14 - Ibraheem (Abraham)

Aliflamra kitabun anzalnahu ilayka litukhrija alnnasa mina alththulumati ila alnnoori biithni rabbihim ila sirati alAAazeezi alhameedi

Alif-Lâm-Râ.[These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'ân, and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings.](This is) a Book which We have revealed to you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) in order that you might lead mankind out of darkness (of disbelief and polytheism) into light (of belief in the Oneness of Allâh and Islâmic Monotheism) by their Lord's Leave to the path of the All-Mighty, the Owner of all praise.

Alif, Lam, Ra. [This is] a Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that you might bring mankind out of darknesses into the light by permission of their Lord - to the path of the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy -

அலிஃப்; லாம்; றா. (நபியே! இது) வேத நூல். இதனை நாமே உங்கள்மீது இறக்கியிருக்கின்றோம். (இதன் மூலம்) மனிதர்களை அவர்கள் இறைவனின் கட்டளைப்படி இருள்களிலிருந்து வெளியேற்றி ஒளியின் பக்கம் நீங்கள் கொண்டு வாருங்கள்! (அந்த ஒளியோ) மிக்க புகழுக்குரிய (அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) அனைவரையும் மிகைத்தவனின் நேரான வழியாகும்.

அலிஃப், லாம், றா. (நபியே! இது) வேதமாகும்; மனிதர்களை அவர்களுடைய இறைவனின் அனுமதியைக் கொண்டு இருள்களிலிருந்து வெளியேற்றிப் பிரகாசத்தின் பால் நீர் கொண்டுவருவதற்காக இ(வ் வேதத்)தை நாமே உம்மீது இறக்கியிருக்கின்றோம்; புகழுக்குரியவனும், வல்லமை மிக்கோனுமாகிய (அல்லாஹ்வின்) பாதையில் (அவர்களை நீர் கொண்டுவருவீராக!).

அலிஃப் லாம் றா (நபியே! இது) வேதமாகும், (இதன் மூலம்) மனிதர்களை அவர்களுடைய இரட்சகனின் அனுமதி கொண்டு இருள்களிலிருந்து பிரகாசத்தின்பால்-(சகலரையும்) மிகைத்தோன், புகழுக்குரியோன் ஆகியவனின் பாதையின்பால்-நீர் வெளியேற்றுவதற்காக இ(வ்வேதத்)தை நாமே உம்மீது இறக்கி வைத்திருக்கிறோம்.

Alif Lām Ra. This is a book that We have sent down to you, so that you may bring people out of the depths of darkness into the light, by their Lord’s permission, to the path of the All-Mighty, the Praiseworthy.

Allahi allathee lahu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi wawaylun lilkafireena min AAathabin shadeedin

Allâh to Whom belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth! And woe to the disbelievers from a severe torment.

Allah, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And woe to the disbelievers from a severe punishment

அந்த அல்லாஹ் (எத்தகையவனென்றால்) வானங்களிலும் பூமியிலும் இருப்பவை அனைத்தும் அவனுக்குச் சொந்த மானவையே! ஆகவே, (இதனை) நிராகரிப்பவர்களுக்கு வந்தடையும் கடினமான வேதனையின் காரணமாக (அவர்களுக்குப்) பெருங்கேடுதான்.

அல்லாஹ் எத்தகையவன் என்றால் வானங்களில் உள்ளவையும், பூமியில் உள்ளவையும் அவனுக்கே சொந்தாமாகும்; இன்னும் (இதை) நிராகரிப்போருக்குக் கடினமான வேதனையினால் பெருங்கேடுதான்.

(அவனே) அல்லாஹ், (அவன்) எத்தகையவனென்றால் வானங்களில் உள்ளவையும் பூமியில் உள்ளவையும் அவனுக்கே உரியன, மேலும், (இதனை) நிராகரிப்போருக்கு கடினமான வேதனையின் காரணமாக பெருங்கேடுதான்.

Allah, to Whom belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth. And woe to the disbelievers from a severe punishment!

Allatheena yastahibboona alhayata alddunya AAala alakhirati wayasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi wayabghoonaha AAiwajan olaika fee dalalin baAAeedin

Those who prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter, and hinder (men) from the path of Allâh (i.e. Islâm) and seek crookedness therein – they are far astray.

The ones who prefer the worldly life over the Hereafter and avert [people] from the way of Allah, seeking to make it (seem) deviant. Those are in extreme error.

இவர்கள் மறுமையைவிட இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையையே விரும்புகின்றனர். அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வழியில் (அவர்கள் செல்லாத துடன், மற்றவர்களையும் அதில் செல்லாது) தடுத்துக்கொண்டு அதில் கோணலையும் உண்டு பண்ணுகின்றனர். இத்தகையவர்கள் வெகு தூரமான வழிகேட்டில்தான் இருக்கிறார்கள்.

இவர்கள் மறுமையைவிட இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையையே (அதிகமாக) நேசிக்கின்றார்கள்; அல்லாஹ்வின் வழியை விட்டும் (மற்றவர்களையும்) தடுக்கின்றார்கள்; அது கோணலாக (இருக்க வேண்டுமென) விரும்புகிறார்கள் - இவர்கள் மிகவும் தூரமான வழிகேட்டிலேயே இருக்கின்றார்கள்.

(நிராகரிப்போராகிய) அவர்கள் எத்தகையோரென்றால் மறுமையைவிட இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையையே விரும்புகின்றனர், அல்லாஹ்வுடைய பாதையை விட்டும் (மற்றவர்களை) தடுக்கின்றனர், (அப்பாதை மிகச் சரியானதாயிருக்க) அதை கோணலுடையதாகவும் தேடுகின்றனர், அவர்கள் வெகுதூரமான வழிகேட்டிலிருக்கின்றனர்.

Those who prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter and prevent [people] from Allah’s way, seeking to make it crooked; it is they who have gone far astray.

Wama arsalna min rasoolin illa bilisani qawmihi liyubayyina lahum fayudillu Allahu man yashao wayahdee man yashao wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu

And We sent not a Messenger except with the language of his people, in order that he might make (the Message) clear for them. Then Allâh misleads whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

And We did not send any messenger except [speaking] in the language of his people to state clearly for them, and Allah sends astray [thereby] whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

(நபியே!) ஒவ்வொரு தூதரும் தன் மக்களுக்குத் தெளிவாக விவரித்துக் கூறும் பொருட்டு, அந்தந்த மக்களின் மொழியைக் கொண்டே (போதனை புரியுமாறு) நாம் அவர்களை அனுப்பி வைத்தோம். (அந்தத் தூதர்கள் எவ்வளவு முயற்சித்தபோதிலும் அவர்கள் செய்யும் நன்மை தீமைக்குத் தக்கவாறு) அல்லாஹ் நாடியவர்களை தவறான வழியில் விட்டுவிடுகிறான். (நற்செயல்கள் செய்யும்) அவன் விரும்புகிறவர்களை நேரான வழியில் செலுத்துகிறான். அவன் அனைத்தையும் மிகைத்தவனும், ஞானமுடையவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

ஒவ்வொரு தூதரையும் அவருடைய சமூகத்தாருக்கு அவர் விளக்கிக் கூறுவதற்காக அவர்களுடைய மொழியிலேயே (போதிக்கும் படி) நாம் அனுப்பிவைத்தோம்; அல்லாஹ் தான் நாடியோரை வழிதவறச் செய்கின்றான், தான் நாடியோருக்கு நேர்வழியையும் காண்பிக்கின்றான்; அவன் மிகைத்தவனாகவும் ஞானமுடையவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

மேலும், (நபியே! ஒவ்வொரு சமூகத்தார்க்கும்) அவர்களுக்கு (நம் தூதுத்துவத்தை) அவர் விளக்கிக் கூறுவதற்காக, எந்த ஒரு தூதரையும் அவ(ரவ)ருடைய சமூகத்தாரின் மொழியைக் கொண்டேயல்லாது நாம் அனுப்பவில்லை, (ஆகவே) அல்லாஹ் நாடியவர்களை தவறான வழியில் விட்டு விடுகிறான், மேலும், அவன் நாடியவர்களை நேர் வழியில் செலுத்துகிறான், அவனே (யாவற்றையும்) மிகைத்தவன், தீர்க்கமான அறிவுடையவன்.

We did not send any messenger but in the language of his people to make things clear for them. Allah causes to stray whom He wills and guides whom He wills, and He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

Walaqad arsalna moosa biayatina an akhrij qawmaka mina alththulumati ila alnnoori wathakkirhum biayyami Allahi inna fee thalika laayatin likulli sabbarin shakoorin

And indeed We sent Mûsâ (Moses) with Our Ayât (signs, proofs, and evidences) (saying): "Bring out your people from darkness into light, and remind them of the Blessings of Allâh. Truly, therein are Ayât (evidences, proofs and signs) for every patient, thankful (person)." (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)

And We certainly sent Moses with Our signs, [saying], "Bring out your people from darknesses into the light and remind them of the days of Allah." Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.

நிச்சயமாக நாம் மூஸாவை நம்முடைய பல அத்தாட்சி களுடன் அனுப்பி வைத்து "நீங்கள் உங்கள் மக்களை இருள்களில் இருந்து வெளியேற்றி ஒளியின் பக்கம் கொண்டு வாருங்கள். அல்லாஹ்வி(ன் கட்டளையி)னால் ஏற்பட்ட பல சம்பவங்களை நீங்கள் அவர்களுக்கு ஞாபகமூட்டுங்கள்" என்று அவருக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டோம். (கஷ்டங்களைச்) சகித்துப் பொறுமையுடன் இருப்பவர்கள், நன்றி செலுத்துபவர்கள் ஆகிய அனைவருக்கும் நிச்சயமாக இதில் பல படிப்பினைகள் இருக்கின்றன.

நிச்சயமாக, நாம் மூஸாவை நம்முடைய அத்தாட்சிகளை கொண்டு அனுப்பிவைத்து, “நீர் உம்முடைய சமூகத்தினரை இருள்களிலிருந்து, வெளியேற்றிப் பிரகாசத்தின் பால் கொண்டு வாரும், அல்லாஹ்வின் அருட்கொடைகளை அவர்களுக்கு நினைவூட்டுவீராக” என்று கட்டளையிட்டோம்; நிச்சயமாக இதில் பொறுமையுடையோர், நன்றி செலுத்துவோர் எல்லோருக்கும் படிப்பினைகள் இருக்கின்றன.

திட்டமாக நாம் மூஸாவை நம்முடைய பல அத்தாட்சிகளுடன் அனுப்பிவைத்து, நீர் உம் சமூகத்தாரை இருள்களிலிருந்து பிரகாசத்தின்பால் வெளியேற்றுவீராக! இன்னும், (சென்றுவிட்ட சமூகத்தாரில் அருட்கொடைகளாலும், தண்டனைகளாலும் நிறைய பெற்ற) அல்லாஹ்வின் (அந்)நாட்களை அவர்களுக்கு நீர் நினைவூட்டுவீராக” (என்று அவருக்கு நாம் ஏவினோம்.) மிகுந்த பொறுமையுடனிருப்போர், அதிக நன்றி செலுத்துவோர் ஆகிய ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் நிச்சயமாக இதில் பல அத்தாட்சிகள் இருக்கின்றன.

We sent Moses with Our signs [saying], “Bring your people out of the depths of darkness into the light, and remind them of Allah’s days [of favor]. Indeed, there are signs in this for every patient and grateful person.

Waith qala moosa liqawmihi othkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykum ith anjakum min ali firAAawna yasoomoonakum sooa alAAathabi wayuthabbihoona abnaakum wayastahyoona nisaakum wafee thalikum balaon min rabbikum AAatheemun

And (remember) when Mûsâ (Moses) said to his people: "Call to mind Allâh's Favour to you, when He delivered you from Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people who were afflicting you with horrible torment, and were slaughtering your sons and letting your women alive; and in it was a tremendous trial from your Lord."

And [recall, O Children of Israel], when Moses said to His people, "Remember the favor of Allah upon you when He saved you from the people of Pharaoh, who were afflicting you with the worst torment and were slaughtering your [newborn] sons and keeping your females alive. And in that was a great trial from your Lord.

மூஸா தன் மக்களை நோக்கிக் கூறிய சமயத்தில் "அல்லாஹ் உங்களுக்குப் புரிந்திருக்கும் அருளை நினைத்துப் பாருங்கள்: அவன் உங்களை ஃபிர்அவ்னுடைய கூட்டத்தாரிடமிருந்து காப்பாற்றினான். அவர்களோ உங்களுக்குக் கொடிய நோவினை செய்துகொண்டு வந்ததுடன், உங்கள் ஆண்பிள்ளையை வதை செய்து பெண்பிள்ளையை (மட்டும்) உயிருடன் வாழவிட்டுக் கொண்டுமிருந்தார்கள். இதில் உங்கள் இறைவனால் உங்களுக்குப் பெரும் சோதனை ஏற்பட்டிருந்தது" (என்று கூறினார்.)

மூஸா தம் சமூகத்தாரிடம்: ஃபிர்அவ்னுடைய கூட்டத்தாரிடமிருந்து (அல்லாஹ்) உங்களைக் காப்பாற்றிய போது, அல்லாஹ் உங்களுக்குப் புரிந்த அருள் கொடையை நினைத்துப் பாருங்கள்; அவர்களோ, உங்களைக் கொடிய வேதனையால் துன்புறுத்தியதுடன், உங்களுடைய ஆண் குழந்தைகளை அறுத்(துக் கொலை செய்)தும் உங்கள் பெண்மக்களை (மட்டும்) உயிருடன் விட்டுக் கொண்டும் இருந்தார்கள் - இதில் உங்கள் இறைவனிடமிருந்து உங்களுக்கு மகத்தான சோதனை (ஏற்பட்டு) இருந்தது” என்று கூறினார்.

மூஸா தன் சமூகத்தாரிடம்,“ அல்லாஹ் உங்கள் மீது – அவன் உங்களை ஃபிர் அவ்னுடைய கூட்டத்தாரிடமிருந்து காப்பாற்றியபொழுது – புரிந்திருக்கும் அருட்கொடையை நினைத்துப் பாருங்கள், அவர்கள் உங்களை கொடிய வேதனை செய்து கொண்டிருந்தார்கள், மேலும், உங்கள் ஆண் மக்களை அறுத்(துக் கொலை செய்)தும் பெண் மக்களை (உயிருடன் வாழ)விட்டும் விட்டார்கள், இதில் உங்கள் இரட்சகனிடமிருந்து உங்களுக்குப் பெரும்சோதனை ஏற்பட்டிருந்தது” என்றும் கூறியதை (நபியே!) நீர் நினைவு கூர்வீராக!

And [remember] when Moses said to his people, “Remember Allah’s favor upon you when He saved you from Pharaoh’s people who were inflicting upon you the worst torment, slaughtering your sons and keeping your women alive; that was a great trial from your Lord.

Waith taaththana rabbukum lain shakartum laazeedannakum walain kafartum inna AAathabee lashadeedun

And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: "If you give thanks (by accepting Faith and worshipping none but Allâh), I will give you more (of My Blessings); but if you are thankless (i.e. disbelievers), verily, My punishment is indeed severe."

And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.' "

அன்றி, உங்கள் இறைவன் (உங்களை நோக்கி, "இதற்காக) நீங்கள் (எனக்கு) நன்றி செலுத்தினால் (நான் என்னுடைய அருளைப் பின்னும்) உங்களுக்கு அதிகப்படுத்துவேன். நீங்கள் (என்னுடைய அருளுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தாது) மாறுசெய்தால் நிச்சயமாக என்னுடைய வேதனை மிகக் கொடியதாக இருக்கும் என்று அறிக்கையிட்டதையும் (நபியே!) நீங்கள் (அவர்களுக்கு) ஞாபகமூட்டுங்கள்.

“(இதற்காக எனக்கு) நீங்கள் நன்றி செலுத்தினால், உங்களுக்கு நிச்சயமாக நான் (என்னருளை) அதிகமாக்குவேன்; (அவ்வாறில்லாது) நீங்கள் மாறு செய்தீர்களானால் நிச்சயமாக என்னுடைய வேதனை மிகக் கடுமையானதாக இருக்கும்” என்று உங்களுக்கு இறைவன் அறிக்கை இட்டதையும் (நினைவு கூறுங்கள்).

அன்றியும் உங்கள் இரட்சகன் (இதற்காக) நீங்கள் (எனக்கு)நன்றி செலுத்தினால் (என் அருளை) நிச்சயமாக உங்களுக்கு அதிகப்படுத்துவேன், இன்னும், நீங்கள் மாறு செய்தீர்களானால், நிச்சயமாக என்னுடைய வேதனை மிகக் கடினமானது” என்று அறிவித்ததையும் (நபியே!) நீர் நினைவு கூர்வீராக!

And [remember] when your Lord declared, ‘If you are grateful, I will surely give you more; but if you are ungrateful, My punishment is severe indeed.’”

Waqala moosa in takfuroo antum waman fee alardi jameeAAan fainna Allaha laghaniyyun hameedun

And Mûsâ (Moses) said: "If you disbelieve, you and all on earth together, then verily, Allâh is Rich (Free of all needs), Owner of all praise."

And Moses said, "If you should disbelieve, you and whoever is on the earth entirely - indeed, Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy."

பின்னும், மூஸா (தன் மக்களை நோக்கி) "நீங்களும் உலகிலுள்ள மக்கள் அனைவரும் (இறைவனுக்கு முற்றிலும்) மாறு செய்தபோதிலும் (அவனுக்கு ஒன்றும் நஷ்டம் ஏற்பட்டு விடாது.) ஏனென்றால், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (எவருடைய உதவியும்) தேவையற்றவனாகவும், புகழுக்குரியவனாகவும் இருக்கிறான்" என்றும் கூறினார்.

மேலும் மூஸா (தம் சமூகத்தாரிடம்) “நீங்களும், பூமியிலுள்ள அனைவரும் சேர்ந்து மாறு செய்த போதிலும், (அவனுக்கு யாதொரு நஷ்டமும் ஏற்படாது;) நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் தேவையற்றோனும், புகழுடையோனுமாக இருக்கின்றான்” என்றும் கூறினார்.

இன்னும், மூஸா (தன் சமூகத்தாரிடம்) “நீங்களும் பூமியிலுள்ள (மனிதர்கள்) அனைவரும் (அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) மாறு செய்த போதிலும் நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் தேவையற்றவன், புகழப்படுபவன்” என்றும் கூறினார்.

And Moses said, “If you and all those who are on earth were to disbelieve, indeed Allah is Self-Sufficient, Praiseworthy.”

Alam yatikum nabao allatheena min qablikum qawmi noohin waAAadin wathamooda waallatheena min baAAdihim la yaAAlamuhum illa Allahu jaathum rusuluhum bialbayyinati faraddoo aydiyahum fee afwahihim waqaloo inna kafarna bima orsiltum bihi wainna lafee shakkin mimma tadAAoonana ilayhi mureebun

Has not the news reached you, of those before you, the people of Nûh (Noah), and 'آd, and Thamûd? And those after them? None knows them but Allâh. To them came their Messengers with clear proofs, but they put their hands in their mouths (biting them from anger) and said: "Verily, we disbelieve in that with which you have been sent, and we are really in grave doubt as to that to which you invite us (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism)."

Has there not reached you the news of those before you - the people of Noah and 'Aad and Thamud and those after them? No one knows them but Allah. Their messengers brought them clear proofs, but they returned their hands to their mouths and said, "Indeed, we disbelieve in that with which you have been sent, and indeed we are, about that to which you invite us, in disquieting doubt."

உங்களுக்கு முன்னர் சென்றுபோன நூஹ், ஆது, ஸமூது போன்ற மக்களுடைய சரித்திரமும் அவர்களுக்குப் பின்னர் வந்தவர்களுடைய சரித்திரமும் உங்களுக்குக் கிடைக்கவில்லையா? அவர்களின் விபரங்களை அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர மற்றெவராலும் அறிந்துகொள்ள முடியாது. அந்த மக்களிடம் அனுப்பப்பட்ட (நம்முடைய) தூதர்கள் தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகளுடன் அவர்களிடம் வந்(து நேரான வழிக்கு "வாருங்கள் வாருங்கள்" என்று தங்கள் இரு கைகளையும் விரித்து அழைத்)த சமயத்தில், அவர்களுடைய கைகளை அவர்களுடைய வாயின் பக்கமே தட்டிவிட்டு (அவர்களை நோக்கி,) "நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் (இறைவனின் கட்டளை என்று) நீங்கள் கொண்டு வந்திருப்பதை நிராகரிக்கிறோம். அன்றி, நீங்கள் எங்களை எதன் பக்கம் அழைக்கின்றீர்களோ அதைப்பற்றி நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் பெரும் சந்தேகத்தில் இருக்கிறோம்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

உங்களுக்கு முன் சென்று போன நூஹ், ஆது, ஸமூது போன்ற சமூகத்தாரின் செய்தியும், அவர்களுக்குப் பின் வந்தவர்களுடைய செய்தியும் உங்களுக்கு வரவில்லையா? அவர்களை அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர (வேறு) எவரும் அறியார்; அவர்களிடத்தில் (அல்லாஹ் அனுப்பிய) அவர்களுடைய (இறை) தூதர்கள் தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகளைக் கொண்டு வந்தார்கள்; தங்கள் கைகளை தங்கள் வாய்களின் பக்கம் கொண்டு சென்று, “நீங்கள் எதைக் கொண்டு அனுப்பப்பட்டிருக்கின்றீர்களோ அ(த் தூ)தை நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் நிராகரிக்கின்றோம்; அன்றியும், நீங்கள் எங்களை எதன்பால் அழைக்கிறீர்களோ, அதைப் பற்றியும் நாங்கள் பெரும் சந்தேகத்தில் இருக்கிறோம்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

உங்களுக்கு முன்னர் இருந்தவர்களில் நூஹ், ஆது, ஸமூது ஆகிய சமூகத்தாருடையவும், அவர்களுக்குப் பின்னர் உள்ளவர்களுடையவும் செய்தி(கள்) உங்களுக்கு வரவில்லையா? அவர்(களின் விபரங்)களை அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர (மற்றெவரும்) அறிய மாட்டார், (அல்லாஹ்வினால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட) அவர்களுடைய தூதர்கள் தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகளுடன் அவர்களிடம் வந்தார்கள், நேரான வழிக்கு வாருங்கள் என்று அழைத்த சமயத்தில் அவர்களுடைய கைகளை அவர்களின் வாய்களின் பக்கமே கொண்டு சென்று (தூதர்களின் கூற்றை மறுத்து அவர்களிடம்,) “நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் எதைக்கொண்டு அனுப்பப்பட்டிருக்கின்றீர்களோ, அதை நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் நிராகரிக்கின்றோம், அன்றியும், நீங்கள் எங்களை எதன்பால் அழைக்கின்றீர்களோ, அதைப்பற்றி நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் அவநம்பிக்கை ஏற்படுத்தக்கூடிய சந்தேகத்திலிருக்கிறோம்” என்றும் கூறினார்கள்.

Have there not come to you the stories of those who came before you – the people of Noah, ‘Ād and Thamūd, and those who came after them? No one knows them except Allah. Their messengers came to them with clear proofs, but they shoved their hands into their mouths and said, “We disbelieve in what you are sent with, and we surely doubt what you are calling us to.”

Qalat rusuluhum afee Allahi shakkun fatiri alssamawati waalardi yadAAookum liyaghfira lakum min thunoobikum wayuakhkhirakum ila ajalin musamman qaloo in antum illa basharun mithluna tureedoona an tasuddoona AAamma kana yaAAbudu abaona fatoona bisultanin mubeenin

Their Messengers said: "What! Can there be a doubt about Allâh, the Creator of the heavens and the earth? He calls you (to Monotheism and to be obedient to Allâh) that He may forgive you of your sins and give you respite for a term appointed." They said: "You are no more than human beings like us! You wish to turn us away from what our fathers used to worship. Then bring us a clear authority (i.e. a clear proof of what you say)."

Their messengers said, "Can there be doubt about Allah, Creator of the heavens and earth? He invites you that He may forgive you of your sins, and He delays your death for a specified term." They said, "You are not but men like us who wish to avert us from what our fathers were worshipping. So bring us a clear authority."

அதற்கு, அவர்களிடம் வந்த தூதர்கள் (அவர்களை நோக்கி) "வானங்களையும் பூமியையும் படைத்த அல்லாஹ்வைப் பற்றியா (உங்களுக்குச்) சந்தேகம்? அவன் உங்களுடைய குற்றங்களை மன்னிப்பதற்காக உங்களை அழைக்கிறான். (அவனுக்கு வழிப்பட்டால்) ஒரு நீண்ட காலம் வரையில் உங்களை(ப் பூமியில் சுகமாக வாழ்ந்திருக்க) விட்டு வைப்பான்" என்று கூறினார்கள். அதற்கவர்கள், நீங்கள் நம்மைப் போன்ற (சாதாரண) மனிதர்களே அன்றி வேறில்லை. எங்கள் மூதாதைகள் வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்த தெய்வங்களை விட்டு எங்களைத் தடை செய்யவா நீங்கள் விரும்புகிறீர்கள்? அவ்வாறாயின் (அதற்குரிய) தெளிவான ஆதாரத்தை நம்மிடம் கொண்டு வாருங்கள்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

அதற்கு, (இறைவன் அனுப்பிய அவர்களுடைய தூதர்கள் “வானங்களையும் பூமியையும் படைத்த அல்லாஹ்வைப் பற்றியா (உங்களுக்கு) சந்தேகம்? அவன்; உங்களுடைய பாவங்களை மன்னிப்பதற்காக உங்களை அழைக்கின்றான், (அத்துடன்) ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட தவணைவரை உங்களுக்கு (உலகில்) அவகாசம் அளிக்கின்றான்” என்று கூறினார்கள்; (அப்போது) அவர்கள் “நீங்கள் எங்களைப் போன்ற மனிதர்களேயன்றி (வேறு) இல்லை; எங்களுடைய மூதாதையர்கள் வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தவற்றை விட்டும் எங்களைத் தடுக்கவா நீங்கள் விரும்புகிறீர்கள்? அப்படியானால், எங்களுக்குத் தெளிவான ஆதாரங்களைக் கொண்டு வாருங்கள்” எனக் கூறினார்கள்.

அதற்கு, அவர்களுடைய தூதர்கள் (அவர்களிடம்), “வானங்களையும் பூமியையும் படைத்த அல்லாஹ்வைப் பற்றியா சந்தேகம்? உங்களுடைய குற்றங்களை உங்களுக்கு மன்னிப்பதற்காக உங்களை அவன் அழைக்கிறான். ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட காலம் வரையில் உங்களை (வாழ்ந்திருக்க) பிற்படுத்தியும் வைப்பான்” என்று கூறினார்கள், அ(தற்க)வர்கள், “நீங்கள் நம்மைப் போன்ற மனிதர்களேயன்றி (வேறு) இல்லை, எங்கள் மூதாதையர்கள் வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தவற்றை விட்டு எங்களைத் தடை செய்ய நீங்கள் நாடுகிறீர்கள், அவ்வாறாயின் (அதற்குரிய) தெளிவான சான்றை எங்களுக்குக் கொண்டு வாருங்கள்” என்று கூறினார்கள்

Their messengers said, “Can there be any doubt about Allah, the Creator of the heavens and earth? He calls you so that He may forgive some of your sins, and give you respite for an appointed term.” They said, “You are but humans like us! You want to turn us away from what our forefathers used to worship; then bring us a clear proof.”

Qalat lahum rusuluhum in nahnu illa basharun mithlukum walakinna Allaha yamunnu AAala man yashao min AAibadihi wama kana lana an natiyakum bisultanin illa biithni Allahi waAAala Allahi falyatawakkali almuminoona

Their Messengers said to them: "We are no more than human beings like you, but Allâh bestows His Grace to whom He wills of His slaves. It is not ours to bring you an authority (proof) except by the Permission of Allâh. And in Allâh (Alone) let the believers put their trust.

Their messengers said to them, "We are only men like you, but Allah confers favor upon whom He wills of His servants. It has never been for us to bring you evidence except by permission of Allah. And upon Allah let the believers rely.

அதற்கு அவர்களிடம் வந்த தூதர்கள் அவர்களை நோக்கி, நாங்கள் உங்களைப் போன்ற மனிதர்கள்தாம். எனினும், அல்லாஹ் தன் அடியார்களில் தான் விரும்பியவர்கள் மீது அருள் புரிகிறான். அல்லாஹ்வுடைய அனுமதியின்றி (உங்கள் விருப்பப்படி) யாதொரு ஆதாரமும் நாம் உங்களிடம் கொண்டு வருவதற்கில்லை" (என்று கூறி நம்பிக்கையாளர்களை நோக்கி,) "நம்பிக்கையாளர்கள் அனைவரும் அல்லாஹ்வையே நம்பவும்" என்றும்,

(அதற்கு) அவர்களிடம் வந்த தூதர்கள் அவர்களை நோக்கி, “நாங்கள் உங்களைப் போன்ற மனிதர்களே அல்லாமல் வேறில்லை; எனினும் அல்லாஹ் தன் அடியார்களில் தான் நாடியவர் மீது அருள் புரிகிறான்; அல்லாஹ்வின் அனுமதியின்றி நாங்கள் உங்களுக்கு எந்த ஓர் ஆதாரத்தையும் கொண்டு வருவதற்கில்லை; இன்னும் உறுதியாக நம்பிக்கை கொண்டோர் எல்லாம், அல்லாஹ்வின் மீதே உறுதியாக நம்பிக்கை வைக்கட்டும்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

(அதற்கு) அவர்களுடைய தூதர்கள் அவர்களிடம், “நாங்கள் உங்களைப் போன்ற மனிதர்களே தவிர வேறில்லை; எனினும், அல்லாஹ் தன் அடியார்களில் தான் நாடியவர்கள் மீது பேரருள் புரிகின்றான்; மேலும், அல்லாஹ்வுடைய அனுமதி கொண்டல்லாது எந்தச் சான்றையும் உங்களுக்கு நாங்கள் கொண்டு வருவது எங்களுக்கு (சாத்தியம்) இல்லை, (சகல காரியங்களையும் அல்லாஹ்விடம் ஒப்படைத்து முழுமையாக) விசுவாசிகள் அல்லாஹ்வின் மீதே நம்பிக்கை வைக்கட்டும்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

Their messengers said to them, “We are no more than human beings like you, but it is Allah Who bestows His favor upon whom He wills of His slaves. It is not for us to bring you a proof except with Allah’s permission, and in Allah let the believers put their trust.

Wama lana alla natawakkala AAala Allahi waqad hadana subulana walanasbiranna AAala ma athaytumoona waAAala Allahi falyatawakkali almutawakkiloona

"And why should we not put our trust in Allâh while He indeed has guided us in our ways? And we shall certainly bear with patience all the hurt you may cause us, and in Allâh (Alone) let those who trust, put their trust."

And why should we not rely upon Allah while He has guided us to our [good] ways. And we will surely be patient against whatever harm you should cause us. And upon Allah let those who would rely [indeed] rely."

"நாங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வை நம்பாதிருக்க எங்களுக்கென்ன (தடை நேர்ந்தது)? நிச்சயமாக அவன்தான் எங்களுக்கு நேரான வழியை அறிவித்தான். (நிராகரிப்பவர்களே!) நீங்கள் எங்களுக்கு இழைக்கும் துன்பங்களைச் சகித்துக்கொண்டு உறுதியாக இருப்போம். ஆகவே, நம்புபவர்கள் அனைவரும் அல்லாஹ்வையே நம்பவும்" என்றும் கூறினார்கள்.

“அல்லாஹ்வின் மீதே நாங்கள் உறுதியான நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளாமலிருக்க எங்களுக்கென்ன (நேர்ந்தது)? நிச்சயமாக அவன்தான், (நாங்கள் வெற்றி பெறும்) வழிகளையும் எங்களுக்கு காட்டினான்; நீங்கள் எங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கும் துன்பத்தை நிச்சயமாக பொறுத்துக் கொள்வோம்; உறுதியாக நம்பிக்கை வைப்போர் அல்லாஹ்வின் மீதே உறுதியாக நம்பிக்கை வைக்கட்டும் (என்றும் கூறினார்கள்.)  

“இன்னும், நாங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது (முழுமையாக) நம்பிக்கை வைக்கதிருக்க எங்களுக்கென்ன (நேர்ந்தது)? திட்டமாக அவன் எங்களுடைய வழிகளை எங்களுக்கு காண்பித்துள்ளான், மேலும் (நிராகரிப்போரே!) நீங்கள் எங்களுக்கிழைக்கும் துன்பங்களை நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் பொருத்துக் கொண்டு (உறுதியாக) இருப்போம், இன்னும், (சகல காரியங்களையும் அல்லாஹ்விடம் ஒப்படைத்து முழுமையாக) நம்பிக்கை வைக்கிறவர்கள் (யாவரும்) அல்லாஹ்வின் மீதே (முழுமையாக) நம்பிக்கை வைக்கட்டும் (என்றும் கூறினார்கள்.)

Why should we not put our trust in Allah, and it is He Who has guided us to our ways? We will surely be patient against whatever harm you cause us. And in Allah let the faithful put their trust.”

Waqala allatheena kafaroo lirusulihim lanukhrijannakum min ardina aw lataAAoodunna fee millatina faawha ilayhim rabbuhum lanuhlikanna alththalimeena

And those who disbelieved, said to their Messengers: "Surely, we shall drive you out of our land, or you shall return to our religion." So their Lord revealed to them: "Truly, We shall destroy the Zâlimûn (polytheists, disbelievers and wrong doers).

And those who disbelieved said to their messengers, "We will surely drive you out of our land, or you must return to our religion." So their Lord inspired to them, "We will surely destroy the wrongdoers.

தங்களிடம் வந்த (நம்முடைய) தூதர்களை நிராகரித்தவர்கள் அவர்களை நோக்கி, "நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் நம்முடைய மார்க்கத்தில் திரும்பிவிட வேண்டும். இல்லையேல், நாங்கள் உங்களை எங்களுடைய ஊரிலிருந்து வெளியேற்றி விடுவோம்" என்று கூறினார்கள். அதற்கு அவர்களுடைய இறைவன் (அந்த தூதர்களை நோக்கி) "நிச்சயமாக நாம் இந்த அநியாயக்காரர்களை அழித்து விடுவோம்" என்றும்

நிராகரிப்பவர்கள் அவர்களுடைய தூதர்களை நோக்கி, “நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் உங்களை எங்கள் பூமியிலிருந்து வெளியேற்றி விடுவோம்; அல்லது நீங்கள் எங்கள் மார்க்கத்திற்குத் திரும்பிவிட வேண்டும்” என்று கூறினார்கள், அப்போது: “நிச்சயமாக நாம் இந்த அநியாயக்காரர்களை அழித்து விடுவோம்” என்று அவர்களின் இறைவன் அவர்களுக்கு அறிவித்தான்.

நிராகரித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தோர், தங்களின்(பால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட அத்) தூதர்களிடம் நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் உங்களை எங்கள் பூமியிலிருந்து வெளியேற்றிவிடுவோம், அல்லது நிச்சயமாக எங்கள் மார்க்கத்தில் நீங்கள் திரும்பிவிடவேண்டும் என்று கூறினார்கள், அப்போது அநியாயக்காரர்களை நிச்சயமாக நாம் அழித்துவிடுவோம், என அவர்கள்பால் அவர்களின் இரட்சகன் (வஹீ) அறிவித்தான்.

The disbelievers said to their messengers, “We will surely drive you out of our land unless you return to our religion.” Their Lord then inspired them, “We will certainly destroy the wrongdoers,

Walanuskinannakumu alarda min baAAdihim thalika liman khafa maqamee wakhafa waAAeedi

"And indeed, We shall make you dwell in the land after them. This is for him who fears standing before Me (on the Day of Resurrection or fears My punishment) and also fears My threat."

And We will surely cause you to dwell in the land after them. That is for he who fears My position and fears My threat."

"உங்களை அவர்களுக்குப் பின்னர் (அவர்களுடைய) பூமியில் நிச்சயமாக நாம் குடியேறச் செய்வோம்" என்றும் வஹ்யி மூலம் அறிவித்து "இது எவன் என் முன்னால் (விசாரணைக்காக) நிற்பதைப் பயந்தும், என் அச்சமூட்டலைப் பயந்தும் நடக்கின்றானோ அவனுக்கு ஒரு சன்மானமாகும்" என்றும் அவர்களுடைய இறைவன் அறிவித்தான்.,

“நிச்சயமாக நாம் உங்களை அவர்களுக்குப் பின் இப்பூமியில் குடியேற்றுவோம்; இது என் முன்னால் (விசாரணைக்காக) நிற்பதை அஞ்சியும், என் எச்சரிக்கையை அஞ்சி நடப்பவருக்கும் (சன்மானம்) ஆகும்” (என்றும் வஹீ மூலம் அவர்களுடைய இறைவன் அவர்களுக்கு அறிவித்தான்).

இன்னும், “அவர்களுக்குப் பின்னர் உங்களை (இந்த) பூமியில் நிச்சயமாக நாம் குடியேற்றுவோம்” (என்றும் வஹீ மூலம் அறிவித்து) “இது என் முன்னால் (விசாரணைக்காக) நிற்பதை பயந்தவருக்கும் என் (அச்சமூட்டலைப் பயந்தவர்களுக்குமாகும் (என்றும் இரட்சகன் அறிவித்தான்.)

and We will make you dwell in the land after them. This is for those who fear standing before Me, and who fear My warning.”

Waistaftahoo wakhaba kullu jabbarin AAaneedin

And they (the Messengers) sought victory and help [from their Lord (Allâh)] and every obstinate, arrogant dictator (who refuses to believe in the Oneness of Allâh) was brought to a complete loss and destruction.

And they requested victory from Allah, and disappointed, [therefore], was every obstinate tyrant.

ஆகவே, (நபிமார்கள்) அனைவரும் (அல்லாஹ்வின்) உதவியைக் கோரினார்கள். பிடிவாதக்கார வம்பர்கள் அனைவருமே ஏமாற்றமடைந்(து அழிந்)தனர்.

ஆகவே, அ(த் தூது)வர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் உதவியை நாடினார்கள்; பிடிவாதக்காரவம்பன் ஒவ்வொருவனும் அழிவை அடைந்தான்.

இன்னும், அ(த்தூது)வர்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வின்) உதவியைக் கோரினார்கள், பிடிவாதக்கார வம்பன் ஒவ்வொருவனும் நஷ்டமடைந்துவிட்டான்.

[The messengers] sought victory, and every obstinate tyrant was doomed.

Min waraihi jahannamu wayusqa min main sadeedin

In front of him (every obstinate, arrogant dictator) is Hell, and he will be made to drink boiling, festering water.

Before him is Hell, and he will be given a drink of purulent water.

அவர்களுக்கு பின்புறம் நரகம்தான் இருக்கிறது. (அங்குதான் அவர்கள் செல்ல வேண்டும். நரகவாசிகளின் தேகத்திலிருந்து வடியும்) சீழ்தான் அவர்களுக்கு (நீராக)ப் புகட்டப்படும்.

அவனுக்கு முன்னால் நரகம் தான் இருக்கிறது, இன்னும் அவனுக்கு (துர் நாற்றமுள்ள) சீழ் நீரே குடிக்கக் கொடுக்கப்படும்.

அவனுக்கு முன்பாக நரகம்(தான்) இருக்கிறது, மேலும், சீழ் நீரிலிருந்து அவன் புகட்டப்படுவான்.

Hell awaits him, and he will be made to drink of oozing pus,

YatajarraAAuhu wala yakadu yuseeghuhu wayateehi almawtu min kulli makanin wama huwa bimayyitin wamin waraihi AAathabun ghaleethun

He will sip it unwillingly, and he will find a great difficulty to swallow it down his throat, and death will come to him from every side, yet he will not die and in front of him, will be a great torment.

He will gulp it but will hardly [be able to] swallow it. And death will come to him from everywhere, but he is not to die. And before him is a massive punishment.

அதனை அவர்கள் (மிகக் கஷ்டத்தோடு) சிறுகச் சிறுக விழுங்குவார்கள். எனினும், அது அவர்களுடைய தொண்டைகளில் இறங்காது; (விக்கிக்கொள்ளும்.) ஒவ்வொரு திசையிலிருந்தும் மரணமே அவர்களை நோக்கி வந்துகொண்டிருக்கும்; எனினும், அவர்கள் இறந்துவிட மாட்டார்கள். இதற்குப் பின் கடினமான வேதனையையும் அவர்கள் சந்திக்க நேரிடும்.

அதை அவன் (சிரமத்தோடு) சிறிது சிறிதாக விழுங்குவான்; எனினும் அது அவன் தொண்டையில் எளிதில் இறங்காது; ஒவ்வொரு திசையிலிருந்தும் அவனுக்கு மரணம் வந்து கொண்டிருக்கும்; எனினும் அவன் இறந்து விடுபவனும் அல்லன்; அன்றியும் அவன் முன்னே (மிகக்) கொடிய வேதனையும் உண்டு.

அதனை அவன் (சங்கடத்தோடு) சிறுகச் சிறுக விழுங்குவான், எனினும், அதை அவன் எளிதாக விழுங்க நெருங்க மாட்டான், ஒவ்வொரு திசையிலிருந்தும் மரணம் அவனுக்கு வந்துகொண்டுமிருக்கும், அவன் மரணிப்பவனுமல்லன், மேலும், அதற்கப்பால் கடினமான வேதனையுமுண்டு.

which he will arduously sip but can hardly swallow it, and death will come to him from every direction, yet he will not die. And ahead of him will be a harsh punishment.

Mathalu allatheena kafaroo birabbihim aAAmaluhum karamadin ishtaddat bihi alrreehu fee yawmin AAasifin la yaqdiroona mimma kasaboo AAala shayin thalika huwa alddalalu albaAAeedu

The parable of those who disbelieved in their Lord is that their works are as ashes, on which the wind blows furiously on a stormy day; they shall not be able to get aught of what they have earned. That is the straying, far away (from the Right Path).

The example of those who disbelieve in their Lord is [that] their deeds are like ashes which the wind blows forcefully on a stormy day; they are unable [to keep] from what they earned a [single] thing. That is what is extreme error.

எவர்கள் தங்களைப் படைத்து வளர்த்துப் பரிபாலிப்பவனை நிராகரிக்கின்றார்களோ அவர்களுடைய செயல்களின் உதாரணம்: சாம்பலைப் போல் இருக்கிறது! புயல் காலத்தில் அடித்த கனமான காற்று அதனை அடித்துக்கொண்டு போய்விட்டது. தாங்கள் தேடிக் கொண்டதில் ஒன்றையும் அவர்கள் அடைய மாட்டார்கள். இது வெகு தூரமான வழிகேடாகும்.

எவர்கள் தங்களுடைய இறைவனை நிராகரிக்கிறார்களோ, அவர்களுக்கு உதாரணமாவது: அவர்களுடைய செயல்கள் சாம்பல் போன்றவை: புயல் காற்று கடினமாக வீசும் நாளில் அச்சாம்பலைக் காற்று அடித்துக் கொண்டு போய்விட்டது. (அவ்வாறே) தாங்கள் சம்பாதித்த பொருள்களில் எதன் மீதும் அவர்களுக்கு அதிகாரம் இராது; இதுவே வெகு தூரமான வழிகேடாகும்.

தங்கள் இரட்சகனை நிராகரிக்கின்றார்களே, அத்தகையவர்களுக்கு உதாரணம், அவர்களுடைய செயல்கள் சாம்பலைப் போலிருக்கிறது! கடும் புயல் வீசும் நாளில் காற்று கடினமாக அதனை அடித்துக்கொண்டு போய்விட்டது, இது போன்றே தாங்கள் சம்பாதித்தவற்றிலிருந்து எதன் மீதும் (எப்பயனையும், அடைய) அவர்கள் சக்தி பெற மாட்டார்கள், இதுவே வெகு தூரமான வழிகேடாகும்.

The deeds of those who disbelieve in their Lord are like ashes which are blown away by wind on a stormy day. They will gain nothing from what they did; that is the farthest misguidance.

Alam tara anna Allaha khalaqa alssamawati waalarda bialhaqqi in yasha yuthhibkum wayati bikhalqin jadeedin

Do you not see that Allâh has created the heavens and the earth with truth? If He wills, He can remove you and bring (in your place) a new creation!

Have you not seen that Allah created the heavens and the earth in truth? If He wills, He can do away with you and produce a new creation.

நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்தான் வானங்களையும் பூமியையும் மிக்க மேலான அமைப்பில் படைத்திருக்கிறான் என்பதை (மனிதனே!) நீ கவனிக்கவில்லையா? அவன் விரும்பினால் உங்களைப் போக்கி விட்டு (உங்களைப் போன்ற) புதியதோர் படைப்பைக் கொண்டு வந்துவிடுவான்.

நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் வானங்களையும், பூமியையும் உண்மையைக் கொண்டே படைத்திருக்கின்றான் என்பதை நீர் பார்க்கவிலலையா? அவன் நாடினால் உங்களைப் போக்கிவிட்டு புதியதொரு படைப்பைக் கொண்டு வருவான்.

நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்(தான்) வானங்களையும், பூமியையும் உண்மையைக் கொண்டே படைத்திருக்கிறான் என்பதை (மனிதனே!) நீ பார்க்கவில்லையா? அவன் நாடினால் உங்களைப் போக்கிவிட்டு புதியதொரு படைப்பைக் கொண்டு வந்தும் விடுவான்.

Do you not see that Allah has created the heavens and earth for a true purpose? If He wills, He can take you away and replace you with a new creation.

Wama thalika AAala Allahi biAAazeezin

And for Allâh that is not hard or difficult.

And that is not difficult for Allah.

அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு இது ஒரு சிரமமான காரியம் அல்ல.

இன்னும், இது அல்லாஹ்வுக்குக் கடினமானதுமல்ல.

மேலும், அ(வ்வாறு செய்வதான)து அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது சிரமமானதுமல்ல.

That is not difficult for Allah.

Wabarazoo lillahi jameeAAan faqala aldduAAafao lillatheena istakbaroo inna kunna lakum tabaAAan fahal antum mughnoona AAanna min AAathabi Allahi min shayin qaloo law hadana Allahu lahadaynakum sawaon AAalayna ajaziAAna am sabarna ma lana min maheesin

And they all shall appear before Allâh (on the Day of Resurrection); then the weak will say to those who were arrogant (chiefs): "Verily, we were following you; can you avail us anything against Allâh's torment?" They will say: "Had Allâh guided us, we would have guided you. It makes no difference to us (now) whether we rage, or bear (these torments) with patience; there is no place of refuge for us."

And they will come out [for judgement] before Allah all together, and the weak will say to those who were arrogant, "Indeed, we were your followers, so can you avail us anything against the punishment of Allah?" They will say, "If Allah had guided us, we would have guided you. It is all the same for us whether we show intolerance or are patient: there is for us no place of escape."

(மறுமையில் பாவிகள்) அனைவரும் வெளிப்பட்டு அல்லாஹ்வின் முன் நிற்கும் சமயத்தில் (இவ்வுலகில்) பலவீன மானவர்கள் என்று கருதப்பட்டவர்கள், (பலசாளிகளென) பெருமை யடித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தவர்களை நோக்கி "நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் உங்களையே பின்பற்றி நடந்தோம். ஆகவே, அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வேதனையிலிருந்து ஒரு சிறிதளவேனும் எங்களுக்கு நீங்கள் தடுத்து விட வேண்டாமா?" என்று கூறுவார்கள். அதற்கு அவர்கள் (வேதனையிலிருந்து தப்பித்துக்கொள்ள) அல்லாஹ் எங்களுக்கு யாதொரு வழி வைத்திருந்தால் (அதனை) நாங்கள் உங்களுக்கு அறிவிப்போம். (தப்ப வழி இல்லை. எங்கள் வேதனையைப் பற்றி) நாங்கள் பதைபதைத்துத் துடிதுடிப்பதும் அல்லது (அதனைச்) சகித்துக் கொண்டு பொறுத்திருப்பதும் ஒன்றாகவே இருக்கின்றது. (இவ்வேதனையிலிருந்து) தப்ப எங்களுக்கு யாதொரு வழியும் இல்லையே!" என்று புலம்புவார்கள்.

அன்றியும், அனைவரும் (வெளிப்பட்டு மறுமை நாளில்) அல்லாஹ்வின் சமூகத்தில் நிற்பார்கள்; அப்போது, (இவ்வுலகில்) பலஹீனமாக இருந்தவர்கள் (இவ்வுலகில்) பெருமை அடித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தவர்களை நோக்கி: “நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள்(உலகில்) உங்களைப் பின் தொடர்பவர்களாக இருந்தோம்; இப்போது நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ் (வழங்க இருக்கும்) வேதனையிலிருந்து எதையேனும் எங்களை விட்டும் தடுக்க முடியுமா?” என்று கேட்பார்கள்; (அதற்கு) அவர்கள், “அல்லாஹ் எங்களுக்கு (ஏதாவது) வழியைக் காட்டினால் நாங்கள் அவ்வழியை உங்களுக்குக் காட்டுவோம்; (தப்பிக்க வழியே அன்றி, வேதனையை அஞ்சி) நாம் பதறிக் கலங்கினாலும், அல்லது பொறுமையாக இருந்தாலும் நமக்கு ஒன்று தான்; வேறு புகலிடமே நமக்கு இல்லையே!” என்று (கை சேதப்பட்டுக்) கூறுவார்கள்.  

மேலும், (மறுமையில்) அனைவரும் அல்லாஹ்வின் முன்னிலையில் வெளிப்பட்டு (நின்று) விடுவார்கள், (இவ்வுலகில்) பலவீனமானவர்கள் கர்வங்கொண்டிருந்தவர்களிடம், “நிச்சயமாக (உலகில்) நாங்கள் (நீங்கள் காட்டியவழியில்) உங்களையே பின்தொடர்ந்தவர்களாக இருந்தோம், ஆகவே (வர இருக்கும்) அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வேதனையிலிருந்து ஒரு சிறிதளவையேனும், எங்களைவிட்டும் நீங்கள் தடுக்கக் கூடியவர்களா?” என்று கேட்பார்கள்; (அ(தற்க)வர்கள், “அல்லாஹ் எங்களுக்கு (யாதொரு) வழியைக் காண்பித்தால் (அதனை) நாங்கள் உங்களுக்குக் காண்பித்துத் தருவோம், (எங்கள் வேதனையைப்பற்றி) நாங்கள் பதைபதைத்துத் துடிதுடிப்பதும் அல்லது பொறுத்திருப்பதும் எங்களுக்கு சமமானதாகும்; (இவ்வேதனையிலிருந்து விலகி) தப்பிச் செல்லுமிடம் எங்களுக்கில்லையே” என்று (வருந்திக்) கூறுவார்கள்.

All will appear before Allah, then those who were weak will say to those who were arrogant, “We were your followers; can you avail us anything against the punishment of Allah?” They will say, “If Allah had guided us, we would have guided you. It is all the same for us whether we cry or suffer patiently, we have no escape.”

Waqala alshshaytanu lamma qudiya alamru inna Allaha waAAadakum waAAda alhaqqi wawaAAadtukum faakhlaftukum wama kana liya AAalaykum min sultanin illa an daAAawtukum faistajabtum lee fala taloomoonee waloomoo anfusakum ma ana bimusrikhikum wama antum bimusrikhiyya innee kafartu bima ashraktumooni min qablu inna alththalimeena lahum AAathabun aleemun

And Shaitân (Satan) will say when the matter has been decided: "Verily, Allâh promised you a promise of truth. And I too promised you, but I betrayed you. I had no authority over you except that I called you, and you responded to me. So blame me not, but blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can you help me. I deny your former act in associating me (Satan) as a partner with Allâh (by obeying me in the life of the world). Verily, there is a painful torment for the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong doers)."

And Satan will say when the matter has been concluded, "Indeed, Allah had promised you the promise of truth. And I promised you, but I betrayed you. But I had no authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me. So do not blame me; but blame yourselves. I cannot be called to your aid, nor can you be called to my aid. Indeed, I deny your association of me [with Allah] before. Indeed, for the wrongdoers is a painful punishment."

(இக்குற்றவாளிகளைப் பற்றி) தீர்ப்புக் கூறப்பட்டதும் பின்னர், ஷைத்தான் (இவர்களை நோக்கி) "நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (இவ்வேதனைத் தருவதாக) உங்களுக்கு மெய்யாகவே வாக்களித்திருந்தான். (அவ்வாறே கொடுத்தும் விட்டான்.) நானும் உங்களுக்கு (ப் பொய்யாக) வாக்களித்தேன்; எனினும், நான் உங்களை வஞ்சித்து விட்டேன்; "நான் உங்களை அழைத்தேன்; நீங்கள் என்னைப் பின்பற்றினீர்கள்" என்பதைத் தவிர, உங்களை நான் நிர்ப்பந்திப்பதற்கு எனக்கு யாதொரு அதிகாரமும் இல்லாமலே இருந்தது. ஆதலால், நீங்கள் என்னை நிந்திக்காதீர்கள்; உங்களை நீங்கள் நிந்தித்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள். நான் உங்களுக்கு யாதொரு உதவியும் செய்ய முடியாது. நீங்களும் எனக்கு யாதொரு உதவியும் செய்ய முடியாது. இதற்கு முன்னர் நீங்கள் என்னை (அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) இணை ஆக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்ததையும் நிச்சயமாக நான் நிராகரித்து விட்டேன். நிச்சயமாக (உங்களைப் போன்ற) அநியாயக்காரர்களுக்கு மிக்க துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனை உண்டு என்று கூறுவான்.

(மறுமையில் இவர்கள் பற்றித்)தீர்ப்புக் கூறப்பெற்றதும் ஷைத்தான் (இவர்களை நோக்கி) “நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் உங்களுக்கு உண்மையான வாக்குறுதியையே வாக்களித்திருந்தான்; நானும் உங்களுக்கு வாக்களித்திருந்தேன் - ஆனால் நான் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த வாக்கில் மாறு செய்து விட்டேன். நான் உங்களை அழைத்தேன்; அப்போது நீங்கள் என் அழைப்பினை ஏற்றுக் கொண்டீர்கள் என்பதைத் தவிர எனக்கு உங்கள் மீது எந்த அதிகாரமுமில்லை; ஆகவே நீங்கள் என்னை நிந்திக்காதீர்கள்; உங்களையே நீங்கள் நிந்தித்து கொள்ளுங்கள்; உங்களை நான் காப்பாற்றுபவன் இல்லை; நீங்களும் என்னைக் காப்பாற்றுகிறவர்களில்லை. நீங்கள் முன்னால் என்னை (அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) இணையாக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்ததையும், நிச்சயமாக நான் நிராகரித்து விட்டேன் - நிச்சயமாக அக்கிரமக்காரர்களுக்கு நோவினை மிக்க வேதனை உண்டு” என்று கூறுவான்.

(இக்குற்றவாளிகளைப் பற்றித்)தீர்ப்புக் கூறப்பட்ட பின்னர் ஷைத்தான் (இவர்களிடம்) “நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் உங்களுக்கு உண்மையான வாக்குறுதியாக வாக்களித்திருந்தான், (அவ்வாறே நிறைவேற்றியும் விட்டான்) உங்களுக்கு நானும் (பொய்யாக) வாக்களித்திருந்தேன், ஆனால் நான் உங்களுக்கு கொடுத்த வாக்கில் மாறு செய்தேன், நான் உங்களை அழைத்தேன், நீங்கள் என்ககு பதில் கூறினீர்கள் என்பதைத் தவிர எனக்கு யாதோர் அதிகாரமும் உங்கள் மீது இல்லை, ஆதலால், நீங்கள் என்னை நிந்திக்காதீர்கள், உங்களையே நீங்கள் நிந்தித்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள், நான் உங்களை காப்பாற்றுபவனல்ல, என்னை நீங்கள் காப்பாற்றுபவர்களுமல்லர், (இதற்கு) முன்னர் நீங்கள் என்னை (அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) இணையாக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்ததையும் நிச்சயமாக நான் நிராகரித்து விட்டேன், நிச்சயமாக அநியாயக்காரர்கள் - அவர்களுக்கு மிக்க துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையுண்டு” என்று கூறுவான்.

Satan will say when the matter is finally decided, “Allah gave you a true promise; I also gave you promise, but I betrayed you. I had no authority over you, except that I called you and you responded to me. So do not blame me, but blame yourselves. I cannot rescue you, nor can you rescue me. I deny your previous association of me with Allah. Indeed, for the wrongdoers there will be a painful punishment.”

Waodkhila allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha biithni rabbihim tahiyyatuhum feeha salamun

And those who believed (in the Oneness of Allâh and His Messengers and whatever they brought) and did righteous deeds, will be made to enter Gardens under which rivers flow, – to dwell therein for ever (i.e. in Paradise), with the Permission of their Lord. Their greeting therein will be: Salâm (peace!).

And those who believed and did righteous deeds will be admitted to gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein by permission of their Lord; and their greeting therein will be, "Peace!"

எவர்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு நற்செயல்கள் செய்கின்றார்களோ அவர்கள் சுவனபதிகளில் புகுத்தப்படுவார்கள். அதில் நீரருவிகள் தொடர்ந்து ஓடிக்கொண்டே இருக்கும். தங்கள் இறைவனின் கட்டளைப்படி அதில் அவர்கள் என்றென்றும் தங்கி விடுவார்கள். அவர்களில் (ஒருவர் மற்றொருவரை நோக்கி "உங்களுக்கு தொடர்ந்து) ஈடேற்றம் உண்டாவதாகுக!" என்று முகமன் கூறுவார்கள்.

இன்னும், எவர் ஈமான் கொண்டு, நற்கருமங்கள் செய்கிறார்களோ அவர்கள் சுவனபதிகளில் புகுத்தப்படுவார்கள். அவற்றின் கீழே ஆறுகள் ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கும்; தங்கள் இறைவனுடைய அனுமதியைக் கொண்டு அவர்கள் என்றென்றும் அவற்றில் தங்கியிருப்பார்கள் - அங்கு அவர்களுடைய காணிக்கையாவது “ஸலாமுன் (சாந்தியும் சமாதானமும் உண்டாகுக!”) என்பதாகும்.

இன்னும், விசுவாசங்கொண்டு நற்கருமங்களையும் செய்கின்றார்களே அத்தகையோர் சுவனபதிகளில் பிரவேசிக்கப்படுவார்கள், அவற்றின் கீழ் ஆறுகள் ஓடிக் கொண்டிருக்கும், தங்கள் இரட்சகனின் உத்தரவு கொண்டு அவற்றில் அவர்கள் நிரந்தரமாக(த் தங்கி) இருப்பவர்கள், அவற்றில் அவர்களின் காணிக்கை(யானது ஒருவர் மற்றவருக்கு உங்களுக்கு) சாந்தி உண்டாவதாக” என்பதாகும்.

Those who believe and do righteous deeds will be admitted to gardens under which rivers flow, abiding therein forever, by the permission of their Lord. Their greeting therein will be, “Peace!”

Alam tara kayfa daraba Allahu mathalan kalimatan tayyibatan kashajaratin tayyibatin asluha thabitun wafarAAuha fee alssamai

See you not how Allâh sets forth a parable? A goodly word as a goodly tree, whose root is firmly fixed, and its branches (reach) to the sky (i.e. very high).

Have you not considered how Allah presents an example, [making] a good word like a good tree, whose root is firmly fixed and its branches [high] in the sky?

(நபியே! "தவ்ஹீத் கலிமா" என்னும்) நல்ல வாக்கியத்திற்கு அல்லாஹ் எவ்வாறு (மிக்க மேலான) உதாரணத்தைக் கூறுகிறான் என்பதை நீங்கள் கவனிக்கவில்லையா? (அவ்வாக்கியம்) வானளாவிய கிளைகளையும் (பூமியில்) ஆழப்பாய்ந்த வேரையும் உடைய ஒரு நல்ல மரத்திற்கு ஒப்பாக இருக்கிறது.

(நபியே!) நல்வாக்கியத்திற்கு அல்லாஹ் எவ்வாறு உதாரணம் கூறுகிறான் என்பதை நீர் கவனிக்கவில்லையா? அது மணம் மிக்க ஒரு நன்மரத்தைப் போன்றது; அதனுடைய வேர்கள் (பூமியில் ஆழமாகப்) பதிந்ததாகவும், அதன் கிளைகள் வானளாவியும் இருக்கும்.

நல்ல வாக்கியத்திற்கு அல்லாஹ் எவ்வாறு உதாரணத்தைக் கூறியுள்ளான் என்பதை (நபியே!) நீர் பார்க்கவில்லையா? (அது) நல்ல மரத்தைப் போன்றதாகும், அதன் வேர் (பூமியில்) ஆழப்பதிந்தும் அதன் கிளை வானளாவியும் இருக்கிறது.

Do you not see how Allah compares a good word to a good tree? Its root is firm and its branches reach the sky,

Tutee okulaha kulla heenin biithni rabbiha wayadribu Allahu alamthala lilnnasi laAAallahum yatathakkaroona

Giving its fruit at all times, by the Leave of its Lord, and Allâh sets forth parables for mankind in order that they may remember.

It produces its fruit all the time, by permission of its Lord. And Allah presents examples for the people that perhaps they will be reminded.

அது (பருவ காலத்தில் மட்டுமன்றி இறைவனின் அருளைக் கொண்டு எக்காலத்திலும் கனிகளைக் கொடுத்துக்கொண்டே இருக்கிறது. மனிதர்கள் நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெறும் பொருட்டு, அவர்களுக்கு (இதனை) அல்லாஹ் உதாரணம் ஆக்குகிறான்.

அது தன்னுடைய இறைவனின் அனுமதியைக் கொண்டு ஒவ்வொரு காலத்திலும் தன்னுடைய கனியைக் கொடுத்துக் கொண்டே இருக்கிறது; மக்கள் நல்லுணர்வு பெரும் பொருட்டு அல்லாஹ் (இத்தகைய) உதாரணங்களைக் கூறுகிறான்.

அது தன் இரட்சகனின் அனுமதிகொண்டு ஒவ்வொரு நேரத்திலும் கனிகளைக் கொடுத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது, மேலும் மனிதர்களுக்கு-அவர்கள் நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெறுவதற்காக இவ்வுதாரணங்களை அல்லாஹ் கூறுகிறான்.

yielding its fruit all the times, by the permission of its Lord. Allah makes such comparisons for people, so that they may take heed.

Wamathalu kalimatin khabeethatin kashajaratin khabeethatin ijtuththat min fawqi alardi ma laha min qararin

And the parable of an evil word is that of an evil tree uprooted from the surface of the earth, having no stability.

And the example of a bad word is like a bad tree, uprooted from the surface of the earth, not having any stability.

(நிராகரிப்பவர்களின் குஃப்ரு, ஷிர்க்கான) கெட்ட வாக்கியத்திற்கு உதாரணம்: பூமியில் இருந்த வேர்கள் அறுபட்டு (உறுதியின்றி) நிற்கும் (பட்டுப்போன ஒரு) கெட்ட மரத்திற்கு ஒப்பாகும்; அது நிலைத்திருக்காது.

(இணை வைப்போரின்) கெட்ட வாக்கியத்திற்கு உதாரணம் கெட்ட மரமாகும்; பூமியின் மேல் பாகத்திலிருந்தும் (அதன் வேர்) பிடுங்கப்பட்டிருக்கும்; அதற்கு நிலைத்து நிற்கும் தன்மையுமில்லை.

இன்னும், கெட்ட வாக்கியத்திற்கு உதாரணமாகிறது: பூமியின் மேற்புறத்திலிருந்து வேறோடு பிடுங்கப்பட்ட கெட்ட மரத்தைப் போன்றாகும், அதற்கு (நிலைத்து நிற்கும்) உறுதியான நிலை இல்லை

But an evil word is like an evil tree, uprooted from the surface of the earth, having no stability.

Yuthabbitu Allahu allatheena amanoo bialqawli alththabiti fee alhayati alddunya wafee alakhirati wayudillu Allahu alththalimeena wayafAAalu Allahu ma yashao

Allâh will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm in this world (i.e. they will keep on worshipping Allâh Alone and none else), and in the Hereafter. And Allâh will cause to go astray those who are Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong doers), and Allâh does what He wills.

Allah keeps firm those who believe, with the firm word, in worldly life and in the Hereafter. And Allah sends astray the wrongdoers. And Allah does what He wills.

மெய்யாகவே எவர்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொள்கிறார்களோ அவர்களை மறுமையிலும், இம்மையிலும் ("கலிமா தையிப்" என்னும்) உறுதிமிக்க இந்த வார்த்தையைக் கொண்டு அல்லாஹ் அவர்களை உறுதிப்படுத்துகிறான். அநியாயக்காரர்களை (அவர்களுடைய பாவத்தின் காரணமாக) தவறான வழியில் அல்லாஹ் விட்டு விடுகிறான்; அல்லாஹ் நாடியதைச் செய்கிறான். (அதனைத் தடை செய்ய எவராலும் முடியாது.)

எவர்கள் ஈமான் கொள்கிறார்களோ அவர்களை இவ்வுலக வாழ்விலும் மறுமையிலும் உறுதியான சொல்லைக் கொண்டு அல்லாஹ் உறுதி படுத்துகின்றான் - இன்னும், அநியாயக் காரர்களை அல்லாஹ் வழி தவறச் செய்து விடுகிறான்; மேலும் அல்லாஹ், தான் எதை நாடுகின்றானோ அதைச் செய்கின்றான்.  

விசுவாசங்கொண்டுள்ளார்களே அத்தகையோரை, இம்மை வாழ்விலும் மறுமையிலும் (ஷஹாதத்துக் கலிமாவை கூறுவதன் மூலம்) உறுதியான சொல்லைக் கொண்டு அல்லாஹ் நிலைப்படுத்துகிறான், மேலும், அல்லாஹ் அநியாயக்காரர்களை (அவர்களுடைய பாவத்தின் காரணமாக)த் தவறான வழியில் விட்டும் விடுகிறான், மேலும் அல்லாஹ் தான் நாடியதை, செய்கிறான்.

Allah keeps those who believe steadfast with the firm Word [of faith] in the life of this world and in the Hereafter. But Allah causes to stray the wrongdoers; Allah does whatever He wills.

Alam tara ila allatheena baddaloo niAAmata Allahi kufran waahalloo qawmahum dara albawari

Have you not seen those who have changed the Blessings of Allâh into disbelief (by denying Prophet Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] and his Message of Islâm), and caused their people to dwell in the house of destruction?

Have you not considered those who exchanged the favor of Allah for disbelief and settled their people [in] the home of ruin?

(நபியே!) அல்லாஹ்வின் அருளை நிராகரிப்பைக் கொண்டு மாற்றி, தங்கள் மக்களையும் அழிவுக்கிடங்கில் இறக்கி விட்டவர்களை நீங்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா?

அல்லாஹ் (அருள் கொடைகளை) நிஃமத்களை(த் தம்) குஃப்ரைக் கொண்டு மாற்றித் தங்கள் கூட்டத்தாரையும் அழிவு வீட்டில் நுழையும்படி செய்தவர்களை (நபியே!) நீர் பார்க்கவில்லையா?

அல்லாஹ்வின் அருட்கொடையை நிராகரிப்பாக மாற்றி, தங்கள் சமூகத்தினரை அழிவு வீட்டில் இறக்கிவிட்டவர்களையும் (நபியே!) நீர் பார்க்கவில்லையா?

Did you not see those who exchanged Allah’s blessings with disbelief, and led their people to the abode of ruin?

Jahannama yaslawnaha wabisa alqararu

Hell, in which they will burn, – and what an evil place to settle in!

[It is] Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the settlement.

அவர்கள் நரகத்தைத்தான் வந்தடைவார்கள்; அது தங்குமிடங்களில் மிகக் கெட்டது.

(அந்த அழிவு வீடான) நரகத்தை அவர்கள் வந்தடைவார்கள் - இன்னும், அது தங்கும் இடங்களில் மிகவும் கெட்டதாகும்.

(அழிவு வீடானது) நரகமாகும், அதில் அவர்கள் பிரவேசிப்பார்கள், இன்னும், தங்குமிடத்தில் (அது) மிகக்கெட்டது.

In Hell they will burn; what an evil place to settle in!

WajaAAaloo lillahi andadan liyudilloo AAan sabeelihi qul tamattaAAoo fainna maseerakum ila alnnari

And they set up rivals to Allâh, to mislead (men) from His path! Say: "Enjoy (your brief life)! But certainly, your destination is the (Hell) Fire!"

And they have attributed to Allah equals to mislead [people] from His way. Say, "Enjoy yourselves, for indeed, your destination is the Fire."

அவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய பாதையிலிருந்து (மக்களைத்) திருப்பி விடும் பொருட்டு (பல பொய்த் தெய்வங்களை) அவனுக்கு இணையாக்குகின்றனர். (நபியே! அவர்களை நோக்கி) நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: "(இவ்வுலகில் சிறிது காலம்) நீங்கள் சுகமனுபவித்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள். (முடிவில்) நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் சேருமிடம் நரகம்தான்.

மேலும், அவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையிலிருந்து (மக்களை) வழிகெடுப்பதற்காக (பொய்த் தெய்வங்களை) அவனுக்கு இணையாக்குகின்றனர். (நபியே! அவர்களை நோக்கி, “இவ்வுலகில் சிறிது காலம்) சுகம் அனுபவித்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள்; நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் (இறுதியாகச்) சேருமிடம் நரகம்தான்” என்று நீர் கூறிவிடும்.

இன்னும், அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு-அவனுடைய பாதையை விட்டும் அவர்கள் (மக்களை) வழி கெடுப்பதற்காக-சமமானவர்களை அவர்கள் ஆக்கினர், (நபியே!) அவர்களிடம், “நீங்கள் சுகமனுபவித்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள், நிச்சயமாக, நீங்கள் திரும்பிச் சேருமிடம் நரகம்தான்” என்று கூறுவீராக!

They set up rivals to Allah to mislead people from His way. Say, “Enjoy yourselves for a while! Your destination will be the Fire.”

Qul liAAibadiya allatheena amanoo yuqeemoo alssalata wayunfiqoo mimma razaqnahum sirran waAAalaniyatan min qabli an yatiya yawmun la bayAAun feehi wala khilalun

Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) to 'Ibâdî (My slaves) who have believed, that they should perform As-Salât (the prayers), and spend in charity out of the sustenance We have given them, secretly and openly, before the coming of a Day on which there will be neither mutual bargaining nor befriending.

[O Muhammad], tell My servants who have believed to establish prayer and spend from what We have provided them, secretly and publicly, before a Day comes in which there will be no exchange, nor any friendships.

(நபியே!) நம்பிக்கை கொண்ட என் அடியார்களுக்கு நீங்கள் கூறுங்கள்: அவர்கள் தொழுகையைக் கடைபிடித்தொழுகவும். நாம் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தவற்றிலிருந்து இரகசியமாகவும், வெளிப்படையாகவும் தானம் செய்யவும். கொடுக்கல் வாங்கலும், நட்பும் இல்லாத நாள் வருவதற்கு முன்னதாகவே (இவ்வாறு செய்யவும்.)

ஈமான் கொண்ட என் அடியார்களிடம் (நபியே!) “கொடுக்கல் வாங்கலும், நட்பும் இல்லாத (இறுதி) நாள் வருவதற்கு முன்னதாகவே, அவர்கள் தொழுகையை முறையாகக் கடைப்பிடித்து ஒழுகட்டும், நாம் அவர்களுக்கு அளித்தவற்றிலிருந்து, இரகசியமாகவும் பகிரங்கமாகவும் (தான தருமங்களில்) செலவு செய்யட்டும்” என்று நீர் கூறுவீராக.

விசுவாசங்கொண்ட என் அடியார்களுக்கு-“அவர்கள் தொழுகையை நிறைவேற்றவும், கொடுக்கல் வாங்கலோ, நட்போ இராத நாள் வருவதற்கு முன்னதாகவே, நாம் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தவற்றிலிருந்து இரகசியமாகவும், பகிரங்கமாகவும் (தர்மச்) செலவு செய்யவும்”-என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக!

Tell My slaves who believe to establish prayer and spend from what We have provided for them, secretly and openly, before there comes a Day when there will be no bargaining or friendship.

Allahu allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda waanzala mina alssamai maan faakhraja bihi mina alththamarati rizqan lakum wasakhkhara lakumu alfulka litajriya fee albahri biamrihi wasakhkhara lakumu alanhara

Allâh is He Who has created the heavens and the earth and sends down water (rain) from the sky, and thereby brought forth fruits as provision for you; and He has made the ships to be of service to you, that they may sail through the sea by His Command; and He has made rivers (also) to be of service to you.

It is Allah who created the heavens and the earth and sent down rain from the sky and produced thereby some fruits as provision for you and subjected for you the ships to sail through the sea by His command and subjected for you the rivers.

அல்லாஹ்தான் வானங்களையும் பூமியையும் படைத்தவன். அவனே வானத்திலிருந்து மழை பொழியச் செய்து, அதைக் கொண்டு உங்களுக்கு உணவாக(ப் பற்பல) கனி வர்க்கங்களையும் வெளிப்படுத்துகின்றான். (நீங்கள் பயணம் செய்யும் பொருட்டுத்) தன் கட்டளையைக் கொண்டு கப்பலை உங்கள் இஷ்டப்படி கடலில் செல்ல வைக்கிறான். ஆறுகளையும், (கால்வாய்களையும்) உங்கள் விருப்பப்படி பாய வசதியளித்தான்.

அல்லாஹ் எத்தகையவன் என்றால் அவன் தான் வானங்களையும், பூமியையும் படைத்து வானத்திலிருந்து மழையையும் பொழியச் செய்து அதைக் கொண்டு கனிவர்க்கங்களையும் உங்களுக்கு - ஆகாரமாக வெளிப்படுத்தித் தன் கட்டளையினால் கடலில் செல்லுமாறு கப்பலை உங்களுக்கு வசப்படுத்திக் கொடுத்தும், ஆறுகளையும் உங்களுக்கு வசப்படுத்தித்தந்தான்.

அல்லாஹ் எத்தகையவனென்றால், அவன் தான் வானங்களையும் பூமியையும் படைத்தான், அவனே வானத்திலிருந்து மழை பொழியச் செய்து பின்னர், அதைக் கொண்டு உங்களுக்கு உணவாக(ப் பற்பல) கனிவர்க்கங்களையும் வெளிப்படுத்தினான், மேலும், (நீங்கள் பிரயாணம் செய்வதற்காகக்) கப்பலை தன் கட்டளைப்படி கடலில் அது செல்வதற்காக உங்களுக்கு வசப்படுத்திக் கொடுத்தான், மேலும், ஆறுகளையும் உங்களுக்கு வசப்படுத்திக் கொடுத்தான்.

It is Allah Who has created the heavens and earth and sent down rain from the sky, producing therewith fruits as provision for you. He has made the ships for your service to sail in the sea by His command, and has made for you the rivers.

Wasakhkhara lakumu alshshamsa waalqamara daibayni wasakhkhara lakumu allayla waalnnahara

And He has made the sun and the moon, both constantly pursuing their courses, to be of service to you; and He has made the night and the day to be of service to you.

And He subjected for you the sun and the moon, continuous [in orbit], and subjected for you the night and the day.

(தவறாது) ஒழுங்காக நடைபெற்று வருமாறு சூரியனையும் சந்திரனையும் உங்களுக்குப் பயனளிக்கக் கூடிய விதத்தில் (படைத்து) அமைத்தான். (மாறி மாறி) வரக்கூடிய இரவு பகலையும் உங்களுக்காக (அமைத்து அதில்) பயனடைய வகை செய்தான்.

(தவறாமல்), தம் வழிகளில் ஒழுங்காகச் செல்லுமாறு சூரியனையும் சந்திரனையும் அவனே உங்களுக்கு வசப்படுத்தித் தந்தான். மேலும், அவனே இரவையும் பகலையும் உங்களுக்கு வசப்படுத்தித் தந்தான்.

சூரியனையும், சந்திரனையும் (முறைப்படி தத்தம் வழிகளில்) அவ்விரண்டும் சென்று கொண்டேயிருக்க, அவன் உங்களுக்கு வசப்படுத்தித் தந்தான், மேலும், (மாறி மாறி வரும்) இரவையும், பகலையும் உங்களுக்கு அவன் வசப்படுத்தித் தந்தான்.

He has made the sun and the moon for your service, both constant in their courses, and has made for you the night and the day.

Waatakum min kulli ma saaltumoohu wain taAAuddoo niAAmata Allahi la tuhsooha inna alinsana lathaloomun kaffarun

And He gave you of all that you asked from Him, and if you count the Blessings of Allâh, never will you be able to count them. Verily, man is indeed an extreme wrong doer, a disbeliever (an extreme ingrate who denies Allâh's Blessings by disbelief, and by worshipping others besides Allâh, and by disobeying Allâh and His Prophet Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]).

And He gave you from all you asked of Him. And if you should count the favor of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, mankind is [generally] most unjust and ungrateful.

(இவையன்றி) நீங்கள் கேட்டவைகளை எல்லாம் அவன் உங்களுக்கு அளித்தான். ஆகவே, அல்லாஹ்வுடைய அருட் கொடைகளை நீங்கள் கணக்கிடும் சமயத்தில் அதனை உங்களால் எண்ண முடியாது! (இவ்வாறு எல்லாமிருந்தும்) நிச்சயமாக மனிதன் வரம்பு மீறுகிறவனாகவும், மிக நன்றிகெட்டவனாகவும் இருக்கிறான்.

(இவையன்றி) நீங்கள் அவனிடம் கேட்ட யாவற்றிலிருந்தும் அவன் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தான்; அல்லாஹ்வின் அருட்கொடைகளை நீங்கள் கணிப்பீர்களாயின் அவற்றை நீங்கள் எண்ணி முடியாது! நிச்சயமாக மனிதன் மிக்க அநியாயக்காரனாகவும், மிக்க நன்றி கெட்டவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

(இவையன்றி) மேலும், எவற்றை நீங்கள் அவனிடம் கேட்டீர்களோ அவற்றில் ஒவ்வொன்றிலிருந்தும் அவன் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தான், ஆகவே அல்லாஹ்வுடைய அருட்கொடைகளை நீங்கள் எண்ணுவீர்களாயின் அவற்றை நீங்கள் கணக்கிட்டு (எண்ணி வரையறுத்து) விட மாட்டீர்கள், நிச்சயமாக மனிதன் மிக்க அநியாயக்காரன், மிக்க நன்றி கெட்டவன்.

And He gave you of all that you have asked for. If you try to count the blessings of Allah, you cannot count them. Indeed, mankind is truly unjust and ungrateful.

Waith qala ibraheemu rabbi ijAAal hatha albalada aminan waojnubnee wabaniyya an naAAbuda alasnama

And (remember) when Ibrâhîm (Abraham) said: "O my Lord! Make this city (Makkah) one of peace and security, and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols.

And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this city [Makkah] secure and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols.

இப்றாஹீம் (தன் இறைவனை நோக்கிக்) கூறியதை (நபியே!) நீங்கள் (அவர்களுக்கு) ஞாபகமூட்டுங்கள். (அவர்கள் இறைவனை நோக்கி) "என் இறைவனே! (மக்காவாகிய) இவ்வூரை அபயமளிக்கும் பட்டணமாக நீ ஆக்கி வைப்பாயாக! என்னையும் என் சந்ததிகளையும் சிலைகளை வணங்குவதில் இருந்து தூரமாக்கி வைப்பாயாக!

நினைவு கூறுங்கள்! “என் இறைவனே! இந்த ஊரை (மக்காவை சமாதானமுள்ளதாய்) அச்சந்தீர்ந்ததாய் ஆக்குவாயாக! என்னையும், என் மக்களையும் சிலைகளை நாங்கள் வணங்குவதிலிருந்து காப்பாற்றுவாயாக!” என்று இப்ராஹீம் கூறியதை (நபியே! நீர் அவர்களுக்கு நினைவு கூறும்).

இப்றாஹீம், “என்னுடைய இரட்சகனே! (மக்காவாகிய) இவ்வூரை, அபயமளிக்கக்கூடியதாய் நீ ஆக்கி வைப்பாயாக! மேலும், என்னையும், என் மக்களையும் சிலைகளை வணங்குவதிலிருந்து தூரப்படுத்துவாயாக!” என்று கூறியதை (நபியே! நீர் நினைவு கூர்வீராக!)

And [remember] when Abraham said, “My Lord, make this city [of Makkah] secure, and save me and my children from worshiping idols.

Rabbi innahunna adlalna katheeran mina alnnasi faman tabiAAanee fainnahu minnee waman AAasanee fainnaka ghafoorun raheemun

"O my Lord! They have indeed led astray many among mankind. But whoso follows me, he verily, is of me. And whoso disobeys me, still You are indeed Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

My Lord, indeed they have led astray many among the people. So whoever follows me - then he is of me; and whoever disobeys me - indeed, You are [yet] Forgiving and Merciful.

என் இறைவனே! நிச்சயமாக இச்சிலைகள் மனிதர்களில் பலரை வழி கெடுத்து விட்டன. (ஆகவே, எவன் சிலைகளை வணங்காது) என்னைப் பின்பற்றுகிறானோ அவன்தான் நிச்சயமாக என்னில் (என் சந்ததியில்) உள்ளவன்; எவன் எனக்கு மாறு செய்கிறானோ (அவன் என் சந்ததி இல்லை. எனினும், என் இறைவனே!) நிச்சயமாக நீ மிக்க மன்னிப்பவனும், கிருபை செய்பவனுமாக இருக்கிறாய் (என்றும்)

(“என்) இறைவனே! நிச்சயமாக இவை (சிலைகள்) மக்களில் அநேகரை வழி கெடுத்து விட்டன; எனவே, எவர் என்னைப் பின்பற்றுகிறாரோ அவர் என்னைச் சேர்ந்தவராவார். எவர் எனக்கு மாறு செய்கிறாரோ (அவர் என்னைச் சார்ந்தவர் இல்லை; என்றாலும்) நிச்சயமாக நீ மன்னிப்பவனாகவும், மிக்க கருணையுடையவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றாய்.”

“என் இரட்சகனே! நிச்சயமாக (சிலைகளாகிய) அவைகள் மனிதர்களில் அநேகரை வழிகெடுத்துவிட்டன, ஆகவே, (அவைகளை வணங்காது) எவர் என்னைப் பின்பற்றுகிறாரோ, அவர்தான் நிச்சயமாக என்னில் உள்ளவராவார், மேலும், எவர் எனக்கு மாறு செய்கிறாரோ, அப்போது நிச்சயமாக நீ மிக்க மன்னிப்பவன், மிகக் கிருபைசெய்பவன்”

My Lord, they have led many people astray. So whoever follows me, he belongs to me; and whoever disobeys me, then You are All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Rabbana innee askantu min thurriyyatee biwadin ghayri thee zarAAin AAinda baytika almuharrami rabbana liyuqeemoo alssalata faijAAal afidatan mina alnnasi tahwee ilayhim waorzuqhum mina alththamarati laAAallahum yashkuroona

"O our Lord! I have made some of my offspring to dwell in an uncultivable valley by Your Sacred House (the Ka'bah at Makkah) in order, O our Lord, that they may perform As-Salât (the prayers). So fill some hearts among men with love towards them, and (O Allâh) provide them with fruits so that they may give thanks.

Our Lord, I have settled some of my descendants in an uncultivated valley near Your sacred House, our Lord, that they may establish prayer. So make hearts among the people incline toward them and provide for them from the fruits that they might be grateful.

எங்கள் இறைவனே! நிச்சயமாக நான் என் சந்ததிகளை, மிக்க கண்ணியம் வாய்ந்த உன் வீட்டின் சமீபமாக வசித்திருக்கச் செய்து விட்டேன். அது விவசாயமற்றதொரு பள்ளத்தாக்கு! எங்கள் இறைவனே! அவர்கள் (உன்னைத்) தொழுது கொண்டிருப்பதற்காக (அங்கு வசிக்கச் செய்தேன்.) மனிதர்களில் ஒரு தொகையினரின் உள்ளங்கள் அவர்களை நோக்கும்படி நீ செய்வாயாக! (பற்பல) கனி வர்க்கங்களையும் நீ அவர்களுக்கு உணவாக அளித்து வருவாயாக! (அதற்கு) அவர்கள் உனக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துவார்கள்.

“எங்கள் இறைவனே! நிச்சயமாக நான் என் சந்ததியாரிலிருந்தும், சங்கையான உன் வீட்டின் (கஃபாவின்) அருகே, விவசாயமில்லாத (இப்)பள்ளத்தாக்கில், எங்கள் இறைவனே! - தொழுகையை அவர்கள் நிலை நிறுத்தாட்டுவதற்காகக் குடியேற்றியிருகின்றேன்; எனவே மக்களில் ஒரு தொகையினரின் இதயங்களை அவர்கள்பால் சாய்ந்திடச் செய்வாயாக! இன்னும் அவர்கள் நன்றி செலுத்தும் பொருட்டு கனிவர்க்கங்களிலிருந்து அவர்களுக்கு நீ ஆகாரமும் அளிப்பாயாக!”

“எங்களுடைய இரட்சகனே! நிச்சயமாக நான் என்னுடைய சந்ததியை மிக்க கண்ணியம் வாய்ந்த உன் வீட்டின் சமீபமாக, விவசாயமில்லாத பள்ளத்தாக்கில் குடியேற்றிவிட்டேன், எங்களுடைய இரட்சகனே! அவர்கள் (அங்கு) தொழுகையை நிறைவேற்றுவதற்காக, ஆகவே மனிதர்களி(ல் ஒரு சிலரி)ன் இதயங்களை அவர்கள்பால் சாய்ந்தவையாக நீ ஆக்குவாயாக! அவர்கள் உனக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துவதற்காக (பற்பல) கனி வர்க்கங்களிலிருந்து நீ அவர்களுக்கு உணவும் அளிப்பாயாக!”

Our Lord, I have settled some of my offspring in a barren valley near Your Sacred House, our Lord, so that they may establish prayer. So make the people’s hearts incline towards them, and provide for them fruits, so that they may be grateful.

Rabbana innaka taAAlamu ma nukhfee wama nuAAlinu wama yakhfa AAala Allahi min shayin fee alardi wala fee alssamai

"O our Lord! Certainly, You know what we conceal and what we reveal. Nothing on the earth or in the heaven is hidden from Allâh.

Our Lord, indeed You know what we conceal and what we declare, and nothing is hidden from Allah on the earth or in the heaven.

எங்கள் இறைவனே! நாங்கள் (உள்ளங்களில்) மறைத்துக்கொள்வதையும், நாங்கள் வெளிப்படுத்துவதையும் நிச்சயமாக நீ நன்கறிவாய். வானத்திலோ பூமியிலோ உள்ளவற்றில் யாதொன்றும் அல்லாஹ்வாகிய உனக்கு மறைந்ததல்ல.

“எங்கள் இறைவனே! நாங்கள் மறைத்து வைத்திருப்பதையும், நாங்கள் பகிரங்கப்படுத்துவதையும்; நிச்சயமாக நீ அறிகிறாய்! இன்னும் பூமியிலோ, வானத்திலோ உள்ள எந்த பொருளும் மறைந்ததாக இல்லை.

“எங்களுடைய இரட்சகனே! நாங்கள் (இதயங்களில்) மறைத்துக் கொள்வதையும், நாங்கள் பகிரங்கப்படுத்துவதையும் நிச்சயமாக நீ நன்கறிவாய்! பூமியிலோ, வானத்திலோ (உள்ளவற்றில்) எப்பொருளும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு மறைந்ததல்ல.”

Our Lord, You know what we conceal and what we reveal. Nothing is hidden from Allah on earth or in the heaven.

Alhamdu lillahi allathee wahaba lee AAala alkibari ismaAAeela waishaqa inna rabbee lasameeAAu aldduAAai

"All praise and thanks are Allâh's, Who has given me in old age Ismâ'îl (Ishmael) and Ishâq (Isaac). Verily, my Lord is indeed the All-Hearer of invocations.

Praise to Allah, who has granted to me in old age Ishmael and Isaac. Indeed, my Lord is the Hearer of supplication.

எல்லாப் புகழும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்குரியது; அவன்தான் இவ்வயோதிக(கால)த்தில் இஸ்மாயீலையும் இஸ்ஹாக்கையும் எனக்கு(ச் சந்ததிகளாக) அளித்தான். நிச்சயமாக என் இறைவன் பிரார்த்தனைகளை (கருணையுடன்) செவியுறுபவனாக இருக்கிறான்.

எல்லாப் புகழும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே உரியது; அவனே (என்னுடைய) முதுமையில் இஸ்மாயீலையும், இஸ்ஹாக்கையும் (புதல்வர்களாக) எனக்கு அளித்தான்; நிச்சயமாக என் இறைவன் பிரார்த்தனையைக் கேட்பவன்.

“(என்னுடைய) வயோதிக) காலத்தில் இஸ்மாயீலையும், இஸ்ஹாக்கையும் எனக்கு அன்பளிப்பாக வழங்கினானே அத்தகைய அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே எல்லாப்புகழும், நிச்சயமாக என் இரட்சகன் பிரார்த்தனையைச் செவியேற்கிறவன்”

All praise be to Allah Who has granted me in old age Ishmael and Isaac. Indeed, my Lord is the All-Hearing of prayers.

Rabbi ijAAalnee muqeema alssalati wamin thurriyyatee rabbana wtaqabbal duAAai

"O my Lord! Make me one who performs As-Salât (the prayers), and (also) from my offspring, our Lord! And accept my invocation.

My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication.

என் இறைவனே! என்னையும், என் சந்ததிகளையும் (உன்னைத்) தொழுது வருபவர்களாக ஆக்கிவை. எங்கள் இறைவனே! என்னுடைய பிரார்த்தனையை அங்கீகரித்துக் கொள்வாயாக!

(“என்) இறைவனே! தொழுகையை நிலைநிறுத்துவோராக என்னையும், என்னுடைய சந்ததியிலுள்ளோரையும் ஆக்குவாயாக! எங்கள் இறைவனே! என்னுடைய பிரார்த்தனையையும் ஏற்றுக் கொள்வாயாக!”

மேலும், “என்னுடைய இரட்சகனே! என்னையும் என் சந்ததியிலுள்ளோரையும் தொழுகையை நிறைவேற்றுபவர்களாக ஆக்கி வைப்பாயாக! எங்களுடைய இரட்சகனே! என்னுடைய பிரார்த்தனையை அங்கீகரித்தும் கொள்வாயாக!

My Lord, make me steadfast in prayer and those of my offspring. Our Lord, accept my supplication.

Rabbana ighfir lee waliwalidayya walilmumineena yawma yaqoomu alhisabu

"Our Lord! Forgive me and my parents, and (all) the believers on the Day when the reckoning will be established."

Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established."

எங்கள் இறைவனே! எனக்கும், என் தாய் தந்தைக்கும், மற்ற நம்பிக்கையாளர்களுக்கும் கேள்வி கணக்குக் கேட்கும் (மறுமை) நாளில் மன்னிப்பளிப்பாயாக!" (என்று பிரார்த்தித்தார்.)

“எங்கள் இறைவா! என்னையும், என் பெற்றோர்களையும், முஃமின்களையும் கேள்வி கணக்குக் கேட்கும் (மறுமை) நாளில் மன்னிப்பாயாக” (என்று பிரார்த்தித்தார்).  

“எங்களுடைய இரட்சகனே! எனக்கும், என் பெற்றோருக்கும், (மற்ற) விசுவாசிகளுக்கும் கேள்வி கணக்கு நிலைபெறும் (மறுமை) நாளில் மன்னித்தருள்வாயாக” (என்றும் பிரார்த்தித்தார்).

Our Lord, forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the Day when the reckoning will take place.”

Wala tahsabanna Allaha ghafilan AAamma yaAAmalu alththalimoona innama yuakhkhiruhum liyawmin tashkhasu feehi alabsaru

Consider not that Allâh is unaware of that which the Zâlimûn (polytheists, wrong doers) do, but He gives them respite up to a Day when the eyes will stare in horror.

And never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only delays them for a Day when eyes will stare [in horror].

(நபியே!) இவ்வக்கிரமக்காரர்களின் செயலைப் பற்றி அல்லாஹ் பராமுகமாய் இருக்கிறான் என நீங்கள் எண்ண வேண்டாம். அவர்களை (வேதனையைக் கொண்டு உடனுக்குடன் பிடிக்காது) தாமதப்படுத்தி வருவதெல்லாம், திறந்த கண் திறந்தவாறே இருந்து விடக்கூடிய (கொடியதொரு மறுமை) நாள் வரும் வரையில்தான்!

மேலும் அக்கிரமக்காரர்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருப்பதைப் பற்றி அல்லாஹ் பராமுகமாக இருக்கிறான் என்று (நபியே!) நீர் நிச்சயமாக எண்ண வேண்டாம்; அவர்களுக்கு (தண்டனையை) தாமதப் படுத்துவதெல்லாம், கண்கள் விரைத்துப் பார்த்துக் கொண்டேயிருக்கும் (அந்த மறுமை) நாளுக்காகத்தான்.

மேலும், (நபியே!) அநியாயக்காரர்கள் செய்கின்றவைகளைப் பற்றி அல்லாஹ்வை பராமுகமானவனாக நீர் நிச்சயமாக எண்ண வேண்டாம், அவர்களை அவன் தாமதப்படுத்துவதெல்லாம் பார்வைகள் எதில் நிலை குத்தியவாறு இருக்குமோ அந்த (கொடியதொரு மறுமை) நாளுக்காகத்தான்.,

Never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do; He only delays them for a Day when eyes will stare [in horror] –

MuhtiAAeena muqniAAee ruoosihim la yartaddu ilayhim tarfuhum waafidatuhum hawaon

(They will be) hastening forward with necks outstretched, their heads raised up (towards the sky), their gaze returning not towards them and their hearts empty (from thinking because of extreme fear).

Racing ahead, their heads raised up, their glance does not come back to them, and their hearts are void.

(அந்நாளில்) இவர்களுடைய நிமிர்ந்த தலை குனிய முடியாது (தட்டுக்கெட்டுப் பல கோணல்களிலும்) விரைந்தோடுவார்கள். (திடுக்கிடும் சம்பவங்களைக் கண்ட) இவர்களுடைய பார்வை மாறாது, (அதனையே நோக்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கும்.) இவர்களுடைய உள்ளங்கள் (பயத்தால்) செயலற்று விடும்.

(அந்நாளில்) தங்களுடைய சிரங்களை (எப்பக்கமும் பாராமல்) நிமிர்த்தியவர்களாகவும், விரைந்தோடுபவர்களாகவும் அவர்கள் இருப்பார்கள்; (நிலை குத்திய) அவர்களின் பார்வை அவர்கள் பக்கம் திரும்பாது. இன்னும், அவர்களுடைய இருதயங்கள் (திடுக்கங் கொண்டு) சூனியமாக இருக்கும்.

(அந்நாளில்) அவர்கள் விரைந்து ஓடக்கூடியவர்களாக, தங்கள் தலைகளை உயர்த்தி(மேல் நோக்கி)யவர்களாக இருப்பர், அவர்களுடைய (நிலைகுத்திய) பார்வை அவர்கள் பக்கம் திரும்பாது, அவர்களுடைய இதயங்கள் (திக் பிரமை கொண்டு) செயலற்றுவிடும்.

rushing forward with their heads raised up, eyes not blinking and hearts void.

Waanthiri alnnasa yawma yateehimu alAAathabu fayaqoolu allatheena thalamoo rabbana akhkhirna ila ajalin qareebin nujib daAAwataka wanattabiAAi alrrusula awalam takoonoo aqsamtum min qablu ma lakum min zawalin

And warn (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) mankind of the Day when the torment will come to them; then the wrong doers will say: "Our Lord! Respite us for a little while, we will answer Your Call and follow the Messengers!" (It will be said): "Had you not sworn aforetime that you would not leave (the world for the Hereafter).

And, [O Muhammad], warn the people of a Day when the punishment will come to them and those who did wrong will say, "Our Lord, delay us for a short term; we will answer Your call and follow the messengers." [But it will be said], "Had you not sworn, before, that for you there would be no cessation?

ஆகவே, (நபியே!) இத்தகைய வேதனை நாள் வருவதைப் பற்றி நீங்கள் மனிதர்களுக்கு அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்யுங்கள். வரம்பு மீறியவர்கள் (அந்நாளில் தங்கள் இறைவனை நோக்கி) "எங்கள் இறைவனே! நீ எங்களுக்கு ஒரு சொற்பத் தவணையளி! நாங்கள் உன் அழைப்புக்கு (இனி) செவி கொடுத்து, (உன்) தூதரைப் பின்பற்றி நடப்போம்" என்று கூறுவார்கள். (அதற்கு இறைவன் அவர்களை நோக்கி) "இதற்கு முன்னர் நீங்கள் உங்களு(டைய இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கை)க்கு அழிவே இல்லை என்று சத்தியம் செய்து கூறிக் கொண்டிருக்கவில்லையா?" (என்று கேட்பான்.)

எனவே, அத்தகைய வேதனை அவர்களிடம் வரும் நாளை (நபியே!) நீர் மனிதர்களுக்கு அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்வீராக! அப்போது அநியாயம் செய்தவர்கள்; “எங்கள் இறைவனே! எங்களுக்குச் சற்றே அவகாசம் கொடுப்பாயாக! உன்னுடைய அழைப்பை நாங்கள் ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறோம்; (உன்னுடைய) தூதர்களையும் பின் பற்றுகிறோம்” என்று சொல்வார்கள். (அதற்கு இறைவன்,) “உங்களுக்கு முடிவேயில்லை என்று இதற்கு முன்னர் நீங்கள் சத்தியம் செய்து கொண்டிருக்க வில்லையா?” (என்றும்)

அன்றியும், (நபியே!) மனிதர்களை – அவர்களுக்கு வேதனை வரும்நாளைப் பற்றி நீர் அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்வீராக! அநியாயம் செய்தார்களே அத்தகையோர் - (அந்நாளில்) “எங்கள் இரட்சகனே! சமீபத்திய (சொற்ப) தவணை வரை எங்களைப் பிற்படுத்துவாயாக! (அவ்வாறு நீ எங்களை பிற்படுத்தினால்) நாங்கள் உன் அழைப்பை ஏற்கின்றோம், (உன்) தூதர்களையும் பின்பற்றுகின்றோம்” என்று கூறுவார்கள், “(இதற்கு) முன்னர் உங்களுக்கு அழிவே இல்லை என்று நீங்கள் சத்தியம் செய்து (கூறிக்) கொண்டிருக்கவில்லையா?” (என்றும்),

Warn people of the Day when the punishment will come upon them, and the wrongdoers will say, “Our Lord, give us a little more time, so that we may respond to Your call and follow the messengers!” [They will be told], “Did you not swear before that you would never cease to exist?”

Wasakantum fee masakini allatheena thalamoo anfusahum watabayyana lakum kayfa faAAalna bihim wadarabna lakumu alamthala

"And you dwelt in the dwellings of men who wronged themselves, and it was clear to you how We had dealt with them. And We put forth (many) parables for you."

And you lived among the dwellings of those who wronged themselves, and it had become clear to you how We dealt with them. And We presented for you [many] examples."

அன்றி "தமக்குத்தாமே தீங்கிழைத்து(க் கொண்டு அழிந்து போனவர்கள்) வசித்திருந்த இடத்தில் நீங்களும் வசித்திருக்க வில்லையா? (என்றும்), நாம் அவர்களை என்ன செய்தோம் என்பது உங்களுக்கு நன்கு தெரிந்திருக்கவில்லையா? (இதனைப் பற்றி) உங்களுக்குப் பல உதாரணங்களையும் நாம் எடுத்துக் கூற வில்லையா" (என்றும் பதில் கூறுவான்.)

அன்றியும் தமக்குத் தாமே தீங்கிழைத்துக் கொண்டார்களே அவர்கள் வாழ்விடங்களில் நீங்களும் வசித்தீர்கள்; அவர்களை நாம் என்ன செய்தோம் என்பதும் உங்களுக்கு தெளிவாக்கப்பட்டது; இன்னும் நாம் உங்களுக்கு(ப் பல முன்) உதாரணங்களையும் எடுத்துக் காட்டியிருக்கின்றோம் (என்றும் இறைவன் கூறுவான்).

“அன்றியும் தமக்குத் தாமே அநியாயம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவர்களின் வசிப்பிடங்களில் நீங்கள் வசித்தீர்கள், நாம் அவர்களை எவ்வாறு (வேதனை) செய்தோம் என்பது உங்களுக்கு நன்கு தெளிவாகியும் விட்டது, (இதனைப்பற்றி) உங்களுக்குப் பல (முன்) உதாரணங்களையும் நாம் எடுத்துக் காட்டியிருக்கிறோம்” (என்றும் அல்லாஹ் பதில் கூறுவான்).

You lived in the dwellings of those who wronged themselves, and it became clear to you how We dealt with them, and We gave you examples.”

Waqad makaroo makrahum waAAinda Allahi makruhum wain kana makruhum litazoola minhu aljibalu

Indeed, they plotted their plot, and their plot was with Allâh, though their plot was not such as to remove the mountains (real mountains or the Islâmic law) from their places (as it is of no importance). (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)

And they had planned their plan, but with Allah is [recorded] their plan, even if their plan had been [sufficient] to do away with the mountains.

எனினும், அவர்கள் தங்கள் சூழ்ச்சிகளை இறைவன் முன்பாகவே செய்து கொண்டிருக்கின்றனர். அவர்களுடைய சூழ்ச்சிகளோ மலைகளையும் பெயர்த்து விடக்கூடியவைகளாக இருக்கின்றன! (ஆயினும், அவர்களுடைய சூழ்ச்சிகள் ஒன்றும் பலிக்கப் போவதில்லை!)

எனினும், அவர்கள் தங்கள் சூழ்ச்சிகளைச் செய்து கொண்டேயிருந்தனர்; அவர்களுடைய சூழ்ச்சிகள் மலைகளைப் பெயர்த்து விடக்கூடியவையாக இருந்தபோதிலும், அவர்களின் சூழ்ச்சி(க்கு உரிய தண்டனை) அல்லாஹ்விடம் இருக்கிறது.

இன்னும், அவர்கள் தங்கள் சூழ்ச்சியை உறுதியாகச் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தனர், அவர்களுடைய சூழ்ச்சி(க்குரிய தண்டனை) அல்லாஹ்விடம் இருக்கிறது, அவர்களுடைய சூழ்ச்சி, அதனால் மலைகளும் பெயர்ந்துவிடக் கூடியவைகளாக இருந்தபோதிலும் (ஒன்றும் பலனளிக்கப் போவதில்லை.)

They hatched their plot, but their plot was known to Allah; even if their plot were such that would move mountains.

Fala tahsabanna Allaha mukhlifa waAAdihi rusulahu inna Allaha AAazeezun thoo intiqamin

So think not that Allâh will fail to keep His Promise to His Messengers. Certainly, Allâh is All-Mighty, All-Able of Retribution.

So never think that Allah will fail in His promise to His messengers. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Owner of Retribution.

அல்லாஹ் தன்னுடைய தூதருக்களித்த வாக்குறுதியில் அவன் தவறி விடுவான் என்று (நபியே!) நீங்கள் ஒருகாலும் எண்ண வேண்டாம். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (அவர்கள் அனைவரையும்) மிகைத்தவனும் பழிவாங்குபவனாகவும் இருக்கிறான்.

ஆகவே, அல்லாஹ் தன் தூதர்களுக்கு அளித்த தன் வாக்குறுதியில் மாறு செய்வான் என்று (நபியே!) நீர் எண்ண வேண்டாம் - நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (யாவரையும்) மிகைத்தவனாகவும், பழிவாங்குபவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

அல்லாஹ்வை – தன்னுடைய தூதர்களுக்கு தான் வாக்களித்ததற்கு மாறு செய்கின்றவன் என (நபியே!) நீர் நிச்சயமாக எண்ண வேண்டாம், மேலும், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (யாவரையும்) மிகைத்தவன், தண்டித்தலையுடையவன்.

Never think that Allah will fail in His promise to His messengers. Allah is All-Mighty, Capable of Retribution.

Yawma tubaddalu alardu ghayra alardi waalssamawatu wabarazoo lillahi alwahidi alqahhari

On the Day when the earth will be changed to another earth and so will be the heavens, and they (all creatures) will appear before Allâh, the One, the Irresistible.

[It will be] on the Day the earth will be replaced by another earth, and the heavens [as well], and all creatures will come out before Allah, the One, the Prevailing.

(நபியே! ஒரு நாளை அவர்களுக்கு ஞாபகமூட்டுங்கள்:) அந்நாளில் இந்தப் பூமியை மாற்றி வேறுவித பூமியாக அமைக்கப் பட்டுவிடும்; வானங்களும் அவ்வாறே. (ஒவ்வொருவரும் தத்தம் இடத்திலிருந்து) வெளிப்பட்டு அனைவரையும் அடக்கி ஆளுகின்ற ஒரே இறைவனாகிய அந்த அல்லாஹ்வின் சந்நிதியில் கூடி விடுவார்கள்.

இந்த பூமி வேறு பூமியாகவும், இன்னும் வானங்களும் மாற்றப்படும் நாளில் (அவர்கள் தண்டிக்கப்படுவார்கள்.) மேலும் அடக்கியாளும் ஏகனாகிய அல்லாஹ்வின் முன்னிலையில் வெளியாகி நிற்பார்கள்.

இந்த பூமி வேறு(விதப்) பூமியாகவும், வானங்களும் (அவ்வாறே) மாற்றப்படும் நாளில் (அல்லாஹ் தன் வாக்குறுதியை நிறைவேற்றுவான்.) மேலும், யாவரையும் அடக்கி ஆளுகின்ற ஒருவனாகிய அல்லாஹ்வின் சந்நிதியில் அவர்கள் (அனைவரும், அணியணியாக) வெளியாகி (நின்று) விடுவர்.

The Day when the earth will be changed to another earth and so will the heavens, and all will appear before Allah, the One, the Subjugator.

Watara almujrimeena yawmaithin muqarraneena fee alasfadi

And you will see the Mujrimûn (criminals, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh – Islâmic Monotheism, polytheists) that Day Muqarranûn (bound together) in fetters.

And you will see the criminals that Day bound together in shackles,

அன்றி, குற்றவாளிகள் அனைவரும், அந்நாளில் விலங்கிடப்பட்டிருப்பதையும் நீங்கள் காண்பீர்கள்.

இன்னும் அந்நாளில் சங்கிலிகளால் பிணைக்கப்பட்டவர்களாகக் குற்றவாளிகளை நீர் காண்பீர்.

அன்றியும், அந்நாளில் குற்றவாளிகளை (சிலரைச்சிலரோடு) சங்கிலிகளில் இணைக்கபபட்டவர்களாக நீர் காண்பீர்.

On that Day you will see the wicked bound together in chains,

Sarabeeluhum min qatranin wataghsha wujoohahumu alnnaru

Their garments will be of pitch, and fire will cover their faces.

Their garments of liquid pitch and their faces covered by the Fire.

அவர்களுடைய சட்டைகள் தாரால் செய்யப்பட்டிருக்கும். அவர்களுடைய முகத்தை நெருப்பு பொசுக்கும்.

அவர்களுடைய ஆடைகள் தாரால் (கீல் எண்ணையினால்) ஆகி இருக்கும்; இன்னும் அவர்களுடைய முகங்களை நெருப்பு மூடி இருக்கும்.

அவர்களுடைய சட்டைகள் தாரால் (செய்யப்பட்டு) இருக்கும், அவர்களுடைய முகங்களை நெருப்பு மூடிக் கொண்டுமிருக்கும்.

their garments will be of pitch and their faces covered with Fire.

Liyajziya Allahu kulla nafsin ma kasabat inna Allaha sareeAAu alhisabi

That Allâh may requite each person according to what he has earned. Truly, Allâh is Swift at reckoning.

So that Allah will recompense every soul for what it earned. Indeed, Allah is swift in account.

ஒவ்வொரு ஆத்மாவுக்கும் அது செய்த செயலுக்குத் தக்க கூலியை அல்லாஹ் (இவ்வாறு) அளிப்பான். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் கேள்வி கணக்குக் கேட்பதில் மிக்க தீவிரமானவன்.

அல்லாஹ் ஒவ்வோர் ஆத்மாவுக்கும் அது சம்பாதித்ததற்கான கூலி கொடுப்பதற்காகவே (அவர்களை அல்லாஹ் இவ்வாறு செய்வான்.) நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் கேள்வி கணக்குக் கேட்பதில் மிகவும் தீவிரமானவன்.

ஓவ்வோர் ஆத்மாவுக்கும் அது சம்பாதித்தவற்றுக்கு அல்லாஹ் கூலி நல்குவதற்காக (இவ்வாறு நபியே! நீர் காண்பீர்) நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (கேள்வி) கணக்குக் கேட்பதில் மிக்க தீவிரமானவன்.

So that Allah may recompense every soul for what it did. Allah is swift in reckoning.

Hatha balaghun lilnnasi waliyuntharoo bihi waliyaAAlamoo annama huwa ilahun wahidun waliyaththakkara oloo alalbabi

This (Qur'ân) is a Message for mankind (and a clear proof against them), in order that they may be warned thereby, and that they may know that He is the only One Ilâh (God – Allâh) – (none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh) – and that men of understanding may take heed.

This [Qur'an] is notification for the people that they may be warned thereby and that they may know that He is but one God and that those of understanding will be reminded.

மனிதர்கள் எச்சரிக்கப்பட்டு வணக்கத்திற்குரியவன் ஒரே இறைவன்தான் என்று அவர்கள் உறுதியாக அறிந்து கொள்வதற்கும், அறிவுடையவர்கள் நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெறுவதற்கும் (குர்ஆனாகிய) இது (அல்லாஹ்வின் கட்டளைகள் பொதிந்த) ஓர் அறிக்கையாகும்.

இதன் மூலம் அவர்கள் எச்சரிக்கப் படுவதற்காகவும் (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) அவன் ஒரே நாயன் தான் என்று அவர்கள் அறிந்து கொள்வதற்காகவும் அறிவுடையோர் நல்லணர்வு பெறுவதற்காகவும் மனிதர்களுக்கு இது ஓர் அறிவிப்பாகும்.

இ(வ்வேதமான)து மனிதர்களுக்கு எத்தி வைத்தலாகும், இதனைக்கொண்டு அவர்கள் எச்சரிக்கப்படுவதற்காகவும், வணக்கத்திற்குரியவன் ஒரே நாயன் (ஆன அல்லாஹ்)தான் என்று அவர்கள் உறுதியாக அறிந்து கொள்வதற்காகவும் இன்னும் அறிவுடையோர் நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெறுவதற்காகவுமாகும்.

This [Qur’an] is a message for all mankind, so that they may be warned thereby and know that He is One God, and so that the people of understanding may take heed.
