25 - al-Furqan (The Criterion) .

Tabaraka allathee nazzala alfurqana AAala AAabdihi liyakoona lilAAalameena natheeran

Blessed is He Who sent down the Criterion (of right and wrong, i.e. this Qur'ân) to His slave (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) that he may be a warner to the 'آlamîn (mankind and jinn).

Blessed is He who sent down the Criterion upon His Servant that he may be to the worlds a warner -

(நன்மை தீமைகளைத் தெளிவாகப்) பிரித்தறிவிக்கும் இவ்வேதத்தை தன் அடியார் (முஹம்மது) மீது இறக்கியவன் மிக்க பாக்கியமுடையவன். இது உலகத்தார் அனைவரையும் அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்வதாக இருக்கின்றது.

உலகத்தார் யாவரையும் அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்வதற்காக (சத்தியத்தையும், அசத்தியத்தையும் தெளிவாகப்) பிரித்தறிவிக்கும் இவ்வேதத்தைத் தன் அடியார் மீது இறக்கியவன் மிக்க பாக்கியமுடையவன்.

தன் அடியார் (முஹம்மது ஸல்லல்லாஹு அலைஹிவஸல்லம் அவர்கள்) மீது (அச்சத்தியத்திலிருந்து சத்தியத்தைப் பிரித்தறிவிக்கும்) ஃபுர்கானை – அது அகிலத்தார்க்கு அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்யக்கூடியதாக ஆவதற்காக இறக்கி வைத்தானே அத்தகையோன் மிக்க பாக்கியமுடையவன்.

Blessed is the One Who has sent down the Criterion to His slave, so that he may be a warner to the worlds,

Allathee lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi walam yattakhith waladan walam yakun lahu shareekun fee almulki wakhalaqa kulla shayin faqaddarahu taqdeeran

He to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Who has begotten no son (children or offspring) and for Whom there is no partner in the dominion. He has created everything, and has measured it exactly according to its due measurements.

He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and who has not taken a son and has not had a partner in dominion and has created each thing and determined it with [precise] determination.

(இவ்வேதத்தை அருளியவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால்,) வானங்கள் பூமியின் ஆட்சி அவனுக்குரியதே! அவன் யாதொரு சந்ததியை எடுத்துக்கொள்ளவும் இல்லை; அவனுடைய ஆட்சியில் அவனுக்கு யாதொரு துணையுமில்லை. அவனே அனைத்தையும் படைத்து அவைகளுக்குரிய இயற்கைத் தன்மையையும் அமைத்தவன்.

(அந்த நாயன்) எத்தகையவன் என்றால் வானங்கள், பூமி (ஆகியவற்றின்) ஆட்சி அவனுக்கே உரியது; அவன் (தனக்கென) ஒரு மகனை எடுத்துக் கொள்ளவில்லை; அவனுடைய ஆட்சியில் அவனுக்கு கூட்டாளி எவருமில்லை; அவனே எல்லாப் பொருட்களையும் படைத்து, அவற்றை அதனதன் அளவுப் படி அமைத்தான்.

(இவ்வேதத்தை அருட்செய்தவன்) எத்தகையோனென்றால் வானங்கள் மற்றும் பூமியின் ஆட்சி அவனுக்கே உரியது, அவன் (தனக்கென) மகனை எடுத்துக்கொள்ளவுமில்லை, (அவனுடைய) ஆட்சியில் அவனுக்குக் கூட்டுக்காரரும் இல்லை, அவனே ஒவ்வொரு பொருளையும் படைத்தான், பிறகு அதனதன் முறைப்படி அதைச் சரியாக அமைத்தான்.

He to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and earth, Who has never begotten a son, and has no partner in His dominion. He has created everything and measured it precisely.

Waittakhathoo min doonihi alihatan la yakhluqoona shayan wahum yukhlaqoona wala yamlikoona lianfusihim darran wala nafAAan wala yamlikoona mawtan wala hayatan wala nushooran

Yet they have taken besides Him other alîhâh (gods) who created nothing but are themselves created, and possess neither harm nor benefit for themselves, and possess no power (of causing) death, nor (of giving) life, nor of raising the dead.

But they have taken besides Him gods which create nothing, while they are created, and possess not for themselves any harm or benefit and possess not [power to cause] death or life or resurrection.

(இவ்வாறெல்லாமிருந்தும் இணைவைத்து வணங்குபவர்கள்) அல்லாஹ் அல்லாதவற்றை இறைவனாக எடுத்துக் கொண்டிருக் கிறார்கள். அவைகளோ (அல்லாஹ்வினால்) படைக்கப்பட்டவை. ஒன்றையும் அவை படைக்கவில்லை. யாதொரு நன்மையும் தீமையையும் தங்களுக்கே செய்துகொள்ளவும் அவை சக்தியற்றவை. அன்றி, உயிர்ப்பிக்கவோ, மரணிக்கச் செய்யவோ, உயிர் கொடுத்து எழுப்பவோ சக்தியற்றவைகளாகவும் இருக்கின்றன.

(எனினும் முஷ்ரிக்குகள்) அவனையன்றி (வேறு) தெய்வங்களை ஏற்படுத்திக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள் - அவர்கள் எந்தப் பொருளையும் படைக்க மாட்டார்கள்; (ஏனெனில்) அவர்களே படைக்கப்பட்டவர்கள். இன்னும் அவர்கள்; தங்களுக்கு நன்மை செய்து கொள்ளவோ தீமையை தடுத்துக் கொள்ளவோ சக்திபெற மாட்டார்கள்; மேலும் அவர்கள் உயிர்ப்பிக்கவோ, மறிக்கச் செய்யவோ, மீண்டும் உயிர் கொடுத்து எழுப்பவோ, இயலாதவர்களாகவும் இருக்கின்றனர்.

(ஆனால் இணைவைத்துக் கொண்டிருப்போர்) அவனையன்றி (வேறு வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) தெய்வங்களை அவர்கள் எடுத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள், அவர்கள் எதையும் படைக்க (சக்தி பெற) மாட்டார்கள், அவர்களோ (அல்லாஹ்வினால்) படைக்கப்படுகிறார்கள், மேலும், அவர்கள் தங்களுக்ககுத் தீமையையோ, நன்மையையோ செய்து கொள்ள அதிகாரம் (சக்தி) பெற மாட்டார்கள், இன்னும் அவர்கள் (யாரையும்) மரணிக்கச் செய்யவோ, (எதையும்) உயிர்ப்பிக்கவோ, (இறந்ததை உயிர் கொடுத்து) மீண்டும் எழுப்பவோ அதிகாரம் பெற மாட்டார்கள்.

They have taken besides Him other gods who can create nothing but are themselves created. Nor do they have power to harm or benefit themselves, nor do they have power to cause death, give life or resurrect the dead.

Waqala allatheena kafaroo in hatha illa ifkun iftarahu waaAAanahu AAalayhi qawmun akharoona faqad jaoo thulman wazooran

Those who disbelieve say: "This (the Qur'ân) is nothing but a lie that he (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) has invented, and others have helped him at it. In fact, they have produced an unjust wrong (thing) and a lie."

And those who disbelieve say, "This [Qur'an] is not except a falsehood he invented, and another people assisted him in it." But they have committed an injustice and a lie.

("திருக்குர்ஆனாகிய) இது பொய்யாக அவர் கற்பனை செய்து கொண்டதே அன்றி வேறில்லை. இ(தைக் கற்பனை செய்வ)தில் வேறு மக்கள் அவருக்கு உதவி புரிகின்றனர்" என்று நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர். ஆகவே, (நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் இவ்வாறு கூறுவதன் காரணமாக) அவர்கள் அநியாயத்தையும் பொய்யையுமே சுமந்து கொண்டனர்.

“இன்னும்; இது (அல் குர்ஆன்) பொய்யேயன்றி வேறு இல்லை; இதை இவரே இட்டுக்கட்டிக் கொண்டார்; இன்னும் மற்ற மக்கள் கூட்டத்தாரும் இதில் அவருக்கு உதவிபுரிந்துள்ளார்கள்” என்றும் நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர்; ஆனால் (இப்படிக் கூறுவதன் மூலம்) திடனாக அவர்களே ஓர் அநியாயத்தையும், பொய்யையும் கொண்டு வந்துள்ளார்கள்.

இன்னும் (குர் ஆனாகிய) “இது பொய்யே அன்றி (வேறு) இல்லை, இதனை (அபாண்டமாக) அவர் கற்பனை செய்து கொண்டார், இதில் வேறு கூட்டத்தினரும் அவருக்கு உதவி புரிந்துள்ளார்கள்” என்று நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்.

Those who disbelieve say, “This [Qur’an] is nothing but a lie which he has fabricated, with the help of other people.” What they claim is totally unjust and false.

Waqaloo asateeru alawwaleena iktatabaha fahiya tumla AAalayhi bukratan waaseelan

And they say: "Tales of the ancients which he has written down, and they are dictated to him morning and afternoon."

And they say, "Legends of the former peoples which he has written down, and they are dictated to him morning and afternoon."

அன்றி "இது முன்னோர்களின் கட்டுக்கதையே! காலையிலும் மாலையிலும் இவருக்கு ஓதிக் காண்பிக்கப்படுகிறது. அதனை இவர் (மற்றொருவரின் உதவியைக் கொண்டு) எழுதி வைக்கும்படிச் செய்கின்றார்" என்று அ(ந்நிராகரிப்ப)வர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர்.

இன்னும் அவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்: “இன்னும் அவை முன்னோர்களின் கட்டுக் கதைகளே; அவற்றை இவரே எழுதுவித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார் - ஆகவே அவை அவர் முன்னே காலையிலும் மாலையிலும் ஓதிக் காண்பிக்கப்படுகின்றன.”

இன்னும், (இது) முன்னோர்களின் கட்டுக்கதைகள் (மற்றவரின் உதவி கொண்டு) இவற்றை இவரே எழுதச்செய்து கொண்டிருக்கிறார், அது இவருக்குக் காலையிலும், மாலையிலும் ஓதிக் காண்பிக்கப்படுகிறது என்று (நிராகரிப்பவர்களாகிய) அவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்.

And they say, “Ancient fables which he has written down; they are dictated to him morning and evening.”

Qul anzalahu allathee yaAAlamu alssirra fee alssamawati waalardi innahu kana ghafooran raheeman

Say: "It (this Qur'ân) has been sent down by Him (Allâh) (the Real Lord of the heavens and earth) Who knows the secret of the heavens and the earth. Truly, He is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed by He who knows [every] secret within the heavens and the earth. Indeed, He is ever Forgiving and Merciful."

(அதற்கு நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "(அவ்வாறன்று.) வானங்களிலும், பூமியிலுள்ள ரகசியங்களை அறிந்தவன் எவனோ அவனே இதனை இறக்கி வைத்தான். (நீங்கள் மனம் வருந்தி அவனளவில் திரும்பினால்) நிச்சயமாக அவன் (உங்களுடைய இக்குற்றங்களை) மன்னிப்பவனும் கிருபை செய்பவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்."

(நபியே!) “வானங்களிலும், பூமியிலுமுள்ள இரகசியங்களை அறிந்தவன் எவனோ அவனே அதை இறக்கி வைத்தான்; நிச்சயமாக அவன் மிக மன்னிப்பவனாகவும், மிக்க கிருபை செய்வோனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்” என்று கூறுவீராக!

(அதற்கு) “வானங்களிலும், பூமியிலுமுள்ள இரகசியத்தை அறிகின்றானே அத்தகையவன் இதனை இறக்கி வைத்தான், “நிச்சயமாக அவன் மிக்க மன்னிக்கிறவனாக, மிக்க கிருபையுடையவனாக இருக்கிறான்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக!

Say, “It has been sent down by the One Who knows the secrets of the heavens and earth. He is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”

Waqaloo mali hatha alrrasooli yakulu alttaAAama wayamshee fee alaswaqi lawla onzila ilayhi malakun fayakoona maAAahu natheeran

And they say: "Why does this Messenger (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) eat food, and walk about in the markets (as we). Why is not an angel sent down to him to be a warner with him?

And they say, "What is this messenger that eats food and walks in the markets? Why was there not sent down to him an angel so he would be with him a warner?

(பின்னும்) அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர்: "இந்தத் தூதருக்கென்ன (நேர்ந்தது)? அவர் (நம்மைப் போலவே) உணவு உண்ணுகிறார்; கடைகளுக்கும் செல்கிறார். (அவர் இறைவனுடைய தூதராக இருந்தால்) அவருக்காக யாதொரு மலக்கு இறக்கி வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டாமா? அவ்வாறாயின், அவர் அவருடன் இருந்துகொண்டு அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்து கொண்டிருப்பாரே!

மேலும் அவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்: “இந்த ரஸூலுக்கு என்ன? இவர் (மற்றவர்களைப் போலவே) உணவு உண்கிறார்; கடை வீதிகளில் நடக்கிறார். இவருடன் சேர்ந்து அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிப்பதற்காக, ஒரு மலக்கு (வானவர்) அனுப்பப்படடிருக்க வேண்டாமா?”

மேலும் அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர், “இந்தத் தூதருக்கென்ன? அவர் (மற்ற மனிதர்களைப் போன்றே) உணவு உண்ணுகிறார், இன்னும், கடைவீதிகளில் நடக்கிறார், (அல்லாஹ்வுடைய தூதராக அவர் இருந்தால்,) அவர்பால் ஒரு மலக்கு இறக்கி வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டாமா? அப்பொழுது அவர் இவருடனிருந்து அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கைச் செய்பவராக இருப்பார்.

And they say, “What kind of messenger is this who eats food and walks in the markets? If only an angel had been sent down to him to be a warner with him,

Aw yulqa ilayhi kanzun aw takoonu lahu jannatun yakulu minha waqala alththalimoona in tattabiAAoona illa rajulan mashooran

"Or (why) has not a treasure been granted to him, or why has he not a garden whereof he may eat?" And the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong doers) say: "You follow none but a man bewitched."

Or [why is not] a treasure presented to him [from heaven], or does he [not] have a garden from which he eats?" And the wrongdoers say, "You follow not but a man affected by magic."

அல்லது அவருக்கு யாதொரு புதையல் கொடுக்கப்பட வேண்டாமா? அல்லது அவர் புசிப்பதற்கு வேண்டிய யாதொரு சோலை அவருக்கு இருக்கவேண்டாமா? (என்று கூறுகின்றனர்.) அன்றி, இவ்வக்கிரமக்காரர்கள் (நம்பிக்கையாளர்களை நோக்கி) நீங்கள் சூனியம் செய்யப்பட்ட ஒரு மனிதரையே பின்பற்று கின்றீர்கள்" என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர்.

“அல்லது இவருக்கு ஒரு புதையல் அளிக்கப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டாமா? அல்லது அதிலிருந்து உண்பதற்கு (ஒரு பழத்)தோட்டம் உண்டாயிருக்க வேண்டாமா?” (என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர்;) அன்றியும், இந்த அநியாயக் காரர்கள்; (முஃமின்களை நோக்கி) “சூனியம் செய்யப்பட்ட ஒரு மனிதரையேயன்றி, வேறெவரையும் நீங்கள் பின்பற்றவில்லை” என்றும் கூறுகிறார்கள்.

அல்லது அவர்பால் ஒரு புதையல் போடப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டாமா? அல்லது அவர் அதிலிருந்து புசித்துக் கொள்வாரே அத்தகைய ஒரு சோலை அவருக்கு உண்டாகி இருக்க வேண்டாமா? (என்றும் கூறுகிறார்கள்.) அன்றியும் இந்த அநியாயக்காரர்கள் சூனியம் செய்யப்பட்ட மனிதரையே அன்றி (வேறெவரையும்) நீங்கள் பின்பற்றவில்லை என்று (விசுவாசிகளிடம்) கூறுகிறார்கள்.

or a treasure had been cast down to him, or he had a garden to eat from it.” The wrongdoers say, “You are following none but a bewitched man.”

Onthur kayfa daraboo laka alamthala fadalloo fala yastateeAAoona sabeelan

See how they coin similitudes for you, so they have gone astray, and they cannot find a (Right) Path.

Look how they strike for you comparisons; but they have strayed, so they cannot [find] a way.

ஆகவே, (நபியே!) உங்களைப் பற்றி இவ்வக்கிரமக்காரர்கள் என்னென்ன வர்ணிப்புகள் கூறுகின்றார்கள் என்பதை கவனித்துப் பாருங்கள். ஆகவே, இவர்கள் (முற்றிலும்) வழிகெட்டு விட்டார்கள்; நேரான வழியை அடைய இவர்களால் முடியாது.

(நபியே! உமக்காக அவர்கள் எத்தகைய உவமானங்களை எடுத்துக் கூறுகிறார்கள் என்பதை நீர் பாரும்! அவர்கள் வழி கெட்டுப் போய்விட்டார்கள் - ஆகவே அவர்கள் (நேரான) மார்க்கத்தைக் காண சக்தி பெறமாட்டார்கள்.

உம்மைப்பற்றி அவர்கள் எப்படி உதாரணங்களைக் கூறுகின்றார்கள் என்பதை (நபியே கவனித்து)ப் பார்ப்பீராக! இவர்கள் வழிகெட்டுப் போனார்கள், ஆதலால் நேர்வழிக்கு (வர) அவர்கள் சக்திபெற மாட்டார்கள்.

See how they call you names. Thus they have gone astray and cannot find a way.

Tabaraka allathee in shaa jaAAala laka khayran min thalika jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu wayajAAal laka qusooran

Blessed is He Who, if He wills, will assign you better than (all) that – Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise) and will assign you palaces (i.e. in Paradise).

Blessed is He who, if He willed, could have made for you [something] better than that - gardens beneath which rivers flow - and could make for you palaces.

(நபியே! உங்களது இறைவனாகிய) அவன் மிக்க பாக்கியமுடையவன். அவன் நாடினால் (இந்நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் கோரும்) இவைகளைச் சொந்தமாக்கி மிக்க மேலான சுவனபதியை உங்களுக்குத் தரக்கூடியவன். அவைகளில் நீரருவிகள் தொடர்ந்து ஓடிக்கொண்டே இருக்கும். அதில் உங்களுக்குப் பல மாட மாளிகை களையும் அமைத்து விடுவான்.

(நபியே! இந்நிராகரிப்போர் சொல்வதைவிட) மேலான சுவன(த் தோட்ட)ங்களை அவன் நாடினால் உமக்காக உண்டாக்குவானே (அந்த நாயன்) பாக்கியம் மிக்கவன்; அவற்றின் கீழே ஆறுகள் சதா ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் - இன்னும் உமக்காக (அங்கு) மாளிகைகளையும் அவன் உண்டாக்குவான்.

(நபியே!) மிக்க பாக்கியமுடைய அவன் எத்தகையவனெனின், அவன் நாடினால், இதைவிட மிக்க மேலான சுவனங்களை உமக்கு ஆக்கித்தருவான், அவற்றின் கீழ் ஆறுகள் ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கும், இன்னும் உமக்கு (அதில்) மாளிகைகளையும் அமைத்துவிடுவான்.

Blessed is He Who, if He wills, could give you better than that: gardens under which rivers flow, and could give you palaces.

Bal kaththaboo bialssaAAati waaAAtadna liman kaththaba bialssaAAati saAAeeran

Nay, they deny the Hour (the Day of Resurrection), and for those who deny the Hour, We have prepared a flaming Fire (i.e. Hell).

But they have denied the Hour, and We have prepared for those who deny the Hour a Blaze.

உண்மையில் இவர்கள் விசாரணைக் காலத்தையே பொய்யாக்குகின்றனர். எவர்கள் விசாரணைக் காலத்தைப் பொய்யாக்குகிறார்களோ அவர்களுக்கு கடுமையாக பற்றி எரியும் நரகத்தைத்தான் நாம் தயார்படுத்தி வைத்திருக்கின்றோம்.

எனினும் அவர்கள் (இறுதி விசாரணக்) காலத்தையே பொய்ப்பிக்க முற்படுகின்றனர்; ஆனால் நாம் அந்தக்காலத்தைப் பொய்ப்பிக்க முற்படுபவனுக்கு (நரக) நெருப்பைச் சித்தம் செய்திருக்கிறோம்.

எனினும், இவர்கள் மறுமை நாளைப் பொய்யாக்குகின்றனர், மறுமை நாளைப் பொய்யாக்குகிறவனுக்கு (கொழுந்துவிட்டு எரிந்து கொண்டிருக்கும்) நரகத்தை நாம் தயார் செய்தும் வைத்துள்ளோம்.

But they deny the Hour, and We have prepared for those who deny the Hour a Blazing Fire.

Itha raathum min makanin baAAeedin samiAAoo laha taghayyuthan wazafeeran

When it (Hell) sees them from a far place, they will hear its raging and its roaring.

When the Hellfire sees them from a distant place, they will hear its fury and roaring.

அது இவர்களைக் கண்ட மாத்திரத்தில் சப்தமிட்டு ஆர்ப்பரிப்பதை இவர்கள் வெகு தூரத்திலிருந்தே செவி மடுத்துக் கொள்வார்கள்.

(அந்நரகம்) இவர்களை வெகு தொலைவில் காணும்போதே அதற்கே உரித்தான கொந்தளிப்பையும், பேரிரைச்சலையும் அவர்கள் கேட்பார்கள்.

அ(ந்நரகமான)து இவர்களை வெகு தொலைவான இடத்திலிருந்து கண்டால் அதற்குரிய கொந்தளிப்பையும், அது மூச்சுவிடும் பேரிரைச்சலையும் இவர்கள் (தங்கள் செவியால்) கேட்பார்கள்.

When it sees them from a far distance, they will hear its raging and roaring.

Waitha olqoo minha makanan dayyiqan muqarraneena daAAaw hunalika thubooran

And when they shall be thrown into a narrow place thereof, chained together, they will exclaim therein for destruction.

And when they are thrown into a narrow place therein bound in chains, they will cry out thereupon for destruction.

அவர்க(ளின் கை கால்க)ளைக் கட்டி, அதில் மிக்க நெருக்கடியான ஓரிடத்தில் எறியப்பட்டால் (கஷ்டத்தைத் தாங்க முடியாமல் மரணத்தைத் தரக்கூடிய) அழிவையே அவர்கள் கேட்பார்கள்.

மேலும் அ(ந்நரகத்)தின் ஒரு நெருக்கமான இடத்தில் அவர்கள் (சங்கிலியால்) கட்டி எறியப்பட்டால், (அவ்வேதனையை தாங்கமாட்டாமல், அதைவிட) அழிவே மேல் என அங்கே வேண்டியழைப்பார்கள்.

மேலும், அவர்கள் (சங்கிலியால்) கட்டப்பட்டவர்களாக, அதில் மிக்க நெருக்கடியான ஓர் இடத்தில் போடப்பட்டால் (கஷ்டத்தைத் தாங்க முடியாமல்) அழிவை அங்கு அவர்கள் அழைப்பார்கள்.

And when they are thrown into a narrow space therein, chained together, they will cry out for death.

La tadAAoo alyawma thubooran wahidan waodAAoo thubooran katheeran

Exclaim not today for one destruction, but exclaim for much destruction.

[They will be told], "Do not cry this Day for one destruction but cry for much destruction."

(ஆகவே, அந்நேரத்தில் அவர்களை நோக்கி,) "இன்றைய தினம் நீங்கள் ஓர் அழிவை மாத்திரம் அழைக்காதீர்கள். பல அழிவுகளை அழைத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள்" என்று கூறப்படும்.

“இந்த நாளில் நீங்கள் ஓர் அழிவை அழைக்காதீர்கள்; இன்னும் பல அழிவுகளை வேண்டியழையுங்கள்” (என்று அவர்களிடம் கூறப்படும்).

“இன்றையத்தினம் நீங்கள் ஓர் அழிவை மாத்திரம் அழைக்காதீர்கள், இன்னும் அநேக அழிவுகளை அழைத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள்” (என்று அவர்களிடம் கூறப்படும்)

Do not cry out this Day for death only once, but cry out many times.”

Qul athalika khayrun am jannatu alkhuldi allatee wuAAida almuttaqoona kanat lahum jazaan wamaseeran

Say: (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) "Is that (torment) better or the Paradise of Eternity which is promised to the Muttaqûn (the pious. See V.2:2)?" It will be theirs as a reward and as a final destination.

Say, "Is that better or the Garden of Eternity which is promised to the righteous? It will be for them a reward and destination.

(நபியே! அவர்களை நோக்கி) நீங்கள் கேளுங்கள்: "அந்த நரகம் மேலா? அல்லது பரிசுத்தவான்களுக்கு வாக்களிக்கப்பட்ட நிலையான சுவனபதி மேலா? அது அவர்களுக்கு (நற்) கூலியாகவும், அவர்கள் சேருமிடமாகவும் இருக்கின்றது.

அ(த்தகைய நரகமான)து நல்லதா? அல்லது பயபக்தியுடையவர்களுக்கு வாக்களிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள நித்திய சுவர்க்கம் நல்லதா? அது அவர்களுக்கு நற்கூலியாகவும், அவர்கள் போய்ச் சேருமிடமாகவும் இருக்கும்” என்று (அவர்களிடம் நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்.

“(நரகமாகிய) அது மேலானதா? அல்லது பயபக்தியுடையவர்கள் வாக்களிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்களே அத்தகைய நிலையான சுவனபதி மேலானதா?” என்று நீர் கேட்பீராக! அது அவர்களுக்கு (நற்) கூலியாகவும், (அவர்கள்) சேருமிடமாகவும் இருக்கின்றது.

Say, “Is that better or the Eternal Paradise which has been promised to the righteous?” It will be as a reward for them and as a final destination.

Lahum feeha ma yashaoona khalideena kana AAala rabbika waAAdan masoolan

For them there will be therein all that they desire, and they will abide (therein forever). It is a promise binding upon your Lord that must be fulfilled.

For them therein is whatever they wish, [while] abiding eternally. It is ever upon your Lord a promise [worthy to be] requested.

"அதில் அவர்கள் விரும்பியதெல்லாம் அவர்களுக்குக் கிடைக்கும். (அதில்) அவர்கள் என்றென்றும் தங்கிவிடுவார்கள்." (நபியே!) இது உங்களது இறைவன் மீது (அவனால்) வாக்களிக் கப்பட்ட கடமையாக இருக்கிறது.

“அதில் அவர்களுக்கு விரும்பியதெல்லாம் கிடைக்கும்; (அதில்) அவர்கள் நிரந்தரமாகத் தங்குவார்கள் - இதுவே உமது இறைவனிடம் வேண்டிப் பெறக்கூடிய வாக்குறுதியாக இருக்கும்.”

அவர்கள் நாடியவைகளெல்லாம் அதில் அவர்களுக்குண்டு, (அதில்) அவர்கள் நிரந்தரமாக (த் தங்கி) இருப்பவர்கள், (நபியே!) அது உமது இரட்சகனிடம் (மலக்குகளால் பிரார்த்தித்துக்) கேட்கப்படக் கூடிய வாக்குறுதியாக இருக்கிறது.

They will have there whatever they wish for, abiding therein forever. That is a promise that your Lord has taken upon Himself.”

Wayawma yahshuruhum wama yaAAbudoona min dooni Allahi fayaqoolu aantum adlaltum AAibadee haolai am hum dalloo alssabeela

And on the Day when He will gather them together and that which they worship besides Allâh [idols, angels, pious men, saints]. He will say: "Was it you who misled these My slaves or did they (themselves) stray from the (Right) Path?"

And [mention] the Day He will gather them and that which they worship besides Allah and will say, "Did you mislead these, My servants, or did they [themselves] stray from the way?"

(இணைவைத்து வணங்கிய) அவர்களையும், அல்லாஹ்வை யன்றி அவர்கள் வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்த தெய்வங்களையும் (விசாரணைக்காக) ஒன்று சேர்க்கும் நாளில் (இறைவன்) "என்னுடைய இவ்வடியார்களை நீங்கள் வழி கெடுத்தீர்களா? அல்லது அவர்கள் தாமாகவே இத்தவறான வழியில் சென்று விட்டனரா" என்று கேட்பான்.

அவர்களையும் அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி அவர்கள் வணங்கி கொண்டிருந்தவற்றையும் அவன் ஒன்று சேர்க்கும் நாளில்; (அத்தெய்வங்களை நோக்கி) “என்னுடைய இந்த அடியார்களை நீங்கள் வழி கெடுத்தீர்களா? அல்லது அவர்கள் தாமாகவே வழி கெட்டுப் போனார்களா?” என்று (இறைவன்) கேட்பான்.

அவர்களையும், அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி அவர்கள் வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்த (அல்லாஹ் அல்லாத)வர்களையும் அவன் (விசாரணைக்காக) ஒன்று திரட்டும் (மறுமை) நாளில், “என்னுடைய இந்த அடியார்களை நீங்கள்தாம் வழிகெடுத்தீர்களா? அல்லது அவர்கள் தாமாகவே வழிகெட்டு விட்டனரா?” என்று (அல்லாஹ்) கேட்பான்.

On the Day when He will gather them along with those whom they worshiped besides Allah, He will say, “Did you mislead these slaves of Mine, or did they stray from the right way on their own?”

Qaloo subhanaka ma kana yanbaghee lana an nattakhitha min doonika min awliyaa walakin mattaAAtahum waabaahum hatta nasoo alththikra wakanoo qawman booran

They will say: "Glorified are You! It was not for us to take any Auliyâ' (Protectors, Helpers) besides You, but You gave them and their fathers comfort till they forgot the warning, and became a lost people (doomed to total loss)."

They will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for us to take besides You any allies. But You provided comforts for them and their fathers until they forgot the message and became a people ruined."

அதற்கு அவை (இறைவனை நோக்கி) "நீ மிகப் பரிசுத்தமானவன். உன்னை அன்றி (மற்றெவரையும்) நாங்கள் எங்களுக்கு காப்பவனாக எடுத்துக்கொள்வது எங்களுக்குத் தகுதியன்று. எனினும், நீதான் அவர்களுக்கும் அவர்களுடைய மூதாதைகளுக்கும் சுகபோகத்தைக் கொடுத்தாய். அதனால் அவர்கள் (உன்னை) நினைப்பதையே மறந்து (தாங்களாகவே பாவம் செய்து) அழிந்துபோகும் மக்களாகி விட்டார்கள்" என்று கூறும்.

(அதற்கு) அவர்கள் “இறைவா! நீ தூயவன். உன்னையன்றி நாங்கள் பாது காவலர்களை ஏற்படுத்திக் கொள்ள எங்களுக்குத் தேவையில்லையே! எனினும் நீ இவர்களையும் இவர்களுடைய மூதாதையர்களையும் சுகம் அனுபவிக்கச் செய்தாய்; அவர்களோ உன் நினைப்பை மறந்தார்கள்; மேலும் அழிந்து போகும் கூட்டத்தாரானார்கள்” என்று கூறுவர்.

அ(தற்க)வர்கள் “நீ மிகப் பரிசுத்தமானவன், உன்னையன்றி (மற்றெதனையும்) நாங்கள் எங்களுக்குப் பாதுகாவலர்களாக எடுத்துக் கொள்வது எங்களுக்கு அவசியமன்று, எனினும், நீதான் அவர்களையும் அவர்களின் மூதாதையரையும் (உன்னை) நினனைவு கூர்வதை அவர்கள் மறந்துவிடும்வரை சுகமனுபவிக்கச் செய்தாய், மேலும் அவர்கள் அழிந்து போகும் கூட்டத்தாராகி விட்டார்கள்” என்று கூறுவர்.

They will say, “Glory be to You! It was not for us to take besides You any guardians. But You provided for them and their forefathers pleasures, until they forgot the message, for they were a ruined people.”

Faqad kaththabookum bima taqooloona fama tastateeAAoona sarfan wala nasran waman yathlim minkum nuthiqhu AAathaban kabeeran

Thus they (false gods – all deities other than Allâh) will deny you (polytheists) regarding what you say (that they are gods besides Allâh), then you can neither avert (the punishment) nor get help. And whoever among you does wrong (i.e. sets up rivals to Allâh), We shall make him taste a great torment.

So they will deny you, [disbelievers], in what you say, and you cannot avert [punishment] or [find] help. And whoever commits injustice among you - We will make him taste a great punishment.

(ஆகவே, அந்த நிராகரிப்பவர்களை நோக்கி "உங்களை வழி கெடுத்தவை இவைதான் என்று) நீங்கள் கூறியதை இவைகளே பொய்யாக்கி விட்டன. ஆதலால், (நம்முடைய வேதனையைத்) தட்டிக் கழிக்கவும் உங்களால் முடியாது. (இவைகளின்) உதவியைப் பெற்றுக் கொள்ளவும் உங்களால் முடியாது.. ஆகவே, உங்களில் எவன் அநியாயம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தானோ அவன் பெரும் வேதனையைச் சுவைக்கும்படி நிச்சயமாக நாம் செய்வோம்" (என்று கூறுவோம்).

நீங்கள் சொல்லியதையெல்லாம் திடனாக இவர்கள் பொய்யாக்கிவிட்டனர்; ஆகவே (இப்போது வேதனையைத்) தடுத்துக் கொள்ளவோ, உதவி பெற்றுக் கொள்ளவோ நீங்கள் சக்தி பெறமாட்டீர்கள்; மேலும் உங்களில் எவன் அநியாயம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தானோ, அவனை நாம் பெரியதொரு வேதனையைச் சுவைக்கச்செய்வோம்” (என்று இறைவன் கூறுவான்).

ஆகவே, நீங்கள் கூறியதை திட்டமாக இவர்கள் பொய்யாக்கிவிட்டனர், ஆதலால் (நம்முடைய தண்டனையைத்) தடுத்துக் கொள்ளவோ, இன்னும் உதவியைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளவோ நீங்கள் சக்திபெற மாட்டீர்கள், மேலும், உங்களில் எவர் அநியாயம் செய்கிறாரோ அவரை மாபெரும் வேதனையைச் சுவைக்குமாறு நாம் செய்வோம்” (என்று அவர்களுக்கு நாம் கூறுவோம்).

Thus they [the idols] will deny all what you say, so you cannot avert [punishment] nor can get any help. Whoever among you does wrong, We will make him taste a great punishment.

Wama arsalna qablaka mina almursaleena illa innahum layakuloona alttaAAama wayamshoona fee alaswaqi wajaAAalna baAAdakum libaAAdin fitnatan atasbiroona wakana rabbuka baseeran

And We never sent before you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) any of the Messengers but verily, they ate food and walked in the markets. And We have made some of you as a trial for others; will you have patience? And your Lord is Ever All-Seer (of everything).

And We did not send before you, [O Muhammad], any of the messengers except that they ate food and walked in the markets. And We have made some of you [people] as trial for others - will you have patience? And ever is your Lord, Seeing.

(நபியே!) உங்களுக்கு முன்னர் நாம் அனுப்பி வைத்த நம்முடைய தூதர்களெல்லாம் நிச்சயமாக (உங்களைப் போல்) உணவு உண்பவர்களாகவும், கடைகளுக்குச் செல்பவர்களாகவும் இருந்தார்கள். எனினும், உங்களில் சிலரை சிலருக்குச் சோதனையாக ஆக்கி வைத்தோம். ஆகவே, (நம்பிக்கையாளர்களே! இந்நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் துன்புறுத்துவதை) நீங்களும் சகித்துக் கொண்டிருங்கள். (நபியே!) உங்களது இறைவன் (அனைத்தையும்) உற்று நோக்கியவனாகவே இருக்கின்றான்.

(நபியே!) இன்னும் உமக்கு முன்னர் நாம் அனுப்பிய தூதர்களெல்லாம் நிச்சயமாக உணவருந்துபவர்களாகவும், கடை வீதிகளில் நடமாடுபவர்களாகவும் தாம் இருந்தார்கள்; மேலும், நாம் உங்களில் சிலரை மற்றும் சிலருக்குச் சோதனையாக்கி இருக்கிறோம் - ஆகவே நீங்கள் பொறுமையுடன் இருப்பீர்களா? உம்முடைய இறைவன் (யாவற்றையும்) உற்று நோக்கியவனாகவே இருக்கின்றான்.

மேலும், (நபியே! உமக்கு) முன்னர் (நாம் அனுப்பிய) தூதர்களிலிருந்து நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் உணவு உண்பவர்களாகவும், கடைத்தெருவில் நடமாடுபவர்களாகவுமே தவிர நாம் அனுப்பவில்லை, மேலும் உங்களில் சிலரை, (மற்றும்) சிலருக்குச் சோதனையாக ஆக்கி வைத்தோம், (அச்சோதனையில்) நீங்கள் பொறுமையாய் இருப்பீர்களா? (நபியே!) மேலும், உம்முடைய இரட்சகன் (யாவற்றையும்) பார்க்கக்கூடியவனாக இருக்கிறான்.

We did not send any messengers before you [O Prophet] except that they ate food and walked in the markets. We have made some of you as a trial for others. Will you have patience? For your Lord is All-Seeing.

Waqala allatheena la yarjoona liqaana lawla onzila AAalayna almalaikatu aw nara rabbana laqadi istakbaroo fee anfusihim waAAataw AAutuwwan kabeeran

And those who expect not a Meeting with Us (i.e. those who deny the Day of Resurrection and the life of the Hereafter) said: "Why are not the angels sent down to us, or why do we not see our Lord?" Indeed they think too highly of themselves, and are scornful with great pride.

And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence.

(மறுமை நாளில்) நம்மைச் சந்திப்பதை எவர்கள் நம்பவில்லையோ அவர்கள் "எங்கள் மீது (நேரடியாகவே) மலக்குகள் இறக்கப்பட வேண்டாமா? அல்லது (எங்களுடைய கண்களால்) எங்கள் இறைவனைப் பார்க்க வேண்டாமா?" என்று கூறுகின்றனர். இவர்கள் தங்களை மிக மிகப் பெரிதாக எண்ணிக்கொண்டு அளவு கடந்து (பெரும் பாவத்தில் சென்று) விட்டனர்.

மேலும் (மறுமையில்) நம் சந்திப்பை நம்பாது இருக்கிறார்களே அவர்கள்: “எங்களிடம் ஏன் மலக்குகள் அனுப்பப்படவில்லை? அல்லது ஏன் நாம் நம்முடைய இறைவனைக் காண முடியவில்லை?” என்று கூறுகிறார்கள். திடமாக அவர்கள் பெருமையடித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்; மேலும், மிகவும் வரம்பு கடந்து சென்று விட்டனர்.

மேலும், (மறுமையில்) நம் சந்திப்பை நம்பாதிருக்கிறார்களே அத்தகையோர், “எங்கள்மீது மலக்குகள் இறக்கப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டாமா? அல்லது நாங்கள் எங்கள் இரட்சகனை (கண்களால்) காண வேண்டாமா?” என்று கூறுகின்றனர், இவர்கள் தங்கள் மனங்களில் திட்டமாக தங்களைப் பெரிதாக எண்ணிக் கொண்டனர், பெரிய அளவு வரம்பு கடந்து (சென்று)ம் விட்டனர்.

Those who do not expect to meet Us say, “Why are angels not sent down to us or why do we not see our Lord?” They have been too proud of themselves, and have transgressed immensely.

Yawma yarawna almalaikata la bushra yawmaithin lilmujrimeena wayaqooloona hijran mahjooran

On the Day they will see the angels – no glad tidings will there be for the Mujrimûn (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners) that day. And they (angels) will say: "All kinds of glad tidings are forbidden to you," [none will be allowed to enter Paradise except the one who said: Lâ ilâha illallâh (none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh), and acted practically on its legal orders and obligations – see the footnote of V.2:193].

The day they see the angels - no good tidings will there be that day for the criminals, and [the angels] will say, "Prevented and inaccessible."

(அவர்கள் விரும்பியவாறு) மலக்குகளை அவர்கள் காணும் நாளில், இக்குற்றவாளிகளை நோக்கி "இன்றைய தினம் (உங்களுக்கு அழிவைத் தவிர) யாதொரு நல்ல செய்தியும் இல்லை" என்று (அம்மலக்குகள்) கூறுவார்கள். (அக்குற்றவாளிகளோ தங்களை அழிக்க வரும் அம்மலக்குகளைத்) "தடுத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள்; தடுத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள்" என்று சப்தமிடுவார்கள்.

அவர்கள் மலக்குகளைக் காணும் நாளில், அக்குற்றவாளிகளுக்கு நற்செய்தி எதுவும் அன்றைய தினம் இராது; (நற்பாக்கியம்) முற்றாக (உங்களுக்கு) தடுக்கப்பட்டு விட்டது என்று அந்த மலக்குகள் கூறுவார்கள்.

(அவர்களை மரணிக்கச் செய்ய வரும்) மலக்குகளை அவர்கள் காணும் நாளில், அக்குற்றவாளிகளுக்கு அன்றையத்தினம் யாதொரு நற்செய்தியும் இராது, (உங்களுக்கு நற்செய்தி கூறப்படுவது) முற்றாகத் தடுக்கப்பட்டுவிட்டது என்றும் அவர்கள் கூறுவார்கள்.

On the Day when they see the angels, there will be no glad tidings for the wicked, and [the angels] will say, “Absolutely forbidden for you.”

Waqadimna ila ma AAamiloo min AAamalin fajaAAalnahu habaan manthooran

And We shall turn to whatever deeds they (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners) did, and We shall make such deeds as scattered floating particles of dust.

And We will regard what they have done of deeds and make them as dust dispersed.

(இம்மையில்) அவர்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்த காரியங்களை நாம் நோக்கினால் (அதில் யாதொரு நன்மையும் இல்லாததனால்) பறக்கும் தூசிகளைப் போல் அவைகளை நாம் ஆக்கிவிடுவோம்.

இன்னும்; நாம் அவர்கள் (இம்மையில்) செய்த செயல்களின் பக்கம் முன்னோக்கி அவற்றை (நன்மை எதுவும் இல்லாது) பரத்தப் பட்ட புழுதியாக ஆக்கிவிடுவோம்.

மேலும், (இம்மையில்) செயலால் அவர்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவற்றின்பால் நாம் முன்னோக்கி, பின்னர் (அவர்கள் உலகில் விசுவாசம் கொள்ளாததால்) பரத்தப்பட்ட புழுதியாக (பலனற்றதாக) அவைகளை நாம் ஆக்கிவிடுவோம்.

We will turn to whatever deeds they did and turn them into scattered dust.

Ashabu aljannati yawmaithin khayrun mustaqarran waahsanu maqeelan

The dwellers of Paradise (i.e. those who deserved it through their Islamic Monotheistic Faith and their deeds of righteousness) will, on that Day, have the best abode, and have the fairest of places for repose.

The companions of Paradise, that Day, are [in] a better settlement and better resting place.

அந்நாளில் (நம்பிக்கையாளர்களான) சுவனவாசிகளோ, நல்ல தங்குமிடத்திலும் அழகான (இன்பமான) ஓய்வு பெறும் இடத்திலும் இருப்பார்கள்.

அந்நாளில் சுவர்க்க வாசிகள் தங்குமிடத்தால் மேலானவர்களாகவும், சுகமனுபவிக்கும் இடத்தால் அழகானவர்களாகவும் இருப்பார்கள்.

அந்நாளில் சுவனவாசிகள் தங்குமிடத்தால் மிகச் சிறந்தவர்களாகவும், ஓய்வுபெறும் இடத்தால் மிக அழகானவர்களாகவும் இருப்பர்.

On that Day the people of Paradise will have the best abode and the finest resting place.

Wayawma tashaqqaqu alssamao bialghamami wanuzzila almalaikatu tanzeelan

And (remember) the Day when the heaven shall be rent asunder with clouds, and the angels will be sent down, with a grand descending.

And [mention] the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds, and the angels will be sent down in successive descent.

வானம் மேகங்களால் பிளக்கப்பட்டு அந்நாளில் மலக்குகள் கூட்டம் கூட்டமாக இறங்குவார்கள்.

இன்னும் வானம் மேகத்தால் பிளந்து போகும் நாளில்; மலக்குகள் (அணியணியாய் கீழே) இறக்கப்படுவார்கள்.

இன்னும், வானம் மேகத்தால் பிளந்து, மலக்குகள் உறுதியாகவே இறக்கிவைக்கப்படும் நாளை-(அவர்களுக்கு எச்சரிக்கை செய்வீராக).

On the Day when the sky will split asunder with clouds, and the angels will be sent down in succession.

Almulku yawmaithin alhaqqu lilrrahmani wakana yawman AAala alkafireena AAaseeran

The sovereignty on that Day will be the true (sovereignty) belonging to the Most Gracious (Allâh), and it will be a hard Day for the disbelievers (those who disbelieve in the Oneness of Allâh – Islâmic Monotheism).

True sovereignty, that Day, is for the Most Merciful. And it will be upon the disbelievers a difficult Day.

அந்நாளில் உண்மையான ஆட்சி ரஹ்மான் ஒருவனுக்கே இருக்கும். நிராகரிப்பவர்களுக்கு அது மிக்க கடினமான நாளாகவும் இருக்கும்.

அந்நாளில் உண்மையான ஆட்சி அர்ரஹ்மானுக்குத்தான்; மேலும் காஃபிர்களுக்கு கடுமையன நாளாகவும் இருக்கும்.

அந்நாளில் உண்மையான ஆட்சி அர்ரஹ்மா(ன் ஒருவ)னுக்கே இருக்கும், மேலும், நிராகரிப்போருக்கு அது (மிக்க) கடினமான நாளாகவும் இருக்கும்.

The true dominion on that Day belongs to the Most Compassionate, and it will be a hard day for the disbelievers.

Wayawma yaAAaddu alththalimu AAala yadayhi yaqoolu ya laytanee ittakhathtu maAAa alrrasooli sabeelan

And (remember) the Day when the Zâlim (wrong doer, oppressor, polytheist) will bite at his hands, he will say: "Oh! Would that I had taken a path with the Messenger (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]).

And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, "Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way.

அந்நாளில் அநியாயக்காரன் தன் இரு கைகளையும் கடித்துக் கொண்டு "நம் தூதருடன் நானும் நேரான வழியைப் பின்பற்றிச் சென்றிருக்க வேண்டாமா?" என்று கூறுவான்.

அந்நாளில் அநியாயக்காரன் தன்னிருகைகளையும் கடித்துக்கொண்டு: “அத்தூதருடன் நானும் - (நேரான) வழியை எடுத்துக் கொண்டிருக்க வேண்டாமா?” எனக் கூறுவான்.

மேலும், “அத்தூதருடன் நானும் (நேரான) வழியை எடுத்துக் கொண்டிருக்க வேண்டுமே!” என்று கூறியவனாக அநியாயக்காரன் தன் இரு கைகளையும் கடித்துக் கொள்ளும் நாளை (அவர்களுக்கு நீர் நினைவுபடுத்துவீராக)

On that Day, the wrongdoer will bite his hands saying, “Would that I had taken a way with the Messenger!

Ya waylata laytanee lam attakhith fulanan khaleelan

"Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so-and-so as a Khalîl (an intimate friend)!

Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one as a friend.

(அன்றி) "என்னுடைய துக்கமே! (பாவம் செய்யும்படித் தூண்டிய) இன்னவனை நான் என்னுடைய நண்பனாக ஆக்கிக் கொள்ளாமல் இருந்திருக்க வேண்டாமா?

“எனக்கு வந்த கேடே! (என்னை வழி கெடுத்த) ஒருவனை நண்பனாக ஆக்கிக் கொள்ளாது இருந்திருக்க வேண்டாமா?”

“எனக்கு வந்த கேடே! (வழிகேட்டிற்கு அழைத்த) இன்னவனை நான் என்னுடைய சிநேகிதனாக ஆக்கிக் கொள்ளாதிருந்திருக்க வேண்டுமே! (என்றும்),

Woe to me! Would that I had not taken so-and-so as a close friend!

Laqad adallanee AAani alththikri baAAda ith jaanee wakana alshshaytanu lilinsani khathoolan

"He indeed led me astray from the Reminder (this Qur'ân) after it had come to me. And Shaitân (Satan) is to man ever a deserter in the hour of need." (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi)

He led me away from the remembrance after it had come to me. And ever is Satan, to man, a deserter."

நல்லுபதேசம் என்னிடம் வந்ததன் பின்னரும் அதிலிருந்து அவன் என்னைத் திருப்பி விட்டானே! அந்த ஷைத்தான் மனிதனுக்குப் பெரும் சதிகாரனாக இருந்தானே!" (என்றும் புலம்புவான்.)

“நிச்சயமாக, என்னிடம் நல்லுபதேசம் வந்த பின்னரும் அதிலிருந்து அவன் என்னை வழி கெடுத்தானே! மேலும் ஷைத்தான் மனிதனுக்கு மிகவும் சதி செய்பவனாக இருக்கிறான்!” (என்று புலம்புவான்.)

“நல்லுபதேசத்தை விட்டும்-அது என்னிடம் வந்ததன் பின்னர் (நல்லுபதேசம் பெறுவதிலிருந்து) அவன்தான் என்னைத் திட்டமாக வழி கெடுத்துவிட்டான், மேலும், “ஷைத்தான் மனிதனுக்குப் பெரும் மோசக்காரனாக இருக்கிறான்” (என்றும் பிதற்றுவான்).

He led me astray from the Reminder after it had come to me.” Satan always betrays man.

Waqala alrrasoolu ya rabbi inna qawmee ittakhathoo hatha alqurana mahjooran

And the Messenger (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) will say: "O my Lord! Verily, my people deserted this Qur'ân (neither listened to it nor acted on its laws and teachings).

And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur'an as [a thing] abandoned."

(அச்சமயம் நம்முடைய) தூதர் "என் இறைவனே! நிச்சயமாக என்னுடைய இந்த மக்கள் இந்தக் குர்ஆனை முற்றிலும் வெறுத்து(த் தள்ளி) விட்டார்கள்" என்று கூறுவார்.

“என்னுடைய இறைவா நிச்சயமாக என் சமூகத்தார் இந்த குர்ஆனை முற்றிலும் புறக்கணித்து ஒதுக்கிவிட்டார்கள்” என்று (நம்) தூதர் கூறுவார்.

(நம்முடைய) தூதர், “என் இரட்சகனே! நிச்சயமாக என்னுடைய சமூகத்தார் இந்தக் குர் ஆனை முற்றிலும் புறக்கணிக்கப்பட்டதாக எடுத்துக் கொண்டனர்” என்று கூறுவார்.

The Messenger said, “O my Lord, my people have taken this Qur’an as a thing to be abandoned.”

Wakathalika jaAAalna likulli nabiyyin AAaduwwan mina almujrimeena wakafa birabbika hadiyan wanaseeran

Thus have We made for every Prophet an enemy among the Mujrimûn (disbelievers, polytheists, criminals). But Sufficient is your Lord as a Guide and Helper.

And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals. But sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper.

இவ்வாறே ஒவ்வொரு நபிமாருக்கும் குற்றவாளிகளை நாம் எதிரிகளாக ஏற்படுத்தி இருந்தோம். (நபியே!) உங்களுக்கு நேரான வழியை அறிவித்து, உதவி செய்ய உங்கள் இறைவனே போதுமானவன்.

மேலும், இவ்வாறே நாம் ஒவ்வொரு நபிக்கும் குற்றவாளிகளிலிருந்து பகைவரை உண்டாக்கினோம்; இன்னும், உம்முடைய இறைவன் (உமக்கு) நேர்வழி காட்டியாகவும் உதவிபுரிபவனாகவும் இருக்கப் போதுமானவன்.

இவ்வாறே ஒவ்வொரு நபிக்கும், குற்றவாளிகளிலிருந்து பகைவரை நாம் ஆக்கினோம், நேர் வழிகாட்டுபவனாகவும், உதவி செய்பவனாகவும் இருக்க (நபியே!) உம் இரட்சகன் (உமக்குப்) போதுமானவன்.

Thus did we assign for every prophet an enemy from among the wicked, but your Lord is sufficient as a Guide and Helper.

Waqala allatheena kafaroo lawla nuzzila AAalayhi alquranu jumlatan wahidatan kathalika linuthabbita bihi fuadaka warattalnahu tarteelan

And those who disbelieve say: "Why is not the Qur'ân revealed to him all at once?" Thus (it is sent down in parts), that We may strengthen your heart thereby. And We have revealed it to you gradually, in stages. (It was revealed to the Prophet in 23 years).

And those who disbelieve say, "Why was the Qur'an not revealed to him all at once?" Thus [it is] that We may strengthen thereby your heart. And We have spaced it distinctly.

(நபியே!) எவர்கள் (உங்களை) நிராகரிக்கிறார்களோ அவர்கள் "இந்த வேதம் முழுவதும் ஒரே தடவையில் இறக்கப்பட வேண்டாமா?" என்று கூறுகின்றனர். (இதனை) இவ்வாறு நாம் கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சமாக இறக்கி (வரிசை முறைப்படி) ஒழுங்கு படுத்துவதெல்லாம் உங்கள் உள்ளத்தைத் திடப்படுத்துவதற்காகவே!

இன்னும்: “இவருக்கு இந்த குர்ஆன் (மொத்தமாக) ஏன் ஒரே தடவையில் முழுதும் இறக்கப்படவில்லை?” என்று நிராகரிப்போர் கேட்கிறார்கள்; இதைக் கொண்டு உம் இதயத்தை உறுதிப்படுத்துவதற்காக இதனை படிப்படியாக நாம் இறக்கினோம்.

மேலும், (நபியே!) நிராகரித்தோர் “இவர் மீது குர் ஆன் (தவ்றாத், இன்ஜீல், ஜபூர் ஆகிய வேதங்கள் இறக்கப்பட்டது போன்று முழுவதும்) ஒரே தொகுப்பாக இறக்கப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டாமா?” என்று கூறுகின்றனர், அப்படித்தான் அதைக்கொண்டு உம் இதயத்தை நாம் உறுதிப்படுத்துவதற்காக (இறக்கிவைத்தோம்.) இன்னும் இதனைப் படிப்படியாக நாம் ஓதிக்காண்பித்(து விளக்கத்தையும் தெளிவு செய்)தோம்.

Those who disbelieve say, “Why was the Qur’an not sent down to him all at once?” [We sent it] in this way so that We may strengthen your heart thereby, and We have revealed it in a gradual manner.

Wala yatoonaka bimathalin illa jinaka bialhaqqi waahsana tafseeran

And no example or similitude do they bring (to oppose or to find fault in you or in this Qur'ân), but We reveal to you the truth (against that similitude or example), and the better explanation thereof.

And they do not come to you with an argument except that We bring you the truth and the best explanation.

இந்நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் (எத்தகைய கேள்விகளைக் கேட்டு அதற்காக ஆச்சரியமான) எந்த உதாரணத்தை உங்களிடம் அவர்கள் கொண்டு வந்த போதிலும் (அதைவிட) உண்மையான விஷயத்தையும், அழகான வியாக்கியானத்தையும் (விவரத்தையும்) நாம் உங்களுக்கு கூறாமல் இருக்கவில்லை.

அவர்கள் உம்மிடம் எவ்விதமான உவமானத்தைக் கொண்டு வந்தாலும், (அதை விடவும்) உண்மையானதும், அழகானதுமான ஒரு விளக்கத்தை நாம் உமக்குக் கொடுக்காமல் இல்லை.

உம்மிடம் எந்த உதாரணத்தையும் அவர்கள் கொண்டு வருவதில்லை, (அதைவிட) உண்மையானதையும், விளக்கத்தால் மிக அழகானதையும் நாம் உம்மிடம் கொண்டுவந்தே தவிர,

Whenever they bring you an argument, We bring you the truth and the best explanation.

Allatheena yuhsharoona AAala wujoohihim ila jahannama olaika sharrun makanan waadallu sabeelan

Those who will be gathered to Hell (prone) on their faces, such will be in an evil state, and most astray from the (Straight) Path.

The ones who are gathered on their faces to Hell - those are the worst in position and farthest astray in [their] way.

இவர்கள்தாம் நரகத்திற்கு முகங்குப்புற இழுத்துச் செல்லப்படுபவர்கள். இவர்கள் தாம் மகாகெட்ட இடத்தில் தங்குபவர்களும் வழி தவறியவர்களும் ஆவார்கள்.

எவர்கள் நரகத்திற்குத் தங்கள் முகம் குப்புற (இழுத்துச் செல்லப் பெற்று) ஒன்று சேர்க்கப் படுவார்களோ, அவர்கள் தங்குமிடத்தால் மிகவும் கெட்டவர்கள்; பாதையால் பெரிதும் வழி கெட்டவர்கள்.

தங்களின் முகங்களின் மீது (முகங்குப்புற) நரகத்தின்பால் இழுத்துச் செல்லப்படுவார்களே அத்தகையோர் -அவர்கள் (தங்கும்) இடத்தால் மிகவும் கெட்டவர்கள், பாதையால் மிகவும் வழி தவறியவர்கள்.

Those who will be dragged on their faces to Hell – they will be in the worst position and farthest astray from the right path.

Walaqad atayna moosa alkitaba wajaAAalna maAAahu akhahu haroona wazeeran

And indeed We gave Mûsâ (Moses) the Scripture [the Taurât (Torah)], and placed his brother Hârûn (Aaron) with him as a helper;

And We had certainly given Moses the Scripture and appointed with him his brother Aaron as an assistant.

(இதற்கு முன்னர்) நிச்சயமாக நாம் மூஸாவுக்கு(த் "தவ்றாத்" என்னும்) ஒரு வேதத்தைக் கொடுத்திருந்தோம். அவருடைய சகோதரர் ஹாரூனை அவருக்கு மந்திரியாகவும் ஆக்கினோம்.

மேலும் நிச்சயமாக நாம் மூஸாவுக்கு (தவ்ராத்) வேதத்தைக் கொடுத்தோம் - இன்னும் அவருடன் அவருடைய சகோதரர் ஹாரூனை உதவியாளராகவும் ஏற்படுத்தினோம்.

மேலும், நிச்சயமாக, மூஸாவுக்கு(த் ‘தவ்றாத்’ என்னும்) வேதத்தை நாம் கொடுத்தோம், அவருடன் அவருடைய சகோதரர் ஹாரூனை உதவியாளராகவும் ஆக்கினோம்.

We gave Moses the Scripture and appointed with him his brother Aaron as a helper.

Faqulna ithhaba ila alqawmi allatheena kaththaboo biayatina fadammarnahum tadmeeran

And We said: "Go you both to the people who have denied Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.)." Then We destroyed them with utter destruction.

And We said, "Go both of you to the people who have denied Our signs." Then We destroyed them with [complete] destruction.

அவ்விருவரையும் நோக்கி, "எவர்கள் நம்முடைய அத்தாட்சிகளைப் பொய்யாக்கினார்களோ அவர்களிடம் நீங்கள் இருவரும் செல்லுங்கள்" எனக் கூறினோம். (அவ்வாறு அவர்கள் சென்று அவர்களுக்குக் கூறியதை அந்த மக்கள் நிராகரித்து விட்டதனால்) நாம் அவர்களை அடியோடு அழித்துவிட்டோம்.

ஆகவே நாம், “நீங்கள் இருவரும் நம் அத்தாட்சிகளைப் பொய்ப்பித்தார்களே அக்கூட்டத்தாரிடம் செல்லுங்கள்” என்று கூறினோம். பின்னர், அ(வ்வாறு பொய்ப்பித்த)வர்களை முற்றும் அழித்தோம்.

ஆகவே நாம், “நீங்கள் இருவரும் நம்முடைய அத்தாட்சிகளைப் பொய்யாக்கினார்களே அத்தகைய சமூகத்தாரிடம் செல்லுங்கள்” எனக் கூறினோம், பின்னர், (அவ்விருவரையும் விசுவாசம் கொள்ளாத) அவர்களை நாம் அடியோடு அழித்துவிட்டோம்.

We said, “Go, both of you, to the people who have rejected Our signs.” Then We destroyed them utterly.

Waqawma noohin lamma kaththaboo alrrusula aghraqnahum wajaAAalnahum lilnnasi ayatan waaAAtadna lilththalimeena AAathaban aleeman

And Nûh's (Noah's) people, when they denied the Messengers, We drowned them, and We made them as a sign for mankind. And We have prepared a painful torment for the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong doers).

And the people of Noah - when they denied the messengers, We drowned them, and We made them for mankind a sign. And We have prepared for the wrongdoers a painful punishment.

நூஹ்வுடைய மக்கள் (நம்) தூதர்களைப் பொய்யாக்கிய சமயத்தில் அவர்களையும் மூழ்கடித்து, அவர்களை மனிதர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் ஓர் அத்தாட்சியாக ஆக்கினோம். இத்தகைய அநியாயக்காரர்களுக்குத் துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையையே நாம் தயார்படுத்தி வைத்திருக்கின்றோம்.

இன்னும்: நூஹின் சமூகத்தவர் அவர்கள் (நம்) தூதர்களைப் பொய்யாக்கிய போது, நாம் அவர்களை மூழ்கடித்தோம்; அவர்களை மனிதர்களுக்கு ஓர் அத்தாட்சியாகவும் ஆக்கிவைத்தோம்; மேலும் அநியாயக் காரர்களுக்கு நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனையை நாம் சித்தப்படுத்தி இருக்கிறோம்.

இன்னும், (நபி) நூஹ்வுடைய சமூகத்தாரை – அவர்கள் (நம்) தூதர்களைப் பொய்யாக்கியபோது அவர்களை மூழ்கடித்தோம், அவர்களை மனிதர்களுக்கு ஓர் அத்தாட்சியாகவும் ஆக்கினோம், இன்னும், அநியாயக்காரர்களுக்குத் துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையை நாம் தயாராக்கி வைத்திருக்கிறோம்.

Also the people of Noah, when they rejected the messengers, We drowned them and made them an example for mankind. And We have prepared for the wrongdoers a painful punishment.

WaAAadan wathamooda waashaba alrrassi waquroonan bayna thalika katheeran

And (also) 'آd and Thamûd, and the dwellers of Ar-Rass, and many generations in between.

And [We destroyed] 'Aad and Thamud and the companions of the well and many generations between them.

ஆது, ஸமூது மக்களையும், றஸ் (அகழ்) வாசிகளையும், இவர்களுக்கிடையில் இன்னும் பல வகுப்பினரையும் (நாம் அழித்திருக்கிறோம்.)

இன்னும் “ஆது” “ஸமூது” (கூட்டத்தாரையும்), ரஸ் (கிணறு) வாசிகளையும், இவர்களுக்கிடையில் இன்னும் அநேக தலைமுறையினரையும் (நாம் தண்டித்தோம்).

ஆ(துக்கூட்டத்)தையும், ஸமூ(துக் கூட்டத்)தையும், ரஸ் (கிணறு) வாசிகளையும் இவர்களுக்கிடையில் இன்னும் அநேக தலைமுறையினர்களையும் (நாம் அழித்துவிட்டோம்)

Also [We destroyed] ‘Ād and Thamūd, and the people of the Well, and many generations between them.

Wakullan darabna lahu alamthala wakullan tabbarna tatbeeran

And for each (of them) We put forward examples (as proofs and lessons), and each (of them) We brought to utter ruin (because of their disbelief and evil deeds).

And for each We presented examples [as warnings], and each We destroyed with [total] destruction.

(அவர்கள் நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெறும் பொருட்டு அழிந்துபோன முன்னிருந்தவர்களின் சரித்திரங்களை) அவர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் நாம் பல உதாரணங்களாகக் கூறினோம். (அவர்கள் அவைகளை நிராகரித்து விடவே,) அவர்கள் அனைவரையும் நாம் அடியோடு அழித்துவிட்டோம்.

அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் நாம் தெளிவான சான்றுகளை தெளிவுபடுத்தினோம். மேலும் (அவர்கள் அவைகளை நிராகரித்ததினால்) அவர்கள் அனைவரையும் முற்றாக அழித்தோம்.

ஓவ்வொருவருக்கும் (நாம் தெளிவான சான்றுகளைக் கொடுத்து) அவ(ரவ)ருக்குரிய பல உதாரணங்களையும் கூறினோம், (அவைகளை ஏற்காது மறுத்துவிட்ட) ஒவ்வொருவரையும் நாம் அடியோடு அழித்துவிட்டோம்.

To each We gave examples [of the previous nations], and each We destroyed completely.

Walaqad ataw AAala alqaryati allatee omtirat matara alssawi afalam yakoonoo yarawnaha bal kanoo la yarjoona nushooran

And indeed they have passed by the town [of Prophet Lût (Lot)] on which was rained the evil rain. Did they (disbelievers) not then see it (with their own eyes)? Nay! But they used not to expect any resurrection.

And they have already come upon the town which was showered with a rain of evil. So have they not seen it? But they are not expecting resurrection.

நிச்சயமாக (மக்காவிலுள்ள காஃபிர்கள்) கெட்ட (கல்) மாரி பொழிந்த ஊரின் சமீபமாக (அடிக்கடி)ச் சென்றே இருக்கின்றனர். அதனை இவர்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா? உண்மையில் இவர்கள் (மறுமையில்) உயிர் கொடுத்து எழுப்பப்படுவதை நம்பவேயில்லை.

இன்னும்: நிச்சயமாக இ(ந்நிராகரிப்ப)வர்கள் ஒரு தீமையான (கல்) மாரி பொழிவிக்கப்பட்ட ஊருக்குச் சென்றிருக்கிறார்கள் - அதனையும் இவர்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா? எனினும் (மரணத்திற்குப் பின் உயிர் கொடுத்து) எழுப்பப்படுவதை இவர்கள் நம்பவேயில்லை.

நிச்சயமாக (மக்கத்துக் காஃபிர்களான) இவர்கள், தீய (கல்மாரி) மழை பொழிவிக்கப்பட்டிருந்ததே அத்தகைய ஊருக்கு (ச் சென்று) வந்திருக்கிறார்கள், அதை அவர்கள் பார்த்திருக்கவில்லையா? எனினும், (மரணத்திற்குப்பின் உயிர் கொடுத்து) எழுப்பப்படுவதை அவர்கள் நம்பாதவர்களாக இருந்தனர்.

They have surely passed by the town that was destroyed by a terrible rain [of stones]. Have they not seen it? But they do not expect to be resurrected.

Waitha raawka in yattakhithoonaka illa huzuwan ahatha allathee baAAatha Allahu rasoolan

And when they see you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]), they treat you only in mockery (saying): "Is this the one whom Allâh has sent as a Messenger?

And when they see you, [O Muhammad], they take you not except in ridicule, [saying], "Is this the one whom Allah has sent as a messenger?

(நபியே!) இவர்கள் உங்களைக் கண்டால் உங்களைப் பற்றி "இவரையா அல்லாஹ் (தன்னுடைய) தூதராக அனுப்பி வைத்தான்?" என்று பரிகாசமாகக் கூறுகின்றனர்.

“இவரைத்தானா அல்லாஹ் தூதராக அனுப்பியிருக்கிறான்” (என்று கூறி) உம்மை அவர்கள் காணும் பொழுது உம்மைக் கேலிக்குரியவராக அவர்கள் கருதுகின்றனர்.

மேலும், (நபியே!) அவர்கள் உம்மைப் பார்த்துவிட்டால், பரிகாசமாகவே தவிர அவர்கள் உம்மை எடுத்துக் கொள்வதில்லை, “அல்லாஹ் (தன்னுடைய) தூதராக அனுப்பினானே அத்தகையவர்தானா இவர்?” (என்று கூறுகின்றனர்).

When they see you [O Prophet], they only ridicule you, “Is this the one whom Allah has sent as a messenger?

In kada layudilluna AAan alihatina lawla an sabarna AAalayha wasawfa yaAAlamoona heena yarawna alAAathaba man adallu sabeelan

"He would have nearly misled us from our âlihah (gods), had it not been that we were patient and constant in their worship!" And they will know, when they see the torment, who it is that is most astray from the (Right) Path!

He almost would have misled us from our gods had we not been steadfast in [worship of] them." But they are going to know, when they see the punishment, who is farthest astray in [his] way.

(அன்றி) "நாம் உறுதியாக இல்லையென்றால், நம்முடைய தெய்வங்களை விட்டும் நம்மை இவர் வழிகெடுத்தே இருப்பார்" (என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர். மறுமையில்) அவர்கள் வேதனையைத் தங்கள் கண்ணால் காணும் நேரத்தில் வழி கெட்டவர்கள் யார் என்பதை நன்கறிந்து கொள்வார்கள்.

“நாம் (நம் தெய்வங்களின் மீது) உறுதியாக இல்லாதிருந்தால், நம்முடைய தெய்வங்களை விட்டும் திருப்பி நம்மை இவர் வழி கெடுத்தேயிருப்பார்” (என்றும் அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர்; (மறுமையின்) வேதனையை அவர்கள் காணும்பொழுது, பாதையால் மிக வழிகெட்டவர்கள் யார் என்பதை நன்கறிந்து கொள்வார்கள்.

(தெய்வங்களாகிய) அவற்றின் மீது நாம் உறுதியாக இல்லாதிருந்தால், நம்முடைய (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) தெய்வங்களை விட்டும் திரும்பி நம்மை இவர் வழிகெடுக்க சமீபித்து இருப்பார் (என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர். மறுமையில்) அவர்கள் வேதனையைக் கண்ணால் காணும் நேரத்தில், பாதையால் மிக வழிகெட்டவர்கள் யார் என்பதை நன்கறிந்து கொள்வார்கள்.

He would have almost led us astray from our gods, if we had not been so devoted to them.” But when they see the punishment, they will come to know who is further astray from the right way.

Araayta mani ittakhatha ilahahu hawahu afaanta takoonu AAalayhi wakeelan

Have you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) seen him who has taken as his ilâh (god) his own vain desire? Would you then be a Wakîl (a disposer of his affairs or a watcher) over him?

Have you seen the one who takes as his god his own desire? Then would you be responsible for him?

(நபியே!) எவன் தன் சரீர இச்சையை(த் தான் பின்பற்றும்) தன்னுடைய தெய்வமாக எடுத்துக்கொண்டானோ அவனை நீங்கள் பார்த்தீர்களா? (அவன் வழி தவறாது) நீங்கள் அவனுக்குப் பாதுகாப்பாளராக இருப்பீர்களா?

தன் (இழிவான) இச்சையையே தன் தெய்வமாக எடுத்துக் கொண்டவனை (நபியே!) நீர் பார்த்தீரா? அ(த்தகைய)வனுக்கு நீர் பாதுகாவலராக இருப்பீரா?

(நபியே!) தன் மனோ இச்சையைத் தன் (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) தெய்வமாக எடுத்துக் கொண்டவனை நீர் பார்த்தீரா? நீர் அவனுக்குப் பாதுகாப்பாளராக இருப்பீரா?

Have you [O Prophet] seen the one who takes his desire as his god, will you then be a keeper over him?

Am tahsabu anna aktharahum yasmaAAoona aw yaAAqiloona in hum illa kaalanAAami bal hum adallu sabeelan

Or do you think that most of them hear or understand? They are only like cattle – nay, they are even farther astray from the Path (i.e. even worse than cattle).

Or do you think that most of them hear or reason? They are not except like livestock. Rather, they are [even] more astray in [their] way.

அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலானவர்கள் (உங்களுடைய வார்த்தைகளைக் காதால்) கேட்கிறார்கள் என்றோ அல்லது அதனை(த் தங்கள் மனதால்) உணர்ந்து பார்க்கின்றார்களென்றோ நீங்கள் எண்ணிக் கொண்டீர்களா? அன்று! அவர்கள் மிருகங்களைப் போன்றவர்களே அன்றி வேறில்லை. பின்னும், (மிருகங்களை விட) மிகவும் வழிகெட்டவர்களாகவும் இருக்கின்றனர்.

அல்லது, நிச்சயமாக அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் (உம் உபதேசத்தைக்) கேட்கிறார்கள்; அல்லது அறிந்துணர்கிறார்கள் என்று நீர் நினைக்கின்றீரா? அவர்கள் கால்நடைகளைப் போன்றவர்களேயன்றி வேறில்லை-அல்ல; (அவற்றை விடவும்) அவர்கள், மிகவும் வழி கெட்டவர்கள்.  

அல்லது, நிச்சயமாக அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் (உம்முடைய கூற்றை) கேட்கின்றார்கள் என்றோ, அல்லது அதனை விளங்கிக் கொள்கிறார்கள் என்றோ நீர் எண்ணிக் கொண்டீரா? அவர்கள் (ஆடு, மாடு, ஒட்டகங்கள் ஆகிய) கால்நடைகளைப் போன்றவர்களேயன்றி வேறில்லை, அல்ல, (அவற்றைவிட) அவர்கள் பாதையால் மிக வழிதவறியவர்கள்.

Do you think that most of them hear or understand? They are just like livestock, rather they are further astray from the right way.

Alam tara ila rabbika kayfa madda alththilla walaw shaa lajaAAalahu sakinan thumma jaAAalna alshshamsa AAalayhi daleelan

Have you not seen how your Lord spread the shadow. If He willed, He could have made it still – but We have made the sun its guide (i.e. after the sunrise, the shadow shrinks and vanishes at midnoon and then again appears in the afternoon with the decline of the sun, and had there been no sunlight, there would have been no shadow).

Have you not considered your Lord - how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun for it an indication.

(நபியே!) உங்கள் இறைவன் நிழலை எவ்வாறு (குறைத்து, பின்பு அதை) நீட்டுகின்றான் என்பதை நீங்கள் கவனிக்க வில்லையா? அவன் நாடியிருந்தால், அதனை ஒரே நிலையில் வைத்திருக்க முடியும். சூரியனை நிழலுக்கு வழிகாட்டியாக நாம்தான் ஆக்கினோம்.

(நபியே!) உம்முடைய இறைவன் நிழலை எப்படி நீட்டுகின்றான் என்பதை நீர் பார்க்கவில்லையா? மேலும் அவன் நாடினால் அதனை (ஒரே நிலையில்) அசைவற்றிருக்கச் செய்ய முடியும். (நபியே!) பின்னர் சூரியனை - நாம் தாம் நிழலுக்கு ஆதாரமாக ஆக்கினோம்.

(நபியே!) உம் இரட்சகனின் பக்கம் - நிழலை அவன் எவ்வாறு நீட்டுகிறான் என்பதை நீர் பார்க்கவில்லையா? அவன் நாடியிருந்தால் அதனை நிலைபெற்றதாகவும் ஆக்கிவிடுவான், பிறகு சூரியனை (நிழலாகிய) அதற்கு ஆதாரமாக நாம் ஆக்கினோம்.

Do you not see how your Lord extends the shade? If He had willed, He could have made it still. Then We made the sun an indication for it.

Thumma qabadnahu ilayna qabdan yaseeran

Then We withdraw it to Us – a gradual concealed withdrawal.

Then We hold it in hand for a brief grasp.

பின்னர் நாம்தான் அதனை சிறுகச் சிறுகக் குறைத்து விடுகின்றோம்.

பிறகு, நாம் அதனைச் சிறுகச் சிறுக (குறைத்து) நம்மிடம் கைப்பற்றிக் கொள்கிறோம்.

பின்னர், நாம் அதனைச் சிறுகச் சிறுக குறைத்து நம்மளவில் அதைக் கைப்பற்றிக் கொள்கிறோம்.

Then We gradually draw it towards Us [as the sun climbs up]?

Wahuwa allathee jaAAala lakumu allayla libasan waalnnawma subatan wajaAAala alnnahara nushooran

And it is He Who makes the night a covering for you, and the sleep (as) a repose, and makes the day Nushûr (i.e. getting up and going about here and there for daily work, after one's sleep at night or like resurrection after one's death).

And it is He who has made the night for you as clothing and sleep [a means for] rest and has made the day a resurrection.

அவன்தான் உங்களுக்கு இரவைப் போர்வையாகவும், ஓய்வளிக்கக் கூடியதாகவும், பகலை (உங்கள்) நடமாட்டத்திற்காக (பிரகாசமாக)வும் ஆக்கினான்.

அவன்தான் உங்களுக்கு இரவை ஆடையாகவும், நித்திரையை இளைப்பாறுதலாகவும் ஆக்கியிருக்கின்றான்; இன்னும், அவனே பகலை உழைப்பிற்கு ஏற்றவாறு ஆக்கியிருக்கிறான்.

இன்னும், அவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால் உங்களுக்கு இரவை ஆடையாகவும், நித்திரையை இளைப்பாறுதலாகவும் ஆக்கினான், பகலை (நீங்கள் தூக்கத்திலிருந்து) மீண்டெழு(ந்து வாழ்க்கைக்குரியவற்றை பூமியின் பல பாகங்களிலும் தேடிக் கொள்)வதற்காகவும் ஆக்கினான்.

It is He Who has made the night as a garment for you, and made sleep for rest; and has made daytime for returning to life.

Wahuwa allathee arsala alrriyaha bushran bayna yaday rahmatihi waanzalna mina alssamai maan tahooran

And it is He Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain); and We send down pure water from the sky,

And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy, and We send down from the sky pure water

அவன்தான் மழைக்கு முன்னதாக (குளிர்ந்த) காற்றை நற்செய்தியாக அனுப்பி வைக்கின்றான். (மனிதர்களே!) நாம்தான் மேகத்திலிருந்து பரிசுத்தமான நீரை பொழியச் செய்கின்றோம்.

இன்னும், அவன்தான் தன்னுடைய கிருபை (மழை)க்கு முன்னே காற்றுகளை நன்மாராயமாக அனுப்பி வைக்கின்றான்; மேலும், (நபியே!) நாமே வானத்திலிருந்து தூய்மையான நீரையும் இறக்கி வைக்கிறோம்.

மேலும், அவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால், (மழை எனும்) தன் அருளுக்கு முன்னதாகக் (குளிர்ந்த) காற்றுகளை நன்மாராயமாக அனுப்பி வைக்கின்றான், (மனிதர்களே!) நாம் தாம் வானத்திலிருந்து பரிசுத்தமான நீரை இறக்கியும் வைக்கிறோம்.

It is He Who sends the winds as harbingers before His mercy, and We send down from the sky pure water,

Linuhyiya bihi baldatan maytan wanusqiyahu mimma khalaqna anAAaman waanasiyya katheeran

That We may give life thereby to a dead land, and We give to drink thereof many of the cattle and men that We have created.

That We may bring to life thereby a dead land and give it as drink to those We created of numerous livestock and men.

அதனைக்கொண்டு இறந்த பூமிக்கு நாம் உயிர் கொடுத்து நம்முடைய படைப்புகளில் ஆடு, மாடு, ஒட்டகம் போன்ற உயிரினங்களுக்கும் பல மனிதர்களுக்கும் அதனைப் புகட்டுகின்றோம்.

இறந்து போன பூமிக்கு அதனால் உயிர் அளிக்கிறோம்; நாம் படைத்துள்ளவற்றிலிருந்து கால் நடைகளுக்கும், ஏராளமான மனிதர்களுக்கும் அதை பருகும்படிச் செய்கிறோம்.

அதனைக் கொண்டு இறந்த பூமியை நாம் உயிர்ப்பிப்பதற்காகவும், நாம் படைத்தவற்றில் (ஆடு, மாடு, ஒட்டகம் போன்று) கால்நடைகளுக்கும், அநேக மனிதர்களுக்கும் அதனைப் புகட்டுவதற்காகவும் (நீரை இறக்கி வைக்கிறோம்).

so that We may revive therewith a dead land, and quench the thirst of countless beasts and humans We have created.

Walaqad sarrafnahu baynahum liyaththakkaroo faaba aktharu alnnasi illa kufooran

And indeed We have distributed it (rain or water) amongst them in order that they may remember the Grace of Allâh, but most men (refuse to accept the Truth or Faith and) accept nothing but disbelief or ingratitude.

And We have certainly distributed it among them that they might be reminded, but most of the people refuse except disbelief.

அவர்கள் நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெறும் பொருட்டு இவ்விஷயத்தைப் பலவாறாக அவர்களுக்கு எடுத்துரைத்தோம். எனினும், மனிதர்களில் பெரும்பாலானவர்கள் மிக்க நன்றி கெட்டவர்களாகவே இருக்கின்றனர்.

அவர்கள் படிப்பினை பெறுவதற்காக அவர்களுக்கு இதனை (குர்ஆனை) நாம் தெளிவு படுத்துகிறோம். மனிதர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் நிராகரிப்போராகவே இருக்கின்றனர்.

திட்டமாக நாம் (நம் அருட்கொடைகளை) அவர்கள் நினைவு கூர்வதற்காக (மழையான)அதை அவர்களுக்கிடையில் (தேவைக்குத் தக்க) பங்கீடு செய்தோம், (ஆனால்) மனிதர்களில் அதிகமானவர்கள் நிராகரிப்பைத் தவிர (வேறு எதையும்) ஏற்பதில்லை.

We distribute it among them so that they may take heed, but most people persist in their ingratitude.

Walaw shina labaAAathna fee kulli qaryatin natheeran

And had We willed, We would have raised a warner in every town.

And if We had willed, We could have sent into every city a warner.

நாம் நாடியிருந்தால் ஒவ்வொரு ஊருக்கும் அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்யக்கூடிய ஒவ்வொரு தூதரை (இன்றைய தினமும்) நாம் அனுப்பியே இருப்போம்.

மேலும், நாம் நாடியிருந்தால், ஒவ்வொரு ஊரிலும், அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கும் ஒருவரை நாம் அனுப்பியிருப்போம்.

மேலும், நாம் நாடியிருந்தால் ஒவ்வொரு ஊரிலும், அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்யக்கூடியவரை, திட்டமாக நாம் அனுப்பியிருப்போம்.

If We had willed, We could have sent to each town a warner.

Fala tutiAAi alkafireena wajahidhum bihi jihadan kabeeran

So obey not the disbelievers, but strive against them (by preaching) with the utmost endeavour with it (the Qur'ân).

So do not obey the disbelievers, and strive against them with the Qur'an a great striving.

ஆகவே, (நபியே!) நீங்கள் இந்த நன்றிகெட்டவர்களுக்கு கட்டுப்படாதீர்கள். இந்தக் குர்ஆனை (ஆதாரமாக) கொண்டு நீங்கள் அவர்களிடத்தில் போராடுவீராக!

ஆகவே, (நபியே!) நீர் இந்த காஃபிர்களுக்கு வழிபடாதீர்; இதன் மூலம் (குர்ஆன் மூலம்) அவர்களுடன் பெரும் போராட்டத்தை மேற்கொள்வீராக.

ஆகவே, நீர் நிராகரிப்போருக்கு (நபியே!) கீழ்ப்படியாதீர், அன்றி (குர் ஆனாகிய) இதனை (சான்றாக)க் கொண்டு, நீர் அவர்களுடன் பலமாகப் போராடுவீராக.

So do not obey the disbelievers, but strive against them with this [Qur’an] a great striving.

Wahuwa allathee maraja albahrayni hatha AAathbun furatun wahatha milhun ojajun wajaAAala baynahuma barzakhan wahijran mahjooran

And it is He Who has let free the two seas (kinds of water), this is palatable and sweet, and that is salt and bitter; and He has set a barrier and a complete partition between them.

And it is He who has released [simultaneously] the two seas, one fresh and sweet and one salty and bitter, and He placed between them a barrier and prohibiting partition.

அவன்தான் இரு கடல்களையும் ஒன்று சேர்த்திருக்கின்றான். ஒன்று, மிக்க இன்பமும் மதுரமுமான தண்ணீர். மற்றொன்று, உப்பும் கசப்புமான தண்ணீர். (இவை ஒன்றோடொன்று கலந்து விடாதிருக்கும் பொருட்டு) இவ்விரண்டுக்கும் இடையில் திரையையும், மீற முடியாத ஒரு தடையையும் ஏற்படுத்தி இருக்கின்றான்.

அவன்தான் இரு கடல்களையும் ஒன்று சேர்த்தான்; ஒன்று, மிக்க இனிமையும் சுவையுமுள்ளது; மற்றொன்று உப்பும் கசப்புமானது - இவ்விரண்டிற்குமிடையே வரம்பையும், மீற முடியாத ஒரு தடையையும் ஏற்படுத்தியிருக்கிறான்.

இன்னும் அவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால், இரு கடல்களையும் அவன் ஒன்று சேர்த்திருக்கின்றான், (அதில் ஒன்றான) இது மிக்க மதுரமானது, தாகம் தீர்க்கக் கூடியது, (அதில் மற்றொன்றான) இது உப்புக்கரிப்பானது கசப்பானது, இவ்விரண்டிற்கிடையில் (அவை ஒன்றோடொன்று கலந்திடாமல்) திரையையும், மீற முடியாத ஒரு தடையையும் அவன் ஆக்கியிருக்கின்றான்.

It is He Who merges the two bodies of water: one fresh and palatable and the other salty and bitter, and He has made between them a barrier and an insurmountable partition.

Wahuwa allathee khalaqa mina almai basharan fajaAAalahu nasaban wasihran wakana rabbuka qadeeran

And it is He Who has created man from water, and has appointed for him kindred by blood, and kindred by marriage. And your Lord is Ever All-Powerful to do what He wills.

And it is He who has created from water a human being and made him [a relative by] lineage and marriage. And ever is your Lord competent [concerning creation].

அவன்தான் (ஒரு துளி) தண்ணீரிலிருந்து மனிதனை உற்பத்தி செய்கின்றான். பின்னர், அவனுக்குச் சந்ததிகளையும் சம்பந்திகளையும் ஆக்குகின்றான். (நபியே!) உங்கள் இறைவன் (தான் விரும்பியவாறெல்லாம் செய்ய) ஆற்றலுடையவனாகவே இருக்கின்றான்.

இன்னும் அவன்தான் மனிதனை நீரிலிருந்து படைத்து, பின்னர் அவனுக்கு வம்சத்தையும், சம்பந்தங்களையும் ஏற்படுத்துகிறான்; மேலும் உம்முடைய இறைவன் பேராற்றலுள்ளவன்.

இன்னும் அவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால், மனிதனை (ஒரு துளி) நீரிலிருந்து படைத்தான். பின்னர் அவனுக்கு வம்சாவழியையும் (அதன் மூலம் ஏற்படும் உறவையும் திருமணம் மூலம் ஏற்படும்) சம்பந்தத்தையும் ஆக்கினான், மேலும், (நபியே!) உம் இரட்சகன் (எவ்வாறும் செய்ய) ஆற்றலுடையோனாக இருக்கின்றான்.

It is He Who created human beings from water, then made between them bonds of kinship and marriage, for your Lord is Most Capable.

WayaAAbudoona min dooni Allahi ma la yanfaAAuhum wala yadurruhum wakana alkafiru AAala rabbihi thaheeran

And they (disbelievers, polytheists) worship besides Allâh, that which can neither profit them nor harm them; and the disbeliever is ever a helper (of Satan) against his Lord.

But they worship rather than Allah that which does not benefit them or harm them, and the disbeliever is ever, against his Lord, an assistant [to Satan].

இவ்வாறிருந்தும் அவர்களோ தங்களுக்கு யாதொரு நன்மையும், தீமையும் செய்ய சக்தியற்ற அல்லாஹ் அல்லாத வைகளை வணங்குகின்றனர். இந்நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் தங்கள் இறைவனுக்கே விரோதமாக இருக்கின்றனர்.

இவ்வாறிருந்தும், அவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வை அன்றி தங்களுக்கு நன்மை செய்யவோ, தீமையை செய்யவோ இயலாதவற்றை வணங்குகின்றனர்; நிராகரிப்பவன் தன் இறைவனுக்கு எதிராக (தீய சக்திகளுக்கு) உதவி செய்பவனாகவே இருக்கிறான்.

மேலும், அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி தங்களுக்கு பலன்தராதவற்றையும், தங்களுக்கு இடர் செய்யாதவற்றையும் இணைவைப்பவர்களான அவர்கள் வணங்குகின்றனர், நிராகரிப்பவன் தன் இறைவனுக்கு விரோதமாக (ஷைத்தானுக்கு) உதவுபவனாக இருக்கின்றான்.

Yet they worship besides Allah that which can neither benefit nor harm them; the disbeliever always collaborates against his Lord.

Wama arsalnaka illa mubashshiran wanatheeran

And We have sent you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) only as a bearer of glad tidings and a warner.

And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a bringer of good tidings and a warner.

(நபியே!) நற்செய்தி கூறுபவராகவும், அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவராகவுமே அன்றி உங்களை நாம் அனுப்பவில்லை.

இன்னும் (நபியே!) நாம் உம்மை நன்மாராயங் கூறுபவராகவும், அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவராகவுமே அல்லாமல் அனுப்பவில்லை.

மேலும், நன்மாராயங்கூறுபவராகவும், அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவராகவுமே தவிர (நபியே!) உம்மை நாம் அனுப்பவில்லை.

We have not sent you [O Prophet] except as a bearer of glad tidings and a warner.

Qul ma asalukum AAalayhi min ajrin illa man shaa an yattakhitha ila rabbihi sabeelan

Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this (that which I have brought from my Lord and its preaching), except that whosoever wills, may take a Path to his Lord."

Say, "I do not ask of you for it any payment - only that whoever wills might take to his Lord a way."

(அவர்களை நோக்கி) "இதற்காக நான் உங்களிடம் யாதொரு கூலியையும் கேட்கவில்லை. ஆயினும், எவன் தன் இறைவனின் வழியில் செல்ல விரும்புகின்றானோ அவன் செல்வதை (நீங்கள் தடை செய்யாமல் இருப்பதை)யே (நான் உங்களிடம்) விரும்புகின்றேன்" என்று (நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்.

“அதற்காக நான் உங்களிடம் எந்தக் கூலியையும் கேட்கவில்லை - விருப்பமுள்ளவர் தம் இறைவனிடத்து(ச் செல்ல) நேர் வழியை ஏற்படுத்திக் கொள்ளட்டும் என்பதைத் தவிர” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்.

இதன்மீது எந்தக் கூலியையும் உங்களிடம் நான் கேட்கவில்லை, தன் இரட்சகனின் பக்கம் (செல்லும்) வழியை எடுத்துக்கொள்ள நாடுகிறவரைத்தவிர (மற்ற யாவரும் நஷ்டத்தில் உள்ளனர்) என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக!

Say, “I do not ask you for any reward for it, except that anyone who wishes to take a path to his Lord.”

Watawakkal AAala alhayyi allathee la yamootu wasabbih bihamdihi wakafa bihi bithunoobi AAibadihi khabeeran

And put your trust (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) in the Ever Living One Who dies not, and glorify His Praises, and Sufficient is He as the All-Knower of the sins of His slaves,

And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die, and exalt [Allah] with His praise. And sufficient is He to be, with the sins of His servants, Acquainted -

(அன்றி) மரணமற்ற என்றும் நிரந்தரமான அல்லாஹ்வையே நீங்கள் நம்புங்கள். அவனுடைய புகழைக் கூறி அவனைத் துதி செய்து கொண்டிருங்கள். அவன் தன் அடியார்களின் பாவங்களை அறிந்திருப்பதே போதுமானது. (அதற்குரிய தண்டனையை அவன் கொடுப்பான்.)

எனவே மரிக்கமாட்டானே அந்த நித்திய ஜீவ(னாகிய அல்லாஹ்வி)ன் மீதே முற்றிலும் நம்பிக்கை வைப்பீராக. இன்னும் அவன் புகழைக் கொண்டு (அவனைத்) துதி செய்து கொண்டிருப்பீராக; இன்னும் அவன் தன் அடியார்களின் பாவங்களை அறிந்தவனாக இருப்பதே போதுமானதாகும்.

இறந்து விடமாட்டானே அத்தகைய உயிருள்ளவனின் மீது (உமது காரியங்களை ஒப்படைத்து அவன் மீது முழு) நம்பிக்கையும் வைப்பீராக! இன்னும், அவனின் புகழைக் கொண்டு (அவனைத்) துதி செய்வீராக! இன்னும் அவன் தன் அடியார்களின் பாவங்களை நன்குணர்ந்திருப்பது அவனுக்குப் போதுமானதாகும்.

Put your trust in the Ever-Living Who never dies, and glorify Him with praise. He is Sufficient as All-Aware of the sins of His slaves –

Allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma fee sittati ayyamin thumma istawa AAala alAAarshi alrrahmanu faisal bihi khabeeran

Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six Days. Then He rose over (Istawâ) the Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). The Most Gracious (Allâh)! Ask Him (O Prophet Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam], concerning His Qualities: His rising over His Throne, His creations), as He is Khabîr (Well-Acquainted with everything, i.e. Allâh).

He who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days and then established Himself above the Throne - the Most Merciful, so ask about Him one well informed.

அவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால் வானங்களையும், பூமியையும், இவைகளுக்கு மத்தியில் உள்ளவைகளையும் ஆறு நாள்களில் படைத்தான். பின்னர், அவன் "அர்ஷின்" மீது (தன் மகிமைக்குத் தக்கவாறு) உயர்ந்து விட்டான். அவன்தான் ரஹ்மான். (ரஹ்மான் எனப்படுபவனும் அல்லாஹ் எனப்படுபவனும் ஒருவனே.) இதைப் பற்றித் தெரிந்தவர்களைக் கேட்டறிந்து கொள்ளுங்கள்.

அவனே வானங்களையும், பூமியையும், அவற்றிற்கிடையிலுள்ளவற்றையும் ஆறு நாட்களில் படைத்தான்; பின்னர் அவன் அர்ஷின் மீது அமைந்தான்; (அவன் தான் அருள் மிக்க) அர்ரஹ்மான்; ஆகவே, அறிந்தவர்களிடம் அவனைப் பற்றிக் கேட்பீராக.

அவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால், வானங்களையும், பூமியையும் இவையிரண்டுக் கிடையிலுள்ளவைகளையும் ஆறு நாட்களில் அவன் படைத்தான், பின்னர் (தன் கண்ணியத்திற்குத் தக்கவாறும், மகத்துவத்திற்குரியவாறும் அர்ஷின் மீதிருப்பது அவனுக்கு எவ்வாறு தகுமோ அவ்வாறே) அவன் அர்ஷின் மீது உயர்ந்து (நிலைபெற்று) விட்டான், அவன்தான் (பேரருளாளனாகிய) அர்ரஹ்மான், அவனைப்பற்றி நன்கு தெரிந்தவரைக் கேட்பீராக!

it is He Who created the heavens and earth and all that is between them in six Days, then rose over the Throne. He is the Most Compassionate, so ask about Him the One Who is All-Aware.

Waitha qeela lahumu osjudoo lilrrahmani qaloo wama alrrahmanu anasjudu lima tamuruna wazadahum nufooran

And when it is said to them: "Prostrate yourselves to the Most Gracious (Allâh)!" They say: "And what is the Most Gracious? Shall we fall down in prostration to that which you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) command us?" And it increases in them only aversion.

And when it is said to them, "Prostrate to the Most Merciful," they say, "And what is the Most Merciful? Should we prostrate to that which you order us?" And it increases them in aversion.

(ஆகவே,) அந்த ரஹ்மானைச் சிரம் பணிந்து வணங்குங்கள் என அவர்களுக்குக் கூறப்பட்டால், அவர்களுக்கு வெறுப்பு அதிகரித்து "ரஹ்மான் யார்? நீங்கள் கூறியவைகளுக்கெல்லாம் நாம் சிரம் பணிந்து வணங்குவதா?" என்று கேட்கின்றனர்.

“இன்னும் அர்ரஹ்மானுக்கு நீங்கள் ஸஜ்தா செய்யுங்கள்” என்று அவர்களுக்குக் கூறப்பட்டால் “அர்ரஹ்மான் என்பவன் யார்? நீர் கட்டளையிடக் கூடியவனுக்கு நாங்கள் ஸஜ்தா செய்வோமா?” என்று கேட்கிறார்கள்; இன்னும், இது அவர்களுக்கு வெறுப்பையே அதிகப்படுத்திவிட்டது.

(ஆகவே. மிகக்கிருபையுடையவனாகிய) அர்ரஹ்மானுக்கு சிரம் பணியுங்கள் என அவர்களுக்குக் கூறப்பட்டால், அர்ரஹ்மான் யார்? நீர் கட்டளையிடுபவனுக்கு நாங்கள் சிரம் பணிவோமா? என்று கேட்கின்றனர். (அர்ரஹ்மானுக்கு சிரம் பணியுங்கள் என கூறப்பட்டதாகிய) அது அவர்களுக்கு (மார்க்கத்தின் மீது) வெறுப்பையே அதிகமாக்கியது.

When it is said to them, “Prostrate to the Most Compassionate,” they say, “What is ‘the Most Compassionate?’ Shall we prostrate to what you order us?” And it only increases them in aversion.

Tabaraka allathee jaAAala fee alssamai buroojan wajaAAala feeha sirajan waqamaran muneeran

Blessed is He (Allâh) Who has placed in the heaven big stars, and has placed therein a great lamp (sun), and a moon giving light.

Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon.

(அந்த ரஹ்மான்) மிக்க பாக்கியமுடையவன். அவன்தான் வானத்தில் நட்சத்திரங்களை அமைத்து, அதில் (சூரியனை) ஒளியாகவும், சந்திரனைப் பிரகாசம் தரக்கூடியதாகவும் அமைத்தான்.

வான (மண்டல)த்தில் கோளங்கள் சுழன்று வரும் பாதைகளை உண்டாக்கி, அவற்றிடையே ஒரு விளக்கை (சூரியனை)யும்; ஒளிவான சந்திரனையும் உண்டாக்கினானே அவன் பாக்கியமுள்ளவன்.

வானத்தில் (கோளங்கள் சுழன்று வர) பெரும் தங்குமிடங்களை ஆக்கி, அதில் ஒரு விளக்கை (ப்போன்று சூரியனை)யும், பிரகாசிக்கக்கூடிய சந்திரனையும் அமைத்தானே அத்தகையவன் (-அந்த ரஹ்மான் மிக்க) பாக்கியமுடையவன்.

Blessed is He Who placed in the sky constellations, and placed therein a radiant lamp and a luminous moon.

Wahuwa allathee jaAAala allayla waalnnahara khilfatan liman arada an yaththakkara aw arada shukooran

And He (Allâh) it is Who has put the night and the day in succession, for such who desires to remember or desires to show his gratitude.

And it is He who has made the night and the day in succession for whoever desires to remember or desires gratitude.

அவன்தான் இரவையும், பகலையும் மாறி மாறி வரும்படி செய்திருக்கின்றான். (இதனைக் கொண்டு) எவர்கள் நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெற்று, அவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்த விரும்புகிறார்களோ அவர்களுக்காக (இதைக் கூறுகின்றான்).

இன்னும் சிந்திக்க விரும்புபவருக்கு, அல்லது நன்றி செலுத்த விரும்புபவருக்கு அவன்தான் இரவையும், பகலையும் அடுத்தடுத்து வருமாறு ஆக்கினான்.

இன்னும் அவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால், (அவனது பேராற்றலை) நினைவு கூர நாடியவர்களுக்கு, அல்லது (அவனுக்கு) நன்றி செலுத்த நாடியவர்களுக்கு இரவையும் பகலையும் ஒன்றன் பின் ஒன்றாக (மாறி மாறி) வருமாறு ஆக்கினான்.

It is He Who made the night and the day to follow each other so that everyone who wishes may reflect or become grateful.

WaAAibadu alrrahmani allatheena yamshoona AAala alardi hawnan waitha khatabahumu aljahiloona qaloo salaman

And the (faithful) slaves of the Most Gracious (Allâh) are those who walk on the earth in humility and sedateness, and when the foolish address them (with bad words) they reply back with mild words of gentleness.

And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace,

இவர்கள்தாம், ரஹ்மானுடைய அடியார்கள்: பூமியில் (அடக்கமாகவும்) பணிவாகவும் நடப்பார்கள். மூடர்கள் அவர்களுடன் தர்க்கிக்க முற்பட்டால் "ஸலாமுன்" என்று கூறி (அவர்களை விட்டு விலகி) விடுவார்கள்.

இன்னும் அர்ரஹ்மானுடைய அடியார்கள் (யாரென்றால்) அவர்கள்தாம் பூமியில் பணிவுடன் நடப்பவர்கள்; மூடர்கள் அவர்களுடன் பேசி(வாதா)ட முற்பட்டால் “ஸலாம்” (சாந்தியுண்டாகட்டும் என்று) சொல்லி (விலகிப் போய்) விடுவார்கள்.

இன்னும், அர்ரஹ்மானுடைய அடியார்கள் எத்தகையோரெனில், அவர்கள் பூமியில் பணிவாக நடப்பார்கள், மூடர்கள் அவர்களுடன் (வேண்டாதவற்றைப்) பேச முற்பட்டால், “ஸலாமுன்” (சாந்தி உண்டாகட்டும்) என்று கூறி (அவர்களைவிட்டு விலகி) விடுவார்கள்.

The slaves of the Most Compassionate are those who walk on earth humbly, and when the ignorant address them, they only say words of peace;

Waallatheena yabeetoona lirabbihim sujjadan waqiyaman

And those who spend the night in worship of their Lord, prostrate and standing.

And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer]

அன்றி, அவர்கள் தங்கள் இறைவனை, நின்றவர்களாகவும் சிரம் பணிந்தவர்களாகவும் இரவெல்லாம் வணங்கிக் கொண்டு இருப்பார்கள்.

இன்னும், அவர்கள் தங்கள் இறைவனை ஸஜ்தா செய்தவர்களாகவும், நின்றவர்களாகவும் வழிபாடு செய்து இரவிலிருப்பார்களே அவர்கள்.

இன்னும், அவர்கள் எத்தகையோரெனில், தங்கள் இரட்சகனை சிரம்பணிந்தவர்களாக (ஸஜ்தா செய்தவர்களாக)வும், நின்றவர்களாகவும் (அல்லாஹ்வின் வழிபாட்டில்) இரவைக் கழிப்பார்கள்.

and those who spend the night prostrating and standing before their Lord;

Waallatheena yaqooloona rabbana isrif AAanna AAathaba jahannama inna AAathabaha kana gharaman

And those who say: "Our Lord! Avert from us the torment of Hell. Verily, its torment is ever an inseparable, permanent punishment."

And those who say, "Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering;

தவிர, அவர்கள் "எங்கள் இறைவனே! நரகத்தின் வேதனையை எங்களை விட்டு நீ தடுத்துக் கொள்வாயாக! ஏனென்றால், அதன் வேதனையானது நிச்சயமாக நிலையான துன்பமாகும்" என்று பிரார்த்தனை செய்துகொண்டே இருப்பார்கள்.

“எங்கள் இறைவனே! எங்களைவிட்டும் நரகத்தின் வேதனையைத் திருப்புவாயாக; நிச்சயமாக அதன் வேதனை நிரந்தரமானதாகும்” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

இன்னும், அவர்கள் எத்தகையோரெனில், “எங்கள் இரட்சகனே! நரகத்தின் வேதனையை எங்களை விட்டும் நீர் திருப்பிவிடுவாயாக! ஏனென்றால்,) நிச்சயமாக அதன் வேதனை நிலையானதாகும், என்று (பிரார்த்தனை செய்து) கூறுவார்கள்.

and those who say, “Our Lord, turn the punishment of Hell away from us, for its punishment is unrelenting.”

Innaha saat mustaqarran wamuqaman

Evil indeed it (Hell) is as an abode and as a place to rest in.

Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence."

(அன்றி) "சிறிது நேரமோ அல்லது எப்பொழுதுமோ தங்குவதற்கும் அது மிகக் கெட்ட இடமாகும் (ஆகவே, அதில் இருந்து எங்களை நீ பாதுகாத்துக்கொள்" என்று பிரார்த்திப்பார்கள்).

நிச்சயமாக அது வாழ்வதற்கும் வசிப்பதற்கும் மிகக் கெட்ட இடமாகும்.

“நிச்சயமாக அது நிலையாகத் தங்குமிடத்தாலும், சிறிது நேரம் தங்குமிடத்தாலும் மிகக்கெட்டது.

It is an evil place to settle and an evil abode.”

Waallatheena itha anfaqoo lam yusrifoo walam yaqturoo wakana bayna thalika qawaman

And those who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor niggardly, but hold a medium (way) between those (extremes).

And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between that, [justly] moderate

அன்றி, அவர்கள் தானம் கொடுத்தால் அளவு கடந்தும் கொடுத்துவிட மாட்டார்கள்; கஞ்சத்தனமும் செய்ய மாட்டார்கள். இதற்கு மத்திய தரத்தில் கொடுப்பார்கள்.

இன்னும், அவர்கள் செலவு செய்தால் வீண் விரையம் செய்யமாட்டார்கள்; (உலோபித்தனமாகக்) குறைக்கவும் மாட்டார்கள் - எனினும், இரண்டுக்கும் மத்திய நிலையாக இருப்பார்கள்.

இன்னும், அவர்கள் எத்தகையோரெனில், அவர்கள் செலவு செய்தால், வீண் விரயம் செய்யமாட்டார்கள், (ஒரேயடியாக) சுருக்கிக் கொள்ளவும் மாட்டார்கள், அ(வ்வாறு செலவு செய்வதான)து அவ்விரண்டு நிலைகளுக்கும் மத்தியிலிருக்கும்.

And those who neither spend wastefully nor stingily, but are moderate between them;

Waallatheena la yadAAoona maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara wala yaqtuloona alnnafsa allatee harrama Allahu illa bialhaqqi wala yaznoona waman yafAAal thalika yalqa athaman

And those who invoke not any other ilâh (god) along with Allâh, nor kill such person as Allâh has forbidden, except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse – and whoever does this, shall receive the punishment.

And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty.

தவிர, அவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுடன் வேறொருவரையும் வணக்கத்திற்குரியவனாக அழைக்க மாட்டார்கள். (கொலை செய்யக் கூடாதென்று) அல்லாஹ் தடுத்திருக்கும் எம்மனிதனையும் அவர்கள் நியாயமின்றிக் கொலை செய்ய மாட்டார்கள்; விபசாரமும் செய்ய மாட்டார்கள். ஆகவே, எவனேனும் இத்தகைய தீய காரியங்களைச் செய்ய முற்பட்டால், அவன் (அதற்குரிய) தண்டனையை அடைய வேண்டியதுதான்.

அன்றியும், அவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுடன் வேறு நாயனைப் பிரார்த்திக்கமாட்டார்கள்; இன்னும், அல்லாஹ்வினால் விலக்கப் பட்ட எந்த மனிதரையும் அவர்கள் நியாயமின்றிக் கொல்லமாட்டார்கள், விபசாரமும் செய்ய மாட்டார்கள் - ஆகவே, எவர் இவற்றைச் செய்கிறாரோ, அவர் தண்டனை அடைய நேரிடும்.

இன்னும் அவர்கள் எத்தகையோரெனில், அல்லாஹ்வுடன் வேறொரு நாயனை (வணக்கத்திற்குரியவனாக பிரார்த்தித்து) அழைக்கமாட்டார்கள், அல்லாஹ் தடுத்திருக்கும் எந்த உயிரையும் அவர்கள் உரிமையின்றி கொலை செய்துவிடவுமாட்டார்கள், அவர்கள் விபச்சாரமும் செய்யமாட்டார்கள், எவரேனும் இவைகளைச் செய்ய முற்பட்டால், அவர் (அதற்குரிய) தண்டனையைச் சந்திப்பார்.

and those who do not invoke besides Allah another god, and who do not kill a soul whom Allah has forbidden, except in the course of justice, and who do not commit adultery, for whoever does any of this will face the penalty,

YudaAAaf lahu alAAathabu yawma alqiyamati wayakhlud feehi muhanan

The torment will be doubled to him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in disgrace;

Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated -

மறுமை நாளிலோ அவனுடைய வேதனை இரட்டிப்பாக ஆக்கப்பட்டு இழிவுபட்டவனாக வேதனையில் என்றென்றும் தங்கி விடுவான்.

கியாம நாளில் அவருடைய வேதனை இரட்டிப்பாக்கப்படும்; இன்னும் அதில் இழிவாக்கப்பட்டவராக என்றென்றும் தங்கிவிடுவர்.

மறுமை நாளில் அவருக்கு வேதனை இரட்டிப்பாக்கப்படும், மேலும் இழிவுபடுத்தப்பட்டவராக அதில் என்றென்றும் தங்கிவிடுவார்.

the punishment will be doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection, wherein he will remain disgraced forever,

Illa man taba waamana waAAamila AAamalan salihan faolaika yubaddilu Allahu sayyiatihim hasanatin wakana Allahu ghafooran raheeman

Except those who repent and believe (in Islâmic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds; for those, Allâh will change their sins into good deeds, and Allâh is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allah will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.

ஆயினும், (அவர்களில்) எவர்கள் பாவத்திலிருந்து விலகி (மன்னிப்பு கோரி) நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு நற்செயல்களைச் செய்கிறார்களோ, அத்தகையவர்கள் (முன்னர் செய்துவிட்ட) பாவங்களை அல்லாஹ் (மன்னிப்பது மட்டுமல்ல; அதனை) நன்மையாகவும் மாற்றி விடுகிறான். அல்லாஹ் மிக்க மன்னிப்பவனும் கிருபையுடையவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

ஆனால் (அவர்களில் எவர்) தவ்பா செய்து ஈமானுங் கொண்டு, ஸாலிஹான (நற்) செய்கைகள் செய்கிறார்களோ - அவர்களுடைய பாவங்களை அல்லாஹ் நன்மையாக மாற்றிவிடுவான். மேலும், அல்லாஹ் மிக்க மன்னிப்போனாகவும், மிக்க கிருபையுடையோனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

(இப்பாவங்களிலிருந்து) எவர் தவ்பாச்செய்து, விசுவாசமும் கொண்டு நற்செயலும் செய்தாரோ அவரைத்தவிர, எனவே அத்தகையோர்-அவர்களுடைய தீமைகளை நன்மைகளாக அல்லாஹ் மாற்றிவிடுவான், மேலும் அல்லாஹ் மிக்க மன்னிப்பவனாக, மிகக் கிருபையுடையவனாக இருக்கிறான்.

except those who repent and believe, and do righteous deeds; for them Allah will change their evil deeds into good deeds, for Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Waman taba waAAamila salihan fainnahu yatoobu ila Allahi mataban

And whosoever repents and does righteous good deeds; then verily, he repents towards Allâh with true repentance.

And he who repents and does righteousness does indeed turn to Allah with [accepted] repentance.

ஆகவே, எவர்கள் கைசேதப்பட்டு (பாவத்திலிருந்து) விலகி மன்னிப்புக் கோருவதுடன், நற்செயல்களைச் செய்கிறார்களோ அவர்கள், நிச்சயமாக முற்றிலும் அல்லாஹ்விடமே திரும்பி விடுகின்றனர்.

இன்னும், எவர் தவ்பா செய்து ஸாலிஹான (நற்) செய்கைகள் செய்கின்றாரோ, அவர் நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்விடம் பாவ மன்னிப்புத் தேடியவராவார்.

இன்னும், எவர் தவ்பாச் செய்து, நற்கருமங்களையும் செய்கின்றாரோ அவர், நிச்சயமாக முற்றிலும் அல்லாஹ்வின்பாலே திரும்பிவிடுகின்றார்.

Whoever repents and does righteous deeds has turned to Allah with sincere repentance.

Waallatheena la yashhadoona alzzoora waitha marroo biallaghwi marroo kiraman

And those who do not bear witness to falsehood, and if they pass by some evil play or evil talk, they pass by it with dignity.

And [they are] those who do not testify to falsehood, and when they pass near ill speech, they pass by with dignity.

அன்றி, எவர்கள் பொய் சாட்சி சொல்லாமலும் (வீணான காரியம் நடைபெறும் இடத்திற்குச் செல்லாமலும்) ஒருக்கால் (அத்தகைய இடத்திற்குச்) செல்லும்படி ஏற்பட்டு விட்டபோதிலும் (அதில் சம்பந்தப்படாது) கண்ணியமான முறையில் (அதனைக் கடந்து) சென்று விடுகின்றார்களோ அவர்களும்,

அன்றியும், அவர்கள் பொய் சாட்சி சொல்லமாட்டார்கள்; மேலும், அவர்கள் வீணான காரிய(ம் நடக்கும் இட)த்தின் பக்கம் செல்வார்களாயின் கண்ணியமானவராக (ஒதுங்கிச்) சென்றுவிடுவார்கள்.

இன்னும், அவர்கள் எத்தகையோரென்றால், பொய்சாட்சி சொல்ல மாட்டார்கள், (ஒருகால்) வீணான காரிய(ம் நடக்கும் இட)த்தின் பக்கம் அவர்கள் சென்றுவிட்டால், கண்ணியமானவர்களாக (அதனைவிட்டும் ஒதுங்கிச்) சென்று விடுவார்கள்.

And those who do not witness falsehood, and when they pass by futility, they pass by with dignity;

Waallatheena itha thukkiroo biayati rabbihim lam yakhirroo AAalayha summan waAAumyanan

And those who, when they are reminded of the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord, fall not deaf and blind thereat.

And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf and blind.

இன்னும் எவர்கள் தங்கள் இறைவனின் வசனங்கள் ஓதிக் காண்பிக்கப்பட்டால் குருடர்களைப் போலும் செவிடர்களைப் போலும் அதன் மீது அடித்து விழாமல்; (அதனை முற்றிலும் நன்குணர்ந்து கொள்வதுடன் அதன்படி செயல்படுகிறார்களோ அவர்களும்)

இன்னும் அவர்கள், தங்கள் இறைவனுடைய வசனங்களைக் கொண்டு நினைவூட்டப்பட்டால், செவிடர்களையும், குருடர்களையும் போல் அவற்றின் மீது விழமாட்டார்கள். (சிந்தனையுடன் செவி சாய்ப்பார்கள்.)

இன்னும், அவர்கள் எத்தகையோரென்றால், தங்கள் இரட்சகனின் வசனங்களைக் கொண்டு உபதேசிக்கப்பட்டால் செவிடர்களாகவும், குருடர்களாகவும் அதன் மீது விழமாட்டார்கள் (அதனை நன்குணர்ந்து அதன்படி நடப்பார்கள்).

and those who, when they are reminded with the verses of their Lord, they do not turn a deaf ear or a blind eye to them;

Waallatheena yaqooloona rabbana hab lana min azwajina wathurriyyatina qurrata aAAyunin waijAAalna lilmuttaqeena imaman

And those who say: "Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders of the Muttaqûn (the pious. See V.2:2)."

And those who say, "Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous."

மேலும், எவர்கள் "எங்கள் இறைவனே! எங்கள் மனைவியையும், எங்கள் மக்களையும் எங்களுக்குக் கண் குளிர்ச்சியாக்கி வைத்தருள்வாயாக! அன்றி, பரிசுத்தவான்களுக்கு வழிகாட்டியாகவும் எங்களை நீ ஆக்குவாயாக!" என்று பிரார்த்தித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்களோ அவர்களும்;

மேலும் அவர்கள்: “எங்கள் இறைவா! எங்கள் மனைவியரிடமும், எங்கள் சந்ததியரிடமும் இருந்து எங்களுக்குக் கண்களின் குளிர்ச்சியை அளிப்பாயாக! இன்னும் பயபக்தியுடையவர்களுக்கு எங்களை இமாமாக (வழிகாட்டியாக) ஆக்கியருள்வாயாக! என்று பிரார்த்தனை செய்வார்கள்.

மேலும், அவர்கள் எத்தகையோரென்றால் “எங்கள் இரட்சகனே! எங்கள் மனைவியர்களிடமிருந்தும், எங்கள் சந்ததிகளிலிருந்தும் எங்களுக்குக் கண்களின் குளிர்ச்சியைத் தந்தருள்வாயாக! அன்றியும் பயபக்தியுடையவர்களுக்கு எங்களை (நல்வழியில் நின்று அதன்பால் அழிக்கும்) வழிகாட்டியாகவும் நீ ஆக்குவாயாக” என்று (பிரார்த்தித்துக்) கூறுவார்கள்.

and those who say, “Our Lord, let our spouses and children be a source of joy for us, and make us good examples for the righteous.”

Olaika yujzawna alghurfata bima sabaroo wayulaqqawna feeha tahiyyatan wasalaman

Those will be rewarded with the highest place (in Paradise) because of their patience. Therein they shall be met with greetings and the word of peace and respect.

Those will be awarded the Chamber for what they patiently endured, and they will be received therein with greetings and [words of] peace.

ஆகிய இத்தகையவருக்கு, அவர்கள் (பல நல்ல காரியங்களைச் செய்திருப்பதுடன் அவைகளைச் செய்யும்போது ஏற்பட்ட) கஷ்டங்களைச் சகித்துக்கொண்டதன் காரணமாக உயர்ந்த மாளிகைகள் (மறுமையில்) கொடுக்கப்படும். "ஈடேற்றம் (உண்டாவதாக)" என்று போற்றி அதில் அவர்கள் வரவேற்கப் படுவார்கள்.

பொறுமையுடனிருந்த காரணத்தால், இவர்களுக்கு(ச் சுவனபதியில்) உன்னதமான மாளிகை நற்கூலியாக அளிக்கப்படும்; வாழ்த்தும், ஸலாமும் கொண்டு அவர்கள் எதிர்கொண்டழைக்கப் படுவார்கள்.

அத்தகையோர் - அவர்கள் கஷ்டங்களைப் பொறுத்துக்கொண்டதன் காரணமாக, உயர்ந்த மாளிகையை (மறுமையில்) அவர்கள் கூலியாகக் கொடுக்கப்படுவார்கள், காணிக்கையாலும், சாந்தியாலும் அதில் வரவேற்கப்படுவார்கள்.

It is they who will be rewarded with high palaces [in Paradise] for their perseverance, and they will be received therein with salutations and greetings of peace,

Khalideena feeha hasunat mustaqarran wamuqaman

Abiding therein – excellent it is as an abode, and as a place to rest in.

Abiding eternally therein. Good is the settlement and residence.

என்றென்றும் அதில் தங்கிவிடுவார்கள். சிறிது நேரம் தங்குவதாயினும் சரி, என்றென்றும் தங்குவதாயினும் சரி, அது மிக்க (நல்ல) அழகான தங்குமிடம்.

அதில் அவர்கள் என்றென்றும் தங்கிவிடுவார்கள்; அது வாழ்வதற்கும் வசிப்பதற்கும் அழகிய இடமாகும்.

அதில் (அவர்கள்) நிரந்தரமாக (த் தங்கி) இருப்பவர்கள், நிலையாகத் தங்குமிடத்தாலும், சிறிது நேரம் தங்குமிடத்தாலும் அது அழகானதாகிவிட்டது.

abiding therein forever. What an excellent abode and a resting place!

Qul ma yaAAbao bikum rabbee lawla duAAaokum faqad kaththabtum fasawfa yakoonu lizaman

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] to the disbelievers): "My Lord pays attention to you only because of your invocation to Him. But now you have indeed denied (Him). So the torment will be yours forever (inseparable, permanent punishment)."

Say, "What would my Lord care for you if not for your supplication?" For you [disbelievers] have denied, so your denial is going to be adherent.

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "நீங்கள் என் இறைவனை(க் கெஞ்சிப்) பிரார்த்தனை செய்யாவிடில் (அதற்காக) அவன் உங்களைப் பொருட்படுத்த மாட்டான். ஏனென்றால், நீங்கள் (அவனுடைய வசனங்களை) நிச்சயமாக பொய்யாக்கிக் கொண்டே இருக்கிறீர்கள். ஆகவே, அதன் வேதனை (உங்களைக்) கண்டிப்பாகப் பிடித்தே தீரும்.

(நபியே!) சொல்வீராக: “உங்களுடைய பிரார்த்தனை இல்லாவிட்டால், என்னுடைய இறைவன் உங்களைப் பொருட்படுத்தி இருக்க மாட்டான்; ஆனால் நீங்களோ (சத்தியத்தை) நிராகரித்துக் கொண்டே இருக்கிறீர்கள். எனவே, அதன் வேதனை பின்னர் உங்களைக் கண்டிப்பாகப் பிடித்தே தீரும்.”

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக! “நீங்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வை) அழைத்துப் பிரார்த்திப்பது (மட்டும்) இல்லையெனில், என்னுடைய இரட்சகன் உங்களை பொருட்படுத்தியிருக்க மாட்டான், ஏனெனில் நீங்கள் (அவனுடைய வசனங்களைப்) பொய்ப்படுத்திவிட்டீர்கள், எனவே அ(தற்குரிய தண்டனையான)து கட்டாயமாக உங்களுக்கு உண்டாகும்.

Say [O Prophet], “My Lord would not care at all about you, were it not for your supplication. Now since you have rejected [the truth], the inevitable is bound to come.”
