna lamukhrajoona

And those who disbelieve say: "When we have become dust – we and our fathers – shall we really be brought forth (again)?

And those who disbelieve say, "When we have become dust as well as our forefathers, will we indeed be brought out [of the graves]?

"(மரணித்து) உக்கி மண்ணாகப் போனதன் பின்னர் நாங்களும், எங்கள் மூதாதைகளும் (உயிர் கொடுத்து) எழுப்பப் படுவோமா?" என்று இந்நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் கேட்கின்றனர்.

மேலும், நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்: “நாங்களும் எங்கள் மூதாதையரும் (மரித்து) மண்ணாகிப் போன பின்னர், மீண்டும் வெளியே கொண்டு வரப்படுவோமா?

“நாங்களும், எங்களுடைய மூதாதையர்களும் மண்ணாகிவிட்டால் நிச்சயமாக (மீண்டும் உயிர் பெற்று பூமியிலிருந்து) நாங்கள் வெளியேற்றப்படுவோர்களா?” என்று நிராகரிப்போர் கூறுகின்றனர்.

Those who disbelieve say, “What! Is it that when we and our forefathers become dust, will we really be brought forth [alive]?

Laqad wuAAidna hatha nahnu waabaona min qablu in hatha illa asateeru alawwaleena

"Indeed we were promised this – we and our forefathers before (us), verily, these are nothing but tales of ancients."

We have been promised this, we and our forefathers, before. This is not but legends of the former peoples."

(அன்றி) "நாங்களும் இதற்கு முன்னர் இருந்த எங்கள் மூதாதைகளும் இவ்வாறே பயமுறுத்தப்பட்டோம். இது முன்னுள்ளோரின் கட்டுக்கதைகளே அன்றி வேறில்லை" (என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர்.)

நிச்சயமாக, இ(ந்த அச்சுறுத்தலான)து எங்களுக்கும் எங்களுக்கு முன் சென்று போன எங்கள் மூதாதையருக்கும் வாக்களிக்கப்பட்டே வருகிறது; இது முன்னோர்களின் கட்டுக்கதைகளேயன்றி வேறில்லை” (என்றுங் கூறுகின்றனர்).

“நிச்சயமாக இதுபற்றி நாங்களும், இதற்கு முன்னர் எங்கள் மூதாதையர்களும் வாக்களிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தோம், இது முன்னுள்ளோரின் கட்டுக்கதைகளே தவிர (வேறு) இல்லை” (என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர்).

We and our forefathers have been promised this before; this is nothing but ancient fables!”

Qul seeroo fee alardi faonthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu almujrimeena

Say to them (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "Travel in the land and see how has been the end of the Mujrimûn (criminals, those who denied Allâh's Messengers and disobeyed Allâh)."

Say, [O Muhammad], "Travel through the land and observe how was the end of the criminals."

ஆகவே (நபியே!) "பூமியில் சுற்றித் திரிந்து (உங்களைப் போன்று இருந்த) குற்றவாளிகளின் முடிவு எவ்வாறாயிற்று என்பதைக் கவனித்துப் பாருங்கள்" (என்று) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்.

“பூமியில் பிராயாணம் செய்து, குற்றவாளிகளின் முடிவு என்னவாயிற்று என்று பாருங்கள்” என்று (அவர்களிடம் நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக.

(ஆகவே,) “பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்து குற்றவாளிகளின் முடிவு எப்படி இருந்தது என்பதை (கவனித்து)ப் பாருங்கள் என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக!”

Say, “Travel in the land and see how was the end of the wicked.”

Wala tahzan AAalayhim wala takun fee dayqin mimma yamkuroona

And grieve you not over them, nor be straitened (in distress) because of what they plot.

And grieve not over them or be in distress from what they conspire.

(நபியே!) அவர்களைப் பற்றி நீங்கள் கவலை கொள்ளாதீர்கள். அவர்களுடைய சூழ்ச்சிகளைப் பற்றியும் நீங்கள் மனமொடிந்து விடாதீர்கள்.

அவர்களுக்காக நீர் கவலைப்படாதீர்; மேலும், அவர்கள் செய்யும் சூழ்ச்சியைப் பற்றியும் நீர் சங்கடத்தில் ஆக வேண்டாம்.

மேலும், (நபியே!) அவர்களுக்காக நீர் கவலை கொள்ளாதீர், அவர்கள் செய்யும் சூழ்ச்சி பற்றி நீர் நெருக்கடியில் ஆகிவிடவும் வேண்டாம்.

Do not grieve over them, nor be distressed by their plots.

Wayaqooloona mata hatha alwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeena

And they (the disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh) say: "When (will) this promise (be fulfilled), if you are truthful?"

And they say, "When is [the fulfillment of] this promise, if you should be truthful?"

(நம்பிக்கையாளர்களை நோக்கி நிராகரிக்கும்) அவர்கள் "மெய்யாகவே நீங்கள் உண்மை சொல்பவர்களாக இருந்தால் நீங்கள் பயமுறுத்தும் வேதனை எப்பொழுது வரும்?" என்று கேட்கின்றார்கள்.

இன்னும்: “நீங்கள் உண்மை கூறுபவர்களாக இருந்தால் (வேதனை பற்றிய) இந்த வாக்குறுதி எப்பொழுது (நிறைவேறும்?)” என்றும் அவர்கள் கேட்கிறார்கள்.

இன்னும், “நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால், (வேதனை வருமென்று) இந்த வாக்கு எப்பொழுது வரும்?” என்று அவர்கள் கேட்கின்றார்கள்.

They say, “When will this warning come to pass, if you are truthful?”

Qul AAasa an yakoona radifa lakum baAAdu allathee tastaAAjiloona

Say: "Perhaps that which you wish to hasten on, may be close behind you.

Say, "Perhaps it is close behind you - some of that for which you are impatient.

அதற்கு (நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "நீங்கள் அவசரப்படுபவைகளில் சில இப்பொழுதே உங்களைப் பின் தொடரவும் கூடும்."

“நீங்கள் அவசரப்படுபவற்றில் சில இப்பொழுதே உங்களுக்கு வந்து சேரக்கூடும்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறிவிடுவீராக.

(அதற்கு) ”நீங்கள் அவசரப்படுகின்றீர்களே அத்தகையவை சில (இப்பொழுதே) உங்களை வந்தடையக் கூடும் என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக!

Say, “Perhaps some of what you seek to hasten is quite near to you.”

Wainna rabbaka lathoo fadlin AAala alnnasi walakinna aktharahum la yashkuroona

"Verily, your Lord is full of grace for mankind, yet most of them do not give thanks."

And indeed, your Lord is full of bounty for the people, but most of them do not show gratitude."

ஆயினும், நிச்சயமாக உங்களது இறைவன் மனிதர்கள் மீது மிக்க கிருபையுடையவனாக இருக்கின்றான். (ஆதலால், தண்டனையை இதுவரை தாமதப்படுத்தி இருக்கிறான்.) எனினும், அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலானவர்கள் (இதற்கு) நன்றி செலுத்துவதில்லை.

இன்னும் நிச்சயமாக உம் இறைவன் மனிதர்கள் மீது மிக்க கிருபையுடையவனாகவே இருக்கின்றான்; ஆனால் அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் நன்றி செலுத்துவதில்லை.

இன்னும், நிச்சயமாக உமதிரட்சகன் மனிதர்களின் மீது பேரருளுடையவன், எனினும் அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் நன்றி செலுத்துவதில்லை.

Indeed, your Lord is graceful to mankind, but most of them are ungrateful.

Wainna rabbaka layaAAlamu ma tukinnu sudooruhum wama yuAAlinoona

And verily, your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they reveal.

And indeed, your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they declare.

(நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக உங்களது இறைவன் அவர்கள் தங்கள் உள்ளங்களில் மறைந்திருப்பதையும், (அதற்கு மாறாக) அவர்கள் வெளிப்படுத்துவதையும் நன்கறிவான்.

மேலும்: அவர்களின் இருதயங்கள் மறைத்து வைத்திருப்பதையும், அவர்கள் வெளிப்படுத்துவதையும் நிச்சயமாக உம் இறைவன் நன்கறிவான்.

இன்னும், (நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக உமதிரட்சகன், அவர்களுடைய நெஞ்சங்கள் மறைத்துவைத்திருகின்றதையும், (அதற்கு மாறாக) அவர்கள் வெளிப்படுத்துகின்றதையும், நன்கறிவான்.

Your Lord surely knows all that their hearts conceal and all that they reveal.

Wama min ghaibatin fee alssamai waalardi illa fee kitabin mubeenin

And there is nothing hidden in the heaven and the earth but it is in a Clear Book (i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz).

And there is nothing concealed within the heaven and the earth except that it is in a clear Register.

வானத்திலோ பூமியிலோ மறைவாக இருக்கும் எதுவுமே ("லவ்ஹுல் மஹ்ஃபூள்" என்னும்) அவனுடைய தெளிவான குறிப்புப் புத்தகத்தில் பதியப்படாமலில்லை.

வானத்திலும், பூமியிலும் மறைந்துள்ளவற்றில் நின்றும் எதுவும் (லவ்ஹுல் மஹ்ஃபூள் என்னும்) தெளிவான குறிப்பேட்டில் பதிவு செய்யப்படாமல் இல்லை.

வானத்தில் மற்றும் பூமியில் மறைவாக இருப்பதிலிருந்து எதுவும், (“லவ்ஹுல் மஹ்ஃபூள் என்னும் அவனுடைய) தெளிவான புத்தகத்தில் இருந்தே தவிர இல்லை.

For there is nothing hidden in the heavens and earth except that it is [written] in a clear Record.

Inna hatha alqurana yaqussu AAala banee israeela akthara allathee hum feehi yakhtalifoona

Verily, this Qur'ân narrates to the Children of Israel most of that in which they differ.

Indeed, this Qur'an relates to the Children of Israel most of that over which they disagree.

நிச்சயமாக இந்தக் குர்ஆன், இஸ்ராயீலின் சந்ததிகள் எவ்விஷயத்தில் தர்க்கித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்களோ அவைகளில் பெரும்பாலானவற்றை அவர்களுக்கு விவரித்துக் கூறுகிறது.

நிச்சயமாக இந்த குர்ஆன் பனூ இஸ்ராயீல்களுக்கு அவர்கள் கருத்து வேறுபாடு கொண்டிருந்ததில் பெரும்பாலானதை விவரித்துக் கூறுகிறது.

நிச்சயமாக இந்தக் குர்ஆன், இஸ்ராயீலின் மக்களுக்கு எதில் அவர்கள் வேறுபட்டு(த் தர்கித்து)க் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்களோ அதில் பெரும்பாலானவற்றை விவரித்துக் கூறுகிறது.

Indeed, this Qur’an explains to the Children of Israel most of that over which they differ.

Wainnahu lahudan warahmatun lilmumineena

And truly, it (this Qur'ân) is a guide and a mercy for the believers.

And indeed, it is guidance and mercy for the believers.

ஆகவே, அவர்களில் எவர்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டார்களோ அவர்களுக்கு இது நேர்வழி காட்டுவதாகவும் அருளாகவும் இருக்கின்றது.

மேலும்: நிச்சயமாக இது முஃமின்களுக்கு நேர்வழியாகவும், ரஹ்மத்தாக (நல்லருளாக)வும் இருக்கிறது.

இன்னும் நிச்சயமாக இ(ந்தக்குர் ஆனான)து, விசுவாசங்கொண்டோர்களுக்கு நேர்வழியாகவும், அருளாகவும் இருக்கின்றது.

And it is certainly a guidance and mercy for the believers.

Inna rabbaka yaqdee baynahum bihukmihi wahuwa alAAazeezu alAAaleemu

Verily, your Lord will decide between them (various sects) by His Judgement. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing.

Indeed, your Lord will judge between them by His [wise] judgement. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.

நிச்சயமாக உங்கள் இறைவன் தன் உத்தரவைக் கொண்டு (இந்தக் குர்ஆன் மூலம்) அவர்களுக்கிடையில் (ஏற்பட்ட விவகாரங்களைப் பற்றி) தீர்ப்பளிக்கின்றான். அவன் (அனைவரையும்) மிகைத்தவனும் (அனைத்தையும்) அறிந்தவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

நிச்சயமாக உம் இறைவன் (இறுதியில்) தன் கட்டளையைக் கொண்டு அவர்களுக்கிடையே தீர்ப்பளிப்பான் - மேலும், அவன்தான் மிகைத்தவன்; நன்கறிந்தவன்.

நிச்சயமாக உமதிரட்சகன், தன் தீர்ப்பைக் கொண்டு அவர்களுக்கிடையில் (மறுமையில்) தீர்ப்பளிப்பான், அவன்தான் (யாவரையும்) மிகைத்தவன் (யாவற்றையும்) நன்கறிகிறவன்.

Indeed, your Lord will judge between them by His justice, for He is the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing.

Fatawakkal AAala Allahi innaka AAala alhaqqi almubeeni

So, put your trust in Allâh; surely, you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) are on manifest truth.

So rely upon Allah; indeed, you are upon the clear truth.

ஆகவே, (நபியே!) நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வையே நம்புங்கள். நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் தெளிவான உண்மையின் மீதே இருக்கின்றீர்கள்.

எனவே, (நபியே!) அல்லாஹ்வின் மீதே (முற்றிலும்) நம்பிக்கை வைப்பீராக நிச்சயமாக நீர் தெளிவான உண்மையின் மீது இருக்கின்றீர்.

ஆகவே (நபியே! உமது காரியங்களை அவனிடமே ஒப்படைத்து முழுமையாக) அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது நீர் நம்பிக்கை வைப்பீராக! நிச்சயமாக நீர் தெளிவான உண்மையின் மீது இருக்கின்றீர்.

So put your trust in Allah, for you are upon the clear truth.

Innaka la tusmiAAu almawta wala tusmiAAu alssumma aldduAAaa itha wallaw mudbireena

Verily, you cannot make the dead to hear nor can you make the deaf to hear the call (i.e. benefit them and similarly the disbelievers), when they flee, turning their backs.

Indeed, you will not make the dead hear, nor will you make the deaf hear the call when they have turned their backs retreating.

(நபியே!) மரணித்தவர்களுக்குக் கேட்கும்படிச் செய்ய நிச்சயமாக உங்களால் முடியாது. (அவ்வாறே உங்களுக்குப்) புறங்காட்டிச் செல்லும் செவிடர்களுக்கு நீங்கள் அழைக்கும் (உங்களுடைய) சப்தத்தைக் கேட்கும்படிச் செய்யவும் முடியாது.

நிச்சயமாக நீர் மரித்தோரைக் கேட்கும் படிச் செய்ய முடியாது; - அவ்வாறே செவிடர்களையும் - அவர்கள் புறங்காட்டித் திரும்பி விடும்போது - (உம்) அழைப்பைக் கேட்கும் படிச் செய்ய முடியாது.

(நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக நீர் மரணித்தோரைச் செவியேற்கச் செய்யமாட்டீர், (அது உம்மால் முடியாது) மேலும் செவிடர்களுக்கும்_ அவர்கள் புறங்காட்டியவர்களாக திரும்பிச்சென்றால் (உம்முடைய) அழைப்பை நீர் செவியேற்கச் செய்யமாட்டீர்.

You cannot make the dead hear, nor can you make the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs retreating.

Wama anta bihadee alAAumyi AAan dalalatihim in tusmiAAu illa man yuminu biayatina fahum muslimoona

Nor can you lead the blind out of their error. You can only make to hear those who believe in Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), and who have submitted (themselves to Allâh in Islâm as Muslims).

And you cannot guide the blind away from their error. You will only make hear those who believe in Our verses so they are Muslims [submitting to Allah].

குருடர்களையும் அவர்களுடைய வழிகேட்டிலிருந்து நேரான வழிக்குக் கொண்டு வரவும் உங்களால் முடியாது. எவர்கள் நம்முடைய வசனங்களை நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு முற்றிலும் நமக்கு வழிபட்டு நடக்கின்றார்களோ அவர்களைத் தவிர மற்றவர்களுக்கும் நீங்கள் (நம்முடைய வசனங்களைக்) கேட்கும்படிச் செய்ய முடியாது.

இன்னும்: நீர் குருடர்களையும் அவர்களுடைய வழிகேட்டிலிருந்து (அகற்றி) நேர் வழியில் செலுத்த முடியாது - எவர்கள் நம் வசனங்களை நம்புகிறார்களோ அவர்களைத் தான் (அவற்றைக்) கேட்கும்படி நீர் செய்ய முடியும்; ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் (அவற்றை) முற்றிலும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்வர்.

குருடர்களுக்கு_ அவர்களுடைய வழிகேட்டை விட்டும் (நீக்கி) நேர்வழி காட்டுபவராகவும் நீர் இல்லை, நம்முடைய வசனங்களைக் கொண்டு விசுவாசம் கொள்கிறவரைத்தவிர (வேறெவரையும்) நீர் (அவற்றைச்) செவியுறச் செய்ய முடியாது. அவர்கள் (முற்றிலும்) கீழ்படிந்து நடப்பவர்கள்.

Nor can you guide the blind out of their error, nor can you make anyone hear except those who believe in Our verses, for they are ready to submit to Allah.

Waitha waqaAAa alqawlu AAalayhim akhrajna lahum dabbatan mina alardi tukallimuhum anna alnnasa kanoo biayatina la yooqinoona

And when the Word (of torment) is fulfilled against them, We shall bring out from the earth a beast for them, to speak to them because mankind believed not with certainty in Our Ayât (Verses of the Qur'ân and Prophet Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]).

And when the word befalls them, We will bring forth for them a creature from the earth speaking to them, [saying] that the people were, of Our verses, not certain [in faith].

இறுதிநாள் அவர்களை நெருங்கிய சமயத்தில், அவர்களுக்காகப் பூமியிலிருந்து ஒரு கால்நடையை நாம் வெளிப் படுத்துவோம். அது எந்தெந்த மனிதர்கள் நம்முடைய வசனங்களை நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளவில்லை என்பதை அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லிக் காண்பிக்கும்.

அவர்கள் மீது (வேதனையுடைய) வாக்கு நெருங்கும் போது, அவர்களுக்காக ஒரு பிராணியை பூமியிலிருந்து நாம் வெளியாக்குவோம்; அது, நிச்சயமாக மனிதர்கள் (யார், யார்) நம் வசனங்களின் மீது உறுதி கொள்ளவில்லையென்று அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லிக் காண்பிக்கும்.

(இறுதி நாளைப் பற்றி நம்முடைய) கூற்று அவர்கள் மீது நிகழ்ந்தும் விட்டால், அவர்களுக்காகப் பூமியிலிருந்து ஒரு பிராணியை நாம் வெளிப்படுத்துவோம், நிச்சயமாக மனிதர்கள், நம்முடைய வசனங்களை உறுதி கொள்ளாதர்வர்களாக இருந்தார்கள் என்று அது அவர்களிடம் (தெளிவாகப்) பேசும்.

When the decree [of the Hour] comes to pass against them, We will bring forth to them a beast out of the earth that will tell them that the people had no faith in Our verses.

Wayawma nahshuru min kulli ommatin fawjan mimman yukaththibu biayatina fahum yoozaAAoona

And (remember) the Day when We shall gather out of every nation a troop of those who denied Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), and (then) they (all) shall be driven (to the place of reckoning),

And [warn of] the Day when We will gather from every nation a company of those who deny Our signs, and they will be [driven] in rows

(அவர்களில் உள்ள) ஒவ்வொரு வகுப்பாரிலும் நம்முடைய வசனங்களைப் பொய்யாக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தவர்களை நாம் (பிரித்து) அணியணியாகக் கூட்டும் நாளை (நபியே!) நீங்கள் அவர்களுக்கு ஞாபகமூட்டுங்கள்.

(அவர்களிலுள்ள) ஒவ்வொரு சமுதாயத்தாரிலும் நம் வசனங்களைப் பொய்ப்பித்தவர்களை(ப் பிரித்து) ஒரு படையாக நாம் சேகரிக்கும் நாளை (நபியே! நீர் நினைவூட்டுவீராக).

ஒவ்வொரு சமுதாயத்திலிருந்து நம்முடைய வசனங்களைப் பொய்யாக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தவர்களை, ஒரு படையாக நாம் ஒன்று திரட்டும் நாளை (நபியே நீர் நினைவு கூர்வீராக!) பின்னர் (மஹ்ஷர் மைதானத்தின் பால் செல்லும்போது அவர்களில் முன்னுள்ளவர்களுடன் அவர்களில் பின்னுள்ளவர்கள் சேர்ந்து கொள்வதற்காக) அவர்கள் நிறுத்திவைக்கப்படுவர்.

And [beware of] the Day when We will gather from every nation a group of those who used to reject Our verses, and they will be driven in ranks.

Hatta itha jaoo qala akaththabtum biayatee walam tuheetoo biha AAilman ammatha kuntum taAAmaloona

Till, when they come (before their Lord at the place of reckoning), He will say: "Did you deny My Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) whereas you comprehended them not by knowledge (of their truth or falsehood), or what (else) was it that you used to do?"

Until, when they arrive [at the place of Judgement], He will say, "Did you deny My signs while you encompassed them not in knowledge, or what [was it that] you were doing?"

அவர்கள் அனைவரும் (தங்கள் இறைவனிடம்) வரும் சமயத்தில் (இறைவன் அவர்களை நோக்கி) "நீங்கள் என்னுடைய வசனங்களை நன்கறிந்து கொள்வதற்கு முன்னதாகவே அதனைப் பொய்யாக்கி விட்டீர்களா? (அவ்வாறில்லையாயின்) பின்னர் என்னதான் நீங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தீர்கள்?" என்று கேட்பான்.

அவர்கள் யாவரும் வந்ததும்: “நீங்கள் என் வசனங்களைச் சூழ்ந்தறியாத நிலையில் அவற்றைப் பொய்ப்பித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தீர்களா? நீங்கள் என்ன செய்து கொண்டிருந்தீர்கள்?” என்று கேட்பான்.

முடிவாக_அவர்கள் (யாவரும் தங்கள் இரட்சகனிடம்) வந்து விடுவார்களானால், (அவர்களிடம்) “நீங்கள் என்னுடைய வசனங்களை_அவற்றை முழுமையாக நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொள்ளாமல் இருந்தும் பொய்யாக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தீர்களா? அல்லது என்னதான் நீங்கள் செய்துகொண்டிருந்தீர்கள்?” என்று (அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) அவன் கேட்பான்.

When they finally come, He will say, “Did you reject My verses without even comprehending them, or what exactly were you doing?

WawaqaAAa alqawlu AAalayhim bima thalamoo fahum la yantiqoona

And the Word (of torment) will be fulfilled against them, because they have done wrong, and they will be unable to speak (in order to defend themselves).

And the decree will befall them for the wrong they did, and they will not [be able to] speak.

அவர்கள் செய்துகொண்டிருந்த அநியாயத்தின் காரணமாக அவர்கள் மீது வேதனை ஏற்பட்டுவிடும். அச்சமயம் அவர்களால் பேசவும் முடியாது.

அன்றியும், அவர்கள் செய்து வந்த அக்கிரமத்தின் காரணத்தினால் அவர்கள் மீது (வேதனை பற்றிய) வாக்கு ஏற்பட்டு விட்டது; ஆகவே, அவர்கள் பேசமாட்டார்கள்.

மேலும், அவர்கள் அநியாயம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்ததன் காரணமாக அவர்கள் மீது (தண்டனையைப் பற்றிய) கூற்று ஏற்பட்டுவிட்டது, ஆகவே அவர்கள் பேசமாட்டார்கள்.

The decree [of punishment] will befall them because of their wrongdoing, leaving them speechless.

Alam yaraw anna jaAAalna allayla liyaskunoo feehi waalnnahara mubsiran inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yuminoona

See they not that We have made the night for them to rest therein, and the day sight-giving? Verily, in this are Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) for the people who believe.

Do they not see that We made the night that they may rest therein and the day giving sight? Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.

நிச்சயமாக நாம்தாம் அவர்கள் சுகமடைவதற்கு இரவையும் (அனைத்தையும்) நன்கு பார்ப்பதற்குப் பகலையும் உண்டு பண்ணினோம் என்பதை அவர்கள் (கவனித்துப்) பார்க்கவில்லையா? நிச்சயமாக இதில் நம்பிக்கை கொண்ட மக்களுக்குப் பல அத்தாட்சிகள் இருக்கின்றன.

நிச்சயமாக நாமே இரவை அதில் அவர்கள் ஓய்ந்திருப்பதற்காகவும், பகலை (அவர்களுக்கு) வெளிச்சமாகவும் ஆக்கினோம் என்பதை அவர்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா? நம்பிக்கை கொண்ட மக்களுக்கு நிச்சயமாக இதில் அத்தாட்சிகள் இருக்கின்றன.

நிச்சயமாக நாம் இரவை, அதில் அவர்கள் அமைதி பெறுவதற்காகவும், பகலை (யாவற்றையும்) நன்கு பார்ப்பதற்காகவும் நாமே ஆக்கினோம் என்பதை அவர்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா? நிச்சயமாக இதில் விசுவாசங்கொண்ட சமூகத்தார்க்குப் பல அத்ததாட்சிகள் இருக்கின்றன.

Do they not see that We made the night for them to rest in, and made the day bright? Indeed, there are signs in this for people who believe.

Wayawma yunfakhu fee alssoori fafaziAAa man fee alssamawati waman fee alardi illa man shaa Allahu wakullun atawhu dakhireena

And (remember) the Day on which the Trumpet will be blown – and all who are in the heavens and all who are on the earth, will be terrified except him whom Allâh will (exempt). And all shall come to Him, humbled.

And [warn of] the Day the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will be terrified except whom Allah wills. And all will come to Him humbled.

சூர் (எக்காளம்) ஊதப்படும் நாளில் அல்லாஹ் அருள் புரிந்தவர்களைத் தவிர, வானங்களிலும் பூமியிலும் உள்ள அனைவருமே திடுக்கிட்டு, நடுங்கித் தலை குனிந்தவர்களாக அவனிடம் வந்து சேருவார்கள்.

இன்னும் ஸூர் (எக்காளம்) ஊதப்படும் நாளை (நபியே! நீர் நினைவூட்டுவீராக; அந்நாளில்) அல்லாஹ் நாடியவர்களைத் தவிர, வானங்களில் இருப்பவர்களும், பூமியில் இருப்பவர்களும் திகிலடைந்து விடுவார்கள்; அவ்வனைவரும் பணிந்தவர்களாக அவனிடம் வருவார்கள்.

‌‍ஸுர் (குழல்) ஊதப்படும் நாளில், அல்லாஹ்(காப்பாற்ற) நாடியவர்களைத் தவிர வானங்களிலுள்ளவர்களும், பூமியிலுள்ளவர்களும் திடுக்கிட்டு விடுவார்கள், ஒவொருவரும் பணிந்தவர்களாக அவனிடம் வந்து விடுவர்.

And [beware of] the Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and all those who are in the heavens and on earth will be horrified except whom Allah wills, and all will come to Him, fully humbled.

Watara aljibala tahsabuha jamidatan wahiya tamurru marra alssahabi sunAAa Allahi allathee atqana kulla shayin innahu khabeerun bima tafAAaloona

And you will see the mountains and think them solid, but they shall pass away as the passing away of the clouds. The Work of Allâh, Who perfected all things, verily, He is Well-Acquainted with what you do.

And you see the mountains, thinking them rigid, while they will pass as the passing of clouds. [It is] the work of Allah, who perfected all things. Indeed, He is Acquainted with that which you do.

நீங்கள் காணும் மலைகளை அவை வெகு உறுதியாக இருப்பதாக எண்ணிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறீர்கள். (எனினும், அந்நாளில்) அவை மேகத்தைப் போல் (ஆகாயத்தில்) பறந்தோடும். ஒவ்வொரு பொருளையும் (படைத்து) அதன் இயற்கை அமைப்பின் மீது உறுதிப்படுத்திய அல்லாஹ்வுடைய கட்டளையால் (அவ்வாறு நடைபெறும்). நிச்சயமாக அவன் நீங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருக்கும் அனைத்தையும் நன்கறிபவனாகவே இருக்கின்றான்.

இன்னும் நீர் மலைகளைப் பார்த்து அவை மிகவும் உறுதியாக இருப்பதாக எண்ணுகிறீர்; (எனினும் அந்நாளில்) அவை மேகங்களைப் போல் பறந்தோடும்; ஒவ்வொரு பொருளையும் உறுதியாக்கிய அல்லாஹ்வின் செயல்திறனாலேயே (அவ்வாறு நிகழும்.) நிச்சயமாக, அவன் நீங்கள் செய்வதை நன்கு அறிபவன்.

மேலும் நீர் மலைகளை_அவைகளைத்திடமானவையாக (அசையாததாக) நீர் எண்ணுகிறீர்_(எனினும் அந்நாளின்போது) அவை மேகம் நகர்வது போல் நகர்வதை நீர் காண்பீர், ஒவ்வொரு பொருளையும் (படைத்து,) உறுதியாக ஒழுங்குபடுத்திய, அல்லாஹ்வுடைய (கலைத்திறன் நிறைந்த) செயலாக (அவ்வாறு நடைபெறும்) நிச்சயமாக அவன், நீங்கள் செய்துகொண்டிருபவற்றை நன்கு உணர்பவன்.

You will see the mountains, thinking them firmly fixed, but they will be moving like clouds – such is the design of Allah, Who has perfected everything. Indeed, He is All-Aware of what you do.

Man jaa bialhasanati falahu khayrun minha wahum min fazaAAin yawmaithin aminoona

Whoever brings a good deed (i.e. belief in the Oneness of Allâh along with every deed of righteousness), will have better than its worth; and they will be safe from the terror on that Day.

Whoever comes [at Judgement] with a good deed will have better than it, and they, from the terror of that Day, will be safe.

எவரேனும் யாதொரு நன்மையைச் செய்தால், அதற்கு(ரிய கூலியைவிட) மேலானதே அவர்களுக்குக் கிடைக்கின்றது. அன்றி, அந்நாளின் திடுக்கத்திலிருந்தும் அவர்கள் அச்சமற்று விடுகின்றார்கள்.

(அந்நாளில்) எவர் நன்மையைக் கொண்டு வருகிறாரோ, அவருக்கு அதைவிட மேலானது உண்டு - மேலும் அவர்கள் அந்நாளின் திடுக்கத்தை விட்டும் அச்சந் தீர்ந்து இருப்பார்கள்.

எவர் ஒரு நன்மையைக் கொண்டு வந்தாரோ, அதைவிட மிகச் சிறந்த (கூலியான)து அவருக்கு உண்டு, மேலும், (அவ்வாறு செய்யும்) அவர்கள் அந்நாளின் திடுக்கத்திலிருந்து அச்சமற்றவர்கள்.

Whoever comes with a good deed will be rewarded with better than it, and they will be safe from the horror of that Day.

Waman jaa bialssayyiati fakubbat wujoohuhum fee alnnari hal tujzawna illa ma kuntum taAAmaloona

And whoever brings an evil deed (i.e. Shirk – polytheism, disbelief in the Oneness of Allâh and every evil sinful deed), they will be cast down (prone) on their faces in the Fire. (And it will be said to them) "Are you being recompensed anything except what you used to do?"

And whoever comes with an evil deed - their faces will be overturned into the Fire, [and it will be said], "Are you recompensed except for what you used to do?"

எவரேனும் யாதொரு பாவம் செய்தால், அவர்கள் நரகத்தில் முகங்குப்புறத் தள்ளப்பட்டு "நீங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவை களுக்கன்றி (வேறெதற்கும்) உங்களுக்குக் கூலி கொடுக்கப்படுமா?" (என்று கேட்கப்படும்.)

இன்னும்: எவர் தீமையைக் கொண்டு வருகிறாரோ அவர்களுடைய முகங்கள் குப்புற (நரக) நெருப்பில் தள்ளப்படும்; “நீங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவற்றுக்கு அன்றி (வேறு) நீங்கள் கூலி கொடுக்கப்படுவீர்களா?” (என்று கூறப்படும்.)

மேலும், எவர் ஒரு தீமையைக்கொண்டு வந்தாரோ, அவர்களுடைய முகங்கள் நரகத்தில் குப்புறத்தள்ளப்படும், நீங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவைகளுக்கன்றி (வேறு எதற்கும்) கூலி கொடுக்க்கப்படுகிறீர்களா? (என்று கேட்கப்படுவர்.)

But whoever comes with an evil deed will be thrown on their faces in the Fire. Are you recompensed except for what you used to do?

Innama omirtu an aAAbuda rabba hathihi albaldati allathee harramaha walahu kullu shayin waomirtu an akoona mina almuslimeena

I (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) have been commanded only to worship the Lord of this city (Makkah), Who has sanctified it and to Whom belongs everything. And I am commanded to be from among the Muslims (those who submit to Allâh in Islâm).

[Say, O Muhammad], "I have only been commanded to worship the Lord of this city, who made it sacred and to whom [belongs] all things. And I am commanded to be of the Muslims [those who submit to Allah]

(நபியே! நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்:) மிக்க கண்ணியமுள்ள இந்நகரத்தின் அதிபதியாகிய இறைவன் ஒருவனையே வணங்குமாறு நான் ஏவப்பட்டு உள்ளேன். எல்லா பொருள்களும் அவனுக்கு உரியனவே! அன்றி, அவனுக்கே முற்றிலும் வழிபட்டவனாக இருக்கும்படியும் நான் ஏவப்பட்டுள்ளேன்.

“இந்த ஊரை எவன் கண்ணியப் படுத்தியுள்ளானோ அந்த இறைவனை வணங்குமாறு நான் கட்டளையிடப் பட்டுள்ளேன். எல்லாப் பொருட்களும் அவனுக்கே உரியன; அன்றியும் அவனுக்கே முற்றிலும் வழிபட்டவானக இருக்கும்படியும் நான் ஏவப்பட்டுள்ளேன்” (என்று நபியே! நீர் கூறுவீராக).

“நான் கட்டளையிடப்பட்டதெல்லாம் (மக்காவாகிய) இந்த ஊரின் இரட்சகனை நான் வணங்குவதைத்தான், அவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால், இதை இன்னும், அவனுக்கே முற்றிலும் கீழ்படிந்தவர்களில் உள்ளவனாக (முஸ்லிமாக) இருக்குமாறும் நான் ஏவப்பட்டுள்ளேன்” (என்று நபியே! நீர் கூறுவீராக!)

Say, “I have been commanded only to worship the Lord of this city [of Makkah] Who made it sacred and to Whom belongs all things. And I am commanded to be one of those who submit to Allah [in Islam],

Waan atluwa alqurana famani ihtada fainnama yahtadee linafsihi waman dalla faqul innama ana mina almunthireena

And that I should recite the Qur'ân, then whosoever receives guidance, receives it for the good of his own self; and whosoever goes astray, say (to him): "I am only one of the warners."

And to recite the Qur'an." And whoever is guided is only guided for [the benefit of] himself; and whoever strays - say, "I am only [one] of the warners."

அன்றி, திருக்குர்ஆனை நான் (அனைவருக்கும்) ஓதிக் காண்பிக்குமாறும் (ஏவப்பட்டுள்ளேன். அதனைக் கொண்டு) எவன் நேரான வழியை அடைகின்றானோ அவன் தன் சுய நன்மைக் காகவே நேரான வழியில் செல்கின்றான். எவரேனும் (இதிலிருந்து விலகித்) தவறான வழியில் சென்றால் (நபியே! நீங்கள் அதைப் பற்றிக் கவலைப்படாதீர்கள்.) "நிச்சயமாக நான் அச்சமூடடி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவன் மட்டும்தான் (நிர்ப்பந்திப்பவனல்ல)" என்று கூறுங்கள்.

இன்னும்: குர்ஆனை ஓதி வரவும் (நான் ஏவப்பட்டுள்ளேன்); ஆகவே எவர் நேர்வழியை அடைகிறாரோ - அவர் நேர்வழியடைவது அவர் நன்மைக்கேயாகும்; அன்றியும் எவர் வழி கெடுகிறாரோ (அவருக்குக்) கூறுவீராக: “நிச்சயமாக நான் அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவன்தான்.“

“அன்றியும், குர் ஆனை நான் ஓதிக்கொண்டிருக்குமாறும் (ஏவப்பட்டுள்ளேன். அதனைக் கொண்டு) எவர் நேர் வழியை அடைகின்றாரோ அவர் நேர்வழியடைவதெல்லாம் அவருக்கே (தன் சுய நன்மைக்ககாகவே) ஆகும், இன்னும் எவர் (இதிலிருந்து) வழி தவறி விடுகிறாரோ நிச்சயமாக நான் அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவர்களில் உள்ளவனே” என்று கூறுவீராக!

and to recite the Qur’an.” Then whoever chooses guidance, it is only for his own good; but whoever chooses to go astray, say [O Prophet], “I am only one of the warners.”

Waquli alhamdu lillahi sayureekum ayatihi fataAArifoonaha wama rabbuka bighafilin AAamma taAAmaloona

And say [(O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) to these polytheists and pagans]: "All praise and thanks are Allâh's. He will show you His Ayât (signs, in yourselves, and in the universe or punishments), and you shall recognise them. And your Lord is not unaware of what you do."

And say, "[All] praise is [due] to Allah. He will show you His signs, and you will recognize them. And your Lord is not unaware of what you do."

புகழ் அனைத்தும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே உரியன. (அவன் மறுமை வருவதற்குரிய) தன்னுடைய அத்தாட்சிகளை அதி சீக்கிரத்தில் உங்களுக்குக் காண்பிப்பான். அச்சமயம், அவைகளை நீங்கள் (உண்மையென) அறிந்து கொள்வீர்கள். (தற்சமயம்) நீங்கள் என்ன செய்து கொண்டிருக்கின்றீர்கள் என்பதைப் பற்றி (நபியே!) உங்களது இறைவன் பராமுகமாயில்லை என்று கூறுங்கள்.

இன்னும் கூறுவீராக: “எல்லாப் புகழும் அல்லாஹ் ஒருவனுக்கே! அவன் சீக்கிரத்தில் உங்களுக்குத் தன் அத்தாட்சிகளைக் காண்பிப்பான்; அப்போது அவற்றை நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொள்வீர்கள்” மேலும் உம்முடைய இறைவன் நீங்கள் செய்வதை விட்டும் பராமுகமாக இல்லை.

மேலும், “புகழனைத்தும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே உரியது, தன்னுடைய அத்தாட்சிகளை அடுத்து அவன் உங்களுக்குக் காண்பிப்பான், அது சமயம் அவைகளை நீங்கள் (உண்மையென) அறிந்து கொள்வீர்கள், என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக! மேலும், நீங்கள் செய்துகொண்டிருப்பவற்றைப் பற்றி (நபியே!) உமதிரட்சகன் பராமுகமானவனாக இல்லை.

And say, “All praise is for Allah. He will show you His signs, then you will acknowledge them. Your Lord is not unaware of what you do.”
