20 - Ta Ha (Ta Ha)

Taha

Tâ-Hâ.[These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'ân, and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings.]

Ta, Ha.

தாஹா.

தாஹா.

தா ஹா.

Tā Ha

Ma anzalna AAalayka alqurana litashqa

We have not sent down the Qur'ân to you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) to cause you distress,

We have not sent down to you the Qur'an that you be distressed

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் கஷ்டத்தை அடைவதற்காக இந்தக் குர்ஆனை நாம் உங்கள் மீது இறக்கவில்லை.

(நபியே!) நீர் துன்பப்படுவதற்காக நாம் இந்த குர்ஆனை உம்மீது இறக்கவில்லை.

நீர் சங்கடப்படுவதற்காக (இந்தக்) குர் ஆனை உம்மீது நாம் இறக்கி வைக்கவில்லை.

We have not sent down the Qur’an to you [O Prophet] to cause you distress,

Illa tathkiratan liman yakhsha

But only as a Reminder to those who fear (Allâh).

But only as a reminder for those who fear [Allah] -

ஆயினும், (இறைவனுக்கு அஞ்சக்கூடிய) இறை அச்சம் உடையவர்களுக்கு ஒரு நல்லுபதேசமாகவே (இதனை இறக்கி வைத்தோம்).

(அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) அஞ்சுவோருக்கு நல்லுபதேசமே அன்றி (வேறில்லை).

(அல்லாஹ்வாகிய அவனை) பயந்தோருக்கு உபதேசமாகவே அன்றி (இதனை நாம் இறக்கவில்லை).

but as a reminder for those who fear Allah.

Tanzeelan mimman khalaqa alarda waalssamawati alAAula

A Revelation from Him (Allâh) Who has created the earth and high heavens.

A revelation from He who created the earth and highest heavens,

உயர்ந்த வானங்களையும், பூமியையும் படைத்தவனிடமிருந்து இது அருளப்பட்டது.

பூமியையும், உயர்வான வானங்களையும் படைத்தவனிடமிருந்து அது இறக்கி அருளப் பெற்றது.

பூமியையும், உயர்ந்த வானங்களையும் படைத்தவனிடமிருந்து (இவ்வேதம்) இறக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

A revelation from the One Who created the earth and the high heavens.

Alrrahmanu AAala alAAarshi istawa

The Most Gracious (Allâh) rose over (Istawâ) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty).

The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established.

(அவற்றை படைத்த) ரஹ்மான் (ஆகிய அல்லாஹ்) அர்ஷின் மீது (தன் மகிமைக்குத் தக்கவாறு) உயர்ந்துவிட்டான்.

அர்ரஹ்மான் அர்ஷின் மீது அமைந்தான்.

அர்ரஹ்மான் (தன் கண்ணியத்திற்குத் தக்கவாறும், மகத்துவத்திற்குரியவாறும் அர்ஷின் மீதிருப்பது அவனுக்கு எவ்வாறு தகுமோ அவ்வாறே) அவன் அர்ஷின் மீது உயர்ந்து (நிலைபெற்று) விட்டான்.

The Most Compassionate rose over the Throne.

Lahu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi wama baynahuma wama tahta alththara

To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth, and all that is between them, and all that is under the soil.

To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth and what is between them and what is under the soil.

வானங்களிலும், பூமியிலும், இவைகளுக்கு மத்தியிலும், இன்னும் பூமிக்குக் கீழ் புதைந்து கிடப்பவைகளும் அவனுக்கே சொந்தமானவை.

வானங்களிலுள்ளவையும், பூமியிலுள்ளவையும், இவ்விரண்டிற்கும் இடையே உள்ளவையும், மண்ணுக்கு அடியில் உள்ளவையும் அவனுக்கே உரியன.

வானங்களிலுள்ளவையும், பூமியில் உள்ளவையும், இவ்விரண்டிற்கு மத்தியில் உள்ளவையும் பூமிக்குக் கீழ் (ஈரமான மண்ணுக்கடியில்) உள்ளவையும் அவனுக்கே உரியவையாகும்.

To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth, and all that is between them, and all that is beneath the soil.

Wain tajhar bialqawli fainnahu yaAAlamu alssirra waakhfa

And if you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) speak (the invocation) aloud, then verily, He knows the secret and that which is yet more hidden.

And if you speak aloud - then indeed, He knows the secret and what is [even] more hidden.

(நபியே!) நீங்கள் (மெதுவாகவோ) சப்தமிட்டோ கூறினால் (இரண்டும் அவனுக்குச் சமம்தான்.) ஏனென்றால், நிச்சயமாக அவன் இரகசியத்தையும் அறிகிறான்; அதைவிட இரகசியமாக (மனதில்) இருப்பதையும் அறிகிறான்.

(நபியே!) நீர் உரக்கச் சொன்னாலும் நிச்சயமாக அவன் இரகசியத்தையும் (அதை விட) மறைவானதையும் அறிகிறான்.

(நபியே! உம்) சொல்லை நீர் சப்தமாகக் கூறினாலும், நிச்சயமாக அவன் இரகசியத்தையும் அதைவிட மறைவானதையும் அறிகிறான்.

Whether you speak loudly [or not], He surely knows what is secret and what is even more hidden.

Allahu la ilaha illa huwa lahu alasmao alhusna

Allâh! Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)! To Him belong the Best Names.

Allah - there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names.

அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர வணக்கத்திற்குரிய வேறொரு இறைவன் இல்லை. அவனுக்கு அழகான (திருப்) பெயர்கள் இருக்கின்றன. (அவைகளில் எதனைக் கொண்டேனும் அவனை அழையுங்கள்.)

அல்லாஹ் - அவனைத் தவிர வணக்கத்திற்குரிய நாயன் வேறில்லை; அவனுக்கு அழகிய திரு நாமங்கள் இருக்கின்றன.

அல்லாஹ்-அவனைத் தவிர வணக்கத்திற்குரிய வேறு நாயன் இல்லை, அவனுக்கு அழகான (பல) பெயர்கள் இருக்கின்றன.

Allah – none has the right to be worshiped except Him. He has the Most Beautiful Names.

Wahal ataka hadeethu moosa

And has there come to you the story of Mûsâ (Moses)?

And has the story of Moses reached you? -

(நபியே!) மூஸாவின் சரித்திரம் உங்களிடம் வந்திருக்கிறதா?

இன்னும் (நபியே!) மூஸாவின் வரலாறு உம்மிடம் வந்ததா?

இன்னும், (நபியே!) மூஸாவின் செய்தி உம்மிடம் வந்ததா?

Has there come to you the story of Moses?

Ith raa naran faqala liahlihi omkuthoo innee anastu naran laAAallee ateekum minha biqabasin aw ajidu AAala alnnari hudan

When he saw a fire, he said to his family: "Wait! Verily, I have seen a fire; perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire."

When he saw a fire and said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance."

(அவர் தன் குடும்பத்தாருடன் சென்றபொழுது தான் செல்ல வேண்டிய வழியை அறியாத நிலையில் தூர் என்னும் மலைமீது) அவர் நெருப்பைக் கண்ட சமயத்தில் தன் குடும்பத்தாரை நோக்கி "நீங்கள் (இங்கு சிறிது) தாமதித்திருங்கள். மெய்யாகவே நான் ஒரு நெருப்பைக் காண்கிறேன். அதிலிருந்து ஒரு எரி கொள்ளியை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு உங்களிடம் வருகிறேன். அல்லது நெருப்பி(ன் வெளிச்சத்தி)னால் (நாம் செல்லவேண்டிய) வழியை அறிந்து கொள்வேன்" என்றார்.

அவர் நெருப்பைக் கண்டு தம் குடும்பத்தாரிடம் “நீங்கள் (இங்கு சிறிது) தங்குங்கள்; நிச்சயமாக நான் நெருப்பைக் கண்டேன்; ஒரு வேளை அதிலிருந்து உங்களுக்கு ஓர் எரி கொள்ளியைக் கொண்டு வரவோ; அல்லது நாம் செல்ல வேண்டிய பாதையை அந் நெருப்பி(ன் உதவியி)னால் கண்டு பிடிக்கவோ செய்யலாம்” என்று (கூறினார்).

(தூர் என்னும் மலை மீது) நெருப்பை அவர் கண்டபோது, தன் குடும்பத்தினரிடம், “நீங்கள் (இங்கு சிறிது) தங்குங்கள், நிச்சயமாக நான் நெருப்பைக் காண்கிறேன், அதிலிருந்து ஒரு தீப்பந்தத்தை உங்களுக்குக் கொண்டு வரவோ, அல்லது நெருப்பி(ன் வெளிச்சத்தி)னால் வழியை நான் பெறவோ செய்யலாம்” என்றார்.

When he saw a fire, he said to his family, “Stay here. I have spotted a fire; I may bring you a flaming brand from it, or find some guidance at the fire.”

Falamma ataha noodiya ya moosa

And when he came to it (the fire), he was called by name: "O Mûsâ (Moses)!

And when he came to it, he was called, "O Moses,

அவர் அதனிடம் வரவே (அவரை நோக்கி) "மூஸாவே!" என்று சப்தமிட்டழைத்து (நாம் கூறியதாவது:)

அவர் (நெருப்பின்) அருகே வந்த போது “மூஸாவே!” என்று அழைக்கப் பட்டார்.

ஆகவே, அவர் அதனிடம் வரவே மூஸாவே! என அவர் அழைக்கப்பட்டார்.

When he came to it, he was called, “O Moses,

Innee ana rabbuka faikhlaAA naAAlayka innaka bialwadi almuqaddasi tuwan

"Verily, I am your Lord! So take off your shoes; you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa.

Indeed, I am your Lord, so remove your sandals. Indeed, you are in the sacred valley of Tuwa.

நிச்சயமாக நான்தான் உங்களது இறைவன். உங்களுடைய காலணிகள் இரண்டையும் கழற்றிவிடுங்கள். நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் "துவா" என்னும் பரிசுத்த இடத்தில் இருக்கிறீர்கள்.

“நிச்சயமாக நாம் தான் உம்முடைய இறைவன்; நீர் உம் காலணிகள் இரண்டையும் கழற்றிவிடும்! நிச்சயமாக நீர் “துவா” என்னும் புனிதமான பள்ளத்தாக்கில் இருக்கிறீர்.

“நிச்சயமாக நான்தான் உமதிரட்சகன், ஆகவே, உம்முடைய காலணிகள் இரண்டையும் கழற்றிவிடும், நிச்சயமாக நீர் “துவா” எனும் பரிசுத்தமான பள்ளத்தாக்கில் இருக்கிறீர்.”

Indeed, I am your Lord, so take off your shoes; you are in the sacred valley of Tuwā.

Waana ikhtartuka faistamiAA lima yooha

"And I have chosen you. So listen to that which will be revealed (to you).

And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed [to you].

"நான் உங்களை (என் தூதராகத்) தேர்ந்தெடுத்துக் கொண்டேன். ஆதலால், வஹ்யி மூலம் (உங்களுக்கு) அறிவிக்கப்படுபவைகளை நீங்கள் செவிசாயுங்கள்.

இன்னும் “நாம் உம்மை (என் தூதராக)த் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தேன்; ஆதலால் வஹீயின் வாயிலாக (உமக்கு) அறிவிக்கப் படுவதற்கு நீர் செவியேற்பீராக.

மேலும், “நான் உம்மை (என்னுடைய தூதராக)த் தேர்ந்தெடுத்துக் கொண்டேன், ஆதலால் (வஹீ மூலம் உமக்கு) அறிவிக்கப்படுபவைகளை நீர் செவியேற்பீராக!”

I have chosen you, so listen to what is being revealed:

Innanee ana Allahu la ilaha illa ana faoAAbudnee waaqimi alssalata lithikree

"Verily, I am Allâh! Lâ ilâha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so worship Me, and perform As-Salât (the prayers) for My remembrance.

Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance.

நிச்சயமாக நான்தான் அல்லாஹ். என்னைத் தவிர வணக்கத்திற்குரிய வேறு இறைவன் இல்லை. என்னையே நீங்கள் வணங்குங்கள். என்னை தியானித்துக்கொண்டே இருக்கும் பொருட்டு தொழுகையைக் கடைப்பிடியுங்கள்."

“நிச்சயமாக நாம் தான் அல்லாஹ்! என்னைத் தவிர வேறு நாயன் இல்லை; ஆகவே, என்னையே நீர் வணங்கும், என்னை தியானிக்கும் பொருட்டு தொழுகையை நிலைநிறுத்துவீராக.

“நிச்சயமாக நான்தான் அல்லாஹ், என்னைத்தவிர வணக்கத்திற்குரிய வேறு நாயன் இல்லை, ஆகவே, என்னையே நீர் வணங்குவீராக! என்னை நினைவு கூர்வதற்காக தொழுகையையும் நிறைவேற்றுவீராக”

‘Indeed, I am Allah; none has the right to be worshiped except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer to remember me.

Inna alssaAAata atiyatun akadu okhfeeha litujza kullu nafsin bima tasAAa

"Verily, the Hour is coming — and I am almost hiding it — that every person may be rewarded for that which he strives.

Indeed, the Hour is coming - I almost conceal it - so that every soul may be recompensed according to that for which it strives.

நிச்சயமாக மறுமை வந்தே தீரும். ஒவ்வொரு ஆத்மாவும் தன் செயலுக்குத் தக்க கூலியை அடையும் பொருட்டு அதனை நான் (மனிதர்களுக்கு) மறைத்து வைக்க விரும்புகிறேன்.

“ஒவ்வோர் ஆத்மாவும் தான் செய்ததற்குத் தக்கபடி பிரதிபலன்கள் அளிக்கப்படும் பொருட்டு (நியாயத் தீர்ப்புக்குரிய) வேளை நிச்சயமாக வரவிருக்கிறது; ஆயினும் அதை மறைத்து வைக்க நாடுகிறேன்.

“நிச்சயமாக மறுமை வரக்கூடியதாக இருக்கிறது ஒவ்வோர் ஆத்மாவும் அது முயற்சி செய்ததற்குத்தக்க கூலி வழங்கப்படுவதற்காக அதனை நான் (மனிதர்களுக்கு) மறைத்து வைக்க சமீபிக்கிறேன்” (முற்றிலும் மறைத்து வைத்துள்ளேன்).

The Hour is certainly coming, but I almost keep it hidden, so that every soul will be recompensed for what it strives.

Fala yasuddannaka AAanha man la yuminu biha waittabaAAa hawahu fatarda

"Therefore, let not the one who believes not therein (i.e. in the Day of Resurrection, Reckoning, Paradise and Hell), but follows his own lusts, divert you therefrom, lest you perish.

So do not let one avert you from it who does not believe in it and follows his desire, for you [then] would perish.

ஆகவே, அதனை ( மறுமையை) நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளாமல் சரீர இச்சையைப் பின்பற்றுபவன் அந்நாளை நம்பிக்கை கொள்வதிலிருந்து உங்களைத் தடுத்துவிட வேண்டாம். அவ்வாறாயின் நீங்கள் அழிந்துவிடுவீர்கள்.

“ஆகவே, அதனை நம்பாது, தன் (மன) இச்சையைப் பின்பற்றுபவன் திடனாக அதைவிட்டும் உம்மைத் திருப்பிவிட வேண்டாம். அவ்வாறாயின், நீர் அழிந்துபோவீர்.

ஆகவே, அதனை நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளாது, தன் (மன) இச்சையையும் பின்பற்றியவன் அதனைவிட்டும் திண்ணமாக உம்மைத் தடுத்துவிட வேண்டாம், அவ்வாறாயின் நீர் அழிந்துவிடுவீர்! (என்று கூறி)

So do not let those who disbelieve in it and follow their desires distract you from it, or you will perish.’”

Wama tilka biyameenika ya moosa

"And what is that in your right hand, O Mûsâ (Moses)?"

And what is that in your right hand, O Moses?"

"மூஸாவே! உங்களது வலது கையில் இருப்பது என்ன?" என்று கேட்டான்.

“மூஸாவே! உம்முடைய வலது கையில் இருப்பது என்ன?” (என்றும் அல்லாஹ் கேட்டான்.)

“மேலும், மூஸாவே! உமது வலது கையில் இருப்பது என்ன?” (என்றும் கேட்டான்.)

What is that in your right hand, O Moses?”

Qala hiya AAasaya atawakkao AAalayha waahushshu biha AAala ghanamee waliya feeha maaribu okhra

He said: "This is my stick, whereon I lean, and wherewith I beat down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses."

He said, "It is my staff; I lean upon it, and I bring down leaves for my sheep and I have therein other uses."

அதற்கவர் "இது என்னுடைய கைத்தடி. இதன்மீது நான் சாய்ந்து கொள்வேன். இதைக் கொண்டு என்னுடைய ஆடுகளுக்குத் தழை (குழை)களைப் பறிப்பேன். இன்னும் இதில் எனக்கு வேறு பல பயன்களும் இருக்கின்றன" என்று கூறினார்.

(அதற்கவர்) “இது என்னுடைய கைத்தடி; இதன் மீது நான் சாய்ந்து கொள்வேன்; இதைக் கொண்டு என் ஆடுகளுக்கு இலைகள் பறிப்பேன்; இன்னும் இதில் எனக்கு வேறு தேவைகளும் நிறைவேறுகின்றன” என்று கூறினார்.

அ(தற்க)வர், “இது என்னுடைய கைத்தடி, இதன்மீது நான் சாய்ந்து கொள்வேன், இதைக்கொண்டு என்னுடைய ஆடுகளுக்கு(த்தழை குழைகளை) மரங்களிலிருந்து பறிப்பேன், இன்னும் இதில் எனக்கு வேறு பல தேவைகளும் இருக்கின்றன” என்று கூறினார்.

He said, “It is my staff. I lean on it and beat down leaves with it for my sheep, and I have other uses for it.”

Qala alqiha ya moosa

(Allâh) said: "Cast it down, O Mûsâ (Moses)!"

[Allah] said, "Throw it down, O Moses."

அதற்கு (இறைவன்) "மூஸாவே! நீங்கள் அதனை(த் தரையில்) எறியுங்கள்" எனக் கூறினான்.

அதற்கு (இறைவன்) “மூஸாவே! அதை நீர் கீழே எறியும்” என்றான்.

(அதற்கு அல்லாஹ்) “மூஸாவே நீர் அதனை(த் தரையில்) போடுவீராக” என்று கூறினான்.

Allah said, “Throw it down, O Moses!”

Faalqaha faitha hiya hayyatun tasAAa

He cast it down, and behold! It was a snake, moving quickly.

So he threw it down, and thereupon it was a snake, moving swiftly.

அவர் அதனை எறியவே அது ஒரு பெரிய பாம்பாகி ஓடிற்று.

அவ்வாறே அவர் அதனைக் கீழே எறிந்தார்; அப்போது அது ஊர்ந்து செல்லும் ஒரு பாம்பாயிற்று.

அப்பொழுது அவர் அதனைப் போட்டார், அச்சமயமே அது நெளிந்து செல்லும் ஒரு பெரிய பாம்பாயிற்று.

He threw it down, and it suddenly became a slithering snake.

Qala khuthha wala takhaf sanuAAeeduha seerataha aloola

Allâh said:"Grasp it and fear not; We shall return it to its former state,

[Allah] said, "Seize it and fear not; We will return it to its former condition.

(அப்போது இறைவன்) "நீங்கள் அதைப் பிடியுங்கள்; பயப்படாதீர்கள். உடனே அதனை முன் போல் (தடியாக) ஆக்கி விடுவேன்.

(இறைவன்) கூறினான்: “அதைப் பிடியும்; பயப்படாதீர்; உடனே நாம் அதை அதன் பழைய நிலைக்கே மீட்டுவோம்.”

“நீர் அதைப் பிடியும், மேலும் பயப்படாதீர், உடனே அதனை முந்திய நிலைக்கே (கைத்தடியாக) நாம் மீட்டுவோம்” என்று அல்லாஹ்வாகிய அவன் கூறினான்.

Allah said, “Pick it up, and have no fear. We will restore it to its former state.

Waodmum yadaka ila janahika takhruj baydaa min ghayri sooin ayatan okhra

"And press your (right) hand to your (left) side: it will come forth white (and shining), without any disease as another sign,

And draw in your hand to your side; it will come out white without disease - another sign,

உங்களுடைய கையை உங்களது கக்கத்தில் சேர்த்து வையுங்கள். (அதை எடுக்கும்போது அது மிக்க ஒளியுடன் மாசற்ற வெண்மையாக வெளிவரும். (இது) மற்றொரு அத்தாட்சியாகும்.

“இன்னும், உம் கையை உம் விலாப்புறமாக புகுத்தி (வெளியில்) எடும்; அது ஒளி மிக்கதாய் மாசற்ற வெண்மையாக வெளிவரும்; இது மற்றோர் அத்தாட்சியாகும்.

மேலும் “உம்முடைய கையை உம்முடைய விலாப்புறத்தின்பால் சேர்ப்பீராக! அது இன்னொரு அத்தாட்சியாக எவ்விதத்தீங்குமின்றி வெண்மையாக வெளிவரும்.

Put your hand under your armpit; it will come out shining white without blemish, as another sign,

Linuriyaka min ayatina alkubra

"That We may show you (some) of Our Greater Signs.

That We may show you [some] of Our greater signs.

(இவ்வாறு இன்னும்) நம்முடைய பெரிய அத்தாட்சிகளை உங்களுக்கு நாம் காண்பிப்போம்.

“(இவ்வாறு) நம்முடைய பெரிய அத்தாட்சிகளிலிருந்து (சிலவற்றை) உமக்குக் காண்பிக்கிறோம்.

“(இவ்வாறு) நம்முடைய பெரிய அத்தாட்சிகளிலிருந்து (சிலவற்றை) உமக்கு காண்பிப்பதற்காக (இவற்றைச் செய்யுமாறு நாம் கட்டளையிட்டோம்)

so that We may show you some of Our greatest signs.

Ithhab ila firAAawna innahu tagha

"Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh)! Verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience, and has behaved as an arrogant and as a tyrant)."

Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed."

நீங்கள் ஃபிர்அவ்னிடம் செல்லுங்கள். நிச்சயமாக அவன் மாறு செய்து கொண்டிருக்கிறான்" என்று கூறினான்.

“ஃபிர்அவ்னிடம் நீர் செல்வீராக! நிச்சயமாக அவன் (வரம்பு) மீறி விட்டான்” (என்றும் அல்லாஹ் கூறினான்).

“நீர் ஃபிர் அவ்னிடம் செல்வீராக! நிச்சயமாக அவன் தன் (தகுதியை மறந்து இரட்சகனின்) வரம்பை மீறி விட்டான்” (என்றும் கூறினான்)

Go to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds.”

Qala rabbi ishrah lee sadree

[Mûsâ (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness).

[Moses] said, "My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance]

அதற்கு "என் இறைவனே! என் உள்ளத்தை(த் திடப்படுத்தி) விரிவாக்கு;

(அதற்கு மூஸா) கூறினார்: “இறைவனே! எனக்காக என் நெஞ்சத்தை நீ (உறுதிப்படுத்தி) விரிவாக்கி தருவாயாக!

(அதற்கு மூஸா) கூறினார் “என் இரட்சகனே! என் நெஞ்சத்தை(த் திடப்படுத்தி விரிவாக்கி வைப்பாயாக”)

He said, “My Lord, reassure my heart for me,

Wayassir lee amree

"And ease my task for me;

And ease for me my task

(நான் செய்ய வேண்டிய) காரியங்களை எனக்குச் சுலபமாக்கி வை.

“என் காரியத்தை எனக்கு நீ எளிதாக்கியும் வைப்பாயாக!

என்னுடைய காரியத்தை எனக்கு எளிதாக்கியும் வைப்பாயாக!

and ease my task for me,

Waohlul AAuqdatan min lisanee

"And loose the knot (the defect) from my tongue, (i.e. remove the incorrectness from my speech) [That occurred as a result of a brand of fire which Mûsâ (Moses) put in his mouth when he was an infant]. (Tafsir At-Tabarî)

And untie the knot from my tongue

என் நாவிலுள்ள (கொண்ணல்) முடிச்சை அவிழ்த்துவிடு;

“என் நாவிலுள்ள (திக்குவாய்) முடிச்சையும் அவிழ்ப்பாயாக!

என் நாவிலுள்ள முடிச்சை அவிழ்த்தும் விடுவாயாக!

and loosen the knot from my tongue,

Yafqahoo qawlee

"That they understand my speech.

That they may understand my speech.

என் வார்த்தையை (மக்கள்) விளங்கிக் கொள்ளும்படிச் செய்.

“என் சொல்லை அவர்கள் விளங்கிக் கொள்வதற்காக!

(அப்பொழுது) என் சொல்லை அவர்கள் விளங்கிக் கொள்வார்கள்.

so that they may understand my speech.

WaijAAal lee wazeeran min ahlee

"And appoint for me a helper from my family,

And appoint for me a minister from my family -

என் குடும்பத்தில் ஒருவரை எனக்கு உற்ற துணையாக்கி (மந்திரியாக்கி) வை;

“என் குடும்பத்திலிருந்து எனக்கு (உதவி செய்ய) ஓர் உதவியாளரையும் ஏற்படுத்தித் தருவாயாக!

என் குடும்பத்திலிருந்து எனக்கு உதவியாளரை ஆக்கியும் வைப்பாயாக!

And appoint for me a helper from my family,

Haroona akhee

"Hârûn (Aaron), my brother.

Aaron, my brother.

அவர் என்னுடைய சகோதரர் ஹாரூனாகவே இருக்கட்டும்.

“என் சகோதரர் ஹாரூனை (அவ்வாறு ஏற்படுத்தித் தருவாயாக)!

என் சகோதரர் ஹாரூனை (அவ்வாறு ஆக்கி வைப்பாயாக).

Aaron, my brother.

Oshdud bihi azree

"Increase my strength with him,

Increase through him my strength

அவரைக் கொண்டு என் ஆற்றலை உறுதிப்படுத்தி வை.

“அவரைக் கொண்டு என் முதுகை வலுப்படுத்துவாயாக!

அவரைக் கொண்டு என் பலத்தை உறுதிப்படுத்தி வைப்பாயாக!

Increase my strength through him,

Waashrikhu fee amree

"And let him share my task (of conveying Allâh's Message and Prophethood),

And let him share my task

என் காரியங்களில் அவரையும் கூட்டாளியாக்கி வை.

“என் காரியத்தில் அவரைக் கூட்டாக்கி வைப்பாயாக!

என் காரியங்களில் அவரைக் கூட்டாக்கியும் வைப்பாயாக!

and let him share my task,

Kay nusabbihaka katheeran

"That we may glorify You much,

That we may exalt You much

நாங்கள் (இருவரும்) உன்னை அதிகமதிகம் புகழ்வோம்.

“நாங்கள் உன்னை அதிகமதிகம் (தஸ்பீஹு செய்து) துதிப்பதற்காகவும்;

நாங்கள் உன்னை அதிகமாகத் துதி செய்து போற்றுவதற்காகவும்,

so that we may glorify You much,

Wanathkuraka katheeran

"And remember You much,

And remember You much.

(பின்னும்) உன்னை அதிகமாகவே நினைவு கூர்வோம்.

“உன்னை அதிகமதிகம் நினைவு கூர்வதற்காகவும் (இவற்றையெல்லாம் அருள்வாயாக!)

“நாங்கள் உன்னை அதிகமாக நினைவு கூர்வதர்க்காகவும் (என் கோரிக்கைகளை ஏற்று அருள்வாயாக)

and remember You much.

Innaka kunta bina baseeran

"Verily, You are Ever a Well-Seer of us."

Indeed, You are of us ever Seeing."

எங்கள் இறைவனே! நீ எங்களை உற்று நோக்கியவனாக இருக்கிறாய்" என்று (மூஸா) பிரார்த்தனை செய்தார்.

“நிச்சயமாக, நீ எங்களை நோக்கியவனாகவே இருக்கிறாய்” (என்றார்)

“நிச்சயமாக நீ எங்களை பார்க்கக்கூடியவனாகவே இருக்கிறாய்” (என்று மூஸா நபி பிரார்த்தனை செய்தார்).

For indeed You are All-Watchful over us.”

Qala qad ooteeta sulaka ya moosa

(Allâh) said: "You are granted your request, O Mûsâ (Moses)!

[Allah] said, "You have been granted your request, O Moses.

அதற்கு (இறைவன்) கூறினான், "மூஸாவே! நீங்கள் கேட்ட யாவும் நிச்சயமாக உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டன,

“மூஸாவே! நீர் கேட்டவை, நிச்சயமாக உமக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன” என்று (அல்லாஹ்) கூறினான்.

(அதற்கு) “மூஸாவே! நீர் கேட்டவற்றை திட்டமாக நீர் கொடுக்கப்பட்டு விட்டீர்” என்று (அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) அவன் கூறினான்.

Allah said, “You are granted your request, O Moses.

Walaqad mananna AAalayka marratan okhra

"And indeed We conferred a favour on you another time (before).

And We had already conferred favor upon you another time,

(இதற்கு) முன்னரும் ஒருமுறை நிச்சயமாக நாம் உங்களுக்குப் பேரருள் புரிந்திருக்கிறோம்." (அதாவது:)

மேலும், முன்னர் மற்றொரு முறையும் நிச்சயமாக நாம் உம்மீது பேரருள் புரிந்துள்ளோம்.

மற்றொரு தடவையும் திட்டமாக நாம் உம்மீது பேரருள் புரிந்திருக்கிறோம்.

And We had already conferred favor upon you before,

Ith awhayna ila ommika ma yooha

"When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired.

When We inspired to your mother what We inspired,

உங்கள் தாய்க்கு வஹ்யி மூலமாக நாம் அறிவித்த சமயம்,

“உம் தாயாருக்கு அறிவிக்க வேண்டியதை அறிவித்த நேரத்தை (நினைவு கூர்வீராக)!

உமது தாய்க்கு (உம்மைப்பற்றி) அறிவிக்கப்பட வேண்டியவற்றை நாம் அறிவித்த சமயம்-(அதாவது)

when We inspired your mother, saying,

Ani iqthifeehi fee alttabooti faiqthifeehi fee alyammi falyulqihi alyammu bialssahili yakhuthhu AAaduwwun lee waAAaduwwun lahu waalqaytu AAalayka mahabbatan minnee walitusnaAAa AAala AAaynee

"(Saying:) 'Put him (the child) into the Tabût (a box or a case or a chest) and put it into the river (Nile); then the river shall cast it up on the bank, and there, an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his shall take him.' And I endued you with love from Me, in order that you may be brought up under My Eye.

[Saying], 'Cast him into the chest and cast it into the river, and the river will throw it onto the bank; there will take him an enemy to Me and an enemy to him.' And I bestowed upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under My eye.

"(உங்களது இனத்தாரின் ஆண் குழந்தைகளை ஃபிர்அவ்ன் வதை செய்து கொண்டிருந்தான். உங்களைப் பற்றி உங்கள் தாய் கவலை கொண்டாள். ஆகவே, உங்கள் தாயை நோக்கி) "உங்களைப் பேழையில் வைத்து கடலில் எறிந்துவிடுங்கள். அக்கடல் அதனைக் கரையில் சேர்த்துவிடும். எனக்கும் அந்த குழந்தைக்கும் எதிரியாக உள்ளவனே அதனை எடுத்துக்கொள்வான் என்று (உங்கள் தாய்க்கு அறிவித்தோ)ம். நீங்கள் என் கண் பார்வையில் வளர்க்கப்படுவதற்காக (இவ்வாறு) உங்கள்மீது என் அன்பை சொரிந்(து உங்களைப் பார்ப்பவர்கள் விரும்பும்படிச் செய்)தோம்.

அவரை (குழந்தையை)ப் பேழையில் வைத்து (அப்பேழையை நீல்) நதியில் போட்டுவிடும்; பின்னர் அந்த நதி அதைக் கரையிலே கொணர்ந்து எறிந்து விடும்; அங்கே எனக்கு பகைவனும்; அவருக்குப் பகைவனுமாகிய (ஒரு)வன் அவரை எடுத்துக்கொள்வான்” (எனப் பணித்தோம்). மேலும், ”(மூஸாவே!) நீர் என் கண் முன்னே வளர்க்கப்படுவதற்காக உம் மீது அன்பைப் பொழிந்தேன்.

“அவரை பேழையில் வைத்து (நைல்) நதியில் அதனை எறிந்துவிடு, அந்நதி அவரைக் கரையில் சேர்த்து விடும், எனக்கு விரோதியும், அவருக்கு விரோதியாகவும் உள்ளவன் அவரை எடுத்துக் கொள்வான்” என்றும் (உம் தாய்க்கு அறிவித்தோம்) என்னிடமிருந்து அன்பையும் உம்மீது நான் பொழிந்தேன், இன்னும் என் கண்காணிப்பில் நீர் வளர்க்கப்படுவதற்காக.

‘Put him into the casket, then cast it into the river. The river will carry it to the shore, and he will be picked up by one who is an enemy to Me and enemy to him.’ I bestowed upon you love from Myself so that you would be brought up under My [watchful] Eye.

Ith tamshee okhtuka fataqoolu hal adullukum AAala man yakfuluhu farajaAAnaka ila ommika kay taqarra AAaynuha wala tahzana waqatalta nafsan fanajjaynaka mina alghammi wafatannaka futoonan falabithta sineena fee ahli madyana thumma jita AAala qadarin ya moosa

"When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So, We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Mûsâ (Moses)!

[And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses.

உங்களுடைய சகோதரி சென்று (உங்களை எடுத்தவர் களிடம்) "இக்குழந்தைக்கு(ப் பால் கொடுக்கும்) பொறுப்பை ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளக் கூடியவரை நான் உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கவா?" என்று கூறும்படிச் செய்து, உங்கள் தாய் கவலைப்படாது அவளின் கண் குளிர்ந்திருக்கும் பொருட்டு, உங்கள் தாயிடமே உங்களைக் கொண்டு வந்(து சேர்த்)தோம். பின்னர், நீங்கள் ஓர் மனிதரைக் கொலை செய்துவிட்டு (அதற்காக) நீங்கள் கொண்ட கவலையில் இருந்து உங்களைக் காப்பாற்றினோம். (இவ்வாறு) உங்களைப் பல வகைகளிலும் சோதித்த பின்னர், மதியன்வாசிகளிடமும் நீங்கள் பல வருடங்கள் தங்கியிருந்தீர்கள். மூஸாவே! இதற்குப் பின்னர்தான் நீங்கள் (நம் தூதுக்குரிய) தக்க பக்குவமடைந்தீர்கள்.

(பேழை கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்ட பின்) உம் சகோதரி நடந்து வந்து, “இவரை வளர்க்கும் பொறுப்பை ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளக் கூடிய ஒருவரை உங்களுக்கு நான் அறிவிக்கட்டுமா?” என்று கேட்டாள்; ஆகவே நாம் உம் தாயாரிடம், அவருடைய கண் குளிர்ச்சியடையும் பொருட்டும்; அவர் துக்கம் அடையாமல் இருக்கும் பொருட்டும் உம்மை (அவர்பால்) மீட்டினோம்; பின்னர் நீர் ஒரு மனிதனைக் கொன்று விட்டீர்; அப்பொழுதும் நாம் உம்மை அக்கவலையிலிருந்து விடுவித்தோம்; மேலும் உம்மைப் பல சோதனைகளைக் கொண்டு சோதித்தோம். அப்பால் நீர் பல ஆண்டுகளாக மதியன் வாசிகளிடையே தங்கியிருந்தீர்; மூஸாவே! பிறகு நீர் (நம் தூதுக்குரிய) தக்க பருவத்தை அடைந்தீர்.

உம் சகோதரி நடந்தபோது (அப்பேழையை எடுத்தவர்களிடம்) “அவருக்கு பொறுப்பேற்றுக் கொள்ளும் ஒருவரை (செவிலித்தாயை) உங்களுக்கு நான் அறிவிக்கட்டுமா?” என்று கூறினாள், பின்னர், உமது தாயாரின்பால், அவரின் கண் குளிர்ந்திருப்பதற்காக இன்னும், அவர் கவலை கொள்ளாதிருப்பதற்காக உம்மை நாம் திருப்பிக் கொடுத்தோம், இன்னும் நீர் ஒரு மனிதரைக் கொலை செய்துவிட்டீர், (அதன்) கவலையிலிருந்து உம்மை நாம் ஈடேற்றினோம், இன்னும், உம்மை சோதிப்பதற்காக (பல சோதனைகளைக் கொண்டு) சோதித்தோம், பின்னர் மத்யன்வாசிகளிடையே பல வருடங்கள் நீர் தங்கியிருந்தீர், அதன் பின்னர் (நாம் உம்மை முன்பு நம் தூதராக்க) நிர்ணயித்தபடி மூஸாவே நீர் வந்தீர்.

When your sister was going along and said, ‘Shall I show you someone who will nurse him?’ Thus We brought you back to your mother, so that she may rejoice and not grieve. Then you killed a man [by mistake], but We saved you from distress, and We put you through several trials. You stayed among the people of Midian for several years, then you came [here] at a destined time, O Moses.

WaistanaAAtuka linafsee

"And I have chosen you for Myself.

And I produced you for Myself.

எனக்காக நான் உங்களைத் தெரிந்தெடுத்திருக்கின்றேன்.

இன்னும், “எனக்காகவே நான் உம்மைத் (தூதராகத்) தெரிந்தெடுத்துள்ளேன்.

மேலும், உம்மை எனக்காக நான் தேர்ந்தெடுத்திருக்கின்றேன்.

I have chosen you for Myself.

Ithhab anta waakhooka biayatee wala taniya fee thikree

"Go you and your brother with My Ayât (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.), and do not, you both, slacken and become weak in My remembrance.

Go, you and your brother, with My signs and do not slacken in My remembrance.

ஆகவே, நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய சகோதரருடன் என்னுடைய அத்தாட்சிகளை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு செல்லுங்கள். நீங்கள் இருவரும் என்னை நினைவு கூர்வதில் சோர்வடைந்து விடாதீர்கள்.

“ஆகவே, நீரும் உம் சகோதரரும் என்னுடைய அத்தாட்சிகளுடன் செல்வீர்களாக! மேலும் என்னைத் தியானிப்பதில் (நீங்களிருவரும்) சளைக்காதீர்கள்.

(ஆகவே,) “நீரும் உம்முடைய சகோதரரும் என்னுடைய அத்தாட்சிகளைக் கொண்டு செல்லுங்கள், நீங்கள் இருவரும் என்னைத் தியானிப்பதில் சோர்வடைந்தும் விடாதீர்கள்.

Go forth, you and your brother, with My signs and do not slacken in remembering Me.

Ithhaba ila firAAawna innahu tagha

"Go both of you to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience and behaved as an arrogant and as a tyrant).

Go, both of you, to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed.

நீங்கள் இருவரும் ஃபிர்அவ்னிடம் செல்லுங்கள். நிச்சயமாக அவன் மிக்க வரம்பு கடந்துவிட்டான்.

“நீங்கள் இருவரும் ஃபிர்அவ்னிடம் செல்லுங்கள்; நிச்சயமாக அவன் வரம்பு மீறிவிட்டான்.

“நீங்கள் இருவரும் ஃபிர் அவ்னிடம் செல்லுங்கள், நிச்சயமாக அவன் மிக்க வரம்பு கடந்துவிட்டான்.

Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, for he has certainly transgressed all bounds.

Faqoola lahu qawlan layyinan laAAallahu yatathakkaru aw yakhsha

"And speak to him mildly, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear (Allâh)."

And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]."

நீங்கள் அவனுக்கு நளினமாகவே உபதேசம் செய்யுங்கள். அவன் நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெறலாம் அல்லது அச்சம் கொள்ளலாம்" என்றும் கூறினோம்.

“நீங்கள் இருவரும் அவனிடம் (சாந்தமாக) மென்மையான சொல்லால் சொல்லுங்கள்; அதனால், அவன் நல்லுபதேசம் பெறலாம்; அல்லது அச்சம் கொள்ளலாம்.”

ஆகவே, நீங்கள் இருவரும் கனிவான சொல்லை அவனுக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள், அதனால் அவன் நல்லுபதேசம் பெறலாம், அல்லது அச்சமடையலாம், (என்று அல்லாஹ் கூறினான்).

But speak to him gently, so that he may take heed or fear Allah.”

Qala rabbana innana nakhafu an yafruta AAalayna aw an yatgha

They said: "Our Lord! Verily, we fear lest he should hasten to punish us or lest he should transgress (all bounds against us)."

They said, "Our Lord, indeed we are afraid that he will hasten [punishment] against us or that he will transgress."

அதற்கு அவ்விருவரும் "எங்கள் இறைவனே! அவன் எங்கள் மீது (வரம்பு) மீறி கொடுமை செய்வானோ அல்லது விஷமம் செய்வானோ என்று நாங்கள் பயப்படுகிறோம்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

“எங்கள் இறைவனே! அவன் எங்களுக்குத் தீங்கிழைக்கத் தீவிரப்படவோ அல்லது வரம்பு மீறவோ செய்யலாம் என்று நாங்கள் பயப்படுகிறோம்” என்று (மூஸாவும், ஹாரூனும்) கூறினார்கள்.

(அதற்கு) “எங்கள் இரட்சகனே! அவன் எங்களுக்கு (தீங்கிழைக்க) அவசரப்படவோ, அல்லது வரம்பு மீறவோ செய்யலாம், என்று நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் பயப்படுகிறோம்” என்று அவ்விருவரும் கூறினார்கள்.

They said, “Our Lord, we fear that he may hasten to punish us or transgress all bounds.”

Qala la takhafa innanee maAAakuma asmaAAu waara

He (Allâh) said: "Fear not, verily, I am with you both, hearing and seeing.

[Allah] said, "Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see.

(அதற்கு இறைவன்) கூறினான்: "நீங்கள் பயப்படவேண்டாம். நான் உங்களுடன் இருந்து (அனைத்தையும்) கேட்டுக்கொண்டும் பார்த்துக்கொண்டும் இருப்பேன்."

(அதற்கு அல்லாஹ்) “நீங்களிருவரும் அஞ்ச வேண்டாம்; நிச்சயமாக நான் (யாவற்றையும்) செவியேற்பவனாகவும், பார்ப்பவனாகவும் உங்களிருவருடனும் இருக்கிறேன்” என்று கூறினான்.

“நீங்கள் இருவரும் பயப்பட வேண்டாம், நிச்சயமாக நான் உங்களிருவருடன் (யாவையும்) கேட்டுக்கொண்டும், பார்த்துக்கொண்டும் இருப்பேன் என (அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) அவன் கூறினான்”.

He said, “Do not be afraid; I am with you both, hearing and seeing.

Fatiyahu faqoola inna rasoola rabbika faarsil maAAana banee israeela wala tuAAaththibhum qad jinaka biayatin min rabbika waalssalamu AAala mani ittabaAAa alhuda

"So go you both to him, and say: 'Verily, we are Messengers of your Lord, so let the Children of Israel go with us, and torment them not; indeed, we have come with a sign from your Lord! And peace will be upon him who follows the guidance!

So go to him and say, 'Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance.

நீங்கள் இருவரும் அவனிடத்தில் சென்று சொல்லுங்கள்: "நாங்கள் உன் இறைவனின் தூதர்கள். இஸ்ராயீலின் சந்ததிகளை எங்களுடன் அனுப்பிவிடு; அவர்களை வேதனை செய்யாதே! மெய்யாகவே நாங்கள் உன் இறைவனுடைய அத்தாட்சியைக் கொண்டு வந்திருக்கிறோம். நேரான வழியைப் பின்பற்றிய லிவர்களுக்கு ஈடேற்றம் உண்டாகட்டும்.

“ஆகவே, நீங்கள் இருவரும் அவனிடம் சென்று: “நாங்களிருவரும் உன்னுடைய இறைவனின் தூதர்கள்; பனூ இஸ்ராயீல்களை எங்களுடன் அனுப்பி விடு; மேலும் அவர்களை வேதனை படுத்தாதே; திடனாக, நாங்கள் உன் இறைவனிடமிருந்து ஓர் அத்தாட்சியை உனக்குக் கொண்டு வந்திருக்கிறோம்; இன்னும் எவர் நேர் வழியைப் பின்பற்றுகிறாரோ அவர் மீது (சாந்தி) ஸலாம் உண்டாவதாக” என்று சொல்லுங்கள்” (என்று அல்லாஹ் கட்டளையிட்டான்).

“ஆகவே, நீங்களிருவரும் அவனிடம் வந்து பின்னர், “நாங்கள் இருவரும் உன் இரட்சகனின் தூதர்கள், இஸ்ராயீலின் மக்களை எங்களுடன் அனுப்பிவிடு, அவர்களை வேதனையும் செய்யாதே, திட்டமாக நாங்கள் உன் இரட்சகனிடமிருந்து அத்தாட்சியை உன்னிடம் கொண்டு வந்திருக்கின்றோம், நேர்வழியைப் பின்பற்றியவர் மீது சாந்தியும் உண்டாவதாக!” என்று நீங்களிருவரும் கூறுங்கள்.

So go to him and say, ‘We are both messengers from your Lord, so let the Children of Israel go with us and do not oppress them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord; and peace be upon he who follows the true guidance.

Inna qad oohiya ilayna anna alAAathaba AAala man kaththaba watawalla

'Truly, it has been revealed to us that the torment will be for him who denies (believes not in the Oneness of Allâh, and in His Messengers), and turns away' (from the truth and obedience of Allâh)."

Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' "

(எங்களை) பொய்யாக்கிப் புறக்கணிக்கின்றவன் மீது வேதனை இறங்குமென்று எங்களுக்கு வஹ்யி மூலம் அறிவிக்கப் பட்டது" (என்பதை தெரிவியுங்கள்).

“எவன் (நாங்கள் கொண்டு வந்திருப்பதை) பொய்ப்பித்து, புறக்கணிக்கிறானோ அவன் மீது நிச்சயமாக வேதனை ஏற்படும் என எங்களுக்கு உறுதியாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது” (என்று நீங்கள் இருவரும் அவனுக்குக் கூறுங்கள்).

“நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள்-எங்கள்பால்-எவன் பொய்யாக்கிப் புறக்கணிக்கின்றானோ அவன்மீது நிச்சயமாக வேதனை ஏற்படுமென்று திட்டமாக (வஹீ மூலம்) அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது” (என்றும் கூறுங்கள்).

It has been revealed to us that the punishment awaits those who reject [the truth] and turn away.’”

Qala faman rabbukuma ya moosa

Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Who then, O Mûsâ (Moses), is the Lord of you two?"

[Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?"

(அதற்கு) அவன் "மூஸாவே! உங்கள் இருவரின் இறைவன் யார்?" என்றான்.

(இதற்கு ஃபிர்அவ்ன்) “மூஸாவே! உங்களிருவருடைய இறைவன் யார்?” என்று கேட்டான்.

(அவ்விருவரும் ஃபிர் அவ்னிடம் வந்து கூறவே, அதற்கு) அவன் “மூஸாவே உங்களிருவரின் இரட்சகன் யார்?” என்று கேட்டான்.

Pharaoh said, “So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?”

Qala rabbuna allathee aAAta kulla shayin khalqahu thumma hada

[Mûsâ (Moses)] said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each thing its form and nature, then guided it aright."

He said, "Our Lord is He who gave each thing its form and then guided [it]."

அதற்கு மூஸா "எவன் ஒவ்வொரு பொருளுக்கும் அதற்குரிய இயற்கைத் தன்மையைக் கொடுத்து (அவைகளை பயன்படுத்தும்) வழியையும் (அவைகளுக்கு) அறிவித்தானோ அவன்தான் எங்கள் இறைவன்" என்றார்.

“ஒவ்வொரு பொருளுக்கும் அதற்கான அமைப்பை வழங்கி பின்னர் வழிகாட்டியிருக்கிறானே அவன்தான் எங்கள் இறைவன்” என்று கூறினார்.

(அதற்கு) “எவன் ஒவ்வொரு பொருளுக்கும் அதற்குரிய தோற்றத்தை கொடுத்து பின்னர் வழியையும் காட்டியிருக்கிறானோ அவன்தான் எங்கள் இரட்சகன்” என்று அவர் கூறினார்.

He said, “Our Lord is the One Who gave everything its form then guided it.”

Qala fama balu alqurooni aloola

[Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "What about the generations of old?"

[Pharaoh] said, "Then what is the case of the former generations?"

அதற்கவன் "முன்னர் சென்றுபோன (சிலை வணக்கம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்த)வர்களின் கதி என்னாகும்?" என்று கேட்டான்.

“அப்படியென்றால் முன் சென்ற தலைமுறைகளின் நிலைமை என்ன?” என்று கேட்டான்.

(அதற்கு) அவன் “முன்னர் சென்றுபோன தலைமுறையினரின் (உண்மை) நிலையாது?” என்று கேட்டான்.

Pharaoh said, “Then what about the former [disbelieving] nations?”

Qala AAilmuha AAinda rabbee fee kitabin la yadillu rabbee wala yansa

[Mûsâ (Moses)] said: "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord, in a Record. My Lord neither errs nor He forgets."

[Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets."

அதற்கவர் கூறினார்: "அதைப்பற்றிய ஞானம் என் இறைவனிடமிருக்கும் பதிவுப்புத்தகத்தில் இருக்கின்றது. அவன் (அவர்கள் செய்துகொண்டு இருந்ததில் யாதொன்றையும்) தவற விட்டுவிடவும் மாட்டான்; மறந்துவிடவும் மாட்டான்.

“இது பற்றிய அறிவு என்னுடைய இறைவனிடம் (பதிவுப்) புத்தகத்தில் இருக்கிறது; என் இறைவன் தவறுவதுமில்லை; மறப்பதுமில்லை” என்று (மூஸா பதில்) சொன்னார்.

அவர், “அது பற்றிய அறிவு என் இரட்சகனிடம் (இருக்கும் பதிவுப்) புத்தகத்தில் இருக்கின்றது, என் இரட்சகன் (அதில் யாதொன்றைத்) தவறிழைத்து (விட்டு)விடவுமாட்டான், மறந்துவிடவும்மாட்டான்” என்று கூறினார்.

He said, “Its knowledge is with my Lord in a Record. My Lord never errs, nor does He forget.”

Allathee jaAAala lakumu alarda mahdan wasalaka lakum feeha subulan waanzala mina alssamai maan faakhrajna bihi azwajan min nabatin shatta

Who has made earth for you like a bed (spread out); and has opened roads (ways and paths) for you therein, and has sent down water (rain) from the sky. And We have brought forth with it various kinds of vegetation.

[It is He] who has made for you the earth as a bed [spread out] and inserted therein for you roadways and sent down from the sky, rain and produced thereby categories of various plants.

அவன்தான் பூமியை உங்களுக்கு இருப்பிடமாக அமைத்து (நீங்கள் செல்லக்கூடிய) வழிகளையும் அதில் ஏற்படுத்தி மேகத்தில் இருந்து மழையையும் பொழியச் செய்கிறான்." (மேலும் என் இறைவன் கூறுகிறான்:) "நாம் இறக்கி வைக்கும் (ஒரே வித) மழை நீரைக் கொண்டு (குணத்திலும், ரசனையிலும்) பற்பல விதமான புற்பூண்டுகளை (ஆண், பெண்) ஜோடி ஜோடிகளாக நாம் வெளிப் படுத்துகின்றோம்.

“(அவனே) உங்களுக்காக இப்பூமியை ஒரு விரிப்பாக அமைத்தான்; இன்னும் அதில் உங்களுக்குப் பாதைகளை இலேசாக்கினான்; மேலும் வானத்திலிருந்து நீரையும் இறக்கினான்; இம் மழை நீரைக் கொண்டு நாம் பல விதமான தாவரவர்க்கங்களை ஜோடி ஜோடியாக வெளிப்படுத்துகிறோம்” (என்று இறைவன் கூறுகிறான்).

“(என்னுடைய இரட்சகன்) எத்தகையவனென்றால், அவன் பூமியை உங்களுக்கு விரிப்பாக அமைத்து, அதில் உங்களுக்காக பாதைகளையும் ஏற்படுத்தினான், மேலும், வானத்திலிருந்து (மழை) நீரை இறக்கினான், இதைக்கொண்டு நாம் பலதரப்பட்ட தாவரங்களிலிருந்து பல வகைகளை வெளிப்படுத்தி விட்டோம்” (என்று தன் இரட்சகனின் தகுதி பற்றி மூஸா கூறினார்).

It is He Who spread out the earth for you and made therein pathways for you, and sent down rain from the sky; and We brought forth thereby various types of plants.

Kuloo wairAAaw anAAamakum inna fee thalika laayatin liolee alnnuha

Eat and pasture your cattle (therein); verily, in this are Ayât (proofs and signs) for men of understanding.

Eat [therefrom] and pasture your livestock. Indeed, in that are signs for those of intelligence.

(ஆகவே, அவைகளை) நீங்களும் புசியுங்கள்; உங்கள் (ஆடு மாடு போன்ற) கால்நடைகளையும் மேயவிடுங்கள். அறிவுடையவர்களுக்கு நிச்சயமாக இதில் பல அத்தாட்சிகள் இருக்கின்றன.

“(அவற்றிலிருந்து) நீங்களும் புசித்து உங்கள் கால்நடைகளையும் மேய விடுங்கள்; நிச்சயமாக இதில் அறிவுடையோருக்குத் (தக்க) அத்தாட்சிகள் இருக்கின்றன.”

“(அவற்றை) நீங்களும் உண்ணுங்கள், உங்கள் (ஆடு, மாடு, ஒட்டகம் முதலிய) கால்நடைகளையும் மேயவிடுங்கள், அறிவுடையோருக்கு நிச்சயமாக இதில் பல அத்தாட்சிகள் இருக்கின்றன.

Eat and graze your livestock. Indeed, there are signs in this for people of sound intellect.

Minha khalaqnakum wafeeha nuAAeedukum waminha nukhrijukum taratan okhra

Thereof (the earth) We created you, and into it We shall return you, and from it We shall bring you out once again.

From the earth We created you, and into it We will return you, and from it We will extract you another time.

பூமியிலிருந்தே நாம் உங்களைப் படைத்தோம். பின்னர், அதிலேயே நாம் உங்களைச் சேர்த்துவிடுவோம். மற்றொரு தடவையும் (உங்களுக்கு உயிர் கொடுத்து) அதிலிருந்தே நாம் உங்களை வெளிப்படுத்துவோம்." (இவ்வாறு ஃபிர்அவ்னிடம் மூஸா கூறினார்.)

இப் பூமியிலிருந்து நாம் உங்களைப் படைத்தோம்; அதனுள்ளேயே நாம் உங்களை மீட்டுவோம்; இன்னும், அதிலிருந்தே நாம் உங்களை இரண்டாம் முறையாகவும் வெளிப்படுத்துவோம்.

(பூமியாகிய) அதிலிருந்தே நாம் உங்களைப் படைத்தோம், பின்னர், அதிலேயே நாம் உங்களை மீளவைப்போம், மற்றொரு தடவையும் (உங்களுக்கு உயிர் கொடுத்து) அதிலிருந்தே நாம் உங்களை வெளிப்படுத்துவோம்” (என்று அவனுக்குக் கூறும்படிச் செய்தோம்).

From this [earth] We created you, and to it We will return you, and from it We will raise you once again.

Walaqad araynahu ayatina kullaha fakaththaba waaba

And indeed We showed him [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] all Our Ayât (signs and evidences), but he denied and refused.

And We certainly showed Pharaoh Our signs - all of them - but he denied and refused.

நம்முடைய அத்தாட்சிகள் அனைத்தையும் அவனுக்குக் காண்பித்தோம். எனினும், அவனோ (இவை யாவும்) பொய்யெனக் கூறி (நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளாது) விலகிக்கொண்டான்.

நாம் நம்முடைய அத்தாட்சிகளையெல்லாம் ஃபிர்அவ்னுக்குக் காண்பித்தோம்; ஆனால் அவன் (அவற்றையெல்லாம்) பொய்யெனக் கூறி, நம்பிக்கை கொள்ள மறுத்து விட்டான்.

இன்னும், நம்முடைய அத்தாட்சிகளை-அவை யாவையும் நாம் அவனுக்குக் காண்பித்தோம், ஆனால் அவனோ (அவை யாவற்றையும்) பொய்ப்படுத்தி விட்டான், மேலும், (விசுவாசிக்காது) விலகிக் கொண்டான்.

We showed Pharaoh all Our signs, but he rejected them and refused to believe.

Qala ajitana litukhrijana min ardina bisihrika ya moosa

He [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "Have you come to drive us out of our land with your magic, O Mûsâ (Moses)?

He said, "Have you come to us to drive us out of our land with your magic, O Moses?

(அன்றி) "மூஸாவே! நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய சூனியத்தின் மூலம் எங்களை, எங்களின் ஊரைவிட்டு வெளியேற்றவா எங்களிடம் வந்தீர்கள்?

“மூஸாவே! நீர் உம் சூனியத்தைக் கொண்டு, எங்களை எங்கள் நாட்டை விட்டு வெளியேற்றுவதற்காகவா நம்மிடம் வந்தீர்?” என்று கூறினான்.

“மூஸாவே! உம்முடைய சூனியத்தின் மூலம் எங்களை எங்களின் பூமியைவிட்டு வெளியேற்றுவதற்காகவா எங்களிடம் நீர் வந்தீர்?” என்று கூறினான்.

He said, “Have you come to drive us out of our land with your magic, O Moses?

Falanatiyannaka bisihrin mithlihi faijAAal baynana wabaynaka mawAAidan la nukhlifuhu nahnu wala anta makanan suwan

"Then verily, we can produce magic the like thereof; so appoint a meeting between us and you, which neither we nor you shall fail to keep, in an open place where both shall have a just and equal chance (and beholders could witness the competition)."

Then we will surely bring you magic like it, so make between us and you an appointment, which we will not fail to keep and neither will you, in a place assigned."

இதைப்போன்ற சூனியத்தை நாங்களும் உங்களுக்குச் செய்து காண்பிப்போம். நாங்களோ அல்லது நீங்களோ தவறிவிடாது இருக்கக் கூடியவாறு ஒரு சமமான பூமியில் செய்து காண்பிக்க எங்களுக்கும் உங்களுக்குமிடையில் ஒரு தவணையைக் குறிப்பிடுங்கள்" என்று கூறினான்.

“அவ்வாறாயின் இதைப் போன்ற சூனியத்தை நாங்களும் உமக்குத் திடனாகச் செய்து காண்பிப்போம்; ஆகவே, நாங்களோ அல்லது நீரோ மாற்றம் செய்ய முடியாதபடி நமக்கும் உமக்குமிடையே ஒரு வார்த்தைப் பாட்டை (எல்லோரும் வந்து காணக் கூடிய) ஒரு சரியான தலத்தில் ஏற்படுத்தும் (என்றான்).

அவ்வாறாயின் இதைப்போன்ற சூனியத்தை (எதிராக)க் கொண்டு நிச்சயமாக நாங்களும் உம்மிடம் வருவோம், ஆகவே, நாங்களோ அல்லது நீரோ, மாறுபடாது இருக்கக்கூடியவாறு மையமான இடத்தில் நமக்கும், உமக்குமிடையே ஒரு தவணையை(க்குறிப்பிட்டு) ஆக்குவீராக! என்று கூறினான்.

We will surely bring you similar magic. So appoint a day between us that neither you nor we will fail to keep, in a convenient place.”

Qala mawAAidukum yawmu alzzeenati waan yuhshara alnnasu duhan

[Mûsâ (Moses)] said: "Your appointed meeting is the day of the festival, and let the people assemble when the sun has risen (forenoon)."

[Moses] said, "Your appointment is on the day of the festival when the people assemble at mid-morning."

அதற்கு மூஸா "உங்கள் பண்டிகை நாளே உங்களுக்குத் தவணையாகும். ஆனால், மக்கள் அனைவரும் முற்பகலிலேயே கூடிவிடவேண்டும்" என்று கூறினார்.

“யவ்முஜ் ஸீனத்” (பண்டிகை நாளே) உங்களுடைய தவணையாகவும், மக்கள் யாவரும் ஒன்று சேரப்பெறும் ளுஹா (முற் பகல்) நேரமும் ஆக இருக்கட்டும்” என்று சொன்னார்.

(அதற்கு மூஸா “உங்கள்) பண்டிகை நாளே உங்களுக்குத் தவணையாகும், இன்னும், மனிதர்கள் யாவரும் முற்பகலிலேயே ஒன்று திரட்டப்பட்டுவிட வேண்டும்” என்று கூறினார்.

Moses said, “Your appointment is the festival day; let the people be gathered at forenoon.”

Fatawalla firAAawnu fajamaAAa kaydahu thumma ata

So Fir'aun (Pharaoh) withdrew, devised his plot and then came back.

So Pharaoh went away, put together his plan, and then came [to Moses].

பின்னர், ஃபிர்அவ்ன் அவரைவிட்டு விலகி (தன் இருப்பிடம் சென்று சூனியத்திற்குரிய) தன்னுடைய எல்லா சூழ்ச்சிகளையும் சேகரித்துக் கொண்டு பின்பு (குறித்த நாளில், குறித்த இடத்திற்கு) வந்தான்.

அவ்வாறே ஃபிர்அவ்ன் திரும்பிச் சென்று, (சூனியத்திற்கான) சூழ்ச்சிக்காரர்களை ஒன்று திரட்டிக் கொண்டு, மீண்டும் வந்தான்.

பின்னர், ஃபிர்அவன் (அங்கிருந்து) திரும்பிச்சென்று, (சூனியத்திற்குரிய) தன்னுடைய (சகல) சூழ்ச்சிகளையும் சேகரித்துக் கொண்டு பின்னர் (குறித்த இடத்திற்கு) வந்தான்.

So Pharaoh went away and put together his scheme, then came forth.

Qala lahum moosa waylakum la taftaroo AAala Allahi kathiban fayushitakum biAAathabin waqad khaba mani iftara

Mûsâ (Moses) said to them: "Woe to you! Invent not a lie against Allâh, lest He should destroy you completely by a torment. And surely, he who invents a lie (against Allâh) will fail miserably."

Moses said to the magicians summoned by Pharaoh, "Woe to you! Do not invent a lie against Allah or He will exterminate you with a punishment; and he has failed who invents [such falsehood]."

மூஸா (அங்கு கூடியிருந்த மக்களை நோக்கி) "உங்களுக்கென்ன கேடு? அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது அபாண்டமாகப் பொய்யைக் கற்பனை செய்து கூறாதீர்கள். (அவ்வாறு கூறினால்) அவன் (தன்) வேதனையைக்கொண்டு உங்களை அழித்துவிடுவான். பொய் சொன்னவர்களெல்லாம் அழிந்தே போனார்கள்" என்று கூறினார்.

(அப்பொழுது) மூஸா சூனியக் காரர்களிடம் “உங்களுக்குக் கேடுதான்! அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது பொய்யை இட்டுக் கட்டாதீர்கள், (அவ்வாறு செய்தால்) அவன் வேதனையினால் உங்களை அழித்து விடுவான்; எவன் பொய்யை இட்டுக் கட்டுகிறானோ, திடனாக அவன் (நற்பேறு கெட்டு) அழிந்து விட்டான்” என்று கூறினார்.

மூஸா, அ(ங்கு கூடியிருந்த)வர்களிடம், “உங்களுக்குக் கேடுதான், அல்லாஹ்வின்மீது பொய்யை இட்டுக் கட்டாதீர்கள், (அவ்வாறு செய்தால்) அவன் (தன்)வேதனையைக் கொண்டு உங்களை அழித்து விடுவான், இன்னும், எவன் (பொய்யை) இட்டுக்கட்டுகிறானோ திட்டமாக அவன் நஷ்டப்பட்டுவிட்டான்” என்று கூறினார்.

Moses said to them, “Woe to you, do not fabricate lies against Allah, lest He exterminate you with a punishment. Those who fabricate lies are bound to fail.”

FatanazaAAoo amrahum baynahum waasarroo alnnajwa

Then they debated one with another what they must do, and they kept their talk secret.

So they disputed over their affair among themselves and concealed their private conversation.

(இதைக் கேட்ட) அவர்கள் தங்களுக்குள் இதைப் பற்றித்தர்க்கித்துக் கொண்டு இரகசியமாகவும் ஆலோசனை செய்து (ஒரு முடிவு கட்டிக்) கொண்டனர்.

சூனியக்காரர்கள் தமக்குள்ளே தங்கள் காரியத்தைக் குறித்து(த் தங்களிடையே) விவாதித்து, (அவ்விவாதத்தை) இரகசிய ஆலோசனையாகவும் வைத்துக் கொண்டனர்.

(இதைக்கேட்ட) அவர்கள், தங்களுடைய காரியத்தில் தங்களுக்கிடையே தர்க்கித்துக் கொண்டு, இரகசியமாக ஆலோசனையும் செய்தனர்.

Then they disputed the matter among themselves, and kept their talk private.

Qaloo in hathani lasahirani yureedani an yukhrijakum min ardikum bisihrihima wayathhaba bitareeqatikumu almuthla

They said: "Verily, these are two magicians. Their object is to drive you out from your land with their magic, and to take you away from your superior way (overcome your chiefs and nobles).

They said, "Indeed, these are two magicians who want to drive you out of your land with their magic and do away with your most exemplary way.

அவர்கள் (மக்களை நோக்கி) "நிச்சயமாக இவ்விருவரும் சூனியக்காரர்களே! தங்களுடைய சூனியத்தின் மூலம் உங்களை உங்களுடைய இவ்வூரை விட்டு வெளியேற்றி விடவும், உங்களுடைய மேலான மார்க்கத்தை அழித்து விடவும் விரும்புகிறார்கள்.

(சூனியக்காரர்கள் மக்களை நோக்கி:) “நிச்சயமாக இவ்விருவரும் சூனியக்காரர்களே! தம்மிருவருடைய சூனியத்தைக் கொண்டு உங்களை உங்களுடைய நாட்டை விட்டு வெளியேற்றவும், சிறப்பான உங்களுடைய (மார்க்கப்) பாதையைப் போக்கிவிடவுமே இவ்விருவரும் விரும்புகிறார்கள்.

அவர்கள், “நிச்சயமாக இவ்விருவரும் இரு சூனியக்காரர்களே! தங்களுடைய சூனியத்தினால் உங்களை, உங்களுடைய பூமியை விட்டும் இவ்விருவரும் வெளியேற்றி விடவும், உங்களுடைய மேலான (மார்க்கப்)பாதையை இருவரும் போக்கிவிடவும் இவ்விருவரும் நாடுகிறார்கள்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

They said, “These two are merely magicians who want to drive you out of your land with their magic and destroy your exemplary way of life.

FaajmiAAoo kaydakum thumma itoo saffan waqad aflaha alyawma mani istaAAla

"So devise your plot, and then assemble in line. And whoever overcomes this day will be indeed successful."

So resolve upon your plan and then come [forward] in line. And he has succeeded today who overcomes."

ஆதலால் உங்கள் சூனியங்கள் அனைத்தையும் ஒன்று சேர்த்துக் கொண்டு பின்பு (அவரை எதிர்க்க) அணியணியாக வாருங்கள். இன்றைய தினம் எவருடைய காரியம் மேலோங்கியதோ அவரே நிச்சயமாக வெற்றி பெறுவார்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

“ஆகவே உங்கள் திட்டத்தை ஒரு சேரத் தீர்மானித்துக் கொண்டு அணி அணியாக வாருங்கள்; இன்றைய தினம் எவருடைய (கை) மேலோங்குகிறதோ, நிச்சயமாக அவர்தாம் வெற்றியடைவார்” (என்றுங் கூறினார்).

“ஆதலால் உங்கள் சூழ்ச்சித் திட்டத்தில் நீங்கள் உறுதிகொண்டு அதன் பின்னர் அணியாக வாருங்கள், (இன்றையத்தினம்) மற்றவரை மிகைத்துவிட்டவர் திட்டமாக வெற்றி பெறுவார்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

So gather your scheme, then line up in a row. Whoever prevails today is indeed the victor.”

Qaloo ya moosa imma an tulqiya waimma an nakoona awwala man alqa

They said:"O Mûsâ (Moses)! Either you throw first or we be the first to throw?"

They said, "O Moses, either you throw or we will be the first to throw."

பின்னர் (சூனியம் செய்ய வந்த) அவர்கள் (மூஸாவை நோக்கி) "மூஸாவே! (சூனியத்தை) நீங்கள் எறிகின்றீர்களா? அல்லது முதலாவதாக நாங்கள் எறியவா?" என்று கேட்டார்கள்.

“மூஸாவே! நீர் எறிகின்றீரா? எறிகிறவர்களில் நாங்கள் முதலாவதாக இருக்கட்டுமா?” என்று (சூனியக்காரர்கள்) கேட்டனர்.

பின்னர், (சூனியம் செய்ய வந்த) அவர்கள், (மூஸாவிடம்) “மூஸாவே! ஒன்று நீர் போடுகிறீரா? அல்லது போடுபவரில் முதலாவதாக நாங்கள் இருக்கவா?” என்று கேட்டார்கள்.

They said, “O Moses, either you throw or shall we be the first to throw!”

Qala bal alqoo faitha hibaluhum waAAisiyyuhum yukhayyalu ilayhi min sihrihim annaha tasAAa

[Mûsâ (Moses)] said: "Nay, throw you (first)!" Then behold! their ropes and their sticks, by their magic, appeared to him as though they moved fast.

He said, "Rather, you throw." And suddenly their ropes and staffs seemed to him from their magic that they were moving [like snakes].

அதற்கவர் "நீங்களே (முதலாவதாக) எறியுங்கள்" என்று கூறினார். (அவர்கள் எறியவே எறிந்த) அவர்களுடைய கயிறுகளும், அவர்களுடைய தடிகளும் அவர்களுடைய சூனியத்தின் காரணமாக மெய்யாகவே அவை (பாம்புகளாகி) ஓடுவது போல் இவருக்குத் தோன்றின.

அதற்கவர்: “அவ்வாறன்று! நீங்களே (முதலில்) எறியுங்கள்” என்று (மூஸா) கூறினார். (அவர்கள் எறியவே) அவர்களுடைய கயிறுகளும் அவர்களுடைய தடிகளும் அவர்கள் சூனியத்தால் (பாம்புகளாக) நிச்சயமாக நெளிந்தோடுவது போல் அவருக்குத் தோன்றியது.

அ(தற்)கவர் “அவ்வாறன்று, நீங்கள் (முதலில்) போடுங்கள்” என்று கூறினார், (அவர்கள் போடவே, போடப்பட்ட) அந்நேரத்தில் அவர்களுடைய கயிறுகளும், அவர்களுடைய தடிகளும், அவர்களின் சூனியத்தின் காரணமாக, நிச்சயமாகவே அவை (பாம்புகளாக) விரைந்து ஓடுவதுபோல் இவருக்குத் தோன்றியது.

He said, “No; you throw first.” Suddenly their ropes and staffs appeared to him, owing to their magic, as if they were slithering.

Faawjasa fee nafsihi kheefatan moosa

So Mûsâ (Moses) conceived fear in himself.

And he sensed within himself apprehension, did Moses.

ஆகவே, மூஸா தன் மனதில் பயத்தை உணர்ந்தார்.

அப்போது, மூஸா தம் மனதில் அச்சம் கொண்டார்.

ஆகவே, மூஸா தன் மனதில் பயத்தை உணர்ந்தார்.

Then Moses sensed fear within himself.

Qulna la takhaf innaka anta alaAAla

We (Allâh) said: "Fear not! Surely, you will have the upper hand.

Allah said, "Fear not. Indeed, it is you who are superior.

(அச்சமயம் நாம் அவரை நோக்கி) "நீங்கள் பயப்படாதீர்கள்! நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள்தான் உயர்ந்தவர்" என்று கூறினோம்.

“(மூஸாவே!) நீர் பயப்படாதீர்! நிச்சயமாக நீர் தாம் மேலோங்கி நிற்பீர்!” என்று நாம் சொன்னோம்.

(அது சமயம் அவரிடம்,) “நீர் பயப்படாதீர், நிச்சயமாக நீர் தான் (இந்த சூனியக்காரர்களை மிகைத்து) மிக மேலோங்கியவர்” என்று நாம் கூறினோம்.

We said, “Do not be afraid; it is you who will prevail.

Waalqi ma fee yameenika talqaf ma sanaAAoo innama sanaAAoo kaydu sahirin wala yuflihu alssahiru haythu ata

"And throw that which is in your right hand! It will swallow up that which they have made. That which they have made is only a magician's trick, and the magician will never be successful, to whatever amount (of skill) he may attain."

And throw what is in your right hand; it will swallow up what they have crafted. What they have crafted is but the trick of a magician, and the magician will not succeed wherever he is."

அன்றி, உங்களது வலது கையில் இருப்பதை நீங்கள் எறியுங்கள்! அவர்கள் செய்த (சூனியங்கள்) அனைத்தையும் அது விழுங்கிவிடும். அவர்கள் செய்ததெல்லாம் சூனியக்காரர்களின் (வெறும்) சூழ்ச்சியே(யன்றி உண்மையல்ல). சூனியக்காரர்கள் எங்கிருந்து வந்தபோதிலும் வெற்றி பெறவே மாட்டார்கள்" (என்றும் கூறினோம்).

“இன்னும், உம் வலது கையில் இருப்பதை நீர் கீழே எறியும்; அவர்கள் செய்த (சூனியங்கள் யா)வற்றையும் அது விழுங்கி விடும்; அவர்கள் செய்தது சூனியக்காரனின் சூழ்ச்சியே ஆகும்; ஆகவே சூனியக்காரன் எங்கு சென்றாலும் வெற்றி பெற மாட்டான்” (என்றும் கூறினோம்).

மேலும், “உமது வலக்கையில் இருப்பதை நீர் போடுவீராக, அவர்கள் செய்தவற்றை அது விழுங்கிவிடும், அவர்கள் செய்ததெல்லாம் சூனியக்காரரின் சூழ்ச்சியே ஆகும், சூனியக்காரன் எங்கு வந்தபோதிலும் வெற்றி பெறமாட்டான்? “ (என்றும் கூறினோம்).

Throw what is in your right hand; it will swallow up what they have contrived. They have only contrived a magic trick, and the magician will never prosper, wherever he goes.”

Faolqiya alssaharatu sujjadan qaloo amanna birabbi haroona wamoosa

So, the magicians fell down prostrate. They said: "We believe in the Lord of Hârûn (Aaron) and Mûsâ (Moses)."

So the magicians fell down in prostration. They said, "We have believed in the Lord of Aaron and Moses."

(மூஸா தன் தடியை எறியவே அது பெரியதொரு பாம்பாகி, அவர்கள் செய்திருந்த சூனியங்கள் அனைத்தையும் விழுங்கி விட்டது. இதனைக் கண்ணுற்ற) அச்சூனியக்காரர்கள் சிரம் பணிந்தவர்களாக வீழ்த்தப்பட்டு "நாங்களும் மூஸா, ஹாரூன் (ஆகிய இவ்விருவருடைய) இறைவனை நம்பிக்கை கொண்டோம்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

(மூஸா வெற்றி பெற்றதும்) சூனியக்காரர்கள் ஸுஜூது செய்தவர்களாக வீழ்த்தப்பட்டு - “ஹாரூனுடைய மூஸாவுடைய இறைவன் மீதே நாங்கள் ஈமான் கொள்கிறோம்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

(மூஸா மேலோங்கிய பொழுது) அச்சூனியக்காரர்கள் சிரம் பணிந்தவர்களாக (ஸஜ்தாவில்) வீழ்த்தப்பட்டு, நாங்கள் ஹாரூன், மூஸா ஆகிய இவ்விருவருடைய இரட்சகனை(க் கொண்டு) விசுவாசித்து விட்டோம்”, என்று கூறினார்கள்.

So the magicians fell down in prostration, saying, “We believe in the Lord of Aaron and Moses.”

Qala amantum lahu qabla an athana lakum innahu lakabeerukumu allathee AAallamakumu alssihra falaoqattiAAanna aydiyakum waarjulakum min khilafin walaosallibannakum fee juthooAAi alnnakhli walataAAlamunna ayyuna ashaddu AAathaban waabqa

[Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "Believe you in him [Mûsâ (Moses)] before I give you permission? Verily, he is your chief who has taught you magic. So, I will surely cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you on the trunks of date palms, and you shall surely know which of us [I (Fir'aun – Pharaoh) or the Lord of Mûsâ (Moses) (Allâh)] can give the severe and more lasting torment."

[Pharaoh] said, "You believed him before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic. So I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will crucify you on the trunks of palm trees, and you will surely know which of us is more severe in [giving] punishment and more enduring."

(இதனைக் கண்ட ஃபிர்அவ்ன்) "நான் உங்களுக்கு அனுமதியளிப்பதற்கு முன்னரே நீங்கள் அவரை நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு விட்டீர்கள். நிச்சயமாக அவர்தாம் உங்களுக்குச் சூனியத்தைக் கற்றுக் கொடுத்த உங்களுடைய தலைவராயிருக்கும் (போல் தோன்றுகிறது). உங்களுடைய மாறு கை, மாறு காலை வெட்டிப் பேரீச்ச மரத்தின் வேர்களில் நிச்சயமாக உங்களைக் கழுவேற்றி விடுவேன். நிலையான வேதனை கொடுப்பதில் நம்மில் கடுமையானவர் யார் என்பதையும் நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொள்வீர்கள்" என்று கூறினான்.

“நான் உங்களை அனுமதிக்கும் முன்னரே நீங்கள் அவர் மேல் ஈமான் கொண்டு விட்டீர்களா? நிச்சயமாக அவர் உங்களுக்குச் சூனியத்தைக் கற்றுக் கொடுத்த தலைவர் (போல் தோன்றுகிறது); எனவே, நான் உங்களை மாறு கை, மாறு கால் வாங்கி, பேரீத்த மரக்கட்டைகளில் உங்களைக் கழுவேற்றுவேன்; மேலும் வேதனை கொடுப்பதில் நம்மில் கடுமையானவர் யார், அதில் நிலையாக இருப்பவரும் யார் என்பதை நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொள்வீர்கள்” என்று (ஃபிர்அவ்ன்) கூறினான்.

(இதனைக் கண்ட ஃபிர் அவ்ன்) “நான் உங்களுக்கு அனுமதியளிப்பதற்கு முன் அவருக்கு நீங்கள் விசுவாசங்கொண்டு விட்டீர்கள், உங்களுக்கு சூனியத்தைக் கற்றுக் கொடுத்தாரே அத்தகைய உங்களின் பெரியவர் நிச்சயமாக அவர்தான், ஆகவே, நிச்சயமாக நான் உங்களது கைகளையும், உங்களது கால்களையும், மாறாக (ஒரு பக்கத்துக் காலையும் மறு பக்கத்துக் கையையும்) துண்டிப்பேன், இன்னும் பேரீச்ச மரங்களின் அடிப்பாகங்களில் உங்களை நிச்சயமாக நான் கழுவேற்றுவேன், வேதனை செய்வதில் மிகக் கடுமையானவரும், (அவ்வேதனையில்) மிக நிலையானவரும் நம்மில் யார் என நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொள்வீர்கள்” என்று கூறினான்.

Pharaoh said, “How dare you believe in him before I give you permission! He must be your master who taught you magic! I will surely cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, and I will crucify you on the trunks of palm trees; you will surely know whose punishment is more severe and more lasting!”

Qaloo lan nuthiraka AAala ma jaana mina albayyinati waallathee fatarana faiqdi ma anta qadin innama taqdee hathihi alhayata alddunya

They said: "We prefer you not over what have come to us of the clear signs and to Him (Allâh) Who created us. So, decree whatever you desire to decree, for you can only decree (regarding) this life of the world.

They said, "Never will we prefer you over what has come to us of clear proofs and [over] He who created us. So decree whatever you are to decree. You can only decree for this worldly life.

அதற்கவர்கள் (ஃபிர்அவ்னை நோக்கி) "எங்களிடம் தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகள் வந்ததன் பின்னர் எங்களைப் படைத்தவனைப் புறக்கணித்து விட்டு உன்னை நாங்கள் ஒரு காலத்திலும் விரும்பவே மாட்டோம். உன்னால் இயன்றதை நீ செய்துகொள். நீ செய்யக்கூடியதெல்லாம் இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையில் தான்.

(மனந்திருந்திய அவர்கள் ஃபிர்அவ்னிடம்) “எங்களுக்கு வந்துள்ள தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகளை விடவும், எங்களைப் படைத்தவனை விடவும் உன்னை (மேலானவனாக) நாங்கள் எடுத்துக் கொள்ள மாட்டோம்; ஆகவே என்ன தீர்ப்புச் செய்ய நீ இருக்கிறாயோ அவ்வாறே தீர்ப்புச் செய்துகொள்; நீ தீர்ப்புச் செய்வதெல்லாம் இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையில் தான்” என்று கூறினார்.

(அதற்கவர்கள் ஃபிர் அவ்னிடம்) “எங்களுக்கு வந்துவிட்ட தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகளை விடவும், எங்களைப் படைத்தானே அவனைவிடவும், உன்னை நாங்கள் (பெரிதாகக் கருதி) தேர்வு செய்யமாட்டோம், ஆகவே எதை நீ தீர்ப்புக் கூற இருக்கிறாயோ (அதை) நீ தீர்ப்புக் கூறிவிடு, நீ தீர்ப்புக் கூறுவதெல்லாம் இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையில்தான்” என்று கூறினர்.

They said, “We will never choose you over the clear signs that have come to us, or over the One Who created us. So decide whatever you will. You can only make a decision about the life of this world.

Inna amanna birabbina liyaghfira lana khatayana wama akrahtana AAalayhi mina alssihri waAllahu khayrun waabqa

"Verily, we have believed in our Lord, that He may forgive us our faults, and the magic to which you did compel us. And Allâh is better [as regards reward in comparison to your Fir'aun's (Pharaoh's) reward], and more lasting (as regards punishment in comparison to your punishment)."

Indeed, we have believed in our Lord that He may forgive us our sins and what you compelled us [to do] of magic. And Allah is better and more enduring."

நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் (மெய்யான) எங்கள் இறைவனையே நம்பிக்கை கொள்வோம். எங்களுடைய குற்றங்களையும் உன்னுடைய நிர்ப்பந்தத்தினால் நாங்கள் செய்த சூனிய(த்தின் குற்ற)ங்களையும் அவன் எங்களுக்கு மன்னித்து விடுவான். அல்லாஹ்தான் (உன்னைவிட) மிக்க மேலானவனும், என்றும் நிலைத்திருப்பவனும் ஆவான்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

“எங்களின் தவறுகளையும், எங்களை நீ கட்டாயப் படுத்தியதினால் (நாங்கள் செய்ய நேர்ந்த) சூனியத்தையும், எங்களுக்கு மன்னிப்பதற்காக எங்கள் இறைவன் மீது நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் ஈமான் கொண்டோம்; மேலும், அல்லாஹ் தான் மிக்க மேலானவனாகவும், (என்றும்) நிலைத்திருப்பவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்” (என்று கூறினார்கள்).

“நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள், (மெய்யான) எங்கள் இரட்சகனையே விசுவாசித்திருந்தோம், எங்களுடைய குற்றங்களையும், உன்னுடைய நிர்ப்பந்தத்தினால் நாங்கள் செய்த சூனிய(த்தின் குற்ற)ங்களையும் அவன் எங்களுக்கு மன்னித்துவிடுவான், அல்லாஹ் மிக்க மேலானவனும், நிலைத்திருப்பவனும் ஆவான்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

We surely believe in our Lord so that He may forgive us our sins and the magic that you have compelled us to practice, for Allah is best [in reward] and more lasting [in punishment].”

Innahu man yati rabbahu mujriman fainna lahu jahannama la yamootu feeha wala yahya

Verily, whoever comes to his Lord as a Mujrim (criminal, polytheist, sinner, disbeliever in the Oneness of Allâh and His Messengers), then surely, for him is Hell, wherein he will neither die nor live.

Indeed, whoever comes to his Lord as a criminal - indeed, for him is Hell; he will neither die therein nor live.

உண்மையாகவே எவன் குற்றவாளியாகத் தன் இறைவனிடம் வருகின்றானோ அவனுக்கு நிச்சயமாக நரகம்தான் கூலியாகும். அதில் அவன் சாகவும் மாட்டான்; (சுகத்துடன்) வாழவும் மாட்டான். (வேதனையை அனுபவித்துக் கொண்டு குற்றுயிராகவே கிடப்பான்.)

நிச்சயமாக எவன் தன் இறைவனிடத்தில் குற்றவாளியாக வருகிறானோ, அவனுக்கு நரகம் நிச்சயமாக இருக்கிறது; அதில் அவன் மரிக்கவும் மாட்டான் வாழவும் மாட்டான்.

நிச்சயமாக எவன் தன் இரட்சகனிடம் குற்றவாளியாக வருகின்றானோ, அவனுக்கு நிச்சயமாக நரகம் இருக்கிறது, அதில் அவன் சாகவும் மாட்டான், (சுகத்துடன்) வாழவும் மாட்டான், (வேதனையை அனுபவித்துக் கொண்டேயிருப்பான்).

Whoever comes to his Lord as an evildoer, for him is Hell; he will neither die therein nor live.

Waman yatihi muminan qad AAamila alssalihati faolaika lahumu alddarajatu alAAula

But whoever comes to Him (Allâh) as a believer (in the Oneness of Allâh), and has done righteous good deeds, for such are the high ranks (in the Hereafter), –

But whoever comes to Him as a believer having done righteous deeds - for those will be the highest degrees [in position]:

எவர் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டவராக நற்செயல்களைச் செய்து (தன் இறைவனிடம்) வருகின்றாரோ அத்தகையவருக்கு மேலான பதவிகள் இருக்கின்றன.

ஆனால், எவர்கள் முஃமினாக, ஸாலிஹான (நல்ல) செயல்களைச் செய்தவர்களாக அவனிடம் வருகிறார்களோ, அவர்களுக்கு மேலான பதவிகள் உண்டு.

மேலும், எவர் விசுவாசங்கொண்டவராக, திட்டமாக நற்கருமங்களைச் செய்த நிலையில் (அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) அவனிடத்தில் வருகின்றாரோ – அத்தகையோர்களுக்கு உயர் பதவிகள் இருக்கின்றன.

But whoever comes to Him as a believer, having done righteous deeds, it is they who will have the highest ranks:

Jannatu AAadnin tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha wathalika jazao man tazakka

'Adn (Eden) Paradise (everlasting Gardens), under which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever, and such is the reward of those who purify themselves (by abstaining from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which Allâh has forbidden and by doing all that Allâh has ordained).

Gardens of perpetual residence beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. And that is the reward of one who purifies himself.

(மறுமையிலோ அவர்களுக்கு) "அத்ன்" என்ற நிலையான சுவனபதிகள் உள்ளன. அவற்றில் நீரருவிகள் தொடர்ந்து ஓடிக் கொண்டேயிருக்கும். அவற்றில் என்றென்றுமே தங்கிவிடுவார்கள். இதுதான் பரிசுத்தவான்களுடைய கூலியாகும்.

(அத்தகையவர்க்கு) என்றென்றும் நிலைத்திருக்கும் சுவனபதிகள் உண்டு; அவற்றின் கீழே ஆறுகள் ஓடிக் கொண்டிருக்கும்; அவற்றில் அவர் என்றென்றும் வசிப்பர்; இதுவே (பாவங்கள் நீங்கித்) தூய்மையானவர்களின் (நற்) கூலியாகும்.

(அத்தகையோருக்கு) நிலையான சொர்க்கங்கள் உண்டு, அவற்றின் கீழ் ஆறுகள் ஓடிக் கொண்டிருக்கும், அவற்றில் அவர்கள் நிரந்தரமாக(த்தங்கி) இருப்பவர்கள், மேலும், அது பரிசுத்தமானவருடைய கூலியாகும்.

Gardens of Eternity, under which rivers flow, abiding therein forever. Such is the reward of those who purify themselves.

Walaqad awhayna ila moosa an asri biAAibadee faidrib lahum tareeqan fee albahri yabasan la takhafu darakan wala takhsha

And indeed We revealed to Mûsâ (Moses) (saying): "Travel by night with 'Ibâdi (My slaves) and strike a dry path for them in the sea, fearing neither to be overtaken [by Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] nor being afraid (of drowning in the sea)."

And We had inspired to Moses, "Travel by night with My servants and strike for them a dry path through the sea; you will not fear being overtaken [by Pharaoh] nor be afraid [of drowning]."

நிச்சயமாக நாம் மூஸாவுக்கு வஹ்யி மூலம் அறிவித்தோம். "நீங்கள் என்னுடைய அடியார்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டு இரவோடு இரவாக நடந்து (சென்று) விடுங்கள். (வழியில் குறுக்கிடும்) கடலில் (உங்களது தடியால் அடித்து) உலர்ந்த வழியை அவர்களுக்கு ஏற்படுத்துங்கள். (உங்களை எதிரிகள்) அடைந்து விடுவார்களென்று நீங்கள் பயப்பட வேண்டாம். (அக்கடலில் உங்களுடைய மக்கள் மூழ்கி விடுவார்கள் என்றும்) நீங்கள் அஞ்சாதீர்கள்" (என்றும் அறிவித்தோம்).

இன்னும்: “நீர் என் அடியார்களுடன் இரவோடிரவாகப் பயணம் செய்து, அவர்களுக்காக கடலில் உலர்ந்த பாதையை உண்டாக்கிக் கொள்வீராக! (ஃபிர்அவ்ன் உம்மைப்) பிடித்துவிடுவான் என்று பயப்படாமலும், (கடலில் மூழ்கி விடுவோம் என்று) அஞ்சாமலும் இருப்பீராக!” என்று மூஸாவுக்கு நாம் திட்டமாக வஹீ அறிவித்தோம்.

மேலும், நிச்சயமாக நாம் மூஸாவுக்கு “நீர் என்னுடைய அடியார்களை அழைத்துக் கொண்டு, இரவில் சென்றுவிடுவீராக! (வழியில்) கடலில் (உமது தடியால்) அடித்து உலர்ந்த வழியை அவர்களுக்கு ஏற்படுத்துவீராக! (உம்மை ஃபிர் அவ்ன்) அடைத்து விடுவானென்று நீர் பயப்படவேண்டாம், (கடலில் மூழ்கிவிடுவோம் என) நீர் அஞ்சவும் வேண்டாம் என்றும் அறிவித்தோம்.

We inspired Moses, “Travel by night with My slaves, and strike for them a dry path across the sea. Have no fear of being overtaken, nor be afraid [of drowning].”

FaatbaAAahum firAAawnu bijunoodihi faghashiyahum mina alyammi ma ghashiyahum

Then Fir'aun (Pharaoh) pursued them with his hosts, but the sea water completely overwhelmed them and covered them up.

So Pharaoh pursued them with his soldiers, and there covered them from the sea that which covered them,

(அவ்வாறே மூஸா நபி இஸ்ரவேலர்களை அழைத்துக் கொண்டு சென்றுவிடவே) ஃபிர்அவ்ன் தன் சேனைகளுடன் அவர்களைப் பின்பற்றிச் சென்றான். (சென்ற அவன் கடலில் அவர்களைப் பின்பற்றிச் செல்லவே) கடலும் (இவர்களில் ஒருவரும் தப்பாது) இவர்களை மூழ்கடிக்க வேண்டியவாறு மூழ்கடித்து விட்டது.

மேலும் ஃபிர்அவ்ன் தன் சேனைகளுடன் அவர்களைப் பின் தொடர்ந்தான்; ஆனால் கடல் அவர்களை முற்றாக மூழ்கடித்து விட்டது.

ஃபிர் அவன், தன் படைகளுடன் அவர்களைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து சென்றான், அப்போது அவர்களை மூடிக்கொள்கிற (அலையான)து அவர்களை மூடிக்கொண்டது.

Then Pharaoh pursued them with his soldiers, but they were completely overwhelmed by the sea.

Waadalla firAAawnu qawmahu wama hada

And Fir'aun (Pharaoh) led his people astray, and he did not guide them.

And Pharaoh led his people astray and did not guide [them].

ஃபிர்அவ்ன் தன் மக்களை நேரான வழியில் செலுத்தாமல் தவறான வழியிலேயே செலுத்தினான்.

ஃபிர்அவ்ன் தன் சமூகத்தாரை வழி கெடுத்தான்; நேரான பாதையை (அவர்களுக்குக்) காட்டவுமில்லை.

ஃபிர் அவ்ன் தன் சமூகத்தாரை வழி கெடுத்தான், (அவர்களுக்கு) நேர் வழியை அவன் காட்டவுமில்லை.

Thus Pharaoh led his people astray, and did not guide them.

Ya banee israeela qad anjaynakum min AAaduwwikum wawaAAadnakum janiba alttoori alaymana wanazzalna AAalaykumu almanna waalssalwa

O Children of Israel! We delivered you from your enemy, and We made a covenant with you on the right side of the Mount, and We sent down to you Al-Manna and quail,

O Children of Israel, We delivered you from your enemy, and We made an appointment with you at the right side of the mount, and We sent down to you manna and quails,

இஸ்ராயீலின் சந்ததிகளே! நிச்சயமாக நாம் உங்களை உங்களுடைய எதிரிகளிடமிருந்து காப்பாற்றி "தூர்" என்னும் மலையின் வலது பாக(ம் வந்தால் உங்களுக்குத் தவ்றாத்)த்தை(த் தருவதாக) வாக்களித்து (உணவு கிடைக்காத பாலைவனத்தில்) உங்களுக்கு "மன்னு சல்வா"வையும் இறக்கி வைத்தோம்.

“இஸ்ராயீலின் சந்ததியினரே! நாம் திட்டமாக உங்களை உங்கள் பகைவனிடமிருந்து இரட்சித்தோம்; மேலும், தூர்(ஸினாய் மலையின்) வலப்பக்கத்தில் நாம் (தவ்ராத் வேதத்தை அருள்வதாக) உங்களுக்கு வாக்குறுதியளித்தோம்; இன்னும் “மன்னு ஸல்வாவை” (உணவாக) உங்கள் மீது நாம் இறக்கி வைத்தோம்.

“இஸ்ராயீலின் மக்களே! நிச்சயமாக நாம் உங்களை, உங்களுடைய பகைவனிடமிருந்து ஈடேற்றிக் கொண்டோம், (ஸினாய் மலையான) ‘தூரின்’ வலப்பாகத்தை உங்களுக்கு நாம் வாக்களித்தோம், உணவாக உங்களுக்கு ‘மன்னு ஸல்வா’வையும் இறக்கி வைத்தோம்.

O Children of Israel, We rescued you from your enemy, and made an appointment with you on the right side of Mount Tūr [in Sinai], and sent down for you manna and quails,

Kuloo min tayyibati ma razaqnakum wala tatghaw feehi fayahilla AAalaykum ghadabee waman yahlil AAalayhi ghadabee faqad hawa

(Saying) eat of the Tayyibât (good lawful things) wherewith We have provided you, and commit no transgression or oppression therein, lest My Anger should justly descend on you. And he on whom My Anger descends, he is indeed perished. (Tafsir At-Tabari)

[Saying], "Eat from the good things with which We have provided you and do not transgress [or oppress others] therein, lest My anger should descend upon you. And he upon whom My anger descends has certainly fallen."

நாம் உங்களுக்கு அளித்தவற்றில் நல்லதைப் புசித்து வாருங்கள். அதில் நீங்கள் வரம்பு மீறிவிடாதீர்கள். (மீறினால்) உங்க மீது என் கோபம் இறங்கிவிடும். எவன்மீது என்னுடைய கோபம் இறங்குகின்றதோ அவன் நிச்சயமாக அழிந்தே விடுவான்.

“நாம் உங்களுக்கு அளித்துள்ள தூய்மையானவற்றிலிருந்து உண்ணுங்கள்; (அதற்கு நன்றி செலுத்தாமல்) அழிச்சாட்டியம் செய்யாதீர்கள்; (அப்படி செய்வீர்களானால்) உங்கள் மீது என் கோபம் இறங்கி விடும்; மேலும், எவன் மீது என் கோபம் இறங்குகிறதோ, அவன் நிச்சயமாக வீழ்வான்.

“நாம் உங்களுக்கு அளித்தவற்றில் நல்லவற்றிலிருந்து நீங்கள் உண்ணுங்கள், அதில் நீங்கள் வரம்பு மீறியும் விடாதீர்கள், (மீறினால்) உங்கள் மீது என் கோபம் இறங்கிவிடும், எவரின் மீது என்னுடைய கோபம் இறங்குகிறதோ அவர், நிச்சயமாக (ஹாவியா எனும் நரகத்தில்) வீழ்ந்து விட்டார்.

[saying], “Eat from the good things We have provided for you, but do not exceed the limits therein, or My wrath will befall you, for anyone upon whom My wrath befalls is perished.

Wainnee laghaffarun liman taba waamana waAAamila salihan thumma ihtada

And verily, I am indeed forgiving to him who repents, believes (in My Oneness, and associates none in worship with Me) and does righteous good deeds, and then remains constant in doing them (till his death).

But indeed, I am the Perpetual Forgiver of whoever repents and believes and does righteousness and then continues in guidance.

எவர் கைசேதப்பட்டு (பாவத்திலிருந்து) விலகி, நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு, நற்செயல்களைச் செய்து நேரான வழியில் நிலைத்தும் இருக்கின்றாரோ அவருடைய குற்றங்களை நான் மிக மிக மன்னிப்பவனாகவே இருக்கின்றேன்.

“எவன் பாவமன்னிப்புத் தேடி ஈமான் கொண்டு நற்செயல்களையும் செய்து அப்பால் நேர்வழியும் அடைகிறானோ அவனுக்கு நிச்சயமாக நான் மிகவும் மன்னிப்பவனாக இருக்கின்றேன்” (என்று கூறினோம்).

“இன்னும், எவர் பச்சாதாபப்பட்டு (பாவத்திலிருந்து தவ்பாச்செய்து), விசுவாசமும் கொண்டு நற்கருமங்களையும் செய்து அதன் பின்னர் நேர் வழியில் நிலைத்திருக்கிறாரோ அவருக்கு நிச்சயமாக நான் மிக மன்னிக்கிறவன்.

I am indeed Most Forgiving to those who repent and believe, and do righteous deeds, then stay on the right path.”

Wama aAAjalaka AAan qawmika ya moosa

"And what made you hasten from your people, O Mûsâ (Moses)?"

[Allah] said, "And what made you hasten from your people, O Moses?"

(மூஸா தூர் ஸீனாய் மலைக்கு வந்த சமயத்தில் அவரை நோக்கி இறைவன்) "மூஸாவே! நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய மக்களை விட்டுப் பிரிந்து இவ்வளவு அவசரமாக ஏன் வந்தீர்கள்?" (என்று கேட்டான்).

“மூஸாவே! உம் சமூகத்தாரை விட்டு உம்மை இவ்வளவு சீக்கிரம் விரைந்து வரச்செய்தது யாது?” (என்று தூர் ஸினாய் மலைக்கு அவர்கள் வந்த போது அல்லாஹ் கேட்டான்.)

மேலும், (அவரிடம்) மூஸாவே நீர் உம்முடைய சமூகத்தாரைவிட்டு (விட்டு நீர் மட்டும் வர) உம்மை அவசரப்படுத்தியது எது? (என்று அல்லாஹ்வாகிய அவன் கூறினான்.

[Allah asked], “What made you hasten from your people, O Moses?”

Qala hum olai AAala atharee waAAajiltu ilayka rabbi litarda

He said: "They are close on my footsteps, and I hastened to You, O my Lord, that You might be pleased."

He said, "They are close upon my tracks, and I hastened to You, my Lord, that You be pleased."

அதற்கவர் "அவர்கள் இதோ என்னைப் பின்தொடர்ந்தே வருகின்றனர். என் இறைவனே! உன்னைத் திருப்திப்படுத்துவதற்காக அவசர அவசரமாக (முன்னதாகவே) உன்னிடம் வந்தேன்" என்று கூறினார்.

(அதற்கவர்) “அவர்களும் என் அடிச்சுவட்டின் மீதே வருகின்றனர்; இன்னும் (என்) இறைவனே! நீ என்னைப் பற்றித் திருப்திப் படுவதற்காக, நான் உன்னிடத்தில் விரைந்து வந்தேன்” என்று கூறினார்.

அ(தற்க)வர், “அவர்கள் என் அடிச்சுவட்டின் மீது வருகின்றனர், என் இரட்சகனே! நீ (என் மீது) திருப்திப்படுவதற்காக துரிதமாக உன்னிடம் (முன்னதாகவே) வந்துவிட்டேன்” என்று கூறினார்.

He said, “They are following my footsteps; I hastened to You, my Lord, to please You.”

Qala fainna qad fatanna qawmaka min baAAdika waadallahumu alssamiriyyu

(Allâh) said: "Verily, We have tried your people in your absence, and As-Sâmirî has led them astray."

[Allah] said, "But indeed, We have tried your people after you [departed], and the Samiri has led them astray."

அதற்கு (இறைவன்) "நீங்கள் வந்த பின்னர் நாம் உங்களுடைய மக்களை ஒரு சோதனைக்குள்ளாக்கி விட்டோம். "ஸாமிரீ" என்பவன் அவர்களை வழிகெடுத்துவிட்டான்" என்று கூறினான்.

“நிச்சயமாக, (நீர் இங்கு வந்த) பின்னர் உம்முடைய சமூகத்தாரைச் சோதித்தோம்; இன்னும் அவர்களை “ஸாமிரி” வழிகெடுத்து விட்டான்” என்று (அல்லாஹ்) கூறினான்.

அதற்கு, “நீர் வந்த பின்னர் நிச்சயமாக நாம் உம்முடைய சமூகத்தாரை ஒரு சோதனைக்குள்ளாக்கினோம், சாமிரீ என்பவன் அவர்களை வழி கெடுத்துவிட்டான்” என்று (அவர் ஸினாய் மலைக்கு வந்த சமயம் அல்லாஹ்வாகிய அவன்) கூறினான்.

Allah said, “We have certainly tested your people in your absence, and Sāmiri has led them astray.”

FarajaAAa moosa ila qawmihi ghadbana asifan qala ya qawmi alam yaAAidkum rabbukum waAAdan hasanan afatala AAalaykumu alAAahdu am aradtum an yahilla AAalaykum ghadabun min rabbikum faakhlaftum mawAAidee

Then Mûsâ (Moses) returned to his people in a state of anger and sorrow. He said: "O my people! Did not your Lord promise you a fair promise? Did then the promise seem to you long in coming? Or did you desire that wrath should descend from your Lord on you, that you broke your promise to me (i.e. by disbelieving in Allâh and worshipping the calf)?"

So Moses returned to his people, angry and grieved. He said, "O my people, did your Lord not make you a good promise? Then, was the time [of its fulfillment] too long for you, or did you wish that wrath from your Lord descend upon you, so you broke your promise [of obedience] to me?"

(உடனே) மூஸா பெரும் துக்கத்துடன் கோபம் கொண்டவராகத் தன்னுடைய மக்களிடம் திரும்பி வந்து "என்னுடைய மக்களே! உங்கள் இறைவன் உங்களுக்கு(த் தவ்றாத் என்னும் வேதத்தைத் தருவதாக) அழகான வாக்குறுதி அளிக்க வில்லையா? அவன் வாக்குறுதி அளித்து அதிக நாள்களாகி விட்டனவா? அல்லது உங்கள் மீது உங்கள் இறைவனின் கோபம் இறங்க வேண்டும் என்று நீங்கள் விரும்பியே எனக்குச் செய்த வாக்குறுதிக்கு நீங்கள் மாறு செய்தீர்களா?" என்று கேட்டார்.

ஆகவே, மூஸா கோபமும் விசனமும் கொண்டவராய்த் தம் சமூகத்தாரிடம் திரும்பி வந்து: “என்னுடைய சமூகத்தவர்களே! உங்கள் இறைவன் உங்களுக்கு ஓர் அழகிய வாக்குறுதி கொடுக்கவில்லையா? எனவே அந்த வாக்குறுதி(க் காலம்) அதிகமாகி விட்டதா? அல்லது உங்கள் மீது உங்கள் இறைவனுடைய கோபம் இறங்க வேண்டுமென்று விரும்பி நீங்கள் எனக்குக் கொடுத்த வாக்குறுதிக்கு மாறு செய்தீர்களா?” (என்றார்).

(உடனே) மூஸா கோபங்கொண்டவராக-பெரும் வருத்தம் நிறைந்தவராகத் தன்னுடைய சமூகத்தாரிடம் திரும்பி வந்து “என்னுடைய சமூகத்தார்களே! உங்கள் இரட்சகன் உங்களுக்கு அழகான வாக்குறுதியை அவன் வாக்களிக்கவில்லையா? எனவே அவ்வாக்குறுதி(யின் காலம்) உங்களுக்கு நீண்டுவிட்டதா? அல்லது உங்கள்மீது, உங்கள் இரட்சகனின் கோபம் இறங்கவேண்டுமென்று நீங்கள் விரும்பியே எனக்கு நீங்கள் செய்த வாக்குறுதிக்கு மாறு செய்தீர்களா? என்று அவர் கேட்டார்.

So Moses returned to his people, angry and sorrowful. He said, “O my people, did your Lord not promise you a good promise? Was my absence too long for you, or did you want the wrath from your Lord to befall you, so you broke your promise to me?”

Qaloo ma akhlafna mawAAidaka bimalkina walakinna hummilna awzaran min zeenati alqawmi faqathafnaha fakathalika alqa alssamiriyyu

They said: "We broke not the promise to you, of our own will, but we were made to carry the weight of the ornaments of the [Fir'aun's (Pharaoh)] people, then we cast them (into the fire), and that was what As-Sâmirî did."

They said, "We did not break our promise to you by our will, but we were made to carry burdens from the ornaments of the people [of Pharaoh], so we threw them [into the fire], and thus did the Samiri throw."

அதற்கவர்கள் "நாங்கள் உங்களுக்குச் செய்த வாக்குறுதிக்கு எங்கள் இஷ்டப்படி மாறு செய்யவில்லை. ஆனால், நாங்கள் சுமந்துகொண்டு வந்த (ஃபிர்அவ்னுடைய) மக்களின் நகைகளை (நெருப்பில் எறியும்படி நிர்ப்பந்திக்கப்பட்டு அதில் அவைகளை) நாங்கள் எறிந்தோம். அவ்வாறே ஸாமிரீயும் (தன்னிடமிருந்த நகைகளை) எறிந்தான்.

“உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்திருந்த வாக்குறுதிக்கு எங்கள் சக்தியைக் கொண்டு நாங்கள் மாறு செய்யவில்லை; ஆனால் நாங்கள் சமூகத்தாரின் அலங்கார (ஆபரண)ங் களிலிருந்து சில சுமைகள் (கொண்டு) சுமத்தப்பட்டோம்; பிறகு, நாங்கள் அவற்றை(க் கழற்றி நெருப்பில்) எறிந்தோம்; அவ்வாறே ஸாமிரியும் எறிந்தான்” என்று அவர்கள் கூறினார்கள்.

அ(தற்க)வர்கள் நாங்கள் உமக்குச் செய்த வாக்குறுதிக்கு எங்கள் சக்தி கொண்டு (சுயமாக) மாறு செய்யவில்லை, என்றாலும், நாங்கள் (ஃபிர் அவ்னுடைய) சமூகத்தாரின் அலங்கார (ஆபரண)ங்களிலிருந்து கனமான சுமைகளைச் சுமத்தப்பட்டோம், ஆகவே, அவற்றை நாங்கள் (நெருப்பில்) எறிந்தோம், அவ்வாறே சாமிரீயும் (தன்னிடமிருந்தவற்றை) எறிந்தான்.

They said, “We did not break our promise to you out of our own free will, but we were made to carry loads of the people’s jewelry, so we threw them [into the fire], and so did the Sāmiri throw.”

Faakhraja lahum AAijlan jasadan lahu khuwarun faqaloo hatha ilahukum wailahu moosa fanasiya

Then he took out (of the fire) for them (a statue of) a calf which seemed to low. They said: "This is your ilâh (god), and the ilâh (god) of Mûsâ (Moses), but he [Mûsâ (Moses)] has forgotten (his god)."'

And he extracted for them [the statue of] a calf which had a lowing sound, and they said, "This is your god and the god of Moses, but he forgot."

பின்னர், அவன் ஒரு காளை கன்றின் சிலையை (மக்கள் முன்) வெளியாக்கினான். அதற்கு(க் காளை மாட்டின் சப்தத்தைப் போல் அர்த்தமற்ற) சப்தமும் இருந்தது. (இதைக் கண்ட) சிலர், இதுதான் உங்களுக்கும் மூஸாவுக்கும் இறைவனாகும். (இதனை) மறந்து விட்டு (மூஸா மலைக்குச் சென்று) விட்டார்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

பின்னர் அவன் அவர்களுக்காக ஒரு காளைக்கன்றை (உருவாக்கி) வெளிப்படுத்தினான்; அதற்கு மாட்டின் சப்தமும் இருந்தது. (இதைக் கண்ட) சிலர் “இது தான் உங்களுடைய நாயன்; இன்னும் (இதுவே) மூஸாவின் நாயனுமாகும்; ஆனால் அவர் இதை மறந்து விட்டார்” என்று சொன்னார்கள்.

“பின்னர், அவன் அவர்களுக்காக ஒரு காளைக்கன்றை-(உருவாக்கி) உடலாக வெளியாக்கினான், அதற்கு (அர்த்தமற்ற) சப்தமுமிருந்தது, (இதைக்கேட்ட) சிலர் (இதுதான் உங்களுடைய வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) இரட்சகனும், மூஸாவினுடைய (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) இரட்சகனுமாகும், (இதனை) அவர் (மூஸா) மறந்து (மலைக்குச் சென்று) விட்டார்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

Then he moulded for them an image of a calf that made a lowing sound. They said, “This is your god and Moses’ god, but he has forgotten.”

Afala yarawna alla yarjiAAu ilayhim qawlan wala yamliku lahum darran wala nafAAan

Did they not see that it could not return them a word (for answer), and that it had no power either to harm them or to do them good?

Did they not see that it could not return to them any speech and that it did not possess for them any harm or benefit?

(என்ன ஆச்சரியம்!) அவர்களு(டைய கேள்விகளு)க்கு அச்சிலை யாதொரு பதில் கூறாமலிருப்பதையும், நன்மையோ தீமையோ (யாதொன்றையும்) அவர்களுக்குச் செய்ய சக்தியற்று இருப்பதையும் அவர்கள் கவனித்திருக்க வேண்டாமா?

அவர்களுக்கு அது மறுபடி எதுவும் சொல்லவில்லை என்பதையும்; அவர்களுக்காக நன்மையையோ, தீமையையோ செய்யச் சக்தியற்றது என்பதையும் அவர்கள் பார்க்க வில்லையா?

நிச்சயமாக-அவர்களுடைய எந்தப்பேச்சுக்கும் அவர்களின்பால் அ(க்காளை மாடான)து (பதில் கூற) திரும்பாமல் இருப்பதையும், அவர்களுக்கு தீமையோ, நன்மையோ செய்யச் சக்தி பெறாமல் இருப்பதையும் அவர்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா?

Do they not see that it does not respond a word to them, nor does it have power to harm or benefit them?

Walaqad qala lahum haroonu min qablu ya qawmi innama futintum bihi wainna rabbakumu alrrahmanu faittabiAAoonee waateeAAoo amree

And Hârûn (Aaron) indeed had said to them beforehand: "O my people! You are being tried in this, and verily, your Lord is (Allâh) the Most Gracious, so follow me and obey my order."

And Aaron had already told them before [the return of Moses], "O my people, you are only being tested by it, and indeed, your Lord is the Most Merciful, so follow me and obey my order."

இதற்கு முன்னதாகவே ஹாரூன் அவர்களை நோக்கி "என்னுடைய மக்களே! (இச்சிலையை வணங்கி) நீங்கள் வழி தவறிவிட்டீர்கள். நிச்சயமாக உங்கள் இறைவன் (அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) ரஹ்மான்தான். (இச்சிலையன்று!) என்னைப் பின்பற்றுங்கள்; என்னுடைய கட்டளைக்கு கட்டுப்படுங்கள்" என்று கூறினார்.

இதற்கு முன்னரே ஹாரூன் அவர்களை நோக்கி, “என் சமூகத்தாரே! நிச்சயமாக இதைக் கொண்டு நீங்கள் சோதிக்கப்ட்டிருக்கிறீர்கள், நிச்சயமாக உங்களுடைய இறைவன் “அர்ரஹ்மானே” ஆவான்; எனவே, என்னைப் பின்பற்றுங்கள். இன்னும் என் கட்டளைக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியுங்கள்” என்று கூறினார்.

இன்னும், (இதற்கு) முன்னதாகவே ஹாரூன் அவர்களிடம், “என்னுடைய சமூகத்தார்களே! நீங்கள் சோதனைக்குள்ளாக்கப் பட்டதெல்லாம் இதைக் கொண்டுதான், நிச்சயமாக உங்கள் இரட்சகன் அர்ரஹ்மான்தான் (இதுவல்ல) ஆகவே, என்னைப் பின்பற்றுங்கள், என்னுடைய கட்டளைக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியுங்கள் என திட்டமாகக் கூறியிருந்தார்.

Aaron told them beforehand, “O my people, you are being tested with it. Your Lord is the Most Compassionate, so follow me and obey my command.”

Qaloo lan nabraha AAalayhi AAakifeena hatta yarjiAAa ilayna moosa

They said: "We will not stop worshipping it (i.e. the calf), until Mûsâ (Moses) returns to us."

They said, "We will never cease being devoted to the calf until Moses returns to us."

அதற்கவர்கள் "மூஸா நம்மிடம் திரும்ப வரும் வரையில் இதன் ஆராதனையை நாங்கள் விடமாட்டோம்" என்று கூறி விட்டார்கள்.

“மூஸா எங்களிடம் திரும்பி வரும் வரையில், நாங்கள் இதன் ஆராதனையை நிறுத்த மாட்டோம்” என்று அவர்கள் கூறினார்கள்.

அ(தற்க)வர்கள் “மூஸா எங்கள் பால் திரும்பி வரும்வரையில் இதன் (வணக்கத்தின்) மீதே நிலைத்தவர்களாக நீங்காது இருப்போம்” என்று கூறி விட்டார்கள்.

They said, “We will never cease to worship it until Moses comes back to us.”

Qala ya haroonu ma manaAAaka ith raaytahum dalloo

[Mûsâ (Moses)] said: "O Hârûn (Aaron)! What prevented you when you saw them going astray;

[Moses] said, "O Aaron, what prevented you, when you saw them going astray,

(மூஸா அவர்களிடம் வந்த பின் ஹாரூனை நோக்கி) "ஹாரூனே! இவர்கள் வழிகெட்டே போனார்கள் என்று நீங்கள் அறிந்த சமயத்தில் (என்னை நீங்கள் பின்பற்றி நடக்க) உங்களைத் தடை செய்தது எது?

(மூஸா திரும்பியதும் தம் சகோதரரிடம்) “ஹாரூனே! இவர்கள் வழி கெடுகிறார்கள் என்று நீங்கள் கண்ட போது (அவர்களுக்கு போதனை செய்து திருத்துவதில் நின்றும்) உங்களைத் தடை செய்தது யாது? என்று கேட்டார்.

(மூஸா, ஹாரூனிடம்) “ஹாரூனே! இவர்கள் வழிகெட்டு விட்டார்கள் என்பதை நீர் கண்டபோது (அதை மறுக்காமலிருக்க) எது உம்மைத் தடுத்தது? எனக் கேட்டார்.

Moses said, “O Aaron, what prevented you when you saw them going astray,

Alla tattabiAAani afaAAasayta amree

"That you followed me not (according to my advice to you)? Have you then disobeyed my order?"

From following me? Then have you disobeyed my order?"

நீங்கள் என்னைப் பின்பற்றி நடந்திருக்க வேண்டாமா? நீங்கள் என்னுடைய கட்டளைக்கு மாறு செய்யவே கருதினீரா?" (என்று கூறி அவருடைய தாடியையும் தலை முடியையும் பிடித்து இழுத்தார்.)

“நீங்கள் என்னைப் பின்பற்றியிருக்க வேண்டாமா? (அவ்வாறு செய்வதை என்ன தடுத்தது?) நீங்கள் என் கட்டளையை மீறினீர்களா?”

“நீர் என்னைப் பின்பற்றுவதிலிருந்து (உம்மைத் தடுத்தது எது?) என் கட்டளைக்கு மாறு செய்தீரா? (என்று கேட்டார்).

from following me? Did you disobey my command?”

Qala ya bna omma la takhuth bilihyatee wala birasee innee khasheetu an taqoola farraqta bayna banee israeela walam tarqub qawlee

He [Hârûn (Aaron)] said: "O son of my mother! Seize (me) not by my beard, nor by my head! Verily, I feared lest you should say: 'You have caused a division among the Children of Israel, and you have not respected my word!' "

[Aaron] said, "O son of my mother, do not seize [me] by my beard or by my head. Indeed, I feared that you would say, 'You caused division among the Children of Israel, and you did not observe [or await] my word.' "

அதற்கவர் "என் தாய் மகனே! என் தலையையும் தாடியையும் பிடி(த்திழு)க்காதீர்கள். (நான் அச்சமயமே அவர்களை விட்டு விலகி இருந்தால்) "இஸ்ராயீலின் சந்ததிகளுக்கிடையில் நீங்கள் பிரிவினையை ஏற்படுத்தி விட்டீர்கள். நீங்கள் என்னுடைய வார்த்தைகளை கவனிக்கவில்லை என்று நீங்கள் என்னைக் கடுகடுப்பீரென்று நிச்சயமாக நான் பயந்(தே அவர்களுடன் இருந்)தேன்" என்று கூறினார்.

(இதற்கு ஹாரூன்:) “என் தாயின் மகனே! என் தாடியையோ என் தலை (முடி)யையோ பிடி(த்திழு)க்காதீர்கள்; “பனீ இஸ்ராயீலிடையே நீங்கள் பிரிவினையை உண்டாக்கி விட்டீர்கள்; என் வார்த்தைக்காக நீங்கள் காத்திருக்கவில்லை!” என்று நீர் கூறுவீரோ என நிச்சயமாக நான் அஞ்சினேன்” என்று கூறினார்.

அ(தற்க)வர் “என் தாயின் மகனே! என்னுடைய தாடியையும், என்னுடைய தலையையும் பிடி(த்திழு)க்காதீர், இஸ்ராயீலின் மக்களுக்கிடையில், நீர் பிரிவினையை உண்டுபண்ணிவிட்டீர், என்னுடைய வார்த்தைக்காக நீர் காத்திருக்கவில்லை என்று நீர் கூறுவீர் என்பதை நிச்சயமாக நான் பயந்தேன்” என்று கூறினார்.

Aaron said, “O son of my mother, do not seize me by my beard or by my head! I feared that you would say, ‘You have caused division among the Children of Israel, and did not heed my words.’”

Qala fama khatbuka ya samiriyyu

[Mûsâ (Moses)] said: "And what is the matter with you. O Sâmirî? (i.e. why did you do so?)"

[Moses] said, "And what is your case, O Samiri?"

(பின்னர் மூஸா ஸாமிரீயை நோக்கி) "ஸாமிரீயே! உன் விஷயமென்ன? (ஏன் இவ்வாறு செய்தாய்?)" என்று கேட்டார்.

“ஸாமிரிய்யே! உன் விஷயமென்ன?” என்று மூஸா அவனிடம் கேட்டார்.

(பின்னர், மூஸா) “சாமிரீயே! உன் விஷயமென்ன? எனக் கேட்டார்.

Moses said, “What is the matter with you, O Sāmiri?”

Qala basurtu bima lam yabsuroo bihi faqabadtu qabdatan min athari alrrasooli fanabathtuha wakathalika sawwalat lee nafsee

(Sâmirî) said: "I saw what they saw not, so I took a handful (of dust) from the (hoof) print of the messenger [Jibrâîl's (Gabriel's) horse] and threw it [into the fire in which were put the ornaments of Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people, or into the calf]. Thus my inner self suggested to me."

He said, "I saw what they did not see, so I took a handful [of dust] from the track of the messenger and threw it, and thus did my soul entice me."

அதற்கவன் "அவர்கள் பார்க்காததொன்றை நான் பார்த்தேன். தூதர் காலடி மண்ணில் ஒரு பிடியை எடுத்து (பசுவின்) சிலையில் எறிந்தேன். (அது சப்தமிட்டது) இவ்வாறு (செய்யும் படியாக) என் மனமே என்னைத் தூண்டியது" என்று கூறினான்.

“அவர்கள் காணாத ஒன்றை நான் கண்டேன்; ஆகவே, நான் அந்த தூதர் காலடியிலிருந்து ஒரு பிடி (மண்ணாகப்) பிடித்து, அதை எறிந்தேன்; அவ்விதம் (செய்வதை) என் மனம் எனக்கு அழகா(ன செயலா)க ஆக்கிற்று” என (ஸாமிரி பதில்) சொன்னான்.

அ(தற்க)வன், “அவர்கள் பார்க்காத (வியப்பான) ஒன்றை நான் பார்த்தேன், தூதருடைய (அடிச்) சுவட்டிலிருந்து ஒரு பிடி (மண்) பிடித்து அதில் எறிந்தேன் இவ்வாறு (செய்யுமாறு) என் மனம் என்னைத் தூண்டிற்று” என்று கூறினான்.

He said, “I saw something they did not see, so I took a handful [of dust] from the hoof-print of the horse of the messenger [Gabriel] and cast it [into the fire]. This is what my mind prompted me.”

Qala faithhab fainna laka fee alhayati an taqoola la misasa wainna laka mawAAidan lan tukhlafahu waonthur ila ilahika allathee thalta AAalayhi AAakifan lanuharriqannahu thumma lanansifannahu fee alyammi nasfan

Mûsâ (Moses) said: "Then go away! And verily, your (punishment) in this life will be that you will say: 'Touch me not' (i.e. you will live alone exiled away from mankind); and verily, (for a future torment) you have a promise that will not fail. And look at your ilâh (god) to which you have been devoted. We will certainly burn it, and scatter its particles in the sea."

[Moses] said, "Then go. And indeed, it is [decreed] for you in [this] life to say, 'No contact.' And indeed, you have an appointment [in the Hereafter] you will not fail to keep. And look at your 'god' to which you remained devoted. We will surely burn it and blow it into the sea with a blast.

அதற்கு மூஸா (அவனை நோக்கி "இங்கிருந்து) அப்புறப்பட்டுவிடு. நிச்சயமாக நீ (எவரைக் கண்டபோதிலும்) "என்னைத் தீண்டாதீர்கள்" என்று கூறித் திரிவதுதான் இவ்வுலகத்தில் உனக்குரிய தண்டனை. (மறுமையிலோ) நிச்சயமாக உனக்கு வாக்களிக்கப்பட்ட கொடிய வேதனையுண்டு. நீ அதிலிருந்து தப்பவே மாட்டாய். இதோ! நீ ஆராதனை செய்து கொண்டிருந்த தெய்வத்தைப் பார். நிச்சயமாக நான் அதனை உருக்கி(ப் பஸ்பமாக்கிச்) கடலில் தூற்றி விடுவேன்" என்றும்,

“நீ இங்கிருந்து போய் விடு; நிச்சயமாக இந்த வாழ்க்கையில் (எவரைக் கண்டாலும், என்னைத்) “தீண்டாதீர்கள்” என்று சொல்(லித் திரி)வது தான் உனக்குள்ளது, (மறுமையில்) நிச்சயமாக உனக்கு வாக்களிக்கப்பட்ட வேதனையும் உண்டு; அதை விட்டும் நீ தப்பமாட்டாய்; மேலும்: நீ தரிபட்டு ஆராதனை செய்து கொண்டிருந்தாயே அந்த “நாயனைப்” பார்; நிச்சயமாக அதனைச் சுட்டெரித்துப் பின்னர் (சாம்பலாக்கி) அதைக் கடலில் பரத்திவிடுவோம்” என்றார்.

(அதற்கு) மூஸா (“இங்கிருந்து) நீ சென்று விடு, நிச்சயமாக நீ (யாரைப்பார்த்தாலும்) என்னைத் தீண்டாதீர் என்று கூறுவதுதான், இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையில் உனக்குரியது, (மறுமையிலோ,) நிச்சயமாக உனக்கு ஒரு தவணையும் உண்டு, அதில் நீ மாற்றம் செய்யப்பட மாட்டாய்,” (அதிலிருந்து நீ தப்பிவிட மாட்டாய்.) மேலும், (வணக்கம் செலுத்துவது கொண்டு) எதன் மீது நீ நிலையானவனாக இருந்தாயோ அத்தகைய உனது (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) தெய்வத்தைப்பார், நிச்சயமாக நாம் அதனை நெருப்பிலிட்டு எரிப்போம், பின்னர், திண்ணமாகக் கடலில் அதை முற்றிலுமாகத் தூவி விடுவோம்” என்று கூறினார்.

Moses said, “Begone then! Your [punishment] in this life will be to say, ‘Do not touch me,’ but there awaits you an appointed time for your reckoning that you cannot escape. Now look at your so-called god which you kept worshiping; We will surely burn it then scatter it in the sea.

Innama ilahukumu Allahu allathee la ilaha illa huwa wasiAAa kulla shayin AAilman

Your Ilâh (God) is only Allâh, (the One) Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). He has full knowledge of all things.

Your god is only Allah, except for whom there is no deity. He has encompassed all things in knowledge."

உங்கள் வணக்கத்திற்குரியவன் அல்லாஹ் ஒருவன்தான்; அவனைத் தவிர வணக்கத்திற்குரியவன் வேறொருவனுமில்லை. அவன் அனைத்தையும் அறியக்கூடிய விசாலமான கல்வி ஞானமுடையவன்" என்றும் கூறினார்.

“உங்களுடைய நாயன் அல்லாஹ் ஒருவன்தான்; அவனைத் தவிர (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) நாயன் வேறில்லை; எல்லாப் பொருட்களிலும் ஞானத்தால் விசாலமானவன்” என்றும் கூறினார்.

“உங்கள் (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) நாயன் அல்லாஹ் (ஒருவன்) தான், அவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால் அவனைத் தவிர வணக்கத்திற்குரியவன் (வேறு எவரும்) இல்லை, அவன் ஒவ்வொரு பொருளையும் (தன்) அறிவால் விசாலமாக (அறிந்து) வைத்துள்ளான்” (என்றும் மூஸா) கூறினார்.

[O people], your god is only Allah; none has the right to be worshiped except Him. He encompasses everything in knowledge.”

Kathalika naqussu AAalayka min anbai ma qad sabaqa waqad ataynaka min ladunna thikran

Thus We relate to you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) some information of what happened before. And indeed We have given you from Us a Reminder (this Qur'ân).

Thus, [O Muhammad], We relate to you from the news of what has preceded. And We have certainly given you from Us the Qur'an.

(நபியே!) இவ்வாறே உங்களுக்கு முன்னர் சென்று போனவர்களின் சரித்திரத்தை(ப் பின்னும்) நாம் உங்களுக்குக் கூறுவோம். நம்மிடமிருந்து நல்லுபதேசத்தை (உடைய இவ்வேதத்தை) நிச்சயமாக நாம்தான் உங்களுக்கு அளித்தோம்.

(நபியே!) இவ்வாறே முன் சென்று போனவர்களின் வரலாற்றை நாம் உமக்குக் கூறுகிறோம்; மேலும் திட்டமாக நம்மிடமிருந்து நினைவூட்டும் நல்லுபதேசத்தை (இத்திருக் குர்ஆனை) நாம் உமக்குக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறோம்.

(நபியே!) இவ்வாறே (உமக்கு) முன்னர் சென்று போனவர்களின் செய்திகளை நாம் உமக்குக் கூறுவோம், நம்மிடமிருந்து (இவ்வேதமாகிய) நல்லுபதேசத்தை நிச்சயமாக நாம் உமக்குக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறோம்.

This is how We relate to you [O Prophet] from the stories of the past, and We have given you a Reminder from Us.

Man aAArada AAanhu fainnahu yahmilu yawma alqiyamati wizran

Whoever turns away from it (this Qur'ân – i.e. does not believe in it, nor acts on its orders), verily, they will bear a heavy burden (of sins) on the Day of Resurrection,

Whoever turns away from it - then indeed, he will bear on the Day of Resurrection a burden,

எவன் இதனை (நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளாமல்) புறக்கணிக் லிகின்றானோ அவன் மறுமை நாளில் நிச்சயமாக(ப் பெரியதொரு) பாவத்தையே சுமப்பான்.

எவன் அதனைப் புறக்கணிக்கின்றானோ, அவன் கியாம நாளில் (பாவச்) சுமையைச் சுமப்பான்.

எவர் அதனைப் புறக்கணிக்கின்றாரோ, நிச்சயமாக அவர், மறுமை நாளில் (பெரியதொரு) பாவத்தை (அதற்குரிய தண்டனையையே) சுமப்பார்.

Whoever turns away from it will bear a heavy burden on the Day of Resurrection,

Khalideena feehi wasaa lahum yawma alqiyamati himlan

They will abide in that (state in the Fire of Hell) – and evil indeed will it be that load for them on the Day of Resurrection;

[Abiding] eternally therein, and evil it is for them on the Day of Resurrection as a load -

அதில் அவன் எந்நாளும் (அதனைச் சுமந்து கொண்டே) இருப்பான். மறுமை நாளில் அவர்கள் சுமக்கும் இச்சுமை மிகக் கெட்டது.

அ(ப்படிச் சுமப்ப)வர்கள் அதில் எந்நாளும் (அதைச் சுமந்தவாறே) இருப்பார்கள்; கியாம நாளில் இச்சுமை அவர்களுக்கு மிகவும் கெட்டது.

அ(ந்நரகத்)தில் அவர்கள் நிரந்தரமாக இருப்பவர்கள், மறுமைநாளில் சுமையால் அவர்களுக்கு அது மிகக் கெட்டது.

abiding therein forever. What a terrible burden they will carry on the Day of Resurrection!

Yawma yunfakhu fee alssoori wanahshuru almujrimeena yawmaithin zurqan

The Day when the Trumpet will be blown (the second blowing): that Day, We shall gather the Mujrimûn (criminals, polytheists, sinners, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh) blue or blind-eyed with thirst.

The Day the Horn will be blown. And We will gather the criminals, that Day, blue-eyed.

எக்காளம் (சூர்) ஊதப்பட்டு குற்றவாளிகளை நாம் ஒன்று சேர்க்கும் நாளில் (பயத்தினால்) அவர்களுடைய கண்கள் நீலம் பூத்திருக்கும்.

ஸூர் (எக்காளம்) ஊதப்படும் நாள் அது; குற்றவாளிகளை, (பயத்தினால்) நீலம் பூத்த கண்ணுடையோராக நாம் அந்நாளில் ஒன்று சேர்ப்போம்.

(ஸூர்) “குழல்” ஊதப்படும்நாளை (நினைவு கூர்வீராக!) குற்றவாளிகளை அந்நாளில், நீலம் பூத்த கண்களுடைய)வர்களாக (இழுத்துக்கொண்டு வந்து) ஒன்று திரட்டுவோம்.

the Day when the Trumpet will be blown; on that Day We will gather together the wicked sightless [from horror].

Yatakhafatoona baynahum in labithtum illa AAashran

They will speak in a very low voice to each other (saying): "You stayed not longer than ten (days)."

They will murmur among themselves, "You remained not but ten [days in the world]."

அவர்கள் தங்களுக்குள் மெதுவாக(ப் பேசி) "நீங்கள் ஒரு பத்து (நாள்களு)க்கு அதிகமாக (உலகத்தில்) தங்கவில்லை" (என்று கூறுவார்கள்).

“நீங்கள் பத்து (நாட்களு)க்கு மேல் (பூமியில்) தங்கியதில்லை” என்று அவர்கள் தங்களுக்கிடையில் இரகசியம் பேசிக் கொள்வார்கள்.

நீங்கள் பத்து (நாட்கள்) தவிர (உலகில்) தங்கியிருக்கவில்லை என்று அவர்களுக்கு மத்தியில் இரகசியமாக பேசிக்கொள்வார்கள்.

They will whisper with one another, “You stayed no more than ten days [on earth].”

Nahnu aAAlamu bima yaqooloona ith yaqoolu amthaluhum tareeqatan in labithtum illa yawman

We know very well what they will say, when the best among them in knowledge and wisdom will say: "You stayed no longer than a day!"

We are most knowing of what they say when the best of them in manner will say, "You remained not but one day."

அவர்கள் என்ன பேசிக் கொள்வார்கள் என்பதை நாம் நன்கறிவோம். அவர்களில் மிக்க ஞானமுள்ளோன் (என்று கருதப்படுபவன் அவர்களை நோக்கி) "ஒரு நாளேயன்றி நீங்கள் தங்கவில்லை" என்று கூறுவான்.

“ஒரு நாளேயன்றி (அதிகமாக) நீங்கள் தங்கவில்லை” என்று அவர்களில் நல்வழியில் சென்றவர்கள் கூறுவதையும் நாம் நன்கறிவோம்.

அவர்களில் நிறையறிவுடையவர்கள் (அவர்களிடம்) “ஒரு நாளேயன்றி நீங்கள் தங்கியிருக்கவில்லை” என்று கூறும் சமயத்தில், அவர்கள் என்ன கூறுகிறார்கள் என்பதை நாம் நன்கறிவோம்.

We know best what they will say – the most discerning among them will say, “You stayed no more than a day.”

Wayasaloonaka AAani aljibali faqul yansifuha rabbee nasfan

And they ask you concerning the mountains, say: "My Lord will blast them and scatter them as particles of dust.

And they ask you about the mountains, so say, "My Lord will blow them away with a blast.

(நபியே!) உங்களிடம் அவர்கள் மலைகளைப் பற்றி (அதன் கதி உலக முடிவின்போது என்னவாகும் என)க் கேட்கிறார்கள். (அதற்கு) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "என் இறைவன் அவைகளைத் தூள் தூளாக்கி(ப் பரப்பி) விடுவான்.

(நபியே!) இன்னும் உம்மிடம் மலைகளைப்பற்றி அவர்கள் கேட்கிறார்கள். “அவைகளை என் இறைவன் தூள் தூளாக்கி (மணல்களைப் போல் பரப்பி)விடுவான்” என்று நீர் கூறுவீராக.

மேலும், நபியே!) உம்மிடம் அவர்கள் மலைகளைப் பற்றிக் கேட்கிறார்கள், (அதற்கு) நீர் கூறும், என் இரட்சகன் அவைகளைத் தூள் தூளாக்கிவிடுவான்.

They ask you about the mountains, say, “My Lord will scatter them into dust,

Fayatharuha qaAAan safsafan

"Then He shall leave them as a level smooth plain.

And He will leave the earth a level plain;

பூமியை சமமான வெட்டவெளியாக்கி விடுவான்.

“பின்பு, அவற்றைச் சமவெளியாக்கி விடுவான்.

(பின்னர்) அவற்றை (புற்பூண்டோ, கட்டிடங்களோ இல்லாத) சமவெளியாக்கி விட்டுவிடுவான்.

and He will leave the earth level and plain,

La tara feeha AAiwajan wala amtan

"You will see therein nothing crooked or curved."

You will not see therein a depression or an elevation."

அதில் ஒரு சிறிதும் மேடு பள்ளத்தை நீங்கள் காணமாட்டீர்கள்.

“அதில் நீர் மேடு பள்ளத்தை காணமாட்டீர்.”

அதில் பள்ளத்தையோ மேட்டையோ நீர் காண மாட்டீர்.

you will not see therein any troughs or peaks.”

Yawmaithin yattabiAAoona alddaAAiya la AAiwaja lahu wakhashaAAati alaswatu lilrrahmani fala tasmaAAu illa hamsan

On that Day mankind will follow strictly (the voice of) Allâh's caller, no crookedness (that is without going to the right or left of that voice) will they show him (Allâh's caller). And all voices will be humbled for the Most Gracious (Allâh), and nothing shall you hear but the low voice of their footsteps.

That Day, everyone will follow [the call of] the Caller [with] no deviation therefrom, and [all] voices will be stilled before the Most Merciful, so you will not hear except a whisper [of footsteps].

அந்நாளில் (அனைவரும் எக்காள மூலம்) அழைப்பவனின் சப்தத்தையே பின்பற்றிச் செல்வார்கள். அதில் தவறு ஏற்படாது. ரஹ்மானுக்குப் பயந்து எல்லாச் சப்தங்களும் தணிந்து விடும். (மெதுவான) காலடி சப்தத்தைத் தவிர (வேறு எதனையும்) நீங்கள் கேட்கமாட்டீர்கள்.

அந்நாளில் அவர்கள் (ஸூர் மூலம்) அழைப்பவரையே பின்பற்றிச் செல்வார்கள்; அதில் எத்தகைய கோணலும் இருக்காது; இன்னும் (அவ் வேளை) அர்ரஹ்மானுக்கு (அஞ்சி) எல்லாச் சப்தங்களும் ஒடுங்கி விடும். கால்கள் (மெதுவாக அடியெடுத்து வைக்கும்) சப்தத்தைத் தவிர (வேறெதையும்) நீர் கேட்கமாட்டீர்.

அந்நாளில் (ஸூர் ஊதுகின்ற) அழைப்பாளரையே பின்பற்றிச் செல்வார்கள்; அதில் எவ்விதக் கோணலும் (மறுப்பும்) இருக்காது; சப்தங்கள் (அனைத்தும்) அர்ரஹ்மானுக்குப் பணிந்து (அடங்கி)விடும்; ஆகவே, (மெதுவான) காலடிச் சப்தத்தைத் தவிர (வேறெதனையும்) நீர் கேட்கமாட்டீர்.

On that day, they will follow the summoner; none will dare to deviate. All voices will be hushed in awe before the Most Compassionate; you will hear nothing except a whisper.

Yawmaithin la tanfaAAu alshshafaAAatu illa man athina lahu alrrahmanu waradiya lahu qawlan

On that day no intercession shall avail, except the one for whom the Most Gracious (Allâh) has given permission and whose word is acceptable to Him.

That Day, no intercession will benefit except [that of] one to whom the Most Merciful has given permission and has accepted his word.

அந்நாளில் ரஹ்மான் எவருக்கு அனுமதி அளித்து அவரின் பேச்சைக் கேட்க அவன் விரும்பினானோ அவரைத் தவிர மற்றெவருடைய சிபாரிசும் பயனளிக்காது.

அந்நாளில் அர்ரஹ்மான் எவரை அனுமதித்து, எவருடைய பேச்சை உவந்து கொள்கிறானோ, அவர்களைத் தவிர வேறு எவருடைய ஷஃபாஅத்தும் (பரிந்துரையும்) பலனளிக்காது.

அந்நாளில் அர்ரஹ்மான் எவருக்கு அனுமதி அளித்து, சொல்லால் அவருக்காக பொருந்திக் கொண்டானோ அவரைத் தவிர (மற்றெவருக்கும்) பரிந்துரை பயனளிக்காது.

On that day, no intercession will be of any use except to whom the Most Compassionate gave permission and approved his word.

YaAAlamu ma bayna aydeehim wama khalfahum wala yuheetoona bihi AAilman

He (Allâh) knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them (in the Hereafter) but they will never encompass anything of His Knowledge.

Allah knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, but they do not encompass it in knowledge.

அவர்களுக்கு முன்னுள்ளதையும் பின்னுள்ளதையும் அவன் நன்கறிவான். எனினும், அவர்கள் அவனை முழுமையாக அறிந்து கொள்ள முடியாது.

அவர்களுக்கு முன்னிருப்பதையும், அவர்களுக்குப் பின்னால் இருப்பதையும் அவன் நன்கறிவான்; ஆனால் அவர்கள் அதை(த் தங்கள்) கல்வியறிவு கொண்டு சூழ்ந்தறிய மாட்டார்கள்.

அவர்களுக்கு முன்னுள்ளதையும், அவர்களுக்குப் பின்னுள்ளதையும் அவன் நன்கறிவான், அவர்கள் அவனை(த் தங்கள்) கல்வியால் தீர அறிந்து கொள்ள மாட்டார்கள்.

He knows all that is ahead of them and all that is behind them, but they do not encompass it with their knowledge.

WaAAanati alwujoohu lilhayyi alqayyoomi waqad khaba man hamala thulman

And (all) faces shall be humbled before (Allâh), Al-Hayyul-Qayyum (the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists). And he who carried (a burden of) wrongdoing (i.e. he who disbelieved in Allâh, ascribed partners to Him, and did deeds of His disobedience), will be indeed a complete failure (on that Day).

And [all] faces will be humbled before the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. And he will have failed who carries injustice.

(அந்நாளில்) நிரந்தரமானவனும் நிலையானவனுமாகிய (இறை)வன் முன் அனைவருடைய தலைகளும் குனிந்துவிடும். எவன் அநியாயத்தைச் சுமந்துகொண்டானோ அவன் நஷ்டம் அடைந்தே தீருவான்.

இன்னும், நிலைத்தவனாகிய நித்திய ஜீவனான (அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) யாவருடைய முகங்களும் பணிந்து தாழ்ந்துவிடும்; ஆகவே எவன் அக்கிரமத்தைச் சுமந்து கொண்டானோ, அவன் நற்பேறிழந்தவனாகி விடுவான்.

(அந்நாளில் அல்லாஹ்வான) நிலையானவனாகிய நித்திய ஜீவனுக்கு (முன்) யாவருடைய முகங்களும் கவிழ்ந்துவிடும், எவன் (இணையாக்குதல் என்னும்) அநியாயத்தைச் சுமந்து கொண்டானோ அவன் திட்டமாக நஷ்டமடைந்து விட்டான்.

All faces will be humbled before the Ever-Living, Self-Sustaining. Those burdened with evil deeds will be in total loss.

Waman yaAAmal mina alssalihati wahuwa muminun fala yakhafu thulman wala hadman

And he who works deeds of righteousness, while he is a believer (in Islâmic Monotheism), then he will have no fear of injustice, nor of any curtailment (of his reward).

But he who does of righteous deeds while he is a believer - he will neither fear injustice nor deprivation.

எவர் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டவராக இருந்து நற்செயல்களைச் செய்கிறாரோ அவர், (தன்னுடைய நற்கூலி) அழிந்து விடுமென்றோ குறைந்து விடுமென்றோ பயப்படமாட்டார்.

எவர் முஃமினாக இருந்து, ஸாலிஹான- நற்செயல்களைச் செய்கிறாரோ அவர் தமக்கு அநியாயம் செய்யப்படுமென்றோ, (தமக்குரிய) நற்கூலி குறைந்துவிடுமென்றோ பயப்படமாட்டார்கள்.

எவர் விசுவாசங்கொண்ட நிலையில், நற்கருமங்களையும் செய்கிறாரோ அவர், (தனக்கு) அநீதத்தையோ, (தன் செயல்களுக்குரிய நற்கூலியில்) குறைவையோ பயப்படமாட்டார்.

But whoever does righteous deeds, being a believer, will have no fear of being wronged or deprived.

Wakathalika anzalnahu quranan AAarabiyyan wasarrafna feehi mina alwaAAeedi laAAallahum yattaqoona aw yuhdithu lahum thikran

And thus We have sent it down as a Qur'ân in Arabic, and have explained therein in detail the warnings, in order that they may fear Allâh, or that it may cause them to have a lesson from it (or to have the honour for believing and acting on its teachings).

And thus We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur'an and have diversified therein the warnings that perhaps they will avoid [sin] or it would cause them remembrance.

இவ்வாறே இந்தக் குர்ஆனை அரபி மொழியில் நாம் இறக்கி வைத்தோம். அவர்களுக்கு நல்லுணர்ச்சி ஏற்பட்டு அவர்கள் (பாவத்திலிருந்து) விலகிக்கொள்ளும் பொருட்டு இதில் நாம் (நம்முடைய) வேதனையைப் பற்றி அவர்களுக்கு அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்கிறோம்.

மேலும், இவ்விதமாகவே இந்த குர்ஆனை அரபி மொழியில் நாம் இறக்கி வைத்தோம்; அவர்கள் பயபக்தியுடையவர்களாக ஆகும் பொருட்டு, அல்லது நல்லுபதேசத்தை அவர்களுக்கு நினைவூட்டும் பொருட்டு, இதில் அவர்களுக்கு எச்சரிக்கையை விவரித்திருக்கின்றோம்.

இவ்வாறே, இதனை அரபி மொழியிலான குர் ஆனாக நாம் இறக்கி வைத்தோம், அவர்கள் பயபக்தியுடையவர்களாக ஆவதற்காக, அல்லது இது அவர்களுக்கு நல்லுபதேசத்தை உண்டாக்குவதற்காக இதில் நாம் (நம்முடைய வேதனையைப் பற்றி) அவர்களுக்கு எச்சரிக்கையை (பலவாறாக) திரும்பத்திரும்ப விவரித்திருக்கிறோம்.

We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur’an and diversified its warnings, so that they may fear Allah or it may cause them to take heed.

FataAAala Allahu almaliku alhaqqu wala taAAjal bialqurani min qabli an yuqda ilayka wahyuhu waqul rabbi zidnee AAilman

Then High above all be Allâh, the True King. And be not in haste (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) with the Qur'ân before its revelation is completed to you, and say: "My Lord! Increase me in knowledge."

So high [above all] is Allah, the Sovereign, the Truth. And, [O Muhammad], do not hasten with [recitation of] the Qur'an before its revelation is completed to you, and say, "My Lord, increase me in knowledge."

உண்மையான அரசனாகிய அல்லாஹ்தான் மிக்க உயர்ந்தவன். (நபியே!) குர்ஆனைப் பற்றி உங்களுக்கு வஹ்யி அறிவித்து முடிவதற்கு முன்னதாகவே (அதனை ஓத) நீங்கள் அவசரப்படாதீர்கள். எனினும் "என் இறைவனே! என்னுடைய கல்வி ஞானத்தை மென்மேலும் அதிகப்படுத்து" என்று நீங்கள் பிரார்த்தனை செய்யுங்கள்.

ஆகவே, உண்மை அரசனாகிய அல்லாஹ்வே மிக உயர்ந்தவன்; இன்னும் (நபியே!) உமக்கு (குர்ஆனின்) வஹீ அறிவிக்கப்பட்டு அது முடிவதற்கு முன்னதாகவே குர்ஆனை ஓத நீர் அவசரப்படாதீர்; “இறைவா! கல்வி ஞானத்தை எனக்கு அதிகப்படுத்துவாயாக!” என்றும் நீர் பிரார்த்தனை செய்வீராக!

எனவே உண்மையான அரசனாகிய அல்லாஹ் (இணை வைப்பவர்களின் இணைவைப்பிபிலிருந்து) உயர்ந்துவிட்டான், (நபியே!) குர் ஆனைக்கொண்டு – அதனுடைய அறிவிப்பு உம்மளவில் முடிக்கப்படுவதற்கு முன்னதாக (அதனை ஓத) நீர் அவசரப்படவேண்டாம், “இன்னும், என் இரட்சகனே! எனக்கு அறிவை அதிகப்படுத்துவாயாக” என்று நீர் (பிரார்த்தனை செய்து) கூறுவீராக!

So Exalted is Allah, the True Sovereign. Do not hasten to [recite] the Qur’an before its revelation to you is concluded, and say, “My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”

Walaqad AAahidna ila adama min qablu fanasiya walam najid lahu AAazman

And indeed We made a covenant with Adam before, but he forgot, and We found on his part no firm willpower.

And We had already taken a promise from Adam before, but he forgot; and We found not in him determination.

இதற்கு முன்னர் ஆதமிடம் நிச்சயமாக நாம் வாக்குறுதி வாங்கியிருந்தோம். எனினும், (அதனை) அவர் மறந்துவிட்டார். ஆனால், (மனமுரண்டாக) அதற்கு மாறு செய்யும் எண்ணத்தை நாம் அவரிடம் காணவில்லை.

முன்னர், நாம் ஆதமுக்கு நிச்சயமாக கட்டளையிட்டிருந்தோம்; ஆனால் (அதனை) அவர் மறந்து விட்டார்; (அக்கட்டளைபடி நடக்கும்) உறுதிப்பாட்டை நாம் அவரிடம் காணவில்லை.

மேலும், இதற்கு முன்னர், ஆதமிடம் நிச்சயமாக நாம் வாக்குறுதி வாங்கியிருந்தோம், பின்னர், (அதனை) அவர் மறந்து விட்டார், மேலும், (அதன்படி நடக்கும்) உறுதியை நாம் அவரிடம் காணவில்லை.

We had already given a command to Adam before, but he forgot, and We found him lacking a firm resolve.

Waith qulna lilmalaikati osjudoo liadama fasajadoo illa ibleesa aba

And (remember) when We said to the angels: "Prostrate yourselves to Adam." They prostrated themselves (all) except Iblîs (Satan); he refused.

And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam," and they prostrated, except Iblees; he refused.

மலக்குகளை நோக்கி "நீங்கள் ஆதமுக்குச் சிரம் பணியுங்கள்" என்று கூறிய சமயத்தில் இப்லீஸைத் தவிர அவர்கள் அனைவரும் சிரம் பணிந்தார்கள். அவன் (சிரம் பணியாது) விலகிக் கொண்டான்.

“நீங்கள் ஆதமுக்கு ஸுஜூது செய்யுங்கள்” என்று நாம் வானவர்களிடம் கூறிய போது, இப்லீஸை தவிர, அவர்கள் ஸுஜூது செய்தார்கள். அவன் (அவ்வாறு செய்யாது) விலகிக் கொண்டான்.

மேலும், மலக்குகளிடம் நீங்கள் ஆதமுக்குச் சிரம் பணியுங்கள் என்று நாம் கூறிய சமயத்தில், இப்லீஸைத் தவிர அவர்கள் சிரம் பணிந்தார்கள், அவன் விலகிக் கொண்டான் (என்பதை நபியே! நீர் நினைவு கூர்வீராக)

When We said to the angels, “Prostrate before Adam,” so they all prostrated, except Iblīs, who refused.

Faqulna ya adamu inna hatha AAaduwwun laka walizawjika fala yukhrijannakuma mina aljannati fatashqa

Then We said: "O Adam! Verily, this is an enemy to you and to your wife. So, let him not get you both out of Paradise, so that you will be distressed.

So We said, "O Adam, indeed this is an enemy to you and to your wife. Then let him not remove you from Paradise so you would suffer.

(ஆதலால், நாம் ஆதமை நோக்கி) "ஆதமே! நிச்சயமாக இவன் உங்களுக்கும் உங்களுடைய மனைவிக்கும் எதிரியாவான். உங்கள் இருவரையும் இச்சோலையிலிருந்து அவன் வெளிப் படுத்திவிடாது நீங்கள் (எச்சரிக்கையாக) இருங்கள். இன்றேல் நீங்கள் கஷ்டத்திற்குள்ளாகி விடுவீர்கள்" என்று கூறினோம்.

அப்பொழுது “ஆதமே! நிச்சயமாக இவன் உமக்கும், உம்முடைய மனைவிக்கும் பகைவனானான்; ஆதலால், உங்களிருவரையும் இச்சுவனபதியிலிருந்து திட்டமாக வெளியேற்ற (இடந்) தரவேண்டாம்; இன்றேல் நீர் பெரும் இன்னலுக்குள்ளாவீர்.

ஆதலால் (நாம் ஆதமிடம்) “ஆதமே! நிச்சயமாக இவன் உனக்கும் உம்முடைய மனைவிக்கும் விரோதியாவான், எனவே உங்களிருவரையும் இச்சுவனத்திலிருந்து (தன் சூழ்ச்சியால்) அவன் நிச்சயமாக வெளியேற்றிவிட வேண்டாம், அவ்வாறெனில், நீர் கஷ்டத்திற்குள்ளாகி விடுவீர்” என்று கூறினோம்.

We said “O Adam, this is an enemy to you and to your wife, so do not let him drive you both out of Paradise, for then you will fall into misery.

Inna laka alla tajooAAa feeha wala taAAra

Verily, you have (a promise from Us) that you will never be hungry therein nor naked.

Indeed, it is [promised] for you not to be hungry therein or be unclothed.

"நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் இதில் பசியாகவோ நிர்வாணமாகவோ இருக்க மாட்டீர்கள்.

“நிச்சயமாக நீர் இ(ச் சுவர்க்கத்)தில் பசியாகவோ நிர்வாணமாகவோ இருக்கமாட்டீர்.

நீர், பசியில்லாதிருப்பதும், நீர் நிர்வாணமாகாதிருப்பதும் இ(ச்சுவனத்)தில் நிச்சயமாக உமக்கு உண்டு.

Here you will neither go hungry nor naked,

Waannaka la tathmao feeha wala tadha

And you (will) suffer not from thirst therein nor from the sun's heat.

And indeed, you will not be thirsty therein or be hot from the sun."

நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் இதில் தாகிக்காமலும் வெயிலால் தாக்கப்படாமலும் இருப்பீர்கள்" என்று கூறினான்.

“இன்னும் இதில் நீர் தாகிக்கவும், வெயிலில் (கஷ்டப்)படவும் மாட்டீர் (என்று கூறினோம்).

அன்றியும் இதில் நிச்சயமாக நீர் தாகிக்கவுமாட்டீர், வெயிலில் (கஷ்டப்படவுமாட்டீர்) என்று கூறினோம்.

nor will you suffer from thirst or from scorching heat.”

Fawaswasa ilayhi alshshaytanu qala ya adamu hal adulluka AAala shajarati alkhuldi wamulkin la yabla

Then Shaitân (Satan) whispered to him, saying: "O Adam! Shall I lead you to the Tree of Eternity and to a kingdom that will never waste away?"

Then Satan whispered to him; he said, "O Adam, shall I direct you to the tree of eternity and possession that will not deteriorate?"

எனினும், ஷைத்தான் அவர்களுக்கு ஊசலாட்டத்தை உண்டுபண்ணி "ஆதமே! நிரந்தர வாழ்க்கைக்குரிய மரத்தையும், அழிவில்லாத அரசாங்கத்தையும் நான் உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கவா?" என்று கூறினான்.

ஆனால், ஷைத்தான் அவருக்கு (ஊசலாட்டத்தையும்) குழப்பத்தையும் உண்டாக்கி: “ஆதமே! நித்திய வாழ்வளிக்கும் மரத்தையும், அழிவில்லாத அரசாங்கத்தையும் உமக்கு நான் அறிவித்துத் தரவா?” என்று கேட்டான்.

ஆனால் ஷைத்தான் அவருக்கு (அவர் மனதில்) ஊசாட்டத்தை உண்டாக்கி விட்டான், நித்திய வாழ்வளிக்கும் மரத்தையும், முடிவில்லா அரசாங்கத்தையும் உமக்கு நான் அறிவித்துத் தரட்டுமா? என்று கேட்டான்.

Then Satan whispered to him, and said, “O Adam, shall I show you the tree of immortality and a kingdom that will never decay?”

Faakala minha fabadat lahuma sawatuhuma watafiqa yakhsifani AAalayhima min waraqi aljannati waAAasa adamu rabbahu faghawa

Then they both ate of the tree, and so their private parts became manifest to them, and they began to cover themselves with the leaves of Paradise for their covering. Thus did Adam disobey his Lord, so he went astray.

And Adam and his wife ate of it, and their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And Adam disobeyed his Lord and erred.

ஆகவே, அவ்விருவரும் (தடுக்கப்பட்ட) அதனைப் புசித்து விட்டார்கள். உடனே (நிர்வாணமாகி) அவ்விருவரின் மானமும் வெளியாகவே, அச்சோலையின் இலைகளைக் கொண்டு தங்களை மறைத்துக்கொள்ள முற்பட்டார்கள். ஆகவே, ஆதம் (இப்லீஸின் சூழ்ச்சியில் சிக்கித் தவறிழைத்துத்) தன் இறைவனுக்கு மாறு செய்து வழி தவறிவிட்டார்.

பின்னர் (இப்லீஸின் ஆசை வார்த்தைப்படி) அவ்விருவரும் அ(ம் மரத்)தினின்று புசித்தனர்; உடனே அவ்விருவரின் வெட்கத் தலங்களும் வெளியாயின; ஆகவே அவ்விருவரும் சுவர்க்கத்துச் சோலையின் இலையைக் கொண்டு அவற்றை மறைத்துக் கொள்ளலானார்கள்; இவ்வாறு ஆதம் தம்முடைய இறைவனுக்கு மாறு செய்து, அதனால் வழி பிசகி விட்டார்.

(முடிவாக) அவ்விருவரும் அ(ம்மரத்)திலிருந்து புசித்து விட்டார்கள், உடனே (அவ்விருவரின் பார்வையிலிருந்து மறைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த) அவ்விருவரின் மர்மஸ்தானங்களும் அவ்விருவருக்கும் வெளியாயின, அச்சுவனத்தின் இலைகளைக் கொண்டு, தங்களை மறைத்துக்கொள்ள அவ்விருவரும் முற்பட்டனர், ஆகவே, ஆதம் தன் இரட்சகனுக்கு மாறு செய்து விட்டார், எனவே, அவர் வழிதவறிவிட்டார்.

So they both ate from the tree, then their nakedness was revealed to each other, and they began to put together leaves from Paradise to cover themselves. Thus Adam disobeyed his Lord, and fell into error.

Thumma ijtabahu rabbuhu fataba AAalayhi wahada

Then his Lord chose him, and turned to him with forgiveness, and gave him guidance.

Then his Lord chose him and turned to him in forgiveness and guided [him].

பின்னர், (அவர் மன்னிப்புக் கோரவே) அவருடைய இறைவன் அவருடைய குற்றங்களையும் மன்னித்து அவரைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்து நேரான வழியிலும் செலுத்தினான்.

பின்னர் அவரது இறைவன் அவரைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்து அவரை மன்னித்து நேர்வழியும் காட்டினான்.

பின்னர், அவருடைய இரட்சகன் அவரைத் தேர்தெடுத்தான், அவருடைய தவ்பாவை (பாவமீட்சியை) ஏற்று (அவருக்கு) நல்வழியும் காட்டினான்.

Thereafter his Lord chose him, accepted his repentance, and guided him.

Qala ihbita minha jameeAAan baAAdukum libaAAdin AAaduwwun faimma yatiyannakum minnee hudan famani ittabaAAa hudaya fala yadillu wala yashqa

He (Allâh) said:"Get you down (from Paradise to the earth), both of you together, some of you are an enemy to some others. Then if there comes to you guidance from Me, then whoever follows My Guidance he shall neither go astray nor shall be distressed.

[Allah] said, "Descend from Paradise - all, [your descendants] being enemies to one another. And if there should come to you guidance from Me - then whoever follows My guidance will neither go astray [in the world] nor suffer [in the Hereafter].

அன்றி "நீங்கள் இருவரும் இதிலிருந்து வெளியேறி விடுங்கள். உங்க(ளுடைய சந்ததிக)ளில் சிலர் சிலருக்கு எதிரிகளாக ஏற்பட்டு விடுவார்கள். அச்சமயம் நிச்சயமாக என்னுடைய நேர்வழி உங்களிடம் வரும். எவன் என்னுடைய நேர்வழியைப் பின்பற்றுகிறாரோ அவர் வழி தவறவும் மாட்டார்; நஷ்டமடையவும் மாட்டார்.

“இதிலிருந்து நீங்கள் இருவரும் சேகரமாக இங்கிருந்து வெளியேறி விடுங்கள். உங்க(ள் சந்ததிக)ளில் சிலருக்குச் சிலர் பகைவர்களாகவே யிருப்பார்கள்; அப்பொழுது நிச்சயமாக என்னிடமிருந்து உங்களுக்கு நேர்வழி வரும்; எவர் என்னுடைய நேர்வழியைப் பின் பற்றி நடக்கிறாரோ அவர் வழி தவறவும் மாட்டார், நற்பேறிழக்கவும் மாட்டார்.

(அன்றி, அவ்விருவரிடம்) ”நீங்கள் இருவரும் இதிலிருந்து சேகரமாக இறங்கிவிடுங்கள், உங்க(ளுடைய சந்ததிக)ளில் சிலர் சிலருக்கு விரோதிகளாவார்கள், நிச்சயமாக என்னிடமிருந்து நேர்வழி உங்களுக்கு வரும், ஆகவே, என்னுடைய நேர்வழியை எவர் பின்பற்றுகிறாரோ, அவர் வழி தவறமாட்டார், துர்பாக்கியவானாக ஆகவுமாட்டார்” என்று கூறினான்.

Allah said, “Get down, both of you, from here altogether [with Satan] as enemies to one another. Then when there comes to you guidance from Me, whoever follows My guidance will neither go astray nor fall into misery.

Waman aAArada AAan thikree fainna lahu maAAeeshatan dankan wanahshuruhu yawma alqiyamati aAAman

"But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'ân nor acts on its teachings), verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection."

And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind."

எவன் என்னுடைய நல்லுபதேசங்களைப் புறக்கணிக் கின்றானோ அவனுடைய வாழ்க்கை நிச்சயமாக நெருக்கடி யானதாகவே இருக்கும். மறுமை நாளிலோ நாம் அவனைக் குருடனாகவே எழுப்புவோம்.

“எவன் என்னுடைய உபதேசத்தைப் புறக்கணிக்கிறானோ, நிச்சயமாக அவனுக்கு நெருக்கடியான வாழ்க்கையே இருக்கும்; மேலும், நாம் அவனை கியாம நாளில் குருடனாவே எழுப்புவோம்” என்று கூறினான்.

மேலும், “எவர் என்னுடைய நல்லுபதேசத்தைப் புறக்கணிக்கின்றாரோ, நிச்சயமாக அவருக்கு நெருக்கடியான வாழ்க்கையே இருக்கிறது, மேலும், மறுமைநாளில் நாம் அவனைக் குருடனாகவே எழுப்புவோம்.

But whoever turns away from My Reminder will have a miserable life, and on the Day of Resurrection We will raise him blind.”

Qala rabbi lima hashartanee aAAma waqad kuntu baseeran

He will say:"O my Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, while I had sight (before)."

He will say, "My Lord, why have you raised me blind while I was [once] seeing?"

(அச்சமயம்) அவன் "என் இறைவனே! நீ ஏன் என்னைக் குருடனாக எழுப்பினாய்? நான் பார்வையுடையவனாக இருந்தேனே!" என்று கேட்பான்.

(அப்போது அவன்) “என் இறைவனே! நான் பார்வையுடையவனாக இருந்தேனே! என்னை ஏன் குருடனாக எழுப்பினாய்?” என்று கூறுவான்.

(அதுசமயம்) அவன் “என் இரட்சகனே! ஏன் என்னை குருடனாக நீ எழுப்பினாய்? நான் திட்டமாக (உலகத்தில்) பார்க்கிறவனாக இருந்தேனே” என்று கேட்பான்.

He will say, “My Lord, why have you raised me blind, when I was able to see before?”

Qala kathalika atatka ayatuna fanaseetaha wakathalika alyawma tunsa

(Allâh) will say "Like this Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) came to you, but you disregarded them (i.e. you left them, did not think deeply in them, and you turned away from them), and so this Day, you will be neglected (in the Hell-fire, away from Allâh's Mercy)."

[Allah] will say, "Thus did Our signs come to you, and you forgot them; and thus will you this Day be forgotten."

அதற்கு (இறைவன்) "இவ்வாறே (குருடனைப் போன்ற உன் காரியங்கள் இருந்தன) நம் வசனங்கள் உன்னிடம் வந்தன. நீ அவைகளை(க் கவனத்தில் வைக்காது) மறந்துவிட்டாய். அவ்வாறே இன்றைய தினம் நீயும் (கவனிக்கப்படாது) மறக்கப்பட்டுவிட்டாய்" என்று கூறுவான்.

(அதற்கு இறைவன்,) “இவ்விதம்தான் இருக்கும்; நம்முடைய வசனங்கள் உன்னிடம் வந்தன; அவற்றை நீ மறந்துவிட்டாய்; அவ்வாறே இன்றைய தினம் நீயும் மறக்கப்பட்டு விட்டாய்” என்று கூறுவான்.

(அதற்கு) “அவ்வாறே! நம் வசனங்கள் உன்னிடம் வந்தன, நீ அவைகளை மறந்து விட்டாய், (நீ மறந்த) அவ்வாறே இன்றையத்தினம் நீயும் (நம் அருளிலிருந்து) மறக்கப்படுகிறாய்” என்று (அல்லாஹ்) கூறுவான்.

Allah will say, “Similarly Our verses came to you, but you ignored them, so you will be ignored Today.”

Wakathalika najzee man asrafa walam yumin biayati rabbihi walaAAathabu alakhirati ashaddu waabqa

And thus do We requite him who transgresses beyond bounds [i.e. commits the great sins and disobeys his Lord (Allâh) and believes not in His Messengers, and His revealed Books, like this Qur'ân], and believes not in the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of his Lord; and the torment of the Hereafter is far more severe and more lasting.

And thus do We recompense he who transgressed and did not believe in the signs of his Lord. And the punishment of the Hereafter is more severe and more enduring.

எவன் வரம்பு மீறி தன் இறைவனின் வசனங்களை நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளவில்லையோ அவனுக்கும் இவ்வாறே நாம் கூலி கொடுப்போம். (அவனுக்குக் கிடைக்கும்) மறுமையின் வேதனையோ மகா கடினமானதும் நிலையானதும் ஆகும்.

ஆகவே, எவன் தன் இறைவனுடைய வசனங்களின் மேல் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளாமல், வரம்பு மீறி நடக்கின்றானோ அவனுக்கு இவ்வாறுதான் நாம் கூலி கொடுப்போம்; மேலும் மறுமையின் வேதனை மிகவும் கடினமானதும் நிலையானதுமாகும்.

எனவே, தன் இரட்சகனின் வசனங்களை விசுவாசிக்காது வரம்பு மீறி நடக்கின்றவருக்கு இவ்வாறே நாம் கூலி கொடுப்போம், (அவனுக்குக் கிடைக்கும்) மறுமையின் வேதனையோ மிகக் கடினமானதும், நிலையானதுமாகும்.

This is how We recompense those who transgress the limits and do not believe in the verses of his Lord; and the punishment of the Hereafter is more severe and more lasting.

Afalam yahdi lahum kam ahlakna qablahum mina alqurooni yamshoona fee masakinihim inna fee thalika laayatin liolee alnnuha

Is it not a guidance for them (to know) how many generations We have destroyed before them, in whose dwellings they walk? Verily, in this are signs indeed for men of understanding.

Then, has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them as they walk among their dwellings? Indeed in that are signs for those of intelligence.

இவர்களுக்கு முன் இருந்த எத்தனையோ வகுப்பாரை நாம் அழித்து விட்டோம் என்ற விஷயம் இவர்களை நேரான வழியில் செலுத்தவில்லையா? (அழிந்துபோன) அவர்கள் வசித்திருந்த இடங்களுக்குச் சமீபமாகவே இவர்கள் செல்கின்றனர். அறிவுடையவர்களுக்கு நிச்சயமாக அதில் பல அத்தாட்சிகள் இருக்கின்றன.

இவர்களுக்கு முன் நாம் எத்தனையோ தலைமுறையினரை அழித்திருக்கிறோம் என்பது அவர்களுக்கு(ப் படிப்பினையைத் தந்து) நேர் வழி காட்டவில்லையா? (அழிந்து போன) அவர்கள் குடியிருந்த இடங்களில் தானே இவர்கள் நடக்கிறார்கள்; நிச்சயமாக அதில் அறிவுடையோருக்கு அத்தாட்சிகள் உள்ளன.

இவர்களுக்கு முன்னர் எத்தனையோ தலைமுறையினரை நாம் அழித்து விட்டோம் என்பது இவர்களை நேர்வழியில் செலுத்தவில்லையா? (அழிக்கப்பட்ட) அவர்கள் குடியிருந்த இடங்களில் (சமீபமாகவே) இவர்கள் செல்கின்றனர், அறிவுடையோருக்கு, நிச்சயமாக அதில் பல அத்தாட்சிகள் இருக்கின்றன.

Is it not yet clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them, in whose dwellings they still walk about? There are signs in this for people of sound intellect.

Walawla kalimatun sabaqat min rabbika lakana lizaman waajalun musamman

And had it not been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord, and a term determined, (their punishment) must necessarily have come (in this world).

And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, punishment would have been an obligation [due immediately], and [if not for] a specified term [decreed].

(நபியே! அவர்களின் தண்டனைக்குரிய காலம் மறுமைதான் என்று) ஒரு தவணையைக் குறிப்பிட்டிருக்கும் உங்கள் இறைவனின் வாக்கு முன்னதாகவே ஏற்பட்டிராவிடில் (இச்சமயமே) வேதனை அவர்களைப் பிடித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கும்.

உமது இறைவனிடமிருந்து ஒரு வாக்கும் (தண்டனைக்கான) குறிப்பிடபட்ட ஒரு தவணையும் முந்திரா விட்டால் அது (வேதனை) ஏற்பட்டு இருக்கும்.

மேலும், (நபியே! தீர்ப்பளிக்கப்படுவது மறுமையில்தான் என்ற) உம்முடைய இரட்சகனின் வாக்கு மற்றும் குறிப்பிடப்பட்ட தவணை முந்தியிராவிட்டால் அ(ழிவான)து கட்டாயமாகியிருக்கும்.

Were it not for a prior decree from your Lord [O Prophet] and a time already set, they would have already been punishment.

Faisbir AAala ma yaqooloona wasabbih bihamdi rabbika qabla tulooAAi alshshamsi waqabla ghuroobiha wamin anai allayli fasabbih waatrafa alnnahari laAAallaka tarda

So bear patiently (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) what they say, and glorify the praises of your Lord before the rising of the sun, and before its setting, and during some hours of the night, and at the ends of the day (an indication for the five compulsory congregational prayers), that you may become pleased (with the reward which Allâh shall give you).

So be patient over what they say and exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting; and during periods of the night [exalt Him] and at the ends of the day, that you may be satisfied.

ஆகவே, அவர்கள் (உங்களைக் குறைவுபடுத்திக்) கூறுவதைப் பற்றி நீங்கள் பொறுமையுடன் சகித்திருங்கள். சூரியன் உதயமாவதற்கு முன்னரும், சூரியன் மறைவதற்கு முன்னரும், இரவு காலங்களிலும், (பகல் காலங்களிலும்) உங்கள் இறைவனைப் புகழ்ந்து துதி செய்துகொண்டிருங்கள். இவ்வாறே பகலின் இருமுனைகளிலும் (இறைவனைப் புகழ்ந்து துதி செய்துகொண்டு இருங்கள். இதனால்) நீங்கள் திருப்தி அடையலாம்.

ஆகவே (நபியே!) அவர்கள் சொல்வதை(யெல்லாம்) நீர் பொறுத்துக் கொள்வீராக; இன்னும் சூரியன் உதிப்பதற்கு முன்னும், அது அடைவதற்கு முன்னும், இரவின் நேரங்களிலும் உம்முடைய இறைவனின் புகழைத் துதித்துத் தொழுவீராக; மேலும் இன்னும் பகலின் (இரு) முனைகளிலும் இவ்வாறே துதி செய்து தொழுவீராக; இதனால் (நன்மைகளடைந்து) நீர் திருப்தி பெறலாம்.

ஆகவே, அவர்கள் (உம்மைக் குறை) கூறுவதைப்பற்றி நீர் பொறுத்துக் கொள்வீராக! மேலும் சூரிய உதயத்திற்கு முன்னரும், அது மறைவதற்கு முன்னரும் உம்முடைய இரட்சகனின் புகழைக்கொண்டு துதி செய்து கொண்டிருப்பீராக! இரவு நேரங்களிலும் (இவ்வாறே) பகலின் ஓரங்களிலும் (இரட்சகனைப் புகழ்ந்து) துதி செய்து கொண்டிருப்பீராக! இதனால் நீர் திருப்தியடையலாம்.

So be patient with what they say, and glorify your Lord with praise before sunrise and before sunset, and glorify Him during the night and at both ends of the day, so that you may be pleased [with the reward].

Wala tamuddanna AAaynayka ila ma mattaAAna bihi azwajan minhum zahrata alhayati alddunya linaftinahum feehi warizqu rabbika khayrun waabqa

And strain not your eyes in longing for the things We have given for enjoyment to various groups of them (polytheists and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh), the splendour of the life of this world, that We may test them thereby. But the provision (good reward in the Hereafter) of your Lord is better and more lasting.

And do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [some] categories of them, [its being but] the splendor of worldly life by which We test them. And the provision of your Lord is better and more enduring.

(நபியே!) அவர்களில் சிலருக்கு சுகமனுபவிக்க நாம் கொடுத்து இருப்பவற்றின் பக்கம் நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய பார்வையைச் செலுத்தாதீர்கள். இவை யாவும் இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையின் அலங்காரங்களே! அவர்களைச் சோதிப்பதற்காகவே (நாம் இவைகளை அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறோம்.) ஆனால், உங்கள் இறைவன் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்திருப்பதோ மிக்க மேலானதும் நிலையானதுமாகும்.

இன்னும், அவர்களில் சில பிரிவினர் இன்பமனுபவிக்க நாம் கொடுத்திருக்கும் (வாழ்க்கை வசதிகளின்) பக்கம் உமது கண்களை நீட்டாதீர்; (இவை யெல்லாம்) அவர்களைச் சோதிப்பதற்காகவே நாம் கொடுத்துள்ள உலக வாழ்க்கையின் அலங்காரங்களாகும். உமது இறைவன் (மறுமையில் உமக்கு) வழங்கவிருப்பது சிறந்ததும் நிலையானதும் ஆகும்.

(நபியே!) அவர்களில் சில பிரிவாருக்கு உலக வாழ்க்கையின் அலங்காரமாக எதைக்கொண்டு சுகமனுபவிக்கச் செய்திருக்கிறோமோ அதன் பக்கம் உம்முடைய இரு கண்களையும் நீர் திண்ணமாகச் செலுத்த வேண்டாம், (இவையாவும்) அதில் அவர்களை சோதிப்பதற்காகவே (நாம் கொடுத்திருக்கிறோம்.) ஆனால் உம் இரட்சகன் (உமக்கு மறுமையில்) கொடுக்கவிருப்பது மிகச் சிறந்ததும், மிக நிலையானதுமாகும்.

Do not turn your eyes covetously towards the various forms of splendor of this life that We have given some of the [disbelievers] to enjoy, as a trial for them. But the provision of your Lord is far better and more lasting.

Wamur ahlaka bialssalati waistabir AAalayha la nasaluka rizqan nahnu narzuquka waalAAaqibatu lilttaqwa

And enjoin As-Salât (the prayers) on your family, and be patient in offering them [i.e. the Salât (prayers)]. We ask not of you a provision (i.e. to give Us something: money): We provide for you. And the good end (i.e. Paradise) is for the Muttaqûn (the pious. See V.2:2).

And enjoin prayer upon your family [and people] and be steadfast therein. We ask you not for provision; We provide for you, and the [best] outcome is for [those of] righteousness.

(நபியே!) தொழுது வருமாறு நீங்கள் உங்கள் குடும்பத்தினரை ஏவுங்கள். நீங்களும் அதன் மீது உறுதியாக இருங்கள். (இதற்காக) நாம் உங்களிடம் யாதொன்றையும் கேட்கவில்லை. உங்களுக்கு வேண்டியவற்றை எல்லாம் நாமே கொடுக்கிறோம். முடிவான நன்மை பரிசுத்த தன்மைக்குத்தான்.

(நபியே!) உம் குடும்பத்தினரைத் தொழுது வருமாறு நீர் ஏவுவீராக! (தொழுகையின் மீது) நீர் பொறுமையும், உறுதியும் கொண்டிருப்பீராக! நாம் உம்மிடம் உணவு கேட்கவில்லை; ஆனால் உமக்கு உணவை நாம் கொடுக்கிறோம்; இறுதியாகச் சிறந்த நிலை பயபக்தி(யுடையோரு)க்குத் தான்.

மேலும், (நபியே!) “நீர் உம் குடும்பத்தினரைத் தொழுகையைக் கொண்டு ஏவுவீராக! நீரும் அதன் மீது (பொறுமையுடன்) நிலைத்திருப்பீராக! நாம் உம்மிடம் உணவைக்கேட்கவில்லை, உமக்கு நாமே உணவளிக்கிறோம், மேலும் நல்ல முடிவு பயபக்தி (உடையவர்களு)க்கே உரியதாகும்.

Enjoin your household to perform prayer and adhere to it firmly. We ask no provision from you; rather, it is We Who give you provision. And the best outcome is for those who fear Allah.

Waqaloo lawla yateena biayatin min rabbihi awalam tatihim bayyinatu ma fee alssuhufi aloola

They say: "Why does he not bring us a sign (proof) from his Lord?" Has there not come to them the proof of that which is (written) in the former papers [Scriptures, i.e. the Taurât (Torah), and the Injîl (Gospel), about the coming of the Prophet Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]]?

And they say, "Why does he not bring us a sign from his Lord?" Has there not come to them evidence of what was in the former scriptures?

("இறைவனின் தூதராகிய) அவர் தன் இறைவனிடமிருந்து (நாம் விரும்புகிறவாறு) ஓர் அத்தாட்சியைக் கொண்டு வரவேண்டாமா?" என்று அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர். முந்திய வேதங்களிலுள்ள தெளிவான முன்னறிக்கை அவர்களிடம் வரவில்லையா? (வந்தே இருக்கிறது.)

“தம் இறைவனிடமிருந்து ஓர் அத்தாட்சியை ஏன் அவர் நம்மிடம் கொண்டு வரவில்லை?” என்று (நிராகரிப்போர்) கேட்கின்றனர்; முந்தைய வேதங்களில் உள்ள தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகள் அவர்களுக்கு வரவில்லையா?

“தன் இரட்சகனிடமிருந்து ஓர் அத்தாட்சியை அவர் நம்மிடம் கொண்டு வர வேண்டாமா?” என்றும் அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர், முந்திய வேதங்களிலுள்ள தெளிவு, (அத்தாட்சி) அவர்களிடம் வரவில்லையா?

They say, “Why does he not bring us a sign from his Lord?” Has there not come to them [the Qur’an as] a confirmation of what is in the earlier Scriptures?

Walaw anna ahlaknahum biAAathabin min qablihi laqaloo rabbana lawla arsalta ilayna rasoolan fanattabiAAa ayatika min qabli an nathilla wanakhza

And if We had destroyed them with a torment before this (i.e. Messenger Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] and the Qur'ân), they would surely have said: "Our Lord! If only You had sent us a Messenger, we should certainly have followed Your Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), before we were humiliated and disgraced."

And if We had destroyed them with a punishment before him, they would have said, "Our Lord, why did You not send to us a messenger so we could have followed Your verses before we were humiliated and disgraced?"

(நம்முடைய தூதராகிய) இவர் வருவதற்கு முன்னதாகவே நாம் அவர்களை வேதனை செய்தால் "எங்கள் இறைவனே! நீ எங்களுக்கு ஒரு தூதரை அனுப்பியிருக்க வேண்டாமா? (அவ்வாறு அனுப்பியிருந்தால்) நாங்கள் இந்த இழிவுக்கும் நிந்தனைக்கும் உள்ளாவதற்கு முன்னதாகவே உன்னுடைய வசனங்களைப் பின்பற்றியிருப்போம்" என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

இன்னும் (நம் தூதர்) வருவதற்கு முன், நாம் இவர்களை வேதனை செய்து அழித்திருந்தால், அவர்கள், “எங்கள் இறைவா! நீ எங்களுக்கு ஒரு தூதரை அனுப்பியிருக்க வேண்டாமா? அவ்வாறாயின் நாங்கள் சிறுமைப்படுவதற்கும், கேவலப்படுவதற்கும் முன் உன் வசனங்களைப் பின்பற்றியிருப்போமே” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

மேலும், (நம் தூதராகிய) இவருக்கு முன்னதாகவே நிச்சயமாக நாம் இவர்களை வேதனையைக் கொண்டு அழித்திருந்தால், “எங்கள் இரட்சகனே! நீ எங்களுக்கு ஒரு தூதரை அனுப்பியிருக்க வேண்டாமா? (அவ்வாறிருந்தால்) நாங்கள் இழிவுபடுவதற்கும், கேவலப்படுவதற்கும் முன்னதாகவே உன்னுடைய வசனங்களை நாங்கள் பின்பற்றியிருப்போமே” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

If We had destroyed them with a punishment before this, they would have said, “Our Lord, if only You had sent us a messenger so that we would have followed Your verses before being humiliated and disgraced.”

Qul kullun mutarabbisun fatarabbasoo fasataAAlamoona man ashabu alssirati alssawiyyi wamani ihtada

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "Each one (believer and disbeliever) is waiting, so wait you too; and you shall know who are they that are on the Straight and Even Path (i.e. Allâh's religion of Islâmic Monotheism), and who are they that have let themselves be guided (on the Right Path)."

Say, "Each [of us] is waiting; so wait. For you will know who are the companions of the sound path and who is guided."

(நபியே! நீங்கள்) கூறுங்கள்: "ஒவ்வொருவரும் (தங்களுக்கு வர வேண்டியதை) எதிர்பார்த்திருப்பவர்களே! ஆகவே, நீங்களும் (உங்களுக்கு வரவேண்டியதை) எதிர்பார்த்திருங்கள். நேரான வழியில் இருப்பவர் யார்? (தவறான வழியில் இருப்பவர் யார்?) நேரான வழியை அடைந்துவிட்டவர்கள் யார்? என்பதைப் பின்னர் நீங்கள் நிச்சயமாக நன்கறிந்து கொள்வீர்கள்.

(நபியே! “இறுதி நாளை) அனைவரும் எதிர்பார்த்திருப்பவர்களே! ஆகவே நீங்களும் எதிர்பார்த்திருங்கள், நேரான வழியை உடையவர் யார்? நேர் வழி அடைந்து விட்டவர்கள் யார்? என்பதையும் திடமாக நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொள்வீர்கள்” என்று நீர் கூறுவீராக.

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக! ஒவ்வொருவரும் (மறுமைநாளை) எதிர்பார்த்திருப்பவரே! ஆகவே, நீங்களும் எதிர்பார்த்திருங்கள்; நேரான வழியை உடையவர்கள் யார்? என்பதையும், நேர்வழி பெற்றவர் யார்? என்பதையும் (பின்னர்) நீங்கள் நிச்சயமாக நன்கறிந்து கொள்வீர்கள்.

Say, “Each of us is waiting, so wait! You will come to know who are the people of the straight path and who are rightly guided.”
